im tired of this sickness called 'i dont know how to art very well but i still want to share my headcanons' so im overcoming it by,,, just sharing my headcanons via writing,,,,,

So yeah the demon brothers are too bishonen for me so here's a kinda monsterf*cker rendition of them. Im also a horror fan so i wanted to make em scary hee hee

Lucifer

At first sight, he has a crown of sorts, made from black glass, protruding from his head, where cherry red blood is always dripping, the wound never closing down

When you get a little closer though, you figure out that the sharp shards of glass have a slight round edge to the ends, it's his halo, he tells you one day, when he fell it broke in pieces and stuck to his head. He could've easily taken it out, but he decided against it, this was who he was now, and he wanted everyone to know. His brothers couldnt look at his face for weeks, too shaken up by the gory display on his head, but they got used to it over the years.

The most human looking out of his brothers, except for the wounds and scars of course. Silently wonders if his curse is to be permanently reminded of the creature he used to be, and the fact that he will never quite look like he belongs in the devildom.

His demon form is something else entirely, gone is the charming gentleman with salt and pepper hair and blood dripping down the side of his face, replaced by something much, much more incomprehensive

Think of a biblically accurate angel mixed w a lovecraftian monster, big and impressive and quite honestly, terrifying

Thought very long and hard abt how to incorporate the peacock aspects in his design but i didnt come up w anything besides his clothes lmaooo

I thought of a lot of renassaince depictions of lucifer, always the most beautiful angel, even as he falls, so i think it makes sense that he's the most human looking and tries to resemble a demon as much as he can, he Is in a position of power after all, he needs all the respect he can get.

Mammon

i KNOW mammon is supposed to be a crow, but his demon form resembles a dragon too much for me to think of him as anything else

Sharp, SHARP teeth, but next to Levi he looks like the nicest dog in the block

His ears are also sharp, almost everything about him is sharp (his nails are also sharp 😰 but he clips them dont worry 😚)

His sclera is yellow and his pupils are slit-like, he never really liked his eyes so he uses his tinted yellow sunglasses to kinda, play it off. Since they're tinted it looks like his sclera is just white hehe

Can't breathe fire but he does blow steam from his mouth, so, uh, careful if you get him too angry or too... excited?

These are just assorted headcanons but mammon has a lot of piercings, especially on his ears (they're pretty long so he has space to spare), i also see him having snake bites below his mouth he just looks really good with those

He has a smaller scar on his right eyebrow from the war, he does like the look though, makes him look 'tough' in his words

His hair is super fluffy though, no one knows how

He fits th dragon fursona (lol) bc dragons are stereotypically associated with gold, and idk i think hes just cool. I would have made him a bird boy but dragon mammon was calling to me

Leviathan

Has a lot of hidden surprises, at first sight he's just an incel with a serpent tail and even that is hidden from plain sight.

As he starts getting more comfortable around you you see him talk more and you notice stuff about his mouth. Namely, his forked tongue, his full set of extremely sharp, shark-like teeth, and, you know, the fact that he has at least fifty something in there

Due to this his mouth is wider and bigger so he's not very fond of smiling for pictures or just laughing in public in general :(

Has fins instead of ears but most of the time theyre covered up by his mullet. Also has gills

Has several scales/markings on his body that glow in the dark, this is based on some deep sea fish that need to have these type of things to survive on the depths! He has some on his forehead and thats another reason he has longer hair lol

Yeah his d*cks glow too im sorry

Cuter headcanon but he likes being in his room with no lights on bc of this, he's his own gamer lights

Also has slit pupils and blinks vertically. Actually thinks this one is cool because he freaks mammon out when he blinks

He can stay very, very still for a moment and then move extremely fast. He usually does this to scare you but also just does it in general

It's worse in the water. He is literally made to be in it, so just pray he never plays marco polo with you.

His tail is out 24/7 but he usually curls it up on his torso or his leg when he's out in public, has a lot of scales leading up to it along his back

His form is pretty high maintenance, his skin gets dry quickly and his tail sheds once a month and he has way more teeth he needs to wash and its not fair-

Spent a century in the sea so when he finally reunited with his brothers and finally saw what he looked like he just kinda freaked out about his appeareance and never got used to it, he feels like a monster.

General headcanon but levi is chubby and you can pry this one out of my cold dead hands

He's a gamer boy (tm) and a literal shut in and also he needs it to survive colder temperatures in water so yeah levi is chubby he told me himself

Satan

The least human looking brother, since he was born from Lucifer's pure hatred, he is the closest thing resembling a demon

He has black ram horns and a segmented, bone like tail out at all times.

His eyes resemble goat eyes and theyre bright green, very noticeable

HAS NO NOSE, he just has that upside down heart thing like a skull. Hes real life sans (jk)

The tips of his fingers are black, mammon teases him and asks him if he enjoyed erasing the board with his fingers lol

When he takes out his shirt, you can see his ribs, and not in a 'skinny' type of way, you can literally see his ribs like his torso is a damn xray, thankfully he becomes more corporeal as you go down so you dont see a lot of organs but its still freaky

Mammon is sharp but satan is boney AND sharp, he's scary ngl

Has satyr legs. Like straight up those goat like mfs with hooves and everything, not gonna lie he pulls them off.

He's scary which is so much more jarring when you realize that he's the more civilized brother next to his siblings

Asmodeus

When you see him the first time you think he's a human. But when you get closer you immediately figure out that something is wrong.

You dont know what it is though, he doesnt have bleeding wounds like Luci, or yellow eyes like Mammon, or shark teeth like Levi, so what's up?

As you start to interact with him more you notice certain things, like the way his whole body seems to tremble when it's getting late, or how he seems like a blur when he moves too quick, or how his height changes nearly everyday

Asmo shapeshifts, it's one of the reasons he's so popular, he's very confident in all of his forms and likes to experiment with them, but his favorite is the one he uses most often, the strawberry blonde with the dreamy eyes. The way he looked back at the heavenly realm

It isnt a perfect form though, none of them are, all of them are too perfect to resemble a human, think of the uncanny valley when you imagine them. Like a living doll or some kind of android, its popular in the devildom but you dont quite get it.

