#but it drives in the point that Ruby is just a kid with too much on her shoulders

[takes a deep breath] so CRWBY really looked at the bright girl in volume 1 and went like, we're going to traumatize the f*ck out of her so that in a decade or so she completely breaks down after seeing those she cares 'bout die over and over again and just kills herself
And this is going to weigh on the minds of her teammates forever. They're going to look back one day and remember who Ruby used to be, and then they're going to realize what the world made her become. And it will shatter them every time they remember this scene.

one where charles gets jealous of uncle pierre because ruby talks all the time that she admires and loves him so much, i think you get the point lol
she love me she loves me not | charles leclerc
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Uncle Pierre can do more push ups!”
“Uncle Pierre knows how to cook pasta!”
“Uncle Pierre let me drive his car!”
Uncle Pierre. That’s all Charles heard whenever Ruby was around. Pierre this, Pierre that. There wasn’t a day that Pierre’s name wasn’t mentioned in the Leclerc household.
It was a normal night for the Leclerc’s. The family was together before Charles and Arthur had to go back to the race track. Mathéo and Ruby were jumping on the trampoline while the family made dinner in the kitchen.
“Did Ruby tell you she wants to go to the next race?” Y/n asked Charles as she took several plates from the cabinets.
“No she hasn’t. When did she tell you this?” Charles wondered.
“Uhh, I think two weeks ago? I was talking with Kika on the phone and Pierre was there too—”
There it was again. Pierre. He loves his friend, don’t get him wrong, but the constant mention of the frenchman definitely made Charles start thinking bad about himself. Even his own daughter talked more about Uncle Pierre than Papa Charles. Was there something wrong with him? There had to be if Ruby always talked about Pierre.
“Honey? Charles? Are you okay?” Y/n asked when she noticed that Charles wasn’t listening to her.
“Yeah, yeah, next race she’ll be there. I’ll tell Fred that Ruby’s coming.” Charles cleared his throat.
“Actually she told me she wants to go in the Alpine garage with Pierre. That’s why I was going to ask you if it was okay with you before you zoned out. . .”
Great.
“Is that what she wants? Is she sure? Maybe she should stay in the Ferrari garage, Joris is going to be there so she won’t be alone. And I take great care of her so why does she want to be in the Alpine garage? I’m her papa, she love me, right?” Charles rambled on as he aggressively chopped vegetables.
“Charles, look at me. And please put down the knife.” Y/n sighed.
“Am I doing something wrong?” Charles finally asked.
“What?”
“Am I doing something wrong? I mean Ruby always has something to say about Pierre . . How he cooks better than me, he tells better jokes, I just . . . I just get this feeling that Pierre is doing something that I’m not that Ruby is the only one who notices. It’s always Uncle Pierre.”
“Charles, she’s your daughter, of course she loves you.” Y/n assured him.
“But does she like me?” He asked.
“What?”
“Does Ruby like me? I just . . Maybe she doesn’t like me, maybe she likes Pierre better, maybe I’m not a good papa to her.” Charles went on.
“I know Ruby talks about Pierre a lot, but she also talks nonstop about her papa. I’ll talk to her tonight,” Y/n replied. “You’re a great father to our babies, Charles. Don’t ever doubt yourself. The kids and I love and like you.”
“She can go to the Alpine garage next race if that is what she wants. I don’t mind,”Charles sighed. Weeks ago, Pierre had told Charles that he missed Ruby and how he had some presents for her. “I’ll have Théo and you in my corner.”
“Sweetheart, you’re the best papa in the whole damn world. We’ll always be with you.”

Engineer!Jaune (Based on my ask to @howlingday) Ruby: YOU WHAT?!
Jaune: Yeah, just like my Uncle Dell Conagher-Arc said: “Hey look, buddy. I'm an engineer — that means I solve problems. Not problems like 'What is beauty?' because that would fall within the purview of your conundrums of philosophy. I solve practical problems.”
Ruby: BUT YOU DELIBERATELY CUT YOUR OWN ARM!!!
Jaune: Yeah? So did my uncle
Ruby: JAUNE!!!
Jaune: What?! It’s the only way to make sure Nora or you fires my Plasma guns!!!
Ruby: But you didn’t need to cut your own arm!!!
Yang: I heard screaming, what’s wrong?
Ruby: JAUNE CUT HIS OWN ARM!!!
Yang: WTF JAUNE?! I KNOW YOU’RE CRAZY AFTER ALL OF THIS 3 YEARS, BUT THIS IS TOO FAR!!!
Blake: Yang, honey, please don’t scream *Sees Jaune’s arm* What happened to your arm
Ruby: HE CUT HIS OWN ARM OFF!!!
Blake: WHAT?! PLEASE TELL ME YOU’RE JOKING
Ruby: I’M NOT!!!
Weiss: WOULD ALL OF YOU PLEASE SHUT UP?! PLEASE STOP SCREAMING!!! *Spots Jaune’s arm* What happened to your arm?
Blake: He cut it himself
Weiss: YOU WHAT?! THAT IS PREPOSTEROUS!!!
Jaune: I did.
Weiss: ….
*Knocks on the door*
Jaune: Who is it? *Opens the door and sees Uncle Dell*
Ruby: Who is it Jaune?
Jaune: *Excited* It’s my uncle! Uncle Dell? What’s up!!!
Uncle Dell: Hey kid, heard you cut your own arm. Is it true?
Jaune:*In a slight Texan accent* I did
Uncle Dell: As i expected from a 10Y/O kid who obtained 11 PhDs
RWBY: He’s what?!
Uncle Dell: Yup, he sure did. *Speaks back to Jaune* Hey kid, who’s these fine ladies? Is one of them is your girlfriend?
Jaune: *Still in the same accent* No uncle, all of them are girlfriends and girlfriends. And one of them is in a polyamorous relationship. *Points to Ruby* That’s Ruby *Points to Weiss* Her girlfriend Weiss *Points to Blake and Yang* The emo one (Blake: HEY!) is Blake and the Yellow one is Yang. They’re the one whose on a polyamorous relationship.
Uncle Dell: With who?
Pyrrha: *In the door* Blake! Yang! Can you help me with my groceries please? *Sees Jaune* Jaune!!! *Proceed to run at full speed to hug Jaune*
Jaune: Whoa! *falls into his own back
Pyrrha: We’ve missed you so much!!!*Felt something metallic*… What happened to your arm Jaune?
Yang: *Helping Pyrrha with the groceries* He cut his own arm
Pyrrha: HE’S WHAT?!
Yang: That’s not even the most shocking part, he also got 11 PhDs.
Pyrrha: *Staring at Jaune and Dell talking to each other and seeing him gives an Australium to Jaune*…. No wonder he’s always the top in every class except combat.
*After helping the girls with the groceries, maybe around 5-10 minutes*
Jaune: Welp, We’ll talk later Uncle Dell, we’re going to have a cookout and those groceries won’t lift by themselves.
Uncle Dell: Yeah, we’ll talk later about the sentry improvements. Got a call from work. Y’know, the usual RED and BLU stuff.
Jaune: No problem uncle, how about we meet at our usual bar?
Uncle Dell: Sure thing bud, say the time and date and i’m on my way. With the rest of the crew ofcourse.
Jaune: Heavy still pissed at me for beating him in an arm wrestling huh?
Uncle Dell: I mean, you’d rarely sees a 15 Y/O kid beating a 6’5 400 Pounds man with Aura in arm wrestling contests. *Chuckle* Well i gotta go *Gets in his 1966 Chevy Pickup*
Jaune: Sure Uncle Dell. Be sure to not be dead
Uncle Dell: The machine’ll revive me kiddo *Dabs Jaune perfectly* Bye kid. *Drives off*
Jaune: *Chuckles* Bye uncle Dell! *Waves his metallic arm*
The girls: *Speaking together in a dark tone* You got some explaining to do. Jaune~.
Jaune: Oh… shit….

Part 3!
And oh boy, this one definitely needs explanation, so see you down in the ramblings.
(1) THE FOOL / THE MAGICIAN / THE HIGH PRIESTESS  | (2) THE EMPRESS / THE EMPEROR / THE HIEROPHANT | (3) THE LOVERS / THE CHARIOT / STRENGTH | (4) THE HERMIT / WHEEL OF FORTUNE / JUSTICE | (5) THE HANGED MAND | DEATH | TEMPERANCE | (6) THE DEVIL / THE TOWER / THE STAR | (7) THE MOON / THE SUN / JUDGMENT / THE WORLD
I gotta be real, this is my least favorite set so far. I was very unsure about the characters I chose for these and it also shows in the compositions. I might redo them at some point but I want to finish the major arcana as a whole first, before I lose myself in revisions. Maybe I shouldn’t be too harsh on myself anyway, because this is just a fun project but, ah, perfectionism.
Anyway, citations from here, as always.
THE LOVERS - Actually means that the protag feels sexual urge or need for relationship. Harry basically flirts with everyone and is still hung up on his broken relationship, that he doesn’t even remember, so the meaning here is pretty warped. So I just chose some lover figures. But who to choose? Klaasje and Lely? Well their relationship gets known pretty late, and didn’t end very nicely. Also I do not know how Lely looks like as not-a-corpse so-- Klaasje and Ruby? Seemed to me more like a fling, and didn’t interest Harry much except for some lecherous line he dropped. So I chose Sylvie and Garte, because Harry actively gets involved in their business. He can help them get together or ultimately break their relationship before it could ever bloom (Shoutout to the cock carousel) so I chose them because Harry is the most involved here.
THE CHARIOT - I’m just gonna quote for a bit “The Chariot represents the vigorous ego that is the Fool's crowning achievement so far. (...) we see a proud, commanding figure riding victoriously through his world. He is in visible control of himself and all he surveys.” Not many people with horses around there in Martinaise, only people driving cars. None of the lorry drivers fir the description for me though. The chariot is also described as commandeering and rigid, and René fit the description for me the most. He is definitely a proud person, commandeering and strict, and also surveying the world around him from his booth up at the harbour. Otherwise, yeah I got nothing. This one was just hard lol
STRENGTH - “[The fool] is pressed to develop his courage and resolve and find the heart to keep going despite setbacks.” was a line that made me very desperately want to choose Kim here, but I had other plans for him already. Strength is part of the Virtues trio, and spoiler spoiler, Kim will get his place as one of the three Virtues, but this one goes to Cuno, because I feel he is also very influential on Harry. Another quote for the card is “The Fool also discovers the quiet attributes of patience and tolerance.“ which I think fits Cuno quiet well. Because boy do you need a lot of patience and tolerance with him to make him trust and help you. But ultimately he is also there in the end if you need him (and Kim is unfortunately not present) All in all, what could make you want to get your shit together more than escaping the mocking words of a potty-mouthed kid. Horrifying lol
I tried really hard okay. I’m sure there are other interpretations but that’s the best I could come up with.Meanwhile I also bought an art book of a really pretty tarot set I saw at the last convention I was at, and there were so many lovely compositions that almost made me question what I am doing here. But again, I’m doing these for fun [*self prep talk*]. Still, take a look at this magnificient tarot deck (Instagram Link) I’m so sad they were sold out, but at least I got the art book.
Uhhh anyway enjoy. Next set will be better I promise. I like the upcoming one a lot : )

