Dani(elle/Ellie) is the Wandering Princess, Widespread Sights, Mirror Turned Painting, and now, most recently, Lady Gotham.

Let's explain.

Ellie has wandered much of their home dimension by now, and even with the Infinite Realms, wants to see an alternate Earth. Clockwork, the doting Grandpa he is, agrees, opening a portal. He says that she can do anything she wants, as long as she doesn't outright obliterate that version. The rest of them see her off, and in she goes.

The first thing she sees is a grave. Though she can't read it, as a woman in black could've been white, so long ago stands in front of it. The woman turns around, and she is

beautiful, shattered, solemn, joyful, mourning, celebrating, ominous, comforting, barely a newly minted town, an old weathered city, and

Tired. So tired. So much has happened, good and bad. She wants to watch her knights grow, to see them flourish. But even a sentient city cannot stay. Too much has changed from before. Too many magics. She has decks of curses, played or kept in her hand, but it is too much. She must reform.

Ellie is approached, and they talk. She's exploring, and this place seems really nice. A bit morbid, perhaps, but nice. Lady Gotham sees potential.

Over a few months they talk, and Lady Gotham gives not only the title, but the very essence of her beloved city to Ellie. She may not reform, and be dispersed. Or she will. But she wants someone to look after it. And Ellie can do that. She's seen so many people and places, understands how complicated it can be, and has a good relationship to the Reluctant King.

Ellie accepts. She's sad to see Lady Gotham go, but knows that nothing can forever. So she decides to check up on Lady Gotham's (who she now is) knights. And those two guys in the sewers. And the other with the bar and birds. And that woman in the catsuit and the assassin one too. All of them, actually. Invisibly, of course. Wouldn't want to do anything stupid.

She also got a cool new outfit! (Created by the essence of Gotham and herself, not that she knows that.) It feels so natural to have it on as she watches. The people she's watching, on the other hand, can feel it. The city's gaze.

Ellie has opinions. I mean, look at Mister Riding Hood! Dirtiest 'plasm she's seen! And the Bat! So many kids! Sewer dudes are actually pretty cool. Fun to hang out with. She's taken to using TVs supplied by Technus and Tucker that she's fed some ecto-essence into to let her watch them. And she's also had small picnics with some of the spirits residing there.

One day, as she's "birdwatching", or just going about her business, they see her. She doesn't notice.

A combination of watching mogswamps flatworld series from the start and seeing a fic on ao3 called This Isnt The Flat World by TheoSpooderBoi, which has a really cool premise and looks like it'll explore the isolation of living in a flatworld for 11 years, has got the brain microwave in overdrive.

Taking the idea that mog was alone for 11 years roughly, surviving in a flat expanse of a world and truely thinking of the implications. Like he was 15 at the start and also mans was primarily eating rotten flesh by ep 17 (thats as far as ive gotten so far, so probably farther too). It took him a good few episodes to finally make a wheat farm lol he was not eating well. Which bring up a pretty wholesome idea where the villagers started to trade him food like cookies n stuff (ep 16 or 17 i think is when he mentioned it) but ye.

With him living through the 1.3 update where villager trading became a thing, in my head thats when he started to learn how to talk with villagers (which is a concept brought up in the fic mentioned above and makes me crazy). Im so excited to get to the episode he meets wandy t lmao.

season 9 has been amazing but i’m kinda excited to be around for the beginning of a hermitcraft season, they were well into the empires crossover arc when i started watching double life (which was pretty much my introduction to mcyt in general) so this is gonna be my first time actually being around for the early game

i feel like we were sort of robbed when it came to the doctor staying at donnas house. it cut - in my mind - very much to a few days/weeks/months past. but you know that it was a rough start. the doctor Cannot stand still and even if they know they should this time it mustve taken some real getting used to, similar to 11 in power of three

like, the doctors been moved in for one day and has already rewired their house. the toaster now sings as it toasts bread and also can be used as a metal detector. the fridge beeps when you take something out of it that it was saving for later. the doctors repainted the entire house a shade darker. they give him a spare room to stay in but no one in the house ever sees him sleep

I still think about that moment in the comics where Odin hired Black Panther to kill Loki. But then how Odin gets very upset if anything happens to Loki. If BP had done it, what do you think Odin would have done?

I think about this so much.

Like, here's the context: The War of the Realms is imminent and Odin is finally realizing that he picked the wrongest possible way to deal with it. Freyja called it, and Loki sided with her when she rebelled against Odin over it, and then he (apparently) defected to the enemy, then he (apparently) tried to kill Freyja and nearly succeeded. Odin is going through some shit and once again, much of it is Loki's fault. So it's not that shocking that he'd want something done about Loki, and let's be real: for Asgardians, killing them is just making them go somewhere. To a god, death is a prison sentence, and Loki is the gods' best escape artist.

And while Odin absolutely (even by his own admission), has his moments... he's not stupid.

In that comic, Odin goes to Black Panther and starts off by saying, "Let me tell you a story."

In this story, Odin says, "A long time ago, I, a young god, and your ancestor, the first Black Panther, fought a terrible creature together with some other heroes. When we had defeated it, the Black Panther called for mercy -- something was clearly wrong with this creature, and he wanted to help it. I disagreed: I thought we should kill it and nail its corpse to the moon as a warning to the rest of its kind."

And then Odin says, "I was wrong. The Black Panther was wiser than I was."

He uses this story to illustrate why he respects the Black Panther -- a fellow king, a powerful warrior, and a man of great wisdom. And then Odin says, "That creature we fought: its friends are coming to Earth to get revenge for what we did, and Loki is helping them.* I want you to kill him for the greater good."