It does however take a lot from him, he NEEDS his beauty sleep at the end of the day, maintaning a form throught the whole day is exhausting

In reality, he's quite literally a shapeless mass. A pink blob that sometimes tries to shape itself into its old form, but never finishes materalizing. He can keep a basic human silhouette in this form but dont expect a lot of details except for his eyes, which are unchangeable.

If you get to see him in this state then consider yourself someone he trusts, not everyone is allowed to see behind all the glam and glitz

Beelzebub

Looks like a rotting corpse, a chunk of his cheek is missing so you can see his teeth and constantly has bugs surrounding him

Normally it's flies but once in a while he finds a maggot somewhere and you almost faint

Has lots of bandages covering his body because his skin is very prone to opening up

It doesn't hurt him or faze him but it heals very slowly and it is annoying, especially when he works out

He doesn't smell as bad as he looks though, it's mostly cosmetic.

His wings are always out, the other brothers have to go on demon form to use them (if they even have them lmao, levi is still salty about that)

One of his eyes is like a fly's eye. Its completely orange and segmented, idk if im explaining myself well but u get it

His hands are sticky, kinda like spiderman, he didnt know how to control them very well at the beggining but now he's a pro. His hand does stick to your hair exactly one (1) time and he feels terrible afterwards

Think of cronenberg's The Fly for his demon form, full body horror

Belphegor

cow boy 🙄

Youre not as taken aback when you meet him because he just looks like a furry, his lil nose, his cow ears, his tail.

Honestly looks more cute than scary but he doesnt need to look scary to be so

Is impossibly strong, so when he chokes you you put up little fight, you're literally helpless

The heavy eyebags, the sickly paleness of his skin, his dilated pupils and bloodshot eyes. No matter how much he sleeps, he still looks on the brink of fainting

Has a lot of memory problems, especially short term, so dont get offended if he forgets something you told him lol

Looks generally unkept but thats more on him than anything lol. He really does appreciate when someone forces him to take care of his appearence so, be on the lookout for that

His changes are more apparent on his demeanor rather than his physique, but no one really knows how much is just his sin taking over and how much are his regret and bitterness talking.

Also no, you cant milk him.

ouuUGHHH you know what you're doing asking me this question youuuUUU 🫵 i have too many faves and too many artists in mind for each of them but because you asked, i will do the impossible task of singling em out 🥲🫶🏻

hajime: joseph tilley (together) or khalid (open) ok this one is cheating but i can't not give more than one. i have multiple songs from those artists for hajime, and they're both diff vibes! kind of like a hajime in the day and a hajime at night driving with hand on thigh... you get the vibes (tho honestly, the night one also might be majid jordan more than khalid...). joseph's music is really boyish (if that makes sense) and i think it matches hajiime's charm!! and khalid's music has like a vibe-y flirtiness to it that i think also fits hajime when he's in a relationship!!! it's just... attractive

oikawa: HONESTLY harry styles (golden) i swear this isn't bc they have the same hair sjdfbjdsaf i have like 3 songs from him in my oiks playlist so i think this makes sense—i think it's mostly bc harry's music feels oddly intimate while being far away idk like there's always some form of yearning or adventure in it

megumi: the neighbourhood (stargazing) so many songs from the neighbourhood remind me of megs, but also omar apollo works for him too!! kinda emo kinda not... eitherway there's a deep emotionality to it i think and a sense of escape that i feel a relationship with megs would feel like

gojo: chase atlantic (heaven and back) i think the jjk boys fit chase atlantic in general but i have a lot of songs from them for gojo and tho there are other songs that i think fit him more, i think the chase atlantic songs speak to the more tragic and darker side of him!!

bakugo: paramore (my heart) honestly idk if there's rlly an artist for bakugo yet but i think paramore is the closest!! i think it captures his angst the most 🥲 his complex feelings hsfbd he's such a complicated character i feel like not one single artist can explain him

shouto: jeremy zucker & chelsea cutler (this is how you fall in love) sooo many of their songs make me think of shouto omg dfsdjhfbgdj i think it's bc of how delicate they are and i always think that shouto needs to be handled gently!!! and i think a relationship w him would be a lot of patience and learning

hmm.. do you have any favourite Pokémon/Poképasta characters? If so, what do you like about them? Or.. if you could make your own Poképasta character, what would their concept or design be? Or name in general, you don’t have to do a fully fleshed out backstory for them. Orrr, what’s your favourite thing about being on the internet or being in a fandom?

i... to no ones surprise, reaaally like steven. glitchys up there, but i think his og pokepasta sort of sucks ( which is not an unpopular opinion ), but strangled red ( specifically strangled red, strangled and doors open are... neat, but sort of badly written and way more stereotypical ) is just... mwah. chefs kiss. stories about grief and abt a depressive spiral that gets worse and worse AND you get to see how he was like before it? soo good. you can argue the missingno plotline in it was unnecessary which i could agree but i think its just cool more than anything else, esp since most pokepastas based on gen 1 use it or other glitches in the 1st gens for horror a lot, which i think is interesting. missingno can be many things!

i like to think logically that glitches and stuff in game prob exist in the pokemon universe as well, since... well.. pokemon can be turned into data. you put them into the pc. missingno likely just exists and is a heavily corrupted pokemon that is not supposed to be there, or a glitch that the pc or something made real.

therefore, miki probably was "healed" because missingno "filled" her "missing data" or something like that, but i like to keep it more vague and ambiguous too. you can do a lot with strangled red and steven, miki, and mike too which just intrigues me. once again read lessons in guilt and grief and faulty on ao3. they explore this and steven, mike, ( and daisy who doesnt get enough attention ) in a way i 100% agree with and enjoy .

as for other characters i obviously enjoy glitchy but i much more enjoy the like... post-fnflull version of him cuz' in his original popularity he was just sort of prettyboy red who was also a creepypasta but ppl barely drew him like he was one ( i like fnf lulls interp bc of how his body constantly stutters and how when hes irate his mouth just stretches and shit like that. gmod ragdoll with broken physics ass mf ). also as said before his pokepastas sort of forgettable but i do like the concept of a red stuck in a game self aware bc im allll for that shit. i am an IHNMBIMS fan, i love AM, i love self aware AIs that feel trapped and take it out on every1 else or cope with it in Some Way... very interesting concept, idk.

