Flufftober 15 - Loki
Loki x Wizard Reader
Tumblr media
The first thing Loki thought when he walked out into the street and saw them was that they were all laughing at him.
"... If I remember correctly, people dress up as monsters tonight."
"Yes, most of the time." answered Y/N who was closing the door of the Sanctum.
"... So if some are disguised as me, I must take it as an insult."
"You... Oh. No. People also dress up as things they like and wish they were on Halloween."
"Of course, darling. People love me and really want to be me."
Since his return to Earth, his meeting with Y/N and his installation in the New York sanctum, Loki rarely went out.
Even though he refused to admit it because after all he was a God, he was a little afraid of what the Midgardians might say or do when they saw him.
Of course, they could never hurt him. Not physically.
But he was tired of being criticized, judged, hated all the time. He couldn't deny that he kinda deserved it after what he had done, but he was tired.
He also didn't want Y/N to see him being hated by everyone. Above all, he was afraid that his darling would start to see him differently, to wonder if the others weren't right and that they would decide that they didn't want him anymore.
No, he was perfectly happy and safe in the sanctum, with Y/N, the other Masters of the mystic arts, being visited by his brother and other guests from time to time.
So when Y/N asked him if he wanted to go outside to celebrate Halloween with them, he hesitated.
"I don't think people will be happy to see me."
"Don't take this the wrong way, but if you're in disguise, or dressed in anything other than your big horns, I don't think anyone will recognize you." said Y/N to reassure him.
"I have absolutely no desire to put on a ridiculous disguise."
"So you won't put on your big horns, good."
"Ha Ha Ha." he replied with a fake laugh. "You're hilarious, darling, really. Oh, nobody knows I'm an frost giant here, and the point is to be scary if I remember correctly, so I could walk out all blue."
"First, yes I'm hilarious. Second, I believe a lot of people know about your past, Thor being quite talkative. And finally, you're not scary showing off your frost giant form. You're adorable and sexy ."
           "Yes, hilarious."
He could have decided not to go, and Y/N wouldn't have forced him. They wouldn't have been disappointed or angry, accepting that he didn't want to go out.
He could also have sent a clone, but his darling would have noticed it, and Loki had absolutely no desire to lie to them or leave them alone away from him, in the streets. Even though Y/N were now one of the best masters of the mystic arts, both Strange's apprentice and Wong, certainly the next Sorcerer Supreme, they were still a bit vulnerable.
Besides, Loki was known to be jealous and overprotective.
So they went out to celebrate Halloween, Y/N wearing their apprentice outfit, and Loki being dressed in a simple black costume.
It was a real surprise for him to quickly meet several people who were disguised as him.
"Really, I don't get it, darling. The Midgardians hate me. Even if it's for fun, I didn't know they liked to dress up as real criminals. Monsters that don't exist, okay , even if some of your monsters can be seen in other worlds, you just don't know about it. But me ? I really killed hundreds of people here. It's a bit creepy."
"You made mistakes and bad things, it's true." replied Y/N, taking his hand. "And some people probably still hate you for that. But you weren't yourself. Thor explained the mind manipulation, in addition to the physical and mental abuse you suffered from Thanos, but also from Odin. People forgave Clint, and they saw that you weren't totally guilty either."
"People are stupid. You're gonna tell me they think I'm a hero like the Avengers now."
"Well... A bit ? You helped us defeat Thanos in the end. You almost sacrificed your life. There's your name on several 'thank you' plaques. There are toys and other goodies of yourself. A whole musical where you appear. And people dress up like you on Halloween, because they like you, and because your costume is ridiculous."
Loki could have answered them that the outfits of the masters of the mystic arts were not really better, but that would have been a lie, and above all he was far too shocked by the rest, observing the people around him.
They thought he was a hero.
They didn't hate him.
It had to be a dream, that was the only explanation. No, he had died fighting Thanos, and now he was in Valhalla, where he had met Y/N as a reward for his bravery on the battlefield.
"Yes, that's the only logical explanation, I'm dead."
"What ? What are you talking about ?!"
"I should have known this from the start, people don't run after me to beat me up, Thor and I get along well, I'm in a relationship with you, who's way too good to be in love with me, I have friends, what looks like a family... This is Valhalla. Odin said it was a banquet with wine and women, but that was probably his vision of happiness, it must change depending on people."
"Loki." Y/N sighed as they approached, forcing him to look at them. "You're not dead. This is real life."
"... I would know if you were lying. But maybe it's also because nothing is real that I can't know that nothing is real."
"You're adorably ridiculous, as always, but if it's also a little sad. You deserve to be loved."
"Hmm. Since I can't verify all this, I'd be a fool not to take advantage of it. I'll see later if I wake up or if higher forces decide to throw me out of this paradise after realizing that I had nothing to do here."
Y/N said nothing, knowing there was nothing to say. They only rolled their eyes, smiling before kissing him.
Of course, part of Loki wanted to believe this was all real. Maybe it was, but as the God of Lies, he was naturally suspicious.
That would not prevent him from enjoying it to the end. True or not, he wanted to stay with Y/N, in this world where he was finally accepted and appreciated.
"... Wait. There are goodies of me ? Musicals ? Disguises ? And I don't make money on that ?"
"I believe my master signed all the contracts for you."
           "... Repeat that, darling."
"Well, you live in the sanctum, where you don't help with chores, you don't pay a rent and you even break a lot of things with your jokes so... When Thor brought the contracts for you, Master Strange decided that this would be a compensation, and that you could stay if he made enough money to repair what you were destroying. Otherwise he would have thrown you out, forbidding you to see me."
"... Alright, I applaud the mischief, but I'll still prank him tonight. After all, it's Halloween. Trick or treat, right ? I know that when we get home, Wong will have already eaten all the candy, so I'll have the right to play a joke on them. A horrible joke."
"I want to stay out of this." Y/N declared with a sigh, but without trying to stop him, because it was useless, and because they were little curious to see what he was going to do, and how their Masters were going to react.

365 Marvel Comics Paper Cut-Out SuperHeroes - One Hero, Every Day, All Year…
May 6th - Doctor Strange
Doctor Stephen Strange, M.D. had once been a brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon who earned wealth and renown for his skills with a scalpel.  This all came to an abrupt end when Strange was involved in a terrible automobile crash that lefts his hands irreparably damaged.
When modern medicine failed him, Strange embarked on a journey to Kamar-Taj in Tibet.  There he was granted audience with The Ancient Once, the Sorcerer Supreme.  Strange begged that the aged sorcerer cure his crippled hands.  The Ancient One refused, offering instead to teach him the ways of magic.  Strange declined yet was unable to leave due to a sudden blizzard.
While staying for the duration of the storm, Strange witnessed the Ancient One's villainous apprentice, Baron Mordo, use black magic in an effort to depose of his teacher.  Awestruck by the sight of actual magic, Strange tried to warn the Ancient One of Mordo’s treachery.  Yet Mordo used further spells that prevented Strange from doing so.  Herein, Strange had a change of heart, deciding that the only way to stop Mordo was to learn magic himself in order to challenge Mordo on his terms.  As such, Strange accepted the Ancient One's offer. Pleased by Strange's acceptance for unselfish reasons, the Ancient One removed the mystic restraints, explaining that he was well aware of Mordo's treachery but preferred to keep the scheming pupil close by in order to control and possibly change him.
Strange spent years under the Ancient One's tutelage.  The same drive and passion that made Strange such a successful surgeon helped him to learn and understand the practice of magic; how to tap the innate mystic powers of himself and the world around him.  He also learned to invoke the powers of Principalities, powerful beings such as Dormammu, Amagato, Satannish, and the Vishanti, beings who resided in their own mystic realms.
A few years after Strange's arrival, Mordo left the Ancient One's palace to seek greater power. The two rivals would clash often in the future. It was during this time that Strange passed a test against Death itself. As a reward, Strange was given ageless life and an ankh-shaped mark on his forehead that would only appear when his life was in dire jeopardy. The Ancient One himself had attained near-immortality by passing this test over 600 years earlier.
Strange achieved the level of Master of the Mystic Arts.  He left Kamar-Taj and relocated to The Sanctum Sanctorum in Greenwich Village, New York City.  From there it was his duty to protect his realm from all manner of perils - threats that would include the dreaded Dormammu, Loki of Asgard, the fear lord Nightmare and his old adversary, Baron Mordo.  Strange also met Clea, a young woman born of the Dark Dimension.  Clea aided Strange on many occasions; the two would become lovers and were later married.  Sadly, Strange and Clea eventually had to separate when Clea became lord of the Dark Dimension.
Although Dr. Strange has had difficulty considered himself a ‘super hero,’ he has nonetheless been very much involved in the various adventures of the broader Marvel Universe.  When facing the threat of extra-dimensional beings called the Undying Ones, Strange elicited the aide of Prince Namor The Sub-Mariner, The Incredible Hulk and The Silver Surfer.  These four heroes, unofficially referred to as ‘The Defenders,’ would go on to have subsequent adventures and Dr. Strange would later help to form a more official iteration of The Defenders to aide him in safeguarding the world from mystical menaces.  Some time herein, Dr. Strange also helped to form the Illuminati, a secretive group of Earth's most influential heroes who would meet only a few times, and only to tackle events of extraordinary importance.
Following the death of The Ancient One, Strange ascended to the role of The Sorcerer Supreme.  In this new role, Strange had to attend to near countless threats as well as periodic challenges from ambitious sorcerers wishing to claim for themselves the title of Sorcerer Supreme.
Dr. Strange became a member of the New Avengers during the Dark Reign era, offering The Sanctum Sanctorum as a refuge and base of operations for the now renegade Avengers.  With The Avengers’ aide, Strange once more took on Dormammu who was using the villain known as The Hood to claim the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme.  Although Dormammu was eventually defeated, the adventured resulted in Strange’s losing this role and the heroic Brother Voodoo became the new Sorcerer Supreme.
Strange regained the mantle following the Secret Wars event and went on to face the dire threat of the Empirikul.  Herein he befriended a librarian named Zelma Stanton who became his apprentice.  Soon thereafter, Strange founded The Strange Academy, a special school to train the next generation of wizards, witches and warlocks.
Some time later, Dr. Strange was tricked by Loki into gambling away the title of Sorcerer Supreme, allowing Loki to claim it as his own.  Strange knew it would only be a matter of time before the pressures and responsibilities would prove too much for Loki.  As such, Strange took the opportunity to take a break and briefly opened a veterinary clinic where he was befriended by aged, talking basset hound named ‘Batts.’  Batts ended up passing away, but he enjoyed Strange’s company so much that he remained at his side in a ghostly form.
As expected, Loki grew wary of the title of Sorcerer Supreme and Strange was able to earn it back.  Following a harrowing adventure in Las Vegas, Strange felt his connection to earthly magic starting to wane.  Investigating this matter resulted in his traversing the cosmos and befriending a dwarf of Nidavellir named Eoffren who taught Strange the arts of Nidavellirian craftsmanship (the artisanship that created Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir).  Strange regained his connection to magic and was able to repel a Majesdanian attack on earth.
Upon returning to earth, Strange was embroiled in yet another dire threat where he had to prevent Galactus from consuming the earth.  The matter was actually a ploy by the demonic entity, Mephisto, who had unsuccessfully tried to make Galactus his minion.  Mephisto was so enraged by his failure and Strange’s interference that he took his revenge by altering Clea's mind, erasing all of her memories of her relationship with Strange.
More recently, Dr. Strange was murdered in an attack by his old adversary, Kaecilius.  Strange was briefly resurrected in order to fend off the threat of the Three Mothers and Peregrine Child as well as to gain revenge on Kaecilius.  The entity of Death, however, still held claim to Strange’s soul and undid his resurrection.  As he passed on to the next plain, Strange offered the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme to Clea thus allowing her to recall her memories of him. When Dr. Strange will return remains to be told.
A version of Dr. Strange appeared in 1978 television movie, portrayed by actor Peter Hootin; Benedict Cumberbatch has portrayed another version of the hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  Dr. Strange first appeared in the pages of Strange Tales #110 (1963)

