You already hated everything about the flouncy, taffeta dress your mother picked out for you to wear, but you were emotionally too exhausted to fight her anymore.  Especially for an event you were already dreading.  Your shoulders bunched up at your ears at the thought of everyone there asking you what you were doing with your life, and when you planned to get married.  You wondered if Eddie could hold his own with all of the self-proclaimed “well-meaning” hyenas in your family.
You stood in the full length mirror upstairs in your childhood bedroom, wondering if Eddie would like the way you looked.  You closed your eyes to silently berate yourself for how you had behaved the night before.  The way you’d just bolted out of his place like he had done something wrong.  You actually waited all day for the phone to ring, so sure it would be him, letting you know he had to cancel—but the call never came.  You wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t show up to the venue, but if he did, you promised yourself that you would let yourself enjoy his company and not let your insecurities get the better of you for once in your life.
“Shit,” you cursed aloud, hoping no one mingling in the hall heard you, remembering you forgot to tell Eddie that he needed to be a mechanic when he met your mother.  A mechanic who owns his own shop nonetheless.  God, why did you do this to yourself.
Downstairs, you could hear the voices of your mom, your aunt, and your sister as they waited to make their way over to the winery where the wedding and reception would be taking place.  Your mom gasped when she saw you, but it wasn’t a good gasp; it was a horrified one.  She had you turn in a circle in front of everyone, announcing that she wished it covered your shoulders and asked why you looked so bloated—she told you to lay off the dairy for a week.  Your sister said you looked pretty, but it fell on damaged ears.
“When is your date getting here?” your mother asked as you were all gathering your things to leave.
“He’s meeting me at the venue,” you mumbled, grabbing your bag.
Everyone looked at you as if you’d just said you were moving to Mars.  Your aunt was the one who spoke up, eyeballing your mother.  “Why isn’t he picking you up?”
You stammered.  “He, um, well, he had to work and I wasn’t sure when we—”
Your sister, dressed in a tiny Kate Moss number, threw open the front door to take a step and stopped in her tracks.  “Hey, who the hell is that?”
You pushed past your mom to squeeze into the doorway next to her, confused, thinking maybe it was someone pulling up to the wrong house.
Leaning back against the passenger side of a classic Pontiac Firebird with a pair of aviator sunglasses on looking fine as hell in his all black suit and shirt, with his hands in his pockets, was Eddie.
—---
“I’m not asking for your advice, Steve, I’m just telling you how it is,” Eddie stirred the cream and sugar into his coffee and then sucked the spoon before setting it on the nearby napkin.  “I like her.”
Steve Harrington shifted in the red vinyl booth they were in at Maude’s Diner, and held up the large, laminated menu to look at the breakfast specials, a toothpick rolling between his lips, his wayfarer sunglasses on his head.
“She’s different,” Eddie continued.  “I can tell she doesn’t realize how attractive she is.  I just want to hold her, I can’t explain it.”
Steve’s face was hidden behind the menu, tongue moving the toothpick, concentrating as he spoke.  “I understand, man.”
“Wait,” Eddie hovered his brown coffee cup half way to his mouth.  “You do? I figured you’d tell me I was losing my shit.”
“Well, you are,” Steve put the menu flat on the table with an air whoosh that flew the ends of Eddie’s hair back over his denim battle vest.  “I mean, when the pussy is good, it can fuck any guy up.  Hell, I’ve been there.  Remember that chick who paid me to go with her for a week to the Florida Keys a few months ago? Damn, I thought she was the one, you know?”
Eddie finally took that sip of his coffee, licking his lips as he sat the cup back down, making a tent with his hand to twirl it in thoughtful circles on the Formica table.
Steve continued.  “I still think about her.  But she has a serious boyfriend now and all that,” he took his toothpick out and pointed at him with it.  “No girl wants to commit to guys in our profession.”
“Yeah, I know.” Eddie was biting the side of his fingernail off as he spoke, concentrating.  “But I don’t plan to do this forever.  As soon as I get Wayne out of the hole with his medical bills—”
“Aren’t you two handsome boys a sight for sore eyes?” It was Donna, their favorite waitress.  Her graying, dishwater blonde hair up in a bun and the red and white Maude’s apron tied in a bow at her back.  She hovered her pen over the order pad.  “What’ll it be? Lou is in the kitchen, he makes a mean steak and eggs.”
The boys gave her their orders, sprinkled with plenty of that sweet, gigolo charm, and Donna walked away with a spring in each step of her orthopedic shoes.
“Yeah but,” Steve continued after a sip of his orange juice and a smack of his lips.  “Why would you want to give this gig up so soon? Plenty of bitches in the sea, man.”
Eddie squinted across the table at him, fingers drumming the table.  He didn’t sound like Steve anymore, he sounded more like Billy, another one of their friends who dabbled in the trade.
“You know, you never used to be like this,” Eddie told him, sitting back flush against the squeaky vinyl.  There was an ashtray over by the salt n’ pepper shakers and he pulled it closer, tossing his pack of cigs next to it.
“Like what?” Steve blanched.  “A guy who likes money and pussy?”
“No,” Eddie crossed his arms over his chest, slotting his hands in his armpits.  “A guy who is so afraid of connection that he does everything he can to avoid it.”
Steve looked over his shoulder, as if to check to see if the food was coming, to avoid Eddie’s eyes.  “Yeah, well, people change.”
The steaming hot plates of food came a couple minutes later, and the boys dug in for a few thoughtful bites in silence, forks and knives slicing and shoveling.  A different waitress refilled Eddie’s coffee and he said, “thank you darlin’” as if he were a country western star.
Steve wiped his mouth with his napkin while Earth Angel by The Penguins played softly from the jukebox, a gray haze settling in the atmosphere from all of the other patrons who were smoking cigarettes around them. Outside on the street, a group of bikers on chrome beasts roared by.
“You’re lucky I was busy, or maybe Robin would have referred your girl to me that night,” Steve said around a mouthful of food.
For some reason, that comment set Eddie’s teeth on edge.  “Oh I think Robin knew exactly what she was doing when she referred her to me and not you.  But keep dreaming, playboy.”
There was a tension in the air as Eddie lit a smoke, and Steve had time to regret his snide remark.  “So, are you going to tell her how you feel when you see her tonight, or what?”
Eddie set the cig in the ashtray to smolder while he took another bite of food, chewing as he considered the question.  “I invited her to the house last night, asked her to stay, but she ran off so fast, I’m worried I scared her,” he took another drag and then tapped the ash, blowing smoke out the side of his mouth.  “But the sex dude, it’s just
mind blowing.  I haven’t had this kind of chemistry with someone in years, and I convinced myself she felt it too.”
“You gotta give the girl a break, man,” Steve offered, scratching his chest through his white tee and then combing his fingers through his hair a few times.  “She doesn’t know you’re for real, she probably thinks it’s all part of the act. I bet she thinks you’re gonna send her a bill for the whole weekend or something.”  Steve chuckled to himself but Eddie wasn’t laughing.
“I told her I never go down on clients, I told her it was special, but I don’t know, she didn’t seem to believe me.”
“Gigolos are notoriously good liars, man.  We have to be,” Steve perched his forearms on the table.  “I mean, I’ve lost count of how many clients I’ve said ‘I love you’ too just because I knew that’s what they needed to hear.”
Eddie’s eyes widened in shock. “You tell clients you love them?”
“Well,” Steve fussed.  “Sometimes I mean it, in the moment, you know?” His eyes went to the table as he wiped his hands off with the napkin.  “Sometimes I need it as much as they do.”
Eddie considered Steve’s words as Donna came to remove their plates.  “You should tell her,” Steve encouraged sincerely.  “Tell her that you like her and want to take her on a real date, and that you don’t want her to pay you for the wedding thing. If she likes you too, hopefully she can wrap her head around the fact that your dick is in a different babe a couple times a month.”
Eddie had already been thinking about this, and so he worked his jaw with a solemn face.  “What if she’s not interested in me in that way and I make her uncomfortable? It’s not very professional, and pretty creepy if you ask me.”
“It’s the risks we don’t take, man,” Steve shrugged. He moved his hands as he talked.  “Feel it out, don’t just bombard her with it.  See how the night goes. When the time is right, you’ll know.  Otherwise, you’ll get paid a decent amount for a solid gig, and you had some great sex, so it wasn’t a total loss.”
All the same, Steve’s words were only partially comforting because there was only one way Eddie wanted the evening to go.
—-----
Eddie smiled when he saw you, taking his sunglasses off as he pushed off the Firebird.  The collar of his shirt was unbuttoned a bit to show the guitar pick necklace he wore, and the suit was perfectly tailored to him, complete with a thin leather belt and silver buckle.  You mirrored his cheesy grin, filled with a rush of relief and excitement that no words could express.
“Wait,” your sister balked, eyes darting from you to him.  “Is that him? Is that your date?” As good of a person as your sister tried to be, she could not conceal her disbelief that someone like you could snag someone like Eddie.
You waved at him, bolting from the porch and down the steps, ignoring your mother’s voice as best you could as she called out to you.  “Where are you going? I thought you were coming with us? Tell him to come up so we can meet him.”
But, you only shouted over your shoulder.  “See you over there, mom!”
You trotted up to Eddie at the end of the sidewalk in your heels, almost tipping over, and he took your hand, his eyes sparkling as they darted over you.  “Wow, you look —”
“Please,” you whispered urgently, squeezing his thumb.  “Get me out of here as fast as you can, and we can talk on the way.”
“As you wish,” Eddie held the door open for you to slide in, scooping the frilly parts of your dress with you.  The women were all on the porch staring, mouths agape, and he gave them an open palm.  “Ladies. Looking very lovely today,” just as he slammed the metal door and jogged around to the driver’s side.
Eddie snapped his seatbelt across his lap.  “You look so damn good, almost got me hard right in front of your family.”
You shrank down in your seat so they couldn’t see you through the window and giggled at his shrill tone.  “Serves you right for showing up here when I said to meet me at the venue.”
Eddie revved the engine and pulled from the curb with speedy finesse, adjusting the lapel of his suit jacket.  “Went in to visit Robin at the coffee shop earlier today,” he started.  “Your friend Nellie was working and she mentioned you might need rescuing from your mother, so I took a shot.”
“What can I say,” you cleared your throat, eyes on the road.  “You’re good at your job.”
You noticed he still wore his chunky silver rings with his suit and you appreciated the way he always stayed true to his style.  It was hard for you to give compliments, only because you rarely received them, but you did your best.  “You look really handsome.  I’m happy to see you.”
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Eddie’s head turn to look at you, his voice low.  “It makes me happy to hear that.”
You chatted about horror movies for a bit, because you were quite the aficionado, and then when the Firebird came to stop at a traffic light, Eddie stretched across, planting his elbow on the console to present his lips to you, making a smooch noise.  “Kiss?”
He almost didn’t have to ask because your mouth was already on its way, eyelashes fluttering at the plump, warm welcome of their destination.  The light turned green but Eddie was still hovering close, gaze flicking to different areas of your face.
“What?” You asked, slightly paranoid.  “Is there something on my—?” You wiped your cheek and your mouth as if you expected to find a lipstick smudge or crumbs.
“You’re perfect,” he soothed.  “I just like looking at you, that’s all.”
But then the person behind you honked, and Eddie hit the gas, but also threw a dirty look in the rearview to whoever it was who dared to interrupt such a moment.
You rubbed your lips together, relishing the taste of him, a wild fluttering in your heart.
—-------
“So, I’m a mechanic, and I run my own garage,” Eddie came around to your side to open your door in the winery parking lot, running down the list of things he needed to remember.  “It’s actually not a far cry,” he assured you.  “I’ve been working on cars since I was a kid.”
You kissed him again when you took his arm, pinning your clutch under your other arm.  “I’d like to apologize in advance for my family,” you said glumly.  “They’ll probably ask you a bunch of personal questions, and you have my permission to tell them it’s none of their business.”
“Nah,” Eddie nudged you. “I want them to like me.”
You could see the stucco building ahead with a big white gazebo set up in front of lines of white chairs in the garden next to a pond that glimmered in the early evening sun.
Eddie took the lead in more ways than one, and you were so grateful. You’d never felt so protected and sure of yourself in your entire life.  He had this way of talking to people like he’d known them for ages, disarming them and charming them in a way that was unfamiliar to you.  The usher sat Eddie on the aisle of the row you were in while your mother was next to you, and that was when you made the formal introductions.
Your mom thrust her arm across you to shake his hand. “It’s so rude of my daughter to not tell us more about you.  How old are you? How much money does a mechanic make? How long have you two known each other?”
Your eyes glazed over as you wished to god the ceremony would just start already so she could stop talking, but Eddie handled it with such grace and ease.  He even offered to switch seats with you so that he could talk to your mother more, mostly just to give you a break from her, and as you stood up to let him scoot into the middle, pulling him in for another kiss to let him know how much you appreciated it.
The wedding itself was lovely, your cousin cried and looked very much in love.  Eddie squeezed your hand when he heard you sniffle, passing you a blue and white handkerchief from his back pocket. You had this passing thought that he didn’t have a single flaw, but then you remembered what he did for a living, and the realization that he wasn’t perfect comforted you.
You started drinking as soon as time would allow, clinking your wine glass against Eddie’s beer, taking a few generous swallows on the way to the dining room.  Your mother sat across the round table from the two of you, so Eddie finally had a break from her, but now he had one of your aunts to deal with.  She was already tipsy, though, so she just kept telling him that he would’ve been her type back when she was his age.  Eddie pretended to be flattered, at least you thought he was pretending? The wedding colors were pink and lime green, and you moved the floral centerpiece a few inches to the right so your mother couldn’t stare at you.
By the time the main course was being served, you and Eddie could not keep your hands off of each other.  He’d had his hand on your knee under the table the whole time, but as he got bolder, his fingers dipped in under your dress, dragging along your inner thigh, until his knuckle was moving at your slit.  Your breath hitched and you squirmed, making him pull his hand away, but you caught his wrist to let him know not to stop.
Your nylons and underwear were creating a barrier that you desperately wanted to be rid of to give him full access. You spread your knees open as far as you could without touching your neighbor, inviting him deeper.  Your panties were soaked by the time he pulled away to use both hands to cut his steak, and then he choked on his bite when your hand slipped under the curtain of the chartreuse tablecloth to palm his cock through his pants.  He was hard, and it made your hole clench around nothing where you sat, staring across the room at where the bride and groom sat with their party, offering a tight, distant smile.
Normally, being so bold was not your style. But he was, indeed, yours for the night, wasn’t he? He’d signed off on this, and he’d been so damn good to you all night, your body ached for him. After the lights dimmed and the DJ called the bride and groom to the floor for the first dance, you stood up and took him by the elbow, urging him to join you for a slow dance to You Were Meant For Me by Jewel.  His cloth napkin fell from his lap to the ground when he stood, and like a gentleman, he had to bend over to pick it up first and set it on his chair, excusing himself to the others.
“I was planning on saving my dancing energy for Slayer,” Eddie said, trapping you in his arms, flush to his chest, feet carrying you in a slow circle.  Your cheek was at his shoulder, your nose inhaling the woodsy scent of his shampoo.
“We can start the mosh pit,” you assured, to which he tightened his arm around you.  You planted a kiss on his throat above his collar and Eddie closed his eyes, remembering Steve’s advice and feeling like the opportunity was approaching.
Halfway through the song, there was a tap at your shoulder and Eddie stiffened.
“I thought that was you, Eddie,” a female voice cooed.  “Fancy meeting you here.”
You turned to see a beautiful blonde woman with striking green eyes, pin straight hair down past her shoulders, and a serious rack pushed up in her slim, turquoise dress giving Eddie the hungriest eyes you’d ever seen.  She was older, 40’s maybe, and your attention flicked from him to her, taking note of how uncomfortable he suddenly was, locking his palm to your lower back so you wouldn’t go anywhere.
With deep reluctance, Eddie introduced the two of you, and the woman winked, whispering, “I’m one of his clients, too.”
Your blood ran cold.
You had no idea who this woman was, possibly from the groom’s side of the family, but your mind raced to figure it out, the need to run screaming out of the building itching in your veins.  Your worst fear had come true: someone knew your secret and you’d soon be outed as paying a gigolo to be your date.
“Wait,” Eddie snatched you close as you tried to walk away.  He took your hand, nodding his head in your direction.  “This is my, um, girlfriend.”
“Oh?” The woman was painfully shocked and confused.  “Does this mean you’re no longer offering your...services? I was going to see if you were available to go to Chicago with me next month.”
Eddie leaned toward her, trying to whisper.  “I’ll refer you to Steve or Billy, but later, okay? Not here.”
“Oh of course, of course,” she winked again, almost as if she had a tick.  She squeezed your arm as she went by, her eyes on Eddie.  “You’re a lucky girl. He’s the best.”
The Jewel song ended, replaced by Unbelievable by EMF and you freed yourself from Eddie’s grasp to bolt out of the main dining room, pushing through groups of people and dodging tables.  Eddie was on your heels, jogging up just as you went around the corner, clutching your stomach.
“Hey,” he touched your arm, tilting his head to look in your eyes, his hair falling off his shoulder.  “I’m really sorry
about that, and for the girlfriend thing.  I just didn’t want her to think that—”
“That I’m paying you to be here with me?” Your words came out a bit louder than you’d meant them to and a couple walking into the party snapped their heads in your direction. “Why not, it’s the truth.”
“Come here,” he took your hand, pulling you behind him, checking around for a place you could talk privately.  The restrooms were busy with people in and out, one door was locked, but the door at the other side of the reception area opened into a living room with a fireplace, a master bathroom, and a bunch of makeup, champagne, and clothes everywhere that you assumed belonged to the bride and her friends.
Eddie called out to make sure no one else was in there, and then he locked the door behind him.  Your anxiety was through the roof, but you’d learned fairly recently that there was one thing that could cure it.
“Listen I—” Eddie closed in on you, wanting to explain, but you met him with a different type of urgency, clutching the front of his shirt and pulling his mouth to yours.
“Please fuck me,” you begged.  “That’s what I want right now.”
“But I want to make sure you—”
“Please, Eddie,” you whined, running your fingers along the outline of his cock.  You were possessed, and Eddie didn’t mind it.  He was caught off guard, sure, but he was quick to sit down on the couch and pull you with him, spinning you around so that you were in his lap, back flush to his chest, facing the unlit fireplace.
You scrambled to pull the taffeta of your dress up, pooling it up at your waist, and Eddie’s hand slid down to find the heat between your legs.  You arched your head back and his lips tickled the shell of your ear.  “Are you my eager girl?”
You whimpered, nodding, too impatient to properly take your nylons off, so you tugged at the material, slashing them open at the crease in your thigh with a few rips, exposing the tell-tale wet spot on your underwear, and Eddie’s hand dove right for it.  Rolling your body, you turned your head to meet his kiss while the pads of his fingers unraveled you, pushing the material aside to groan at what he found there. You rode your ass up and down on his cock, feeling it grow beneath you.
He hissed a few dirty things in your ear, and you spun around to drop to your knees on the floor between his legs, working frantically at his belt and zipper to free his now throbbing length.
“Fuck, baby,” Eddie hissed, but then you yanked his boxers down, and your mouth found the soft underside of his tip, glistening already, and sucked it in, twirling your tongue.  His head rolled on the back of the couch as you worked your hand and mouth down a few times, saliva running down your fingers and to his patch of hair at the base.  You licked the tip and kissed it, and then wrapped your lips around it again.
Wannabe by Spice Girls could be heard on the other side of the building as all the girls on the dance floor screamed.  Eddie’s cock popped out of your mouth when he pulled your head up to kiss you, urging your back flat to the floor, and then you were coaxing him on top, bending your knees up and spreading your legs wide, opening yourself for him.
Was this the moment? Eddie wondered, fingering your underwear to the side, sliding the tip of his length up and down your slit, while you bit your lip and bucked your hips, greedy for it.
“Hey, I need to say something,” he braced one hand by your shoulder, finding your eyes.
“Right now?” You breathed, your hole pulsing, nearly sucking him in.
“It’s important,” and he emphasized it by slapping your pussy with his thick cock, watching the way your face lit up at the impact.  “I really like you.”
You swallowed hard, not prepared for such sincerity.  “I like you, too,” you managed.
Eddie sat back on his heels, pinning your legs on either side of him, fingers spread out on your thighs, chocolate eyes flicking around your face.  “I don’t want you to pay me for tonight.  And I want to take you out again, after this.  I want you to get to know me because this isn’t who I am.”
Something in his tone suggested that he anticipated a rejection, but you just frowned curiously.  “Yeah, okay.  I’d like that too.”
“Really?” Eddie balked, thrusting so that his tip tapped your entrance, making your mouth seize open.
“Yes, really,” you scooted your hips toward him.  “Please fuck me now?”
Eddie fell forward, bracing his forearm by your head, tips of his hair grazing your cheek while his cock sank in, making you both curse.  “Goddamn,” he gasped, tongue parting your lips, his entire body trembling.  “To feel you with my skin is everything.”
He worked your clit with his thumb and after all the build up, it wasn't long before you were already on the verge.
“Babybabybaby
fuck,” you cried out, slamming your pelvis up to meet him.
“God I love the way you feel,” Eddie grunted, pausing for a second so he wouldn’t cum too fast, but then you were chanting his name, warm wet walls milking him as the orgasm rolled through you, and he was barely able to pull out in time.  He sat back to work the exploding head with a few hand pumps, ropes of hot cum shooting onto the shredded material of your ripped nylons, shivering and moaning as he did so.
That was when the door on the other side of the room, the one you forgot to lock, flew open to the sound of women chattering.  You’d heard the voices getting closer, but in the heat of the moment, hadn’t planned on there being a second entrance.  You tilted your head back, chin up, to give an upside-down greeting to the horrified faces of the bride, her mother, and a couple of the bridesmaids. The Macarena song blared loud enough to shake the foundation of the building.
With his dick still fisted in one hand, Eddie waved with the other.  “Hey, ladies, great party.”
—----
The two of you took off out of the building like a shot after you were discovered.  Racing across the pavement on bare feet, your shoes in one hand, and Eddie’s hand in the other, his open belt flapping loose at his hip.  His hair flying out behind him, as both of you did a poor job of containing the cries of amusement and squeals of unbridled joy.
Inside Eddie’s Firebird, you were both laughing so hard, there were tears rolling down your cheeks.  Eddie had the radio on, and the song The Flame by Cheap Trick was playing.
“Do it again,” you snorted.  “Make the face.”
And then, on cue, Eddie’s face contorted into the exact expression your aunt made when she walked in on the fornicating, his fists tight around the steering wheel.  Your cousin, and her two bridesmaids had chuckled, averting their gaze.  But your elderly aunt? You were sure she would never be the same, and probably tried to bleach her eyes out later.
“Oh god, that was so horrible,” you put your head back against the seat, your hands over your face, and then you slid them down to rest at your clavicle.  “But also, the best thing that could’ve ever happened.”  You never knew how good it would feel to rebel in that way.  Of course, your aunt was probably explaining it all to your mother at that very moment, and the two would speculate on your “mental issues” for the rest of the evening.  The beauty of it was, for the first time in your life, you really did not care.  There was something about the way Eddie looked at you and treated you that made you feel like you weren’t as damaged as your family made you out to be.  With Eddie at your side, you felt invincible; you felt free.
Eddie turned his head to the side to fix his gaze on you and put his hand out, palm up for you to take.  Thoughtfully, you matched up your palm with his and intertwined your fingers.  “You looked so beautiful tonight. I was really proud to be there with you.” He took a thoughtful pause and then: “So did you mean what you said earlier? Can I take you on a real date?”
Your cheeks exploded with heat, unable to maintain eye contact.  “Eddie, I really do like you, but it’s just—-”
You moved your jaw from side to side, stare fixed on the other cars parked in the lot.  “---I’m not sure how comfortable I’ll be knowing you’re sleeping with all of these other women.”
Eddie blew out a hard exhale, releasing your hand to fidget with a coin on the console.  “Yeah, I was afraid of that.  I don’t blame you, I’m not comfortable with it either.” He sat back to plant his hands at his knees.  His suit jacket was off, and his black shirt was unbuttoned further down his chest. “I want you to know that I never planned on doing this forever.  My uncle—uncle Wayne—his insurance is shit and he’s been paying out the nose for cancer treatments, so this is how I help him with that.  The jobs I’m skilled to do out in the real world could never pay this well.  Besides, it’s hard for me to be intimate with other people when I
when I have feelings for someone.”
You turned in your seat to look at him and brought your knee up, searching his profile.  “What if you end up having feelings for one of your clients? I think that would always worry me.”
He turned in his seat to face you, honey brown eyes dark and earnest.  “Listen, I understand your concern baby, but I’ve been doing this for almost 3 years now? I’ve never wanted someone the way I wanted you that first night.”
You let that sink in, your mind tripping over the “almost 3 years” part, trying to calculate how many sexual partners he’s had during that time. You reasoned that the sex worker profession was as old as time, and there were plenty of people out there who slept around a lot but didn’t get paid for it.  As a single man, and as handsome as he was, Eddie could've easily had sex with just as many women, and would you hold it against him then?
“I don’t want to scare you off,” his jaw muscles tightened.  “But I’ve been looking for a reason to get out of the gigolo trade, and I think I found it.”
“I’m going crazy
I’m losing sleep
I’m in too far
I’m in way too deep
Over you”
“What about this,” he reached out for your hand again.  “What if we keep it casual and get to know each other as friends until I get a new job, find another way to make a living,” his gaze was on your held hands, his thumb caressing yours.  “Would you wait for me?”
“I don’t know about that,” your words came out on an exhale.  Eddie closed his eyes, waiting for the inevitable rejection.  “I don’t know if I could keep this casual, to be honest.  I think I already like you too much.”
“You’ll always be the one
You were the first
You’ll be the last”
His eyes shot open, and a smile hitched up one side of his mouth. “Yeah, I don’t think I could, either.”
You chuckled softly, and then chewed a bit at your bottom lip.  “This is very new territory for me, and I think we should take it one day at a time,” you reasoned.  “I don’t want my boyfriend to be having sex with other women, but I also don’t want to lose you.”
“Your boyfriend?” Eddie grinned, teasing you with a wiggle of his eyebrows.
You playfully tried to free your hand from his grasp, but he only snatched you closer, catching your cheek with his other hand.  He swept his thumb across your cheekbone and rubbed his nose along yours, barely skimming your lips with his.  “What do you say? You wanna be my girl?”
You covered his hand with yours, a happy sob hitching in your throat. “With all my heart.”

