Why kill Tim when you could kill baby Jason? What I want is for all of them to keep their own backstories and personalities (Developed in line with the story of course) So ofc i had to write a 1,000 word brainrot abt it.

(Also i'll only be going over the main 4 batbros for now i will add more later but these guys are the ones im most passionate about so here we go)

Damian

Let Damian come in, desperate to be of use and be worthy of his father, only for a softer, less jaded bruce (since jason hasnt died yet) to help him open up his heart and let him act as a kid. With no competition for so long, I imagine he and Bruce get along very well while he works with him. Yeah, they need to work on the no killing deal and Damian's... i guess impulse control? But i think it would be easier with very intensely focused reparenting; no distractions of other kids you know? No favoring or anything.

I see Damian growing up as a stoic, jaded adult. He's had a rough life. Maybe he sticks with the vigilante business. but I really love headcanons where he gets out of it, and focuses on something calmer, like his art. (I do appreciate and love the veterinarian Damian AUs, but im going for FULL calmness, you know? And doctor/vet work is Not calm lol)

So yeah, maybe he grows a real passion for heroism, maybe he doesn't? Maybe he goes on to be an artist and that's just what he does. Bro is ready to settle down as a scarred, veteran trophy husband and i adore him for that.

(Sorry lol i just love Damian and i love the idea of him growing out of both of his parent's legacies. Let him live his own life!!! He fights so so hard for at least 15 years. ALL 15 years of his life. He deserves to have some peace.)

Tim

Tim i think would need a much different story to join the Batfam. He still starts out as a stalker who follows batman and. . . . . . . Redimar (meaning Redemption iykyk (I just spend 17min researching names rip)) at night, takes photos, etc... Since Damian doesn't die, maybe he finds Tim? and like, tim is like 11 and Damian is 17 or 18. He's started going out as Redimar less and less, not that B really minds? In fact hes probably happy for his son so...

But then Damian finds Tim, and now he has to keep going out because he can't let this kid get himself killed like this. He would hold himself accountable since hes the only reason Tim keeps going out so much- also i imagine Tim follows Redimar more than Batman.

Cue a classic Tim Joining The Batfam plotline. They get to know each other better, get a grasp on Tim's situation, Damian finally introduces Tim to Bruce... (Probably something like Dami: "Father, this is my new brother. Timothy, say hello to Father," Tim: "Hello, Father," Dami: "Perfect." Bruce: "*falls off the batchair*)

Anyway, so, Tim ends up kinda just merging with the Waynes. They start training him, its all good and nice, and Tim makes his own little hero team unlike Damian, which is actually pretty interesting here; its Tim who made the first young hero team. Damian only ever had Jon (Superboy 1 in this!!) and he finds Young Just Us and becomes a great leader and its all fine and dandy.

Tim and Damian get along well. Damian is the sage older brother whos kinda distant, but only because he has such high emotional walls (but secretly a softy). He is very much like Bruce- nope, nevermind, hes definitely worse than Bruce in this AU, since Bruce is depicted as being much more agreeable before Jason's death, you know? So yeah, Damian is the emotionally constipated bitch in the fam and we love him for that. But hey!! Tim does manage to get through his walls! And Bruce does sometimes too!! (Tho i imagine Bruce and Damian's relationship to be very.. idk let me try to expalain. Dami: "Father." Bruce: "Son :)" Dami: "Tt." Bruce: *nods* "Hrn." Dami: "Hmph." Bruce: "Hm.") DO U PICK UP WHAT IM PUTTING DOWN--- lmfao. They hardly need words.

Tim ends up growing up very very capable. Once his parents die, he gets a little jaded, but hes still Tim. He and Damian become kind of an... ice prince duo? If you get what I mean. But Tim is the one whos actually the ice prince, Damian is secretly a HUGE softie. He is Delicate and Tim protects him lmfao.

Jason

Jason comes along like he does in canon. Has the same backstory. Tries to steal the Batmobile's wheels. Tim is sleeping over at Damian's flat for the night, so its just Bruce. They bond. Shit happens. Jason joins the fam.

I don't imagine them not getting along, but they don't immediately hit it off either. Jason is wary of all of them for a time, but he ends up warming up to Damian pretty fast after realizing what a softie he is. He pokes fun at Damian and Damian just freaking takes it lmao. Hes an adult he cannot be disturbed. Bro has seen too much and he finds Jason adorable. (Dami: "You were never this cute, Timothy." <- he is lying. Tim: *offended* "What the fu- flip!?" Jason: "Lmao Tim just say fuck." Dami: *deadpan stare* Tim: "JASON NO DONT SAY THE FUCK WORD-") ahem.

anywho and then Jason dies rip skill issue ratio.

The whole batfam is heartbroken. Genuinely shattered. Jason was a light in their lives. Not that they were WITHOUT any light, but Jason was the epitome of a sunshine child.

It's been too long since Damian has killed someone. Bro's god oodles and oodles of trauma. He can't bring himself to kill the Joker.

but Tim can.

It's a whole dramatic thing; Damian feels awful that he made his- now only- little brother kill. Bruce is hella upset but feels responsible for not seeing how badly both of his kids were handling the death of their brother. Tim goes a little off the deep end.

Things turn out.... okay. sort of. but not really. Tim changes his hero name to Red Cardinal. He feels pretty lost. Maybe he stumbles into Ra's al Ghul or smthn idk maybe smthn happens there perhaps. Maybe Damian has to put on Redimar again and rescue him? But its less of a rescue and more of a "Stop joining the dark side Tim jesus christ-" (and it does work).

They go home. Tim gets a boyfriend or two. Damian falls into his art. Bruce is throwing himself into work. They're all kind of a mess, but they keep moving.

and then

Dick

ahem; and then the circus comes to town. The batfam- well, Tim, Damian, and Bruce- all decide to get together to do something fun. Take the opportunities given, yk? So they go to the circus together.

Wham bam rip the falling Flying Graysons.

They see Dick, breaking apart, and they know they have to do something. Bruce is the first to move. Then Tim. Damian is the last.

It's pretty quick getting Dick home, since Bruce is already a foster parent cuz of Tim yk. So Dick doesn't have to suffer in Juvie at all really. But that doesn't change the fact that he is ANGRY.

Dick is SO angry. he wants to kill the person who murdered his parents. He knows what he saw.

The fam of course do their best to investigate. Mostly Tim, who feels unworthy of being around an innocent little kid after his whole.... villain era, i suppose lol. (ofc Dick thinks Tim doesnt like him lol misunderstanding arc GO)

The whole "Dick accepts that justice is better than murder kinda maybe FOR NOW" storyline happens, and Dick becomes the conniving, bright, little Robin we all know and love. (Thinking of the Young Justice Cartoon Robin (but not the characters- just Dick's character) aaaand

When John got home, he found you in the kitchen.

Quiet music hummed through the speaker on your phone as you worked on serving two big plates of food like you had predicted his arrival. You greeted him with a grin as you gestured to the food in front of you on the island, proud of your work. Its fragrant aroma was mouth watering, almost to the point he found it difficult to think about anything other than eating. Your smile was contagious and John found himself chuckling as he approached the other side of the island.

"What's all this?" he asked.

"Dinner, of course," you replied.

John scoffed slightly at his rather poorly worded question and your cheeky response. "Alright, well what's the occasion?"

"No occasion," you said. "You've been at work all day, and I felt like cooking, so..." You paused to pick up one of the plates and held it out for him to take. "Dinner!"

In the last few months that you had been staying with him, you had cooked plenty of times, but never anything quite like that. A part of you felt a little guilty for not being able to show your appreciation as much as you wanted to, for taking you in and keeping a roof over your head, but more often than not he wouldn't allow it. There were few chores he would allow you to do as a guest in his home, and if you wanted to cook or clean for him, you often had to do it under his nose when he wasn't home.

And still, instead of telling you how you didn't have to do all that, how you didn't have to waste your evening cooking a lavish meal, he took it without complaint and allowed you to lead him into the living room. That evening was full of good food, a very expensive wine that you attempted to convince John not to open but he did anyway, and an old slasher film that was more humorous than it was unsettling.

Something was different about that night. Maybe it was the wine, or maybe it was something else, but you seemed to smile and laugh more than you had for the last few weeks. And you were beautiful. The way the dim glow of the TV illuminated your face as you took a sip of wine, the way you laughed and pointed at the screen when one of the characters died; you were perfect.

"Thank you. For taking care of me," you suddenly spoke up.

