My favorite Chloe OTP! On the surface, Chlonette might just look like your basic cute crackship or possible redemption/reformation story for Chloe, but thanks to this Chlonette server I'm in (with these awesome people I might add), Chlonette is a lot more complex and has more layers than you think. My reasons for shipping it are a possible Chloe redemption/reformation, Chloe can of course treat Marinette better, enemies to lovers (though in my case, it’s enemies, to hesitant friends, to friends and THEN to lovers), they generually look interesting together, and Chloe already has (or did have) a crush on Ladybug, so that's to assume if she had an crush on Ladybug, she might be her type.

Also, before S4-5, I saw Marinette (other than Miss Bustier, Sabrina, and possibly Adrien) being really the only one who truly understands Chloe. I feel that Mari being Ladybug is more prominent when it comes to this. Also, I feel that Marinette and Chloe are a lot alike when you really think about it when you take away their different upbringings. People dislike these two together for obvious and understandable reasons (the way Chloe canonically treats Marinette, Chloe's a bully, Marinette gave up on Chloe etc.), but I personally think it has potential (or at least it did, until canon/Astruc ruined it).

Adribrina isn't a bad ship. Two friends of mine got me invested in this ship (and it also comes from the fact that I also ship Lukabrina). From what I’ve gathered, people ship because it’s “cat and dog” shipping and the lack of interactions these two had in the series. So basically it completely resonates from potential, which is understandable. I also think it would be a bit interesting to see these two interact.

Sorry. I know it’s a copout, but I legitimately feel REAL indifferent on Bustier right now. Her teachings at first came off as wholesome and understandable, but once you really look into it, not only she’s an enabler to Chloe’s bad behavior, but throws her actual good student under the bus and doesn’t even bother to take up for her against Lila (Ladybug episode). Then later ends up throwing Chloe under the bus too once she starts to “finally understand Chloe’s true nature”. Which I GET the intent behind this, but I don’t like it because SHE’S one of the many adults who enabled her in the first place, but now she wants to give up on her!?

“BUT Chloe got her fired even though she’s pregnant!” It doesn’t matter? I’m not trying to sound cruel here (because that really is messed up), but I just think as the grown adult who choose to enable Chloe and gave her the benefit of the doubt (compared to what she did for her other students btw), does she really have the right to bail on her now??? I’m not trying to sound insensitive or unsympathetic of Bustier’s situation, but I just think it’s not all on Chloe. I don’t think Miss Bustier is a bad person, but some of the stuff she does is seriously questionable.

I didn’t necessarily “hate” Andre in the past, but now? He’s a corrupt politician and a bad father who gave up on his own daughter AND replaced her with a girl who’s not even 💯 his. I also hate how he’s somehow more sympathetic than the 14 year old girl who he failed to raise property. It’s so dumb that it’s constantly said that Chloe is “evil” because she doesn’t want to lose her privileges, but who GIVES HER those privileges in the first place??? So that automatically falls on her PARENT.

So, my thoughts went down a trail last night. I was thinking about OC’s, and the shitshow that would happen if canon got ahold of them, and from that came some ideas. I come to you with a prompt for a fanon ‘Talking with Thomas’! Here goes: Our baby boi Jesse is getting intro’d in an episode! YAY! But then they read the script. And let’s just say, Myvan and Jesse are NOT happy. The basic premise is this: Jesse decides to confess his feelings for Mylene during a rehearsal for their latest play, and Ivan happens to be there to witness this, and gets turned back into Stoneheart.

Here are a few things they have MAJOR problems with:

Jesse clearly not respecting Mylene’s relationship with Ivan, springing a confession on her out of nowhere(maybe the script even has him try to kiss her)

And the fact that the show still pushes him as being a ‘Nice Guy’

Mylene being Adrinette-level oblivious to Jesse CLEARLY flirting with her even before he confesses

Ivan being treated like the bad guy in the situation, with it being framed as him getting akumatized out of jealousy, rather than completely justifiable anger at Jesse’s lack of regard for Mylene’s feelings.

Jesse never apologizes to either of them

Jesse: (knocks on the door frame of Ivan and Mylene’s trailer, all smiles) Hey guys, you ready to go over the script?

(He looks confused as their faces fall.)

Jesse: Is... something wrong?

Mylene: Uh, yeah. Jess….we read over the script and it’s…

Ivan: It’s not good.

(He only now realizes that Ivan looks like he's going to kill someone, and so does Mylene. He begins looking at the script.)

Jesse: Ok, so it's got writing issues. But hey, this is my big break! I'm sure it can't be so ba-

(He stops as he begins to read through it, his face getting more and more aghast and pissed.)

Jesse: WHAT THE FU-

(We cut to Thomas Astruc sitting at his desk playing with Ladybug and Cat Noir action figures.)

Thomas Astruc: (Pretending that they are speaking to Queen Bee) "Take that you vile bitch! You're worse than Hawk Moth" Pow pow!

(Jesse and Myvan enter the room as he frantically puts the toys away.)

Thomas Astruc: Ah, Jose! Millenium, Igor! You must've gone through the new script! Pretty cool, huh?

Mylene: (Under her breath) That’s not even a name!

Jesse: Actually, sir, we had some problems we were hoping to discuss with you. And it’s *Jesse*.

Thomas Astruc: Problems? There shouldn't be any problems. This is one of our best episodes yet.

Ivan: *Raises his eyebrows* Sir, can we go over this episode from beginning to end so that you understand how each and every minute of this thing is wrong?

Thomas Astruc: Whatever, I don't have anything else to do today.

Mylene: Okay, we’ll start at the beginning. Why am I suddenly Adrien-level oblivious?! Jesse’s clearly trying to flirt with me all throughout the first scene, and not once do I call him out on it, or point out that he should know damn well I have a boyfriend!

Ivan: Not to mention that you even have me thinking about wanting to beat him up for flirting with her! I'd never do that to my best bro!

(He hugs Jesse.)

Thomas Astruc: Well, it's because Mylene doesn't expect anyone besides Ivan to flirt with her since she's... let's just say... not conventionally attractive?

Jesse: Okay, one! Mylene is gorgeous, ask anyone here! And I mean that as her friend, so don’t get any ideas. And two, there’s a difference between ‘protective’ and ‘possessive’.

Ivan: And I should be protective seeing how the Jesse in this script is a total creep to her.

Mylene: And when my teddy bear tells me about his concerns, albeit in a very ooc way, I brush him off as being jealous! Not to mention Marinette, the Girl Squad, and the boys treat HIM as the bad guy!

Thomas: Well, he’s letting feelings of jealousy get the better of him and friends are calling him out on it!

Ivan: Then have someone explain to me that while my feelings are valid, I should not go about it in such an aggressive way. I'm a gentle giant, not a toxic brute!

Jesse: Exactly! And I’m seeing some serious double standards here! So, Adrien can feel jealous from time to time, but if any other guy does, they’re villainized!

Thomas: Well, because it's destiny for him and Marinette to have gotten together!

Jesse: Destiny my tiny ass! He told me it's because it's main character syndrome!

Mylene: Speaking of which, in the show you have Stalkernette giving the speech at the end to Ivan about not letting jealousy dictate your actions. Marinette cackled when she saw that in the script, she couldn't believe it.

Thomas Astruc: What's wrong with Marinette teaching Ivan a lesson? (They look aghast.)

Ivan: Because she regularly does insane and borderline if not outright illegal things based on her insane jealousy over Adrien!

Thomas Astruc: Yes, but now she's dating him. And she had good intentions.

Mylene: That is so dumb, but we've got so much more to unpack. Next up is the confession.

Thomas Astruc: Let me guess, there's something wrong with this as well?

Ivan: Jesse, I'll let you go over the whole thing.

Jesse: (Takes a deep breath as he pinches the bridge of his nose) Oh my god, where to begin? First of all, why does this scene even need to happen? Why do I tell her my feelings for her out of nowhere, and during a dress rehearsal, which would likely put huge stress on her and affect her performance! It shows that I have total lack of regard for her feelings and needs, and reaffirms that I have NO respect for her relationship with Ivan. God, the way it’s worded is so cringe! I sound like a total creep! And the icing on top of this shit cake….the attempted kiss. What. The. Fuck.

Thomas Astruc: Because you were too swept up in your neverending love for Mylene! To you, it's the only thing more important than the theatre. Isn't that romantic?

Jesse: HOW IN GOD'S NAME IS THAT ROMANTIC?! It's selfish! I wouldn't stress out one of the best actors we have with a proposition for her to have an affair or break up with Ivan.

Ivan: And how the fuck is it romantic to try and force a kiss on someone?! But no, the reason I get akumatized after seeing this is because I’m fucking jealous, not the fact that my girlfriend was almost assaulted!

Mylene: And that's another thing! Why didn't Ivan get treated as having a sympathetic akumatization, since we know you wouldn't write him calling the police on Jesse for trying to assault me.

(Thomas gives them a exasperated groan.)

Thomas: Oh, come on! It was just a kiss and she pushed him away! What’s the big deal?

(Ivan is about to pummel him before controlling himself.)

Mylene: Seeing how you never had Felix apologize for assaulting Marinette while pretending to see Adrien, I suppose you don't have any idea on how it feels for a woman in that situation.

Jesse: Yeah, or how what I did was morally ireprehensible.

Thomas Astruc: Fine! We'll change it so that you get akumatized.

(Jesse looks wary)

Jesse: Go on...

Thomas Astruc: We’ll have Jesse get akumatized instead because he’s mad about being rejected! He’ll go after Mylene and Ivan, and we were planning on give Gene a miraculous, so he can be a new hero that gets introduced! Is that better?

Jesse: First off, it's Jean, and second of all, shouldn't he get his own episode where he's the focus? Otherwise it just comes out of nowhere!

Ivan: That's what I said for Penalteam.

Mylene: Not only that, Jesse doesn't apologize at the end of this script. Would you make him apologize if he got akumatized?

Thomas Astruc: Oh, they'll just sweep it under the rug. We'll even have him continue to flirt, it'll be hilarious! People will make compilations of Isaac being protective, it'll be great!

Mylene: That's even worse! It shows that he learned nothing and still doesn’t respect me as a person! And again, being protective is one thing, but you have a warped view of that. Wanting to beat someone up or threaten them to ‘stay away from my girl’ is dangerous and toxic. It makes it look like Ivan doesn’t view me as anything more than a possession!

Ivan: In fact, I'm even worse than in Origins. Now, Mylene's my girlfriend, and I kidnap her again! She didn't even do anything! Not only that, this time I literally crush and destroy anyone who even goes near her. And I tried to kill Jesse! Friend or not, I'd never murder, I'm no yandere.

Thomas Astruc: Ladybug and Cat Noir will just cure everything, so you won't have any casualties. Problem solved!

Jesse: That doesn’t mean the trauma isn’t there! It’s been established that people remember what happens even after the cure is cast!

Thomas Astruc: Well, then it'll be a reminder to Jesse to stick to flirting instead of kissing, for Ivan to not get so worked up over harmless actions, and for Mylene to stand up for herself.

Mylene: I didn't accept his advances!

Thomas Astruc: Ah, but you didn't reject them, proof that Jeremy is perfect for the new love triangle now that Adrien and Marinette are together.

Mylene: (Gives him the mother of all death stares) If you have me even consider cheating on or breaking up with Ivan, I swear to God!

Thomas Astruc: Oh we won't. At least, not on screen. Do you think that you're really that important?!

(He laughs as Jesse smiles, pulling out a phone, pressing the stop recording button.)

Jesse: I think that's all we needed. Right guys?

Thomas Astruc: Wh-what are you talking about?

Ivan: You think we were really going to go in here and get an explanation without making sure the public knew what was going on? Sure all our points were valid, and what you said was disgusting, but we certainly did some rehearsing of our own.

Mylene: (Smiling cutely at Ivan) Me and Jesse always had a knack for acting, didn't we?

Jesse: And now, people will know your whacked view on sexual assault and toxic behavior. And that you don’t care about the background cast.

Thomas Astruc: Y-you can't do this to me! I'm your creator!

Mylene: That doesn’t mean you care about us! Now maybe we can get the reboot we’ve all been pushing so hard for with someone legitimately competent in charge!

Jesse: Fans are more than willing to pick us up. And there's new independent studios. Weeby Productions, Sparky Studios, Artzy Line, all with better pay, and more attention.

Thomas Astruc: You'll be nothing without me. Nothing!

(The three kids get up and begin to leave.)

Thomas Astruc: I’ll make sure you never work anywhere again! I can have you blacklisted!

Mylene: So long, Asstruck.

(They slam the door on him.)

Ivan: God, it felt good to do that!