A/N: This adorable story has been very soothing for me to write, and even though the "official" story is finished, I already have some plans for blurbs and maybe a one shot down the road. My ask box is always open if there are certain scenarios you'd like to read more about when it comes to these two sweethearts. I'd also LOVE to do a gigolo!Steve version, but do not have immediate plans for it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those who cared enough about this story to comment and reblog! it really is a big deal to us, your fic writers ❀
------
I didn't have a taglist planned, but a few of you were really sweet about it so I hope you enjoy! @micheledawn1975 @emma77645 @battinsonwhore05 @magnificantmermaid @erinsingalong

Tumblr media
“Today is the day.” You sighed into Aaron’s chest as you nuzzled closer into his warm embrace. It was early and you could already hear the chaos of the day echoing up the stairs to you room. The shrill voices of your mom and Sarah sent shivers through your body as memories of last night’s drama glazed through your head. Aaron wrapped his arms tighter around you and rubbed light, comforting circles on your arm with his thumb.
“We get through today and then we fly home tomorrow night.” Aaron murmured against the top of your head.
“Am I crazy if I say I’ve actually missed the BAU?” You asked and Aaron laughed lightly.
Suddenly, a loud knock echoed from your bedroom door, closely followed by your mom’s voice.
“I hope you two are up and getting ready. There’s breakfast set up in the kitchen!” She called cheerily followed by the sound of her feet descending down the stairs.
“I’ll get in the shower quickly and then should we go downstairs for breakfast?” Aaron suggested.
“Sounds like a plan.” You smiled and tilted your head up so you could place a light peck on his jaw. Aaron smiled and swiftly climbed out of bed, leaning down to place a kiss on your lips before making his way to the bathroom.
You got out of bed yourself and pulled on one of Aaron’s jumpers before the buzz of your phone caught your attention. You quickly picked it up and glanced at the screen. 3 missed calls and 8 texts from Emily. How on earth did you miss them? As soon as you heard the running water coming from Aaron’s shower, you immediately called her. She answered almost instantly.
“Hello?” You said.
“Oh my god! Where have you been? It’s been 2 days and I’ve heard nothing from you!” Emily shouted exasperatedly down the phone.
“I know! I’m so sorry! The last few days have been
a lot to say the least.” You replied.
“What’s been going on? Have you and Hotch been having insane, crazy-hot, lust-filled sex for two days straight? Is that why you haven’t been replying to my texts or answering my calls?” Emily asked.
“Emily!” You hissed.
“That wasn’t a no
oh my god you slept together!” She exclaimed matter-of-factly. “Was it good? Wait, I don’t know if I want to know that
oh what the hell, what was it like?” The questions came flooding out of her life a waterfall.
“Ok! We had sex but that’s all I’m telling you!” You replied frustratedly.
“I knew it! I knew you two would do it! Please just describe it in three words.” Emily pleaded down the phone.
“Fine! Best. Sex. Ever.” You said and Emily squealed excitedly in response.
“So are you and Hotch officially a couple now or?
” Emily asked and it caused you to stop and think. With the trip coming to an end, were you two now a couple? Both of you had declared your love for one another so surely that counted as some sort of idea where your relationship status sat?
“We haven’t put any labels on it yet but we have been very open with our feelings.” You explained.
“Well, tell Hotch that if he doesn’t make it official with you by the time you’re back in DC, I’ll be having words with him.” She said. “I’m putting money on the two of you being married by next year.”
“Oh my god Emily!” You laughed. “Slow down! We haven’t even really discussed telling the team about this.”
You were then suddenly aware of the absent sound of running water, realising Aaron was no longer in the shower.
“Look Em, I have to go. I’ll call you tomorrow?” You said.
“Will you actually answer my calls this
” you hung up before Emily could finish her sentence just as Hotch stepped out the bathroom, his towel wrapped around his hips and water trickling down his chest. You took your lip between your teeth, taking in Aaron’s torso as though it was the first time seeing it.
“Enjoying yourself?” Aaron’s chuckle drew you from your thoughts.
“Sorry!” You blurted out, turning around and throwing your phone on the cabinet. “You’re just hard not to admire.”
“Same could be said about you.” He smiled boyishly. “You look beautiful.”
“Stop talking shit Hotchner!” You laughed, throwing a pillow at him which he managed to catch with one hand, the other keeping the towel wrapped firmly around his hips.
“You look cute in my jumper.” He laughed. “I’m actually finding it hard not to come over and rip it off you.”
“Aaron! As much as I would like us to, we do not have time for sex right now!” You scolded him lightheartedly and he chuckled. “Get dressed and we’ll go get some breakfast.
As soon as Aaron was dressed, you both headed downstairs and were met by what looked like the entire bridal party.
“Jesus Christ.” You mumbled to Aaron as the two of you looked at the several bridesmaids all fussing around Sarah as she sat on a chair having her hair done, occasionally taking a bite of fruit.
“Good! You’re both here. Help yourself to breakfast!” Your mom ushered you in and handed you plates. You scooped up some fruit and pastries. You looked around for somewhere to sit and decided to settle on a stool at the kitchen island next to Liv who was already in her bridesmaid dress and sipping on a large mimosa.
“A little early don’t you think?” You joked.
“Of course not! There’s a wedding to celebrate.” She said in an attempt to mimic your mom before pouring you your own glass of champagne. “Drink!”
You clinked you glass with hers and took a large sip just as Aaron came and sat next to you.
“Would you like a mimosa Aaron? Or would you like something stronger?” Liv asked him.
“No, I’m fine thank you Liv.” He smiled.
“I never got a chance to thank you last night for punching Luke.” She continued and you smiled into your champagne flute. “It truly brought me so much joy.”
Aaron laughed nervously. “While it did feel right, it probably wasn’t one of my smarter ideas.”
“Oh no trust me honey,” you smiled. “It was one of the smartest ideas you’ve ever had.” And Liv nodded her head in agreement.
Aaron opened his mouth to reply but a stern voice caught all three of your attention.
“Y/N.” Sarah said, her hair and makeup all finished now. “Can we please talk?”
You nodded and the two of you walked into the study down the hall.
“What did you want to talk about?” You asked as soon as Sarah shut the door behind her.
“I want to accept your apology for last night.” Sarah said and you had to stop yourself from laughing.
“Are you serious? I have nothing to apologise for. Luke got what was coming to him. He’s a fucking ass.” You reply trying to keep your frustrations at bay.
“You two have been over for nearly two years now. Just get over it and move on.” Sarah replied angrily. “Luke is actually trying to make an effort to be nice and civil with you and you’re just so rude to him.”
You laughed loudly at her preposterous suggestion. “Funnily enough, calling me a slut doesn’t exactly scream being nice and civil.”
“You’re going to ruin my wedding.” She replied, tears threatening to spill from Sarah’s eyes. “Just be a good maid of honour and behave yourself.
“Behave myself? What am I? A disobedient dog?” You were angry now. “Fine! I’ll play all happy for now but if one thing happens with Luke, I don’t care anymore, I’ll punch him again myself and hope this time his nose does actually break!” And with that, you threw the study door open and strode out down the hall, back to the kitchen.
As soon as you appeared back in the kitchen, Aaron knew something was wrong. He excused himself from where he was stuck in a conversation with Liv and some other bridesmaids and made his way over to you.
“Are you ok?” Aaron asked as he placed a hand on your hip.
“Let’s just go upstairs and get ready.” You said, the feeling of Aaron’s hand on your hip helping you relax ever so slightly.
***
“Ok, how do I look?” You asked Aaron, stepping out of the bathroom to show him your bridesmaid dress. It was a gorgeous lilac satin that hugged your figure perfectly. “Sarah may be psychotic but I commend her for her choice of dress.”
Aaron looked up from where he was sitting on the bed. He had been ready for a while now but had no complaints after he saw you. He was utterly speechless. He thought nothing could top the green dress you wore last night but god, was he wrong.
“Do I look ok? Your silence is worrying me.” You laughed nervously.
“You look
” Aaron stood up and walked over to you, completely in awe of your appearance. “You look incredible.” A kiss on your lips. “Ethereal.” A kiss on your jaw. “Fucking beautiful.” A kiss down your neck.
Heat rose to your cheeks at Aaron’s words and you giggled as he continued to kiss and nibble at your neck.
“I need you.” Aaron groaned against your skin. “This dress is
hypnotic. You have me completely under your spell.”
You moaned quietly as he nipped some skin at the base of your neck. “Aaron
”
“Y/N?
” He imitated.
“We
need to go.” You gasped as Aaron raked his hand over your ass and up your back.
“I know
” he mumbled before pulling away and looking at you, his dark, lust-filled eyes locking onto yours. You leaned up and kissed him once more before walking to fetch your heels. “Such a tease.” Aaron chuckled as he watched you go and straightened his tie.
You smirked to yourself, you had no idea the bridesmaid’s dress was going to have such an effect on him. You were going to have fun with him at the wedding.
When you walked downstairs, Aaron’s hand placed at the small of your back to keep you balanced, gasps erupted and you looked up to see your mom, dad and Liv.
“No sorry! You have to take that dress of right now.” Liv said with a pout. “Because you look way hotter than me in it!” She laughed and you jokingly rolled your eyes.
“Let me get a picture of you two!” Your mom said excitedly, reaching for her camera and snapping you and Liv stood together in the hallway.
“Is bridezilla ready yet?” You asked which made Liv laugh and your mom throw you an annoyed look.
“Your sister is just having some photos taken by the photographer in the garden. You two will be needed soon for the bridesmaid’s shots.” Your mom explained.
“Have you seen Sarah yet dad?” You asked.
“Yes I have. She looks beautiful. Can’t believe my youngest girl is getting married.” He chuckled and you laughed along falsely and reached for one of the many champagne flutes scattered around the house, knocking it back.
“Y/N! Liv! We need you for photos.” One of the other bridesmaids, Lucy, called.
You walked outside and that was when you saw Sarah in her wedding dress. It was gorgeous with the most beautiful train and veil.
“Quick guys! We need to leave very soon.” Sarah called.
“Where’s the maid of honour?” The photographer asked and you awkwardly raised your hand. “Perfect, can you stand on the right side of the bride please?” And you took your place.
Sarah smiled at you. “You look beautiful sissy.”
You smiled at the nickname the two of you used when you were younger. “Thank you. You look gorgeous. Thomas is going to cry when he sees you.”
“You really think?” She asked with tears in her own eyes and you nodded.
The photographer quickly snapped some pictures of just the two of you together before taking several shots of the whole bridal party and some of Sarah with your parents. As soon as all photographs had been taken, it was time to head to the wedding venue.
***
Chaos. An hour until Sarah was to walk down the aisle and the rings had been misplaced. Sarah was on the verge of tears while your mom comforted her and everyone frantically searched for where the rings could have disappeared to. You had looked everywhere with absolutely no luck.
“What if they were left at home?” You asked.
“No! I definitely had them packed up in one of the boxes ready to come here.” Sarah said frustratedly. “Can you go and check with Luke? He might know where they are.
“Can’t someone else?’ You asked which in turn resulted in harsh glares from Sarah and your mom. “Fine! I’ll go and find him.” You said exasperatedly, rolling your eyes.
You left the room, closing the door behind you and saw Aaron down the hall on the phone to someone. As soon as he saw you, he said bye to whoever he was talking to and came over to you.
“Sorry, that was Dave. Just filling me in on the case the team are taking. You ok?” He asked.
“No
the wedding rings have gone missing so as my role as maid of honour, I am being forced to find them.” You sighed. “I just want the ground to swallow me up because now I have to go and find Luke to ask him if he knows where they are.”
“I’ll come with you?” He offered.
“No, it’s fine. I think I’ll survive.” You smiled and leaned up to place a peck on his lips. “I will see you in a minute.” And you headed to the other side of the building to where Luke would be.
“Sorry Matthew,” you tapped Thomas’ dad on the shoulder. “Have you seen Luke? I need to speak with him.”
“He should be just down the hall.” He slurred and you could smell the whiskey on his breath. “Just as long as you don’t punch him again!” He joked and you awkwardly laughed.
You rushed down the hall and saw Luke standing outside, taking a drag on a cigarette.
“Luke!” You called and he turned to you, quickly throwing his cigarette on the floor and stepping on it.
“What?” He asked abruptly and you took in his appearance. A cut across his nose and a slightly bruised eye. “That asshole boyfriend with you?”
“Aaron is here but he doesn’t feel the need to accompany me everywhere.” You rolled your eyes. “The rings are missing. Sarah wants to know if you knew where they were?”
“Yeah. They’re here.” And he fished into his suit pocket, pulling out two silver bands.
You snatched them from his fingers, frustration brewing. “For god’s sake! We have been looking everywhere for them. Why did you think it was a good idea to have them in your pocket?”
“Jesus Christ, chill!” Luke said defensively. “I didn’t know what was happening with them.”
“Well then you should have left them alone! You’re not the one who had to deal with a crying Sarah.” You replied. “Lucy’s daughter is bringing them down the aisle. I thought being the best man, you would have known that.”
“Fucking hell, do you always have to be so uptight about everything? You wonder why I dumped you!” He exclaimed and you sighed turning around to walk away. “At least with your sister knows how to have a good time. She was better in bed anyway.” And almost instantly, he realised what he had said and fear filled his eyes.
Your steps faltered at his words. You couldn’t move. Did Luke really just admit to sleeping with your sister? You turned slowly back around to face him and saw the worry in his eyes. All body function froze as you struggled to find the words to say.
“You
you slept with my sister?” You finally managed to ask. “When?
 Why?
”
“It was
it was a month before we broke up.” Luke mumbled. “God, I didn’t want you to find out like this
I thought Sarah was going to tell you.”
You felt like you couldn’t breathe, tears began to cloud your vision as you took the information in.
“I mean, we knew it was wrong but we just couldn’t stay away from each other,” Luke continued. “And then after a month of sleeping together, I knew I had to end it with you. We carried on together well after you left but then she started dating Tom and she ended it.”
You couldn’t believe what you were hearing. Luke cheated on you with your sister
 who the fuck does that?
“I
I have to go.” You muttered and quickly bolted down the hallway. So many thoughts flooded your head and you tried your best to stop the tears from spilling from your eyes. As you turned the corner you walked straight into someone who immediately grabbed you to keep you steady in your ridiculously high heels. You looked up and were met with the familiar face of Aaron. He immediately noticed the tears in your eyes and his eyes filled with concern. You threw your arms around him and buried your face in his neck, breathing in his cologne.
“Honey?
What’s wrong?” He asked worriedly. “Did something happen?”
“I’m trying so hard not to cry.” You croaked out. “It’s just
I don’t even know what to say.”
Aaron pulled away from your embrace and looked at your flushed face. “You’re worrying me Y/N,” he said with a frown. “What happened?”
You collected your thoughts and took a deep breath in before looking into Aaron’s eyes.
“Just hold me.” You muttered and Aaron pulled you close to his chest again, holding you in a tight hug and stroking your hair in an attempt to comfort you. You stayed like that for a few minutes and soon the shock of Luke’s revelation had worn off. Aaron pulled back and looked down at you, hoping you were going to tell him what had happened.
“What happened Y/N?” Aaron asked again.
You looked up at him and took a deep breath. “I found the rings, Luke did have them.”
“Ok
that’s good.” Aaron replied nonchalantly but was desperate to find out what head caused you to become so upset.
“I also found out that
” you took a deep breath. “Sarah and Luke had also been sleeping together
 while we were still together.”
Aaron was left speechless. He thought he couldn’t despise Luke anymore but god he was wrong. He looked in your eyes and noticed that you were no longer upset but were now
actually, he had no idea how you were feeling.
“Y/N?” Aaron asked in an attempt to understand your emotions.
You looked up at Aaron and then back at the room Sarah was currently getting ready in before the built up anger of the weekend spilled out of you.
“Sarah had given my nothing but shit the whole time we’ve been here.” You began and Aaron took ahold of your hand to try and calm you down but he knew you had every right to be annoyed. “I have worked my ass off to try and appease her and get on with Luke and now it all makes sense. She didn’t want me to find out that she had been fucking him right under my nose!”
Before Aaron could even open his mouth to reply, you had pulled away from him and was walking towards where Sarah was. You threw the door open and Sarah immediately looked up with a hopeful smile.
“Did you find the rings?” She asked.
“Yeah I did.” You smiled falsely and began to walk into the room. “You know what I also found?”
Sarah shook her head while excitedly talking the wedding rings from your hand. “What?”
“I also found out that you and Luke were sleeping together behind my back.” And Sarah’s head quickly snapped up to look at you, panic completely filling her face.
“Y/N
 it’s not what you th
” she paused as she realised there was no saving herself. “I’m sorry! I wanted to tell you, I really did! I just could never find the right time and then I started dating Tom and I thought it was best to just pretend it never happened.”
“Does Tom know?” You asked.
“I was going to tell him after the wedding.” Sarah mumbled.
“That’s a great idea.” You laughed. “Tell him you repeatedly fucked his best friend right after you married him.”
“Please Y/N
can we just leave this until after the wedding?” Sarah begged.
“You are unbelievable!” You exclaimed. “Tom deserves to know.”
“I deserve to know what?” Tom asked as Luke guided him into the room. His eyes were covered with a silk eye mask.
“Wait, what is happening?” You ask confused.
“Sorry baby, are you not ready yet for our first look?” Tom asked waving his arms in front of him in an attempt to grab Sarah’s arms.
“No I am ready, Y/N was just leaving.” Sarah huffed.
“Nope, I’m staying right here.” You said, taking a seat on the cushioned chair. Sarah glared at you while Luke attempted to leave the room. “Sarah actually has something to tell you Tom, don’t you sissy?” You condescendingly used the childhood nickname, the same nickname that had you wanting to be the perfect big sister and mid of honour mere hours ago,
“Oh my god
honey, are you pregnant?” Tom asked excitedly.
“No I
” Sarah’s breath hitched and for a split second, you regret making her do this. She lifted her hands up and gently removed the eye mask from his face and Tom’s face lit up when he saw Sarah in her wedding dress.
“Oh Sarah baby, you look gorgeous.” He beamed but his face dropped when he saw Sarah’s glum face. “Wh
 what’s wrong?”
“I was sleeping with Luke.” Sarah said bluntly. “Just before we started dating but I ended it when we made it official.”
Tom froze, he opened his mouth to speak but no words came out.
“Please say something Tom. I’m sorry I never told you sooner.” Sarah said, tears filling her eyes.
“So
you were sleeping with Luke while he was dating your sister?” Tom asked. “How long has Y/N known?”
“Since 10 minutes ago.” You muttered and looked back at where Luke was standing at the doorway, a panicked look on his face.
“Tom I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before now,” Sarah repeated. “We can move on from this, be stronger as a couple.”
“Sarah I just need
a minute.” Tom sighed and quickly exited the room, Luke following him trying to offer apologies.
You turned to look at Sarah, her eyes filled with tears as she threw herself down on a chair.
“He’s not going to marry me.” She muttered. “Why did you force me to tell him?”
“Sarah
he had a right to know. Would you rather he found out from you or a drunken slip from Luke?” You asked.
“Just leave me alone! You really are the worst maid of honour and the worst sister.” Sarah shouted.
You stood up and quickly left Sarah to be by herself. Upon exiting the room, you saw Aaron and quickly walked up to him. You wrapped your arms around him and buried your head into his chest.
“Ok so
I’m the worst sister ever apparently.” You spoke into his chest.
“No you’re not,” Aaron mumbled into your hair. “She’s just angry you found out this way, you had every right to react the way you did.”
“But what if Tom calls off the wedding?” You asked, pulling back to look at Aaron. “Then Sarah really will hate me for the rest of my life.”
“Don’t worry about it, let’s go get some air, you need it.” Aaron said, intertwining your fingers together and guiding you towards the door. Once outside, you took in a deep breath and was thankful for the fresh air – the stuffiness and tension inside was suffocating. After a few minutes off a comfortable silence between the two of you, Aaron placed his arm around your shoulders and leaned down to place a kiss at his temple.
“Everything is going to be ok you know?” He said.
“How can you be so sure?” You questioned with a sigh.
“Because I’m a profiler.” He said and your rolled your eyes. “And I can see Tom coming back.” You suddenly snapped your head in the direction Aaron was looking and sure enough, Tom was striding towards you and Aaron, a determined look on his face.
“Is Sarah still inside?” He asked once he reached you.
You nodded.
“Thanks
” Tom said and then walked towards the entrance.
“I told you everything was going to be ok
I’m an excellent profiler.” Aaron turned to you with a smile.
You tried your best to fight the smile and jokingly punched him lightly on the arm. “Don’t jinx it, we don’t know what he’s saying to Sarah yet!”
“Stop being such a pessimist!” Aaron scolded jokingly, trying to lift your mood. “Come on, lets go inside and see if we can find out whats going on.” And the two of you walked back inside, hand in hand, ready to face whatever was coming
 together.

