It had been a long day and it seemed to be hitting you harder than it usually did. Honestly, you loved your job, you loved your life but everything was becoming too weighty. It felt like the world was pressing against your shoulders again and the melancholy had set in. Frank had noticed, you tried to hide it but you know that he saw it.
So, when he came back to the house to find you sitting at the bay window, staring out as the rain pattered against the glass; he wasn’t surprised. He was just glad you were okay and even if you didn’t greet him, seeing you there was soothing enough for him. He took his boots off at the doorway and headed towards you, sitting on the edge of the bay window seat.
“Hey, sweetheart,” He said softly. His presence didn’t surprise you and when he placed one of his hands over yours, it relaxed you. You turned your head towards him and forced a smile onto your face. He looked tired. It had been a long day for both of you but the love was still pouring out of his every feature.
“Hi, how was work?” You asked, turning your hand up to intertwine your fingers. He shrugged. “Same as always,” He responded. You nodded and turned back to look out the window. The rain pattering against the panes was soothing your heavy soul. It was such a soft noise and it made you feel calmer. The rain always had a way of doing that. Everything else quietened down and you could just focus on the soft pitter-patter, “Can I sit with you?” He asked. You nodded and shuffled up so that he could sit beside you.
It was a tight squeeze so Frank pulled you onto his lap. The back of your head rested against him as he wrapped his arms around you. His presence against you kept you grounded. It meant your mind couldn’t wander too far.
The silence was nice, just the sound of each of your breathing filled the space. There weren’t many cars going by. The rain was too heavy and the evening traffic had yet to start. But there was the occasional passer-by who rushed by, hiding under a coat hood or an umbrella. The two of you just watched the world turn, breathing against each other.
The minutes drew on and you felt Frank’s head rest against yours, he pressed a kiss to your hair before his grip tightened slightly.
“What’s going on in that head of yours?” He questioned softly. You sunk deeper into him, your hand grabbing his so that you could play with his fingers.
“I’m just sad today,” You explained. A frown spread across his face and you could feel the sigh against the back of your head, “It’s okay, it’ll pass.” He pressed another kiss to the back of your head before he settled back again. He understood how you felt. The only thing that staved off his melancholia was killing and now… you. He knew that both of you were better for having each other but it was still hard. He wanted to be there for you now.
It took him some time but he managed to work out what you needed. Like, right now, you needed to just sit in it for a while. But he knew that if it went on too long, it would get worse and he wasn’t going to let that happen.
“Food or a movie?” He asked after a beat. Your eyebrows furrowed. You knew what he was doing and it reminded you of how loved you were, it made you want to smile properly.
“Can we get a shower?” You asked, voice quiet. He nodded his head and pressed a kiss to your cheek.
“Of course, sweetheart. Whatever my girl needs,” He responded. A smile began to crack through the melancholy and you didn’t feel so blue anymore, “Want me to cook when we’re done?” You nodded and turned over onto your knees before planting a kiss on his lips.
“I love you.

"I'm Just a F**ked Up Girl Looking For Her Own Peace of Mind"
I'm currently experience this and struggling with it so I wrote a little thing here. *sighs*
TW: Mental health (anxiety and depression), child abuse, mentions of suicidal thoughts. Reader has a breakdown and the guys help her through.
Eddie firmly barreled open the front door as he powerwalked into the house. Steve had texted those two words he dreaded every time he got a text from the former jock.
“Bad day.”
When they started dating you, you told them about your past. About the hospital stay and medication… the depressive lows and manic anxiety episodes… the thoughts that pushed through your head from time to time even though your life was so much better now than where it had been.
“I’m not…easy…to be with.”
“That’s ok, honey, neither are we.”
You three had laughed at that at the time.
The first time they experienced it broke their hearts for you. People always mentioned “feeling depressed” or “oh I’m so anxious about this thing!” but they discovered the true meaning of those words during your first break in front of them.
They hadn’t moved in with you yet so you were able to hide the fact that you hadn’t been sleeping. Your mind constantly reminding you of things that needed to be done and how you were a failure for not doing them. Nightmares plagued your dreams at all hours so you just gave up, scrolling through your phone instead as the mental illness continued to whisper.
“Do better. You’re lazy. May as well just get it over with and end the burden you put on people.”
That following evening you had a date night with them at their place and you couldn’t cancel. You genuinely wanted to see them but you were so tired…
“A good girlfriend goes out on dates. Go ahead. Cancel. Let’s see how quick they leave you for someone better.”
Through the first half of the movie they put on, your leg never stopped moving. Steve watched as your eyes never stayed focus in one place. Eddie felt your erratic energy radiate off you as you switched from holding his hand to letting go every few minutes.
“Baby? Is everything ok?”
“Yeah.”, you responded a bit too enthusiastically. “Yeah, Ed, I’m fine. I’m just…I’m just a bit tired. It’s ok. I’ll get over it.”
Steve paused the film and as his hand petted your head you broke down.
“I’m sorry. Fuck! Why can’t I be normal?! I’m ruining everything. You should just leave me and find someone better.”
“Hey, hey. No. Sweetheart, no one is better than you.”
“Talk to us, honey. What’s going on?”
You sobbed as you told them what had been happening over the last few days. The listened intently, comforting you anyway they could think of in that moment.
“They don’t go away, Steve. Those thoughts never go away. Most days I can manage them but they are always there. W-Who can I tell? If I tell a therapist or a doctor they will put me back in the hospital even though I’m not going to do anything… I can’t tell my friends because I feel like I’m burdening them or they just don’t care. I can’t tell people in general because then I’m being ‘overdramatic’. I can’t take time to heal because I’m supposed to ‘suck it up’. So I do… Eddie, I want my brain to just stop telling me I want to die because I really don’t. Some days, though, on bad days…it’s so loud…”
The metalhead yanked you to his chest as you cried, crying with you as he tightened his grip as if he could squeeze all your broken pieces back together. He’d give anything to take your pain away, they both would.
Today was a manic day and Steve picked up on it fast. Today was his day off and as soon as you woke up, you barely said a word. He asked you if you wanted breakfast and you shot him an angry look as you walked away. Turning on the tv, he put on the game but after a few minutes you came around the corner snapping at him to turn the noise down. Even when he muted the sound, he could hear you growling and swearing under your breath as you moved around the bedroom.
Other people would see it as you being a brat; causing drama for the sake of drama.
You wished you could make the world understand that was the opposite of what you wanted. In an episode like this everything was just…amplified…and for some reason your brain insisted it was on purpose. Steve was purposely turning up the volume to get under skin. The birds chirping outside knew you were on the edge so they gathered outside your window with intent. Even the clock on the bed side table was mocking you.
Both men tried to handle days like this by themselves but when it got to a certain point, they knew they needed to come together to help you. That point came when you abruptly screamed and threw something hard against the wall.
When Eddie entered the bedroom, Steve was off to the side watching you as you angrily paced, fluttering your fingers with eyes squeezed tightly closed.
“What happened?”
Your eyes open at the sound of his voice as you shrugged and threw your hands in the air.
“What happened? What the fuck happened?! Oh, I don’t know. Where do we start, Eddie?! This house is a fucking mess. I tell you guys all the time I need fucking help! I’m not a maid! I’m your girlfriend! But who fucking cares right?! We can just live in trash and be unhappy!”
They knew better than to respond. Before you three moved in together, you had suggested they come to therapy with you and they were surprised with some of the things they learned. They and even you knew they were more than accommodating when it came to housework and splitting household chores. When you were growing up, however, it was never enough.
“Jesus Christ, Y/N, look at this mess! Did you do anything today?!”
Little you looked around at the immaculate living room wondering what else you could have missed.
“I work and I slave all day at a job I hate so you can have food and a roof! The least you could do is fucking get off your ass and clean a bit!”
“I-I’m sorry, mama.”
“Don’t be sorry. Just do your job! We’re a team remember? I need you to pull your weight.”
They could almost see interactions like that replaying through your eyes and it killed them. They also saw how fast the logic brain took over as you realized what you were doing before the depressive brain abruptly took over.
“I’m sorry. I-I don’t mean to… I know I’m being crazy…I just…” You lean your back against the wall and slide to the floor with your hands over your ears.
Both men descend with you, crawling closer to you and as soon as Steve’s hand touches your bicep you head shoots up with eyes full of tears.
“I’m sorry. You two don’t deserve this. I’m a terrible girlfriend.”
“No, baby, you’re not terrible. Everything’s ok.”
“I-I-I appreciate…e-e-every…everything you guys do. Fuck. Everything is so loud, Eddie. I can’t… I couldn’t…I just wanted to scream…”
“Then scream.” You laughed at his response as you wiped your eyes but he insisted. “I’m serious, sweetheart. Just let go.”
“What about…about the neighbors?”
“Like they don’t get an earful almost every night.”, he jokes, grinning when you laugh again. “Go ahead. Just lean back and let loose.”
You roll your eyes as you do what he says but it’s a small shout that barely echoes in the room.
“Wow. That was both adorable and pathetic. Come on now. Steve, why don’t you try?”
Chuckling, he struggles to stop smiling making you giggle harder before finally closing his eyes and letting out a good scream that makes the metalhead clap.
“That’s the king of Hawkins right there! Now try again princess.”
Sighing at his antics, you do as he says actually letting go while they scrunch their face and cover their ears.
“Woo! That was like Banshee from X-Men! Way to go!”
“What about you, nerd?”, you ask as he smirks.
Eddie doesn’t even hesitate as he leans his head back and howls loudly like a wolf.
“I love you both.”, you softly grin as you reach for both boy’s hands. “I’m sorry for being…me.”
Wrapping his arms around your shoulders, Steve tilts you closer to him and kisses the top of your head.
“Don’t ever apologize for being you, honey. We love you. Every part of you.”
“We know everyday you’re trying, baby. Unlike your mother who insists on being an evil little gremlin.” You giggle at Eddie’s interpretation. “Like your wizard of a therapist said, healing takes time and we’ll be with you every step of the way.”
“Jesus, Munson, you ARE a nerd.”, Steve jests. “But the other stuff he said I agree with.”
“Oh please! Tell me her doctor doesn’t sound like Gandalf from time to time.”
“I still have no idea who that is.”
After rising to his feet, the metalhead grabs your hands and pulls you off the floor.
“Well, I know what we’re doing tonight.”, he announces with a mischievous smirk before kissing your lips and running back towards the living room.
“I’ll make dinner.”, Steve murmurs as he leans down to kiss your lips as well.
“Oh, you know he won’t allow that. He’s going to want you in front of the tv so you don’t miss anything.”
“True. Hm. How about Enzos delivered?”
When you nod, he caresses your cheek before disappearing after his friend.
As your eyes glance around the room again everything seems different than it did before. Instead of seeing a mess ridden, dark empty area, you saw a bright room filled with memories of the men you loved making you laugh and feel loved unconditionally.
“But for how long? It’s only a matter of time.”
“No, it’s not.”, you whisper.
Taking a deep breath, you head towards the living room where Eddie and Steve greet you with a comforting smile.

All I Need to Hear / Matty Healy x Reader
Tumblr media
This is just pure fluff I needed after a bad few days! Enjoy ❤️
It feels like a fake smile has been plastered on your face for the past few days. Everything has been stacking up around you and you can’t hide the fact that you are struggling. A bad day at work was seemingly what had broken you today and you just wanted to go home.
You’d originally planned to go and meet Matty at the studio, where he was in the middle of recording a new album but, you just couldn’t face being social. You were desperate for some time alone with Matty but knew at the minute that was a difficult thing to come by and not his fault at all. So, you planned to head back home, run yourself a bath and take some time to get lost in your current read. You don’t want to worry Matty, so you send him a text.
You: Hey babe, I hope the recording is going well. I know I said I’d meet you at the studio later but I’ve had a really bad day at work and I can’t face pretending I’m okay in front of the guys. I’m sorry! I know you are busy at the minute so no need to reply, I’ll wait up for you at home x
You’d hardly had the chance to put your phone back in your pocket when it started to ring. Matty’s name flashed up on the screen alongside his contact picture, one you'd snapped in the car last week on the way to an event, and you swipe to answer it immediately.
You don’t even get a chance to say hi before Matty’s worried voice comes through your phone speaker, “Y/N, are you ok?”
“Hi love, sorry if I’ve worried you. I’m fine. I’ve just had a horrible day at work and I can’t face being social and I’m ready to hide at home,” you reply.
You hear Matty tell the guys he won’t be a minute and head out of the studio before saying to you, “Do you need me to come home? I’m sure the guys will be okay on their own for the rest of the night.”
“No! Honestly, Matty, I’m ok. I think I just need to head home, have a bath, read my book and then hide under my blanket and watch some TV,” you reply hoping to reassure Matty that you’ll be fine.
“I won’t be long Y/N. When I’m home we can just sit in front of the TV, watch your favourite show and cuddle for as long as you like.” Matty responded.
“Thanks, Matty. I love you a lot and I’m sorry for not coming to the studio,” you apologise.
“No need to apologise Y/N, I would much rather you be comfortable at home. I love you and I’ll see you soon.” Matty says before you both hang up.
Even just hearing his voice has calmed you down a little and you can’t help but look forward to spending some time with him, and only him, later on.
-
You feel a lot calmer after having your bath and getting completely lost in your book for an hour. Taking yourself off to another world does wonders for your brain.
You were just getting changed into some comfier clothes and throwing one of Matty’s sweaters over your head when you heard the front door open.
“Y/N I’m home where are you?” Matty shouts from the front door.
“I’m in the bedroom babe. I’ll be down in a second,” you say as you turn off the light in the bedroom and head down the stairs.
Standing in the hallway was Matty with a huge smile plastered to his face. In one hand is a bunch of flowers and the other a tub of ice-cream.
“I wanted to put a smile back on that gorgeous face of yours,” he announced, “so I told the guys I was tired, and bought you a bunch of flowers and a tub of your favourite ice cream on the way here.”
You run at him, throwing your arms around his neck and kiss him affectionately. “Matty, you just being here has cheered me up a lot. You didn’t need to leave the guys early or buy me anything,” you insisted.
“I’ve missed you a lot and honestly a couple of hours with you is exactly what I need right now. The guys won’t miss me at all,” Matty says before taking your hand and leading you into the living room. “Now, get yourself comfortable under the blanket and find something to watch. I’ll get a vase for these flowers and bring in some bowls for the ice cream,” he states before heading off to the kitchen.
When he returns a few minute later with the bowls, you lift the blanket up allowing him to get cuddled up next to you.
“Matty, thank you,” you say turning your head to face him. “I’m so lucky to have you. I love you more than you will ever know.”
“I know it darling, because I love you even more than that” he replies as he tenderly kisses your forehead and pulls you into his chest.
Your day had definitely turned around.