Jesse: Oh, have you guys heard the news? Weeby Productions and Sparky Studios are actually coming together for a lot of cool projects! I think they’re calling it ‘WeebSpark’. I’ve read some of their pitches, and they seem awesome!

Mylene: And Artzy Line! Gabriel tweeted about it. Soon enough, we won't even need Zagtoon.

Jesse: You know, some may call this cringy, but cringe culture is dead, so screw them! Ivan: And... since Miraculous Ladybug is now on Disney Plus, I hear that we'll be getting some episodes from the multiverse that are pretty... heroic? Maybe a few that are villainous? (Wink wink nudge nudge.)

Mylene: Not to mention some monstrous multiverses as well!

Jesse: I’m just glad this is all gonna be over! So long, Thomas AssFuck!

(They cheer and walk off. Ismael walks in and smiles at the camera.)

Ismael: Yeah, this a plug. Deal with it.

I’m taking a semi-hiatus

(LINK TO THE MASTERPOST)

The last few days weren’t the best for me, and I understand I went way too far with my criticisms of Adrien. While I felt like I needed to make my points clear, I am fully aware that my own personal bias got in the way, and in a way, made me no better than Astruc himself. I just feel like I need a little break from all the negativity surrounding the stuff I talk about.

This isn’t the end, however. Something I’ve been thinking about these past few months is starting a different sideblog focused more on tokusatsu, something I’m just as passionate about, and a topic I can be more positive making posts on. My plan is to start that side blog and run it for a few weeks to maybe a month or two, and hopefully by then, I can be in a better state of mind to talk about Miraculous Ladybug again.

Of course, you might have a few questions floating through your head about the future.

"Can you specify what you've genuinely regretted saying in the drama?"

Mainly just how hard I’ve been on Adrien and his fans compared to Marinette, showing some double standards on my part.

"What will be covered on your new sideblog?"

Tokusatsu shows. I’m still working on the specifics of it, but my plan is to cover stuff like Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, and Ultraman.

"Will things beyond tokusatsu be covered there as well?"

Probably not. Maybe I’ll review a Precure season or two there, but tokusatsu is going to be the main subject there. It’s just something I’m a huge fan of.

"Will Miraculous Ladybug be mentioned there on occasion or do you wish to keep it out of the blog until further notice?"

I might make a passing reference to it here and there (the current Super Sentai season also has a black animal-themed hero who’s unintentionally kept out of the loop, so there’ll probably be jokes there), but I’m not going to make any serious criticisms or potshots against the show.

"Are you still going to follow new episodes of Miraculous Ladybug during the hiatus or will those be avoided as well?"

I’ll probably keep up with them to take notes on before I come back, but I won’t outright be avoiding them.

"Will your inbox still be open?"

It will. When I come back, I plan to go through any asks I get.

"Will this mean that the Season 4 rewrite will be delayed?"

Unfortunately, yes. I’m sorry to anyone who was looking forward to it, but I feel like this is for the best.

"Are you sure you'll be able come back to doing IOTA? When or if the hiatus ends, what do you think you'll do with both blogs?"

I’ll probably focus on longer-term projects for the sideblog, like reviewing longer shows compared to the episode-by-episode reviews I do for Miraculous Ladybug.

"Should we do something about this debate you've gone through? "Shouldn't we call out Adrien fans for this?"

Please don’t. This was clearly my fault for snapping, and I don’t want to blame anyone for this. I made this decision based on snapping at Adrien fans, and I don’t want anyone else to make the same mistakes I did.

Just to be clear, this isn’t goodbye, and I’m not running away. I just need a little time to clear my head so I can be better at covering this kind of content.

You know what time is it? TIME TO SAY SHIT ABOUT MIRACULOUS, YEY, so without winding up let's go, today I'll talk about the Mari chat episode of this season, the ninth episode of miraculous season 5 Elation

We start the episode with Ladybug being the biggest simp in the world to Chat noir and he just being a dumbass thinking that was just a test, I can already say this episode is gonna be great! (But ngl Chat noir being extremely stupid took a laugh out of me, maybe I’m the stupid one )

Also Ladybug asks if he has a girlfriend and he says that less they know about each other better, but just some episodes later they are happily talking about how now they’re both dating so… w h a t ?

Chat noar tries to transform in a random allay but comes a fan to harass him.

THAT’S WHY YOU SHOULDN’T TRANSFORM IN PLACES EVERYONE WALKS BY, FIND AN EMPTY BATHROOM, IN YOUR HOUSE, IN A GOD DAMMIT FLOREST, JUST DON’T DO IT IN AN ALLAY, I imagine someone passing through then ladybub hides behind a tree and just being wtf?

Adrien then detransforms in a rooftop, I’m telling you, the day those two reveals to the public who they are at least half of the city will be like “yeah I already knew” because omg.

Adrien then sees Marinette’s house and decides to activate his simp mode.

The scene then cuts to Marinette complaining that Chat noir is taking his job as hero of paris seriously? Marinette, Marineta, any other name Astruc wanted to give you, W H A T ? CHAT NOIR HAVE THIS THING OF NOT TAKING THINGS SERIOUS, HE IS IMATURE, DON’T CARE IF THERES PEOPLE DYING IN THE STREET OR NOT, AND WHEN HE FINALLY REALIZES THAT EVERYTHING IS BAD AND TRIES TO ONCE BE A GOOD HERO YOU COMPLAIN? LOOK OUTSIDE WOMAN. SHITNARCH HAS EVERY MIRACULOUS, YOU ARE LUCKY THAT HE DIDN’T TOOK YOURS AND YOU PARTHNERS MIRACULOUS TOO, GABRIEL IS ALMOST A GOD, actually he IS A GOD, HE HAS THE GOAT MIRACULOUS, HE CAN DO ALMOST ANYTHING, YOU ARE LUCKY THAT GABRIEL IS STUPID, BUT WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF HE GROW TWO BRAINCELLS AND USE TO GOAT MIRACULOUS TO CREATE A BAZZILION FUCKING NUCLEAR MISSELS AND THREATENT TO KILL EVERYONE IN PARIS OR YOUR MIRACULOUS, THERES PEOPLE IN THE STREET DYING RIGHT NOW AND ALL YOU CARE IS THAT YOUR PARTHER IS CARING ABOUT THAT? WTF?

Adrien can be a simp, a dumbass, and be self-centered as heck, but he Is not as horrible as Marinette, so I give him that.

Alya then tells Marinette she is saying bullshit, thank you Alya, I couldn’t say better.

Alya then says that Marientte is just lying to herself and that Adrienette should happen.

that’s why I never know what to think about Alya, in the moment I think she might be one of the few characters that has brain cells she says this.

Alya: if you love a superhero you gotta know who is behind the mask, how else are you supposed to live a legit love story?

And I lose all the respect that I’ve ever had for her

Marinette: I’m NOT lying to myself and I know exactly how I feel.

Alya: right, which explains the pictures of Adrien all over your room.

Mariette: it’s never worked out with Adrien! Making gifts to him, planning his birthdays for the next 25 years, kissy kissy hamster, yeah right, Adrien was more like kissy kissy nothing! What is wrong with kissy kissy meow meow?!

The first time I watched this episode I was like “no way Americans say kissy kissy,” and I searched it up and I found out that yes, Americans do say kissy kissy, so I’ll give a point, not to the show, to the Americans. Because that's the funniest shit I've ever heard, Good job guys

The scene cuts to Adrien going to the Dupain bakery to talk to Marinette, Marinette parents then assume that he is in love with Marinette, Sabrine then for some reason calls Marientte even if her room is not that far away? Now even the non-important character has lost their braincells.

Marinette says she’s busy and that he is just a friend from school and she didn’t want to see him after school, first of: Marinette’s an asshole. Second of: no man, Marinette and Adrien barely spend any time together after school, its rare a situation where the one of them call the other to do something, most of the time they are just there and they happen to meet. I’m not saying I want them to be together, Marinette is a selfish hypocrite and Adrien is not much better, I’m just asking for some better writing, that the basic of the basic of the basic of writing teen romance, making they just hanging out as friends, BUT NOT EVEN THAT, THE SHOW DON’T DO THE BASIC!

Marinette then blows up in Alya, Alya then tell her to calm down and touch some gras- I mean, get some air.

The scene then cuts to Adrien being harassed by fans again, Sabine and the guy I shall not say the name apologize for their daughter being an asshole and give him some chuquetes, chouquetes?

Oh, thanks google, Marinette parents give Adrien some chouquettes and he leaves.

Plagg: you’ve got the pastries but not the smile, you just wanted to see Marinette didn’t you?

Adrien: everything reminds me of her Plagg, I can’t help it

Adrien: it’s gotta be nice enjoying pastries with the girl you love.

Adrien then gets harassed by a fan aga—

Wow that’s a lot of fans, funny how this happens just when the plot demends and every other ep anyone ever bothers Adrien huh? Funny.

Adrien then escapes the fans and transforms into chat noir, running away from fans becoming someone even more famous, smart.

We then have a genuinely funny scene with Marinette and Chat and we have those two morons being cute, for some reason seeing two sided marichat Is surprisingly funny and not forced, I don’t know why but this wat of Chat, joker and carefree yet not knowing much about life, works a lot with Marinette being selfiish yet sweet and her way of being, makes some really good scenes. I think even the worst of shows can have some nice moments sometimes, I need to say, good job writers, you surprised me.

But the writers ruin everything making the two say stupid things while almost kissing so there’s also that-

The scene then cuts to Alya and Tikki talking bout Marichat or Ladynoir being a Canon.

Alya: cmon Tikki it wouldn’t be the end of the world.

Tikki: actually, Alya the end of the world is exactually the kinda thing that can result from problems between the holders of the miraculous of creation and destruction.

Alya: oh, you’re over reacting.

OH, SO NOW YOU’RE ACTING IN CHARACTER TIKKI? YOU’RE 2 EPISODES LATE.

The scene cuts Maributt and Cat noar looking for Andre the ice cream man and Mari uses an app max created just for finding him.

is the show implying Max put a tracker on andre's ice cream cart? Because I think the show is implying that Max put a tracker on Andre's ice cream cart. Forget putting Marinette in jail for being a stalker, PUT MAX IN JAIL, actually PUT EVERYONE THAT WORKS IN THIS SHOW IN JAIL.

Marinette then proceeds to ignore her best friend in the world and the two idiots go to Andre's cart.

Andre: marinette and chat noir! What are you doing here?

Chat noir: we are here for joe mama that fat ass-

ok I stopped XD

Chat noir: we’re here for ice cream, unless you’re selling hot dogs now.

*Chat and mari laugh*

Show procedes to think joke is funnier than it actually is.

no I trust the writers of miraculous, probably in glacietor he thought marinette was aromantic, and in heart hunter he found out that know and discreetly asked if mari was dating adrien or Kagami, that was just some lgbt representation in a show passed in a conservative as heck contry. and to that I say good job guys.

Also when it was princess justice, it was dramatic, here it's just... Nothing, because in princess justice Marinette has Expelled, and everyone believed she was an asshole, she had lost her friends, She was going to have to change schools, And with a record of being expelled it would be harder for her to do anything. Her life was at the worst it's ever been, but here is just "oh my crush dumped me" so no one gives a shit.

Chat noir then apologizes for kissing her and marinette realizes what the hell she did.

Marinette: I was almost akumatized… you’re right, were both being totally foolish.

WHAT? YOU BOTH? WHAT? Gabriel then akumatized Andre because “the two teenagers I ship should date because my ice cream said" he then turns to glaciator 3 and Gabriel gives him the clout, Andre then proceeds to go kill Marinette for ruining ladynoir, forget about putting max in jail, PUT ANDRE IN JAIL.

Chat noir then hides marinette and her only and she calls alya to pass her location to tikki.

The scene then cuts to chat noir fighting glaciator but by the power of theres-still-8-minutes-left he fails.

Andre then DESTROYS MARINETTE HOUSE, WTF? PUT THIS MAN IN JAIL, THIS IS ATEMPT OF MURDER.

Marinette: oh, tikki this is all my fault…

Tikki: I’m sure you’ll make everything alright

Shut up tikki, idk why just shut up please, no really couldn't they choose a voice actress with a more annoying voice? this one is not unbearable enough.

Ladybug then transforms and go fight the big man.

With chat noir, glaciator is struggling to get his miraculous but when he almost go it, alya appears out of no where to say Andre was stupid, which is true, but even so andre tries to kill alya, that’s the character that was supposed to be the lovely ice cream man.

Andre then hears ladybug and because he is a sociopath, he proceeds to try kill her too. What a good character!

Ladybug and chat talk about he not being in love with her anymore and she accepts his choice.

