Watched "La nuit de Varennes" (1982) last night and I am still under huge impressions.

I've had this idea since before I started writing on this account, believe it or not :)

You woke up in your apartment, like any other day.

You made yourself breakfast, went to work, came home, had dinner, and went back to sleep. That's a normal day for you.

You live a boring life. You're ok with that, but sometimes you wished it was more exciting.

Today, two people moved into the apartment next door to yours.

You baked them some cookies, and knocked on their door, tray in hand, as a way to welcome them.

Your life was about to get much more exciting.

You knocked on the door, and waited for a response.

The door was opened by a teen with ginger hair. He couldn't have been older than 16. A bit young to be living alone but, eh, it's not your problem.

"Hi there! I live next door, and I thought I'd bring something over for you, kinda like a house warming gift!" You explained to him, handing him the tray of cookies you'd made.

"Oh wow, thanks." He said. "Hey, what's your name?"

"My name?"

"Yeah, my roommate and I... aren't from around here. It'd be nice to have someone to go to if we're ever, y'know, in trouble."

"Well, I guess that makes sense." You said. "I'm (Y/N). Nice to meet you."

"D'you wanna come in?"

"Uh... s-sure!"

This person, this ginger boy... he looks strangely familiar. But you're almost 100% sure you've never seen him before.

You entered his apartment. It was very empty, aside from some very basic furniture. On the couch sat a boy with navy blue hair, petting a cat.

"Hm? Who's that, Ace?" The boy on the couch asked.

"This is (Y/N), they live next door. Oh! And they made cookies for us!"

"Ooh, what kind?"

"Uh, just normal cookies... made from store-bought cookie dough..." You admitted. "Sorry, it's nothing special, but I wanted to do something nice, you know...?"

"No, it's fine, (Y/N)!" The blue haired boy told you. "We really appreciate it!"

"Oh geez, I didn't introduce myself." The ginger boy said. "Uh, my name's Ace Trappola, that's my roommate Deuce Spade, and that's our... cat, Grim."

"Nice to meet you two, o-or three, I suppose!" You sweetly said. "I don't mean to pry into your private lives, but, ah, aren't you two a bit young to be living alone?"

"Sixteen plus sixteen is thirty two, so combined I think we're old enough." Deuce explained. "I think we'll be fine."

"Oh! Ok, well, if you two ever need anything, I'm just next door!"

You decided to go home, since you still need to make yourself dinner. You couldn't help but think, that... Ace and Deuce look really familiar. And you swear you've heard their names before, but... you've never met them before.

"The cookies aren't as good as Trey's, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, since Trey makes his completely from scratch." Deuce said, eating one of the cookies.

"Maaan, it sucks pretending to be a cat." Grim pouted. "I wanna use my magic again!"

"Believe me, so do I." Ace said, sighing. "But hey, we'll be back home soon enough. And we'll be bringing them back home, too."

"Ace, gimme a cookie." Grim demanded.

"Nah."

"WHAT?! GIVE IT NOW!"

"Go eat trash off the ground!"

"Can you two stop yelling?" Deuce asked. "We don't want (Y/N) to know yet, do we?"

Grim grabbed a cookie, and he and Ace glared at each other.

"I do feel a bit sad that they don't remember us, though..." Deuce said, continuing to eat his cookie. "I know they think everything was a dream, and you sorta immediately forget about dreams when you wake up, but..."

"They'll remember soon. If we're lucky... they'll remember once it's too late." Ace smirked evilly.

As the days went on, you got to know Ace and Deuce better. They seemed to be nice enough people, two boys sharing a braincell trying to live alone. Sometimes they'd come over to your place to watch tv (since they didn't have one), in fact, the three of you had a movie night where you watched Alice In Wonderland together.

They would come over and ask you for help with various things, things that you assumed they'd know how to use... but that's none of your business.

Tonight, they made you a cake. They said it was a 'thank-you' gift for all the help you've given them. They mentioned that Grim helped too, but very quickly said it was a joke.

Something about the cake tasted... off.

