either way, this should take off like 13 cycles from your run in total at max, so all's fine. my mindset for it was to not linger anywhere and not start any fights that i wasn't entirely sure i could win and be kind to scavs like giving them a spear if you have two. or if a pearl is nearby take it and give it to them. don't forget to eat one of Pebs' neurons, else that trip thru Shaded is going to be a pain in the ass

at the point i went on Hunter i spent a lot of time in Sky Islands and Shaded as Arti so i knew how to navigate that. sacrificing a cycle in Sky Islands allows u to die like... twice before you will be unable to get Spades on the way to wall. i suppose if that happens n u don't wanna reset u can pick the ghost squid up when u'll be coming out of the Pebs visit. any death in Sub doesn't matter so you don't gotta be frustrated about that

i now DONT REMEMBER if you need five or four echoes(/Pebs) to get max karma so if what i wrote doesn't get u there u go n get that Shaded Citadel echo, champ, i believe in u 👍

She crosses her arms, a little defensive. “What?” “No, you look great,” he rushes to reassure her. “It’s just… Motorcycle safety. The boots and the jeans are good, but if we slide, it’s a lot safer if you’re wearing a sturdy jacket or something, you know? Something protective?” “Oh,” she says, deflating a bit. “Right.” “Sorry, I should’ve thought to mention it beforehand.” “I mean, it’s fine? As long as you’re not planning on throwing me off, or anything—” “Absolutely not. You’re not getting on this bike without half-decent protective gear,” he says, frowning. “I have an idea. Wait here.” He goes back into the house, and she waits, fidgeting nervously with her necklaces. After a minute, he emerges with a dark, fleece-lined jacket. He holds it out to Ava, and she takes it, arching an eyebrow. “That’s my old biking jacket, from high school,” he explains, answering her unspoken question. “I never got around to donating it, so it’s just been hanging in the back of my closet for ages. It’s made of Kevlar-reinforced denim, so it should hold up pretty well.” She takes off her bag, which Sebastian kindly holds for her, and tugs the jacket on. It’s just a little big on her, but the material is comfortable and sturdy. She can move her arms pretty easily, and… Hang on. She sniffs. She holds the collar to her nose, then inhales again, because it smells like pine and cedar and tobacco, but under it, there’s a really nice smell, almost familiar, very comforting— Sebastian gives her a weird look, and she freezes, mortified. “Yeah, sorry, it probably smells like old cigarettes.” It smells like you, she absolutely can’t say, after very obviously going out of her way to take as deep a whiff of the jacket as possible, like it’s a three-wick candle at Bath and Body Works.

#parrying in all of the other games in this era were fine. what happened? #also this is basically an extended dlc and you can feel it in the writing. its such a nothingburger #its a stealth game where if you try to nudge your character they take 5 extra movements forward and get spotted immediately. very cool. #the parkour sucks and is now more restricted #what origins and odyssey did that felt so good was being able to pick your spot and go from there #ppl complain that there werent Any stealth elements but thats just how You decide to play it babey #i miss the Actual freeclimbing ability as in i'm not railroaded into using fucking handholds on long climbs. the parkour is simply not good #enough to do that nor is it interactive enough for me to want to be forced to do that #i'd like the setting more if the freerunning and climbing felt better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #its next to impossible to get into a good grove. even to get one clean line without randomly jumping off or getting pulled to an unrelated #wall/object. it probably felt better in origins/odyssey because it was so much more open but still closed when in fortresses and such #also? the chain assassination suck. not nearly as fun as being able to chain your own actions #but all of this makes sense when you know that 1. this was originally a valhalla dlc and 2. it was made with the intention of being #ported to ipad. of all fucking things. #whatever i guess im just waiting for the next era cuz thats when the games end up being good again #pretty bummed. especially bc i played thru all of valhalla and didnt like it and am now going through basically an ac1 remake pasted onto #valhalla assets. #and tbh there isnt enough to do in a map this large even though its smaller. ik other people dont like fetch quests but it at least gives me #a reason to go to other areas where like. i havent even been outside the city bc it hasnt set me there. i dont want to just aimlessly wander #i have a lot of issues w this game but i'll shut up now

The spell in question basically a combination of a hex that makes the fire “hungry” in the sense that it won’t stop Burning as much material as it can until the caster calls it off and a hex that Binds one object to another. Shadows have this nasty habit of simply making themselves immaterial when threatened with something to avoid getting hurt but with a strong enough binding hex they just won’t be able to do that. The combo of these two is a sure way to kill just about anything

These videos offer two perspectives on the iconic Halen development - one looks at history and design detail, while in the other its massing, human scale, and playfulness are demonstrated through parkour.

The 79-home Swiss project was designed by 5 young architects on a forested site overlooking a river, 15 minutes cycle ride from Bern. The land had been intended for their own houses, until costs necessitated a higher density. Communal facilities such as the swimming pool, playground and community hall have shared ownership, and the internal streets are pedestrianised. For additional reading, this feature in Monocle (quoted above) includes short profiles of some of the residents. They reflect the fact that the buildings, arranged on a slope with high walls between gardens, seem to have found a sweet spot between community and privacy. As one resident says:  “You can sunbathe on the top floor balcony as God intended without anyone seeing.”

Perhaps part of Halen's success lies in how well it resolves two areas of tension in our relationship to spaces. Firstly the public/private balance, something like what Le Corbusier referred to as "silence, solitude, but also daily contact with mortals.” And secondly, Prospect Refuge theory, in which we crave immersion within nature, but also shelter from it - a view of the surrounding landscape, but also a feeling of enclosure and protection.
