Luz hummed as she entered the living room of the Owl House, carrying some potions that Eda had asked her to bring up from the lab. King was sitting on the couch, clutching Francois tightly. Luz frowned, putting the box down.

“King? Are you okay?” She asked. He looked up, eyes wide before he shrugged.

“I guess…” he said softly. Liz walked over to sit beside him, putting her arm around the demon.

“Come on hermano, tell me what’s wrong,” she coaxed. King clutched his toy tighter.

“I… do you ever feel like somethings wrong?” He asked her softly. “Like some pieces don’t quite fit? Or like weird dreams?”

“Well… with the portal destroyed I do feel like I don’t fit,” Luz admitted. “As for weird dreams… we’ll I keep dreaming of this strange place filled with glowing cubes floating. Of water I’m walking in…” Luz hummed thoughtfully as she thought about it. There was also someone in the dreams with her. A tall person who kind of looked like King, though she wouldn’t tell him that. He’d get his hopes up. “There’s someone in there. They tell me that… I need to wake up. That something…” something was wrong.

“A place of water… what else do you remember?” King asked. He sounded eager, and Luz smiled at the little demon who’d become her brother.

“Oh I dunno. A few weird scenes playing out but why would Mama Eda and Op’a act like that? All distant and weird?” Luz laughed but…

The scene came to mind. Of Eda speaking to a sphere and Op’a acting strange… of-

“Mija!” Luz lost her train of thought, looking to the door.

(She didn’t notice King’s disappointment or his hissed breath.)

Camila came through the door with a smile on her face and a small yellow and blue skinned child following. “Collie fixed the portal!” Liz gasped and jumped up, hugging her Mami.

“That’s great Mami!” She said happily before turning to the Collector, or Collie as they called them. She opened her arms and the little cosmic being ran to hug her.

“Yes!” Camila said. “It’ll be good to get back home and check on Vee.” She said with a sigh. Both humans paused.

Vee? Who was Vee? She was… she was…

Luz looked through the reflection to see a stranger with her Mami, one wearing the girl’s face.

Camila looked at her daughter who was acting a little off but the rumours of the camp she’d heard now…

“Oops.” Collie said. “Sorry! Forgot to add her!”

“Add-“ Luz began before blinking.

Mami and Papi bringing home a little snake girl with a chain on her tail. The girl becoming another Luz. The two together and playing…

“Shit! Vee!” Luz said. “My twin! Oh she’s gonna be so worried!”

How could she forget about the Basilisk child? The one who’d escaped to the human realm and who’d been so scared! Oh man they were idiots how could she forget?!

(Luz didn’t notice the horrified look on King’s face or the gleam in the Collector’s eyes. She didn’t notice the being in a mirror trying to get her attention.

She didn’t notice any of it.)

what if instead of “what if jason came back to life and was normal” we started contemplating “what if jason came back to life and all his grievances were accurately addressed and validated”

I’m sick of people making it out to be that jason’s circumstances only came about due to his time with talia when its not true!! its not true and its doing a disservice to jason as a character and all of the in universe victims that went through the same trauma as him

you surely couldn’t expect him to be happy that the joker, his murderer, was still alive? not even securely jailed! no, this man comes back out routinely to do the same thing that happened to jason to others.

you surely couldn’t expect him to be happy that someone else was in the role that delivered him his death sentence? surely bruce is able to be a grown adult who didn’t need to rely on children as crutches so he could fight the fight he chose to be in! you surely couldn’t tell me that the way gotham is operating right now actually works! surely not! there’s no reason for jason to be angry as if his memory and legacy wasn’t desecrated and used as a lesson by his own father the moment they buried him 6ft under. SURELY he couldn’t still be angry that it took him dying for people to realize they treated him so fucking poorly

Fuck whatever DC is doing with the al Ghul's characterizations and story lines, I've decided that from now on the al Ghul's are gonna be DC's version of the Addams Family instead.

