I am no immune to sapphic creature propaganda AND I like aspec Spearmaster (Demi Romantic Ace)

I was also mostly contemplating how to handle LttM and FP in this au and landed on “Hunter had already delivered the neuron but had a lil more cycles than in game. Met Spearmaster on her way back and saving its life so they go to their iterators together. Spearmaster learns potential friend has illness and doesn’t like that it won’t be cured so goes back out with them to find a cure.” and ended up loving them being a queer platonic couple.

It’s more of an ‘endgame’ kinda deal because Artificer needs to go through some development and therapy - but again. Not immune to murder sapphics.

I think Adaine has had such a glow up since Freshman year like she got out of a bad home situation, she got actual parental support, she got her own clothes, she got anxiety meds (and I’m assuming therapy) and she’s got ride or die friends; she has Ayda a powerful wizard regard her as a best friend and equal, she’s an absolute badass who has saved the world 3 times and punched her dad so hard he died. And I think all of this has translated into her confidence improving (like her response to Kipperlilly saying “I know who you are” is “of course you do”). And I think it all results in her schoolmates finding her super attractive but her being completely uninterested in them, which only makes them more obsessed. Basically, if Adaine showed the slightest hint that she wanted to date, she’d have boys, girls and enbies lining up around the block but she doesn’t so like I guess it sucks to be everyone at school.

so kickass together that after a few brutal games of capture the flag, mr. d and chiron made the excutive decision that the ares and thanatos were no longer allowed to team up together

but before that, these two wreaked havoc on anyone who stood between them and that damn flag.

they didn't even waste time trying to come up with any other strategy than 'rip them to shreds'

big time enemies within the apollo cabin were as they were quite literally overflowing the infirmary.

will cried when mr. d and chiron announced that cabins were being broken up

tears of joy, rest assured

even the new campers knew to steer clear of the two, even if they were just casually walking around camp

they just had an ominous vibe to them that scream 'i could kill you and not think twice about it.'

it also didn't help that the veteran campers physical steered them away too.

"who are those two? they look-"

"don't make eye contact!! it's like youre looking for a reason to get your butt kicked. those two...they're the most badass fighters you'll ever meet. but also the meanest of the mean. keep your head hung and your eyes on the ground if you'd like to see tomorrow."

what they don't know, though, is that you and clarrise get along just like any other pair of teens.

heyheyhey idk if u know how cool and important it is to have a badass assassin story with something other than cis gays and have it be Not a Big Deal but,,, it’s literally one of the first legit published books I’ve ever found like it?? And in a genre that I love??? And written well?? And genuinely funny as fuck?? Idk I’ve never seen an enby that gets to exist without it being A Tragic Plot Point or something To Overcome so thank u??? Like so much???? I can’t tell u how much???? I definitely didn’t cry at all about it nope not even once

:DDDDDD omg, my heart started pumping faster when I saw this ask. I am always so giddy when people talk to me about my books, especially the specifics about characters and tone and things they liked!

Yeah, I wanted to include every goddamn color in the pride flag!!

Pansexual/ bisexual assassins, nonbinary demons, a transgender assassin, an unrealistic number of gay and lesbian demon summoners! That's my fantasy world. It's not talked about, because it's simply normal.

Irvine in particular I adore because I am nonbinary myself, but also because they are just so powerful, and they don't even know just how much yet!

I always disliked how many nonbinary characters in fantasy and sci fi are just token "they/them" body guards, robotic or asexual leaning non-humans, or quiet, unassuming love interests who only exist to show a character is pansexual or something.

Irvine was my love letter to my own identity because I thought hey what if there was a nonbinary character who just fucks shit up, every time they appear? What if there was an enby who just kicks ass and is sexily never showing their face, and wears a badass hood all the time?

And then Irvine was born. My little storm demon :)

So glad you find it unique too! I honestly was feeling so badly about it, after months of querying and beta swapping, and getting feedback from dozens of people who only found things to criticize as being too strange or too different or stylistically confusing.

I went through a year of being told it wasn't good, and-and I'm a little emotional and overcome with appreciation and gratitude to all the people who not only bought or downloaded the book while it was free, but who also actually read the whole thing, and found it GOOD.

in between the angst and the action and the blood-filled fist fighting and crazy sniper/melee battles, there is a lot of dark comedy!

I love dark comedy. I love satire.

As much as I love being edgy, I think a story without any humor at all is unbearable.

I want you to hurt with my characters...but you should also laugh with them! Laugh at them! Be amused by their stupidity...or by their cleverness.