John had stared at you for so long he didn't even realize that the movie was over, but you didn't seem to mind his unwavering gaze. Yet he was a bit confused by your sudden comment. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was the truth, but he felt like he didn't deserve it.

"Your gratitude is wasted on someone like me," he muttered, eyes refusing to leave your face.

"What makes you say that?" you asked.

"I'm not a good man."

"I know."

While it wasn't the answer he expected, John was glad you knew that much about him at least. He gave you a breathy laugh as he looked down at the remaining wine left in his glass. The dark red liquid swirled around as he leaned forward to place it on the coffee table.

"How do you know?" he questioned, hoping you would indulge him.

"I've always known," you said as if it was obvious. "If you were a good man, you'd be dead by now. Good men don't live long in your line of work."

"So you've known I'm a bad man this whole time?"

The expression on your face contorted and it wasn't long before your hand rested on his arm. He didn't dare look down to where your fingers brushed against his skin because he feared you would retract if he did, like someone who didn't want to get bitten by a dog.

"You're not a bad man," you retorted as if the very thought had offended you.

"How do you know?" John challenged.

"Because you are kind."

In that moment, John swore he had always known you, and maybe he did. He had known you as the chief's daughter when he was a child. He had known you and your laughter as you sat next to him in maths as a teen. You had always been there, lingering in the back of his mind, finding him when he least expected it.

So when you leaned into him, he didn't stop you. And he didn't stop you when your hands rested on his chest, or when your lips pressed against his. In fact, he savored every moment of it. Your skin on his, your teeth sinking into his flesh; it all felt so familiar like your body was the only one he had ever held that way.

It all happened so fast he felt dizzy, but all John knew was that when he saw you laid out naked on his bed there was nothing in the world that would ever take you from him. He couldn't stop the way his lips were drawn to your chest where he kissed a gentle trail between your breasts and down to your navel. He couldn't stop the way his mouth latched onto your cunt like it was the only sustenance he would need for the rest of his life.

sorry if someone’s asked this before (i tried looking thru previous posts but didn’t see anything), but in modern au atla what clubs and/or sports would everyone join? i feel like sokka and suki would both do soccer (and thus sokka’s sexism storyline plays out) and sokka would also do like robotics or something. katara’s maybe in some environmentalist club and i get the feeling that she and azula would run against each other for student body president. zuko’s a theater kid and mai does tech or stage crew. toph does wrestling and aang’s probably in basketball and/or one of those peer leader things where he volunteers to help out in classrooms

okay some of this will be rehashing old stuff so if you’re as intimately familiar with my modern au as i am (which. how. that’s literally impossible) then this will be old news to you but just try to suck it up kthx

also, quick disclaimer that i do not think sokka would be sexist (not like, notably so anyway, obv everyone raised in a patriarchal society internalizes sexist notions, but he wouldn’t be like “girls can’t play soccer!!!” lmfao) in a modern au. like, if sokka grew up socialized around kids his own age that simply would not be an issue for him. the closest he gets to ever pissing katara off thru misogyny (he still pisses her off in a lot of other ways, of course) is when katara is like “can you believe this ‘male loneliness epidemic’ bs???” and sokka (terminally offline) is just like “well isn’t there kind of some truth in that…” and katara’s like “sokka. this isn’t about guys whose girlfriends have DIED, this is about guys whose vibes are so rancid that they cannot get a gf in the first place.” and sokka just like “oh. well then i guess they deserve to be lonely.” and that’s that.

katara is the queen of after school activities. she plays soccer, hockey, basketball (she’s not actually tall enough but she’s got enough spirit!), is on the swim team, she does it all. she’s the captain of the hockey team, but suki is the captain of the soccer team. azula is also on the soccer team and suki is constantly having to separate them bc they’re always getting into very violent fights in the dirt before the game even starts. katara prides herself on being the most athletic girl in school (aside from suki), and pushes herself so hard to be the best at every single sport. (for no reason in particular…)

when toph wants to start a wrestling club, katara is the one who starts a petition after the administration says it’s “too dangerous.” because aang asks nicely, they finally get enough signatures that the administration is just like “fine, whatever,” and gives them a room. for the first few meets, it’s just katara and toph wrestling each other with aang and suki sitting in the stands and that’s it, but eventually more people show up and it becomes a whole big thing. no one is as good as katara and toph, though. especially not when they fight each other (bc for them, it’s personal).

when azula runs for student body president, katara gets so pissed off that she also runs for student body president. toph’s just like “uhh.. no one will vote for you. everyone finds you abrasive.” and katara’s like “wow. that’s rich coming from you.” but toph’s like “no they hate me too, that’s how i know.” which, okay, fair enough. katara does actually win in a landslide though, because azula’s platform is bonkers. her campaign promises are all about improving test scores and gpas in somewhat violatory and terrifying ways, whereas katara’s platform is to abolish homework, abolish grades, make gym class a triple period, abolish math, and put a composting bin in the cafeteria. only one of those things actually happens once she gets elected, but at least the other kids can rest easy knowing that their president is a girl of the people.

katara is in a bunch of activist clubs that she started herself, and the only reason anyone ever shows up is because aang always shows up and everyone loves aang. toph shows up to katara’s indigenous students alliance and katara’s just like “uhhh…. i thought you were chinese??” toph’s like “oh. i am. but sokka promised he’d do all my homework for a week if i agreed to take his place at this thing.”

aang kind of just shows up to whatever katara is up in arms about this week. he can’t be bothered to join after school activities of his own because he’s too busy being a cool and popular kid (a very time consuming profession fyi), but he always shows up to every one of katara’s games (of which there is at least one a week), and all her little clubs and fundraisers for the poor (aang is almost always tactful enough to never say “um. aren’t you poor?”) and whatever else she needs him around for. every time aang is sick or otherwise indisposed, whenever katara attempts to organize anything, no one ever shows up. aang doesn’t even do anything in particular, he kind of just hovers near her, but his presence is like a magnet. people flock to him. katara, not so much.

sokka is actually on the baseball team. he joined after accidentally watching a full game of baseball on tv once in a doctor’s waiting room and realizing that baseball is actually just physics. he’s their star player, because he can score a home run with his eyes closed. if any of his friends ever actually showed up to his games, they’d be wildly impressed. but because katara’s propaganda, that baseball is the most boring of all the sports and who would wanna waste their time watching it, is so effective (because she’s right), no one who actually matters to sokka is in any way aware of his gift. he doesn’t really care, because he thinks sports are frivolous anyway, but it means a lot to katara that no one ever find out that he secretly has athletic talent. he already has ALL of academics, he doesn’t need to encroach on her thing!!! her ONE thing!!!!!

sokka is also in go club, chess club, robotics club, debate club, and mathletes. he also works multiple jobs after school and tutors other kids. no one knows how he has time for all his shit, especially considering he’s also never handed in an assignment late and has a perfect gpa, but whenever he shows them his color coded schedule timed down to the second they immediately regret they ever asked. (his secret is that if he doesn’t exhaust himself both physically and mentally with one million activities per day, he will succumb to his depression and never get out of bed again and possibly kill himself. so whenever anyone’s like “aren’t you tired!!” sokka lies and says “nope!” in truth, he’s exhausted. he just knows it’s wayyy better than the alternative.)

toph first meets sokka as her tutor. she had previously driven 11 other, much more qualified tutors away by being too smart for their bullshit. poppy is desperate by the point she agrees to hire sokka. she basically just needs someone to transcribe toph’s homework for her (and not fall into the trap of simply writing it for her, which she’s very effective at tricking people into doing), but sokka and toph quickly become actual friends. it doesn’t take long, they both just start shit talking her parents and realize that they already have so much in common. sokka still demands to get paid all throughout highschool, but toph knows it’s not personal and never feels like their friendship is transactional. sometimes she does ask sokka to teach her things, though, which he always happily obliges. although, on occasion, she’ll ask him about a subject he doesn’t already know about, at which point he’ll be like “that’s a good question. let me think on it, and i’ll prepare some materials for a lesson plan tomorrow!” at which point he goes to a library, gets a massive textbook on whatever topic toph was interested in, stays up all night reading it, and then comes back the next day and recites the entire book to her from memory. toph usually gets bored after like five minutes of this, but knows she’s in too deep to just say “forget i asked,” and politely waits out his lecture.

