Signal transmitter my beloved
Long story short, we were on Rend, I was the last one coming back to the ship, watching out for giants/blind dogs
Get a message transmitted telling me to run. Run for my life, not knowing why.
I get to the ship as my friends close the door, and they tell me I was being chased by a fucking masked enemy, just seeing it getting close to me on the radar.
Terrifying, I love this game
Thank you @rukafais @asp1diske for saving my oblivious ass

Remember, My Love. (22)
Fandom: Resident Evil 8 Village
Lycan Karl Heisenberg x Female Reader
Rated M for Violence, language and Smut
***
Silence. A sensation that can be both pleasant and unpleasant depending on the situation. And currently, the silence was unpleasant. Karl couldn't hear anything around him. He didn't see anything else either. Was he dead? Had Miranda killed him? No. He remembers little by little. Combat. The places. Pain. Miranda's gaze. Aria... He couldn't forget. Not her. Her face, her adorable face. Her smile, so innocent. That sweet farewell kiss she gave him. And her tears. He couldn't erase them from his memory. Miranda will pay for it. She's going to pay a lot for everything she's done. Simply killing her would only be a too sweet punishment for her. No... Karl intends to make her suffer. Suddenly he heard voices. Family voices. Alcina, Donna, Angie, the Dimitrescu girls and... Chris. Then he felt pain. And tissue on his skin. Bandages. Again. But above all. The pleasant warmth of the sun.
When he opened his eyes, he realized that he was no longer in the factory, but in one of the rooms of the Beneviento House. How did he end up there? Who had worn it so far? Anyway, he was alive. And this thanks to the care he received. He stood up not without grimacing. holding his stomach before moving towards the door and opening it gently. The voices became clearer and Karl could hear better.
“Miranda is too strong! you've seen what it's like! In addition, Moreau is on her side! even if we are more numerous, they have the advantage!” said Angie.
“And then you saw what she did to Uncle Karl?? He could have died there! Luckily Aunt Donna knows as much medicine as Uncle Moreau does!” said Daniella worried.
“And now she has Aria in her hands. She will sacrifice her to bring her daughter back to life! we failed!” said Bella.
“No. Not yet.” said Karl, surprising everyone. Even Chris.
“Karl...” said Alcina, rushing to him in order to hug him tenderly. “I was so scared for you. I thought this time...”
“I believe that death doesn’t want to see me in his kingdom at all. To keep me alive for so long...” replied the latter, chuckling before coughing.
“How do you feel? She inflicted a hell of a wound on you.” asks Chris.
“It will only be one more. it's okay, I'm fine. She just... weakened me to prevent me from transforming myself. I could have easily blocked her silver blade but... she has a hell of a grip for a woman. But I feel that my strength has returned. Thank you for worrying about that.”
“Uncle Karl... Aria is...” starts Cassandra.
“I know. She... she sacrificed herself to save me. She traded her life for mine.”
“What are we doing now? We have no way of knowing where they are.” said Alcina.
“... Do you still have it with you?” replied Karl, looking at Chris.
The latter smiled at him and took out of one of his pockets, a small box to show it to Karl. Karl smiled and sneered before gently grabbing the small box in his hands. He checked that everything was intact before returning it to Chris.
“Perfect.” simply said Karl.
“What is it?” ask Alcina curious and suspicious.
“This small box is a signal transmitter. It is usually accompanied by a small transmitter. if I turn it on, it will send a signal, which the small transmitter will send back to the box. And we will know the position of the signal. Basically, to make it simpler...” said Chris.
“Thanks to this we will be able to find Aria. And Miranda.” replied Karl.
“You can tell us when you were able to put this... transmitter on Miranda?” said Donna.
“We didn't put it on Miranda.” responds Karl, smiling.
All looked at each other, surprised, before turning their gaze to Chris and Karl. Several hours before...
* Ok, Angie is on her way to talk with Moreau. Your whole team is ready to intervene... And me and Aria will take care of Alcina. we just have to cross our fingers for it to work, Redfield. * Said Heisenberg.