honorable mentions for pokepastas that ppl prob know that i do not talk abt a lot that i like the writing or concepts for are DISABLED and Hell Bell.

hell bell you could argue has a stereotypical 'pasta ending of "ooooh you die in the game you die for real" but idk i eat up the way they did it in hell bell bc the person doesnt die but they sort of do since nobody can see em anymore ( iirc, i hvent read it in a bit ). also uses gen 4 which as someone who started mainline games with diamond and pearl respectively, i enjoy that a lot.

for DISABLED, its not super deep or scary or anything ( ok well its scary for the narrator obviously ) but its another one that just sorta makes me feel bad in all the right ways.

i have concepts for pokepasta aus of my ocs and some side characters but they arent pokepastas theyre just like... ppl who live in the world ( of fnf lull usually since i like to think everything there is connected and coexists somehow ), but i am not original to save my life so i dont think id make an actual pokepasta anytime soon, lol. the closest i got was making a super horrible choose your own adventure where you played as a cubone on deviantart when i was like idk 9

as for internet and fandom stuff, i dont associate myself w fandoms or fandom terminology and unironically i just start to call myself an "enjoyer" of things, bc i dont like being associated w anything... fandom oriented a lot of the time anymore. a lot of fanonization of characters also sucks. i do think the pokepasta fandom has some funny fanonizations though. like yes dilfify that man ( @ steven )

also esp for pokepastas bc i have Hyperfixation Shame. its why i have a sideblog for it, both so it has a concentrated place to go and so no one knows i like it enough to write abt it lol

Deku

You’d been traveling down different aisles for hours so many that deku found himself getting amazed that the store could even hold this many

he found himself thinking that the store just had its own shape shifting quirk that could change the aisles anytime someone went down them

that was the only way to explain it I mean It had to have one right because how did you find this new brand of ceral and he didn’t

How did you just pick up this new candy bar that he had never known abo—

wait candy bar

he snapped himself out of his trance drawing himself back into the real world finally hearing your voice and seeing your cart that was filled to the brim with different items from the original plan that he didn’t even know you two needed

“ oh god babe look — they “ you jumped in your shoes as you reached up to the top shelf “ they have hot chocolate “

“ we um y/n— baby”

you turned to him with a smile on your face

“ we don’t nee— “

“ deku could you get the hot chocolate it’s too far in the back at the top my hand doesn’t reach that way it’s at an awkward angle “

he looked to the floor for a moment before turning his head to look at the hot chocolate biting his lip as he stayed in his spot on the ground maybe if he just stayed here he could lie and say he’d been hit with a glue quirk you wouldn’t know righ—

your stare sent chills down his spine as he hurried over to pickup the box setting it neatly on top of the rest of the things in the cart shaking his head when he finally seen everything you’d gotten

He could never tell you no

all he wanted was for you to be happy he loved seeing you and everyone else happy he hated to see people with any other emotion it made him feel like it was his fault regardless of who it was

family or friend

villian or hero

he felt like everyone deserved to be happy which is why he was following every order you gave him like a puppy

his little protests every once and a while falling on deaf ears

“ but baby then you have to get the rest of the ingredients for s’mores you can’t just buy crackers “

he moved to grab the box carefully putting it back a pout on your face as he bit his lip shaking his head in defeat and holding it out to you and looking to the floor

“ yay —now where are the other ingredients for ‘ em do you know deku ? “

his last attempt finally hitting you when you two were standing in line to checkout “ y/n “

“ yeah “

“ baby can —how about I pay for the stuff ok “

you looked at him in shock

“ I don’t —you just did all the shopping and I want to help and let you rest “

he reached in his pocket as he maneuvered the cart to be placed In line dropping his keys in your palm “ here—go sit In the car ok my love “

he kissed your forehead as he moved up in the line

“ no I swear I got this just go you’ve been on your feet all day “

“ look how about this “

he moved to stand on the side of the cart next to you “ you tell me what you really look forward to that your buying and i’ll make sure to get that first ok so you know that I got it and whatever else is in the cart i’ll pay for last ok “

you smiled as you listed off the ten things you’d originally had a taste for which, is why you guys ended up going to the store in the first place

you just wanted to get some groceries so you two could have some food in your new apartment

Deku had finally agreed to move out of his moms apartment thinking that she was ok and had finally come to terms with him being a real hero

allowing him more time to spend with you after making sure she was taken care of

The hero association offered him a house with no down payment after they found out but they were hit with your boyfriend saying no and explaining how you would both like to work hard for everything you two get in the future

sad thing is you wanted the house

you kissed his cheek leaving the store him putting every item you just said on the check out register watching it move up as he started conversation with the lady in front of him

“ yeah being a hero’s actually harder than I thought “

he laughed as he watched her ring everything up “ y’know actually could you do me a favor “

she shook her head small smile on her face as he gulped “ might uh — might be a weird request bu— “

“ no we don’t do hero referrals here “

“ wait no I — wait hero referrals no I “ he laughed uncomfortable with how many people were around “ no I don’t want to trade companies — uh let’s not uh “

he looked around making sure no one heard as he set his arms on the ledge speaking soft “ let’s uh let’s not say that aloud ok y’know —cameras—my company — and yeah “

he cleared his throat “ what I was actually y’know talking about was “

“ we don’t do — “

“ please allow me to speak “

she moved to scan his items as he sighed and started over “ again this may be a weird request but can you um — can you just like take this and put it back “

“ oh yeah of course you should of just said that “ she cupped her mouth as she screamed to her friend “ hey mari can you put his item back for me “

“ yeah sure —an item where’s it at ?“

“ oh it’s um not just one ite— “

“ it might be this — I don’t know who eats canned fruit so — he’s probably putting it back “

“ no uh — “ his eyebrows furrowed in slight annoyance “ actually my s/o eats those i’m not putting them back “

he whispered under his breath “ they’d kill me “

“ ok then where’s the item “

he laughed as he talked to her “ well um I meant could you actually put this back “

“ oh yeah sure if it’s just like 4 thin—- the whole cart“

her eyes widened as she watched deku push the cart towards her “ s-sir the — that’s like our whole store in one cart “

he shook at the comment

“ do you know how long i’m going to be walking around and putting things back where they belong “

his head dropped in embarrassment as he turned red his ears wiggling in fear “ oh trust me I know —i should be applying for manager with the way I know every aisle by heart now “

she shook her head and grabbed the cart as she rolled off

“ w-wait actually “

he ran after her as he rummaged through the cart “ ok yeah got it i’m done “

she stood stone faced as she looked to the male in front of her in pure annoyance and hatred

“ you stopped me to grab the things to make s’mores from the cart “

“ my —my s/o wants to try s’mores “

“ you have to be the best boyfriend ever or something because you allowed them to get all this stuff and waste your time and mine just to put it all back “

the lady at the register moved to grab his card bagging his stuff and handing it to him “ the fact you even acknowledged this and love them enough to let them run wild in the store for hours —like a child says a lot “

Imagine this...