besides wrestling club, toph also tries to play soccer (it’s the closest she can get to actually joining the football team, which is her ultimate dream), but the administration forces suki to ban her from the team “for her own safety.” it makes suki furious, because toph is actually an excellent goalie and they’d know that if they ever saw her play, but they assume that because she’s tiny and blind there’s simply no way in hell she’s ever blocking a single goal. but katara is this close to threatening that they burn down the entire school to teach them a lesson, so instead suki’s just like “what if you guys started a wrestling club?? that could be fun.” and thus the highlight of toph (and katara’s) entire life is born.

suki is widely regarded as being one of the most popular girls in school, because she’s incredibly athletic, but also has a very cool, carefree, laidback attitude that doesn’t make her seem intimidating to guys (unlike. uh. some people). every single girl in school, gay or straight, either deeply admires her or straight up has a crush on her. this is why she ever has enough people agreeing to join her roller derby team. sokka comes to a game to support her and is just like “uhhh….. this should be illegal???”

suki also does martial arts after school, although not in any way affiliated with the school. however, they may as well be, because all the girls who are into her will show up to her dojo knowing that she’ll offer to train them in a hands on, personal session. to be clear, she’s fully aware of what she’s doing. it’s basically is her go-to move. when she first develops feelings for sokka she tries to do the same thing, but sokka just assumes that suki is looking to humiliate him as retribution for him knowing how bad at physics she is, and politely declines.

zuko IS a theater kid but throughout all of high school (this changes in college) he’s terrified of ever even glancing at a stage. he’s like “if i join any sort of theatrical project everyone will think im gay……………….which would be BAD because im NOT.” it’s very obvious that he’s an aspiring thespian/dramaturg, though, because every time the school puts on any kind of play all his friends are subjected to merciless critiques of how they’ll inevitably butcher the source material in such and such ways, as they always do. suki finds these diatribes particularly amusing. she’s just like “uh huh. sure honey.”

at one point zuko gets it into his head that if he did mathletes like azula maybe ozai would like him more and thus treat him better, so he asks sokka to teach him to be good at math so that he can be good at mathletes. sokka is like “shouldn’t your first goal be to get better at math so that you can stop getting C’s on all your math tests?” zuko is very stubborn about it, though, so sokka just shows zuko the kind of problems he works on for fun and zuko is immediately like “nvm. maybe i’ll do a sport instead.” sokka’s like “yeah! you could join the baseball team it would be really fun!” but zuko’s like “okay nvm AGAIN. why are all your hobbies boring and evil.”

mai doesn’t do clubs. mai doesn’t play sports. she is a loner, not a joiner. she’s like “maybe if there was a club for cool girls who play niche indie games and read dostoevsky….” but this all changes when sokka forces her to join his robotics club meeting. mai is just like “holy shit? you made this???” and after that day she is the number one robotics girlie and becomes obsessed with those robot death matches. she and sokka waste so much time building the most useless little robots. mai is really good at coding and sokka is really good at engineering, so their robots are actually quite impressive. katara thinks it’s the lamest shit ever, and wishes they’d stop bringing giant pieces of scrap metal into her house.

ty lee does ballet quite intensely and gymnastics fairly competitively outside of school. everyone sort of assumes she’d be a cheerleader if their school had a cheer team, so she gets the reputation of one without having to actually do any of those dangerous stunts. she’s also in go club and chess club. sometimes she and sokka are the only two people who actually show up and they just play one continuous game that lasts for hours. she also joins the roller derby team and suki’s dojo, for no particular reason.

finally, azula does everything. literally everything. even clubs she despises, because her number one goal at all times is someday getting into harvard (and then graduating harvard top of her class and then going to harvard law and then making partner within her first year at a big firm and then becoming queen of all totality). her number two goal is showing up sokka. she plays every sport the school offers, joins every club, volunteers, interns, tutors pro bono (only because she knows that sokka charges, and she wants to rub in his face that she doesn’t need money), takes every language their school offers at once, and demands extra credit homework even though her gpa is already perfect. she’s part of the young republicans but will also canvas for local democratic candidates because she knows that it looks good on an application. besides mai and ty lee, who have known her for long enough that they simply find her antics amusing, no one likes her. many are genuinely terrified of her. sokka, however, does not find her scary at all, a fact which infuriates her to no end. in his mind, she is just zuko’s little sister, that girl katara hates, or, the most annoying girl on the debate team. she fantasizes about murdering him every night before going to bed. it helps her fall asleep.

a/n: i'm a yapper so this is gonna be long LMFAO. honestly i didn't have any specific leon in mind when i wrote this so... anyway i recently gave y'all fluff but i think it's time for angst. this is very heavily inspired by "I Remember Everything" by Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves. even if you don't like country, i'd recommend listening to it while reading this.

Sitting in a dive bar on a Wednesday night had become Leon's sense of normal over the years. It didn’t matter the day actually. If he wasn't on some life threatening mission for the government who didn't care about his well-being, he was at the bar. It was pathetic. He knew that better than anybody. Men his age were married and drinking with their friends. Some had at least two kids by now. He couldn't help but think of how he could have had that with you.

If only he didn't ruin everything he fucking touched. Maybe you both would be happy right now if he hadn't crossed paths with you.

Nursing his whiskey glass, he sipped on the caramel colored liquid. Rot gut whiskey usually helped ease his mind on nights like this. He didn’t enjoy how awful it tasted, but it was his choice of poison. It’s what he deserved, right? The cheap liquor burnt going down, and the aftertaste made him want to gag. Reality had seemed to be the thing he had trouble swallowing the most in the moment.

Memories of you had begun to trickle back into his mind as he continued to drink. Was it too much to ask the universe to cut him some slack for one god damn night? He thought about you enough as it is when he was sober. 

He was specifically thinking about one of the first dates you both had gone on. Driving home in your old pick up truck from the beach with the windows down. Sitting in the passenger seat gave him the best view. The summer breeze danced with your hair as the sun seemed to highlight all of his favorite features on you. Your smile somehow was brighter than the sun as you sang along to some cheesy pop song on the radio. Beautiful wasn’t even a word that could cover how he thought of you in the moment. Emotions he thought he would never feel again overwhelmed him, and before he knew it, warm tears had begun to form in the corner of his eyes.

“Are you crying babe?” You had asked while turning down the radio. Concern was written all over your features. Sometimes you gave him a run for his money with how observant you were. His piercing blue eyes were glossed over before he turned his attention to whatever was passing outside the window. Quickly he cleared his throat as heat creeped up the back of his neck. 

“Yeah. You still got sand in your hair and it blew into my eyes.” Both of you knew it was an excuse, but you didn’t pry any deeper into the subject. You had learned your lesson about trying to make Leon communicate his emotions with you. Besides, he had the mentality that grown men don’t cry. How could he explain that he was crying out of joy and in awe of your beauty? Thinking of explaining that had made him cringe at the time. 

God he used to give you so much shit about that truck. It was on the older side, and he had offered multiple times to get you a new one. But you were too stubborn and would shoot the offer down. That truck was your pride and joy. Now he would give anything to drive around with you in that pick up truck one more time. 

Another memory seemed to taunt him and rub salt into his open wound. Late night talks sitting on your beatdown basement couch together, your head in his lap as he played with your hair. You’d tell him stories about your family, like when your mother had run off from your father and pawned her wedding ring. Something about how she couldn’t take your fathers drinking anymore. His soothing fingers running through your hair would comfort you, and he swore to you that he’d never turn out like that. 

It tore him up to think how he wouldn’t be the man that he always swore to you he would be.

Glass clinking snapped him out of his pity party. Another whiskey glass was in front of him. The bartender gave him a small nod before focusing his attention on another patron. Leon bit the inside of his lip once he realized the man hadn't even had to ask Leon if he wanted another one. He had grown used to Leon's company in that same damn barstool he sat in every time. Knowing that only made Leon sink deeper into his self hatred. His eyes flicked down to the drink before lifting it to his lips, and took another drink. 

The bitter taste of the alcohol paired with a cheesy pop song in the background, the same one you blasted all the time, brought one final bitter memory to him. When he broke up with you, or more like when you broke up with him. Funny enough, it happened right here at the same bar, at the same barstool. He might have been wasted when it happened, but he remembered everything about that night.

You had come into the bar looking for him one night. The bar was almost closed so when he heard the door open, it had caught his attention. The moment his eyes laid eyes on you, he knew he was in deep shit. You were constantly telling him how you refused to step foot in a bar. Going as far to say you’d rather eat glass than be around the smell of alcohol and alcoholics. Normally he’d remind you that not everyone who went to a bar was an alcoholic, but here he was, proving your point. There was practically a trailblaze of fire behind you as you stomped your way toward him. Steam was leaving your ears and he began to mentally prepare himself for what was about to happen.