what do you think of the mcu's take on the sorcerer supreme as a title?
It is really bad, imo. First because I don't like the idea that the Sorcerer Supreme is supposed to teach dozens of students in a magic school. This is not their duty in 616 (even in Strange Academy, it's common to see that Stephen is busy with other activities so he can't be a regular teacher, nor the headmaster).
Usually, the Sorcerer Supreme has one (1) apprentice and they're mostly busy with protecting Earth. MCU!Kamar-Taj gives me "training soldiers to fight mystic wars" vibes and this is not what magic wielders do. Magic just simply happens to them, they're touched by it, and they usually have a personal journey, each one wiith a different kind of magic that shapes their lives (Wanda, Illyana, Nico, Loki, Stephen, Jericho, and the list goes on).
Besides, the title is not a status. You're usually chosen by the Vishanti or the former SS leaves the mantle to you. You inherit a great power which is often depicted as a burden (Clea herself using this exact word to describe what it feels like to be a Sorcerer Supreme of two different realms).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is true that being the Sorcerer Supreme doesn't mean you're the most powerful magic wielder of your realm. It means that you're wise enough to use magic in a clever way. And this is what Stephen usually does, SS or not.
Still, Wong being overshadowed by Stephen's protagonism does bother me. They could use Wong as someone equal to Stephen when it comes to resilience if they wanted to make him the Sorcerer Supreme (something similar to Ant-Man and the Wasp, where they share the deeds of their heroism).
But then again, magic has never been properly depicted in the MCU, so it doesn't surprise me that they still fail to portray its dynamics (*laughs in Asgardian magic*).

Leaving the god of mischief in charge of defending the New York Sanctum wouldn’t have been most people’s first choice. Today there had been little other option. It had started out as a typical day as an apprentice, dusting and sweeping the library manually with the reward of getting to read once he was done. As a prince, he wasn’t exactly accustomed to this sort of duty, and there was naturally a deal of muttering and cursing his way through it, along with occasional bits of cheating.
Strange had excused himself on some vague errand to see an old colleague. A few hours later and there was an attack on the city by some great beast. No amount of persuading Wong would let him assist, so Loki was resigned to guarding the place while the sorcerers battled this new threat.
A little while later, after sending several himself, he received a text from Stephen telling him everything was fine and that they were going to Kamar-Taj. Wonderful. Just wonderful. Ah, well, it at least gave him free run of the library. No one was there to tell him off. He wasn’t allowed a sling ring without supervision yet or there was no telling where he might pop off to.
Hours and hours passed and there was no word. He sent texts but they stopped being received. Loki didn’t like it. Yet, he couldn’t abandon the Sanctum. He went into the mirror dimension and practised, busying his mind, trying to tell himself that he wasn’t worried about Stephen Strange. Why would he be?
When a portal finally opened into the Sanctum from outside, at least a day must have passed. The place was practically spotless. It was also riddled with hidden, harmless pranks that Loki hadn’t been able to resist.
Tumblr media
“Where the hel have you been?” he demanded as Strange appeared, not yet fully registering the guest he was bringing with him. “I was on the verge of declaring myself Sorcerer Supreme.”

In a universe where Loki allied with the Guardians early, and survived the beginning of the Infinity War; things have turned out very different.
And now that the conflicts ending on Earth in Wakanda, are over? The things sped through and set aside to accomplish that are still being caught up with by Stephen Strange, a set of fractured but mending Avengers team; and the rest of the worlds involved. Especially, Earth; and what remains of Asgard.
Two weeks into that aftermath, Stephen is still reeling and uncertain between the things he's seen, heard, and experienced while reluctantly standing shoulder to shoulder with, if not steps behind the mostly Asgardian-taught sorcerer: adding the revelation he was known by and ally to the previous Sorceress Supreme, the Ancient One? And that Loki has taken up the position of Master of the London Sanctum out of respect for the centuries-old Celt's recorded posthumous requests especially?
Isn't helping Strange, come to terms.. much.

Loki falling in love w/ a Master of Mystic Arts | Marvel HC
Link to marvel masterlist
Tumblr media
Loki falling in love w/ a Master of Mystic Arts would look like:
The first meeting with Loki was anything but a warm welcome. As a student of Doctor Strange, you happened to be present when Thor made his way to the Sanctum in search of where Loki had gone after they were unable to locate their father. Dressed in a tunic of your favorite color, you stood to the side to witness the interaction between the Sorcerer Supreme and the God of Thunder.
“Are you a wizard as well?” “This isn’t Hogwarts, your highness.”
You had to hold back laughter when Loki landed face first on the floor. The smile was wiped away and replaced with a look of challenge under the Gods glare. The man was not impressed as you can assume, and that was the last you saw him after Strange sent the two away. “Charming, isn’t he, Strange?”
It would be several weeks later you find yourself reacquainted with the God of Mischief. After Strange was taken by Ebony Maw and you were left on Earth, you traveled to Wakanda with the remaining Avengers to protect Vision from Thanos. It was quiet the surprise for all of you when you saw Thor and Loki accompanied by a tree like figure and a talking raccoon.
When Loki recognized you, he was taken aback and rather unamused. “I take it the second-hand sorcerer was unable to make an appearance? You sure a young apprentice such as yourself can handle this?” “I’m more than capable—you’ll find my magic might just rival that of yours, you highness.”
Neither of you two could stand each other in the beginning, but were not blind to the obvious attraction you had for another. Both of you blipped and returned on the same note you had five years earlier—only this time, you two were able to bond by the fact you had lost so much time.
An unlikely…partnership was the best to describe the situation, one filled with bickering and banter. Always trying to one up the other often led to arguments which resulted in Loki turning you into some kind of animal, or you pushing him into a portal to another continent.
“Stop turning me into a fucking donkey!” “Then learn to not send me to God knows where for a hours having to fend for myself!”
Strange wasn’t oblivious unlike Thor. Thor found amusement in your behavior, but the God was pretty surprised when Stephen came up to him with the obvious truth. “Their denial is becoming exhausting.” “What denial do you speak of, wizard Strange?” “Are you serious? You don’t see the sexual tension—the looks and words. My God you’re just as blind as them.”
The first time you two kissed you both look at each other almost horrified. It had been unexpected in the heat of an argument, but then Loki slowly put his hands on your cheeks and brought you into a more softer kiss that took your breath away. It scared you, fearing he would walk away and pretend it didn’t happen, but Loki surprised you with a look that spoke a thousand words.
“I…..I feel I must apologize for my actions and words prior to this moment. I never once wanted you to feel like I hated you, Y/n.” “Loki, I forgive you as long as long as you can find it in your heart to forgive me. I’m not proud of how I acted toward you and hope you understand I never felt that way either.”
Thor owed Strange $20 bucks and the payment was met the next morning when the two of you were spotted having tea and smiling. Both the men were leaning over a doorway and witnessed Loki brush away a piece of your hair before placing a kiss to your cheek.
The rivalry between you two never seized despite forming a relationship. When it came who was better at magic, you found pleasure in the games you two created. Missions were especially fun to go head to head. “Pulling your punches, darling?” “Just keeping you on your toes.”
You two were paired together on missions. Loki loved when the two of you were sent undercover and the details included you having to dress up. Often times he would change the color of your attire to green with a flick of his hand—which ended with you giving a look of disapproval, although he could see the smirk on your face.
Loki LOVES when you create one of those whip and will pull him to you. Mans was shocked the first time you did after he tried walking away from you during an argument, and felt rather aroused. “Is it bad this kinda turned me on?”
You’re the first to say ‘I love you.’ It happened after Loki defended his feelings for you after Thor had accused him of scheming once more to achieve the throne. After being with him for months, you picked up on his mannerisms and could spot when he lied and told the truth. Love consumed you when you realized he was in fact telling the truth.
After you said it, Loki picked you up and spun you with joy while placing kisses on your face—all while repeating the phrase against your skin.
The other Avengers are happy for you two—even Strange. He was a little uneasy in the beginning, but as your mentor and friend the man was happy for you.
Loki taught you a thing or two of the magic he learned from his mother, and in turn you showed him the beauty of the Mystic Arts.
You two brought out the best in one another. Loki never thought he was deserving of affections—let alone someone as amazing as you. He made sure everyday you knew how much he loved you. This came in words, actions, gifts, even the smallest of looks spoke volume between you two.
Loki is still resentful of Strange for making him fall for thirty minutes straight into nothingness, but eventually lets it go. After some time of course. “Loki, Stephen apologized months ago—.” “The spider kid had him dangle for twelve hours, only then did he realize what it’s like to be on the receiving end.” “And how do you feel now?” “…..pretty damn happy.”