Several wheelbarrows’ full of packages addressed to the twins arrived at Octavinelle every holiday. At first, Octa A was startled by the strange influxes of mail--but his concerns were often dismissed by his upperclassmen. Most notably, Jade would reassure him that the packages thanks to the Leeches’ “extensive connections” and “family ties”, whatever that meant.

The mob student tried not to linger on the meaning of those words too often, for whenever he did, his mind would wander into dark theories. Whichever corner of the deep, murky sea the twins originated from, Octa A didn’t want to be dragged there for asking too many questions.

So he closed his eyes and went about his work like the diligent employee that he was. The school year passed, and in turn, so did the holidays--and, as expected, the packages arrived without fail on each special occasion.

Then came Valentine’s Day.

“Wh-Whoah...!!”

Octa A’s jaw dropped at the sheer amount of mail unceremoniously littered across the floor of the Mostro Lounge. Boxes large and small were stacked as tall as him, wrapping paper of various patterns, glittery bows, and packing peanuts were scattered everywhere. One big mess.

Floyd say amongst the packages, giddily ripping boxes open, while Jade stood at the edge of the sea of mail, carefully inspecting the various packages.

“G-Good morning,” Octa A called out as he slowly waded through the mail, cautious about not stepping on anything. “What’s... What’s all of this? Th-This is a lot of mail--even more than usual.”

“Oya. Good morning to you as well, Kon-san,” Jade replied with a polite wave. “Bright and early for your shift, I see.”

“Ahh? It’s Konbu-chan!” Floyd cried, wearing a toothy grin. The eel excitedly waved to him, hailing the mob student over. “C’mere!”

Oh, thank Neptune, Octa A thought. He had caught the brothers in good moods today. The last thing he needed was a grumpy Floyd or a passive aggressive Jade leering over his shoulder.

With a little less trepidation than usual, he tip-toed over. Octa A just narrowly missed dirtying a discarded bunch of blue tissue paper before he reached his upperclassman.

“Hold your hand out,” Floyd commanded, his smile stretching.

“O-Okay...?” Octa A obeyed, unsure of what to expect.

“Here you goooo!!”

Floyd dropped something brown, warm, and sticky into the mob student’s palms. Octa A jumped at the strange sensation, his thoughts racing to the conclusion that it was something unsanitary--but when a sweet smell hit his nose and Octa A immediately knew it was chocolate.

“I don’t want it, so you can have it!”

“E-Ehhh?! Y-You’re just going to hand me a bunch of melted chocolate?!”

“Yup! Oh--you can have those too,” Floyd added, jabbing a thumb at a box by Octa A’s feet. “And this, and that... pretty much all of it, ‘cept the one from mom.”

“W-Whaaat?! Th-There’s no way that I can eat all of that...!!”

Jade’s laughter cut in, interrupting the conversation. “My, my, Kon-san. There is no need to fret. You need not consume all these sweets. Feel free to dispose of them as you wish, if that is what you think is best.”

“Th-Throwing them out is just as bad as giving them away!!” Octa A cast a sympathetic look at all the packages. Some thrown open, their guts spilling out, and others left totally untouched by their intended recipients.

“Oh? Whatever do you mean. Please, do enlighten us.”

“Tch. You gonna lecture us, Konbu-chan? This oughta be good.”

“What about... What about the feelings of the people that sent them? If they’re all Valentine’s Day gifts... s-some of them must be confession or friendship chocolates, people pining for you. Y-You can’t just throw away their feelings like that...!!”

The twins exchanged glances with one another, then collectively stared at Octa A. Floyd started first, his slow and steady chortle becoming increasingly raspy and unhinged. Jade followed suit, his gentlemanly chuckle twisting into a composed, yet cruel laugh.

“Wh-What’s so funny?”

“I simply find your naivety fascinating, Kon-san,” Jade replied with a grin. It seemed grossly out of place, given how he had laughed mere moments ago at the notion of discarding emotions.

“We don’t need to accept everything that’s thrown our way, you know~” Floyd cackled, flicking a wrapped truffle across the room. It hit the wall and ricocheted under a table. “Especially when we know all this junk’s from kiss-ups that wanna make it big.”

“H-Huh?” Octa A’s eyebrows knitted together. “What do you mean...?”

“Floyd.” Jade’s voice took on a stricter tone than usual with his twin. “You’ve gone and said too much.”

“Ehhh? It’s fiiine,” Floyd insisted with a pout. “It’s not like any of ‘em will know! And they always do the same thing every year. It’s sooo boring!”

“I understand your sentiments--it does become rather troublesome for us to dispose of these chocolates every year. However, that is a time and place for everything, and this is not one of those times.” Jade’s eyes briefly cut to Octa A before returning to his brother.

Floyd rolled his eyes, shrugged, and returned to delving into boxes.

“Um... S-So what did Floyd-senpai mean by ‘kiss-ups’?” Octa A dared to ask--his curiosity getting the better of him.

Jade heaved a sigh. “... If you really must know, Floyd and I are quite ‘popular’ back home in the Coral Sea. This is due, in part, to our father’s rather successful business enterprise. There are a number of his partners and associates that wish for what the Leech family has.”

He gestured to Floyd, who was still wrestling around with the packages. “Thus, they often attempt to curry favor by sending gifts. The hope is to soften us up to them--but many of them, I suspect, are aiming for a far greater long term prize: our hands in marriage, and therefore near unlimited access to the resources and power that our father wields.”

