Ruby:When they told this volume would have a focus on Ruby’s crumbling emotional state I was excited. I barely get to play with negative emotions often so I was ready! However, I was not prepared for Jaune to have to grow out his hair.

Second best option was growing out my hair and hitting the gym.

Adam:We basically shot all of his scenes when he was young at once so long ago at this point. Then during vacation and all that in between volumes this man was obligated to not cut his hair as much as possible. My sister, Coco, did practical makeup to add age as well.

Jaune:Never again.

Interviewer:Fans like the look!

(Alright, because of a plan I have for this, this will be a multiparter with the way I write.)

Ruby paused for a moment, still not believing what she had heard. “I-I thought you said that scope was free.”

“And it is,” Emerald said with a smirk. “Yours for the taking, no cash necessary, just you doing me a favor.”

“Yeah but-”

“Then I guess you dont want it, do you?”

“I do!” Ruby’s eyes darted to the scope in Emerald’s hand, her heart thumping in her chest at the thought of losing a scope that would let her see heat signatures, making it easier to see her team in areas with dense brush. But what Emerald was asking her to do… “And… how would you know that I’ve done it?”

Emerald put the scope back into her pack and pulled out a tube of green lipstick. “I’ll see them when they’re marked.”

“And if they wash the lipstick off?”

“Dont worry about that. All you have to worry about is making sure to go through this list and give each one of them a kiss.”

Ruby slowly took the list and lipstick from Emerald, slowly reading over the names. Weiss. Pyrrha. Nora. Coco. Velvet. Cinder. A short list of names, but not easy people to just walk up to and ask for a kiss. “And… if I’m unable to kiss them?”

“A dare is a dare. If you cant fulfill it, then can you say that you completed it?”

“I… no…”

“Then be a good girl and make due on your dare.”

Ruby slowly nodded and looked over the list again, trying to figure out the best way to get a kiss from each person. Pyrrha and Nora would be the easiest, both were pretty nice and if she were to explain what its for, she was sure they’d be okay with it. Weiss… was harder to gauge on how she’d feel about it. While she was getting closer to the heiress, there was still that fear about her laughing at the idea that she was dared to kiss anyone. Coco, Velvet, and Cinder on the other hand… any attempt on getting close to them was bound to be ripe with ridicule, or even just being pushed away. Velvet could be convinced, Coco, not so much. And Cinder… even the thought of getting close to her sent chills down her spine.

Though, the more she looked at the list, the more she was disappointed that Blake wasnt on it. Her heart started to flutter at the thought of trying to get a kiss from her, her legs going weak as she stood up on her tiptoes, lost in a daydream about getting that close to Blake. For a moment, she felt she could do anything, until she was brought crashing back to reality by Weiss’s voice.

“Ruby, what are you doing?” Weiss asked.

Ruby quickly smiled at Weiss and rubbed the back of her head, holding the lipstick and list behind her back. “I-I was looking for you!”

Weiss rolled her eyes and started to walk, grabbing hold of Ruby’s arm and dragging her along. “We’re going to be late to class if you dont hurry.”

“Lunch just finished, so we have a little time.” Ruby pulled her arm out of Weiss’s grip and paused for a moment as she thought about the list. “A-actually, Weiss… I… I have something I need to talk to you about.”

“Alright, what is it?”

“Have… have you ever had a first kiss?” Ruby asked. She took a step back as she watched Weiss turn around with a look that almost said “Run if you want to live,” though it was clear that Weiss meant anything except that with how she held her arm close to her chest.

“I have. Why? Is there someone that’s caught your eye?”

“Well… sorta… but I…” Ruby took a breath and stepped closer to Weiss. “I… I was hoping you could help me.”

“Help you… with a first kiss?”

Ruby nodded and looked away. “I”m not entirely sure I know what I’m doing and… well… since you know and this isnt exactly something I can just ask Yang about-”

“You need help with making sure you dont mess anything up, right?”

“Yeah.”

Weiss rolled her eyes and let out a sigh. “I can teach you after class.”

“Really-”

“On one condition. You do not tell anyone that I helped you.”

Ruby smiled and nodded., pinching her thumb and pointer finger together and dragging them across her lips. “My lips will be sealed about it.”

“Good, now lets get to class.”

Ruby smiled and followed after Weiss, a blush starting to creep across her cheeks at the mere thought of doing anything like this. She slowed her steps as she caught a glimpse of Pyrrha out of the corner of her eye, her heart skipping a beat. She shook her head and continued forward, following Weiss to class.

“Quit moving and just sit still,” Weiss said as sat down on her bed. “You’re acting way too eager for this.”