Here's a one shot for you(if you don't mind another one for me) Taffy finds out about the monster sooner via going into Lisa's closet. The situation ends up like that scene from Et. And Lisa makes Taffy promise to keep it secret. Honestly the monster ends up more scared from all the screaming than Taffy.
Tumblr media
I hope you like this one, I love messing around in canon.
đŸȘŠđŸȘŠđŸȘŠđŸȘŠđŸȘŠđŸȘŠđŸȘŠđŸȘŠđŸȘŠ
“Lis, have you seen my chunky white belt? I can’t remember if I ever got it back after you borrowed it for that brunch last month.”
If her stepsister responded, then Taffy couldn’t hear her, already too far away and crossing the threshold into Lisa’s bedroom to look for her missing accessory. It would go so well with the denim jacket she wanted to wear to Lori’s after practice that night, and she was sure that Lisa was the last person to wear it. Taffy was a little worried about her; she didn’t believe that she was crazy like her mom said, but she had to admit that when they came home from the movies last night and found the house trashed and Lisa, pajamas colored with a mysterious green stain and insisting it was a home break in, it didn’t look too good for her. But she was still determined to treat her as normally as possible, and give her the support their parents clearly wouldn’t.
That’s what sisters were for, after all.
Speaking of their parents, Dale had left for work already and her mom was at her morning aerobics class, so it was up to Taffy and Lisa to get themselves ready and to school on time. She hadn’t seen Lisa yet that day, their morning routines being just different enough to keep their paths from crossing. But when Taffy entered Lisa’s room, it was empty, meaning her stepsister must be either in the downstairs bathroom or having breakfast.
Humming a little Blondie to herself, Taffy crossed over to Lisa’s closet, taking a second to look at the poster of the weird moon with the face that Lisa insisted on hanging on the doors. She had tried to show Taffy the movie once, but despite her best efforts Taffy just
didn’t get it. But Lisa seemed to appreciate the fact that she tried, and that was good enough for her.
She was so engrossed in thoughts of other movies she and Lisa could watch that they might actually bond over that she didn’t really notice the man sitting on the floor of Lisa’s closet until she was already screaming.
To his credit, the man screamed too, a guttural sound made with a decaying and blackened mouth, which only made Taffy’s pitch rise. She didn’t stop as she sprinted through the bathroom, the hall, a third of the way down the stairs and smack-dab into Lisa, who was shouting and clearly headed up to see what the commotion was about. The two of them tumbled down the remaining few steps together in a jumble of limbs, landing at the bottom with a crash. Taffy didn’t even bother to assess her own bruises or ask Lisa if she was okay before she was on her feet and pulling her sister with her.
“Holy SHIT Lisa, we have to go, get up, we’ve gotta get out of here, there’s a guy in your closet, we’ve got to call 911, get to the car before he-AAAA!”
Taffy’s ramblings were cut off by a renewed bout of screams as she pointed at the specter that had just appeared at the top of the stairs, groaning at the two of them. She sidestepped as quickly as she could to get in front of Lisa in case he tried to make a move; every instinct she had was screaming for her to save herself, but she refused to let Lisa go down the same path her mom did if she could help it. But to her surprise, her sister was somehow quicker, ducking under Taffy’s arm and sprinting up the stairs so that she was stationed between the two, arms out like she was trying to break up a school fight.
“Woah woah woah, everyone just SHUT UP!”
Taffy was still getting used to hearing Lisa speak at all, so hearing her shout was incredibly effective. The sound in the room died almost immediately, the man shutting his mouth and looking a little too eager to do as Lisa said. Lisa took a deep breath before turning to Taffy, who refused to take her eyes off the stranger while her sister’s back was turned to him.
“Thank you. That’s better. Okay so, I was totally not planning on making introductions this early, or at all if I’m being honest, but here goes nothing. Taff, you remember how I was telling you about my favorite grave in Bachelor’s Grove the other night on the way to the party?”
Taffy risked taking her eyes off the sallow man at the top of the stairs just long enough to flick them to Lisa in confirmation.
Her sister held her hands up to the man in an exaggerated “ta da” gesture that left Taffy less impressed and more horrified. She looked in between the two frantically, not wanting to believe it.
“This
this is him?”
Lisa nodded, and ascended the last few stairs to join the corpse-holy fuck there was a corpse standing in her house-at the top, gently grabbing hold of his arm and pointing to where Taffy was standing in the foyer.
“My sister, Taffy.”
The dead man inclined his head and grunted in acknowledgement, and Taffy took a second to look at him. His skin was pallid and a little green, pulled tight over old bones. His right hand-was there even a hand there?-was wrapped in a green cloth, and his eye sockets were sunken, contrasting against impossibly bright pupils. His hair was shaggy and black, and he sported some totally old-fashioned mutton chops. Every alarm bell in Taffy’s head was still pinging away, but Lisa seemed perfectly comfortable around him, and she took a moment to adjust

“Is that my green blazer?”
To her credit, Lisa had the sense to look sheepish, shrugging with a small smile.
“Sisters share?”
Before Taffy could decide if she was happy about Lisa acknowledging their sisterhood or disgusted that she took advantage of said sisterhood to give her clothes to a dead man, Lisa descended the stairs again, approaching Taffy almost cautiously while the creature watched them from above. Lisa stopped right before she got to the cheerleader, reaching out like she was going to take her hand but stopping halfway, instead choosing to fiddle with her black lace sleeves. She didn’t meet Taffy’s eyes as she spoke.
“Listen, Taff. I know this is like
a wicked big ask, but do you think you could help me keep him a secret? I don’t want him to get like
shot or burned alive or whatever, and once you get over the smell he’s really sweet, and it would really mean a lot to me. Please?”
Lisa's bright blue eyes blinked up at her, hands clasped as she pleaded. Honestly, all of this was way too much for Taffy to process at 6:45 and the morning and definitely too much for her to process sober, so she just nodded, mentally making a note to drill Lisa on the circumstances behind the corpse’s presence later, as well as the corpse’s intentions with her sister.
Lisa seemed pleased that introductions had gone better than expected. She smiled brighter than Taffy had seen her in a long time and patted her dead crush on the shoulder.
“Well, now that that’s out of the way, you need to get back into my closet, and we need to go to school to have a totally normal day of hiding totally normal secrets. Meet you at the car in 5, Taff? Okay great, see you then!”
Without waiting for an answer, Lisa gave her stepsister a hurried thumbs up and literally pushed her undead friend into her bedroom, her black lace skirts flowing behind her. Taffy stared blankly at the spot where they had been standing, wondering if she had the mental capacity to drive after all this, yet alone to do calculus, before the image of Lisa’s outfit finally resonated with her.
“Wait, is that my dress?”

I only want you
this is chapter 3! The other chapters are posted on my page
This chapter is a little short but the next one will be much longer!
————-
When i woke up the next day i felt like actual shit. I looked at my phone and read the time
“wow 1:36pm” i said to myself. I got up to use the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror
“so i feel like shit and look like shit
great” i said as i turned on the shower to wash off the rest of my birthday makeup that hadn’t came off from all my crying last night.
After my long hot shower i felt a little better. I looked back at my phone and seen i had a few messages
Shoko [1:42]: hey girl, how are you feeling?
Shoko [1:54]: text me whenever you feel like it okay?
i instantly responded to her thanking her for comforting me last night and letting her know that i was okay. I changed into some pjs, went and brushed my teeth and then combed out my hair. I walked over to my room door and opened it. I looked down at where i threw the necklace at satoru last night and saw it wasn’t there. ‘he must’ve really taken it’ i thought to myself. i walked downstairs and saw suguru on the couch eating popcorn and watching a movie by himself. He looked over to me and then back to the tv
“good afternoon sleeping beauty” he said
“haha very funny. is mom and dad back yet?” i asked him as i sat down next to him on the couch, grabbing a handful of his popcorn
“nah, they’re extending their trip for an extra 2 days. they asked how the party went and wanted to talk to you but i told them you were still sleep. So just call them later” he said. i nodded and grabbed some more of his popcorn. I began watching the movie with him, after a few minutes of silence he spoke again
“so
. do you want to talk about it?” he asked, still looking at the screen
“talk about what?” i asked, acting clueless. Suguru sighed and grabbed the remote, pausing the movie.
“why didn’t you tell me?” he said and turned to face me. I stayed silent though
“y/n, you know you can tell me anything. I could have told you he was seeing riko and that probably would have saved you some heartbreak” suguru said
“i didn’t want you to be mad at me” i said, tears starting to fall from my eyes again
“ i wouldn’t have gotten mad. You can’t control who you have feelings for. Now if you and satoru had started dating
that’s a different conversation for a different time” he said
“but i’ve been in love with him for so long, i didn’t even know how to tell anyone other than shoko” i said
“come here” suguru said as he put the popcorn down on the coffee table and gave me a hug.
“it’s okay, there’s plenty of other people out there baby sis okay? don’t get so stuck on just one” suguru said
“i told him i hated him, he probably hates me now” i said, crying even harder
“he doesn’t hate you y/n. he was really upset actually. he blamed himself, he felt like he led you on somehow” i broke the hug and looked up at suguru
“what?! he didn’t do anything, i fell in love with him myself. i was just upset” i said, feeling guilty for letting my emotions get the better of me last night
“you can tell him that yourself then, once you’re ready to talk to him again. He also gave me this and told me to give it to you” Suguru took the necklace satoru had given me out of his pocket and handed it to me.
“i’ll talk to him later today” i told suguru as i took the necklace from him.
it’s now 8pm and i’ve been pacing back and forth in my room trying to decide if i should call satoru or not.
“just do it” i said to myself. I sat down on my bed and hovered my finger over the call button. after 3 minutes of battling with myself i finally pressed the call button. the phone only rang two times before he answered the phone
“hello?” he said, his voice sounding really deep like he just woke up
“hey
did i wake you?” i asked feeling bad for waking him up
“no, everything okay though?” satoru said, clearly lying but i let it slide
“yeah
i just wanted to call and apologize to you about how i acted last night. I shouldn’t have gotten so upset at you just because you rejected me. I’m sorry” i said to him, biting my bottom lip nervous of what his response was going to be
“it’s okay don’t worry about it!” he said. there was a quick moment of silence before satoru spoke up again
“but.. if i did start dating riko, would you stop talking to me?”
i didn’t answer for a few seconds. My heart still felt heavy at the thought of him dating another girl but i can’t be mad at him because he’s happy with someone who’s not me
“no” was all i had to strength to say to him without crying again
“okay, i won’t ask anymore questions. If you would’ve said yes i don’t think i would’ve asked her out anymore” satoru said jokingly
“damn i should’ve said yes then” i said half joking but half serious as i laughed back with him.
“Seriously though y/n, you really do mean a lot to me. I would be sad if you had decided to not speak to me anymore. Suguru almost beat my ass last night after seeing how upset you were” satoru said softly over the phone
“i guess i shouldn’t have made such a big scene, sorry” i said as i got underneath my blanket
“its cool. As long as we’re good now , that’s all that matters” he responded
we spoke on the phone for almost two more hours before we finally hung up.
It almost felt like nothing ever happened and that we were back to normal
maybe i can really move on from him
——————————————
y’all bare with me PLEASE. i feel like there’s so much talking and not enough action so i’m going to get around to that
. TRUST. The next chapter will most likely be a time skip so we can get a move on the relationships and everything