Also chat with heterochromia is amazing ngl.

Monarch then tells glaciator that they’re hiding behind a building, huh good foreshadowing.

Ladybug then activates her lucky charm which is a big umbrella, and by the power of Girls-good-boys-stupid glaciator loses all his braincells (which was zero) and fall for the most obvious trap in the world, hero saying he gives up, and we have a butt joke….

If you excuse me, I’m gonna commit suicid-

Ladybug then purifies the akuma

Andre: ladybug and chat noir! Was I akumatized again?

Ladybug: yes

Andre: I’m-a sorry, is just that you make such a beautiful couple, but oh well, what matters most is that you’re happy.

When the heck did, he learn the most obvious lesson in the world? Just 9 minutes ago he was all “marinette deserves to die for ruining my ship” when did he learn his lesson? I think he learn it by the power of ladybub bullshit, yeah probably.

Ladybug then gives him a useless magical charm and fixes everything. Gabriel talks about exploiting chat noir’s feelings for Marinette but literally no one cares because he never does.

Chat then takes Marinette home make some jokes and we have platonic marichat.

Marinette then cry because of love; she didn’t grow up a little since season 1.

Adrien proceeds to be sad about love and, I don't know if you know but I like chat noir but hate Adrien, so I really couldn’t care less about it, also he gets happy to seconds later, and that’s where the episode ends

This episode isn't very good, it's not the worst but it's not good either, Marinette still this anoying selfish thing, and Adrien still nothing but an one dimensional simp, the villain was boring as heck, Andre still the same kinda sycopath ice cream maniac as he always was but now with less brain cells.

and really what the purpose of this episode was; to make Marinette not be in love with chat noir anymore.

But it wasn't delivered properly, it's the same case scenario as the rooster miraculous, it can easily be exploit.

Marichat wouldn't work ok, but what about ladynoir?

They see each other every day, they work together well, based from past episodes Marinette don't respect much if someone has a crush on another person, then what's stoping her?

Fear of being akumatized? Chat rejected her because she was in civilian mode.

Fear of being dumped out? This wouldn't stop Marinette for loving chat noir, it would just stop her from telling him that.

It was because of the moment that chat and ladybug talked about their feelings for each other? Marinette always runned after Adrien even if he said she was just a friend.

So what is stoping her from being in love with chat noir?

I'm general, I think what saved this episode for me was cat noar and Maributt when they weren't simping each other, they have a good quemestry what can I do? Well I'll give this episode a 5.5/10 put Andre in jail

Atz’lut v’ Ta’avah (8/?)

After Phoebus has been sulking alone in his cabin for a long time, the Captain is finally able to be allowed to speak with him. Phoebus now shares his story on how he and Guy are struggling with each other as brothers, starting off from the memories of his mother.

“Retroactively speaking, I knew what Maman caught. It was a great disease even today I am fearful of naming. I just knew it was reaching its tertiary stage by the time Guy and I were preparing for our bar mitzvah.”

“Say no more. I have a feeling I know what it is if you are fearful of speaking its name even today. I am guessing that if you did get doctors to assist her, they would use holy wood or mercury inunctions?”

“Yes, that is precisely it. Neither Guy nor I liked the treatments. Day by day, it was turning Maman into something she was not. And I feared it would become worse the more we did nothing about it.”

“I am deeply sorry those were the options of the time. I pray those doctors didn’t bleed you out of money you barely had any at the time for?”

Phoebus sniffs. “It was either those or food to feed us. Nothing Guy and I were doing was enough for both. Not to mention neither of us could hold a job longer than maybe a week. Either because of Guy’s temper or me just… not being a good worker at all. I always felt tired. I always just. Wanted to stay home and rest.”

“You were very young. You two were expected to grow up so fast, as well as to care for a little sister in addition to all this. At such a young age, you should be learning at your own pace while also enjoying your youth as children. I am so deeply sorry. So you tried to become a doctor? How old were you when you were admitted into the université? I’m assuming the Université d’Avignon?”

“Correct. It’s about a ten-minute walking distance from the Jewish Commune. I was fourteen. My rabbi made recommendations for me. He was the one who convinced me to study while Guy would work and pay for food and the doctors.”

“But that divided up your ability to provide at all. Students don’t get paid to study.”

“No. And it would take four years until I would officially become a doctor. Until then, I mostly focused on other general education. I was becoming extremely frustrated. I once tried to convince the professors to use my mother as a case study, but I was not taking those courses yet. Not to mention our status, our religion, our reputation in the community at all…”

Josep moves a little closer to offer a hand to Phoebus. This time, Phi took the courage to take it… and soon, he was embraced closely by his Captain.

Phoebus sniffs again, burying his face into Josep’s chest. “It was too much, Captain! Too much! Rabbi Astruc could only do so much for us. No one was willing to be kind. There were days when we couldn’t eat at all or afford the doctors. Not even in food or some other provision. We had nothing. And I just wanted to run away from it all and lie down forever.”

“I hear you, Phoebus. I understand you.”

“I was failing my classes, Josep. By the time I was getting closer to the courses that would introduce me to medicine, there were days I couldn’t just get up from the bed at all. I wasn’t being lazy, I assure you. I just. Couldn’t. At all. Guy can tell you… I would just lay there and cry nonstop. And by the time I would return to class, I would not be able to focus.”

“So naturally you would have to drop out. Something that would be shameful, I’m certain. Where did Guy come in? You said-”

“Now that I think about it… it wouldn’t have mattered in the end. When I told Guy that I was going to fail a critical class in the Université, for some reason, I was able to stay in despite not participating in over a month. And I would find out-”

“Oh!! Oh, no, oh no... He did the ‘twin switch’, didn’t he?”

“He did! And the professor caught him! The professor knew about the birthmark on my arm, and he knew I had a brother! All he had to do was ask Guy to roll up his sleeves like I usually do! And the absence of that birthmark on Guy’s elbow was all it took for the deception to be spotted!

“He did this on his own! Guy! Not me! I had no part in this! And yet the professor thought this was some sort of plan from the beginning! That I was cheating and dishonest and-”

“Phi.” Josep takes the type to raise his hands as a gesture for the younger man to slow down--not only because he is unable to keep up with what he was saying, but so he wouldn’t have to upset himself reliving a terrible memory. But even with Phoebus’ anguish, Josep can’t help but see something else beyond what he is being told. “It’s absolutely valid grounds to be expelled. Academic integrity or no, you were the one studying to be the doctor, not him. But besides all this... you know why he did it, right?”

“.............”

“Phoebus. Do you know why Guy did it? Your brother is smart, but an academic setting would be too rigid for someone like him. Besides the fact you are the older brother with more responsibilities, you are the one trusted to be the student for a reason. That is still one less son who could be caring for his mother and sister. Please don’t think about yourself for one moment, Phoebus. Think about Guy. Why would Guy take up your place while you are at home being crushed from the weight of expectations in the classroom?”

“.............N-no.... I don’t want to say he did it to try to save me. Th-that’s not like him....”

“So what is it? To deliberately sabotage your way to success? Do you truly believe Guy isn’t trying to help his family too? Or are you going to hold onto this belief that he is truly a layabout? I don’t know if you’ve ever considered this, Phoebus, and I am sorry to do this to you--but I need you to realize this: Layabouts don’t pose as their identical twin brother in an advanced university class for over a month in order to help him stay in school. Especially if the goal of being in school is to help their sickly mother.”

“............”

“It was over a month, yes? Over a month of posing as you so once you are ready to return to your studies, no one would be the wiser?”

“...............I wonder if he should have been the doctor…. The fact he passed those classes without taking the prerequisites first…”

“Not everyone is suited for academics. He has his weaknesses, and so do you. And yet if you two worked together, I am positive you would succeed in getting that degree with flying colors. Did he not help you study when you’re not on campus?”

“He…. *sniff* He did....”

“Like I said. He compliments you. Guy is far more supportive of you than you think. He can be selfish, yes, but he is selfish in the same way you are: he is simply trying to preserve his identity as his own person, not as just your brother. I genuinely never think he, for once, in the centuries we have known each other…. Would ever want to sabotage your way to success on purpose. Especially out of hatred or spite.”

“No. He wouldn’t. I know he chases away any woman I look at because he’s scared I’ll be walked out on like Pierre walked out on Maman….”

“There you go. See? He looks out for you. Just as you do for him.”

“But I’m not- .... at this moment I’m not-...”

“It’s all right. I know you are not ready to look for him right now. Just as Guy is not ready to come home just yet. Right now, though, I’d like you to eat. Can you come with me to my cabin, Phoebus? I assure you, we can be by ourselves for now.”

“I thank you, Cap- I mean, Josep. I’m ready to come out now.”

I love Marinette so much, it’s so nice to have a protagonist with anxiety because I have it too and so I finally have a character I can truly relate to unlike any other. I just wish the writer’s wouldn’t constantly humiliate her in the show, it feels like they make her into a butt monkey too often. But what I don’t like even more is when fanfic writers completely erase her anxiety, usually by taking away her crush on Adrien or giving her extra support as Ladybug which the latter is great and I love to see. But while I think it would ease her burden some, she would still have anxiety because it doesn’t just go away, if the current the stressors lessened, the anxiety would still find something to latch onto. I feel like there should be a balance where Marinette gets support but still has anxiety sometimes and gets help to get through it and stuff instead of taking it away completely. I think it’s so great that Marinette despite having enough of her own problems is always willing to go above and beyond for her friends and family and sometimes for people who don’t even deserve it. She has a heart of gold and truly there is no better choice for Ladybug, a superhero should be someone as selfless as her. Some say it’s unrealistic that she has so many characters with crushes on her but I think it makes sense when you see just what kind of a person she is, she is glowing with goodness and makes friends wherever she goes because she makes the world a better place. I really hope 12 seasons doesn’t happen because I don’t want to wait that long for Marinette’s happy ending. I really hate that Astruc said it’s a rule that she has to mess up and learn a lesson every episode, it reminds me of how the author of Sisters Grimm seems to hate Sabrina and gives her too hard a time even though it’s his own created protagonist. Why make a character you don’t like the protagonist of your series? I love Adrien but he seems to be the writer’s pet and Marinette the writer’s punching bag. I wish we could all buy miraculous from him and give Marinette better plot lines and treatment in the show. Sadly this would not change the saltdom view of her, sometimes I wonder if they are watching miraculous from an alternate dimension and that’s why their takes are the polar opposite of what Marinette actually is.

Sorry for the length but I wanted to talk about this to someone who would understand

I don't think they hate her, trust me when I was a writer I used to put my protagonists through more pain than even villains, just because I feel like doing it even though I LOVED them so much, it felt like they are my kids, but yes, I wish her anxiety is treated more serious at times. It's totally cool if some stuff are used as comedy but I wish they could talk about it or have Marinette talking about it sometimes, more seriously. Anxiety doesn't go away and it's not always something to make fun of. I just wish it's taken more seriously, I've seen a lot of hate like "ML writers constantly humiliate their characters and then expect us to take them seriously when they have a panic attack" which I don't understand. Humiliation is not when Marinette tripps and fall humiliation is when people at the train made fun of her genuine feelings when she was confessing out loud while writing the letter for Adrien. I don't find that funny when she is being made fun of for being in love. Also how is it hard to feel sorry for character if they did something embarrassing before that? How many times characters (protagonists mostly) run into a pole or do something cringy and later cry or panic or anything and you feel sorry because their emotions are genuine and the only way I couldn't feel sorry for a character is if I really hated that character or if a character didn't deserve the sympathy.

And I feel the same way as you about fanon Marinette. That's not our Marinette. Like "she grew up and she is dead serious now" doesn't work. She's going to be just a hyperactive as now when she grows up and she's going to talk fast and she's going to be insecure and nervous and simp on Adrien and all that. You can't just grow out of anxiety. This is how she is.

(Written for @flashfictionfridayofficial‘s prompt FFF173: No Rest for the Wicked. Not related to anything else I’m working on, so enjoy this little cyberpunk family moment!)

She wakes to a dimly lit room filled with the familiar scent of antiseptic. Despite all the technical advancements, one of the few that had remained was how the scent of antiseptics clung to skin and hospital clothes alike, despite the fact that it no longer stung the way bleach used to.

Her older sibling looks down at her, tapping their pen against the edge of their tablet. “It’s two thirty-four a.m. Standard Southern Time, your fool sister is currently downstairs making a new brace for you because she thinks it’s her fault you fell out a window. You can look at a list of your injuries over there because you haven’t ever listened to me when I told you to stay in bed for years and I highly doubt you’re going to start now. I recommend you stay still and rest for at least a month before returning to field work but again, you’ve never listened to me so instead I will tell you that there’s a cot for you in your fool sister’s lab and she’s cleared most of the fire-related paraphernalia away from that area. Any questions?”

