Summary:
Sakura decides to move out her parents house and the best option for a new place turns out to be Sai’s place.
Tags: Romance, Fluff and Hurt/Comfort, Comedy, Friends to Lovers, Mutual Pining, Eventual Smut, Morally Grey Characters, Blood and Gore, Implied/Referenced Child Abuse
Rating: Explicit
Work in progress (it's almost finished in my hard drive, but I'm letting my beta to do their magic and honestly in the meantime it's still growing a bit :D)
Extract from chapter 1:
Sai’s apartment was very ample and painted of a clean white, however it was more like a big warehouse with a bathroom. The kitchen was a simple long bar with a sink and some shelves set-in on the wall to have some storage, the bathroom door was metal with granulated glass and led to a refurnished bathroom with an old iron bathtub and a white ceramic sink with iron taps. The living room was at the same time the dining room sharing the space with the kitchen, not that Sai had a dining table, guessing by the two tall stools next to the kitchen bar it was obvious the artist ate there when he was home.
Hidden behind a folding screen made of wood and paper that Sakura was certain that Sai had made and painted himself, there was a double bed cornered on diagonal with the foot side facing the kitchen, to the left entering the aisle door, behind the bathroom.
The roof was really high, adding more to the impression that the place was some type of warehouse or factory refurbished.
Almost all of the walls had small windows almost to roof height and the opposite side wall was covered with several paintings, some of them already familiar to her like the one of Team 7, minus Sai and Sasuke, was on their back, looking towards the horizon. On the middle there was another stool and an old black lounge next to several different sized easels with canvas either in blank or half done, beside a small bookshelf full of notebooks and books.
Things had sped up when she had shown up on Sai’s doorstep, who corrected her about the misunderstanding that the apartment was being rented, even if the ad said so, and that in fact what he wanted was a roommate. Sakura’s suspicion was that it wasn’t an innocent mistake on the ad as Sai tried to excuse (after all she realized now that it was Sai’s handwriting on the sign) but instead a trap for someone despairing like her.
   An unsuccessful one.
Sai had a bad reputation in Konoha, even after being recognized by his achievements on the Fourth War, even outside shinobi circles he was still considered as a bit eccentric to put it lightly. Sakura suspected that, if someone came asking before her and found Sai, they would have excused themselves and/or run away on the opposite direction depending how well they knew him or polite they were.
Sakura knew that it was due in part to that lack of people skills outside of missions, which Sai was still working on improving, that he got kicked out of his old house, the one close to the big tree, when he insulted unwillingly the old landlady who already wanted to kick her tenant out in order to gift the house to her grandson as a wedding gift.
It wasn’t that long since that happened, and with her being busy between all her work in the hospital, missions and her issues at home, and with him on his ANBU missions, Sakura hadn’t had the chance to ask about his new home address.
She wondered if she had known beforehand whether she would have discarded the idea as she did with Naruto who had offered his home just like Ino when he found out on their letters she wanted to move out but that Sakura rejected for the opposite reasons:
While with Ino she wouldn’t be far away enough from her parents’ shadow, with Naruto she feared she would become the house mom as soon as he came back, her own methodical and clean way of doing things would clash against the messy ways of the Jinchūriki since she knew he was well beyond any fixing, and that the only way of not going crazy living with him was to take the full brunt of the domestic labor and that wasn’t in her plans with him or no one. Besides she didn’t want to be third wheel for Naruto and Hinata’s blooming relationship when he returned to the village.
With Sai she wouldn’t have any inconvenience of that type, the artist was almost as clean and organized as her, they would get along perfectly in that regard.
So Sakura stayed to Sai’s silent joy who had already watched others like Kiba, Shino and some other civilian practically run away when encountering him as he opened the door. That was a hit to his self-esteem but his teammate was making him forget about it quickly.
If he had known Sakura was looking for a place, Sai would have offered immediately his place. She was someone he trusted completely, besides of being someone clean and punctual, living with her would be a lot easier in comparison to living with a stranger or someone as hyperactive as Naruto.
Sakura entered the room with a genuine smile and after a short walk sat down in one of the stools at the kitchen bar, taking a bite of the cookies who Sai offered her hospitably with his usual gracefully stiff ways while he explained the terms and conditions like rent, that was ridiculously cheap including gas and water, coexistence (basically share house chores and don’t bring the place down while he was away) and lastly he mentioned he was a couple days away from a mission that would take him at least a week outside the village, asking her for an answer either before or after so he could give her a copy of the key.
Sakura was aware how usual it was for the ex-ROOT, being in ANBU now, to be away for weeks regularly, which Sakura analyzed would give her some needed alone time, at least for now.
To her own surprise, Sakura wasn’t against the idea of having her sometimes rude teammate as a roommate, but the not-as-forced-smile of Sai actually made her mind.
That was the place she was looking for.

Yo! I had so many questions I wanted to ask you while you were gone but I of course wasn’t gonna send in asks while you were on hiatus! I wanted you to have peace. But I should have written them down!! 😭
Now I only have this one question. I saw your ask to Mango about Chelsea’s super power and now I want your take on this. Not on Chelsea but an islander or islanders of your choice. What super powers would you give your favorite islanders? They can have more than one power like super heroes do if you feel like it fits.
hi! i missed you!
oh oh oh oh!! anything you remember, send it my way! i need something to help me wake up from this brain coma i've been in. i blame cmm for that...
ok, so i love this question, thank you for sending it to me! i'll definitely focus on a lot of them because well, i love the genre, and i love talking about them 🥺
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
lucas
fire. he's able to start it, besides dominating and bending it over to his own will. sometimes uses it for (partial) evil and more. being the anti hero i think he is, i would LOVE to see lucas playing with fire while delivering a speech that instigates the good guy in front of him. in a cool, well cut, all black suit with just one (1) red scarf on the lapel, or his neck, he would look amazing sending blazes everywhere! i even have a song for him: play with fire. aaaah the idea of lucas and fire sends me to heaven, hell, purgatory and back! he can be like tuxedo mask, regarding how he annoys everyone with his smugness.
gary
colossus. strength and possibility of turning into a dense metal at will? gary is perfect for it! he has the body shape and weight, and the skills for the maintenance. picture this: you walk down the hallway to go to the bathroom, only to hear him moaning in there. you're uncomfortable, thinking the worst, only to open the door and see him oiling his joints and almost falling on the floor. "a little help? i can't reach some places..." please, give me metal body gary, it would clear all my trauma! plus, as he is in the villa, he would exercise his comic relief role.
carl
brainiac with technology/time bending. (@lasswithumor's idea for 'time' makes me smile! thank you for the inspo!) not actual brainiac from dc though, let me explain. i always get the sense carl could be tony stark or bruce wayne, minus the assholery. he's much humbler and quiet, but still very capable. as for time bending being his power, it could make him overcome this sense of running out of time he always seems to have. he might have a hardship about it because he never seems to find a balance, so this skill is probably the only thing he could actually be good at, and benefit from.
noah
talking to the dead, like klaus hargreeves. something i would love to see is how tormented he would be while it happens. distressed noah is a beautiful concept, and part of the reason why he would be such a troubled character. picture this: he uses those people to fight in exchange of favors, like finding out who killed them, or to tell their families how peaceful they are now, among other things. noah and ghosts ring different to me, and the thought of him being troubled? even more! not like klaus, but definitely close to that. i love that "short temper" side of him, and in this context, it would be perfect. plus, his looks being similar to something from the 1920's, without the hat. so white shirt, suspenders, dark brown pants. ugh, he would look so good in it!
henrik
vines and plant banding, like layla williams in sky high. there's no other answer for him. i thought about making him avalanche, from x men, but i see him more connected to plants than any other element of nature. the way he would smirk and grow a small vine around his pinky while talking about a brilliant idea he just had? PLEASE. GIVE - IT - TO - ME, I LIVE FOR SMUG HENRIK! and you can be damn sure his looks would include this ponytail, by @juggalohenrik.
kassam
at first i thought invisibility, because of his personality and how he behaves in groups, but then it hit me, supersonic scream. he can take his frustrations out on a single booming scream and be done with it. i would love to see kassam being teased and beat up, only to get up from the ground, scrapes all over, bloody nose, only to position himself and close his fists to focus, before delivering a resounding scream to round it up real nicely. that's definitely a power he would find useful and excels in. the visuals definitely don't hurt either!
bobby
he's a very peculiar boy, and so his powers would have to be too. it might sound crazy, but hear me out! laughter inducement. the power itself can cause the person to laugh so hard, eventually the air is expelled from their lungs and they have quite the death! it's gruesome and i love it, it's the perfect juxtaposition between it and bobby's personality that is so bubbly. picture this: battlefield, gary smugly says "i guess that's the only way you could make someone laugh." to which bobby replies with a laugh "including you, tin can" while making colossus!gary laugh and fall on the floor because of it. it might require lots of energy, so bobby can't always cause mass laughter, just like in the villa... jk jk jk! i just know his uniform would be clown like, before priya adjusted to a beautiful dark teal piece. before that? goofy pink mask and cape with sprinkles, and tights everywhere else. he would also be the type of hero that is a comic relief. ironically, in this case.
lottie
rogue. the power and the visuals fit in so well! sucking up someone's power and/or energy SCREAMS lottie's personality all over! if i could adjust it so the girl doesn't manifest it unless she wants to, that's even better. lottie with dark hair and a streak of platinum, or the opposite, would look another level and i'm here for it! plus, the gloves... AAAAH THE GLOVES. she would smirk before taking them off and turning that grin into a determined smug expression before touching her enemy. PLEASE!
priya
TURNING - PEOPLE - INTO - GOLD. i said what i said. similar to medusa's power of turning people into stone. flowy dresses for the goddess looks, a smirk on her lips while she does it, and golden shiny eyes that glow bright when she throws her gold curse upon her enemy! she's goofy, so you know she has a cheesy catchphrase, but i can't think of anything right now. it's there, i just need to find it.
hope
mind control. CAN I JUST SAY? she practically has that power already. being persuasive and having the power of negotiation the way she already does would fit in perfectly. and if i may add, storm looks like the uniform and the "bright white eyes" while it happens???also! hope as the person who plans the attacks and defense.
marisol
persuasion. similar to allison hargreeves. one word and they will do it. at first i considered super strength, for being so unexpected to someone that petit, but if you account for her personality, persuasion as a super power is so much cooler! plus, she doesn't have to try hard, the seed of argumentation is already there. in her origin story you could have marisol having a moral grey area where she debates whether or not using those powers in court. i would love to see this dilemma and her going through it, since there's a clear distinction in what she considers right and wrong, and the ethically correct options to choose. as looks go, all she needs is a suit, similar to the prom one, and definitely a ponytail and gloves.
ibrahim.
flying and speed. something about rahim screams traditional super hero persona and i can't help but stir into it. he's perfect for the superman alter ego, the one that talks about justice and fights the big guy for the little ones. rahim has a way of going around and making people's lives better, at least that's how i see him. i asked for @itsrealityboo 's approval about this, because you know, she's the authority on golf boy, and she added something really cool that i hadn't thought about: "I will say that I could definitely see Rahim as a part of a team tho, like the fantastic four! I think because of his insecurities, he’s need some type of support system or even older mentor. He’d definitely go through that awkward phase of learning how to manage his powers if he wasn’t born with them lol"
i definitely agree after reading it, it makes so much sense! i don't know if that need comes from being the younger brother, or having those expectations at home (about being suave and all) but that would for sure be a part of his origin story as a superhero.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
in case you missed the asks i sent about superpowers, here is chelsea, by mango, and elisa, by kc

okay, so i posted about the story i’m writing and asked if anyone wanted to hear about it, and a couple of people responded that they did which makes me so excited because i love talking about this!!!
i’ll just start talking about my characters because they are literally like my children
my very traumatized children
alright
https://picrew.me/secret_image_maker/TUpt5gokcYbd7w1d
the picrew i used^
-
The main characters:
Prince Morgan Fox Chamari (I made the picrews a while ago, so they might not be up to date, but it’ll do for now) (also they didn’t have that many option for make up and stuff, so i just drew on a lot of it)
Tumblr media
He sounds like a snob but he’s really not
He’s 5’8, uses he/him, caucasian, pansexual, a leo (yes astrology is swag), he is way too nice for his own good, and trusts people way too easily (which might turn out to be a problem)
He has light brown, curly hair, green eyes, and he’s a prince, so probably like expensive clothing
Morgan does have magic, but I’m not really sure how it works yet, I only know that he kinda sucks at it at first, and he needs to find some kind of scepter to help him with it
Willow Ivy Stara
Tumblr media
5’1, she/her, black, aromantic asexual, a virgo, also a nice person in general, but she’s not an idiot about it, you know? She is probably the one that keeps the single braincell of the team in place
Dark, coily hair, dark skin, brown eyes, the prettiest smile you’ll ever see, and she likes wearing dresses and flowers in her hair! She’s also a very gifted healer (maybe i’ll talk more about powers in my world later)(because she doesn’t just have healing, she can do damage too (basically the opposite of healing) which is really rare in my world, but it also strengthens her healing powers)
She joined the team because she ran away from her parents, because they were forcing her to marry another healer (cus she’s aroace right) (and the other healer is a gay man who she later finds out also ran away, and joined the villain!)
Raine Dayla-Jules
Tumblr media
Probably the character I’ve put the most effort into, which also means she’s one of the characters who gets the most traumatized (love you Raine)
5’8, she/her, caucasian, lesbian, a leo, on the good side, but leaning towards morally grey, extreme trust issues, she is broke and homeless and a thief, says she is an orphan, but really just doesn’t want to get into her tragic backstory
Lots of blonde, curly hair, blue eyes, freckles, various scars all over her body (which she mostly gets through the story)
She had a normal childhood until she was six years old, when she was kidnapped (because of her powers, hydrokinesis and cryokinesis (is that what it is in english? idk, ice and water like a waterbender), she hasn’t seen her family after that (but she will at the end, I’m not that evil)
I mentioned enemies to lovers on the last post, and Raine is part of that<3
Ember Aurora Ilani
Tumblr media
The villain with redemtion arc, because every story needs that, but believe it or not she’s actually a pretty good person, and she does what she thinks would be the best for everyone
5’6, she/her, asian, demisexual lesbian, a scorpio, she has pyrokinesis (again, hope that’s the right word), and that’s where the arson i talked about comes from, occasionally borrows that one braincell from Willow
Like, yes, she technically is a good person, but that will not stop her from setting a house on fire on purpose
Dark brown, long and straight/slightly wavy hair, hazel eyes, tan skin, terrible childhood of course
Like, ‘older brother dying in a fire that she accidently caused, parents hating her and abusing her because of it, running away at age 10, becoming best friends with the villain’ kind of terrible childhood
The other part of the enemies to lovers! (Don’t worry, it’s gonna be a slow-burn)(the burning part might be literal)(but it’s gonna be fine, we have lots of character development and no power imbalance, they both hurt and help each other)
Hawke Edavine
Tumblr media
Typical badboy, poor but wholesome family, I might kill his dad though, because all of the main characters has all their parents intact
6’1 (I like that it’s a foot height difference between him and Willow), he/him, latino, straight (I guess they needed some rep too), a capricorn, probably nicer than he looks
Dark messy hair (like, think Percy Jackson), brown eyes, tan skin, bushy eyebrows, think about what a straight woman would find attractive in a man (what do straight women like? Flynn Rider? Think that, just younger)
Used to be best friends with Raine when they were like 11-14 years old maybe, but drama happened, they fell out, they will spend the first few chapter hating each other (also we all know and hate queerbating, so obviously I’m gonna straight-bait these two at first<3)
-
i think that’s all i had for now, but there’s so much more
if you read all the way down here, congrats (and also thank you?? i care so much about this, i love when other people listen)
like, if you wanna hear about the villain (aka Morgans twin sister, princess Sienna Aurelia Chamari), or about these characters, or other characters, their families, pinterest board of their aesthetics (yes i made that too) and also im currently trying to make playlists too, just please lmk because i will serve
i didn’t even talk about their body types or disabilties or mental health issues or other quirks or favorite animals or pets either, but just know i have it all
i just love this, hope you do too!