Ruby stopped her bouncing leg and pulled out the green lipstick from her pack. “S-sorry, I’m just… nervous.”

“And the lipstick?”

“Just something I want to try.”

“And you’re sure you want to use green?”

Ruby paused for a moment as she looked over the green lipstick, her fingers starting to tremble a bit. Of course she couldnt say it was a dare, not after Weiss agreed to let her do a practice kiss. “I-I’m just trying a different color for a change. I have plenty of black and red lipstick already, I figured a light green might be a different change of pace.”

Weiss sighed. “Alright, put it on and I’ll teach you how to kiss someone.”

Ruby smiled a bit and quickly applied the lipstick, making sure to use her pocket mirror to make sure she didnt apply it wrong. She hated how the green looked on her lips, but she wasnt one to back down because of a dare, especially for an upgrade for Crescent Rose. Once she was finished, she gave a small smile to Weiss and leaned forward a bit. “Okay, so… I just… pucker up and go for it, right?”

“Yes, but there is a bit more to it.” Weiss put a hand on top of Ruby’s and leaned in slowly. “You need to go slow, make the moment last. That lucky guy needs to know that this is going to be the best he’s going to get until you’re comfortable with him.”

Ruby blushed when she felt Weiss put a hand against her cheek, her breath caught in her throat as she followed Weiss’s motions, slowly moving forward and puckering up to meet her lips. Once they touched, she felt a shock, and then a rush of heat run down her spine as her aura flickered for a brief moment. She pulled back from the kiss, feeling lightheaded for a moment before the feeling seemed to pass.

“Are you okay?” Weiss asked as she pulled her hand from Ruby’s cheek. “You seem a bit pale.”

“I’m fine.” Ruby answered as she put up a smile. “Thank you for the lesson Weiss.”

“Now, who’s the guy you like? I promise I wont tell Yang anything.”

“There isnt… exactly… a guy…” Ruby answered back shyly. “I-its complicated. But… thank you for this. I know it probably wasnt easy for you.”

“Just as long as you dont go telling anyone that you kissed me, I’ll be fine.” Weiss pulled out her scroll and sighed. “Though, I have to admit, it was nice to kiss someone who wasnt after me for my name.”

“Dont worry, I wont tell anyone.”

After the pre-recording, Jungkook goes live while still at SBS (this is before Tae joined him on stage, and before his encore performance). Jungkook reads out the question, “Where is Taehyungie Hyung?” He then says he doesn’t know while glancing to his left, which made me wonder if Tae was close by and he instinctively looked his way. Anyway, this is some swift karma against people who ran with this comment because we see soon after this live that Jk absolutely knew where Tae was (because, being realistic, there’s no way Tae is going through the gates and to Jk’s dressing room without Jk knowing he’s there). I think people fail to realize that members do have to omit things, bend the truth a little or lie at times, for their safety, protection and privacy. As Jk says later in this live, he’s a public figure and singer. I think people forget that, or somehow conveniently forget his character (his kind nature, how he takes time to talk to us when he doesn’t have to). Please remember there IS a line between his celebrity and what he can share. Tae surprised him on stage, so Jk more than likely (in my opinion) said he didn’t know where Tae was to protect and respect their privacy at the time, since he didn’t know Tae would soon join him on the stage. This further goes to show we only know so much, because if Tae hadn’t joined Jk on stage, we’d have never known he was there.

With a sigh, and in a low voice, Jk states, “He’s really handsome.”

He praises his looks a second time, still in a soft, whisper-like voice. I do want to note this because he does repeatedly mention Jin’s good looks right after, but just like when he read the question about him and “Taehyungie Hyung” living together in a softer register, then read the question about if he likes math in a normal voice, it’s the same with this. I find it sweet how gentle his tone was in this live when he was talking about “Taehyungie Hyung.”

Ok, so bear with me here because I’m not the best and requesting, but I was wondering if you could write something soft and fluffly with Tommy Shelby? Don’t get me wrong, I live for your dark and creepy Tommy fics, but the softness that you showcased in your story Loving You absolutely killed me (in the best way possible) and I’m dying for some more of that.

