Teen Wolf 1st Watch - 1.12 to 2.04 (?)

I’m still worried about the adult men of Teen Wolf, to be honest. Except you, Sheriff, you’re fine sweetie. And Coach. Coach might be my favourite character in the entire show. His reaction to the chains unfurling from Stiles’ locker? Perfection!

I love the hot dads (and uncles) of Teen Wolf, they are ridiculously hot, but if this was real life, their behaviour would be really questionnable.

I need all of you to stay at least one arm’s length away from any and all teenagers who are not your children, all right?

Breakdown of things that delighted and/or worried me in this block of episodes.

Peter

To my surprise — but absolutely no one else’s — I loved Peter. I fully expected to adore him later (spoiler alert!), but his first appearance wasn’t promising. Ugh, who does that vain, selfish guy think he is? 

I had the same reaction to Andrew Scott’s Moriarty, and within five minutes I was in love.

So: yeah, terrifying and creepy. But he’s so amusing and weird (and Ian Bohen is just leaning into it so gleefully) that I love him. Can’t wait for him to come back.

On the “inappropriate with teenagers” list:

Complimenting Allison’s skin like he wants to wear it is both hilarious and much too creepy. Good job trying to be charming Peter!

Biting Lydia then lying on top of her with your face less than a foot away from Stiles? Uncomfortable.

Offering to bite Stiles while holding up his wrist like a Victorian vampire? Yeah, Stiles/Peter is in my top-3 OTP.

Chris

I will never stop loving JR Bourne. The voice, the eyes, the smile… Yeah, big crush. (And he is doing a marvellous Moriarty-level crazy job on Mayans, MC if that’s your kind of thing. Weirdly obsessed with wolves again over there too.)

I’m a bit confused by one sequence in 2.01, though: the grey-scaled scene where he breaks a car window (it better not have been Melissa’s car, Chris), drags Scott (a werewolf, so super strength?) out through the broken window, and threatens to kill him. Was that a flashback or a dream? I find it hard to believe it really happened. And then idiots Scott and Allison kept seeing each other in secret. (I believe it from Scott, but I thought Allison was smarter than that.)

On the “inappropriate with teenagers” list:

Shoving Stiles against a wall and getting much too close to his face in 1.12.

Shoving Scott against the fridge to threaten him the second time he has dinner at his house, risking being overheard by Colonel Tigh in season 2. (Does that make Chris a Cylon?) 

And this one is not being inappropriate with teenagers, but still really irresponsible: 

Using the Hale house as a training site and base of operations for the hunters. He knows Derek is still in town, right?

Leaving Allison (his darling daughter) tied up in the abandoned Hale house with a single young hunter. At night. So much could have gone wrong. How much do you trust that young man? How much do you trust Derek not to come back and get revenge? We know Derek better than that, but does Chris?

I’m not even mentioning the many times he’s been face-to-face with Jackson: at the end of season one, looking down at Jackson on his knees in the woods with that smirk; and putting his arm around Jackson’s shoulder to escort him out of the Hale house (did I mention THE HALE HOUSE?) in season 2. 

And God bless the directors or camera operators who linger on his ass at every opportunity. Thank you for your service.

Derek

Oh my God, Derek. Where do I start?

Maybe with the super weird way Peter’s death was filmed? Derek straddles him to finish him off, fine. But then he stands, one foot on either side of the corpse while he looks over his shoulder at the others and flashes his red eyes? Why was that blocking so weird? 

Derek gets a brand new personality in season 2. Does the Alpha power come with the personality of the person who had it before you? Because Derek with about 10-15% of Peter’s swagger is fun, but then it goes up to maybe 30% and that’s too much. The only times he felt like season 1 Derek was in his scenes with Stiles.

On the “inappropriate with teenagers” list:

Isaac. I wouldn’t say “inappropriate” so much as needlessly callous. Derek knows Isaac’s father abused him, but he roars in his face and completely terrifies him, then in a later episode, “trains” him by hitting him over and over again. Not cool, dude.

Erica. I suppose she is about 16, like Stiles and Scott, right? So what the fuck is adult Derek doing when talking to her in the morgue, stroking her calves and ankles, then grabbing her ankles and pulling her towards him, her legs either side of his hips? With the statutory rape in his past, shouldn’t he be trying not to use the seductive method to get teenagers on his side? Ugh. And because both actors are so clearly adults, the scene read as really hot, which made it extra disturbing. Thanks, I hate it.

Erica again. She jumps him and kisses him, hoping to distract. Fine, not his fault. But he kisses back for a really long time before he pushes her off. And when he does push her off, it is much too violent. I like Derek, and I get why he’s doing this, but I really, really don’t like it.

Erica, again (again). Derek looks like the douchebag twenty-something “dating” the 16-year-old when he picks Erica up at school. It’s on purpose to rile up Scott, but still. Ewww, Derek.

(Were the Stiles/Derek shippers already very active after season 1? Because this seems almost like overcompensating from the writers. I’m old enough to remember Smallville and the way Michael Rosenbaum was way too flirty with the 16-year-old boy in season 1 and in season 2 they had Lex pretty much marry 2 women. This feels like that.) 

Other random stuff:

Lydia is still my favourite of the kids, equal or a little bit ahead of Stiles.

Scott really needs to prioritize survival over Allison. Really. Stop thinking with your dick, man.

Jackson. Oh my god, Jackson. Calm down. Go to therapy. I don’t know, come out of the closet? You need help buddy, you are insufferable. 

Yay, ghost Peter! Now if he could speak a bit that would be great.

Victoria is terrifying. It’s kind of fun to discover that her husband is a big marshmallow while she is ice-cold flint. (Silver and Flint, ha!)

Who is creepy photographer guy? And why does he look about 35 when he’s meant to be a high school student?