*I hope so. But we still have one more little thing to see. * Responds Chris.
*And what is it? *
* As I told you, you have to be prepared for everything. Miranda is strong. So, there is a possibility for her to succeed in capturing Aria. *
*It won’t happen. *
*How could you know? All it takes is a moment of inattention. And if it happens. Aria can never be found. So, for that...* Replied Chris, taking out a small transmitter.
*A transmitter? you want to track Aria and Miranda with that? *
*Absolutely. If Aria is ever captured, thanks to the signal of the box and this small transmitter, we will be able to know Miranda's position without her knowing it. *
* Still, she must not find it. And where do you intend to hide it on Aria? Be careful with your answer. *
*Well...*
* Behind my necklace. * Interrupts Aria. * She will never suspect that I am hiding something behind my necklace. And I don't think she's the type to search. She must have expected me to agree to help her without flinching. *
*So basically, Aria serves as bait. I thought you were protecting the widow and orphan Redfield. Not that you used them to succeed in your plans. * Replied Karl.
*That’s the case. if I can avoid involving civilians, I do. The problem is that Aria is Miranda's target. If we don't want to lose sight of her, and if we want to stop Miranda, we really have no other choice. * Said Chris.
*… you better hope that would work, otherwise you're dead. Got it? *
*Got it. *
*Give me the transmitter. I'll put it on Aria. *
“Both of you are... really a crazy team... You both found each other well. And to say that you kill each other a few hours ago.... it's scary.” said Daniela.
“Like what... things are not always what they seem to be.” said Donna.
“It doesn’t solve the problem. Miranda is always stronger than us. How are we going to beat her?” said Alcina.
“I have no idea. But the priority is to prevent her from killing Aria. And to succeed in her ritual.” Responds Chris.
“That, I make it my business. On the other hand... I am the one who deals the final blow to Miranda. It is a matter of honour. And revenge.” Said Karl. Chris nodded and used his headset to contact his team.
“Here Alpha, you receive me?”
“here’s Lobo. I receive you 5 out of 5, captain. What’s going on?”
“I'm going to need you. I placed a transmitter on the young Aria. Unfortunately, Miranda captured her. She intends to sacrifice her. I need the exact coordinates of their position.”
“Copy that. Send me the signal as soon as you have it.”
Chris activated the signal transmitter and looked at the screen. A bright spot flashed slowly. He sent the signal to Lobo, so that in turn he could determine the exact position of the young woman.
“OK. If I am not mistaken, the signal comes from the village. More precisely from the center of the village. But it is weak.” Said Lobo.
“The center of the village? It’s impossible.”
“And yet it is.”
“And you say the signal is weak?”
“Yes. As if there’s something blocking the signal.”
“... They are underground. What’s in the center of the village?”
“The church. The cemetery. And the statue. As well as dwellings.” said Angie.
“... There must be a passage underground. And the entrance must be under one of them. The church is too small.” starts Chris.
“And I don't think Miranda would use a grave in the cemetery to create her passageway. On the other hand, the statue in its center... I've always found it strange.” said Karl.
“Now we know where to go. Lobo, I want you and the whole team to be ready to step in and get us back. Because there is a good chance that Miranda will lead us the hard life. Got it?” said Chris.
“Got it. You can count on us Captain. Lobo, over.”
“Can they really be trusted?” Ask Alcina.
“You can. They never disappointed me. These guys have always given their lives to succeed in the missions we were entrusted with. They are tough guys. and men of honour. This is my squad.” replied Chris.
The whole team got together to sort out the final details before setting off for the village. Meanwhile, in the underground. Miranda was quietly preparing the ritual. Aria was locked in a cell, curled up on herself with tears in her eyes. She knew she wouldn't come back this time. That was the end. The real one this time. But she couldn't help but keep a glimmer of hope. She knows that Chris and the others are still alive. She knows they are on their way to save her. All she hopes is that they arrive before it is too late. Because she knows that if she were to die again, Karl wouldn't stand it. And that, she herself doesn’t support.