Oh, but that's fine! Ace and Deuce are stupid teens, after all, they probably just misread the recipe!

You got up from your seat when you finished your slice of cake.

You felt woozy...

"Ace, Deuce, what..." Before you could ask them what they put in the cake, you collapsed onto the floor.

"Nice! It worked!" Grim said, excited.

"Shush, Grim! (Y/N) just collapsed, which probably made a lot of noise, so if the other people in the building hear someone yelling 'iT wOrKeD!' that's probably gonna set off some alarm-bells!" Ace whisper-yelled.

"I guess you're right." Grim admitted.

"The mirror's right there." Deuce pointed to the mirror hanging just above your couch.

"Alright. Deuce, grab their legs. I'll grab their shoulders, we'll carry them into the mirror and bring 'em home." Ace said. "Grim, you just keep a tight grip on me so you don't get lost in some other dimension while we're travelling."

"Got it!" Deuce and Grim responded.

Ace and Deuce grabbed hold of you, lifting you off the ground, and Grim wrapped his arms around Ace's neck.

"Mirror, bring us to Twisted Wonderland!" Deuce comanded. The mirror began to faintly glow... then, the two boys (and the cat monster) carried you into the mirror.

You woke up somewhere unfamiliar.

A strange place.

"They're awake!"

"Hopefully that rough landing wasn't what did it."

"Good morning, (Y/N)! How did you sleep?"

Around you, you saw three people (well, two people and a cat). Ace, Deuce, and Grim. But... they looked different.

Ace had a heart painted over his left eye, Deuce had a spade painted over his right eye, and Grim had blue fire emanating from his ears.

"What's... going on...?" You asked.

"We brought you home with us." Ace told you.

"And now, you're right where you belong. With us, in Twisted Wonderland..." Deuce smiled.

"Don't tell me you don't remember this place!" Grim yelled, surprising you.

"Twisted... Wonderland...? What do you mean...?" You asked.

Suddenly, all the memories came flooding back to you. All the memories of your dream, the dream you had of that magical world... you're there again.

"W-wait a minute! Why am I back here?!" You began to panic. "What's going on?! What did you do?!"

"Ace and I found a way into your world... so we decided to go there, find you, and bring you back home with us!" Deuce happily explained. He gently hugged you, and rubbed his face against yours. "And now, you don't have to leave anymore... you can stay here, with us... forever."

"Aren't you happy to be home?" Ace asked. "Your life in your old world seemed downright miserable! Whatever life you live here, it'll be better than your old life."

"I'm glad you're back, minion!" Grim yelled.

This time, you're not going to be able to return home. Not on their watch.

Twisted Wonderland is your home now.

You should just forget about your old life.

11. Favorite turtle (iteration specific)?

maaan this is a tough question. i think i’ve said before that my Top Favorite Turtle of All Time switches between all the 03 kids, but it’s usually Mikey or Raph. right now I think Raph is my favorite. His 03 characterization is so compelling, he just tugs at my heartstrings in a lot of different ways. I love that he starts at his lowest point early in the show and then we get to see him gradually learn to navigate his feelings and connect with the people around him. He's doing his best to figure out his place in the world, he feels like a very real depiction of what it's like being a neurodivergent teen (okay I know I'm projecting now but also I'm right). The sibling angst can hit a little close to home sometimes but I also look at him and think "oh that kid is gonna be okay. he's just figuring it out." Yknow??

It’s Mikey is anyone surprised. Like. That’s my funny little guy!!

I think he brings something new to the table with every incarnation. Like, the rest of the boys feel like they mostly have the same core traits across iterations, but I get the sense that most Mikeys are different from each other on a more fundamental level. They all have different ways of thinking and flaws and I find them all to be very compelling and entertaining to watch :]

Raph is a close second though! Again, who is surprised qwq

18. Did any of their voice actors really stand out to you?

Ahh omg I'm actually so glad you asked this one anon. I pay a lot of attention to the voice acting so just going in loose chronological order:

Obviously Rob Paulsen is a fucking gem who brought Raphael to life and p much singlehandedly made '12 Donnie likeable (sorry the writers did all that to you buddy). But man I don't see enough love for Barry Gordon as Donatello! He brings such a particular vibe to the character that's so endlessly endearing I just think it's funny that he's kinda the meanest one but he sounds like the littlest fucking guy ever

Michael Sinterniklaas as Leo is so fucking charming I just. Holds him gently. I like how confused he sounds all the time. I like his little laugh he does in the scene where they're playing with the hose. I like his "it's okay!" line in The Ultimate Ninja. I like that he's going for grinditude. I like him so bad ToT And Sam Riegel as Donny is wild because I think he sometimes has the weirdest line reads--not in a bad way, just like, why did you say it like that. I'm forever obsessed with him.

Rewatching 2007 movie was so wild I could barely focus with how many voices I recognized in there. Sarah Michelle Gellar as April was really fun. With Mako as Splinter okay I may as well just cry myself to sleep

Greg Cipes and Ashley Johnson characters are literally their own ship dynamic like whatever that is I don't care they invented it

The entire Rise cast is sooo good I adore every one of them the comedy just legitimately would not work without them. Not a bad line read in that whole show tbh. I'm particularly fond of Josh Brener as Donnie for that autistic-ass delivery. Also cannot stress enough how great Ayo Edebiri and Zelda Williams are too like the entire cast just has such a good vibe

I MEAN. It's hard to choose they all deserve a hug!! But I am not much of a hugger and neither are a lot of the characters who need the most hugs. So I think... Rise Mikey or Alopex maybe? I think that they would give very good hugs.

It was a shock when I first got to know him, he actually lets me speak unlike anyone I have ever met and he actually listens and answers in the most considerate way I've ever heard, he is always so calm and poise, that was the first thing I noticed, then I noticed how down to earth he is, how nice and human he is, how sweet he is, and how funny he is. I love his laugh and my biggest flex is that I have made him laugh countless times, every time I see him or even just enter his presence it's like entering into a whole new realm of peace, he just has that thing about him.

I do NOT encourage any type of pedophilia, this blog is not something I'm proud of, but I have it for venting and diary type'a purposes, and to feel less alone, hopefully, I can bring that feeling to more people as well:)

The many layers of learning to respect my own boundaries

As a society, we are very well aware of that epiphany of mental health clarity that happens both in real life, and in the media we love. It's the inspiring, falling-action power move in every Hallmark movie, where the unlucky doormat protagonist finally turns around and says to their boss from hell, "you know what? You're right, I don't belong here. I belong somewhere 10 times better! I quit, and also, you're a massive dickwad 😜". What we're less aware of, and where the truly hard and exhausting work to get better and feel better comes in, is after that moment where it happens again to their family life, and again to their social life, and again to the mirror when they regret the shitty impulse decisions they keep repeating every single time. I am incredible at standing up to bosses; I will be working only the documented scheduled hours agreed upon in my employment contract, and also in adherence to this contract I do not accept responsibility for anything outside of this schedule. If an incident occurred after my scheduled shift ended and I had already left, and management failed to coordinate coverage for that time, i am legally not at fault for that incident, and it's against federal labor law to punish me for it. I am very confident asserting myself in partner relationships; yes, I love you, and that love means respect—I respect you enough to treat you in a healthy way, the way I want to be treated, and I also respect myself enough to demand that respect from you in return, end of story. I thought I was the fucking master at boundaries, but as it turns out, I still have so much more to learn 😅 so now I present to you todays lesson, told through yet another confusingly metaphorical conversation: revoking the privilege to overstep my boundaries from a friend I didn't realize I was letting do it.

...but no, I do not think Crosshair would name his weapons (bows and swords alike)

In The Witcher world/lore there are no rules for naming items (including weapons as anything could be named!).

Sometimes the name is, indeed, to punctuate the importance/special quality of the item, sometimes the name is given out of spite, while the most common “branch” of names (in the books - that is) are the gag/sarcastic ones.

Furthermore, in The Bad Batch TV show, I do not recall Crosshair to ever address his sniper rifle by any name (not even by it’s manufacturer’s name - Firepuncher - correct me if I’m wrong, tho!)  thus I assume, he wouldn’t do that in the crossover.