Octa A paled. Already, he could feel his stomach sinking, and his body temperature turning chilly--as though he had just plunged into an icy sea. He was on the cusp of a dark secret--he felt it in his gut.

“O-Oh... I see... Ahahah... Y-Your family politics sound complicated, Jade-senpai, Floyd-senpai.”

“Indeed, they are.” Jade spoke quietly, his eyes digging into Octa A’s soul. Though the eel still sported a curve to his lips, his gaze lacked warmth. The light seemed to have drained from his irises, leaving them dull and frigid.

Sizing the mob student up--trying to ascertain whether or not Octa A needed to be blackmailed into submission--into silence.

“I trust that you would not dig deeper. It would be rather unfortunate if we lost one of our treasured employees.”

Octa A gulped, nodding vigorously to confirm an unspoken promise to Jade. Then the first year scrambled to make small talk, to change the topic, if only to avoid his vice-dorm leader’s dreadful stare.

“I-It does sound annoying to have people always trying to get your attention. I-I’d just want to live a quiet, peaceful life not getting noticed by too many folks... That way, I can just do what I want.”

“That sounds sooo nice!” Floyd chimed in from the floor. “It sucks when other people try to tell you what to do or how to be, or tryin’ to get you to act how they want! Like, if I’m gonna do something, I’m gonna do it cuz I wanna, not cuz someone else wanted me to.”

“I-I guess...?”

“Ehehe. Konbu-chan gets us! So you’ll take all the chocolate off our hands, right? Riiiight?”

“E-Eh?! I-I mean, I can if it really troubles you so much, senpai--”

“Great! I knew we could count on you~ Here, here, take it all!!” Floyd leapt to his feet and began piling box after box in Octa A’s arms, despite the melted chocolate pooling in the mob student’s palms. Chocolate smeared on the bottom-most box, and Octa A yelped.

“W-Wait...!! P-Please slow down...!!”

“Fufufu. Thank you for your assistance,” came Jade’s voice. Octa A couldn’t see him, since a bunch of boxes now obscured his line of sight, but he was sure that Jade was smirking.

He caught a flash of movement in his periphery. Jade emerged on his left, his olive and gold eyes narrowed--and his mouth, lined with sharp teeth, folded into a perfect smile.

“Did you know, Kon-san? Many people would kill to be in the position that you are in... being able to so casually engage with us on a daily basis,” Jade chuckled, granting the mob student a pat on the back. “Octavinelle is very fortunate to have our full attention, don’t you agree?”

“Y-Yessir...”

Did you ever create a Playlist for your 3 acts fic? Like I know Barb is musical nerd in the first act and you had godsdamn abba running in the background while they were running away from angor in what wouls theoretically be the angor management arc but...curious if you follow an actual Playlist or is it just vibes?

It sort of depends in a sort of "What came first the chicken or the egg?" kind of way. As sometimes I'm inspired deeply by a song or a music piece for a certain situation or characters. Is the piece situationally appropriate? Character appropriate? Both? - I go into more detail about that here.

Take the Gimme Gimme Gimme (a Man After Midnight) not only is it appropriate (I believe) in terms of the lyrics, in which that man after midnight is most likely Strickler should he ever get his shit together (he will in the future), who is currently acting as their getaway driver while being chased by another Midnight man of a different sort (Angor). But also coincides with Barbara's love of musicals! Its very conceivable of her to have a CD soundtrack of the Mamma Mia musical (maybe even a remastered one at that). Sure it's played as a goof to alleviate the tension, but it also paves the way for other Mamma Mia moments that Barbara could have (The biggest one I'm excited for being The Winner Takes it All. Great potential for a future Walter and Barbara situation. or EVEN, Barbara contemplating her ex-husband James.)

Then there's the song the section is named after Roundabout. Which, is the goofy Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure meme song, but also an incredibly good song when listened to in its entirety - and the lyrics feel incredibly fitting situationally, and leaning towards Strickler some. Not to mention the lyrics are incredibly telling in a Stricklake sort of way...

We the readers know that between the two of them it will be Strickler who remembers Barbara - and it foreshadows Barbara's own change as she starts to deviate from canon.

My plot dictates the music, and sometimes I'm dictated by the music, in a very "chicken or the egg" way haha. Sometimes I have songs set and ready put aside

For instance in ACT II when Nomura and Jim inevitably fight for Gunmar's amusement deep in the depths of the Darklands I know for a FACT I want to use Bizet's "Toreador" from the opera Carmen. As the fight is not only a show for Gunmar like watching a bull fight. But also, to the surprise of no one, Nomura will have a lot of association to Opera. So the piece will be not only situationally but also characteristically accurate. The real question might end up being, between Jim and Nomura, who is the bull? And could the bull be someone not even in the rink? (Gunmar).

What music pieces I have leading up to that is foggy and vague, I have other music pieces set aside, especially for Nomura, but it likewise depends on how the plot will evolve while I write it too! Maybe down the line I'll think of something I hadn't while planning and BAM there's a whole section based on the soundtrack to The Legend of Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess or something lkgdlkfj (As to me, Jim as a lot of LoZ vibes musically, among others!)

Another one I have planned but am unsure what other music pieces will happen until I reach that point is the dreaded S3 Merlin scene where he tries to convince Jim to become a troll. In my own morbid humor (mainly to cope) I have set aside Neon Genesis Evangelion's "Cruel Angel's Thesis" cause 1 the song fucking slaps, 2 I couldn't stop associating Jim with Shinji when I watched that scene. Specifically the joke "Get in the fucking robot Shinji" Cue Jim and Shinji having a Bad Time Indeed™ ;w; (Don't worry, Merlin is planned to have an even WORSE time afterwards). (ง •̀ω•́)ง✧

And maybe that'll change!! I remember for ch15 I had originally planned on the song section to be Mitski's Crack Baby. As it felt VERY fitting for both Barbara and Walter. Not only for Barbara's memory loss, but also that changeling feeling of missing something that you're not entirely sure about.

And YET Samba Em Prelúdio felt hauntingly right to me, it was soft, delicate, the lyrics are tragic, and the way Vinicius de Moraes ,Maria Creuza, Toquinho sing it gives me goosebumps every time.

But, if asked for, he would've have mixed feelings.

Because he knows how fate can be, and It could happen sometimes, or even something similar like It happened with him and Qiran.