“Nice to see you too, Soren.” She croaks out, testing her weight on her right arm. Said arm violently disagreed with it and made its disagreement well known. “In my defence, I didn’t expect to be thrown out the window and I did roll to try and take the impact off.”

“Yes, that’s why you’re not dead.” Soren says, still looking down at their tablet. “Consider thanking your partner for doing the paperwork. I’ve filed the release forms though I recommend you hold still.”

“Thanks, Su.” Her older sibling glares at her.

“I thought you said you would be more careful after you were done with all that revolution things.”

She shrugs. “I don’t see you scolding Aurum.”

“That’s because you’re not around when I’m down in the lab. It’s not like either of you listen to me.”

“Thanks, Su.”

Her older sibling glares harder but does help her into a wheelchair so she doesn’t complain too much.

The hospital corridors are glowing faintly with the clean fluorescent white that hurts her eyes. She tunes her hearing in, picking up on footsteps and the rustle of medical equipment and the chatter of other debriefs past the lobby. Technically speaking, she doesn’t need to give her reports as soon as she usually does but she tends to forget if she doesn’t do them immediately so it’s really just easier.

When they finally reach the basement where her sister works, the first thing she hears is her younger sister’s voice. “-theoretical principles of Astruc’s theory-“ “It’s obvious.”

The door opens with a tap of Soren’s card as her younger sister turns to the door, eyes wild. “Iris, tell Aurum that it’s important to understand theory-“ “It’s not.”

“To explain what you’re doing for documentation purposes.” Her younger sister jabs one painted finger at the window for emphasis. “And don’t side with her just because she’s your twin.”

“Twin rights.” Her twin shrugs. “Did the brace work?”

“Feels okay. Thanks.” She turns to Tori. “Did you ask Aurum to help you with your homework again?” “You make it sound like I’m in primary school.” She opens her mouth, before Tori picks up the paper covered in symbols and waves it aggressively. “Not all of us can just skip past school and get an honorary doctorate later under their famous pseudonym!”

“You can’t?” Aurum asks wryly, already fiddling with some metal thread thing again, the strange magnifying goggle thing attached to her eye. “I seem to forget that someone didn’t have any complaints when I held the electrical systems in the whole Agency headquarters hostage until they let someone move in.”

“And you wonder why people are scared of you.” Soren said under their breath, having been ignored by all of them present. They raise their voice to be heard over all the squabbling. “All of you, one at a time. “Welcome back from the Sea, Soren.” Aurum says, deadpan.

“Come back from the Sea, Soren. Never mind that down there, everyone respects me as the chief medical officer and actually listens. No, no, I come back because my sister writes to me to say she misses me. And then I do come back and what is the first thing I encounter? All my sisters arguing. About chemical enhancements to whatever that thing you’re doing is.” They turn to stare at the concerning black stain on the ceiling. “Most young women talk about cosmetics. Or the newest hologram technology. Or clothes. What do my sisters talk about? Chemical manipulation.”

“Well, most young women don’t have honorary doctorates for their contributions to the Internet Revolution.”

“And aren’t top of their field in the intelligence side of things!”

“I agree.” Tori says.

“No rest of the wicked.” Soren sighs. “Alright, get into the cot, you hellion. Don’t fall out of any other buildings.”

“I can make you a grappling hook? Or an inflatable thing so you don’t get injured the next time you fall out a building?” Aurum says hopefully.

“No. Falling. Out. Of. Buildings.”

“It was strategic!” She turns to her twin. “Oh the flamethrower works by the way.”

“I saw on the news.” Her twin replies. “It looks great in action! Most people think that it’s just electronics that’s the key but that’s why they don’t think about alloys and also, fire.”

“You just like fire too much.” Soren says. “I still remember how you nearly burnt down our first apartment on accident.”

Iris grins at her sister, matching glints in their eyes, not noticing how the oldest and youngest respectively look alarmed at that.

Well, it’s not like it could get better than purposefully situating themselves within a technological revolution, could it?

Chapter 1 - As My Heart Beats

Notes:

Hello! This is the first story that I have decided to share. It is after the finale of Ladybug and Chat Noir Season 4 Finale. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** Mention of child abuse, general graphic violence, alcohol use, mental health, basically, I have decided to put the characters through the meat grinder***

The Note

March 3, 2024

Dear Adrien,

When you were four years old, you fell off your bike. The defiant boy that you were, you had refused to buckle your helmet. Your mother was adamant that that was the day my hair turned grey. The whole night, I held your hand, desperately hoping your heart would keep beating. Never had I felt so helpless, or so guilt ridden. That was, until the light faded from your mother’s eyes. When you finally began to get back on your two feet, with each step I feared the image of your fall. Every time you were away from me, I knew that you might take off your helmet, or forget to look both ways before crossing the street. Nothing between us was ever the same after that accident. Your mother always fought to bring me back, to remind me that our lives were worth living. But I just wanted to keep us safe. When your mother died, any sense of control I believed I had was whisked away.

For years, I tried to protect the young boy who refused to wear a helmet, never noting the time passing. The young boy was growing into a man, who was forced to live with a shadow of his father. With a villain.

Through the eyes of an orderly, I visited you. The only indication that you were alive was your rhythmic heartbeat. The bicycle image no longer taunted me. Instead, I saw the terror on your face as blood stuttered out of your mouth, your eyes boring into mine. When you were younger, I felt at fault for not double checking your helmet. Last night, there was no question of fault. Each rasping breath was caused by my own hand.

I hope that this letter will help you understand, but I could never ask for forgiveness. There are no possible steps forward. Your letter was my last to write. My will has been finalised, and considering your eighteenth birthday is mere days away, I foresee no legal issues in the transferring of assets. If all has gone according to plan, Nathalie will hand you this letter. I understand if you want to dispel her from your life, but know that she saved your life. She may have stood by me, but she always fought for you. If she did not work with me, she knew that she would have risked her place within this household - which would have left you alone with me. Nathalie is the reason your heart was able to beat, and she will take your secret to the grave.

Now, I offer you the freedom you so deserve. Whatever you choose to do with it, know that I am proud of you. You stood for what was right, and fought someone who should have never been your foe.

The Recovery

“Good morning handsome,” Nurse Jacquie greeted Adrien with a glowing smile.

“Isn’t it frowned upon to flirt with your patients?” Adrien teased.

“Hey! If Olivier heard you say that he might wage war!”

“Oh I see, now it’s a battle for your love. I can do that.” Adrien smirked as he tilted his head to the side.

“Don’t be so confident, he may be 90, but that man can throw a punch!” She chortled while noting his vitals.

“Now, I know that I may be -dashing- but how are my insides looking?” He tried to dispel his discomfort through theatrical hand motions.

“Pretty good for someone who died,” her flat tone barely carried over her clipboard.

Picking at the adhesive on his IV he asked, “How much longer do you think I’m going to be in here?”

“Hard to tell Mr. Agreste, but we will keep doing our best.”

“I guess that’s better than nothing…”

“Also, Mr. Sadface, I heard you have some friends coming today!”

His face lit up as he remembered that Nino, Aly, Chloe, and Marinette would be coming. They had promised a belated birthday celebration. Though Adrien would rather celebrate his birthday with pants on, it would help to break the monotony of the white walls. As if beckoned by his thoughts, a soft knock tapped at his open door.

“Looking sharp Agreste!” Nino nearly shouted as he sped to Adrien's bed side. His shoes skidded to a halt as he tried to stop himself from colliding with Adrien’s wires with his outstretched arms. Awkwardly trying to fidget around the tubes, clearly confused on what he should do, Adrien offered a fist for him to bump. Nino breathed a sigh of relief as he accepted the friendly gesture. Once they had adequately faked the explosion on their fist bump, Alya hipchecked Nino so that she could greet the birthday boy.

“Holy shit Adrien,” she gasped, “How do you still look so good after basically getting hit by a freight train?” As Nino feigned a jealous pout, Alya tried to push out her memories of her last hospital visit. Under the pretence of the Ladyblog, she had checked on the civilians that had been injured in the battle. The hospital was so overcrowded that staff had come in on their days off to provide care in the waiting rooms. The air was thick with the scent of iron and the sound of children’s cries. There was only so much Ladybug’s Lucky Charm could fix. Leaving a bittersweet taste, the only injury that had nearly been fatal was Adrien’s. On her Ladyblog, she kept the comment on Adrien’s injury short, “the only civilian currently requiring intensive care is fashion model, Adrien Agreste.” Thankfully, Nino had not pried, assuming that she had gained her information from the hospital staff. In reality, she couldn’t shake the memory of Adrien’s limp body. His marred face contorted around the breathing tube that had been forced down his throat. Considering the tension Nino was already enduring, and the guilt Marinette held in her heart, Alya chose to keep her burden to herself. No one could understand the degree of her relief in his current state. He truly resembled an Angel. Trying to hide her wavering strength, Adrien cut through the ice with his iconic humour.

“Do I really look so bad that everyone needs to boost my ego? Should I be afraid of mirrors?” Adrien half-heartedly joked.

“No!” Marionette piped in as she walked through the door. “You - oh my- seri-ah- how? Beautiful.” She instinctively slapped her forehead.

“See?” Nino gestured to Marinette, “you’ve left Marinette speechless!”

Alya refrained from a sarcastic comment, not wanting anything to seem as an attack on Adrien’s state.

“It’s good to see you Mare,” his sparkling green eyes resting upon the girl reddening at the foot of his bed. She instinctively pushed out the double chocolate cheesecake that Sabine had specially made for Adrien. Hovering the cake, she kept her eyes closed, blind to the fact that he would not be able to reach it without disconnecting himself.

“Here,” a calming voice rumbled from behind Marinette. He grabbed the cake from her hands and set it on the bedside table. It was Adrien's turn to become speechless. He hadn’t expected Luka on this visit. Normally, he could coolly hide his reaction, but his heart monitor began to give him away.

The screeching monitor seemed to prove Luka’s suspicions that Adrien would not want him here. Hiding his discomfort, he chose a corner to rest in. He would never want to make him uncomfortable, but he had to take the opportunity while he had it.

Uncomfortable with silence, Alya began to loudly recap what had occurred since his hospitalisation. She could be using the speakers from the concert on Luka’s family’s ship, the Liberty, and Adrien still wouldn’t have been able to hear her. He was too distracted by Luka’s fingers tapping against his black ripped jeans. The viper was normally so calm, this rare demonstration of a nervous tick pulled Adrien into a trance. Was he forced to be here? Maybe he and Marinette were back together and he was here only out of duty. Did he actually want to see Adrien? The last thing he wanted was to be the one who made Luka shrink in his chair.

“Can you even believe that?” Alya awaited a response from Adrien.

“Hmm?” Adrien's eyes snapped to her, finally breaking from his trance. Luka couldn’t help but notice that Adrien's heartbeat started to even out the moment he looked away from him.

“Boy! You are so like Marinette! Chloe and Sabrina! Sabrina got fed up and finally walked out. Now Chloe is so behind on everything that she couldn’t come.” Alya quickly recapped the story he had missed.

“Serves her right.” Marinette grumbled.

Adrien sighed at the negative connotations. He was blatantly aware of the vicious acts that Chloe had committed against his friends, but he was also forced to be aware of what they did not know. Losing Sabrina must have shattered Chloe. Sabrina was one of the only people, besides him, that Chloe let see under her mask. Chloe had likely used the excuse of assignments to avoid Adrien’s gaze; he had a way of breaking through her shell.

Performing his protective best-friend duty, Nino swiftly changed the subject. “Dude, wait till you see what I got you!”

For the first time since a flat tone had resonated through the rushed hospital, he felt alive. When he had first opened his eyes, the bleached walls convinced him he had passed. Surprising as it may be, a floating god of destruction spouting sarcastic comments regarding Adrien’s code blue was not a convincing sign that he had survived the battle. Adrien honestly believed he was in hell, trapped in isolation and controlled by machines. It didn’t help that as much as the Kwami cared for him, affirming adoration was not in his repertoire. Unless, of course, there was cheese involved; the Kwami would be sure to share his love when he learned that Adrien had hidden him a piece of cheesecake.

Gushing his appreciation, Adrien snuggled in his new blankets while waving his knit slippers. “Thank you so much guys, you didn’t have to do all of this.”

“Dude, there’s no way I would pass up an opportunity to miss your idiotic smile in little slippers,” Nino lovingly quipped.