Still don't like the fact that Strange was able to "overpower" Loki. Don't know how it is in the comics, but you just can't tell me that a mage with more experience and knowledge was "defeated" by someone with less.
Yes, totally agree. But let me tell you how it is in comics. In Doctor Strange(2015), Loki creates such a convincing illusion that makes Strange thinks he has lost the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme to Loki. To defeat Loki, Strange goes to Asgard to steal part of their magic by offering a valuable thing to Yggdrasil and he becomes a god of magic.
Tumblr media
But even this wasn’t enough. Because in Marvel comics magic has a price and to pay for the spells Strange were using against Loki, he made Sentry, a powerful superhero, pay the price.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then Zelma, a magic apprentice arrives at the scene and uses a spell that prevents Loki and Strange from using magic for a short amount of time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Loki is still a god. So Strange frees the void, the entity that had perviously killed the original Loki and let it consume him to defeat Loki.
Tumblr media
Strange did all of this because he thought Loki wanted to find a powerful spell which would transfer all magic of world to the caster. Strange had hidden the spell in Zelma’s soul and removing it would have killed Zelma.
Tumblr media
But Loki, not only was able to free the spell from Zelma’s soul without killing her, he also separated Strange from the void, and then returned all the magic that was transformed to him, into Earth and its rightful owners.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is only a fraction of Loki’s power in comics. So imagine knowing all of this, and seeing Strange overpowering Loki with Loki trying to fight him off with daggers and not with magic. Loki won’t be defeated by Strange if MCU gives him his full range of power.

Apprentice.
Pairing: Stephen Strange x F!Reader
Genre: Fluff, Mutual Pining
Warning: Forced kissing (?) idk how to put it. Almost one non-consensual kiss.
Summary: Doctor Strange, World's Greatest Sorcerer, is in love with his apprentice. Unfortunately, when it comes to love, he's a dumbass.
Author's Note: Hey guys I'm sorry I haven't posted in so long! My college started, my classes are going on in full force and I haven't written anything readable in so long ugghhhh hope you guys enjoy this (Except for Loki, Spider-Man, Bonky and Steeb, the other characters' fics don't do that well 😳 but I'ma post this nonetheless)
---
Stephen POV:
I sighed as I watched Y/N sitting on the floor talking and joking around with the Cloak of Levitation. "Skedaddle, skedoodle..." "Y/N—" "Your dick is a noodle!" Levi made a happy noise and wrapped itself tightly around Y/N. She completely ignored me, laughing as the cloak hugged her.
Y/N was my apprentice. She also, coincidentally, happened to be the woman I was totally, hopelessly and obsessively in love with. "Y/N, if you're done, maybe you can come here and help me!" I yelled as cold-heartedly as possible, finally having enough. "Sorry, sir," she whispered.
Oh, the things she did to me when she called me 'sir'. Of course, Y/N was the best apprentice ever. She was the student every teacher dreamed of. Wait, that came out a bit creepy— She got up and quickly walked to me. Levi settled herself back on my shoulders. Y/N took a book in her hand and started reading.
I silently watched her as she focused on the book. Since I was so in love with her, my mind believed that maybe being cold to her would help me. I needed to get rid of distractions and Y/N... she was my biggest distraction. "Sir, I found it!" Y/N squealed, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Give that to me," I huffed, grabbing the book from her hand. "You may leave." Y/N nodded and got up, walking out of the library. I watched. The way her hips swayed when she walked, the way she only liked to wear skirts and sweaters all the time drove me crazy.
It was hard not to be in love with such a beautiful person.
Y/N POV:
"What's his problem," I grumbled as I picked my book off the stairs. I sat down on the fourth step and opened the book again. I was an apprentice to the one and only, Doctor Stephen Strange. I liked it at the New York Sanctum, that's where the both of us lived. I liked being an apprentice to the Sorcerer Supreme too, that is, if he treated me like a person.
He never talked politely to me. I was very damn sure that whatever it was, was my fault. I did something. So I started taking care more. I never messed up. It had been months since my last mistake. All of Strange's friends commented well about me. Wong and Mordo said I was the best apprentice there was. Even the Ancient One said I was good.
So what was Strange's problem? At least Levi liked me. She was the only one I could talk to freely, even though the cloak itself couldn't talk. As I quietly sat and read on the stairs, I heard a loud knocking on the door to the sanctum. Startled, I stood up. Before I could move, Strange was running down the stairs. "Don't move," he growled, stopping me as I followed him.
His hand collided hard with my chest and I was thrown back. I landed on the stairs on my butt. I groaned and scrambled back to my feet as Strange opened the door. Outside stood the two Norse Gods, Thor and Loki. My eyes widened.
I stood silently as the three of them chatted. A blush crept up my cheeks as I noticed that instead of focusing on what Strange was saying, Loki was eyeing me up.
I honestly didn't think I looked that great. Sure, I had a maintained figure and a thankfully unblemished face but no one would be into this. I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and looked away, Loki's stare still burning holes through my body. I heard Strange sighing.
"Alright, follow me. Y/N, keep an eye on Loki. Make sure he doesn't touch anything," Stephen glared at me and went upstairs with Thor. I looked down. Why did Dr Strange hate me so much? As far as I remember, I had done nothing to him. "It's sad, how he treats you."
"What do you mean?" I looked up at Loki, confused. I grew extremely self conscious as Loki took a few steps towards me, smirking. "Judging by his tone and glare, he clearly despises you. Why do you still continue to be with him, dearest?" he crooned and I took a step back.
"It's— it's not what you think... I'm his apprentice, not his girlfriend," I whispered, uncomfortable. "An apprentice? How nice."
"Wh-What?"
I got incredibly scared when Loki smirked more and stepped closer to me. "That means you're available, aren't you? Unless..." I shook my head furiously. "I'm not dating," I said in a rush. Wait, why was I acting like that? I wasn't interested in him, not at all!
There was no denying he was handsome and intelligent, but I just didn't like him that way. "Good. I've always wanted a pretty princess like you." I audibly gulped as Loki stood an inch away from me. I was standing on the sixth step on the stairs while Loki stood on the fifth. Even still, he was taller than I was. He leaned down and breathed out.
My heart rate skyrocketed, what was he doing? Whatever it was, I didn't like it. I loved someone else. I was in love with my teacher, Stephen Strange. It hurt me everyday how much he hated me but I liked him a lot. As soon as Loki's lips were about to be placed on mine... "Loki, I told you not to touch anything!" Loki quickly pulled back and stepped down.
I continued standing where I was, my eyes closed as I breathed heavily. When I opened my eyes, I saw Strange glaring daggers at Loki. It looked as if he was about to kill Loki then and there. "Sir—" I started but he cut me off. "Ah-ah! Shut up, I'll deal with you later!" he growled.
"Yes, sir," I whispered, looking down. My eyes filled with tears, what was happening? When no one was looking, I wiped my tears.
Alas, I was wrong. Strange saw me wiping my tears and his heart finally shattered.
Stephen POV:
I could not believe the audacity of that terrible excuse for a demigod. How dare he try to kiss the love of my life right under my roof?! I was incredibly upset when I saw that Y/N wasn't pushing him away. I knew she had always been a shy person, but...
"Thor, take your brother and leave," I grunted, opening a portal. Thor was just looking around awkwardly as Loki smirked at me and I glared at him. "I'll not be forgetting about you, Y/N!" Loki purposely yelled as he stepped through the portal. I looked at Y/N as he said it and saw her flinching.
So she really didn't care about that man. My heart broke. Why was I treating her like this? Like a caged animal? Like a disappointing kid? Y/N was far from disappointing, she was excellent. When the portal closed, I looked at Y/N. "Care to explain?" I snapped, crossing my arms.
"It wasn't me, it was all him," she whispered, her voice breaking. She was trying not to break down. "What did he do?" I questioned. "He... he tried to kiss me. I didn't want to do it. I don't like him that way." Y/N was still looking at the ground, her book long forgotten on the stairs.
I picked it up. "I want you to look up when we talk!" Her head snapped up and her eyes widened. I was holding her book out to her. She extended a shaking hand and accepted the book. "Th-Thank you," she stuttered. I realised that her whole body was shaking. That's when it hit me, how difficult it was for her.
I treated her like scum, blinded by my own mind. She was doing her best to impress me yet I continued ignoring her. Today's incident must have been worse for her. I mean, being taken without consent... my mind cleared up.
I had to make it up to her.
"Come on, Y/N, let's continue with our research, shall we?" I asked her softly and she nodded, still avoiding my eyes. We walked to the library. After that, I treated her like the princess, the angel she was. I complimented her all the time, became friendlier with her.
She worked as diligently as ever. But now, there was happiness around her when she worked. And I, as always, loved watching her. I wanted to confess my feelings. By now, I didn't care about rejection. I just wanted to get the feelings out. "Sir?" Yet again, I snapped out of my thoughts.
"Yes, sweetheart?" I asked, smiling at her. "Have I got something on my face or are you lost in thoughts?" she chuckled, eyes shining with teasing affection. I admit, after seeing her break down and finally treating her nicely, Y/N and I grew closer. We talked outside work now and she had a lot of interesting things to tell me.
"You've got something on your face," I smiled, getting up. I sat in front of her on the floor; she loved sitting on floors for some reason. She said it was cold and she liked it. "What?" she frowned, touching her face. "Beauty," I whispered and she froze. She looked at me.
"Sir, I—"
"I'm just gonna say it, Y/N, I'm in love with you."
"Then why did you treat me like I was nothing?"
"Because I didn't want any distraction from my work. You were the biggest distraction ever, with a beauty like that."
"What do you mean?"
"I thought that maybe by treating you coldly the feelings would go away. But they grew. And now I realize, my work is actually the biggest distraction from you." She chuckled at my joke. I took her hand and pressed a kiss to it. "Please tell me you like me back, I won't be able to sleep at night," I whispered, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She grinned and tittered.
"Of course I do, I love you so much, sir," she whispered and I finally, after months of pining, pressed my lips to hers. She kissed back. My hands moved to her waist and I brought her on my lap, leaning against the wall behind me as we kissed passionately.
"Tell me you're mine, no one else's."
"Of course I'm yours, sir."
"Gah, you have no idea what that word does to me."
She found out that night.