Tommy says sorry to Lizzie a phenomenal amount of times in S6.
Here’s my quick thoughts on what was going on behind the seemingly cold facade.
—-
All through S6, there’s a back and forth in Lizzie like she’s testing ‘do I leave, don’t I leave’ because he’s closed himself off and is visibly hurting himself, and for what? She’s scared of his self-harm hurting her, too. But, she respects that he manages to keep this from the kids and demonstrate love for them. They are in what I call a broken-carer relationship by this point.
In Tommy, I get this sense of a sequence:
-he doesn’t want her to leave. However he’s aware that he can be overbearing, so he’s pulled back to try to give Lizzie space to make her own decision.
-He needs to focus on his agenda! He tries multiple times to explain without explaining about this ‘just one more deal’ / ‘please hold on just a bit more’ while still keeping to his mode of not revealing detail. He wants her to stay but he has to get through that agenda before he can even think about moderating these hurtful behaviours.
-when ruby dies, he and Lizzie go wildly off kilter and out of sync with being able to comfort each other, and his murder of Evadne Barwell nearly throws them apart.
-he still doesn’t want her to leave, and she/they still seem to be trying to connect. Prior to his terminal diagnosis, they’re still having off-screen fail!sex trying to connect/comfort and he’s still reverting to his ‘not yet’/‘hold on just a bit more.’ Specifically, “Not yet. Not yet. I have this work to do cos now I know.....that I will change. That I have to change. And change for good, Lizzie. Not just yet.’
-Lizzie seeing he burned Ruby’s chair seems to bring her closer to staying again, even though he ultimately rejects (or defers) her reach out/offer of mutual comfort - i think him burning that chair more than anything else he’s done shows her something that she can read and understand as grief, even if it is still destructive. She softens to him again.
-by the terminal diagnosis scene they’d seem to have gotten past the danger zone just after his murder of Evadne Barwell. When he does get his terminal diagnosis, I’d bet one thought is ‘I can’t tell Lizzie because then she really won’t leave.’ and he still wants to give her space to make her own decision.
-things get a bit fuzzy here: tommy doesn’t want Lizzie to leave (later cues/commitments he makes) but he doesn’t want her to stay (because then she has to deal with his death in one way or another). Conflicted!
-he brings Duke into the picture. If true to form, I can imagine him only telling Lizzie he’s going to make an announcement about Duke during the drive to town, so she’s had very little time to get used to it. She’s bitter and hurt, but the softness with which he reaches out to her at the end of that meeting really gets me. He knows he’s hurt her but for once he didn’t want to do it and cares that he did; but his terminal timeline now doesn’t permit him to delay these things?
-they then go to their hotel - don’t think it’s same-day as the Duke announcement but it could be. Notwithstanding, the terminal diagnosis and accruing hurt/bitterness in Lizzie does seem to trigger something in Tommy to try harder to make good these issues between him and lizzie. He no longer has much time to ‘make good’ with her after his agenda is done. The hotel sex scene and the dialogue after reads as his giant (if constrained) attempt to say sorry. And lizzie and her dialogue appears to be trying to find reasons to accept the apology — I feel like her greyness/bitterness in her dialogue post-sex here is trying to get a rise out of him, trying to get him to demonstrate something (passionate) that will let her know she should stay. But at this point Tommy thinks he’s dying, so instead she gets that absolutely steady, controlled, dispassionate monologue about regret, curses, love etc. In response to that dispassion, she’s the one who fires up (literally a shower of sparks!), lunges at him and grabs his face. She was trying to get passion out of him (no more box ticking) but instead she’s the one who tips into passion. Whatever words she uses, the underlying sense I get is ‘just do something, anything, to let me know you want me to stay, I am showing you right now I am still fiery for this and am literally holding on to you!’ But his arms stay wide open and clear of her — he’s said his sorry, and he’s letting her go if she chooses.
-Nevertheless, they then have that uncertain/fraught, but very intimate sequence where they’re getting dressed for Nelson’s visit, which feels weirdly to me like their ‘deal’ sequence in S5. Lizzie is still there. Lizzie is still engaging with Tommy and his plots. Lizzie is the one who reaches/asks (I’m still intending to stay, Tommy, I’m here), and so Tommy makes her this commitment: ‘when i know everything then i will tell you everything.’ This would be easy to dismiss as his typical cryptic crossword clue bullshit, because my first interpretation of this was; ‘it’s clearly not possible to know everything, therefore this condition cannot be met, and he won’t tell you anything.’ Except!
-when they’re then having dinner with Nelson, Tommy then gives Lizzie the meaningful eye with a very husband-wife-codespeak kinda vibe and indicates ‘when I return from Canada I will know everything’ and she goes, ‘Oh’. So if she really is committed to hanging on, now he’s anchored his promise with a very specific timeline for telling her/concluding this whole sequence where he’s cutting her out/changing for good.
-Except Diana gatecrashes, tips Lizzie over the edge, and Lizzie resolves to leave, and then actually does leave. Now, when Tommy’s been unfaithful before, why this? Not just that it’s so close to Ruby’s funeral and is potentially read as a disrespect of Lizzie’s grief, but Lizzie also says Diana is “every enemy we ever had in one woman”. An aristocrat, a fascist, and…?????? Mean to Lizzie personally? Symbolically Lizzie’s diametric opposite (a lady in Eaton Square is as coarse as an Aston whore?). Whatever, something in that statement indicates Tommy’s told Lizzie enough about Mosley and Diana, probably after Lizzie and Diana’s introduction, for Lizzie to understand just how deadly Diana is. But in that, if Tommy’s also told Lizzie he has to comply with these people in order to stay in their plans and capture information, then…why is the sex such a dealbreaker? I’m constantly trying to read this as “Why did Tommy’s infidelity cost Lizzie such that she now writes off ALL her other sunk costs?” Was it just a final disrespect of her that she couldn’t take?
-Lizzie cuts off Tommy’s dispassionate (and very weak/pathetic IMO) attempt to explain, noting “the truth gets in your eyes”. The truth I think she sees is his terminal diagnosis combined with having no real compelling reason to sleep with Diana. He’s now on a timeline to rapidly push his ‘good legacy’ (the social housing bill and associated outcomes), and needs Diana for that, so slipped up by making himself too available. Diana then does not commit to help but her involvement in the fascist plot line then means he can’t walk away from the sex because it might stuff up his position as an informant, or his deal with Nelson. So he basically snookered himself into complying with sex, and has no good explanation to give Lizzie because he actually had no meaningful reason to do it, only a bunch of ‘what ifs’ and ‘if i don’t, some other unintended consequence might occur’. The potential of losing Lizzie is something he’s already resigned to, so the least-cost/least-risk consequence is to sleep with Diana at potential loss of Lizzie — noting he had no reason to think Lizzie would find out. Except once he does it, he realises it wasn’t least cost - he absolutely sinks into shame and hurt.
It’s complicated, but it’s not cold…