“Chris... Karl... and everyone else... I beg you. Come to my rescue. I beg you... Help me. Get me out of this nightmare.”
That's all she could say before she started crying. Tears flowed from her face, like an endless waterfall. Some fell on her clothes; others fell to the ground. But something ...particular happened with the tears of the young woman. Something that no one, not even Miranda, saw. When they touched the ground, the tears began to... freeze. And it was no longer tears littering the ground... but small ice crystals.
There’s not a minute to lose now. The countdown has begun.
And this time, there will be no second chance.
Not anymore.

La Danse Macabre
Episode 40-2: Unheard Voices, Delivered Voices
Chapter Index
Three Years Later
Cura: Uuuugh!!!
Cura: Damn, I'm tired! These fights just won't end.
Rebellion Fighter: C'mon, Cura, there's no need to get mad.
Cura: I know. I just wish we had more people around here.
Cura: Nerve's been acting real suspicious lately. I have no idea what they're planning.
[Door opens]
Reue: Yawn... Now that was a good nap.
Cura: ........
Reue: Lately, I've been feeling just awful right before and after waking up. Maybe my age is starting to get the best of me.
Rebellion Fighter: G-good morning, sir.
Reue: Mornin'.
Cura: You DO realize that you're technically our second highest ranking member?
Reue: Well, if it isn't Mr. Top Dog. Hard at work as always, I see.
Cura: You should give working a chance yourself, Reue.
Reue: No thanks~. Libel promised me a job that requires as little effort as possible.
Cura: Ugh... You mean the asshole who went and died, right after making promises he didn't have to keep..?
Reue: Hahaha, you're such a jokester.
Rebellion Fighter: Cura! The transportation team from District 4 has run into a Unity Order patrol! They're requesting immediate backup!
Cura: What, seriously? Let's get 'em on the monitor.
Cura: This looks bad... Do we have any free squads nearby..?
Reue: Ah, I think we've got it covered.
Cura: Huh?
Reue: I thought this might happen, so I already sent over a certain someone.
- - - -
Unity Order Troop: For the Church of Nerve... For Master Misericorde...
Rebellion Fighter: Crap... They've got us surrounded...
Unity Order Troop: For the Church of Nerve... For Master Misericorde...
Rebellion Fighter: I've sent an emergency signal to the base! But...
Rebellion Fighter: I don't think we're gonna make it...
Leiden: Hold up!!!
Rebellion Fighters: ......!?
Leiden: I came to save your asses!
Rebellion Fighter: ...Leiden!
Unity Order Troop: That's...
Unity Order Troop: One of the traitors...
Leiden: Hmm.
Leiden: ...Traitor, huh? Sure, I guess I am...
Leiden: And that's just fine by me. I've really thought this through, even with my empty head.
Unity Order Troop: Stay on guard...
Unity Order Troop: We all strike at the same time..! For the Church of Nerve!
Leiden: Yeah, come at me! I fight for myself!
Leiden: Because I'm Rebellion's Leiden!
Leiden: Don't you forget that!!!
- - - -
Cura: Oh, Leiden's going there. That's a relief...
Reue: Isn't it?
Cura: Fine, I guess you helped. ...But could you at least let me know  when you send out more troops?
Reue: Hahaha. When I notice an oversight in your orders, I can't help but want to fix it.
Cura: You sly old man...
Reue: Come to think of it, it's been around three years since Eternea died and Misericorde took over as the ruler of the church.
Reue: And because of Misericorde, the Unity Order is even more deeply tied to the church now.
Reue: Eternea must've been holding the church back.
Reue: The current Ark follows Misericorde's orders like a hive mind.
Reue: It'll be tough to bring them down. They've never been quite this fanatical before.
Cura: Yeah, they may not have a Celestial right now, but there's still an obvious gap between our technology and theirs.
Cura: Geez... It's gonna be a while before we overthrow them...
Reue: But we'll do it anyway, won't we? Create a world without Celestials.
Cura: Yep, that's what Libel would've wanted. And I decided to stick by him when we were both kids.