“What the hell Leon?!” Glaring at him, you crossed your arms. Anger was practically dripping off your tone. Empty glasses were sitting around him. He couldn’t meet your gaze which only pissed you off more. You hadn’t heard from him in days. Three fucking days to be exact. You knew he hadn’t been sent off to do a mission. He would always give you a kiss goodbye and promise he’d make it back to you. Now you were questioning if his promises meant anything.

“Don’t do this here. Just let me finish this drink, and we can go do this.. somewhere else.” His disinterested voice slurred as he traced the rim of his glass. You felt your blood begin to boil. A teensy tiny part of you felt bad for him. Leon had seen horrific things, not that he would give you the full picture of things. It didn’t take a genius to know that Leon was a broken man. But you didn't care about that. 

For the past couple of months, he had been acting cold towards you. Less and less would he tell you how much he loved you. His fuse was shorter with you, and most of the time you guys were arguing about stupid things. It felt like you were constantly walking on eggshells around him. No matter how much you tried to talk to him about the issues in your relationship, he ignored you. Ignorance was bliss was his mindset about things like this. Not to mention, you had noticed he had been drinking more heavily. Stumbling to your place late at night, too drunk to even stand correctly had become something that happened at least three times a week. You couldn’t stand alcohol and he knew it. Not answering you for three days was the final straw for you.

“No, fuck that! We’re gonna do this here,” You slammed your hands down on the bar. For a moment that seemed to have gotten his attention before he returned back to his unbothered facade. Your hands were stinging from how hard you had slammed down.

“You’re drinking everything in sight to ease your mind, but just when the hell are you gonna help ease mine? Do you know how fucking worried I’ve been?!” You yelled at him, clenching your jaw.. Leon rolled his eyes and shook his head. Luckily there was only one person at the bar, the bartender. The bartender took it as a sign to go get more stock.

“Did ya think that maybe you’re the reason I’m drinkin’? All you do is bitch at me all the time. It’s…It’s like nails on a chalkboard every time I hear you talk.” He waved a finger at you. His pupils were dilated, and you could smell the alcohol coming off of him. His drunken words stung, and there was a flash of hurt written on your face. Even when you two were arguing, he never talked to you like this. Guess strange words come out of a grown man’s mouth when his mind’s broken.

“Are you being serious right now?” Your voice broke towards the end of your sentence. He didn’t respond, and only stared at you like you were an idiot. The audacity he had to say that astounded you. Drunk words were a sober man’s thoughts or however the saying went. You were reminded of the way your father would talk to your mom, and a feeling of disgust washed over you. The man you loved was starting to become like the man you hated. Your anger dissipated as tranquility took its place. You knew what you had to do.

“You know what? I’m done.” You had sounded so unbothered as you removed your hands from the bar. Like if you were talking about the state of the weather and not ending your relationship. Leon raised an eyebrow. Did he hear you right? Were you doing what he thought you were doing?

“I love you and I understand you have your issues. But I have enough self respect for myself to realize I deserve better than being treated like garbage.” Hearing your words seemed to sober him up. He quickly got off the barstool, stumbling a little as he did. You watched him with a strange look in your eyes. Looking back at it now, he realized that it was a look of pity.

“Baby. You don’t mean that.” He chuckled before searching your face for any signs that you were joking. Much to his dismay, your lips were pressed in a thin line. He reached out to try and grab your hands but you had pulled them away. Your eyes were devoid of that warmth you usually had whenever he looked into them. That’s when it hit him that he had fucked up for the last time.

“Do me a favor and call yourself a cab. Seems like the bars’ closing soon.” A disappointed sigh managed to escape from you as you turned away. Part of you wanted to personally drive him home but that would only hurt you in the long run. These were the consequences of his actions. That’s what you had to tell yourself as he began to plead you to stay.

“Please don’t do this. Can’t you just stay? Please love, don’t leave me.” He called out to you. He would have begged you to stay till the sun rose, you knew that. You’ve never heard someone sounding so desperate, let alone Leon sounding so desperate. Maybe it was how much alcohol he had consumed. Maybe it was the fact that he knew he was losing you. It made you hesitate for a moment but you continued to walk.

Deep down you knew if you stayed, you wouldn’t be able to leave. It would be a never ending restless cycle of Leon getting drunk and saying hurtful shit, you wanting to leave, him begging you not to, etc. You weren’t going to be like your mother. Desperate pleas fell on deaf ears as you finally stepped out of the bar, disappearing into the night and his life.

“Time to go home. Bar’s closed.” The bartender told him which snapped him out of his thoughts once last time. It didn’t feel like that much time had passed since he was given another drink, but the time on his watch proved him wrong. When it came to you he always lost track of time. Every time he sat down on this barstool he thought about you. Why he had kept coming back here, he didn’t know. Mostly it was a way of punishing himself. For letting you walk away and being too much of a coward to not change for you.

He paid his tab and left a tip for the bartender. Mumbling a good night, he made his way out the door. The cool night air felt nice against his flushed skin, yet it only made him miss you more. Cursing out his brain for the painful reminder, he called a cab before waiting for it to come. 

God he wished he didn’t but he did remember every moment (the good and the bad) on those summer nights with you.

I love the fact that no one is aware of Vox’s actual ranking and the fact that Vox has no idea how much they actually like him. Do you think they, the sins, would ever petition for him to get to go to other rings? Especially since the sinners are put at the top ring to be easier to exterminate and they might wanna avoid that? Maybe they just try for at least a day trip? I can’t imagine it would be easy especially since Lucifer isn’t the most fond of him but I also imagine he wouldn’t break the rules, if it’s in his power, just for one sinner anyways

But also awwwwww I’d love to hear more about what each sin thinks- even if we haven’t met some yet. If you have time/feel like it of coarse! I’m just very curious and love this little universe 👀

The sins want Vox to be able to visit other rings, but they're been unsuccessful in find a way to let him pass through the boundaries. They've never had a sinner like Vox before so they don't know which way they're supposed to go. Does he need special permission from everyone? Just Lucifer? From the whole Royal family or some type of blood sacrifice?

The reason they haven't really put in the effort yet is because Vox hasn't really expressed interest in travelling the other rings. They don't know that Vox isn't aware of his status , so they assume that he's content where he is. Vox, on the other hand, is very interested in exploring the other rings, but he assumes he isn't allowed too and he doesn't want to ask just in case it would be viewed as disrespectful

Once Vox discovers his high ranking, he will actually explore the other rings of Hell to see how his power is holding up and if he needs to change things. VoxTech would expand to the other regions, and Vox would supply jobs to the hellborn sinners. They would be under Vox's protection too- so the likelihood of them being injured or killed by others gets lowered. Papermint would also get an exception as Vox's assistant, but he would only be allowed to travel with Vox or with written approval from Vox

As for the sins!

Mammon views Vox as potential for money. Vox is incredibly rich and knows how to play into people's wants and desires to fuel his own powers and needs so Mammon respect him, but doesn't like him because Mammon things he should be the only one who is rich and in charge of people's money. Mammon doesn't mind Vox as a person. He views him as a cash cow, though, and wants to exploit Vox like a mini-attraction.

Levi likes Vox because Vox likes sea creatures and respects the creatures. When Levi discovered that Vox's favourite animal was a shark- he knew what he had to do. He created Vark by hand specifically for Vox, but also as a creature who could stand on his own in case Vox turned out to be abusive towards animals. When Vox brought Vark to the next meeting, Levi was pleased to see how well cared for the shark was and how much Vark loved Vox- it became clear to Levi that Vox was someone who deserved his powers and the pet. He likes to see Vox get jealous or possessive because he finds it humorous, and he sees himself in Vox. He uses Vark as a means of measuring Vox as a person since Vark is an excellent judgement of character.

