There are so so so many ways to experience the gods.

There is no right or wrong way. There is no blunt way. Its all feeling and ephemeral.

If you've felt warmth, if you've had a dream, if you've seen a crow that stares at you for too long, if something inexplicable happens and you're lucky suddenly, if you've caught eyes with a stranger and felt like you knew each other. If the candle flickers a certain way, if one time when you're singing your voice sounds gorgeous in a way you weren't expecting, these are all the presence of a god.

God phoning is popular on witchtok but half the time what they're saying is bullshit. I've very very rarely heard a voice and every single time it was my own voice, just suffused with something, saying something I normally wouldn’t say. Or maybe I would. I've never heard a clear, distinct, audible voice. Its an invisible world we're connecting with, its a different plain. We cannot experience it the same way we experience every day life.

We'll never sit down at a coffee table across from the physical manifestation of our god, and know that its them, not until after. And even then we can never be sure. That’s the nature of it. There are no absolutes, there cannot be. That’s what makes it beautiful. That’s where belief comes in. It isn't about being good enough or worthy enough or devout enough, that doesn't exist. That isn’t what its about at all. You are worthy even if the divine doesn’t manifest in a way we've been told is the only real way, and you are connecting even if you cant see it now. My most intense spiritual experiences are never something I realize are happening in the moment, its always only after that I can see it clearly.

The gods are all around us.

It's kind of a trend nowadays to get into spirituality, which I can't say is a bad thing, but I'm a logical thinking person and an over-thinker😅 and decide to go a little deeper into this topic. After all, astrology is a science, and that science can explain a lot about things like the dark night of the soul, the death of the ego, or even twin flames. Here are some astrological transits that will make you feel like something extraordinary is happening to you. I hope you enjoy this one. 🫶

So I read about twin flames and couldn't get these two out of my mind while doing so. Because of how the article seemed to be specifically about them. So here we are. Miles Kane and Alex Turner fitting all 11 signs of finding your "mirror soul" / twin flame (based on this arcticle. Quotes taken directly) I linked most sources within the screenshots/images themselves. This post could go on forever - so I had to stop at some point. Still, welcome to my most unhinged post yet! And overall in personalities - where Miles is much more extraverted, outgoing. More talkative in interviews, a charmer with tons of friends. A performer first and foremost. Alex is more of a self-proclaimed introvert, on the calm, quieter side. Didn't even want to be the lead singer - wanted to write and play. Seems to enjoy process/studio more than performing.

so obviously we don't know much about their private conversations and such. But honestly the way their differences complement one another (more on that below) - the way they've been friends for years (and close ones - constantly in contact/visiting each othert etc.) and have mentioned they can talk to each other about anything in their lives and also what I take away from some of their lyrics; with all that I just know this is true. Also quite literally they do support one another beautifully in their journeys and purpose in life (which yeah. I believe in big part is music and art). Truly believe there wouldn't be a TBHC or The Car without TLSP influences. Same with Miles' new stuff. (Also TLSP in itself is to me - their most valuable work of all). From the moment you met and still to this day, you feel drawn to them physically when they're near you, as well as magnetically, when you're apart. It's as though their energy is always with you, always wanting to be closer.

Also if you believe this twin flame thing is about romance - well then the fact they keep being in other relationships is the biggest thing (but still can't keep their hands off each other? potentially?) If you choose to see it as a deep platonic connection only - then just ignore the girlfriend-reference part above. 7. The relationship is very intense

There's a definite emotional charge between twin flames, says Spinelli, and they often develop quickly because you already feel so familiar. And as Kaiser adds, "Because you are so connected at a soul level, you feel things deeper together, which often makes for more intensity and passion."

I mean here's another one where we don't really need much material, do we? It's just there. And also previous quotes are examples for this one too. About how quickly they became the closest of friends: long conversations on the phone, sleeping at each others houses, getting to know each other's parents etc. And then they write music together (stating that if they met earlier they'd have been a band together for sure) and hop onto a plane to record an album in the French countryside, spending all their time together there. As still relatively fresh friends at that point.