Now I don't mean just give the various al Ghul's the exact personalities of the various Addams and call it a day. That's boring, that erases all the interesting parts of the al Ghuls, that's just using "find & replace" and not actually adding anything. I mean give them the vibes of the Addams Family.

Keep the al Ghul's as the al Ghul's with all their scheming and machinations and world domination attempts but give them all the unhinged energy, the casually insane view of the world, the deranged levels of love and devotion for family. Make them that group where objectively they are batshit insane but also you cannot argue with the fact that they are indisputably the most stable and functional family in the entire universe.

They're creepy, they're kooky, they're mysterious and spooky. Ra's many opulent homes and impenetrable fortresses are a museum and the al Ghul's really are a screa-um whenever people come to see-um (or when they lay waste upon their enemies in a surprise attack that has been planned for months and is just the first domino in a series that will ultimately lead to achieving a far greater goal).

They all love each other and want each other to be happy, they express this primarily with stabbing and murder attempts (its fine, death is a thing that happens to other people).

And forget the League of Assassins being a cult. Just make the whole vast globe spanning organization a collection of cousins/aunts/uncles/dear old friends ect. No one (not even the al Ghuls, if they cared to keep track of such things) is sure who is actually related to them and who just got absorbed into the ever expanding family tree based on their vibes being right.

(Is Sensei Ra's father you ask? Well he's certainly someone's father - probably.

Anyway have you heard about Cousin Cheshire? Despicable poisoner of a young woman, capable of the most horrific things imaginable - yes she is the sweetest dear. Like I was saying though, she just had a baby!

Everyone in the family is just so excited to throw a baby shower to celebrate! Ubu has really gone all out with the spike traps, he does so love getting to welcome a new addition to the family.

Talia of course has cultivated a brand new strain of the most toxic plants imaginable to make a brand new kind of necrotizing poison. You know, as a nice little romantic gift for Cousin Cheshire and that young man of hers. It really is so important to make sure you take time for you and your partner to go on dates and have a few pitched battles to the death on dark rooftops in the pounding rain when you have children.

Now there is some to-do about it all of course, you know how family get together can be. Everyone is arguing over who should get to give little Lian her first weapon and what it should be. Nyssa is pushing for grenades but Ra's is insisting on a sword - he's traditional like that you know - but Dusan has the vote so far on throwing knives. You know the kind that have the little divots along the edges of the blades them to make it easier to get the poison you dip them in to stick.)

I'm just saying that the al Ghuls should be a delightful cross between the Bond Villains they were originally conceived as and the lovingly unhinged Addams Family. It just feels correct in my heart.

(Again keep the interesting aspects of the characters and the nuances of who each of them are like their drive to save the world through destroying humanity and their strong environmentalist leanings and their constantly playing 5D chess and everything, but like, take away the racism and the cartoonishly evil for no reason bullshit and give them some fun feral energy to go along with it).

I want Daegal live! AU, where he survived and became Merlin’s apprentice and Merlin just particularly adopted him. Merlin ADORED the boy, and Daegal highly respected Merlin and helped him share the burden of secrets.

And it became unofficial known that people needed Daegal’s approval if they want to court Merlin, and Merlin was OBLIVIOUS to this.

Daegal, however, took his position seriously and became the ultimate gatekeeper. Not even the king of Camelot could get through him easily. Daegal also lowkey hated it when Arthur didn’t treat Merlin nicely because he knew about the behind-the-scenes stuff/ secret missions Merlin’d done for Arthur.

Arthur: where is Merlin? Tell him I am taking him to a hunting trip with me tomorrow

Daegal: Why should I let him go with you?

Arthur:

Arthur: I am the King of Camelot.

Daegal: Any remarkable skill from your job as the king that can tell me that you can make Merlin happy during this ‘hunting trip’?

Arthur: I AM LITERALLY THE KING OF CAMELOT AND HE IS MY SERVANT

Daegal: And?

