Hello, I noticed your inbox is open so I'm hoping to make a request if you're not too busy that is. But before I do I just want to say I LOVE your work, unfortunately when I first found you your original blog had already been gone so i was unableto see all your works and art, but luckily I was able to find some reblogs of your work and I became a huge fan. May I request reader who likes to sing? Maybe they became the bard of chain to help make money? Thank you very much for your time and please keep up the phenomenal work and make sure take care of yourself.
Oh a reader who can sing would be a little bit tricky for the Chain. Not because some member of the Chain dislike songs or singing, but for other, more irrational reasons.
On the one hand, they would love the fact that you care enough about them that you’d utilize your lovely singing voice to help make money to support the group. It just proves to them how kind and amazing you are.
The sheer pride that would fill them seeing crowds gather around you in towns to hear you perform dwarfs the pride they have in themselves for saving Hyrule. If they could they’d show the world how incredible you are, even if the praise you’d receive will never quite be good enough in their eyes.
But on the other hand, when they start becoming more and more possessive, a certain jealousy starts to fill them when they see other people - strangers, no less - listening to you sing.
It’s selfish, they’ll admit it, but they feel as though they’re the only ones who deserves to hear your beautiful voice. Other people wouldn’t be able to appreciate it, appreciate you, in the ways you deserve. They couldn’t care less about the money your singing brings in, they’d rather have your singing be featured in private performances with them as your adoring audience.
But one does not simply cage a bird and expect it to sing on command, Gliph was the one who made that point, so it’s fuzzy whether or not they’d actually succeed in this or if they compromise with you.
Bonus, some members of the Chain have some connections to music and singing.
Based on Jojo’s July art, we know that each member of the group can play at least one instrument so no doubt they’d provide instrumentation to your performances.
Sky specifically seems to be the one who plays his Lyre regularly as a hobby while the others bring out their own for special occasions, so he doesn’t hesitate to play along to whatever song you decide to sing absentmindedly or hum along to.
Meanwhile Jojo said herself that Wild can sing so he’ll totally have a duet with you under any given circumstances. Personally, he doesn’t believe his singing can hold a candle to your own, but that doesn’t mean he shies away from the chance to have a romantic duet or just a silly fun one.
Also, I don’t think Legend has as much baggage from Marin by the time he’s fallen for you, he would’ve healed enough to let go of her bit by bit, but his reaction to your singing was definitely interesting.
In the beginning, he wouldn’t mind you being musically inclined and humming or singing little tunes every now and again, it’s not like every instance of song would remind him of her. But as time goes on and his attachment to you becomes much more romantic, he’ll wonder if he’s essentially *replacing* Marin by loving you.
This plays into his mini arc about not pushing you away and accepting his own feelings for you, but for a time he’ll act annoyed whenever you sing and maybe even say that it annoys him in an effort to stop the conflicting emotions going through his head.
Of course, the moment you get angry at him, or worse, stop singing around him, the guilt and regret will come crashing in and weighing on his conscious. The other heroes glaring holes into him whenever this happens doesn’t help either…
In the end he apologizes and says that he was wrong, saying that he actually loves your singing and would be blessed to hear more of it. And it’s a good thing to since he was pretty sure that the others might kill him if he didn’t, but even if they weren’t affected at all he still would’ve done it.

Bastard King! Eddie x Queen!Reader
Word Count: 3k

A/N: SURPRISE! My fic The Banished King (I recommend reading it to be able to understand this one better) got far more attention than I anticipated, which made me very happy because I put a lot of effort into it. Several people commented on how much they enjoyed it (comments I peruse from time to time because they make me very joyful), so I decided to create this! Based on a comment made by @mimsie95 and @jenna-jd stating that they needed more ;)