Babies, Finn Shelby
Tumblr media
I aged Finn to 21 for the sake of the plot. Also, this doesn’t follow season five or six.
Warnings: Talks of baby-making, but no actual baby-making.
Word count: 1.3k~
When Tommy asked Finn to stay late all this week, Finn originally thought it would only be for an hour or so. However, as it would turn out, Finn started coming home around eleven every night exhausted as Tommy would keep him and his brothers so busy. With me being the one to watch the Shelby children (including all of John’s little ones), I was just as exhausted when Finn got home. When our day off came, we were more than excited to just stay in bed and catch up on well-needed rest. However, just as the clock struck six, we both woke up to the telephone ringing downstairs, and without having to answer the call, we both knew it was Tommy asking for Finn’s help today. Begrudgingly, we both got out of bed and got ready for the day.
The good thing is it wasn’t too bad of a thing that we ended up having to work. With Finn going in today, not only did Tommy promise us the next two days off, but he also gave us some extra money for whatever we wanted to do on those two days. Now, finally free, we both simply lie in bed together and enjoy the lack of responsibilities for once.
“So, what all did you do with the kids today?” Finn asks, one arm holding me close while the other rests on my satin-clad hip. It’s only now that we can truly spend time together and relax like we originally wanted to do earlier this morning. We may not have been able to do it at the time of which we wanted to, but at least we get to do it before midnight like every other night.
“Well, after walking with you to the office, I gathered up all the kids and headed back to our place,” I explain, adjusting my head on the pillow we currently share. “Aunt Pol ended up coming over to help since Tommy asked me to get Charlie new clothes as he’s getting bigger, of course, so I took him to shop. I don’t think your brother particularly enjoys shopping like I do, so he wanted me to take him,” At that, Finn lets out a small laugh.
“Darling, I don’t think anyone enjoys shopping like you do,” he chides, causing me to look at him with a curved eyebrow. Quickly, his smile softens and he speaks up once more, but not before dragging his lips against my neck repeatedly. “But there’s nothing wrong with that. Please, continue on.”
“If you keep doing that, I won’t be able to,” I joke, placing my hand on top of his combed down hair. He only smiles at this, but doesn’t stop his assault on my neck. “Afterward, I took him back here and I made some soup for all of us. I think Charlie’s starting to like more things now that he’s a bit older because I actually got him to eat squash today and I have never been able to-“
Within a matter of few seconds, Finn’s mouth has moved from my neck and down to top of my chest where his fingers begin to drag down my nightgown. “Finn,” I say his name aloud, watching him pay no mind to his name being called. At this, I giggle as his kisses only become rougher and his other hand moves to grip my other hip with a firm hold. “Finn, what has gotten into you? You’re- ah, you’re more fired up than usual,” I nearly moan out, his lips halting around the middle of my chest.
“When am I not this way around you?” He asks, his head popping back up at stare at me a questioning gaze. Now that I see his eyes, I realize they’re blown with lust.
“Never, but right now, you’re more eager than any other time,” I explain, sitting up a little to rest back on my elbows. “Was it something I said? Does squash get you going?” I ask, a joking grin taking over my lips.
Immediately, Finn looks taken aback. “What? God, no!” He nearly exclaims, shaking his head profusely. “No, it had nothing to do with that, it’s just...” he starts, but doesn’t finish. His eyes look away from mine and his freckled cheeks turn red with embarrassment.
At this, I sit up more and place a hand against his warm cheek. “Just what, love?” I ask softly, Finn’s eyes still avoiding mine.
“It’s just... hard,” he confesses, quickly continuing on afterward as he finally looks at me. “It’s hard because I want to have babies with you - in fact, I can’t wait to have babies with you,” Finn adds, his words causing my breathing to halt for a moment. His words are surprising enough, but the fact that his eyes continue staring into mine after he stopped talking is even more shocking.
Usually, Finn is timid and he’s not always completely confident in himself or what he’s saying. So, to see him not looking away or explaining himself in an attempt to justify his words shocks me. It’s rare to see Finn confident like now.
“You want to have babies
with me?” I ask, making Finn look dumbfounded.
“I married you; you’re the only woman I want to have babies with,” he states, blunt with each word. Relaxing a little, Finn holds himself above me as his stare never leaves me. “When I first met you, I knew you were going to have my children, and when I see you with my brothers kids, loving on them, kissing them, treating them as if they’re your own, I can’t help but feel the need to give you one,” Finn admits, his hand coming down to rest against my stomach. At his touch, my lips fall open with a small gasp, the movement causing a warm sensation to flow throughout me. Looking up at the ceiling, Finn’s head nods a little. “Well, more than one, but I figure that’s a good place to start.”
For a few moments, silence passes between us before a small laugh leaves my lips. “Okay,” I murmur, wrapping my arms around his neck and leaning up to place my lips on Finn’s soft ones. Immediately, Finn kisses back before pushing me to lie back down and pulling away with a smile.
“Okay,” he repeats my previous statement, nodding to himself as if he were grasping the situation. “Let’s
let’s have a baby,” he states, grinning to himself. I can’t help but share his excitement, my legs coming up to wrap around his hips to pull him closer to me.
“Yes, let’s,” I agree, my head going back as Finn’s lips return to my chest. With a mischievous smile taking over my lips, I say something I know will set him off. “In all honesty, when I first met you,” I start, pausing to let out a small gasp as he moves to focus on the side of my neck. “I knew I wanted to have your babies too.”
For a moment, Finn stops his assault on my neck, sparing me a glance for a few moments before his hands take a harsher grip on my hips and his lips find mine with a newly discovered urgency. Sure enough, my words did precisely what I wanted them to do, and I can’t help but anticipate what’s to come.

Do I wanna know if you’re falling in love with me?
a Carlos x y/n fic loosely based on Do I Wanna Know and Falling In Love With You. This is my first fic ever written, so be prepared. Maybe some spelling errors.
Word count: 2269
inspo from here
Tumblr media
There he was. Once again. Just you and him. Together. It was all too good to be true

“Carlos!!! Mijo, hurry. Time to wake up!”
Of course. Defeated, he decides to get out of bed. When he does, he realizes his hand is gripping on to something.
“Dios Mio”
It was the little bear he has had since he was a kid. A little maroon bear with buttons for eyes and his initials CM on its feet. Every time he dreams of you, the bear is held tight.
Once he puts the bear down and gets ready for the day (obvi making his hair cover his eye), he heads downstairs for breakfast.
“ Hola Tia,” he said while walking into the kitchen. “Ay Carlos, that’s the fifth time you’ve slept in this week,” Julieta said while cleaning the kitchen. “I know” “Another dream?” his Tia questioned as he went over to pour himself a cup of juice. “Si,” he responded before taking a sip.
His tia was one of the people he trusted. She knows about his little crush. How lately he’s been waking up late cause of his dreams.
“Why don't you say something?” she peaked up. Carlos shrugged his shoulders while taking a bite of an empanada that was sitting on the counter. “Mmm, this is really good. Did you try a new filling?” he questioned with food in his mouth, so good he kept going for another bite.
“Si! y/n gave me the idea, actually.” Upon hearing our name, a blush instantly appeared on his face. Of course, it didn’t help for him to think that you were getting along with his tia, someone he loves very much.
“Carlos? Que Pasa?” “nada,” he quickly denied anything. “Then what’s that color in your cheeks?” she says teasingly to the poor flustered boy. “I have to go now! Adios Tisa!” he said, quickly exiting the kitchen before it could get any worse. Watching the sight of her nephew leave in a fluster made her laugh to herself.
Tumblr media
In all fairness, Carlos really had nowhere to go. So he just decided to take a walk. Everywhere he passed, people were afraid. Oh, how he hated it. He hated it because he didn’t want you to as well. But according to his fears, he can't change how people see him, just like he can't shift the tide. It was something he couldn’t get rid of, like something in his teeth.
He was then snapped out of it when he heard a laugh. Not just anyone, though, yours. That damn laugh that made his knees weak. How he wanted to be the one to make you laugh, be right beside you and make you smile so big.
“That sounds crazy y/n,” Mirable said in between laughs, “I wish I could go with you.”
“...go?” Carlos mumbled under his breath. No, you can't go. You just came a few months ago. You can't just leave after coming into his life. It would make him sad to see you go. He was sort of hoping you’d stay in this little town he calls home, even if it wasn’t your first home.
Ever since you came into town, something inside him hasn't been the same. Ever since the Encanto mountains broke, people have been coming in (ofc after Abuela approved). Carlos didn’t mind the new people as long as they didn't bother him. They were also new prank victims, so that was a plus. But he couldn't do that to you. It’s like whenever he tries, his body stops him. A feeling you can't fight.
After learning about his defeat, he thought it was better to just go back home. The whole way back home, he dragged his feet and held his head low. Even when he arrived, Casita could see his mood and quietly opened its doors.
Tumblr media
As he trenched up the stairs and down the hall, he got stopped by a voice he knew all too well, almost like the little voice in the back of his head.
“Have you got the guts?” a hushed voice questioned. “ Que?” “When are you gonna tell them?” his sister kept questioning him. “Tell who what?” he kept denying. “Tell y/n that you are in love with them,” she finally said. “Love is a bit strong,” Carlos rebutted. “Dios Mio, you have no idea that you’re in deep,” she said dramatically; she couldn’t believe him. With this, Carlos gives Dolores a puzzled face. “You’re deeply head over heels for them,” she exclaimed. “You’re far from the truth,” he denied. “Then why did your heart start racing then,” she said with a little smirk, now seeing the color in his cheeks return.
Once he snapped back to it, his face turned upside down again. “ You overheard y/n and Mirabel, didn’t you?” With silence as her answer, she felt terrible for her Hermano.
After a while of no words exchanged, Carlos finally peaked up “...when do they leave?” “next week
you know-” “do I wanna know?” Carlos interrupts her. “Que?” she questioned, confused. “ Do I really wanna know if this feeling flows both ways?” he said, rolling his eyes in exaggeration and crossing his arms. “Talk to them then,” Dolores suggested. “When?” “Tonight,” she exclaimed before she started walking away. Then she stopped for a sec and turned her head towards him. “After all, the nights are mainly for saying what you can’t say tomorrow.” And with this, she continued walking away.
Tumblr media
Well, he was screwed. It was tonight. Now or never. After months of being in love having a crush, he was finally gonna confess. He was pacing around his room, stressing. He didn’t have a clue about what to do. NONE! As he defeatedly throws himself into his desk chair, he places his elbows on his desk and runs his hands through his hair (showing both his eyes).
Maybe he can come up with a plan! He grabs his notebook and pencil and starts writing ideas. Stargazing? No. Picnic? No. Tear after tear after tear. Each one ending up with a crumble, then being tossed. With agony, he bangs his head on the desk, clueless. When he turns his head, he catches a glance at his bookshelf. With the sunset peeking through his window, a ray of sun illuminated the books. A certain one caught his attention tho.
A brown leather-covered book with Spanish-styled details edged in gold. And on the cover, a heart with angel wings. “Of course!” The answer was in front of him all along. How could he be so stupid? Now all he needed was his guitar and a quick trip to the town square.
Tumblr media
His first step, get you to come. He transforms into a little red bird, and with his beak, he picks up a letter that he wrote.  As he started approaching your house, his nerves started to work up again. He was doing this. He was actually doing this. What if it didn't work? What if it was too stupid? What if he got rejected? What if you were already dating someone?! He was so busy questioning that he didn’t realize he had made it to your house and almost flew into it. But there he was, now flying right in front of your window.
“Tap tap..tap..” Getting up from your desk, you go to see what could possibly be making that annoying noise. When you go to open your curtains, you’re shocked to see a little red bird with a letter in between its beak. You quickly open your window to let the little bird in and see what it wants. The moment you peek open your window, he swiftly flies in, drops the letter on your desk, and leaves. He was so quick that you didn’t have time to process it, let alone blink. With curiosity, you walk back to your desk to see a red letter written in black cursive,
Dear y/n:
Tonight, follow this bird. It will be waiting for you at 12 am.
See you then, Hermosa ❀
“Her-Hermosa,” you say, surprised. The color in your cheeks was rising. You were over the moon, though!
Tumblr media
You made sure to eat your dinner faster tonight and get ready for bed quicker. Welllll, technically you weren’t going to bed, but your family didn’t know that.
After checking yourself in the mirror for the 20th time, you checked the time and saw it was 11:55 pm. “Here goes nothing,” you say to yourself, preparing for whatever may happen soon. You quietly open your bedroom door, making sure you woke no one up. As you creep down the stairs and to the front door, you didn't know you had stopped breathing until you made it outside.
It was a bit cold, not gonna lie. Waiting there, tapping your foot, you checked your watch. “12:01”. “Where is this bird?” you mumbled under your breath. You were getting a bit impatient since it was getting colder by the minute, only making you want to go inside more. Just when you say this, the bird lands on your shoulder, startling you. Then, with little chirps, the bird started flying away.
You start chasing after the bird as it begins to head farther from the town. You didn’t even realize you were running in the direction of the famous Madrigals house.
Running up a tiny hill nearby, you attempted to catch your breath once you reached the top. Hands on your knees, when you look up, you realize that you have lost the bird. “mierda,” you say breathlessly.
Suddenly, you feel a pair of cold hands wrap around your eyes. “You didn’t lose me, Hermosa,” a low, raspy voice whispered in your ear, so close you could feel his breath tickle your skin. “Keep your eyes closed, trust me.”
Well, it was too late now if you were being kidnapped. So you did as you were told and kept them closed.
Carlos couldn’t believe he was doing this. While he slowly removed his hands from your eyes, he cautiously started walking in front of you. Once standing face to face with you, he couldn’t help but just freeze for a second. How bad he just wanted to grab your face and feel your lips collide with his. But he knew he couldn’t. So he gently grabbed your hands as he started walking backward, guiding you to a little clearing.
Your mind was racing with millions of thoughts. Do I know that voice? Where is he taking me? Why did I agree to do this? Where even am I? All of a sudden, you felt him let go of your hands.
You stood there with your eyes still closed, patiently waiting for him to tell you what to do next. Then, out of nowhere, you start hearing a guitar strumming. Curiously, you peeked open your eyes. When you did, you were awestruck.
“ Wise men say only fools rush in.”
Carlos sang while looking down at his guitar. Around him was a circle of candles. Dimly lit up, allowing you to only see a figure of the stranger.
“But I can't help falling in love with you.”
He sang while slowly approaching toward you.
“No, I can't help falling in love with you.”
He lastly sang while now standing right in front of you, looking you in the eye.
As you two stood there, you were shocked. Now finally, being able to place a face on the mysterious admirer, you couldn’t believe it. Did thee Carlos Madrigal just say in song he loved you? You couldn't even mutter a single word.
“Look, y/n, I know we’ve barely known each other, but I’ve just been wondering lately if your heart's still open. Cause we can be together if you wanted to, regardless of whether you are gonna leave soon,” he rambled. He was so nervous, why weren't you saying anything?! He could barely even comprehend what he was even saying.
This was so much for you to process right now.
“I-i,” you tried to form words, but before you could even get them out, you were interrupted. “-Look, I get it if you don't want-” “Carlos!” you interrupted him. This shocked him and made him shut up. “I’ve had a crush on you for a while, too” “...really?” “yes, really,” you replied. He couldn’t believe it, you had just said you liked him back! His heart was now racing. Internally he was jumping up and down in joy.
“So we can be together then?” he said with excitement entangled in his tone. “Of course,” you answered. But then it hit him, “but aren’t you leaving soon? How would we make this work?”
You were confused. You never told him anything about leaving; how would he-oh. “Ay, the chisme of this town,” you groaned under your breath while pinching the bridge of your nose.
Well, you couldn’t have confused the poor boy any more than he already was.
“ I only leave for two weeks, you know that, right?”
He didn’t respond; all he could think of was how stupid he was. Is that what Dolores was trying to tell him earlier? Is this what he gets when he doesn’t listen to people fully?
When he didn’t respond and just stood there with his mouth opened a little, you couldn’t help but giggle.
“Aww, pobrecito,” you said between giggles before giving him a kiss on the cheek.
With that, Carlos shut his mouth and regained his stiff posture.
Guess this feeling really did flow both ways after all ❀

Tissues and Blood (Part 2)
(Dandy x GN!Reader)
Request: “heyy! so, i was thinking about a short fic where the reader is concerned about dandy’s sudden sneezing and allergic reaction through the past few days and the both find out it’s actually dandy’s dust allergies seeing as dora hasn’t been cleaning anything for our infamous man child just to spite him? I THOUGHT OF THIS RANDOMLY AND I THINK IT COULD BE RLLY CUTE? though poor dora when she gets caught though 💀”
This is part two. I had a lot of fun doing this part because I gave Dandy a less whiny appearance. You’ll see why soon!
Warnings: Fear, threats, kidnapping.
Images/GIFS are not mine.
Tumblr media
Dandy groans softly as he sits up in bed. He looks around, realizing that he didn’t get to say goodbye to you before you went to work. Groaning softly, he stands and stretches, sneezing again before sighing. “Damn
it’s always something.” He mumbles to himself as he walks to the bathroom, washing himself up. As he looks at himself in the mirror, he frowns. “There’s no way this is pollen. I’ve never had this reaction to it ever
” His frown deepens as he stares at the mirror before starting on his hair. He only had about 5 hours till the doctor came. There’s no harm in being ready a bit early.
Downstairs in the kitchen, Dora is finishing up her cooking to serve to Dandy, having hearing him pad around his room. As she hears him sneeze and groan, a sick smile makes its way to her face. A part of her felt bad since you seemed stressed about Dandy’s allergies. Dora had always liked you. Somewhere in her mind, she felt like confessing to everything and fixing her mistake. She was surprised when you didn’t scold her when you were leaving for work. Maybe you had forgotten. Maybe the scolding would happen later that day. Maybe your mind was occupied with something else.
Dandy makes his way to the dining room, huffing as he sits down. His nose was irritated once again from him sneezing. “Where’s the food?” He says loudly, frowning since everything wasn’t already there when he sat down. Dandy sees Dora rush in and set everything down, not wanting to hear him whine. “Thank you
” he says, side eying her a bit. He hums a bit as he eats, not paying any attention to her as she pretends to dust something. “It’s delicious. You’ve outdone yourself today.” He says before smirking a bit.
“Tell me Dora, why haven’t you been cleaning properly for the past
” he thinks for a second. “Two weeks? Yes about two weeks.” Dandy watches as Dora freezes for just a second before slowly turning around to face him. “I have done everything I’m paid to do, boy.” She says as she places her hands on her hips.
Dandy sniffs a bit and wipes his nose, looking up at her standing form before slamming his hand on the table. She knew he hated being called “boy” since everyone would belittle him that way. A sick smile, matching hers from earlier, twists on his face as he sees her flinch at the action. “You’re a goddamn liar.” He says before having to sneeze. Dandy frowns deeply as he looks back up at her. “You know how I know? You pride yourself in leaving this house spotless but when I was washing up in my bathroom, I saw the dust crust on top of my mirror.”
Dora’s eyes roll at him as she scoffs. “Boy please, just because I miss a spot doesn’t mean I’m slacking.” He laughs before suddenly standing, making his way over to her. Immediately a look of disgust paints her face as she sees him up close. “Wait until-“ suddenly he sneezes on her, both of them staring at each other in shock. “Well
wait until my darling comes home-“
He doesn’t finish his sentence because there was a knock on the door. Dandy sighs in frustration before quickly walking to the door, leaving Dora in a filthy state. “Yes doctor, please come in
” she hears Dandy say. Internally she screams profanities at Dandy before cleaning herself up. Her hands shake in anger and fear as she changes and starts to wash her now soiled uniform.
During the visit, Dr. Rocco informs Dandy that he does in fact have an allergy to dust. The doctor hums as he takes Dandy’s blood pressure. “If I were you, I would fire the maid. This house feels and looks stuffy.” He comments to Dandy as he writes down everything he needs to. “Talk to your partner about it before you do, of course.” Dr. Rocco says and smiles as he packs up his things.
Dandy smiles back and leads him back out the door. “Thank you, doctor. I’ll see you in two days? Same time?” He asks him and watches as Dr. Rocco nods. “Drive safe, sir.” Dandy says and watches his car leave and yours pull up.
As you walk in, Dandy immediately bombards you with information. It didn’t let you put down anything or think about anything else. “Dandy please! I just got home
” you mumble, him quickly shutting himself up. You slowly begin to put things away and settle down.
“She hasn’t been cleaning anything..even the doctor noticed. The allergy I have is from dust, he gave me this to take every night.” Dandy says and watches your reaction. He was surprised that you stayed calm. Too calm for him.
You stand up and reach your hand out to him. “I’m going to let you take care of this. I’m too tired, my love.” You say and watch as his face lights up with a smile. “I’m going to bed
” You mumble and let him kiss your lips gently before taking you upstairs.
Dandy quickly runs down the stairs and starts to search for Dora. “When I find her
” he mumbles and finally sees her in the garden, tending to some flowers. He quietly comes up behind her and covers her mouth. “Scream and I’ll break your neck. You know I can and will.” He whispers in her ear, feeling her body slightly give up on the slight struggle.
He sweats a bit as he ties her up, leaning back and smirking. “When tomorrow comes, I’ll end your suffering. I am your god and you have forgotten your place.” She cries as he gags her, looking up at him in fear. He wipes his nose on his sleeve and smiles evilly. “I’ll see you tomorrow
”
Thank you so much for reading!! Sorry for any mistakes! There will be a part three soon so please be on the look out!!

