Lunar Eclipse: Full Worm Moon
To all, How is everyone's experience with the Lunar Eclipse? Before the strike on March 25, I felt a surge of enthusiasm and energy. Acknowledging the upcoming event.
Lunar eclipses reveal the truths behind our shadows, reintroducing our fears and what we lack in life. As a woman of pride, it has been hard for me not to be critical with people in terms of competence.
This lunar eclipse heightens people's energetic vibration, at least that's what I believe. The stronger energies will overwhelm the weaker ones.
And... as a woman, with a 10th house(Capricorn) stellium and strong Aries placements... It is, without a doubt, that my influence will be a tad bit intimidating at this time.
I believe this eclipse will portray how you stand in the world and around people, and that most truths will be blatantly visible.
This is just... a rough draft that I wanted to put out... I'm certainly not a professional astrologer, thus... I do hope my words will be taken with a grain of salt... But at the same time, I hope I can make clearer content about the lunar eclipse and the full worm moon later.
See you later and I hope you guys can share your experience as well. Sincerely, Your big sister~

Tonight is the Full Crow Moon also known as the Worm Moon and the Sap Moon. Called the Crow Moon for the cawing crows around this time that signal the end of winter. As the earth thaws worms start to appear. And it marks the time when maple sap begins to flow and the annual tapping of maple trees begins.
The Spring Equinox will be in a couple of weeks, when both day and night are at equal length we are reminded to find our own inner balance. focus inward toward inner wisdom and self-analysis. This Full Moon is in the sign of Virgo, this will give us a keen eye for detail, we will see things and people and situations in our lives with crystal clarity, a light will be illuminated allowing us to see beyond the shadows. This is a time of cultivating and growing, just as the Suns energy and nature is doing at this time. Plant the seeds of new ventures, plan for the future, think about what it is you want and need and set about putting a plan into action. Use this energy for your own personal transformation, rebirth and regrowth.
Tonight's Full Moon illuminates our inner feelings and desires, so emotions can be quite raw and enhanced. The Virgo Full Moon means we may be over critical of ourselves and of others, try not to see the bad in everything instead look for the good. The Virgo sign is a very hard working and practical sign so use its energy for getting jobs done that you have been putting off for a while. Virgo is not scared to face deep issues so tackle any problems and bring them to an end.
This Full Moon brings light to whatever was hidden in the darkness or buried within the subconscious such as emotional pain or our deepest desires, but once awareness happens you are able to make realistic changes. Our emotional levels move like strong turbulent waves in the ocean during high tide for some during this Full Moon. Emotional reactions may be strong, energies may feel irritable or uptight. We are amidst great times of transformation which are heralding major new beginnings. Change isn't always easy or comfortable and it’s constant, so we must strive to keep our balance during these changing tides.
The world as it stands is challenged by many opposing forces now. We feel them both personally and collectively, pushing against our own will, raising difficult questions, triggering issues we would rather avoid. How we keep our own balance of light and dark and manage our own inner conflicts largely dictates how we manage outside ones. If we struggle with our own anger or hatred, telling ourselves we shouldn’t feel this way, we will struggle to respond effectively to the anger of others, allow yourself to feel angry or upset, but don't let it take over, keep a balance. If we fear our own power, preferring to see ourselves as victim rather than creator we may succumb to the power wielded by others, adopting their thoughts and priorities, behaviours and lifestyles without discerning the right path for us. If we refuse to acknowledge our own inner selfishness that demands its own way no matter what, we may project it onto the world around us, pointing the finger of judgement and even becoming a bully. Don't suppress your feelings, embrace your light and your dark sides as one cannot exist without the other. We need both. Let go of guilt and allow yourself to feel what you're feeling without self-judgement.
Let the energy of this Full Moon wash over you and cleanse your spirit, use it to heal you both emotionally and physically. Let the moonlight bathe and sooth you mind, body and soul. let the earth element of Virgo take away negativity. Stay away from self-doubt. Seek a balance of light and dark and see the truth in your life however much it may hurt, only then can you do something about it and begin to heal.
Have a blessed Full Moon, may the Goddess watch over you.