Just watched teen wolf the movie and like I just can’t with it

-For starters why is Harris alive and was he the one to have set dereks house on fire 20 years ago? I guess we’ll never know

-Also I do not like when characters come back from the dead so I don’t like the whole Allison thing and on the topic of Allison I’m so confundled. Like how was she so easily able to break free of the nogitsune’s hold on her mind although one good part of the movie was how badass she was

-Also the kitsune being able to share its power? Since when. That really confused me can’t lie. Also how come the nogitsune was able to become that ugly mole rat werewolf when it clearly said in season 3 that you couldn’t be a fox AND a wolf

-We also had the whole stydia thang which was super annoying. Like why would Lydia leave stiles just because of some dreams or maybe premonitions. And what did stiles think of this? Like are they never going to see each other ever again.

-Also Eli I loved him and his character was a great balance of stiles and derek. However who the hell was his mother because it wasn’t even mentioned at all. And I didn’t get how Eli was 15 like did everyone just leave beacon hills and immediately Derek just went and had a baby

-Malia and Parrish being a thing was so weird because it felt random and we don’t know how it ends for them on whether or not they become official. Malia just always seems to get shipped with people, there was Malia and stiles for a bit and then there was Malia and Scott which had seemed like it would last

-Also on the topic of Scott I just can’t believe he hadn’t gotten over Allison after 15 years like it’s insane. And for Scott’s sake I’d really wished he would’ve moved on and found someone new

-Also what was going on with Mellisa and Chris. We ended season 6 with them together and what seemed to be happy but suddenly in this movie they’re split and it was basically barely mentioned

-Also how was deaton able to get the nogitsune out of Chris’s head so easily? And why couldn’t he have done the same with Allison? Or even stiles in season 3A?

-Ummm also why did derek have to die because it felt unnecessary. Also by fire? Like Peter survived being set on fire so couldn’t the nogitsune have a swell

-And I know I should give some credit for the movie, and I do but a movie just felt wrong in some way. Like everything was so rushed and things happened too quickly. I wish they’d made it as like a short series (probs like 6 episodes long)

-Lastly I knew going into this movie that stiles wasn’t going to be in it and I understand he doesn’t need to have been for it to have been good. But some scenes really did feel lacklustre without stiles, like the ending on the lacrosse pitch. Because that scene felt weird, no one seemed to care that Derek had just died and it took them all too long to go and comfort Eli

-However on a good note I did like getting see everyone back together again and I loved getting to see Peter because I love him. And obvi loved to see coach as well.

I dont do ships. I do reader imagines or if youd like to add a name to your request then ill more than happily do it like that.

I will do imagines on plus sizes readers. I will do imagines for family imagines as well and platonic ones too.

I don’t write many crossovers at all! I have some mcu/teen wolf cross overs, I have a teen wolf/glee cross over plotted (that i’ll probably never write), but my strangest is probably this teen wolf/x-men cross over!

sometimes! I don’t write a lot of smut because I actively dislike writing it, but the smut I do write is super super soft and sappy and full of emotions lol

9) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I respond to almost all of my comments! comments i won’t respond to: negative comments, unsolicited criticism, comments that aren’t relevant to the fic itself, comments simply asking for more 

I love love love responding to comments! I love every single comment that I get and I want to show how much I appreciate getting them, and personally I think responding to comments is the only way to do that! everyone has different comment philosophies, but for me, if someone is taking the time to comment on my fic like I so badly want them to, I think it’s important to respond to show my appreciation! 

10) Have you ever received hate on a fic?

aha YEAH I DO. this past weekend I actually got a number of shitty comments and had to file two ao3 abuse reports for harrasment (: I love it

I am no stranger to hate comments. I write copious amounts of age difference fic. I write copious amounts of incest. I am not going to apologize nor am I going to feel bad for enjoying either.

ughhh I sure as heck hope not!

Yes! I have a number of them :) I always always do my best to make sure it’s linked to the original fic, AND that I add a tag noting that there’s a translation!

I have made a few attempts! the only successful attempt is there's nothing i wouldn't do to make you feel my love which is a collaboration with @flightinflame, not quite a co-write!

god okay this is such a good question! imma ramble about a few so bear with me here! (i may have 700 posted works but I also have a few hundreds wips & ideas floating around in my gdrive, too)

gone & past - this is a starrish wip i’d started in 2017. I ended up deleting it from ao3 to rewrite it and never got there, but I have about 20k of content! I built my home, inside of you - thorki human au with college jock thor and high school dancer loki. i’ve got a start and nothing else Sheriff Stilinski Gets Some Sweet Sweet Lovin’ - massive wip where... well, the sheriff fucks his way through the entire pack. I want to write it but. trans allison au - this is an au where allison is trans and that changes the entire season 1 canon. it features stallison, petopher, and a looooooong ass outline that will never exist beyond my wips You Fill My Heart (With Such a Gentle Love) - this is a stetopher a/b/o au with pregnant omega stiles and alpha pair petopher falling in love. it started as a labour of love to someone I no longer have in my life. I have about 30k, a full outline, but idk. makes me sad to think about it they slipped briskly into an intimacy from which they never recovered - this is my big x-men first class rewrite that I honestly don’t think i’ll ever finish. I have a few thousand words, a full outline, but no love lost for cherik so. doubtful Physiotherapy (I'll Be Your Baby) - this was a fic I was SO excited about, and then it kinda flopped and stayed a wip because I didn’t have a plan or the motivation to finish it. it’s a winterspider human au with amputee bucky and science twink peter that I adore the premise of but who knows breathing you in chapter 2 - I have a massive second chapter planned for this fic but the first did so good so fast I am way too intimidated to write more in case everyone hates it lmao

16) What are your writing strengths?

ughhhhh I hate answering this because I have, like, seriously bad imposter syndrome around my writing BUT I do think i’m able to weave poignant backstory into narration & i write strong, distinctive narrative voices!