Reue: ...You've been doing well. The Surface's forces are concentrated around Rebellion more and more these days.
Reue: We've gotten new members too, haven't we? I'd say you've achieved more than plenty, for such a young man.
Cura: This much is nothing. I'm not nearly as charismatic as our old leader.
Reue: You're too humble. The world is already changing, and I'm sure it's for the better.
Cura: I sure hope so. Especially for all those of us who died for this change.
Horca: Hey... it's not healthy to let yourself be tied down by dead people. We're here for the living.
Reue: Oh, you came to visit, Mr. Merchant?
Cura: Done with your negotiations?
Horca: Yep, thanks so much. I'll be on my way now.
Cura: You're not ripping us off, are you?
Horca: ...Maybe I am, maybe not. Have a little faith in your subordinates, will you.
Cura: Well, for an old enemy, you sure have been a reliable business partner.
Reue: Right. I hear you even trade with Nerve these days.
Horca: I don't give a damn about the past. I'm just doing whatever I can to live a fun, free life.
Horca: I don't wanna hold myself back. That's not why I was born into this world, nor is it why I've survived this far.
Cura: ...I guess that's the life for you, then.
Horca: You guys have nothing to worry about. My motto is to sell everything at the same price, no matter who's buying.
Horca: I'm not making favors to any side. If I did, my old friends would just laugh at me.
Horca: ...I guess I'm tied down by the dead in my own way, too.
Cura: ...Nah. Neither of us are being tied down.
Cura: I'm doing this for Libel and Fuga because I want to.
Horca: ...That so. Well, either way, I’m  looking forward to this new world of yours.
Horca: Make sure that it’s a place  where even people like my old crew  can live.
Reue: ...Haha. Everyone's put their expectations on you.
Cura: What a pain. It's not like I asked for any of this.
Reue: It's the duty of those of us who lived.
Cura: ........
Cura: Oh, it's almost time. ...Get ready, people.
Reue: Oh, it is? I've been waiting for this.
Cura: Yeah, you better have. The kid's our ray of hope.
 - - - -
Qual: Arme. It's almost time. Are you good to go?
Arme: Yes, Qual. I'm ready.
Qual: ...You're not lonely? You haven't been around other people for quite the while now.
Arme: Hm? I'm fine. I have you... And Kabane and the others come see me every now and then.
Arme: Hmm, though I'd be lying if I said I didn't feel even a little bit lonely...
Arme: Cura and his troops are fighting their own fight, and I'm fighting mine.
Qual: I see...
Arme: For as long as I live, a new Celestial can't be born.
Arme: That grants Rebellion more than enough time to win us the world Libel longed for.
Qual: You've grown so strong.
Arme: Strong...
Arme: Qual, listen to me. I've decided something.
Arme: I want to help everyone live their lives.
Arme: However, I can't reach out to or help them in person.
Arme: Still, there may be those who would gain courage from me, even from afar.
Qual: ...Right, living on the Surface has made one thing very clear to me. Those who live in this world need something to believe in.
Qual: The Surface is free. And that's why its people are afraid. They're anxious about the path they've chosen.
Qual: We could all use something to light up that path.
Arme: Right...
Arme: Libel said I'd bring everyone hope.
Qual: Yes, he did...
Arme: I was the Celestial. The symbol of everyone's faith. But no one saw me for who I truly am.
Arme: ...The truth is, I'm completely  useless. I'm weak, cowardly, naive,  and not very good at reading social  situations, or so I’ve been told.
Arme: Which is why I'm not fit to lead a religion. I'm not some perfect idol.
Arme: I need others to help me. I need others to keep me from feeling down.
Arme: And in turn, I'll do whatever I can for them.
Arme: Anything to help others live their life to the fullest.
Arme: I want to be the light that shines upon this world.
[Beep]
Cura: Arme, you ready? I'm jacking into the Surface's radio signal. We’re  counting on you, as usual...
Arme: Yes, I'm ready as can be.
Cura: People were pretty suspicious about this at first, but you've gained kind of a fanbase as of late.
Arme: Ooh, really!?