I also needed to include this somewhere because I 100% also perceive Lennon/McCartney as twin flames - and think that this is where many of the comparisons between them lay (and also big part of why Miles & Alex can relate to the two on a deeper level) (we're not gonna talk about the sad ending for those two though. Okay? No).

8. You keep coming back together

"The chase" is most definitely a part of the twin flame relationship. At some point, one of you may walk away, out of fear, anger—you name it. But you'll often come back.

Also the fact they're in each others lives since they were pretty much kids and still after years chose/choose to spend so much time together, practically living next to one another at one point (Miles moving to LA partially for Alex) and talking about how they never do more than 2 months without seeing each other (and that's caused by big stuff, like tours). Also... I think if someone belives there's more going on bewteen the two then yeah... This seems like a description of what it seems like from the outside (with one of the bigger "on-agains" being around EYCTE era? And off- around TBHC / CDG album eras?)

Because twin flames act as mirrors, they challenge us to do better, and oftentimes, your purposes are aligned in a way that pushes both of you to new heights. It's a very expansive relationship that promotes a lot of growth.

Well guess what - when they're together they balance each other out - and Alex is much more happy and outgoing. Even in interviews - which he famously doesn't really enjoy/do well in. (Take this from a fellow anxious/shy/quiet person. It's a GIFT to find a peron who opens you up this way). Miles also definitely gains a lot from Alex's presence and contrasting way of being.

Hello again, everyone! Welcome back to the next lesson for the Beginner Class. Last lesson, we talked about finding your personal center as well as a bit more in depth on grounding. Well, today, we'll be taking a closer look at the many forms and practices of meditation.

What Is Meditation?

Meditation is an essential aspect of witchcraft and magic practice as it allows you to interact with the universe (or your higher power) through conscious thought and focused desire. Ritual, spellwork, and your regular thoughts and speech are examples of other techniques. Meditation is a discipline in which one trains the mind and creates a state of consciousness in order to gain some advantage. Meditation encompasses a wide range of different activities and practices. We will go into more detail in the following sections.

Nearly every culture in the world has some connection to meditation. Whatever the design, they are typically intended to encourage connecting with spiritual guidance, feeling at ease, developing inner strength, having psychic visions, becoming closer to God, remembering former lives, going on astral journeys, and more. Meditation is a well-known, age-old technique that has been used for millennia to promote calmness, concentration, and connection with our inner selves. The benefits of meditation on the mind, body, and soul are reciprocal.

A Brief History

In actuality, nobody is certain of the exact beginning and location of meditation. But our theories are supported by facts. This ancient rite is mentioned in many civilizations and religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. All of these faiths have something to offer to the modern understanding of meditation as it is practiced today. Although the history of meditation is controversial, many people think it began there more than 5000 years ago.

India Origins

It is generally accepted that the Vedas, a collection of Hindu writings, include the oldest written account of meditation. The Vedic books were written around 1500 BCE. The Vedas include mention of a practice known as "Dhyana," which is considered to be the first example of meditation that we are aware of. In Sanskrit, the word "dhyana" implies "contemplation" or "meditation." It is intended to calm the mind and attain "thoughtless awareness." However, Vedantism is frequently rejected by Buddhist beliefs in favor of the Buddha's teachings.

The various Buddhist levels of meditation can also be found in other ancient Indian scriptures dating back to the first century BCE. These texts are known as the Pli Canon Sutras. The Pli Canon is a body of Theravada Buddhist literature. And then there's Buddha. Siddhartha Gautama, an Indian prince, was the inspiration for Buddha. He was looking for a means to end human pain. Gautama attempted numerous strategies, but none of them seemed to work. He sat down under a tree one day and determined not to move until he discovered the solution he sought. He attained enlightenment after 49 days of meditating and started the Buddhist faith. The practice of meditation is claimed to have spread throughout India from there. Buddhist monks embraced meditation as a means of achieving inner peace, frequently sitting for hours in silence, meditating on their master's teachings.