17) What are your writing weaknesses?

literally I can’t write settings at all. I don’t know how people vividly describe settings but I absolutely cannot do that and it’s one of the reasons I haven’t delved into original fiction. I need to write the town my characters live in?? fuck that imma just use a location we’ve seen on screen & let readers fill in the blanks lmao

I am also shit at long fic. I don’t have the mind for long and interesting plots, and I don’t have the focus to write long fic (which is why every long fic i’ve ever posted has taken me literal years to complete smh).

18) What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I like it! both as a reader and as a writer. as a writer, I generally only use a few words, or small sentences that can be understood by context, and I generally don’t

This is going to sound really stupid lol but I’ve been thinking of so many RWBY AUs and my mind keeps going over a Teen Wolf AU where Jaune is Scott and Ruby is Stiles. I think that each RWBY character would be a variation of different characters. For example, Yang and Ruby would share characteristics and storylines of Stiles, but Yang would also share a few storylines and characteristics of Lydia with Weiss, though Weiss would be the banshee.

In my mind Ruby would have the Stiles characteristics of being loyal to Jaune, being smart and wanting to protect her friends, while Yang would have the fierce protectiveness, sarcasm and need to investigate people if she doesn’t trust them. Ruby would probably be Jaune’s (Scott) best friend and get the Nogitsune and ghost rider disappearance storyline, while Yang would get Lacrosse, issues dealing with her mum’s (Summer Rose) death (ruby would have moments of that too but she was a lot younger) and mistrusting new members of the group storylines. Yang would also have Malia’s finding out who her parent is storyline with it obviously being Raven.

Qrow and Raven would be Chris and Kate. Raven would be portrayed as a horrible person and mother but that’s canon so not much has changed lmao. Tai would obviously take on the role of Sheriff Stilinski and instead of Summer Rose dying of an illness like Stiles’ mum she dies a bit like in the show except it won’t be a huntress job it’ll be an ordinary police thing. There would be heavy emphasis on how much Tai loved Summer (it’s one of my favourite ships!) I don’t really know who would be Melissa because we don’t know Jaune’s mum but I guess it doesn’t have to be his mum it can be anyone. The only person I can think of at the moment is glynda goodwitch but I don’t know 😂 Ozpin would be Deaton probably and Pyrrha would be Allison, though she wouldn’t have a connection to Qrow she would probably be from another hunter family.

Blake and Adam would probably be Derek and Peter and Oscar would be Liam. Mercury would be Theo I think.

Since Yang has a few Stiles characteristics and Weiss is basically Lydia we could have Freezerburn. We could also have Lancaster and Blacksun though I don’t know who Sun could be. He could have his own place or he could have some Braeden storylines. I don’t really know lol.

This is really dumb but it was in my head and I had to write it down before I went crazy with all the daydream scenarios I was making up 😂 it probably makes no sense.

Teen Wolf triads are something that can be so personal, so here’s a list of my faves 

Scott/Stiles/Allison

The OG trio. The gang that dies together might not stay together, but they’re still iconic.

Scott/Stiles/Lydia

Any Scott/Stiles/X dynamic is brilliant, but few more than this one. These three have been there since the beginning and they’ve gone through so much together. There’s no Teen Wolf without them. 

Scott/Stiles/Derek

They were the driving force in S1&2 and had some absolutely iconic moments together. Hate that there wasn’t more of them after that. 

Scott/Derek/Isaac 

Mostly based on S2/3. I was very invested in Isaac’s struggle to pick between these two. 

Scott/Stiles/Isaac

This triad’s dynamic completely changes between S2 and 3. In Season 2, Isaac, as part of Derek’s pack is a slightly antagonistic figure and it’s very much Scott&Stiles vs Isaac but in S3, Scott and Isaac grow closer while Isaac and Stiles erm, don’t. It’s very fun to watch. 

Scott/Isaac/Allison

My ot3 and the only trio on this list that I 100% ship. 

Isaac/Erica/Boyd

Ayy, it’s the OG Hale Pack aka 3 teens bonding over being thrown headfirst into something they weren’t prepared for and Derek’s horrible leadership. Isaac should’ve ran away with Erica and Boyd for solidarity’s sake. 

Chris/Allison/Isaac

Chris’s struggle between hating Isaac for dating his daughter and wanting to adopt him is hilarious. One of my favourites. 

Scott/Melissa/Isaac

 Who didn’t completely melt at Isaac joining the McCall fam? The scene where they’re ‘guarding’ Melissa was so cute. As a bonus, it made Stiles’s animosity towards Isaac that much stronger. Will forever hate that this trio was more or less non-existent in 3b even though I love Chris/Allison/Isaac. 

Derek/Cora/Peter

The non-dead Hales. Why oh why did Cora have to leave? Their family dynamic was great. 

Allison/Lydia/Cora

I know they only had a couple scenes as a triad, but there was so potential. We love antagonism with underlying sexual tension. And ofc, the only thing better than 1 terrifying badass that can secretly be super sweet is 3 terrifying badasses. 

Derek/Isaac/Boyd

At one point, the only non-dead members of the Hale Pack (TW quickly amended that). I always think of the S3a Loft scene where Boyd and Isaac skip school to protect Derek. Despite how awful of an alpha Derek’s been, they still care about him and he cares about them (as actual people and not just betas that he needs for power like he did originally)

Derek/Allison/Lydia. 

Yes it’s my 5th s3 based trio in a row, but can you blame me? This is 100% based off the classroom scene in 3x02. 

Allison/Lydia/Jackson

Although Lydia and Jackson were both awful in S1, their friendship with Allison and their immediately taking her under their wing was beyond precious. Additionally, it combines both the asshole-who’s-soft-towards-1-person- dynamic (jydia w/ allison) and assholes-who-secretly-care-about-each-other (jydia) And ofc, the underlying tension due to Jydia’s disdain towards Scott and later, Jackson and Allison’s experiences/knowledge of the supernatural. 

Malia/Kira/Lydia

Comedy gold. Their scenes speak for themselves and we needed more. 