BIG MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
The ladies' conversation was cut short by the sudden opening of massive doors.
You smiled at the ladies seated in a circle, gracefully sipping from their tea cups, but who were quickly interrupted by the person who had chosen to enter the room, silencing the faint conversation and giggles of a group of influential women married to men in high positions. You turned your head as carefully as possible, only to be met by a concerned, even anxious, gaze. Dustin stood at the large doors of the room, which was exclusively used for tea gatherings.
"Please pardon me for a moment." Because of your serene grin, the women nodded their heads. You grabbed the skirts of your dress after delicately resting your cup on the table, not wanting to step on them and tumble face-first to the ground. As you drew closer to Dustin, your heels echoed against the new marble floor. "What is going on?" You inquired softly, unbothered by his intrusion and concerned by his expression. You could no longer listen to Mrs. Stanlin complain about how her husband was losing his hair and no longer resembled the attractive man she had met as an adolescent.
"Eddie." He spoke in hushed tones. You gulped, tightening your grip on your skirts as you imagined the worst. "I'm not sure what occurred, but he told me to prepare for war."
"What?" You whispered with your eyes wide open. "Was there anything else he said? Did he share more information about the situation?" Dustin quickly shook his head. You took a couple of big breaths while sighing and looking down at the ground. Then you turned to your right, where Max stayed rigid but contemplative of her surroundings, settling into her new role as an official imperial guard. "Max," she looked in your direction once you mentioned her name. "Could you kindly look after the ladies? Make them go home, but without raising suspicions about anything. We do not want rumours or people finding out what's going on." She gave a furious inclination of her head. "At least not until I know." You sighed again after she nodded, returning your attention to Dustin and swiftly inquiring about your husband's whereabouts.
Your mind could not stop turning as you made your way to the throne chamber. After Eddie and you married, you both had no enemies and acquired even more allies. After seeing King Edward in your company, many people ceased judging him based on his father's wrongdoings. The man they believed was so terrifying was, in fact, an honourable and caring man. So, who would have wanted to start a war with your country?
Eddie would never start a war, but he would put one down if necessary.
Not only did your gut churn at the thought of war, but so did your head. Because no war ends happily, just with pain, anguish, and death—something you did not desire for your country or any other.
Could your father and brother have been involved? Were they still angry at you for marrying King Edward? And gosh, not only after five months of marriage to him and being afraid for your mother being alone in their company, you chose to assist her in escaping from the castle. Fortunately for your mother, she had found a new love.
She had fallen in love with Hopper, a middle-aged man who had previously worked for Eddie. He no longer worked for him, however, as he had fled with her, showing that he was a man capable of loving and caring for her as much as she would for him. So, with tears in your eyes, you bid your mother and Hopper farewell.
You wished she had stayed in your new country; the one you shared with Eddie. You knew your husband would keep her secure, but she had stated that she wanted to go away and do everything that women were not permitted to do. Things she was never permitted to experience.
When you finally arrived at the throne room, you swiftly grasped the knobs and, grunting and employing a great deal of strength due to the size of such large, dark reddish doors, you were able to pry them open.
Eddie's eyes would always locate you when you entered a room. It is as if he knew you were there, as if he sensed your presence and felt compelled to be by your side. Yet today, he had not run in your direction, welcoming you with what was supposed to be a soft kiss but soon transformed into a passionate kiss in which your spouse would swiftly dismiss everyone in the room.
You were merely met by the back of Eddie's head.
Individuals crowded into the chamber.  They dashed from one half of the room to the other, carrying maps, documents, and weapons. Eddie's voice, which was stern, rigid, and demanding, directed their every move.
"Eddie." As you stepped closer, your voice came out as a murmur, and your hands intertwined in front of you, twitching. "Eddie." You attempted yet again because it was obvious he hadn't heard you the first time. But as you repeated yourself, your voice was not been heard. "What exactly is going on?" You asked Billy, a man with a small moustache, who was in charge of the nation's plan in the event of war.
He tried to maintain his composure, but you had heard from Eddie numerous times that Billy Hargrove was ideal for his role in the castle since your husband was convinced that the man relished conflict. "My Queen." He bowed slightly, his gaze falling to the ground as a sign of reverence. You impatiently waited for him to resume speaking. "We are about to go to war."
You sighed, irritated but attempting not to show it. "For what purpose? What occurred? Who decided to attack us?" Your bosom heaved since you hadn't taken a single deep breath while asking some of the questions racing through your head.
He chuckled. "King Edward," he said. You scowled, tilting your head to one side. "The combat is being started by King Edward." Your pupils dilated as Billy bowed before departing the room, accompanied by some of the people under his leadership.
You took a long, deep inhalation. "Everyone, out!" Your voice echoed throughout the room, causing everyone to come to a halt and their chatter to cease as they looked in your direction. Without a second thought, they all began making their way to the door, bowing one by one before leaving.
As the door closed behind you two, you took a step closer to your husband, who was standing in front of a dark wooden table, poring over maps and tracing lines with his ring-filled fingers. "What's the matter, Eddie?" He didn't turn to face you, which stunned you. "You're beginning a war, according to Billy." Such statements could not be believed. Eddie cared deeply about harmony and security.
"I am." You couldn't see his face, but his icy tone sent shivers down your spine.
"For what purpose? You despise bloodshed." One of your hands reached for your scalp, fingertips interlocking with hair strands. "What has happened?"
"They began it, and I'm just going to finish it." You walked around the table, still perplexed, until you were directly in front of him. Nevertheless, you couldn't see his face since he was looking down, his hair covering his face.
"I've seen or heard no one threatening us."
"He struck in a very distinct manner." He eventually looked up, his gaze restless as he moved his eyes all over your face, taking you in.
"Hey," You walked closer to him, your left hand resting on his chest and the other on his cheek, causing him to look into your eyes. "What's the matter, Eddie? I'm absolutely petrified." His palms landed quickly on your cheekbones, and his brow pressed against yours. His eyes closed for a few seconds, and you took the moment to appreciate his beautiful lashes while he drew a big breath.
"Lord Ramsay." It was the only thing he said for a few minutes, which gave you enough time to wonder why Lord Ramsay would do such a thing. Eddie had admired him and considered him one of his most loyal allies. "He mentioned your bosom." You took a step back, seeing the rage on his face.
"Eddie!" In the process, the palm that had been lying on his chest slapped it. "Are you initiating a war because someone talked about my chest?" He nodded as if it were the most natural thing in the universe. "You can't do that!"
He sneered and turned to saunter to his throne. "Why not? I am the King. I am free to do whatever I want. And if somebody endeavours to make such a remark about my wife and Queen, war will be declared." He slumped on his throne. "How could he!?"
Your body was assaulted by new sensations. On one side, your chest swelled with gratitude as you comprehended how much you meant to Eddie and how much he loved you. You had always assumed that your father and brother would marry you to the most heinous monster who had ever existed. Nonetheless, you have ended up with the most outstanding man. Yet you couldn't fathom that he wanted to start a war because someone had talked about your chest, even though you were not comfortable with such remarks; it was not an incentive to start a war in which others would suffer. Not for a subject like this.
"Eddie, my love." As you used one of his favourite endearments, he groaned. "I understand you're upset. I would be if someone said something inappropriate about you." As he settled on his throne, his legs were wide open, and his crown was slightly crooked as he slugged on it, glancing your way. "But you cannot start a war because of it." You took a step closer; your eyebrows scrunched up. "Others will be involved and suffer as a result of Lord Ramsay's inability to control his thoughts."
"Why does he have to think like that?" His tone was stern; he was offended by what had been stated about you.
"Well." You got closer. "Indeed, I do have a great bosom, if you ask me."
His gaze was drawn immediately to your chest as he shifted around his chair, attempting to find a comfortable position. "I know you do." His gaze never left your breasts as he admired how your chest was propelled by your corset, emphasising their appeal even more. Eddie had advised you that if they were uncomfortable for you, you didn't have to wear them. But goddamn, he adored it when you wore one. "I know it quite well."
"You do." His hips pushed up slightly as his fervent gaze followed your motions. You sat sideways on his lap, adjusting his crown while kissing his forehead. Your chest was positioned near his face due to the action, and he couldn't help but plant a wet kiss on top of your right breast while his hand moved higher to your left, using his full palm to tightly grasp it, causing you to moan.
"Unfortunately," you said as he hid his nose between your breasts, taking a deep breath and closing his eyes as you murmured. You could feel him unwind a little. "Such remarks will always be made. I am sure someone in your kingdom has thought the same thing or something along those lines."
His face rapidly escaped his protective haven. "Are you trying to make me burn down my own kingdom?"
"Eddie!" You yelled, hitting his shoulder. A little grin flashed on his face, indicating that he was somewhat kidding. "Should I just evict every woman from our kingdom then?" He pinched his brows in confusion, and you thought it was adorable that his hand was still holding your left breast. "I'm sure several women have fantasised about becoming your queen and doing even dirtier things." When you thought of that, you pouted and felt a piercing sensation in your chest. However, the feeling vanished as soon as you reminded yourself that he was yours and you were his. "Even men, for sure."
"Me?"
"Yes, you, Eddie." Your left hand became entangled in his locks. "They probably thought about how...you know." You were flushed. "And then there's your hands..."
"Sweetheart," he groaned as he swallowed. "That makes me think he probably considered other parts of your body that are mine." He hissed, his fingers dropping slowly towards the warm spot between your legs. And you wished you weren't wearing so much clothing so you could feel his fingertips. "I need to adhere to my plan." As he attempted to rise from the throne, his gaze darkened. Nonetheless, your weight pushed him down.
"It is irrelevant what Lord Ramsay or anyone else says, Eddie." He groaned, not wanting to look into your lovely eyes, prompting you to take his chin and turn his face towards you. "I'm all yours." You kissed his lips sweetly.
"You're all mine?" His voice had gotten huskier. You nodded as he drew you closer to his body, his hands squeezing your thighs through the clothes. "All?"
You lowered your head once more. "All."
"Let me bury my cock in between them." His hands swiftly moved higher, clutching your chest harshly and causing you to toss your head back. "Please remind me that they are mine." As you met his, your mouth was already open; tongues were not waiting to dance lusciously, urging each other around from one mouth to the other. "I want you to get down on your knees." Your chest heaved due to the kiss, and Eddie bit the top of your right breast as soon as he spoke those words.
You crawled on your knees, your wide eyes focusing on him with a sparkle that told Eddie you were just as hungry as he was. He couldn't wait to have your soft hands play with his thighs and zipper. He desired you. Your chest. Your mouth. Fuck. As he lowered his bottom half, his hands shook.
It made you want to whimper when you noticed he wasn't wearing underwear, but he never did. And fuck, he was already hard, standing tall and proud, twitching now and again.
The tip was somewhat crimson, swiftly turning purple, and you couldn't help but be proud of the impact you had on your spouse. You blew on the tip from afar, and a bead of cum began to drop from the side of his shaft in response. "It's crying out for you, my Queen."
You immediately attempted to undo your corset and dress. Why had you opted to wear one today? "Geez." You complained, your fingers growing a touch red as you fumbled with the laces on your dress.
"Sweetheart," For you to glance up from your bodice, the endearment had to be repeated. "I understand this is one of your favourite gowns."
"Eddie." You warned, your gaze following his hands as he ripped your entire top with one of his rings. "Eddie!" As your chest fell free, he grunted. It looked even heavier than before. "This is one of my favourites."
"I know, my love." He pouted, his right hand stroking under your chin. "But I can order millions of dresses just like this one for you." He whispered, his eyes ablaze. "But I won't be able to order a new dick if this one falls off." You chuckled, making him grin with delight. "Don't laugh, dear. It hurts a lot." He scowled. "I can't even sit up straight anymore. It's cutting through my gut." You smacked his thigh, causing him to chuckle and recline. He spread his legs. "Get me out of my misery."
Eddie's gaze was once again focused on your chest. You always avoided wearing any bralette due to the corsets and the bulky dresses, so as soon as he ripped your dress from the midsection, your chest sprung free, and your nipples were erect—not because of the cold, but because of his stare.
His respiration was uneven, and as you came closer to him, it grew worse.
You softly and tentatively licked the tip of his member with the tip of your tongue, already feeling a slight saltiness. He moaned, clenching his jaw and shutting his eyes for only a few seconds.
You proceeded to take the full head in your mouth while staring at him, sucking and twirling your tongue around it. "Please," he implored, and you didn't need to hear anything else to figure out what he desired. Your hands swiftly clasped the side of your breasts, engulfing the remainder of his member and warming him even more. "Fuck." He tossed his head back, his hips slowly pushing upward. "Is this heaven?" You chuckled around him, causing him to gasp once again. His hands reached for your hair, and you believed he would grab it. He did, however, just fix your crown. "I can't have my queen all dishevelled." His cheeks were already red, and perspiration on his brow caused his curls to adhere to his face. "You know," he said quietly, his breathing heavy. "I've been thinking about you all day." You sucked harder as you whimpered around him. "Thinking of all the rooms in this castle that we still haven't fucked on, the furniture... fuck." There were so many places remaining, and yet you had done it in so many.
Eddie had an outstanding libido.
You began hollowing your cheeks and sliding your breasts faster around his member. "I'm not going to last. I've been hoping to see you all day so I could fuck you from behind after your lady friends left the tea party." His hand once again fixed your crown. This time, however, it lingered, tangled between your locks. "I was afraid I'd end up fucking you in front of them if they took any longer." His hips began to drive forward, and you had to manage your breathing so as not to suffocate. "They would have been shocked." He grinned, his eyes gleaming. It would not have been the first time he fucked you in public or under unusual circumstances.
"Fuck, sweetheart. I'm close." He mumbled. His thrusts were resilient, grazing the back of your throat. "Fuck, fuck, fuck, stop." With one last lick, your tongue left his cock. Nonetheless, your chest engulfed him. "I want to cum on them." You nodded, heated and longing for him to paint your chest. "You want that too, right?" He laughed. "You want to see the contrast between my cum and your skin colour?"
Eddie came on your chest with a scream—something you adored since Eddie was never hesitant about expressing his joy. "Fuck yeah, sweetheart." Ropes of cum adorn your bust. "Fuck, baby." His hands gripped your breasts once they had released his member, not caring if he got his own cum all over his hands. "Sit." He patted his lap and motioned for you to sit on it.
"Eddie." You muttered.
"I never get tired of you in any aspect of my life, sweetheart." He kissed the side of your neck, causing you to moan. "I require my daily dose of you. To be honest, more than a dosage." His left hand grabbed your left breast and drew it into his mouth.
"Now, open your legs."
Eddie's fingers slipped between your legs, and his mouth sucked on your chest. If only you'd known Eddie had an appointment with Lord Ramsay and had entered the throne room while you were in such peril.