Anything You Can Do | Loki x Female Reader
Tumblr media
A/N:  This came out of a conversation about Stephen Strange and Loki taking bets on who was better at magic and training the reader.
Pairing:   Loki x Female Reader
Summary:  You are an apprentice training directly under the tutelage of Dr. Stephen Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme.  And it is not going well.  Loki challenges Strange that he could train you better than him.  Terms are set and you whisked off for the next three months to train in secret with Loki.  During that time, you learn more than just magic.
Warnings: Cursing, too much fluff, mentions of shitty parenting, implied smut, Strange being a bit of a dick.

“No, no, no NO!” Stephen bellowed while you slumped to the floor. You had been at this for hours and there seemed to be no end in sight.
“She’s tired.” Loki commented from the far wall. He leaned casually, inspecting his nails and seemingly uninterested.
Stephen glared at Loki. “What part of silent observer is difficult for you to understand?”
Loki pushed off the wall with his shoulder and strolled to where you and Stephen stood. “The part where you insist on torturing and tormenting your student.” Loki gestured towards you. “Look at her, wizard. She can barely stand, let alone complete the complex incantation you are expecting of her.”
Stephen puffed out his chest. “My students work best under extreme conditions. Like a diamond—”
Loki rolled his eyes and moved to help you up. “—Please don’t finish that thought. I just ate. Here.” He offered you a hand, and you took it, pulling yourself to your feet. “Strange, your methods are as archaic as your magic.”
Stephen sneered. “Do you think you could do better with her? She lacks focus. Discipline.” Your chin dropped. Stephen was the strictest teacher you ever had. It seemed nothing less than perfection was acceptable.
“I do.” Loki retorted. Your eyes snapped to him. Training with Loki? You weren’t sure if this was a blessing or curse. The god was notorious for his outbursts.
Stephen arched an eyebrow. “A wager?”
Loki nodded. “Name the terms.”
“You trained her solely for three months and then put on a demonstration at the end.”
“And if I win?” Loki asked. “Will you continue to allow her to train with me? Without your interference?”
“With pleasure.” Stephen smiled. He extended a hand towards Loki.
“Woah, woah.” You stepped between the two of them. “Don’t I get a say in any of this?”
Loki blinked and crossed his arms. “Yes. What do you want to do?”
You chewed on your lip. Things weren’t going well with Stephen, that was obvious. But it was a situation of the devil you know versus the devil you don’t.
“I think…” You chose your words with care. “… what I am doing now is not working. And perhaps a break would be good for everyone involved.”
Stephen nodded with an eye roll. “Fine. She’s all yours, Loki.” He turned with a flourish, his cloak floating behind him. “Good luck.”
Once Stephen disappeared from sight, you turned to face Loki with trepidation. “So….” You rocked back on your heels.
Loki sized you up. “Meet here at six in the morning. We start tomorrow.”
He disappeared in a flash, leaving you wondering what you had agreed to.
-
Loki smiled as he saw you standing the courtyard a full five minutes early.
“Excellent. Let’s go.” Loki extended his hand to you.
“Where are we going?”
“Not here. I won’t have Strange snooping about. Now take my hand.” He shook his hand at you.
With much trepidation, you placed your hand in his. He gave a mischievous smile as the two of you were enveloped in golden light.
“I would hold on tight.” He chuckled as he pulled you against him.
Before you knew it, your feet met solid ground and your head pressed into the solid muscular mass of Loki’s shoulder.
“You can let go now.” Loki commented as he attempted to pry his arm from the death grip of your nails. “Not that I am not used to beautiful women throwing themselves at me.”
He let loose a bit of a chuckle as you glared at him with an expression of shock, horror, and bewilderment.
“Just a bit of humor to lighten the mood. I get the impression Dr. Strange is not one for jokes during training.”
You cleared your throat, letting loose a nervous giggle. Like Loki would fancy you, you thought derisively.
“I appreciate that. Where would you like to start?” You tugged your tunic in place.
“Well first, let’s get you out of those ridiculous robes.” Loki flicked his wrist and replaced your apprentice robes with jeans and a t-shirt. “Now that my eyesight isn’t being assaulted, show me what you have learned so far.”
You furrowed your brow in concentration, slipping your sling ring onto your fingers. As you gestured in the air, drawing the symbols from sparks, Loki’s eyes never wavered. The sparks flew in that air and initially materialized only to dissipate.
“I’m nervous.” you apologized.
“Loki rubbed his chin. “That much is clear. But I can see why the Sorcerer is so hard on you. The potential is astounding.” Loki circled you. He pulled your sling ring off. “But you don’t need this to focus your power. I can teach you. If you are willing.” He stared at you with those piercing green eyes.
“I would like that.” You stared back.
Loki nodded, breaking the tension. “Good, then let’s get started.” He rolled up his sleeves.
-
Three Weeks Later
“It is no use, Loki. I can’t do it!” you cried out as once again you failed to move the apple from one pedestal to another.
Loki gazed up from his reading. “Not with that attitude.” He closed his book and walked behind you. His hands lighted on your shoulders, sending a shiver up your spine. “You are so tense.” He rubbed his thumbs into the muscles. “I am not your Dr. Strange. I have been spoken to harshly enough in my lifetime to know they do little good in terms of motivation.”
Loki gazed into the distance, remembering his less than idyllic childhood. Odin constantly comparing his prowess with a sword to Thor, while overlooking Loki’s clear talents in diplomacy and magic. Had it not been for his mother, Loki would have gone mad.
“Now relax.” His hands slid down your arms. “Close your eyes and envision the apple moving in your mind as you perform the spell.”
You closed your eyes and focused on seeing the apple moving from one spot to another as you moved your hands.
“Open your eyes.” Loki whispered in your ear.
You peeked one eye open to spy the apple moved.
“I did it!” you squealed with delight. “I did it, Loki!”
Loki grinned from ear to ear at not only your success but your reaction to it. “Yes, you did.” He blushed as you jumped up to kiss his cheek. He cleared his throat. “Now do it again.” His cheek flushing again as you turned around and completed the spell successfully again.
Again you jumped with glee, clapping your hands. Loki clasped his hands behind him and rocked back onto the heels of his boots. “Excellent work. Let’s break for lunch and continue your lessons this afternoon.”
You grabbed your things to head back to the room where you were staying during your studies for the next three months. Loki insisted on no outside distractions or influence from Strange or anyone else. As best you could tell, the two of you were ensconced somewhere on Asgard. You overheard mention of a summer residence.
“I hoped you would lunch with me this afternoon.” Loki chimed in. He quickly added. “to discuss your lessons.”
“Who can resist an offer so eloquently presented?” you giggled. “Lead the way.”
Loki smiled and offered his arm to you, which you gladly took.
-
The Eve Before the Demonstration
It was well after dinner. You didn’t eat much. Loki noticed. He noticed everything about you these days. Much to his irritation. And tomorrow was the demonstration. Loki paced the halls. He hadn’t planned on becoming infatuated by you. A complication to his teaching of you. And it would seem you were uninterested in anything more than a professional relationship.
“Damn it!” Loki overheard you cursing in the courtyard.
“You need to rest.” Loki stepped out of the shadows, causing you to jump.
You regained your composure. “It needs to be perfect.”
Loki stepped behind you and rubbed your shoulders. “And it will be. But you need sleep.”
“I can’t sleep. I’m too nervous. What if I fail? I can’t bear the thought of failing in front of Strange.” A single tear fell onto your cheek.
Loki turned you to face him and hugged you tight. “You won’t fail. Of all the humans I have met, I have never met one with such determination and discipline.”
“I could not have done it without you.” You gazed up at Loki.
He squeezed your shoulders again. “Nonsense. All you needed was a gentle but firm hand and the space to relax. But you did the work.”
Your heart fluttered as Loki praised you. You realized he was your teacher in the ways of magic, but your admiration for his skill had grown into something more. Highly inappropriately something more.
“And I want to assure that when—”
“—If.” you interjected.
“—When you succeed, you are not obligated to continue your training with me.” Loki’s eyes turned downcast. “It must have been hard to be separated from your friends and family these past several months. I hope my company hasn’t been too horrid.”
You gave his chest a playful shove. “Not at all. I have found your company rather… charming.” you smiled. “And I am afraid there weren’t many to miss me on Earth. I kept to myself until Strange found me and began my studies.” You fidgeted.
“I see.” Loki rubbed your shoulders once more. “Well, let’s see you off to bed.” He offered his arm once, and you took it.
You reached the doors to your bedchamber far sooner than you hoped. Your fingers lingered on the doorknob, attempting to screw up the courage to say what has been weighing on your heart for well over two months. In the end, you chickened out.
“Good night, Loki.” you sighed.
“Good night, love. We will depart immediately after breakfast in the morning.” His voice held a certain heaviness you never noticed before.
You nodded and disappeared behind your door. Loki turned away with a heavy heart.
-
The Next Day
“I’m waiting!” Stephen called out from the chair where he was sprawled out, legs hanging over one arm.
“I can’t do it. We can tell him I’m sick. Reschedule for tomorrow.” You paced the floor, wringing your hands.
“You can. I won’t and absolutely not.” Loki crossed his arms at you. “Stop stalling and go out there.”
Your eyes welled with tears. “Please don’t make me go out there by myself. I can’t face him alone.”
Loki’s hands dropped by his side. He moved to grab your shoulders. “You can do this, my love.” You were so nervous, you didn’t notice the slight change to his sentiment. “Now go, so we can celebrate.
You nodded and headed out there. Loki tucked himself in the back of the room to watch you. A few deep breaths and you began. Your first trick was to move the chair Stephen sat on, causing the Sorcerer to hit the ground with a heavy thud. Loki chuckled from the corner in approval.
With fast and swift hand motions, you reappeared the chair underneath you, mirroring Stephen’s earlier posture. You procured an apple from thin air to eat. Stephen stood silently for several moments before clapping his hands together.
“Well done, Loki.” he commented with a dark chuckle. “It would seem that you have tamed the untameable.” He walked to meet Loki with an outstretched hand.
Loki stepped beside you with a scowl. “The credit goes to her, not me. And if you stopped shouting once in a while, you would see the rare talent…” He turned to gaze at you. “… the rare woman you have standing in front of you.”
Stephen’s mouth dropped open in shock. “It would seem you have bested me.” He extended his hand to you, which you shook with a firm grip. He turned to Loki once more. “she’s your pupil.”
Loki cleared his throat and shuffled his feet. “If it is all the same, I would rather decline the role of teacher.”
You gasped and turned to Loki in anguish. “Why? I thought… you… I…” you blubbered, tears flowing freely down your face.
“I would much prefer the title of partner.” Loki turned to you. “That is, if you will have me. What do you say, my love?” He reached out and cupped your face.
“Yes!” you squealed before he pulled you into a passionate kiss. His lips soft but hungry against yours. You didn’t care if Stephen stared. All that mattered at the moment was Loki.
“I’ll leave you two be.” Stephen muttered with a wink as he disappeared into the Sanctorum.
Loki parted, his chest heaving. “Let us return home, my love. There are more lessons to learn.”
“But you said—”
Loki’s eyes twinkled. “ — I shall teach this lesson in the bedroom, my love.”
You couldn’t wait to get started.