Ozzy relies a lot on Vox for his factories, but he doesn't try to take advantage of Vox's powers. He likes Vox as a person and finds him rather charming and witty. Ozzy respects Vox as a businessman and appreciates how much Vox cares for his employees. They never talk about sex with one another because Vox gets uncomfortable quickly- but Ozzy knows about Vox's partner, and he can tell that the relationship isn't the best, but he's unaware of how bad it was. When Vox starts to date Alastor, it's a huge shift in personality and change, and Ozzy does get a bit sad because it becomes obvious to him that Vox was being abused and he blames himself for not noticing. He could sense a huge lack of lust rolling off of Vox but just fought he may not have been the most sexual. Ozzy knows now that there was a huge lack of consent, but he never brings it up to keep Vox feeling secure

Bee and Vox get along the best because they're both pretty outgoing. Vox does have some anxiety and can be bad at socializing. Bee finds him rather endearing and likes to hang out with him. Vox gets along pretty well with Bee's boyfriend, too, and the trio likes to have lunch together during the meetings. Vox supplies Bee with all the power she needs because she has helped him the most and was always there to comfort him when he needed it. Bee knew of Vox's relationship with Val, but she was asked to keep it private, and she respected his wish. Bee and Vox both like sweets, too, and sometimes Bee would bake goodies for Vox to try. Sometimes they're drugged, and sometimes they're not. After Vox starts dating Alastor- he tells her no more drugged ones- which she also respects

Lucifer finds Vox idiotic and clumsy, but he does like him. He's a firm believer that Vox could do way better than Alastor, but he doesn't meddle with Vox's personal life. Lucifer does his best to make sure that Vox is happy and content because he's worried about power outages all the time. Vox is a great source of anxiety and stress for him, but he doesn't say it outloud. He's the one that eventually tells Vox of his ranking because he finds out first that Vox thinks he's just an 'overlord.' Lucifer is embarrassed that he never told Vox, and eventually Lucifer gives Vox a charm that allows him to travel through the rings. Alastor doesn't like the charm, but he accepts it as a 'work-related item'

Satan and Vox tend to argue a lot because they're both rather hot-headed. Their arguments are usually lighthearted though and the two don't mind each other. They're not exactly friends though

Belph and Vox are mostly friends because of Bee, but they can hang out and socialize without Bee. They like to nap together sometimes, and Belph doesn't mind sharing her drugs with Vox.

I don't know a lot of Belph and Satan so sorry for the shitty explanation! As I come up with more I'll expand on it

I just finished Chapter 2. The ending was sad. The angels are brimming with hatred and blinded by it, so what they're doing is very unfair and inhumane.

But I also feel very excited to move on to Chapter 3, and Mammon is on the cover(?) of it so it's definite that MC will meet him now. I'm really looking forward to that and to meeting Bimet and Eligos, hopefully! Then again, MC didn't meet Astaroth even though he's from Gehenna, so it would make sense that she wouldn't meet all of Mammon's demons now too, which means that if she were to meet someone now, it should, by logic, be Bimet because he's the closest to Mammon. Time to see!

It’s funny actually because Dean is heavily influenced by the 80’s and the rise of rock and roll. Didn’t Dean say if Gabe was less of a dick he’d be his type of guy? Or was that a fanfic… ANYWAYS!

>Micheal is the 50’s… don’t ask but it’s definitely influenced by Clickbaitcowboy (Can you tell I’m heavily influenced by him??) and also y’know, his overall vibe. He EMBODIES the baby boom and postwar influence on the people of that era that undercut the survivalist women of the 40’s and thrusted men yet again at the forefront of innovation. Aka men taking advantage of the times and capitalizing off of the efforts of women that happened during the depression when they had the chance so they can forward their agenda. (Profiting off of war efforts and raising soldiers… very Micheal)

Also I think it’s hilarious that Nick would quite literally be a sickly Victorian child if Lucifer cared a smidge more about his overall appearance. I think it’s very fitting since Luci’s Revolution also led to crime, murder, cheap sin, and desperation.

(Or at least my understanding of her character) But also it was much more subdued than the 20’s which I think is Raphael’s main thing. She’s very much an independent and intelligent Angel but that all takes the back burner in the face of her responsibility as archangel—protecting her siblings and navigating for them while keeping up pretenses that everything is okay.

this ghost ask list provided a rly good opportunity to talk abt cola since i dont think ive ever made an actual post for them or talk abt them much in general!!

the gifs above are their three most notable ghost shells, and the scenes they're gif'd from are even canonically compliant with their timeline. 😌

questions and answers are under the cut :} and it's LENGTHY just as a warning lmfao

legendary shards. What is your Ghost like? What character traits do they have? Cola has a bit of a strong personality, as in "if I don't wanna do it, then I won't" which has simultaneously always existed in and trickled down into Calamity. Not that there's never been a time when they've had to essentially suck it up and do it anyway, considering what their guardian career entails with Calamity, after all. They will speak up to voice their say on a matter when it's necessary or affects them. I will say I do think they were a bit too dependent on locating Calamity and subsequently kicking off their joint guardian career early on, because they really wanted to find their guardian like everyone else around them was and also were eager to prove themselves (as guardian and ghost) like they had been imagining for a long time. Another trait they share with Calamity is they can be a bit arrogant, especially when Calamity ends up involved in some of the canon "Young Wolf role" instances. This also includes a "nah that won't happen to me/us" attitude from time to time, even if on a deeper level they're definitely more concerned than they let on. A prominent example of this is while the pair work with the Spider, hypothetically a fellow ghost or anyone else could question about Cola's comfort around the dead ghost shells that their "boss" keeps, and Cola will simply (figuratively) shrug and reply that they're dead and don't need them anymore, or alternatively: "better them than me". However, it's also worth noting that Cola never physically manifests in the Spider's presence for a long time, showcasing how they try to keep up an appearance and not seem as concerned as they may actually be. Overall, Cola sounds like a mini-Calamity as far as general overall personality goes, though they definitely do have their own differences naturally. However, Calamity doesn't do anything that Cola isn't at least partially on board with either for the most part. Cola is also very proud of their guardian's accomplishments, which in turn makes them their own accomplishments as well since Calamity's very survival depends on Cola, and the ghost knows it. The long-lasting working relationship with the Spider was/is a bit more muddled, and quite frankly the pair's involvement with Spider is a separate MASSIVE can of worms I won't delve into here obviously, but it's also worth noting that Cola is every bit of willing to continue said working relationship as Calamity is regardless of any fleeting wariness.

glimmer. Is your Ghost a loner or has a friend group? Do they hang out with other Ghosts or Guardians? Before finding Calamity, Cola had a small circle of acquaintances - mostly fellow ghosts also searching for their guardians. They would keep in contact, catch up at the Tower if any or all of them happened to be around in between their searches, and I'd say there's a good chance Cola has met at least one of the more prominent guardians at the Tower (Vanguard, the in-game vendors, etc.) even if it was just a group setting. However, Cola typically focused on their search. Even moreso as one by one, more of their acquainted ghosts returned with a guardian of their own. Cola was always genuinely happy for them of course, but would still experience a small pang of envy and unknowingly resort to isolating from them for a bit as they would turn their attention to searching to try and push that envy/feeling of being left behind away. Their envy would often leave them in that mindset of "I think I deserved to find mine before them and it's unfair" though it's not a thought they'd ever voice out loud, even if in their most frustrated and dejected moments, they really wanted to. Currently, Cola has adjusted better once they found Calamity. A few of the same ghosts from before still keep in contact with them, with one of them coincidentally being the ghost of my warlock oc. :] Cola has also warmed up to becoming acquainted with the guardians of their ghost friends/acquaintances, in contrast to how they were before when they'd avoid contact because of how jealous they felt. :[ OH, adding this last minute, but so far I'm feeling out a possible friendship they develop with Fynch too. :> Unfortunately it's probably technically AU territory, since I don't think they're canonically involved with the Witch Queen campaign, but also everyone knows that will not stop me from indulging in things off to the side. Cola will naturally be a bit prickly around Fynch at first, understandably so. BUT, I do think an eventual genuine friendship blooming from that as they continue to work together would be so nice for the two of them... :'] As for Cola and Calamity's relationship, they are close! They definitely butt heads from time to time, but overall the two are essentially on the same page for most things.

ascendant shards. How did the Ghost find your Guardian? How long did it take them? Cola rez'd Calamity on Venus! The former managed to convince a duo of guardians to take them along to the planet, and separated from them once they arrived. After searching for a prolonged amount of time, Cola finally stumbled upon their future guardian's corpse within a smaller security outpost. The pair unfortunately had to spend at least a few days navigating away from Eliksni and Vex until they could find a way off-planet. That opportunity presented itself at last when they ran into a different guardian who helped secure them transportation that could get them back to Earth. Cola had been searching for quite awhile, though I'm not sure if that was their first trip to Venus or not. The exact timeline of Cola's search is pretty vague for me at the moment too, but it felt like an eternity for the ghost regardless. Searching Venus was lengthy too, again it naturally feels really long when you're trying so hard to locate a particular corpse and avoid drawing attention from the Eliksni/Vex no matter how long it actually took.