Okay so, just to recap:
Ruby drives away Little, which works. That's a classic "I hate myself and am being cruel in order to supposedly protect you, but you'll still follow me out of love anyway" situation.
Neo's semblance has evolved to the point where she can keep multiple, independent copies going at once, all of which have a different veneer, as well as a whole-ass mansion for them to play in. Sure! Why not! We're well past the point of power scaling jumping the shark.
All these copies can talk. I don't care if this is some Ever After magic, Neo is mute! Let her be mute!!
The story straight up forgot what information Neo has. Does she know anything about Ruby and Penny's friendship? Is she aware that Clover died out in the snow? Is mind-reading a part of her semblance now too?
How come everyone else hasn't gotten insane semblance power ups? Jaune must feel so cheated after spending a whole lifetime here...
Ruby defends herself against this horrific onslaught despite JUST being unable to fight against more garden-variety baddies. Is she having a crippling aversion to Crescent Rose or not?
Ruby is physically and psychologically tortured which, while compelling, means that every criticism we're shown is easily dismissed. The question of whether Ruby has caused more harm than good isn't really something to grapple with, it's a horrific lie told by the villain that Ruby needs to be rescued from. It's the Caterpillar situation on steroids and the extreme nature of the scenario just makes the viewer uncomfortable (understandably!), rather than allowing space to acknowledge, "The dead allies she's at times had a hand in getting killed have a point about Ruby's consequence-laden failures."
This includes images of the adults in her life - notably adults that the show has demonized - beating her to a bloody pulp to the point where we're shown rare injuries. Great! Love watching my discourse-laden faves choking a teen against the wall and beating her with a cane /s
This culminates in Ruby slicing "Oscar" in half, the kid who previously underwent torture too. This guy just can't catch a break.
Also love the implication that seeing Oscar cut in half is psychologically damaging, but if the copy had stayed as Ozpin it would have been fine. Or at least far less impactful. Why would Ruby care about her old headmaster who remains a current ally in this fight? Seeing HIM dead, even if it's a fake currently attacking her, just doesn't mean much emotionally.
Little is dead. I mean, they'll probably resurrect them somehow, or reveal that they were just badly injured, but Neo was grinding her heel. The tiny mouse should be a goner.
Yang is pissed at her little sister for having a breakdown after she spent the last two days flirting with her girlfriend instead of acknowledging the horrors they've all been through. Sibling of the year.
Then all of them just STAND THERE while Ruby, injured and lying on the ground, surrounded by enemies, sloooooooowly drinks the clearly messed-up tea. Hey, at least the sisters are even now? Ruby just stood there while Yang fell and Yang just stood there while Ruby killed herself. Great job, girls.
Oh yeah, hey, RT? It's called "themes of suicide," not just "distressing themes." Kudos for having our protagonist make a huge mistake that's FRAMED as a mistake and should have an interesting impact on the story... but warn appropriately for it, yeah?
Why does Neo want Ruby to be remade via the tree instead of just killing her? Idk idk.
Then she immediately goes comatose because apparently killing Ruby was the only thing keeping her going. There's no interest in ruling the Ever After. No temptation to spend all her time with this fake Roman that can, apparently, hold independent conversations with her and generally act like the real Roman did. Like, tell me this isn't a Neo falling hard into her fantasy, content to have "Roman" again in this magical world:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No desire either to go get revenge on Cinder for dropping her here in the first place. Neo is just done now that Ruby has fallen into a root-covered void. 10/10 great character depth.
Love the insanely evil Cat but... what's is their actual goal? Something about curiosity, something about being left by their creators, something about needing a host, something about broken hearts?? This would all be far more compelling to me if I had a better handle on what exactly they wanted.
Preview of next episode: Yang, Weiss, and Blake are totally fine with Ruby's choice. I mean, why wouldn't they be? It's not death! The Paper Pleasers promised! It's her right to go to the tree if that's what she wants and you need to rethink your narrow perspective if you're going to be upset about that choice. This is a totally fine outcome and they can just go find this new, definitely improved Ruby to take back to Remnant. No reason to be sad about it. Right, Jaune? :)))
Oh, and there's only two episodes left to do [gestures] everything.

Parents in RWBY be like
Tumblr media
And I don't mean just Raven. Kali, Ghira and even Taiyang are no saints either. Qrow doesn't try to teach/warn Ruby and Yang about the past or anything really (in that aspect even Raven has done more for Yang), and you already know everything you need to know about Weiss' parents. Wish we could learn more about Summer's flaws as a parent, assuming she had any, but so far out of all of them, she remains the best imo.
Yeah, as much as I like Taiyang, he and the other parents suffer from writers who need these parents to not be there so that the kids can drive the story, but can't come up with good reasons as to why they wouldn't be there.
Which makes them look neglegent at BEST. The only reason Taiyang isn't with his daughters right now is because the writers didn't want him joining the cast that's already struggling. He was meant to serve as a prop for Yang's "recovery" arc and then get dumped, similar to Blake's parents.
At least in other shows, they do a better job at explaining why it has to be the kid characters. ATLA, for example, has it that all the capable adults went off to fight in the war, and those left behind are too old and sick to do anything. There's literally no one in the SWT than Katara and Sokka to help Aang.
And even when there's an explanation, the characters are allowed to be mad at their parents. Katara is angry and upset that Hakoda left them, and he listens because he understands. We don't see any of that in RWBY, even to the point that Blake blamed herself for running away and Ghira allowed her to do so.

Ruby sighed finding herself back on the roof of the studio with Josiah just staring at her. Ruby had moved onto the floor surrounded by the memories of izzi. Realizing that pictures, plushies and journals didn’t feel that heavy anymore.. didn’t feel any form of a pull towards them. R:“I was jealous… Tobias has been the first person to makes me feel that way.. the fact that I only now realize this.. is fucked up… I was never jealous when it came to izzi no matter who they talked too. Who made them blush… but with Tobias it was instant.I wanted to break Bailey's fingers. Who by the way is very nice actually.. did we just decide without actually speaking that we have feelings…”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
R: "Josiah." Josiah jerked at his name being called realizing he had been in deep thought about what he was just being told. Everything screamed "YOU GUYS ARE IN LOVE" but he couldn't figure out why his sister was so resistant to it. J: "Ruby."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
J: "you are genuinely giving me a headache. you cant honestly be this stupid.." R: "Excuse me" josiah narrowed his eyes at Ruby and began speaking with movement in his body. J: "you really don't see it... i don't understand you. you have this perfect and i mean PERFECT guy right in front of you yet you are still so hooked on Izzi.. i get it Izzi.. is Izzi... But that shit was 6 consistent years ago. you need to move on.. you are literally saying it yourself.. HE IS DIFFERENT! YOU are different with him. This whole time you were speaking on both Izzi and Tobias... there was huge and i mean HUGE difference... yes you loved... not love Izzi... you did very much and you will always but there is a difference of loving someone and being in love... and sister dearest.. i think you are in love but not with who you think you are." Ruby didn't say anything only to look down and fidget with their hands. "then why do i feels this way if you are oh so wise right now.." the response might have sound sarcastic and a bit belittling but genuinely she wanted to know. J: "i think you are clinging onto it because Izzi was your first real love.. we cant deny that.. they were but it was puppy love.. you guys needed each other in that time to grow, to become who you are now.. to find the person who you are supposed to be with. I am sorry but you and Izzi were never going to be long term." R: "How would you know.." Josiah gave her a sad smile as his voice softened for a moment. "because i see the way you look at Tobias... sure He makes you crazy and weirdly that is what liking... no LOVING someone does.. it drives you nuts yet you still want to be around them no matter how much they annoy you... you complain and complain about him being this free little hippie boy.. but yet you never really walk away from it.. With Izzi... you left.. -ruby was about to testify but Josiah cut her off- you. left. Ruby. if you really loved them the way that you have tricked yourself into believing than you wouldn't have left... but you did.. because they are not the one."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ruby just stared at her brother, he was never one to be serious, to drop his tone in such a stern and aggravated way. Despite him being Ruby's kid brother.. he too had his scary moments. Ruby sighed heavily and pealed herself up on the sofa behind her
Tumblr media Tumblr media
R: "So you are saying Tobias is the one?"
J: "That I don't know.. That for you to find out"
R: "Such bullshit.."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
J: "Nope, it is not. not in this moment you need tough love and who better to give you that than myself. you are being stupid here... you are quite literally having Tobias wrapped around your finger and yet you don't want him? bullshit. Did you know i had to stop him from bargaining into the gym when you told me to tell him you didn't want to see him. HE LOVES YOU! YOU KNOW IT! I KNOW IT! HE DEFINITELY KNOWS IT! And you are being stupid. Ruby sighed and looked down feeling quite literally scolded at this point and groaned, hearing movement only to see an envelope being waved in her face. she looked at it and then at her brother who gave her a small smile. R: "What is it?" J: "Your invitation... since when I first brought it up you slammed a door in my face I feel like now is the right time to hand it over..." Ruby hesitated on taking it and let out another deep breath, slowly flipping it open and giving Josiah one last glance hoping he would stop her. but no. So she opened it.. seeing the black and gold card itself. slowly she opened it, immediately being faced with what she had feared since the day Josiah told her about the wedding.
Tumblr media
Ruby's breath hitched lightly as they stared at the picture... Izzi looked different.. happy actually, happily standing next to the unknown woman Josiah addressed as juju. She was beautiful, so vibrant you could feel the warmth radiating off of the picture. leaving a sad but yet happy emotion on her chest. "i have to admit... Izzi has good taste..."
R: "This is Juju?" Ruby managed to say while still just staring at the picture.
Josiah hummed a yes "Yeah that is Juju.. or jujubug. she is well known Party planner in San my and quite frankly.. sorry sister but i am obsessed with her.. she is actually what you see."
R: " stunning...- Ruby said without thinking and looked up at Josiah who smirked.
J: "I know right.. they both look fabulous as usual." he sat there giving his sister time to process for a bit, just stared at her lightly clutching the card in her hand.
J:"how do you feel seeing that..?"
ruby let out a breath and slowly began to nod her head "Not as bad as I thought I was going to feel... i don't know.. i am weirdly happy that they found happiness... it's just i think i was clinging on to a version of them that i knew well... that only i had and well this Izzi.. i don't know much of. it's sad... they weren't just my lover... but also my best friend.. family.."
J: "It's not too late to mend that..." Josiah gestured with his head to look in the envelope. She did just that and found a small note hidden at the bottom, unfolding it slowly only for their eye to widen.
it was a note from Izzi addressed to Ruby..
"Hi Ruby, I just want you to know that I am sorry.. I am sorry about how we ended. It wasn't just a relationship that ended but our friendship too and I miss it. I miss you. I know I might be asking a lot of you to come to my wedding.. my wedding... crazy.. but i really want you there... I want you to meet Juju.. weirdly enough she reminds me a lot of you at times.. a bit calmer but also more chaotic at times.. she knows about you, and wants to meet you as well.. you might not have forgiven me, but i have forgiven you because i have come to realize that you, Josiah, my aunt, and now Juju are the only real family I got.. I won't hold it against you if you don't come... but you are more than welcome to.. Sincerely, Izzi."

