summary

The trust between Ladybug and Chat Noir is stretched to breaking point when a new butterfly holder emerges in the wake of Monarque's defeat. Chat Noir doesn't know who to trust until Chrysalis confronts him with a truth Ladybug had tried to bury: Monarque made the Wish—and she wants Chat Noir’s help to undo it.

“I shouldn’t,” she said quietly, turning her face away. “Besides, I’m not really in a party mood… there’s still Guardian stuff to do.” He studied her gaze, fixed on something unseen in the distance. Though he’d long grown accustomed to the way his heart tugged harder toward her the further away she went, this time the pang ground deeper in his chest. “Right, of course,” Chat Noir said, turning away too. “You took Monarque down.” You and Gabriel Agreste, he couldn’t help thinking. “I’m sure you have a lot to talk to Nooroo about. And Su Han. And the team.” What a talk that would be, when Chat Noir would receive the play-by-play alongside all the other Holders. There was no point being angry about it. Not when Gabriel was gone, when Ladybug wore her victory like a shroud, when there was still so much work to do. Chat Noir didn’t know how to be angry without destroying anything—and so much had already been destroyed. “And you have to find a new Butterfly Holder too, right?”

I actually love self-treating my OCD. Like, I actually conciously think about myself and the things I do, and I say "I don't know why I do this, but it's making me upset", and then I figure out how I can stop doing it. Like, I'm actually so proud of myself for stopping building sandwiches in a particular order because one of my "rules" used to be "the pickles cannot touch the cheese", but I was like, "okay, one sandwich. I will make a sandwich without lettuce to go between them, because I do not have lettuce", and I made a sandwich where the pickles touched the cheese, and I was trying to back out the whole time, but I finished it, and it was fine, and I thought about every other time I ate a sandwich where the pickles touched the cheese, and I realized they were also fine, and it doesn't actually taste different or do bad things and it's just like any other sandwich, because it is just like any other sandwich. And sometimes I'm still like "but you can't put the pickles touching the cheese" and then I tell myself "yes I can, and I'll do it right now", and it's fine. And that's just one example, but like it's so cool how I'm just able to do this on my own without needing any external help. Maybe someday, I'll be able to be free from the invisible strings that plague my everyday life and dictate my every action. Not like puppet strings, I'm not making a metaphor, I mean the invisible strings that are attached to all objects and the back of my neck that I can't let get tangled by wrapping them around things or spinning in one direction too much or like, letting it get caught in doorways because I walked through the wrong one, or like... passing items through openings and then not passing them through the same opening on the way back, cause then the string will get caught and tangled and it'll... hurt me or something idk. That's the big one. The big rule. And it's the worst one. Oh yeah along with touching things, that's... also..

last rb related i keep thinking about how like a dream come true couldve singlehandedly made me a persona fan at age 8 if i managed to find out its name earlier

#so backstory i used to be hyperfixated on pokemon when i was younger #and one of my favourite series was pokemon golder (which looking back Did not hold up all that well but it was 2014-15 so it was expected)#and in the scene where gold asks jasmine out on a date that song played #and i was so fixated on it for some reason. it was really nice to me #i rewatched that scene over and over again jus to listen to it #eventually i jus asked ppl in the comment section if anyone knew the song name but i dont think anyone ever replied #so 8 year old persona 4 fan nero was never meant to be :-(#my souyo fanart wouldve been so awesome though #this also doubles as my first exposure to the persona series as a whole now that i think about it #so thats badass #idk why i even posted abt this. being on the internet in 2015 had been on my mind a lot lately. it was an interesting era #text tag

It would be super cool and amazing if fanfic writers looking for a beta showed up in my inbox and asked me to edit words, actually

Aka: editing is the fun part of the writing process for me, and I want to edit! MCYT fanfic is preferred, but I'll edit fandom-blind as well.

Minimum work count is 500, and the maximum is open to discussion (there shouldn't be any problems if the work/all chapters of the work are 5k words or less, but that's not a hard limit). Turnaround time is fairly quick. Any works submitted must be SFW, have already went through a baseline author edit, and shared via google docs.