Luka raised his eyebrow at Adrien. Beyond wanting to witness Adrien’s childlike smile, he knew the Prettyboy honestly believed that he didn’t deserve this. Luka was barely granted a second to appreciate the knit slippers before Adrien’s green eyes bounded towards him. Taking a calming breath, Luka stood to his feet. He tried to ignore the quickening beats echoing through the room as he pulled the small gift out of his hoodie pocket.

After seeing the thoughtfulness of the other’s gifts, Luka debated even giving him the gift. They came together to warm the room, whereas Luka’s gift held a selfish tinge. He knew as he had taken the book off the shelf that he had picked it in hopes that he and Adrien could have something to talk about, anything to break the ice that lay so thick between them.

Not only had Luka’s presence been a shock, but Luka being there with a gift was nearly enough to give Adrien a heart attack. Breathlessly, he watched as the tall blue haired man stepped towards him. The package was small, heavy, and badly wrapped in old newspaper. Luka knew when he wrapped it that there was a chance it could appear cheap and poorly thought through but, unbeknownst to him, Adrien immediately noted that the wrapping design was from Luka carefully ensuring not to tape over the puzzles.

Returning to tapping his jeans, he watched as Adrien continued to inspect the wrapping job. His rhythmic tapping helped to keep him from collapsing in shame on the floor. Adrien’s fingers gently picked at the tape, finally indicating to Luka that he appreciated the additional entertainment. Carefully placing the newspaper separate from the wrapping paper, Adrien ran his hand along the book's cover.

Before Adrien could have the opportunity to reveal the transcription on the first page, Luka forced himself to speak. “It’s one of my favourites. I figured you could use some entertainment in here.”

Even though Luka was controlling the urge to bolt from the room, his voice still sang in calm notes.

“Yeah, thanks! It uh - the isolation here kind of reminds me of home.” Though his words were meant to lighten the mood, they released the cold reality which they were all aware of. Sensing the shift of mood, he went to flip the cover, sending a surge of panic through Luka. His tanned fingers were quick to pull the book out of Adrien’s wired hands. To decrease suspicion, Luka grabbed the other gifts and activities that were strewn around Adrien. He gently set them on the bedside table, and used the clearing of wrapping paper and dirty plates to step away from the bed.

Tuning into Adrien’s melody, with his heart monitor as the metronome, a shiver of awareness hissed down Luka’s spine. The increased pace may not be related to hate afterall.

Once everyone had left, Adrien eagerly grabbed for the book that Luka had gifted him. The Wars by Timothy Findley. He had never heard of it, but was enthralled at the chance to learn more about the mysterious Luka. As he read the inscription, he understood why Luka had seized the book. Short on breath, he ran his fingers along Luka’s penmanship.

Thudding footsteps echoed towards his room. “What’s going on?” Nurse Jackie panted, her face stricken with worry.

Flipping his hair up to meet her paled face, he became aware that the heart monitor was sending off an alert.

“Uh - nothing - just… surprised.” Adrien tried to calm her with a forced grin. Considering the crinkling of Jacquie’s face, he imagined that his smile reflected that of Kagami's robot smile.

Listening to her steps fade away, he once again pulled his attention to his books cover page.

Dearest Adrien,

This book helped me see the world a little bit differently. Heroes and villains cannot always be so easily defined.

I know you are facing a war in yourself, fighting battles that it seems no one understands. If you need someone to speak to about this life, or your other, know that you can reach out to me. Even the strongest cats need a lap to lay on.

Analyzer - Félix Graham de Vanily (Miraculous Ladybug)

Better known as the former Chat Noir and, in my opinion, the best character in the entire MLB show.

Trigger Warning: This analysis contains rants and fangirling concerning the show Miraculous Ladybug, its characters, story elements and scrapped ideas. If you are unable to handle such content, please move on to a blog that caters to your interests rather than reading my thoughts. I want to keep things as civil as possible here.

You have been warned.

With the airing of the Miraculous Ladybug Season 4 Episode 9 - Gabriel Agreste - MLB has brought back one of the most significant and intriguing characters of the show - Félix Graham de Vanily. However, before I dive into his importance, I’ll give a quick background on his character.

For those who don’t know, Félix was conceived as the main character and partner of Ladybug in the short-lived Miraculous Ladybug PV, when the show had been drafted as an anime adaptation and the main characters, Félix and Marinette (later renamed Bridgette by fans to avoid confusion between the current show and the PV!Verse) had a completely different dynamic than Adrien and Marinette. Unfortunately for PV!Fans, his character had been dropped in favour of Adrien, as confirmed by Thomas Astruc himself.

Despite Astruc’s insistence that Félix wasn’t an interesting character, even going so far to call him an ‘anime cliché’...

...the fans of this character, myself included, believe that with some work, he could’ve made an amazing character with a lot of depth added to him. Having him being cursed by the Ring of the Black Cat to experience bad luck until it is removed by a kiss from Ladybug is a rather unique idea and I was disappointed to see it being scrapped. Fortunately, Astruc gave us writers his consent to do whatever we wanted with him.

So, accepting the fact that Félix won’t appear anywhere outside the Miraculous Ladybug PV, it was quite a shock when I heard that he would make his debut in Miraculous Ladybug Season 3 Episode 23 - Félix. I was quite excited for him to appear, but at the same point, I was afraid of how he would be written, especially after finding this Q&A:

To keep it short, Astruc went from calling Félix an uninteresting character to outright saying how he is pure evil and doesn’t deserve to be loved, which is... a bit disturbing. The messages left by Astruc imply his growing hatred for a fictional character who was embraced by people who simply wanted to enjoy the potential stories with him.

This is also reflected in the episode Félix, which feels like the writers were after Félix’s blood by trying to write him as unpleasant and ’’evil’’ as possible, his actions ranging from deleting the messages Adrien’s friends sent to him and insulting them while disguised as Adrien to attempting to kiss Ladybug and being punched for this.

While none of this is acceptable (especially the attempted kiss), I can’t say any of these actions made me hate Félix. As a matter of fact, the whole episode just reinforced the idea that PV!Fans are not allowed to prefer Félix over Adrien and that Astruc is going to fight tooth and nail to make sure that Sunshine Boy comes on top while Grumpy Cat is abandoned by everyone.

He failed. Miserably, I might add.

Starting with Astruc’s comment about Félix being an anime cliché, that probably being the Broody Boy to Bridgette’s Gentle Girl, with the addition of Jerk With a Heart of Gold, I have to note that, in comparison, Adrien is also an often-used anime cliché, that being a rich Spoiled Sweet kid with a strict parent who has no social skills and is a Clueless Chick Magnet. Trust me, I’ve watched enough anime to recognize those tropes from miles away, so saying Félix is a bad character because he’s an anime cliché has no merit here when Adrien is in the same situation.

Next, Adrien has been created because Félix didn’t make for good stories. While the creative process can be a huge roller-coaster, and replacing one character with another isn’t unheard of, this issue could’ve been easily fixed - character development. Unfortunately, this show is allergic to consistent character building and gradual character development.

Something I have noticed about Miraculous Ladybug is that there is very little, if zero character development, especially with the main characters, as there is barely any difference from how Marinette and Adrien act in Season 1 and in Season 4. Their dynamic is still the same and the more negative and toxic aspects of it had only been strengthened (for example, Adrichat’s obsessive pursuit of Maribug and his constant disrespect towards her boundaries). Not to mention the show’s greatest example of neglecting character development - the case of Chloé Bourgeois, who instead of growing out of being a bully was declared irredeemable by Astruc and replaced by Zoé Lee, a character who appeared literally out of nowhere and who can be described as ‘Chloé, but if she actually were nice’, which is quite disappointing.

Why am I mentioning this? Because the same thing that happened to Chloé happened to PV!Félix. Instead of working on his character and developing his dynamic with PV!Marinette, the writers took the easy way out by just replacing him with a character who is already perfect. Don’t believe me?

I’ll repeat it for the people in the back: ’’Adrien is perfect... he’s not flawed. The world is.’’

This is a problem on so many story-telling levels, one that many beginner writers make - creating the perfect character, one the universe caters and who can do no wrong is how you get a Mary Sue (link to Overly Sarcastic Studios on that topic), the bane of every writer.

To quote Red: ’’We are supposed to accept at face value that they’re the most interesting, most important character in the story, because that’s the starting point of their character. Not their backstory, not their motivation, just how invested we’re supposed to be.’’

In the case of Miraculous Ladybug, the story focuses mostly on Marinette, but what does Marinette focus on? Adrien. When it isn’t about the Miraculous lore, every episode somehow shoves Adrien into it and the story is derailed in favor of the Love Square. Even Astruc himself notes how the lore and the goal of defeating Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth is the B-plot.

I will add this, the idea of a show revolving around a love story reminds me uncannily of Twilight, which in turn glorifies abuse, toxic relationships, stalking, co-dependency, emotional manipulation and deception, lying, murder and suicide, and other topics I’m not comfortable talking about (and all in the name of love). If you want to read a more about this, here is a link to a detailed analysis of the Twilight series written by the sporker das Mervin, assisted by other sporkers. However, I consider Twilight to be worse in that aspect than Miracuous Ladybug.

Moving on, the final claim that Astruc presumably wanted to be the nail in Félix’s coffin - calling him evil. It is a claim that I cannot take seriously, especially when he said something similar about Chloé, ranting how she’s irredeemable, then writing her as unpleasant as possible in Season 4, despite what we had seen previously, notably that she was the victim of emotional neglect and abuse, and had potential to grow into a better person.

As I previously mentioned, Astruc’s opinion of Félix and those who like his character is reflected in the episode, most notably by showing him to be a deceitful manipulator who tries to make Adrien look bad in front of his friends, causing an akumatization, mocks him for doing everything Gabriel says, and makes a move on Maribug.

*leans back while crossing her arms, furrowing a brow as she eyes the audience*

Here’s the issue. Instead of making me hate Félix, it showed me that Félix is the most competent character in the entire show and that we should root for him, while at the same time showing that Adrien really lacks empathy.

For starters, we learn that Félix’s father had died recently and Gabriel and Adrien didn’t even bother to visit their in-laws, and while this can be excused in Adrien’s case, since Gabriel is an established jerkass who wouldn’t let him visit his cousin, I didn’t get the impression that Adrien actually bothered to call Félix to support him. This is especially awful since he should know how it feels to lose a loved one, considering how many times he gets depressed and angsts over the loss of his mother.

Next we have Adrichat insulting Félix, which is quite infuriating: ’’You made a lot of enemies in one day, bet you don't have a lot of friends, acting the way you do.’’

Why is it infuriating? Adrien mocks his cousin, someone who is still processing the grief of losing his father (and also dealing with the loss of his aunt), someone whose only meaningful connection appears to be with his cousin (aka Adrien himself) and his mother, about how he hasn’t any friends despite the fact that Adrien too was going through the same experience. Also, there is the implication that Adrien probably knows that Félix doesn’t have any friends (and Félix’s expression confirms it), as they’re said to be close, which makes Adrichat look like a complete jerkass.

Not to mention, this can also be taken as a message to Félix fans, telling them how they should hate this character and how he doesn’t deserve to be loved. Honestly, I don’t like being told what character I should like, especially when the one who replaced him acts like a hypocrite.

Oh, and speaking of hypocrite - the infamous kissing scene. Again, I do not approve of what Félix did in that scene, but at the same time, I understand the deeper message it was trying to tell us, that being how PV!Marinette could never be with someone as awful as Félix, as this relationship would never work, and how Adrien would never be this pushy.

There is so much wrong with the latter statement.

Time and time again we have been shown that Adrichat has zero respect for Maribug’s boundaries, but we are supposed to hate Félix, who actually only went for the kiss because he knew that Adrien has a celebrity crush on Maribug and hoped he could mess with his perfect image further. Note that in Gabriel Agreste, he doesn’t even care about pursuing Maribug, but Adrichat won’t leave her alone during the whole season (even emotionally cheating on Kagami and genuinely wanting to get someone akumatized so he can hang out with Maribug). Also, for those who claim that Maribug would’ve punched Adrichat too if she actually wanted him to stop flirting with her, may I refer to the time she threw him into a trash can?

Also, a girl shouldn’t resort to physical violence to be heard. She told him many times ‘No’, but in Adrien’s head ‘No’ obviously means ‘Oh, she’s just playing hard to get. We’re actually soulmates.’

*shakes head in disgust*

Rest assured, despite those moments, Félix was a stand-out character in his debut, showing to be the most competent person in the entire show by managing to steal Gabriel’s ring, being able to handle three akuma, and even having the guts to make a deal with Hawk Moth, but under his own conditions. In one episode, he gets to do achieve his goal by using his own strengths and no magical powers, which is more than can be said for the main cast during the past 3 Seasons.