A couple of my favorite things from each Pokemon generation
I have a lot of negative things to say about recent Pokemon, but I kinda want to offset that with a list of some of my actual favorite things. There are a lot, so I'm going to try and list just one from each gen.
Gen 1
Probably the hardest to come up with, since later games mostly improved upon the formula. I could just say "it's the first Pokemon game" but that feels like a cop-out. So, instead, I'll say it's the sort of mystery it had. You'd find new things out from being told by friends. There were rumors about how to catch the mythical Mew. There was the superstition that holding down certain buttons would help catch Pokemon. It may have just been a thing of its time, given the state of the internet back then. But there's something about getting information from guides and friends instead of an ad-ridden barf of a website that made Pokemon feel really personal.
Actually, I just remembered one more positive in me. Gary being an absolute asshole. I love being able to take my rival down a notch. I don't want to feel bad I destroyed my rival because they're a great person. I want to rub it in Gary's dumb face.
Gen 2
The phone system. Being able to get calls from trainers, asking for a rematch was the coolest thing. It made the world feel so alive. Like there were things going on while you were training to become a champion.
Tumblr media
I'm surprised we don't have anything like this in modern Pokemon games. A fake social media network would be sooooo cool to see within Pokemon. Gen 7 kinda had this with the photos, but the responses weren't from NPCs you've met. It felt kind of flat to me. But if Youngster Joey followed me and commented on every picture of a Ratata I posted, I'd be stoked. If my rival sent pics of their travels while I did mine, it would make me want to go out and find those places and show them up. I think there is a lot of potential to make the Pokemon world feel more lived-in in the games.
Gen 3
So, Gen 3 is two things, but both because of the same reason: Puzzles and Exploration.
Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald had a lot of depth to the maps. You could climb your bike up the side of a mountain and drive over a bridge from where you were just standing. The sense of exploration was strong too. You could dive underwater and see the depths. Too much water, my ass.
Tumblr media
Exploration felt worth it too. Especially the Regi trio. Three legendary Pokemon you get just by wandering around and hearing myths and solving puzzles. None of it is part of the main story. You feel rewarded for exploration. We got a whole open world in Gen 9, but none of the exploration really feels as worth it as it did in Gen 3.
Tumblr media
And the puzzles were really fun too. They had a slight challenge to them as a kid. In the newer games, the gym challenges feel a little more like filler than a challenge. The themed puzzles were almost a staple of Pokemon gameplay at this point, from spinning tiles, to cracking ice blocks to pushing boulders around. It was a part of Pokemon's DNA, and honestly, I miss it.
I put these in the same category because of the Regi trio. They are the result of exploration and puzzles, and I really feel like they highlight everything that was great about Gen 3 gameplay.
Gen 4
The best thing I remember about Gen 4 was the lore. And it had to be in Gen 4! This was the game where the creation trio was introduced. But seeing all this lore really helped to flesh out the world a lot. I really want to see more story outside of the main storyline and Pokedex entries. I want to know about the wars that happened long ago. I want to know the myths that the mythicals were involved in. I want to know more about this world that GameFreak has created. We do see a little bit of that in Legends: Arceus. And I love it for it.
Tumblr media
Gen 5
Sprites.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I never had the opportunity to play the Gen 5 games until after I completed Gen 7. But I do remember that I was blown away by the personality that the sprites brought. Every single one was animated in such a way that really highlighted that Pokemon's personality. The idle animations in modern games can feel a little bland and stiff. But just look at this! Wings flapping, mouth chomping, this guy feels alive. This kind of personality really helped the Black and White games feel so organic.
Gen 6
Pokemon Amie.
Tumblr media
It's one thing to select an item, click use, and then just heal your Pokemon up. But, I'm playing Pokemon because I love my partners in crime. I want to give them the praise they deserve, not just run to a salon and select the option to groom them. And feed them. It was like a dumbed-down Nintendogs, and I would love for there to be more Pokemon games that expand on this idea. Or even just bring it back in full in a new game.
Honestly, the whole online capability of the game was great, that whole section on the lower part of the 3DS. It was really easy to find trades, battles, etc, something that I think the new games lack for some reason.
Oh, and Megas were also really cool. Probably the best "Gimmick".
Gen 7
Tumblr media
Gen 7 was in a kind of transition period, but honestly, it had one of my favorite stories. A lot was going on, and it was great. Runaway hooligans, interdimensional travel, mind control... this game had it all. The characters are fun, especially Guzma (what a name, by the way). And from what I remember, post game for Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon were really cool for having all of the big bosses from previous games show up and say what happened in the worlds in which they won.
Runner up is wild double-battles (SOS battles). I miss in-game double battles...
Gen 8
Tumblr media
This one is a tough one. Not that I particularly hated Gen 8, no. It's just that it was in a sort of experimental period that Gen 9 greatly improved upon. It was the first attempt at a semi-open world, and it was pretty cool, but underwhelming. But, it definitely opened up my mind to what Pokemon could be. They were finally trying new things that strayed from the original formula. Raid Dens were a neat concept, but just didn't feel like it had the epicness it was going for. The Wild Area was cool, but not as explorable as I hoped. But, at the very least, it let me know that Pokemon didn't have to be just the same linear path every generation. Maybe in the future we can finally get back to the exploration and collection that made Pokemon so enjoyable. Which led to...
Gen 9
Everything that Gen 8 was trying to do, Gen 9 improved. Not perfected. Far from it. But it started getting closer to what I imagine to be my perfect Pokemon game. I'm not going to explain my perfect Pokemon game here, but I will highlight a few things about Gen 9.
First, of course, is open-world exploration. I remember taking on the challenge of doing the gyms in reverse order. And while I would have loved some better scaling, it was just really cool to be able to do the gyms and story in my own way. I really hope they fix it up a bit and continue it.
Tumblr media
Then, there's the story itself. The game went real. A little darker than some of the previous games, but not edgy dark. No spoilers, of course, but it was good to see characters get plenty of character growth and screentime. It was cute. It was sad. It was fun.
Tumblr media
Raids were also improved. It still has its connection problems. But the biweekly 7-stars feel more of a challenge. I don't like that it's built around FOMO and I feel it should rotate. And when they drop support for the game, there will no longer be 7-stars. Maybe they'll patch something in, but I'm doubtful. Still. I do enjoy it better at least than previous raids.
Tumblr media
If I could, I would also add in some of the side games to this list as well, but this is already a long post, so maybe in another.
Anyways, I'd love to hear what all other people enjoyed about these games. I know there's a lot of hate for these games every gen, and I know I've rambled about things that I would have liked to see done better. But there's also plenty to love about this franchise.

Somewhat related but it's also been really weird to see "Alyx is related to Pietro" or "Lewis is that one Dad Oz from Lost Fable" pretty much entirely based on the fact they're all brown skinned? Like, that second one especially. I've seen so many people say "They look exactly the same" when the skin tone is different, the eye color is different, the hair color is different, and even the way they textured Lewis' hair is different.
yeah
at least part of it seems like some really bizarre drive to make the world smaller based on the loosest of connections (and that connection being their skin colour is an especially weird thing to fixate on - like Ruby and Clover are both pale as fucking snow i don't hear anyone claiming he's secretly Summer's brother)
these characters can just exist on their own, guys, not as extensions of others - like half the time what would the point even be? it's like that "Oz is the origin of Silver Eyes" thing because one incarnation had Silver Eyed kids when... a) that's never come up again, so unlikely, b) why? how? and c) given that the man clearly has no clue how they work and Ruby had to get her info from someone else (who, oh yeah, they immediately decided was related to that incarnations kids, once again based on nothing but skin tone - Maria saw that vision too and didn't comment so we can safely so no on that), it's quite clear Oz has nothing to do with Silver Eyes
also d) that just makes everything Oz has done even more fucked up, especially given the conflict between him and Salem started because he was trying to protect their kids
like? Lewis and Alyx can just be kids from Remnant who got caught up in something bigger than themselves, not everything has to relate back to Oz being a fuck-up