Alright so here goes the request.....I’m sorry if it’s kind of vague, but could you do something where maybe they’re snowed in (either in Small Heath or at Arrow House - you choose) and even though Tommy needs to get to work, he can’t, so his partner coaxes him into spending a lazy day with her. I’m not picky on the particulars of their relationship, or if they have kids or not...I’ll let you decide with that. It’s extremely hot where I’m from at the moment and I’d just love some winter day vibes haha

You shivered and wrapped the blanket tightly around yourself as you wandered through the halls of Arrow House. You paused as you passed by the window and looked out at the wintery scene before you. The wind carried soft flakes of snow, added to the increasing piles around the house. The drive had previously been cleared, dark grey snow piled against the side of the drive ruining the otherwise crisp white blanket, but already that was being covered. You knew by this evening you’d be snowed in again.

You smiled as you could faintly see the snowman hat Charlie had built earlier that day. He had been so excited for the snow, although that excitement didn’t last long. He had come running back in, shivering from the cold and insisting on a coco. With Charlie suitably warmed up and taking a nap, you decided to try and find Tommy. You had a sneaking suspicion on where he was.

Tommy didn’t look up when you entered his study. His coat was hung up and was steadily dripping on the wooden floor. That, and the scratch of Tommy’s pen, were the only sounds in the room. As you walked closer to his desk Tommy stopped writing for a second before his attention was diverted back to his paperwork. You pouted as you walked behind his desk and wrapped your arms around him, pressing your chest against his back.

“Fuck,” you said, “You’re freezing.”

“Just got back.”

“You shouldn’t go out in this weather,” you said, “What if you had an accident?”

“I’m careful.”

You sighed and rested your chin on top of his head, grimacing at his cold, wet hair.

“I doubt it,” you said, “You’re soaked. What would happen if you catch a cold?”

“I won’t.”

“You’d be stuck in bed,” you continued, ignoring what he said, “And I wouldn’t allow you to do any work until you got better.”

“And would be there with me?”

“Why? Want me to nurse you back to health?”

“If you’re offering. If you do maybe I need to go back to London.”

“Then I shan’t,” you said, unwrapping your arms from around him, “I shall leave you to suffer!”

You pulled the blanket back around you and stepped away. Tommy quickly grabbed your wrist and pulled you back towards him. You let out a yelp as you fell into his lap and Tommy secured his arms around you.

“What are you- AHH!”

You cried out as Tommy pressed his cheek against the side of your neck. Fuck, he really was freezing. You squirmed in his lap and you felt him smile against your skin at you reaction.

“Careful, love,” he said quietly, “I still have work to do.”

He playful nipped at your neck before turning his attention back to the paperwork on his desk. You sighed as you rested your head on his chest, listening to the steady thump of his heartbeat. You closed your eyes, feeling at peace, before muttering quietly,

“You should stop that. Take today off and relax. We’re going to be snowed in again.”

“Hmm?”

“It’s getting heavier out there,” you said, “The snow that is. It’s going to be impossible to get out tomorrow.”

“That’s tomorrow’s issue,” said Tommy, “This is important.”

“More important than me?”

“Of course not.” Tommy said quickly

“Good.”

You opened your eyes and picked up a sheet of paper. Tommy sighed and leant back in his chair, taking you with him. You wrinkled your nose at the work before putting it back on his desk. You reached over and plucked the pen out of Tommy’s hand before taking it between your own.

“How can you work while being so cold?�� you asked

You glanced up at Tommy who was looking down at you. He raised an eyebrow at you before smirking and leaning closer to say,

“If you’ve got any ideas on how to warm me up, I’m all ears.”

You gasped as he stuck his free hand up the back of your shirt and pressed it against your back. When you tried to escape his grip tightened on you and locked you firmly against him.

“And what exactly did you have in mind, love?” asked Tommy, his lips grazing against the shell of your ear,

You could feel yourself heating up as you tried not to squirm anymore in Tommy’s lap. How could he derail your plan so effectively?

“I was thinking,” you said, “You and me, curled up in front of the fire. Forget about this,” you waved a hand at the desk, “For the meantime. Just relax.”

“I need to complete this.”

“A day or two won’t hurt.”

“You’re being very tempting.”

“I know.”

“And what else does this plan of your involve?”

“I don’t know Mr Shelby,” you said, “It’s depends on what you prefer to do- your paperwork or me.”

omg yes shhh i’ve only watched episode 1 of season 3 so far oopsies. i have so little time for mando AGH i wish i had more >:( but i also neglected sm homework last week oops so my own fault really

no because if JOEL was awake? and he watched that happen? i genuinely don’t know what he’d do. there’s two options, one of which we heard of after sarah died, and the other being he goes mad for revenge. (let’s pretend abby didn’t use like. a fucking shotgun on his leg and it was recoverable, shhhhh)