Asia Origins

Around the sixth century BCE, the practice of meditation spread to China, where it was influenced by Taoism and Buddhism. At the end of the Han dynasty, Buddhist monks from India introduced meditation to China. Over the next century, the practice began to blend into Chinese culture. The Taoists also believed in the efficacy of meditation and devised their own techniques for mind-stilling. One famous Taoist meditation practice is known as "Qigong." Qigong is a type of moving meditation that entails slow, gentle motions as well as deep breathing. Meditation extended from China to Japan, Korea, and other parts of Asia. Zen Buddhists perform "Zazen," a type of meditation practiced in Japan.

The technique was introduced to Japan by the Japanese monk Dosho, who journeyed to China to study Buddhism under the famous master Hsuan Tsang. Zazen, which translates as "seated meditation," is sitting in quiet with one's eyes closed. Korea has its own type of meditation known as "Won," which is based on Buddhist and Taoist concepts. It is a sort of moving meditation in which gentle, rhythmic motions are used to calm the body and mind.

Western Origins

Meditation became popular in the Western world in the twentieth century. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was among the first Westerners to popularize meditation. Maharishi is most known for popularizing the technique of "transcendental meditation" in the 1960s. The Yogis are a Hindu group that believes in the power of meditation to help one achieve enlightenment. The term "yoga" truly means "union" or "connection." Yoga seeks to unite the mind, body, and soul.

Other Yogis, such as Paramahansa Yogananda, who penned the classic book "Autobiography of a Yogi," also contributed to the introduction of meditation to the West. Maharishi's method of meditation is closing our eyes and reciting a mantra. A mantra is a word or phrase that is repeated repeatedly. The idea is to concentrate on the chant while clearing our brains.

Meditation & Spirituality

Spirituality is a broad topic with numerous interpretations. In general, it encourages a sense of connection to something larger than ourselves, as well as a connection with your higher self or higher awareness. It promotes the search for meaning in life and living with a broader perspective. It has a highly global appeal--something that all humans can relate to. Meditation & Witchcraft

As magical practitioners and witches, one of the most important things we can master is the art of meditation. It allows us to still the soul and quiet the mind, which, in turn, allows us to listen to our intuition and focus on our personal energy. Meditation can also be used as a gateway for higher awareness or entering the astral realm.

Now, meditating may not come easy for a lot of you. This is perfectly normal. When I first started practicing, I had a feeling inside that made me feel extremely goofy, and stupid. The more I ignored it, the louder and stronger it grew. I eventually sat with the voice and came to the conclusion that it was my ego, driven by fear and insecurity. The more I sat with the voice, the less I felt stupid about things. I believe this was my initiative into shadow work. Anyways, back to class -

Utilizing meditation within your craft will prove to be absolutely essential the more you do ritual and spell work. Don't give up hope if "conventional" methods don't work for you. We're going to get into several different techniques of achieving the same meditative state.

Types of Meditation

There are so many different types of meditation, if I went into them all, this lesson would turn into an entire chapter. I'm just going to keep it sweet and simple here, but I absolutely encourage you to look into different methods, especially if none of the ones I have listed work for you. Let's get to it.

Active Meditation

Sitting in silence for even 2 minutes may sound like absolute torture for a lot of you. Good news is, that's not the only way to meditate. Have you ever done a yoga class, a workout session, or even taken a nice, fresh shower & felt a sense of bliss? Well, you experienced a meditative state of mind. You can do this by getting out in nature, cleaning the house, performing an art form, anything that involves movement can be a form of active meditation! Woo-hoo for us neurodivergents!

Body Scan

This method allows you to reconnect the mind to the body in a way that notices any physical sensations or tension. While relaxation naturally happens here, the goal is to pay attention to sensory experiences you typically don't notice. This allows you to be more present in your day to day life and is also a wonderful grounding and centering technique.

Mindful Breathing

The body is wiser than the mind, and this technique proves it. It is a very simple, mindless method, but has very profound effects on the body and mind. There are several breathing techniques out there, which I encourage you all to research on your own. All have different effects on the mind and body, so please be sure to choose one that is suitable for you.

