Romantic Homicide [PART ONE][ Miguel O’Hara x Reader ]

Summary: You slowly slip from Miguel’s hands, and it’s too late for him to realize.

A/N: Wanted to desperately make something angsty for Miguel and this song was the perfect choice!

I'm scared

Miguel O’Hara was not the man you knew anymore. When he first arrived to your dimension, he found love with you, but he never would have admitted it if asked about it. He found a sense of peace and clarity just being with you and having you to hold. You were one of the first recruits that he brought on.

You were the shining star to Miguel’s dark world. He had never intended to get close to someone, after seeing how many spider men lost their true loves. He didn’t want to experience that pain, he felt foolish and naive for falling for you. He loved the way you both would swing next to each other, almost like a choreographed dance.

He was a very passionate person, but there was also the side of him that was cold and distant. At first, that side never came to light. It was amazing recruiting others and taking on the fight together.

Everything had been good… until it was not. Miguel had been messing with another dimension without you knowing, and it was one where he found out that you and him had a child that was orphaned. He thought he could manage being with you and going to the dimension to be with your daughter.

He had been so happy spending time with your daughter who was oblivious to losing both her parents. And he wanted to introduce you to your daughter, but feared you might see it as insane and wrong.

So he kept it a secret for the time being. But Miguel could not handle both dimensions - both lives, and eventually it caught up with him.

He lost your daughter and never told you anything about the double life he led behind your back.

It feels like you don't care

You had felt the change in Miguel. Instead of the open minded, excited-to-save-the-multiverse Miguel, you got the cold and distant lover.

He never intended to hurt you, but he never considered your emotions and what the toll of having to fight so many villains falling out of their dimensions can take on you. You were his accomplice, the person he could count on for everything and would drop anything to help out.

You were strong, but seeing the person who would kiss you so deeply it would make you feel as if nothing else mattered… seeing him slowly become irritable as if the weight of the multiverse was not on both of your shoulders.

Enlighten me, my dear

Why am I still here?

You began to grow frustrated when Miguel refused to join you for a simple meal and got angry at you for trying to make him leave his computers. He stopped showing signs of love and genuine affection to you. The days of sleeping in and messing with Miguel’s bed head, making out upside down on the ceiling, saving universes together were long gone.

At a certain point, you would only stay at the spider complex, helping out new recruits while Miguel would opt to take Jessica instead of you on missions.

You would bite your tongue and resume your duties as to not poke the bear.

I don't mean to be complacent with the decisions you made

But why?

Peter B. Parker was your favorite spider-man simply because he would always bring your favorite food made by Mary Jane and let you hold Mayday. He was your best friend, and the only person who would probably understand the pain Miguel was putting you through.

You had confessed to him the feelings you had bottled up, and he was confused as to where it all came from as Miguel never wanted your intimate relationship known to everyone else in fear of you being hurt.

It pained you to know Miguel wanted to keep you a secret, like you were some villainous person that could easily be taken back to their dimension in an instant. Like you were replaceable… and the thought nagged at you… had Miguel found another you?

Peter expressed that Miguel never even mentioned having a loved one, that he wanted no form of attachment after watching his daughter die in his hands.

You had not even known about his daughter, so the mere thought of him purposefully keeping this a secret made you feel worse. A daughter? Why did he never trust me to know about his daughter? Why did he never feel comfortable telling me?

You began to even question why you still stayed, if it was worth the stress and mental drain to be near Miguel - knowing he was keeping not only you a secret, but possibly more.

Mm. In the back of my mind, You died

And I didn't even cry. No, not a single tear

You watched as the man you loved slowly descended into madness, an obsession to be precise and catch anything and everything that was wrong. It began to feel like he never even slept anymore. He was a shell of a person, day in and day out. Staring at monitors, asking Lyla for help, and then leaving for some type of mission.

It was a horrible cycle that repeated in front of you.

Every time you tried to talk to him about how he was doing or what you could do to help, he brushed you aside and barely even looked at you.

It made you feel sick to your stomach, but you would always turn away, tears ready to fall. You were trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he kept you a secret for a reason… maybe, just maybe there was some type of reason he was acting this way with you.

But eventually you had cried enough over the man who no longer seemed to be the one who would call you his love, and the tears stopped.

And I'm sick of waiting patiently for someone that won't even arrive

You held our hope one last time, you invited Miguel to a dinner in your dimension. You set up your dining room with candles, delicious food, drinks, and a present containing the one single photo you had of the two of you.

But he never showed up. Lyla had sent a message to you telling you he got wrapped up in a mission and couldn’t make it. She seemed apologetic as she delivered the news, and she could tell you wanted to be alone.

You only said “okay” to her before ending the call, standing up, and dumping the present in the trash bin. You left your dining room and collapsed on your cold, unmade bed from when you had last left to be with Miguel.

In the back of my mind

I killed you

The next day, you heard absolutely nothing from everyone. Radio silence. You wondered if Miguel even knew if you were gone.

You stared at your watch that could take you to other universes, take you to Miguel. It was taunting you… a watch to see him but at a certain point, what cost did it come with?

You spent so much time going back and forth for him to not care at all. He was keeping your love hidden away in a room, for no one else to see. And at a certain point, he had forgotten about the room.

Finally, you had enough and no longer wished to have any type of temptation to go running back to him. There was no reason to go back.

You grabbed your hammer and began to repeatedly smash the watch into a million little pieces. Watching it crumble and break in front of you, made all the built up tears come back like a dam breaking open.

