DP x DC: Ghost x Family

So, back on my cute romcom BS

So the premise. Dani, as Danny's speed grown clone, wasn't the most physically stable. Turns out, it's really hard to speed grow a clone, and even harder when ectoplasm is involved. There's not enough time for the structures to properly stabilize and that leaves the cellular structure pretty weak and prone to breaking down into goo. The ecto dejecto was just a temporary solution and other measures were needed

aka Dani had to essentially grow a body from scratch the old fashion way, so she's now physically her actual age minus a couple months

So Danny, at the age of 20, is the father of a 4 year old Dani and is trying to keep a low profile in Gotham. His and his daughter's existence is still illegal, and being the single father of a 4 year old ghost girl isn't exactly easy. Now Danny has to deal with the very real threat of CPS being called on him by a neighbor, and trying to get Dani into school without either of them having papers for their assumed identity of Danny and Dani Nightingale and money to by fake documents. He'd ask Tucker, but that requires braking radio silence and potentially putting a target on all three of their backs.

Danny, desperate, asks his neighbor Jason to pose as his significant other for a meeting. Jason agrees, but things escalated and frankly he's now emotionally invested and committing to the bit

So now he and Danny have legally been married for about 4 months according to the papers Babs made them. The fake ID, birth certificates, SSNs, and high school diploma for the Nightingales were simple enough for her to do, but man Jason is going to owe her a BIG favor for this.

They move in together, Dani goes to a good private school, Jason is effectively Danny's sugar daddy paying for a sizable chunk of all this, and they are committing to the loving married couple bit, which is hard to do when the new in-laws are detectives

The best part?

Danny has not figured out Jason is the Red Hood, and Jason doesn't know about the ghost stuff. The only one that does? Dani, and she is physically and mentally 4 and watching Jason and Danny fall in love

I've been watching SPY x FAMILY and just need the fake relationship/family turns into a real relationship/found family dynamic. Jason is basically Loid, Danny is pretty much Yor, Dani fills the role of Anya, and uncle Dick is Yuri, except he's doting on Dani.

Dick is a smart man, but I love the headcanon that Jason is his emotional blindspot. Jason? MY Littlewing? He couldn't possibly.

"You are not a superhero; you are a detective. Start acting like one." The Police Captain's stern words hung heavily in the air as Y/N kept her head low. She hadn't uttered a word since entering the station, clearly grappling with some internal conflict, and getting reprimanded by the captain was far from her ideal solution.

Y/N sighed and looked up, the bruise under her eye standing out prominently. It appeared to be worsening, clear evidence of a recent punch to the face. "With all due respect, sir, I was doing my job, something that so many people here are afraid to do." She shifted in her seat, sitting up more comfortably. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'd like to go home and get some rest." Without waiting for further discussion, she rose from her seat and left the captain's office, grabbing her belongings from her desk as she replayed the events from just a few hours ago in her mind.

Y/N occupied the passenger seat of an unmarked Ford Explorer, observing the bustling Gotham streets as the car maintained a steady pace. She glanced over at her partner, Jessy, who was bobbing his head to the music playing on the radio. He must have noticed her gaze because he stole a glance in her direction before returning his attention to the road, a smile forming on his lips. "Do I have something on my face?" She quickly shook her head and cast her eyes downward, even though Jessy could sense that something was amiss.

"What's bothering you?" Y/N looked back at him and then out the window again before releasing a sigh. "It's nothing... just this frustrating case we've been working on." Lately, they had been assigned to a case involving a new vigilante who had been causing quite a stir in Gotham. He went by the name Red Hood, the same moniker the Joker had used a few years ago. However, there hadn't been any concrete connections between the two, leaving them puzzled.

“How about I take you out? To take your mind off everything," Jessy suggested, genuinely concerned. The case had been weighing heavily on both of them, and he believed that some time away from work would be beneficial.

It took Y/N a moment to respond, but just as she was about to reply, Jessy slammed on the brakes as something thudded against the hood of the car. They quickly realized it wasn't an object but a person.