Masterlist ♡ The Grey Man Masterlist
“Open your mouth,” Six says, reaching into the bowl of fruit. The blackberry looks tiny between his thick fingers. They're warm and dry as they slip past your lips to deposit the berry on your tongue. “Chew,” he says, withdrawing.
The berry is ripe enough that it melts in your mouth, sweet and tart. You sigh at the taste and rub your cheek against his thigh.
“You’re going to eat this whole bowl for me,” he says and you respond with a soft, yes sir.
He feeds you each piece of fruit by hand, peppering in praise for how well you’re doing and offering you a sip of water now and then. More than the fruit you love the feel of his fingers in your mouth, their heavy warmth, and the hint of salt on his skin. You think about having something else there. Another way you might make him happy and help yourself relax. The image has you pressing your thighs together and your heart racing.
With each soft word of encouragement and the building heat in your belly, you grow a little bolder. The next time he deposits a piece of strawberry in your mouth you close your lips around his fingers before he can withdraw. You suck on them, tongue curling around his thumb with a low moan.
Six inhales sharply, a ripple of something passing over his normally blank face. It’s only a moment but it’s enough to embolden you further. You lift your head and grasp his wrist, repeating the action with your tongue. He stares at you for a long moment, breathing shallowly. The hand you place on his upper thigh seems to snap him out of it. His jaw flexes and he pulls his fingers from your mouth.
“Sir….I’m sorry.” You draw back embarrassed, but he’s quick, leaning forward to grasp your jaw firmly. His face is impassive once more and when he speaks his voice is calm and measured.
"This is not why we’re here today,” he reminds you. Even though you want to look away from his intense gaze, you know you’re not supposed to do so you force yourself to keep looking.
He releases you and leans back, shifting in the chair before relaxing again. "Now, put your head back where it belongs," he says, picking up the bowl again.

Robert ‘Bob’ Floyd x Fem!Reader: Dating Mav’s Daughter
Pete/Maverick is your Dad. He’s dating Penny. You’re a WSO because as your dad says “you have a more brainy brain than aviators.” You’ve been friends with Bob since flight training. You started dating him 1 year ago after a dangerous mission you had together and you love him. Y/N = Your Name
Tumblr media
Y/N’s POV
I’ve been at Top Gun for 2 weeks. We’ve been practicing drills a lot today. My dad has me switch with different aviators all day, which stresses me out. I have to think like each of them thinks and anticipate how I can best help them. Everyone says they like having me fly with them, but I don't know if they’re lying or not. I’m drained from the day and want to sleep, but we’re going to the Hard Deck as a team to drink since we have tomorrow morning off.
I see my dad waving me over and I run over to him. My dad exclaims “Hey. Are you okay?” I answer “I’m just tired.” He replies “As your dad, I love you and want you to relax. As your captain, I think the team would like to have you there. I can tell that everyone is comfortable around you and I know sometimes it may seem like I push you a lot. I think you have a brilliant mind and a very friendly personality that helps in the air.” I reply “I know you mean well and you’re pushing me to succeed. I don’t think it’s too much. I can handle it.” He asks “Of course, you can, kid. You’re my daughter for Pete’s sake. Ah, see what I did there?” I laugh and he asks “So as your dad, are you and Bob dating?” I smile and answer “Yes. We’ve been dating for one year. We try to keep our relationship private because we don’t want anyone to treat us differently. How did you know?” He answers “He’s not great at hiding his feelings for you. I can also see how he gravitates toward you in a room of people and I can see him visibly relax near you. He also seems more open to sharing and talking near you. I think it’s great how you two bounce off each other’s ideas and uplift each other.” I reply “That’s really nice to hear, Dad.”  He says “Bring him over to me and Penny tonight. I want to meet him as your boyfriend.” I reply “Okay. But be nice, Dad.” He smiles and says “I always am, kid.” We hug and I leave.
After changing into more relaxed clothes for the bar, Phoenix and I head out in her car. The boys took their cars earlier. Phoenix asks “So are you and Bob ever going to do PDA at work?” I answer “No, Phoenix, we’ve talked about this. Bob and I want to keep our relationship private at work because we don’t want everyone in the Air Force world to know. Friends know and anyone who sees us out together would know, but we don’t want our love life to interfere with work.” She replies “Ugh you’re too sensible. I love you, Y/N. I told Bob to ramble today and he talked about how much he loves you. It was the sappiest and sweetest ramble that I’ve ever heard while I’ve been flying.” I reply “I did not have the same experience with Hangman.” She asks “Oh no, what did you talk about with him?” I answer “He asked about Bob’s favorite sex poses? I did not respond to that because it was unprofessional. I switched the topic to how Hangman has a lack of sex life. That really angered him and we’ve flown the best we’ve flown together today.”  She starts cracking up and cannot stop laughing until we arrive.
I notice the boys with several opened beers and a pool game going when we get there.
I walk over to Bob who smiles when he sees me. I stand between his legs and hug him. I say “My dad wants to meet you.” He replies “But I know your dad. Why does he need to meet me again?” I answer “He wants to meet you as my boyfriend.” He asks “How did he know?” I answer “He said that he sees your feelings for me on your face and how you find me in a room.” He replies “Oh, okay...” I poke him on the shoulder and ask “What’s up? What’s bothering you?” He answers “I’m sorry if I’m too obvious about my feelings. I try to hide them, but your face just lights up the room every time. I need cheering up sometimes. I know we keep our relationship private at work, but I like being around you. You’re my girlfriend, but you were my best friend first.” I smile and kiss him on the cheek. I then say “You’re so cute when you ramble about your love for me. I love you, baby. You are always welcome to be near me. I love being around you too and you make me the happiest human.” He smiles and we kiss.
Bob sighs and exclaims “Okay, let’s get this over with. Let’s go say hi to your dad.” I laugh and take his hand.
We walk over to my dad and Penny who are sitting at the end of the bar. I say “Hi Dad. Hi Penny.” They turn to face us and smile. My dad hugs me and so does Penny. I introduce Bob as Robert and my dad introduces himself as Pete. We talk about having a double date one day when we are all free. My dad asks Bob about his intentions with me and I laugh at his reaction. He just took a sip of water and just spewed it all over the seat next to my dad. Bob says “Uh sorry about that… I just …. Wow I did spit everywhere … Whew that was weird…” I notice his eyes grow panicky wide and I slide my hand over his. He tends to ramble and panic when he gets nervous. He’s so cute. I squeeze his hand as he inhales and exhales calmly. Bob continues “My intentions with Y/N… she is my world. We started as friends and we were best friends. I still remember that we only stopped being friends for one week because I insulted her to try to get in with the cool crowd. It was the worst thing I’ve done and I regret nothing more.” I reply “Babe, that’s not helping your case with my dad right now. You’ve beaten yourself up about that a lot, it’s okay. I love you and know you don’t think of me as an object to be won like those other idiots.” My dad asks “So, they were talking about women as objects?” Bob says “Yes sir. I told them the next day that I don't agree with them and why they should praise women. I went on this long rant about why we should support women and about women’s history in the Air Force. I know a lot about history, which can bore some. Those guys never wanted to talk to me again, but it’s okay because they were kicked off the mission for sexual harassment a few days after that. I’m not one for wishing karma on others, but I believe they got what was coming to them.” My dad says “I think you did what was right and that they deserved that as well. No one should ever treat women like that.” Bob replies “No they shouldn’t. I stand up for women now if I hear someone insult them... all that to say, I love Y/N and I want her to be happy. I think she’s a brilliant, impressive, beautiful, kind, loving, amazing girl. She lights up the room with her smile and personality. I heard you saw how I move to be with Y/N in a room and I have to tell you that I feel safe with her. She makes me feel safe, loved, trusted, and heard when I’m near her. She’s also my best friend and someone I can always rely on. I would love nothing more than a bright happy future with your daughter, sir.” Penny says “You are the sweetest boy. If I wasn’t twice your age and taken by Y/N, I would swoop you up.” My dad gasps and says “You didn't include me.” Penny sasses back “You haven't even asked me out properly.”
Oh snap!!! I do not want to be in this conversation right now.
I gently push Bob away back to our friends and we make it back to them.
Bob sits down and I sit next to him. I lean my head on his shoulder and he wraps his arm around me. I yawn and ask “How was your day today? I’m very tired.” He replies “I am stressed with the mission. Being on a plane with Phoenix is fun though because she thinks through her decisions more than my last partner on a mission. Why did your dad hold you back today?” I answer “He knows that I’m exhausted. He said that he’s pushing me because he knows I can succeed with the challenges thrown at me. He said that is why I switch aviators all the time. But, it stresses me out so much. I want to work well with everyone and I want to succeed as a WSO, so there’s not much I can change.” He replies “Babe, it’s stressing you. You should tell your dad to ease it up on you. Is there anything else stressing you out? I’m here for you, Y/N.” I reply “I don’t want to fail. As Maverick’s daughter, I have to succeed.“ He kisses me on the forehead and says “I love you and you’re an amazing WSO. I think you might be better than me. You’re not going to fail anyone least of all your dad. You were chosen to be at Top Gun because you are one of the best. You just have to believe it.” I reply “I may have been chosen for Top Gun, but this mission is dangerous. I want to make it back and I want to have a future with you.” He kisses me on the forehead again and says “We’ll be safe, Y/N. I know you and you’ll survive. I will too. We’ll have a future together. Speaking of, so you like me?” I laugh and he says “I’m kidding, babe. I love you and I can imagine the bright future we have. Do you think your dad likes me?” I answer “Of course. He has to.” He replies “I also wanted him to know that I respect women. If we have any sons, they will too.” I ask “Sons? Bob, are you pregnant?” He laughs and answers “No I’m not. I just love you and want a future with you.” I reply “Let’s finish this conversation after this death-defying mission we have coming up.” He smiles and we kiss.
THANKS FOR READING!!! I appreciate you. Comment with any requests or ideas:) ILY!!!

Kinger Can't Sleep
Paring: Kinger (TADC) x Reader Type: Platonic, fluff-ish Word Count: 987
Reader's gender is vague :P
Enjoy the result of my raging autism
Tumblr media
Today had been a long day. You haven’t been in the circus for a while so you’re still getting used to the shenanigans and your digital body. Oddly enough, you found Ragatha to be right about the routine of going to sleep every night being calming in a way. After slipping under the covers you close your eyes. You feel your head sinking into your pillow as you start to relax before hearing a soft knock and your door creaking open a crack.
“Psst… Psst! Hey y/n, are you awake?” It was the voice of Kinger, a tall king chess piece in a purple robe with white fur that had black spots on the edges. Although your bedroom was dark, the light in the hallway allowed you to see Kinger peeking his head into your bedroom. You sit up in bed and rub your eyes tiredly while mumbling softly to yourself.
“Yeah… I’m awake.” You mutter before yawning softly. After letting your eyes adjust to the darkness you noticed Kinger seemed nervous. Sure he’s always nervous, but right now he seemed like he was more nervous than normal.  “Did you need something?” With that question, Kinger put up his index finger and hesitated before responding.
“Okay, well… I’ve got a bit of a problem.” He pauses and quickly looks behind him. His gaze locks back onto yours while rubbing his hands together nervously before continuing. “I can’t- I can’t fall asleep! No matter what I do I just- it isn’t working. I need your help. Please please please can you help me?!” He started to sound more frantic as he begged you to help. What? Why is he begging me of all people to help him sleep? What am I supposed to do?
“Okay, okay! Just… calm down, please. I need to think of something.” You prop your head up with your hand, wracking your brain of ways to make people sleep. Maybe he needs something he can’t do on his own? But what would help that he’d need-
“AAAA!” You jumped and let out a short scream in response to Kinger’s sudden yell. Clutching your chest, you look and Kinger with wide eyes. He returns the wide eyed gaze, the awkward silence filling the air. The tension could be cut with a knife.
“What was that for?!” You asked in slight annoyance. Kinger shook slightly before responding. “Sorry! Sorry about that. I um, you were quiet for so long. I thought maybe you left.” What? How does that even- whatever. I need to think of a solution before he scares the s#!% out of me again. “Alright, well how about I tuck you in?” Kinger stares at you silently for a moment, making you feel a little nervous. “What do you mean?” He asks quickly. You let out a soft sigh and get up from your bed, walking over to the door. Kinger quickly backs away a bit and looks down at you. You grab his hand, making his eyes widen more. His gaze quickly shifts from your face to your hands.
“Here, I’ll do it for you.” You and Kinger start walking down the large hallway. This felt weird, like you were the older one and not him. You were too tired to dwell on the fact that you were holding his hand and practically pulling him back to his bedroom. If this comes up in conversation, it’s for future me to deal with. You thought to yourself.
Once you both get to Kinger’s bedroom you let go of his hand and stand with him in front of the doorway. His bedroom is fairly dark as well, the only things he has is his bed, a dresser, and a framed picture of his wife Queenie. He stands there nervously rubbing his hands while his eyes dart around the room. You gesture towards his bed, expecting him to get in. “Oh, right.” He chuckles a bit to himself while walking over to his bed and laying down. What decisions have I made that brought me to tucking in a man in his 40s? You ask yourself. You walk over to the side of his bed, tucking in the nearest side of his bed then leaning over and tucking the far side. While pulling your arm back, Kinger suddenly grabs your arm and keeps it draped over his body.
“Wh- what the heck? Why did you grab my arm?” You ask quickly in confusion. Your eyebrows knit together and you look around the bed before looking back at Kinger. He mumbles something incoherently then lets out a deep sigh, his eyes already closed. Wow, that was quick. You thought. He looked so peaceful in his sleep. Since it seemed he’s been riding the line between just being insane and abstracting, it’s nice seeing him so calm. Though it doesn’t help that he’s clinging onto your arm.
You try to gently get your arm out of his surprisingly tight grasp to no avail. You tried pulling your arm away but he started to gumble in his sleep. You stopped in hopes he’d stay asleep, but assumed that if you did pull your arm away you’d have to deal with his hands being attached to you still. Admitting defeat, you slowly try to lower yourself on the ground while keeping your arm on Kinger.
Great, now I’m not gonna get any sleep. You thought to yourself as you sat on his floor, your side pressed up against his bed. You let out a sigh, trying your best to be quiet. After admitting defeat, you rest you head on your shoulder, using it as a pillow. Hopefully you can still get some sleep. Of course you don’t really need it, but it would be nice. After a while of sitting there your eyelids start to feel heavier. Yawning softly and closing your eyes, you start to drift to sleep.