Visual Meditation

This is when you focus your mind's eye, or your imagination, into an image to center the mind and the body. The main focus is to imagine and hone in on a memory or something creative and nice that opens the mind's eye. This is a wonderful exercise for those who want to enhance their visualizing abilities.

Sound Meditation

Again, this is exactly as it sounds. This meditation uses sound to provoke a meditative state of mind and align the bodily energies.

How To Build A Ansestor Altar+ Ritual Setup.

As you know Hoodoo is a practice of ancestral veneration. The honoring of spirits and even working and praying to our ancestors is practiced around the world and in many cultures. Many African religions have the belief that your ancestors play a active role in your life.

The spirits of the dead are invited into our household so that they may provide us with blessings and protection. Maintaining a connection with our dead ancestors is a foreign to most Americans because Christianity permeates our culture. But Christianity teaches that death is the end then we move on, buts that not all to some good mediums says that after death life still goes on they talk, have get togethers even eat & drink their favorite foods. Not to survive like we need it for but to injoy.

For those who are seeking to practice traditional hoodoo, it can sometimes be difficult to talk about the fears of life and death. Hoodoo like many African traditions, that sees life and death as a journey for the soul. Where our lives in the world of the living world ends one day and it rises on the spiritual plane (Heaven) where our souls continue to live.

Without the assistance of our ancestors, Spirit guides and of course GOD, trying to perform workings is would be a waste time and energy. The spirits don't just power magical workings, they also guide our steps so that we can avoid negative situations and recover from our mistakes quickly. The real strength of a root doctor/ conjure man comes from the ability to provided help and to write a prescription that would best fit the needs of a client or ourselves with the help of our ancestors through and a altar.

Now you don't half to have your full altar decacated to just the ansestors it can be to our guides (there important) a Saint, God all of these things can be added to your altar space.

"Creating an ancestor altar or even a altar period don't always seem worth it to newcomers, and usually skipped over for the magic part of it".

Creating An Ancestor Altar:

Before You Begin let me share how to properly do this traditionally. When creating a altar it's not only about just any of your ansestors, you must find ansestors that either have pratice hoodoo or know about it, that person with your guides will guide you the right way. Now this doesn't mean you can't put a deceased sibling, parents or grandparents you can but the ones that will help the most in your practice is the ansestor that knows it the most. My advice to you is do what I mentioned above and a reading to know which spirits want to be on your altar. (See post on spiritual court) it can talk a while so be patient.

Find a place in your home where there's not many people that will see your altar or walk by. You can also use your closet. Now i know most people would say that you shouldn't put your altar in the bedroom the reason for this is the spirits, when you get good at this practice and you made a connection with your guides, ansestors, God that space will have spirit traffic and it can get annoying if your a medium and it could affect your dreams and sleeping pattern and that can happen but that basically new age hoodoo or spiritualism not traditional but you can choose your room if you want to.

2. When you’ve decided on the right space, which can be a higher table or a low table to kneel to pray. Next you can clean your surface with Holy Water, Florida Water, or Incense like palo santo after say a prayer over the table expressing a desire for it to act as a holy space.

3. Find a cloth for your altar. Most commonly white cloth is used which ever you like would do.

4. The first thing on your ancestor altar should be the Bible. If you want The Bible can be placed in the center of your altar. The Bible is a powerful book of prayers. (Also, it is likely that your ancestors were Christian and they will respond to verses that were familiar with them)

5. Place a white candle above your Bible. The candle acts as a beacon drawing spirits closer to us. (It's great for guides and God)

6. Add a wine glass full of water (any cup would do) next to the candle. We place the glass of water on our altars to make a stronger connection with the spirits. Keep water on your altar and change it weekly. Water is divine and aids in your ancestors’ communication with you.

7. Place a picture of your ancestors to the left and right of your Bible, candle and glass of water. Their pictures help to strengthen your connection. )Don’t worry if you don’t have pictures of them) other things that can be added to your altar to strengthen the connection.

