A thin strip of ocean bisecting the continent Bruaumu, it is famed for its massive deposits of saltstone.
Currently under the heavenly mandate of the Luand'r Sheikhdom, its name is derived from the religious philosophy of X'Hal-Hedonism - based on three massive saltstone islands that bear a close resemblance to a sleeping figure submerged in the ocean.
X'Halinas travel from across the continent and beyond every four years on a religious pilgrimage known as 'X'Hashim' or 'X'Hal's Thrashing'
Roughly 380 megakants of saltstone, sludge-reed, and marcil are harvested from X'Hals Padagoa each year, and current estimates predict resource depletion within the 400-600 years.

“Ryand'r. On Earth, I have taken up Wildfire for it is easier to pronounce for the humans.”
Where and when were you born?
“Within the castle of Tamaran, after my 2 sisters. The war was still going.”
Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
“Myand'r, the Grand Ruler of Tamaran, and Luand'r, his wife. He was a very good ruler, I believe. Very strong and confident and loud enough to convince the people. And mother was great, always supporting him, very caring for us children… but perhaps those descriptions are more wishful thinking than anything else, from me.
I have not been many years at home so these might be images of them, and not truly how they were.”
Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
“I have not been with them for a long time, until recently. Blackfire has apparently become evil, she seems to always be acting with the intention to bring Starfire suffering or harm. I am very sorry that it has come to this.
Starfire is wonderful. She is so happy and strong and open… she makes me happy and feel welcomed and she always helps people and likes to learn new things.”
Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
“I don’t really have a living place. I am often staying with friends, sometimes in the T-Tower for example, but it… would feel wrong to get myself my own home here.”
What is your occupation?
“I don’t have any! I am learning about Earth, and enjoying the friendships that I can make here, as… as long as I can.”

“I have lighter skin than the typical tamaranean. I have red hair and blue eyes, and I am almost all the time wearing a tamaranean armor that I have possessed for many many years, as well as a similar cloak.”

“I don’t know of social classes.”

“I am rather certain that I am weaker than the default tamaranean, although perhaps that is merely because of me thinking so.
I am also unable to do the language-assimilation that all tamaraneans are capable of.”

“I think I prefer the left hand.”
What does your voice sound like?
“Um… an odd question. I am not as loud or strong in my voice as I should be.”
What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently?
“I am still learning the earthen languages, so if there are words or phrases I use more frequently than others, it is simply because I do not know another way of saying something. I cannot think of any word or phrase in specific, though.”
What do you have in your pockets?
“A small notebook and a pencil, here. Some money that the people sometimes insist on giving me. This… is a letter. And a communicator, of the Titans.”
Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics?
“Perhaps my stuttering with the earthen languages can be defined as this. I cannot think of anything else.”
PART 2: GROWING UP
How would you describe your childhood in general?
“… I did not have much of it. Not in a typical way. I was sent away from home very early to preserve the royal bloodline for the case that the war would have gone worse, ... and I could not afford being a child after that.”
What is your earliest memory?
“My mother. She was carrying me with her in flight, and singing a song to me.”
How much schooling have you had?
“I did not have much of the typical learning.
But I have taken care to learn many things from scrolls and books that the… that I had where I was after Tamaran.”

“I didn’t experience it for much time. But I think yes, I did.”

“By training them myself. I… I was on my own a lot of my time.”

“My father. I knew I was to follow in his footsteps eventually, and so I have always admired him. …”

“I was not with them very long. I loved my mother and Kori dearly, and I believe they returned such. With what I know of Ari by now, I am uncertain about my connection to her back then.”
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
“There was never the question of what I wanted. I knew my destiny.”

“… I don’t know. I lived alone most of the time. I think I was focused on what I was required to do.”

“It was… once I came to Earth. I wasn’t aware of my inability yet since I left Tamaran before it would be tried, and I was hoping to learn the earthen language faster this way. It was with Hay Lin (aerokinesiiss), she has helped me a lot even before we could talk with the other understanding, and I explained it to her. It was… very wonderful, even if it also showed me that I cannot learn the languages in the typical tamaranean way.”

“I think, I am more pessimistic.”

“Now? Starfire. It was Will (skymade) for a long time, although I was convinced that I had only made her up to have company during my loneliness.”

“Galfore. He is so strong, so capable, he is a good successor of father.”

“I don’t know about a best friend. Is it something you must discuss and agree on? I love all my friends much. They are too many to describe.”

“I don’t have that, no.”

“I don’t want anyone who uses too much violence. Be friendly, help others, have the patience to understand me despite my language difficulties. But, really, the only thing I really want is to love and be loved equally. ... To not be alone anymore.”

“I am growing closer again to Starfire with every time that we meet again.
With Blackfire, I doubt that it is possible to grow close to her.”

“… It is a nice idea. But I haven’t yet, and I fear doing so. It is difficult, when I will not be able to stay here, when I am often still unsure about understanding my own emotions, and… and the risk of getting a child is also very big.”