Tumblr media
“Hey, baby, how are you feeling?” Daveed quietly asked, sitting down on the bed and gently rubbing my arm.
I laid motionless, my mind blank.
“I’m not,” I responded. My voice was hoarse. How long has it been since I’ve said more than three words at once?
Daveed sighed and carefully helped me sit up. I rested against the headboard as he slowly unwrapped the bandages around my wrists. It was quiet as he cleaned the wounds, the only sound was our breathing. Oh how I wish I wasn’t breathing right now. He wrapped clean bandages around the cuts.
He sat, rubbing his thumb across the bandages.
“I love you so much,” He whispered and looked into my eyes. “We’ll get through this. You’ll get through this. I know you will, you’re so strong, my love,”
“Daveed,” I whispered, a happy glint filled his eyes, optimism flooded his bones.
“Yeah?” He whispered back.
“I don’t want to get through this,” I told him and laid back down, turning away from him.
He paused before getting up and leaving the room. I heard him. His sobbing. He’s breaking. Honestly, I couldn’t find it in myself to care.
The cycle repeated daily. He’d feed me, bathe me, change my bandages, then go have a breakdown outside our room when he didn’t see any improvement. Every day I’d hear him cry. Deep down my heart ached in him. He was the love of my life, of course it hurt to hear him cry. But my heart doesn’t control my body. My brain does. And my brain is dead. It doesn’t care. It doesn’t want to live. Even if it means making Daveed happy. Ain’t that selfish?
Today must’ve been particularly hard for Daveed. I could see it in his eyes when he came to give me food. He was tired. Exhausted. And when he left to cry nothing came. Until it did.
Loud crashes broke the silence. Grunts, and yells of utter pain and despair could be heard. His sobs echoed through the house louder than ever. Self-deprecating words cut through the silence. Something snapped in me.
I was letting myself die, and dragging Daveed down with me. I was not only killing myself, but killing the love of my life as well. What am I doing? Am I really so selfish that I’d ruin someone else’s life so I can be okay? No. The answer is no.
I pushed my aching bones and tired muscles. Slowly I lifted myself out of bed. A dizzy spell fell over me and I grabbed onto the wall for support. Carefully I made my way to the door and opened it. Pain coursed through my veins as I followed the sobs, but I ignored it. No more.
Daveed has helped me in ways I can’t even imagine. He’s putting his own mental health on the line for me. Me. Anyone else would’ve left me after a week of nothing but laying in bed. But he didn’t. He stuck around. And now I’ll stick around for him as well.
I entered the living room to find a hunched over Daveed. I only now noticed how his hair was a mess, he hasn’t been taking care of it. His clothes were wrinkled and in a disarray. I quietly walked over to him and knelt down behind him. His body shook as I wrapped my bulky, bandaged arms around him.
We stayed there for hours, gently rocking back and forth. We had each other. That’s all we needed.

Second part of the snz youtube eddie fic is here! Enjoy! :D
XXX
That next morning, Steve wakes up to a notification on his lock screen.
Catching a Cold?
Oh shit. Quickly, the barista clicks the notification and the Youtube app opens. He shoves his headphones on, not wanting Robin to hear. God, he's never going to get over that one. The screen is black as always, and the time stamp tells him the video is just over five minutes long. Swallowing, Steve closes his eyes and lays back.
"So uh, you guys know I moved," Eddie starts talking. It makes the man squirm instantly, now knowing what TheBanished looks like- better than he ever imagined.
"I thi'gk that maybe my body isn't used to such a cold windter, b-because...uhh-hh! Sohhr-hhy. snfSNF! because I've be'd here for two weeks a'hd...hh..I'm gohh'da...iIHGKshhEW! ihkGXchew! snf! weeks a'hd I'm a-hhlready...ihngKTshhuhEW! snfsnf! already sick.."
Steve breathes shakily as Eddie rubs at his nose, clearing his throat.
"A'hdyways, uh...snfSNF! fugck...ihK'eiSHHew! iiGhKSH'uhEW! h'EhGkishhuhew! snfsNF! I fou'd that tea ki'da helps my throat some, snf! There's this coffee shop nehh-hh! near me, a'hd the guy had me try some ki'd of lavender tea? Was agctually really g-good...ihKSHHh! hihGkSH! hihIKSHew!"
“Steve! We’re gonna be late come on!”
His entire body tenses and he rips his earphones out.
“Sorry! Sorry, be right out, overslept!“
They make it to the coffee shop with ten less minutes to get the place ready than they usually have, but Steve honestly wishes he could have finished listening first. The man works on getting the till out while Robin starts making the basic coffees.
During the morning rush, Steve looks for Eddie, thinking back to how he’d said the tea was good. He tries not to dwell on the fact he’s just ‘the guy’, tries to think about how Eddie had called him Stevie instead.
Time passes and Steve stands at the counter, elbows leaning on it as the rush finally dies. Robin walks up, a small smirk on her lips, like she has something she wants to say, but isn’t sure if she should.
“Can I help you?”
“Are you looking like a sad puppy because sick boy hasn’t shown?”
“First of all,” Steve huffs, glaring. “His name is Eddie. Secondly, no, I’m just tired.”
“How are you tired? You overslept.”
The retort Steve’s about to respond with dies on his lips when the door opens and Eddie walks in, looking decidedly worse than the previous day. He’s no longer in real clothes, instead he’s got black joggers and a faded Metallica sweatshirt on, his skin paler and cheeks slightly flushed.
“Go ahead and make that tea again,” Steve suggests to Robin, who rolls her eyes fondly and nods.
“Eddie, hey, how’re you f-“
“h’ihgTsh’ew! ihKkshhEW! hIHGkSHew! Guh…”
The sneezes are aimed into the inner part of his sweatshirt, the neck pulled up over his face. They sound congested and undeniably sick, scraping at his throat on the way out. Steve isn’t sure if he feels sympathy or desire. Maybe a little bit of both.
“I guess that answers that,” Steve jokes good-naturedly.
“Sorry, ki’da kicki’g my ass,” he sniffles again and rubs his face with the sleeve cuff that’s over his hand. “I’m go’dda grab a tea a’d the’d head out, do’t need you getti’g sick too.”
Steve and Robin both wince at just how congested and croaky his voice is. The overwhelming urge to bring this man he doesn’t even know into his arms floods Steve’s brain and he crosses his arms, shaking his head.
“It’s okay, really. You can’t help it.”
The long haired man rubs his face again and Steve glances to see Robin finishing up steeping the tea. Eddie grabs his wallet and the barista shakes his head, hair wobbling from the volume of it.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s on the house today.” Steve can’t help but smile as the other man’s jaw drops a little and his brow furrows. With his nose this pink and circles under his eyes, he desperately wants to reach out and brush hair out of the mans face, maybe check for a fever.
“I ca’dt let you do that, I ca’d pay.”
“Nah man. Besides, Robin and I make free drinks for ourselves all the time. Think of it as me making myself tea but deciding I don’t want it,” Steve assures, looking into Eddie’s big brown eyes.
“….fi’de. But just this once. Tha’gk you guys.”
Robin holds out the large cup of tea across the counter, giving him a sympathetic smile. Eddie takes it and puts both hands around the cardboard, probably warming his hands. Steve wonders if he’s cold, but then reminds himself it’s autumn and he’s sick. Of course the guy is cold. Warmth pools in his stomach, a desperate feeling that he wishes he could ignore. He just wants to help.
For a moment, Steve notices as Eddie’s nose twitches and his pink nostrils flare, eyes fluttering, but then nothing happens. He scrubs at his nose and sniffles, coughing quietly into his arm.
“I’b go’dda head out, but…Tha’gk you agai’d.” He says it with a smile, even if it’s a tired one, and Steve feels butterflies in his stomach.
“I hope you feel better,” Steve finally manages, as Eddie’s walking out the door, knowing he probably hadn’t heard him.
“Damn you got it bad,” Robin snorts. “You usually never make drinks for yourself.”
“Get back to work,” the co-manager huffs, and Robin salutes him, grabbing a towel to wipe down the counter with.

I think I need to do this daily. Just to get everything out of my head.
I wanted to really confront Shelly today about the opinions she has of me, but I decided it wouldn’t do anyone any good. I wasn’t overly talkative or friendly today like I normally was. I only worked for 5 hours this morning, I enjoy the short shifts. Terri offered me another short shift next week so I can get closer to my full time hours. I may as well take them while they are available.
I have $594 left on my furniture bill, I’m going to pay $144 next week and then start paying $150 every month after that. I should have it paid off by the end of the year. Capital One, I owe $397. A minimum payment of $25 is due by September 17, but I’m going to try to pay $125 or $150, so I can get that account fixed right. As far as the phone bill, I’ll start buying my own cards at Walmart so I don’t also have to pay for his phone, since they’ve bundled out accounts together.
Bella needs an eye appointment. I scheduled one today, but it’s over a month away and they don’t accept her insurance. So, that would be $227 for just the appointment - more if she needs glasses. Granny also told her she could get her an appointment with her doctor. I told Bella she could go with either of us, preferably whichever appointment is sooner. In the meantime, I’ve told her to ask to be moved closer to the front of the class. Also, they both have lice.
Today wasn’t a terrible day. I was tired from closing last night and going in at 7 am today, but 5 hours isn’t so bad. I don’t get morning shifts too often, and I like having the rest of the day for myself. I came home and washed all my bedding, shampooed myself for lice, just in case. I fell asleep for nearly 4 hours afterwards.
Afterwards, I woke up with the intention to read outside, but as usual, I sat there with a book in my lap and the phone in my hand. I smoked a little, was listening to music in my headphones and decided a drive sounded really lovely. So, I just drove around for about an hour in the dark singing my little heart out.
I came home and ate what was left of my subway while I watched tennis. Then, I started on my ASL courses. First study was just the alphabet, which I mostly knew but a brush up was needed.
Jon irritated me today. I just felt like he kept correcting me about things. I kind of stopped talking and responding. I’m trying to figure out why it bothered me so much. Maybe I don’t like being corrected? I don’t like being wrong? It makes me feel stupid? I have a deep concern about being stupid or being perceived that way. But I don’t want to be so concerned about being seen that way that it stops people from sharing their own knowledge, or stop myself from being able to learn from others.
For now, I’ve just told him that my social meter is low and I may go to bed soon. At first, I texted out the response “Are you just going to correct me all day?” Then I deleted it, because that’s not how I want to come across.
**Macy just called “Hey, random ass question, what’s your shutdown code so I can leave this fucking store?” 😆
Eventually, I just kind of made a joke about him being pedantic and then said what I did about my social meter. I’m sure he would understand if I presented it to him in a direct and honest way … I just hate even … I don’t like telling him something he did that I didn’t like … but that’s unfair isn’t it? Because then he’ll keep doing it and it’ll make me more upset and then what good is that …or am I just being fucking touchy? My brain overthinks everything.