Mayhem | Bob Floyd
Summary: The flight crew goes to Ice's funeral.
Pairing: Robert "Bob" Floyd x Mitchell f!reader (callsign: Mayhem)
Content warnings: It's so sad.
Spotify playlist | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |
A/N: This one was so hard to write for personal reasons. I really cried.
Tumblr media
You had basically given up on sleep. Bob was sound asleep next to you, and you'd be lying if you said that you weren't even the least bit jealous. You tried to be as quiet as possible when you slid out of the bed and went to the bathroom. Just as you thought that you were done crying about Ice, that picture of him and Mav told you otherwise.
Bob initially woke up to roll over, but he grabbed his glasses and got up when he saw the light from under the bathroom door.
"You okay in there?" Bob asked as he lightly knocked on the door. You took a deep breath before wiping your eyes and getting up.
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine," you said as you opened the door. Both of you knew that you had just told him a bold-faced lie. It was pretty obvious.
"Couldn't sleep?"
"No. And the funeral is tomorrow. Well, actually it's more like it's in a few hours, but that's not important."
"Come here," Bob said. He opened his arms and it was like you fell into his embrace. He carried you to the bed and wrapped an arm around you. It was then that you were finally able to fall asleep.
Both of your alarms went off at the same time and you scrambled to find your dress blues. You didn't say anything as you went downstairs to make some coffee. Bob came downstairs a few minutes later and poured himself some coffee before you went to take a shower.
"You ready?" Bob asked. You glanced at the oven clock and saw that it was almost time to go. You sighed and put your head in your hands.
"I know I have to go... But I don't want to, y'know? Like I don't want to accept that this is really happening."
"I'll be right there with you. I promise."
It took a few more minutes for you to start to head out. You had planned to drive separately, but Bob saw how upset you got when you got in the driver's seat. You hadn't even started the engine and you were a mess. He immediately offered to drive you in your car, and it was an offer that you gladly accepted.
The first song that played when he started the car was Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue, and that really sent you over the edge. Bob held your hand as much as he could throughout the drive. You handed him his cap as both of you got out of the car. Phoenix gave you a quick hug before everyone was ordered to stand at attention.
You weren't going to break down in front of everyone again. It was hard for you to hold yourself together when Ice was honored with a missing man formation. When Maverick tacked his wings into the casket, you clenched your jaw and shifted your gaze to the ground.
Everyone started to leave once they were able to, and you finally took a deep breath and let everything go. Bob gave you a hug and you stayed like that for a few minutes before Maverick walked over.
"I'll be by the car," Bob whispered in your ear. You nodded and watched him walk off before turning to face your dad.
"So... You and Bob?" He asked.
"About that... I know you told me that I shouldn't sleep with my colleagues but that was kind of after-,"
"You don't need to finish that sentence. Please, don't finish that sentence."
The comment made you chuckle.
"I'm not mad at you. Bob seems like a good guy and as long as you can keep it out of work, you'll be fine," he said. You smiled and started to walk to the car when you heard Rooster calling your name.
"Would you and Bob want to meet us at The Hard Deck for some beers later? First round is on me."
"Let me think about it. Thanks."
"You're welcome."
You mentioned going to The Hard Deck to Bob, but both of you were pretty tired when you got back to your house. After you changed your clothes, you took a nap together.

Chapter 14
It was the next day and you were seated at your desk, looking over some documents for the company's newest actors. Hearing a knock on your office door, you looked up to see Johnny making his way into the room. Today he was wearing dark slacks and a buttoned down shirt, the top three buttons undone.
"Johnny, what brings you here?" You looked at your fiancé. "Are you coming to ask me about my night with Jaehyun? It was only one night and we both agreed that it was it."
"I know that, baby," Johnny said as he plopped down in one of the chairs. "But how was it? Was he a good fuck?"
He leaned forward. "Did he eat your pussy right after you had an orgasm or before? What position did you two do? How many times did he cum?" Johnny asked, now flirting with you.
He knew very well that he wasn't going to get an answer from you. Instead, he continued talking. "And you, honey? Did you let him cum inside of you or just on your face?" Johnny asked. He didn't wait for an answer but instead just kissed your lips passionately.
As Johnny pulled away from you, you realized that you hadn't actually thought about Jaehyun in any sexual way since the first time you both fucked. You remembered last night, but then Johnny interrupted your thoughts and all of the sudden your mind went blank.
With a laugh, Johnny grabbed your hand and pulled you out of the chair. "Baby, I'm going to show you why I'm the lucky guy who gets to spend forever with you," Johnny said.
You could feel your heart beating faster. You felt like every fiber of your being was ready to explode. Your body was alive and feeling warm and tingly everywhere, especially your clit which felt as if it were swelling up even more than usual.
You whole body quivered when Johnny slipped his finger into your soaking wet pussy. He teased you, moving it back and forth slowly and then sliding it inside of you slowly. The man knew exactly what to do and how to make you come and soon enough you began moaning loudly.
"Oh god, Johnny!" You screamed. He loved it when you called his name during sex. There was something special about hearing those words escape your lips while you were screaming and crying out in pleasure.
"That's it, baby. Come for me," Johnny said, continuing to slide his finger in and out of your pussy. You came hard around his fingers , bucking against him.
You quickly sat up and faced him, pulling him into a passionate kiss. When your lips parted, you gave him a wink. Johnny smiled and kissed you once again.
"Thank you for taking care of me," you said.
"You're welcome, baby," Johnny replied, caressing your cheek softly. "Anything for you."
You couldn't help but smile.
"I want to do more stuff...but since we're in the office..." you paused, remembering where they were.
Johnny laughed. "No worries, baby. We can go somewhere later tonight if you really want to."
You nodded your head and then turned towards your computer screen. After a few minutes, Johnny stood up.
"Baby, I'm going to run downstairs and grab us lunch. I'll be right back." You watched him leave the room, his ass flexing as he walked. You shook your head slightly and continued typing away at your keyboard. You weren't thinking about anything other than work and you hoped that your secretary didn't hear anything earlier.
Jisung would have been mortified. You definitely needed to give him a cash bonus. That boy deserved so much more than you were paying him!
Johnny returned to the office with two sandwiches and a cup of coffee for himself and you. As soon as he entered the room, you looked up from your computer.
"Here you go, sweetheart," Johnny said, handing you one sandwich.
You bit into the sandwich as you started to eat your meal.
"What are you doing today, baby?" You asked, stuffing another bite into your mouth.
Johnny chuckled as he took a sip of his coffee. "Taking care of business," he answered.
Your eyes widened. "Business? You mean, getting all of the footage of this weekend's shoots so that we can edit everything together?"
Johnny nodded his head. "Yes. Jaehyun is meeting us there and he wants to meet with you."
You looked surprised. "Me? Why does he need to meet with me?"
Johnny shrugged his shoulders. "Just to talk about the scenes and stuff. Then afterwards, we're going to get lunch. Shouldn't take too long."
"Okay," You said as you finished off the rest of the sandwich.
"Well, let's get going then," Johnny said, holding up the extra bag of food.
You rose out of your seat and hugged him tightly. You then placed your head on his chest.
"Johnny, thank you for helping me through this morning," you whispered.
"Don't worry about it, baby," Johnny said as he stroked your hair. "If you need anything else, just let me know."
"Will do," You replied as you kissed his chest. With that, you gathered your purse and keys and followed Johnny out of the building.
"Hey guys, we're all set," Johnny said as he approached the group of men standing outside the building. He saw Jaehyun standing there with a big grin on his face. The director of the film gave them a nod and they all walked into the studio.
Once inside, Jaehyun went over to a laptop sitting on a table. "The scenes are already filmed and edited. Everything looks great," Jaehyun said, showing everyone the video clips.
You stood back and observed. From what you could tell, the video clips were really nice quality. They were crisp and clear and you could see each facial expression clearly. Jaehyun glanced at you several times and when he caught you staring at him, he quickly looked away.
When the videos were finished playing, Johnny stepped up and spoke to the director.
"We've got most of the script done and we should be able to finish shooting the rest tomorrow afternoon. Is that alright?" Johnny asked.
The director of the film nodded. "That sounds perfect. We're happy with the progress that you guys are making and we're looking forward to having you shoot the rest of the movie this week."
Johnny shook hands with the director and thanked him for his help. Then he turned to you and the others.
"Let's get out of here, shall we?" Johnny said, walking out of the room. You hurriedly made your way behind him.
You both left the studio and headed to the car. Once inside, Johnny helped you fasten the seatbelt and then he drove home. You weren't going far and within twenty minutes, he pulled up to his apartment complex. You looked at Johnny curiously.
"I thought you wanted to get food?" You asked, confused, getting out of the car.
"Yeah, but first we need to take care of some things," Johnny explained.
Before you could protest, Johnny wrapped his arms around you and kissed you gently. His tongue brushed across yours as he slowly pressed his cock against your leg.
You couldn't hold back the moan that escaped your lips. You knew that he wasn't planning on fucking you yet, but still your pussy throbbed uncontrollably and was becoming damp from the sensations that you were experiencing.
After the kiss ended, Johnny looked deep into your eyes.
"Come on, baby," he said, motioning to the front door of his apartment. "Time to go home."

The Devil's Right Hand Woman
MJF x Original Fem character
Suzie is a undervalued wrestler in AEW but she knows she can be more, in steps MJF who says he can help her, but is he only in it for himself?
Part 1
I walked down the hallway of the Prudential Center on my way back to the women's locker room, pausing to spit put the left over blood pack from my mouth into the bin.
If my mother could see me now she would have been horrified at her only daughter covered in fake blood wearing a bright pink cheerleader wrestling outfit. But as my mother didn't approve of my choice of career I didn't have to worry about her opinion of my appearance.
I entered the locker room where the rest of the other ladies were just packing up, ready to go home. There was still one more match of the night but as that was between the men, us women weren't needed so we could warm down and pack up. I groaned as I sat down, I was feeling pretty beaten up after my match with Britt Baker, a wrestler that I admired and modeled my career on, so when I heard that Tony Kahn had arranged for us to have a match, I was estatic. But, as usual it was pre-planned for me to loose as I had just graduated from a jobber, I still couldn't be seen to beat the great Britt Baker, who had just walked through the door.
"Thanks for a great match Kiddo, you really put me through my paces." Said Britt loosening her boots and stepping out of them. All the other wrestlers called me Kiddo , they couldn't be bothered to learn my name and they thought this was a term of endearment, it wasn't.
"Oh thank you for letting me try out those new spots, I think the crowd loved them" I replied.
"They certainly thought it was something" came Toni Storm's voice from the shower.
Britt rolled her eyes "ignore her, I think you're really coming along."
I sighed "I just wish Tony would let me win for once"
"Well, perhaps you should tell him toots" a male voice answered. My head snapped to the door, some whst painfully after my fight to see MJF, the AEW World Champion in all his glory with belt and wrestling gear on.
"Get out of here Max, this is the woman's locker room and last time I checked you weren't a woman" bit back Britt.
Max held up his hands and smirked at the Doctor. "Sheesh, I'm going anyway, I've got better things to do then hang out with you loosers." And with that he was gone as quickly as he appeared.
"I still can't believe they made him champion" said Toni as she came out of the shower, wrapping a towel around her.
"Don't worry, Adam will take the title from him in London. Then we'll have a real champ" smiled Britt as she got up to go into the shower room, she turned back to me "I meant what I said Kiddo, you'll get your shot soon. Are you coming to the after party? Kenny is hosting at his hotel."
I hadn't planned on going, in fact, I wasn't even aware that I was invited but after the night I had, I needed to have a few drinks to let off some steam. "Yeah sure, why not" I replied.
I showered and changed back into the clothes I arrived in which was just a pair of jeans and a black tight t-shirt. I hoped that this wasn't a dressed up party as I hadn't brought anything like that with me.
Kenny Omega and the other men stayed in a different hotel to most of the women, only the couple like Britt and Adam Cole stayed in the same hotel for obvious reasons. Tonight it seemed that Kenny had booked out the downstairs bar that lead to the outside pool area. It was a warm New York night and I was grateful for the glass of sparkling wine that was given to me once I showed the security guard my AEW pass with my ID.
Everyone was here, even the House of Black and Julia Hart who despite their appearances when they were in character were actually the nicest people in AEW. Juila was the only one who actually called me by name. She spotted me and waved me over.
"Hey Suzie, I didn't know you were coming tonight"
"Yes, well I needed to blow off some steam and im not booked for a while so I can have lots of drinks before I get back to training"
"That's my girl" cheered Julia as she passed me a tequila shot. I quickly downed my wine, licked the salt from the back of my hand, shot the tequila and finally bit into the lemon, shivering from the alcohol and bitterness of the lemon.
My night went by in a flash after that in a whirlwind of alcohol and laughter. I even got to speak with Kenny and the Young Bucks who were a great laugh but the night was winding down now as the sun was threatening to come up and I was trying to work out in my drunk mind how to get back to the hotel whilst I was laying on the sun lounger.
"Getting a head start on your tan toots?" I looked up to see MJF once again.
"Maxwell Jacob Friedman, what do I owe the pleasure" I slurred
"I think I understood that, I just thought I saw a damsel in distress thst might need saving"
"Like you care"
Max sat down next to me "despite what you may think of me, I'm not a bad person Kiddo"
"Suzie" I corrected him.
"What?"
"My name is Suzie, Susan actually but I prefer Susie"
Max held out his hand "you can call me Max"
I took his outstretched hand and instead of him shaking it he brought it to his lips and kissed the back of it. " Now I heard on the grapevine that you were a little pissed off with the matches Khan had been booking you in"
"He treats me like a jobber but I know I can be more. I am more"
"Hmmm seems to me that you need an image change. Plus a new training reigme. I can help with both"
I was shocked "really? Why?"
"I won't tell you my reasons now, you won't remember them. I just want you to trust me. Can you Suzie? Trust me?"
"Fine " I said, without thinking.

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies Cynthia x OC Part 9
Chapter 9: Girl Gang
Word count:7.1k
After spending time at Jane’s drafting up a game plan for her student council campaign, I went home and straight to sleep, trying to avoid my parents questions as to why I got home later than expected.
The next morning I woke up to my mom screaming from the bottom of the stairs, “Ella! Phone!” Phone? For me? At, I looked at the clock next to my bed..  5 am? On a Monday morning? I picked up the phone from my bedside table. “Hello?” I asked. It was Cynthia, “hey, mcgee’s been calling all of us this morning-“ “Hold on Cynthia wait” I heard a soft clicking sound meaning my mom was still on the line downstairs, “mom! Get off the phone!” The clicks stopped and I let Cynthia continue, “She’s trying rat us out for yesterday, just giving you a heads up, just try to intercept any calls.” I responded “of course, thanks, hey do you think you could just stay on the line with me?” “Sure” And so we talked for an hour, about anything we could think of. Occasionally we would run out of things so say and we would just sit in silence, comfortable silence, just to keep the line busy. Eventually my mom came in my room to tell me to get off the phone and get ready for school. I really wanted to fight it but I didn’t. Instead I just said, “Hey, Cynthia, I gotta go, I’ll talk to you at school” and hung up.
“You know it’s strange, I haven’t heard you talk to or about Cynthia in years and now, you’re spending hours on t he phone with her and I haven’t seen Dot in a week. Did something happen? Do you want to talk about it?” My mom asked. But before I could answer, the phone rang. I reached for it but my mom got to it faster. I after a moment she looked at me and yelled “She did what?!”
“You ran out of school and aided in stealing a car?! Where did I go wrong?” My mom lectured as a sat on the living room couch with my parents standing over me. Then my dad chimed in, “Believe me, there will be consequences
 you’ll
 you won’t
I don’t know, you’ve never done anything wrong before.” “Ella,” my mom continued, “ you’ve always been such a good girl, good grades, good friends-“ “Was it Cynthia? You know I always thought there was something off with her-“ I cut my father off, “there is nothing wrong with Cynthia! Everything that happened I made the decision too be a part of” “I just don’t know what happened Ella
” My dad stared at me with a look that made me so ashamed of what I had done, then I remembered how I felt with the girls yesterday, like nothing could touch me. I haven’t felt like people actually cared about me in the longest time. I felt a surge of confidence and said, “are you gonna punish me or not because I need to get to school.” Both my parents just looked at me with a shocked expression, I had never said anything even remotely disrespectful before. “Well, we weren’t going to, but if you’re going to talk back, you’re grounded for two weeks, only to school and back. And we’re taking the phone out of your room.” After my dad finished I simply stood up, grabbed my bag and walked out the door, off to school.
On my way to school I saw a man sitting on a bench finishing reading a newspaper. A newspaper that had the girls on the front page. He closed the paper and started walking down the street. I had no money on me to get my own copy but I needed that paper. I don’t know what came over me, I would normally never approach a stranger, but I caught up to him and said, “Excuse me sir, are you done with that newspaper? Could I have it by any chance?” He looked at me questioningly, “I’m an aspiring journalist and I just love to-“ he cut me off by handing me the paper, rolling his eyes, and walking away. I happily turned around and continued my path to school.
Once there I found all of the girls talking outside. “Look at who made the front page of today’s paper.” I said, everyone already crowding around me to try and look. "Vicious vixens perform vulgar acts before violently vacating the premises.” Jane read.
“Who wrote this? Mother Goose?” Cynthia joked. "Even more shocking were the ideas Ms. Facciano espoused in her manifesto-like speech.” Olivia continued. "To paraphrase Richard Nixon, speaking of his 1950 Senate opponent Helen Gahagan Douglas, she's pink right down to her underwear. They're calling us communists. This will sink my entire campaign.” Jane finished. “Maybe not. I mean, you made some really good points during your speech. They wouldn’t be trying to ruin you if they didn’t think you might win.” I chimed in. “It’s great press and it’s going to work perfectly with our new jackets” Nancy said pulling her new design from her bag. It was a black jacket with the words “black widows” and a spider on the back. The design and craftsmanship were stunning but the concept was, well, not it. “So, what do you think?” She asked. “Its.. violent..” Jane replied, trying to turn Nancy down gently. “Thanks! We’re the black widows. Nobody messes with us because if they do, we eat them for breakfast.” Oh. And the jacket comes with retractable fake blood coming out of the spider’s mouth. Fun. “I like it!” Cynthia said with the biggest grin on her face. Not helping. “Probably not the best way to convince people we aren’t vicious vixens.” Jane said. “Sure thing boss,” Nancy started, “Black Widows dead on arrival. New name pending.”
We all started to walk into the school when Cynthia stopped, “Hey thespians! Jealous we put on the most interesting show Rydell’s ever seen?” Then she stole one of their hats and threw it to a group of boys who kept throwing it around. “I’m so sorry about her” I yelled to them as she dragged me away. Once inside the school, we were immediately met with an angry Gil Rizzo, “All right. Which one of yo use is gonna pay for a new paint job for my car?”
Cynthia chimed in with “I could buy the hunk of junk for cheaper. Think of it this way, Gil: at least you finally got some girls in it!” She was met with a giggle from all the girls.
Gil muttered a “whatever.” “See the paper, boys?” Cynthia continued, "When's the last time any of you chowderheads made the front page?” “Congratulations.” Shy guy said, smiling at us. He’s sweet. Potato just had to throw in his tow cents, "Whoa, watch out, fellas. It's a girl gang. They might beat us up with their pocketbooks!” Cynthia started hitting him with the paper and chased him down the hallway, all of us following in a fit of laughter.
“Ladies. My office. Now” Miss Mcgee. Shoot. We all started filing into her office until she stopped me, “Not you miss Bartlett. You didn’t do anything.” But, I did.