Liam/Mason/Corey

Their S6a dynamic is sooo underrated and should’ve been given more screen time. I loved watching Liam and Corey struggle to get along for Mason’s sake because they want him to be happy. It was all very wholesome and one of the few things that made 6a worth watching. 

Stiles/Scott/Liam

Aka the best part of S4.Their dynamic is so fun and well-balanced and infinitely better because they’re a triad. You’ve got Scott and Liam figuring out their mentor/mentee relationship with Stiles co-parenting and preventing the Scott/Liam dynamic from turning unhealthy. (Liam and Scott’s S6 dynamic veered way too close to parent/child for my taste. They need Stiles to balance it out) It’s also hilarious how quickly Liam accepts being aggressively adopted by two idiots who are barely older than him. And Stiles takes so easily to playing older brother/co-parent. It’s adorable. They’re adorable. 

Erica/Allison/Lydia 

Very similar dynamic to Allison/Lydia/Cora due to Cora and Erica’s similar personalities but also not, which has a lot to do with Allison and Lydia’s reactions to Erica’s weaponized feminity. Also, there’s a lot more history between these girls and I want to know everything about what Erica thinks of Lydia after going to school with her for years. 

Sherriff/Melissa/Chris 

Of the top of my head, I can only remember that time where they were trapped under the Nemeton and that’s simply unacceptable. 

Sheriff/Noshiko/Melissa. 

It’s a crime that this triad never got scenes. Especially after the Sheriff tried to arrest Kira. I know Melissa bitch slapped him but I wanted to watch these two badasses gang up on the Sheriff together. ( the Noshiko/Melissa dynamic would be so iconic.) 

Victoria/Noshiko/Melissa

Another triad that never shared scenes (obviously because Vic is dead) but their power would’ve been off the charts. I want to make a joke about milfs, but I’ll refrain. 

The Yukimura fam

Seemed appropriate since my last two also included. Noshiko.I love family dynamics and the Yukimuras are no exception. The attraction of this triad, for me, is mostly the dynamic between Kira and Noshiko and how Ken navigates between them. They’re also a trio that we didn’t see nearly enough of in S4 and 5. Like seriously, where were they? Noshiko’s on the dead pool, but she’s barely mentioned. (on a mostly unrelated note, how is the 900 yr old Kitsune worth less than a girl that just found about her kitsune powers?)

Derek/Allison/Scott

I don’t need to explain this one. The angst, the drama, Derek projecting Kate onto Allison and Allison trying to murder Derek and their evolution to reluctant allies with a good dash of Scallison and Scott navigating his own difficult relationship with Derek. Aka the complicated, tension fraught trio we all loved/should love. ( ok, I kind of explained it)

Derek/Scott/Liam 

And here we have a two for one deal; two mentor/mentee dynamics in 1 triad. People much smarter than me have written about this trio in extensive detail, so all I’m saying is that Derek’s that one uncle who occasionally comes around and gives somewhat helpful advice. 

Braeden/Malia/Scott 

Braeden and Scott were great in S4. Braeden and Malia were great in S5. Scott and Malia are pretty great when they’re not in a relationship. Combine, and you get what had to be a kick-ass triad that’s sadly never canonly shown together (I think)

Melissa/Chris/Isaac

Not actually featured in the show, but Isaac deserves all the parental figures and I want to witness the surely epic custody battle between Chris and Melissa. 

Malia/Scott/Peter

That this trio is on here is actually pretty funny because I hate both Scalia and the forced Peter/Malia bonding in S6. But I loved the scene where Peter warned Malia not to fall in love with Scott because a) he has absolutely 0 right to advise her on anything and b) because of the history between Scott and Peter. In a way, a relationship with Malia is just another thing tying Scott to someone that’s repeatedly caused harm to him and his friends and was the initial cause for all the pain he’s suffered in the last couple years. I just find this dynamic worth exploring. 

Malia/Derek/Peter

The Hales 2.0. Derek and Malia deserve to bond over unwillingly being related to Peter, that scumbag. 

Malia/Stiles/Peter

Stiles and Peter are so fun together and Stalia is my jam. Throw in an antagonistic Malia and Peter relationship and they’re entertaining as hell. Much more lighthearted than Malia/Scott/Peter.  

Stiles/Malia/Lydia 

To clarify, this has nothing to do with a love triangle and everything to do with how their personalities play off each other. It’s one of those trios where together, they’re either terrifying or absolute morons. 

Stiles/Cora/Derek

Admittedly, my version of this is very Sterek+Cora and the hilarity of Stiles and his attraction to Hales but it’s also 3x snark and you really can’t go wrong. 

Scott/Stiles/Melissa 

It’s Melissa and her boys 1.0. This woman is by far the best parent on this show, and I love the specific dynamic among these three. Melissa might not always like Stiles, but she cares about him and there’s the mutual understanding that they both adore Scott and would do anything for him. Also, Mel being exasperated by the dumbass duo is always funny.  

Kate/Allison/Chris

Lowkey another custody battle because Kate and Chris do fight to be the bigger influence on Allison This is such a tragic trio to me, and the lesson here is basically that sometimes love isn’t enough. Chris and Kate both genuinely love Allison and she loves them too but can’t have both and at some point, she has neither. Kate and Chris care about each other, but that’s not enough either. In the end, they all lose each other. There’s no happy ending for them, at least not with each other. 

Derek/Stiles/Peter

Stiles just has chemistry (not necessarily romantic) with all Hales and this trio really shines through in 3x01 and in S3 in general. “Chess is Stiles’s game” asgdhfjgh. I wanted more of that very specific dynamic.

Summary: Stiles smiled, and kissed Derek's cheek that was closest to him. “I will do anything and everything for those I love. I will.” His smiled widened at Derek's blush. “Well. You know how I felt after that. We didn't lose anyone close to us but we did lose people—I hated myself. But you didn't. Because you saw the person I was before, waiting to be brought back to the surface. And you were right. I am not the same as I was, but, I am better then that.” Derek's hand had found his, and their hands were interlaced, now. Even though he was reliving something he hated to, Stiles couldn't stop smiling.