Owlish is back, Heh!
(Also reminding you on maybe tagging stuff as owlish again, but like, it's not supposed to come off as annoyed or mean cause I would've forgotten as well!)
Neutral and stable sounds good compared to before!
Also not having cried for 2 days.
I'm really sorry for you but glad that it sounds like it's getting at least a little better (also I'm very sorry cause while I love listening to people (I care about) talking about how they are feeling and why, I'm super awkward when it comes to responding)
Thank you ❤️ I‘ll gladly tell you as well!
Yesterday, I had a very positive therapy session which let me leave with a positive feeling instead of annoyed or hurt as usually (I dislike my therapist but if I’ll state that I can‘t work with her, I have to leave the psych ward and I definitely can’t do that right now. She‘s not very understanding of my problems and also there‘s quite a few things she said that made me feel unsafe so I can barely open up at all)
Also, on the way back with two friends from another therapy today we talked about owls (they’re my special interest) and they were super positive and we talked about how a few owls look like you walked in on them doing something (Micrathene whitneyi) or they look mad/judging (Athene cunicularia) and we laughed about it. It just made me feel great cause usually people dislike me talking about stuff I love and especially when it’s about owls for some reason, but they were just so positive. It was awesome!
Now I’m just super tired cause I had to take additional meds today due to being very antsy and not being able to calm down at all, I‘m cold cause my body has trouble to regulate its own heat and breathing is a bit hard due to me wearing my binder for probably a little way too long by now (but I don‘t have the energy to undress to take the thing off either)
Also I’m looking forwards to meeting the person I’m closest with here (she‘s on another ward) this evening (she constantly has to listen to me talk about Ghost but she‘s so sweet about it XD (she can’t remember anything but tries her best and she thinks I’m cute when I get excited about stuff (I‘m insecure about excitement due to expressing it through stimming, you know, but she‘s making me feel good about it))
So it‘s overall a feeling rather on the positive side which is strange but nice!
Wishing you the best too :D
~owlish anon
(omg yes I'm so sorry!! I noticed it today cause there was a like that came in on it and I went "oh, right, did I tag that correctly?" once I saw the aks in my notifications again, and lo and behold nope I had not XD So I tagged it right away but it was too late uh. Dude I'm so sorry, I'm such a creature of habit I have a hard time remembering new tags and stuff. I have someone else who came on the blog asking me to tag unmasked ghoul content and I feel it's sure some slipped by me despite trying and like XD I'll try more hahahaha thank you for the reminder dear, I appreciate it!)
Fuck yeah dude!! I'm at 4 days without crying now, beginning my 5th! It is Going! I appreciate your support ❤️
I'm so glad to hear you were able to benefit from a positive therapy session despite a having a therapist that's not a good fit for you. That's so hard. I've been in situations before when I put up with therapists that clearly were not right for me because I knew if I didn't take these sessions I'd be pushed back on the waiting list for 8, 10, 12 months, and I didn't know how to make it 12 months on my own you know. I knew session 1 there would be no theraputic alliance or trust from me whatsoever, but I figured I could at least gather tools and information to apply by myself at home. There can always be small things you take from crappy sessions that can stay in your brain and be a tool you have in your arsenal for the future.
Awww dude owls are so cool! I'm so happy you got a positive interaction where you could share about them! But hey! Hey dude! If you wanna share your favorite facts about owls or species or pictures in the future or something? I'm here! I love birds. I got super interested in the birds I could observe at my parent's house back in the day, the backyard / edge of the woods birds. I'd listen to cries and identify new ones I didn't recognize and photograph the bird feeders and stuff. So I know lots about, like, 15 birds species maybe xD Which is not much but that's what I would see daily. I know we have owls locally but I've not seen them so I didn't research them. Then again with a lot of them being super well camouflaged, it makes sense I didn't see any. So yeah, I'd love to learn more! Feel free to come to my ask box if it feels like a safe space to share, I'm interested in what you know and have to teach! :D
I hope you can get some rest, get warm and get comfortable dear. That's important.
And I'm thrilled to hear you've had someone to chat about Ghost with after that! Believe me I know a thing or two about being shut down for showing excitment or talking about a special interest. I was told all my childhood and teen years I was too loud or I talked too much or to lower my voice. Even now as an adult with a long time partner, I still apologize to her when there's something I love I inadvertedly talked about without asking for permission first. Its trauma dude. I get it. It's hard to get rid of. I hope you can find someone who will be genuenly invested in your interests in the future like I did. My partner doesn't give much of a fuck about metal or Ghost for instance, she's not a metalhead, but she happily lets me talk her ear off whenever something happens with the band or about the lore and the ghouls and she reads my fics even if she doesn't know the context and that makes a world of difference in terms of learning that your interests matter too. Cause they do. Owls are cool as fuck, Ghost is cool as fuck, and those subjects deserve respect by the sheer value of them being something you love. I see you.
Take care out there ok! Talk soon!

Pillow Talk
A/N: i will never apologize for being horny on main
AO3 Link
Pairing: Loki x Reader
Word Count: 3.4k
Summary: After an entire day of staring at you in that bikini, Loki is left utterly desperate for release. Good thing he sleeps with a lot of pillows.
Tags: masturbation, phone sex, pillow humping, needy!Loki, pining
Loki shifted on the bed, mashing his face roughly into the satin pillow case. It was nearly dawn, and he hadn’t slept. Even the tiniest hint of sleep had evaded him, and he’d tossed and turned enough to make his muscles ache in protest. With a frustrated growl, he rolled onto his back and pressed the heels of his hands into his eyes until he saw stars. This was never going to work.
He had no one to blame but himself for his insomnia. Really, it was pathetic, the way his mind had latched onto one silly little human and made her the object of his obsession. You with your silky hair and soft eyes, keeping him up until the morning hours. Your melodic voice rang in his eardrums, and every time he closed his eyes, he’d see that perfect skin of yours and wish it was pressed up against--
With a gasp, Loki swiftly brought his hands down to grasp the sheets in agony. He wished he could blame it on the fact that he hadn’t bed anyone in at least a decade, but he knew himself. Celibacy had never been an issue for him in the past; he wasn’t a teenage boy, he could control his needs. But you had him feeling like one all over again. The way he gawked at you like it was his first time seeing a pair of breasts nearly spill out of a way-too-tight tank top, it was downright shameful. You were just so innocent, so pure, and he longed to see that smile collapse into a pout as you whimpered against his lips.
Despite his best efforts, Loki could feel his cock throb in renewed need. It had been begging for release nearly all night, and Loki had successfully ignored it so far. He held steady in his determination in not giving in, but his resolve was slipping. Today has been especially tortuous. Tony and his goddamn insistence that Loki participate in team bonding. A day at the beach, one which Loki spent lounging in the hot sand shielding his eyes from the blinding sun. You had splashed around in the waves with Natasha and bounced around in a bikini that seemed specifically designed to torture Loki. The bottoms had shifted themselves to ride up quite a few times, and Loki had taken pleasure in watching you reach back with slippery fingers to pull them out of your ass.
Loki’s cock throbbed again, almost violently this time. He moaned softly into the open air. The sound was pained, and Loki felt his hand begin to drift towards the string of his pajama bottoms. They were silk, and because Loki had chosen to forgo underwear, the soft material felt like heaven against his swollen erection. Before his fingers could slip inside to where he needed them most, Loki ripped them away in defiance and turned onto his side, tangling the blanket between his legs as he rolled. The pressure of the thick comforter into his crotch made Loki suck in a surprised breath. His hips twitched upward of their own accord and Loki’s eyes fluttered in pleasure.
Loki could feel his will dissolving with every jolt of pleasure that swam up his spin. His mind spun with images of you: you curled up against him, reaching back with your dainty hand to pull him closer to you, encouraging him to grind against your backside. As if he was in a daze, Loki grabbed one of the many pillows adorning his bed and shoved it between his legs. The firmness of the pillow was so much more satisfying than the blanket, and Loki groaned.
It was over, he had accepted defeat. Loki was about to hump his pillow like an animal and it was all your fault. He thought of that wet bikini sticking to your skin, your breasts bouncing as you jogged back up the beach to him and breathed out a “what’s up” like he wasn’t about to cum in his swim trunks just from watching you. As the memories danced through his head, Loki’s hips began to roll in more deliberate motions. With every thrust, his cock pressed up against the soft material of his pants. Loki could feel the pre-cum wetting the silk, but it only served to amplify his pleasure as the damp fabric clung to his skin.
The buzzing of his phone startled Loki out of his fantasies, and he nearly wanted to throw the thing against the wall. Tony would get him a new one, as he always did no matter how many times that Loki had insisted they were unnecessary devices. As much as he wanted to let it ring, Loki had learned that calls at this hour usually meant an unexpected mission, and he’d be back on house arrest if he didn’t answer. Loki reluctantly leaned over to his bedside table to grab the vibrating object, keeping the pillow between his legs. His heart came to a near stop as he saw your name illuminated on the screen.
A few moments passed as Loki stared dry-mouthed at the caller ID, wondering when he had fallen asleep. Because the only explanation for you calling him in the middle of the night was that he was dreaming. Sure, you had texted him the occasional internet video that you thought he’d enjoy, but had never called him. And certainly not at five in the morning. With a hard swallow, Loki hit the “accept call” button and waited.
“Hey, Loki?” Came your tired-sounding voice. It wasn’t as gorgeous when muffled by the phone static, but it gave Loki shivers nonetheless.
“What is this about?” Loki tried to sound as irritated as possible, figuring that would be the proper reaction to receiving a call this early. The truth was that he was elated to hear your voice, and was disgusted by himself. A mortal, making him this weak in the knees, it was absolutely pathetic.
You were silent for a moment. “I’m sorry, I just couldn’t sleep. I-I’m not really sure why I called you, I’m sorry for waking you up. I’ll just--”
“Wait!” Loki burst out before you could end the call. His loud voice echoed back at him in the silent room and he cringed, hoping that no one had heard him. Loki bit his lip anxiously, uncertain of what to say to keep you on the line. “Um, I was awake. I couldn’t sleep either.”
“Oh, I guess that’s good. Well, not really good that you can’t sleep, I mean good that I didn’t wake you.”
Loki chuckled at your awkward ramblings. Norns, you were so cute. “Don’t worry, pet, I know what you meant.” As the words left his lips, Loki’s eyes widened as he realized what he’d just called you. Pet. It had been a slip of the tongue, but it brought forth a whole new round of fantasies. He couldn’t help but imagine about what it would be like to own you, to grab you by your pretty face and push his cock between your lips over and over. Absent-mindedly, Loki began to move his hips against the pillow again. He had to bite down on his tongue to keep from gasping. As quietly as he could manage, he put the call on speaker and set the phone down beside him so he could lie back on his side and resume his earlier activities. Loki knew it was so, so wrong to do this while you were none-the-wiser, but he couldn’t help it. He had been so worked up for so long and now it was like his body had taken over, hell bent on getting the relief it needed.
“So, why couldn’t you sleep?”
“Oh, just lost in my thoughts, I suppose,” Loki said as his eyes fell shut. His voice was the slightest bit strained, the soft drag of his pants against his cock making it hard to focus.
“Yeah, same here.” You sighed into the phone, and Loki heard a bit of rustling as you presumably got more comfortable. “I have trouble sleeping a lot, actually. I guess I just get lonely.”
A heavy weight of guilt sank into Loki’s chest. Here you were, opening yourself up to him, and he was trying to get off to the sound of your voice. He was truly depraved, that was for sure. But fuck, the tired rasp to your voice and the small sighs you let out were sending him sky high. His mind was running wild with fantasies of you under him, you in his lap, you up against the wall as he fucked you into it. Loki fought to sound normal as he responded to you. “I understand. Most beings are very social creatures, we need company to--ah!” A particularly rough thrust of his hips had caught Loki off guard as the mind-numbing pleasure rocketed through his body.
“Are you okay?”
“Yes, pet,” Loki said, panting as he forced his hips to still. “Just stretching.” It was a lame excuse, but Loki was too far gone to come up with anything better. His body quaked as he tried to keep still, like his own muscles were attempting to disobey his brain. Everything in him was screaming out for more. Cum, you need to cum. Once again, Loki was forced to give in as his hips resumed their grinding. The pillow itself was now damp with how much he was leaking, and it felt amazing.
The phone was quiet, and Loki could almost hear how hard you were thinking on the other end. And then: “Loki, are you...masturbating?” Your voice trailed off as you said that word. The sheer embarrassment was evident in your tone, and Loki was almost astounded at how bold you were. Not many humans had the nerve to just up and ask something like that.
Even through the shock of being caught, Loki could not find it in him to be surprised that you had caught on. You had always come across as intelligent to him, it was foolish to think he could fool you with a half-hearted excuse. Still, it was beyond humiliating to have been called out so brazenly. Loki saw no point in denying it; you would not have asked if you weren't sure. “Yes,” he replied, voice cracking as he froze in place for the second time. Despite the embarrassment, Loki’s erection did not not falter. In fact, it seemed that he only got harder. This mortal would be the death of him.
“O-oh!” You seemed surprised, like you hadn’t expected him to come right out with it. “I’m so sorry, I guess I interrupted you, huh? Shit, I’m sorry.” How absurd. Loki was the one shamelessly rubbing himself against a pillow while talking to you, and you were the one apologizing.
Loki found it intriguing that you hadn’t hung up immediately upon learning of his actions. You hadn’t seemed disgusted at all, just apologetic for interrupting his activities. Loki wasn’t sure if your lack of repulsion was what caused it, or if it was simply his need clouding his judgement, but his mouth began to move before he could stop it. “It’s excellent for sleep. I highly recommend it for nights like these.”
There was no sugar coating it; that was a proposition, no matter how poorly disguised it was as simple advice. “Um,” came your faint reply. Loki’s face burned as he pictured the look of horror you were probably wearing at the moment. And then he nearly swallowed his tongue as you spoke again. “Yeah, I tried earlier. Wasn’t really...working.”
A new gush of blood found its way into Loki’s cock at your admission. He couldn’t help but imagine you writhing on your bed, soaked in sweat and your own slick as you tried desperately to get to that crescendo of pleasure. His blush had somehow grown even stronger, and he couldn’t recall the last time he had even blushed at all. This mortal was killing him, you were his executioner and he was begging for you to pull the trigger.
“That’s quite unfortunate,” Loki managed through his reverie. He was still frozen, almost scared to begin his motions again for fear of cumming on the spot. His cock twitched in time with his racing heart, occasionally dripping precum into his pants. Loki was a mess, but he could not bring himself to care in the slightest. All that mattered was the arousal screaming under his skin and your intoxicating voice in his ears.
“Yeah. Sorry, should I go? And let you, y’know, finish?”
Loki racked his brain for an excuse to get you to stay. It was maddening, how quickly you had ruined him. Seduction was one of his many talents, as was manipulation. In the past, he would have had no trouble at all talking someone into his bed and onto his cock, but you were different. Every flirtation died on his lips the moment he was in your presence, and it was all he could do to form complete sentences as you turned his knees to jelly.
After an excruciating period of silence as Loki thought, he finally spoke. “It would be unfair of me to abandon you in favor of pleasuring myself when you cannot do the same.”
This time it was your turn to stay quiet. Loki waited anxiously, half-expecting you to just leave anyway. He had already come to terms with your disinterest in him, you were probably just being polite. But...you had called him. There must have been at least a slight attraction for Loki to have been on your mind after attempting to get yourself off.
“Maybe we could…” There was a tremble to your voice as you trailed off, and Loki held his breath as he waited for you to finish. Whatever your suggestion ended up being, he was ready to enthusiastically agree. Anything that involved you and pleasure was incredibly enticing. “Maybe we don’t have to hang up, then.”
Loki’s eyes went wide. Did you mean…? An involuntary moan fell from his lips as he shivered at the thought. “I would, mm, not be opposed to that idea.” Loki’s body had won over for the final time that night and his hips began to move again. After restraining himself for so long, feeling that delicious friction once again nearly overwhelmed him.
“I don’t really know how to do this,” you said. “I can’t really believe I actually asked you that.”
“Would you like instruction, pet?”
“That might help, yeah.”
Loki began to wonder if he was dead, and this was his version of Valhalla. Whatever the case, he was going to ride this high for as long as he could. Everything else seemed to fade into the distance: the chirping of birds outside as the sun rose, the hum of the traffic down below, all of it meant nothing. It meant nothing because you were on the other side of the phone asking for Loki to tell you how to touch yourself. Loki took a deep breath and tried to get a hold of himself; he needed to let you catch up before he could allow himself to lose control.
“I want you to get undressed, and get comfortable.” That was a simple enough command, Loki figured. If he started slow, maybe he could reign in his pathetic neediness and focus solely on your pleasure.
“Okay, I can do that.” The speaker went quiet as you presumably settled onto your bed and slipped out of your pajamas. “Now what?”
“Touch your breasts,” Loki said. His breathing was heavy, but even as he settled into the role of your instructor. “Rub your fingers across them, tell me how it feels.”
You sighed happily. “It feels really nice. Can you tell me what you’re doing?”
Loki was a bit ashamed to admit that he was currently grinding into a pillow, but figured there was no point in lying. “I’m, uh, I have a pillow between my legs, and I’m rubbing against it.”
A whimper burst from your lips. “Oh, that’s so hot.”
“Is it?” Loki asked hesitantly. He didn’t feel very attractive; slick trousers and sweat coated skin, fighting hard to hold it together.
“Yeah, fuck. Can I touch myself, please?”
Loki wanted to drag it out a bit longer, to tease you, but he couldn’t find it in himself to say no to that pretty voice. Especially when you asked so nicely. “Go ahead, pet. You’re such a good girl.”
There was a faint slick sound, then a drawn out moan. Loki groaned in response, the sound extracting a full body shiver from the god. He had never heard such alluring sounds of pleasure, you were just so far above any other being he had ever met. “That’s it,” he murmured in encouragement.
“Feels so good,” you said, voice growing high pitched. “Shit, I’m not gonna last too long. Ah, fuck. Been needing this all night.”
Loki sucked in a breath and began to thrust with more fervor. His eyes nearly rolled back at the pressure and his thighs squeezed around the pillow. “That’s okay, darling. I, oh--” Loki cut himself off with a strangled moan as his pleasure mounted. “I need to cum, too.”
For a moment, panting and whimpered moans were the only thing coming through the speaker. Loki prayed that you were as close as he was, because the coil tightening in his stomach threatened to snap at any moment. It was all he could do to keep from allowing his release to overtake him before you got yours. “Please, pet. I want to hear you cum,” he ground out as his eyes fell shut.
“So close,” you whined. “Loki, I’m gonna cum.”
He couldn’t help it. Loki’s control disintegrated as he began rutting into the pillow like a wild animal. His hips moved in sharp, quick thrusts, and quiet moans left his lips with every movement. ‘Cum--fuck, mm--cum for me, love.” He was going to cum, he couldn’t stop. He just needed you to finish first.
The phone crackled as you let out a sharp cry of pleasure. Loki listened in a trance, trying to memorize every noise that left your lips as you climaxed. Your sounds spurred him on, and he found himself tipping over the edge, cumming harder than he had in a long time. Pleasure whited out his vision, and Loki could faintly hear himself whining your name in a broken voice. He didn’t get the chance to be embarrassed about the noise; his cock pulsed in dizzying waves of euphoria, spurting out rope after rope of hot cum. It shot into his pants, soaking them all the way through and seeping into the pillow. It wasn’t until the last drop had left his body that he was finally able to stop the groans that had been bubbling up from his throat.
As the pleasure subsided, Loki sagged against the bed and took in the mess he had made. His pants were ruined, no doubt about that. And the pillow? Well, it would most likely need a few good washes. But he felt sated, too relaxed to even care about the cum drying to his thighs.
“Are you still there?”
Fuck, he had almost forgotten that you were still on the phone. “Yes,” he croaked out. “That was…”
“Amazing,” you finished for him. Though you couldn’t see him, Loki nodded in agreement.
The bed suddenly felt very large and very empty after the daze of Loki’s orgasm faded. He found himself wishing that you were here, so he could wrap his arms around that perfect waist and bury his nose in your hair. It was an incredibly foreign feeling; Loki had never been one to cuddle after sex. But then again, everything about you was different. You were special. Loki opened his mouth, ready to invite you to his room, but something stopped him. What if this had been just a spur of the moment thing for you? What if you only saw him as a tool to get yourself off?
“Would it be weird if I came down there?” You asked, startling Loki out of his thoughts. There you went again, calming his anxieties before he even had the chance to feel them.
A relieved grin broke out on his face, and his heart sped up again in excitement. “No, I would very much enjoy that.” And for the first time in a very long time, Loki felt wanted.