Of James and Severus; a testament of bullies:
Often in the fandom, it's brought up that James Potter was a bully and Severus Snape was the victim; nowadays it is a popular view. Which I agree and disagree to; so let's have some thoughts about who was the actual bully, who should we forgive and who was the victim! Have it in mind that my sources are books and I don't care about the movies, the fanfictions and the fandom's headcanons! Only book facts.
Here we go:
James Potter:
James Potter was a bully in his teenage years, there is no discussion in that; he often spelled and jinxed other students with no obvious reason whatsoever! We know James Potter was a bully not only from Snape's memory but also from Sirius's confirmation about it. So it's proven to all of us. But we also know that he had grown out of it in his six_seventh year in hogwarts. He then joined the order of phoenix and started fighting Voldemort (the biggest bully of all times). He fought Voldemort three times and he died the fourth time. James Potter died a hero.
These above were facts! Now:
James Potter was never a racist (in the concept of magical world, centaurs, werewolves and merpeople are race) , his friendship with Remus Lupin and his love for Lily Evans shows us that he never had any care for blood status or the nonsenses about werewolves; james potter was never mean toward anyone because who or what they were, he generally was mean, but also he was nice, since most people liked him!
James potter was not evil in any major way; he never tried to kill anyone, torture anyone, unreservedly hurt anyone or things like that.
When the time came and adulthood arrived, he became a responsible man; he never treated people the way he used to and the ones who remember him, remember him as a good man, brave and all.
His hatred for Severus Snape was always there, ever since the first year for two reason: 1) Lily's relationship with Severus; 2) Severus inclination toward dark magic...but are these to good reason to be a bully? No!
But was he a bully toward Severus in particular? My answer is...no! Because we have it as a fact that Severus as well missed no chance to spell or jinx James Potter! Bullying is not a two_sided relationship and if two people of opposite side are doing it, then it's not bullying, it's rivalry.
Have it in mind that I'm not saying james wasn't a bully! I'm saying he wasn't a bully to Severus Snape. Because they did it to eachother.
James potter never bullied again; he grew out of it. He fought for freedom and for people who was born from non-magical families. He did it even if it risked his own family.
James potter died a hero; it doesn't magically erase all the wrong he did, but he also did some good! So...
Severus Snape
Severus snape was also a bully! But from a very different background. He was the only son of a poor family which in he never saw or felt love and loved! He was a part of a racist group in school who all believe in blood supermacy, he himself only considered Lily Potter an exception; but had no qualms considering the rest of muggle-borns, mudbloods! afterwards even though Lily potter was his friend once, he joined Voldemort! The very person whose whole ideal world was based on oppression and murder against muggle-borns and those with impure blood. He then informed Voldemort of a prophecy which directly lead to the death of Lily and James Potter. Afterwards he regretted his actions and joined the order of phoenix, working for them as a spy. He saved harry's life in more than one occasion. And he died a hero.
These all above are facts; now:
Even though the fandom doesn't like to believe, Severus snape was a bully! He was in group of bullies at school who all joined Voldemort afterwards and he himself did the same.
Severus Snape was also a purist and a racist! He believed in blood supremacy untill it came back and bit him in the ass
He was also a very smart person with a brilliant mind, he was one of Voldemort trusted men and believed in the guy to the point that he informed the dark lord about the prophecy the moment he saw a treat to his lord's reign of terror!
He never cared about other people who might have gotten hurt because of his actions, he never cared untill someone he cared about got hurt because of his actions (which was foreseeable considering Lily was muggle-born)
Severus Snape never stopped being a bully. He later continued bullying children who were his students; he bullied Neville Longbottom nonstop and help the other Slytherins such as Malfoy bully the poor kid even further.
He often mocked and humiliate children like Hermione Granger with no regret and he would often side with the other bullies such as Malfoy!
After hearing the prophecy, he knew that Lord Voldemort will pursue the family who were going to be his demise! He knew that the boy in prophecy would be a one-year-old baby; but he informed Voldemort anyway! He didn't care that an innocent child would end up dead!
After realising the child in prophecy was harry potter and not Neville Longbottom, he only asked Voldemort to spare Lily's life (which Voldemort tried to do before trying to kill Harry, he gave Lily a chance to live, she didn't take it) but Severus never cared that how Lily would feel after losing her husband and child!
Severus Snape hatred toward Neville Longbottom was because it could be the Longbottoms and not Potters That were targeted by Voldemort! And that's...fucked up!
Severus Snape later risked his life to protect harry and ultimately kill Voldemort; was it because any higher cause? No! He felt guilty for his part in Lily's death and he wanted revenge against Voldemort.
He worked as a spy for the order, he then became Dumbledore trusted man and then he was killed by Voldemort so Voldemort could gain the ownership of the elder wand
Severus Snape was a bully, never stopped being a bully, never cared for anything out of his own feelings and his own regrets. He died a hero, but does it magically erase all the thing he did? No!
Severus Snape was not a good person, he was a gray character. Yes he was played by Alan Rickman, a very good actor who I loved but just because he was played by a loveable actor, doesn't mean he was good and nice and oh such a sweet innocent baby!
It is a simple matter.
Between a teenage bully who later grew out of it and started fighting for a good cause and teenage bully who later became a part of a terrorist organisation and then became a grown adult who liked to bully children and never actually cared for the life of others; the choice is obvious.
James Potter had always been a better man.
And it is a fact.
.
P.s: To all the angry people, I said what I said and I meant it😂 not gonna answer anything because it's obvious, the rest is up to you.