TOMMY. he’d be so torn. i don’t know what he’d do either!!! they would just be so fucking despondent. like what is even the point if r is gone? what are they meant to do now? and if he had to watch? if he watched, and wasn’t able to do anything? can you imagine the pain he’d be in after locking eyes with r, wondering if r would ever forgive him for this? tommy would absolutely blame himself. would blame himself for letting reader on patrols at all, for helping abby, for trusting this group that they didn’t know, for doing nothing when reader needed him to do something, anything, the most

you saw how tommy reacted in part 2 when abby threatened ellie, how he fucking yelled and screamed at ellie to leave. can you imagine how much he would yell and scream at abby to just leave reader alone, to just stop, please, don’t do this to her, she didn’t do anything

can you imagine how tommy would react if he found out why abby did it? how joel would react? how ellie would react?

lets think about this for a minute actually, because ellie would NEVER forgive joel. she wouldn’t. because she already hated him for what he did at the hospital, she was just barely coming to forgive him for it, and now not only did he take that away from her, but his actions also led to reader being killed. joel would never ever forgive himself, but neither would ellie.

hell, if joel went to seattle for revenge, i don’t think he’d be coming back no matter the outcome. it has to be said. what does he have left, anyway?

my dear, sweet maria. she would be so torn after her initial denial, because god does she want to avenge reader, she wants to tear them all apart for what they did to her, but then there’s this baby who needs her. tommy would be long gone, by then, anyway. she couldn’t orphan her child. but what about you?

your dialogue for maria’s reaction is so so accurate too, and you can really see tommy just looking at her, saying her name, because there’s nothing else he can say.

and when tommy and maria’s son grows up, and he’s wondering why his dad left, and he doesn’t understand because he can’t remember reader. he doesn’t remember her looking after him, only has the names on the chalkboard that’s still set up on the mantle of the home he shares with his mother only. because maria wouldn’t welcome tommy back after he left. couldn’t. a part of her resents him for not saving r too, although she’d never say it out loud.

i wanna talk about jesse more but this is already long i’m sorry HAHAH so i will move on to my favourite thing. SONGS!!!

as the world caves in — i’m an awful person for immediately thinking about how joel’s world litch rally caved in (via the golf club to r’s head…) OK BUT FOR REAL NOW. i love this song. it hurts so bad. for all of them, the world had already ended. they’re living in post apocalyptic times for gods sake. but this… this is worse. this is their actual world falling apart before their very eyes.

Soulfire Purgatory Day 8

For this day there was no true wins, it was between green and blue, whichever team lost would be eliminated

-Bad and Tubbo logged on together. Tubbo was very adamant about making a tie with green team, Bad was not as keen but willing to see where the day took them, they agreed on gathering supplies incase a fight was needed

-they got stacked up on gear and got a message saying they could learn some info about the eggs in the nether

-its a parkour course, they make it through and are shown a video of the eggs in the moments before they left?

-Pierre joins and wants to win, (still no green have logged on) He has no sympathy for green because they did not honor there promise to not harm the egg statues and Tubbo and him go back and forth

-Very begrudgingly Pierre holds off on turning in quests but far from done discussing this with Tubbo. Pierre goes to the nether to see the egg video

-Bad removes some ice from around their base and trys again to see if he can find reds base. He finds nothing but does some mining. Coco meets him there under ground

-Bad then goes to see if he can find Greens base. At the same moment Pierre and Trousers also meets up with him at ice surrounding greens Island, they both know what this means

-they pinpointed the center of the ice and dug down finding greens base

-green still hasnt logged on

-Bad and Pierre (pierre less so) do some respectful looting

-it is here that pierre decides to hand in some of his quests. Tubbo had been absent from the call for an hour or so and im not sure but i think he was talking with bolas. -Tubbo meets up at greens base and they have a discussion again still not agreeing with each others wants about what is best

-Pierre and Bad leave to thoroughly clean up around blues base, and Tubbo leaves call again with them, Bad determines that reds base must be inland since there is no ice in there area

-Forever logs and Bad goes over to speak to him he logs of before he gets there but then Etoiles logs on tubbo, bad, and Aypierre speak to him at greens base. Etoiles logs off.

-Roier and Elquackity seemed to be talking with Tubbo and tubbo wanted to tie it so he grabbed resources pierre had gathered to give to them so they could tie the score

-Pierre and Bad feel likes somethings up with tubbo and go to center to find out after discovering materials from there quest chest was gone

-confusion breaks out at center, bad and pierre chase elquackity, roier and have a confused argument with Tubbo

-Bad is very confused by the events and what greens teams actions might be and decides to let Dappers message guide him ‘Dapper said to win’ he submits his tasks

-Bolas then enters the mix but its at the last second so all are kicked for the day. Blue team wins

In honor of Father's Day I wrote a little toddler dad Eddie blurb. Hope you like it! Sorry it’s a few days late!

