ok i'm calm now because today is a day i feel genuinely proud of my driver;

looking at the results in fp and the final result in quali, i can say that i'm not exactly afraid of the race tomorrow. winning or losing, today is an important day because charles proved something.

last year charles was accused to bottle pole positions when that was not the case at all (he bottled two, but the other results were solely because of ferrari incompetence + mattia binotto clownery). this is something we leclerc fans had to deal with in this entire year.

and that's is something i really love about this kid. he never gives up even in the face of adversities. he actually grows in those situations. good drivers maybe wouldn't cope with what charles has been through with ferrari (of course i'm not talking about greats like lewis or seb), but the mental exhaustion this team put their drivers through is unbearable. there is no normal situation at ferrari, the mess is their day to day life (i can say that, i'm a tifosi, i'm allowed to say that) but charles never let it put him down.

he probably feel sad when happens, but he barely raises his voice because he likes to proves himself on the track. actually he uses those occasions as a fuel to try again in the next race. maybe because he had a rough life, he learned how to deal with these situations better than us, fans. he moves on, keep smiling and try again.

since we have a grid penalty tomorrow, this quali might seem irrelevant but it's not. it is a message. to everyone who doubts him. it is a message to everyone (inside of ferrari or not) who is trying to write him off. charles leclerc knows his own worth, he knows he is talent and he is fast. he knows what to do! we just need to trust him and hope ferrari doesn't ruin his chances again.

we had part 1 of dreamteam's final fight tonight (about 5 and a half hours of combat and boy howdy we ain't done)

and in a move i don't think i'll ever top

preceded by "okay so this is really really stupid but I have nothing useful I can do right now"

Vic got a high enough athletics check to grab Asmodeus, who we are currently fighting, while she was 15ft in the air. and then rolled a high enough athletics check to grapple her

which let me use this handy little magic item I've had since the beginning of the campaign, the manacles of weakening, which immediately drop her strength score by 4 and give a point of exhaustion.

we determined that the grapple check score set the DC for breaking free. so it was 27. and with that lowered strength she failed multiple times.

and I am still absolutely THRIVING from that, my little 21 year old half orc who went into this game just looking for a dwarf who had been kidnapped has now successfully grappled and weakened a god, not to mention the two crits he got on her while raging, like

that was just one insane thing out of so many insane things in this chunk of combat, dreamteam my beloved we're certainly going out with a bang

I'm so happy to finally introduce this poor doomed squad to you: from left to rigth that's Rain, Amber, Rex (obviously), Bug, Whiplash and Clear. And you'll just have to read the fic to learn the name of the curious fluffball who's trying to befriend them ;)