THERE’S A LONDON CONFLAYRATION OF SAVINGS AT MENARDS!
Tumblr media
Okay, these next four chapters each have their own title, so these are “The Screamer”, “Aubird Force”, “Gun Bullet” and “Baloon Fight”.   Seriously?  “Gun Bullet?”  I looked it up and yeah, it’s the name of a video game, like “Baloon Fight” and “Final Fantasy” and so forth, but it’s a stupid title.
Anyway, Milennium invaded London last time, and Alexander Anderson showed up with a contingent of assassins from Section XIII, the Iscariot Organization. They were ordered to stay out of the conflict, but Anderson found Sir Integra cornered by Nazi Vampires and just couldn’t stay out of it.
Meanwhile, Iscariot’s leader, Bishop Enrico Maxwell, is chillaxing on the coast of France.    Specifically, he’s on the opposite side of the Strait of Dover, which I guess puts him near the town of Calaism which is as close as he can be to London without leaving Continental Europe.   Point here is that he’s been monitoring the Millennium invasion of England very closely, at least when he’s not taking a nap.
One of his aides wakes him up to inform him of recent developments, including a vampire attack in the White House.  We don’t get a lot of details, but apparently Millennium got a Presidential aide to sell out their country in exchange for that sweet, sweet artificial vampirism, and they became a sleeper agent for the Major.  When I watched the OVA in 2016, I remembered some mention about something going on in the USA, but it wasn’t Millennium opening up a second front, it was just an isolated vampire attack designed to keep the U.S. distracted from the invasion of London.
And I guess this explains all those arrows on the big world map in the Major’s blimp.   His true objective has always been Alucard, and the attack on London is part of that plan, so everything else we’ve seen has simply been a means to achieve that end.  Earlier, the Major claimed that his Last Batallion of 1000 vampire soldiers was the equal to an army of one million humans, but they’re still not unbeatable.  If the RAF had managed to shoot down those blimps over the Atlantic, that would have put an end to their little pary before it could start, and if the U.K.’s allies could send in some bombers, they could neutralize Millennium pretty quickly, even if it meant turning London into a crater.   At this point I’m not sure there’s much left of London to save anyway.
But the Major took all of this into account, and that’s why he set up all these sleeper agents to activate at the decisive moment.    They disrupted communications across Great Britain, and they threw the U.S. into utter chaos, preventing Britain’s staunchest ally from interfering.  It’s probably safe to assume that they did the same thing with other NATO member nations as well.
Tumblr media
Maxwell isn’t too concerned about the United States because it’s just one vampire, and he’s already got people on the scene to take out that vampire if and when the situation gets out of hand.    See, Iscariot is the Catholic counterpart to England’s Hellsing.   They’re also a secret anti-monster force, but in this situation, Maxwell isn’t in any hurry to respond to this crisis.   As far as he’s concerned, this whole Millennium invasion works to his favor, so he’s letting things play out for as long as it continues to suit his interests.
Tumblr media
And so we have in the Hellsing story this threefold conflict.    The Major’s Millennium vs. Maxwell’s Iscariot vs. Hellsing’s uh, Hellsing.   In theory, Hellsing and Maxwell should be on the same side, but in practice they’re bitter rivals, owing to the schism between Catholics and Protestants.   Early in the story, we learned that there was a treaty between Iscariot and Hellsing, with each side respecting the other’s jurisdiction, but places like Northern Ireland are a grey area, and zealots like Anderson and Maxwell aren’t always respectful of the agreements, since they deem Protestants as heathens beneath contempt.   The difference between Maxwell and Anderson is that Anderson has a sense of honor, which is why he respects Alucard and Sir Integra as warriors, if not allies.
Maxwell, on the other hand, is solely interested in power.   He sees the carnage unfolding in London and seeks only to use this as a way to invade Britain and claim it for the Vatican.  It’s an interesting development, because he was the one who seemed so outraged by the traitors within the Church who helped Millennium during World War II.   Through his inaction, he’s helping Millennium today, but he doesn’t see any moral problem with that, because he’s still loyal to the Vatican in his efforts.
Tumblr media
So Maxwell’s ultimate goal here is to invade England himself, and he’s got an army of troops to do it.    I don’t know why they’re all dressed like Klansmen.   I could probably find out what these guys’ exact role is in this fantasy version of the Catholic Church, but suffice to say that these are roughly 3000 humans armed with anti-vampire weapons collected by Iscariot’s sister organization, Section III, the Matthew Organization.   Together, they declare themselves as the Ninth Crusade, and Maxwell is promoted to Archbishop as he assumes command of the force.   “Ninth Crusade” is based on the historical Crusades during the 11th, 12th, and 13th Centuries.    The numbering of the Crusades is kind of subjective, but the 8th Crusade was in 1270, and I guess Kouta Hirano decided that this was the last one that counted, so Maxwell’s party is number 9.
Tumblr media
One matter does give Maxwell pause: a report comes in that the H.M.S. Eagle is slowly moving towards London.   Recall that Alucard is stuck on the Eagle, and both Millennium and Maxwell seem to have written him off, but now he’s heading back to England.
But Maxwell isn’t worried because he also knows his advance squad, led by Anderson, has captured Sir Integra, and she’s Alucard’s master, so that ought to be enough to neutralize him.   Uh, not sure that’s how it works, but okay.   He orders his troops to proceed with his plan.
Tumblr media
Back in London, Anderson’s team have killed the Millennium troops who were threatening Sir Hellsing, but they lost about half of their guys in the battle.   Heinkel Wolfe wants to take Hellsing captive, but she refuses to submit to them, and doesn’t care that Heinkel is holding a gun on her.   Yumi suggests tying Integra up, but Anderson won’t have that.   He even goes so far as to order his team to escort Integra back to her home.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Integra’s home, it’s under attack.   Zorin Blitz has been sent to Hellsing Manor, but her orders were to wait.   She watches as the Major fires V1 rockets at the house, but then the rockets all get shot out of the sky.    What’s happening to all the rockets?
Tumblr media
Um, this happened, you Nazi assholes.   Seras Victoria’s up on the roof, shooting anti-aircraft guns like they’re small pistols.   Because she has vampire strength, you see. Also keen vampire aim, too.
Tumblr media
Downstairs, the Wild Geese are defending the building, and she and Pip Bernadotte banter back and forth.    Not sure why the manga translation calls him “Vernedead”.   Is that even close to a real name?
Tumblr media
Blitz realizes that they won’t last long against Seras’ firepower, so if the blimp is going to crash, it might as well crash straight into Hellsing HQ.
Tumblr media
Except Seras shoots grenade launchers at the blimp, causing it to crash before it can get close to the building.    Don’t fuck with Seras, is the moral of this story.
I’m a little confused about Zorin’s actions here.    I thought she was directly ordered not to attack, but then the Major fired on the manor instead, so that was what she was supposed to wait for, wasn’t it?    Any action she took afterward was in self-defense, as Seras would have shot her blimp out of the air whether Zorin attacked or not.    But I’m pretty sure Zorin defied the Major’s orders here, although I’m not quite sure how.
Then again, she does lead a ground attack on the Hellsing HQ next time, so this alone might be what the Major warned her about.    We’ll get there when we get there.

I’m unemployed and bored 😐 😅 so I did this. Maybe I’ll eventually write something based off one of these 😂
I played several rounds of the Torchwood game and the Doctor Who one (awkwardly by myself where I had teo hands of cards on opposite sides of the table😂). Then I merged some Torchwood and Doctor Who cards to randomly draw two cards and come up with random ships and then rank them.
I ignored the characters’ age and sexuality in the pairings since the cards were randomly drawn.
1. Lisa Hallett & Diane Holmes - I just feel good about it and can’t really explain it but when they came up together I could immediately see it happening.
2. Mickey Smith & Toshiko Sato - They’re both so nice and deserved better than they got on tv. ❤️ They’d be a great team and they have both loved someone who didn’t notice / was into someone else so they could bond over that.
3. Yvonne Hartman & John Hart
I really love Yvonne. I feel like her and John could be interesting. They’re both not quite good and not quite evil so they could be a very morally grey power couple 😂 Together they could conquer planets together 😂
4. Harriet Jones & Suzie Costello
Harriet and Suzie is a little similar to John and Yvonne in terms of their morals. Harriet and Yvonne were pretty committed to the country and both went out on Doctor Who in really memorable and moving ways and they both had issues with the Doctor. (Maybe Big Finish should bring Harriet Jones back next 😂) Suzie and John are both a bit murderous 🔪
5. Rose Tyler & Ianto Jones
I mean, they’re both nice and they’re bith in love with someone who will out live them and go on to live many, many more lifetimes without them. I feel like they’d be better friends though...
6. Tommy Brockless & Rhys Williams
I like both characters separately but can’t really see them together! I think they’re both just good people and they’re both brave when they need to be.
7. Jack Harkness & Donna Noble
Donna did really go for that hug and Jack wasn’t really into it. I love Donna and Jack so much 😍🥰❤️ but I don’t think they’d be good together. 🤷‍♀️
8. Andy Davidson & Gray
I don’t like it that much ☹️ Gray’s too murderous and Andy’s too nice. It could work in terms of Andy helping make Gray a better person or Gray slowly corrupting Andy and making him a much worse person but I guess I’m too into AndyxYvonne right now (or AndyxNorton and a little bit AndyxOwen).
9. Mary & Gwen
????? I’m not sure how that would work. I hated Mary for using Tosh like that 😡
10. 10th Doctor & Owen
I can’t really see them getting together. It would be cool if Owen was a companion (although I feel like his personality is so different from most of the other companions -he’s super pessimistic and sour in comparison to pretty much everyone else - but his medical skills could help)
11. Jackie Tyler & Nikki Bevan
I feel like they’d be better friends.
12. Adam Smith & Martha Jones
Adam was the most interesting villain in all of Torchwood (and most of Doctor Who) for me. The ability to just slip into people’s lives like that is terrifying (especially the situation with Tosh) and then planting bad memories (like with Ianto) or robbing people of some of their most important memories (like with Jack) is heartbreaking. So I loved the concept of an alien that does that and then I also hate Adam with a passion for all the pain he caused (even though they all took retcon later and forgot).

Alright folks, it’s been a few days now and I think I’ve finally gathered my thoughts together.( I’ll probably do a rewatch of the episode tomorrow so I’ll have all new opinions then)
Things I like  👍
Malcolm looking disheveled/like he's been awake for the last 37 hours and is running off of coffee and pure strength of will alone. It's a huge pet peeve of mine when characters are majorly struggling with something but still look picture perfect except for one little wispy hair out of place.
Edrissa not totally falling over herself flirting with Malcolm. Still flirting but in a more natural (for them) way.
Sex dungeon. Malcolm holding that cat’o nine tales. Good Lord. The only reason my brain didn’t fully burn out was that he kept on doing his ridiculous little dance. The adorableness evened out the sexy.
I have a thing for guillotines. Not a sex thing. They were a special interest of mine when I was younger and even though I've forgotten most of what I once knew I still get hyped when I see them.
Unhinged Malcolm in general is great. I like that he’s struggling. He’s human and he is coping poorly. I love that his actions have consequences!  (Sometimes at least)
Gil in physical therapy! Do I wish we got more than one episode of him going through recovery and physical therapy? Yes. Am I glad that they even lightly covered it? Also yes. (My partner was laughing from the other room because he heard me say "Daaaaang, he's looking good!")
Dani being genuinely concerned and caring about Gil. We know she sees him as a father figure and she cares about him. The insight and advice she gives him come from the heart even if it was kind of messed up and she almost did the exact thing she asked him not to do. (Also, I know I said she sees him as a father figure but daaaaamn I was getting some different vibes too 👀👀👀)
Bringing up current events. Right off the bat, Dani lets Malcolm know she's having a helluva time being a black woman and a cop in this garbage fire of an era. All the mentions of covid! And JT! Holy crap y’all, I knew they were going to address this in some way but having JT slammed against a wall by a racist cop was not what I was expecting. In a cop show where the lead actor/protagonist is white and the rest of his team is not, it would have been irresponsible for them to not tackle the systemic racism that plagues law enforcement. (also, side note, I am a light-skinned latinx person. I have dealt with run-ins with racist cops on more than one occasion. So have my family and friends. Sometimes leading to arrest, violence, and death. I have strong opinions about this. I fully acknowledge that cop shows are pro-cop propaganda. This is why I don’t watch many and am very critical of the ones I do watch. )
Things I didn't like👎
Again with the bad representation of ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy). I know it's probably me and two other people in the fandom that take issue with this but to go from S1 Ep1 where Malcolm goes off on the FBI after using the wrong terminology for his father to Martin failing to kill Jerry but giving him a good enough shock so that he suddenly speaks in full sentences bothers me in a big way. It’s knowledge whiplash. I usually love their representations of mental illnesses, therapy, and medication. They show the good and the bad and the misuse. And then they do stuff like this. This is the second time in the show ECT has been wrongly shown.
Malcolm not having consequences for his actions (I know, I put the exact opposite in the likes). What happened to the whole Malcolm getting arrested because he was being framed for Eddie’s death? Let's please not brush past this.
The killer only killed one person. This is a nit-picky one. I just wish he had killed more people. It felt like maybe at one point of the script he had killed more but because of the addition of real-world events, there wasn't room to fit them in. I'm blaming Fox as a whole for this. Give us an extended episode for season starters and finishers dang it!
As a whole, I think they did pretty good at packing so much in the episode. I know some people aren't enjoying the whole Malcolm Enjoyed The Dismemberment thing but I dig it. I like him being a weird, complicated, morally grey character.