Be charmed by their vulnerability, but also their insane, abnormal, bizarre points of view!

That is exactly what I want every story of mine to be.

I am horrified at the amount of TERFS on this site who actually HATE men. Tags like "men are the worst", "it's okay to hate men", "men dont deserve anything", and "all men are the problem" are tags that actually exist.

I am a transmasc AFAB they/them nonbinary ace lesbian.

I fucking hate these TERFS.

I literally have so many men in my life that I love. My grandpa, my uncle, my cousins. The random guy who headpats me everytime he sees me. Always makes me smile. My badass teacher. And of course, all of my male fictional blorbos.

Do these fuckers not understand that hating men literally makes them no better than the misogynists of the sixteen-hundreds? All they are doing is reversing the genders.

Men are awesome. Platonically, I think that they are easier to get along with then women. My school bros do not be judgemental. They give me fistbumps and smile at me and know what my ace pride pin means without making a big deal out of it in front of others.

If I ever came out as nonbinary to anyone besides my grandparents, it would be to one of my male schoolmates. Again, they are my bros.

Men are awesome. If you think that I am a misogynist for saying that, then you are "probably" a TERF. Fuck off. Take one look at my school bros and tell me that you still hate men. I dare you. Stop believing in stupid stereotypes like TERFS do and respect men.

And women.

And enbies.

And any other gender.

Do not be a misandrist. Love men. They are humans, too, you know, and they deserve love and respect, you know, as humans. Because people of any gender are still lovable humans.

re: the name-choosing post -

i'm a black enby trans guy and my name came together slowly over time.

when i first came out a few years ago, i used a masculine version of my deadname, but around the time i started testosterone, i found a name completely at random that i really liked and decided to use that.

i was originally going to use my chosen name as a middle name, like Deadname Chosen-name Lastname, but the longer I've been out as trans, the less my deadname has fit me. my family has also been really upset about it because i was named after one of my great-great grandmothers.

and then i realized that my great-great grandfather literally fought the kkk to protect his wife & kids, and i’ve always thought he was a badass, so i’m adopting his surname as my chosen middle name. Chosen-name Badass-name Lastname.

the best part is that the badass’s wife was the woman i was originally named after. everyone wins!

Finding cool family members to take a name from is a great way to go about it! Your grandfather sounds like a super interesting person!

Arcana Headcanon: M6's favorite Disney Princesses

(Because I just discovered that Dorian naturally got this very wrong and I am irritated about it. Put under the cut because explaining my thoughts got long.)

Muriel- Snow White

Actually canon as declared by the OG devs. And this fits really well! Friend to All Animals, hiding out in the woods thanks to a vain villain... absolutely works.

Asra- Jasmine

This enby is streetwise, constantly outwits his enemies instead of defeating them with brute strength, has a truly kind heart despite rumors that surround the persona he presents to others (diamond in the rough, anyone?), loves going out to see the world, has plenty of magical companions... yeah, Asra is absolutely Aladdin. So how can his favorite princess be anyone but Jasmine? (Also you cannot tell me that Asra hasn't canonically pulled the "do you trust me?" bit at one point. Or that he never wanted to take his Apprentice on a magic carpet ride).

(I saw a comment on the original about relating to Mulan as a nonbinary person, and I love that! So valid! This headcanon is not meant to counter or to dismiss this in any way. I can absolutely see Asra loving the movie and appreciating Mulan as a character as well. But I cannot see her being his favorite Disney princess. More details later as well lol)

Julian - Rapunzel

Same logic as Asra. This man is Flynn Rider/Eugene Fitzherbert. Plus he'd love Rapunzel's sunny energy, and he'd be intrigued by the healing powers (not to mention the fascinating origin behind them). Plus he will absolutely serenade his love with "I See the Light."

Nadia - Merida

Nadia would be a fan of Megara, but Megara is NOT a Disney Princess.

This one was admittedly a bit tougher to pick. My first instinct went to Tiana, since Nadia would relate to her drive and the character arc of balancing work and love. Second thought was Aurora, as Nadia has often felt like the "cursed princess" archetype herself, but that could also make her hate the character, sooo...

Anyway, I settled on Merida since she's headstrong, independent, capable, and hey, Nadia can connect to the family drama. (Plus we all know she has a certain fondness for fiery redheads.)

Lucio - Mulan

TINKERBELL IS ALSO NOT A DISNEY PRINCESS SHE HAS HER OWN FRANCHISE FFS...