Arthur:

Arthur: What the hell is going on I just want Merlin on a hunting trip with me.

Following in the footsteps of his grandparents, Leonardo opens a dojo, teaching martial arts by day and fighting crime at night. He still has lasting issues from his childhood, but he finally gets therapy (as all Leos desperately need).

Donnie graduates early and with honors from Cornell, soon after landing a job as a professor at the same. His rate-my-professor page is highly divided on whether his teaching style is "refreshingly unconventional" or "frustrating and nonsensical".

Mikey settles into a comfortably hedonistic life of good food and good party scenes, but he does calm down from his teen years- enough to write a bestselling biography and start doing youth outreach in his free time.

Raph gets married, has an adorable daughter (Jett, after the famous Joan Jett of course), and lives out his punk dreams of selling patchwork vests and handmade spiked bracers at flea markets. Rock on!

... Of course, this is only one way the future may unfold- who knows where destiny will really lead...

Fic where Pepper got snapped, too. When Tony finally gets back to Earth, he discovers that not only has he lost his surrogate son but also his fiance.

And, just to dig the knife in even deeper, he finds out about a pregnancy test Pepper had taken after their jog. It turns out, his dream had been right. She was pregnant.

Was.

Tony just lost his son, his wife, and his other child he never even got to know, all at the same time.

To say he explodes at the rest of the surviving avengers is an understatement. Only Rhodey and Happy seem to have a clue what's going on, seem to get just how much Tony has truly lost.

All of this means Tony throws himself into his research to fix the snap. Unlike in canon, Tony has no reason to pull back this time. No one is relying on him to live on with whatever's left. He has nothing left.

This time, Tony won't stop until he's fixed things. After all, these deaths weren't natural, they were caused by aliens and magic. If half the universe can be erased just like that, then there must also be a way to un-erase them

This shit is solvable. There is a solution. He just has to find it.

He's getting his family back.

s4!Scar's base is so cool and shelters all the dead Scars

Or all Life Series Scar's respawn in Scar's Frontier Outpost- or or, oh god all 5 Scar's are stuck together.

All throughout s4 Scar mentions something-something that Scar's Frontier Outpost is "a place for all Scar's to go!" This au is that, but Scar's Frontier Outpost is quite literal in its description. All Scar's that have died go there to rest. And happen to meet some of the other universe's version of themselves in death.

3rd!Scar waking up completely alone as the first, only with the cats to accompany him as he slowly wanders through this very not well lit up town. Only gaping at the TERRIBLE train track construction. Even if he is no expert a train track should not have a 90 degree turn! Of course half shirtless with a cat on his shoulder, or well guiding him. The place is abandoned to his eyes and- well. He's dead isn't he? Passed when Grian murdered him in the cactus ring, so this is his afterlife...

Its nicer than he had imagined it to be.

Then one day months and months later, there's a silly wizard in his bed with green, depressed eyes. And as he stares into a mirror, this replica-Scar sits up slowly, hands shaking with winces and the biggest frown ever. Looking towards the other Scar, his voice cracks during the sentence, "am I dead?" 3rd!Scar only does a quick nod, because while he assumed this is the afterlife, why would the afterlife have multiple versions of himself? He shrugs it off, probably better not to question it. It'll be nice to have some company.

Meanwhile LL!Scar is pulling his hoodie over his head and trying his best to be small and hide away. Because he was unrightfully- totally rightfully, it was a death game. A death game he did not sign up for- murdered. And now he's dead and seeing other versions of himself. It'd be a shock to anyone's system truly, and LL!Scar stares blindly as 3rd!Scar goes on a long babble, sitting down and petting one of the cats with a smile as he talks all about the local train in the area. A week later, the two have settled in and just exist. Because they're dead now and all they can really do is make the world more pretty.