General opinion on mercury?
Merc! That's my sister's blorbo, so I love him. XD
Mercury is one of the few rwby characters who hasn't been severely impacted by bad writing, but that's largely because of how underutilized and ignored he's been.
He's a good character, his motivations are interesting to me simply because he doesn't really seem to have any, but in a way that actually makes sense. His motivations are that he just goes along with whatever is happening, he was raised into a certain life and never thought to doubt it because that's just how things were, and when he finally did snap and kill his father, he decided meeting Cinder and Cinder bringing him into her plans was fate and just went along with it, and just didn't ever really question his place in it even though he knew Cinder was manipulating him and didn't care about him. Even when confronted with the fact that Salem's plans might not be what she presented them as, he barely seemed to care because unlike Emerald he was never actually in this to make a new world. He's like an evil Sonic the Hedgehog, like "It doesn't matter now what happens, I will never give up the fight! Long as the voice inside drives me to run and fight, it doesn't matter who is wrong and who is right" it fits him, just in the evil way.
Also, before everyone got nerfed by bad fight choreography, Mercury was one of the top notch fighters in the show and I won't be taking criticism on that point. Kid dodged lightning
Tumblr media
Kid kicked Ruby out of her super speed
Tumblr media
And the other fights we see from him in the early seasons, he's barely even trying, with the exception of Merc V Yang which seems to be the most effort he puts into his fighting that we ever see and we know he still throws the competition.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm convinced that if they hadn't downgraded their combat to such a terrible degree, then we would've seen Mercury in even better fights. One of the few characters that I think could probably hold their own against Neo in her prime who ran circles around Yang.
But enough about the combat, because what's really great about Mercury is the potential! Because of his motivations, you can pretty much assign him any story or morality in a re-write that you want without changing his character too much. If Mercury got picked up by Qrow and taken to Ozpin after killing his father instead of getting picked up by Cinder and taken into Salem's circle, he'd have a completely different story and a whole new outlook. If Mercury had been picked up by Sienna Kahn and befriended Adam rather than being picked up by Cinder and befriending Emerald than he'd have a completely different story and a whole new outlook. If Cinder had put Mercury and Emerald on a team with Sun and Neptune instead of being on the team herself with a disguised Neo, he could probably befriend them and have a completely different story and a whole new outlook. If Mercury wound up getting dragged into running away from Salem with Emerald and instead started working with a 'survived the Fall of Beacon Roman Torchwick' who made them join the good side in an effort to beat Salem (which is what I went with for most of my fics lol) he'd have a completely different story and a whole new outlook. Also his potential dynamics outside of Emerald and Cinder are also incredibly interesting (just to be clear, his dynamics with Emerald and Cinder are also interesting but since those are the only dynamics that get any care in the show, I'm skipping over them,) especially if you start having him get a redemption arc. Because the thing about a good redemption arc is that the past doesn't just go away, it still impacts people. Mercury trying to be friends with Ruby, but knowing that the hand he played in Penny's death is always right there in her head is such a good concept. Mercury maybe having something romantic with Yang, but knowing that not only did he cheat and make her think she was losing her mind in the Vytal Tournament, but also helped cause the events that led to so much pain for her is such a good idea. Mercury befriending Nora, but always being aware of 'Pyrrha' hanging over their heads is such a good idea!
Mercury is a character that you can do so much with! The number one problem with Mercury's character is that it's been stagnating and given next to nothing for years. The last time something really interesting happened with his character was in volume six, and that was just one scene, and now volume eight set up 'he might be used more interestingly in the future,' but outside of that, he really hasn't been treated as relevant or important or been given much as a character since volume 3. This has kept him from being affected by the bad writing curse that's made almost every single character who wasn't dead by V3 an idiot, a jerk, or just plain boring, but it's also made him pretty... dry? I don't know the right word, it just feels like I often forget he exists when I'm actually watching the show these days, until he's actually on screen which is rarely. That's a bad thing. Boy literally just showed up in volume eight to remind the audience that he existed before he noped out of the season without doing anything. I wish he was better used, but a part of me hopes Mercury stays away so he stays a generally pretty good character, even if he has to remain a villain to achieve it.
Anyway, thanks for this ask!