Levi's violent, belligerent actions do not mean that he is a "pessimist". Whenever Levi is violent, it is mostly to save his own life and the lives of others. It is true that his actions would be considered evil, but wouldn't you also choose violence if you were faced with a threat to harm you and your loved ones? Let us not forget that he did it out of necessity and in self-defense, not out of pleasure. His roughness is due to his difficult upbringing. I'm sure even he wouldn't want to be like that. I don't need to talk about his mentality, I don't think he would ever think anything pessimistic or cruel. I won't even say I don't think, he wouldn't think.
So on the contrary, he would be very disturbed if his partner had something evil in him, like if he was cruel, ruthless, deceitful, arrogant, selfishly pessimistic, not caring about other people's feelings, other people's lives, and so on.
So I don't understand why you people insist that he will not be with someone who is very optimistic. I believe he has a weakness for selfless, thoughtful people, people who have a purity of goodness in them and he will be drawn to them. Just like himself. I think he would admire people who have these qualities intact in this cruel world.
It's not for nothing that we say he is the most emotional person in the series and the heart of Sc he has a big indiscriminate heart.
And I want to say that this discourse of yours disturbs the people who ship Levi with their optimistic, innocent, weak characters/themselves, and their trust is shaken. It's not just you, there are so many such discourses, those who were upset because they believed that Levi would not like them, and they even say that they avoid reading fanfic, Hc, so as not to see discourses that would make them uncomfortable. Whereas hcs and fanfics are supposed to be about comfort and fun.
If I have to express my own opinion, he First of all, I think that the romance will progress depending on the plot and dynamics, regardless of the character of the partner. Levi is too complex a character to be reduced to criteria and rules. He would be with both an average, optimistic civilian and a soldier with a compassionate character with a pure heart who would not spoil his goodness in this cruel world. And more like that. But I don't think that a character like him, who is selfless, compassionate, values life, every life, cares about the dreams and feelings of others, can be with a cruel, arrogant, selfish character who harbors pessimism, who does not care about life and human life.
Anon, do you know what pessimism means?
A pessimist is a person who is inclined to expect poor outcomes. Someone who tends to see things from a glass half empty perspective, if you will. I am a pessimist, i have OCD and severe anxiety, I’ve always been very focused on all the ways that life could go wrong for me, and i worry about those outcomes a lot. Pessimism is not synonymous with Evil or violence, lots of people with depression or people who have been through or seen hard things are inclined to pessimism. The fact that you put pessimistic and cruel in the same sentence is actually wild.
Additionally, i wrote that he is a deeply emotional character who is very much “in his head” meaning he thinks a lot. I even talked about how he has a very high level of emotional maturity.
And, dear anon, that fifth paragraph💀
Did you know that tumblr has over 547 million users? I’m sure that somewhere in there, there are people who write Levi the way you, and apparently everyone you’re speaking on behalf of, want them to write him. I would encourage you to leave my blog and go find those people. Because you’re absolutely right, tumblr, especially the fanfiction community here, is a place for comfort and fun, so doesn’t this mean that those of us who write him like i do deserve to feel those things? It’s not mandatory that you read my content, and to say that my viewpoints make people uncomfortable to the point of not wanting to read fanfiction???? That’s crazy anon, wild, and honestly it’s terribly manipulative. Also i don’t care.
There are cruel and inhumane things happening everywhere, the world has a lot wrong with it at the moment, i am very involved in humanitarianism and activism. I find your passion for writing essays in fanfiction writer’s inboxes to defend a fictional character to be pretty impressive, but you should direct all that fire towards something that actually makes a difference.
“If i have to express my own opinion”
You don’t, actually, it was unwarranted, but regardless:
Sure, that’s definitely some great stuff you have there, and I’m sure people would love it if you wrote your own content surrounding those ideas. And finally, that last sentence…WHAT????
Anon please explain how you read “He likes someone who is genuine, trustworthy and dependable. Someone who has a strong sense of justice and empathy, who defends and advocates for others when they are unable to defend themselves.” And took from that “cruel, arrogant, and selfish character who harbors pessimism.”
Here’s a short story about something that happened to me last year:
My cat, whom I’ve had for almost nine years, became sick. I took him to the vet and they told me that since triage would take a while due to the amount of people who were there, I could go home and come pick him up when they called me. At the time i was 6 months pregnant and very tired so i went home and cried for several hours, as i was very upset that my cat wasn’t home with me, very upset that he was sick, and I was scared because, as a pessimist, i usually expect the worst outcome. My partner, however is an optimist, and his way of trying to help me was to tell me that everything would go well and that my cat would be fine. But that only served to irritate me, because it was so directly oppositional to my own way of thinking, that it felt like I was being lied to, or given false hope. I would’ve found more comfort in having him sit with me and think over my fears rationally: ex. sure he might be terminally ill, but he also might have just eaten something he shouldn’t have eaten. It turned out that his new wet food wasn’t agreeing with his stomach, so sure, he was fine, but sometimes my worries get in the way of my ability to see that.
A realist is a person who recognizes what is real or possible in a particular situation, and who accepts and deals with things as they really are.
Anyway…do with that what you will, i guess. I normally wouldn’t respond to messages like this but, wow, this was insane and i felt obligated to correct you.

the queerness of 2012 is really weird because it straddles the line of plausible deniability so well and the fact it's so obviously edgy teenage boy coded, so when something kinda queer happens you're like "wait was that intentional or" as opposed to Rise, where the queer coding is blatant, especially with its usage of gender nonconformity and literally putting a rainbow flag into the show
so anyway here's an essay about leo's bisexuality. yes this will be covering his crush on karai in a romantic context even though everyone hates it and wants to rephrase it as gender envy, i'm sorry but someone has to do it
Tumblr media
The first question we must ask, does Leo have some kind of indication of having attraction to more than one gender?
There was a tumblr post recounting canon tmnt facts, one of which says the art book states that Leo has a 'man crush' on Captain Ryan.
Tumblr media
Which, I am wheezing at the idea that the thing that makes Leo imperfect is the fact he has a man crush on Captain Ryan. Nothing else, just the man crush.
I did google the definition of a man crush because even though I am clearly just so manly what the heck is that.
-an intense and typically non-sexual liking or admiration felt by one man for another. -a man who is the object of another's intense liking or admiration.
Yeah that's approximately Leo's relationship with Captain Ryan, an intense admiration for a fictional man. Obviously, having a man crush doesn't automatically mean you're attracted to men, but given Leo's general behaviors in the show, I'm more inclined to believe he does have Some Kind of attraction to men.
Karai
The thing about Leo's crush on Karai is that it was executed in a distinctly different way than any of his brothers' love affairs.
With his brothers, they're very open about the fact they're into whatever girl the narrative has assigned them. Donnie's crush has been known by everyone since episode 1 and he and Mikey are not subtle about their admiration. Raph was talking about how cool he thinks Mona is and if turtles and newts can go on dates even though she was introduced as an antagonist before becoming an ally.
Karai was also introduced as an antagonist who Leo has some kind of attraction to, but he hid it. He refused to tell his family about it, only telling April who then chastised him about it. His family only found out by accident, and even then he either didn't tell them he liked her, shrouded in excuses of "We both like the fine craftsmenship of swords" and "I can see the good in her, I can save her", or begrudginly added "I guess I sort of liked her" at the end.
This reads as a very queer narrative, closeted kids discovering themselves and only their friends know out of fear of getting rejected by their families.
And this is also why I do think Leo has an Actual Crush on Captain Ryan. Trying to explain it as having an admiration for Captain Ryan and wanting to be a hero is much the same as trying to explain why he was hanging out with Karai, wanting to help her or admire swords.
His personality as a Very Good Boy who follows the rules and cares if they accidentally hurt people exemplifies the changes he went through from Karai's influence.
(also like. if space heroes is supposed to be a parody of star trek. girl star trek is so horny. and Leo says that space heroes has a ton of fans currently, implying he's seen the fanbase, and the very strong possibility that the fanbase is mostly populated by gay fanfiction
and yknow. Leo's the embodiment of 2010's tumblr fangirl, which has a lil queer autistic in it)
Karai is very visibly a lesbian, an edgy punk butch lesbian, and she and Shinigami lowkey embody a butch femme dynamic and the fact Karai is depicted as the more formidable, domineering force with a sword and Shinigami as a bit more pathetic with a cat is reminiscent of the japanese lesbian dynamics from this post. It's all very gay.
And she's an antagonist lesbian to Leo's closeted and internalized biphobia.
She represents the desire to give up and be swallowed by selfishness, forgoing responsibility and cleanliness in favor of having fun.
Leo is resistant to giving in. His attempts to do so immediately get shut down, and he's rejected by his family, even for a moment, for wanting to go do Bad Things. He tries to fix Karai, make her good and acceptable. But he slips further, eventually falling into Karai's circle to be gay and commit crimes against the Foot Clan empire.
In this way his sexuality is explored through self expression, the moral ambiguity, and transition from an absolute rule follower caring deeply about the affects his actions has on others to burning a building full of money. It's very classic "good girl getting corrupted" story telling, but at the same time it isn't, because Leo maintains an overall good moral compass, he just grew up. Sometimes killing people is a necessity, sometimes you make mistakes, sometimes people get hurt.
Being queer stops being this huge shameful, evil thing and it starts just being part of you.

