After a long process I can finally show you this illustration I’ve made inspired by the book “Thorn Rose”, an old version of The Sleeping Beauty written by The Brothers Grimm and illustrated by Errol Le Cain. I wanted to give it a medieval look, and I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from old illustrators like Errol Le Cain himself, Kay Nielsen, Eyvind Earle and Ivan Bilibin. Whether it is Humpty Dumpty, or Three Little Pigs, fairy tales, and nursery rhymes constantly entertained us when we were a child to know our children/grandchildren as well as life lessons. The French author, Charles Perrault, a French author, is believed to be the first writer to write a fairy tale, as early as 1695. In the 19th century, the Grimm fairy tales were published and became famous worldwide.