If you have other religious items like statues, cards or personal thing you want to add do it

This set up is the essentials needed to make an ancestor altar. If you can’t afford anything extra or if you don’t have much space to work with them start with this basic setup. You can always add more to your altar as I mentioned above.

Offerings: When it comes to offerings you want to add things that they would like. The common offerings to your altar would be water.

Other offerings that some spirits would like us coffee, rum, and food. You can use small glasses and plates to place your offerings on.

Add Items: That are significant to your spiritual practice on your altar, like some type of divination tools. These tools will come in handy in clarifying the message that might come through your altar.

Finally: Place an image of a spirit known for protection on your altar. It’s always best to have a working relationship with the spirit you chose to place on the altar, but if your beginning you might not have a working relationship with a spirit of protection so use this time to begin communicating with that spirit as well. I suggest Saint Michael or the Virgin Mary. This spirit will act as a guardian between you and any random spirits that may be attracted to your altar, your spirit guides are important to build a relationship with as the guide you through like and can help you to connect to others. God is the big on you want to build a relationship with so pray or just talk to him this will help because he's the one who does everything for is. Also place an extra candle and glass of water next to the image of your protector and guide, and even God to show your appreciation.

Other Common Items: You can choose to add things like dirt from a families grave, incense & burner are very important, candle snuffer, a bell or rattle or important, flowers, and Holy Water, Florida Water. (See my post on insense and rattles & bells)

How you arrange the items on your altar is a matter of personal preference. The water, coffee and rum should be cleaned and refreshed at least once a week. Any food offerings should be left on the altar until it has lost all life and becomes stale. Your candles should be replaced as soon as they go out.

Working Ritual at your Ancestor Altar: Now that your ancestor altar is completely set up, it’s time to begin welcoming the spirits into your home. Begin by inviting your ancestors to “sit” at your altar. This can be achieve this with a three-day long ritual that is intended to prepare the space.

This ritual is truly traditional, now you don't have to do this step but it can help to make a strong connection.

Day 1- At your altar, try to imagine the faces of those who have passed. Take as much time as you need to really make a connection. After your prayers, visit their grave site if you can.

Day 2- Prepare meals that they would like.

Day 3- Bring them a gifts as an offering. Light your altar candles and sit in quiet meditation and prayer.

After you have invited them to your altar make sure to spend time with them. Pay attention to your dreams and to your intuition during this process. Your ancestor will eventually respond to your prayers so pay attention.

If your wanting to become a witch and start practicing witchcraft I would suggest the following (In a nutshell and quick/simple) Do research: On the topic, maybe look at crystals and pick a few to understand what they can help with, read some books about it and actually see if it's something you want to do and make a practice into your daily life. Pick a certain thing that intrigues you (like necromancy, ancestral work or doing just candle magic). Really dive into it and study what makes your soul happy. Maybe look into a deity you pulled towards. Self-work: I would suggest learning grounding techniques and how to meditate (if you can't that's ok, it happens). Learning about yourself and knowing that you want to work on yourself to become better. Maybe learning about shadow work. Try and see if you can listen to a guided meditation to meet your spirit guides. Honor yourself and those who came before you in your family. Write down dreams and learn if you are lucid dreaming and or how to. Open your third eye and work through the barriers you have that are limiting. The craft: For beginners, I will always suggest doing protection magic and spells. It is so important during your journey. There will be people and entities who will target you. Sigil magic is great for beginners as well along with doing candle magic. Once you start doing these and getting your feet wet then I would suggest making a spell bottle and growing from then on.

CHARA, The Fallen Human

The human that comes from the Absolute. It appears when people call its name. You cannot see it, but you can feel the spirit’s presence with a strange sensation. But do not worry, because it is harmless. Moving on, Chara swap places with W.D. Gaster for few main reasons:

Both of them are somewhat dead.

Both of them are the game’s anomalies.

Both are very mysterious characters.

Both of them are even responsible for certain events.