𝙨 : getting the final three people to join her is proven to be much more difficult than realized, and along with that, seren is forced to deal with some realities before she comes to her final decision.
“ alright everyone, settle down, settle down! don’t keep me waiting! ”.
it was a monday morning, and dueling was the first lesson on the enormous timetable. it was why her nerves were much more jumpy than usual. it was also probably because her final candidate was present in the room with her.
the dueling classrooms were much bigger than most, huge as a lecture hall with a ten metre mat in the center where the demonstrations took place, where the teacher would often invite someone down for a short lesson. regardless of your class or semblance, it was not optional to skip dueling class.
it was perhaps the best subject seren had, as alchemy and engineering often tired her brain out to an extent where she would be unable to talk. she much rather preferred facing off a classmate in a clash of swords than anything else.
but her quest today was much more simpler than just a fight. in reality, seren’s attention was nailed to someone in particular, someone she desperately needed on her team to make this entire plan work. without a healer, they were as good as dead, regardless of their status and skills as trained fighters.
romeo and kailen had made their attempts at convincing alexander sallow to join them, both came back with disappoint written on their faces. and to add fuel to the fire, the last two members would only join if alexander managed to make it into the team.
it was all left to seren in the end.
the teacher who led the dueling lessons was no other than master lockhart, a close friend of the principal and a personal favorite of the girl, mostly because he often skipped her when it came to demonstrations. she could handle a fight like the next person but being observed critically perturbed her. the fear mainly manifested at the worry of messing up and being laughed at, which happened five or six times in the past three years and people tend not to leave her alone because of it.
today, of all days, however, they were speaking of something to do very closely to her semblance, as shown on the board behind lockhart.
speed vs power.
“ today, we’ll be doing something a bit different ”, lockhart announced. he, a man in his late forties, fortified as he carried himself with strength and purpose, truly could not be disliked even by the most complicated students. he was a fun teacher, one to leave you alone if you were uncomfortable and to accept if you were enthusiastic. he was a rather handsome man, with his blonde hair slicked back and a mediterranean smile dancing over thin lips. his eyes were truly remarkable, though. grey, a color of a wise man.
seren didn’t see any unfamiliar faces that day. she had actually walked to class with kailen and romeo after having breakfast with them, purposefully avoiding her father yet again but without ill intent, she just needed to stay focused.
among those faces, she also spotted the final three candidates, evangelos and perseus sat beside each other and alexander sat at the front, seeming rather uninterested.
seren didn’t get to peek for too long in fear that he had some sort of psychic semblance, but she got the impression that he was silent, distant and far from someone who could easily be convinced to join such a mission. but even though he looked stubborn, she needed the results. she needed to impress him, to get something across, and if it didn’t work, then she would have to approach him. and she wasn’t planning on being gentle.
lives were at stake, and if he didn’t want to join, then it was his loss. but it was worth trying.
“ speed and power, two opposing forces, as some would put it ”, lockhart began, motioning to the board. “ you can either have one or the other and when faced with someone with the opposite skill, you might find yourself struggling. because at the end of the day, they cannot top each other. ”
seren had heard of two soldiers in the past. one blessed with immense strength and the other with speed, and they made a rather impressive due what with the number of criminals they managed to take down. they left the military to become solo hunters, and ended up reducing crime rates when the people of the empire started to lose some of their previous morals.
the professor turned and glanced over his students, “ when these two meet in a fight, it is unlikely that one is going to top the other. they can both do some wicked damage against each other, especially if they’re at equal quality. so if you have two trained fighters representing one of these, and you force them to fight, they will not come out with at least some injuries. ”
someone behind seren suddenly blurted out a question, she recognized it to be a girl from her alchemy class. “ why are we learning about them, sir? most people tend to side with one skill anyway ”.
“ ah! but that’s exactly the problem. these two are just minor examples of an issue certain people have when finding their style of fighting ”, lockhart was quick to respond. “ they think they have to choose something to fit their look as a fighter. only fire magic, only ice magic. only big guns, only small guns. only power, only speed. folks, you’re missing the point! ”.
seren felt herself leaning against her desk a tiny bit more. lockhart’s lessons are the ones that tend to light up a flame in any ambitious and resilient fighter such as herself, she could see it through the eyes of her other classmates that the message was growing more interesting as the man spoke.
he carried himself to the center of the fighting mat, yet his speech never ended. “ the gift of being a hero is not just playing by the rules you see in old rpg games where you have the ice mage and the fire mage. no! reality is so much more fun, you can be anything you want and you don’t have to separate skills into two boxes ”, he looked among them and gave his usual smile. a comforting one, that of a man who had aged well and knew things that not many would imagine knowing.
“ you can easily have both. which is what i’m about to show you. i’m going to show you exactly what happens when you end up using these attacks together ”, he paused and looked among the students, and although seren quickly sunk back into her seat, it didn’t stop him from settling his eyes over her. “ miss armsend, if you’d please step up. ”
the girl sucked a breath in. the immediate shift of all the wandering gazes in the classroom landing on her triggered a dread in her stomach, yet seren could not simply reject the teacher’s demand if she wanted to keep being the perfect dueling student that she’s always been. her father wouldn’t be happy, and that was something she was not going to risk.
gulping, the girl settled with a smile and rose from her desk. teachers had access to the weapons that were kept in separate lockers, and since iron thorn had managed to find itself within lockhart’s grasp, something within seren told her he was going to pick her all along. he was a kind man, but not so when it came to dueling.
as she descended down the steps and paced onto the dueling mat, lockhart went around searching for someone else. “ as miss armsend has a speed semblance, i will need someone who majors more on the strength aspect of combat. maybe another swordsman, or a brawler . . . ”, whilst he contemplated, the girl familiarized herself with the grip of her sword, trembling in her uniform.
“ mr chrysanthos? ”.
oh you’re joking, right?
murmurs flooded out between the students, most of the attention turned to the boy sitting beside an amused perseus. seren glanced over her shoulder and settled her own eyes on evangelos, whose face gave nothing away. and that just made her tremble with a lot more fear.
evangelos was a brawler, and a fucking good one. tall, packed to the brim with muscle, and from what she was told, was always angry. it was why he could reduce people to ashes with his gauntlets, releasing out an ounce of anger through every punch and kick, trained seriously in martial arts and from what she could tell, he could crush her with his bare hands.
and the fact that the male stood and began to walk down to the training mat just made seren grow increasingly apprehensive. she was accustomed to facing her old man with his cane, and even at the age of fifty, years of experience in the military and a keen eye in combat, arthur armsend intimidated her less than evangelos.
one might say, she didn’t have to worry because she would not be fighting evangelos when he joins the team. the punches will not be directed towards her, yet seren was shocked to the core of fucking up here and spoiling her chances of impressing the male and losing a candidate. and with him, probably perseus as well.
she couldn’t lose this.
“ five minutes. i want to see a normal duel. knocking the person out is not the intention here, but pushing them to the ground is. regardless of power or speed, you’re useless if you’re on the floor ”, lockhart handed evangelos the gauntlets, which he equipped quickly. “ the rest of you can observe, and try to imagine what these two forces would be like when put together in a formal duel. ”
evangelos stood far from her, jaw clenched, disinterested as always. he seemed to have a similar strategy to her, of coating his emotions behind a poker face. however, it still felt like he didn’t have any worries to hide. he didn’t see seren as a threat.
and for obvious reasons, she felt the insult like a punch in the gut.
“ ready, set, and . . . begin! ”.
an explosion erupted long before seren could prepare herself and that came from evangelos lunging forward. he was quick! but what worried her more at that moment was how those gauntlets flared up with a red color.
with no armor or shield, seren relied on her speed. no essences were allowed to be used, so she shifted quickly. her semblance acts, well, quickly. you won’t really see her move, you’ll just find her in a different place at the blink of an eye. upon shifting, she found herself behind the male, but he cut through and turned right back to her. every bone in her body rattled with fear.
when the gauntlets collided with iron thorn, a sound thundered and shook the classroom, rendering both fighters stunned for a moment. thankfully, neither weapons showed signs of breaking, iron thorn was perfectly sharp and far from beaten. and nobody showed any signs of falling just yet.
given the position and the proximity, seren’s eyes widened when she swung the rapier hard enough to create that same auditory ripple that sent evangelos pinging back into the other side of the training mat, landing on his two feet, but not without some of those dark locks coming out of place.
thirty seconds in and seren felt like giving up. especially after seeing the seething rage erupting from the boy’s gaze, it could kill.
neither moved for a second, contemplating their chances and their moves and when they did move, it was in unison.
when evangelos threw his fist forward, she was expecting him to lunge, but he didn’t. from the other side of the training mat, seren witnessed a spark and cursed briefly under her breath upon realizing he had a ranged weapon, of which the shots resembled a shotgun, two that barely missed the girl, one cutting through a few locks of her pink hair.
when the third shot rang, seren was ready to receive it. the bullet came and almost within a sudden slowness in time, she lifted the sword in her hand and cut through it, and recoiled away just in time for the explosion to go off. had she stayed, it would have most likely shattered iron thorn in half.
the smoke cloud created engulfed the girl long enough to look down and peer at her sword, gleaming and steaming from having cut a shotgun bullet in half. in all honesty, she was not expecting the bullets to pack such a punch, and she could only imagine the damage it could do when facing it up close.
coughing through the smoke, seren prepared to be jumped, or prepared for someone to expect her to jump. yet she remained perfectly still, thinking deeply. her goal was not to demonstrate how speed could bide well with power, her only goal was to bring the boy to his knees and she could only do that with the skill she had. which was fine by her.
“ come on, armsend, i don’t have all day to play hide and seek! ”.
no response.
the next movement came in a series of blinks. the grey in which she had surrounded herself with was not disturbed when she breached through and spawned beside the male, before shifting again, and again, drawing a circle around him, almost as a taunt.
a taunt that most certainly worked, especially when the male groaned, turned to where she was going to shift again, and threw a fist. seren felt like she was going to feel the punch for the rest of her life, yet it never came as she expected.
because she shifted once more, this time, behind the male, fast enough to kick the soles of her school shoes against his back and sending him plummeting forward.
evangelos was not done, though.
to others, it happened at normal speed. but seren saw everything. she saw the way he turned before he could fall for certain, the way the gauntlet suddenly glowed with a heavy red, and the way the heat traveled in her direction. and if she blocked with iron thorn, she would have no weapon. so her forearms did the work.
the impact shattered against her forearms, first through the impact of the solid iron of the gauntlets, followed by a burning sensation that incited a bellow of anger from a usually silent seren.
as evangelos eventually met the ground with a grunt, seren felt her back scrapping the floor until she came to a stop. and when she did, the burning settled and with the lack of her blazer, the injuries became more obvious. students loomed over their desks and gasped.
her forearms were glowing with a bizarre redness, throbbing with agony that words simply couldn’t explain. the girl smacked a hand over her mouth to stop herself from screaming, yet once lockhart ran over to loom over her and check on her, he made the mistake of pressing his cold hands against the burning skin, and seren could not help the scream this time around.
“ relax, relax! it’s okay, come on, stand up. ”
despite the encouragement, the girl couldn’t go through with it. it hurt, it hurt like a bitch, it felt like someone had dropped lava over her arms and she was beginning to feel it in her bones, the tears had miraculously stopped before they could breach through the surface.
she had managed to complete the task but not before getting two giant burn marks of her forearms when trying to defend herself. great.
seren did not find the courage to look up once she was pulled to her feet. she already heard the gasps, the tuts, some laughs, and it was humiliating, to say the least. the redness in her ears could not match that on her arms.
evangelos had gotten himself up to his feet, face blank as always. the girl wanted to apologize for something so foolish, it was her fault for throwing herself into such an attack that she could have blocked with her weapon, but it was either her arms or iron thorn, and she was not sacrificing her rapier.
“ regardless of the injury, you saw it, folks ”, lockhart continued with the lesson regardless, keeping the two students on the dueling mat as he turned to everyone else. “ you saw the vibration that came from two powerful weapons coming into close contact, you saw how she was able to cut through an explosive and give herself cover, you saw how he slowed her down with those bullets. now, think of attacks like those put together. think of improving your speed to strengthen your power and vice versa. ”
seren didn’t look up when he motioned to her.
lockhart pressed on, “ many people have managed to incorporate both those skills into their weapons and fighting style. you will end up in teams one day and if there’s no one with those skills, you will be able to do wonders. there’s no use separating these repelling forces from each other, especially when you want to be a stronger fighter. ”
as they were allowed to chat amongst themselves, lockhart approached seren, clearly struggling to keep the tears in. he looked upon her red forearms and sighed, “ do you want to go to the nurse’s office? ”.
she quickly shook her head.
“ seren. ”
“ i-i’m fine, sir, really. it’ll pass. i’ll just ask someone to put some ice on it. ”
suck it up, nobody’s going to feel bad for making you cry on the battlefield, her father’s voice rang in her head louder than usual. she was a sensitive soul, she couldn’t mask her feelings as easily as others, most definitely when she was injured. her arms were burning and aching and she would rather someone chopped them off than have to face with it for any longer. yet seren stood, biting her lip, choking back the tears.
lockhart didn’t push. “ alright, return to your seat. thank you for your cooperation, miss armsend ”. with a nod, the girl kept her head down and shuffled back to her seat, walking past evan in an apologetic silence. when she sat down, only one person turned to her to ask if she was okay. she didn’t know how she managed to keep the tears in, but she did. smiling and nodding.
she was fine.
and besides, it seemed like her mission had made some progress.
from her seat, she could see alexander sitting down at the lower row, peering back at her with quizzing eyes. choosing not to stare him down, seren offered the boy a sweet smile and turned back to her books, even if she had no reason to. she was in desperate need of a healer right now, and this would repeat at some point in the future. she would need a healer then as well.
she needed alexander to be her healer. and injury or no injury, she was going to get him to join.
time skip . . .
“ i swear to fucking god, i’m going to kill evangelos! ”.
seren laughed shyly.
it was lunch time now, and her afternoon class got cancelled once her father heard of her injury. he said that he didn’t want her near anymore fire and so was willing to bring her out of alchemy class. it was embarrassing, she didn’t want it to be a big deal. it was her fault, anyway.
chatter had mostly died out yet some would occasionally look over at where they sat, most would roll their eyes. especially now. kailen sat beside her and was wrapping up bandages around her swollen forearms, listening as romeo rambled on and on through his meal, unhappy with the state of things.
any other party would claim she did it for attention, which she got, especially since she was being patched up by a pretty boy. yet her issue remained on evangelos.
she saw the frown on his face, a building frustration that made her quiver in fear. she would hate it if she got him into trouble, and it was why she came up to lockhart after the lesson and begged him to keep evangelos out of trouble and let her take the blame. because it was her fault.
she did it because of an inner quarrel of possibly breaking her weapon or breaking her arms and she chose the latter. if iron thorn got broken, she might as well just die on the spot.
“ he was going to fall anyway, so he saw it best to give her something else to deal with. a final move ”, kailen spoke for the first time since they arrived at the cafeteria. seren watched him go about his work quietly. “ it was just badly timed. it’s no one’s fault. ”
seren frowned, “ it was my fault. ”
a groan came from romeo.
“ seren, love, hear me out. nobody knew you were doing it to protect your weapon. looking at that sword, i can see it costs a fuck ton of money and time. i would rather throw myself in front of evangelos than have someone nearly break my beauty in half ”, he was speaking about his riffle, of course. “ and who asked him to throw that much of a punch? he was going to kill you! ”.
thinking about it now, seren couldn’t help but laugh.
she ran a hand through her hair and suddenly stopped when a few locks ended short. she recalled the bullet that had cut through her hair and her stomach was filled with dread again.
“ it was a duel, and that’s his fighting style. it just looks intimidating because that’s just how he fights ”, seren was quick to come to evangelos’s defense. he carried himself strongly through the fight, it was admirable albeit terrifying. “ it’s funny, something tells me iron thorn could have survived that. ”
kailen tied the ends of the bandage on her left arm and peeked up at her. “ then why didn’t you use iron thorn? ”.
“ because i wanted alexander’s attention. ”
that would have sounded very creepy if they didn’t know the context.
romeo’s jaw fell for a moment, almost to the point where the water in his mouth spilled. he choked and coughed suddenly. “ h-hold on ”, he gulped. “ you’re telling me you nearly shattered your arms because you wanted that idiot to consider joining? ”.
“ sympathy goes a long way. ”
“ seren, you sociopath. ”
the girl gave him an apologetic smile. call it stupid, something a sociopath or maniac would do, but seren could handle the pain if it meant she would have the results she wanted. sacrificing her comfort at the price of making the world safer was something she was willing to repeat a dozen times. she knew the injury would heal, especially if there was someone capable on the team to do just that, and it was why she was not worried.
she would be worried, however, if they didn’t have a healer. and the one she wanted was alexander, a boy she hadn’t formally met just yet but she knew she would eventually, especially after today.
the consistency of leaving the walls had been obvious within the top ten, and she doubted only one person would break that streak. they were young dreamers, surely he would show some interest. and from what kailen told her, he did hesitate before declining. alexander just needed a small push in the right direction, and she was willing to offer that.
“ all done. ”
snapping out of her thoughts, seren was met with bandaged arms and a fruit juice carton being held towards her by kailen. chuckling, she accepted it and enjoyed the short amount of time they had left till lunch was over. the two boys had to continue on with their lessons, meaning she would be left alone. it was alright, though, she could head off the library.
and when the bell rang, that was where she went.
the valhalla library was immeasurable in size, stacked to the roof with books of all sorts, most were history books detailing accounts of the old earth before the period of ragnarok fell upon them. ranging from world wars to killer epidemics that nearly rid the earth of humans, there was a lot on history but that was not what seren was searching for.
seren was not searching for knowledge nor aid in her exams, nor the comfort of a fictional adventurous or romantic tale. rather, she was searching for someone who had claimed the library as his domain.
the shelves were the same mahogany as her father’s desk, polished every day by the valhalla companions who were capable of floating or climbing or flying. she spotted ted-ee 012 carrying a seat of hovering books behind him, waving at her when they spotted each other.
non-fiction section, desk beside the window without a curtain. those were kailen’s exact words from yesterday and the girl made an attempt at not forgetting them, bringing herself to the said location where she hoped to find the boy who had been hiding from her this whole time.
and what do you know, he was there when she approached.
alexander had been the only boy she had not approached or spoken with, mostly in fear of being turned away. and after the day she had today, she didn’t want to struggle more than she already had. she wanted to leave the library with a smile on her face, and possibly get some rest for tomorrow.
being a healer, alexander and many others were posed with books and ancient scrolls with many enchantments, buffs and spells to learn that would come into effect when they came into combat with their teammates. it required time, energy, and a behemoth amount of patience as they cannot just be learnt overnight.
seren hated to interrupt him, so she didn’t. rather, she turned and reached for a random book within the shelves, and retrieved a book on monsters. dragons, to be more specific.
alexander’s table was empty of people, but it was covered in scrolls and sheets of paper in languages that she could not recognize, possibly ancient or made up ones related mostly to the work regarding clerics. ( another fancy word for healers. ) when she pushed the chair back and sat down as quietly as she could, the sound of her setting her book down still seemed to disturb the boy.
when she looked up as well and met his gaze, she offered him another sweet smile almost identical to the one she had offered that morning, and the boy swiftly returned to his studies. seren looked back, not wishing to disturb him.
the girl had the intention of talking to the boy eventually, but she allowed the comfortable silence in and began to enjoy the book she had randomly selected. the first few pages talked about the origin of dragons, the cultural depictions of them, versus the real life ones that people have begun to encounter.
they spoke about the different colors, the different breeds, the different sorts of treasure that the scaled beasts guarded, and the rarity of a golden dragon. seren had the imagination of a mere child, it was no wonder she began to daydream about her adventure even if it wasn’t happening for certain.
the grassy plains, the abandoned and crumbling pillars, abandoned castles, dense forests with trees of all colors, not to mention the dozen creatures they could encounters. faes, nymphs, maybe the very dragons that were so rare to find. maybe a unicorn, maybe a pegasus, maybe an alicorn.
seren read so many fantasy books growing up that she wasn’t certain any of those creatures did exist or if it was just a rumor spread around by bored military soldiers. but she remained hopeful.
fifteen minutes into reading, alexander suddenly cleared his throat.
“ does it hurt? ”.
seren took a moment to recall the burns. she closed her book for a moment, surprised to have finally gotten the male to talk. she lifted her two forearms with a curious tilt to the head, only to confirm that he was talking about them. when he nodded, she chuckled. “ no, not really. well, it did in the beginning. but now it’s kinda numb now that it’s swollen ”, shouldering the pain as she always does. in reality, she could still feel it aching perhaps ten times more than before.
alexander hummed, peering down at his papers. he seemed uncertain to talk, so she looked down, not wanting to take up any of his time. if he was forcing himself to talk to her, then she wouldn’t be happy with herself.
“ i’ve . . . uh, been working on this new healing spell. ”
seren immediately started shaking her head. “ please. i think i deserve this injury this time around. but hey, if we’re ever in a battlefield together, you can definitely help me then ”. was that too direct?
based on his confused reaction, it was. alexander looked puzzled, “ t-that’s weird, kailen and romeo both came up to me the other talking about the same thing. they want me to join a team or something. ”
“ yeah, they do. i am the one who asked them, after all. ”
the small oh from alexander caused a laugh out of the girl, the first proper laugh that day. his entire reaction was comical, from the widening of his eyes to the minor blush around his cheeks.
“ though ”, she continued. “ i will not be upset if you say no. well, i will, because i wouldn’t have the most qualified healer on the team. i would have to look for someone else, and lord knows how long that will take. and maybe by then, it would have been too late.”
with a minor pause to wince at the injury when she moved her arms, seren pressed on. “ i know the time and effort that goes into learning all of these spells and the pain of being seriously underestimated afterwards must suck. healers are essential ”, she voiced.
alexander mumbled softly, “ it takes me two nights to learn five spells. ”
“ see? it’s a lot of hard work ”, seren smiled softly and leaned back against her chair. “ we could use a healer like you, alexander. you’re powerful as hell, you’re second on the ranks, do you know how powerful that is? ”. the boy suddenly appeared shy. “ a prodigy like you belongs in a team of other prodigies. ”
“ i’m far from a prodigy. ”
“ oh, please! you’re amazing, alexander. my father talks about you all the time. but believe me, all this hard work is going to be for nothing unless if we don’t get up and do something ”.
their conversation came to a stand still when the librarian, a small and petite woman with a seriously receding hairline came over and shushed them whilst putting some books away. seren smiled apologetically and turned back to alexander.
she sighed, “ i’d love to have you on the team, alex. what good is a fighter without a healer to watch his back? ”.
the boy was conflicted, and she could very much understand why.
leaving the city would mean abandoning all previous beliefs of how the world worked and preparing yourself for what might be a major shock in your life as you see the planet for what it truly is, not for what others say it is. you’d face challenges that will deal with the mind, the soul, something that goes beyond bodily injuries.
and yet, she was able to shrug all of those worries off when she put her goal in mind. she wanted this because it would mean she could have a life when she made her return. a life of her own, not something relied on the decisions made by her superiors. it would mean freedom, freedom of choice. seren was willing to go through hell for that.
but some people weren’t, some people were scared but there was no use casting them back to their origins and letting them be scared for the rest of their lives. overcoming challenges such as these was the only way a human being can get out of the life they lied. and she wanted to encourage the boy.
“ i’d . . . i’d just feel scared of being out there. ”
“ as would i. as would anyone, these walls are the only things we’ve ever known. have you ever just thought about what lies on the other side? ”. the boy didn’t answer that. “ it could be paradise or hell. whichever it is, it won’t last for long with a wicked witch on the loose. and it’s going to take six idiots wearing their school uniform and carrying flamboyant weapons, so be it. ”
that was the first time she had seen alexander smile, and she had to admit, it was a pretty sight. she had manage to carve an opening through the timidity and glimpsed upon a boy who was just like her, but was scared. she wouldn’t mind helping him, though. they weren’t going alone, after all.
“ you’re very good at talking, seren ”, he said.
the girl shrugged, “ that’s odd, i’d say it’s what i’m worst at. i’m not even that great at holding a weapon properly. i’m not that good, believe me. i’m just really stubborn and really stupid. and really want to change the world. ”
he was the missing piece to all of this. she had gone through nights without sleep spent planning entire missions and methods of escape, hours negotiating until her voice was gone, and now her arms were burnt and swollen and she wasn’t going to give up now when alexander was right in front of her. if he said yes, then she would allow herself a sigh of relief.
if he said yes, then the journey would only begin. it wasn’t the end at all, nor even the very beginning, it was all preparation for something bigger, grander, far more important than anything she’s ever have to face in her life. she wanted to leave, she wanted to venture out, she wanted to carry herself with her own purpose rather than one that someone else had handed her.
seren wasn’t going to rest until this mission was complete. it was her purpose, she’d found her purpose and to give up on it now would be the biggest misfortune she could inflict on herself.
“ fine. ”
shooting up from her seat, seren grasped the boy’s hands and held them tightly. her eyes were glossy with tears already, “ really? ”.
“ y-yes, really. it won’t be easy. but i won’t be alone. and if it’s for a good cause -- ”.
“ -- then it’s all that matters. ”
her smile had never been brighter, eyes turned into crescents and cheeks looking rosier by the second. if happiness was embodied into one person, it was framed in seren’s figure at that moment.
alexander gave a smile of his own, though it verged more on the appearance of a smirk. “ so ”, he began. “ when do we leave? ”.