Arme: Actually, I was thinking of learning how to sing and dance.
Cura: Hahaha, sounds good to me. I'm sure everyone will love it.
Cura: ...Just do your best, kid. And...
Cura: Make sure you enjoy this more than anyone else, alright?
Arme: Yes, I will! I'll have so much fun!
- - - -
Horca: ...Doing it because you want to, huh.
Horca: Ugh, Cura's starting to rub off on me. And so, here I am... Visiting a grave.
Horca: ...It's my first time coming here since I left.
Horca: The Underworld... It really isn't a big deal at all. Just a huge, dumb hole.
Horca: ........
Horca: Ah. Vida, Placer. Is it okay if I just... pretend you're in there?
Horca: I...
Horca: Wanted to apologize. For not coming here sooner.
Horca: All I ever did was make fun of you for being bound to the dead.
Horca: ...But I was wrong. It's not a bad thing that I keep you guys in my memories.
Horca: It's not wrong of me to do something I think would make you happy.
Horca: ...Then again, I can't hear the dead.
Horca: You guys won't mind if I just assume you're happy that I'm still alive, will you?
Horca: ........
Horca: ...Well, you'd better not.
Horca: One of the perks to being alive is I get to pretend your souls in the afterlife agree with everything I do.
Horca: Hah... And if that's a problem, you'll just have to speak up.
[Bzzt]
Arme: Ah, ah.
Horca: Uagh!?
Horca: That scared the crap out of me... I really thought the dead were gonna talk for a second...
Horca: Huh? There's something coming from my transmitter..? Who is that..?
Arme: Cura? Can they hear me yet?
Horca: Whuh?
- - - -
Arme: Ah, ah. Testing, testing.
Konoe: Oh, I've got a signal! It's starting, Master Kuon!
Kuon: Ah, how exciting.
Konoe: Kabane! Come over and listen with us!
Kabane: ...No. I can hear just fine from where I am.
Konoe: Darn!
Konoe: He's still acting distant... I thought you finally made up, after all these years?
Kuon: Ahaha. Kabane still has some trouble being around me.
Kuon: ...But he can take his time changing. We have an eternity ahead of us, after all.
- - - -
Arme: Ahem.
Arme: All of you living your lives on the Surface, can you hear me?
Arme: My name is Arme.
Arme: Today, well...
Arme: Why don't I tell you how I met a dear friend, who changed my life?
The End.

Runaway - Part Eighteen
~Masterlist~
Concept: Hazel Richards is a twenty-year-old woman living in London. When she meets a mysterious time-travelling alien known only as the Hunter, she’s thrust into a world of wonder she could only have imagined.
Warnings: swearing, follows S1 of Doctor Who.
"You know the Hunter," the nearest Dalek to Hazel stated, swivelling to face her. "You understand her. You will predict her actions."
"I don't know," Hazel told it. "And even if I did, I wouldn't tell you."
"Predict! Predict! Predict!" the Dalek ordered.
"TARDIS detected in flight."
"Launch missiles. Exterminate!"
"You can't!" Hazel protested, her eyes widening. "The TARDIS hasn't got any defences. You're going to kill her!"
The Dalek looked at her. "You have predicted correctly."
***
"We've got incoming!" Jack announced, seeing the missiles on the monitor. They struck the TARDIS, but inside, they felt little more than a minor jolt. He grinned. "The extrapolator's working. We've got a fully functional forcefield. Try saying that when you're drunk."
The Hunter smiled at him from across the console. "And for my next trick." She materialised the TARDIS around Hazel, trying not to get any Daleks too. As it was, only one was in the TARDIS. "Haze, get down! Get down, Haze!"
Hazel hit the deck, and the Dalek's head and body swivelled round to look at the Hunter. "Exterminate!" She ducked, making it miss, and Jack took it out with his Defabricator.
"You did it," Hazel breathed, hugging the Hunter tightly. "Feels like I haven't seen you in years."
"I told you I'd come and get you," the Hunter reminded her.
"Never doubted it," Hazel smiled.