Daddy’s Girl

Eddie:

You had been waiting for this moment all day. You pull into the parking lot of Sunny Smiles Childcare and pre-school to pick up the sweetest, cutest child in the world, your daughter Coco. She was the light of your life. You loved your wife but it was different, this was your baby girl, your flesh and blood. You didn't know it was possible to love anything as much as you loved her.

You were scared as hell the day that your then fiancée told you she was pregnant, that things were happening a little sooner than expected, but you were happy.

The thought that you would soon be responsible for another living being, one that would rely on you for everything blew your mind. Were you really ready for this? Would you be a good dad? Would you know what to do? One thing was certain- you would love this little Munson with everything you had, you would be the father that you never had. This child would know how much you loved them, and how important they were to you.

You read every ' What to expect' book that they had, went to every Doctor appointment and cried the first time you heard the baby's heartbeat. You would sing and talk to the baby bump , put your headphones on her belly and play your music. You would get so excited when the baby would kick.

" See? The baby already knows their Daddy's voice. You know I love you, don't ya my little baby bean? You've got great taste in music too. "

You went to birthing classes, you were the only long haired, Metalhead dad in the class, and were as attentive and caring and supportive as you could be to the mom to be. You loved her with all your heart.

When the big day came you tried to be calm and collected, your partner needed you. You would wipe her head with a cool cloth and offer words of encouragement.

" You are so amazing Sweetheart, you are so strong. Is there anything I can do Princess,to make you more comfortable? Need a back rub baby? We are going to get through this, your doing so good baby, just one more push. "

You wept tears of joy as you held your your perfect little baby girl. You marveled at her head full of dark brown hair, her tiny little fingers and toes. Coco Brinley Munson- she was beautiful. She was part of you.

You were very hands on, not shying away from any fatherly task- feeding, changing, bathing , you weren't afraid to help out in any way , after all, this was your baby too.

It amazed you, the changes a baby goes through the first year- they go from just lying there, not doing anything to smiling and laughing, growing teeth and eating real food, playing peek a boo and crawling and walking. The first time you heard your little Coco Bean say 'Dada' you lost your shit, then you felt stupid because surely it was just her babbling away. When she looked at you and said' Dada!' again you knew it was the real deal.

" Holy shit Babe, did you hear it? She really fucking said it! She said Dada! Her first word was Dada!" You picked Coco up and hugged her and she giggled in your arms.

" Rub it in why don't ya Ed's. Well if you don't watch your mouth, Dada, her second word is going to be Shit or Fuck." Your fiancée laughed.

" Oh shit- I mean shoot! Your right."

You followed her around and baby proofed the whole goddamn house when she started walking, safety latches on all the cupboard doors and covers on the outlets . Nothing was going to happen to this kid on your watch.

You loved nap time and bedtime, you would read Coco books and tell her stories using different voices for each one of the characters and she would look up at you in wonderment with big , chocolate button eyes. You could tell when she was just about to fall asleep because she would twirl her curly dark hair around her finger and the slow blinking would start until she was out.

She was a smart girl, walking and talking full sentences earlier than usual, you figured it was a) she was a genius, of course, b) because you guys spent so much time reading and playing and though she didn't have a lot of interaction with kids her own age , she was social, your friends and the members of the Hellfire club would come over and they would all take turns playing with her. They were all so gentle and careful with her. She was a Hellfire member in training and would sit on you knee as the campaigns would play out and she seemed to be entranced by it all.

She was three now and it felt like it happened overnight, and as much as you wanted to keep her home it was time for her to be with children her own age, and Mama was ready to go back to work,so Sunny Smiles it was. Your friend Robin had worked there during summers when she was on break from college and she said that Coco would be well taken care of there.

That morning you both dropped her off and gave her hugs and kisses and walked her to the toddler room. She looked on in amazement at the toys and books and other children playing. After a few tears she went off to a little kitchenette in the corner of the room with another little girl and started to play. You tried to sneak out but she caught you and ran to give you one last hug.

" Have fun my little Monster." You squeezed her and kissed the top of her head.

She smiled up at you and put two fingers behind her head and stuck out her tongue. " Daddy do the Munson Monster face too!"

You did and she giggled then ran off to play again.

Now it was finally time to see your sweet girl and see how her day went.

