1. What advantage does the creation of social media offer citizens of developing countries.
*In developing countries this means that people in rural areas,or with little access to services can now obtain educational mobile heath and financial services in ways that were impossible before mobile technology and the spread of social media.

Humanities and social sciences deal with human aspects like politics, law, linguistics, economics, and psychology. The two are differentiated as humanities being a field that involves a more analytical and critical approach while social sciences deal with more of what is traditionally considered a scientific approach.

Studying a country whose proportion of migrants has tripled in less than ten years, the researchers found immigration significantly affects people’s perceptions of crime but has no effect on actual crime.
“Many people seem to believe a connection exists between crime and immigration. We wanted to explore why this is the case, by looking at the example of Chile, a country recently exposed to a massive influx of immigrants,” says Nicolas Ajzenman, a professor of economics at McGill University.
“In Chile, migrants represented close to 6.5% of the population in 2018. Not only did the magnitude change, but also the composition of immigrants changed strongly in recent years, with the arrival of people from Venezuela and Haiti, a trend is similar to other Latin American countries,” he says.
The researchers found that people who are more exposed to immigration inflows are more likely to rank crime as their biggest concern. They’re more likely to believe that crime is affecting their quality of life, and more likely to believe that they will be a victim of a crime soon.
However, those citizens weren’t any more likely to have been victims of any crime in the previous months. Nor did the number of homicides grow disproportionately in the municipalities where they live, according to the researchers.

THE RULES that I have been going off of, for everyone voting as if this were a fight to the death:
this is a regular episode of Danny Phantom
the cats are loose in Amity Park, this is not an arena or anything.
there are a lot of cats but they aren't trying to kill Danny in particular or are unrealistically aggressive, they are just cats, a good chunk of them being kittens or unable to fight, probably confused as to where they've been transported to
they act like normal feral cats do (there is a difference between ferals & strays). they are not smarter (they think cars are animals) or trained any more than in canon, which does not include fighting humans with technology that can trap cats (it is canon that they cannot fight this & do not train to fight this)
the cats do not have special superpowers that can oneshot Danny, because this is not canon in Warriors. they are literally just animal ghosts. i think they have prophetic visions about the clans, but I don't see how this helps them escape Danny's C&R program as it didn't help the last time
Danny has all of his canon powers
Danny has all of his "training" & practice from canon
Danny has all of the canon Fenton tech, maybe even ghost proof live traps because let's be real, Maddie & Jack would immediately make a bunch if there was a ghost cat problem
Danny has the benefit of looking up "how to catch feral cats"
Danny has help from whoever he is allied with in canon
we're all stupid because this is not the question we should be focusing on
we should be focusing on how the hell Starclan suddenly disappearing would affect the clans
my answer under the cut
Tumblr media
Danny would win, but it would take him months to catch all of them & he would suffer the whole time
he's a dog person too so he wouldn't know how to handle them. Sam would be able to handle them but as soon as any of them start to warm up to Danny (probably like Pinestar or another warrior-turned-kittypet) Cujo would show up & they'd all scatter
except for Swiftpaw, he'd probably fight Cujo, traumatizing him & making it impossible for him to get along with cats in the future, obviously making the situation worse

