A/N: A break from the regularly scheduled updates for a holiday episode! Takes place in the same universe but out of the story order.

Charlotte hung another ornament on the tree, a smile on her face as the Christmas music played in the background and Marc stood to the side a smile on his face as well. He’d never really celebrated Christmas, he was raised Jewish after all, the menorah still sitting in the living room window a reminder of the holiday just past, but Charlotte celebrated Christmas, and he loved Charlotte. That was what mattered. Charlotte looked over at him, the twinkling of the lights in her eyes.

“Are you going to make me do this all by myself Spector?” She teased as she walks over to the box of ornaments, picking out the next one she wanted to put up.

“I mean I could help. But you look so good doing it baby.” He chuckles and she gives him a side eye with a smirk on her face.

“I look good doing a lot of things, Mostly things you don’t want to help with, Making dinner, doing the dishes, decorating for the holidays…Riding your…”

“Hey now.” They both start laughing. Marc walks over and looks at the ornaments in the box. Some people buy matching sets of color coordinated glass balls, but not Charlotte, she had a collection of adorable animals, made in silver and gold. She had explained that they were made by a family member decades ago. They we’re brought over from Ireland when the family moved here, and they were her favorite part about Christmas. He picked up a beautifully sculpted sliver bird, he thinks it’s a swallow? What does he know about birds? Other than one annoying Lunar God. Marc smiles as he hangs the little bird on a branch. “See I can help.” She rolls her eyes with a smile on her face.

“Right, very helpful Marc, thank you for hanging up a single ornament.” She sarcastically chirps at him as she hangs a Golden Fox with its tail wrapped around it. Marc chuckles before going to grab another ornament.

Eventually the tree is covered, the only thing left was the topper. Marc expected a story of the topper, how it had been in the family for years or she got it the first year she and Elizabeth were together, something sweet and ever so heartwarming. But Charlotte didn’t pull anything out of the boxes of decorations that he had fetched from the attic, she went to a cardboard box that had been delivered this morning. He cocks her eye brow as she pulls out a Golden Crescent moon topper.

“Don’t you usually top a tree with a star?” He asks as she shows him the item, he had to admit it was quite beautiful.

“Yes, but…I thought this was more…Us. It’s time to start new traditions…” She gives him that signature half smile. After everything that had happened these last few months, it was nice to see. Charlotte hands him the Moon Topper and he looked at her adoringly.

“New Traditions.” He nods. He puts the topper on the top of the tree that was taking up a good portion of their living room, standing on tip toe to get it there. As he took a step back to look at his handy work he feels her arm wrap around him. He looks down at her as she places a hand on his chest and rests her head on his shoulder.

“Perfect…” She says softly

“Like you.” Marc remarks as he wraps his arm around her pulling her in close so he can nuzzle his face into her ginger locks, kissing the top of her head as she hums softly to the music playing. Just enjoying the others presence as snow falls over the city of Chicago.