The first shelter was a complete bust and the second and third refuse to help you. No one wants to help you for whatever reason, and you're starting to get pissed off about the lack of help.
"Look, for the billionth time, we're just looking for some information, okay? We're not cops. I mean, do we look like cops?" Dean tries to convince the people of the fourth shelter.
They all look at each other and nod, and you grow tired of their behavior. Your eyes shine bright blue, and everyone within the inner circle is affected by your magic. Their eyes glow bright blue, and the Winchester brothers look at each other.
"We're not cops," you state "We're just trying to find our friend. He might have been here the night that guy was killed. He's got dark hair, blue eyes, and he might be a little out of it. He goes by Clarence. Are any of you going to help us?"
"I remember him," one of the men state and come forward.
"Did you two talk?" you ask, dimming the light in your eyes as well as everyone else's.
"Not much. I think he was on the run."
"Did you see him with the victim?"
"No. He went off to sleep in another part of the resort."
"Where?"
"Well, he's not there now."
"Where did he go?" Dean asks impatiently.
"I saw him running from under the bridge to the highway. He flagged a truck heading north. Detroit, probably."
"Why Detroit?"
"The truck was marked 'Motor City Meats'. They're based out of Detroit."
Now you're getting somewhere. It's too late to do yet another drive since Detroit is four more hours from where you are now. You need a break, and it's clear the girls are getting fussy from all this traveling. The best thing to do right now is to get some dinner and rest at a motel for a few more hours.
Dean stopped at a convenience store to grab some food and extra groceries with Sam while you stayed by the car with the kids. You're giving Maryann a bottle when the brothers come out with bags in hand.
"Look at these chemicals. Do you even read the label?" Sam complains about the pie Dean picked out.
"No," Dean snatches it out of his brother's hand and puts it back into the bag, "I read 'pie'. The rest is just 'blah, blah, blah'. Listen, when we hit Detroit, we start with the homeless shelters, then go to the encampments and soup kitchens. We should also check out places he might have gone looking for work."
You look up and see the brothers pass by someone on a pay phone, and as soon as they don't see him, he begins following them. Normally, you wouldn't mind this but he has that look on his face that says he is trouble. You quickly look away and pull out your phone to message your husband.
Don't look now, but you're being followed.
Dean looks at his phone and frowns at the message before showing his brother. Instead of stopping at the car and potentially putting you and the kids at risk, they pass by you without a glance in your direction. The man doesn't know any better and passes by you as well. They continue talking as if nothing is wrong and turn the corner that leads into the alleyway between two stores.
The man is two seconds behind them, but when he turns into the alleyway, Sam and Dean are gone. He looks around cautiously and that is when Sam and Dean attack him. They push him against the wall and point an angel blade and Ruby's knife against his throat.
"Who the hell are you?!"
"Why are you tailing us?"
The man is too stunned to speak, but it's not like he is given the chance to. Now that Sam and Dean have him in their clutches, there is no way he's getting out of this alive. In order to get what they want, they need to be out of the public's eye. So, they practically drag the man to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. Of course, you didn't let him into the car with the kids, so you drove while Sam and Dean took him on a nice little walk.
Once out of the public's eye, they cuffed him to an overhead beam while they beat answers out of him. You don't want your kids to see this kind of violence, so you used your magic to put them to sleep in your arms. The Winchester brothers are masters in getting answers, and this is no different. They barely have to work for it before the man spills everything.
This man is a reaper, and once he heard Sam and Dean talking about Castiel, he trailed them for more information.
"So, you bounty hunters are like Delta Force reapers? Why would they sic you on Cas?" Dean asks.
"He warded himself."
"Did Naomi hire you?"
"You really are out of the loop," the reaper laughs. "Naomi's dead. Resting in pieces."
"Who's running things now?" Sam asks, but the man doesn't answer. Dean grows impatient and punches the man as hard as he can. "Want to answer now?"
"Her protégé, Bartholomew. He's an up-and-comer. He figured you three would lead me to Cas."
"Is Bartholomew organizing the angels?" Dean asks.
The reaper doesn't answer, and Dean slashes his stomach with the angel blade. The reaper jumps back in pain, but he can't seem to go anywhere with his hands tied to the overhead beam.
"That's all I know," he groans in pain. Dean places the tip of the angel blade on his throat, and the reaper shakes his head. "You can kill me. It won't matter. If I don't find Castiel, there are others that will, but do what you want."
"Sure," Dean nods.
Dean pushes the angel blade through the reaper's chin and out of his mouth, effectively killing him. You're glad the kids are asleep because you don't want them to witness this. With him out of the way, you can head to Detroit in hopes Castiel is there. Since you have food in the car, you can eat on the road. It's going to take four hours to get there, and Dean doesn't waste a second of it.
You get there in the middle of the night, so you stop at a motel to get some sleep before continuing the next morning. As soon as the sun rises, you're back on the road trying to find him. You've looked in almost all of the homeless shelters around town, in places where Castiel might go for work, and everything in between.
It's clear he isn't here, and if he is, then he is really good at hiding.
Dean is tired of driving around town with no hope of finding his friend, so he pulls the car over in frustration.
"What's up?" Sam asks, not knowing why his brother stopped.
"We've been chasing our tails all morning, and Cas is nowhere to be found. We're fried. I think it's time for plan B."
"I'm not following."
"I'm letting you know," Dean says meaningfully.
He's not talking to Sam, he's talking to Ezekiel.
"Okay, letting me know what?" Sam asks, still confused.
"I'm letting you know," Dean says in a stronger tone.
Ezekiel finally takes over once he hears the urgency in Dean's voice, and you sag your shoulders in defeat.
"What is it, Dean?"
"We need your help."
"That is flattering, but we've been through this. I cannot be making public appearances," the angel says and looks around worriedly.
"We're not asking you to parade down the street," you sigh. "We need your help finding Castiel."
"It cannot be done. He is warded."
"I know that, but maybe you can use your intergalactic, hyperspace, X-ray eyeballs to find someone else. There might be a reaper for rent on his ass. Can you find them?" Dean asks.
"I can try."
Ezekiel focuses as hard as he can, and while he can't find Castiel, he does find the reaper who is bragging that she has him in her grasp. Castiel is in Detroit but on the other side of town. As soon as Dean hears this, he hauls ass over to where Ezekiel said Castiel is. He's inside some house in the middle of a suburban neighborhood that doesn't seem too dangerous at first glance.
Joanna hops out of the car just as you grab Maryann, and you rush into the house hoping that Castiel isn't dead. You hand Maryann to her sister, and Joanna takes her without a second thought.
"Sit here and do not move. Okay? Mommy's going to save Uncle Cassie."
"Okay," she says and sits on the ground with her sister.
You blast the door down with your magic only to see Castiel tied to a chair with his shirt off and blood trickling down his chest. There is a woman who you assume to be the reaper with an angel blade in her hand. She turns when she hears the intrusion, and she glares at you three. Without hesitation, she stabs Castiel in the chest with the angel blade. You yell and blast her away from him in hopes she didn't kill him.
Dean draws his own angel blade, and both brothers run at her at full speed. She uses her reaper powers and blasts them back into the china cabinet and over the kitchen table. Dean drops his angel blade, and she kicks it away from them so they can't use it on her.
Her powers don't work on you, and you dodge her attempt at punching you square in the jaw. You duck out of the way and grab her throat before squeezing very tightly. Your eyes shine bright blue, and no matter how hard she tries, she can't escape your grasp.
"Do not ever touch my family again," you growl lowly.
Dean gets up and grabs the fallen angel blade from the ground, and you see an opportunity to kill her. You throw her on the ground with all your might, and before she has a chance to react, Dean comes up behind her and stabs the knife into her chest.
With her dead, you can focus your energy on Castiel.
"Castiel!" you gasp and run over to him.
Sam emerges from the closet where the angel tossed him, but you can tell with one look that it's not Sam--it's Ezekiel. You yank the blade out of Castiel's chest, but before he can bleed out, you place your hands over his wound. Your eyes shine bright blue as you work your magic through his body. His skin stitches back together, and because this was a near-fatal wound, the wound is transferred to you.
Your skin breaks open in the same spot as Castiel's but you ignore the pain. A pool of blood forms on the front of your shirt, but you don't stop until Castiel is all healed up. He barely opens his eyes enough to see the blood spilling on your shirt.
"Don't. I'm not worth it," Castiel mutters.
"Shut up."
You continue to heal him until he is all better, but the energy depleted from the wound is still gone, so Castiel is going to be a little loopy for a while. You, on the other hand, stumble back from the wound on your chest. Dean rushes over to you to catch you so you don't fall to the ground.
"Are you okay?"
"I will be. It'll heal, but Castiel is going to be okay."
You look over at Sam to see Ezekiel watching you with a careful eye. He seems interested in what you just did, but before he can comment, Sam collapses to the ground as he takes over his body.
"You shouldn't have done that," Castiel groans.
"You were going to die, and I refuse to lose anyone else," you say. "I'll be fine."
Seconds later, Sam comes to and looks around the room in confusion. He sees Castiel and jumps up to greet him.
"Cas. You're okay."
"Never do that again!" Dean yells at Castiel. "When I say haul ass to the Bunker, you haul ass!"
"I tried, but I didn't want to lead them there. I'm sorry," he sighs.
"It's okay," you groan and sit up. "You're okay now. We can all go back to the bunker safe and sound."
"Yeah, I'd like that," Castiel chuckles.
The Bunker is fourteen hours away from Detroit, but that time gives you the opportunity to heal. You have to sit in the front seat with the brothers while Castiel sits in the back since two of the seats are taken up by your daughters.
Eventually, you all reach the Bunker safe and sound.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Castiel asks as Sam and Dean go off on their own.
Joanna runs to her playroom to play, and you place Maryann who is sleeping in her car seat on the table.
"Yeah, I'm all healed up." You lift your shirt to show Castiel the smooth skin, and he blushes hard. "All better."
Castiel sees your anti-possession tattoo peeking out from the top of your pants since you got it on your hip, and he looks away quickly.
"Why don't you go shower and meet us back here when you're done? Use anything you want."
"Okay."
Castiel can find the bathroom on his own, and you take Maryann out of her car seat. She fusses at her sleep being interrupted, but she quickly falls back into her slumber. You join Sam and Dean in the war room where they're arguing. Dean has a burrito in his hand since you had some leftovers from earlier in the week.
"You know, you never answered my question. How did you know where to find Cas?" Sam asks.
"I told you. I went through the reaper's pockets. I found an address and took a shot."
"I never saw you go through his pockets."
"What are you talking about? I don't see half of the nerdy stuff that you do. It doesn't mean that you don't do nerdy stuff," Dean says defensively.
If Sam continues questioning you like this, then he is going to figure this out and will hate you for a very long time. He'll eventually forgive you, but he'll definitely hold that grudge. They can keep arguing, but as soon as Castiel comes back in a fresh change of clothes, they stop.
"I am really enjoying this place. Plentiful food. Good water pressure. Things I never even considered before. There really is a lot to being human, isn't there?" Castiel smiles.
"It ain't all just burritos and strippers, my friend," Dean says and holds up his burrito.
"Yes. I understand what you're saying."
"You do?" you ask.
"Yes, there's more to humanity than survival. You look for purpose, and you must not be defeated by anger, despair, or hedonism for that matter."
"Where does hedonism come into it?"
"Well, my time with April was very educational."
April must have been the reaper he was with before you arrived.
"Yeah. I mean, I would think that almost getting killed is something," Sam chuckles.
"And having sex."
Dean chokes on his burrito, Sam is shocked, and your jaw drops slightly.
"You had sex with April?"
"Yeah, that would be where hedonism comes in," Sam whispers.
"Shh," Dean waves him off and focuses on Castiel instead. "So, did you have protection?"
"I had my angel blade," Castiel says seriously.
"Oh, he had the angel blade," Dean repeats and looks at Sam who rolls his eyes.
You can't help but giggle at Castiel's innocence. He has a lot to learn now that he is human.
"In any event, I do now see how difficult life can be and how well you three have led it. I think you'll be great teachers. Are there more burritos?"
"Yeah, in the kitchen."
Castiel leaves to get more food, and as soon as he is gone, Ezekiel shines through.
"Castiel cannot stay here. He will bring the angels down on all of us."
"No, no, he's got the Enochian tattoo. He's warded."
"He was warded when April found him, and she nearly killed him," he glares.
"Yes, but my wife brought him back. This is Cas who vouched for you when I didn't know you from Jack. The bunker is safe," Dean argues.
"Bartholomew is massing a force. We cannot stand an incursion. Castiel is in danger, and if he is here, I am in danger."
"Why are you in danger?" you ask cautiously.
"If he stays, I am afraid I will have no choice but to leave."
"Oh, no, you can't do that. Sam's not well enough. If you leave his body, he could die."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"You're asking us to choose between two family members?" you gasp.
"Unfortunately."
Dean looks at you for answers, but you shake your head with tears in your eyes. You know exactly who he is choosing, and you're not going to be the one to tell Castiel he has to leave.
"No, you're going to have to do it. I won't. I'm not the one who wants him to leave."
"Y/N, Sam will die."
"I know, but I won't be making that choice. You have to tell him. I have to put Maryann down for the night. Excuse me," you whisper.
You pass by the library and see Castiel happily eating a burrito. You let a few tears fall before continuing on your way. Dean slowly walks into the library and approaches Castiel.
"This ethnic food. I can't get enough," he smiles.
"Cas, can we talk?"
"Of course." Castiel pulls out the chair for Dean to sit, and the older Winchester does. "Dean, you know I always appreciate our talks and our time together."
This breaks Dean's heart more than you know.
"Listen, buddy. Um, you can't stay."
Castiel's shoulders drop, and he looks at Dean in confusion and hurt.