With that out of the way, allow me to explain what and who Chara is supposed to be and what is their role in both earthsecret and AETHERCREST, respectively.

In earthsecret, Chara was the first human to discover the mysterious world below the depth of the ocean. A world where monsterkind dwelled in peace. They grew up there and trained to become a warrior. They swore to protect monsterkind from any kind of destruction. As more children ended up in their world, Chara took care of them all and raised them to become the Underwater Fighters. They were the leader amongst all seven humans [The 6 Fallen Humans swap places with the Gaster Followers/Goners]. Unfortunately, they all fell upon conjuring the Mist [the Barrier replacement] in hopes to prevent the deadly parasite from spreading further. Nonetheless, their spirits lingered in the Underwater...

In AETHERCREST, Chara chose Frisk (who replaces the Vessel) as a subject to set off on a brand new journey throughout the isles for reason that is not known yet. Unfortunately, this course of action was immediately halted by the strange man himself. Chara reached out to some people from the Shadow Realm through spiritual contact and voice. Afterwards, these people began to go insane and all they yearned for was a peaceful SILENCE.

Now, let’s talk about what is happening in earthsecret now that it is going through a reboot.

earthsecret is less about "humans vs monsters" and more about "stopping the destruction of monsterkind". Humans, for now, are portrayed to be mysterious in terms of their existence until AETHERCREST, albeit there are several hints about it here and there. Regardless, the game’s main focus is to prevent "the end" caused by a deadly parasite that turns each monster into goner.

The Barrier is replaced with the Mist from where you encountered Papyrus at the end of Snowdin. The Mist exists to keep the infected monsters sealed within, however the Mist won't last any longer and they will need to find another way to stop the parasite that has already claimed many lives. So you need something to keep it stable rather than destroy it. But perhaps there is a way to stop the infection and the clear the Mist at the same time? Who knows!

Vessel, or whichever you want to call them/her/him/it, is an amalgamation of two different races; they hold the essence of both monster and human. After all, they were created through the magic of monster and the DNA of human thanks to Chara’s willing participation. It is barely Dr. Gaster's successful project called EASE. Vessel contains an empty, star-shaped soul that he hoped soon to be filled by the Player/Anomaly beyond his world. He even uploaded his consciousness to the empty body, so that when it is finally active, he will be able to communicate with them/her/him/it. The STAR is the key to determine the future of monsterkind. Whether it be peaceful or... not-so peaceful? 

The Vessel is seen as a threat to some monsters because they look like they have been infected. The grayscale body gives them that impression, and is therefore considered dangerous. Not to mention, they are connected to Dr. Gaster, who has accidentally caused the whole disaster, even involving the president's daughter. On the other hand, some see them as the answer to the cure, and thus must be taken to President Rudolph immediately.

The Vessel is yours to customize. You are also free to add some characters to your creation. Though depending on how you ACT throughout the game, it will give them personality trait. Their name, body, gender, anything else... shape them to your heart’s content and treat them with care. At the end of the game, the Vessel will become their own person and they will not need your guide anymore as they will finally be able to continue with their life normally.

Fun Trivia: there is a hypothetical online earthsecret game as a bonus where Gaster calls all the vessels around the timeline to join and meet every other vessels in his strange void paradise.

The music artist on giving live concerts in the world of video games.

When you play Sky: Children of the Light, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) by independent game developers Thatgamecompany, the first and last sound you’ll hear is Aurora. Tapped by Thatgamecompany co-founder Jenova Chen to provide the soundtrack for two of the game’s pivotal moments, the Norwegian singer, writer, and producer becomes an invisible guide, her preternaturally sweet voice navigating players through Sky’s most poignant scenes. Sky is wondrous, an inclusive game that incentivizes touch and communication with a narrative rooted in ancestral memory, communal care, and sacrifice. In addition to its foundational storyline, Sky features themed seasonal adventures, often involving unique collaborations; the last month and a half was the “Season of Aurora.”