You screamed as tears poured, your heart breaking even more and feeling as if it could no longer take the hits.

And I didn't even even regret it

I can't believe I said it

You felt relieved to see the watch gone, to see the life with Miguel start to slip away, in the past.

But a part of you broke with the watch. The time spent with him felt wasted. You neglected your dimension for him and your duties as a spider-woman.

You felt angry that Miguel came into your life in the first place. That he was able to steal your heart and time and everything that made you happy was because of him.

You hated that he made you feel the way he did.

But it's true

I hate you

Months went on, no one dared to contact you in fear of Miguel finding out. He had been angry when he found out you had left, but he knew deep inside of himself that he was the reason why.

He forbid anyone to speak to you, though, because he feared you would make light of your relationship and how he let you slip away. He feared everyone would look at him as a weak, lonely, harsh leader. When he needed to remain steadfast.

You had returned to your normal way of life, learning to love yourself and help out those in need. While it was tame compared to multidimensional travel, it felt better for your soul.

However, one day after having such a long night trying to take down men who put targets on your back, you were wiping dirt and blood off your mask. In the corner of your eye, you could see a portal start to form in your living room. You were quick to put on your mask, readying yourself for it to be anyone.

But to your surprise, the most surprising person stepped through the large portal.

Hobie Brown.

At the beach with Miguel and Spider Gang (Miles, Hobie, Gwen, Pavitr, Peter and MJ and Mayday)

Notes: Wrote these up kinda quick!

Nevermind how you and Peter convinced Miguel to go to the beach with you guys, you're just glad he's open to doing something fun!

Miguel is prepared. He's got a checklist of everything you guys need and definitely keeps a first aid kit handy.

He is supervising that everyone has on their sunscreen, bugspray, and what have you because he'll be damned if you guys head back to HQ and one of you can't function because of a little sunburn. (Lowkey he just cares though.) He even brought infant/toddler specific sunscreen for Mayday.

Miguel's eyes are sensitive to light so he's got his sunglasses on! And Peter forgot Mayday's hat, but Miguel already brought one for her just in case. It's not that Miguel doubts Peter, he just likes to help.

"Oh, darn," Peter says. "Guys, has anyone seen Mayday's hat? It's pink with little flowers and-" "Honey, I think you left it on the couch?" Mary Jane says. "I think you're right," Peter sighs. "Well, looks like you're stuck with me under the umbrella, kiddo!" "Peter." Peter looks to Miguel who's just got that impassive expression of his as he holds out an infant size hat. It's stylized like the classic Spider suit (red/blue with white web motif). Peter smiles and takes the hat and as much as he wants to give Miguel a hard time about being a softie he spares him. This time!

When Miguel sees you come out in your swim outfit (if this is his first time seeing you in it), he's thankful for the sunglasses because he's not taking his eyes off you. Immediately wants to hold your hand, put his arm around your waist or *something*. He needs some kind of physical contact with your body and his.

Miles, Hobie, Pavitr, and Gwen will waste no time getting in the water.

Miguel will take it upon himself to set up the chairs, umbrellas, and everything else. He's not going to ask for help and will just grumble about it the whole time. Of course, you guys step in to help. You and Mary Jane take over bringing the rest of the stuff from the vehicle while Peter and Miguel set up a little pool area for Mayday.

Once everything is set up, the adults can hit the water!

Miguel does not show it often, but he can be mischievous at times. He'll swim underwater and sneak up on you and if you're on a floatie there's a 50/50 chance he will flip you over.

At some point, it's just you and Mary Jane in the water while the others are off doing their thing. Miguel makes it a point to join Peter and Mayday to help keep them company. He actually smiles a bit when Mayday splashes him and he does play with her. You and Mary Jane just watch in amusement.

Mayday hands her dad a little crab toy and hands a shark to Miguel. Miguel makes little "rah-rah" noises and pretends the shark "bites" Mayday and she giggles. Peter lets the intrusive thoughts win and he proceeds to squish the crab revealing that it squirts water and it does so right in Miguel's face.

"Really, Peter?"

A little while later and you guys are all back on shore; you and Mary Jane catch some sun and relax in the lounge chairs and the rest are making sand castles. Gwen and Miles work together to build one and theirs looks a little clumsy, but they're having fun. Hobie and Pavitr have the most visually pleasing looking sand castle complete with seashell decor. Miguel and Peter are taking this VERY seriously and are making a very large and structurally sound sand castle complete with multiple battlements and a moat.

For food, Miguel made sure to pack a variety of snacks and drinks for everyone to have throughout the day; there's plenty of fruit (he brought some tajin to spice it up!) There's chips, paletas, agua frescas, chicharrones, pan dulce, and what have you. You stayed up the night before packing everything into the coolers and ice chests. For food there's all kinds of fixings for tortas that way everyone can have them the way they like. Miguel packed plenty forgetting that not everyone has the hefty appetite he does, but he also rather he bring too much than not enough for everyone.

Miles is the one who suggests that you guys play volleyball and if you didn't know before, you learn that Miguel can get competitive. Hobie and Pavitr take a turn hanging with Mayday and Hobie jams on his guitar. The teams are Peter, Mary Jane, and Miles versus you, Miguel, and Gwen. If you're not a Spider-person then you and Mary Jane are the outliers among the group. The gang don't even realize they're using their spider abilities to play and it's best if the two of you back away slowly.