Since I wrote one for the Ericson Kids in kindergarten, I decided to write one with the Ericson Kids in their final classes. And I will shamelessly take quotes from my fellow classmembers from two years ago, because I got a whole book full of them.
(....they are not copyrighted, right?)
Anyway, let's get it started xD
PS: I apologize for my english in this by the way, it was quite hard to transalte this...
Mitch: "You can say what you want, but Mr. Craig is Caesar's reanimated corspe."
---
Ms. Martin: "You know what it's like, being burried alive?"
---
Ms. Elliot: "Well, I got a flu-vaccine yesterday and now I can't lift my left arm."
Louis: "Just stand in front of the mirror, then you'll think it's right and you can lift it again!"
---
Brody: "Fluffyness is the Alpha and Omega."
---
Ms. Martin: "Louis, the barn's on fire and the pigs are screaming."
---
Ms. Elliot, writes 'Art + X = Nature' on the board: Now, who's good at math and can explain this?"
Aasim: "X equals Nature minus Art."
Ms. Elliot: "...I never was good at math, no idea what X even means."
---
Louis: "Well, Marlon's at his entrance exam for the army."
Mr. Craig: "The army?! Oh no, we gotta stop him. Marlon's a guy who likes to take calm walks in the park!"
Mitch, snickering in the back: "Oh he's walking alright!"
---
In spanish
Ms. Elliot: "Sorry, but I can't call you 'chicas' since Mitch is here too."
Mitch: "Call me chupacabra, I don't understand a thing."
---
Louis: "Uhm, Mr. Craig, I was looking at the schedule and it says here, that we're watching a movie!"
---
Ms. Elliot: "Why are you so on edge today?"
Sophie: "My little brother just called. He wanted to know how to put a pizza in the oven."
---
Marlon: "Which brand of tractor did americans use at that time?"
Louis, whispering: "John Deere."
Mr. Craig: "That was John Deere."
Marlon, whispering: "How the fuck do you know that???"
---
Willy: "I thought the test was fair, but I still fucked it up."
Mr. Craig: "Well, you gotta keep the traditions, right?"
---
Group assignment, the kids are sitting in the cafeteria, Mr. Craig wants them to open the window real quick
Marlon: "Louis, put your hand down, don't open him or he can touch us!"
---
Violet: "What was Jesus?"
Ruby: "...jewish?"
Violet: "Yeah, but was he catholic or protestant?"
---
Louis: "Nowadays, people are discussing, if pictures of god-"
Ms. Elliot: "You could've written that it's of particular relevance."
Louis: "I wanted to keep it realistic."
---
15:40, Mitch is too late for class
Mitch: "Sorry, I overslept."
---
Mr. Craig: "And those were the disadvantages of the Great Depression."
Clementine: "But there has to be someone who profited from it?"
Violet: "Mother Courage and her Children."
---
Mr. Craig, in chemistry: "You know what to do if I catch fire, right?"
Willy: "Yeah, kick it out."
---
Marlon: "By the way, who parked their car so close to mine?"
Aasim: "That's what you get for parking like a drunkard."
Marlon: "I'd say the same, if I'd drive to school with a fucking kids scooter every day."
---
Louis: "I like movies that challenge me."
Marlon: "Dude, we watched Ice Age last time."
Louis: "Yeah, climate and stuff."
---
Mr. Wróbel: "Oh, and you'll have to calculate crooked curves."
Brody: "Are there straight curves, too???"
---
Ms. Martin: "And you didn't get infected? Did you have close contact with each other?"
Brody: "Yeah, pretty close."
Marlon: "Can't get much closer than that."
---
Brody: "Is the exam gonna be a lot to handle?"
Mr. Wróbel: "Nah, just about 3 grams."
---
Violet: "What do you guys need 500 facebook friends for anyway? Jesus only had 12 friends and even they had an asshole!"
---
Sophie: "What do I do if I can't do math?"
Clementine: "You sell your soul."
---
Minnie: "Are polar bears extinct?"
Louis: "I wanna look at this from a philosophical point of view. Knut the polar bear is dead, and with that, everything relevant of this species is already gone."
---
Mr. Craig: "The fitness increases with the length of their tailfeathers."
Marlon: "Just as it should be."
Mitch: *gives him a high five*
---
Ms. Elliot: "How do they get their colours then?"
Sophie: "Huh, I thought they were made by plants?"
Violet: "Soph, I don't think that moth goes somewhere to mix them first."
---
Marlon: "There's one time in your life, that you make cider yourself, and then you do all the work and it tastes like shit anyway."
---
Ruby: "Guys, can someone please explain what Tesla is?"
Clementine:
Violet:
Brody:
Marlon:
Louis:
Mitch:
Aasim: "...Wellll, about that..."
---
Mr. Wróbel: "In the final exams, you won't have the book and especially not your calculator."
Mitch: "So just the cheat sheets."
---
Omar: "We'll get you through this exam, if not, you'll just analyze a cucumber or something."
---
Willy: "We split up as much as we can and one day, we'll rule the world."
Ms. Martin: "Because that's what single-cell organisms do."
---
Louis, trying to help Marlon with his catwalk: "More hips! And faster! Your hips aren't cemented, my good man! More bad bitches vibes! The whole country under your high-heels!"
---
Violet: "Dalmatians are so weird."
Minnie: "Yeah, they're like zebras, but spotted."
---
Mitch: "How can an electric car drive without alcohol?"
---
Marlon: "Guys, guess what, daddy got new assignments for you from our sick granny Ms. Elliot!"
---
Tenn: "Do fish need to hold their breath under water?"
---
Mitch: "Fucking liar... it says Gucci, but it's just Walmart in there."
---
Marlon: "We got 2000 dollars left on our class account, what do we want to do with it?"
Mitch: "Drugs and bitches!"
---
Clementine: "Well, I gotta go!" *leaves through the window and runs on the rooftop*
---
Minnie: "Come on guys, let's just say we didn't know we had class today."
---
School trip to Weimar, Germany
Ms. Elliot: "Please, just be able to communicate tomorrow." *looking at Marlon, Mitch and Louis, who are already on their way to the first bar*
---
Clementine: "Pretty shitty hotel."
Marlon: "Gets better with every beer!"
---
at 1 pm, sitting in the bus with a beer
Mitch: "I'm so looking forward to that potato salad, it will be easy to puke in the evening."
---
Violet: "Well, there's gotta be fuckers in school and that's us."
---
while crossing a statue of Alexander Sergejewitsch Puschkin
Violet: "Isn't that the guy from the vodka?"
---
Mr. Craig: "The park is really nice, if you're interested."
Aasim, in the back: "Oh, go visit Goethe's cemetery, that thing is awesome!"
---
Mitch, throwing in wayyy too many chemicals: "A lot helps a lot."
---
Mr. Craig: "What colour does this have, Louis?"
Louis: "Seven."
---
Ms. Elliot: "I'm looking at so many 'What-the-fuck'-faces right now... n-not that you look ugly, you just look so confused!"
Marlon: "Good save, I was already clenching my second fist."
---
Clementine: "Are you gonna write that down so we can read it, or...?"
Mr. Craig: "When this piece of chalk bounces off you in a few seconds, I hope that it won't hit Ruby."
---
Mitch: "You're really twisting their words, man."
Louis: "Yeah, I'm good at that, I'm born to be a politician."
Clementine: "You got my vote already."
---
Brody: "If they put this in the final exam, I'm gonna hug Ms. Elliot."
Mitch: "And I'm gonna shoot her."
---
Brody: "Are we gonna have a group study day?"
Violet: "Please no, I'll get the scabies."
---
Mitch: "Oh Lord, just as you paved the way to Jerusalem for the people, so pave the way to the pub for me."
---
Mr. Wróbel: "Sophie, you really have a... creative writing style in math."
Sophie: "Yeah, I write it wrong."
Mr. Wróbel: "Exactly."
---
Ruby: "If that's possible, can we do a sleepover like we did in fifth grade again?"
Ms. Elliot: "Sure, why not. But no alcohol or drugs and no unprotected sex."
Marlon: "But protected is alright?"

Ruby sighed as she entered the now wrecked nightclub known as 'Juniors'.
The place looked like a warzone.
Food, drinks, and other furniture items were strewn everywhere.
Ruby was just happy no one died or got too injured.
"Hey, you're her sister, right?" An annoyed voice came from behind Ruby, who looked at the source to see a ticked off Melanie Malachite in an apron and broom.
"Yeah... sorry about all this. " Ruby apologized, and the Malachite twin just sighed before pointing to the kitchen.
"She is in their passed out on the floor, Juniors watching over her," She said and walked away but turned back to look at Ruby.
"She needs help, this outburst was really something else," and with that, Melanie went back to trying to get this place in decent condition.
Ruby said nothing as she made her way past the double doors and into the kitchen, and the sight before her saddned her.
There was Yang passed out surrounded by bottles of liquor, and her outfit ripped from all the fighting.
Her hair was amess, and she was laying near a pile of vomit.
"I haven't seen her this enraged since her freshman year at Beacon." Came the voice of Junior as he walked in with a glass of water and some pain relief.
"I'm sorry, sir, she is really been g-"
"I know, kid, I know... things haven't been great for her at all ever since well..." Junior said as he looked away as an uncomfortable silence fell between them.
Ruby's scroll rang.
It was Blake.
"Ruby, thank god, is Yang okay?" Blake looked like she was crying as all the puff
"She's fine... she was at Juniors bar...tore the place up badly, " Ruby said as Blake groaned.
"What happened between you two?" Ruby asked, and Blake just sniffled.
"We got into an argument...it got out of hand.. I said something stupid and cruel. " Blake sobbed Ruby rubbed the bridge of her nose.
"Please, Ruby, bring Yang back home so I can apologize to h-"
"That can't happen right now. She is drunk and in a bad state right now, I'll take her home to our dad for the time being," Ruby said much to Blake's dismay.
"C-can I at least come over and try to talk to her?" Blake asked, trying to make amends and fix the state that yang was in.
"I think it's best if you two don't talk for a bit... let things cool off for a minute .. just give it time" Ruby told her and Blake just moaned in agony.
"Ruby, I just... I just want her to know that I didn't mean any of it...please...please tell her I'm sorry. " Cried Blake and Ruby just sighed and smiled at her.
"I'll tell her"
And with that, she hung up the scroll before looking down at the sleeping form of her sister, who was clutching and holding it against her chest.
"You need help getting her into the vehicle?" Asked Junior, and Ruby nodded her head before calling their father.
"Hey, dad...Yang had a rough night... no, she's fine, but she is gonna need us, " and with that, she hung up the sc
Ruby looked down once more at Yangs sleeping form and could only feel sadness for her.
"You just haven't been the same since he died, haven't you?"
.
"You should have left me there," came Yang as she just looked out the window of the car.
"Your lucky Junior didn't call the police on you," Ruby told her too, to which Yang said nothing as she continued looking out the window.
"Listen, Yang, whatever Blake said, she already called me and wished to apologize... she said she never meant any of it, " Ruby told her, to which Yang still said nothing.
"How are you and Oscar doing?" Yang asked Ruby, who raised an eyebrow, still driving.
"Uh, fine, I guess...why?" Yang just shrugged.
"No reason"
"Oh okay..."
The journey to patch was done so in silence.
.
When they arrived at their family home, Tai, Summer, and Zwei were waiting for them.
Tai rushed to his daughter Yang with a quickness and enveloped her in a hug, which Yang returned as Summer hugged Ruby.
"Are you okay, Yang?" Asked Tai as he looked all over her, trying to find any bruises, cuts, and other signs of harm.
"I'm fine dad, I'm just...just really tired, Ya know? I-I just need a shower and some rest...can I have that?" Yang asked him and Tai just nodded as Yang left the hug before going to hug her mother Summer.
"Hi mom, how have you been?" She asked to which Summer smiled.
"Oh, I've been wonderful never a dull moment with your father here," She said, and Yang smiled warmly before looking too Ruby and nodding at her.
"Thank you, sis, for bringing me home...I love you," and with that, Yang walked inside as Ruby just looked on as her sister closed the main door.
"Come on in Ruby, I made cookies," said Summer as Ruby just still looked on at the door her sister passed through before feeling something rub against her leg.
"Arf! Arf!"
Ruby looked down at Zwei cute face, and Ruby bent down and picked him up before following her parents inside, but not before glancing off to the side of the house.
Where inside the broken bike of Yang's, Bumblebee, remained.
Ruby stared at it for a moment before turning her gaze back to the warmth of her parents' home.
(I see you over and over
Far beyond, I'm drifting away
Even inside a dream
This world has no meaning)