lyrics that remind me of dion and kane / their plotline <3
if there's no character specified it's either about them together or the plotline in general
it's tumblr, so the colors are messed up but you get what im trying to do its supposed to be aesthetic
Dion: Turn and Go - {Parentheses}
When the night is turning sour Due to the lateness of the hour Doesn't mean it has to end Just turn and go You just need a change of scene Somewhere happy, somewhere green You don't have to be alone Just turn and go
I announce that I am leaving, no one seems to care No one even takes a second glance But I am with the people that I love the most And that's always more fun without a plan
Dion: Lying in the Middle - Spence Hood
Why should I make up my mind Just to change it overnight What a magnificent way to waste my time You know I would rather live my life Rife with riddles Lying in the middle of the Kinsey scale The world’s a buffet and I came to get my fill
Dion: Doing This Again! - Bears in Trees
I hope I'll be resilient I hope to be brave in the face of another family cancer My mother 'cites a rosary downstairs But lord, these blessed words fail me
Love Takes Time - Philip Labes
It takes more than some roses, for roots to intertwine To open up the doors to your interior design Sneaking in the baggage, that we couldn't leave behind
Saint Bernard - Lincoln
When I'm dead, I won't join their ranks 'Cause they are both holy and free (…) Make me love myself, so that I might love you Don't make me a liar, 'cause I swear to God When I said it, it was true
Paul Revere - Noah Kahan
One day, I'm gonna cut it clear Ride like Paul Revere And, when they ask me who I am I'll say, "I'm not from around here"
I'll leave before the road crew's out Before those joggers, looking way too proud And I'll turn up the music and I'll forget Until it ends, that I'm not ready to let go yet
How I Survived Bobby Mackey's Personal Hell - Lincoln
Well, if there’s one thing that I'm sure of It’s that I think too much about shit that doesn’t matter And I don’t think enough about things that make a difference
You left some holes in the plotline I left some holes in your clothes And we can argue semantics over who left who first
Dion: Downhill - Lincoln
I went downhill at such steep incline That my rearview mirror showed me only the sky And I laughed about it all night
And I said “Hey man, isn’t it poetic That the sky is what we leave behind?” Because I was born into the world on a silken cloud And I got bored of the world before I hit the ground
From Eden - Hozier
Idealism sits in prison, chivalry fell on his sword Innocence died screaming, honey, ask me, I should know
There's something broken about this But I might be hoping about this Oh, what a sin
Out of Time - Philip Labes
Tick, tick, tick goes any good thing Forever is a diamond lie We can't stop the clock, so let's just talk Until our heartbeats rhyme Until we're out of time (...) And if you believe that fate brought us together Then you must believe that it tore us apart But I do not believe That we live in a machine I think the ticking that you're hearing is a heart
Kane: Is It Honor That I Want? - Sushi Soucy (it's LITERALLY him. screaming)
I know the guidelines That I've lived by my whole life So well that I could sing them Be a good kid, be a good brother Be a good son, be a good loyal servant to the kingdom
Why am I so confused? I have everything I want Yet it feels like I have nothing left to lose Is the world really falling to pieces? Do we really have to iron out the creases? Have I been told my whole life something that isn't true? Because I really have no idea what to do
I curse the heavens up above Is it really honor that I want Or is it love?
The Title Track - Origami Angel
Sometimes it gets hard to be alive And you know that better than I do Better than I do Sometimes you need somewhere else to go Somewhere that nobody can find you No one will find you
But if you wanna be somewhere you don't have to be alone Or distraught or anything at all Baby, you don't have to be, pack all your things And we'll move to Somewhere City If you want to be someone that you never have to hide Or keep bottled up on the inside Baby, you can set it free, just come with me And I'll show you Somewhere City's waiting for you
Dion: Re-Do - Modern Baseball (i have to put mobo on every single playlist somewhere soz)
I wanna start from the top Maybe like a do-over Replace the voices in my head With blind innocence
I want a complete re-do Maybe change my name Report the losses, grab the claim "It's a shame, it's such a shame"
Kane: Stick Season - Noah Kahan
As you promised me that I was more than all the miles combined You must've had yourself a change of heart like halfway through the drive Because your voice trailed off exactly as you passed my exit sign Kept on drivin' straight and left our future to the right

twenty questions for fic writers
tagged to do the do by @prince-of-elsinore, ty ty for thinking of me
How many works do you have on ao3?
211 (and elsewhere, maybe a dozen we don't talk about, bc they suck, on livejournal; maybe a couple dozen short pieces here on tumblr that have never migrated to ao3)
What's your total ao3 word count?
1,515,103
What fandoms do you write for?
Almost all Supernatural, but also some video game fandoms (FF, DA, maybe BG3 soon), MCU, etc. usual suspects.
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. oh so good, oh so fine -- 993 kudos 2. there will be better days -- 846 kudos 3. see things so much clearer -- 621 kudos 4. into the flood again -- 602 kudos 5. side two, track one -- 558 kudos maybe someday we'll break 1000, lol
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Absolutely I do, and would find it rude not to. I know other people have all kinds of reasons they don't respond but I don't have any of those reasons, especially since I'm pathetically grateful every time someone bothers to say they liked something, lol. If anyone's even a tiny bit encouraged to become a repeat reader by the writer responding, I want to encourage that as much as possible. Plus, every once in a while, you can get a dece conversation going in the comments! Find a like-minded fan! That's worth any effort to compose a few sentences of thanks. The only comments I don't respond to are emoji strings or cut-and-paste 'another kudos here' comments, because they're not actually comments. (I appreciate the thought, but... I don't want them.)
What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I have had some beta friends who would argue about this one, lol. I guess the saddest is probably the hollow summer, since the whole plot is kind of hurt/no comfort. I don't believe in a successful boy king, let's say that.
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
again, probably depends on how you define 'happy'. glory days is probably the most cheerful; for me, the happy comes better with more experience behind it, so the thirty-third yard would maybe be my personal choice.
Do you get hate on fics?
nope; worst I ever got was some twerp who actually responded to someone else's comment, bitching that I didn't put the right peepee in the right poopyhole. But only one of those, ever, and safely ignored. idk, I don't attract that much.
Do you write smut?
...yes.
Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
only one, and it only sort of counts -- i heard love was blind, which is Cordell Walker/Dean Winchester, but of course the point is that Dean's getting the body of his brother by other means. I like crossovers but I usually want there to be a point beyond 'let's mash these two faves together and see what happens'; I'm more inclined toward doing a whole-universe fusion, e.g. fully placing characters with what you can salvage of their key backstory elements into a universe not their own... which I guess would also count as a crossover, wouldn't it. so I also did that with putting the Winchesters into the Dragon Age 2 plot, in whatever we were before. definitely 'crazier' than the first one here, lol.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I think that's the kind of thing that happens on WattPad. Who cares.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
yes, a few.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
I tried; it didn't work. Both people need to be contributing to the writing for it to really count as 'co-written'; nevertheless it's stuck with both author names on ao3 because I don't think there's a way to change that.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
I think from context this should be clear. Although will also forever hold many small candles for the little guys.
What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
the aforementioned "co-written" fic, which was meant to be a huge series. The first fic is finished because I brute-forced my way through it, but there was a full five-season arc we were going to try to get through. Alas. The first one is decent, though, and works as a complete fic on its own: In a Cursed Hour.
What are your writing strengths?
voice, pacing, naturalism; characterization, though that can be argued in a fan-space
What are your writing weaknesses?
plot -- I find it intensely boring. Avoidance of plot then tends to flatten stories into similar non-arcs; I don't mind that, but it's a skill to exercise.
Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I'll only do Spanish, and that's only because I studied it for eight years. Even then it's usually the wrong choice, unless it's a fully blended multilingual story (which most are not, and in the wrong hands it comes off as absurd); better to convey through the POV character either understanding it or not, and dealing with it in narrative instead of straight dialogue. Although a word or two here or there is nbd, clearly.
First fandom you wrote for?
Final Fantasy VIII
Favorite fic you've written?
well, questions, you got me, because I don't believe in favorites. at this moment in terms of writing skill I think the best might be asceticism, but in terms of one that sits in my head and fully just is canon, lol, it might be there will be better days, mentioned above. the only heaven fic I need. I guess that says something.
kind of interesting to look at the stats, if also stressful. let's get some other writers to be interested/stressed -- uhh @redmyeyes, @phynali, @hellhoundsprey, @stillwaterseas, @whiskeycherrypie
some shots in the dark :)

oh! may i ask about how musically inclined you think the harbingers are? we all know that columbina loves singing, but what about the others (especially scara, because of his codename and all the kabuki references in his lore)?
First, I LOVE your pfp, so cute 🥺 For Scara, I do think he's musically inclined! The sword dance he performed must have been quite beautiful and rhythmic. Not to mention I believe Niwa, Katsuragi and the others taught him many things, such as how humans had fun which included singing and dancing, making music out of the simplest things! I hc that he sometimes hums the songs they taught him unconsciously. Edit: After further research I found out people believe he can play an instrument called the shamisen and I 100% approve.
Childe I see as the kind of guy to be able to just be able to make a good beat. Like, clapping, stomping, hitting surfaces in a rhythmic manner lol. He likes to do with a crowd and stuff, to liven up the event or whatever because he's a fun guy you know? And I just found out he can canonically dance too soo... 😍And I personally see Columbina as being able to play the harp as well as sing. It just feels so elegant and just what she'd do. (Definitely not me imagining her wings spreading out as she plays.)
As for Dottore... hmm. It may be possible. But maybe not for the Prime or Omega. Since he has so many clones he sends them out all over the place for missions and such. And since they all have very different experiences they may have picked up on some musicalness for the sake of the mission. I don't know what though, I can't see much here 😭 La Signora I'm saying yes since I'm biased lol. She is from Mondstadt which I feel is quite a musical nation. She can sing but I think when she does it's super melancholic, sad, and low. As for instruments, maybe the lyre...? Hc that she played it with her lover before he left her.
I don't think Sandrone would feel the need for learning anything related to music. She has robots ready to play her songs, dance for her amusement, and play any kind of instrument possible. Never took the time to learn herself and doesn't really care. Again, same for Pantalone. He has people he can pay for all of that... he's too busy for that himself lol. But i hc he has a pretty singing voice... it's quite beautiful and smooth but he never uses it (because why would he??)
Arlecchino... once again she doesn't see the need for it so she doesn't really know much. Though she is able to hum a few good tunes for when the children can't sleep. Pulcinella I see as the musical arts enjoyer. He can't do much himself but he 100% knows a bunch of history and cool facts about anything related to it.
And good old Capitano can't do anything either. He'd break the instrument by accident, can't dance, and would never sing no matter what. He'd prefer to watch the Fatui soldiers instead. Pierro isn't the best, but also isn't the worst. He knew how to play some ancient Khaenri'ahn instruments and tunes, but well... the instruments are long gone now, and humming the tunes makes him sad.
This went on along than I expected it to. 🚶‍♀️
Though I was listening to the Harbinger's boss themes and I just remembered... I hc them as the ones singing in their own theme lol