SIDE NOTE: Historical bows (like reflex bows or longbows) do not really need “re-calibration”. What they do need, however, is a proper/special care and maintenance as damaged bows (arrows too) are extremely hard (if almost impossible) to fix. “Re-calibration” is more of a “modern” issue as bows, such as compound bows, have lots of additional parts to aid archers in aiming and loosing arrows.

ok so honestly i absolutely ADORE it. i had this massive pirate hyperfixation as a kid but like so many of the pirate related entertainment (aside for things i enjoyed as a kid) felt so... ehh, y'know? like it always felt so masked, like it was hiding something. but this reminds me of why i loved the idea of pirates in the first place as a kid!!! and taking this idea of pirates and then introducing this idea of like one's gender (and expectations associated with it), sexuality, the idea of like piracy being an escape from the expectations forced upon you like as soon as you're born, like we need more stories like that!!! i absolutely love the dynamics of these characters and honestly it just makes me feel so SEEN, and also i just really like that they're shying away from the blackbeard stereotypes. like i know he's practically a mythical figure but the stuff people will unironically say about him are quite frankly astonishing compared to the factual stuff we know about him. he may have been a real person constantly shrouded in all this mythology but i think the depiction of him in this show is one of the most respectful ones there *are* of him! like in his case i think it's only fair to take artistic liberties to look at him from another perspective. just overall though i absolutely LOVE that this show's going against that hypermasculine norm people resort to wayyy too much in pirate stories. and i also fucking love jim oh my god. they're like a natural progression from previous uses of that trope like the surprisingly curvaceous pirate from pirates! band of misfits if you've seen that one which i feel is definitely a movie this reminds me of?? i just,, oh maaan i fucking love this show. i gotta go to class but if i know me this is absolutely going to be something i finish watching by the end of the week and then immediately rewatch because this is honestly fucking amazing <3 <3 <3 i'm surprised i didn't start watching it as soon as people started posting about it!!!!! absolutely incredible :)

PRANKED (Chase Brody X Reader X Marvin) An Early April Fools Special

First Oneshot with the egos shall be SAD DAD and The Magnificent Magician. 

Warning: Wholesome Pranks Ahead. ;)

It was April Fools and you decided to hide at the egos’ house. Unfortunately, the pranks didn't stop. Fortunately, they were orchestrated by Chase and Marvin.

"TRICK SHOT!" Chase yelled while throwing a Teddy bear over the couch. It lands in your lap and you flinch, not expecting the extra weight in the bear. 

You pick it up and examine it, finding a zipper in the back. You pull the zipper and inside the bear was wrapped chocolates. 

"Aww, that's sweet of you guys," Marvin started snickering while Chase was still celebrating over his amazing trick shot.

"Mind if I join the festivities?" 

"Oh heck yeah! We need someone to pin it on," Chase joked, you laughed.

"I'm glad you guys are doing the pranking this year,"

"Yeah, it's WAY more fun to juke people out with something wholesome with something even MORE wholesome! The reactions are the best!" Chase exclaimed.

"Yeah and Anti was banned to do any pranks after the uh, 'body' incident," Marvin pointed out, you nodded. 

"True. Welp, I'll get the silent party poppers!" You announce, turning to walk to your bag.

"THEY MAKE THOSE?" Chase exclaimed in surprise.

"Yeah, you just got to ask the right people,"

 

First victim on your list, Henrik. He's once again overworking himself, so you three decided to gently remind him he needs a break. 

You count down from 3 with your hand before you all pulled the strings on the silent party poppers, confetti raining down on the good doctor and his office.

"Vhat zhe-" He's cut off from swearing up a storm by the confetti moving on its own and turning into a mini confetti tornado. The confetti disappears, replaced by a large bouquet that landed on the doctor’s desk. The doctor stared at it before shaking his head with a small smile.

"Alright, you got me," He admitted while the two egos high-fived each other and you approached the doctor with a big ole teddy bear.

"You gotta take a break doc," Henrik raised a brow. 