The place looked completely destroyed.

Derek looked worse.

“What the hell happened here? I leave for one weekend—please tell me no one died!” Stiles seriously hated his life, because that question actually made sense. A terrifying, literal kind of sense, and why was breathing so damn hard now?!

“Oh, shit! No, no, no, it's—everyone's fine. Breathe, Stiles. In and out, in and out...”

Derek's soft voice and his warm, heavy hands on his shoulders grounded him, his breathing resuming it's normal beat alongside his heartbeat. He spared a moment to think of the contrast between the Derek he'd first met six years ago and the one who was in front of him right now.

He kind of hated himself for ever believing that Derek—the biggest marshmallow ever—was a villain. A bad guy.

“The hell happened here?” He asked once he could. Derek signed through his mouth and his jaw tensed, eyebrows knitting together in expression number seven, which meant ‘It was a simple thing, really, but I, being a Sourwolf, didn't use my words and the situation went out of hand and it was really stupid and if I tell you you'll just call me an idiot.’ At least, that's what that look meant to Stiles.

“Well, Scott and Isaac thought—”

This time, Stiles was the one who sighed in resignation. “Derek. How many times have I told you: Scott. Isaac. Thinking Bad. Actually, anyone but me, Lydia, Boyd, Peter and Chris thinking is bad.” At Derek's look, he added, with a roll of his eyes, “Okay, and you too. But only sometimes.”

“Do you want to know or not.” Derek's lack of inflection suggested that he was going to withhold the information from Stiles, and that might actually kill Stiles. Figuratively. Ugh, fuck his life.

“Yes, yes. Do tell, oh wise one,”

Derek just rolled his eyes and tugged him to the middle of the living room, where a mostly okay mattress was the only place to sit. You know, in a once perfectly fine living room.

“It was Scott's idea, originally, or so Isaac says. He wanted to bring back a cat—”

Stiles squealed. “Midnight?!”

Derek glared at him. “You knew.” He accused.

Stiles didn't like that tone. It suggested Stiles was somehow to blame, and he'd been out of town, damnit. “You know, Scott is my friend. And normal people, unlike you, text each other with this device known as a phone. Of course I know! He sent me a picture of the cutesy cat!”

Derek ignored the jab at his hatred to phones. Seriously, Stiles wondered if even the Pack Messages were sent by Erica through his phone. If, you know, Derek didn't like, write in full sentences with whole words like an old man.

“The ‘cutesy cat’ decided that Lydia's hair was the best place to sit on. Then it decided to scratch at her hair. Malia didn't like her packmate in distress, and Scott and Isaac's guilt was suffocating enough without Lydia's death glare at them, and Erica decided filming her would be a good idea. I think you can connect the dots.” Derek told him all of it in a complete monotone, like having an angry Lydia chasing Erica and Malia losing her control didn't affect him at all. Except the evidence of that was all around them, and Stiles was glad that this weekend was his on-field duty.

“I... Don't know what to say. At least we made it four years before this happened. Again.”

The last time the three girls had lost all their control like this was long, long ago, labelled under a box in his brain called ‘Do Not Open. Please.’ He seriously wasn't keen on opening it. Ever.

He kind of felt bad for leaving his Alpha alone to deal with the pack. Sure, said pack were adults, now, most of them in their last year of college and Lydia, being Lydia, was on her path to get her second degree where most people got one but... They really weren't adults. None of them were. Age was just a number, and apparently him and Derek were the ‘Pack Parents’ and the idiots calling themselves Scott, Isaac, Lydia, Jackson, Allison, Boyd, Erica, Kira and Malia were their kids.

Kids who were about to get a whole lot of chores because damnit, Stiles was not going to clean up their mess, and neither was Derek.

Stiles listed all the things he'd made their kids do while Derek listened with his eyebrows knitted together in expression number two, which meant ‘I am listening. I don't want to, but I am, because you're very intense and generally know what you are doing.’

“—and he can clean up the poop!” He finished with a flourish, arms finally coming to rest on his thighs. Phew. That was a lot of flailing, even for him.

Derek gave him a look. “Poop?”

“Poop.” He agreed. When Derek just kept looking at him, he mumbled, “I mean, Scott brought him here. He should be the one to take care of Midnight's excreta and stuff. It's only fair.”

Derek gave him the patented ‘Stiles, I'm going to kill you.’ look. Stiles didn't have to guess. He'd had this look thrown his way everyday since that one fateful night out and about in the preserve that started the werewolfy chapter in his life.

“What?” He asked self-consciously.

Derek didn't use his words, but he made it pretty clear with his gesturing around the once pristine living room what he wanted to say.

“We will train him! Come on, Derek, have a little heart!” He paused. “I mean. Not a little heart. Just more... Feelings. Ugh, well you know what I mean. Please?”

Derek only glared harder, and then for some reason, looked totally nervous. If it were anyone other than Stiles here, they would have thought that Derek just notched up his ‘I'm going to kill you.’ face by, say, a thousand, but Stiles was here. This was totally Derek's nervous face.

Stiles flailed hard, and accidentally hit Derek on his face. “Derek! If I find out either you or your kids killed Midnight, I—I'll divorce the Pack!”

“Why are they my kids when they're potentially cat-killers and your kids when they get good grades? I'm pretty sure you can't divorce Scott and Isaac's puppy eyes.” Derek grumbled, but at least he looked not nervous now. Well, less nervous.

“True,” he agreed, because man, Scott and Isaac were unfair, and added, “I'm the proud parent, dude, and you're obviously the pushover parent. You let them get away with everything.”

“I do not. And don't call me dude.”

“Keep telling yourself that, dude.” He grinned cheekily at Derek's glaring face. Seriously, though, it was true. The massive movie-theater-esque TV in one of the basement rooms was one of the many, many proofs of that.

