Reposting an Author's Literature

Unfortunately, it’s been brought to my attention that a few of my works have been reposted on wattpad without my permission. I’d like to start by saying, please ask for permission from the author before you repost their work - even if they have stated otherwise.

It's just the right thing to do.

It’s very frustrating, disappointing, and discouraging when I find my work reposted on a website by someone who didn’t even ask me for permission first. Whether credit is given or not, this was done without my knowledge or consent. This is happening with a few of my mutuals as well. Please. Please. Ask for my permission.

I can appreciate that you liked my work and wanted to share it, I honestly do. But to copy and paste it in its entirety and completely repost it isn’t something I appreciate.

Because here’s the reality of the situation: people consuming my work on these sites don’t even realize that it’s mine. They’re under the assumption that it’s the person who’s reposting it - asking for a part two, or for a new chapter. This just doesn’t sit right with me. Hours and hours of work, all for what? To have someone repost it and for people to think it’s theirs?

If you see anyone but me post my works on any website, please ask them to remove it, and if they don't remove it then please, please report them. I honestly hate to say it because I'd like to think that they're doing this from a place of love and appreciation. Perhaps they're just mislead, and ignorant that their actions aren't right. Or maybe this is me just always trying to find the good in people.

Who knows?

Either way, there could be several reason's why an author wouldn't want their works reposted, but no matter the reason please follow their wishes.

If you're seeing this and you’d like to share my works, I’d prefer for you to share the link to my blog or ao3 where I, the author, have posted the original work.

If you're seeing this and you've already reposted my work in it's entirety (copy + paste), then I'm kindly asking you to take it down.

I hope you guys understand where I'm coming from with this. My intention here is not to be rude or ungrateful or anything, truly. I appreciate the love, I really, really do. And I want nothing more than to return the love that I receive, but I feel like there's a better way to go about this whole thing.

Personally, wattpad is just a website that I don't feel comfortable with my works being posted on. However, I've created a wattpad and will be posting my works on there in order to 'remedy' this situation. My wattpad handle is the same as here: TiredMamaIssy.

Finally got out of artistic block-

So I made this as a result!

Izmir Yukime and her girlfriend Macey Adamski-Balchunas!

So some backstory: Izmir was setting the lights for some dance show Macey was participating in, but of course, Izmir wasn't paying attention to where she was walking (It is in the Yukime blood to be reckless, lol-). Fortunately Macey was there to catch her reckless girlfriend.

(This is probably the last time I do artwork that has dialogue-)