Lucio's the kind of guy who would buy into all those bad faith Disney takes that led to the dumb changes they made in the live action remakes. But even if it was just at the surface level of "badass warrior who basically blows up the bad guy in the end," Lucio would love Mulan.

(And I can see Asra finding out that Lucio's favorite princess was Mulan and then changing his own favorite out of spite.)

Portia - Ariel or Moana

This is the only one that I agree with. Portia would adore Ariel. But I can see her loving Moana, too. A strong warrior in her own right who does everything for her family, goes on epic sailing adventures, has TWO cute animal companions, AND has a friendship with the ocean that basically ends up as water magic? Plus she would cry over the "I know who you are" scene at the end.

Threw in the girls & Ant as well, bc i could and I genuinely wanted to. All of them could be perceived as either platonic or romantic.

Just my thoughts nothing more or less. :3 also they get noticeably shorter the further down you go lol.

— Eli; I think he'd find it cool if you were into drawing and sketching (I don't believe he'd have a favorite style, just random sketches of the most random-est of things does it for him to think you're really cool and talented). He'd absolutely loved to get a peak at the sketches, especially if he catches you sketching something. If you dare to show him a sketch of him either post Hawk or before Hawk he'd ask you if he could keep it with the sweetest of smiles. Also graffiti, absolutely would mess around with spray paint with you.

However he would be a bit meaner just for the show during S1-3 specifically with his macho show of I'm a goddamn badass pretender for the girls. He'd just be basically mean for the laughs but swear he'd also be sweet as fuck to you afterwards and making up for his behaviour. (Make him sit for a few hours and be your model, that'll do lol.) [Side note I think Hawk would be the kind of guy to think about partial nude art but never admit it.]

— Miguel; just in general this boy is fucking bashful and amazed for your skill at drawing. He'd love to breeze through your sketchbooks and ask you to draw something for him. Absolutely anything and he'd cherish it, especially if it was something of him or nature-related. I also think he'd love abstract patterns. I also think he appreciates graffiti and murals!

— Demetri; interested for sure, especially if you're into drawing fantasy characters and settings. He's a comic nerd, he'd love to see your take on some of his favored characters from comics. fanart kind of guy imo. Also if you draw him his DnD character he'd love you for eternity. Just saying :3 (I also believe that Dimitri would have artistic talent as well. Thinking about dates where y'all just geek about your interests and draw, create stories etc.) I also think that Dimitri would love to see scenery art.

— Robby; this man cannot take a pen in hand and draw himself at all imo, he seems like he's a bit lost but he'd absolutely adore your drawings. I think he'd be into scenery and a realistic type of art. For some reason I think he'd be the guy who doesn't exactly get art, but gets joy from watching someone else geek out about a specific piece and tell him about it and the history/background around the artwork. (Looking at Mona Lisa rn so hard) [side note on this guy, he'd absolutely at some point ask about nude art in general.]

— Ant; we know this guy plays DnD as well, he'd be interested in your drawings and love silly sketches especially off of characters related to his interests. Somehow thinking Anthony wouldn't get abstractical art if it didn't have fantasy-esque in it. Just video game art, absolutely.

— Moon; Personally love her character sm down to earth (not really, she seems more daydream type) and interested in crystals, chakras and energies! I think she'd be interested in symbolism within art and just be really really interested in spiritual-related artworks. Abstractical patterning that takes inspiration from a culture? Mythology related artworks? She'd absolutely eat them up and I mean gobble it all up, I also see her as someone who'd do art with you.

— Yasmin; she'd love to see what you were sketching especially if it was her, because I think she would let you just draw her up in different outfits even without asking if you could. [Personally also think she'd be interested in nude or revealing art.] She'd be your model without any further questioning, BUT be sure your up for the task to hear her whine about how long it's going to take and just be cheesy with some memes. (Koff Koff the popular french girl line.)

— Tory; now I don't think Tori's much of an art girl either, but she'd love to see your sketchbook like the others and watch you draw. However this doesn't by any means rule out graffiti, she'd be up in a second if spray paints and graffiti was mentioned imo! I also think she'd have an eye for scenery and murals artworks with abstract types of art.

— Sam; she'd love to see your sketches and artworks as well! I think Sam wouldn't inherently be that interested in art, but she'd absolutely let you rattle her ears off talking about art and such. I think she appreciates scenery art a lot and murals.

NGL I think it would be really badass if Nightshade's buddy (I feel like they would name them Fern or Gizmo, TBH) was a Dartix during the events of Missed Connection and then evolved into Decidueye more or less at the same time that Nightshade scans their alt. That would be very cool and really highlight their bond.
