headcanon that at some point during The Avengers Loki asked Clint what day it was and Clint told him the date and that it was Thursday and Loki got mad and kicked a wall because of fucking course it's Thor's day. every goddamn day around here is Thor's fucking day.

Saturday Sunwait? Actually, here... yes... I'd read a while ago that one blogger was doing Sunwait on Fridays, and I liked the idea a lot. I had wanted to try something different this year, and this seemed like a great opportunity. As I began decorating and making preparations, I thought, "Why not Saturday night?" Someone echoed, "Why not Saturday night?" Wink.
Quite frankly, I love the idea. So here we are. The gold candles, the pine cones, the glitter... So we begin tonight.

Avengers Infinity War: Is the Redemption of Loki here?
Avengers Infinity War: Is the Redemption of Loki here?
I’ve been thinking a lot about Avengers Infinity War. For some reason, I believe that we could see the redemption of Loki in this film. And this could mean that we would end up saying goodbye to our favorite trickster. There’re many theories around the web. Some people think that Loki will become evil, while others feel that he’ll play dirty for Thor. However, if we put both teaser trailers…

Daily Film Drabble - Lokisday
Prompt From This List
Thranduil
Tumblr media
“Stay here tonight.” The Elvenking murmurs. Your heart skips a beat. Is he asking what you think he is asking. "I must.. I must return home, your majesty." You stammer. Thranduil rises from his elevated throne. "Stay, I insist." He purrs. You flush a little. Thranduil chuckles and gracefully comes down to you. "So comely." He cooes.
He walks up to you, gazing you in the eye. You feel the gravity of his unending life. You see the wisdom in his eyes.
Thranduil extends his hand to you. "Come." He murmurs. Your heart pounds in your throat. The Last King of the Elves is propositioning you, you are sure of it. You are not quite sure how to feel about that. It is a bit overwhelming. You take his hand all the same. Thranduil smiles widely at you. "Very good." He murmurs. He leans in and presses a kiss to your cheek. His lips are soft as velvet and warm as mulled wine. He smells hypnotic.
He guides you to his personal chambers. Your heart speeds up even more. You are very aware of what is going to happen next. He holds the door for you. "Go on." The Elvenking purrs. You enter his bedchamber and he follows you closely. You can feel his hot breath in your neck.
He closes the door and you turn to him.
"Well well. Now that you are where I most want you." He draws you nearer. His body is hard against yours. Despite his age, he is still in the height of his fitness. He leans in slowly. You close your eyes, your breath hitching a little. His lips press against yours and you can't help a little whimper.

Hear thee
I, Odin Bestdad, hence forth declare all future Wednesdays now Lokisday including the previous one and thus we have already had one Lokisday, backdated.
Also, my son and crown prince of Asgard, Thor Odinson, is no longer to become king of Asgard. I had thought to replace him with Loki, who is clearly and self evidently a worthy candidate equal to his brother, but have instead opted to reorganize the Asgardian Imperium into a senate of realms and Asgard proper into a matriarchal triumvirate, with Frigga, Amora, and Sigyn as Tri-Queens of Asgard. So says Odin Bestdad. Tremble before my beard, and good day.

Loki's Day
Each day of the seven day week held a special significance to a god. Sunday was the day sacred to the Sun, Monday the Moon, Tuesday Tyr, Wednesday Odin, Thursday Thor, Friday Frigga, and Saturday Loki. The name of each day sounds fairly similar to its corresponding god, with the exception of Saturday, which is often mistakenly assumed to be named for the Roman god Saturn.
Saturday, the final day of the week, was originally known as Laugardag (formed from Loki’s name, but it translates to wash-day). When adapted to English, the day did in fact maintain its connection to Loki. The word Saturday is based on Sataere (the thief in ambush). This is simply another one of Loki’s names, used when referring to Loki as a god of agriculture (each of the gods presided over several different aspects of the universe, and Loki was no exception). So, although few know of it, the final day of the week is still named for Loki.
Incidentally, I’ve seen a lot of campaigns online prompting people to begin calling Saturday “Lokisday”. Most people have no idea Saturday is named after Loki, so Loki’s significance to the day is forgotten. This campaign to call Saturday Lokisday seeks to reinforce Loki’s connection to the day. This is an interesting idea, and I will definitely attempt to use Lokisday as often as I can remember.
I mention this whenever Thor’s Day being Thursday comes up :D