Nothing Lasts forever nothing stays the same pt:4
Tumblr media
A/N: hey hey hey, sorry for my terrible absence, so this is from the continued series in the Calum master list, this is probably like super old stuff but I figured I would continue it for those who have been waiting for ever. again so sorry I never came back up here. so here we go! thank you love you all!
2014
Today was the release of your 3 eps and you were all pretty chaotic at the house today.
At the moment you were calling your mum, “you sure you aren't spreading yourself too thin? Are you guys eating and drinking water?'' She asked, going momma bear on you two, “yes mum we are fine, the stress comes with the job,'' Luke said as she hummed, “yes I know darling, but you don't need to work all the time. I trust you two to take care of one another,” she said as you glanced at luke and nodded, “yeah mum don’t worry, we will,” you said as she sighed, “alright well i love you both, please be safe and lord don't get any tattoos,” she said as you looked at one another with a smirk, “yes mum we won't, don't worry benny is here all the time,” luke said as you giggled and ended the call heading downstairs.
“So, you didn't get any tattoos yet?” he asked as you purse your lips, “uh no, haven't gotten one yet, why?” you asked as he shrugged, “would you want to get one with me? Like
a twin thing?” he asked you glanced at his eyes, “are you for real?” you asked as he nodded softly, “yeah, do you have any idea what we could get?” he asked as you shook your head, “i'm not sure, lu are you serious? When would we get this done?” you asked as he sighed, “not sure our 18th birthday maybe? And also it could be a part of your graduation gift?” he said as you rolled your eyes at him.
He was using this as a way to get a tattoo, your graduation, you ended finishing school overseas and well you finished thankfully, luke on the other hand decided to just drop out of it because he was not being able to do work any of the work, and when you finished he was really proud of you for finishing school and he thought why not get a tattoo.
“Lu, you can still finish school, you know that? And you don't have to do anything for me,” you said as he shook his head, “nonsense, we are getting a tattoo bean, we have a couple months, so whatever you think looks nice, we’ll get it done,” he said walking away leaving you as you shook your head with a smile.
After the release of your ep’s you were now filming your very first ever music video that included other people than just you guys..like an actual crew. You were all so happy that your ep’s were a hit, especially, she looks so perfect. Ash and Micheal had worked on this song together fast one day and we all immediately chose it for one of our main ep’s.
You were getting dressed in your dressing room as lu walked in asking for fashion advice, “y/n! Should i wear this top or this one?” he asked as you looked between both of them and chose the black one, “it's more punk i guess, i don't know, now help me,” you said as you pulled out two tank tops of your own, he looked at both of them and shook his head, “No? No what lu?” you asked as he looked for a t-shirt as you frowned, “what lu i don't want to wear a t-shirt, help me pick out between these two,” you said as he glared at you, “y/n as your brother i don't want to choose a shirt that will make guys want you, but since you asked the black one is nice,” he said as your lips formed a line and you shook your head, “in that case i will wear the red one, i don't want to match with you in a music video, we have enough christmas photos as is,” you said as he rolled his eyes leaving to go get his makeup done as you finished getting dressed.
Once you were all ready you all got into places and started to film. You felt so much excitement, the energy in the room was exactly how you wanted it, your lives were going to change after this. You were finally living your dreams.
“CUT
okay y/n you and Luke have a bit too much eye contact and chemistry, try looking at uhh calum more,” the director said as you nodded, “okay let's roll these two scenes one more time
and ACTION!” he said as you moved over to calum who was singing and looking with a smirk making your chemistry public in the music video and well of course to all your fans.
Weeks later as you were scrolling through twitter you had seen 5sos trending in the hashtags. You quickly sat up in excitement wondering why you were trending in the first place. You were quick to click on it and it had clips of you and Calum in the SLSP music video. You sighed then clicked on the tweets, you then looked at the comments.
@mikeycult2011: Is it just me or are y/n and Calum announcing their relationship in this video?
@calumy/nclub: so i think it's settled, y/n and calum are dating and not holding back.
@hemmotwinsdaily: y/n and calum are def dating, have you seen the behind the scenes?
That comment caught your eye, you clicked on the video with a small clip inserted

You two were standing next to one another as you danced to the beat, then it moved on to a clip where you were being asked questions, “so y/n is this song about you?” the camera man asked as you giggled, “why?” you said as calum spoke, “its because shes so perfect, that is why we wrote this song..” he said as you giggle, “well who wrote the song?” he asked as cal grinned, “well i didn't, but i sung it..” he said and you looked at the camera man, “he's just jealous that i'm so perfect and he isn't,” you said looking at calum with a smile as he playfull rolled his eyes, “y/n..” he says softly making you smile, and then it cut to the others.
Okay maybe it was a little flirty between you two, but i mean how were they assuming that from one clip. You knew luke would be all over it because as soon as you were getting out of bed luke walked in slamming your door, as you looked at him with wide eyes, “Lu! At Least knock! You can't come in here like that!” you said as he shook his head, “NO there is a reason, you and calum are blowing up on twitter and instagram- uh pretty much everywhere, PEOPLE ARE EVEN SHIPPING YOU!” he yelled as you rolled your eyes, “Lu i was just following directions from the director, it's not a big deal,” you said as he walked back and forth, “what? Of course it's a big deal, we can't have people thinking your dating,” he said as you rolled your eyes, “luke robert hemmings, your being dramatic,” you said as he nodded, “okay fine i'm being dramatic, then why are we meeting with our media team later?” he said as you went pale, “what?” you said as he raised his eyebrows with a glare and walked out.
It was mostly true, there had been a meeting at the label to talk about our album but then Luke went on so they would talk about how we all wanted to continue with this, of course it was routine for us to do this when we release stuff.
As you walked in, Calum was looking for you, but you just looked away because of Luke and when he grew distracted, you sat next to cal. He then whispered, “why is he freaking out?” he asked as your lips formed a line, “uh, its about uh- wait have you seen twitter?” you asked as he shook his head, “no why?” he said as you purse your lips and took out your phone and showed him as he scrolled for a good few minutes as his jaw dropped and looked at you, “yeah that's why he's freaking out and apparently that's what this meeting is about,” you said as he nodded, “oh, but what exactly?” he asked as you shrugged and that's when the team walked in and you were all paying attention to what they had to say.
They pretty much told us all that this happened with every band and or artists, a scandal of some sorts, especially if there was a girl in the band. But you and cal behind the doors were together, you were dating. So how was this going to be resolved without hurting you two and the band.
“Okay, y/n your brother has told us that he wants these rumors to go away, but this is about you, and we suggest that we keep doing what we are doing, which is not say anything about it because this way in their eyes we are not confirming nor denying anything. You two clearly are good friends, and we can keep it that way from now on in the production, it's just how you two continue to act and if it's like this, we are more than happy to keep it that way, it's good publicity with the album coming out,” she said very eager as you looked over at luke who was a nervous wreck of course, but it was your life, “i think we should keep going like this, me and calum are just friends and if people can't handle a conversation between me and cal then they just have to get used to it. And also I think the fans are freaking out a bit just because this was our first music video and behind the scenes,” you said very blatantly as she agreed with you but seemed a tad bit upset but you knew if you agreed to what she said, it would have been worse.
As you and cal were in your booth together for the meet and greet, you two talked before fans were coming in, “i'm tired,” you spoke as cal looked over at you worried, “do you need a break? You can take a nap if you want,” he said as he looked over at Benny as you shook your head, “no i'm not that kind of tired, i'm tired of hiding us. I want to be with you, I just- i want to be with you, I'm tired of lying..” You said as a small sob escaped your mouth as his eyebrows knitted together softly as he held you despite eyes on you two, “I know love, I'm tired too, I know it's not easy, but we will make it, we just gotta let this pass, and well hopefully luke will be okay with this” he said as you nodded, “i hope so, i'm tired of this,” you said as you looked over at him while cal bit his lip, more than anything he wanted to hold you and kiss you but he knew he couldn't do that, especially here..
“Hi! How's it going?” you asked the girl that came through first, as cal was signing some stuff and having his own conversations, “its going good, how are you doing?” she said as you nodded, “it's going well, you gonna go to our acoustic show later? It's gonna be fun!” you said as she nodded, “oh yeah i am, you guys are amazing, when will you be doing stadium tours?” she asked as you looked at cal who shrugged, “i'm not sure when, but when we do you'll be the first to know,” he said with a smile as she nodded saying goodbye as the next person came through and after a while when fans were going over to your brother you and cal looked at one another with wide eyes, “stadium tours?! Like our own, not with one direction? Don't get me wrong they are awesome to open for but could you imagine doing our own?” you said as you laughed as he nodded, “i mean yeah we already have a bunch of ep’s out w-we have a whole selection! And with our album out we could,” he said as you nodded, '' I know! Oh my gosh!” you said as you two freaked out for a whole 5 minutes before talking to fans again.
As you walked down the stairs you had seen the house was quite empty, you looked around seeing no one was there, as you walked into the kitchen you made yourself a cup of tea. As you were waiting cal had crept up behind you giving you a big hug as you freaked out, “cal! Put me down!” you whisper yelled as you slapped his arms, “Cal! I'm serious! What if they catch us?!” you said as he kissed you placing you on the counter top as he grabbed the side of your head and you grabbed his neck. When he pulled away, you got down and slapped him, “Cal! Give me a warning next time,” you said as he smirked as you just stared at him, “cal what am i missing here?” you said as he sighed and kissed you again, “well love, you're brother and our best friends are going to london, which i think leaves us to
do, well anything you like..” he said as you frowned and you had totally forgot that this weekend your brother was going to london and you jumped hugging him and giving him a few more kisses.
As you two laid in bed he smiled admiring you, “what is it?” you asked as he shook his head, “no nothing, just looking at my girlfriend
which reminds me, we have a date tonight,” he said as you looked at him, “We do? What since when?” you asked as he chuckled, “starting right now, don’t worry it's later, which is why i will leave you to get ready, i'll be here to pick you up at 7,” he said as you giggled, “Cal you live one door away,” you said as he kissed you before leaving, “i'll be here at 7,” he said reminding you as you smiled. As soon as he shut the door you were quick to shower so you could plan your outfit and have enough time to do your hair and make up.
Your mom then called you up as you were getting dressed, “hey mum!” you said putting your shoes on, “hey darling- oh are you busy? I can call you back?” she said as you shook your head, “what no mum, i'm not, just getting ready is all,” you said as she nodded, “oh really for what may i ask?” she said with a smirk as you smiled, “a date with cal mum- i know what you're gonna say its too risky with eyes all over me, but i've never actually really gone on a date, so i just wanna experience this once, please?” you said as she smiled as you looked over at her with a frown, “mum what?” you said as she sighed, “i'm really happy you two are finally going on a date, i was gonna ask you if you and cal were up to anything because this would be a good chance to go out together without your brother knowing,” she said as you sighed, “oh mum- you should have just said,'' you giggled as she smiled, “oh darling, you know i'm here for the both of you, joy will be so happy to hear this, please send us pictures,” she said as you giggled.
As you said goodbye to your mum, on cue, cal knocked on your door and you opened it with a smile, you gasped as you saw him with flowers in his hand, “oh cal, you didn't have to get me anything,” you said as he brought you into a hug, “of course i did, love i have been waiting to do this, even if we had to do it like this,” he said as you giggled, “oh cal, i am the luckiest girl in the world,” you said as he brought your lips into his, “and i'm the luckiest guy in the world
now lets go, we have a pretty huge night might i add,” he said as you nodded as you left the house hand in hand getting into the car.
When you arrived you saw that you were downtown and he had been leading you towards an abandoned building, you looked towards it then spoke, “bubs, where are we going?” you asked as he smiled, “it's a secret love, the whole point is that you don't know, i know how you love surprises,” he said as you two walked in and you glared at him playfully, “you better not be planning to kill me,” you said walking up the stairs as he quickly turned at you as he laughed, “love, i'm not going to kill you,” he said as you giggled and arrived to the top of the building..It was a rooftop dinner, Calum had managed to set it all up while you were getting ready and he couldn't be more proud.
You walked up to the top, and you were fascinated with the view, you turned over to him as he admired you. He loves how your smile curved onto your cheeks and your dimples followed, “what?” you whispered as he looked down hiding his cheeks that were currently blushing, “nothing, just
im so in love with you,” he said in a whisper as he brought you close as you looked up at his brown eyes that told you everything you needed to hear, you knew what he meant was forever, you two never said i love you yet, so you knew that this was forever.
“I love you,” you said as he looked at you in awe of what you said, he knew he loved you since he met you, “you..do?” he said as you nodded, “i do, i love you more than words can describe, you make me feel safe. You are my person cal,” you said as he fell in love with you even more than he could ever describe, “i've loved you since the day we met, can't really describe it, but i knew that you would be in my life more than you already were
i can't believe this is our first date, and we have been together for 2 years already,” he said as you smiled, “i know i'm sorry, i promise you soon we will have many more dates to come,” you said as he kissed you and you grabbed onto his neck bringing you in closer.
As you ate dinner the night flew by so fast as you were in the park together walking hand in hand. It was a private park, so no one would be there to spy on you guys. You walked into this flower area, you were amazed by the flowers and how many there were. As Cal pulled you in closer to his chest, you looked up and kissed him. He put his hand in his pocket to get something out. It was a small box, you gasped as you looked at him, “what-” you said as he cut off, “i'm not proposing
yet, but this is just a promise to you, that i'll be here for you forever, no matter what you are first for me now and forever because i love you so much, i would move the sun and moon for you if i could, you're home to me..okay maybe i am proposing..” he said as you smiled with a giggle, he opened the box that revelaved the small ring and placed it on your finger. It was a simple ring, no attention would be brought to it, but you saw that inside it had engravings of the year you started dating, as well as a C in it.
As morning came you woke up to cal sleeping on your chest as you giggled, you laid there a while rubbing his head as you felt his every breath and heartbeat that came through. You smiled seeing how peaceful he was sleeping in your arms. You then heard a loud thump as you jumped quickly heading to the door as you heard through it and the other 3 have finally arrived, you were quick to wake up cal, “babe, cal, wake up. Things 1, 2, and 3 are here,” you said as he moved around and looked at you, “what?” he said as you began to worry, “hemmo, clifford, and fletcher are here!” you yelled slightly as his eyes went wide and was quick to get out of bed he put his clothes on before heading out as he looked like hell coming out of your room.
On his way out he bumped into your brother, “woah, cal you look like hell, what did you do this weekend?” he asked as cal hesitated, “nothing just slept, wrote music, the usual,” he said as luke nodded, “and y/n? What did she do?” he asked as he shrugged, “not sure, but i think her friend came over to hang last night and slept over, but she left a while ago,” he said as he nodded and headed over to your room.
On the other side of that, you were hiding everything that had Calum's name on it. So of course his hoodie, his sweats, the rings, anything that was given to you. Just then you heard a door knock as you ran over to the door and then turned to your room seeing everything was fine, you opened the door and you were faced with luke, “hey!” you said as you opened the door letting him in as he jumped on your bed and laid down, “hey, how was your weekend?” he asked as you gulped and looked at him, “good, one of my friends came over to hang last night and slept over, but she left over an hour ago,” you said as he nodded, “oh thats what calum ment?” he said as you nodded, “yeah, wait was he here?” you said as he nodded, “yeah- wait did you think he went with us?” he said as you nodded, “uh yes? I'm sorry you said that you were going with the guys, so I assumed everyone was going,” you said as you two laughed for a good minute as he caught you up with the news in london.
After the good weekend you were all back in the studio, your manager and well the rest of your team was there to deliver quite the news to you guys. You were going to have somewhat of your own tour, star stripe and maple syrup tour, and one direction had requested your presence in their stadium tour which left you all pretty speechless. You looked over at Calum with wide eyes as you two both said under your breaths, “stadium tour!” as your team was going over everything you were so excited than ever. You were gonna have your tour first before heading to the 1D tour, as well as your album being released before 1D as well. Things were all set for you.
Your tour had creeped up behind you quickly, you were on the road within hours. Right now you were heading over to your show in your tour bus as everyone was scattered doing their own thing.
Luke was next to you as he was on his phone doing god knows what, but you saw him smile a lot, “what are you doing on your phone lu?” you said as he hid his smile and looked at you, “what nothing bean? Just watching some videos,” he said as his smile crept as you squinted, “hemmo what are you doing?” you said getting close to his phone as the name Arzaylea popped up as you looked over at him, “who is Arzaylea? How ever you say that name,” you said as he rolled his eyes, “her name is Arzaylea, and she's is this girl im talking to, no big deal,” he said as your eyes went wide, “no big deal? Seems like it if you're smiling lukey poo,” you said teasing him as he groaned, “y/n stop that! She's just a girl I like, okay?” he said as you giggled, “that's good lu, you're meeting people, that's what it's all about lu,” you said as he smiled, “you think? She's really nice. I think you'll like her if she and I keep it going,” he said as you nodded, “yeah i think she seems nice. If you like her you know I'll be okay,” you said as you smiled knowing your brother was happy.
Once you arrived at your location you were all up and ready to rehearse your setlist for tonight then hang out for the rest of the day since the show was tomorrow. As your team was setting everything up you headed to your dressing room placing everything that you needed out. Just then luke walked in as you looked up, “hey bean, this guy shawn mendes, wants to know if we can hang, i said yes, unless you're not up for it,” he said as you nodded, the name was familiar, “yeah for sure, after rehearsal?” you asked as he nodded leaving you back to what you were doing.
As you were rehearsing you were in the front taking lead, halfway through the end you let Luke take lead as you were playing guitar. You had been practicing for a long time and you were now comfortable playing in front of the fans, they even loved it when you started posting, they couldn't wait to hear you, so far they were amazed by you and the band.
As you took a small break, due to luke needing to pee again, you all dispersed besides you and calum who stayed on stage, “so you excited?” he asked as you nodded, “yeah of course, i mean i'm playing a tour with my best friends and my boyfriend, how good does this get?” you smiled as he smiled, “i would say you're living the dream love,” he said as you smiled. Once everyone was back you all got back to rehearsing before hanging out with a friend of lukes, “oh by the way luke said we are hanging out with shawn mendes? Do you know him?” you asked as he nodded, “yeah he's got some good songs, check him out, but no yeah he's a cool dude,” he said as you nodded back to work. After rehearsing you are almost always allowed to go out for the night before the big show, so now you were out and about meeting Shawn mendes. As you all arrived to this party, you had no idea of, you wondered why you were meeting him at a party, but that's 5sos for ya at the moment.
As you walked in you went through this crowd and at the very end of it was shawn, luke had introduced you all to him as you all waved. As you were all hanging out he sat next to you as you smiled at him, “so you and luke are related?” he asked as you nodded, “yeah he's my twin brother,” you said as he nodded, “so what's it like being famous, is it as good as they say?” he asked as you shrugged, “well yeah i guess it is sometimes, but i never thought of us that way you know? I feel like we're still that band that does gigs every weekend, but now it's turned into more of an everyday thing which is cool,” you said very humbling as he nodded, “that's the dream huh? How old were you when you started,” he said as your conversation took off.
As the four guys looked at you two from afar luke was smirking and looked at the rest of the guys, “what if shawn and y/n date? Would that be the worst thing in the world?” he said as cal looked over at you as his jaw clenched, “i guess not, but should you really be getting in her business?” clifford asked as luke shrugged, “i don't know she was really supportive with me and this girl im talking to and well i wanna be supportive,” he said half drunk as ash looked over at cal who was ignoring all of this, “i don't know maybe they're just talking, they could just be friends?” Ash said as Luke smirked, “oh yeah you're just saying that cus you still like her,” he said as cal had enough and walked away.
From where you were sitting you noticed how angerly he was, you excused yourself heading to the rest of the gang, “hey where’s cal?” you asked as luke shrugged, “oh i think he went out- omg are you and shawn like..talking?” he said as he wiggled his eyebrows, “oh my gosh luke how drunk are you?” you said as ash spoke, “cal went over there,” he said as you nodded, “okay i'm gonna check on him, mike, watch luke please?” you said as you walked over to the door that lead to a balcony. You saw his shadow as you smelled and saw puffs floating around as you stood next to him, “since when do you..smoke?” you asked as he looked over with a frown, “i only do it when i'm stressed,” he said as you nodded, “oh okay..” you said as you looked around as he turned it off and held your hand, “im sorry, i just- with tour i don't know how to control my stress,” he said as you nodded, “it's fine cal, just please be careful with how much you smoke, people get addicted really easily,” you said as he nodded, “i promise,” he said as you nodded and got straight to it, “so why did you walk out so mad?” you asked as he rolled his eyes, “i know your brother is drunk and everything, but he has you already set with a guy? And ash still likes you, i c-cant win can i?” he said as you frowned shaking your head, “cal, hes my brother he says stupid stuff all the time, it doesn't mean he’s always right, and besides, shawn has a crush he was asking me to help him, he’s young as well and needs to be lead, we were him a few years ago. And ashton, he is my friend, nothing else, you already won a long time ago..” you said as he gave you half smile, “you always know what to say in the moment, i swear you have to be rehersing this,” he said as you giggled, “oh cal, i just say what i feel, and that's what i feel okay?” you said reassuring him as you two headed back to the party and had fun the rest of the night knowing that no one would remember it the next day.