On December 8, Sky presented a virtual concert during which a winged avatar of Aurora led an audience of nearly four thousand players on a journey of immersive music videos, call-and-response, and storytelling. We became butterflies, fish, manta rays encircling Aurora in a kind of fey, digital mosh pit. It was unlike anything I’ve witnessed, somewhere between a virtual reality, an online concert, and a cyber-choir—a brief, charged experience of togetherness. It was repeated throughout the day for the next several weeks. Aurora, who often sings and speaks about the importance of caring for each other and the planet in the face of real grief, is an apt choice for a game that emphasizes tenderness as the antidote to loneliness.

Absolutely. I’ve always been a huge fan of games. I think it’s so cool to be able to live many lives and go on adventures with people. What I need from video games has changed. I’ve been gaming since I was eleven. When I was a bit younger, I found a lot of online friends and belonging in these worlds. I think I also learned most of my English from gaming. Now, I feel more at peace in my own skin, my own self, and in the world. The real world is as exciting to me as the gaming world; it’s healthy.

The themes of Sky remind me of the themes in your music. I’m curious about how you connected with Sky and came to work with them.

I connect with the soul of Sky: Children of the Light. It’s about connection and feeling at home—like you belong somewhere. I know many of the people who play Sky play it for this reason. The spiritual side of it; death, to me, is a very spiritual thing. It’s inevitable, and it colors the way we live our lives because we know it’s going to end, and that loving comes with loss. It’s just the entire soul of the game. I have a love for the people who play Sky and the creators behind it. They’re a beautiful, beautiful couple [Jenova Chen and his partner]. It’s impossible to not want to be included in what they create when you meet them. The first thing I did for them was a few years ago — the intro for the game and the ending song. I met them on tour, I think. They said hi, talked about their connection to me and how they think I would fit into this game. It was just us meeting. It was meant to be. I love them, and they love me. It’s based on nothing else: They are people, and I am people, and we like each other, and then we want to do something together. It’s very organic, this collaboration.

I wanted there to be someone to help in each song and chapter. There’s this reminder that you must help each other out, be good to each other, and then help yourself. I talked about what colors I think my songs have, and we chose the songs together, songs we felt had enough darkness and light. I figured out which characters and which small story fit with each song. We talked about it together and sent emails until we were happy. It’s been a very easy collaboration because we agree so much on most everything.

Everyone’s going to be able to have a part in making magic. I think it’s going to be an emotional, beautiful moment for all of us. I’m very excited about it — I love the people. It’s very much about how you experience it and how it makes you feel. It’s a very individual thing, but I hope it’s going to feel like we’re a big family even though we’re all playing it from different corners of the world. I hope there will be a moment of true connection with all of us sitting in our homes and being lonely, but lonely together, which is very cool.

You’ve spoken at length about the title of your latest album, The Gods We Can Touch (2022), and the inspiration of Greek mythology. What happened in the space between your two most recent albums? What were you thinking about and researching in the quiet?

A

For my first album, I had space from people because I spent a lot of time alone in my house writing those songs. My second album was very full of people. It became more political because there were things I was discovering as a traveling human being, wanting to use my voice, wanting to make good warriors of light of myself and my fans. With this album, I had a break again. The biggest core of this album is playful, childish, but also divine and kind of grand. It talks a lot about religious, God-like images.

The album’s about this issue I have with modern religion, which is very modern because it hasn’t even existed for a smidgen of time. I wonder why we removed God from the earth, from ourselves, from the water, from things we could touch, and put him up in the sky far away and let him, or her, judge us for who we are. The Bible says a lot of things, and it’s up to every person who reads it to use it, hopefully in the best way they can. But when mixed with power, and the potential of having power by the way you interpret a book written by people you don’t know, there’s a lot of risk there. People have found weakness and exploited it. It’s a conundrum for the history of mankind and how we live now: what’s happening in Iran, women’s abortion rights, the way we turn against ourselves and against women again, the way that we go back and forth, in and out of progress as we please. Well, we don’t; but it seems that many of the men who rule the world choose to, and they drag us with them. It’s a complicated life, a complicated world, and this album is me just dealing with all of that, trying to remain free and playful within all the mess of how it is to be a human.