You walk in the door and go down the hallway to her classroom, carefully peeking in. You see her sitting on a bench, with her rain boots and jacket on and her favorite stuffed animal, 'Tired Teddy' , the bear that she would not nap or lay down without, cradled in her arms. She didn't see you until you were halfway across the room.

" Daddy! Daddy!" She smiled and ran across the room , Teddy in tow.

You squatted down arms open wide and scooped her up and she giggled as you spun her around. " How was my Coco Beans first day? Did you have fun? I bet you made a lot of friends!"

She nodded and buried her head in your chest, playing with your hair. "Missed you Daddy."

" I missed you too bean, but I knew that you were here having a fun time so that made me feel better. " You kiss the top of her head. " Couldn't wait to see my girl! How come you have your coat and boots on?"

" I was readyta go home."

" Ready to go see Mama?"

" Uh huh." She looked tired, she must have played hard today.

" Alright my little Princess, let's go get your backpack and head home." You grabbed her things from her cubby, had a little chat with her daycare provider, who said that she was a sweet little girl , a little shy today but she made some friends and really enjoyed story time. I thanked her for the update then took Coco out to the car and buckled her into her car seat.

" Daddy?"

" Yes babygirl?"

" Play my song? "

" The ants go marching song or the puppet song?"

" Puppet, pleeese!"

" You got it beaner." I smiled to myself and popped a tape into the cassette player in the car. Master of Puppets started playing and I heard her say. "Yes!"

I pulled out of daycare and started home, checking my rear view mirror often and watching her bob her head to the beat. So fucking adorable and she had great taste in music.

" Master! Master!" She sang while pointing her fingers in the air.

I laughed." You sing it my little Metal Princess!! You make daddy so proud!"

Coco beamed, dimples on full display. "Just like daddy!"

" That's right,Sweetness, just like Daddy.”

omg omg omg i'm gonna geek out about writing quickly but the time skip redo is actually really cool??? like mochi feels like the glue keeping them all together is so it makes sense that they kinda scatter but still stay in touch kinda after she leaves,,,, also the idea of getting the gang back together one by one just feels kinda nice like its the ✨found family✨ vibes that the guild radiates that just has me🤧🤧🤧🤧 LOVE THEM SO MUCH

YES AAAH IM GLAD YOU THINK SO!!!!!!!!! i feel like this version is better exactly for that reason and also its a better driver for the growth lime goes through when mochi isnt there!!!

PLUS it also aligns better with what (in my head) seems to be normal around "grown" witches, which is that after that period of time where a witch is learning and coming into her own, she no longer has need for a guild and it effectively breaks up (which is why tiramisus guild as well as other older witches dont have their full guild with them. maybe 1 or 2 members stuck around because theyre friends but otherwise most witches guilds dissolve after said witch is done training and her power is in full)

the only thing that makes me sad about it is that i wish lime and the others were close enough friends to stay together as a guild after mochi leaves, like their friendship with each other isnt SOLELY dependent on her, but since there only 5 of them (and taffy is new), once mochi left, lime was the only other person who was capable enough to lead the guild. and since he took such an emotional blow i dont think he had it in him to essentially babysit the other 3. so with 2/5 members (and essentially the core of the guild) out of action, it makes sense that neither coco or oscar could ever "lead" the guild the way lime potentially could have (and taffy feels like he has no right to even try to fill that role). that being said, i do like the idea of them hanging out every so often to do side quests!!!!!

(essentially i think of this period as lime shifts into the "main character" role and it turns into a genshin style of adventure for him-- where he just travels around (lowkey searching for mochi) but mostly training, doing side quest/side quest chains, becoming stronger, and every so often he runs into a quest that requires you to bring along/interact with other major characters like coco, oscar, taffy, the merchant, other witches mochis met during her journeys, etc, but afterwards goes back to a solo journey. as a consequence once the guild gets back together it turns out lime has a bunch of connections in a bunch of different places)

and also!!! i maybe have mentioned this, but in my heart it feels unfair to have them all just.,.....waiting around for her. like obviously we all know she comes back to them, but from their POV shes essentially gone forever with no end date, and having them accept the mindset of potentially waiting around forever feels like a shitty thing to do, so im going to let them move on!!!!! (at least superficially. i dont think any of them would ever truly move on after mochi leaves. how would you ever just spend 2-3 years in this magic world of action and adventure and then just suddenly drop it all and go work a 9-5??? impossible. they all tangentially stayed in the magic community and would be ready at the drop of a hat to rejoin mochi if she ever came back and asked them to!!)