*(Loki, for his part, is doing all of this because Malekith intends to use Earth as the battleground for the War of the Realms and the Avengers aren't Avengering hard enough. They need a bad guy to fight so they'll have an excuse to get the band back together.)

Odin says he can't do it because he's weak, he loves his son too much to kill him himself, even knowing the destruction he's about to cause. And it seems like it doesn't quite fit together, does it? Odin didn't go to one of the other heroes he fought alongside in that fight. He didn't ask the Ghost Rider, arbiter of cosmic justice. He didn't ask Earth's Sorcerer Supreme, who's recently had to deal with Loki's bullshit and is eager to kick his ass. He didn't ask the Phoenix, favorite of his old companions. He asked the Black Panther -- the only one to disagree with him. The one who wisely called for mercy and understanding.

And then I remember Young Avengers.

And I remember when the whole thing first starts, and Billy's in trouble and America swoops in to rescue him -- not from the terrible mage-eating monster he's just accidentally summoned, but from Loki. And when they finally get a moment to sit down to talk about it, she tells Billy:

"Don't trust Loki. He knew something was going to happen and he told me that to prevent it, I should kill you."

And Loki says, "Sometimes the only way to be the good guy is to play the bad guy everyone expects you to be. What would you have done if I'd told you Billy was in trouble?"

"Nothing," she admits.

A year after this conversation with Odin, T'Challa walks into Avengers tower with a file on everything Loki's been up to recently and says to the Avengers, "What have all of you heard about the War of the Realms?"

do you think part of the reason diluc still struggles with his resentment towards kaeya is because kaeya is more like what crepus wished diluc to be? crepus was so proud of diluc for his accomplishments as a knight and lived his dream through him as well and we know how much crepus' approval meant for diluc, more than any title or doing. i sometimes wonder if diluc feels hurt knowing that kaeya gets to live the equivalent to his past life as a knight as if nothing happened when he had to make sacrifices for his own peace of mind and sense of justice. i wonder if that's what pains him the most, not the fact kaeya ommited the truth about his past for so many years but having felt like he was the only one who cared to do something regarding his father's death and who showed any sense of uprightness when confronted with the knights' request to cover their mistake and negligence. i always think about how diluc might have felt like everything was a lie and his sense of betrayal. but maybe that didn't matter as much as having the support of his brother and someone he could share his pain with would have mattered. maybe the worst thing wasn't what kaeya did but what he didn't do; maybe it was never about his actions but the lack thereof.

#i just keep thinking about how lonely diluc must have felt #we know they kept in contact but it wasn't the same #but i also feel so much for kaeya who must have been deeply worried all the time diluc spent away all the times his letters were unanswered #do you think kaeya checked diluc's vision frequently to see if it ever faultered? #my heart clenches whenever i think about them #as much as i love to dwell on the angst of their relationship i feel so happy to see an accurate representation of what healing is like #and the usage of time as a way of storytelling #how it's a slow process and how you get there little by little #how conflicting it is #you have diluc's simultaneously passionate/fierce and stoic personality vs his more vulnerable anonymous messaged in cat's tail board #he admits it pains him and he reminisces of the past yet it's so easy to get angry and it's so easy to build up walls #and then you have kaeya who comes across as confident charming laid-back but who's so hard to read #there's a sadness in him even though he's mostly well resolved #you wonder if some of his diligence is actually his or compensation for his guilt #i just really enjoy them both and how different they are yet so similar #how they are both deeply lonely how they draw a line at anyone putting people at risk #they're not my favourite characters by chance i really think they're extremely well characterised and i think they're easy to relate to #and even though kaeya uses the term anti-hero with attitude problems to describe himself they're both genuinely kind hearted people #they're both warm in their own way #and i hope they hug one day i hope by the end of this stupid game that they get to properly be in each others lives again #the way kaeya called diluc his brother in his hangouts warmed my heart a lot i'm just so glad despite everything they're still able to keep #the other around even if diluc is a silly grumpy guy the fact they dined together like the old times already means something too #my boys <3 #sometimes i want to hit diluc because it's him who pushes kaeya away the most but i also understand that the process of getting ready to #fully let go of his struggles and forgive kaeya takes time #i'm simultaneously hitting him with a cardboard tube and giving him a big big hug #i still think they should be put in the get along t-shirt though 😂 i think that's what they're lacking that would work for sure

OC Moodboard: Hunter Delaney (They/Them) + Sin Related to Hunter (Envy)

After answering some of the thematic questions for Hunter a while ago (including one on which of the seven deadly sins fit Hunter the best), I started thinking more about Hunter and the sin of envy. Thus, I ended up creating this moodboard. I used the color most commonly associated with envy: Green. It also includes snakes, an animal often associated with envy, and yellow roses and hyacinths, two flowers associated with envy.

Envy seems like an unusual choice for Hunter, considering their deep-rooted anger issues. However, some of Hunter’s anger can be attributed to envy. As I answered in the question, Hunter is envious of the life stolen from them by Dr. Griffin. Hunter wanted their own family some day. They wanted kids; they wanted to meet someone they could share their life with. They wanted to grow old with their siblings and their friends. They wanted to see their nieces and nephews be successful and celebrate their accomplishments. They wanted to live a life where a virus isn’t going to put a target on their back. They wanted to live a somewhat normal life, and now any chance for that life is gone.

Hunter knows they aren’t owed a normal life and any of the things that come with it. Yet, they can’t help but feel deeply resentful and envious of others who get to live that life. Hunter is deeply aware of what they lost and how much they would give to even get a fraction of that life back. That resentment and envy translate into anger, and Hunter has always known how to use their anger.