Lily liveblogs: “Resistance Reborn,” part four
When we last left off, Finn and Poe and friends were about to go to a birthday party for one of Maz's smugger friends who has the list macguffin they're after. Please note they're not actually crashing this party for once - Maz got them actual invitations, lol.
Meanwhile, Bratt the Brat comes back to the office and beats Yama to a pulp, only to be taken aback when his superiors commend her for her loyalty in reporting Monti's theft. But he's offered a chance to prove his loyalty if he can fix the mess, even though he's still in denial about Yama and Monti's true allegiances because he’s a sexist asshole.
The party is awesome - ocean and fish and rich people and smugglers, with the First Order providing security (??). Poe and Finn eat a bunch of sea-themed canapes and banter. It's delightful and I want entire fics of this instead of, like, three pages. They had to bring presents, and one of the other members of Poe's team got the gifts, so it's a surprise to him too when the birthday girl opens it, but it's a dwarf lylek, a spiky hermit-crab/praying mantis creature that stays small "as long as you don't feed it flesh".
The guest of honor is delighted because--who would have guessed?--she used to be an entomologist! I love her, and I'm kinda sad she's a throwaway character, because she's a member of the Collective, the Corellian techie version of antifa, which sounds wayyyy more interesting than the actual book.
(I was also hoping that the lylek would start devouring canapes when the First Order inevitably breaks up the party and the shooting starts, only for the lylek to get HUGE and start going after stormtroopers... but alas, no, that doesn't happen either. DON'T TEASE ME LIKE THAT, OKAY??)
There's an auction to get the list macguffin as a fundraiser for the Collective and Poe is trying to figure out what the trick is because they're rapidly running out of cash. CorSec breaks up the party in the name of the First Order, which is weird because I thought the FO was providing security, but whatever.
Wedge, Norra, Snap, and Tasa Nasz, the ex-Imperial badass, go to the shipyards to steal ships for the Resistance. There's a Baleen-class freighter, and I love it. They run into Yama Dee, badly injured from Bratt's beating, and we learn that Yama is 15, so Bratt isn't just an abusive asshole, he's a child abuser, ughhh. Our heroes are rightly incensed and vow to help Yama, who is uniquely positioned to give them what they need.
Leia and Rey are sitting around on Ryloth, when... Rey has a bad feeling seconds before the First Order starts taking over (for totally unrelated reasons) and the Resistance forces have to GTFO.
Back at the party, the birthday girl is devastated because her husband was shot in front of her, so she agrees to give Poe the list macguffin for revenge (it's hidden in her jewelry in the form of a snake, which is a nice touch). They jump into a pool to escape the FO, and Finn hauls them out. Poe is afraid she's lost the necklace, but it turns out to come when called, which everyone agrees is awesome.
Bratt attacks the FO officer accusing him of treason and runs back to his office to track down information about Monti the Traitor--only to find Wedge and company with Yama and the escaped prisoners (including Leia's old political friend). Yama confronts Bratt, who denies everything, and Yama is appalled when she realizes she's parrotting his exact same arguments, that she is becoming the same as her abuser.
They fight, only to be interrupted by Teza, who is unsympathetic when she learns Bratt is the one who beat Yama in the first place. She tells Bratt he has a choice: either let Yama continue the beatdown, or she shoots him. Bratt is aghast at the idea of letting Yama beat him, so Teza shoots him and he bleeds out on the floor in astonishment while everyone else walks out. Leia's senatorial friend tries to offer him a hand up, but Bratt bats it away and dies alone and confused.
(Please note that the main reason the ex-Imperial comes along seems to be so she can be the agent of divine justice without our "good" heroes having to get their hands dirty. For all that ST fans like to talk about "edginess" and "grey Jedi" and "moral complexity" in TLJ, this is still Star Wars and our heroes don't shoot (usually) shoot people at point-blank range and leave them to die even when they're assholes.)
Wedge and company meet up with Poe and company, who have lost their own ship, so they steal a FO shuttle and escape with the prisoners and the full list. Since Ryloth is no longer safe, Poe makes a deal with the Collective for a safe haven in exchange for the rest of their credits.
Leia and her old friend have a tearful reunion. Poe makes an inspiring speech about scattering to the winds to become the spark that will burn the FO down. I don't know how much sense that makes in terms of strategy and tactics, but everybody is impressed. Poe has overcome all his angst about Crait and is happy to be--in charge? Second in command? I have no idea how the chain of command even works right now.
Wedge and Norra leave to do their own stuff; Snap wants to go with them, but Poe won't let him. Finn says he's coming with Poe, and that's Rey's cue to show up.
"Where are we going?" Both men turned to find Rey, looking expectant.
Finn grinned. "I didn't want to ask."
Rey grinned back. "You didn't have to."
The two friends laughed, leaning in to touch shoulders in acknowledgment. Rey looked at Poe, eyes narrowed as if unsure. "You don't mind?"
Poe pressed a hand to his heart, giving Rey a small bow. "I'm honored."
She flushed, pleased as he'd hoped she would be.
This is great, and I love it, but this doesn't have as much emotional resonance as it could have because THIS IS LITERALLY THE SECOND TIME IN THIS BOOK THAT ALL THREE OF THEM HAVE BEEN IN THE SAME ROOM WITH EACH OTHER AND REY AND POE HAVE SPOKEN TO EACH OTHER and so it feels like... it wasn't really earned??
Leia is smiling at the three of them in satisfaction because "the Resistance is in good hands" and "she's got us".
Poe slung an arm around Finn's shoulders and pulled Rey in close on the opposite side.
"That's right, Poe said. She's got us.
"Now let's go and save the galaxy."
Again, this is all A++ good, but I don't feel like any of this has been earned. At all. Like, does Poe know anything about why Leia believes in Rey, what Rey can do? They're just all friends now because of Finn even though Poe and Rey barely know each other?? Is he this affectionate with everyone?? I don't mind this closeness, but... it would have been nice to have more of this earlier so it doesn't feel so out of the blue and forced.
Also, what did this book accomplish? So the Resistance has some ships now. It has a few more fighters, they freed a bunch of influential prisoners from the New Republic that the First Order had taken into custody, and they have a list of current and future targets to warn. And they're not dead yet, so that's good.
But Leia and Rey barely got to do anything in this book, Rose is barely there at all, and Finn is only tangentially involved at the end. Most of the plot features Poe, Wedge, and occasionally other characters like Bratt, Snap, and Dross Squadron.
So despite the marketing, which makes it sound like this is an All-Resistance Adventure featuring our main trio, I would say Poe is the protagonist, because he's the only one with a character arc: moving from depressed and angsty over the failed mutiny at Crait to letting go of his failures and moving on to be a leader. There's also a smaller arc with Wedge moving from retired warrior and active farmer back to warrior again, but it's much less nuanced.
Outside of that, though, the book feels like it's tugging in too many direction and not going anywhere near the ones I find most interesting. There are lots of characters I'm expected to care about who are not in the films, and little in the narrative itself makes me want to. (The only reason I know about Leia's friend, for instance, is because I read a summary of Bloodline on Wookieepeedia.) It feels like Disney made a very deliberate decision to make all the plotlines 100% more convoluted and confusing than they needed to be, just so you'd read/buy all the supplementary material, and that is a... choice, I guess. But it makes me grumpy.
Honestly, if I wasn't writing a ST fix-it fic, I wouldn't have bothered with this. I found Resistance Reborn to be adequate, but mostly unexceptional, and occasionally frustrating. The few really delightful bits are when major movie characters are together in the same room, but that is weirdly and woefully rare, and I honestly do not understand what the story group/Disney was thinking here in not making those the meat of the book.
Question: who is Disney's target audience for this book? I'm honestly not sure, and I'm not sure they know, either, and I think this book demonstrates that. Which is... really weird for a billion-dollar corporation intent on milking every last cent out of the franchise, that's all. I don't get it.
TL;DR:
The Good:
Stormpilot feels (brotp or otp depending on your preferred ship)
the Collective (Corellian techie antifa)
Poe’s fabulous hair
fancy dress party heist
Wedge’s garden and space chickens
barely any mention of Kylo Ren whatsoever
The Meh:
loads and loads of characters that are not in the movies and therefore hard to keep track of or care
macguffin plot macguffin
cooler plot threads and story ideas are teased and never followed up on (in this book, at least)
The WTF:
movie characters barely interact with each other
assuming they have a role at all
does any of this matter?
feels like filler