The team opposite of you got a point on your team and were gloating a little too much for Miguel's liking and Spider-Man 2099 felt it was an appropriate time to humble them. To say Miguel's serves are aggressive is an understatement.

During the game, Miguel's claws came out, much to his embarrassment, and they popped the ball.

You packed a spare.

When everyone returns to have fun in the water, you stay behind to comfort Miguel a bit. He's still a little sore about the volleyball incident.

Taking a break from the water, you sit under the umbrella on a towel next to where Mayday is and Miguel will come over and lay next to you and rest his head in your lap. You run your fingers through his hair and he starts to doze off for a minute.

He's been very busy trying to facilitate the outing at the beach despite you trying to tell him to hang back and let everyone else help out. He just can't help but take up the responsibilities.

Peter and Mary Jane brought supplies for s'mores!

You guys get a fire going as the sun goes down and enjoy some!

Miguel's never actually made a real s'more. He's had s'more flavored things and always found them too sweet for his liking, but he's willing to give this a go.

"Miguel, you have to leave the marshmallow in the fire longer than that!" You instruct trying to help guide the skewer back into the flames. "Is it supposed to be burnt??" "Just a little," you chuckle. "That's what makes it soft on the inside. It tastes fine, don't worry." You help him construct the s'more and he takes a bite. "Ay dios!" He says with a mouthful of s'more as the marshmallow squishes out the sides and gets on his hands.

As the day comes to a close, everyone helps clean up and bids each other goodbye.

It's just you and Miguel left on the beach and the two of you take a moment to enjoy the quiet of the night, the view of all the stars, and the sound of the waves on the shore before deciding to head back home.

Oh look at me making another story idea or maybe a one shot? Either way here goes, you and Miguel were in a relationship for like 3 to 4 years you guys were going through some things because he had new job but he didn't spend enough time with you and always stressed from working but you understood but you also noticing that he was drifting from you and your relationship it also did not help that his new assistant who happened to be his brother's girlfriend Dana

(hehe same name as mine)

started to flirt with him a lot Miguel didn't take it seriously saying that you were being paranoid but one day when you come to his job to bring him something to eat on your anniversary only to see him and her getting freaky 😔 you pack everything and leave without a word just pictures of him and her together in his office left on the kitchen counter in your shared apartment.

you find out two weeks later that you were pregnant which freaked you out because you did not think that you could get pregnant you are always told that because of how your body was there was no chance if you ever having children then boom you find out that you're pregnant so you spend the whole entire year focusing on yourself and your newborn daughter which you named Gabriella O'Hara.

Again years later you than find out that your best friend Mary Jane Watson was getting married so you decided to come back home to New York for the engagement party and visit when you get there everyone is shocked and surprised and find out that you had a daughter you were in a not really good shape to really talk to anyone you basically just kind of stopped talking to everyone after the break up with Miguel and cheating so yeah this was their first time meeting your daughter they knew she existed just never got the chance to meet her face to face ( they video called ) you find out from Gabriel that Miguel and Dana were engaged not surprised just did not care (yes tf you do😭💔❤️‍🩹😭)

after losing your daughter in a crowd unfortunately she meets her father who is surprised to see a little girl that just looked like him but had your eyes and your nose that's when he put the pieces together (yeah you fucked up dude)

after spending a night with Dana he comes back to your shared apartment and sees the note left behind and the pictures of him in Dana together he freaks out tries to contact you but no avail tries to contact other people but they also don't know where you are and know what he did so even if they did know where you were they wouldn't tell them so yeah he was like in a really emotional state throwing things hurting himself he was just really pissed off

But you did not want him to know about you being pregnant and yeah I know it sounds bad but Miguel had really bad anger issues after getting his new high paying job which thankfully he started seeking help with after you left and he seeks comfort in Dana (idiot) which led to them being engaged, he was invited to Peter's engagement party that's when he met your daughter because she had bumped into him which wasn't their first meeting (Gabriella was playing a field with her soccer ball that's when Miguel saw her and thought she was a lost child and just started playing soccer with her Gabriella does mention that she did make a friend but you did not know that it was your ex bf,

Being scared you say your goodbyes quickly leaving the party Miguel chased after you trying to get answers but you were gone again, you had a panic attack ,

worried that he was going to take your daughter from you and he would fight for full custody which you wouldn't blame him for but you also thought it was unreasonable seeing as he showed little interest in having children mostly because of his past with his family but when you left he started fantasizing at the idea of you two married and having children he would have loved to adopt, so to find out that you had a daughter and kept it fr him broke his heart

so yes he now knows that he has a daughter and he might be fighting for custody if you are willing to agree to let him get to know Gabriella oh yeah and his brother knows about his daughter he kept it a secret, basically is petty revenge for yaknow hooking up with his girlfriend

now Miguel is trying to fix everything trying to win back your affection and apologize for everything he's done in the past which is just going to be really hard to do on both ends hopefully they both try to resolve their issues for their daughter's sake who just wants both her parents back together.

Drama and Angst y'all when I first found out about Miguel story I found out on tiktok that he cheated with his brothers girlfriend I was like wow bro that's fucked up and I haven't really seen anyone make any Miguel X reader cheating stories yet so I was like okay let's do this

-The terms like The Stranger, The Vast, The Spiral, The Buried and blah blah and being an avatar etc. will be explained in future as in the podcast.