could you do like,,,,gaster x reader maybe :O like if the reader was a scientist with him and they scolded eachother for not sleeping at good times and took breaks together or sum-
Hello! Sure thing! Also, sorry that the ending is a bit rushed. I may go back through later and polish it up a bit, but I think it will do for the time being. I hope you enjoy! Thank you for the request; I absolutely adore writing for Gaster. Gaster x Reader fics are so underrated!!
Pairing: Gaster x Reader
Warnings: mild cussing
...
The Fifth Phalange Promise
Your brain is dying.
Okay, so that might be an exaggeration, but it sure as hell feels like it. You rest your head on the table, a cup of your preferred hot beverage next to you.
It’s break time. Your favorite time of day right now – half an hour of doing absolutely nothing.
“Tired?”
You lift your head from its resting place, seeing one of your coworkers standing across from you. It’s none other than W.D. Gaster, standing there in his lab coat bearing a cup of monster-brewed coffee.
“A little,” you say with a soft sigh. “Nothing I can’t handle, though.”
He’s quiet for a moment as he studies you with his piercing gaze. “May I sit with you?”
“With…me?” you question, a bit of color dusting your cheeks. Gaster never sat with anyone – like you, he had never taken breaks previously until Asgore found out and forced you both to start doing so. When that happened, he only ever sat in his office, where he probably was sneaking some paperwork in rather than resting.
“That’s what I said.”
“Uh, sure,” you say, gesturing to the chair. He takes a seat and sets his mug on the table.
Wow. This feels odd. Sure, you work with Gaster on a bunch of projects, but it never went beyond a professional level. This feels…weird. More personal. You decide that you simultaneously hate it and love it.
And by the looks of it, you’re not the only one who finds this odd of Gaster. You notice that coworkers passing through are glancing at the two of you strangely.
“How long did you sleep last night?” Gaster questions suddenly. Short, and to the point. At least he’s not totally out of character.
“Enough,” you reply.
“If you slept enough, you wouldn’t have bags underneath your eyes.”
You huff an unamused laugh. “How long did you sleep, hm?”
That shuts him up. He averts his gaze, scoffing a bit.
“Very well.”
You chuckle, an idea forming. “That’s what I thought. But I think I have an idea of how long.”
“Do you really?” he challenges, leaning back in his chair.
You nod. “We were both working on the chain of custody processing until about midnight last night. It was a very sudden and large crime, so it took us a while to get it all done. Then, you went to go help the forensics unit analyze the evidence afterhours. Then, I saw you leaving at about three in the morning. And you got here today at five. So that puts you at less than two hours.”
“Observant, aren’t you?” he mumbles. “But you’re not much better. Because I happened to see you leaving at that time as well.”
“I’m really not,” you admit with a chuckle. You sip on your drink before realizing it’s gone cold, causing a frown to appear on your face.
“What is the matter?”
“Cold drink,” you say, tossing the disposable cup in the trash.
“I could use a refill. Care for a trip to Muffet’s bakery? We should have enough time.”
Your eyes widen. Gaster?! Asking you to go get coffee?! What?! Fuck it, you’re in.
“I’d like that,” you reply, smiling as you stand. Gaster offers a small smile in return. The two of you proceed to exit the building.
The day is overcast, but the temperature is just right. You sigh, inhaling the fresh air. You forgot how refreshing that was.
“It’s a nice day,” Gaster says.
“It is. It’s good to have some fresh air,” you note. A bit of movement catches your attention, as you notice Gaster is holding his arm out to you. It takes you a second to realize that he’s offering to link arms.
Wait wHAT-
You smile, sliding your arm against his. The cloth of his jacket rubs against your skin, but it’s not a bad feeling. You can feel his bones underneath too.
“To Muffet’s!” you declare, marching in the café’s direction. You’re quickly stopped when Gaster doesn’t budge.
“It’s this way,” he replies, smirking a bit as he points in the other direction.
“Oh,” you say, blushing as you chuckle nervously. “Right. I suck with directions.”
“I can tell.”
“Shut up,” you say jokingly. He smiles before the two of you quietly walk alongside each other on the sidewalk, your mind and heart racing the entire time.
This is insane. What is happening?!?!?!?!
Thankfully, Muffet’s isn’t far away, and the two of you are there in no time.
The bell above the door jingles, catching Muffet’s attention. Her eyes widen once she sees the two of you and your linked arms. You sigh, knowing you’d be grilled about this since you’re a regular here. Her gaze immediately flickers to you. You respond to her questioning gaze with an “I’ll-tell-you-later” look.
“Good morning, dearie. Gaster, it’s been a while,” she greets.
“Hey, Muffet!”
“Good morning. It has indeed. I trust you’ve been well?”
“I sure have. What can I get for you two?”
After the two of you have ordered and received your drinks, you settle down at a table together.
“Muffet’s coffee is way better than the crap we have at the lab,” you say.
“I agree. Hers is not as bland.”
“We should ask Asgore to replace ours with Muffet’s brand,” you note, taking another sip.
“Or we could just come here on break from now on,” Gaster suggests with a small simper.
You nearly choke on your coffee before you regain your composure. You return his smirk. “Only if you get a healthy amount of sleep tonight.”
“I will only if you do as well.”
You scoff, but sigh in defeat. “Alright. Pinky promise?”
“What?”
“Pinky promise,” you say, sticking out your pinky. “It’s the ultimate form of trust that you will fulfill your promise.”
“I don’t understand. What do I do to fulfill my end?”
“Just wrap your pinky around mine. Like this!” You demonstrate with your other hand.
“Ah. Very well then. It’s a fifth phalange and metacarpal promise.” Gaster then wraps his pinky bone around your hand, and the deal is sealed.
“Epic,” you reply, grinning.
You two decide to stay for a few minutes, and chat for a while. That is, until Muffet comes to collect your trash.
“Don’t you two have to return to work?”
Your eyes widen as you scramble for your phone.
“We’re late!”