Character(s): dark!Bucky, later dark!Steve, too
Masterlist
Warnings: this is a dark!fic, it contains non/dubious-consent elements. Some violence as well at the beginning. It goes without (and with) that this is 18+. In this chapter there’s not much but a set-up for the next. We'll go over warnings then.
Summary: The reader is invited out for some after-work drinks.
Notes: Okay! Sorry about being a bit late today but as promised here is another part! Hopefully, everyone saw yesterday's and is all caught up, if not you can always go back and catch up! And wowee, we're already on part 20! Thank you all so much and please leave a comment if you read :) !
The rest of the week saw Bucky at your apartment nightly. You weren’t sure what was going on but you didn’t dare to ask. If you did as he wished, he was pleased, even close to amiable. You found that if you behaved, he did what he wanted and left you with a few hours to yourself. You treasured that alone time and it was worth the momentary distraction. When he was done and you were alone, you felt empty; a mixture of physical longing and feeling of exploitation. The satisfaction never lasted beyond the act itself; after you couldn’t help but deflate, stewing in resent for him and disappointment in yourself.
Friday used to be a day of celebration for you. Those times seemed a distant past. You would hang with Allie or go home and order take out and watch something on Netflix. Now, you were too enamoured in anticipation and dread to focus on that. What use was it when it could easily be interrupted? It was worse when you were ready for a quiet night in only for the your solace to be shattered. Even so, you stared at the clock and waited for your cue to leave. Another hour...it felt like forever. What exactly were you so eager for? Based on the the last few days, you were to expect another visit from Bucky. You flipped back to Pepper’s emails which included forwards of every email sent to Tony. You guessed he had left so much on her plate that she needed to spread some onto yours. What were temps for but grunt work? That’s all you ever did. Down on your knees for Bucky every night, as good as bending over backwards for Pepper. You really were taking it in both ends. Your mind strayed again and you found yourself fixated on daydreams of a metal arm flexing around you, familiar grunts in your ear, an almost comforting sensation flowing from your core. You snapped up and touched your forehead in shame. No...he could have your body, but your mind was still yours. That small part of you was still there; you weren’t truly his, you were merely biding your time, but for what?
“Y/N,” A voice drew your head up and you masked your dilemma with a smile. Steve approached, Bucky not far behind. Not good. “You alright?”
“Fine,” You lied, “I was just working. It’s a bit repetitive so I was resting my eyes.”
“I imagine it’s very exciting,” His hands were on your desk as he leaned on it, biceps peeking out from beneath the sleeves of his tee. He was dressed more casual than usual and you couldn’t help but notice the lines above the vee of his shirt. For once, you were the one distracted. “Me and Buck were just about to grab some drinks, you wanna join?”
You glanced behind him and Bucky nodded, a smirk plain enough. You suspected this wasn’t entirely Steve’s idea and that stoked your anxiety. What was he playing at? You scrunched your lips and looked to the monitor. “I’m here until 6 today,” You said, hoping it was enough of an excuse, “I really can’t just leave.”
“No worries, we’re just headed down the street to Luis’,” His eyes strayed to your chest, admiring the top of your cleavage just visible above the frill. “We’ll have a drink and you can join us for the second round.”
“I don’t--”
“Come on, Y/N,” Bucky stepped forward, just opposite Steve and you felt like a cornered deer. “It’s Friday. You should get out, have some fun. I mean, me and Steve, we get our kicks out in the field but you just sit here all day and...type. One drink won’t hurt, will it?”
You looked between the super soldiers. This was not an invitation, this was an order. Steve was so hopeful, his eagerness underlined with his more sinister intentions. And Bucky was determined. You couldn’t say no unless you were prepared for the consequences and you suspected those were worse than whatever it is he had planned. Besides, he never asked, he told. “Sure, why not?” You tried to sound normal but you couldn’t help the jagged response. “I’ll just finish up here and head down when I’m done.”
Bucky winked and turned to Steve who grinned back at him. There was collusion in their eyes but it could very well just be the recognition of two adversaries. “Alright, see ya soon,” Bucky chimed, “We’ll keep a tab open.”
You mumbled a goodbye and watched them approach the elevator, pulling on their jackets as they disappeared behind the metal doors. You sighed and brushed back your hair as you leaned against your chair. What the fuck? You were prepared for Bucky but not both of them. Surely it was just another scheme to watch you squirm, you told yourself. You’d end up going home alone, if only to have Bucky follow, but Steve was just another pawn. Wasn’t he?
You did all you could to delay your departure for the day but you knew if you kept them waiting, Bucky would make you pay for it. That had to be the reason you were growing so anxious. It was fear, not excitement. Right? Right? Oh, fuck, you were going crazy. You left your jacket open as you walked the chill New York sidewalk, heels clicking as you hurried along. As you stopped before Luis’ shining red lights, your legs wobbled and you felt a peculiar pluck deep down. No, just one drink. Nothing more.
You stepped inside, wary of the other men along the bar who watched your entrance. This wasn’t exactly a joint you frequented. In fact you had avoided it for the shabbiness of its facade and the fact that you rarely saw any female denizens going in or out. It was a greasy corner in the heart of downtown with more than its share of regulars and unshaven drunks. This was like that tavern in London where that guy had shoved his hand up your skirt on that summer trip with Allie. Fond memories, indeed.
You spotted the two men in a booth near the back of the bar. You sidestepped a few reaching hands on your way to them and felt almost thankful when you came upon their table. “Hey,” You said quietly, looking around yourself to make sure no groping hands hovered behind you.
“Ah, just in time,” Steve stood and waved his hand to the curved bench around the table, “We saved you a spot.” You stared at the seat he offered, closed in between the two of them. Reluctantly you accepted it, sidling awkwardly around the table and to the space on the cushion. Steve sat and blocked you in, motioning to the waiter who sported a long grey ponytail and a greasy leather vest. “We’ll have a second round and whatever the lady wants.”
“Water is fine,” You smiled sheepishly.
“Whiskey for her,” Bucky corrected, “May as well unwind, Y/N.”
You resisted sending him a glare and just nodded, the waiter moving sluggishly to fulfill the order. You were starting to sweat already, trapped in the body heat of the men book-ending you in the booth. “Take off your jacket,” Steve said, “Stay a while, won’t you?”
You gave a weak laugh and peeled of your coat, Bucky swiftly moving it to lay atop his and Steve’s on the end of the bench on his other side. “So how was work?” Bucky prodded, leaning on his arm as if genuinely interested.
“It was work, I guess,” You could feel tendrils along your neck, the blush burning your flesh. “You two having fun without me?”
“No, but I’m sure we’ll have more now that you’re here,” Bucky smirked and your eyes nearly popped out of your head. You felt like the entire bar could hear the conversation and it was as clear to them as it was to you that this wasn’t just an after work get together.  Your whiskey arrived and you reached for it in your desperation. You hadn’t wanted to compromise your senses but the tension was overwhelming and your nerves were wild. You had to keep yourself from draining the glass entirely, lowering your glass and exhaling shakily. Steve and Bucky were watching you closely.
“Well, you must be thirsty,” Steve mused, stretching his arm across the bench behind you as he sipped from his beer.
“Working for Stark will do that to ya,” Bucky kidded, “How are you liking it?”
“It’s fine,” You shrugged, resisting the urge to finish your whiskey. This all seemed to casual. A farce.
“Come on, it must be exciting. All the people you get to meet, aside from the heroes like us you see almost every day,” Steve teased, “I mean, me and Buck are nice enough, but the others, they’re a bit--”
“Pompous,” Bucky added smugly.
Boy, they were really quite the team. Two murderers who fancied themselves crusaders. Sure, they used to fight the bad guys but now they were the bad guys. Ever since the Sekovia Accords had been overturned and Stark Industries had become entirely privatised. For every genuine criminal they were sent after, they killed a dozen civilians on behalf of the same brand of thugs. I guess money made morality an afterthought.
“Yeah,” You forced out and gulped back the rest of your drink. “It’s definitely the most famous company I’ve worked for but there aren’t many bigger than Stark himself.” Bucky squinted at you, catching the subtle jab. He wouldn’t forget that.
“Well, me and Steve were just talking about something that happened with Stark today.” Bucky began, “We were testing new armour, it’s good stuff; lightweight but it does the job well. Or at least we thought…”
You listened to Bucky and Steve as they told of the fiasco, soon trading war stories back and forth with little interjection from you. When the waiter returned, Bucky ordered you a double, then another upon his next check in. You were downing them out of nervousness, the burn of alcohol growing less as you tried to sink into the bench. You were giggling at Steve’s recount of Bucky getting his arm stuck in a wheel well when suddenly the attention turned to you. You suddenly remembered where you were and who you were with.
“Another?” Bucky asked as you found yourself sipping from an empty glass again.
“N-no,” Your words were almost slurred but you kept it together. “I think maybe I should have that water now.”
“Oh, Y/N, it’s fine to just kick back once in a while,” Steve’s arm was once more behind you, “We don’t mind.”
“Really, I like this side of you,” Bucky added, “Giggly and laid back. But I do wish you would speak up more.”
“How rude of us?” Steve announced with exaggeration, “We’ve been here talking all about ourselves. I mean, come on, we didn’t invite you hear just to sit and listen to two old men banter.”
“Surely not,” Bucky’s metal finger tapped on his glass. You stared at the half-finished beer and tilted your head. You couldn’t recall either of them ordering past their second round and yet your glass had been refilled on a loop. The suspicion quickly faded into the tipsy haze behind your eyes. “Actually, we were hoping to learn more about you.”
“Such a quiet little thing,” Steve’s voice was dusky as he leaned in, your head swiveling between them as they spoke. You were starting to get dizzy.
“I’ll start,” Bucky nearly sang, “Well, I mean there’s really only one question that I have.”
“Can I please get a water?” You asked, a hiccup rising in your throat.
“Here,” Steve pushed over his beer, “Have a sip of this.”
You hiccuped again and accepted, wanting to rid yourself of the bubbles more than anything. As you drank daintily from the pint, you realized both men were staring at you expectantly. “Anyways, what I was going to ask is…” He raised a brow, pausing dramatically before continuing, “Do you want to fuck Steve?”
You choked and the foam splashed in your face, causing you to slam the glass on the table. You were certain your drunken mind was betraying you, but the two men assured you otherwise. Their thighs were suddenly flush against yours, you felt as if you were crushed between them. Steve’s hand played with your hair and Bucky’s hand rested on your thigh. “Wh-what?” You tried to resist them but their touch felt so nice. “I…”
“Be a good girl and answer the question,” Bucky warned. You realized that this was a conspiracy. Maybe Steve didn’t know that Bucky had been fucking you for weeks but he certainly knew that he had some sort of hold over you. You suspected their conversations about you had gone well beyond the single kiss you had shared more than a week ago.
Your mouth opened and closed, you gulped and steadied your breath. You bit you lip before running your tongue across it as you steeled yourself. “Yes,” You whispered, trembling at the confession. Surprising even yourself.
“Hmm?” Bucky feigned deafness, “Sorry, I can’t hear you.”
“Yes,” You said more firmly, almost growling at him. Your drunkenness was not enough to mute your anger as the humiliation washed over you.
“Well that can be arranged,” Bucky smirked as Steve’s hand ran the length of your arm, “Right, Steve?”
You heard a dark chuckle in your ear and Steve’s lips graze your cheek, his chest pressed against you. “It can,” He confirmed, “What do you say we go back to mine for a night cap?”
You stared at Bucky, Steve’s hand slipping down and cupping the top of your ass. “I think she’d love that,” Bucky smiled, turned to grab your jacket and handed it to you. “Well,” He stood and Steve removed his hand as he mirrored his movements, “Shall we?” Bucky offered his hand, staring you down until you took it and stood, letting him guide you out from behind the booth. He let you go, walking behind you as you followed Steve, who dropped some bills on the counter along the way. The other patrons watched your exit and you were certain they knew everything. Hell, it must have been plain enough as you couldn’t wipe the dazed look from your face.
You stepped out on the street, Bucky came up beside you and wrapped his arm around you. He bent to whisper in your ear as Steve led the way, “Good girl,” He cooed, “You remember your rules.”

WENDY SANDERSON ( YARA SHAHIDI ) is a 16 year old JUNIOR student at Broadripple Academy. SHE is originally from JAMAICA PLAIN, MASSACHUSETTS but moved to Broadripple 1 YEAR ago. SHE is EXCITABLE and EMPATHETIC but can also be CLINGY and IMPATIENT.
1. Full Name?
Wendy Shohreh Sanderson
2. Preferred Names or Nicknames?
Wendy, Wends, Wendybird — she likes ‘em all!
3. What does their name mean? Does it have any significance in their family? Do they like their name?
Ripped straight from the internet: “‘Fwendy’ means, simply: friend. The second meaning of the name Wendy (“fair-skinned, blessed”) dates before Barrie and likely comes from a pet name for Gwendolyn. These elements come from the Gaelic words “gwyn” (holy, white) and “dolen” (ring).” When Wendy was born, her grandmother chose her name. As Peter Pan was one of the first books she read in English, she was attached to the name Wendy. Wendy as a character in the book was polite, well-mannered, and forgiving. This Wendy hits maybe one to two on a good day, so it works well enough. Wendy likes her name because her dad called her Wendybird growing up, whereas her sister Eleanor just got plain ol’ ‘Nell’. It made her feel special. Plus, while she doesn’t care much for Barrie or his story, she can relate to Peter Pan’s love of fun and youth. So, hey, no real complaints here!
4. Age and Date of Birth?
16 / June 21
5. Gender and Pronouns?
Cis Female, She/Her
6. Hometown?
Boston, Massachusetts — specifically in Jamaica Plain
7. Does your character fit into any well known archetypes or tropes?
Oh man, uhh. Sort of whatever Britney Murphy’s character in Uptown Girls was, in the “growing up is gross :(” sense. Daydreamer. Poetry lover. She has a head-in-the-clouds vibe. The chatterbox. Actually, with this talk of Peter Pan, uh, yeah. Bit of a Peter Pan!
8. How long have they been at Broadripple?
Wendy has been at Broadripple since the beginning of her sophomore year.
9. What led them to apply to Broadripple? Was it a decision made by them or by their parents/guardians or somewhere in between?
About two years ago, her family came into a solid chunk of change. Wendy’s mother Bahar is a nurse and caretaker. Over the past decade, she had been taking care of a wealthy elderly man in the Back Bay. When he passed, he unexpectedly left her some money in his will. Wendy’s parents almost immediately decided it would be invested in Wendy’s education. Her dad’s parents wanted her to receive a Catholic one, and her dad wanted Wendy to practice some independence, and so Broadripple came up in their research and she was off. Wendy’s hand in the decision-making process was decidedly minimal.
10. Whether they’ve been at Broadripple four days or four years, do they enjoy it? Do they like Broadripple?
Wendy enjoys Broadripple in that it’s fun to romanticize a bunch of old buildings. She enjoys creating narratives about and daydreaming of students of the past among the hallowed halls more than she does doing group projects. The school itself is too far-removed from society for her to find it particularly scintillating, but she’s making do! She’s a pretty positive person, though undoubtedly impatient. But she’ll admit it has its other draws. Their reputation is near-flawless—disregarding all that spooky shit, which she personally finds cool and intriguing, since the endless forest has some real The Witch vibes—and it bolsters a lot of interesting clubs and classes she can be a part of. The longer she attends, the more uncomfortable she is with the wealth of her peers, as well as impatient with those she deems rude and snobbish. She also has a habit of falling in love/developing crushes easily, often, and recklessly, and Broadripple certainly doesn’t have a shortage of attractive people. It’s a real gold mine, there.
11. What house are they in? Do they care very much about their house?
Wendy is in Keough. She likes the sense of belonging and the camaraderie, real or imagined.
12. Who do they share a dorm with, or are they on their own for the moment? What are they like to live with? Are they clean or messy? Early risers or night owls?
At the moment, Wendy is on her own! So that leaves her to be as messy as she wants — and she can be very messy. One side of her bed is for sleeping, the other is for trash, textbooks, homework, magazines, etc. If she had a roommate, I imagine she might drive them a little nuts with it. In general, I’d say she is more of an early riser. She’s someone who is somehow simultaneously lazy and restless, so she likes to get to bed early to veg out on her laptop with a bag of goldfish and then she’s up early to get her day started.
13. How is your character’s dorm decorated? Is it bare or bursting at the seems with personality? Any particular sentimental items from home?
Wendy is a proponent of the opposite of minimalism, which is Clutterbitch. She has various knick knacks and pictures and posters, as well as plenty of bins and storage to keep all her products, books, snacks, etc. There is no surface left untouched, let’s say that, and most likely a string of fairy lights somewhere. She also has a couple half-dead plants by her window, a Lykke Li poster on her wall, and a collection of postcards from her sister who travels around the country with the nonprofit she works for.
14. What is their favourite subject at school? Do they even have a favourite? Why?
Wendy’s favorite subject is Literature Analysis. She enjoys it because it is something of a creative outlet; she firmly believes there’s a lot of leeway in how things can be interpreted and she enjoys interpreting things ad nauseam. She particularly likes when they cover poets, but none of that boring classical white guy stuff. She’s more of a Toni Morrison-Mary Oliver-Anne Sexton-Jeanette Winterson-Gwendolyn Brooks type.
15. Are they involved in any clubs? Which ones?
Wendy is a member of the Chamber Choir, Women of Broadripple, and Yearbook (writer).
16. How does your character feel about Broadripple’s Unofficial Clubs? Do they know about them? Are they a part of any of them?
BBC: Gag! Like, morally. But if anyone hot happened to pay attention to her and let her borrow a pen one day, then who knows skjdn.
Chastity Club: Old School(TM). Pass!
BAU: Sign her tf up! She’d definitely be a member.
17. Does your character participate in any sports? If so, what made them join the team?
Noooope.
18. What afternoon activities does your character do? Do they just do the one mandatory one or are they involved in multiple? Why?
Wendy is involved in two afternoon activities, because she likes having things to do that aren’t burdensome and people to talk to. She’s involved in photography (she’s not very good but she’s having fun and hey, isn’t that what matters?) and the seasonal musical production. She is always a member of the company, never a lead, and again: she’s here to have a blast! Maybe look a bit foolish now and again. It’s NBD.
19. Do they miss their home when they’re at Broadripple? Do they often go home for the weekends or do they only go home during holiday breaks?
Wendy misses home a lot. She misses the noise and bustle and even the grey griminess of Boston. She misses her neighborhood and her neighbors, including (but only a teeny tiny bit) the annoying college kids encroaching on in. She misses her grandma’s cooking and her dad’s booming laughter and the smell of her mom’s perfume. She’s a very sentimental, clingy person. It’s hard for her to be away from the people she loves. Every once in awhile she’ll take a Greyhound back home for the weekend.
20. Did your character know Izzy De Santis or Maggie Monroe?
She did not know either of them. Maggie was in her year and maybe they shared a few classes but they never really spoke (*wendy voice*: the vibes were off), but she is totally wigged out by their disappearances.
21. Has your character heard of Edith Lynch? Do they know the story?
Wendy has heard of Edith Lynch and she has heard the story. After her parents chose Broadripple, they came across it in their research and they had a little sit-down talk about it because they’re a bit dramatic as hell. It was mostly to keep Wendy from using it as a reason not to go and involved the refrain of “it was thirty years ago, you’re gonna be fine, go memorize the Commandments.”
22. How does your character feel about Nighmore? Have they noticed the recently closed shops yet?
Wendy thinks Nighmore is pretty boring, but she definitely knows the shops in and out in search of entertainment. So she’ll have noticed some are closed. Bit sus!
23. Have you made any aesthetic Pinterest boards/WeHeartIt collections for this character? Or playlists? Anything you would like to share!
THIS is Wendy’s pinterestboard. I hope to post a playlist of songs she listens to soon.
Let me know if you’d like to form a connection or plot. I’ll be throwing up a connections page ASAP.