"But zink of all zhe injures! April Fools is full of dangerous pranks and-" You cut him off by giving him the bear.

"Breaks are good though. Can't have ze good doctor all stressed out," He takes the bear and looks at you before sighing.

"Fine," 

"Excellent! Onward, to our next victim!" 

"Whoo!" And with that, the three of you leave the office. Henrik watches as you leave before hugging the bear, a smile appearing on the doctor’s face.

Anti stared at the bear with a neutral expression while you three watched from a distance. You had given him a teddy bear with a little knife while his back was turned and he's been staring at it ever since. Sure, he may not be allowed to prank on April fools but that doesn't mean he shouldn't get a wholesome prank either.

"Is he… okay?" You ask slightly concerned.

"Knowing him he's trying to figure out how it's a trap," Marvin muttered, Chase nodded in agreement.

"Let's just leave him be. He'll realize it one way or another," You nod and sneak away from the suspicious demon.

Throughout the day, the trio had pranked everyone. Jackie got a thank you card from someone he saved and nearly crushed Marvin while hugging him and thanking him profusely. Robbie got another stuffed animal and he was hugging it all day. Marvin got Jamesons watch to work again and the mute man was ecstatic.

Shawn got Cuphead and Mugman plushies, he hugged the crap out of all of you. Bingsepticeye got an upgrade and was SOOO happy! There are so many others to list but they ended up becoming really happy.

"Phew, that's all of em. Who knew wholesome pranks would be so tiring?" You couldn't help but agree with Chase who collapsed onto the couch. 

"Well at least everyone’s happy, at least, I think Anti's happy?" Marvin wondered, Chase suddenly sat up.

"Aw crap! I forgot to record their reactions! Maaan…" Chase muttered disappointed, Marvin frowning. The reactions would've been a good memory to keep.

"Well, you're in luck," You take out your phone and hand it to Chase. While Chase and Marvin watched the recorded reactions of their fellow egos, you ran off to grab something from your car. 

"Haha! We should have a movie night where we just show this," Chase suggests, Marvin smirks.

"That sounds great," As soon as Marvin said that, you came back with a pretty old book and handed it to Marvin. He took one glance at the cover and stood up surprised.

"Where'd you get this?" He asked bewildered.

"Illinois gave it to me, said the previous owner didn't need it anymore," You explained, Marvin grinned, put down the book, and hugged you. Chase saw an opportunity and took it, hugging both you and Marvin. 

"Thank you Y/N," 

"Yeah, you're the best!"

"Hey, you're the one who came up with the wholesome pranking idea, not me. Now, who wants to eat chocolate and watch comedy shows?" You ask, pointing to the teddy full of chocolate. They agreed and you ended up watching comedy shows all day, that's one way to spend April fools.

favorite character to write

Ooooh, good question! I love writing each member of our SPR team for different reasons, buuut... if I *had* to pick...I think I have the most fun writing Bou-san? He's just so spontaneous! His antics and wise cracks are just such a joy to incorporate into a scene. I feel like he springs to life in my head, and I'm just along for the ride. But then there's a side of him that's so passionate, and caring, and gentle...in case you can't tell, his dynamic with Mai is one of my very favorites to write <3 Ah, I have so much love for our Monk :)

fave trope to write

Ho ho ho, I'm a trope queen. You'll probably see them weaved all through my writing I hope you like tropes loool :D Picking one to rise above them all? Partners (work/school) to lovers. That “mutual pining” vibe is my thiiing. You know, they see each other everyday in a very ordinary way (or in some cases in very intense situations, like say...life or death ghost hunting? ^_^) and slowly grow accustom to each other, learn their likes/dislikes, their quirks...accepting them (you know you gotta work to make the partnership work right?), until they don't just accept them...they loooove them <3 They live in this “some” state: something is going on, but it's so quiet or fragile they don't name it. They just keep letting grow, and things like no-personal-space and “casual” touching start to happen. Oh wow. I could go on and on. But yes, partners to lovers. That's my ultimate trope I think! I mean: Mairu anyone? ;)

what inspires your fic ideas?