At the same time, we’re also shown that he has an incredibly wholesome relationship with his mother. Add in a rather sympathetic background and motivations, his mischievous attitude, his competence, the meta backstory of his character and you have a winner in my book.

This gets only reinforced in the episode Gabriel Agreste, which is my favorite episode in this show (albeit only after ignoring the Marinette-Chloé-Adrien Love Square shanenigans).

Félix shows his mischievous side again by pretending to be Adrien during his conversation with Chloé, which was genuinely funny.

He shows his intellect and craftiness by giving Gabriel a fake ring.

He also shows how much he cares about his aunt by just fondly gazing at her image, which says more than any of Adrien’s dialogue about how much he misses his mother.

He’s adorable! ^_^

And most importantly, he holds his ground against Gabriel Agreste, a character I despise the most in this show and I sincerely hope will get jailed for his crimes. Seriously, if a teenage bully is ’’irredeemable’’ by Astruc’s standards, what does this say about Gabriel?

Establishing their rivalry in Félix, this episode gives us more insight to why they hate each other, including a mind-blowing revelation - Félix knows Gabriel is Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth.

However, there is more to it - it is heavily implied that Félix is a Sentimonster, created for Amelié. Hell, one might conclude that his love for his mother is the reason why he is unable to reveal Hawk Moth/Shadow Moth’s identity by the end of it, as Gabriel would murder him in cold blood if he does and that the amok is in the Graham de Vanily rings.

This scene alone is one of the most intense moments in the entire show and it had me legit worried for Félix, as well as showed how menacing Gabriel can be.

Then, Gabriel attempts to akumatize him to get the ring back. Unfortunately for Gabriel, Félix won’t be manipulated by someone like him.

‘‘I don’t need your powers!’‘

This scene... This scene was absolutely amazing. Note that Félix had never been akumatized before, yet he manages to break out by sheer determination. He is a pure badass!

He then tops it off by breaking a button from his shirt and using it to rip the edge of Gabriel’s dress pants, then runs away, well aware that Gabriel is pissed off.

The battle against SentiCollector is your typical akuma battle (and reveals how Gabriel got the charm he was holding in Dearest Family, which I predicted in a discussion with a friend), leading to the ending where SentiGabriel gives Félix the fake ring, i.e. the same ring Félix gave him earlier claiming that this was the ring he stole.

The ending itself has Félix confirm that Gabriel was indeed HM/SM by showing that the latter didn’t have the damaged dress pants.

In conclusion, Félix Graham de Vanily is the most competent and sympathetic character in the entire show and this episode alone proves it.

He is the sole reason why I keep watching it, as everything else in the show frustrates me to no end. I consider Miraculous Ladybug a show with great potential, but a lot of its potential is completely wasted, which is sad to see. As a matter of fact, I’d rather take any episode where Félix plays 3D chess with Gabriel and outsmarts him than have to sit through another Love Square episode where someone comments how Maribug and Adrichat are meant to be and the universe itself forces them to be together instead of respecting their choices.

Still, I am worried.

Because, what are the odds Gabriel that would just murder Félix by removing the amok?

I'm cancelling majority of Season 4 of Miraculous. INSTEAD...

Oh my gods, I just saw the trailer for 'Hack-san' and I AM SO ANNOYED RIGHT NOW!!!

As far as I am concerned right now, I will accept SOME parts of this season.

Telling Alya? Questionable but okay

Luka getting to know? This will help them in the future cuz Luka is awesome.

Chat getting sidelined? Heartbreaking but okay fine, I'll take it.

ALYA BECOMING LADYBUG? BITCH NO.

This show is about Ladybug and Cat Noir- Marinette and Adrien.

For me, Season 4 right now is gonna be Chat being heartbroken cuz wtf man, his lady is being distant as fuck. Being Chat Noir always gave him a sense of freedom, but now he feels more and more like Adrien as Chat as well, trapped and useless to everyone around him.

So my dude goes and tells Ladybug that he can't do this. It's too much and she has Rena Rouge, Carapace and the others to help her. He is not important anymore, so it'll be fine if he gives his miraculous back to her.

Ladybug is shocked. She never wanted this. The main reason she was staying away from Chat is because of all the mental damage she suffered from Chat Blanc, because them being close, them being in love, basically destroyed the world.

So she sits there and she listens to her best friend (cuz Chat is her best friend, not Alya, fight me Thomas Astruc) say that he is gonna leave her, and she just kinda freezes.

Chat being Chat, sees this and goes to her being like, "Milady are you okay "

and before he finishes, he sees that she is basically having a panic attack and she's not breathing (duh. The number of expectations this kid, YES KID SHE'S LIKE 14, has is heartbreaking and she's been bordering on Anxiety and Depression for too long) and has tears streaming down her face and Chat immediately goes and hugs her and helps her through it (Imma stick to the 5-4-3-2-1 technique cuz its been effective for me).

After that happens they finally show some vulnerability to each other, and Ladybug finally tells him about Chat Blanc and how she's basically traumatised because of it.

Chat is heartbroken.

He never thought that him loving Ladybug could have such drastic consequences, and so he asks her if she wants him away. She could choose another Chat Noir, but this time so the fate of the flipping world doesn't hang in the balance, and after like a few more hours of opening up to each other, they decide that Ladybug and Chat Noir will always be Ladybug and Chat Noir. Best friends, partners and each other's solace.

Nothing else. At least until Hawkmoth is defeated.

And so they both go home, and Marinette is finally at peace cuz her partner is her partner again and she doesn't have to do all the unnecessary crap of having new superheroes in every new episode.

Adrien on the other hand is defeated as fuck. My man is so sad and he doesn't know what to do. He can't talk to Nino about this, he can't talk to Alya about this (they're just not that close, honestly) and he doesn't know what to do.

So, he bribes Plagg with a wheel of Camembert and transforms before going to the one person he trusts as much as he trusts Ladybug (3 guesses who lol)

Marinette is a little surprised to see her partner less than half an hour after having a huge talk with him. Of course, Chat doesn't know that and he just wants a friendly face who he knows will listen to him without an ounce of judgement.

And so Mari invites him in for passionfruit croissants she definitely made for Adrien that morning and makes them both comfortable in her room.

And then Chat talks.

He talks about how alienated he felt, he talks about how scared he is and he doesn't stop talking to Marinette until they're both just wrapped around each other, asleep, leeching off of each other's warmth cuz getting up to take the blanket was just too much work.

In the middle of the night, Plagg detransforms and goes to the other Kwamis to look at these two dumbass kids, who have way too much weight on their shoulders.

As the sun rises, Plagg (after being told by Tikki to 'be subtle for fucks sake, Plagg') gently wakes Adrien up, and Adrien leaves a note for Marinette, thanking her for listening to him, and leaves again.

And then, they go about their days as usual. Go to school, fight Akumas side by side, with a little extra help from Rena Rouge and any other hero, but people in Paris can see that it's The Ladybug and Chat Noir team once more.

And at night if the two heroes spend a little extra time together, as Chat Noir and Marinette, then nobody knows about it.

ON THE OTHER HAND, Alya is getting a little annoyed (just like we did with her lol) and straight-up asks Marinette what was the point of telling her all this if she was just gonna use her as a sidekick and Marinette (who has a lot more confidence considering during day time Adrien boosts her ego, and at night Chat does it) just goes "cuz you are a sidekick...? Your job, along with every other hero I give the miraculous to is to help Chat and me." (is this a little OOC for Mari? I don't care lmao)

Alya bristles and goes on to make a series of bad decisions to prove that she is vital to the tram, but she only adds a lot of drama smh.

OKAY BACK TO CHAT AND MARI. Gods they are SO in love. These two fools really do friends to lovers properly and cutely. Mari unknowingly gets over her crush on Adrien, and develops one on Chat instead, never realising that she fell in love with the same idiot.

And Adrien? Gods, he doesn't know how he never SAW Mari. Funny Mari who always beats him in Videogames and always gives him the best food (cuz gabby is a dick and doesn't feed his son enough) and gives the best hugs and always comes to every single tournament of his to cheer him on and laughs at all his puns and talks to him every night until they fall asleep together, either in each other's arms or over the phone. (If you think Adrien didn't get another phone just so he could talk to Mari as Chat at night and to send her memes during his photoshoot, then you're lying to yourself, bestie.)

And so one night, they kiss.

And everything seems so, so right.

And then they both get an akuma alert so Chat has to go asap, and Mari quickly transforms to meet him. They get there, and Rena Rouge is there, but with different colours and Ladybug and Chat Noir are confused cuz you know.

This is their friend. Their ally.

And then Rena turns around and says,

"Hello, Marinette."

End of Season.

Ml Meta analysis: Adriens current absents, season 4 structure and theory on whats to come

Here I am back again with my endless rambling.

I'm just as worried for our cat son as everyone else (maybe even more) which is why I tried figuring out for my own sanity why he is so absent currently.

Upfront I wanna warn yall that I wrote this post in one rush this night and therefore had no time to do alot of editing. So things can probably get a bit more messy than usual but I tried to write it clearly, while writing 2 other ml essays as well. This is the one drawback of having so many episodes in such a short time, I have no time to write my posts x3 I had another theory planned for before Optigami airs but I don't think I can manage before tomorrow.

But let's not waste any more time. Grab a snack and here we go:

It's 2am right now but I think I just realized why Adrien/Chat Noir is being sidelined so much recently.

Sure, yes, it'll come into play in the very obviously set up Ladynoir drama later on but what I wanna talk about now is more the structure of how s4 is most likely written in terms of both Marinettes and Adriens side of the story. And then deep dive a little on why I think so.

You see season 4 is now reaping what has been built up from s1-s3, but this also includes that you have to take the time now to properly recreate the new possibilities out of the loose pieces of the broken status quo.

Seriously, season 4 has to handle and reinvent ALOT. The show got now officially announced to have 7 seasons, which is exactly the amount of seasons Astruc said they have story for. I couldnt find the official tweet from Thomas himself but I one from another source:

And now look take a look at the possible shows structure:

- s1-s3 was the first status quo and built up everything so now they can pay off after pay off while...

-... S4 is now the transitional season where the old status quo gets left behind as we work towards the new one.

-I have nothing to proof this of course, but in the same sense it would now make sense that s5-s7 where/are planned to play out under the final status quo. If I'm not wrong at first the show was under contract for 5 seasons, which would mean that after the transitional season 4 there was only 1 season of the final status quo for sure. Still, done right it could have been worth the wait. But this isn't where Miraculous will end. The show actually got the 7 seasons the creator wanted and THIS is how I think the long term plan makes the most sense. Nothing all too complicated but still hella effective in its execution.

But now back to our two main characters, because Marinettes and Adriens development are the two aspects that will raise the show to the intense heights of the s5-s7 status quo.

From s1-s3 Marinette was the active player but she was hardly involved with the actual PLOT of the show, since most of the plot and backstory of the show lies directly with the Agreste family. She only started to get her own plot when she literally created a new one by getting involved with the miraculous lore, because the closest Marinette got to the Agreste plot was "The collector".

Adrien in the other hand was always literally right in the middle of the plot but he wasn't enough of an active player to bring us further either.

Season 4 is now going to add the missing parts for both of them and as the very beginning of the season showed us: there are going to do it SEPERATLY.

This is why "Truth" and "Lies" have been structured the way they are (One Marinette-centric the other Adrien-centric). Yes, Marinette and Adrien are meant to end their story victoriously together, but they are simply not the people they have to be to become such a powerful team. Certain aspects of their journey they have to do... basically disconnected from the other one. The "Miracle Queen" endcard shows it quite nicely as well where they are heading now: away from each other.

Obviously the season started with Marinette growing into her new guardian status including everything miraculous related, since she is the main lead and because the new ways the episodes can now utilize everything Miraculous need to be established first before we deep dive into the messed up Agreste mystery.

So while I totally agree that it is annoying to get so little Adrien/Chat Noir content currently I also understand the practicality behind it. As I said, before s4 Marinette was the active main character who mostly didn't really have her own plot. So now adding her plot aspect and have her ACTIVELY figure everything needed out means that right now Marinette/Ladybug is the active focus main character who is solving a huge part of her s4 character arc. That simply drowns out Adrien as the currently still mostly-inactive secondary main character who, yes, may be right in the middle of the shows emotional + villain plot/lore/backstory, but that side of the story simply isn't in focus at the moment.

And I gotta say, I'm kinda glad they're doing it this way. Because I'm gonna be honest, when the season starts giving us Adrien/family Agreste episodes like "Lies" and "The collector" (in this case "Gabriel Agreste" for example) again, I don't want the narrative to be forced to spend time with something guardian lore based just because they didn't took their time to do it earlier.