My thoughts on the conflict between TangYi and ShaoFei, the tone of HIStory3:Trapped  and how conflict and reveals get presented
Disclaimer: I love this show, I think the acting is great and I am very excited that the production team challenged itself with a more complex story than past HIStory seasons, upped the production quality and overall seemed to pour all the heart and hard work into this. Never forget that I love this show even though this might come off as very critical. Me nitpicking at a piece of media however doesn’t mean that I don’t like it (I seldom waste my breath on bad-mouthing something I didn’t enjoy unless it personally offended me), it only means that I enjoyed it so much that I spent hours thinking about the plot and the characters and generally had a lot of feelings.
        - spoilers up until episode 16 -
Now that the show has only 4 episodes left to air I wanted to take some time to sort my thoughts and feelings.
Overall, I really do enjoy this show, especially the acting, the chemistry between Chris and Jake is stellar (not to leave out Andy and Kenny, I just don’t think I’ve seen enough of their story to comment too much on them yet) and the  brilliantly written romance of TangYi and ShaoFei.
In the beginning the premise sounded tropey and fun and I didn’t expect them to seriously tackle the issue of a cop falling in love with a criminal because the trailer, while being action-packed, looked too light-hearted.
The show however took a surprising twist.
Sure, much of what happens is not realistic: the crime rate in Taiwan is famously low (we had one too many shootings and violent deaths on the show to match with the statistics) and I am pretty sure ShaoFei drawing his gun at TangYi every chance he gets in the beginning and not facing any backlash doesn’t comply with police protocol at all.
However, when they introduced the whole background story of TangYi I started to take the set-up more seriously. Prior to this I thought that I just had to suspend belief in order to enjoy the cop/gangster romance aspect of the show and to be able to ignore any ethical issues that might arise with such a dynamic.  But introducing him as this young adult who’d grown up into a life of crime and no choosing of his own, who tried to cut ties with the criminal world because of a promise he gave to his foster father made me rethink the tone of the show and I started to believe that they would honestly tackle the ethical issues of the relationship between ShaoFei and TangYi.
Trying to live an honest and upright life doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to stop committing crimes on your way to achieve that goal (and I am pretty sure that HongYe setting up that business is textbook money laundering) but I liked to believe that revealing TangYi’s motivation would mean exactly that. Because this promised a challenge, suspense and a struggle worth watching.
Refraining from committing crimes and dismantling his organization while upholding his front as a stone-hearted mob boss would result in much more difficulties when interacting with gang members and trying to not get overpowered by enemies. TangYi would be too powerful otherwise. Most of the problems he has encountered on this show were connected to him trying to protect people that are dear to him, a task that is much more complicated to accomplish when you cannot resort to violence.
Additionally, I don’t think I could root for TangYi and ShaoFei as a couple if TangYi doesn’t try his best to not hurt other people. Not only because ShaoFei is a policeman, there are enough corrupt or misguided policemen around, but because ShaoFei is introduced to us as someone with strong convictions and an even stronger sense of justice and upholding the law. And to me it didn’t seem like his character arc was set-up for him to delve into a moral grey-area or even to switch sides with TangYi. I thought that his journey would be to fall for TangYi and accept that not everyone is necessarily entirely good or evil and having to grapple with his senior being not the person he thought she was. This does fit in with the latest revelations that the police chief with whom he has a kind of father-son relationship is indeed not the good person we thought he was.
I have no idea how ShaoFei could deal with the idea of TangYi being capable of hurting people when it isn’t done in self-defense and if there are other, albeit more difficult, ways in which he could’ve taken action.
Especially because in the reality this show creates the problems a cop/gangster relationship entails don’t get entirely glossed over. Yu Qi reminds ShaoFei in the hospital that him and TangYi cannot be together, not because they’re both men, but because of their professions. (To be honest the only real beef I might have with this show so far was the weird love is love” analogy that they freely applied to a gangster/cop relationship. I don’t think it was in any way intentional but reversing that thought might lead the viewer to the conclusion that you are either born into a certain profession or you can choose your sexuality...which is definitely not what the show wants us to think, I hope.) Even earlier on ShaoFei denies that he could have developed feelings for TangYi on the basis that they’re playing on opposite teams. So we have to assume that the show acknowledges the ethical problems of this romance in general but somehow conveniently forgets about this conflict when it should have an impact on the characters behavior. This is especially bizarre because the only function of those scenes then is to act as a tool to not make as forget how cold and ruthless TangYi can be. Because he is a gangster boss.
After revealing TangYi’s backstory on the mountain top I got more excited about the show because I thought I’d understood in which direction they wanted to take the main romantic plot and what kind of tone they wanted to set. The show would be slightly more serious and solemn than I anticipated but I welcomed that approach because it would make for an interesting show while not excluding any possible humour.
However, immediately in the next episode I had to start and rethink my assumptions. By now the low respect for rules on the police’s site and dilettante approach to their job started to stand out, however I was willing to not head those details that much attention because most tv series, even mainstream crime shows, mess up the actual technicalities of the jobs they’re trying to portray. ShaoFei’s fever dream on the mountain however took the disconnect with the previous episode a little bit further. The scene overall did fit in with the humour of the show but the way it was acted out and shot didn’t make it look like an organic part of the rest of the series. However, the scene just left me with a small nagging feeling and wasn’t anything that really bugged me.
My feelings for the show however got tested a bit when TangYi beat up that henchman. I was so convinced that the main conflict of the show would be TangYi trying to maintain is image as a gangster so his gang wouldn’t find out that he is trying to dissolve the organization while having to abstain from using any violence. Something that is made even more difficult by the police getting involved and the mystery from 4 years ago looming over him.
I truly believed that TangYi being left alone in that room would turn out to be a ruse to shake up Ah De (whom, as we later find out, he was already suspicious of). It also made me hope that Wang Kun Chen might have not actually died but that his death was faked in order to go after both the criminals and any corrupt policemen (I will come back to his death later on). But afterwards in a talk with Jack it gets confirmed that TangYi indeed beat up the henchman. This course of action didn’t surprise me that much but to be honest I was just disappointed with how straight-forward and unexcitingly TangYi dealt with Ah De and possibly some other close people going behind his back.
The intention of the set-up with Old Tang’s wish was only based on my assumptions so I can’t really feel that let down by it, but TangYi beating up that henchman threw me because I thought we were supposed to read more into Old Tang’s request and conclude that TangYi would have to live through a constant internal struggle.
In general, I don’t mind when unrealistic things happen in a series, however there has to be an internal set of rules that gets followed and scenes and characters have to make sense within the reality the showrunners created.
To me it is curious that TangYi doesn’t think that he has to adjust how he acts in order to disentangle himself from a life of crime in some scenes but in other scenes suddenly cannot take action in a certain way because of the same reason (mostly when it becomes urgent to eliminate direct threats). It is always up to ShaoFei to actively stop him from committing crimes and we never see an internal struggle. Sure, the task got imposed on him by Old Tang and TangYi doesn’t seem to be propelled by intrinsic motives but due to his emotional connection to Old Tang I’d have thought that he would really have to constantly struggle mentally and physically to refrain himself from using violence.
That does, in no way, mean that I wanted this show to be less dark. I think there’s still a lot of room for even more cruelty and angst even if the main character tries his best not to use violence. The whole set-up is very sad, the element of corruption could also lead to emotional distress at how hopeless ShaoFei’s investigation is, drug trafficking in particular comes with many victims, the betrayal inside the gang and every parental figure in this show either not living up to expectations or being outright abusive are also heavy subjects they could lean into even more. Heck, ShaoFei’s whole investigation and the police’s involvement raise the stakes because there is the possibility of capital punishment for drug offenses in Taiwan. We also have to deal with the fact that TangYi most definitely committed heinous acts in the past, the same might go for Jack. All in all, there are still many options left to make this show even more grim and bleak.
In the end it is up to the writers how they want to spin TangFei’s romance but to me it seemed like they were laying the ground for a different approach to the story then what actually played out. While I am not mad at this show (as I said before this is me nitpicking at a series that I highly enjoy) at this point I don’t know whether I can trust the hints I pick up because I don’t know if it was the intention of the writers to built-up a storyline or if what they did was totally arbitrary, or if they indeed simply forgot what they established in earlier scenes (this is where I had my problems with Hong Ye’s attack on ShaoFei and Ah De’s assault of TangYi. HongYe was introduced as more intelligent than that planned attack was and Ah De’s premeditated assault didn’t fit with his goals and the way he crossed the line earlier on).
This back and forth on characterizations, storylines and tone does confuse me quite a bit and is the only thing so far that made the show fall slightly short of what they could’ve accomplished with more consistent writing.
- - - - - -- - - - - - - -- - - - -- - - - - - -- - - - - -- - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Which leads me to how the show is dealing with its reveals. So far, we have the mystery from 4 years ago that still needs solving, TangYi’s real parents’ identity which got revealed in episode 16, Ah De not only being in love with TangYi but selling drugs behind his back, Jack’s identity and real motivation, who really killed Wang Kun Chen, Ah Zi being up to no good and finally the police chief being dirty.
I enjoyed/am enjoying all of these plot-twists, some were more obvious than others but again, the writing of how these things unravel or got revealed is very inconsistent.
I will start with our mystery men. The reveal I enjoyed the most was the police chief being a dirty cop. It pretty much came out of nowhere but now a lot of his actions do make much more sense, especially how he didn’t give much support to ShaoFei and how he was mocking about with his work which I initially wrote off as missing motivation instead of passive sabotage. It also gives us enough room to guess his motivations and to whatever conclusion we might come to, it fits perfectly into the story so far. He might have needed money, or averting his eyes might have led to bigger consequences than he expected, now he is scared to lose his job because his daughter is marrying, or he worked too long in the force so he decided to side with what he felt was the most harmless kind of corruption to be able to focus on the big fish. What is important is that regardless of his motivation his past behavior fits with the reveal and added excitement to the show (to behonest at the moment I kind of lost interest in what happened 4 years ago because it is both obvious and confusing at the same time). Ah Zi was an okay reveal and the general topic of corruption in the work force and presumably good characters turning out grey or bad is pretty interesting but how his identity got revealed with those taunting shots of a man in a jacket were somewhat lackluster. They only spanned over two episodes before the reveal and were pretty on the nose. I would have loved it if they’d built-up his betrayal over more episodes with secretive shots of money and drugs exchanging hands where we couldn’t be sure if we were just shown the inner workings of TangYi’s gang or outsiders trying to get their hands on some extra cash.
Again, two similar reveals came about very differently and with a different kind of depth and detail to attention as well as being tied into the show organically and not so much.
This change in style doesn’t do much good in my opinion. Jack remains much of a mystery even though we need at least some hints in order to root for him and ZhaoZi. Instead their scenes are sweet but not that telling and they never just appear in the background to tie in their romance at all times. There were missed opportunities and many scenes that they could’ve been in finished without them and we went two whole episodes without them. Hong Ye and DaoYi had the big advantage to be present in many of the main couples’ scenes so their romance felt very well written and satisfying. I wish they’d spend even more time and attention to detail on Jack and ZhaoZi because with the added mystery element to Jack’s persona I really need more to get emotionally involved.
Again, I am confused as to how deep the show wants us to analyze its characters’ actions and how tricky the story really is. Ah De selling drugs behind TangYi’s back was mentioned only in a throw-away line and we are to believe that TangYi wouldn’t act more guarded or cautious around Ah De? Are we supposed to question that Jack killed Wang Kun Chen? If so, why was TangYi supposed to get fraimed for his death when it was a set-up by possibly the police? If it was as straight-forward as it’s presented I have my problems with rooting for TangYi/ShaoFei and ZhaoZi/Jack because it would be the first kill since the start of the show and setting up TangYi and Jack as unredeemable in ZhaoZI’s and ShaoFei’s eyes (see my huge paragraph about violence above). If we are supposed to scrutinize the show on the same intricate level as the police chief’s betrayal, some of the other reveals fall flat and are just not on the same engaging level.
The same goes for the messaging: are we to believe that Ah De’s actions were despicable? Wouldn’t we have to apply the same rules to Jack kissing ZhaoZi?
Overall I wish this series was written more tight-knitted, intricate and consistent in tone and message. Because I believe that this otherwise very entertaining story could’ve only benefitted from that.

MJ3 Clones
Based upon a tumblr post that I can no longer find (the link is dead)
https://callmeawota.tumblr.com/post/85499142124/what-if-prison-hope-was-just-a-prison-full-of
What if in Majisuka Gakuen 3, Prison Hope is just a dumping ground for out-of-control government clones of the MG1-5 cast?
__________________________________________________________
The story begins the way it ends – in a dreary ramshackle pub sandwiched between two concrete buildings.
Two people sit on opposite sides of the tattered booth couches, a middle aged man with peppered hair in a grey suit, and a young woman with in bob haircut and a pair of wiry spectacles. The man appears friendly, fingers strumming on the splintered wooden tables, sipping on piss-poor beer in a questionably murky mug, while the woman eyes the stack of papers in front of her dubiously.
“That’s it?” she asks, skimming through the sheet in front of her, “You’ll give me thirty million yen for some skin and blood samples?”
“That’s all there is to it Maeda-san,” the man replies smoothly, “Just sign the contract and we’ll have a team come to collect the samples at your convenience, and the money will be deposited in your account on that very day.”
Now Maeda Atsuko may be a former yankee-delinquent, and she might not have been the most studious student in her schooling career, but she definitely isn’t stupid. There has got to be more to this than what they’re telling her, and that’s not even counting what they could possibly be planning to do with her DNA samples. News articles about scientific research looking at what caused all of the random abilities that started popping up in people about thirty or so years ago flash through her mind. Abilities like Black’s super speed, Gekikara’s endurance and Torigoya’s psychic hypnosis.
Atsuko never thought she had an ability, because in her mind, super strength has always been associated with lifting trucks and buildings, and she definitely cannot do that. Then that news article came out about some big scandal where a medical company was found to be experimenting on people with abilities, trying to replicate them. In particular the story was focused on a girl who had augmented strength, nothing flashy like the movies and TV shows, just strong enough to have a weird discrepancy between her muscle-mass and the amount of power she could exert. The realisation hits Atsuko like a train – a girl her size probably shouldn’t be able to hit as hard, or get up after taking so many hits like she does. She cuts back on the cage fighting, and the bodyguard jobs after that. No need to be flashing ‘I’m a powered person!’ sign with neon lights over her head. Apparently that didn’t work out too well because there’s a supposed government agent sitting across from her trying to get her DNA samples.
“And what exactly are you going to do with the samples?”
“I’m afraid that’s classified Maeda-san. You needn’t worry yourself over trivialities like that. Rest assured that whatever happens won’t be your responsibility at all.”
Long story short, there isn’t a single good thing that can come from giving this shady (potentially non-government, because who is this cheap-beer-drinking guy think he’s fooling?) organisation her DNA.
But it’s not like she has much of a choice.
As it turns out, being arrested and charged for assault doesn’t do much for job prospects. Particularly when there’s been a colourful history of violence and delinquency before that. So no matter how hard she studied, Atsuko never quite managed to land that job as a nurse. Casual retail work, and odd cash-in-hand jobs barely manage to keep her afloat all these years, but now…a hand subconsciously ghosts down to her stomach…she’s not feeding one anymore.
The choice isn’t difficult to make.
________________________________________________________________
Atsuko assumes that they’re using her DNA to study and replicate abilities.
She’s dead wrong.
This company has decidedly bigger aspirations.

________________________________________________________________
Subject MJ#080397 Alias: Nobunaga | Parent DNA: Matsui Jurina [Center] |
Verdict: Great Success* | Sentience: Self-Aware | Status: Locked-down, constant visual monitoring required, termination pending|
Subject MJ#080397 was originally the most successful cloning experiment completed to date. The fighting prowess had been greatly improved compared to the original, and attitude adjustments were able to successfully stamp out all of the unwanted aspects of the original’s personality, such as arrogance and impatience. However, as time went by and re-evaluations have been completed, it’s revealed that the subject retains the original’s stubbornness and noble streak, and will not be cowed into compliance. The subject is supremely dangerous and must be kept separate from the general population to prevent it from organising the rest of the clones into a resistance.
The Mind-Wipe protocol has been deemed a failure, as the subject continues to be non-compliant even when confused and disorientated from the lack of memories, which exponentially quickens in its recall after each mind-wipe.
*Note: Great Success was the initial verdict after the subject proved to be superior to original in combat, however the status was revoked after the subject’s repeated disobedience and failure to comply with orders.
_______________________________________________________
Subject KY#110296 Alias: Peace | Parent DNA: Kizaki Yuria [Magic]|
Verdict: Success | Sentience: Almost-Aware| Status: Closely monitored, bi-weekly check-in|
Subject KY#110296, self-named Peace, is one of the more successful clones created in the project. The original’s fighting prowess has been replicated successfully, reports do indicate that it may even be slightly improved, barring the preference for trickery, which seems to have been a trait nurtured by the original’s environment and upbringing. After several failures, it was discovered that the clone responds positively to parental encouragement. After negotiating with the contractor, several memories were implanted into Peace to create the illusion that she is the daughter of the prison warden. The results were an extreme success with exponential improvement in emotional, mental and physical states.
Notes: Due to the subject’s psychological requirements, it needs to be kept partially aware under false pretenses of being the prison warden’s daughter. If the truth, or simply the falsehood of being the prison warden’s daughter is revealed, it may have detrimental affects on the clone’s effectiveness.
 ____________________________________________________________
Subject IA#031295 Alias: Annin | Parent DNA: Iriyama Anna [Yoga]|
Verdict: Great Success | Sentience: Semi-Aware | Status: Closely monitored, fortnightly check-in|
Subject IA#031295 has been deemed an extreme success. Its fighting prowess has been recorded as a vast improvement upon the originals. However, the special ability that the original possesses has not been able to be successfully replicated in any clone. Researchers speculate that Yoga’s so-called distraction ability was nothing more than exaggerated tales.
The subject is generally compliant and well behaved, however it has been noted to be asking certain questions in recent weeks. Close monitoring must be kept upon the subject to ensure that it does not become aware.
Notes: The subject has developed a sadistic streak, monitor to ensure that it does not become a liability.
 ________________________________________________________
Subject SH#300394 Alias: Paru | Parents DNA: Shimazaki Haruka [Salt] & Maeda Atsuko [Maeda]|
Verdict: Moderate Success |Sentience: Completely Unaware* |Status: Constant monitor, visual confirmation at all times |
With the failure of Subject MA#71091 attributed to mostly too much willpower inherited from the original (Maeda), researches have decided to create a clone using the spliced DNA of Maeda and a more apathetic parent. This resulted in the creation of Subject SHMA#300394.
Subject SHMA#300394 must be kept under the Mind-Wipe protocol at all times. While replicating Salt’s fighting prowess is still a work in progress, the subject has been deemed a considerable success, and is the most powerful clone created to date. The subject is however, not deemed a complete success, as it is wilful, and has developed all of Maeda’s passion, and none of Salt’s apathy, and thus far had been kept sedated, or mind-wiped in order to be kept pliant.
*Note: Ensure that subject remains UNAWARE. Subject is impossible to control when approaching any status beyond ‘unaware’.
 _________________________________________________________)
Subject KR#120295 Alias: Nanashi | Parent DNA: Kawaei Rina [Bakamono] |
Verdict: Failure | Sentience: Unaware | Status: Monitored remotely, annual check-in |
Subject KR#120295 or ‘Nanashi’ is a complete failure in every way, barring physical health. Replication of the original’s fighting prowess and super strength ability could not be achieved. It’s been deduced that the parent’s fighting capability was likely due to environmental factors, such as trauma in her life that is thus far mostly unknown.  Trial and error of introducing trauma to the subject early in its life cycle resulted in a clone that is too anxious and frail to be of any use in combat.