enhancement core. How does the Ghost behave in combat? Do they help the Guardian in any way? This is a good question because I've frankly never thought about it. I'd say Cola typically stays quiet in the heat of combat so Calamity can focus. If the latter is on his own, Cola may call out anything necessary or discuss their plan while in the field. They're not really a "commentary for the sake of commentary" type of ghost. I'll also say that Cola would definitely wield their own little gun and jump right into combat alongside their guardian if they could or if it wasn't extremely imperative they don't get themselves destroyed. Cola'd easily be part of the "#give Ghost a gun" crowd. So you can imagine how elated Cola is when they have the chance to operate weaponry, such as manning the turret in the Machinist mission in Forsaken lmao.

bright dust. Is your Ghost stylish? Do they like different shells or do they stick to one? Do they have a unique or recognizable feature? Cola isn't one to frequently change shells. They're very content sticking with one for a long while. And naturally, they like having a matching color scheme with Calamity's armor. :] Their most noteworthy shells used are in the gifs above: The default white one they practically began life in, The Freyja shell after finding Calamity and they purchase it (which is also a nice little nod to their search's success on Venus because of its description: "For Ghosts who have climbed the Freyja Montes of Venus."), Followed by the servitor shell that is more or less their "work uniform" when essentially running errands for Spider. I still haven't decided if their previous Freyja shell was (voluntarily) traded to Spider or not when they received the servitor one or if they opted to save it, because they'd probably be fine sticking to the latter all the time. It's definitely way less obvious of a "walking Spider goon here" sign than Calamity's tangled web mark which frankly he most likely wouldn't be wearing nearly as frequently as it's seen in my gifs and screencaps of him lmao. Depends, I guess.

silver. Does the Ghost have their own space wherever the Guardian lives? What does it look like? I like to think that Cola does! I'm honestly still unsure of exactly where Calamity hangs around as a personal "home residence". Despite that, I can see Cola having a small nook of their own in the same space that Calamity sleeps/hangs around in. I do also like the idea of Cola still having their original white shell in said space for sentimentality. They'd also prefer to hang around in their space while Calamity rests or is busy. Cola naturally likes Calamity and will hover around them and maybe perch on/near them for awhile, but when it comes to times such as Calamity sleeping, Cola prefers their own space instead of cuddling up with him or something like that. Cola would keep their space simple. Maybe a cloth or small cushion for them to rest on, their first ghost shell as mentioned above, and perhaps a souvenir or two from either their excursions or something they bought around the Tower, etc. HOWEVER, I do think there are particular times when Cola does wanna be closer to Calamity in a setting like that, and will nestle on or around him. It's just not as often as one would generally expect from a close ghost and guardian. This is a bit of an ironic development, considering I've touched on how Cola's search and early days with Calamity had them glued alittle too closely to their guardian in a sense.

exotic cipher. How does the Ghost feel about the Crucible and Gambit? Cola likes it! They'll watch broadcasted matches in their downtime, and Cola wishes Calamity enjoyed it more and wasn't so put off by it because he's a bit of a sore loser lmao, but in the end, it's not that big of a deal that they don't participate as often as Cola wants to. [Cola voice] "We've got more important things to handle anyway because we're important and all. :]"

spoils of conquest. What is the Ghost’s attitude towards the Darkness powers? And the Guardian if they are using it? Cola was a bit more on the fence about it as Calamity was. While Cola is rational and will recognize the advantages of something like that, I think what made them feel more unsure about it was that it was obviously not what is familiar to them - the Light. Canon Ghost's dialogue in Beyond Light voicing his concern on whether he'd even be able to heal/resurrect the Guardian is a main concern of Cola's as well and comes from a practical sense naturally. I would say that the Witness/Darkness speaking to/through them previously has also left Cola a bit shaken at this point and hammers that apprehension in deeper too. However, Cola has faith in Calamity's capability to wield it and thus grows more comfortable with the idea and handling it in action. I'll be honest that Calamity's exact level of involvement in canon Beyond Light events and how much he actually utilizes Stasis (if even at all) is still up in the air for me for the most part, so it's pretty wishy-washy but this is just a general idea of it for now.

enhancement prism. What was the Ghost’s life before finding their Guardian? Oof, I kind of already answered this under "glimmer", at least for Cola's social life. I can see Cola maybe having supplied some miniscule intel to the ghost network as they traveled and happened to observe/discover something useful. I will say though that Cola definitely felt really lonely, despite technically having others around them to talk to if they needed. Self-isolating, in a way. "Seeing guardian/ghost pairs unfortunately ignites that loneliness/envy within me so I try to avoid what is causing me emotional pain/discomfort." :[ But also as I typed that, I wouldn't put it past Cola to cope with that by trying to launch themselves into these risky intel/scouting operations for the network. However, I don't think that'll be the case because it mirrors Calamity alittle too closely. Even if Cola doesn't jump eye-first into perilous situations like that, something more low risk that I can see them volunteering for more often (in the occasional downtime between searches they'd have) would possibly be routine deliveries/etc. around the Tower and Last City? Something to that effect.

upgrade module. What does the Ghost like to do in free time? Do they have hobbies? While Calamity isn't much for baking during the Dawning, Cola actually likes it alot! And Calamity will do it for Cola's sake considering the latter can't exactly do it on their own, but the Dawning in particular became so much more enjoyable for Cola after they found Calamity. Again, even though Cola had support and friends and people to talk to as they searched for their guardian, they really did unknowingly self-isolate alot so celebrations like the Dawning - while still enjoyable and something Cola participated in - would also leave them feeling lonelier than usual. And so far I'm liking the idea of Cola taking an interest in astronomy/space exploration, whereas Calamity is more of a planetary (specifically fauna/biology/etc.) kind of guy. In a way they're like a "deep space" and "deep ocean" type of pair lmao. Cola does enjoy Calamity sharing their enjoyment of music/dance with them too. :]

Random question, but what do you think SG Stunticons would be like?

So obligatory "i'm bad at SG in general" warning.

I prefer when SG characters all have the same base personalities, just different methods of interaction and socialization. So Motormaster is still an authoritarian type who likes to be listened to; Drag Strip is still rather approval-hungry; Wildrider still likes fun in all forms and will chase it and gets bored easily; Dead End is still introspective and prone to thinking about the future rather than the present; and Breakdown is still very aware of other people and how they relate to him and his. But they're socialized better and very differently.

So.

Motormaster is a "kind but firm" leader. He's probably got a lot in common with regular!IDW Ratchet, being a bit of a buzzkill and not exactly sugar-sweet but he cares and he makes it obvious that he cares through his actions rather than his words. Because it's SG he's probably nicer than Ratchet though, verbally speaking. He still has very high expectations for his team, but he also makes it clear when he feels like they've met those expectations and is encouraging when he feels like they've fallen short. He's still not great at leading, probably, though - a little bit of a bumbling dumbass who at least has the good grace to admit when he's the one who fucked up.

Dead End really depends on the world, but I really struggle to imagine him not intensely morbid and miserably depressed no matter the situation. It's hard not to be when you're constantly thinking about the future and how you're on the losing side of a war, and in everything I've ever seen that's SG, the Decepticons are losing. He's probably less pretentious about it though - less of a classic lit guy and more of a. I don't know. Insert that one "Millenial Depression vs Gen Z depression" meme, he's probably a sparklecore nihilist instead of a miserable cynic. Prone to exclamations during bad moments of "It's okay, it could be worse!" "HOW could it be worse?" "We could all be dead!" or some shit like that.

Drag Strip runs around scrounging for compliments the same as ever, except this time he can just ask with his mouth so he just pulls that "aw, I didn't really do a good job, did I?" routine about everything all the time to force you to reassure that no, actually, he DID do good, and you're impressed with him. If regular!Drag Strip pulled that shit the regular!Stunticons would just be like "no dumbass you suck lmfao. anyway" so it wouldn't work for him, but in SG it would. As a result he's probably just as annoying but way less competitive, a hell of a lot more cooperative instead. Happy to work on a team and great at picking up skills because that means he has more things to go rooting for compliments on.

Wildrider is exactly the same except that he doesn't kill people. That's it. Oh he's probably also not paranoid about things when he's left alone but he's still easily bored and he still would rather be doing things. He does stuff all the time and he's still a firewords and explosions guy, he has fun. He'd get along with his regular counterpart- possibly the only sg character to ever LMAO

And Breakdown has no reason to be shy- instead he's just constantly thinking about other people and their emotional states... he's probably a terrrrrrible busybody. Hyperaware of gossip and the giver of the best gifts on the planet. If you have a problem, SG!Breakdown knows about it before you do. He's probably besties with Reflector and Soundwave instead of petrified of them. Maybe this is the universe where Breaky gets to be in Intel like he deserves.