#anyway. i am thinking thoughts this weekend #the big question is did lime date anyone while he was out adventuring #the answer is no #probably went on a handful of dates with random girls that fell in love with him so he could try to get over mochi #but none of it was ever effective at removing her from his heart #so eventually he just gave up #focus on yourself king

Hi 👋🏼 I've been reading through the whole tag to follow a little (I need a distraction from my shitty life and nerve braking mother (she can really get me mad)) I don't know if it's a good idea or even if any of the following would be a good idea, but here's my proposal for the following questions :

What would lewis and nico call their daughter?

Okay so I have two option here either something really British/German or something related to faith. Because I can see Lewis a religious person trying to push the agenda of a faith related name. If they go for something blending their nationality then maybe something "fancy/upper-class" So my option are either Maria or Gabrielle for the faith related name. For something fancy maybe Carla or Julie.

What does the kid look like? She's adopted, but at what age?

Okay so probably she would have brown skin or she would be "mixed race" (I don't like that term at all but I don't have any other word to describe.) So probably brown with blond mixed hair either curling at the end of her hair. Or if she's not brown skinned then she's white like winter white with curly hair.

For her age probably around 8 when Lewis and Nico are like we are getting a divorce.

Do they know her mother?

I think they know her because in my mind one of them is her biological father. (just to add a little bit of drama to the whole thing 😈) but if not then they still know her and have her info but they never saw her in person. They probably have a picture of her to show the little girl one day if she were to ask questions about her mother.

Is one of them her biological father or are they both unrelated to her?

Like I said above I think that one of them is her biological father, and depending on your preferred apparence for her you can get who her father is. In my opinion if she's white then Nico is her father. If she's brown Lewis is. Because they will definitely try to find a woman who has the other characteristics to be as close as them both being her natural parent as possible.

And that's it for my thoughts. You can discard them tho. It's just something that flooded my mind and I had to share it but I don't know if it will be even remotely useful 😅

so the age thing. she's in the last year of primary school, which, in the netherlands, means she's 11/12.

i was brainstorming w vani about the brocedes situation and we thought maybe they only recently decided that it doesn't really work - nico being away for work a lot and them disagreeing over certain things certainly didn't help - and that they're on an unofficial break. they're 'taking some time apart' but maybe still considering getting back together eventually. then max comes in, makes lewis feel seen and loved, and lewis falls for him and makes his decision.

either that, or they've been apart for a bit longer. maybe until the kid was 6, or 8 as you said, and they're all a bit used to the situation and found their ways around it to work with the whole two-houses things. what do you guys think?

OHHHHHHHH!! A scene between THESE TWO!

And boy does this opening shot set the tone! At Udagawa, of flippin’ course, with Neku a short distance and facing away from Joshua while looking...not angry, exactly, but he’s certainly stern. Not thrilled to be here, that’s for sure.

And Joshua is his usual smirking self, of course.

I can’t imagine this scene having anything unimportant to say and I’m dying to know how things are going between these two!

WOW! Okay, yeah, that’s as perfect as I could have hoped!

Things are the same, but different. Joshua’s being unhelpfully helpful. Neku’s doing Josh favours but isn’t exactly happy about it. They’re on the same side, they know each other, they trust each other and deep down (especially in Neku’s case) they might even enjoy each other’s company, but a lot has happened between them and the scales aren’t exactly balanced.

Case in point, Joshua sent Neku to Shinjuku! Looking back, Neku was all “Beat’s me” when asked about that, but this scene shows he knew it was Joshua the whole time. He had no obligation to lie for Joshua, but he did. It was Joshua’s fault that Neku was stuck in Shinjuku for three years, but doing so probably played a big role in saving Shibuya. Neku was working as Joshua’s agent the whole time and he did everything in his power to help Joshua while not blabbing to anyone he liked about him, even though it’s clear from his lines here that he’s probably holding at least a little blame against him for what he’s been through.

Trying to tie all the threads together is pretty hard (we are in dire need of a midquel), given that the last time we saw Joshua in AND, in a private conversation with Hanekoma, he was dismissing Neku and saying he didn’t need him anymore. But now he’s revealing that he was actually intent on having Neku serve another purpose for him? To say nothing of him stepping in earlier to help Neku when that plan was kicking off?

My immediate theory is that Coco somehow seemed to be listening in on that conversation, given what she says afterwards at the end of AND. So perhaps Joshua somehow knew or suspected that Coco was eavesdropping and was trying to mislead her, given that he outright says here that he didn’t trust her. Until I know a more concrete explantion for how those two dots get joined, I’ll roll with that.