And Stiles hated himself because he didn't need to say that he thought of him and Derek as parents... where they were like a couple. Sure, there were jokes and all, and they did act like it but... It hurt. It hurt because it wasn't true.

And Stiles wanted it to be.

In a bid to reroute his thinking process, he asked again, “You didn't kill Midnight, did you?”

Derek just rolled his eyes and said “No.” And then suddenly, Derek hauled them both up, and started to pick up the mess that was the living room of the house. “Pick up the cushions,” he said, gruffly, again nervous. Kind of angry—didn't Stiles just spend half-an-hour telling Derek about the chore-table he'd made on the spot—and also kind of disoriented, because what, he did as was told.

And stopped as he picked up the second cushion on the floor. He blinked his eyes, counted his fingers—ten, there were exactly ten fingers on his hands, this was not a dream—because that...

... Couldn't be true. Could it? But he could see Derek giving him small glances as he righted the couch, with ease, the cheating werewolf, and what was Stiles to do but shake as he picked up the card.

The card which addressed Stiles, and asked him, “Will you be my mate?”

Werewolves didn't have a predestined mate. They fall in love like anyone else. But they are part wolves, and instead of calling their significant other boyfriend or girlfriend or partner or whatever, they call them mate.

And it's final. If a werewolf asks you to be their mate, that means they're commited. It's basically a marriage proposal.

The card was blue. Stiles' favourite color, and he should not have teared up at that little gesture. But he did. And he hadn't even opened the thing yet, which, why not?

Tears welled up in his eyes as he read what was written inside, in Derek's clean, neat, cursive handwriting. Stiles might tease the Alpha for not using his words, but when it came to writing down his words... Derek pretty much put the best writers to shame.

“The day I met you I was a mess

And you were full of sass

You annoyed me to death

Made me tempt your fate

I could have killed you

But I am glad I didn't, phew.”

Or maybe it was just his biased heart speaking.  

He started laughing, his arms hitting Derek's chest as he turned around, the Alpha giving him expression number one, which meant ‘I'm hurt but I don't want to show it so I'm going to glare... Harder.’

“Oh, no, no, no, Der, just—phew?” He laughed harder, imagining Derek making that noise, his tough, gruff voice mimicking such a kiddie noise. Huh. Pew pew... Now that made him laugh harder.

When he finally managed to regain his composure, Derek just looked simple ol' annoyed.

“I don't even want to know. Just.” Derek made a ‘go on’ gesture at the card that was still in Stiles' hand, like he wanted him to read it, but also not. Like Stiles was going to reject him. Well, tough luck. He'd been in love with this idiot since he was seventeen, of course he wasn't going to reject Derek. Except maybe he would, because why would someone thrash their own house for a goddamn card?

Or okay, Stiles had to believe that what Derek told him did happen, because he could see Lydia's gorgeous strawberry blonde hair on the floor, but man if Derek didn't use the situation well.

The card told him why. Derek did have a way with words, and with the strings attached to Stiles' heart. He pulled every one of those with his badly written poetry.

Stiles was crying when he was done.

He slowly put down the card on the righted coffee table—Derek had been hard at work, apparently, with his nervous energy and mostly the place looked okay now—and made his way to the other man, and latched onto him like a barnacle. Derek froze for a moment, but with each second that passed, he relaxed, and slowly brought his hands to Stiles' back and rubbed soothing circles, like the human liked.

“I'm sorry,” Derek mumbled after some time, Stiles didn't know how much, and started to pull away. Stiles tightened his hold on the werewolf instead.

“Why? You shouldn't be. You have nothing to be sorry for.” He pulled back just enough to look Derek in the eye. “You don't, Derek.”

Derek didn't look away. Stiles guessed he couldn't. He knew because he was in the same boat.

“I made you wait.”

Stiles chuckled. It was a little watery. “Aw, you aren't being sorry for dragging ‘my human ass in the supernatural mess,’ that's real progress, Alpha.”

“You would have done it anyway. You're too curious for your own good.” Derek replied fondly. But the light atmosphere quickly changed back to the tense one, Derek going back to apologising for making Stiles wait for years, apparently.

“It was Isaac who told me that you've been in love with me for years. I mean I knew you were in love with someone... I thought Lydia at first and then Malia, maybe...”

“So this was Isaac's idea,” Stiles mumbled to himself. But he and Derek were still so close, and Derek heard him.

“Technically.” Derek agreed.

“I am not, you know. Not with them,” Stiles assured. “And... I get it. I'm actually glad you waited. You're... Healed. You were never broken, Der,” he whispered the words. It felt like he should, like they would lose their meaning if he said them louder. And it fit them. With the level of comfort Derek and him shared with each other, Stiles never felt like filling the silences with his chatter. “You were not. You were just in a... Feelings-Coma. You could feel them, but not really feel them, you know? I think. The good ones especially. Not for yourself at least. I hated it but I also get it, you know. After the Nogitsune—”

“You don't have to—”

Stiles smiled, and kissed Derek's cheek that was closest to him. “I will do anything and everything for those I love. I will.” His smiled widened at Derek's blush. “Well. You know how I felt after that. We didn't lose anyone close to us but we did lose people—I hated myself. But you didn't. Because you saw the person I was before, waiting to be brought back to the surface. And you were right. I am not the same as I was, but, I am better then that.” Derek's hand had found his, and their hands were interlaced, now. Even though he was reliving something he hated to, Stiles couldn't stop smiling. “I saw the one you could be, you know. When I took the time to think about you... Voluntarily, that is.”

“I guess I am just that special, then,” Derek said with a small smile on his face.

Stiles rubbed their noses together, cataloguing the way Derek's eyelashes danced around his beautiful eyes. “Yes you are. And you prove it everyday. I still don't know how you could still stay standing after losing everything—everyone. And I respected you for that. I thought I never could have done what you did, and then I got to know you and I... Fell in love with you.”