-Although I'm trying not to go out of personality to a large extent, there will be many things that do not fit because this is a completely different universe.

-Most of the Creepypasta characters are not killers, and some external appearance features have been arranged accordingly. If you don't like it, you don't need to read it because it's an AU. It's that simple.

-This AU is set in London, just like the podcast.

-If there is a thing that you are uncomfortable with, just don't read it. TMA is a podcast series full of really interesting horror stories, and if you're feeling uncomfortable, it's quite normal but please don't push yourself too much.

- All statements in the 200 episodes will not be mentioned in this AU. Only as much of it as will help you understand the AU will be edited into the AU.

-The dialogue is not exactly the same as in the podcast, because it will vary depending on the characters, but the critical scenes may be the same.

summary: peter and his wife split after having their first child, mayday. peter has custody of mayday and comes to her daycare teacher for guidance/help/assistance

warnings: none (purely assistance for peter and mayday)

not proofread, just plug and post

intentional use of lowercase letters with capital letters being used for certain words, phrases and letters.

no use of y/n (me no like fanfic with y/n)

it was kinda, sorta hard to write as peter so bare with me.

this is not exactly a relationship type of fic

it had been a long day of peter sitting at spider society headquarters and doing nothing but bothering miguel while he worked. peter only bugged miguel because it was the first day that he had been without mayday.

peter and mary jane had recently gotten their second divorce because of peter's carelessness of where mayday is and isn't. because of this, peter enrolled mayday in a nursery so that he knows where she is at all times and so that she doesn't become as stupid as her father and learns something.

an alarm went off in the main building of the headquarters, indicating that day-spiders swapped out with night-spiders. (like shifts)

"well, miguel, it's been fun chatting to ya'. i have to go pick up our child from kindergarten." peter snickered, standing up from a chair placed on the platform in miguel's 'office'

"just leave, peter. AND what do you mean by 'our child' ?" miguel raised his brow as he turned to face peter, annoyed at the male who wore a pink gown to work.

"well, you are always taking care of her..."

"because you always bring her to headquarters and leave her with unreliable people... LIKE HOBIE!"

hobie, who was standing on the floor of the wide office, crossed his hands over his chest and watched as the two men descended with the platform. "i'd have you know im actually a decent babysitter"

peter chuckled and over exaggeratedly pointed at hobie as he said his statement.

"okay, i get it." miguel rolled his eyes as he stepped off the plaform. "now leave. mayday is waiting for you."

peter sighed exhausted and said his goodbyes to the team, opening a portal and changing out of his suit before picking up mayday. he couldn't have people know he was spiderman... especially after the divorce was such a huge thing because of MJ's reputation.

he sighed as he drove to the daycare. his depression and mental health had rapidly decreased and he knew that if he didn't get his act together, it would affect his relationship with the one he loved the most...

mayday...

peter inhaled a deep breath and forced a red smile on his face as he entered through the door. the jingle of the bell on the door woke you up from your blanked-out state. you held a quiet and sleepy mayday in your hands and peter walked in a bit amazed as she has never been that quiet lately.

"hey mr parker. i was afraid you weren't going to show" you joked, standing with mayday and walking over to the front desk, reaching over to give him mayday's bag and her sign-out form.

"yeah, sorry about that." he chuckled, rubbing his neck as you slowly bounced mayday in your arms and he signed the form and took her bag

"oh no, don't stress about that mr parker. if you feel as though you're going to come fetch her later than normal, just call ahead." you smiled and handed mayday to peter. a loud cry erupted from her mouth as he landed in his arms. he tried to lightly bounce her quiet but failed and the small girl in his hands began to reach out to you again. he looked at you and nod, indicating it was okay for you to take her again.

you held the girl in your arms again and slowly began shushing the girl, bouncing and rocking her back and forth in your arms. she slowly stopped crying and smiled as she laid against your chest.

peter raised a brow at you and gestured for mayday to go back into his arms, and when you gave her to peter, she burst into tears again. peter released an exhausted sigh and bounced her in his arms as you did.

"oh, let me guide you" you smiled and took mayday's bag from his hand and set it on the desk. you stood behind peter and guided his hands underneath his daughter and told him where to support her in order for her to feel comfortable. once he held her the way you told him to, you began guiding his movements.

"okay, now slowly rock your arms back and forth while tapping your hand against her back softly and at a rhythmic pace." you spoke softly and stood aside to watch him do what you had instructed.

mayday slowly stopped her loud cries and stuffed her head into peter's chest, and stayed silent. she closed her eyes and began to fall asleep. peter looked down at her and up at you, amazed by what had happened.

"how'd you do that?" he asked with a genuine smile on his face.

"when working in childcare for years, you pick up a few tips and tricks" you softly chuckled and turned off all the lights and electronic devices.

you were the only one left at your daycare. you sent your workers home when the daycare closed and you had to stay an hour longer because peter showed up late.

"i do apologise about being late. the hours at work are a bit harsh and with my ex-wife not being able to take care of her-" peter sighed and took back her backpack from you. "its just a lot of strain on me." you smiled softly and offered to walk the man and his daughter out. "it's alright mr parker."

"call me peter" he returned your soft smile and accepted your offer. you lead him out and turned off all the lights before locking the door and putting on the alarm.

you walked peter to his car and helped him set an extremely sleepy mayday into her cat seat. "now cover her with her blanket-" you spoke softly and looked over his shoulder as you instructed him. he put her teddy between her arms and shut the car door to talk to you.