Spencer could not stand his new upstairs neighbor.
she had moved in a few months ago. he had never met her (he assumed she was a girl based on the fall of her footsteps and the music she would sometimes blast) but she always seemed to be up when he was getting home from a case. infact, she was always home when he was and she paid absolutely no heed to her downstairs neighbor when she was walking around at 2 in the morning. not that Spencer could sleep anyway, but if he could, it would be exponentially more annoying.
he assumed she was some sort of first responder, maybe a nurse or doctor, because she had incredibly weird hours. or maybe she had no job, or worked from home. after all, he had never seen her and he had no proof of whether she was home when he was not.
he would come to work and occasionally complain to the team about her, how she was walking around and keeping him up.
"why don't you knock on her door and ask her to stop? thats what i would do but all my neighbors are quiet as a mouse." you offered, spinning nonchalantly on your chair one morning.
"yeah newbie is right. just ask her." morgan agreed.
"i cant do that! that would be rude." Spencer shook his head as he spoke.
you laughed, "think of it as being neighborly."
"i dont think telling someone theyre bothering you is very neighborly." he chuckled.
"bake her a cake that says 'kindly shut the hell up' in icing."
"i cant bake!" he whined
you laughed, ruffling his hair, "i dont know what to tell you. just suffer i guess."
he groaned, stifling a smile at the obscurity of your sentence. or maybe at the entire essence of your being. you could always make him smile, and that was a difficult thing to do. you had only been welcomed to the team a few months ago but in a matter of days he decided he probably liked you best on the whole team.
you definitely felt the same about him.
after some regular banter, everyone got to work, filling out and organizing old case files. paperwork days were a breeze for Spencer, almost therapeutic. writing up a report on a case and then being done with it, never having to think about it again after that.
you were breezing through work today as well, wanting to get home as soon as you possibly could. there was a new episode of your favorite show airing tonight and you did not want to miss it. and you had another reason.
theres is a rumor in your building about an elusive man that lives in the apartment below yours. all the old women on your floor always talk about him to you. they said he's rarely home, and when he is, you wouldn't know the difference. but he's very kind, often rushing to help them up the stairs or with groceries. and apparently, you always just miss each other by a matter of minutes.
so you've been trying to arrive home at different times, switching it up by a matter of minutes. but so far that hasn't worked.
when the clock struck 5pm you were ready to practically run out of the doors of the bullpen, excited to finally be on time to watch your show and maybe hopefully run into mystery man.
the team sent you confused glances as you rushed to stuff your belongings into your bag.
"my show!" is all you said explanation, as you slung your bag across your shoulder and speed walked out of the building, "bye guys!"
"she is something," prentiss chuckled after you left, sitting on the corner of your now empty desk.
"how does she have all that energy?" morgan laughed, shaking his head slightly.
"she takes her coffee/tea [ur coffee/tea order]. and she naps all the time." spencer's responded eyes glued to his computer screen. all eyes were now on him and his vast knowledge about you. he looked up and felt his face flush, "i- i think." he looked back at his computer in attempt to hide his embarrassment, "or maybe she just doesn't have an annoying upstairs neighbor keeping her up."
a couple of snickers followed as they dispersed back to their seats and began getting ready to go home as well. Spencer thought about his neighbor, wondering if he hurried home, maybe she wouldn't be there yet.
so he packed up and began heading out, hopping on the train and wondering if his hypothesis would be correct.
it wasn't.
when he got home he heard the rhythmic stomping of his upstairs neighbor dancing. he rolled his eyes; she was dancing to some short song that was likely the intro to a tv show. he sighed. there was no point in complaining now, it wasn't late at night and she turned down her tv volume once the song was done.
he collapsed exhausted on the couch, turning on some quiet piano as his eyes drooped closed.
your show finished after an hour and you started getting a little sleepy so you decided to take a nap on your couch.
you weren't sure how much time had passed but you woke up on the floor, your hip aching. you had fallen off of your couch in your sleep. you groaned as you sat up.
Spencer jolted awake at the sudden thud from upstairs, his eyes shooting open and his heart racing. he wasn't sure if he was more annoyed at the fact that she woke him up, or how she woke him up. but he felt bad, it sounded like a person falling. was she ok? what if she was hurt and he was sat here rolling his eyes about it? it was very late, his clock read 1:34am.
he was curious to meet her finally...and maybe going upstairs would make her more conscious and considerate of her poor, tired downstairs neighbor.
should he check on her?
you were startled by the knock at your door, glancing over at the clock and seeing how late it was. you cursed yourself for putting an obnoxious wreath on your door because it was covering your peep hole. you grabbed a baseball bat that you kept hidden under your table.
just as Spencer was about to walk away, the door opened and his eyes gazed up from the floor to finally see the face of his insufferable upstairs neighbor.
"Spencer? are you alright? come in. what are you doing at my house in the middle of the night?" you chuckled, tossing the baseball bat aside.
"no way.." he breathed in utter disbelief, looking around for a roommate that could be the one making all the noise.
"um...what?" you furrowed your eyebrows.
his mind moving a mile a minute and suddenly it all made sense. the music was the same as what you played in the car because it was your playlist. the steps were obviously female because they were yours that he'd often heard echo around the office. and you had never crossed paths because he took the train, and you took your car, so you would never leave at the same time. and you were always home when he was because you'd come back from cases at weird hours.
"i should have baked you a cake," he said finally breaking the silence.
you let out a confused laugh, "why?"
"so i could write 'kindly shut the hell up' on it with icing." he laughed as your eyes widened as your brain connected the dots.
"IM THE ANNOYING UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOR?!" your hand flew to cover your mouth, embarrassed at your volume level this late at night.
"i cant believe i didn't connect the dots!" he laughed, dumbfounded.
"wait.." your eyes grew impossibly wider, "if i'm you're annoying upstairs neighbor...that makes you mystery man!"
"mystery man?"
"can i explain tomorrow its like ass o'clock in the morning right now."
he laughed, "yes but only because someone woke me up from my nap."
"i was just being neighborly."
"mhm," he hummed.
you were sleepily staring at each other, dopey smiles complimenting the comfortable silence settling in the air. the sudden butterflies erupting in your stomach startled you into breaking the silence.
"goodnight Spencer," you whispered.
"goodnight y/n." he smiled, giving a small wave before heading down the stairs back to his own apartment.