I have to say, especially hearing the two original voice actors having a full conversation here, it’s great to have these two back! Their dynamic is so complex and interesting, now even more so with all the time that’s passed. I like that in many ways, Joshua’s smug teasing hasn’t changed, but he’s still a bit more honest and amicable to Neku now that there are far less secrets between them.

And for Neku’s part, he obviously still has a couple of reservations about Joshua and seems to have gone along with him at least somewhat reluctantly, but he still did it fully and faithfully. With time and growth, he’s way wiser to Joshua’s comments and is able to roll with them a lot easier. He understand Joshua better than he did before, and given what they’re like, that understanding goes a long way. He knows what Joshua is, and it seems like he's better able to accept that now.

Whatever obstacles still stand between these two, they are friends. Whatever still hasn’t been forgiven, there’s still trust. Whatever they think or don’t think about each other, there’s respect.

This duo are pretty much the cornerstone of this series at the end of the day. Not because they’re the most postive or healthy duo, certainly, but because there’s so much to say and so much that doesn’t need to be said. Their relationship is so interesting and so unique. It always deserves that appreciation.

A flood of goodnight messages came in as Weiss waved goodbye, signing off. She rested her head in her arms as her friends also disconnected. Weiss exited out of everything except for her video call window, choosing to start a new one. It took half a ring before her messy hair blonde popped into view.

Weiss:Hi~ did you have fun?

Jaune:Hehe, hi. Yeah, I did.

Weiss:Don’t feel pressured to join in on streaming or show up to mine okay? Only do it if you want to.

Jaune:I mean…I’d love to spend more time with you. Plus Nora is right. You do need a little help.

Weiss:*blushing* So…I can expect to spend a night with you playing nonsense and laughing?

Jaune:Sign me up.

Weiss:Cool. Can’t wait. Goodnight Jaune.

Jaune:Night, love you. Sweet dreams

Weiss:I love you too.

She didn’t want to end the call but did. Weiss wasn’t expecting all this from a relentless night. Though how could she complain? Those cups of coffee served her well.

Ruby open the door to Weiss’s apartment, just to make sure everything was okay. She was happy to find her partner fast asleep, her mouse still over Jaune’s icon. Ruby smiled, approaching the computer and turning it off, then draping a blanket onto the light sleeper

Hey I happened Apon a post where you commented about how BBC Merlin is actually a horror series and your explanation of that was so compelling that it’s all I can think about now is Merlin through that meta narrative horror lense and I need you to talk about it more immediately or I might go coco bananas bc wtf I cant get it out of my head

Oh! Thank you, it's very nice to hear it was compelling :)) I don't quite remember what I said -- there's a lot about Merlin that's horrifying -- but I suspect that it had to do with the fact that the characters in Merlin are trapped and not allowed to escape. By virtue of the genre, we expect that they will escape. We expect that Merlin will be freed from his obligation to hide and to make compromising moral decisions because the future of the kingdom rests on his shoulders. We expect that Arthur will be freed from the world of lies he’s living in. The plot goes in this direction, too -- you’re so certain that that’s what’s going to happen in “sins of the father”....and then it doesn’t. You think it might happen in “the disir”...and then it doesn’t. In both these cases, Merlin intentionally lies to Arthur, keeping them both trapped. Add to this the fact that the writers keep resetting Arthur’s character to allow them to play out the same plot line over and over. I think, to be honest, this is just lazy writing, but the way it combines with the intentional writing choices gives you an uncanny feeling, kind of like watching a time loop and realizing the thing you thought would break it doesn’t, or like watching a vampire or zombie attack our protagonist and seeing the exact moment their struggle turns to acquiescence, watching the now-infected person return to their friends and feed on them without their knowledge. Even at the end, Merlin is not allowed to escape, forced to play out the same time loop for all eternity.

I’m really not a great horror aficionado, so I’m kind of struggling to come up with comparisons -- perhaps you’re better versed in horror theory and can articulate this better! I think the horror effect is most pronounced for me with Arthur’s storyline, especially with his relationship to Merlin. Arthur has no reason to believe he’s making decisions of anything other than his own free will, but he’s unaware of the manipulation constantly happening behind his back. Maybe the closest comparison i can think of is the truman show. The only character who is allowed to break out is Morgana, and she immediately becomes a monstrous villain, at least in the eyes of our protagonists.

This ask was the motivation i needed to actually make a merlin side-blog, so @camelotluteguild is it! I’m curious to hear your thoughts on this and related topics -- I think the thing that makes Merlin so compelling to me is the way in which different expectations and meta-narratives get layered onto each other, both intentionally and by virtue of a tv show being a group project -- it often leads to really interesting effects!