"thank you for this." he extended his hand to shake yours. "its no problem at all. i know all the struggles of being a single parent." you chuckled softly as you reciprocated the greeting.

"you have kids of your own?" he raised a brow and looked at your hands, seeing if there was an indication that you were married.

'no rings. they're a single parent too...' he thought, reassuring himself.

"oh, no. many of the parents that leave their children at our daycare are single. i helped them with taking care of their kids because it gets tough with work and extra responsibilities. that's why i never had an issue with you coming later than expected." that reassuring smile crept back onto your face which made peter feel more at ease.

although you never knew the struggle of being a single parent, you understood and was offering the help that peter so desperately needed. he glanced back at his young daughter and back at you.

"if you have time, would you mind helping me take care of mayday?" he asked, shrugging his shoulders nervously.

nervous that you would say no and that he would have to struggle alone

you nod your head and smile wide. "sure peter. i wouldn't mind helping you." you pulled out a pen and a piece of paper and wrote down your name and personal contact number. "just call and I'll assist or i'll be right over" he nod and pulled you into a gentle hug. you were a bit startled, but you understood the relief he felt to have someone helping him again, so you hugged him back with equal energy and smiled as he said:

"thank you".

after a few minutes of talking to peter, the two of you bid a farewell and went your separate ways.

turns out the house you had recently moved into was directly opposite peter's. this made your job of helping peter with mayday easier

Two crazy theories I thought of after reading "Doctor Strange (2023) #5":

Warning: You're probably going to question my sanity after reading this.

2 - Clea's new sister is Sofia Strange.

Okay, let's start, for those who don't know who "Sofia Strange" is, she is the daughter of Doctor Strange and Clea in the comics. Well, she was, because she never came back after a single appearance in "Epic Anthology" and we can assume that Marvel "forgot" about her and she never existed on Earth-616. It never happened, no one mentions her (not even Clea), wiped out of existence. BUT... An alternate version of her appeared in "Wastelanders: Doom" last year and was already an adult. That means Marvel hasn't forgotten about her and they still know she was left out on Earth-616.

As for the theory, I started to think it would be "funny" if Umar's new daughter was revealed to be the new Sofia Strange on Earth-616. Yes, you might think I'm hallucinating, but like, if Umar really dies and Clea has to take care of her new sister, then what are the chances of Clea and Stephen naming her "Sofia"? Besides, it looks like this child is going to be Tiboro and Umar's successor, so Clea and Stephen are going to have to teach her magic. And let's face it, Clea and Stephen would be MUCH better parents than Tiboro and Umar, I would give the child 1 year to live, until Tiboro and Umar start killing each other after General Strange is eliminated. Another reason I created this theory, is that I think it's time for Marvel to bring Sofia back and expand this family even further, how can they disappear with her for over a decade? It has so much potential and this is a new chance. And of course, with this new child being created by Clea and Stephen, the bond between them will be stronger than it already is, I will NOT risk the possibility of Marvel ruining this couple again and turning them into "Mary Jane and Peter 2.0". Enough of the love drama, make these two stick together forever and have a child to take care of. If even Dormammu has a son who was born on Earth, then Clea and Stephen will take care of a child, even if it is not their biological daughter.

1 - Dormammu will kill General Strange.

What? I have to give hope to my favorite villain to do something new in comics, the guy is hungry to kill some mystical being. Anyway, this theory probably isn't "crazy", it's just unlikely, but I'm going to put it here because I want to know what you guys think of the idea.

Look, we know that Stephen and Dormammu are in the middle of a "Cold War", they are not killing each other like they used to and they are in the most possible "peace" they can have. However, one of Dormammu's most interesting lines in the third chapter of "Doctor Strange (2023)" was this:

"When I kill you, you will stay dead."

It went something like that, I don't remember the whole sentence, because I'm too lazy to remember now. Continuing the theory, we already know that Dormammu wants to kill Stephen with all the Flames of the Faltines he has, but he can't, because they are in a Cold War. BUT... Now there's a new version of Stephen Strange who is threatening to kill all the rulers of other dimensions and Umar is one of the targets. Yes, Dormammu said "I'm Out" after the attack started in the last comic, but if there's one target General Strange is going to focus on in the future, it's definitely going to be Dormammu. Even if General Strange couldn't get to him, Dormammu has to know that he might be on General Strange's hit list. So, assuming Stephen and Clea fail to defeat General Strange, who could they ask for help? Dormammu is one of those, because despite the rivalry, Dormammu has to realize what a threat this crazy guy is. Furthermore, I think it would be interesting for Dormammu to "feel something" with Umar's (possible) death, if it happens. I know, Dormammu doesn't seem to care about the rest of the family these days, but anyone who's read "Defenders (2005)" knows that Dormammu still seemed to love his sister. Yes, she betrayed him at the end (again), but I think it's possible there's still a certain "concern" within the character, something that might affect him to go after General Strange. Unlikely, I know, because Marvel... is Marvel, but Jed MacKay has already proven himself to be one of the best writers at Marvel and he is one of the best in the Doctor Strange comics. So I think it's possible for this to happen, just because of Jed MacKay and the line Dormammu said in the third chapter. Dormammu could still say something like this after killing General Strange:

"I told you... When I kill you, you will stay dead."

This would be a moment to remember for Stephen and the readers, because Dormammu is still a threat in Stephen's life. It would be a moment of "relief" for the villain too, because he managed to satisfy (a little) his desire to kill his rival, even though it was an alternative version.

