(I'm on hiatus shh I'm so totally not here) Jim Lake Jr. is not... fantastic with kids. At least, not the really little ones. But he tries. And sometimes, it leads to a lot of fun! Jane is one such kid that he likes to think he gets along with well. Hopefully, that is, seeing as how he's holding out a paper towel tube for her, with one of his own in his other hand. "Come on, Jane! We have some monsters to battle!" He points to an obstacle course of cardboard cutouts. They're so going down.

JANE WEARS HER KNIGHT'S-HELM SWEATSHIRT, which isn't as comfortable as her onesie but far easier to wear when running around in the California spring. And while she doesn't know if she's skilled in the art of paper-tube-sword-fighting, there's no time to waste. There are real physical cardboard monsters in front of her, and a brave knight never shirks their duty of defending the world from evil.

She takes the offered weapon from Jim's hand with a glowing smile. "Onward, Sir Jim!" she proclaims, and bends her knees, ready to rush in on his signal and take down the enemy.

Steve and Eddie having to drive the kids somewhere and since there’s nine of them in total, ten if Robin is tagging along, they have to take two cars so obviously the ones with actual licenses have to drive. And Eddie is immediately like “I’ll take the boys, you can take the girls” but starts to doubt his decision right away because uhm why does Steve seem so happy about that?

Eddie really thinks it would be easier this way. I mean he knows most the boys little better and. They’re all guys? Nerdy guys too. He can handle them. Steve can try to deal with the girls. Like Robin is a force to be reckoned with and he has to have Max AND Erica in the car with him as well ? With the addition of a girl with actual super powers? Yeah sure Eddie is the one who’s gonna have it easy…

Or so he thinks. He just forgot to take into account the fact that the girls? They all get along just fine. Meanwhile the boys? Sure they are best friends but they can have a debate over EVERYTHING. And they will too.

This would be most hilarious comedy scene honestly. Showing Steve and the girls in the car. The music is nice and everything is calm and they’re all smiling and having fun. Switching to Eddie and the boys and it’s all heavy metal and screaming and rage and something might be on fire too- and cut back to Steve and girls and they’re just happily singing along their pop tunes.

Eddie is gonna need a vacation after this car trip.

Tim has brought Jane a book of very nice, glittery 3-D stickers, in a variety of shapes and themes, from bugs to flowers to ducks, and a new, very lovely crown, befitting royalty.

"Happy birthday, Janey! I love you!"

belated baby birthday time!

She looks at the stickers with eyes as wide as dinner plates, trying to look at them all at once and running her hands over the shapes. In the end, she affixes the crown to her head and leaps up into Tim's arms, shouting, "Thank you, thank you, thank you thank you!" Her sticker album will be full in a week.

I’m very serious when I say that never in the past centuries of Beauty and The Beast getting retold and rebranded over and over and OVER again, has so much originality and GUTS and depth as Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth as a romance arc. And I fear it will take years for me to find a much better version(s) than them.

I’m a longtime BaTB enjoyer. And this argument includes my favorite classic Jane Eyre and Hades and Persephone myth, Howls’ moving Castle (and Goblin!)

Like really, WHOSE doing like Jaime and Brienne?! Who has the guts making both of the leads of the arc simultaneously the beauty AND the beast? And instead of them ‘trapped’ in a cursed castle or them ‘break’ the curse by ‘true love’, they’re trapped in the societal norm and GENDER norms and oath AND Knighthood and trapped by people they love deeply because they always been someone who loves MORE. The curse will be broken when they let themselves free from it by THEMSELVES after inspired EACHOTHER!!!

And having the woman canonically the ugly one with beautiful interior and the man is beautiful but ugly inside?! And both of them very complex individuals with so much depth and nuance…

and Brienne’s past with roses and Jaime getting called the Lion of Lannister… I love literature EXACTLY.