Headcanons for being Dr. Strange’s Apprentice
Stephen Strange x apprentice!reader
warnings:
a/n: for some reason i never retain any information from dr. strange stuff? so if this sucks its because i cant process it. i dont like how this one turned out i literally have no ideas
prompt: anonymous: “Hcs for being Dr. Strange’s apprentice?”
Tumblr media
you were led to become strange’s apprentice after a tragedy and a brush with death
you woke in the hospital with bad news, there were no other survivors in the accident you had just experienced
while you were recovering, a doctor came in to visit you
“hi, y/n. im doctor christine palmer, and im so sorry for your loss. but i think i know a guy that could help you through this”
she gave you an address that you sort of recognized
“177A bleecker street? isnt that the funky looking house in greenwich?”
“something like that, just trust me on this one”
“thank you, doctor”
at first, you were a bit skeptical, but you tried your odds and hobbled to the place on your crutches
when you knocked, a man in blue robes and a red cape answered
“can i help you, y/n?”
“oh, hi? sorry, a doctor at metro-general sent me here”
“doctor palmer, im aware”
“ah, she called ahead?”
“no. come in”
you were very weirded out
“so, what is this place? and who are you?”
“you ask too many questions”
“oh, okay”
from the moment this wizard met you, he saw himself in you
lost, hopeless, upset with the way the world had treated you
“to answer your earlier question, i am doctor strange, the sorcerer supreme”
“oh...i dont know what that means”
he found you somewhat funny
“in time, you will”
he looked back on the teachings of his former master to show you what it meant to start your training
you honestly didn’t know what to think of the kaleidoscope of the world projected in front of you
“are you ready to commit to your training?”
“sure...i mean, i dont have anything else to do”
a valid reason, truly
“your leg will heal naturally, your mind, on the other hand...”
“i know, i gotta do some spiritual shit to help myself”
“thats one what to put it”
it took some time for you to understand what it was that dr. strange was teaching
but once you grasped the puzzling concepts, you excelled
there was a fine contrast between you and your master
he was much more sophisticated than you, but he had a sense of humor
you were on the bubbly side, always goofing around with your magic
“y/n, how many times must i remind you that opening portals into the freezer for the ice cream is misuse of your magic”
“oh, come on! i just cant resist the hunka-hulka burnin’ fudge!”
“just...just walk to the kitche—did you seriously just grab it while i was telling you not to?”
*through a mouthful* “sohwry”
wong watches the two of your sorcerers converse often, it’s one of the only things that really makes him laugh
calling the cloak of levitation “cloakie”
it drives strange crazy dbshahhsh
but cloakie answers to it just fine
during battles, it sometimes flies away from your master to give you a quick assist
“thanks cloakie!”
being assigned “homework”
so much reading it could’ve driven you mad
strange explaining the eye of agamotto and the time stone to you
“now listen, this comes before everything else, you must learn to protect yourself because i’ll let you die before i lose this”
“what a comforting thought”
stephen was pretty up front with you
he didn’t like the way that the ancient one kept so many secrets, so he informed you and as much as you should know
“those yellow gloves look like you’re getting ready to wash the dishes” (no hate i actually liked them lmao)
meeting thor and loki!
“i think i’ll just send loki through the looping portal while i take care of business with his brother, would you mind keeping him some company?”
“i’d love to!”
and then you gracefully fell with him, he didn’t enjoy your presence very much
stephen would tell you about his life before he became a sorcerer
all was well for a while after that but then lmaooo a famous scientist just happened to crash through the roof
“woah, you’re bruce banner! love your ice cream”
“not now, y/n”
“my bad”
meeting tony stark and just kind of...not vibing with him
but something about him seemed familiar
“no shit, sherlock” (seriously im mad i this wasn’t in a3 or a4)
epic battle on the streets of new york that led to your master being captured by aliens
you and wong went back to protect the sanctum, but you pitched in to help fight the real battle
much to the dismay of wong
and then wong dusted, so you were left to protect the sanctum
you missed your master very much
in the next five years, you did all you could to learn about your magic
and your skills proved spectacular
you suspected that you might need to take dr. strange’s place for good
until wong reappeared right in front of you
“hello again, y/n. did you miss me?”
“miss you? wong, i’ve been dying over here!”
“that seems like an exaggeration”
helping to open portals around the world (and galaxy) to get everyone to the big battle
and finding your master, all had become right once again
“doctor strange!”
“y/n! i have to say, im impressed at how you handled yourself after thanos”
“you mean youre happy i didn’t destroy the sanctum or become interested in. the dark dimension?”
“more or less”
a teamup to remember between master and apprentice
returning to the sanctum with strange
“did you move the relics around??”
“...i wanted to remodel”
i cant think of anything else???? im sorry shhshshshsh