This repeats for each one. After DL 3rd!Scar stops sleeping in the bed they keep spawning in, changing that room out to be more welcoming in a sense. After the mess that is DL, the one who somehow stays farther away from the "group" than LL did, the two give little concerned glances and raises of the eyebrow. That room has a big banner over the door reading "WELCOME TO SCARS FRONTEIR OUTPOST(AKA YOUR DEAD)", streamers hanging from the ceiling, and a red carpet added to the bottom. The entire room is restructured, and they add a chest full of essential items and a little note reading, "DISCONT FOR ONE SANDWICH!" and on the back it read all horribly scribbled out, "if youd like one more glorius sandwich, that will cost you one shoe!" DL got scammed through this, the two longer dead Scar's putting on smiles and demanding two diamonds for the amazing tour they gave the other. And somehow DL couldn't help the laugh that crackled from his chest, the others couldn't stop their snickers either.

SL and LL get along well, but either refuse to acknowledge why or talk about their past. Just when the other appears they connect.

LiL!Scar being like the youngest child. Definitely does the most pranks and gets along like a fire with everyone, but 3rd!Scar encourages his chaos. These two have definitely set off fireworks for fun on the anniversaries of their own deaths(LiL starting this tradition because he simply can. Bdubs and Cleo would've loved to see the pretty lights).

DL being the dramatic middle child... somewhere in there. He ends up being the most reserved even when LiL arrives. He's scared of making many connections and accepts his cats as his soulmates and his only friends. Said cats are also how the other two bring DL out of his shell. Making tons of the toys for the kitters and bonding over their equal love of the little guys.

They all deserve a little happiness in their endings somehow! A nice afterlife where they can thrive together and enjoy some bits of it after realizing they all aren't out to get each other, they're simply just... dead. Now all they have are the alternate universe also dead versions of themselves(this being pointed out over a campfire would make them snort).

Nothing beats the Umbrella Academy tag on AO3 in 2019. Everything was just Klaus and Viktor healing, Five getting the recognition he deserves, and Luther getting a slap in the face for how he treated his siblings in season 1.

Also every single fic was either an AU where the apocalypse was averted, or they all traveled back in time to their teenage bodies and teamed up against Reginald like the badasses they are.

AU where the Collector was watching everyone on the Island and found King. They were so happy to see the baby Titan! Of course he didn’t say anything to Philip cause he’s BORING and only likes one game.

So the Collector just watches little King and his life and slowly begins to want to join. He wants to run around causing chaos. They wanna join in on trash hunting and selling wares. He wants to have Eda tell him stories and learn new things. Then Luz shows up and at first they’re mad.

King should be HIS brother not some human.

But slowly they begin to like her to. Her bright eyes and love of magic. Her yearning for the world.

The Collector begins to imagine little scenarios where he is with them. He’s running around and laughing. Luz is telling him a story. They’re all giggling and smiling. He’s sneaking into Hexside to surprise big sister Luz.

Raine shows up and suddenly there are new pieces added and the Collectors wants it so bad.

When they get released, it’s not hard to change things. Sure, Luz falls through the portal but it’s fine. They can have the first part of everything before she comes back.

O’Pa Raine, Mama Eda and their two kids. Mama Eda hides from the covens who want to arrest her, assisted by her partner Raine and sister Lilith who help hide her. There’s a rebellion brewing with Uncle Darius and Eberwolf. They’re gonna make things right!

No one is a puppet cause the Collector is aware of death an agency here. But they want the life they dreamed of. So robbing some memories and adjusting things isn’t bad, right?

When Luz and her friends come back, along with her Mami, it takes a few more twists. But the Collector has their family! Big sister Luz fell through the portal with her Mami and they’re all happy together. It’s all smiles and sunshine!

King cries at night a bit but he’s happy to, right? It’s all okay. Everyone’s fine!

(King is thankful the Collector lets everyone keep their personalities and agency. But seeing the slight glaze in the eyes of Eda and Raine as they remember fake moments, seeing the jittery movements when they’re about to remember something only for it to fade…

It’s a little sickening.)