But overall, he isn't sure about its existence 100% either.

He has something that reminds him of his friends/past, even through some little pictures, an object, a drawing or something among these lines.

For example, remember that bear plushies on that one Ruri/Kayn comic? Yeah, that's one of the dearest things he's grown close to. Other than other gifts the PTSD gang already gave him.

She's really skilled in sword fighting, showed through its collections of swords. Of any kind. It's more than a simple hobby, since there's some cases in which she depends on those skills in order to survive.

She also Is pretty well at creating small objects, though it keeps It away from even those close to her, to not seem "weak" in their eyes.

Lyva📙-

She does have many fears, due to having a negletful family and little to no actual friends to rely on.

One of these things Is also fire, due to a traumatic incident where she got scolded purely cus of something even her couldn't control, and accidentaly got burned on the meanwhile.

The burned scar Is now all marginalized and basically almost cannot be seen, but it's still there, on her arm.

That's also part of the reason she doesn't wear much of "open" clothes.

Another one Is High places, but that more of an irrational fear of It. There's a couple of other more but id rather not make this too long either.

Naexi⚛️-

They aren't currently searching for a relationship, but if she could, she'd ask for someone "weaker" than them. To both being able to protect them, because of what happened in the past with Eris, and to have much control over them.

To be in power of something more than their dolls. A sentient being to obtain.

She still will give their s/o time for themselves, a but the power difference will remain as they want to.

She'll also search for compassion in that regard, even if they think they don't deserve much, for this point.

Myst🎸-

He's mostly fine with It! She's pretty touchy herself too, so getting hugs, pats or anything they're comfortable will goes absolutely amazing for him.

He's pretty uncomfortable with sexual intimacy, and as for emotional, she'll still struggle whether he has platonic or romantic feelings at times,

So he'd rather prefer a normal friendship. Even tho Lyva exists now so it's a big fucky

If the way lichens are named is based on outdated information, do you know what ways of renaming them have been proposed to bring them more in line with current knowledge? I imagine naming them by just listing the component species would get unwieldy VERY fast.

yeaaahhh exactly, that’s the main problem. the only major other thing ive seen proposed is the theory that the ‘real’ name of any given lichen is it’s common colloquial name, because the way it exists to us just like, walking in the woods or whatever can be encompassed under said name, but as you can imagine that’s a more philosophical take on it.

here’s my take, aka ‘what i would do if i suddenly got spontaneous control over all of lichenology’. basically i feel like there’s a few major things that need to happen before we can even start reliably identifying what’s in the lichens themselves.

to start out, the distress, as i see it, is coming from this idea that we should have to know all the given components of a lichen just from the name. the philosophical idea above tells us why this is impractical: if everyone knows the lichens by a certain name, and all the keys are meant to provide identification down to a certain name, then it really, really seems like we should keep the names on a general level, because the names themselves are doing their jobs; you go to an herbarium and you can find a group of lichens that look the same, but may not have the exact same morphological features and may not test ‘correctly’ on certain chemical tests, indicating different yeasts or something similar.

meanwhile, the yeasts themselves are…weird. the researchers in the paper found out about the presence of yeasts essentially by accident while trying to figure out why two otherwise identical lichen species (Bryoria fremontii and Bryoria tortuosa) had radically different levels of vulpinic acid; there were papers before that did genetic testing, with no explanation as to why they were so radically different. these researches hypothesized that it was because of different genes being expressed, and did more genetic testing (specifically a transcriptome-wide SNP analysis for those interested) to find that yes, both lichen species are indeed genetically identical– but they were telling the computer running the analysis to search only for known lichenized algae and fungi species. once they expanded the analysis to produce results for any fungi species detected in the samples, they found out about the yeasts, and realized that more yeast seemed to equal more vulpinic acid.

i tell this extended story because it raises crucial questions about how we identify lichens. these researchers did an extended battery of genetic testing to determine the yeast species in the samples, but in functional lichen identification that happens everyday this is like….so far out of reach it’s laughable. when we identify lichens in the herbarium we plop em down on the lichen bench and follow through a dichotomous key, and the tests include things like ‘drop bleach on the thallus and if it turns a certain color it’s X species and if not it’s Y species’ and ‘look at the lichen under UV light and if it glows a certain color it’s X species and if it doesn’t it’s Y species’. the color lichen thalli turn under these conditions indicate different levels of certain chemicals, or the presence or absence of certain chemicals, and often the key will tell you what chemical is being indicated, and will direct you around depending on the results.

the problem with this is that not all lichens test positive on all chemical tests all the time. it’s a regular thing to have a lichen that like, 400% looks like a certain species but fails a chemical test and is labelled as another, slightly different species instead, and likewise it’s common to have lichens labelled as a certain species that have different chemical test results.

if we’re working off the assumption that the basis for these minute differences is the species of yeast in the lichen, then we would have to decide– ‘we’ meaning all lichenologists as an academic field, i suppose– whether or not the yeast actually matters, or if it’s entirely conditional. for example, take the infamous Bryoria fremontii and Bryoria tortuosa riddle above. in this case the yeast was like, the answer, and the crucial question then would be, ‘are these the same species but in different forms, or are these two different species differentiated by the species of yeast?’. if it’s the former, then hell, identifying the yeast doesn’t matter, and we can just lump them all in and say that the darker color is the yeastier form or w/e. if it’s the latter, suddenly we have the question of what the chemical tests that have been standard for years actually mean: are they yeast tests??? which yeasts make which colors??? does it change depending on the lichen?? does it matter, if the keys can stay functionally the same??? are we splitting all lichens up based on their yeasts?? what’s happening???

my solution, theoretically, would be this:

1. we keep the names. just keep them. everybody knows them by the names, all the herbariums have them put in place with the names, etc. yeah lichen names get changed all the time bc of taxonomy discoveries, but it’s sure as hell not practical to just like, do away with all the current names, no matter how weird the archaic fungus-first model is to begin with.

2. we figure out how to identify the yeasts, whenever and wherever they are present. preferably this can be done with a low-cost dropper test or something similar to what’s already normal for lichen ID. best case scenario, this means just finding out which chemical test results can be associated with certain yeasts reliably, i.e. ‘x species of yeast produces vulpinic acid, and when exposed to bleach on the thallus of this lichen the vulpinic acid turns a certain color, and if it is that color then i can know it’s not just the chemical itself that is present but that x species of yeast in the lichen is the cause of that chemical’.