In this series we take a look at the romantic relationships Dr. Strange has had in the past. These will be all NON-CANON relationships. I’ll be providing an in-depth analysis of both characters, but mostly an emphasis on where it left Dr. Strange in the end.
This week we’ll be looking at the kind of life Loki and Dr. Strange had together.
Please note the following warnings before reading. Also, sections will be broken up into headers to help with the reading process.
Current word count: ~3K
[WARNINGS: substance abuse/domestic violence (verbal/emotional/mental abuse)]
[Further reading: We briefly got to talk about their relationship in this post here where I described Loki’s impact on Dr. Strange’s gender experience]
Timeline
I think it’s important to establish a timeline for when certain relationships/meetings took place on this blog. I do talk about this in the analysis, but not too specifically.
I can’t name a specific comic right now, but according to this blog’s canon, this relationship would have taken place before Clea, after the break-up with Quentin Beck, AND during a time when Stephen and Azazel were going on break.
Before they met
My Avenger’s canon related knowledge isn’t very strong [because I don’t like reading about them :) ] but I believe Loki has been a regular villain for the Avengers ever since Thor was introduced to the team. I also believe the Avengers existed as a group before Doctor Strange became a sorcerer, so Loki has been an established antagonist long before Dr. Strange’s reign as Supreme began.
Before they ever met, Dr. Strange was still adjusting to life as a part-time Avenger, and life as a full-time sorcerer. So as a new sorcerer and superhero, he was unaware of the threat Loki posed. So it was Loki who was the first to have his interest pique about the other.
Loki knew Dr. Strange was a novice sorcerer. But he also knew, due to the doctor’s growing popularity among the magic community, that he was also a force to be reckoned with. Worst of all, Dr. Strange was a powerful force and a human! It infuriated Loki that humans have come such a long way so fast in the ways of science and magic. They were finite creatures and yet their perseverance was only supported by their stubbornness and their will to survive, which were two things one could easily describe Dr. Strange as.
But Loki did not take notice of Dr. Strange at first! He knew OF the Ancient One, of his battles with Dormammu and that the Ancient One was looking for an apprentice. When Dr. Strange first trained in the village, Loki didn’t pay him any mind. But when the Ancient One passed on, everyone felt that the tides were changing. Once Dr. Strange inherited the Supreme mantle; all eyes were on him, including Loki’s.
Another human as a Supreme was a direct threat to everything Loki believed in. Humans were inferior creatures. Small, dull, stupid. He hated that they could have access to such power and be loved by the Vishanti.
When Dr. Strange became a Supreme, Loki vowed to put an end to that once and for all.
How they met
Accomplishing this was going to take time. And Loki could be patient. The way he planned to attack Dr. Strange was from the inside. Or more specifically, the inside of his heart. Psychological warfare was the specific way Loki went about this.
We know Loki is a liar, so he did just that. One day, Loki showed up at the sanctum doors and introduced himself. He simply explained to the doctor that he was a sorcerer from a far away land and he came to share his knowledge with the newly appointed Supreme. We know Dr. Strange loves learning, so there was no way he said no to Loki!
So it begins
Loki put on a face. He was nice, polite and compliant. He simply did just share all that he knew of Asgard’s magic. And as he built trust with Stephen, he learned a bit about earth’s magical defenses as well (mostly by piecing together the clue’s Stephen would throw his way).
Since Loki was not from Earth, Stephen provided him with room and board during Loki’s stay. Loki put up such a front that he even fooled Wong!
Defeating the sorcerer was one thing, but the sanctum itself was a gold mine! During his stay there, Loki also planned on taking a few magical items of his own. Besides, what’s a human going to do with all of this treasure? Stephen was just hoarding all of these items anyway.
To accomplish this, Loki became a very pleasant guest. Stephen still had some walls he needed to break down, so Wong was Loki’s next best target. He helped Wong around the sanctum, pushing his charm on the servant as he inquired about the types of defenses the sanctum uses and what items are hidden behind locked doors. Loki was very good about his charm so Wong half-joked about the things he could discuss, but Loki was able to piece those clues together too.
As we know, Stephen admires intelligent people. Loki was great at sparking discussion, inquiring about unique things, and growing his own knowledge. Stephen could really appreciate what Loki brought to the table. As they spent days on end with each other, Loki was eventually wearing him down. Somewhere along the line, some part of Stephen’s defenses were lowered, and Loki’s sneaky, stealthy self slithered on through. The next stage of Loki’s plan could finally be executed.
Humans are very emotional creatures. They find attachment very easily, even for a stubborn, arrogant man like Dr. Strange. Loki’s refreshing kindness was a breath of fresh air for Stephen. Stephen definitely needed such a companion after going through his consistent issues with Azazel. Stephen and Azazel recently had a very huge break up, so the cooldown was still on it's timer. Loki’s presence was very healing for Stephen, and Stephen appreciated him a lot.
Loki had been watching Stephen for a very long time, so he knew about all these issues he was having. Sure, there was Stephen’s history of failed romances, but Stephen was also dealing with the trauma of his accident, and everything else that followed. Loki did his research, and now he was going to apply that knowledge in the field.
Loki found that getting to Stephen’s bed was easier than getting to his heart. It was quicker, and created faster results. Tapping into a human’s emotional state was a great first way to get into their heart. Stephen became enchanted with Loki after their first night together. Stephen had been hurt too many times in the past, so his vulnerability was easier to attack these days.
The first night was the first of many intimate moments. Loki had also done research on human courting traditions, so he surprised Stephen by asking him out on dates. Loki was moving in pretty fast. He knew that humans valued physical touch just as much, so he held his hand, admired his scars, and soon after, told him he loved Stephen.
I mentioned before that Stephen became enchanted with Loki after their first time together. Well, that’s pretty much true. You know how you’re amazed by someone you just met because they seem unbelievably awesome, well Stephen was still riding on that high. Loki was the perfect partner.
So when Loki told Stephen that he loved him, Stephen didn’t even bat an eye. It was all good for him! This was exactly what Stephen needed. But it was the kind of need that Loki led him to believe he needed.
Loki is a liar. He’s very very good at what he does and that’s why we refer to him as the God of Lies! Leading up to his love confession, Loki lead Stephen on with his honeycombed words, lulling him into a false sense of security.
Loki had put Stephen on cloud nine, and had wrapped the sorcerer around his middle finger. Getting the sorcerer to fall in love with him was great, but at the same time, he got to learn even more trade secrets! So far, this was a complete win-win for Loki! But now it was time to defeat him. Loki had spent a few weeks developing this tasteless relationship with a human, and it was almost time for him to move on.
I should also quickly mention that Loki had been hiding out of earshot whenever Wanda, or any other Avenger related character came by to meet with Stephen. They would surely recognize Loki’s face, or even sense that he was using magic to cover up the real him. Stephen was fairly close with characters like Kurt, Wanda etc (read relationship background here), but he wasn’t sharing his business too much with them after they went off about his relationship with Azazel.
Anyway, now that Stephen and Loki were in an official romantic relationship, there was one secret that Stephen had to tell Loki about. Stephen was in the process of exploring his gender, where he was at the point of medically transitioning to become a woman! Stephen was still exploring his options, so he brought this up to Loki to see what he had to say about this.
Learning about this was very surprising to Loki! Loki had no idea gender identity was something that humans cared so much about, less that Stephen knew anything about it. Loki did have to admit that he did feel something about Stephen that was different among other humans of his kind, but he didn’t know it would be something like this.
Gender, to Loki, specifically isn’t something he’s too big about. Male, female, whatever, Loki is Loki. In fact, the division of genders among the human race is something Loki always thought was so trivial. So when Stephen brought up “pronouns” and “transgender” and “transitioning”, he had to scoff. Stephen was a magician! A very powerful sorcerer! He could do and become whatever he wanted! So they did just that. Loki taught Stephen a very powerful shapeshifting spell (similar to the one he uses, but safe enough for humans) to try out life in a woman’s body! Mastering this spell took a few days, but once Stephen was able to perform it successfully, it was a huge relief—but with disappointing results.
Stephen didn’t like his body.
5 seconds into the transformation, Stephen felt into his very soul that he hated his body more than he did before. This didn’t feel right at all. But Loki, the ever trusting-loyal companion, rushed to his lover’s side and comforted him. Loki’s pride as a shapeshifter was at stake, and while he didn’t actually like Stephen, this was a good time to lecture an ignorant human on his possibilities. He told Stephen to at least try living life in this body for one day. So he did. And the morning after, Stephen made Loki wake up nice and early, and help him change his body back.
That day’s experience led Stephen to believe that becoming a woman was not the way to go. But if he was not meant to be a woman, then why did he feel such a close attachment to womanhood? What were his next steps?
Loki was able to live life as whatever he wanted, perhaps he could take inspiration from Loki? Some sort of.. gender….fluid identity could be the next step for him? But the thought of that made him even more dysphoric.
This new realization put Stephen into a great depression. He found more about himself once learning that there were more gender options out there for him, but once he got a real taste of it, he didn’t want it. So now, he was in an identity crisis. And Stephen hated himself for it.
Stephen’s self hate and body dysphoria were at an all time high. So he threw himself into his work, ignoring his training with Wanda, dates with Loki, hang outs with Wong, and everything else.
But for Loki, this was a great chance to deal the final blow!
Humans are such emotional creatures, and Loki couldn’t have expected such a better time to stab the wound that he didn’t even need to inflict in the first place. This was a great time to jab at Stephen’s vulnerability, and believe me, Loki did not waste any time!
Like Quentin Beck once did towards the end of his relationship with Stephen, Loki too started to attack Stephen’s weaknesses, but it was more clever than that. For example, Stephen has several medical and mental issues, mostly created due to his attachment to magic. To heal this, Stephen has to take a regular amount of pills during the day. When they first started dating, Loki seriously thought Stephen was some kind of addict because he took so many pills. But Wong explained to him that it was because of Stephen’s health. Wong does plan to have Stephen take less pills per day, but for right now, the current amount is the best option for him. Nevertheless, the pill thing was just one of many ways Loki got to Stephen.
Loki did this by suggesting he underdose or overdose from time to time. He had a way with words that would get Stephen to think that this was the best option for him. Tactics like this eventually made Stephen physically sick and he would be bedridden for days.
Loki also had a strong influence on his mental state. Loki noticed how heavily active Stephen became in the mutant community, so he would made side comments suggesting what terrible things could happen to Wanda or Kurt if they ever got hurt out in the field.
He also made constant jabs at his depression. Even going so far as bringing up his accident.
Loki also studied Stephen when he slept. He could read Stephen pretty well when he was sleeping, or.. tried to sleep. Loki knew Stephen was constantly getting harassed by Nightmare, and stopping that assault was none of his business. Loki tapped into the kinds of dreams Nightmare put into Stephen’s head and used that against Stephen. Learning that Loki knew about his nightmares terrified Stephen, he didn’t know anyone could do such a thing.
Stephen was very slow to realize what Loki had been doing to him. Much slower than when Quentin Beck did the same thing. At first, since he was severely depressed and let the hurt come to him, he let Loki say and do whatever. But after a few days he had enough. Stephen was getting some of his physical strength back and pushed Loki out.
After doing some quick research on Loki’s true affiliation with Asgard, he had to end their relationship once and for all. Stephen threw Loki out of his house (which resulted in a big magical fight), refortified the sanctum with new defenses, and locked up all the magical artifacts that Wong said Loki had his eyes on. To give himself more personal protection, Stephen discovered a magical restraining order which was a guarantee block against powerful magical creatures such as Loki.
Where are they now?
His relationship with Loki is an extremely touchy topic. Wanda and Kurt eventually found out what had transpired between Stephen and Loki and they were infuriated at both of them. Wanda was more so angry at Loki and Kurt (who didn’t exactly know who or what Loki was) was angry at both of them. Kurt knew Stephen’s romantic background and the types of creatures Stephen hooked up with to distract himself from the pain. He also knew that Stephen had an on and off relationship with his father, Azazel. After hearing about Loki’s background as a notorious foe of the Avengers from Wanda and Wong, his heart grew very heavy for Stephen and he soon forgave him. Wanda was also angry at herself for not seeing the signs. It was a regular thing for Stephen to get depressed and ignore her phone calls, but she didn’t know Loki was behind it. She hated that she wasn’t able to figure it out for herself much sooner.
When Stephen became a closer teammate and friend to some Avengers, Thor and Iron Man learned about what Loki had done too. Thor was of course, angry, and went back to Asgard for a bit to find his brother. He was horrified to learn that his brother would hurt such a good man in such a way. Thor did apologize to Stephen for what his brother had done, but they both knew his apology meant nothing. From then on, Thor became a bit overprotective of Stephen, even if if future issues didn’t have to do with Loki.
When Stephen was dating Quentin Beck, Quentin did similar things that Loki had, but not to this degree. Since it was the first time Stephen had faced such a high level assault from a romantic partner, he can definitely categorize Loki as an abuser.
Like Quentin, Loki’s breakup with Stephen was quite a shocker to Loki because it happened so suddenly. Having Stephen push through his assault and become the victor infuriated Loki to the point where he became absolutely obsessed with him. So.. Loki became a toxic ex. Loki still wants to get inside Stephen’s head and rot him from the inside out, but so far he hasn’t been so lucky.
Wong was the one to help Stephen find a magical restraining order. The restraining order Stephen placed on Loki has been refortified several times over the years. It’s not perfect, and can be broken overtime.
Stephen is still healing from the assault Loki gave him. A part of Loki still has such a grasp on Stephen’s mind that whenever they meet in person, Stephen shivers. One day Loki hopes to break down that seal.
At the same time Loki still wants Stephen to go down as Sorcerer Supreme because of course he still believes humans don’t deserve such a title.
As usual if there is anything that was unclear in this analysis that you would like me to expand upon I can edit this post or I can create a separate one if you send in an ask. Asks of course, are recommended for this type of thing. My DMs are also open for further questions.