I don't know who you were talking about so I could be wrong, but I think that those "people who talk about Ed stans like they're a problem" most likely are not referring to all the people who like/love Ed but specifically to those you talk about in the post that in order to discredit Izzy at all costs they only see him as someone who exists to further Ed and Stede's character development. Apart from that, this way to see "non protagonist" characters sadden me… If they weren't also important why do Jenkins spent time on Jim's story, on Lucius and the others? Just to fill and make the episodes longer?? D:
I disagree with people who think "ed stans" are a problem in the fandom, especially when people think they're an equivalent problem to the canyon. no they're not. there is at least one guy on """my side""" of things that I find really annoying, and I've definitely seen takes from other people out in the open (aka not in the canyon) that I don't like. but you cannot call the issues equal.
first of all, I've never seen "ed stans" the way izzy people talk about them. granted, I don't go into the tags. I can't say I've seen everything. but like, if you have 2 groups, and the 2 groups don't like each other, they tend to exaggerate and make up shit about the other group to continue the antagonizing relationship. ngl I've seen it on """my side""" too. I have seen some canyon takes first-hand. I'll occasionally scroll down their blogs out of curiosity. there's varying levels of canyon-ness. and people on """my side""" have sometimes exaggerated things or made it out to be that everyone in the canyon thinks this versus it just being one dumb fuck's take. we see the canyon as a monolith but it really isn't, same way we aren't a monolith. anyways, long story short, you cannot call these two groups equally bad because of the canyon's obvious racism problem. this was just a long-winded way of getting to the fact that izzy stans and the canyon have a racism problem.
I'm not saying """my side""" is perfect, nor am I the person to discuss that in depth because I am not a person of color. I'm just saying that the canyon is continuing to perpetuate racist tropes in fic and art after literal years of fans of color discussing how these things are racist. stede and/or izzy having to teach ed how to bathe/take care of his hair immediately comes to mind, for example. writing ed as uniquely violent, and responding to feeling threatened with gratuitous violence instead of hiding and curling up into a ball. continuing to reference slavery in their fics.
why don't "ed stans" talk about how ed did bad shit more? because the canyon won't shut the fuck up about it! I think having a frank and productive discussion surrounding ed's actions in 2x01-2x02, as well as a bit of 1x10 is impossible in any sort of public space, and could only happen in a private discord server. I don't think there's anyone who seriously believes ed did nothing he had to apologize for. he did do horrible things. he did have to earn the crew's trust back. the show did really, really rush through it due to The Shortening. but we don't talk about it because we're too busy trying to counter canyon takes.
I do agree with you on that last bit. I am not inclined to view any sentient character in any story merely as a plot device for the protagonist(s). it's just not a method of literary analysis that I particularly jive with. symbolism is cool, and obviously it should be discussed, but at the end of the day, I view characters as people within their own universe, not objects within their own universe, regardless of their importance to the narrative. take jack, for example. one of the most plot-devicey characters in the show. but I still prefer to, and find it more interesting to, see him as a person within the world of the show rather, than a plot device puppet. my point with the post was I see people arguing that izzy's side-characterness makes him less of a person inside the world of the show than stede and ed, but never ever apply that line of thinking to any other side character, and I find it reactionary and hypocritical. now, if you view all the side characters as plot devices, then you're being consistent, and while I don't agree with you, I don't particularly care, and I think that's fine.

Calypso's Fatal Loyalty
I finished reading Calypso's story in The Battle of the Labyrinth last night, and it absolutely broke my heart. She was an innocent woman whose only fault was supporting her father. Do I agree with her decision to side with her father when he actively fought against the gods? No, but I understand her logic. Calypso was groomed to obey her father at all costs, to break this bond would be an act of betrayal. She held family in the highest regard and blindly followed her father into battle. This does not mean she doesn't actively regret her decision, and she tells Percy as much, asking him if he supports the gods because he loves them or because of Poseidon, to which Percy answers in favor of his father.
Both Calypso and Percy have the Fatal Flaw of Personal Loyalty, but the gods handle it in extremely different ways. While Percy is rewarded and held in high regard for his loyalty, accomplishing quests, and surviving feats that would surely kill anyone else, Calypso is punished--left alone with invisible servants (which is a whole other conversation) and forced to fall in love with heroes she knows will never love her back. The gods use her loyalty against her, mocking her with their punishments and games, dooming her to an eternity of heartbreak. Physically, she is sixteen years old, a romantic teenage girl. She should be dating boys, hiding them from her father, and discovering her version of womanhood. Instead, she watches hero after hero sail away to live the life that was taken from her. It's the cruelest punishment one could inflict on the adolescent mind. I imagine her standing on the shore of Ogygia after Percy disappears from sight, and breaking down in tears with no one to comfort her. She called Percy "my brave one," but I'm inclined to bestow that title onto her.
Despite knowing the outcome of caring for Percy and nursing him back to health, she is kind to him. She feeds him, gives him a safe place to recover, and never judges him for talking about the outside world. She accepts Percy for who he is, something Percy is still learning to do for himself. I do have an issue with her essentially leading him on, but I also understand how female kindness often gets misconstrued as romantic feelings. Calypso's story is a meditation on the female existence and the weaponization of women's kindness. The gods know Calypso will care for whatever hero washes up on her shores, wholly and completely, so they send heroes who will take advantage of that kindness and ultimately leave it behind. Maybe I identify with this story so much because I was Calypso, trapped in a toxic environment, selflessly giving my love to someone who could never return it. When I think about that experience and whether I would act in the same way if given the chance, my answer is always yes. Kindness is never about reciprocation or transaction, it's about doing the right thing by another person, regardless of the outcome. Calypso could have looked at her situation and become bitter, letting the heroes die on her shores, but she doesn't. She loves them hard and fast, even if she knows it will break her in the end.
I've struggled with extending my kindness to others since escaping my situation many years ago, but Calypso reminded me that my kindness is mine alone to give. Most people will not appreciate it for the gift it is, but that doesn't mean they are undeserving of it. I guess this is my curse, to love the world and everyone in it. Just like Calypso reverently bows to Hephaestus, despite his godly status that trapped her in Ogygia in the first place, we should learn to forgive and find the good in every human, even those who hurt us. As Percy sails away, he says Calypso will always be "his greatest what if," and I believe this experience fundamentally changed him, making him more empathetic to those around him. If Calypso can bring him back from death's door and easily befriend him despite knowing the outcome, maybe he can love more readily, too. Maybe he can change his perspective. I'm excited to see how this experience changes Percy and (hopefully) makes him a kinder, more accepting person. Our world is swarming with hate and division right now, and it will be the Calypsos--the peacemakers, the middle grounders, the unifiers--that heal our wounds.
"It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all." Alfred Tennyson

Teen Wolf meets How to get away with murder
I just finished season 2 of How to get away with murder. I'm in love. It has some of my favorite things: found family and blind loyalty.
Idk how I ended up here, I finished the last episode and the next thing I know I was looking for the correspondence between the characters of HTGAWM and those of Teen Wolf. So here I am.
N.B.: it's not always a canon equivalence. Sometimes it's just my favorite headcanon dynamic.
Annalise: Stiles
Frank: Peter; Boyd; (Malia)
Bonnie: Lydia
Nate: Derek
Wes: Scott
Laurel: Allison
Connor: Jackson
Oliver: Danny
Asher: Erica
Michaela: Isaac
Now I'm gonna explain why.
Stiles is the mastermind behind the pack plans, has a different moral compass than the norm and would definitely kill, lie and harm to protect the ones he loves, and -if that was the case- he would feel no remorse. In other words, Annalise. He also has a soft spot for Scott (and Annalise for Wes) and often finds himself making up for the mistakes his friend made in good faith. Furthermore, BAMF Stiles.
Frank is the muscle of the group and so are Peter and Boyd. Both are the kind of people who don't ask questions and would have no problem killing for a person they trust. Frank, like Peter, would sometimes be prone to violence right away and needs to be restrained. Plus Peter would love Frank's sense of style. (We could put Malia here as well, even if I don't feel exactly the same about her).
Bonnie is Annalise's right hand man. She's similar to Annalise: not enough but she understands her better than the others. I live for Lydia as Stiles' best friend. They are also both very stylish.
Nate is Annalise's lover, has a strong personality and doesn't trust very easily. He's also more than "the muscle" but less than "the brain" of the group. Annalise trusts him enough to let him act on his own, but still always goes out of her way to protect him. I love when Stiles is so protective of Derek (sterek of course).
Wes and Scott. Do i really have to explain it? I switch from like to dislike every 10 minutes when both of them are on screen. Great loyalty which, however, is undermined by a moral compass different from that of the group. They always see the good in others and this sometimes leads to problems.
Laurel is the one with the coldest mind of all the young adults. She is able to remain lucid even in stressful situations and is the one most inclined to lead (excluding Annalise). She has a darker mind than she appears to be and has no problem killing if necessary. She also has a dangerous family behind her. Allison is canonically all of these things too.
Connor is the suspicious one, the only one who maintains real contact with the "outside world" and who is not entirely devoted to the cause. When necessary, he plays his part and participates actively, even if he apparently tends to freak out. He also always makes piqued comments and is not ashamed to use his body to get what he wants or needs. Jackson fits perfectly the role.
Oliver is Danny in so many ways: sweet, gets involved with others but underneath he's eager for adventure, computer technician and hacker, canonically gay.
Asher is the perfet mix between an himbo and a very intelligent person. He's loyal and actually caring, even if it might not seem like it at first. He also makes sex jokes and somehow won the heart of a reserved person (lots of grumpy/sunshine dynamics). Erica is very similar to him (in this house we believe in the canonicity of Erica/Boyd).
Michaela is the one with family problems. She has trouble trusting and sometimes ends up trusting just because she's tired of always looking over her shoulder. However, if you show her that she can trust you and that you will protect her, she's very loyal. She likes to be independent, but in times of need she needs the guidance of someone she deems more capable. The same goes for Isaac.
Let me know what you think but NO SPOILER: I haven't seen season 3 yet.