3. we get in the habit of writing down on the labels of samples which yeasts are found through said methods. what this would turn out, i have no idea; if we start finding like, 80 kinds of yeast per set of herbarium samples, we’d be in deep shit, but if it’s a simple matter of finding out that half the species in the herbarium have different yeasts from the sample next to them in the box, that would be a little easier to handle.

4. as for fixing the fungi-centric naming issue as a whole: i propose, again, that we keep the names, and instead find some way of indicating easily which combination is present. this, as i have it in my head, would be pretty cumbersome and would probably need a lot of revising to actually be practical, but if lichens are as diverse on a microbiological level as we’re finding out they are, then a flexible coding system would be best. like a dewy decimal system of lichens. we write out all known symbiotes into a chart or put it in an excel program or something, associate a number with each symbiote, and then just put them together, we could come out with a specific number for describing a lichen based on it’s components, in addition to the name, like so:

[FUNGUS #] - [ALGAE #] - [YEAST #] - [BACTERIA #]

001 - 020 - 2384 - 2

if the lichen doesn’t have a yeast or a bacterial symbiote, it just gets omitted:

001 - 020

if there’s a second fungus, then the two fungus numbers get put together:

001/004 - 020 - 2384 - 2

if a species in unknown, it gets the code 000:

001 - 020 - 000 - 2

a lichen that can be keyed to a genus but not a species has an asterisk next to the unknown numbers:

001 - 020* - 000 * - 0*

is this an incredibly convoluted system? yes. does it solve the combination problem, hypothetically? maybe. possibly. who knows. it would be useful in finding lichens with a very specific combination easy to find en masse in a database or something, though.

I get to talk about Bubby!!! Hell yeah

Why I like him: dude’s cool and fun and goofy!! I didn’t think I’d like him when I first started watching HLVRAI bc I hadn’t really looked too deep into his character but over time he just grew on me ,, I think it was mostly the way he delivers his lines it’s so fucking funny and I found myself rewinding constantly to catch jokes I missed

Why I don’t: sometimes he can detract from the vibe of certain scenes sometimes but honestly that’s half the fun of his character tbh,, he sees Gordon having a dramatic beat and just waltzes right up to him and complains about wasting time and wanting to go home. Iconic.

Favorite scene: THE BETRAYAL!!! It’s super tense but the “i didn’t tell them to do that” is so genuine that I laugh every time. He’s just like,,, “oh. alright. kinda fucked up, but what can ya do.”

Favorite season: he has so many good moments in act 1

Favorite line: “yeah, ya fucked up, Gordon, what the hell?” (THE DELIVERY KILLS ME)

Favorite outfit: the man has One (1) outfit in canon but whenever someone draws him wearing either weird ass mismatched clothes or his Old Man Sweater it makes me smile :)

OTP: I don’t engage much w shipping but i love cheering on other people’s ships!!! absolute kings out here writing a happy ending for this grumpy old man and I am Here For It

BrOTP: Him and literally any science team member is EXCELLENT but Coomer’s the obvious pick (also boomer is. the best possible name for them it’s so funny and so fitting)

Head canon: I’m really proud of that one bit I wrote about his room in the RV AU and some of the ideas from that have wormed their way into my canon interpretation too shgshdhd,,,, anyway I feel like under everything Bubby’s greatest aspiration is to be a regular human being. He grew up in a lab surrounded by faces and prying eyes and voices that spoke about him as if he couldn’t hear. He has a lot of weird abilities due to the Tube(tm) but he hides them because he resents what they represent. They’re a monument to everything different about him, living proof that he’s not like normal people way deep down. That’s why he doesn’t use his pyrokinesis openly (I like to think he only does it when there are other explanations), and why he gravitates towards Coomer so quickly. Coomer is odd and eccentric and very clearly inhuman in some respect and yet no one in the group ever thought to second-guess his humanity. Coomer isn’t ashamed of himself, and as they grow closer he helps him overcome the shame associated with his stranger traits and maybe learn to feel proud of them at times. Bubby always wanted to be normal, but it wasn’t until he met the Science Team that he realized that “normal” was a thing you established for yourself, something that changed and grew as you did. He’s already normal to them. They’re all normal to him. And that can be enough.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t like when people give him a flat “I’m going to be a bitter asshole and not listen to reason to create drama” plots in fic :( like sure he is very good at causing problems but there can be so much more to it ,,, give his antics TEETH make em representative of a deeper character

A wish: I hope they focus more on his character and backstory in future installments!! I wonder what he’ll act like now that the science team knows he’s from a tube and also met the prototypes

PLEASE don’t happen: pls don’t make him betray the team again let him have his stupid crime family

Aiden: for him, it’s just the headcanon that he is A Dad (tm). ik its simple, but the thought of him telling dad jokes, taking care of his bois, and just being that cool casual father figure makes me v happy ^^

Roo: his is split??? but it’s either him having freckles, being easily flustered, or acting like a literal cat when faced with little scraps of stuff a cat would play with

Evangel: i... don’t really have favorites for her, tbh. tho it’s prolly the fact that she’s attracted to cold stuff. prolly cuz it’s a polar opposite (hehe puns) of what most people associate with safety (aka warmth)

Berimont: the reason he’s so against dark magic, even though he needs it to eat, is because he’s been unable to see it as anything but destructive and horrible, hurting all that’re involved in it. it’s deep and important to him.

Mara: prolly her venomous tail! which has had exactly no action, ik, but the fact that she’s got poison just... good. in a devilish sort of way.

Blaize: they’re a hothead with a good heart, but that hotheadedness gets in their way, and makes them do stupidly reckless things sometimes. even if it is cool, they’re gonna need to learn from that rashness!