.
Near the end of the tour, you were of course doing press or interviews and today, you were doing quite a fun one. You were asking each other some questions that the fans asked on twitter.
You went first asking your brother questions fans were curious about, “okay lukey poo, who in the band is your favorite?” you said reading it as you looked at him and he hesitated a bit, “uhh, for promo reasons i would say calum, but for non promo reasons i would say you,” he said as you giggled, “What- promo reasons? It would make sense for it to be me..” you said as you two laughed.
Next up was michael as you two couldn't even be serious not even for the shot, “i'm sorry michael is just too much
anyway clifford, what is your favorite condiment?” you asked as he shrugged, “what is a condiment?” he asked as you giggled, “its like what you put on food, like ketchup, ranch, mustard..?” you said as you looked over at the interviewer as she nodded, “yeah that's about right,” she said as you looked over at michael who twisted his mouth, “i don't know, i'm not a huge fan of any of those, but i'll say ranch,” he said as you giggled looking over at the camera.
As Ash came up you smiled as he smiled back, “Ok Ashton irwin, who is the best dancer in the band?” you asked as he really thought about it, “i would have to say you y/n,” he said as you nodded and put your hands up in the air, “nice!” you said as he smiled nodding back.
And finally your boyfriend who was far more nervous than you making you laugh, “okay calum, cool guy cal! What is your favorite song to perform?” you said as your eyebrows rose looking up at him, “Can we say unreleased songs?” he said as you shrugged looking over at the guys who nodded, “oh we can, okay this song isn't out yet, but i have to say disconnected,” he said making you laugh.
As you moved on into the interview everyone had their turn with everyone, the same way you did with the guys. Ashton had gone up next as he was currently asking Luke questions. Later on Calum was now asking questions and he was asking Luke, “Okay Lucas, who in the band would you not let date y/n?” he said making a face as all of you giggled, “uhh i don't know, probably none of you guys
yeah none of you guys,” he said very confidently as you were next, “okay y/n, who is your best friend?” he said as you glared at him playfully, “i would say you, i don't know but i mean i've known you longer
sorry michael,” you said as he giggled, “suck it michael,” he said as you two giggled and moved on.
Now it was micheal turn and you were up first, “okay y/n hemmings, who in the band have you had a crush on,” he said as you smirked, “no one,” you said giggling as he moved his head side to side, “doesn't seem like it, wait have you had a crush on anyone?” he asked as you shook your head, “nope no one,” you said, popping the p as he nodded, “hmm okay i believe you,” he said as you giggled.

Summer time for you guys had just meant more work, your album was out and you were starting to make your footprint in the US, while touring with 1D once again. You guys even worked on a couple music videos that were from the album which was a success. As the tour with 1D ended you were all able to hang about letting things settle for a bit as fans endugled on the new album and the music videos.
You guys had gotten news that you were attending the VMA’s, just after attentings the ama’s in which you won the new artists award which was shocking to all of you. You couldn't not believe that 2 years into your career you were now winning awards, and honestly you had to thank your fans, they were the reason you were all here.
As you all sat in the living room you were thinking about what you were all going to wear, “wait, what are we wearing? We have to match, cus last time we were very bad at matching, we all wore what we wanted,” you said as luke scoffed, “no you went all out, i thought we decided on black and red, you were the one mismatching by wearing a dress,” he said as you frowned, “it was black, i thought we were supposed to go fancy? Or at least dress nicer than we usually do?” you said with your eyebrows rose while ash and micheal sat there in silence while cal had just walked into the tension of the room, “geez, what's going on?” he asked as michael spoke, “y/n wants us to match at the VMA’s, cuz apparently a black dress was not our style,” he said towards luke as he glared, “what was wrong with the dress? I thought you looked nice?” cal said as you smiled, luke had seen the smile you gave him, it was quite different then the smiles you gave to luke, “thank you! Thats what im saying, lu, i think we should be a little more serious with what we wear,” you said, looking at him as he glared at you but then softened his face, “yeah, okay fine, we will, is red our color still?” he asked as you nodded which then made you all disperse. Besides Luke, he was still going over the interaction you and Calum just had
this would change everything if it was true what he was suspecting.

Description:
Conn + Window + A spell idea = disaster
"Nevery," Conn suspiciously asked, "in theory, how could someone go on the roof?" "Why are you asking me this, boy?" Nevery had a hunch that Conn was about to do something stupid on the rooftop. Conn said, "I just wanted to know if it's possible to get up there."
Should he tell Conn? There's no telling what he'll do if he were to get up there. Nevery decided on, "Boy, as far as I know, there is no possible way to get up there. Don't even try to find out how." "Alright then!" Conn replied, already on his way out the door.
Unsurprisingly, he was going to ask Benet the same question. He went into the kitchen, where he found Benet preparing a dinner of chicken pot pie and biscuits. "Benet," Conn began, "do you think someone would be able to find a way on the roof?" "Why? Is someone there?" Benett questioned, ready to check for himself.
"No, I was just curious." Conn rather vaguely told him. "There's no reason why you should concern yourself with strange things like that." Benet commented, going back to cooking. This time, Conn stayed to be early for dinner.
And when the time came, they ate dinner. Conn brought up a new theory about the magic and them having their own personalities. It was an odd concept, but interesting to say the least. The kind of thing Conn would say.
"Boy, go to bed." Nevery ordered. "Fine." Conn said in a voice where you could tell he wasn't actually going to sleep. Conn went upstairs, and now something interesting starts to play over the dinner table.
Nevery was quick to ask Benet, "Did the boy ask you anything about rooftops?" Benet was intrigued to know that Conn had asked the same peculiar question to Nevery.  "Yes, he asked if someone can get up there, why?"
"I have a feeling he might try to find a way on the roof." Nevery informed Benet. "What do you think he's going to do up there?" Benet concerningly questioned. "I suspect," Nevery began, "that he might try something magic-related."
"Do you think he actually will find a way up there though?" Benet wondered out loud. There was no point in being concerned about something that most likely won't happen. "It should be impossible to be on there either way." Nevery concluded. And with that, they both went to bed, reassured that nothing could happen.
Conn woke up in a cold sweat. However, he couldn't remember why he'd woken up to begin with. But something else came to mind. The flying spell.  Well, he didn't know if it was a working spell. But he was given the opportunity to find out for himself.
He opened his bedroom window. Now that he really thought about it, did he really need a rooftop? Perhaps, just maybe, he could use a window instead. Well, he didn't feel like testing out his spell right now. He'll try it out in the morning!
Tap. Nevery's cane. "Boy, wake up." And he did just that. They went downstairs and had breakfast. "I'm going to the market." Benet announced. Everyone was aware of his absence. Nevery was in his workroom. Opportunity struck Conn once again. And this time, he used it.
Conn went to his room, excited for what was going to happen. He was going to fly, wherever he wanted! He got to the door, shaking with excitement. Nothing could nor will stop this feat. He opened the window, no screen protector. He jumped out, saying the incantation. But it didn't work.
Benet came back, his arm filled with bags of food. "Conn," he called, "I got something for you!" No answer.  "Where are you?" The only reply he got was his voice echoing at him. Maybe he was just in his room. So Benet went there.
And there wasn't a Conn to be found. It looked like he got of bed, but it was messier than usual. Benet quite put his finger on why, though. Strangely, the window was open. He closed the window. He didn't look down, however.
Maybe he's just in Nevery's workroom. So, he headed over there. "Have you seen Conn?" Benet questioned. "No, why?" Nevery told him. "Well," Benet said, "Conn see-" He cut himself off. He had just realized why Conn's window was open.
"I THINK CONN JUMPED OUT HIS WINDOW!" Benet exclaimed, horrified by what happened. "Go check outside!" Nevery ordered. He was far too tired to show his panic. He followed Benet slowly, perhaps to prepare himself for the horror that would soon meet his eyes.
Benet rushed downstairs, and shortly went outside. He began to circle Heartease, searching for Conn. Or rather, what was left of him. And soon, that search met its end.
There was Conn. Surrounded by his dried blood. Dead. And worse of all, no one would know why he did it. How happy he was prior. The truth was tainted.

Jackson
*Jackson’s heart felt ready to burst from your words, never imagining that someone would care so much and keep to their word like that, assuming that as soon as you could go home to your own space and your boyfriend, you’d jump at it but here you were, putting him first for some reason and he just didn’t understand why or how, especially considering he had been a proper dick to you up until yesterday, knowing he didn’t deserve any of your kindness* Hannah, it’s been a long night
you can go home if you want too. I’d understand. I can face the wrath of my father and clients on my own
*he was desperate for you to argue, to tell him no that you were coming with him, staying by him through the shitstorm he was about to face, even though he had gotten through enough of these instances alone to know he could handle it on his own, the thought of having support and someone to take some of the load off felt amazing, like some of the weight would be lifted, plus that meant he got more time with you even if it was just strictly professional, he considered that a win* *he just watches you with a soft gaze as you get up, admiring you in his clothes, knowing he’d probably never get to see this sight again and he wanted to hold onto it for as long as possible* *he nods as you tell him you were going to get dressed, desperate to tell you to stay dressed like that but it wasn’t his place and it was highly inappropriate, his heart and chest feeling heavy with sadness and disappointment, really expecting that you two would have until the evening, maybe even into the next day before someone came to bring you both back to reality* I gotta grab my laptop and phone and all that, too. Meet back in the foyer? *he gives you a small smile as you agree, waiting for you to walk out of the room first, Martin giving you a cheerful hello as you pass him, Jackson following you to the stairs* *he wasn’t worried about Martin, Martin was his employee not his father’s and Martin wouldn’t go off telling anyone about you, he was a friendly man who never wanted to ruffle any feathers*
___________________________________
*heart hitches as you use my name, that being the first time you had and there was something so intimate about it, especially seeing as I’d started calling you Jackson instead of Mr Ford, liking this closeness between you* *shakes my head as you offer me the chance to go home, not wanting to leave you to face this alone and also not wanting to see Matt just yet, knowing he wouldn’t be at home from work until later which meant I’d be at home all anxious waiting for the inevitable fight, not wanting that at all* Nope, I want to help. It’ll be way easier with two of us combatting it all. Even if I’m just making sure you’re fed and looked after. *grins, hoping you’d let me continue doing that with you, especially after last night, knowing I’d be happy to fix you coffee and bring you food now because I knew how much you appreciated it* *smiles as you accept me coming with, nodding as you suggest meeting in the foyer* Sounds like a plan. *grins, heading out of the room and seeing Martin, smiling at him brightly, liking him a lot* Hi, Martin. *waves a little before heading upstairs and into my office, using the private space to change into my outfit from yesterday, brushing out my hair and putting it in a ponytail before grabbing my notebook and laptop, before heading back downstairs and seeing you were waiting for me there, actually excited to work with you for once as we felt so comfortable with each other now*

"Even though I have a damn headache, I'm still gonna keep going with this!"
Cassie was nearly bouncing off the walls and thankfully her neighbors weren't in their apartments to complain about it. Cassie played her music as loud as she wanted as the noise that would normally travel through to her downstairs and side neighbor didn't matter at the moment.
Cassie sang loudly to the lyrics she was likely pronouncing wrong, she threw herself into the sound and would adlib whenever she wanted to. As the song was fading into the next song, she heard her phone going off.
"Aw, who the fuck is it?" She jumped onto her couch and took her phone before hanging and leaning from the back of the couch. She answered it. "Hello?" She said with a small singing voice.
"Cassie?"
Oh shit! She calmed down and sat on her knees on the couch. She turned down the next song in her playlist and spoke to Brayleigh.
"Yes?"
"Oh, sorry did I bother you?"
Yeah, you did. She was smiling at the thought, but calmly responded with; "no, I was just listening to music."
"Oh, I'd love to ask you what song, but Jess was telling me she wanted to talk to you, but you weren't picking up the phone or answering your door."
"Oh, I thought I heard someone at my door before... tell her I'm sorry, but I'll call her later tonight."
"Alright, that's all I called for."
Then hang the phone up. "Then Au Revoir!"
She heard him chuckle. "That's right, you did take French in highschool didn't you?"
"Yep!" She said.
"Well, how about I teach you a little something?"
She beamed and bounced on her couch. "You would? I totally forgot everything I learned and I am trying to be trilingual."
"You're cool with me teaching you some French?"
"Yeah! You pick the day and text me about it, okay?"
"Alright then, I'll text you in the morning."
"Alright, but bye then!"
"Yeah, see you."
Once she was off the phone with him, she then went to text Jessica.
"Sorry, I'm not calling you tonight, you'll have to wait until the morning."
Cassie sent that before shutting off her phone and returning to her music and resuming playing and jumping around.
...
The day after her sugar rush ended, Cassie found herself wondering, why did I agree to this again? Cassie pondered this while she stared at the papers on her desk, it was full of the notes she had taken from her highschool French class, I know I'm not gonna learn so why did I even say anything? Before she could think to answer that, Brayleigh's voice came from her entryway. He then found himself in Cassie's living room.
"Bonjour Cassie!" She gave him a small smile. "Are you ready to study?" Not really but- "you seem less excited about this than you were last night."
Yeah because I was PG-13 blackout drunk. "It's just 'cause I really don't remember anything about French. I think it'll be better if we just went back to the basics."
Brayleigh removed his bag and sat down on the couch where she was sitting. Brayleigh looked to the papers and seemed as if he were trying to focus for a second, he then smiled.
"So you know like 'hello', 'goodbye', 'my name is', and you can likely form a basic sentence right?"
"That is if I even remember that much."
Brayleigh shook his head. "You're super smart, so I'm sure it'll come back easily to you." Says the person who's actually French. "But I guess for today I could just refresh you and see if you can say something to me without my help. How's that sound?"
She was fine with that. Brayleigh smiled and began his lesson.
...
Cassie would have liked to think she learned something in the last two hours Brayleigh was speaking perfect French to her, but her mind was mostly on the fact that French really was a romantic language.
Then again, she'd think that of anyone with as pretty of a voice as Brayleigh's. She was listening well enough to parrot whatever he wanted back to him, but she knew she wouldn't remember a single bit of this after today.
Just like highschool.
"Okay, I think the last thing I'll teach you is some informal stuff, things you would say to people like me." Like I couldn't understand that much. "You would say Salut if you're saying hello to a friend and 'yes' is kind of tricky because if you're a friend saying Si would be fine too, but I've known business partners who were fine with me saying that to them, at the end of the day I guess it is just yes." Cassie understood. "Other than that, I can't really think of much else. That app you have is good, your pronunciation is really good too."
"I was told that by my teacher before too; but do I really sound good? Because I think I sound like I'm saying stuff with too much of an accent."
Brayleigh chuckled softly. "No it's perfect. My mom would likely think you're a natural!" Cassie smiled at that. "Oh, now that I'm thinking about it, you remember that nouns have genders right?"
"Yeah."
"Okay, then can you tell me how you would say beautiful or pretty between males and females?"
What's with this question? I guess I'll answer it.
"For females it would be Belle, for males it's Beau." Cassie recalled.
Brayleigh seemed too happy at that. "That is easy, but I just wanted to be sure you remembered to think about that."
While Cassie couldn't get why he asked her that, she nodded nonetheless. "Can I ask a question though?"
"Sure?" Brayleigh started to put his stuff away.
"This is a lot to waste time teaching me French, so why'd you accept when I told you about it?"
"It's not a waste of time, Cassie, and mainly it was because this is my native language. Of course I would want someone else to speak it." He paused. Jess speaks French, just talk to her. "And, you know, maybe one day you might wanna visit France and if you do I'm going with you no matter what you say. I don't believe that any foreigner should stay in a local hotel when they're in a different country. So you would be staying with us."
Cassie stared at him. So that's why. You want me to make a good impression on your parents if I ever met them. I shouldn't have asked.
"I'll have to take up that offer, but expect me to be nervous." Cassie forced herself to say.
"Don't worry, it's adorable anyways."
Fuck you, this shit isn't adorable! You wouldn't be saying that if you were the person who had to deal with this. Cassie just gave him a smile.
"But before I go I was thinking of getting something to eat, do you wanna go with me?" He offered.
For free food... "Of course."