“Is this a short season? They’re going hard on the music” “I don’t know how I feel about Bobby being dead” “This dude has quite the face” “They did a great job with the sound design of the show” “One of her eyes is crooked. I wonder why” “If Bobby wasn’t dead yet, he is now, because the music tells me so” “Two weeks PBS - Post Bobby Singer” “To be fair, that would drive me nuts. If someone woke up in the hospital, wrote those numbers down, I’d go bonkers. Spend years trying to figure it out” “Why was there a noise if Dean drank the beer without noticing?” “How…what the fuck. That’s the creepiest thing” “What the fuck” “Is he just trying to get her out of the room or what?” “Bingo” “He’s going to leave her alone too. Jesus Christ” “Might want to leave a number that she can call if you die, too; otherwise, she’s fucked” 🎶ketchup and mustard🎶
“If he was going to shoot you, he would have already, Dean” “perty gun” “I’m with Dean on this one” “You cut your palm???? Why would you do that. Idiot” “Especially right there. That moves all the time”
“Talk about beige and tan” “What’s Buster Brown?” “Gotta love how Frank called Dean Buster Brown, and the first thing on wikipedia is a boy in a pink suit” “It could be a lot of different places with those coordinates. You don’t know longitude and latitude. I guess you could narrow it down to who owns the land like they just did” “This fkn lighting is immaculate” “That’s horrific?” “Is it the silver or the twist that kills them? Is the twist necessary?” “Well that’s not good” “That’s how you got caught I guess” “He slept in a chair for 36 hours?” “I feel like they forced the Sarah Palin joke” “Why does this guy have so many extension cords? I don’t understand” “So Sam gqve the girl Dean’s number. So he did do the right thing” “Twice? Oh.” “Straight to the closet” “How many guns has Dean had pointed at him this episode? Two?” “Don’t bother filling in the rest of the story” “I don’t understand” “He enjoyed that way too much” “She could have made a good addition to the show” “She’s like a miniature Ruby, ya know? Like a kid version of Ruby. She’s got the same vocal delivery” “Wasn’t expecting that” “Dean just stood there the whole time. What the fuck” “They were driving around silent until now. And whatever time at night it is and it’s “good for them” Jesus Christ” “Just kick him in the dick”

demon blood mpreg!sam
[posting this snippet because it’s going to be awhile before it’s finished and i’m impatient; CW for contemplation of abortion, abortion protestors, demon blood sam, mild gore, samruby; this is wincest as a whole]
_
“That’s it, baby,” Ruby croons as he drinks from a cut on her breast, her hand cradling his head to her, and he nearly chokes.
‘Baby’ she calls him. The way Dean had. The way Jess had.
‘Baby’ she says, as he suckles blood from her breast, and Sam feels a lurch in his gut as things shift into stark reality.
_
He can’t see it on his tummy yet, but he swears he can feel it inside him. He wishes he could make himself abort it. It’s not too late. He wonders if that would be the right choice; if he’s being selfish keeping it; keeping the last bit of Dean growing inside of him. It’ll be a child of incest. A child of hunters – one of whom is in Hell, and the other on the road there. What kind of life is he bringing it into?
He imagines Dean yelling at him for even thinking of aborting this pregnancy. He imagines Dean yelling at him for being sentimental to the point of absurdity – ‘You really need a kid to remember me by? What about the mission?’
He imagines the things Dean would say about the demon blood…
Sam licks his bloody lips, acidic with bile; tucks back his hair and wonders what to do.
_
His demon blood strike lasts all of nine days, with Ruby plying him at every opportunity about how he’ll never save Dean at this rate, and wouldn’t he feel better if he just had a little; hasn’t he been throwing up more since he stopped? Doesn’t he want to be strong enough to protect himself and the baby? To kill Lilith? To save Dean from Hell? Is he just expecting her to do all the work? Is he giving up now?
_
“You will burn in Hell, baby killer!” The protestors outside the clinic shout at him as he wades through them, alone.
Their shouts copy the signs they’re brandishing, and despite his height he has to put his arms up to keep them from hitting his head, heaving a sigh of relief when he finally gets inside and gets the doors safely closed. He has an appointment, because it was the only way to make himself accountable, and sits down to wait after he’s checked in.
“They’re right, you know,” Ruby whispers in his ear, suddenly leaning down in front of him, uncomfortably close. He flinches back from the unexpected perfume of sulfur.
“What’re you talking about?” He’s going for disinterested annoyance, rubbing at his ear, but it’s more like flustered insecurity. He thinks he sounds like a child; and as she smiles patiently down at him and tucks his hair behind his ears to cup his face, he feels like one, too.
“About abortion,” Ruby answers, thumb rubbing his cheek. “You will burn in hell. I mean, that’s why I went. I was performing them, after all.”
She pats his cheek then shrugs, grabs a magazine from the wall rack, and flounces into the seat next to him, leaning her shoulder against his arm. Sam sits, frozen, heart racing. He knows she can hear how his breathing turns to quick, low gasps – not quite hyperventilating – but she’s perfectly nonchalant as she reads her outdated Cosmo, jostling him lightly with every turn of a page.
‘Demons lie,’ he hears Dean say in his head, repeating like a mantra with the loud pulse in his temples.
He leaves the clinic with an ultrasound and prenatal vitamins. It doesn’t look like anything yet except maybe a very tiny bean, but Sam can’t stop thinking of it as ‘our baby’ as he stares tearily down at the grainy image. Ruby drives him back to the motel, arm across the back of his seat, and Sam doesn’t even think to protest.
_
She starts rubbing his baby bump after he drinks from her – like she put it in there – and he wants to cry when it soothes his mild nausea.
He misses Dean, so much it physically hurts, but Ruby doesn’t like to let him feel Dean’s absence long. She keeps him on the path to Lilith and his brother by stepping into Dean’s place whenever Sam needs guidance or caretaking. She smells increasingly of leather and cigarettes; the leather is too new, but the cigarettes are Dean’s. He could almost forget she was a demon, until he tastes the familiar bite of sulfur in her blood.
But then she cradles him inside; as brutal as he needs in his bursts of grief-fueled hunger, she can take it, just like Dean could.
She can take more.
But when her hands spread over his belly and she smiles down at it, says ‘baby’ – the taste of her blood sharp on his tongue – Sam thinks he might swoon with how suddenly he needs her off of him.
_
The sooner he masters his powers, the sooner he’ll have Dean back. It becomes a mantra he hears with every measured breath, bouncing between his temples with the inescapable rush of his pulse as he reaches for a demon’s corrupted soul and pulls. But every time he thinks he’s getting close – that he’ll save someone this time – he loses his grasp. He’s just not powerful enough, no matter how much Ruby convinces him to drink; no matter how much he practices.
Tears mix with the blood streaming down his mouth and neck as Ruby coaxes him to drink from another failed rescue, shushing him and petting his hair and telling him it’s going to be okay – he’s going to get this.
And when he’s drained the first demon of blood, and she summons a second, he finally does get it – in a manner of speaking. Sam pulls, and the demon vomits black smoke onto the demon trap, along with its host’s visceral organs, until the body stops moving.
_
Dean shows up five days into Sam’s second demon blood strike, as he’s trying unsuccessfully to get Ruby to leave his motel room. The sweats have already set in, faster than the last time, but he forgets about the creeping cravings when he sees his brother’s face outside his door. And when Dean’s sudden appearance makes Ruby leave without incident, it’s like it could wash the slate clean.
Sam doesn’t even think about his condition when he wraps himself around Dean, until Dean goes very still in his arms. When Dean inhales, Sam wonders if he can smell the sulfur of demon blood in his sweat, the way Sam can smell the remnants of the grave on Dean. But then Dean asks Bobby to leave, and doesn’t waste a second after the door closes to lift up Sam’s shirt and see the bump that’s finally visible.
When Dean’s hand slides over the taut skin, warm and possessive, Sam wants to cry in relief.
Instead, his tears fall when Dean asks, “Oh, Sammy, what did you do?”
_
It’s not that Dean doesn’t believe it’s his, or that he found Sam shacked up with some ‘nameless bimbo. I know how it is, Sammy–’ It’s not even that Sam decided to keep the pregnancy…
But Sam doesn’t know how to prove that he hasn’t made a deal to get Dean out. Especially when he’s pregnant and clearly still hunting, and hasn’t contacted Bobby since he buried Dean instead of burning him. And there's no way he’s telling Dean about Ruby and the demon blood.
Their argument is put on hold, though, when Sam can no longer control how much he’s shaking and sweating, breathing suddenly harsh as his stomach cramps with nausea and cravings.
It’s like Sam can see some kind of veil fall from Dean’s gaze as he reaches to touch Sam’s clammy face, and the Big Brother Dean that Sam has missed so pathetically finally makes his appearance. Dean pulls him over to the bed, and Sam’s skin prickles in guilty pleasure; having Dean dote on him without knowing why Sam is so sick.