My specialties are in grammar, pacing, command of prose and style, and formatting. I am less adept in dialogue/characterization but still competent and willing to beta for those!

My guildines for fics I'll work on are fairly loose, but if you have any questions, send me an ask or a DM. If you're interested in having me beta a fic of yours, do the same! I'm more than happy to take on both simple and complex projects.

was out all day (AT THE BEACH NO LESS <3) and came back to THIRTY SIX notifs, almost had a panic because the obessive compulsive "Mind Cop" who's in my brain defaults to screaming "NOW YOU FUCKED UP! NOW YOU FU-" at me even when it doesn't make sense

nah all those notifs are because a post is taking off on my new selfship specific blog :))))))

you keep posting about columbo. do i need to watch it would u recommend?

first of all sorry for answering more than a week later... i had a feeling if i just keep on columboposting all alone eventually someone will be like what's going on.. my brain's been like THE KLUMBO!! every day most days for a while now so bear with me for a moment

my answer to "do you recommend x" is always that i can tell you about it, say what i like about it and what's possibly not to like so you can better evaluate whether it's something you would enjoy, yeah? 😳 like in the end it's either for you or it isn't and only you can find out. you know what i mean

um so columbo, the episodes are feature-length self-contained murder mysteries, if you wanted to you could start anywhere. and they aren't exactly mysteries because the concept is that you watch the murder happen and then the clues that lead to the arrest are uncovered gradually and the lieutenant and the killer dance around each other until the latter incriminates themself. usually because they underestimated columbo because he's a shabby little guy and appears to be sort of a bumbling idiot but is actually incredibly perceptive and sharp-witted, and he knows how the (usually rich) self-important murderers see him and uses that against them, as well as his compassion and intuition. that's pretty much it, it's a reverse whodunnit

i think (and it may be obvious) that the appeal of the show other than the crime/mystery is columbo, if you like him that could possibly be the thing that makes you continue watching. so i'll tell you that he doesn't carry a gun, can't stand the sight of blood, or high places, loves his wife. and his dog. simple guy, shrewd though. same rumpled coat and shitty little peugeot convertible all the time. he's very socratic in his methods, non-violent, and i think that's what really attracted me to this show. i enjoy the masculinity without the usual baggage, without the arrogance and the domineering and the posturing, if that makes sense lol.. plus i think peter falk's performance is wonderfully human, stephen fry said this once in an interview if i remember correctly: there's a certain warmth to it. columbo's a humble, virtuous character, yeah he's disheveled, a little all over the place but he understands people and is endlessly curious and dedicated and that's how he wins. and i like that and i think he's a bit of an unusual character because we're far from the macho tough guy cops who intimidate and coerce and threaten And from the trope of the egotistical superhuman genius detective.. he's a little guy c'maahn he's just a little guyy (it's not about him though viewers aren't even supposed to know his first name and it's hard to tell when he's bluffing and his private life is never the focus. so, a mysterious little guy)

TLDR: yes i recommend it if you like mysteries and would enjoy a crime drama with moments of silliness or would appreciate the unconventional masculinity (for his time definitely) i see in this character, and no i don't recommend it if you'd rather watch things that are short and snappy or if you strongly prefer an overarching plot or if you hate the look and feel of the 70s or if you don't like peter falk's whole deal and especially not if your pet peeve is talking in circles. oh and there are some moments and aspects of episodes that didn't age well but they're very few and far between imo. just wanted to mention that, i know nothing is perfect ofc<3

so yeah i do recommend it because i love it, thank you for asking !! :)

#i had this whole thing where i rambled about which episodes are probably best to start with but i'm just gonna say‚ start with murder by #the book (first episode but not the pilot) or double exposure or suitable for framing. opinions vary on many episodes but i think these are #generally loved. also negative reaction has a killer that didn't interest me but it's great for getting to know columbo #but there are many articles and posts with opinions about which episodes are the best and which are good to start with #articles about why people watch/love columbo too. like if you didn't trust me and wanted different sources hdshvy #ask #columbo