So, as we see on the s4 episode raster "Gabriel Agreste" is episode 9. Honestly, I expect most of it (especially the ones near the beginning, so ep. 5 included) til that episode to be Marinette based the way everything else til now did (besides Lies obviously and Guilt trip didn't hardcore focus on Marinette/Ladybug either and that's because it's after "Gabriel Agreste") in the spirit of "Truth". It's just the needed set up from Marinettes side of the story and I can live with that.

Because we actually saw the change after "Gabriel Agreste" already in "Guilt trip".

I don't know why some people pretend like Chat almost cataclysming himself after hearing how guilt-eaten Nino is for Adriens sake isn't a huge indicator that the episodes afterwards will not only acknowledge but also DEAL with Adriens/Chats situation and problems. Remember, we are talking about CHAT NOIR here not Adrien Agreste. The show has always portrayed and acknowledged ADRIENS issues very straight forward and with the proper seriousness (especially when it comes to his family), whereas Chat Noir was often mostly used for comedic purposes with some exceptions of his problems being properly delt with (since Marinette/Ladybug was mostly oblivious to them, since Adrien keeps them hidden so well). But now in "Guilt trip" LADYBUG was confronted head-on with just how much negativity Chat has inside and how quickly and extremely he drowns in it.

Sure, correct, the episode also has his negativity "washed away" rather quickly by Ladybug opening up to him on how important he is to her

But this is in character for both of them as "Lies" very clearly showed us that the way BOTH OF THEM behave here is where the problem lies. There Ladybug was freaked out after Chat threw his life away once again but quickly accepted Chats very direct avoidance of the confrontation, since he seemed to be alright to her.

Something I also find noteworthy here is that Ladybugs dialog is "Seriously, you need to stop doing this to me!", which is.... a VERY Marinette-centric way of acknowledging the problem.

It completely shifts the issue away from Adriens extremely alarming self-harmful/suicidal tendencies and instead only calls out how it affects Marinette (whose feelings here are definitely valid, don't get me wrong!). It showcases perfectly how unaware Marinette still is of her partners inner tumult at that point and also parallels how Marinette called Adriens life "perfect" at the beginning of the episode (This is no shade towards Marinette, in general the entirety of "Lies" is about showing us just how harmful Adriens Chat Noir persona actually IS to him so these two moments of her being oblivious to Adriens and Chats immense problems very much fits into that episodes narrative and sets up what's about to come. I still have an entire essay in the making for "Lies" but, guys, it's just getting longer and longer. I suck xD).

So the fact that an episode after "Gabriel Agreste" brings this scenario back, just a little different but ALOT more revealing of Adriens immense problems to his partner, is VERY telling. Besides other things it tells us that this happens at the beginning of the arc that deals with (at least) Chats issues since Ladybug is still way too quickly too ready to accept her partner as "completely fine" again just because Chat makes it seem that way (while some negativity increasing guilt bubbles still to stick to him.).

And yet, others have already pointed it out that Ladybug IS noticing what Chat wanted to do and reacted accordingly...

she just didn't speak of it the way it is because it overwhelmed her, which calls back to Ladybugs "You have to stop doing this to me!" dialog.( For a great breakdown of her dialog HERE is a link to @flightfoot post)

In "Lies" Marinette was way too stressed by her new guardian role to even consider Chats side of it and therefore only spoke of her own, but in "Guilt trip" she's already past that stressful arc. So here she is immediately able to recognize Chats suicidal action for what it is, come to his (much needed) aid and lift her partners spirit the best she can by emotionally opening up to him (which is something we KNOW is incredibly hart for Marinette).

The difference between her reaction in "Lies" and in "Guilt trip" shows that Marinette has her guardian role already mostly handled and is now mentally able to be there for others again, so the extremely Marinette-centric "Truth"-like episodes are mostly passed. Now the episodes can bring Adrien/Chat Noir more into the game again and even shift to "Lies" - like episodes because MARINETTE can pay more attention to him again and isn't faced with something new, important and overwhelming Miraculous related every step she takes.

And THAT is extremely fair from a narrative standpoint.

I really need to stop elaborating so much on these posts because I'm only NOW actually getting to the point of where Adriens journey will disconnect for a while from Ladybugs. Sorry guys.

Okay, to understand where I'm going with this I will have to quickly explain how I always saw Chat Noirs place in the Ladybug+Chat Noir vs Hawkmoth war ever since s1.

Because here is the thing: Adrien wasn't able to truly leave the battle field ONCE since the origins. Marinette was completely out of Hawkmoths and Gabriels reach once she detransformed, which balances out her basically being the personification of the good sides force. And Gabriel literally decided whenever or not the battle is even ACTIVE right now! Besides that he is in complete control of his own actions and environment, which gives him all the necessary time, safety and downtime he needs to act as the personification of the evil sides force.

Marinette and Gabriel always knew when they were safe and off the battle field, but ADRIEN never had that and it left him LITERALLY right in the middle of both Ladybugs and Hawkmoths sides.

You see, because before Adrien became Chat Noir he basically was part of Hawkmoths side just by default. He was born into this family, that's his father and lost mother and everything he knows. Adrien didn't/doesn't even have to KNOW that he is part of Hawkmoths side, he's his son at some level he just IS! And I'm not saying this as anything negative, Adrien coming from Hawkmoths side is literally the reason why he became Chat Noir!

Because whereas Gabriel is having the time of his damn life as evil terrorist, created out of tragic and sinister circumstances, ADRIEN on the other hand couldn't handle his families environment and very same circumstances anymore and accepted the role as Paris' hero to escape his heritage for a while.

Keywords being: a WHILE.

Something unique about Adrien I always loved is the fact that he is the villains abused, isolated and overworked SON, who becomes a hero to escape his depressing life and YET it was never Adriens intention to LEAVE IT. Adrien merely wanted to use his time as Chat Noir to let of some steam and breath freely while doing some hero work so he can go back into his civilian life and try to one day successfully ment his broken family. He couldn't handle the current situation anymore but he still always saw worth in his family/father. I have SO MUCH respect for that!

But him not intending to leave his family and instead regaining strength as Chat Noir to continue to hold onto it came with the downside of him not being able to fully become part of the good sides people/force either. Hence why Adriens/Chats place always felt so lost in comparison to Ladybugs and Hawkmoths clear positions. He's caught in between their extremes trying to balance out BOTH at the same time. What an impossible task!

So he couldn't put in the same focus as Ladybug into being the good sides force because he is literally burned out from his civilian life on Hawkmoths evil side. But he also couldn't be involved as an ACTIVE member of his fathers evil force, because he chose to find refuge in his friends and as a hero on Ladybugs side.

Adrien unknowingly is part of BOTH the shows two extreme moral sides of good and evil and this season we will see Adrien/Chat Noir grow into his own within BOTH sides as well.

Because he simply couldn't have done so right away in s1. Now after 3 seasons Chat Noir is more than solidly established as one of Paris Heros and his time with Ladybug, the other heros and his normal friends helped him greatly to find his place on the good side. "Lies" set this up as Chat Noirs arcs starting point that now he has to stop connecting "being heroic" strictly with following Ladybug (as Marinette is the STAND IN personification for the good side, she's still a flawed human being like everyone else and not the ultimate force of perfect and good. Big difference.) just as he has to start looking past his fathers sympathetic moments/qualities to see that Hawkmoth isn't a 100%, inhumane monster just because he is the stand-in personification of evil in their fight, but the man he calls Father and still needs to be taken down. (I talked about this in more detail on THIS post)

Adrien has to seperat himself from Ladybugs path and focus on his family and I believe it'll start with the much dreaded (but expected) Ladynoir fight.

Funnily enough, what I'm talking about was actually already set up in "Frozer" I just didn't remember that for a bit. In "Frozer" we saw Ladynoir having a fight which caused Chat Noir to go his own way in the episodes battle.

I always found it interesting that the episode didn't had Chats decision, to not follow Ladybugs lead here, turn out to be a huge mistake. Almost every other show would have done so but now I think I understand. This episode and s2 in general SET UP the s4 conflict, s3 LEAD UP to it and now s4 DELIVERS it.

So what happened in "Frozer" is a direct parallel to what about to go down:

Ladynoirs fight will cause Chat Noir to not simply follow Ladybugs side anymore the way he used to, but note, he DOESN'T leave the good side AND they make up again in the end after Chat saves Ladybug from the akuma. He just does things on his own because he isn't on great terms with her for a while. "Frozer" showed Chats decision to not only NOT be a mistake but also a necessary part of defeating the akuma, just the way it'll be in s4. Damn, Adrien breaking away from Ladybugs side, the way she (unintentionally tho) did at the beginning of the season, to focus more on himself and his family will be the game changing factor, when Adrien will have his completing arc where he goes from "not active character within the villain/backstory plot" to "ACTIVE character within the villain/backstory plot".

And we already saw with Marinette how many fast breakthroughs we get through these completing arcs. Which is also a reason for why Adriens/ Chats arc comes later in the season, because BUDDY. Once Adrien starts to actively uncover his families mystery and fathers secrets Gabriel is SCREWED! Adrien will gain the needed inside knowledge that complements Marinettes Miraculous power; and reunited they can take on whatever the hell kind of scale the Agrestes plan actually is.

So how to end this post? My biggest intention was to raise hope for everybody (myself included lol) who is right now very concerned and upset about how side-lined our boy is at the moment. But I prefer doing so in a way that actually works with canons context instead of sugarcoating what I don't like. And Adriens/Chats current position I definitely do NOT like but accepting it as realistic outcome from s1-s3 and set up for the escalation for both Ladynoir and his home situation gives it the proper purpose and pay off (narrative and character wise) that it SHOULD have.

Basically, the endcards of "Truth" and "Lies" show it perfectly.

It looks like ShadowMoth is turning a blind eye towards Adrien/Chat Noir because of Ladybugs new guardian status and "greater importance". But Gabriels tunnel vision on Ladybug will leave him vulnerable to his own sons secret actions against him and Gabriel won't see it coming until its already too late.

For me, the Chloe controversy is two fold. If you watch the show up to season 3 and don't understand the character and what she's suppose to represent, then the show failed to convey that message properly. If you watch the show and understand what the character is meant represent, an awful person who doesn't want to change, but then see the creator go off online about what his intent actually was, he's taking the choice of interpretation away from you. Uh Life is pain, And that pain is called miraculous Season 5,

Today I will be reviewing the third episode of season 5 Destruction,

The episode starts with Marinette watching a Ladyblog video about monarch, reminding the audience one more time that Gabriel got the jewels, STOP IT ASTRUC, PLEASE WE ALREADY KNOW HE GOT THE JEWELS, YOU REPEATED THAT FOR 2 EPISODES YOU DON’T NEED TO REPEAT YOURSELF AGAIN.

Alya enters in the room and teel Marinette to stop watching the video, and she gives some lame excuse, Alya tries to tell Marinette to think of something else and go grabs some tea, like yeah it’s good Alya is trying to cheer Marinette but, why don’t think of MAKING A PLAN TO STOP MONARCH, MAYBE IF YOU GET UP YOUR FAT ASS AND MADE SOME RESERCH YOU WOULDN’T BE IN THIS MESS, WHY DON’T YOU TRY TO FIND WHO HE IS ALYA? YOU LITERALYY DISCOVERED A SECRET THING THAT THE LADYBUG MIRACULOUS CAN DO, NOT EVEN THE GUARDIANS KNEW ABOUT, MAYBE JUST MAYBE TRY TO FIND WHO HE IS?? YOU CAN LOOK FOR CLUES, YOU CAN BORE PEOPLE WHO REMEMBER SOMETHING FROM WHEN THEY WERE AKUMATIZED (like Chloe in miracle queen) BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOO, APARETLY ALYA DON’T HAVE A BRAIN, JUST LIKE THE WRITTERS, ONE MINUTE IN AND I AM ALREAFY PISSED, sorry I got out of the track, where was I? oh yeah

With Gabriel, he still mad about the events “Evolution” saying that he will get the miraculous, so he looks in the book and sees that the rooster can grand any power, yeah but the peacock also could man, whatever, he has the idea of see in the book of the miraculous if some of the kwamis can help him

Gabriel: YOU, you can grand me any power I want, you will give me the power to travel through time

Orikko (rooster miraculous): NO, you’re mistaken, time travel is fluff’s power, and I can’t grand a power that already belongs to another Kwami

Sass: each kwami represents a concept and a concept can only exist once in the universe,

Xuppu: too complicated sass, lets use an example to make things simpler! Take Tikki, she’s the kwami of creation, and creation is creation, and if there’s another creation then creation then it’s not creation, is replication

Gabriel: then grand me the power to locate ladybugs and chat noir’s miraculous

Rooster: the problem it’s that not a power is a wish

Xuppu: persistence, if I ask Santa for a pair of socks that’s a wish, but if I want Santa to grand me the power to nit socks then it means Santa needs to know how to nit socks in the first place so he can teach me!