what are your thoughts on luz insisting on calling philip 'belos'? as a trans person it felt like a weird decision cause he specifically asked to be called philip. what makes it worse is he is depicted as an evil monster/irredeemable for being so "two-faced" which is not great when he says something that most definitely does not sound cis
i'm inclined to believe this wasn't intentional malice on the part of the show writers cause honestly they probably forgot he said that or just didn't put too much thought into the dialogue when they were writing it. regardless it still came off as slightly irritating to me. i like ur takes so im curious what u think
So first I just want to throw out that despite the fact that I'm pushing myself more and more to be inclusive, transgender identity and characters is one of those things I'm not comfortable doing myself. I still argue with myself about a joke with Daina in Rich Witch that has spoiler explanations/justifications. It's not because I'm anti-trans either. Trans rights are human rights. Period. But like… There's a reason Juro Rigged Pets, literally started the day I chose to stop watching TOH or close to that, is a converted fic because I want to use the community as a soundboard for not fucking up with my first enby character because Luz is non-binary in that one.
And if you're going "Wait, why are you okay with writing sapphics then?" Well, my personal reasoning is that I see love as love and that that emotion is fairly universal, even if the expression is going to change due to gender. There is still an emotional in for me to write them, I've been exposed to a LOT more sapphic emotions and talking than I have anything about trans identity and in general I just like writing and hanging out with girls more. Not even from a "Hurr hurr, I'm a straight white dude" perspective but more from a "I like that these people seem to be capable of being more mature, emotional and honest than a lot of the guys my age seem to be." I literally spent lunch most of the time in High School with only girls around me. I just don't know if I have a comfortable, emotional in when it comes to gender identity. While identity is universal, questioning one's gender and how people treat you about it is not. It's just not the same from my perception as a feeling like love. Is that maybe small minded me? Maybe. I don't know. Sometimes I feel like the best I can do in a situation is admit my own ignorance and hope I learn to do better in the future. My ears are always open though to try and learn and understand better.
I say all of this because… Well I don't think I have a lot to say about your ask. I mostly agree. It's not meant to have any active malice to it even if it's a dick move by Luz. If we're charitable, it's meant to be reinforcing the point Luz makes in that scene about Belos wanting to be called a human name when he has clearly thrown away his humanity for his goals.
Which… I don't like in general. Yes, he is monstrous and has magic but it's really the only time they make the case and Belos still identifies as human more than he identifies as magical. If they were willing to interrogate it more, it'd be a cool recognition of the use of religion and the like to say you have noble goals while being the literal worst person ever but it's much more about Belos being a literal monster than his inner monstrosity in that moment. Like so much with Belos, it's an interesting idea obviously on the writer's mind but not done anything with because they won't dedicate the effort to it.
If we take it less charitably and look at Luz's character as a whole… Why should Luz care about other people's identities? Her claims of caring about other weirdos and the like never come out to anything. I've talked about before how Yesterday's Lie plus the pilot kind of implies that Luz actively chose never to make friends with nerds because they weren't special enough. That Willow and Gus only meet her requirements because they have magic.
Luz doesn't see Belos as meeting those requirements so why would she care about basic rights such as being given the name you desire? I think this is too mean of a take. I don't know if I personally agree with it but it is the unintentional effect that one can take from it just like how you feel awkward about the dead name being used at all when a preference is shown.
It's like if someone calls me Mikey. I don't like it. Someone pointed out to me that it's like a dog's name when I was a kid and ever since I've HATED being called that. Mike is fine but don't call me Mikey. If someone does, I know they don't give a shit about me and so I shouldn't give a shit about them and we better split our separate ways. Same goes for the assholes who have befriended my brother and called me shit like Chris 2 or Chris' Brother. Alright asshole, I see how little I matter so I'm just going to go now.
Hell, I gained a little bit of an identity issue with my brother when we were both in JROTC because a lot of people go by last names in that program. You have a twin, you end up getting called the same thing. Equated to each other. Etc. like that. Fun times.
But like Luz disrespecting Belos, I didn't take it as disrespectful until people started thinking I could be my brother's wrangler or that I should be matching my brother's athletic accomplishments. And that's what I feel about with Luz denying Belos the courtesy. It's kept at just the functional level of "You're the villain and this is the name you used to rise to power so I will not let you forget that," then seeming to be active malice about a person's identity and how they wish to be called.
Could it have been cut to be more comfortable to those who care deeply about dead names, identity, etc. like that? Yes. Could I imagine people with those same issues also overlooking it because at worst it's a microaggression as presented and the show is at least mostly respectful to people's identities? Also yes. So I don't really know which way to lean on it.
I wish I did. I wish I felt more comfortable with the subject. Frankly I'm paranoid about my personal stories here to give context to my perspective on these matters still being tasteless. I try not to let stuff like this stop me from giving my thoughts but…
Well, I want to be respectful. Maybe even more respectful than Luz is to others, depending on how you want to turn the globe of her character. Edit: I do want to mention that I actually have a fanfic where Luz is non-binary. I'm actually proud of how much that story will theoretically touch on identity and change frankly. At the time I also thought I had a Discord who would help me make sure to do it right/convinced me to give it a shot and didn't realize that enby people are considered on the trans spectrum. It's called Joro Rigged Pets. Like Crises Girlfriends, I plan to convert it someday after I finish it first as fanfiction. I'd love all of yours thoughts and feelings on how I'm doing it because like I said: I do try to be respectful. ========
I have a public Discord for any and all who want to join!
I also have an Amazon page for all of my original works in various forms of character focused romances from cute, teenage romance to erotica series of my past. I have an Ao3 for my fanfiction projects as well if that catches your fancy instead, If you want to hang out with me, I stream from time to time and love to chat with chat.
And finally a Twitter you can follow too!