⚠️ ATTENTION UK COMRADES ⚠️
never in my life did i think i would be making a post like this but here goes.
what's happening in the university of brighton?
during the past week, the university of brighton has announced 110 staff redundancies in a bid to save almost £18m.
meanwhile, senior management have recently shelled out an almost identical sum of money to buy out the lease of a sports facility on campus - a decision which nobody asked for or wanted.
these redundancies will be finalised at the end of june and will have a catastrophic impact on learning conditions, which rely on the expertise of our lecturers. though the ripples of this decision will be felt throughout the university, it explicitly and disproportionately targets 'non-profitable' degrees such as humanities, arts, social sciences, etc.
for the staff made redundant, it could mean the end of their academic career due to a surplus of unemployed academics as a result of sector-wide lack of funding for teaching and research. this is also happening during a cost of living crisis.
lecturers on work visas could be forced to leave the country and may not be able to support their families. those who aren't made redundant will suffer from increased workload, larger class sizes, inability to conduct research and more students per member of staff.
the university of brighton offers a fantastic range of unique, interdisciplinary courses in the heart of the uk's queer capital, allowing our vibrant student community to benefit from intimate seminars that immensely benefit our learning. with some of our departments being cut by more than half, the loss of these will be absolutely devastating.
in the e-mail the student body were sent, we were told the redundancies 'wouldn't affect us', with zero acknowledgement of the relationship students build with their lecturers.
this is an attack on the job security and dignity of our valued body of educational staff. the vice chancellor, who takes home around £250,000 a year, said she 'needs to pay the gas bill'. we say human beings over buildings.
the student body cannot allow this. this sets a dangerous precedent for workers all over the country.
so what can we do to help?
let them know that this not okay. voice your concerns to the vice chancellor debra humphris, who can be contacted at [email protected]
spread information. tell your friends. kick up a fuss. stand in solidarity with staff and students. contact your local representatives and encourage them to offer support. jeremy corbyn has already given his!!
consider following @ uobsolidarity on instagram to stay updated.
here is a petition you can sign and some relevant news articles. here's how to find your mp.
SOLIDARITY FOREVER. FUCK GREED. PLEASE BOOST!!!

A cancer that progresses without input from cells is a terrifying concept. What could cause it to grow and spread? Some dark force, some alien influence? The answer is surprisingly mundane- chromosomal instability. This is a flaw in the genetic material that can cause tumors to develop and grow on their own. It's a frightening prospect, cancer that doesn't need cells to survive. But at least we know what causes it, and we can work to find a cure.

Nikki Haley defended right to secession, Confederate History Month and the Confederate flag in 2010 talk | CNN Politics
CNN  —  Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley defended states’ rights to secede from the United States, South Carolina’s Confederate History Month and the Confederate flag in a 2010 interview with a local activist group that “fights attacks against Southern Culture.” Haley, who was running for South Carolina governor at the time, made the comments during an interview with the now defunct “The…

Why I choose HUMSS STRAND
because in HUMSS, it helps me a lot to understand others through their languages, histories, culture and I want also to build skills in writing and critical reading. The HUMSS encourage me to think creatively and it teach me to reason about being human and to ask questions about our society and to our world, and it helps me develop a global perspective by studying different cultures throughout the world.
Many people says that being a HUMSS student is hard, but in my own experience HUMSS helps me a lot to show my talents and capabilities to other people. HUMSS helps me to enhance my skills and it helps me to be successful someday. For me, Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) teach us how people have created their world and how they in turn are created by it.

One more day to contribute to fandom science, and if you've already submitted your response here's some fun facts about Good Omens fic on ao3 for you:
Prior to the release of the first season, there were 3,574 fics on ao3 under the Good Omens book fandom tag. Especially compared to current numbers, they are almost overwhelmingly general and teen. Popular tags included fluff, humor, crossover, established relationship, romance, and drabble.
The "anal sex" tag did not make its debut on the top tags list until January of 2024. The ratio of explicit fics is also much higher than any month since the s2 release. Y'all nasty (I love you).
The longest fic under the GO Tv tag is 1,041,533 words with over 200 chapters and is published in spanish. The second place is at 500k, also in Spanish. The third, and the longest english fic, is 479,886 words and 56 chapters, and it's a rarepair Crowley/Gabriel with Aziraphale as the villain. Interesting choices were made here, major respect for the author. Takes guts.
There are 150 pages of fic, or about 3,000 fics, with less than 50 words (my cutoff for calculating average wordcount). That's 3k archived works consisting of podfics, artwork, and short poetry. Very cool!
Y'all are all simps and suckers. With the singular exception of August 2023 (Neil you know what you did), the top tag accross all dates I pulled data from was always fluff.
As I said, if you haven't already PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GO VOTE to contribute to the biggest survey of Good Omens fanfic statistics made to date, and maybe give this or the poll a reblog to get it in front of more writers.
Tumblr media
Bonus fun fact: In the time it took me to type this post, 4 more fics were posted.