You roll over in bed, picking up Zhongli’s call. You hadn't wanted to bother him–truly, you just wanted to get the thoughts out of your head. But he never really could stay calm when it came to making sure you were alright. And maybe it’s for the best. You can’t really type while sobbing your eyes out anyway.

His voice on the other end of the phone is steady—a tether to keep you from truly falling of the edge. Years and years of trying to escape the past leads you straight back to it, and there’s no way you could be expected to navigate this on your own.

“You don’t need to worry about me,” Zhongli says softly. “I've waited five years. I can wait a few more, you know that right? You do not need to factor me into your decision making.”

You swipe a few stray tears from your eyes. “I do have to. Your feelings are just as important as mine.”

“I’m robust,” Zhongli says, and you chuckle lightly. “I can handle a couple of additional years on the back burner.”

“I don’t want to have to choose between my career or being happy. I don’t get why Lumine’s being like this. I’ve always supported her—in any relationship she’s ever tried to pursue. But now it’s my turn, she highlights all the problems?”

“It likely comes from a place of fear. She must be worried for you.”

“I’m not a sheet of glass. I can handle myself just fine.”

“But that doesn't mean that you should have to.”

“That’s fair.”

“Do what makes you happy, my love. You deserve that,  at the very least.”

“And what if that causes you trouble?”

“Then I'll deal with it.”

Zhongli continues to talk to you until you’re fast asleep—trying to delay sleep himself. If he falls asleep, he may just realise that this is all some elaborate dream.

So.... I never want to write and I've had this cool idea in my head for awhile. 👉👈 Sense8 but 6reeze? That's about it LOL. Kazuha and Heizou live near the same area. Venti and Xiao were friends from college, who may not live near each other anymore but they still talk occasionally. Scara/Wanderer is off by himself, probably some badass job. Aether is a travel blog enthusiast who has quite the following (including the other members of 6reeze). The first ones to connect are Kazuha and Aether, who think they're in the same physical space because they're both enjoying the sights of where they are. They talk for a bit about travelling, bonding a bit, and they don't even suspect anything until one of them mentions going to do some regional thing that the other is like "huh never heard of it" before the other is like "how have you never heard of it, everyone who comes here knows about it" and as they turn they disconnect, feeling confused as shit as to what just happened. What a trope lmfao, I love. Naturally the last to connect are Venti and Xiao because mmm classic trope of friends having the same secret and keeping it from each other/being unaware the other has the same secret. It's not like they're close friends, you probably wouldn't tell someone you occasionally talk to that you met and befriended like 4 years ago that you're seeing shit in your head. They're definitely shocked and there's some realisation of the things they vaguely shared with each other before both of them have experienced, like fucking- idk Scara fighting someone and them witnessing it and they subtly brought it up vaguely to discuss without going "there's a dude in my head". I wish I had the willpower to write bro. At the very least I could make a drabble series about each interaction and realisation of what was going on. Oh shit my brain just gave me an idea of the first time Kazuha realised they can affect each other, he stops Scara from beating the shit out of someone. (I think I'm imagining Scara as some kind of fucking government agent or spy or ops where it's acceptable to beat the shit out of people- illegally-) Same with Scara not even meaning to defend one of the Sensates (because he's a dickhead, god I love him), but just refusing to watch someone not fight back (probably Aether and NOT Kazuha) or thinking the aggressor deserves to get the shit beaten out of them, so he fights for them. Anyway. Yeah. Neat idea. idk if it's been done yet, all I found was a soulmate au with the sensate connection for Chilumi.

Who are people you think Ganso could possibly fall for?

It's really tough to say.

In my head, his trigger goes one of two ways:

One, he probably would like damsel-in-distress types that he can save, but more importantly ones that he can help make a better life for after they're safe.

Two, on the other hand, I think he'd have more respect and admiration for someone who can hold their own and seeks to help others as he does.

His ass would loooove someone like Princess Peach I bet lmfao.

Anyway, I think something that stops me from figuring out who he'd like is the fact that I feel as though he'd end up liking people who have no interest in him, consistently, as a gag almost. But when I think about that possibility too much I'm all like, noooo he deserves mutual love.......... His options however, as far as main characters go at least, are kinda slim.

I think there'd be a point where he crushes on Foxglove, but it'd be very short lived given Foxglove's asocial attitude, and the fact that she secretly does a lot of fucked up shit. Plus, Foxglove would have no interest in him.

He'd probably get a kick out of someone like Tim, who wants to do right by people and has no fear or worry diving into danger, but. I don't think Tim would be interested either.

Funny enough I think Caela would find herself liking him at some point, especially after what happens with Ching & his hosting, but El Ganso would be entirely opposed given her treatment of others, and the fact that they have nothing in common.

See no matter what crosses my mind I just can't see it working....!!!! Maybe I just need to mess around for a while and see what clicks. Or maybe that's just part of his character, one sided connections. Who knows. I want him to find love, but it sure is difficult!

Ok we have all the songs, time to make a top, with comments even 😳

1. Norway - I love love love this one, this eerie, thrilling melody mixed with the medieval theme and old norwegian language just makes this song perfect and no other song of this year can come any closer to it. Very unique, true to their homeland, absolute masterpiece. I'm definitely following more of Gåte's discography from now on!

2. Estonia - Well they're singing about drugs here and this song is exactly like a drug - addictive. What sells it is their awesome, slightly batshit crazy energy (I absolutely love it) and let's not forget the traditional instruments. I can see a Trenulețul scenario with this one tbh.

3. Slovenia - Absolutely magical, the structure of this song is pretty uncommon and the lil RRAH sounds are interesting, love how it takes a while to build-up and I just get chills all over. This one is a piece of art.

4. San Marino - This song is destroying my Spotify wrapped and it's not even funny, there's something about this one that makes it instantly addictive. I've listened to Megara since last year when they were at Spain's NF with Arcadia and all I can say is that I love their style. Sassy pink and punk rock with a touch of Spanish traditional sounds during the bridge, they just mesh together so well. I don't understand why it's so underrated (currently last in the odds lmfao) and I'm looking forward to their live performance.

5. Denmark - Generic pop song my beloved, why is it so catchy though? I've said it in a previous post, I just reminds me of songs I'd hear in 2013 or so and I love the "Oh-Oh" parts. Lovely

6. Lithuania - The beat hits, it's just awesome fr. Lovely staging and colors, Lithuanian sounds so pretty and melodic as well as his voice.

7. Belgium - Wonderful build-up, the song at first sounds very chill and gives me Blanche vibes (I looked it up and they have the same composer so not surprised lmao) but man, the climax is greaaaaat!! Especially with that choir in the backing. My only gripe would be that he keeps repeating the title over and over again, which can become a bit tiring. But just a bit. It's still a great song!

8. Switzerland - I don't know whose idea was to mix opera and drum n bass together but they're a genius, this is really cool, like absolutely nuts. I love how the bridge is very soft and quiet, opposing the loud and dramatic chorus, I feel like the song itself is pretty messy and inconsistent but I really like that, it's very out of the box and innovative. Genius entry.

9. Latvia - Underrated, I can see why it might fail to grab an audience in the fandom but I really like this one, especially his voice. The song flows nicely too, I only wish the staging would be a bit more...dynamic though? I really want Latvia to qualify for once, felt like it might have a chance since it could attract some casual viewers (some of my casual friend watchers really liked it!) but seeing how brutal semifinal 2 is (and one spot will be inevitably taken by...yeah won't elaborate) I'm afraid Latvia's out for this year as well. I hope at least for a surprise or who knows. That's only how I feel at this moment.

10. Spain - My biggest grower of this year and a total banger, I don't understand why it slaps so hard it has no business to, the message is SO real and it's so unapologetically sassy.

11. Czechia - Same story as with Latvia, underrated to hell and back, I know the live version is...a lil terrible but the studio one I really like. Love how you can feel the frustration through her shouty lyrics and how she's blaming herself for not loving herself more instead (also the beginning might or might not remind me of Aijā I mean the intro with the drums makes me think of it-) ANYWAY

12. Croatia - Listen I'm very happy for Croatia being seen as a most likely winner of this year, they deserve it, Baby Lasagna is an amazing man and the message is on point, even if it's not exactly my favorite I definitely root for him!! Please meow back if you agree. Besides this, the glam ethno rock sound is just 👌 chef's kiss

13. Armenia - Love love love that they brought something ethnic!! The girl's energy is infectious and she's such a joy to watch, the music video is very pretty and describes their culture so well, overall I adore this.