Clancy: grump with a heart of gold. jus the idea of him being snippy and :/// normally, but turning into a fawning softie once u know how to butter him up makes me happy ;w;

I know I am poison to you folks now, because I refuse to swallow the blue pill that is being sold to us, and just shut up, but this is something I have been following for years, and partly why I hate and will always fight RM. yes, I have an agenda, but it is not against D or C or their relationship, whatever it might be either now, in the past, or in the future, or their careers and how and with whom they “choose” to work, or for what reasons, although I am allowed to be disappointed, at what seems to have transpired, and express that. What mature and knowlegeable adults do in pursuit of their careers is their business, IF they do that of their own free will, without blackmail or coercion, but children and youth should be protected, even from their own naive ambitions. Others in this fandom that have been dumped on lately, unfairly IMO, saw this quite early on, as well, and were very troubled by the association, especially for C, who had seemed to make an effort to break free from the worst effects of this group, having seen and suffered enough. Co/ry, who had suffered a troubled childhood, and was still struggling with the same demons and being victimized because of it by RM, seemed to support C in this, being present behind the scenes when C was “outed.” But something, or someone, pulled C back in, perhaps and most likely unwittingly, perhaps thinking they could control the situation they had both been thrown into. Bless his heart, love is hard sometimes, people are sorry they cause suffering to those they love through the mistakes they make. The heart wants what it wants.

I first noticed C’s melancholy when he was Esquire’s Man of the Year for his birth year, for their huge Anniversary Issue, and he expressed some very dark musings that seemed to reflect something going very wrong. After that, I soon saw C, with W, at a fund-raiser for Pus/sy Ri/ot, hosted by both Emmer/rich and Sin/ger. the rumors were already out about the two and their underage parties, and it troubled me to have C there, openly, with W, smiling and mentioned in their article about the event, with photographs. This was a children’s book author, with suspected child molesters, willingly being photographed, and C’s team would NEVER let that happen. So, why did it? Because C ALLOWED it, for some reason.

D’s latest movie director Em/merich is a close friend of Sin/ger, also, as is RM. They host and frequent the same “parties” for up and coming young “actors,” often arranged by MM, with the help of all those he hustles. I think this is the way the “gay mafia” does business, after watching this “pattern” for so long. CH pretty much confirmed it, when he came out, and others in the industry have said it made life even harder for all these closeted actors in “Camp Podwall” or in connection with these power players, instead of better, after that all came out. CH would not shut up, he thought things would change, if people would listen and respond in strong measures. But it didn’t work out that way. The whole operation clamped down even tighter on their people, and ramped up their abuse, as punishment for anyone daring to step out of line so openly. D and CH had a confrontational conversation during that time that CH was so troubled, or so it appeared in one series of photos they shared at a fashion shoot.

The rule of thumb seems to be you pay if you want to play, the older folks in power call all the shots, they shape your career, who you connect with, how and why, what parties you attend, and with whom, what roles you take, and when, or they blackball you out and shut you down. If you play the game, stay in line, you are “allowed” to progress in the industry, move up the ladder, gain power and control over your own life and protect your loved ones life, but it’s a rough ride. It’s a control game, all the way, vicious and dangerous. The folks at the top (Gef/fen, Dil/ler, their close associates, with RM moving up with his latest deal) are just too rich and powerful to be brought down, it seems, although Sin/ger, MM, and some other more well-established actors seem to be in danger of exposure and ruin, one with a new movie coming out this holiday season. Thes higher ups will protect them until they can’t, then cut them off rather than go down with them. An expose story with a major magazine seems to be in the works, again, but it appears to have been slowed, if not shut down completely. This could topple some big names, and could have forced some gay bigwigs into “playing nice” with some of their people to keep things quiet. But fandom and social media, with their spending habits supporting their shows, concerts, movies, artists, was always an unpredictable and uncontrollable curbing agent and pushback against these folks, and somehow, through paid social media bots, they have been able to mostly shut us down, too. Like the free press, we have been severely compromised, using various tactics, much as they do their actors, in order to control us.

There have been lots of blinds lately, you can believe them or not, but they explain a lot of questionable things I have seen since 2012 with MM, his parties, and his small group gatherings, well-documented with photos, of Glee actors, including Co/ry and Ma/rk, Har/ry and Ch/ord, as well as D, during Glee, around Hollywood and NYC, at London locations, foreign tropical locales, and showing up in Washington, D.C., with his “parties” during the Washington Correspondent’s Dinner. He and EP are very close. There are other Camp Pod/wall regulars, such as J.C. Cha/sez, and my warning sirens go off around them, too. Recent rumors connected D romantically with JC, in his early years in Hollywood, and C with RM. those were not removed, as any good PR team would do, such as C’s. I know C has admitted more than once that 2012 was a very difficult time for him. His second book was written that year, and reflects that mood.

Whenever I see MM, or EP, around either of the two, or RM or Goopchuk, with them, it creeps me out. The worst was one photo, maybe during Hed/wig? MM has D in a tight hug, and he is grinning, although I would call it leering, and directly addressing C, using his name in the text, as in, look what I have here. While lots of folks in the fandom saw it as a confirm, and cute, and those in the other fandom saw it as a rebuke, here’s the real star, D, you are not so great, C, I saw it as a threat to C. Don’t make trouble, don’t make waves, do as you are told, or someone gets hurt. So, yeah, if you take the red pill, these are all crazy talk, and ridiculous, when we just want to be happy and like things and be fans. Most folks do not want to go that deep, and it is easier and a lot less scary to just call people like me crazy. But we once had a part to play that posed a threat to those powers. Those people have mostly left the fandom, shut their eyes and swallowed the cough syrup, or yes, became fierce C stans, because he seems to be a fighter like us. I love D, he is amazing and talented beyond belief, but I would walk through fire for C.

I think you might be right that they are using these two and KM, allowing two “out” actors to use their social media narrative to push back against the “forced closeting” rumors, and using them to “clean up” their image, and protect the predators. But perhaps a mutually beneficial deal HAS been negotiated, by D and C, and KM as well, who knows all the Gl/ee secrets, as all parties know too much, and have some leverage there. But these are very bad people, criminals, surrounding them, forcing their hand, using them in many cases and involving them in suspect activities, and while I will continue to support these two every way I possibly can, I cannot and will not add to the cheerleading, praise, financial support, and widespread whitewashing of these awful people and their projects with D, and C if it comes to that, thus allowing them to continue unabated and unrepentant. People brutally burned Ma/rk for his dark side, but these guys, because they are powerful and influential, are okay and get not just a pass, but a love fest, from the fans? Hell to the no.