Oh gosh, I don't think I've ever been asked this? Good one! Let me think...well, inspiration alone can be very hard to come by. I have to say the reason my GLM chapters get put out is 90% because my readers inspire me to keep going, and when I'm in that “inspired” state...the ideas just seem to start flowing? It's so very hard-- for me at least-- to write without some sort of inspiration, either from my readers, or from the content it's self. That kind of leads me to the more conventional answer to this question: usually my ideas are inspired from the content I'm writing for. I love writing missing scenes or alternate scenes from canon-- especially in giving them a shippy angle/twist :) I love re-imagining whole storylines, or endings. I am a fix-it-fic kind of girl. Like make it as bad you want: I will make it better. With content I love, I always feel like the characters are living their lives behind the scenes...like there's always so much else to explore? Like canon is just a spring board-- and I'm ready to dive in deeper! That's why the style of GLM is like it is: it's a new “episode” to enjoy, a new case! I actually have many plot bunnies kicking around that are similar to GLM, more Ghost Hunt case fics-- I just love playing with “what if”...what if things had continued-- what would that look like for SPR? And of course, you can count on *my* what ifs always including shippy prospects :D Finally, inspiration for certain scenes, tropes, quotes, storylines, characters, ect... often those come from my consumption of all the swoony media I can get my hands on. Kdramas. Rom-com movies. Jane Austen. I'm a hopeless romantic.

any fics planned?

The short answer: yes! :D As I hinted above, I do have some plot bunnies that have been “haunting” (hahaha) me. They're Ghost Hunt plot bunnies, mostly case-fic that would be multi-chapter projects. But some shippy one-shots have also been winking at me, teasing me to write them (Mairu, Bou-san x Ayako, John x Masako *gasps*, Lin x Madoka). I have a document that I use to collect all my ideas, so that I can go back to them. For now, I'm trying to stay loyal to GLM. I write so slow, I'm afraid if I took some of that time to churn out one-shots...I may never get a new chapter out XD But anywho, yes I definitely have other fics planned. I hope once GLM is finished, you might continue with me on new writing adventures with our SPR team <3

fave line in a fic you wrote?

I'm blushing. I don't think I could pick a line? But I do have favorite scenes! Mainly Mairu ones, but some of those Mai and Bou-san ones...oh my gosh, I even crack myself up XD I'll round up some of my top faves for you:

Mai and Naru at the end of chapter 23. All that Mairu goodness after the “blood rain”, standing at the sink together...face-to-face arguing out of worry...oh,yeah. [chef's kiss]

Mai and Bou-san in chapter 11 & 12. Chicken and apples, need I say more? looool

Mai and Naru at the end of chapter 19 after Wise Obasan has locked them in Miss Miyuki's cellar...and Naru carries Mai out of the house (in front of the whole world!!), all the way to the Inn, and tops it off with admitting he gave Mai his moon lily. Dang. [fans self]

Naru's return in chapter 27. After such a long wait, he shows up at the end of chapter all disheveled and hot and like steals Mai's tea (indirect kiss!!) and then he and Mai have it out in the hall (just kiss already) and finally it looks like he's going to kiss her but oops he's actually fainting...

Ayako & Bou-san taking care of Mai while she was sick in chapter 20, oh gosh it always warms my heart I just love their family dynamic <333

Okay: throwing in a John!Masako moment here, but it really is one of my favorites. It's subtle, because of course, but also in chapter 23, the moment where John so gallantly throws himself over Masako during the “blood rain”, protecting her. Awwww!

More recently, the scene at the end of chapter 30 where Naru walks in on Mai's “séance” with Madame Miyuki. The intensity!! The english!! Oh maaan.

And finally, naturally-- the scene in chapter 31 where Naru nearly makes Mai flip out when he offers to “take it off” but haha it's just the tag on her dress, but then it's sad hours and Mai is crying, but don't worry because Naru wipes them away?! Ahhh the tenderness!!

Goodness wow I went overboard, but really just thank you for this ask! Your love and support means so much to me!! Really!!
