I’m updating my blog’s header and profile picture. I’ve come up with a handful of trash related designs and need help deciding which to use!

To elaborate on the options:

tinkaton’s hammer will be full of fandom’s that are falling out and markpeko wants to eat them; potentially there will be other pokemon hanging around picking up fandoms that fall out.

xie lian will be mostly inside the trashcan also filled with fandom nonsense while mu qing and feng xin are trying to yank him out and hua cheng will be in the background cheering xie lian on as all good husbands are known to do

wei wuxian is being fished out of the trash like a feral raccoon by lan zhan and lan qiren is in the background telling him to put it back where it came from because it probably has rabies or something while lan xichen uses the distraction to sneak away with his own trash gremlin jin guangyao

Yes, this is the sword Wei Wuxian stuck up his ass in the Incense Burner Extra. It’s also Lan Wangji’s main weapon that was included in the iconic “Lan Wangji calling Wei Wuxian his scene” where Wei Wuxian believes he’s pointing toward Bichen (Chapter 31). It’s a legend, and I would be doing a disservice to Jin Guangyao (who Bichen defeated in the first round of the Danmei Character Tournament) if I did not include it.

E-ming is the best boy. Hua Cheng forged his saber when he was defending humans who got caught in the middle of a big ghost battle for dominance, essentially. He dug out his cursed red eye and created E-ming from it. So his eye is on the pommel of the sword, right in the center above the handle, and it emotes!! When its happy, the eye curves into a crescent and it vibrates!!! It cries when Hua Cheng is mean to it in a fucked up sense of self loathing since his sword is born from him!! E-ming grows bigger when Xie Lian(Hua Cheng's god and eventual husband) kisses the blade, because silly erection joke! But also it begs Xie Lian for praise and attention because its BEST. BOY. Oh and I guess also the entirety of the heavens fears the cursed blade E-ming, which has the power to reopen any wounds its made an on an individual before. Just the thought of E-ming makes gods shake in their boots. But more importantly, he's best boy.

Ruoye - Xie Lian’s spiritual device (TGCF)

Ruoye is technically a demonic weapon or whatever as it doesn't need spiritual power to control, but that also might just be because it's sentient and has a will of it's own but is deeply loyal to Xie Lian obviously. Ruoye can extend REALLY far!!! And he can form protection barriers, and decapitate zombies, and chop vegetables. There's nothing this good bandage baby can't do!! Peak performance! AND it'll pretend to do a snake dance while Xie Lian plays an instrument while busking!! Isn't that adorable! Xie Lian wears it on his wrists usually, and sometimes Ruoye will like tighten or rub his wrists to express fear or comfort Xie Lian and its so cute. Ruoye is so good. Personally I think despite Ruoyes background being like. Horribly tragic, thats what makes it so Good. All that pain and suffering made this thing that ended up protecting Xie Lian all these 800 years. But I left it last in case it's too much.  (tw suicide mention) Ruoye was created after being soaked in Xie Lian's blood when it was used to tie him up while various people stabbed him with a sword a hundred times. Then when he was able to return home, it was used by his parents to kill themselves for a variety of reasons we won't get into. Then, upon finding them, he tried to kill himself too. But his cursed shackles prevented his mortal body from dying, so when he died he just came back; he came back to a silk bandage that after taking the life of 2 royals, and being soaked in the blood of a royal and former god and stuff, it came to life!! With resentment technically. But he's a good boy.

Bu’gui [“No Return”] / Guilai [“To Return”] from 2ha

“No Return… Affairs of the past upon vermillion bridge in emerald green; Another year goes but still you do not return.” - Chapter 81 

Bu’gui was Mo Ran’s sword in the original timeline that he received by bringing a plum blossom branch to an old dragon named Wangyue. He had Chu Wanning seal it until he could think of a name for it, and it was only named “No Return” after Chu Wanning’s death.

In the second lifetime, he received Jiangui instead, but Bu’gui appeared once more at Xuanyuan Pavilion and was auctioned off to the Rufeng Sect for 5 million; this time it was referred to as Guilai or “To Return.”

Longcheng / Dragon City - Xue Meng’s sword from 2ha

Since Xue Meng could not receive a holy weapon from Jincheng Lake, he used Longcheng, a high-quality scimitar from Taxue Palace. From what I remember, Mo Ran gifted him the Wangshu Crystal from the Carp Essence that was requested by Song Qiutong to help him cultivate/add to his sword, making it something similar to a “heavenly weapon.”