2019 T.v. show Tracker
Part 2
Animes
Mo Dao Zu Shi
Tumblr media
Finished it. Read the novel. Checking out the Cdrama (The Untamed). Obsessed. Watch it, it’s worth it.
Currently watching season two! Jing Ling is so precious and all the chibis are SO CUTE!
Dororo
Tumblr media
In progress (~episode 20) - Love it so far! Excited to see where it goes!
Update: Dororo was always precious but I just appreciate this child more and more as the episodes continue. I really enjoyed the lighter episode with the opposite village and the swordsmaster. Also, I am glad that Itachi finally died... but tbh I can’t hate him. Dororo is soo forgiving, my precious child.
Edit: Completed. Enjoyed the story and the way that it was wrapped up.
My Roommate is a Cat
Tumblr media
Completed - Loved it! Super cute, fluffy and touching. Fun to watch! Really enjoyed the show and REALLY want more! Please make a season 2!!
Fruits Basket 2019
Tumblr media
It’s definitely doing its job of hitting the heartstrings true to Fruits Basket lore (I loved the manga). That opening (1) tho is so depressing really setting the mood for the show I guess... I’m excited for more and aware of the pain that is yet to come. But I am excited (and hopeful) to see them do justice to the plot this time. Update: s1 is almost over and I really enjoyed it!
One Punch Man
Tumblr media
Loved it!! Finished season one! It was way too short... Will watch season two when all the episodes come out! I actually found the show to have a lot of parallels with The Disastrous Life of Saiki which could be the reason that I enjoyed it so much. I really don’t know how all the fans who watched it when it was first released could have waited so long for season two.
Ruroni Kenshin
Tumblr media
Randomly started it cuz I was planning on watching it for a while and it was on Netflix so I thought - why not. Liking it so far but I haven’t gotten very far yet so it’s hard to form an opinion atm.
Dramas
Bad Guys
Tumblr media
Completed - Good Binge.
It was very addicting, very interesting premise that captured my attention initially. It’s a good binge, but around episode 10 the show, the show sort of fizzled out for me. The hitman’s storyline (Jung woo) was a bit too melodramatic for my taste and was a bit off-putting, however I absolutely loved the psychopath’s story. That definitely kept me hooked throughout. One huge plus of this show is the action, and it is a lot of fun to watch if you don’t think about the show too much.
Gibo to Musume no Blues
Tumblr media
Completed - Loved it!  I’d highly recommend it!
This show was so adorable and so sweet and fun to watch from start to finish. I really enjoyed this slice of life and the warm stepmother and stepdaughter relationship throughout the show. It was very heartwarming to watch. I loved how all the characters were treated with respect and didn’t seem like hollow caricatures, I liked the relationships portrayed in the show and the general warmth that this show had throughout.
I am still not over what happened to Ryoichi :( , but I can say that I absolutely loved every single character in this show. The baker definitely grew on me more and more throughout the later half of the show and he became very lovable. Overall, this was a great drama that I am glad I checked out!
Children of Nobody/ Red Moon Blue Sun

Completed - Loved it! 15/10 would recommend!
This drama was really really gripping. I like how the story didn’t feel very formulaic, and I admit I was quite unsure what was going on in the first 2 or so episodes. But once the plot line was set in motion, I was along for the ride. One huge reason for that is probably the main character Cha Woo Kyung, she won me over very quickly and her backstory was very intriguing. I also really like Yi Kyung’s character as well as his team, though it did take me a while to warm up to him. The children all did a phenomenal job as well - I especially like Ha Na and Si Wan’s acting.Si Wan is another huge factor that kept me watching, the child actor did a great job!
One thing I definitely appreciated with this show was how morally grey all the characters were, it made them more relatable. If I were to compare it to similar mystery/crime kdrama’s I’ve seen, I think so far this would rank the highest - the plot was engaging, the characters were interesting, there was absolutely ZERO focus on developing a romantic relationship and the topic - abuse (child primarily) was handled well.
Her Private Life
Tumblr media
Really loving Ryan Gold so far!! He’s actually super considerate and kind? Love it! Quite like the female lead as well. Love her relationship with her best friend, they are absolutely adorable! Not too happy about what I heard about the Eun Gi thing where they did the Reply staple of making the viewers assume that he’s her brother only to find out he’s interested in her romantically and that they aren’t blood-related... why is this trope so popular? This reminds me a lot so far of Reply 1997.
Update: show is moving on in a very cliche way... extremely predictable so far. Will maybe stick w it bc I love Ryan’s character and the couple are adorable. TBH I didn’t start this for the plot. Another gripe that I have is just why do kdramas always do the thing where the main couple are meant to be and met during their childhood? I don’t get why that’s so popular... But I do respect the fact that Ryan’s real mom did not abandon him and that arc was resolved quickly.
Overall, it was better than a lot of other dramas in this genre and it was done with much less unnecessary drama. I appreciated how the side characters were handled and liked that they were given time to have their own sub-plots. A decent show all in all.
The Fiery Priest
Tumblr media
Loved it! I like the mix of the action and comedy that was showcased in the show. I found this show to be very similar in the plot structure, comedy (to an extent) and characterizations to Chief Kim so I enjoyed the show a lot and had a pretty good idea of what to expect from the show. It’s a fun show that keeps you hooked for more, and like Chief Kim don’t expect any romance between characters to really develop.
Angel’s Last Mission: Love

Shin Hye Sun is just gorgeous, omg. She’s also a really good actress. I really liked seeing her in this role coming out of watching Still 17 to see the sheer difference in personality. I am enjoying the contrast. Also, I like her chemistry with Myungsoo. I don’t care for the second lead nor can I bring myself to empathize with him. I also am somewhat disappointed with her family sub-plot because so far it seems pretty cliche so I’m hoping for a plot twist or two.

Project S The Series: Spike

I FINALLY finished it! Really loved it. Great acting, loved the pace of the show and how realistic it felt. I really liked watching the team come together and grow together. The few female characters were a delight - Jern is so lovable and adorable. Bright is very sweet and does a lot for the team. Puen’s relationship with the entire team was interesting to see - his strong bond with Singha and now Than, his relationship with Jern and ofc his friends. Than’s relationship with his dad was also portrayed realistically right til the end. It’s a good watch, and I’ll definitely re-watch the series.

So addicting, waiting for the last episode to be subbed. Please get subbed!
Update: it was subbed! Finished it! Enjoyed the drama overall. A nice mystery/friendship/slice-of-life one. Be warned that although there is a bit of mystery it is mainly a slice-of-life/friendship drama.
The Untamed
Tumblr media
I enjoyed it overall (tho I did end up skipping over some episodes). I thought that it was a faithful adaptation to the novel considering the censorship issues. I love how they took out a lot of the explicit gay but still somehow made parts of the show gayer. Also I LOVE fairy. Fairy is an adorable fluffball that owns my heart <3.
DNF - He is Psychometric
Melo Suits Me/ Be Melodramatic
Tumblr media
So... they really made one of the cutest love stories tragic huh. I’m really enjoying the show so far, I love the friendship between the main 4 leads. I am interested about the industry and I like the balance that the drama has with its humour, friendship, love and slice-of-life elements. I really like the actress and her manager couple they are so cute! I kind of wish I have more cute mother-son moments with the kid so hopefully in a future episode.
Update: Finished it! Liked the ending overall, had one minor qualm. I really liked the Director (Yeller) that was introduced. He was an unexpected delight and I love his dynamic with Eun Jung. I did like that they did end up subverting a romantic relationship and left it platonic. That was unexpected.

Season 6 - Finally finished it! Lot of fun, and enjoyed watching yet another season of the show. I really enjoyed their Cinco de Mayo heist this year and thought that was a lot of fun. I personally didn’t really feel Gina’s absence too much though her going away words were cute near the beginning of the season.
Broadchurch
Tumblr media
Completed - Completely binged season 3! I love this show!
I forgot how beautiful the cinematography in the show was! Their little village is gorgeous. It’s a bit jarring to watch it after a year or so because my memory of season 2 of Broadchurch was quite hazy. Nevertheless, I absolutely love this show. This season was very different from the previous ones, and it had a good build up but the final reveal of the culprit was quite... predictable. However, there was a twist that came with the reveal that came completely out of the blue. I liked the way Alec/D.I Hardy and Ellie handled the issue at hand and set an example of how cases of rape should be handled within the police force. It was also really nice to see Beth’s growth, the vicar and what Maggie were up to! I also enjoyed seeing Alec and his daughter’s relationship grow. Too bad its cancelled... here’s hoping that one day they’ll renew it.
Stranger Things season 3
Tumblr media
I personally liked it a lot more than season two because I felt that it had more growth from the characters. I liked Eleven’s character growth and how the dynamic of the relationships changed and seeing the kids grow up. But, I’m definitely getting a bit tired of this show... because although I did enjoy this season, I still feel that in a way it was redundant.
Derry Girls s2
Tumblr media
I loved it! So funny. So adorable. Love the characters and the ridiculous situations that they put themselves in (or are put in). Sister Michael is still my fave, her lines are always pure gold.

Trying to keep track of it as it is airing on CBC. I missed the second episode :( But I watched episode 3 and the foreshadowing for the residential schools omg

REVIEW // RWBY | 6.2 | “UNCOVERED”
AKA the moment when all the slashfic writers remember that these girls are still only in their mid-to-late teens. Awkward.
Welcome in to my review of Volume 6, Chapter 2, entitled “Uncovered”.
In this episode: Confirmation for the great sages of the fandom who’ve seen promotional material, Why the magic lamp is a magic lamp, and A stupid new character.
Ah, this was fun. See, if this were my show, I would be digging deep into the “female who is mostly attracted to women” bag to write a scene like this. But it holds up on its own, I think.
Tumblr media
SOME BIG THINGS BEING UNCOVERED, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN … SORRY
When was the last time any singular episode of RWBY posed so many questions of its primary narrative without a whole lot happening? Maybe at some point in Volume 4, but the show now is in a very different place compared to those days.
I would have to estimate that about eighty percent of this episode is spent on providing exposition for the heroes’ story, whether it be on what our crew of protagonists are attempting to do by taking the Relic (of Knowledge) to Atlas, what the Relic (of Knowledge) even does, or why everyone agrees this is a good idea. My initial thought is: “Gee, it would have been nice to have had this information earlier, and delivered in a smoother way than just heaping it on my plate”.
It’s not a negative though, not entirely. Yes, the delivery of information in this episode could have been better, but everything makes sense, for the most part. And even though, as always, it hinges on “let’s do this because Oz says we should”, this episode progresses in a way which cements Oz as the self-righteous, holier-than-thou dick I personally have come to see him as, ever since he inhabited the body of Oscar.
Not even a year ago, this show was constantly excusing Oz’s mystery and complete lack of transparency as just being a necessary thing – part of the deal. That way when he did engage and share with us, it made him seem like he wasn’t just navel-gazing, but actually digging deep. So it makes me satisfied to see that the show – and Team RWBY – are finally having enough of his bullshit. Bonus points to Ruby, for planting her flag and being decisive in this situation as well.
It is through this continued attachment and dedication to character that RWBY gets away with quite a lot, in fact. Exposition is far more interesting when it is tied to potentially conflicting character dynamics, and setting Team RWBY against bullshitting allies like Oz, who claim that they know what is best without actually contributing the depth of that knowledge, is an underrated way to define the collective personality and identity of the newly-reunited team.
The other twenty percent of this episode is spent on Cinder.
Yes, I know we saw her silhouette in the season poster, and we’ve seen her traipsing around streets as a mysterious, unidentified figure in the opening, but understand that there are so many ways to handle the non-death and return of a fairly major character. And the fact of the matter is that while yes, it was fairly obvious to everyone that has seen the promotional material, this is – for the most part – one of the better ways to bring her back into the fold.
What would you rather have? Her showing up as a complete anticlimax twist near the endgame of the season all of a sudden? Or would you rather have an actual story?
If your answer is a story, then this is one way you do it: bring her back early.
And consider this: Rooster Teeth know that we would have seen through the silhouettes and the hooded cloaks – it is the easiest thing to connect that mystery to Cinder, and it’s one they would have thought about. Otherwise, why even put the silhouette in the poster, or the mystery figure in the opening? They didn’t have to do any of that, and who knows? We might have asked the question if Cinder could come back, but none of us “figured it out” until we saw these promo materials, and then people started acting like they knew for certain, all along. But Rooster Teeth did make those choices, and it’s worth thinking about what that could mean. Why put her in shadow? Why have her walking around in a cloak?
Easy answer: Because (hopefully) it’s not the same old Cinder.
If you’re a long-time reader of these reviews (and bless you if you are), then you know that for the longest time, I was on Cinder Will Turn Good Island. I finally set sail from that island toward the end of last season, when she revealed her lovely Grimm-infused arm. I figured that was it for my idea, and I didn’t really consider it again until this episode.
And I’m not going back to that idea of a Zuko-esque hero turn, necessarily. At the core of their respective characters, the parallel doesn’t fit. But I am considering going back to the crux of that idea, which was of Cinder’s potential as a general wildcard. What if she split from Salem, and not to join the heroes, but to walk a new road as an anomalous, morally grey character?
That idea on its own is kind of what I had hoped for Raven last season, until she turned out to be the most blah and boring “important” character in the show’s history.
But with Cinder, someone who we’ve seen since Day One, I still think it has legs. During that time, she has become more and more of an antagonist, more crazed and sinking – until she literally was sunk. And this episode doesn’t cast her off the bat as anyone different than what we remember. She still (presumably) kills an innocent woman for her clothes, and still seems to be on the hunt for Starship Hero.
But like I said. You bring her back early, and you get the chance to see her story in full. I have great interest in how they handle this.
OBSERVATIONS:
I’ve seen her referred to as Steampunk Granny, but she now has a name: Maria. Let’s see if this character is any good or not.
Hey, remember that blonde lady from the new opening? Yep, hello, Salem. Just from how this ending came together, you know that Oz is going to get it in very short order. And hopefully that drives him to be better, because he is still important to the cause.
A mystical entity springing from a Magical Lamp has the name of “Jinn”? This show is the opposite of slick with some of these names.
I cannot be the only one who thinks “Lil’ Miss Malachite” is already a terrible character. For one thing, she already comes off as such a blatant rip-off of Game of Thrones’s Varys that it’s laughable. Spiders, really?
Beyond the mismanagement of Cinder herself, this element could threaten all the good stuff I wrote about above. When you put a character like Cinder in this position, separating her from her past tethers, you don’t need to introduce artificial stakes to make her story interesting – it becomes interesting on its own. It’s what’s called a “burgeoning subjectivity”, and it’s essentially when the focal character puts herself in positions to reflect and grow as a result of how she interacts with others and the world around her. Organic, reflexive development. But this Malachite woman already has all the red flags of being a hammy, cartoonish chess master with hammy, cartoonish goons, brought in just so that Cinder has some kind of foil to go up against. I know that a writer thought this direction would be a good idea, but that’s just what this character comes off as: a writer’s C-grade, clumsily-written pawn, here to threaten something that could be really good for Cinder’s development. If it ends up that I’m jumping out the window on this, then I’ll hold my hands up. But I’ve seen (and done) enough bad, bald-faced writing to know when it’s rearing its head. Consider yourself warned.
It’s weird, isn’t it, to actually see the Team RWBY girls confronted with such a … figure … as Jinn. And I know, part of their shock comes from seeing such a magic entity appear before them … but these girls in the show are old enough to understand what Jinn, just visually, represents. And if you don’t believe me, then just look at how that scene is cut together – close-ups of big-blue body parts cut against their reaction faces … mm-hm. You don’t have to be a film student to see the connotations in practice.
GRADE: C+
“Uncovered” is the heaviest episode of RWBY – in terms of delivering exposition and driving the overarching plot – in quite some time. But if last week’s premiere was “all-killer, no-filler”, this is very much the other side of the spectrum, as we learned a fair amount, but didn’t really go anywhere. Still, there are a number of bright spots, such as Oz being exposed in the eyes of Team RWBY, and the return and potential solo storyline of Cinder. All in all, there are enough character hooks to stay intrigued, but right now the bones and mechanics of the writing are too visible to be entirely comfortable. – KALLIE