The different types of magic in Marvel’s universe
Over the years, some people have asked me if magic has different types in Marvel universe. Are they all the same? Do they have the same origin? Can users learn more than one kind?
Thinking about those questions, I’ve decided to put together a list of the most popular types of magic in Marvel’s comic books.
Before we start, yes. There are different types of magic in Marvel. Usually, they differ in their origins and powers. But if a sorcerer excels at one type, it doesn’t mean they’re not allowed to perform other types. On a separate note, I’m just considering the most popular types, having in mind that they’re popular because of their users.
Magic Deities
Tumblr media
This is the most popular type of magic, mostly because it was founded by Agamotto, Earth’s first Sorcerer Supreme. It’s also the type used by the Ancient One and, consequently, by Doctor Strange. The user borrows magic from certain magic deities, each one of them having a specific ability or power. For instance, Ikonn is the deity of illusions, thus the spell “Images of Ikonn”. Usually, it comes with a cost, but it’s very powerful and effective. Other users include Stephen’s former apprentices, such as Clea, Magik, Doctor Doom, as well as Genghis, Hamir and Mordo.
Chaos Magic
Tumblr media
A type of magic that is intrinsically linked to Chthon, an Elder God that once used it to become Earth’s ruler. This magic can manipulate, warp and reconstruct the fabric of existence and reality. It’s very powerful and dangerous. Despite the inconsistencies, Scarlet Witch is also deeply connected to Chaos Magic, becoming its most prominent user.
Witchcraft
Tumblr media
Witchcraft is actually an entity as well, except she serves as a source of power for witches, warlocks and wizards who perform a very specific branch of magic known as, well, witchcraft. Its own characteristics are not specified, but it’s belived to be connected to the forces of nature. There are powerful users of witchcraft, such as Agatha Harkness, Scarlet Witch, Natalya Maximoff, Cynthia von Doom and Jennifer Kale.
Demonology
Tumblr media
Following Dante’s example, Hell in Marvel’s multiverse is complex. There are several planes of existence considered hellish dimensions, such as Mephisto’s realm, Limbo, Niffleheim, Below-place, Brimstone Dimension, Hades and even the Dark Dimension. Those who excel at the art of controlling demons and demonic entities, as well as performing exorcisms and summons, are users of this kind of magic. Magik, Hellstrom and Satana are its most powerful users, but some people are also connected to hellish entities by accident, for instance, the Ghost Riders.
Shamanism (Sarcee Sorcery branch)
Tumblr media
It’s a nature-based magic, in this case, developed by the Sarcee people. It allows the user to see and communicate with spirits, control elemental magic, commune with animals and use totems as artifacts. Its most prominent users are Shaman and Talisman.
Voodoo
Tumblr media
Voodoo is an entire branch of magic related to the nature-gods and their Haitian spirits known as Loa. The user can manipulate elemental magic, as well as commune with spirits and have some control over the dead. Doctor Voodoo is the Houngan Supreme, but he was also taught in the arts of the Voodoo by his brother Daniel Drumm and Papa Jambo.
Druidism
Tumblr media
It’s a magic based on ancient rituals practiced by Celtic and Druid ancestors. It’s also linked to nature, but it’s limited to its rituals. Doctor Druid is the most famous user of this kind of magic.
Asgardian Magic
Tumblr media
It’s a very specific branch of magic based on Asgardian and Norse mythology. It’s linked to their gods, especially Odin, but he’s also submitted to it. Karnilla and old!Loki are the most powerful Asgardians sorcerers, followed by Enchantress, Lorelei and Ikol!Loki.
Minor branches of magic
Tumblr media
The mystic city of K'un-lun also shares a specific kind of magic, related to Oriental mythology and belief, as well as some mystics and artificats connected to it. There’s also the power of the Demiurge, manifested through Wiccan, although it’s not clear whether his power comes from a mutant gene or it’s purely related to Wanda’s and the Demiurge’s influences. Some artifacts assist users in performing magic, such as Nico Minoru’s Staff of One. Lastly, magic also exists in supernatural creatures and deities in a smaller portion, to name a few: Dracula, Werewolf by Night, Man-Thing, the Living Mummy, Elsa Bloodstone, Moon Knight and Khonshu, Iron Fist and more.
Feel free to add more characters or details to this list. I hope this post has enlightened you concerning the different types of magic in Marvel!

It looks a lot like an English countryside on Earth but the people of this land are less advanced. (The Haunted Traveller)
“Is he in there?” (Deserved)
Gawd, listing this many has gone back so long ago. So, it looks like I’m very fond of starting off fics with a line of dialogue. My usual go-to is to have some sort of a teaser before then explaining what’s happened to lead up to the present. Most of the fics involving Loki are from someone else’s perspective. For me, he works better that way, especially as an antagonist or love interest. It’s good for the more dubconnish stories as it’s much more comfortable to be inside the head of the hero so that the reader knows what they’re enjoying rather than being forced to sit in the mind of a villain inflicting something. Keeping Loki more of a mystery allows him to play the trickster and for the reader to enjoy a particular sexy concept of him. It depends what you want to explore, really. When it comes to porn with very little plot, enigmatic Loki works well.
Strangefrost especially seems to start with dialogue as half the fun is in the bickering.
I suppose out of all these lines, my favourite is probably the start of Reward, no matter how much of a self-indulgent fix-it the fic was. I like how it establishes the threat of the moment and its urgency sort of heralds the fact that the fic really is just a short scene.
I was indirectly tagged by @aurorawest from whom I pinched this.
I’d like to tag @lavenderism for whenever she’s ready :P and any other followers who write fic.