The Secret You Keep

A small scene from my Spiderman AU that I have never once mentioned on Tumblr lol.

I envision this moment in time to take a place maybe a year after Gwen Stacy's death. Peter's been in a rough place, using Spider-Man as a way of escaping the reality of what happened, spending most of his time in costume. He tells his loved ones he's either working or going to therapy, when is reality he's using pain and adrenaline to try suffocating the grief. However, albeit at his lowest point, he's stopped from descending any further by Mary Jane. The two live together as roommates, as MJ tries to help Peter get back on his feet. The two have grown closer, closer than they ever were prior to Gwen's death, and Peter begins to feel something he can't describe, but he knows he's felt before...

That brings us to this specific moment. Peter is beaten, bloody, and tired. In his tired worn down state, he finds himself asking God or the universe or whatever higher power is out there, what he can he do to move forward when he has no idea how...

That's when he sees the billboard. Displaying the picture of MJ and that phrase... 'The Secret You Keep...'.

Maybe it's coincidence, but maybe it's a metaphorical sign as well as a physical one. A sign that his unsure feelings for MJ aren't wrong to be felt. A sign that if he shares his secret, the secret of his great responsibility, with her, he can finally move forward past the grief and into a better tomorrow. A sign that happiness can be found again.

But then again, maybe it's just a billboard...

"So, you're also Spider-Man, but from a different universe?" MJ asks sweetly as she sets down a plate of roast chicken in front of Miguel. Off to the side, Peter B. Parker is making silly noises as he feeds Mayday. "Do you go by Spidey? Peter used to like that."

Miguel manages a tight, polite smile. Why did he agree to come over for dinner? But she seemed so sincere in the moment when Miguel returned Parker to his dimension safely that Miguel said yes without thought.

"Everyone calls me Miguel," he answers, even though that's not true, but there is far too much to unpack in the statement and he's not about to reveal his past to one woman, even if she's a Mary Jane Watson. "This chicken is delicious."

As MJ rests her head on Peter's shoulder that night, she says, "Miguel is very lonely, isn't he?"

"Hmm?" Peter blinks and drags his focus back to his wife. "Miguel? I don't know. I mean, he did manage to pull a huge group of Spiders together."

"Doesn't mean he's friends with them."

"He's friends with Jess," Peter supplies. "And... Well, Lego Spidey. I think. And me. See? Not lonely."

MJ props herself up on her elbow. "Does he have a family? An Uncle Ben, an Aunt May, his own MJ or Gwen Stacy?"

Peter opens his mouth. Peter closes his mouth.

MJ flops back down into her husband's arms. "Poor man. He's got no family."

Peter knows the story behind that, but it's not his story to tell. Instead, he kisses the top of his wife's head and murmurs, "I'll bring him around for dinner more often, how about that?" Smiling, he adds, "He's good with Mayday. Never drops her or snaps at her when she climbs all over him."

"He must love kids then," MJ remarks. "Because that girl is eight handfuls of curiosity and trouble."

"Don't say that about my girl."

"I'm saying that about my girl."

Peter laughs quietly and sighs, rubbing his hand over MJ's shoulder. "He doesn't think of himself as Spider-Man, even after all he's done for the other Spiders."

"Oh? Why do you say that?"

"He never calls himself Spider-Man. Doesn't help that his abilities aren't like most spiders, too." Peter thinks about what he's learned of Miguel's past, and thinks about the weight of guilt and self-loathing, and how much Miguel is trying to make up for that tragedy. But no one knows why that happened in the first place. No one knows for sure if it's because he broke the so-called canon, or of it's some other power.

MJ is silent. She knows when Peter's thinking hard. Instead, she wonders why Miguel doesn't grin, why he keeps his shoulders so tight, why he seems uncomfortable with Peter and glances longingly at Mayday when she's playing with her daddy.

"Peter?"

"Yeah?"

"If he's open to it, can you ask him to be Mayday's godfather?"

Peter exhales heavily and kisses the top of her head. "Yeah. Yeah I'll ask."

Two things, second one later since it breaks the mood: One, remember the "In another life I would have loved to pay taxes over a laundromat with you" scene from Everything Everywhere All at Once? The one where she finds herself in a universe where's she's rich and successful, and he is also rich and successful and not together, but in the end both of them would greatly prefer the universe where they are poor but together?

Yeah, THAT, is how it should have gone with House of M for Peter. Rich No Responsibilities Wrestler Peter Parker, Obscenely popular actress Mary Jane Watson who manages to become one despite being homo sapiens in a mutant supremacist world because she's just THAT good, white picket fence with his high school girlfriend-

And in the end both of them tell each other they would have greatly preferred to live in the world where they are broke and happy together.

Just with Mayday also in it of course, as an added bonus from Wanda, much like Miles got back his Mom that one time, who instead of going No More Mutants brings back Mayday for SYMBOLISM given how this whole thing started with her losing her sons.

Glad i'm not the only one who thought of Peter/MJ from that scene.