EVENT 010: GRYFFINDOR VS. HUFFLEPUFF
With spring on the rise, Dougal Wood had hoped that the sun would be out for the next Quidditch match. The sky had been grey for so long, and with everything happening, he thought that everyone could do with a little warmth. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was not on his side. The sun was not out, and to make matters even more dreary, there was rainy mist falling from the sky. Dougal tightened his grip around his umbrella, leading the charge of students as they marched their way out towards the Quidditch Pitch. The march to the announcers block was more difficult than normal. The rain made the steps slick and dangerous to the step, but he made it there safe enough.
Professor McGonagall was already there when he arrived, and he tried to sit through her usual lecture without fidgeting in his seat. With that out of the way, it was almost time for the games to begin. He tightened his cloak around his body and then leaned forward to speak.
“Good morning, students of Hogwarts! Another rainy day, it seems. I wish I had more time to chat with you all, but Professor McGonagall didn’t appreciate my complaining during the last match. So, we’re just going to get right to it! Today’s match is Gryffindor against Hufflepuff. I know it might not seem very exciting after the last crazy game with Ravenclaw and Slytherin, but stay hopeful folks! Something tells me that this game is going to be one for the ages. Just take one look at Marlene McKinnon! If that doesn’t look like the face of competition, then just consider me blind! ------ Alright, looks like that’s Madam Hooch, coming out from the storage cupboards over there. Bludgers are off, snitch is gone too. It’s a great day to play some Quidditch, isn’t it? -- Players are mounting their brooms, it’ll be any second now. And, begin!”
"MARLENE MCKINNON is starting us off today! She’s grabbed the quaffle straight from the air, and is taking off down the field. AMOS DIGGORY is hot on her tail, but MCKINNON looks ready for that. She’s zigzagging him all over the field, not giving him a single second to reach for the quaffle. Better luck next time, AMOS. MCKINNON is still going-- she’s put some space between her and DIGGORY now. Poor lad hasn’t got a shot in hell of catching her. ALICE FORTESCUE is waiting for her, though. MCKINNON is pulling her arm back to take a shot, but-- Ah, it’s failed. Good save by FORTESCUE! See, I told you lot, this is going to be a great game. ADDIE IVERS has the quaffle now, you can see her on the west side of the Pitch, trying to dodge FABIAN and GIDEON PREWETT. They’ve got her cornered and-- WOW! What a great Body Blow by the PREWETT TWINS. MCKINNON has the quaffle again. Better luck next time, badgers!”
“Well, we’re twenty minutes into the game, my fellow students. Gryffindor is on point tonight, and in the lead 30-0. The Hufflepuff Chasers are working hard, but Gryffindor seems to be working harder. MCKINNON has the quaffle again----Merlin, she seems to be carrying the team today, doesn’t she? Oh-- wait, I spoke too soon! She’s tossed the quaffle to JAMES POTTER. He fumbles it for a moment, but don’t worry Gryffindor fans, he’s got it safe and sound and he’s heading back across the Pitch. CHARITY BURBAGE sends a bludger his way, but POTTER performs an excellent Sloth Grip Roll and manages to fly away, scot-free. He’s not out of the woods yet, though! GRETA CATCHLOVE is ready and in position. She sends the very same bludger back in his direction. He isn’t so lucky this time. It’s hit him right in the hand, and oh-- bollocks! He’s dropped the quaffle. But wait-- is that-- oh, bloody hell, it is! FABIAN PREWETT has pulled a move I’ve never seen before! He’s used his bat to hit the quaffle back into the hands of POTTER! This is some professional level playing, I tell you!”
“It’s never easy playing a game in the rain, but Gryffindor treats it like any regular day! They’re ahead still, 50-0 in case you haven’t been paying attention to the score board. POTTER and MCKINNON are doing great today, practically reading each other’s minds! Speaking of, is that POTTER with the quaffle again? He’s racing across the field-- Merlin, he’s got a nice broom doesn’t he? I can hardly see him! Anyways, he’s getting closer. He’s dodged a bludger from BURBAGE and a block from DIGGORY. Can any of the Hufflepuffs stop him? Doesn’t look it it, because-- YES! YES! POTTER has scored! -- Sorry, Professor, no favoritism, I’ve got it. -- Anyhow, after that excellent display of offense, Gryffindor is up, 60-0! Looks like they’re celebrating. MCKINNON and POTTER are congratulating each other, it looks like. A moment too soon, it seems, because while they were distracted EDWARD TONKS has grabbed the quaffle! He’s being quick, he is! The Gryffindors have hardly even noticed he’s gone. And-- well, TONKS has scored. Good job, Hufflepuff. It’s going to be hard to close that lead, but it’s a start.”
“It’s been an hour-and-a-half, and this game is more boring than I thought it would be. Gryffindor is ahead still, 110-10. Now, I know a lot can change during a Quidditch game, but that’s a pretty big lead. Let’s see, where is everyone at... Seekers DAVEY and GALVIN GUDGEON are both on opposite ends of the Pitch, pretty high above the rest of the action. I haven’t seen either one of them move too much during this match, so they must not have seen the snitch yet. Interesting, considering how long the game has been going on. --- The quaffle is on the south end of the field, tucked under the arm of GLENDA CHITTOCK. I imagine it’s a boon to the Gryffindor morale to see her on the field after everything that’s happened. She’s moving faster than light down the field, heading straight as a beam right towards Hufflepuff Seeker, ALICE FORTESCUE. FORTESCUE’S performance has left something to be desired this match, which is how Gryffindor’s ended up with such a tight lead. At this point, I’m worried Hufflepuff won’t stand a chance, even if they do end up finding the snitch. CHITTOCK’S moved in close now. Her arm is up, readying a throw, and--- in it goes, bringing up the Gryffindor lead to 120-10. Waiting in the wings to catch the quaffle is DIGGORY. He’s heading back across the field. Is DRAGANOV even paying attention? He looks like he’s going to block the wrong hoop. What in Merlin’s name is he playing at? DIGGORY seems confused, but he takes advantage of the open shot and scores, bringing Hufflepuff up to 20 points against Gryffindor’s 120. An unusual amount of cheering coming from the Slytherins right now.”
“We’ve made it to two hours, and I’m so sorry for ever calling this game boring. DRAGANOV’S morale must have plummeted after giving up that easy shot to DIGGORY, because he’s missing everything now. The score is 120-50. Gryffindor is still in the lead, but if they keep it up at this rate, it might not be for very much longer. Hufflepuff seems to be invigorated by the boost to their points, and they’re all bringing their O-game now. TONKS and IVERS are riding side by side up the pitch. Both of the PREWETT twins are hot on their tail, but they’re ready for that. With some expert Chaser-to-Chaser passing, they manage to avoid losing the quaffle. FABIAN PREWETT hits the bludger in their direction. IVERS manages to toss it over to TONKS but not in time to avoid the bludger. It’s hit her right in the foot, and ouch, that looks painful. In the confusion of all of that, TONKS manages to score once again, bringing the score up to 120-60. I guess I spoke too soon about a Gryffindor win. This is still anybody’s game.”
“This is turning into a long Quidditch match. Already nearly three hours in and neither team is looking close to being finished. I don’t think I’ll be able to keep announcing for much longer without breaking for the loo! ANDREI DRAGANOV is still turning out to be a big disappointment--- sorry, Professor. What I meant to say is that DRAGANOV is missing every single shot that comes his way. Even more confusing--- the Slytherins keep cheering on the Hufflepuffs. What a strange day this is. Anyways, Gryffindor’s only managed to score a single shot in the last hour, thanks to some good goal-keeping from FORTESCUE. If only she’d managed at the beginning of the game, right? Hufflepuff, on the other hand, has nearly tied the game. The score now is 130-100. Gryffindor seems exasperated with their keeper. Did anyone see that gesture that MCKINNON made? I think all of us Gryffindors can relate to that. For their part, though, they’re doing their very best to keep the quaffle out of the hands of the Hufflepuff chasers. POTTER’S got the ball, and he’s--- wait a second, is that the snitch? Seekers GUDGEON and GUDGEON are racing towards each other from opposite sides of the pitch. They’re getting close now, hands outstretched. Hufflepuff looks set to win, and WOAH, DAVEY GUDGEON has thrown an elbow into his brother’s face. The snitch seems to have disappeared and GALVIN GUDGEON is bleeding over the front of his robes. Madame Hooch is flying onto the pitch now. And-- yep, that’s a foul for Gryffindor! IVERS is taking the shot for her team, and with a quick bit of work, she brings Hufflepuff’s score up to 110. POTTER is congratulating GUDGEON now, it looks like. Smart move on his part, causing a foul. If he hadn’t, the game would be over now.”
“Three and a half hours into the game, and Hufflepuff has taken the lead 130-140. I’m sorry to have to leave while things are getting interesting, but I really can’t hold it anymore. The loo is calling my name! Due to popular demand, Pinky Parkinson will be covering the game while I’m gone. Pinky, here’s the mic.”
“Thanks, Dougal! Enjoy your bathroom break. --- Hello, fellow students, it’s me again. I’m so happy to be back up here announcing again. It’s so fun. --- Now, let me look around and see where everyone is. JAMES and MARLENE are by the Gryffindor hoops, both shouting at ANDREI. He’s really doing awful in this second half of the game, isn’t he? Poor GIDEON. He looks so sad over there. FABIAN, cheer him up if you can! DAVEY is higher up, looking for the snitch, I guess. And where’s GLENDA? Oh, there she is. Hey, GLENDA! She’s tailing behind TED, for those of you who can’t see her. And as for TED, he’s got the quaffle in his hands, heading towards JAMES, MARLENE, and ANDREI. ADDIE’S nearby too. I hope her foot isn’t hurting her too bad. It’s very brave of her to keep playing, I think. TED just tossed her the quaffle, probably because GIDEON was coming his way. Oh, wow, she’s going so fast! Go ADDIE! JAMES is screaming something at ANDREI again because he hardly even moves to block ADDIE’S shot. The quaffle is so close! YAY, ADDIE scored, bringing it up to--- where’s the scoreboard again? Oh, yea. Bringing the score up to 120-150 for Hufflepuff! Aw, the Gryffindors really don’t look happy. GIDEON just sent a bludger flying at ANDREI. It misses, but probably because GIDEON didn’t really want to hit him. JAMES has the quaffle now. I think he’s been waiting underneath so he could grab it first. He’s flying away now, and --- oh, ouch. He’s hit in the shoulder by a bludger, and he drops the quaffle. CHARITY hit the bludger at him. I’m not sure if it needed to be that hard, because JAMES can’t stop grabbing his shoulder. AMOS grabs the quaffle after JAMES drops it and throws it over ANDREI’S shoulder for another goal. 130-160 for Hufflepuff! --- Oh, and there’s Dougal now, running up the stairs. Be careful or you’ll fall!”
“Thank you, Pinky. If it weren’t for you, I don’t know what I would do during these long matches. Now, where were we--- I think Gryffindor is preparing for a Power Play. Aww, yeah, I love these! The PREWETT TWINS are using their bludgers to scatter the chasers from the middle of the field. Even DAVEY GUDGEON flies down from his perch to help clear a path. CHITTOCK has the quaffle, making her the witch of the moment. POTTER and MCKINNON join the others. Taking advantage of the moment, CHITTOCK races down the pitch, trusting her teammates to keep the Hufflepuff’s out of her path. Everything seems to be going well--- she’s getting close to FORTESCUE. There’s still time for the Gryffindor’s to come back, as long as they starting hitting goals again. CHITTOCK shoots, and--- and nearly scores. FORTESCUE is like lightning, stopping the quaffle from entering the hoop by mere centimeters. FORTESCUE tosses it over to TONKS, who is in the perfect spot to score, thanks to the cluttering of Gryffindor’s among the middle of the pitch. The Power Play is a risky move, and it didn’t turn out well for the Lions. TONKS shoots, and of course, DRAGANOV only clumsily tries to stop. The score now is 130-170. Ugh.”
“Five hours now, folks. Remember earlier, when I said this match was boring because the Gryffindors were creating too far of a lead? Well, I feel that way again, only about the Hufflepuffs this time. Their lead over the Gryffindors is, well--- frankly embarrassing. Don’t give me that look, Professor McGonagall, I know you agree with me. The score now is 130-240. Nothing exciting has happened in awhile, unless you count the Hufflepuff Chasers making goals. DRAGANOV’s performance has left a lot to be desired, but it’s not just him. The Gryffindor Chasers are having a hard time breaking past FORTESCUE’s defense. I’d say the PREWETT twins are doing alright, but there’s only so much the Beaters can do if their team won’t pick up their slack. Our-- I mean, Gryffindor’s only hope rests on the shoulders of DAVEY GUDGEON. Hopefully he can catch the snitch before its too late. I swear on Merlin and Morgana, this match can’t end soon enough. I’m running out of nails to bite!”
“I really didn’t think this match would be as long as the last one, but once again, we’ve hit the 6 hour mark. The score now is 130-270, for Hufflepuff. The entire Gryffindor teams looked nervous. If they don’t make some goals soon, or at least stop Hufflepuff from doing that, then even the snitch isn’t going to save them. The GUDGEON BROTHERS are circling the top of the pitch, looking desperate to find the snitch. Meanwhile, BURBAGE and CATCHLOVE are trying to knock the quaffle out of POTTER’S hands. BURBAGE seems to be using her bat, trying to jab it out of his hands. That’s a move I haven’t seen before. POTTER looks to CHITTOCK for a pass. He pulls his arm back, and --- Oh, Merlin! The snitch hits him right in the cheek! POTTER whirls around confused, before calling waving frantically at DAVEY GUDGEON. Both he and his brother realize what’s happening, and race down to catch it. Could this be it, folks? The exciting end to a day-long game? I hope so. While the Seekers race for the gold, the Hufflepuff Chasers seem anxious to add just a few more points to the board. TONKS grabs the quaffle from a still-distracted POTTER and takes a long, heaving shot towards the goal. I don’t know, but he makes it, bringing the score up to 130-180. Even if DAVEY gets the snitch, the game will be tied, leaving it up to the Chasers again to make the winning toss. Not a good spot for Gryffindor who has struggled with their defense this game. The GUDGEON BROTHERS are side-by-side now. Sibling rivalry must be coming into play, because I see a lot of shoulder-to-shoulder shoving. They’re within ten meters of the snitch, and both have their arms out ahead of them. Down below, MCKINNON and DIGGORY are in a tug-of-war over the quaffle. MCKINNON looks set to win, but then a quick flying bludger from BURBAGE smashes into her wrist, causing DIGGORY to fly off in victory. He pulls his arm back, to make the shot, and scores! The score is now 130-190! Gryffindor hasn’t got a shot in--- GRYFFINDOR HAS CAUGHT THE SNITCH! POTTER is looking upwards in horror at the sight of DAVEY GUDGEON waving the snitch triumphantly in his little brother’s face. I don’t think he’s realized that they’ve lost. What a game. The Slytherins must think so too, because they might be screaming louder than anyone.”
FINAL SCORE:  440 Hufflepuff - 120 Gryffindor
GOALS: Marlene McKinnon (7), James Potter (4), Glenda Chittock (2), Ted Tonks (9), Addie Ivers (9), Amos Diggory (11)
FOULS:  Davey Gudgeon (1)
INJURIES: Addie Ivers (broken ankle, hit with a bludger), Galvin Gudgeon (bloody nose), James Potter (dislocated shoulder), Marlene McKinnon (broken wrist)
And there you have it. Hufflepuff wins the game, but Gryffindor catches the snitch. Like other quidditch matches, curfew has been extended two hours for the students to calm down and celebrate. The corridors are filled with Aurors and Professors to keep an eye on things. One can never be too safe anymore. The Hufflepuffs will likely be celebrating in their common room. The same probably can’t be said for the Gryffindors.
For those of you wondering why on earth Andrei started performing so terribly, it was because he was confunded mid-match. Of course, the Slytherins did this, (any guesses as to which one?) which is why they were so happy to see Hufflepuff win. Many in Slytherin aren’t happy about Andrei being ousted as a Grindelwald supporter, after all.