Stu(died)-Chapter 3
Summary: Cassian takes care of a sick Nesta
Nessian Modern AU-university setting.
Masterlist, Stu(died) Chapter List
(Rolls eyes hardcore) I am continuing this fic for literally five people. Smh.
~
Nesta comes to their tutoring session late and that’s the first thing that tips him off. Already his phone is in his hand ready to call 911. He has Nesta’s number in his phone saved. The first person listed in his text log under Nerd. He can always text or call her. He belongs to The Rat Pack in Nesta’s Snap Chat group, and he knows he can always contact Emerie or Gwyn if something is truly wrong. Yet he dials in 911 and his thumb hovers over the call button.
If she doesn’t show up in fifteen minutes, Cassian swears he’ll call.
Nesta’s never late. In fact, she’s annoyingly early. She practically has a stop watch in her hand at all times, counting every minute she waits. When Cassian comes running in five minutes later, as he so often does, panting with some excuse, Nesta doesn’t even bother looking up from her textbook. She merely gestures to the seat, a heavy sigh on her lips, like she’s running out of time to bore him death even as she fascinates him to pieces.
Her books should already be splayed onto the table, her pencils straight and neatly lined up. Today, the table is empty.
He’ll give it fifteen minutes and then he’s calling.
But Nesta shows up before another minute ticks by. She steps out of the elevator wearing that grey polo he’s seen on her a million times. She lugs her way to him, dragging her feet with the weight of those textbooks he’s sure are in her bag.
She’s wearing a mask, today, and that’s another thing that sends his brain screeching somethings not right here! It covers half of her face, and her eyes look tired from where they peak above the fabric. Cassian doesn’t even bother waiting for her to settle. Already he’s crossing his arms, his brows crinkling with concern and something like irritation.
How dare she think studying is more important than her health.
“Go home,” he says as she nears. Nesta only blinks as if as not understanding his words. The fact that she doesn’t immediately argue is enough for him to start gathering his things.
“What are you doing?” She says as he stuffs his notebook in his bag, “You have an exam in two weeks.” Nesta sets down her own, it slaps at the table with a heavy thump. Cassian can hear the zipper unzipping but not as well as the cough that roars out of her mouth.
It’s loud and wet, and Nesta pauses as if to get her bearings, covering her mouth with her arm. She coughs and coughs and Cassian lays a hand to his own chest. He can almost feel how much it hurts, how she gasps.
Cassian shakes his head, “No, I’m taking you home.”
Nesta’s brows furrow and she gets that look in her eyes. He just knows she’s going to fight him on this. “I--”
Cassian cuts her off, “please, save your breath. You’re going to make everyone sick.”
“I’m wearing a mask!” Nesta argues.
“It’s almost midterms.” Cassian gestures to the other occupants in the library. He sees one person with their hoodie pulled up over their head, clearly sleeping... and moves on to someone else. A group in the corner who’s standing by a whiteboard. “You want to take your chances with sleep deprived students?”
Nesta seems to think about that. While she does, Cassian zips up her bag and throws it over his shoulder. It’s as heavy as he thought it might be. Briefly, he thinks of making a joke about how she must have stuffed a body in here, but he doesn’t think she’d appreciate it, given how quiet she is.
Mentally, he starts making a list of everything she needs. Medicine? He’ll get the pills and the syrup, never mind if she scrunches her nose at the taste. He’ll get her soup. Not the canned. Cassian will buy the ingredients. He’s sure he can make something appeasing. Vaguely, he can remember his mom’s recipe. Beef broth and cabbage and squash. Hopefully she can stomach it. Never mind, the salt will be good for her.
“Hey,” she whines, blinking up at him slowly, “give me my bag.”
“Have you not heard me? You need to be home lying down. Not here, helping me study. Why on earth did you think this was a good idea? I’m taking you home.”
Nesta crosses her arms and the intimidation tactic seems ridiculous with her face half covered and her endless sniffling. “You can try, but I’ll just refuse to tell you my apartment number.”
Cassian scoffs, “I know where you live. I can see your room from the house when you study at night.”
“Who says that out loud?” Nesta shouts.
She must be terribly ill if she’s yelling in a library. That’s all he can think as he gestures to the elevator, bags in hand.
“Never mind that. Let’s go,” Cassian says, walking ahead without her.
He can’t hear her shuffling though, so he turns back to find Nesta leaning on a chair, holding her stomach. He can already feel himself sighing.
Cassian rushes back just in time for Nesta to rip off her mask, and move to the closest trashcan. It’s situated under one of the bulletin boards and as Cassian sidles up to her, rubbing at her back and pulling her hair away, he looks to the papers tacked to the board.
Join the rowing team. Looking for tutors. Research participants wanted.
He can hear the retching and Cassian reads on.
Babysitter wanted for professor, transportation needed.
“I haven’t thrown up since middle school,” Nesta says pathetically. She frowns as he hands her his bottle of water. Her nose and cheeks are red and for some reason he thinks of Rudolph, lighting the way for Santa through the storm.
He feels bad for little Rudolph...
“Now will you let me take you home,” Cassian sighs. He hopes it doesn’t sound like an ‘I told you so’ but she should really be lying down. He lays a hand to her forehead, but she brushes him off, moving towards the bathrooms.
“I’ll wait right here,” he says, but Nesta moves ahead as if she doesn’t hear him at all. Cassian can’t find it in himself to mind. A sick Nesta is guaranteed to be a stubborn Nesta, he just knows.
When she gets out, she looks surprised to see him and that’s another look that just proves how sick she must be. It’s a fairly obvious prediction that he’s going to wait next to the girl's bathroom, counting ceiling tiles. It’s a perfectly ‘Cassian with Nesta’ thing to do.
“You’re skipping class?”
Nesta coughs again, and she looks perfectly pitiful as she blinks her tired eyes. Cassian can feel his lips frown, and he shifts her bag more securely on his shoulder if only to keep himself from reaching out for her. Already he can feel his hands bunch into fists because he wants to grab her own and squeeze it until she's reassured. He wants to hug her until she feels better.
But he can’t.
Cassian lists every action he wants to do. Kiss her forehead where Nesta rubs her hand, because she must have a headache from how sick she is. Put on her favorite movie, so she can fall asleep to its sound. Run to every store, raiding every Walgreens and CVS until he comes back with a pharmacy.
What might she allow now that she’s sick? Will she let him fuss like he wants to?
But Nesta rolls her eyes in that haughty way of hers. “You can’t do that.”
“I can’t do what?” Cassian asks and he wonders if she can read his thoughts. If she studies him so well, reads him like one of her textbooks, memorizing facts and facial features.
“You can’t skip class,” she argues. “Why am I tutoring you if you’re going to skip class?”
At the words, all Cassian wants to do is sigh. She’s thinking about attendance at a time like this...
“Nesta, there is no class more important than you.”
Her brows crinkle at the center like she’s going to start arguing, but Cassian allows himself one touch. He places his thumb there, between her brows, smoothing out the lines. Nesta rips away, blinking up dazed and all too confused. Cassian would laugh at the look, if he didn’t need the distraction.
He juts his head to the elevator quickly. “Let’s go. We can walk slow, so don’t overexert yourself.”
Nesta scrunches up her nose, so cute and red, but she follows him anyway albeit a little petulantly. She holds her hand out for her bag, but Cassian turns toward the doors, pretending not to see.
“How does me being sick make you bossy?”
Cassian doesn’t dare to respond. He doesn’t know whether he’ll admit that he wants to take care of her, that’s he’s so worried a knot twists in his stomach, or if he’ll make some joke, he knows will make her mad. Maybe that’s the better option, he thinks. He can handle a mad Nesta. He likes a mad Nesta, but a Nesta who so easily rejects him?
Cassian doesn’t know about that.
“You don’t have any classes left this week, right?”
Nesta coughs into her sleeve before answering. Though she means to sound queenly, she only sounds sick, “you know where I live, and you also know my class schedule... seems suspicious if you ask me.”
“I’ve known you for two years.”
“And murder victims are three times more likely to be killed by someone they know."
Cassian huffs out a laugh, shaking his head, “Do you still go to sleep watching SVU? Or have you switched to Lifetime movies where the babysitters always try to kill the wife?”
“People should be wary about the people they know,” Nesta shrugs as if that’s answer enough.
Cassian snorts, “well you don’t have to be wary of me.”
As the elevator doors open, Cassian gestures for her to go first and Nesta does, but not before crossing her arms.
“That’s just what a murderer would want me to think.” She squints as if dissecting him, limb by limb. “You kill me, and I’ll haunt you. You won’t be able to sleep at night without thinking of me.”
Too late, Cassian thinks.
It’s much too late for that.
~
Rudolph has the patience of a five-year-old when she’s sick. Cassian learns this fairly quickly when he runs inside a Walgreens on their way to Nesta’s apartment.
There’s a bench that she can sit on, where she can wait if she feels tired, but no. Nesta decides she needs to run errands. She has an entire basket filled by the time he finds her again. She’s by the greeting cards, holding three open at a time. Cassian huffs with a receipt and medicine in hand.
“Here,” he says, giving her the cough medicine. “Take some of this.”
Nesta doesn’t even bother with pouring. He watches as she rips the cap away, taking a swig right out of the bottle, gulping it down.
“That’s way more than the suggested amount,” he cries, “you can get drunk on this stuff!”
“Good, maybe I’ll forget this day ever happened.”
Cassian sighs... it seems all he does is sigh when she’s like this. A sick Nesta is a petulant, irritated Nesta with a permanent furrow between her brows.
“I know you feel sick,” he tries to placate, “but I bet you’d feel a whole lot better if we get you home as soon as we can... so you can lie down and sleep.”
Nesta only picks up another Halloween card. She ignores his suggestion, laughing under her breath as she reads whatever inane joke is written there. Soon, she’s coughing though, and Cassian reaches for the basket just to stop himself from rubbing a hand down her back, combing his fingers through her hair.
Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn, his thoughts scream.
Cassian looks to the contents to distract himself from her watery eyes, and that’s when he notices what she’s grabbed. It seems that while he was in the cold and flu aisle, Nesta was raiding the snacks.
“What is this?” He gestures to the basket. Two boxes of cereal. Caramel corn. Baked Lay’s and cans of Arizona tea. Cassian takes one and holds it up. “Really Nesta?”
“What it’s green tea!” she argues, shoving another card back in its slot.
“This is all... junk,” he tries to explain, but Nesta’s already glowering.
“Look I don’t question your decisions. You don’t question mine.”
Cassian gives her a bland look. “You question my decisions all the time. Before we came in here, you literally said ‘why are we going in here, Cassian? Weren’t you supposed to take me home.’ You said that.”
Nesta simply raises her chin, pulling out another card. “I recall no such thing.”
“Fine,” Cassian grumbles, “if you want to eat yourself to an early grave and ignore everything that could potentially make you feel better than that’s just fine with me.”
“Good,” she says, putting back the other cards. Nesta settles for a pop-up that sings Monster Mash when she opens it. She sets it in the basket he holds, walking ahead without even looking back. “I’m ready to check out.”
“Really?” Cassian jokes, mockingly. “Are you sure you raided the candy aisle?”
Nesta stops in her tracks, peering through the section with printer ink and paper as if she can see the other side. He swears he’d facepalm if he wasn’t carrying all this stuff.
“You’re right,” she says, nodding.
“Wait!” Cassian calls. “Where are you going? Nesta!”
Too late. He can already hear crunching bags.
The variety packs.
Cassian sighs, lugging their things to the aisle next door.
~
“Can I use these vegetables?” Cassian asks, as Nesta shoves open the door to her room. He’s surprised she’s not still by the freezer. When they first get back to her place, she sticks her head in there and he wonders if he should suggest taking her temperature, or if she’s doing it just to show him she’s annoyed.
Perhaps her ears bleed from the sound of his voice.
That seems like something Nesta would say.
“They’re Emerie’s. Why?”
“To make soup,” Cassian explains, rifling through the contents. There’s zucchini and summer squash. Onion, fresh parsley and carrots. Cabbage and lettuce. Fresh fruit. He can make a nice stew out of this.
Nesta scoffs, “I don’t need soup.”
She enters her room, shoving the door back behind her until it leaves only a crack.
“You can leave now,” she yells. “I’m home like you wanted.”
“Are you lying down?” He asks, crossing his arms sternly though she can’t see him.
Nesta sighs loudly, “you’re annoying!”
“Maybe if you got some rest, I’d be less annoying,” Cassian sings brightly.
He can hear the soft sound of her voice. “Doubt.”
Cassian shakes his head with a smirk. He opens his snapchat where The Rat Pack is the first on the list, but the group name has changed... to People I Tolerate.
That’s got to be Nesta.
Cassian laughs under his breath and types. Can I use your vegetables? Making Nesta soup.
Emerie’s bitmoji pops up at the bottom, but the person who texts back first is not Emerie, but Gwyn.
You’re at our house?
Cassian can almost hear her voice. Stern and cautious. He’s almost certain she doesn’t like him. Gwyn looks at him with even more disdain than Nesta when he's around. That stay away from my friend look.
He sighs. Yes, Nesta’s sick.
Gwyn’s quick to respond. I can come home early. I need to drop off a paper, but I can be there in 30.
Cassian rolls his eyes and types, I’m perfectly capable of taking care of her.
Nesta’s face pops up. I can take care of myself.
“No, you can’t!” Cassian yells.
“Yes, I can!” Nesta yells back, but then she starts coughing again and he can hear her groan in the other room. Cassian raises a brow at her door.
I’m going to make soup. I’ll make enough for all of you, but can I use stuff from the fridge? I’ll replace it all.
Emerie’s face pops up and then disappears quickly. He’s about ready to go to the store himself or at least next door to the House, but Emerie’s text appears.
I have no objections to this.
Cassian smiles in relief, and he’s about to set down his phone when another notification appears. It’s Emerie again.
And if you make good soup, you can stay indefinitely.
Cassian sends a winking emoji. Nesta sends back the emoji with the straight mouth and eyes. Before he can frown at what that means, Cassian sees that the group name has changed... to Three’s Company.
That’s got to be Gwyn.
Stone cold, Emerie texts back.
Cassian decides he’s going to ignore that for the moment and focus on the objective at hand.
Soup.
Cassian pulls out the vegetables and looks through the cupboards. Emerie, it seems, has all the good spices. He finds the broth packets stored in the back, and he pulls out some beef from the freezer. It’ll need to defrost but he can start the broth now, get the vegetables soft, and brown the beef later. It’ll take a couple of hours anyway.
Occasionally, he hears a cough as he works. Then a sweet laugh... followed by a cough and a groan. Cassian feels bad for her he does, but he can’t help but find the whole situation amusing. She should be resting and yet she seems to be wide awake.
Nesta doesn’t come out of her room though. It’s as if he’s not even there, and he takes that time to look over her shared apartment. There are three doors, each with a letter at the front. The N is blue, the E, green, and the G, pink. He doesn’t know how it’s possible to have a living room that looks like all three, but somehow it works. It’s studious and bright. Colorful, but subdued. There are way too many throw pillows and books scattered everywhere, but there’s also a TV with a fireplace under it. He can just imagine Nesta laughing at scary movies. Some slasher fic she’ll watch like she’s taking notes.
He can imagine Nesta everywhere, in fact.
This is where she eats. Where she sits. Where she studies. This is where she trips over shoes if they’re not neatly lined up and where she complains about dirty dishes. This is where she cooks... if she does cook. Cassian doesn’t know.
Maybe he’ll get to find out one day.
Once the water starts boiling and the meat is in the microwave to defrost, Cassian goes to check how Rudolph is doing.
He knocks on her door lightly, pushing it open. “Nesta?”
Cassian’s never seen her room before, say for when she sits by the window with her curtains wide open, and just like then, it seems like an invasion of privacy to do so now. But Nesta’s plopped on top of her bed, tucked beneath her blue comforter, and she sets down her phone when he appears at the door.
Her whole room is filled with blues and creams, and it looks exactly what he imagines Nesta’s room to look like. The large calendar, an agenda on the desk, bookshelf after bookshelf lining her walls. There are also things he doesn’t know of her yet. Pictures and posters and a.... stuffed lobster? Cassian holds it up.
“Would you stop looking around?” Nesta groans. She has her arm resting over her eyes, and he wonders if it’s because she doesn’t want to see him looking or if she feels that bad that the light is bothering her.
She should be getting some rest, he thinks.
“Where did you get a stuffed lobster?”
Nesta coughs out her response.
The sound makes Cassian grimace, his chest ache with need, but he doesn’t rush over like he wants to. This is her house, her room... and this is Nesta who doesn’t like to be coddled by anyone.
“It’s a heat pack,” she says at last, after she catches her breath.
“A heat pack?” Cassian looks to the soft red claws that dangle. He’s never seen anything so soft be a heat pack.
“For cramps,” she says as if it’s obvious. Nesta must take his silence to mean ignorance for she lifts onto her elbows, raising a judgmental brow. “Please tell me you know what periods are or am I am going to have to go back to teaching you biology?”
“No,” Cassian draws out, “I know what periods are.”
Nesta mumbles a thank god and Cassian watches as she shifts under the covers, pulling them up until they hover just beneath her mouth.
“Are you cold?” Cassian asks, looking around her room. He spots his burgundy hoodie neatly folded and nearly yanks it from her desk. “Here. Wear my sweatshirt.”
“I just washed it,” Nesta whines, “I was going to give it back to you.”
Cassian’s confused by the words, but he merely gestures for her to budge up. He’s thankful when she doesn’t argue. He rolls the sweatshirt over her head and Nesta fits her arms through the sleeves.
“You didn’t have to wash it,” he says, watching as she pats down her hair. If only he could pull it up for her, comb his fingers through it. She could use his scrunchie too, if she wanted.
Nesta rolls her eyes, and he can only imagine what she thinks. He can practically hear the words. Of course, you wouldn’t care about clean clothes.
Her expressions practically give her away--everything she feels and thinks. Cassian wonders if he knows how open she is to the rest of the world. He wonders if she’d hate him if he told her this.
“It was going to smell like me,” she frowns.
Cassian wants to huff out a laugh. That is perfectly fine by him.
“Stop laughing,” she whines, “I’m being serious.”
“Yes, you’re being very serious.” He can’t help his smirk as he gazes up at her. He doesn’t even realize he’s on her bed, sitting to the side of her all bunched up in red. Her nose to the fabric. He almost wants to say she looks cute in his hoodie, all sick like that, but he knows she’ll only bite at him, remarking about how he has some weird fetish for sick girls.
Cassian holds back a laugh as he hears the microwave ding. He needs to turn the meat around, so it doesn’t cook through, but Nesta grips his arm. His head whips towards her and... Nesta’s gazing up at him. Her eyes are a soft blue. Just like her room.
“You’re warm,” she says. To explain herself, he thinks, and why she holds him as if she doesn't want him to move.
Cassian’s lips raise lightly, and he places the back of his hand on her forehead. “You must be worse than you’re letting on if you're okay with me being in your bed.”
Nesta scoffs, “you’re on it. Not in it. I’ll make that distinction very clear.”
“You can’t be that sick then,” Cassian shrugs, smiling. “If you’re making everything sound like a tutoring session.”
Her cheeks flush a bright pink and Cassian thinks she must have a fever. He wonders if he should search for an ice pack or make one, so she doesn’t get too hot.
“Are you tired?” He asks, noting how slowly she blinks. “You did drink a lot of cough syrup.”
“I also took a NyQuil,” she says, closing her eyes.
Cassian huffs, “remind me to teach you how read warning labels when your fully coherent.”
He can hear the microwave ding again, and it reminds him of an alarm. Wake up! It seems to say. Being in Nesta’s room does feels like falling asleep. Rather dream-like and hazy. The microwave dings incessantly, but Cassian doesn’t want to wake up just yet.
Her hand is still on his arm. It’s so much smaller than his and he wants to trace the skin there and see if it’s as soft as it looks. Cassian doesn’t dare look at her, in case she doesn’t just bang together two loud cymbals and tell him to get up and out and away.
Cassian looks ahead instead, fixing his gaze on the stuffed lobster on her desk.
“Nesta,” he starts and then swallows. He feels nervous, his hands clammy. “Nesta, I really think you and I... we’d be good together.”
Cassian takes a breath, and he stares at the lobster as if it’s her face. “We’ve known each other for a long time now and I... I haven’t hid how I feel about you.” His heart is beating way too fast, and he doesn’t feel any freer from speaking the words, but Cassian decides it’s time to rip the Band-Aid off. “I thought maybe... we could try it out. See if you might be comfortable with it. If you might like me... too?”
He doesn’t know why he words that like a question, but Nesta doesn’t say a word. Cassian looks back, hoping there’s no disgust in baby blue. He doesn’t know what he’d do if she just outright says he’s trash and she’ll never like him.
But Nesta’s fast asleep.
Cassian doesn’t bother sighing as he grips her limp hand, setting it on the blanket. He doesn’t bother being disappointed when he tucks the comforter around her. Her cheeks are a lobster-red and he rubs a thumb lightly there, wondering what it would be like to hold her face in his palm and kiss at her nose. Would she complain as he pecked her lips? You’ll get sick Cassian.
Then we can stay in bed together, Nesta.
No. Cassian’s not disappointed at all.
He’ll tuck away his dreams where tomorrow lives.
Today, he’ll stick to what he’s good at, so Cassian heads to the kitchen to make soup.