“Starfire, or Galfore.”

“All my friends. And Galfore. Because I know they would do the same for me as I would do for them. I believe Galfore has also sworn it to our father.”

“… I don’t know. I was missing for a long time. I think Starfire would miss me. Perhaps my other friends as well, although I would not want anyone to suffer from missing me.”

Oh Ry, my poor sweet little Ry. All that I really would need to give him as advice, though I know that it won’t help a thing, is that he needs to stop thinking so low of himself. He needs to understand and accept that he is capable, that his differences to the typical tamaranean might even be good for a change for a Ruler, that there is nothing wrong with being different.

HISTORY
Past: Koriand'r was the second daughter born to King Myand'r and Queen Luand'r on Tamaran. Despite being the second born child, Kori became the heir to the throne since her older sister lacked the strength that her parents deemed necessary to become queen. Koriand'r grew up wondering why her sister hated her when she had no choice in the whole situation. When they were old enough, they were sent to the Warlords of Okaara to train to become warriors so that they could protect their people and themselves. Koriand'r did not follow when her sister ran away and was almost glad to see her bitter sister leave. This would prove to be a fatal event in her life, as Kom sold secrets to the Citadel, who then used that information to attack Tamaran. The king sold Koriand'r to the Citadel to ensure peace and Kori had to suffer six years of slavery, enduring abuse of all kinds before she was experimented on by the Psions. Koriand'r broke free using her new ability of starbolts (destructive blasts of solar energy) acquired through the experimentation. Against her better judgment, she decided to free Komand'r who was still absorbing energy. However, far from grateful, Komand'r struck her sister down with the same - but much stronger - starbolt power and had her restrained for later execution. Koriand'r escaped and eventually found her way to Earth, where she gained the help of the Teen Titans. She chose to remain with the team and took the name Starfire.

I'm not excusing Kom. Being abused is an explanation to developing into a bad person yes, but it's not an excuse. She doesn't have to be a bitch and a traitor, but she chooses to be one, that's on her.
At the same time, I'm not excusing Kory either, she is being compelled to be this perfect self-sacrificing daughter because deep inside that's less painful than acknowledging that she'll never give enough, they will always want more and more and more of her, it doesn't matter if she gets hurt or burnout. But she could choose to see her parents for what they are.

Titans blackfire
The sisterly reunion quickly escalated into a brawl with Starfire gaining the upper hand and seemingly knocking her elder sister out cold. Stating that imprisonment on such a "backwater planet" is dishonorable, Blackfire had told her sister to do away with her, but Kory refused. Once Kory and Garfield had discovered the underground facility, Blackfire and Starfire had a talk about the other always having one up over the other ever since their girlhood. Despite her weakened and powerless state, the rogue tamaranean princess still managed to activate some of her natural mental/psionic/extrasensory abilities to implant visions of her whereabouts into her younger sister's mind and take over her for a time. Three months later, Blackfire was overpowered and detained by Earth's scientists due to her hostile, sadistic nature. As the woman's body started morphing into Blackfire, a man was going to tell her about the cart, only to be punched back by her fist, then she makes her eyes glow lavender for a moment before she walks away with an evil smile. Arrival on Earth Īfter a human woman puts her kids in the car and prepares to put her groceries in the trunk, Blackfire uses tamaranean-tech to possess her body. Claiming she now found her own family, she welcomed Kory's threats. She revealed that she claimed the throne for herself and murdered their parents. Eventually, Blackfire was discovered, which ultimately caused the mercy killing of Faddei. Imposing as Faddei, Blackfire attempted to convince Kory to return to Tamaran to possibly rule as queens together. When the mission became prolonged due to unknown circumstances, Blackfire took matters into her own hands using deadly Tamaranean-tech to possess Faddei's body. The search for Koriand'r īlackfire's hologram speaks to Kory on Earth.įollowing the high demand that her sister claim the throne, Blackfire sent Faddei to Earth to retrieve Kory and bring her back to Tamaran. There was also a time when she found out about Kory's relationship with a royal guard, Faddei, and nearly had him castrated. She had difficulties making friends and was often made fun of, especially by her sister.īecause the royal ability to absorb and project fire was secretly removed from her, she was often underestimated and spent a majority of her life in her sister's shadow. Despite this, Blackfire did not feel loved by her family or people. Both sisters grew up in a royal family and lived customarily privileged lives, complete with servants. In order to maintain the deception, the king had ordered a Tamaranean priestess to magically take the fire abilities from Komand'r and give it to Koriand'r.ĭue to the elaborate lie created by her father, Komand'r endured a rather unfair childhood with her sister. Prior to Komand'r's birth, King Myand'r had deceptively declared that Komand'r's older sister, Koriand'r, had been born with fire abilities and thus was the rightful successor to the throne to dissuade revolution from challengers. Like the rest of her lineage, she had the royal ability of fire. Komand'r was the second child of King Myand'r and Queen Luand'r, in either 1994 or 1995.