Argh, I know, I shouldn't be greedy, but I just love a good whump fic and I love Strangefrost and I love your writing... so, might I humbly ask for another?? Maybe?? For the - I don't know - the digestive system maybe?
Here ya go! This one's a bit longer, it kinda got away from me. 😅
A Fool For You
It began with a relic gone missing. A sword forged in blood and tears, the sword was said to have been used to lop off the head of a tyrannical emperor after he had used it to slaughter his own brothers, all six of them.
It was a dangerous katana that required a calming ritual at every turn of the century to temper its blade, for it could turn the susceptible, the most innocent into murderous monsters.
Stephen had been lucky to escape unharmed that morning when he awoke to the blade pressed against his throat, wielded by an invisible hand, controlled by long-range magic.
Stephen had been lucky Loki was there to banish the spectral intruder and restore the katana to its resting place in the Sanctum vault under lock and key.
Reading the blade that had almost taken his human from him only led them back to Kamar-Taj, but the trail ended there.
There was a traitor in their midst.
"Nothing's going to happen to me."
Or so Stephen kept insisting.
Loki was no fool. It would take more than vapid assurances to assuage this urge in him to tear whoever dared harm a hair on Stephen's head limb from limb.
Wong thought it could be a Zealot who might have escaped from having to join Kaecilius on his eternal journey to be one with the Dark Lord Dormammu.
Stephen made a sound argument of the low probability, seeing how the Dark Dimension was as good as sealed forever with the Book of Cagliostro gone, but Loki had disguised himself as one of them that very night and searched each and every Master, fellow and apprentice for the telltale mark on the forehead.
If someone cared for his opinion, Loki thought Stephen was being too complacent with his life.
"Loki, I am not going to lock myself up in the Mirror Dimension!"
Stephen had the gall to laugh at Loki's suggestion. For that, Loki did not speak to him for an entire day.
As the night grew closer, Stephen had given up trying to apologise for something he did not believe he did wrong and resigned himself to the idea of attending the communal dinner at Kamar-Taj without his plus one. Sorcerer Supremes had traditionally been lonesome creatures, and initially Stephen even thought of himself as such.
Until he met Loki.
Stephen abhorred gossip. If the Sorcerer Supreme and the (reformed) God of Mischief were indeed an item, he would rather come clean about it than suffer salacious stories being passed around behind his back.
But since Loki was a no-show, Stephen was going to suffer them for one more day, until he could figure out what to do...or what not to do. When it came to Loki, abstaining was just as important.
So that was how Stephen had come to sit at the head of the table, flanked by a representative from the other two Sanctums. Wong had drawn the short straw by virtue of his being Stephen's second-in-command and sadly had to stay behind in New York.
A young man barely out of his teens came to the high table with a set of tea.
“A new apprentice. I recruited him from the streets of Kowloon City,” Master Murata murmured in the Sorcerer Supreme’s ear. “I think he’s got potential.”
Stephen looked at the scabies burrows in the webs between the boy’s fingers, the badly damaged nails from a chronic nail-biting problem superimposed with a fungal infection.
Must have been homeless, he deduced. Family problems? A runaway?
Stephen watched as the boy poured a pinkish golden liquid into the three cups in front of them. It glittered with edible gold petals.
“Sour plum tea,” Master Murata nodded in approval. He held up his cup, “Here’s to our Sorcerer Supreme. May you live in interesting times.”
If the wording sounded odd, it could only be due to the Guardian of the Hong Kong Sanctum’s oriental heritage.
Stephen surreptitiously waited for both Guardians to finish drinking first before raising his own cup to his lips to take his first sip.
"Sorcerer Supreme, there you are!"
"Wong?" Stephen's forehead furrowed at the sight of his friend marching down the dais toward him. "What are you doing here?"
Wong grabbed the cup out of the Sorcerer Supreme's hand and drank it all in one gulp.
"That hit the spot," he declared, delicately fingering the corners of his lips.
"M-Master Wong," Master Murata stammered.
"What's gotten into you?" Stephen muttered. He held out the empty cup for a refill, but Wong quickly grabbed his wrist. "Wong!"
The apprentice scurried away with the tray; Wong followed the retreating form with his eyes until the boy disappeared amongst the dinner crowd.
With a wide smile Stephen had never seen the likes of it on Wong’s face before, his best friend boldly grabbed him around the wrist and yanked him out of his seat. "This is simply no time to be drinking! Come, I have much to tell you!"
"It's just tea," Stephen grumbled, more curious than embarrassed at being manhandled in public.
Just as they passed a few Masters in the hall, Wong stumbled and would have fallen had Stephen not caught his friend.
“Really, Wong, one would think you had been imbibing…” Stephen's voice trailed off at the sight of perspiration dotting his friend's forehead. “Wong?”
“Take me to your room,” Wong grunted, and Stephen froze, for Wong’s voice suddenly sounded so much like -
“Loki?”
In the blink on an eye, Stephen teleported them to his room and Wong slowly sank to his knees with a soft, forlorn sigh; his form shimmered as all manner of glamour dropped, revealing Loki's shaking form.
At the tell-tale shudder, Stephen quickly grabbed a trash can from under his desk and shoved it under Loki's head just in time to catch the first of his stomach contents.
"Poison?"
Loki nodded frantically as another wave of extreme nausea surged up his gullet.
"But how? We were all drinking the same thing!" Stephen demanded.
“It wasn't the tea,” Loki gasped. “It was the cup.”
"If you knew it was poisoned, why couldn't you have just told me? Why did you have to drink it?" Stephen berated.
"Now you have evidence," Loki managed in between gasps. "Somebody was trying to kill you."
Loki lashed out a hand which his lover caught unthinkingly; into Stephen's palm Loki pressed the ceramic cup he had drunk from.
"It's the lacquer," he wheezed; the pain raging in his stomach was making it difficult to breathe. "It...reacted with the gold leaf. Turned the tea."
Stephen stared at the object in his hand. True enough, the urushiol lacquer had corroded away, leaving behind a suspicious white deposit that had formed a sediment at the bottom of the cup.
Loki had done it all on purpose...impersonating Wong, stealing Stephen's drink right under his nose and making sure everyone saw him drink out of the Sorcerer Supreme's cup -
And stumbling in the hallway with witnesses around had been in part an act, the rest of it very, very real...as real as the blood dribbling down Loki’s chin as his body tried to purge the poison. He heaved and heaved uncontrollably into the trash can, his long hair limp and matted to his scalp like a crown of thorns.
But before Stephen could hold his hair back for him, another violent cramp folded Loki in half, his desperate cry of the kind Stephen had never heard out of the God of Mischief before.
"Oh, Loki…" Stephen could not help but moan. "Why must you always do this?"
Loki shuddered and wiped the blood away with the back of his hand. He slowly sank to the floor, prostrating on the tatami mat, arms wrapped tightly around his stomach.
"I'll live," he sighed. "You wouldn't have."
Stephen leveled his writhing lover with a frosty look. "What made you think I could live with this on my conscience?"
Loki's eyes fluttered to a close. "As long as you lived, I don't particularly care."
Stephen heaved a sigh of frustration and sickening anxiety. "What can I do?"
"Hang the perpetrators by their entrails, that would be a start," Loki groaned. He curled up as tightly as his cramping muscles would allow. "Norns!"
Stephen rummaged through his apothecary cabinet and waved potion after potion of possible remedial value, only for every jar to be waved away.
"I've purged it all." Loki bared teeth slick with blood in a grotesque grimace as he tried to breathe through the worst of the cramps. "It's just the sequelae now."
Tears sprang to Stephen's eyes as he dropped onto his knees next to his ill lover. "You are such a fool."
Loki chuckled weakly. "Ah yes, that I am. A fool for you."
A furious tear escaped and made its way down Stephen's cheek. He gathered Loki's long limbs in his arms and lifted the trembling figure gently into his lap, holding him upright. "I'm such a fool."
"Stephen, don't." Utterly exhausted, Loki could do no more than squeeze the protective arm around his neck. "I'm alright. Truly."
"I will find whoever did this," he heard Stephen vow in his ear and the tension drained out of Loki's body like water.
"Good," Loki hummed faintly.
If putting himself in jeopardy was what it took to get Stephen to give a damn about his own life...then Loki had no objection whatsoever. Nor had he any objection to the comfortable weight of Stephen's hand on his aching belly, or to the healing magic furious at work, aiding the repair of any internal damage caused by the poison.
"I am going to sleep now," Loki murmured, sagging in Stephen's embrace like a sack of bones.
As Loki drifted off into a restorative slumber, he could hear Stephen mumble something in his ear. It sounded a lot like 'I love you', but Loki could not be sure.
Stephen was just going to have to say it again when next he awakened.

Versace On The Floor
"Loki, you can't wear that to Kamar-Taj, we have a dress code!"
"No. You simply do not like the thought of me upstaging you," Loki sneered. "The Sorcerer Supreme."
"On the contrary. You will be my guest, all eyes will be on you."
"You've got your cape, what's wrong with me wearing mine?" Loki whined. "You said I looked good in it."
"For the last time, it's not a cape. It's a Cloak," Stephen growled.
"I wager I look good in it too."
Stephen tugged Levi possessively around him, Levi...not so much.
"Stop leering," he grumbled at the sentient relic.
Loki laughed out loud. "See?"
"Yeah, never gonna happen."
Whenever Loki smelled a challenge, his entire demeanour took on a serpentine quality, from the slant of his eyes down to the twist of his coquettish smile.
He cocked his head. "Never?"
Stephen shook his head stubbornly. "Never."
"Never, eh?" We'll see.

**********************

Later that night at Kamar-Taj,
"Join me in welcoming the newest addition to our family in the fight against evil and evil things…Loki!"
Wong delivered his introductiom with a pained look on his face, but the flourish of his hand was enthusiastic, at the very least.
Stephen guffawed silently. "Just Loki?"
"Too many titles, I didn't bother," Wong whispered back. "Besides, how many Lokis do you know?"
"True." Stephen was about to say something scandalous while the crowd was still clapping and his lover out of earshot when all the words suddenly left him.
The swagger with which Loki was sashaying down the aisle was nothing new.
His nakedness was.
Strangely, the Masters of the Mystic Arts scattered all around the tiny hall seemed unperturbed.
Stephen did not realise he was staring until he felt a wetness on his thigh. In his state of shock, his cup had fallen out of his hand and he had spilled tea all over himself.
"Oh dear," Loki teased as he joined him at the high table. "What a right mess you've made of yourself."
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Stephen hissed.
"Why…" Loki held out a cup to a few apprentices who were stumbling over their feet to be the first to serve him. "Having dinner with you and your lovely servants of course."
Loki leaned back in his chair, revealing every inch of his long, lithe body, leaving nothing to the imagination.
Stephen gritted his teeth. "We have a dress code."
"So you keep saying," Loki murmured, as he gave a nod here, a friendly wave there. "I care for it not one damn bit," he said merrily.
"Are you alright, Stephen?" Wong asked curiously from where he was seated on Stephen's other side. "You're looking very red. Hey, Loki."
"Hey, Wong. Enjoying yourself?"
"If I have to," Wong sighed. "The tea's subpar."
"The tea," Stephen echoed incredulously, "The tea?"
"You're being quite repetitive there, Sorcerer Supreme," Loki said seriously. "Nervous about your speech?"
Stephen watched in trepidation as people started to swarm around the table.
"The God of Mischief, in the flesh!"
"You are even more beautiful in person!"
"The tabloid pictures don't do you justice at all!"
"They never do," Loki said, with a mischievous wink and a twinkle in his eye.
Can't you people see? Stephen hollered inside.
Wait.
They can't, he finally realised.
Loki must be wearing a glamour, appearing clothed to everybody else, but ravishing in all his naked glory to Stephen, and Stephen alone.
No, not just Stephen. The Cloak of Levitation was fidgeting too, like curtains set on fire.
"Okay, Loki, you win."
"What's that now?" Loki raised an elegant eyebrow. "I didn't catch that, sorry."
He ran a lazy hand down the most toned torso Stephen had ever seen outside a magazine. "It's a bit cold tonight, isn't it?"
With his other hand, he spilled his hot tea all over himself. "Oops."
"Let me help you with that, Loki," the Guardian of the London Sanctum reached across the table with a napkin.
Stephen caught the Master's hand before it could travel any further down Loki's lap; it had wandered far enough. "That's...fine, Master Morozova."
With a tired sigh, he relented. "Levi."
The Cloak of Levitation flew off Stephen's shoulders and draped itself over Loki's body, protecting his modesty at last.
With an exaggerated gasp, Loki pulled the Cloak, the ultimate war prize, tighter around his bare shoulders.
"Why, thank you, Doctor Strange!" He gave the growing crowd an innocent smile, "He's such a gentleman, isn't he?"
A chorus erupted, some agreeing, most fawning.
"Red's a good colour on you, Your Highness!"
"The Cloak of Levitation is a very fickle thing, you really are a chosen one!"
"You hear that, Stephen?" Loki whispered. "I'm the chosen one."
"Yes. Yes, you are."
Loki's smile froze as the Mirror Dimension crackled to life around them in a kaleidoscope of colours.
"Stephen, what are you doi - "
There was only so much self-control Stephen could muster for one night, for Loki did look good in his clothes.
But then again, Stephen knew that, and he was going to have a helluva lot of fun taking them off.
He grabbed the back of Loki's neck.
"Someone needs to dry you off," he murmured, opening his act by kissing one corner of Loki's painted lips. "You win."
"You let me win."
"You let me let you win." After a beat, "What does that even mean?"
"Just shut up and dry me, Strange."
"As you wish, Highness."