While this fan is never named, Xue Zhengyong’s fan is well-known due to the writing on it - “Xue is beautiful” (which faces others) and “others are ugly” (which faces him). It really is iconic

Suibian is Wei Wuxian’s sword that sealed itself after his death. Its name translates to “Whatever” due to Wei Wuxian’s inability to think of a suitable name and telling Jiang Fengmian to name it “whatever.” This is, in my opinion, the funniest thing Jiang Fengmian has ever done in his life

Zidian - Jiang Cheng/Madam Yu's whip (MDZS)

The Jiang Clan’s family heirloom that transforms from a ring into a whip. It was originally used by Madam Yu until her death when she (and separately her husband) used it to bind and protect Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian from the invading Wens. 

A symbol of family and honor given from Madam Yu to Jiang Cheng, Zidian’s owner can allow others to use it, as shown by Jiang Fengmian realizing Zidian recognized him before his and Madam Yu’s death and Jiang Cheng leaving Zidian with Jin Ling.

Notes on the rape tag: I'm tagging it this for two reasons. One is that two of the characters have experienced violent rape in the past, and while it *probably* won't come up in any explicit detail in this fic but it very much does in the series as a whole and may be referenced. The second reason is that while it doesn't happen on-screen in this installment of the series, one of the main conflicts of this series has been Jin Ling's deception of Jiang Cheng while they are in a relationship, causing them to breakup at the end of the last (already published) fic when Jiang Cheng discovers that he'd intentionally withheld information about himself to keep Jiang Cheng from finding out that their relationship is incestuous because he does not want him to reject him for this reason as the Jiang Cheng in Jin Ling's timeline had (temporarily). Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng getting back together in this installment involves Jiang Cheng forgiving him for rape by deception and while it's not explicitly spelled out as that I think it deserves a warning. Jin Ling's actions aren't *intentionally* malicious, they're driven by fear, loneliness and selfishness, but he sure does know he's doing a bad thing and rationalizes it away until Jiang Cheng is very, very obviously and badly hurt by it.

Summary: This fic is the 5th installment of a series (first 4 are already published here: https://archiveofourown.org/series/2835754) in which a 40yo, very powerful Jin Ling time travels to the past to prevent some terrible things. Something goes wrong, he arrives years later than he meant to and gets stranded, and decides to build a life for himself and fix what he still can.

He keeps his identity a secret, joins the Jiang sect, and enters into an incestuous relationship with Jiang Cheng, his uncle, who in this world is younger than him and has absolutely no idea they're related, as Jin Ling himself has not yet been born.

He does his best to keep his loved ones from befalling the same fates as before, to varying levels of success, and spends years living this new life.

In the last installment Jin Ling convinces Jiang Cheng and Jin Guangyao to marry to keep the latter safe. Jiang Cheng discovers who Jin Ling actually is and breaks off their relationship, kicking him out, telling him he needs space to decide if he even wants to speak to him again. Jin Ling leaves, and Jiang Cheng decides to go through with the marriage to Jin Guangyao anyway.

This last installment is focused on the romantic relationship developing between Jiang Cheng and Jin Guangyao as they plan their wedding, and Jiang Cheng's lingering/Jin Guangyao's budding feelings for Jin Ling, who is trying to find a way back to his original timeline, since he is no longer wanted in this one.

- Jiang Cheng is not spoiled or abusive, his inability to process emotions come from a shitty upbringing due to manipulative parents who did not favor him but had high expectations of him + he's a great character

- Jin Guangyao was right to absolutely loathe his father and do everything he can to kill him instead of trying to talk to him or wtv else ppl say

- Song Lan should've left XueXiao alone, he had no valid reason ruining what they had

- Lan Qiren deserves no rights. I hate it when people even consider that he would ever be a doting uncle or accept WangXian

Watching The Untamed, I think it was actually amusing my bestie how much I was agreeing with Wei Wuxian on things.

And a lot of what Wei Wuxian did, he was backed into a corner. He had no other choice.

And I still want to personally throttle Sect Leader Yao for his spending sixteen years badmouthing Wei Wuxian and believing lies about him and then having the GALL to turn around and ask Wei Wuxian for help in taking down Jin Guangyao. The only one who had ANY right to ask Wei Wuxian for any kind of help was Nie Huaisang and if you disagree, you can bite me.

Jiang Cheng is not spoiled or abusive, his inability to process emotions come from a shitty upbringing due to manipulative parents who did not favor him but had high expectations of him + he's a great character

I would like to preface this with an apology, in case it sounds like Jiang Yanli ghost-wrote some of this. For the record, I am the oldest of three siblings and I am the only girl and I see a LOT of my youngest brother in Jiang Cheng.