Round up of my wild week 5th-10th March 2023
It was a week that saw a change in weather with a cold snap, a dusting of snow in these parts and some wet weather. It felt like a little step back into winter with these scenes and puddles and mud reappearing in the landscape somewhat, but that didn’t stop it being a week I saw some memorable wildlife and took so many pictures nor did it stop it feeling spring like. A Coot seen adding twigs to a nest under construction at Petersfield Heath Pond yesterday, more fabulous moments watching the Lakeside Country Park courting Great Crested Grebes across the week and the continued emergence of early spring wildflowers helped it feel spring like still. Crocuses, periwinkle, daffodil, snowdrops including some seen at Winchester Cathedral in snow quite comically and some pretty spurge out the front were plant highlights of my week, with a few nice insect and spider sightings in and outdoors this week standing out too.
Tumblr media
A photo I took of the snow falling early on Wednesday morning, with the tree out the back coming into bud and blossom a contrasting point in the photo.

The Coot with a stick yesterday.

Crocuses at Lakeside on Sunday
I spent probably more time than average at my local Lakeside this week with a special longer slower paced visit yesterday as part of a day off I had using up annual leave and an exercise walk there as an addition to my Sunday alongside Monday and Tuesday’s lunch time walks, and it produced some of my birdwatching highlights of the week. The leading bird species of these few days the exquisite Lesser Redpolls I saw in lake side alders there yesterday, a captivating sight seeing a bird I find so sweet to see. It was such a revelation of the walk there yesterday and such a key bird to my year so far, as my first time seeing this species this year and first I’d ever seen at Lakeside. I was so overjoyed to see them. As well as the sheer wonder of watching the Great Crested Grebes seeing some bits of the courtship dance again this week other key birds at Lakeside were Green Woodpecker one I saw consistently, Siskin, Cormorant and Wren. Other key birds seen this week were Buzzards with two seen well at Lakeside and home a couple of times, Song Thrush and Dunnock, many Egyptian Geese as well as Red Kite on a great walk of intimate avian encounters at Petersfield Heath Pond with pleasing views of Peregrine and Grey Wagtail in Winchester on office working day lunch breaks.
Tumblr media
A Lesser Redpoll record shot
Also bird wise it was notably a strong week for seeing gulls, with my second and third favourite gulls starring with Mediterranean Gulls with black heads another strong spring sight this week at Petersfield Heath Pond and Common Gull both there and at Lakeside. Perhaps my fourth favourite is Lesser Black-backed Gulls and this was a welcome Lakeside constant this week again, from seeing one sat on a buoy to it scoffing bread. Black-headed Gull and especially for hearing them Herring Gull were big parts of my week too.
Tumblr media
Mediterranean Gulls with Black-headed Gulls at Petersfield Heath Pond yesterday. Not necessarily surprising when I break it down but still quite out of the blue yesterday was the most photos I’ve ever produced on a day which was interesting. FYI, one of my favourite birds the Kittiwake is my undisputed favourite gull species.
Tumblr media
I can’t forget the full Worm moon which entranced me in evenings early in the week, getting this photo of it on Tuesday.
Tumblr media
And as a feature of the weather week it has been it has been a good one for dramatic sky scenes, this scene from Monday’s Lakeside walk.

For many years, it was thought that the name "Worm Moon" referred to the earthworms that appear as the soil warms in spring. This invites robins and other birds to feed—a true sign of spring.
However, more research revealed another explanation. In the 1760s, Captain Jonathan Carver visited the Naudowessie (Dakota) and other Native American tribes and wrote that the name Worm Moon refers to a different sort of “worm”—beetle larvae—which begin to emerge from the thawing bark of trees and other winter hideouts at this time.
March’s full Moon often plays a role in religion, specifically in Christianity, this Moon is known as the Lenten Moon if it is the last full Moon of the winter season (i.e., if it occurs before the spring equinox) or as the Paschal Full Moon if it is the first full Moon of spring (i.e., if it occurs after the spring equinox).