Tumblr media
You tapped your fingers on your desk, nails clattering at you waiting to be let into your third Zoom meeting of the day. Usually, you got off with only one lecture, but because of upcoming exams, you were finding yourself in and out of virtual meetings and office hours. Sure, it was better than jogging from building to building, fighting the crowds, and searching for a seat in a packed lecture hall, but it was still wearing you down beyond belief.
You rested your chin in your hand as your window went from white to dark grey, the square with your name getting wedged in beside the professor. Everyone’s cameras were off, a thankful sigh leaving your lips as your head slumped down to lay against your arm, the danger of falling asleep suddenly becoming more prominent.
You jumped slightly as your professor cleared their throat, sharing their screen and beginning to ramble off facts listed on the slideshow. You played with your keyboard, focused on removing a crumb from beneath your spacebar that was almost unreachable. You usually took notes in the class, but today was just one of those days.
“... And with that in mind, I’m going to put you all into breakout rooms…” Your professor trailed off, eyebrows furrowed as they peered at their screen and clicked frantically to assign all of you to rooms. You yawned, smacking your cheeks and sitting up. You were determined not to be a shitty partner, at least. The white box popped up, inviting you to join breakout room four. That’s always lucky, you thought to yourself as you joined.
Once again, you were cursed to look at the buffering wheel of death as your internet struggled to sustain all your opened tabs. Please, just a little longer, you groaned internally, eyes dashing towards the receiver and exhaling in relief as your computer connected to the breakout room. You turned on your camera, eliciting your partner, George, to do the same.
You flashed him a smile as you struggled to open the article from the previous night. “Hi! How’s it going?” You greeted, not yet looking at him.
“I’m good, actually. How are you?” He engaged, his voice deep and tired.
You finally managed to split your screen enough so that you could see him and the article. “Yeah, I’m good too. Thanks,” you chewed the inside of your cheek, eyes skimming some of the notes you’d etched into the margins. “So, did you have any idea what,” you paused, squinting at the author’s name, “Robert A. Schneider means when he discusses how ‘men of letters’ fear the lower class more than anything?” You asked, as your eyes trailed across your screen to finally gauge his reaction, you were taken aback by his appearance.
His soft features and dark eyes made you feel safe. As he smiled softly, running his fingers into his hair, he seemed to be racking his brain for an answer. He opened his mouth to begin, detailing what you had previously thought with better articulation.
The two of you got through the basic questions the professor had scripted for the students, then finding yourself still stuck in the breakout room. On a normal day, your professor would have pulled everyone back into the call after the first few questions.
George swiveled in his chair quietly as he listened to you briefly explain your area of study. His kind smile made your heart flutter slightly. Deep down, you hoped the two of you would be stuck in the room for a while.
Soon your topics blended into what kind of movies you both watched, a debate on where you could buy the cheapest bread on campus, and what kind of party people the two of you were. After an hour, instead of worrying whether or not your professor was dead, you were swapping numbers and planning out how the two of you would turn the Florida Keys into the headquarters of your new cult where the members would all worship a separate bitchy philosopher.
You pulled one of your legs to your chest, resting your cheek against your knee as his laughing died out. “Okay, this might be a weird question, but I need to know why your webcam is so clear. Is it like an OnlyFans thing or…”
He chuckled. “Yeah it’s definitely OnlyFans,” he joked, making you laugh. “I’m actually a ᵐⁱⁿᵉᶜʳᵃᶠᵗ ˢᵗʳᵉᵃᵐᵉʳ” he mumbled.
Your eyebrows perked playfully. “You’re a what?”
He pursed his lips to fit the grin stretching across his face. “ᵃ ᵐⁱⁿᵉᶜʳᵃᶠᵗ ˢᵗʳᵉᵃᵐᵉʳ”
You snorted slightly. “Sorry darling, you’ll have to speak up. What was that?”
He wet his lips, rolling his eyes as he bashfully groaned. “I’m a Minecraft streamer.”
You giggled, him basking in your disbelief. He smiled a bit brighter as he shrugged, leaning back in his chair as you rambled off questions. “There’s no way! Nerd!” you chaffed, making him smile as if he liked it when you playfully teased him. “Are you super popular?” You asked, catching your breath.
He bit his bottom lip swaying his head slightly as if deciding not to answer. “Mmmm. Not really.”
“Well, come on, Georgios! Give me your Twitch user and I’ll be your biggest fan, I promise.” He laughed at your response, digging out his phone to send you a link.
“I’d like to see you try,” he mumbled.
After the class had finally ended, you’d learned that your professor was on the phone with their credit card company. In the following weeks, you and George were in constant contact, even becoming part of each other’s daily routines.
As you studied for finals, you’d turn on his stream, letting his voice alleviate some of the stress of your exams. He knew you were watching and would even drop hints for you in what he was saying, or he’d blatantly just ask what you were talking about in your essay for a certain class. After the stream would end, he’d call you either on Discord or the phone, just so it felt like the two of you were studying together.
Jokingly, you badgered him to send you some of his merch, threatening to buy it from a bootleg online store if he didn’t. He had only brushed it off at the time, but shortly after, you received a hoodie in the mail with his gamer tag printed across it.
It was late at night when you’d received it, the tiredness of your eyes and George’s dulcet tones lulling you towards the idea of a dead sleep. Yet, you were drawn from your pleasant relaxation with the shrilling of your doorbell. You shrugged out of your blanket cocoon, grabbing your phone and trudging down the stairs. As you tore open the bag, your phone buzzed with a text from George asking if you’d seen something that one of his chat members. You chuckled softly and dug your hand into the material, holding it out in front of you.
You snickered to yourself, running your fingers across the red patch in the center. You slipped it over your head, letting the softness of the fabric brush against your skin. You snapped a photo of yourself and stumbled back upstairs before sending it to him.
When you returned, George was focused on something he was crafting. His eyes darted down to one corner of the screen where his phone was probably sitting. His eyes flashed back up with a smug grin on his face as if he knew exactly what you were going to say. Your “Thanks sugar daddy xx,” probably didn’t help either.
“What, chat?” His voice came out slightly uneven as he bit back a smile. You skimmed what people were asking. “It’s not a nude. A friend of mine got something I sent them,” he answered nonchalantly, finishing up what he was doing. The chat began to spam quietly. “No, it’s not a maid costume. Jesus Christ.” He leaned back in his chair, grabbing his phone and opening your message.
A grin spread across his face, alongside the light dusting of rosy pigment settling in his cheeks. He chuckled to himself, quickly replying before getting back to his game. You scoffed at his response.
George (H325) Anything for my silly little baka
You curled up again, putting away your schoolwork and devoting your attention to watching his stream as you drifted off to sleep.
Once again, you found yourself at the mercy of your internet as you attempted to join the breakout room assigned to you. You almost jumped out of your chair when it finally connected and you found George waiting for you. You smiled slightly as he scrolled through his phone. “What are the chances?” You asked, pulling his eyes to you.
He grinned, clicking off whatever he was looking at. “I was just about to raid your inbox.”
You chuckled. “I almost wore your merch to class, just to out you to whoever my partner was,” you joked, making him roll his eyes.
“I’m glad it’s me then,” he responded. You began scrounging around for your article. After a beat of hesitation, George spoke up again. “Hey, I’m glad you like the sweatshirt…” You perked an eyebrow in his direction. “I actually haven’t been able to get that picture out of my head. I know it’s stupid,” he stated lightly, chuckling nervously. You could feel your heart beating in your ears. “It’s so lame, but I think I have a crush on you.”
You sat back in your chair, stunned. “I mean, the feeling’s mutual. Even if it’s lame,” you mirrored, winking at him. “I mean, maybe it’s not lame because I know I like you.”
He smiled to himself at your answer before chuckling, “Should we Zoom date or something?”

You're gonna fry your brain.
Hello everyone, since it's finals season and we're all probably really dead inside, I decided to self indulge in some tattoo artist! Sukuna writing, so here's this brainrot that won't let me focus on studying. You can read more of this au in the au masterlist.
I've been trying so hard to finish up a bartender! Dabi fic I have in the works for too long, hopefully I can get around to it too. After finals are done I'll be writing a lot more that's for sure.
Tattoo artist! Sukuna x f!reader
Warnings: language, suggestive tones, that's it.
Finals are by far the worst thing about college, y/n knows that the hard way. She's been stressing herself out for the past few days, maybe weeks, going over the same material again and again. She'd constantly argue that she really needs to pass with an high grade that's why she's so obsessive over it.
Sukuna had tried multiple times to help her ease her nerves, he's been there, although he was the type who never really stuck his nose in a book for too long, regardless, his best girl needed a break, no matter how hard she denied it.
Y/n had declined his invitations of going out, she dropped by the shop a few times, bringing Sukuna some food, but he could tell she was slowly burning herself up.
Today was no different, y/n had been writing everything down all day to help memorize it better. So many hours has passed since she started her study session but she didn't even notice that her clock read 8 pm already.
Sukuna did notice, y/n had been barely responding back to his texts and it was time he took matters into his own hands.
The earpiercing doorbell pulled y/n out of her trance like state, she quickly got up from her desk to go and get rid of whoever just rung it.
"Dollface, I was beginning to think you had died in there."
There was Sukuna, leaning in her doorframe, looking as good as he always did, in a plan white t shirt and a gray pair of sweatpants, holding a few bags and a huge basket.
"not quite, what's all this?"
Y/n motioned to the bags he had.
"Nothing much, just some things I picked up for you, will you let me in? this basket is fucking heavy."
No, the basket wasn't that heavy, Sukuna could carry it just fine, he just wanted to make sure that y/n didn't have a chance to deny him.
Y/n stepped aside to let Sukuna in, and he went straight to her kitchen, dropping his bags on the table.
"Thanks for dropping by babe, but I really need to finish the last three chapters I have left."
"Y/n, you're going to fry your brain at this rate, no more studying for today."
"But-"
"No buts, you won't read another sentence today. We're destressing together."
Turns out, Sukuna had brought over many different things. He's not the type of guy to shy away from anything, so the first thing he did was to grab y/n and drag her into her bathroom.
Sukuna had taken mental notes the first time he looked through y/n's skincare products, he was able to determine her skin type and he went a bit crazy, buying her different things to try out.
"You are insane, that's drunk elephant, why did you get this many things?"
"Because you have the really terrible cheap stuff, now shut up you're going to eat the soap if you keep talking with cleanser all over your face."
Now, y/n's skincare wasn't bad, Sukuna had expensive taste and he's a bit of a brand snob
Sukuna gently poked her cheek with a smile as y/n's face distorted because she had in fact tasted the cleanser and Sukuna could only laugh at her before she flicked some into his mouth too.
"Don't kiss me with a face mask on you brat"
Y/n let out a soft laugh, Sukuna was doing his best to concentrate at the task at hand. Matching y/n's nail polish to his. Y/n had just finished painting his, matte black like he requested but y/n gave him some white polish on his ring finger. Sukuna had argued for a bit, saying it didn't look good and that he didn't like it, but gave in after y/n gave him a puppy face, can you blame him?
"But you look so cute like that."
Y/n complained, knowing that this little comment was going to feed Sukuna's ego more.
"I know doll, but artificial orange doesn't taste as good as it smells."
Y/n once again wasn't wrong, his cocky attitude always creeped in at times, not that she minded.
Time passed fast with watching trash reality shows on y/n's couch, after their very own self care day, Sukuna made sure to fix something they could both eat. Now they were engolved in each others arms, y/n's sleepy eyes staring up at him.
"How are you feeling, doll?"
Sukuna's hand found her hair, gently resting on top of her head.
"Much better, you're the best you know that?"
"I've heard it once or twice, I'll give you reasons to say it more often"
He gave her a gentle smile, leaning closer to steal a kiss, a little more intimate than the ones they shared earlier.
" 'Kuna, I'm sorry I was so stressed and distant this week, I probably worried you-"
"Don't be stupid, it's ok, I just want you to know I'm here for you, and it's just finals. You're a smart cookie, I'm sure you'll do great."
Y/n found his words reassuring and nuzzled closer to him, letting her lungs burn with his scent that never got less intoxicating.
"Thank you 'kuna, what would I do without you?"
The last few words came out slurred, but Sukuna understood everything, y/n's breathing got steadier against him.
"I don't know doll I'm just glad to have you here, I promised to take good care of you."
And just like that, y/n was fast asleep next to him, he didn't mind her uncomfortable couch one bit all he cared about was how at peace she looked. Maybe he would move her to her bed later, he couldn't bring himself to do it now.
The next morning, y/n found herself on her bed, Sukuna had almost woken her up getting ready before he left to go to work, but he managed to put her right back to sleep with a kiss on the forehead and a light "don't wake up yet doll".
Y/n made her way to the kitchen, Sukuna usually left a little letter for her on the nightstand by the bed, he must've been in a rush today.
Not quite the case.
Sukuna not only made her, her favourite breakfast, he also left post it notes in some places.
You suck at food shopping, thank me later.
Was written on her fridge.
So that's what all the bags were for, y/n didn't find out last night because of how tired she was, and how much fun she had being around sukuna.
He had filled up her fridge with everything she ever needed to make a meal for herself or have a snack. Let's be honest Sukuna just wanted to cook for her again.
Another post it was found in her bathroom cabinet.
You're probably gonna get mad at me for this but I'm not sorry, you deserve it.
The poor cabinet was stuffed to the brim with brand name skincare that made anyone's wallet scream in anguish and a lot of bathbombs. Upon closer look y/n almost cried at how attentive Sukuna was, he took extra care to look out for her skins needs.
Y/n found the last post it on her desk while she did her revision.
Don't overwork yourself doll, you've got me for that.
Y/n brought Sukuna cupcakes from seven different bakeries to try that day.
Bonus Domain shenanigans: "Sukuna left early again?"
Megumi asked, the day had been going pretty slow he wasn't surprised his friend dipped.
"Yeah, he left this behind though."
Geto held up a very nice looking white shop bag, a slight glimmer in his eye let the rest of his friends know he planned something.
"So? What's in it anyways?"
Gojo was resting his chin on his hand, blank expression on his face, completely unamused by Geto's discovery.
"Give me that"
Nanami swiftly snatched the bag, curious to see what was inside of it. He reached in and retrieved several wrapped round objects.
"Bathbombs?"
He questioned puzzled, but then his lips tugged upward.
Megumi, Nanami, Gojo and Geto, each got two bathbombs, and even though they would outright say it, they were pretty damn exited to drop them in their bathtubs. That's what Sukuna gets for avoiding clean up.
Sukuna entered the shop barely greeting anyone and begun looking around. Fuck he was looking for something, everyone tried to keep their composure.
"Have you seen a white bag?"
He finally looked at the group of men before him.
"like a backpack? No "
Megumi spoke, Sukuna begun thinking he was remembering everything wrong, that's untill he saw something sticking out of Geto's pocket. That's for sure a bathbomb he bought for y/n
"You motherfuckers, how low can you stoop to steal my girls bathbombs?"
Hey it's me again, though I'd add that here, if you have specific skin demands I tried to cover that in here so everyone can enjoy it, I have lots of allergies and skin concerns so I'm kinda sensitive to that stuff. Hope you had fun reading, remember to take it easy, untill next time :>