//I think it's a very interesting point to explore the effect of Viserys' efficiency as a father on some of his children. In the earlier days, he seemed to enjoy a good relationship with Rhaenyra but he certainly didn't prepare her for becoming the heir to the iron throne beyond really just telling her about the song of ice and fire. It was as though it had been a token gesture naming her as heir to avoid the iron throne potentially passing on to Daemon. I believe Viserys didn't intend harm but he seemed to hold his word and promise to be a very important thing and didn't want to backtrack on promising the iron throne to Rhaenyra even though he had a natural male heir now. Viserys had to know that this was going to cause problems down the line with the attitudes in Westeros at the time and yet he didn't do anything really to assist or counsel Rhaenyra regarding this.
Think now of Aegon. He knows that he is his father's first born son and by the laws of inheritance pretty much everywhere he looks and the rhetoric coming from Alicent and Otto indicates that he would be King. His mother scares him into fearing for his life and no wonder Aegon doesn't want to be King, wants to avoid the responsibility not of being a ruler necessarily but the responsibility of seizing his birthrite from his sister who is the official named heir, from the 'realms delight.' His father should have given him guidance on where his place was and what to do. It seems Aegon is getting this from everywhere and everyone but his father. Viserys loves having a male heir and I feel like he loves the aesthetic of it like when he's watching them in the training yard but we don't really see any particularly strong parenting from him. Aegon was probably confused about where his real and true place is and Viserys has pretty much done nothing to alleviate the pressure that will fall on Aegon's shoulders when he dies. These are fairly heavy concepts to wrestle with so no wonder he wants to run away, no wonder he lashes out at Aemond probably with a touch of jealousy because he didn't carry this same pressure.
Then we come to Aemond of course. The second son, the one who stands to realistically inherent nothing and yet studies and trains and does everything with an almost zealous devotion despite it not being his heritage directly. It must have been very frustrating for him, to see even these bastard children more beloved by his father than he was. Now, I'm not saying Viserys didn't love Aemond, I'm saying that he didn't do enough to show it. His mother and grandsire seemed in general to have disregarded him in favour of focusing on Aegon, which is again understandable, but not to the point of almost completely disregarding him until he literally loses an eye. Even then, I'd argue that it wasn't so much the injury to him personally more it was the impact of an injury to a prince by a bastard within the royal household. Look at how stern Viserys is with him, look at how unsympathetic he seems to be, how he seems to be inclined to cleave to Rhaenyra and her son's. No wonder Alicent got so angry. The outcome of this effectively was Viserys asserting that no one was to question the legitimacy of Rhaenyra's children but his son losing an eye was fine. After all, Aemond was only the second son right? He wasn't the heir right? He wasn't first born so what did it matter?
I believe Aemond interpreted this as his father caring more for these bastard born boys that everyone knows are bastard born, than he cared for him. Aegon doesn't exactly do anything to soothe Aemond, just continues to treat him as he always did. Aemond is content with having found Vhagar and bonded with Vhagar but we know he never forgot it and won't let that pass without some form of retribution.
I can't pass much of a comment on Helaena because she seems to be disregarded by most people in her family although I genuinely feel that is different with Aemond.

hello! i hope this isn't weird uhhh... i like your analysis and i had some thoughts... so im a huge fan of kaveh but i don't ship kvhtm (but i respect it); but im really curious what people find in this ship. like i totally get it why ppl ship it: the parallels, the shared past, the roommate trope, etc etc. ofc you don't have to need a reason to ship smth but i like to think about how certain characters end up together and i think it's safe to say that canon-wise kvhtm is in a vague state now. they obvs care for each other, we saw it, but they have an unresolved conflict from the past. reading character stories i realized alhaitham doesn't really hold anything against kaveh, in fact kaveh is the one who can't move on from their akademiya project situation. it's like... one-sided conflict ahaha, alhaitham isn't mad at kaveh but kaveh is mad at alhaitham (or himself; or both). and kaveh is really sensitive to criticism that's why everytime alhaitham says something that's not meant to be even a tease kaveh believes it's an insult or disagreement. (i have LOTS of thoughts about their bickering but i don't want to make this too long). so, (in my opinion) in order for these two to have a honest dialog kaveh needs (therapy, yes, but also) to somehow accept the fact that despite their differences alhaitham doesn't try to change kaveh and they can be at least friends. (i feel like kaveh to alhaitham is like a puzzle that helps his brain to be more open to the things he never thinks of). the question is... how do you think they resolve this situation? what kaveh and alhaitham need to do in canon to become more close like in the akademiya days (or do they even need that). maybe that's just my perspective but i think kaveh needs a lot of work to truly start accepting alhaitham who he is;;; i would be really happy to read your thoughts on this! have a nice day <3
Not weird at all!
I guess first I'll say that I'm not too concerned with whether a relationship could be canon, I'm more interested in how the dynamic is while in the relationship. Which I mean, I do care about canon to an extent of course, but I just more enjoy character relationships (general, not romantic necessarily) and exploring them without getting too bogged down in the details.
But I do love to talk about Kaveh of course, and his dynamic with Alhaitham, in a shippy way or not.
It's interesting, because looking through Alhaitham's character stories again, when it comes to rebutting somebody or making comments, he won't really bother unless it aligns with a personal interest of his or is offensively foolish. But he and Kaveh have gone back and forth in essays (of which Kaveh literally saved clips of them in his sketchbook, showing that Kaveh values them on some level, whether positive or negative), and Alhaitham will consistently challenge Kaveh. It sort of seems like Kaveh is often the escalator of their arguments, but Alhaitham is repeatedly stated to be someone who just won't bother with these things if he's not interested in it. He doesn't even care about negative rumors about himself, unless it'll cause more trouble for him than if he simply corrected them.
Alhaitham also considers Kaveh to be his mirror (huge shippy point, if someone was inclined, we love our parallels and mirrors). So you can really learn a lot about one through the other.
Kaveh notes that Alhaitham can be friendly and likeable towards others if he wants to--but he just doesn't, and I think the ability-but-refusal-to is something that irks Kaveh much more than if Alhaitham just had like no social ability. As someone who cares a lot about other people, the fact that Alhaitham knows that his comments can be painful but specifically just doesn't bother with trying to soften them, is naturally something that will upset Kaveh. That's not even to mention his own experiences.
But the arguing isn't all negative. At the end of the event, in the scene between Alhaitham and Kaveh, Kaveh states that there's nothing that could be more sacred than two scholars of differing philosophies exploring that between each other. When they clash, there's probably satisfaction of butting heads with someone who is incredibly intelligent and insightful, even if you hate their views. I've gotten into some pretty passionate arguments with my friend before, honestly, mostly when our media takes are pretty much opposites. It's pretty fun, though obviously mine and my friend's relationship is a lot more positive and less complicated than Kaveh's and Alhaitham's.
A lot of the issue between them is that Kaveh isn't really ready to face reality, in that he's using his empathy towards others as a bludgeon on himself. During the second round of the championships, he gave all his food to the desert foxes and spent so much time trying to help them that he ended up passing out (which is VERY dangerous!!! He could've died! Heat stroke is no joke, and fainting is one of those immediate signs of "you need to get out of the heat and cool down IMMEDIATELY"). But it was just a temporary issue that they were facing, and would have been solved if he focused instead on his task, but it was his guilt that drove him to try and help them instead at risk of himself. His empathy towards the foxes wasn't so much the issue as the unnecessary amount of risk he put himself through because of his emotional anguish.
But Alhaitham also doesn't help all that much, because he really doesn't bother with softening his commentary, knowing that it'll cause Kaveh to dig in his heels and butt heads with him. Yet the fact that Alhaitham won't coddle him in any way makes him the only person that Kaveh will accept help from.
Also with their project they had a falling out over, Kaveh ripped his copy up out of anger, but later pieced it back together and saved it. This and then saving clips of their essay-fights I think does show how much Kaveh does value Alhaitham's input. It's probably really simple for Alhaitham, but like Kaveh says, for him it's just complicated.
All of this isn't really a response to what you asked for, I was mostly getting some off-the-top-of-the-head thoughts down for what I think of their relationship. But as to what will need to happen for their relationship to improve in canon, I don't think it's necessarily as bad as Kaveh claims it to be. Not all the arguing is fun or productive, but I think if their relationship improves they will still argue about things. Many things. Often. But they won't be fights. They have opposing views on the world, after all, and Kaveh finds egoism to be disgusting, and that won't change, but that on its own isn't friendship-breaking. Kaveh needs to deal with how he copes with his own trauma. It affects every part of his life. He'll work himself to the bone, staying up late nights to please a client, when Alhaitham (I think) notes that Kaveh is renowned and talented enough as an architect to be able to assert his own vision more. Even after reading his mother's journal, where she wants him to rely on companions when he's feeling down, he probably wouldn't have taken Tighnari's dinner invitation if not for the Traveler, because he's still so self-conscious of never wanting to bring others down with his own feeling down, even if it would be beneficial to him (just like during his childhood, he never wanted to be an emotional burden on his mother, and that hurt him).
Like I guess I want to stress that his empathy for others isn't the problem but more like, he takes it and uses it to punish himself more because he thinks he deserves that. Finding better balance in that will probably lessen the more sensitive things that Alhaitham brings up that especially anger Kaveh.
Though I think generally he does actually accept Alhaitham as he is. Alhaitham was always blunt and didn't care about how other people thought of him even in Akademiya days, but the breaking point of their friendship had been working closely together and Alhaitham's blunt comments that just cut straight through to Kaveh's soul were the breaking point (though they argued frequently during the project itself), and Kaveh wasn't ready to accept such things, that his altruism stemmed from his inescapable guilt rather than pure idealistic views. The project probably would have still broken down because of their squabbling, but idk if their friendship would have ended over it. Because Kaveh considered Alhaitham his best friend (as he is called in Kaveh's character story) and those comments did seriously hurt him.
But Kaveh doesn't say that Alhaitham should change completely, but that he should "rein in some of the worst excesses of his personality". That's why I think Kaveh does accept Alhaitham as he is, but even if butting heads with others is inevitable, living in a society and being the social creatures that humans are, having more consideration for others is sort of an important aspect of such interactions. Except Alhaitham actively rejects such rules and norms, unfortunately.