This holiday marks the Spring Equinox, which happens before March 19-22. It is the second of three spring celebrations (the midpoint between Imbolc and Beltane)  during which light & darkness are again in balance, with light on the rise. It is a time of new beginnings & of life emerging further from the grips of winter.
There is much debate regarding the origins of Ostara due to the lack of primary sources about this sabbat. One theory is the name of Ostara came from the Anglo-Saxon goddess Eostre. Another theory is that Eostre is more of a localized goddess in Kent County, England. Despite the questions of her origins, Eostre is associated with modern-day Pagan traditions of Ostara.
There is no evidence that the ancient Greeks or Romans celebrated Ostara, although they did celebrate their own spring festivals, such as the Roman festival of Floralia & the Greek festival of Anthesteria. It was a time to honor the returning sun, fertility & rebirth.
Related festivals:
• Nowruz- March 19th
Nowruz marks the first day of spring & renewal of nature. It is celebrated on the day of the astronomical vernal equinox. It is also celebrated as the beginning of the new year by people all around the world for over 3,000 years in the Balkans, the Black Sea Basin, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East & other regions.
It promotes values of peace & solidarity between generations & within families as well as reconciliation & neighbourliness. Nowruz plays a significant role in strengthening the ties among peoples based on mutual respect & the ideals of peace and good neighbourliness.
Traditional customs of Nowruz include fire & water, ritual dances, gift exchanges, reciting poetry, symbolic objects & more; these customs differ between the diverse peoples & countries that celebrate the festival.
• Holi- March 25th
Holi is a popular & significant Hindu festival celebrated as the The festival of colors, Love &Spring. It commemorates eternal and divine love of the deities Radha & Krishna. Additionally, the day signifies the triumph of good over evil, as it celebratess the victory of Vishnu as Narasimha over Hiranyakashipu. Holi originated & is predominantly celebrated in the Indian subcontinent, but has also spread to other regions of Asia & parts of the Western world through the Indian diaspora.
Holi also celebrates the arrival of Spring in India, the end of winter & the blossoming of love. It is also an invocation for a good spring harvest season. It lasts for a night & a day, starting on the evening of the Purnima (full moon day) falling on the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna, which falls around the middle of March in the Gregorian calendar.
• Easter- March 31st
also called Pascha or Resurrection Sunday is a Christian festival & cultural holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD. It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus Christ, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a 40-day period of fasting, prayer, & penance.
Easter traditions vary across the Christian world & include sunrise services or late-night vigils, exclamations & exchanges of Paschal greetings, flowering the cross & the decoration and the communal breaking of Easter eggs (a symbol of the empty tomb) among many others. The Easter lily is a symbol of the resurrection in Western Christianity traditionally decorates the chancel area of churches on this day & for the rest of Eastertide. Additional customs that have become associated with Easter & are observed by both Christians & some non-Christians include Easter parades, communal dancing, the Easter Bunny & egg hunting.
Other Celebrations:
• Festival of Luna- March 31st
Is a feast day honoring the Goddess Luna who is seen as the divine embodiment of the Moon.
The Temple of Luna was a temple on the Aventine Hill in Rome, dedicated to Luna, the moon goddess. Its dedication was celebrated on March 31st, thus the celebration.
According to Tacitus, it was built by king Servius Tullius. However, the first confirmed reference to a temple to Luna dates to 182 BC & refers to one of its doors being knocked off its posts by a miraculous blast of air & shot into the back of the Temple of Ceres. That account probably places the temple at the north end of the hill, just above porta Trigemina. The temple was struck by lightning around the time of the death of Cinna, as was the temple of Ceres. After the destruction of Corinth, Lucius Mummius Achaicus dedicated some of his spoils from the city to this temple. It was destroyed in the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD & not rebuilt.

He could smell the earth changing. Full of sweet, light freshness; overwhelming, even now, even while the bulk of the beast still slumbered beneath the damp ground.
He knew that the beast was slumbering beneath his skin, too, ready to burst out like those first green shoots. It wasn't long, now: less than a handful of hours before it arrived.
The first full moon of spring. They called it--
No. No matter what they called it. Don't think about it. Don't let it in.
But it would get in. Always powerful, always tugging, always pulling at him in a way the other new moons never did. The summer moons were long and languid. Winter moons were snappy and full of ice, autumn moons slow and sleepy and heavy. But spring... spring was life, and sap, and fresh blood.
His canines ached in his jaw as he peered from the window to watch the red gash of the setting sun vanish behind the trees.
Soon.
When his Love found him, he was locked rictus, his head bowed, his arms around his legs. When he uncurled from the root of himself, he knew it was too late.
His Love was on his knees beside him. "Already?"
His mouth was full of teeth and soil. He choked. He made a noise - a name, a gasp, a plea. He could feel tears stinging his eyes as his limbs began to warp. His skin furred, dirtied, slickened.
"Would you--"
"Anything. I--" His Love's hand was in his, but he could not grasp it, not like this, not with this body and this skin. "Anything."
His mouth contorted. "Would you still love me if I was a worm?"
The moonlight burned. And locked in his lovers arms, he changed.