Jiang Cheng is another unfortunate product of a kind of broken household. His parents, at one point, did love each other. I believe they were happily married when Yanli was born.

Poor A-Cheng was probably born when his parents were starting to drift apart. Maybe he was born to try and save their marriage? ("If I can give him a son, maybe he'll stop thinking of his ex girlfriend?")

And then A-Xian comes along. A-Cheng is forced to give up his dogs because A-Xian is scared of them. Furthermore, he gets another sibling and he's...still the youngest? That's not how this is supposed to work! A-Cheng was here first! Why is A-Xian taking precedence over him?! And to make matters even worse, A-Xian is the son of Dad's ex-girlfriend. Way to make A-Cheng feel even lower than he no doubt already does.

A-Cheng is also highly HIGHLY competitive. (This is the part where I start seeing my youngest brother in him) He absolutely suffers from "third child syndrome" - the older two siblings get all the privileges, they're so far ahead of me I'll never catch up, mom and dad clearly love them more because they get to do all this cool stuff and I don't, etc.

Add into that emotional conspitation and a lack of communication skills and BAM. You've got Jiang Cheng.

Absolutely tragic character. He needs so many fucking hugs. And to be loved.

Jin Guangyao was right to absolutely loathe his father and do everything he can to kill him instead of trying to talk to him or wtv else ppl say

So I put this one as neutral because while I do agree, Jin Guangyao was absolutely right to loathe his father (I mean...who wouldn't? If your father was the Whore of Lanling, you'd probably hate him too.)

I feel like you're missing something.

Jin Guangyao didn't just jump straight to patricide. He did try to get on his father's good side. He did want his father's approval. His father was just too much of a stuck up cock-sucking molting peacock to give it to him.

Jin Guangyao only turned to murder when Guangslut said that Meng Shi, Jin Guangyao's mother, never mattered.

It was the blantant insult on Guangyao's mother that was the final nail in Guangslut's coffin.

Song Lan should've left XueXiao alone, he had no valid reason ruining what they had

And while I'm not overly fond of Song Lan, Song Lan did deserve a chance to apologize to Xiao Xingchen for what he did to him.

Lan Qiren deserves no rights. I hate it when people even consider that he would ever be a doting uncle or accept WangXian

I agree on Lan Qiren would never fully accept WangXian. Qiren absolutely hates Wuxian. And I don't actually see him being a doting anything - father, uncle, grandfather...

But I don't feel that he deserves no rights. I mean...he's never been cruel to Lan Sizhui. Hell, I'd be willing to bet he's accepted Sizhui as a Lan, and continues to accept Sizhui as a Lan even if he did find out about Sizhui being a Wen or being Wuxian's son.

Lan Qiren is a curmudgeon who's stuck in his ways and at this point is probably surviving purely out of spite.

Leave the man alone. XD

It's from a petname I got from friends years ago, and it's my pseudonym across most of the internet.

Yes, made pretty recently to put my silly JC non-sense (@bruised-lotus)

I checked and my first reblog is from 2012, so at least 9 years already wow... And I made it about a year or two before that.

I do, but mostly because I used to see people do it and like to have punny tags (mine is Queue sera sera, so it's not groundbreaking either lol)

5. why did you start your blog in the first place?

I was starting to get into j-pop and j-dramas fandoms which had me seeking more English speaking communities, and things were starting to migrate from lj to here already (also tumblr had the like button that allowed me to just... make a list of pics and gifs I could easily revisit).

6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?

I love Mimi Cracra, she was one of my favorite heroine when I was a child (she is messy! She loves water! She's still as relatable as when I was five).

7. why did you choose your header?

This one I had to check because I only have one on mobile… I just wanted something purple-ish and I had a pic of those flowers in my camera so there it went.

Hum I think it’s a sort of tie between Jiang Cheng and Jin Guangyao co-parenting baby Jin Ling and the guys from Julie and the Phantoms far ahead anything else I ever posted.

Too much most certainly. The only constant is that I tend to check my dash every morning until the last post I stopped at the day before.

No. I disagree with tons of things, but most of the time I am not comfortable enough to go say nice things to people, so I am definitely not going to start a fight with people I don't know. Most I do is unfollow/block.

Yes! I like filling them, and I really really like reading people's answers (I am, generally speaking, an extremely curious person).