They stayed like that, in the kind-of cleaned but mostly messy living room of the Hale House, because in Derek's words:

“In all this mess,

You were the unique case.

You made me feel less alone

Like I could walk away from my tomb

Like I was alive and breathing

And feeling like my soul was freeing

From the cage of my broken life

Just because you gave me strife.”

Stiles especially loved the last line. Derek didn't just love him, he loved him despite all the things he's done to make Derek angry—and he's done that a lot. Maybe he could frame that bit, and the next time when he would inevitably get hurt—either from the monster hunting, which was more likely, or his occasional on-field FBI job—he could just show that to his Alpha. Because obviously Derek could never hate him, despite him being a stubborn idiot.

He giggled at the thought, and Derek just sighed.

“No, you're not framing it.”

“Oh, you know me so well, poetrywolf.” Derek sighed again, and Stiles added, “I was thinking I'd kiss you if you'd let me—”

Turns out he'd just kiss Derek for no reason at all. And when did the Sourwolf become such a great kisser?

Hi I saw your post about being a Sterek anti which gave me whiplash because I followed you for mcyt opinions but then found the one other Sterek anti. Do you have any other unpopular Teen Wolf opinions that would really upset people?

I love to hate on Teen Wolf of course I have unpopular opinions. This is basically me hating on the Hales and Argents (minus Chris) for being creeps. Don't get me wrong I love the show but these are things that I can't ignore.

Disclaimer this includes topics such as child predators, grooming, abuse, murder and other similar topics. Don't read this If you really like Teen Wolf and is someone who can hate something based on others opinions.

• Sterek is an awful ship. If Stiles was a woman everyone would be calling Derek a pedo. It's weird because season 1-3 Derek was a creep and season 3-6 Stiles was an awful person. Like they switched.

• Ethan and Aiden sounded cool on paper but were a huge fail. Okay so you can combine and grow..... Is that it? Kinda lame for twin Alphas.

• Theo was a better villain than Void Stiles. He managed to successfully split the entire pack apart turning everyone against Scott including making Scott and Stiles fall out. He then made his own pack, killed them off for their powers, got sent to hell, then came back. Void Stiles was Stiles being possessed by a fox spirit and it not being him in control whereas Theo did kill them, he could control who lived or died. What can Void Stiles do? Play chess, pack it up Bella Swan!

• Stiles isn't my favourite character solely because of his comments about Liam's ied and Issac's abuse trauma. Saying that Issac was milking his trauma after he finally was able to open up about it. Constantly going on about Liam's ied and how he was a bomb ready to explode at all times.

• Peter was an awful person, he tricked Derek into turning Paige and that killed her, Derek was now single and traumatized just in time for child predator Kate Argent to groom him then burn his family, Peter survived the fire, killed even more people, died, manipulated Lydia into helping him come back, came back killed more people and repeat that 4 more times.

• Speaking of awful relationships let's not forget Parrish and Lydia. As in the grown adult police officer and the highschool minor.

• Stiles name is Genim and I stand by that.

• People think that Issac would have believed Stiles about Theo and that's just not true. Issac would have been wary of Theo based on his own thoughts but would have trusted that Scott trusted Theo. Don't know where everyone got this Issac and Stiles besties from, we must have been watching two different shows.

• Erica and Boyd were easily top 3 platonic soulmates. Others being Liam and Mason and Scott and Stiles

• Allison was a shitty person. She tried to kill her friends multiple times and got mad at everything and everyone. I genuinely thought she was meant to be bipolar when I was younger because of how she acted.

• Everyone was hypocritical, everyone was fine with Stiles killing Allison and Aiden, Peter for killing a lot of people but not Theo or Jackson eventhough Jackson was also possessed and Theo was manipulated and groomed by the Dread Doctors.

• Kira was stronger than Scott both mentally and physically. Parrish was stronger than Derek and Peter.

• Melissa and Chris were actually a good pairing. I feel like it would be weird for Melissa and John to get together.

• I don't know who Noah Stilinski is. I only know John.

• I prefer Stydia as friends but would pick them over Sterek. However I really liked Stiles with Malia and would have loved Stiles with Cora.

• Scott and Allison were a shit couple. "True love" okay so she broke up with him then immediately got with Issac who was one of Scott's best friends. Then Scott got with both Malia and Kira but still was obsessed with Allison. In my opinion their relationship was good in their eyes because it was their only relationship, no experience. Then Scott always brought her up because he felt guilty about her dying.

• Season 6 was a good season people only don't like it because Dylan wasn't in it.

• Theo was one of the best things to happen to Liam and vice versa. He was one of the only people who didn't either make fun of his ied or use it as an excuse for things. Yes he used it during 6x16 but he knew he'd get his ass handed to him but still did it to help the pack, he wasn't just saying it to insult Liam.

• Mason and Corey were a missed opportunity especially with Mason's knowledge and Corey's powers

• Scott and Liam weren't as close and people want them to be. Scott was always getting mad at Liam and rarely ever worked with him, they never did shit together. "Me and Liam go do this thing" "you guys go and sort this out". The only time he willingly stuck with Liam was when Liam had just bought back Theo and he only stayed with Liam because he thought Theo would try to manipulate him again.

• Lydia being the one to bring Stiles back during the wild Hunt was by far the biggest hate crime. You picked a long time crush over a childhood bestfriend/brother to be the one with the biggest connection to bring him back.

• Scott being a bland character was a good unintentional decision. It gave way for other characters to shine whilst also building multiple storylines. A bad example would be Elena Gilbert, she was bland but was still the main focus which imo was a bad decision.

• People really underestimate Theo and Liam's trust for eachother. They had less than a season of development but managed to be one of the better pairings. Like apart from them working together multiple times, Liam wanting Theo to go to the zoo with him, Theo stopping Liam from killing Nolan and Gabe etc. Theo knew about Liam being beat up at school by Nolan and Gabe before Scott did. Mason and Corey wouldn't have said anything because they didn't trust Theo, the only person who did was Liam. In the sheriff station Theo knew something was upsetting Liam and thought it was Brett and Lori then next episode knew it was Nolan and the Hunters.