Gabriel: grand me the power to unmask ladybug and chat noir secret identities

Rooster: I can not give a power that would destroy another kwamis magic, and being able to hide their identity is part of the magic of their kwamis

Ok ok ok, it’s good that they are saying the rooster isn’t as powerful as we thought but, about this wish thing, w h a t ?, that doesn’t make any sense, like back In back warder (no pun intended) we saw marc using it to multiply objects, and he just did it once so he didn’t gain the power to multiply thigs, just the sunglasses making this a wish, actually IF HE CAN’T COPY OTHER KWAMIS POWERS THEN WHY THE HECK WAS HE ABLE TO MULTIPLY THE SUNGLASSES, THAT’S MULLO’S POWER , I think it would have been a better explanation if they just say “the rooster powers is the power that the plot demands”

So, the kwamis make fun of Gabriel that they were scared off one episode ago and he shut them up, thank you Gabriel, thank you so much.

Then Gabriel uses his 1 braincell to order the kwamis to tell who ladybug is, but it doesn’t work because the kwamis have a spell that forbids them to tell their owners identity,

Sass: kwamis cannot expose the identity of their holder

Mullo: and since ladybug never renounced us, she still our holder

Xuppu: its kinda like those pajamas you put away without washing them first, you see?

Shut up Xuppu no one cares,

So, like, now it matters if a holder renounced their miraculous or not? But what about the miraculous holders that died in battle, and then if someone forgot to renounce them, they could say their new holder’s name but couldn’t say the old one name? could you explain this better without the annoying Xuppu telling us like If we had only half a braincell?

Gabriel then orders the kwamis to tell him ladybug’s address, but instead of saying the address the kwamis tell it by a charade “follow the smell of croissants” hard one huh? So Gabriel fuses with the butterfly, the horse, the turtle, and the bee miraculous and go to Marinnete’s room, and I gotta admit the way gabi looks to the camera, kinda gives a tense vibe, and even if we know gabi won’t get the miraculous, kinda gives you anxiety of what he is going to do, we get tense to see the next scene in Mari’s room, BUT NOT BEFORE OF WE SEE A MINUTE LONG SCENE OF MARINETTE PARENTS BAKING CROASSAINTS, we need to fill the episode huh?

After this waste of time, we go to the tense moment baby!!!!, with Marinette, she still can only think about the kwamis, tikki tries to comfort her just before monarch breaks into her room, Marinette was shocked, the soundtrack, the tone, all makes it feel like this is a tense moment, the goat Kwami tells monarch to ask Marinette for the “gift” ladybug has given to Marinette, while monarch points a venom to her, she slowly go down the stairs, shaking with fear, she knew even ladybug couldn’t defeat monarch alone, any wrong movement she would be paralyzed and god who knows what would happen then, JUST FOR HER TO SLIP AND BREAK THE WHOLE CLIME, WHY? WHY DOES THIS SHOW CAN’T BE SERIOUS FOR 5 MINUTES?

Mariette gives monarch a ladybug keychain, which monarch yells at the kwamis but they tell him that they don’t know ladybug’s address, but she left them clues to there she lives kinda like a treasure hunt.

Alya comes with some food just to drop all when see purple man and Mary sue, which Alya stars to….do a live about it…...

Alya: Monarch, now that you got all the miraculous, what do you think ladybug is up to? Maybe she is moving her secret hide out, or she is looking for a replacement, or maybe she is already on your trail

Alya, not the best time to ask for likes buddy

Monarch gets mad and throw Alya’s cellphone is the floor causing it to break,

HEY THAT WAS RUDE, ALYA WAS BEEING ANOYING BUT THAT DOSEN’T MEAN THAT YOU CAN JUST BREAK HER PHONE LIKE THAT, YOU KNOW HOW MUCH A PHONE COUSTS? SHAME ON YOU GABRIEL D:<

Now for the rest of the review, you will be called Rudenarch, and Assbriel, because that’s what you are, a rude asshole >: I

Rudenarch breaks Mari’s keychain to reveal a paper with the number 42, and the kwamis accidently reveal that the next clue is in the ice rink, which the teacher asks if he wants some skating lessons, sure, a dangerous super villain would totally go skating,

Philippe: I hope this is the key for happiness,

And I hope you can shut up and be real for a second, THERE’S A FUCKING TERRORIST IN YOUR RINK

Rudenarch founds a picture of the chat noir wax statue and a paper saying “street”

Rudenarch: street, 42 and street (using his only braincell moment) the pieces of paper spell out an address,

Xuppu: its not like it was difficult,

Assbriel, could you shut up this monkey again, please?

Philipp takes a selfie with Rudenarch because... a celebrity would make his rink more popular…... I will stop calling you Assbriel and rudenarch if you send him and that stupid ass Kwami to the moon, please?

Rudenarch goes to the wax museum and, what is her name again? Veronique? I think that’s it Veronique, Veronique takes him to the superheroes exhibition, seeing a piece of paper in wax chat noir statue, he takes it just to be revealed that it was the real chat noir not a statue, and that it was a trap, the kwamis hug ladybug, an then she takes all the miraculous,

Ladybug: is this what you were looking for monarch? My real address was written of this but I replaced it just before you got here

Ok now you are going to take all the miraculous,

Rudenarch: How?

Ladybug: how I knew you were looking for me? It just so happens, I notified every time Philippe posts a pic, and I knew if you ever showed up in the rink, that would mean that you were on my trail, so chat noir and I rushed here to replace the paper

Chat noir: and the statue

You are just going to talk about your amazing plan until he escapes, huh?

Ladybug: and set up this trap you so nicely fell into

Ladybug: You’re not going any further monarch; I’m still the guardian and I’m going to retrieve all the miraculous you stole from us right here and now!

Yep, they are,

Ladybug tries to take the butterfly miraculous but Rudenarch let’s himself be cataclysmed and escapes with kalkkie,

Ladybug: we had him, we almost had him, the kwamis where safe they were right here.

Chat noir: I, cataclysmed him, I don’t believe this, I just catalysmed someone, I know it was monarch but, there’s a real person behind that mask and, I must have hurted him terribly.

Chat Noir: my lady, we’ve gotta fix this

Ladybug: chat noir monarch just ran away with my lucky charm, without it I can’t fix anything, there’s nothing I can do,

Like, this scene is good, I gotta admit this show is terrible? Yes, but it knows how to give the vibes, WITH THAT SAID, those two are MORONS, THEY ARE SYMPHATETIC BUT STILL MORONS. WHY DIDN’T U TAKE THE MIRACULOUS WHEN YOU HAD HIM RIGHT THEEEEEEEEEEEEE

The next scene, Marinette explains that she failed to get the kwamis, Alya hugs her best friend knowing the only thing she can do is be there for her- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAND SHE RUINS THE THOLE CLIME, GOOD JOB ALYA

The next half is just Mari explaining her plan to Alya, and answering the audiences’ questions,

How she set up all in the ice rink, talk but because this is miraculous and in miraculous chat noir don’t matter, tell chat that she has a plan but don’t explain nothing, would it really hurt to explain to your “loyal partner” I know Adrien don’t deserve any trust but still. How she taught the kwamis what to do if Assbriel captured them, how they replaced the statues, I am oversimplifying it because its ten minutes of just it, explain plan and answer questions,

With Assbriel we have a scene of multiplication showing that Assbriel has a cataclysm mark in his arm, and that he turned the miraculous to dust to make some rings- WAIT A MINUTE, WASEN’T THE MIRACULOUS SUPPOSED TO BREAK WITH A CATACLYSM ONLY? WRITTERS WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH THE SHOW? WHO IS IN CHARGE OF THE CONTINUITY HERE?

We see that Assbriel trapped all the kwamis and also gained a new design that just

NOW THAT IS PURPLE GUY, ok now serious, this is just a copy of Wishmaker but purple

DON’T TELL ME YOU DON’T SEE THE RESEMBLANCE,

I would say this design is better then the other version but its not good, there’s to much purple, and the miraculous team thought that if they put the rings it would look cool but it doesn’t, I really don’t have much to say because this custom is just purple, well I like that they put the butterfly miraculous more up, but that’s just it, I will give this a 5.5/10 bland just like ladybug's

Rudenarch gives some evil speech and that is when the episode ends.

This episode is boring, it’s the most boring one so far, they ruin every change they have to make a dramatic moment. Xuppu, Phillipe, and Alya, need to just get kinda snap out of existence, and everyone is so dumb in this episode, I know in miraculous all human beings are stupid, but this episode outdid itself, the cataclysm mark was out of nowhere, and the new custom sucks, I will give this episode a 2.8/10 why Xuppu still alive? No really why?

(About autistic character) there wasn't any confirmation but I'd like to hear your theory 🤔

Thank you for sending this, and I’m so sorry for taking several months to answer this! I’ve finally decided to scrap the draft I’ve had saved on my computer and finally answer it!

Being as it has been months since I last posted on this topic and I doubt most people who see this post will have seen the previous post this is referring to, so basically, at one point Astruc hinted that there was an autistic character in ML but didn’t say who it was. Someone asked him if he would ever consider creating a character with Asperger’s Syndrome, and his response was something like “if you look closely, you may find that there already is one.”

So, my theory is that it’s actually Marinette.

Now I ask that people please hear me out on this before jumping on me for having such a theory about the main character, and also keep in mind that a lot of this comes from my own experience, as I am #ActuallyAutistic myself.

So one of the first things people think of when they think of autism is the social awkwardness aspect. The degree of social awkwardness that Marinette displays may not be the degree of awkwardness that fits common conceptions of what an autistic person would look like, but that’s not uncommon for autistic females, as we are more likely to assimilate “normal” social behaviors through “masking” than our male counterparts. (This also would add an extra dash of irony, for Marinette to still have a figurative “mask” when she’s not in the Ladybug costume…) We do see however, that Marinette becomes flustered very easily (often with Adrien, but in enough other cases that we can safely say it’s a typical thing with her), and in these cases she struggles to find words, seeming almost as if she’s trying to find what she should say instead of what she actually wants to say. This could possibly be a case where an autistic person is able to mask enough to mostly seem “normal,” but still has awkward times when they struggle to do so. Rather than being recognized as autistic, such individuals are often just viewed as “quirky,” which Marinette has canonically been called.

Another thing about Marinette that I didn’t think a whole lot about until I started wondering about the autistic character, is the degree of dread she has for the first day of school in Origins 1, outright stating at one point “I hate first days.” Perhaps one of the reasons for this is because it’s an entirely new routine to get used to. She may not have the type of rigid daily routine that many autistic people do (neither do I, actually), but there does seem to be some need for sameness, so big overall changes like a new class schedule can be distressing. Other signs that she may like some degree of sameness can be seen in how she has always sat in the same spot in her homeroom class, and briefly noted routine activities such as how it is mentioned in Animaestro that she bakes a single passionfruit macaron every Sunday.

So now there’s stimming, which of course most autistic people do. We often see her waving her arms when she’s either excited or flustered, which other characters do in fact notice, as noted by Alya in the New York special. There are also times when we see her nervously tapping, a particularly visible instance of which can be seen near the beginning of Prime Queen. On more than one occasion when she’s intently thinking about something, we see her pacing back and forth (which also happens to be one of my stims). Also worth noting is that some people stim by doing repetitive crafts such as sewing and knitting, both of which Marinette canonically does.

Autism can affect motor function, resulting in many autistic people being extremely clumsy. I feel no need to further elaborate on this point.

Next I want to talk about special interests. This is another area where females on the spectrum can often differ from males. The special interests of some autistic girls are often overlooked as such because they can often be things that are considered normal and appropriate for girls their age, such as, for instance, fashion, which is shown to be important to Marinette. However, I want to point out that a special interest can be literally anything, including... a person. (I am so going to get hate for this...) If someone’s special interest were a person, then they might know things like that person’s schedule, likes and dislikes, multiple middle names and the days associated with each of said names, work habits... you get the picture. (Side note: I don’t think that Adrien possibly being a special interest would make her feelings for him any less valid, especially given that she often tries to use her knowledge about him in attempts to make him happy.)

And there are other little things like how she doesn’t always notice right away when called on, or occasional failure to control the volume of her voice.

Anyway, in all of the time I’ve spent thinking about this before finally managing to type it out, I’ve gone from thinking this might be it, to having fully convinced myself, so now, although I’m sure some people may not agree with this theory, you’ll have to pry my autistic!Marinette headcanon from my cold dead hands!
