The winter wolf speaks 3 languages and has the same intelligence as your average orc or harpy. A good 5 out of 6 on the ol' furry scale, but still perfectly viable. Anyway, it's 4.5 ft (1.4 m) at the shoulder and 8 ft (2.4 m) long. Also has cold breath, so no worries about getting too hot!
16 feet (4.9 m) tall, thicc as they can get themselves, and apparently like to play games where they see how many people they can fit in thier mouth without swallowing! Remember that we're talking about the whole species, even if giant is often used as a gendered term.

So myself and a few other wizards were planning to sneak into a hill giant “adult show” down at the lodge, but the bouncer automatically identified us as 3 wizards in a giant trench coat. He did say that we would have been allowed in if we were 9 gnomes stacked in a giant trench coat, but that sounded like a lot of work to turn 3 wizards into 9 gnomes.

homebrew hill giant npc because I didn't like the original concept <3
That's Orion, he took a lightning shot on his back when he was a little pebble and that changed his life forever
worldbuilding below cut:
in my worldbuilding most regions where there are hill giants, there's a singular mountain giant that's the mom (sometime dad) of all the hill giants in the area. They are a hill giant that grew too big to move, kind of like how a bee becomes a queen, and then they choose a place to stay and start a little community there.
Usually, hill giants are born by being the boulders that roll down the mother mountain, they waddle around like oversized pebbles until they find something to take a shape after, usually animals and/or trees.
Then, they blend in with the local fauna and flora until they get too big for that, and start looking a bit more humanoid. Because of that, they share a special connection with most sorts of life, most can communicate with animals with rare exceptions, some can even talk with plants!!
They're more likely to be elementals than actual gigants, since they're basically huge earth, stone, sand genasi, but people bundle them up with the giants anyway, since they're as big.
Orion isn't particularly shaped after anything, but he's one of the rare exceptions that lack connection to any plant or animal, since his magic got messed up from the lightning <33
I had a friend of his that was designed after a fawn but he looks so ugly that I'd rather make a completely new design later <33
if you kept reading take this baby orion as a reward, I cut all the text off because it's in portuguese :D

Token for the Maw of Yeenoghu. Hill giants whose voracious hunger exceeds even others of their kinds can attract the attention of the demon lord Yeenoghu. The gain gnoll-like features, distended jaws, and ever-growing rows of teeth.

Hill Giant
Fortunately, Hill Giants have large blind spots in which a human can easily hide. Unfortunately, these blind spots are beneath the bottoms of their feet.

The Lookers in the Stars, also known as the Rainbow Runners, is a faction of self-improvement. Its members hone their crafts, their minds, their bodies – often fighting for guts and glory along the way. Herbalists and healers use magic to bring eager Rainbow Runners in tune with the cadence of the universe, teaching each upstart athlete, warrior, and druid how to act and do battle through pure instinct.
Ideal. Intuition. In fighting and in learning, honing your intuition goes a long way. By tapping into the 'cadence' of the planes and acting through pure instinct, one can achieve a higher state of being.
Headquarters. The Great Gymnasium
Leadership. The leader of the Lookers in the Stars is an Ysgardian warrior spirit named Britheva the Hunter, who was a powerful warrior and adept druid in her day, and even more so as her learning and training has transcended mortal life.

EVEN MORE FARMERS OF ANCARDIA
Tumblr media
Here, a Harpy farmer poses with the fruits of his efforts in the vegetable terraces--and also with a new addition to the tamed griffon family his clan use as mounts and companions. Griffons are large, ferocious relatives of the drakes, though strangely four-legged with a shape similar to a winged dragon more than a bird. Unlike winged dragons, griffons are mostly carnivorous and far shorter-lived, though still very loyal to their harpy tamers. Harpies are not the only peoples in Ancardia to tame griffons, but they are the ones who keep them most often.

While the upper crust of the Aynaul (high elven) people often delegate all of the food production and other dirty, hard jobs to their colonized populations of Doravn and the odd ratlings and other non-elves, there do exist plenty of more rural high elves who do the work themselves. Even so, there is a cultural bias, and high elven farming families often center around the more "prestigious" activities--such as breeding horses like the Ayn warmblood, a tall, large, and powerful horse known for speed, toughness, and their intellect.

Hill Giants, living in the scrublands and foothills throughout the Drakalors and neighboring ranges, are uniquely suited to herding the many types of large, shaggy beasts that roam the steppes. Depending on the region, hill giants will keep a number of different wool and milk animals, and in the furthest north clans the preference is definitely for muskoxen. They will often also keep tamed, companionly bears or dire wolves, functioning much like guarding dogs and sled-pulling hounds do for their smaller relatives.

The Hruork, known in Commontongue as the hill orcs, have very limited agricultural practices but use these most intensely to make up for the lack of resources in the downtime between successful raids of other settlements. Alongside grain and fiber cultivation, horse-keeping, and some miscellaneous vegetable farming is the common practice of training truffle-hogs. Unlike many other animals, Hill Orc society highly prizes truffle-hogs and tamed boars, and it is taboo among them to consume anything produced by a pig except for the truffles and other mushrooms they sniff out for their keepers.

I’ve started painting DnD minis. And just like every other obsession of mine I may have went in a little too hard. Anyway, here’s a bunch of painted minis:

On the right are fire elementals, 4 foot (1.2 m) arsonists who rarely speak, but some grow up to 10 times as big! It's literally just sentient fire, idk what you want me to say, you know what fire is.

Gavamont! My eyes have doubled in size since yesterday. I'm not aware of any recent curses, but this is worrisome, what if it continues as a pattern!? I need help!!!
The only thing I’ve got for you is a spell to grow the rest of your head except for your eyes, so you’re gonna start having a big head, but it will be proportional at least.
This will also not be a sustainable solution, unless you can get a spell to grow your body, and even if you find that you’re basically reinventing hill giants. But everybody’s gotta be something I suppose. Good luck as a hill giant.