They hastily exited the vehicle and began to give chase. Y/N got a brief glimpse of red and gasped before darting after the figure. "It's him!" she exclaimed, paying no heed to Jessy's calls to wait.

Y/N rounded a corner and spotted the Red Hood. She pushed past a few civilians in her path, calling out, "Stop! GCPD!" She sprinted as fast as she could, but the Red Hood proved to be faster. He abruptly turned into an alleyway and effortlessly scaled the walls. Y/N followed closely, watching as he disappeared onto the rooftop.

She was not going to give up.

She swiftly climbed the fire escape, and when she finally reached the top, the Red Hood had just landed on the adjacent building. "Stop!" she yelled once more, and as she reached the edge of the building, she peered down into the alleyway below. Taking a deep breath, she stepped back to get a running start. With a leap of faith, she descended, landing on her feet before losing her balance and rolling on the ground. She quickly regained her composure and persisted in following him, determined not to let him slip away.

He abruptly jumped down from the building, seemingly aware that there was nowhere else for him to go. Once his feet touched the ground, he hopped over a fence leading to an abandoned warehouse, with Y/N hot on his heels.

Inside the warehouse, she quickly lost sight of him. The place was shrouded in darkness, with the only illumination filtering in through the cracks in the boarded-up windows. Uncertain of what to expect, Y/N drew her gun from its holster. "GCPD! Come out with your hands up!" To her surprise, he complied. Emerging from the shadows, he slowly approached her.

"Hands up or I'll shoot!" she warned, her gun trained directly on the Red Hood, who appeared undaunted.

As the Red Hood drew closer, Y/N had no choice but to slowly back away, maintaining a cautious distance between them. They both had a moment to assess each other. She couldn't see his face, but she discerned a hint of green through the eye slot in his mask.

Unbeknownst to her, he had closed the gap between them. Without warning, he swiftly kicked his leg up, disarming Y/N of her gun. It clattered to the ground, and before she could react, he delivered a rapid punch to her face, sending her sprawling onto the floor. She struggled to regain her composure, but when she looked up, he had already vanished.

Once she emerged from the warehouse, Jessy had just arrived, having tracked them for nearly five blocks. He rushed up to her, placing a concerned hand on her shoulder, noticing a bruise forming under her eye. "Are you okay?" His voice was laced with worry.

"I'm fine," she responded curtly, pushing his hand away as she headed toward their car. Annoyance gnawed at her as she realized she had let the Red Hood escape yet again.

Jamie doesn't come to one of the team movie nights (they have to push it back from like 7:00 to like 10:00, and daddy's special football baby can't be out that late because he has daddy's extra special good boy training at 4 the next morning. duh), so the new guy gets a chance to talk to everyone without Jamie and is immediately like. "Hey I've been meaning to ask. What the fuck is going on with Jamie and coach Kent"

And he's expecting someone to explain that they have some kind of history or they're hooking up on the DL or Roy is actually evil and Jamie is in danger or something but they all just look at him like ????

And eventually Sam is like "oh, I don't know. Don't worry, that's just their relationship :)" and they all just go back to watching Mama Mia like that's a sufficient explanation for anything

But ultimately I think anybody new who came in would also accept it pretty quickly tbh. At the end of the day what really matters to them is that the team is successful, and clearly whatever the fuck Roy is doing to Jamie is turning him into a fucking powerhouse, which benefits all of them because Jamie is the centerpoint of their whole strategy. The consensus is that as long as they continue winning like crazy, Roy and Jamie can do whatever they want

Jason and Monica are lowkey both neat and control freaks (obviously more Monica) and both feel under appreciated by their parents. They both discover who they are and learn to love and accept themselves of course with the help of their silly sarcastic boyfriend who just happens to be their older brother’s best friend. Roy and Chandler, 1, have had past addiction issues (chandler and his smoking, not matthew perry, rip) but both choosing to right their addictions. 2, Both use to be in a band *teehee* and 3, both want love but find it hard and have bad luck.