I think as long as we keep our inner child untouched as much as we can, as long as we don’t give anyone space or permission to touch what is inside of our soul, we’ll be okay. You see a lot of progress. You see people raising their voices for good for each other. There’s a lot of beauty that blossoms out of what happens in the world.

I'm glad you mentioned how important it is to maintain our inner children, that sense of self, as truthfully as we can.

The world can do a lot to us. It can hurt us in many ways. But our soul, our mind, is ours entirely, and can never be sold. It gives me strength, at least in moments, to think about what I do carry in me. We even carry the possibility of life within us, not because we should do it or have to do it, but just because we are a magical bridge between life and not existing, between new life and the world. We are walking portals. It doesn’t surprise me that the world is scared of that. It’s incredibly magical.

I do have hope for the planet, for the world, as long as we don’t get too overstimulated by the internet. As long as we remember that we do exist here together and that our ability to care goes beyond just the people we know. We are all here together. It’s a very Western-world idea to only care about your own cloud. The world is hard to understand, but luckily I can make albums and try to understand it a bit better for myself.

3 fascinating things happen on our life journey that are integral parts of our soul path.

AWAKENING

At some point in our life our soul stirs and we have an awakening. Our consciousness lifts. We start to realize there is something deeper, more meaningful, more divine and more infinite about who we are and what life is.

This will often send us on a path of spiritual growth, personal growth, and faith based living.

On the deep dive to explore all things spiritual and personal growth, it is almost inevitable that we begin to see things about ourselves and our life that do NOT work, that we don't like, things that we want to evolve beyond. 

That might include things like conditioning, limiting beliefs, fears, past pain and trauma, and societal norms. 

DISSOLUTION

And there is a very healthy, natural and important part of this evolutionary process whereby we "rub off the rough edges" of our small self. We seek to go beyond our ego, we want to rise above our mind noise, we want to go deeper into who we really are, and to transcend. We dissolve that which is not true about our core divine nature.

This process is magical, alchemical, beautiful and also can be very painful, confronting and sticky!

We are designed to let go of all that we are NOT, so we can find who we really are. It's natural to lose yourself (the parts that don't serve you), to find yourself (the true authentic soul Self you are). 

Unfortunately there is a trap that is common to fall into, in self help, personal growth, self improvement, spiritual development.... which is that we can get STUCK looping inside the "fixing myself" and "fixing my life" mode.

And... as we dissolve what we don't like or want to keep inside of us, we can also accidentally, at the very same time, start to lose all the parts of us that are soulful, vibrant, expressive and true!  

REBIRTH & RECLAMATION

We are are designed to awaken, dissolve what no longer serves us, and then... REBIRTH and RECLAIM our full divine power and bring forth the fullness of our soul Self.

We are not designed to stay down in the dissolution phase.

Intuition is often thought of as this magical, amazing voice that delivers wonderful news and messages about our short-term or immediate future. This is what many believe in the early and middle stages of the spiritual journey. It is true, partially. Through your intuition you can sense beautiful things coming into your life. However, as life moves forward, another greater truth is unveiled - Intuition delivers the messages that the person needs to be aware of; whether they are simple, complex, sad, shocking, happy, annoying or affirming. Because intuition is a tool of the soul, intervening for the highest good of the person, no matter how uncomfortable or painful it is. The messages of intuition may happen more or less frequently. Your intuition always knows something that you have no conscious awareness of. It is meant to help you solve all kinds of situations and to protect you from all harm. Think about something as simple as food. Your intuition will know way before you consciously do whether it is the right food for you in that moment and whether it can be eaten safely. You may or may not get to "see what you hadn't seen with your eyes", in other words, confirm what your intuition was saying. It is important to accept your intuitive nudges, whatever they say, beyond what you can consciously perceive through your senses or understand through your knowledge. Right now, the energies are guiding you to connect with reality. It is a moment to take off the blindfold, appreciate and accept things as they are.