Fandom: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Relationships: Giorno Giovanna/Jolyne Kujo, Diego & Johnny as the couple's children. Stellar appearances by other characters.
Words: 4000+
Warnings: Some surrealism. Canon typical violence.
Context: Giorno and Jolyne are a divorced couple. This is an excerpt that can be read as a standalone from Chapter 4 of my fanfiction A Shadow in My Heart. It is not necessary to read the whole story to understand.
Disclaimer: JJBA does not belong to me, it's by Hirohiko Araki. I'm doing this just for fun.

Giorno opened his eyes to the sun shining on his face. Unsurprisingly, he didn’t find Jolyne next to him in bed. He closed his eyelids again with heaviness. It stood to reason that she would not come back to him. He knew that. He had accepted that reality, so he soon got used to the idea of getting ready for the day and practicing his masquerade in front of the mirror.
He came out of his bedroom expecting to meet Jolyne in the dining room sooner or later. However, as he went downstairs, he began to hear familiar little voices arguing below, sounds that he, of course, didn't expect to hear that day.
"Mom! He's touching me!" Johnny complained.
"That's not true, you're lying," Diego accused him.
"You liar, you stone-eater!" he bellowed.
"You...!" Diego banged his fists on the table, ready to throw grain in the shape of dinosaurs from the box at his brother.
"Hey, you two, stop," came Jolyne's voice from the counter, apparently too busy to deal with her children's antics. "Give me a fucking break. I'm making breakfast on the fire, so if I hear you fight one more time, the family trip to Disney World is canceled."
"But Mom!" they protested in chorus.
"No 'buts'. Now eat your breakfast, or you'll be late for school."
"Va vene," the little ones said with resignation, again in unison.
Giorno stayed on the threshold of entry, trying to make sense of what was happening: Diego and Jonny were having waffles, cereal, and milk for breakfast; meanwhile, Jolyne turned her back on them and used the coffee maker and pan with the help of Stone Free.
Seeing him standing still doing nothing, Johnny called his mom to let her know.
"Ma’, pa’s down."
Giorno remained alert.
"It's about time, GioGio-Pie," she said, between mockery and charm.
When she turned around to greet him, Giorno saw Jolyne's huge belly, which had not been noticeable at all from behind, and which of course was not there the day before. In general, nothing was as it was supposed to be today.
Seeing the guarded look on the face of the father of her children, Jolyne hurriedly said in a coquettish voice:
"Hey, I promise you that they’re not on the due date yet. But even if I were to give birth today or tomorrow, I would do my best to keep this little one inside while you're in surgery, at least until you can be called to attend the birth."
‘Surgery? What...?’ Giorno didn't quite square that sequence, although something in the back of his head told him that everything was correct, indeed.
Seeing that he still stood there with his eyes wide open, his wife's smile began to disappear. She approached him and spoke quietly so that the children would not hear them, though they were very busy eating.
"Giorno Giovanna, don't tell me you’re anxious about being a father for a second time."
No, it wasn't that. He was never good at expressing his feelings, but now in particular, he didn't know what to say or how to act. Something didn't fit. More than a single factor, actually. His expression suddenly darkened.
At last, he opened his mouth to respond.
"I thought you didn't want to have any more children," he said, once he was sure to spin a reason that, to his amazement, sounded right. "That's all," he lied.
Jolyne softened her expression and looked at him with tenderness in her eyes, approaching him to then do the second thing that would surprise him most that morning: kiss him good morning on the lips in front of their children.
Diego and Johnny made sounds of disgust. Jolyne broke the kiss, laughing.
"Come on, you're both acting as if you've never seen Mom and Dad kiss."
Jolyne laughed again, pointing out how dramatic her children were. Her smile was so contagious that Giorno smiled too.
She turned to him, even more beautiful than he remembered.
"Well, these two are going to turn ten years old soon, then it will be high school, and in a matter of few years, they'll be off to university..." She explained to him, with tenderness in her voice as she looked at her children, whom she loved above all else, then caressed her belly, where the new child was growing inside her. "This house is going to feel so lonely when they leave, so this happening was for the best," she said, looking at him with a love in her eyes that Giorno thought he would never see in her again.
"The two of us
" he began to say, as memories crowded in his mind.
"We're going to be parents again, yes."
His doubts vanished with that statement. He, Giorno Giovanna, was chief surgeon of the city's hospital, also a stand user, like his wife, whom he met at university during his postgraduate degree, and like his children, whose low control of the power of their stands kept them living on the outskirts of the urban area, in a warm and suitable home.
Many years ago, he had a dream: the dream of going to the United States to study medicine and helping people. And he was able to achieve this thanks to the unconditional support of his mother and his stepfather, who loved him as if he were his own son. The two encouraged him all his life to follow his self-imposed goal.
Both gave him values and self-confidence and made him the good man he was today.
Giorno stroked his wife's face and stopped to look at her with compassionate eyes.
"I love you," he confessed. He didn't know why it hurt so much to say it, something he said frequently.
Jolyne smiled at him.
"I love you too, GioGio-Pie," she replied, before giving him a quick kiss on the lips. "Now sit down for breakfast, or you'll be late."
He smiled at her and went to the table to sit next to his children, accustomed to eating breakfast beside their father. Next to him, Johnny was watching him for a long time, until his mother interrupted them by putting a cappuccino in front of her husband.
"Don't you have to say something to your dad, Johnny?"
The little guy began to play with his fingers and bow his head in embarrassment.
"I have to make a model of the layers of the skin, and I... umh... I was wondering if you could help me, because I'm not good at biology like you or Diego."
"I could teach you, of course, if you beg me," Diego hastened to say with exaggerated mannerisms in his hands and torso.
"No! I can't stand you!" said Johnny, his cheeks flushed.
Before they started fighting again at the table, Giorno cleared his throat. His two sons calmed down and soon returned to eating breakfast quietly. For some reason, that surprised him, although it shouldn't.
He turned his gaze to his second son.
"Sure, let's work on that model together."
Johnny's eyes lit up.
"Really, pa’?"
He gave her a genuine smile.
"Of course, I wouldn't lie to you."
"I know you're always very busy," Johnny said quietly, "but Diego bothers me a lot whenever he discovers that he's smarter than me at something and..."
"You don't have to explain anything to me. I would be very happy to spend quality time together."
His son's blue eyes flashed.
"T-thank you very much, pa’!"
Giorno gave a genuine smile to his children. His wife sat next to him for breakfast and hurried the children. Outside, Danny Jr.'s barking gave the final brushstroke to the scene of the happy family.
Giorno felt content and at peace like never before, although this moment was completely out of the ordinary.
This was the life he dreamed of. He couldn't think of anything else as he watched his family share breakfast, as happy as they were and always should have been.
The barking of the dog was accentuated. Jolyne frowned.
"Is something wrong with Danny?"
The sun made a complete turn and brought the place to night, which in turn sought passage back into the day. The whole family got up from the table in a state of alert.
"Time... It's accelerating!" He watched is wife's face become disfigured by terror.
As the children hugged their mother, crying with fear and calling out to their father, the days and nights became shorter.
What could this mean?
"Gold Experience Requiem!"
Golden Experience appeared behind him, but not in its Requiem form. His stand was as surprised as he was when they looked at each other.
No, this could not be happening. Without the power of the Requiem, he was unable to protect his family and save them from the fate that awaited them.
"Giorno!" called Jolyne, as a whirlwind in the sky threatened to take her and her children, who were attached to her with Stone Free's strings that appeared to help.
There was nothing Tusk or Scary Monsters could do, even though they appeared alongside their users to protect them. Soon, the couple and their children were devoured by the whirlwind.
Giorno took his wife's hand as soon as he reached her through the gusts of wind. But her strings could barely hold her beside him for a moment before her children were out of sight and she went after them.
All that remained of his wife was the hand he held as she left him behind, trying in vain to save her children.
"Why can't I save my family?" He howled in agony. "Why?!"
"Because you decided to live a quiet and happy life, instead of taking charge of your destiny and unleashing your full potential." Pucci appeared before him in the midst of chaos, just before blowing a hole in his chest and ripping out his still beating heart. Giorno spat out blood and collapsed on the ground as the Father spoke. "It took me longer than I would have liked, waiting for you to take your rightful place, but now I know you didn't deserve to be DIO's heir."
This could not be happening.
In his still linked hand, the few strings that remained from Jolyne’s hand, at least shaped like it, held him in his last breath, while he howled a cry of pain and betrayal that was heard from the beginning of creation.
Was this the end of everything?
"Honey!" Jolyne'a voice called.
Giorno came to his senses with his mouth open in a silent scream. After his eyes stopped glowing, he blinked a few times in order to adjust his sight to the long, elegant dining table of the Giovanna mansion in Italy. His wife was next to him holding his arm, watching him with concern. Next to him, there were their two children also at dinner, watching him with wide eyes, full of fright and curiosity.
"I'm sorry," he tried to say, seeking an explanation for what had just happened.
Jolyne massaged his elbow over the table, calming him down.
"Don't worry, amore, you've been under a lot of stress recently."
Something didn't fit again for Giorno. The more he tried to remember the reason for his scream, the further the memories seemed to drift away, as if they had never happened.
"Dad, are you okay?" asked Diego, his eldest son. At least he remembered that.
Everything else was blurry, although he was sure that Diego and Johnny were his children and Jolyne, his wife. The rest kept fluttering in his head until they adjusted like pieces of a puzzle. However, he wouldn't say anything to his family so as not to worry them. They had already seen too much.
He smiled at his firstborn.
"I am."
Neither Diego nor Johnny seemed convinced when they exchanged those complicit twin looks. Jolyne, on the other hand, smiled at him as if nothing bad happened.
"Finish your dinner, GioGio-Pie." His wife kissed his lips and took his hand in hers, kissing his knuckles too.
Giorno was surprised for some reason. Seeing that his children were unfazed, he realized that perhaps they were accustomed to their parents' displays of affection.
What was this feeling?
The sun was about to set. The chiaroscuros of the sunset outlined the faces of his family as they dined at the long table. He was the only one who didn't taste his food again. He cut the steak. He blinked for only a second. The piece he forgot to bring to his mouth was no longer on the plate. Not even on his fork. He couldn't have eaten it; he would have remembered if he had.
Something spilled near him. Drops of that something hit the ground. Red liquid stained under the table. Blood. The windows were full of holes with the glass on the floor and over the inert bodies of the servants on the floor.
At the dinner table, sordidly arranged for their dinner, the bullet-ridden bodies of his wife and children painted the scene of his nightmares.
"No..."
His arm trembled and he let go of the fork. He had to use his hand to stop the shudder that spread throughout his body. He put his hand to his mouth at the vomitive reflex that the sight caused in his stomach.
Giorno hurried to inspect the bodies, which had not completely lost the warmth froom minutes ago when they chatted with him, and tried to treat each of the wounds, bullet by bullet, removing any logic that told him the uselessness of his efforts, that they were already dead and still would be after all that blood on the ground.
No, no, no. This was not real. It couldn't be.
"This... It can't be happening."
In the end, all he had in front of him were the empty bodies of his entire family.
"Golden Experience Requiem!"
The stand stood in front of him and looked into his eyes from above. Red, bloodshot eyes. Unbenevolent, ruthless eyes.
"Why didn't you save them?!" he incremented.
"My only duty is to protect you, master," he said calmly, without a shred of guilt.
Giorno slapped his own chest.
"Their lives were much more valuable than mine!" he clarified. "My life, my dreams, absolutely nothing matters if they are no longer here!"
He took a fragment of glass from the floor from the ground and proceeded to cut his jugular.
Golden Experience Requiem didn't let him die, making the blood return to the open wound and close on its own, as if he had never tried to kill himself. Giorno brought his hand to his neck, unharmed.
"Why?" he insisted under the impact, with the pain of loss trapped in the throat he tried to cut. "Why didn't you let me die too!?"
Golden Experience Requiem did not give him an answer.
Giorno heard certain voices at the other end of the room again, as if decades had not passed since he last heard them. A dark corner lit up for that single table:
"You little brat, did you really think you deserved to be happier than any of us?" asked Abbacchio, sitting at the table of Libeccio, next to Buccellati and Narancia. "Did you really think your dreams were more important than ours?"
"Abbacchio." Giorno stood up and advanced towards him. "I..."
Again, he was fifteen years old, and he was in Libeccio as in the year 2001. Again, he was that teenager sustained by his dream, but his heart still carried the full burden of a lifetime of holding the world on his back.
"I was going to go back to school and look for Fugo to convince him to come back to our side, remember?" said Narancia, stopping playing with the Carbonara on his fork, the same dinner the three of them ate on their plates. "I would have asked Trish to go out for a Margherita when we finished the mission."
"Na-Narancia..."
"Why did your dream come true and not ours, Giorno? Why?" The noblest of his demons insisted.
He didn't know what to answer. Don Giovanna led a whole life wondering the same thing.
"Did you think you deserved a happy ending instead of us, insolent boy?" Abbacchio insisted.
Again, that question. Giorno had asked himself the same question for more than twenty years, unable to find an answer that would calm his soul and justify his dream above that of any of them.
What hurt him most of all was that Buccellati was there and didn't even speak to him. With a glass of red wine in his hand and a thoughtful look, the man who he once obeyed, the elder brother he never had, was unable to look at him.
Giorno Giovanna was aware of why without needing to be told. In his years as Don of Passione, he managed to keep the sale of the drugs away from children, although he could not prevent it from reaching them in one way or another. Nor weapons from taking the life of the innocent from time to time. "Collateral damage" Fugo used to call them, but he knew they weren't doing enough.
It was never enough.
"I... I'm so sorry."
"Don't be sorry, Giorno," Bruno said, then returned to look at him, regal. "Did no one ever tell you that the price to pay for a dream like yours is loneliness?"
"Dreams can become nightmares." Giorno had to learn that in the cruelest way.
"When you want to protect someone, sometimes it's best to sacrifice yourself," Dr. Kujo's voice echoed in his memory.
Giorno returned to being the adult Don Giovanna. Life would not be so kind for someone who stopped being a child a long time ago.
The world needed him. His family needed him too. Renouncing his position as a Don was not an option on behalf of the comrades who perished to get him to where he was, nor for all the people who worked every day to make his dream come true. Naples, Italy, and the entire globe required his presence among their leaders.
The peace of this world demanded his power. The family he formed with Jolyne demanded that he be powerful enough to fight the tragic fate that awaited all Joestar, but he also had to be able to step aside from the narrative of their lives and stay away from them so that the dangerous life he had chosen would not reach them.
It was best to keep the people he loved away from him to continue his dream. Even if it hurt. His agony would be the price to pay for the safety of their loved ones.
In the back of his mind appeared a memory of him on the phone the night they recovered Jolyne and the slap of reality that hit him when he saw her injured, only because some unhappy person wanted to used that to get to him.
"Dr. Kujo, I know I'm not in a position to ask for anything, but I need you to listen to me. I just signed the divorce papers. Jolyne is free," he said over the phone. On the other side, he only heard complete silence. Not that he expected any answers. "I'd like to ask you to please come to Italy and help with moving her and the children back to the U.S. She must get out of here. The sooner the better."
Without his farfalla, he was just a rose doomed to quietly wither, but that was better than seeing her dead because of him.
The only act of cowardice he would never regret was dodging Jolyne’s pleas to not sign the divorce, without giving her an explanation. He was weak before her. Every time he looked into her eyes, the hope grew that there was still a future for the two of them. Until that almost ended up costing him the life of the woman he loved.
"You have my respects, Giovanna," came Dr. Kujo's voice. "You did the right thing. I've never sympathized with you, but now I see that you're not the bastard I thought you were. Remember this in the darkest days: any pain is bearable if your family is safe, away from you and the world around you. That's all that matters."
"That's all that matters," he repeated to himself, closing his eyes. When he opened it, neither Buccellati or Abbacchio nor Narancia were there. Not even Doctor Kujo.
Giorno was again on the threshold overlooking the kitchen, while his children ate their breakfast. They were no longer at home but at Jolyne's. He sought to make his own home always resemble that of his wife to evoke the warmth of the home to which he no longer belonged.
All identical pieces arranged on a different stage.
Everything was just as he remembered it. Jolyne turned around without a bulging belly. He didn't see it.
She passed by him as if he didn't exist.
"Umh, Diego, I was wondering if you could help me with the model of the skin layers. Umh, you know, you're good at biology..." Johnny said. It was obvious that he swallowed his pride to ask his brother for that favor.
"If you beg me..." he insinuated. Jolyne gave him a warning look. Diego seemed to know very well what that meant. He sighed. "Fine. I'll help you."
His mother smiled, satisfied with the answer.
"You're both brothers. You have to support each other, okay?"
Don Giovanna couldn't help but smile. So, they were fine. It was possible for them to overcome the fate bequeathed to all Joestar if they had each other.
"Hurry up, or you'll be late," their mother reminded them.
"Va bene," they replied, hastening the march.
His ex-wife made herself a coffee and looked at her children with a certain pride. Even though he was also there, standing in the distance separating her two children, she didn't see him. She smiled at his children with a tenderness on her face that he remembered was no longer for him.
She loved her children as much as he did. And that was fine, because their lack of love for him in no way diminished the love that either parent had for the kids.
Giorno placed a hand on each of his children's little heads. As expected, they did not feel that gesture. He knelt, wanting to get a better look at them and see how much they had grown in his absence. Because he was not really present with them, nor in their lives.
That's how it should be. Even if it hurt like hell.
He gritted his teeth and avoided looking into their eyes, helpless.
"Go wash your hands, grab your backpacks, and get in the car!" their mother announced, quickly drinking the rest of the coffee she had left.
"Ok!" the little ones replied, jumping up and down in their chairs to get out.
Giorno got up from the floor and watched them leave the corridor. He turned around, now alone with his ex-wife. At first, he didn't know what to do as she hurried to wash the dishes. He hesitated to approach, but since she couldn't see him anyway, he stood still watching her.
She probably still hated him. Even so, his natural instinct was to push aside the bangs in front of her face that bothered her and that she couldn't push back on her own. It was useless. Somehow, his hand only stroked her cheek.
She reacted.
"Huh? Is anyone there?"
Giorno opened his eyes in surprise, and hope slowly lit up his eyes. He clenched his fists and forced himself to remain calm, taking a step back in more than one way.
He could talk and tell her that he was there, that he had always been and would be with her, but that would not be right. That wasn't what he was supposed to do. It was no longer his place.
"Be happy, Jolyne Kujo," he murmured sincerely, with a strong longing, harboring that desire in his heart.
Giorno turned around and left like a soul in sorrow condemned to wander forever on the face of the earth.