14. Netherlands - GREAT I relistened to it so I can rank it and now I have Europapapapapapa stuck in my head how wonderful. This tells me already that this is such an infectious bop that will never leave your head. Possible televote winner, love the quirkiness and Joost is really goofy we stan.

15. Greece - Welcome to Greece, everyone who visits the country is obligated to listen to this the moment they step out of the plane- /j It's so Greek, so fun, so ethnic, geez what's happening with everyone being so diverse and true to their culture this year? This song screams summer vacation in Greece and I'm here for it.

16. France - The raw emotions in this...he sings with his heart and soul, his voice is very deep and gruff which feels a bit unusual to hear such an intimate and emotional ballad from him, but this is what makes the song special.

17. Italy - Love her attitude and how she sells the song, it's very sassy and fun, won't be surprised to see Italy get yet another Top 5 finish with this.

18. Ukraine - Interesting mix of melancholic pop and energetic chanting and rap. Alyona just nails the rap part perfectly. Overall nice song, grew off me but still great.

19. Ireland - This makes me have chills all over my body. It's very haunting and suspenseful, I love the uncommon unique sound and how they recite the lyrics as they are a poem/creating a curse, I simply love how avant-garde Ireland are this year! Finally they're taking a risk and even if the song is unconventional i hope it will have a following that will help them get through the semi! 🤞

20. Poland - Oh look another grower, it's such a cute song for some reason and her voice is so pleasant to the ears.

21. Serbia - At first I thought it's a bit boring but now I find myself mumbling "Lila Ramondaaaa", like it has a hook even if it's a melancholic ballad.

22. Portugal - The emotions in this are immaculate, she conveys all her struggles in life so well into a ballad that's somewhat soft-sounding. Epic.

23. Australia - For some reason this song takes me back to 2015-2016 and I don't get why?? Maybe I heard music that's similar to this in that period, who knows. That chorus slaps immensely, as well as the didgeridoo(I hope that's the instrument), but I'm not extremely head over heels about it. It's enjoyable still!

24. Malta - Contrary to popular belief I enjoyed the revamp, she made it easier to sing live and it just has more oomph, good job, Malta.

25. Finland - The whole 3 minutes are absolutely batshit insane and I love it fr, these dudes are a delight to watch. The song tbh I like it but not that much to rank it higher, but I appreciate the craziness, the message, what sells it is definitely the staging and the guys' stage persona.

26. Austria - Mmmmm I know it's a fan favorite but I'm not a big fan of this, like I've said before in some other posts. The hype at first was highly irritating (especially on twitter, dear god 💀) for such a...just okay/good song? First of all I appreciate the throwback to the late 90s/early 00s eurodance/synthpop music that was popular back then, I think it does a great job imitating the vibes of it, but at the same time is it just me or this song feels so...calculated and has this eurovision-specific formula in its structure/sound? It was definitely made for it being performed live and to pander to the yass queen slay ate and left no crumbs-side of the fandom? Which honestly kinda drags it down a lot for me.

27. Sweden - I can't unhear parts of Air in this, well actually that's their style, neat electro pop tbh, I can bop to this, pretty enjoyable.

28. Moldova - Falls flat but what makes it a bit stronger is the vocalisations in the chorus, as well as the lil ethnic sounds. That drum is also quite catchy. They have to pull out a wonder-staging for this to qualify.

29. Georgia - If Georgia isn't qualifying with this one then that means their only hope is borrowing Loreen at this point. It's a competent girl bop with powerful vocals, that has a dedicated following, but I appreciate that even if it's a girl bop it's not so aggressively in your face like...other examples I've seen before. I'm personally not big on it, but it's nice.

30. Azerbaijan - Oh? Azerbaijan sends something in their language, what is this 2050? And not with a melfest reject? For the 2nd year in a row? I'm very impressed, but even with all these I don't feel that attached to the song, just glad they took a risk instead of renting a swede for safe qualification like they did in the past years. I love the ethnic touches though.

31. Luxembourg - Cute and peppy french bop, although a bit generic and that's about it, no strong feelings.

32. Cyprus - Mmm your regular girlie pop of the year, unsurprisingly from Cyprus as well. Pretty catchy, has a cool vibe but I'm not feeling anything about it.

33. United Kingdom - Just a competent mid-tempo boy bop, honestly nothing much to say since it kinda failed to impress me. Good effort though.

34. Albania - I don't get why they changed it into english, why they turned it more upbeat (I liked the balladier version more) and the rap part feels disjointed. Albania wanted to relive their 2016-2017 era I see.

35. Germany - I'm sorry but this song bores me to death and can't listen to it without zoning out which is a shame because he's a competent singer (his voice is the best thing about Germany this year) and I'm afraid they're again heading for a bottom 3 finish 💀

36. Iceland - Mmm this isn't is, Iceland. Very sorry. Sounds like it would get 13th in 2004, it's a very by-the-letters eurodance.

I will not rank Israel here. It's still mind-boggling that they're still allowed to participate.

What do you think Arven's Mabosstiff's relationship would be with Nemona & Penny and vice versa? Arven had one-sided beef with Nemona and probably didn't get along with Penny at first, but I wonder how Mabosstiff would feel about those two? At least I do think their interactions would lean towards the positive for the most part. What you do think?

Ok so to start I want to clarify that there's like a horse girl classification system. Type 1, to me, is just People Who Ride Horses. Rika is a horse girl in the sense that she has a horse and likes horse-riding, but I think she's normal about it. She's capable of being a functioning member of society without bringing up horses, but definitely goes to and participates in horse shows and races and stuff. To me she just seems like the type to ride around for the fun of it all and finds it relaxing. Type 2 is the horse girl that they make the TV shows and books about and stuff. The one who finds the stallion in the fields and is the only one who can tame its tortured soul. They dream of being the special girl who can see into the heart of this beautiful animal and ride together into the sunset. Nemona is trying to pull this off with Koraidon so badly. She wants it to eat sandwiches out of her open palm and to motorbike across the plains of Los Platos. She can see it in her dreams. Type 3 is the horse girl that all the schoolteachers are like vaguely concerned about because they know far too much about horses and have the social skills of one too. Horse girls that are complete fucking freaks. Weirdos. Losers. This was Geeta in middle school. She doesn't like to talk about it but still loves the horse movies

This ask made me realize that while I've talked a lot about the pre-story, during-story, and immediately post-story interactions between the characters, I haven't talked about afterwards. I think that immediately post-game they're all recovering and learning about real friendship for the first time and so they just don't get along well. Healing is hard and they lash out a bit, especially Penny and Arven, and it's only through the protagonist that they stay in touch. As the months go on and they heal, however, they become closer and closer, eventually becoming inseparable friends who all care so deeply for each other. I'll make a post about it later because Oh Boy do I have ideas about it. ANYWAY. Whether or not Arven likes Nemona, Mabosstiff does. That doggy loves to battle by Arven's own admission, and who gives a better battle than Nemona? I think Mabosstiff, knowing Nemona from Arven's childhood, adores her and is super friendly to her. She always gives Mabosstiff the battles he wants and treats and pets so Arven ends up having to interact with her because Mabosstiff will bound up to her every time he sees her. It drives Arven insane that Mabosstiff and Nemona are practically besties. It's the meetcute that begins the "enemies to friends" part of their childhood friends to enemies to friends again relationship cycle. As for Penny: I think Mabosstiff is just friendly and likes everyone, but Penny is a little bit scared of him. She's covered in eevee fur and smells like old pizza, so when she met Mabosstiff for the first time he chased her and jumped on her and tried to lick her face and she definitely thought that dog wanted to eat her. She's still apprehensive, but Mabosstiff is very affectionate and doesn't do much more than beg for pats and give sloppy kisses. Eventually though, she realizes that Mabosstiff is cute and big and harmless, so when they have picnics and Mabosttiff gets tuckered out he runs over to her (since she's usually sitting away from the group) to nap and get pets. She's still a lil nervous around such big pokemon, but gets along with him just fine. Mabosstiff likes her a lot because she's always down to give him some good scritches and has a nearly endless supply of treats. Also she's quiet and sometimes that's good for an older doggy like him