With Christmas and New Years upon us at the time, it just felt like the time to pull the trigger on a pic I’d been meaning to get off my plate for quite some time. After all, this always felt like a Christmas/New Years-type scene in my mind. You know, redemption, rebirth, togetherness...all that fun stuff. ^_^ For those who are wondering, this is loosely based on a scene I was planning for, late in my Spectacular Spider-Man fanfic series (which I'm STLL looking for co-writers for, so if you're at all interested or KNOW anyone who might be interested, my door is always open ^_^). But first, a little bit of background/spoilers, to put this picture in context. Throughout the course of my fics, Peter and Gwen find themselves slowly inching closer back together. But between finding out that Peter is Spider-Man, gaining Spider Powers of her own, after being experimented on by Miles Warren (who becomes the Jackal, after being exposed to the Globulin Green) and barely surviving an attack by Harry Osborn, as the new Green Goblin (and attack where her father, George Stacy, is crippled), Gwen reaches a breaking point. As such, she heads abroad and away from Peter, in the desperate hope that some soul searching will help her decide if a life with Spider-Man is really something she can handle. She tells no one where's she's going, save for Mary Jane. However, months later, Peter has his mind swapped with Otto Octavius, who places his old body in a chemical-induced coma and proceeds to take Spider-Man's life for his own. Mary Jane, sensing that something is horribly wrong, contacts Gwen, telling her that she can't wait anymore and it's time for her to come home. Returning to New York, now as Spider-Woman, Gwen fights alongside Anti-Venom to defeat Octavius and restore Peter's mind to its rightful body. But when Anti-Venom leaves to return to California, Peter and Gwen are left behind to deal with the fallout of her leaving. In the ensuing discussion, Gwen reveals what prompted her to become Spider-Woman and how the resulting transformation has left her feeling more confident to return home. Which brings us to the image in question. The basic image is Peter and Gwen finally reconciling, at the perfect time of year to do it, no less. This was more or less how I've wanted it to look for years. However, when a DA member came to me, with the same basic idea, only including Peter and Gwen being inadvertently spied upon by a character from another series Greg Weisman was very closely tied to (bonus points if you can guess who), I thought it was too good to pass up, so I gladly stole the idea (don't worry, he didn't mind). So basically, we had romance, a bit of humor and enough of a holiday theme to make it timely. ^_^ Oh, and yes, the background is a photograph. I'll admit, I got lazy and took a shortcut. I just didn't have the time (or the strength) to draw a background that detailed. Still, the quality is low enough that you really can barely tell. Well, that's all for now. There's just so much wrong with gwiles as a pairing, yeah it sucked in the comics but the movies aren't much better despite what the fans try and tell you. It's lowkey forced. Why does gwen have to be shoved back in the box of being Spiderman's love interest and why is Miles not getting his own original stories? Like there's so much to Unpack

Like one thing the movies did is completely erase the characters who are important to their respective stories? Gwens important relationships such as the maryjanes (mj especially cause hello they have so much going on), cindy, HARRY, they completely erased Harry from the story all together, are non existent. Miles's friends from the comics, Ganke, his best friend is practically a stranger, Barbara, Tiana. He also has a bunch of other superhero friends. But they had to erase them in order to push the whole "isolation from everybody but each other" thing which is gross but...sacrifice important key characters for the sake of their precious ship I guess! I just hate it!

hm i've got mixed feelings about this.

there's only so long a movie runtime can be, and given how packed atsv was, there's a limited amount of time that could've been spent on miles and gwen's social circles. gwen especially because this is still Miles's Movie. it's a movie, not an ongoing comic, so you have to condense a lot to stay efficient. and since the point of this trilogy is to be about the spiderverse and explore lots of different universes (you can't make movie one all about the spiderverse and say 'no more of that!' in movie two; once itsv was decided, it was a given that atsv and btsv would have to be multiverse movies too), the tradeoff is we only have so much time to spend in each.

and fwiw, i think gwen and miles having trouble relating to other kids and closing themselves off makes sense. they're two teenagers who've been through trauma that they think kids their age can't relate to. it's true to character for them to withdraw, and vital to the plot, so those vulnerabilities can be preyed on by the spider society.

but. there are some differences in the ways their supporting casts were cut down in the movie.

for gwen,

idk which cindy you're referring to so i'll touch on both: earth-65 cindy moon not being in gwen's backstory i'm fine with, bc that'd require diving deep into how gwen got her powers and We Don't Have Time For That. we also don't need it either, because the source of gwen's powers is irrelevant to her plotline. it gets a pass.

earth-616 cindy moon, aka the superhero gwen is friends with, being cut, is a mixed bag. it's not fucking great that gwen has no female friends anymore. it would've been so easy to swap pav out with a female hero who could've served the same purpose in the narrative.

the loss of harry osborn though, is a problem. cutting him out of gwen's backstory scrubs out the incel aspect of peter's character, which in turn removes gwen's emotional baggage about being in a relationship. removing him also gets rid of a romantic rival for miles, and the obvious path through which gwen gets her symbiote (which i bring up because gwen's comics have a whole meta subplot where a writer stand-in is angry that she's venomized because it would make her unattractive to miles. gwen not having her symbiote, and therefore her actual powerset, keeps her appealing and makes sure she can't outshine miles in a fight scene).

as for the mary janes.... gwen being cold and hostile to them at this point is true to the comics (as a result of grief and guilt, since peter was their friend too, and she was directly responsible for his death) and makes sense. a teenage girl dealing with a serious loss she can't tell people about is going to withdraw and be snappish.

em jay having a small role works for that point in gwen's arc. plus her and gwen's friendship is a rollercoaster so they didn't actually have to change anything about their dynamic.