• Coach was the best character in the entire show, not Stiles, not Issac, not Lydia, not Derek. What a king. Absolute girlboss. I know Coach would guard my drink with his life, no date rape drugs for me thanks to Coach.

• The show as a whole treated mental health terribly. Theo being manipulated as a child, Issac being abused by his father, Nolan's very severe anxiety and PTSD, Liam's ied, Malia's PTSD etc.

Basically if Teen Wolf had a 7th season and I was involved in writing it I would include the following:

• Puppy Pack including Liam, Theo, Mason, Corey, Hayden and her girlfriend (yes I'd give her a gf), Nolan and Alec just having fun and experiencing life.

• Derek, Peter and Chris working with the police.

• Melissa and Deaton working together along with Liam's step dad on a supernatural section in the hospital.

• Braeden 🥰

• I'd have a fever dream style episode where we get a Void Stiles and Evil Theo (with Tracy and Josh's powers) teamup.

• I'd bring back Kira, Cora and Issac

• I'd have the big threat being a coven of witches which is why they have to bring a lot of people back because it's a whole group of magical beings and Braeden, Kira, Cora and Issac could all bring knowledge that they've found from being in other parts of the world.

• I'd actually use all the cool supernatural powers instead of Scott roaring and flashing his eyes. Lydia's Banshee scream ripple, Parrish's flame on, Corey's invisibility, Theo, Malia and Derek's ability to shift into an actual wolf/coyote, Kira's cool fox powers, Jackson's Kanima vemon etc.

Kate. =___= Hate her. I despise that woman. She’s just not written well enough where I want to give her an ounce of understanding. A good villain needs to try and make me see their side, even if I don’t support it. I don’t even get what it is she wants. She’s chaotic evil but not in a fun way. I was satisfied when Peter killed her in S1. It was just a good ending to the season, for both their characters, and for the event that began the entire series. I was BEYOND angry when they brought her back. Don’t even get me started on the FURY I felt that Peter would work with her. Nah, son. Nope!

An unpopular opinion:

Where is the Sterek? I’m sorry, I absolutely 100% understand what it means to ship potential. (I do it all the time.) I’ve just been on the outside looking in at TW for a long time. I thought there’d be more Derek/Stiles content. I’ve been highkey disappointed there isn’t. T^T I mean, I absolutely LOVE the scenes that are there. I just wish there were more. I’ve been putting Sterek up on a pedestal of “Wow they must have as much canon goodness as McDanno or something.” D8  Love the potential. I was just ready to gush over a presumed mountain of content.

My Canon OTP:

Umm... I’m trying to think of any I like.......... I’m so blah for this teen angst. Okay, I think Stiles/Malia is cute. But only in a very specific way. It’s vague to me right now if they’re actually having sex (or just making out) and if they are, I hate it. But if it’s just virgin Stiles and feral child Malia who like to spoon-- amazing, sweet, precious, I love it. Thanks. If they have had sex, I’m ignoring that they’ve had sex.

My Non-canon OTP:

Peter/Chris! ♥o♥ I love all the AUs about them knowing each other as teens. Some serious Romeo and Juliet, yes! Big writing flop to not go all in on their relationship. Also I don’t know how the show is going to end, but I believe writing wants us to see both sides in this war. Monsters are not always evil; hunters are not always murderers for taking out the ones who are. Chris has come over to the side of the Supernatural now. There’s more understanding where he’s not just NOT killing them. He’s also protecting them. For a fuller, complete narrative, I think the series should have been framed with Peter seeing Chris’s original side as well. The two of them are the “adults” for each family. We need them to make peace. Through arranged marriage. Oh, also they’re both hot and should make out a lil.

Most Badass Character:

Hmm. I know I’m biased with my favs, but gotta be...... Chris because, I mean, dang. Oof the man is legit a total bad-a. If this were another show and he weren’t being overshadowed by all of these supernatural creatures, it’d be more apparent. But come on. The man can break out of a chair in seconds. He has the weapons of a small army. He can track and hunt. He’s got the moral code that keeps him in check and the restraint which comes with it. Sorry not sorry, there’s something hardcore about a man with a code he adheres to even if it doesn’t necessarily align with what he wants.

Most Epic Villain:

The Nogitsune is the obvious answer, but it is also the correct one. Hahahahaha.

Pairing I am not a fan of:

95% of the canon ones. I don’t care and writing can’t make me. Any fan ships I don’t like? I mean, idk, you do you, boo.

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another):

It’s Peter, fam. Obviously it’s Peter. Sorry my bitterness of S4 is fresh. It was so OOC of him and highkey not even necessary. The only purpose served was a climactic fight scene. What even was his motivation??? Gah, so dumb and pointless. After he spent three seasons trying to get on everyone’s good side. Did I believe he was ever 100% sincere? No. There were too many sly smiles when no one was looking. But ffs, if you wanted him going evil again, you needed a bit more buildup than that!

Favourite Friendship:

Counts cause I say it does: Peter/Derek. LIKE! Peter loves Derek so much and I love it. YoY And Derek likes to cause Peter physical harm, and I love that too. Hahahaha. It’s a fun relationship. I love how Peter is always hovering and always just THERE at Derek’s loft. I love how when Derek needs backup, he goes to Peter. All the bad blood and distrust, but he still knows Peter will help him.

Character I most identify with:

I am none of these people. XD Where is the token quiet shy character? I can lawful good and compartmentalize my feelings à la Chris Argent though. ;)

Character I wish I could be:

Peter Hale’s $117 million.

When I was first introduced to the ship, I wasn't convinced, but after binging quite a few fics, surprisingly, they actually fit quite well in certain circumstances.

I mean, it ain't on the list of my favs, but I still really enjoy reading the pairing from time to time!