gwen not being friends with the girls outside the band is the issue. gwen's end monologue pretty much confirms she doesn't see the mary janes as friends or feel like she could ever belong with them, and that she needs a new band that Does Understand Her. like, the shift in gwen's preference is from 'all-female band made up of alternate versions of peter's various girlfriends, who in this world get to be gay with each other and bond without a guy motivating them at all' to 'band that's almost entirely dudes and two-girls-who-are-only-here-for-a-boy, that gwen only forms for a male love interest'...

the vibe's that gwen gave up on being her own person and finding companionship with other girls and women, crawled back into the male gaze, and is relying entirely on that to give her validation. thanks i fucking hate it!

as for miles,

ganke being built up as his best friend who knows his secret at the end of itsv and then proceeding to do... nothing in atsv is just odd (like, at least bring him to the party so he can cover for you while you're stuck on the train with the cakes?). i guess there's a chance he could factor into btsv given that the spot's fucking his world up and he knows his roommate's said villain's nemesis, but who knows. either way, yeah. ganke feels underutilized so far.

however the exclusion of his superpowered friends, the champions especially, makes sense. if the central theme of this story is that miles feels lonely in his own world and wants to find other superhumans, if he has an entire team of superhumans at home, he has no need to seek out the spider society. therefore, his friends can't be here or we have to totally rework the plot.

the same applies for barbara. there's little time to spend in miles's world before he jumps universes, so she wouldn't have much of a presence, and the story's stronger if she isn't around so his isolation is consistent.

also in terms of timing, it took 5ish years to make atsv. the script was probably completed before tiana toomes was even created. she's a very new character. (just look at how gwen's still calling herself spider-woman in the movie, when she's been ghost-spider in the comics for four-ish years; there's a creative lag). so leaving tiana out gets a pass from me because the writers can't time travel or see the future.

[spiderverse miles could still have a unique love interest, but to keep the story consistent and efficient, she'd have to be a fellow spider-hero. margo kess is easily the best option here. i doubt she'll be more than a bit player in btsv, but my tinfoil hat fever dream is that she's miles's mj and that's why their spider-senses went nuts around each other.]

so the difference i'm seeing is that gwen's supporting cast was gutted to make her dependent on a romance with miles, while miles's was gutted to make him ready to engage with the plot as a whole. gwen's a part of that, but even if she weren't around, he'd still be longing to reunite with peter and find a team of heroes to join.

5. Describe their cozy night in

A snowy night outside the apartment while they're both inside, sitting on the living room couch, cuddling eachother underneath a nice warm blanket, watching their favorite movie while drinking hot cocoa filled with marshmallows and smashed up pieces of candy cane

8. What happens if the other gets sick?

When MJ gets sick, Peter will be by her side, ready with whatever she needs when she needs it. Hot warm soup? Check. Extra pillows and blankets to keep her comfortable while she rests? Check. A cold towel to keep her burning forehead feeling cool? Check. Tissues for her runny nose? Check. "A very loving, very handsome and very awesome boyfriend keeping her company until she gets better?" Check.

And whenever Peter gets sick, MJ will make sure he stays home to rest until she knows that he feels well enough to go back out to take care of business with the criminals out there, cause as a loving girlfriend, she can't just have her sick boyfriend running around out there fighting criminals while feeling unwell like it's nothing, so she makes sure that he gets his rest and energy. She will also do the same that he does for her while he's getting better

9. What are their thoughts on having children?

At first Peter wasn't completely on board with having kids, due to having such a dangerous and busy lifestyle as a hero of New York City, it was MJ who had mostly desired this thought while being married to Peter for three years. She adored the idea of growing a loving family with the man she loved. They've had many difficult discussions with eachother before about starting one, but it was hard for Peter to actually take that next step in their marriage. Peter did want to be a Father someday, he really did...he was just too terrified of what he could lose if he ever did have them.

Though, after some time and a lot of hard thinking, wanting to overcome his fear of getting hurt so that he could be happy with his wife and future kids, he had finally decided to take that next big step in his marriage with Mary Jane

So after a year, they finally had a baby girl named May Parker and a second daughter named Anna-May Parker two years after. They are a happy family.

10. Describe their first date

Peter and MJ were both just 16 years old when they had their first date, it was also around the time Peter had gotten his first part time job delivering pizza's so that he could save up for their date. They both went out to eat at Applebee's and were having a great time with eachother, chatting and laughing together about things as they both ate their delicious meals. Unfortunately though, their date was soon disrupted by an attack from the Green Goblin at the place, causing chaos for them and everyone else in there. So as usual when it came to situations like this, Peter was forced to to leave MJ behind to run away safely with the rest of the crowd, while he went to go suit up and stop the Green goblin.

14. How do their personalities compliment eachother? Do they clash?

MJ is a fun, outgoing girl who makes Peter a more confident person and Peter brings MJ joy with his kind and humorous personality

22. What reminds them both of eachother?

On special days or just to surprise her, Peter will always get MJ Hydrangea flowers since he knows that she loves them very much. So he's always reminded of her whenever he sees them behind flower shop windows when swinging (or walking) by them in New York

Musicals remind him of MJ too, since she loves to be on stage and loves singing

There are these strawberry cupcakes that are sold at a nearby bakery that reminds MJ of Peter a lot since he loves them very much, so MJ will sometimes get them for him as a surprise

MJ has an old oversized, blue, space hoodie that Peter let her "borrow" back in highschool, she's always reminded of him whenever she wears it

Sometimes little random spiders will also remind her of Peter as well