"I did," the Hunter admitted, pulling back to look her over. "You all right?"
"Yeah," she nodded. "You?"
The Hunter blew out a breath shakily. "Been better."
"Hey, don't I get a hug?" Jack complained.
Hazel grinned. "Oh, come here!"
"I was talking to her," Jack joked, but hugged her. "Welcome home, Jules."
"Oh, I thought I'd never see you again," Hazel sighed, grinning.
Jack scoffed. "Oh, you were lucky. That was just a one shot wonder. Drained the gun of all its power supply. Now it's just a piece of junk." He tossed the Defabricator aside, and they went over to the Hunter, who was watching the smoking remains of the Dalek wistfully.
"You said they were extinct," Hazel said, putting her hand on her arm. "How comes they're still alive?"
"One minute they're the greatest threat in the universe, the next minute they vanished out of time and space," Jack added.
"They went off to fight a bigger war," the Hunter told him. "The Time War."
Jack's eyes widened. "I thought that was just a legend."
The Hunter shook her head, putting her hand over Hazel's. "I was there. The war between the Daleks and the Time Lords, with the whole of creation at stake. My people were destroyed, but they took the Daleks with them. I almost thought it was worth it. Now it turns out they died for nothing."
Hazel bit her lip. "There's thousands of them now. We could hardly stop one. What're we going to do?"
There was a long pause in which none of them said a word. Hazel and Jack were waiting for the Hunter to think of something, hoping she could save them. The Hunter was watching them with wide eyes, wondering how these two beautiful, brilliant humans were so prepared to fight a losing battle with her. Barely a year ago, Hazel had been a normal human girl, living with a man who wasn't even really her brother. Not six months ago, Jack had been a coward, a conman, a crook. And now the pair of them were stepping up to try and save the world, maybe even the universe, against a race of creatures thriving on hate and murder. It was a losing battle, but there was no one else she'd rather fight it with. If only Apollo were there to make it even better.
She took a deep breath, then grinned at them. "No good stood round here chin-wagging. Human race, you'd gossip all day. The Daleks have got the answers. Let's go and meet the neighbours."
Hazel's eyes widened as the Hunter headed for the door. "You can't go out there!"
"Exterminate! Exterminate! Exterminate!"
The Hunter stepped out of the TARDIS, rolling her eyes as the Dalek rays were stopped by the extrapolator forcefield. "Seriously? Is that it? Useless! Nul points." She turned around and beckoned Hazel and Jack out. "It's all right, come on out. That forcefield can hold back anything."
"Almost anything," Jack corrected, then winced at the look the Hunter shot him.
"Gee, Jack, I wonder what it was I wasn't going to tell them? Oh, wait."
He smiled sheepishly. "Sorry."
She rolled her eyes, turning back to the Daleks. "Do you know what they call me in the ancient legends of the Dalek Homeworld? The Bringer of Darkness. You might've removed all your emotions but I reckon right down deep in your DNA, there's one little spark left, and that's fear. Doesn't it just burn when you face me? So tell me. How did you survive the Time War?"
"They survived through me." The lights came on to reveal a giant opened Dalek casing, the inner one-eyed mutant sitting as if on its throne.
"Haze, Captain, this is the Emperor of the Daleks," the Hunter introduced, her eyes widening ever so slightly.
"You destroyed us, Hunter. The Dalek race died in your inferno, but my ship survived, falling through time, crippled but alive," the Emperor stated.
"I get it," the Hunter nodded.
"Do not interrupt."
"Do not interrupt."
"Do not interrupt."
The Hunter raised an eyebrow. "I think you're forgetting something. I'm the Hunter, and if there's one thing I can do, it's talk. I've got five billion languages, and you haven't got one way of stopping me. So if anybody here's going to be shutting up, it's you!" She smirked as the Daleks backed away. "So, where were we?"
"We waited here in the dark space, damaged but rebuilding," the Emperor explained. "Centuries passed, and we quietly infiltrated the systems of Earth, harvesting the waste of humanity. The prisoners, the refugees, the dispossessed. They all came to us. The bodies were filtered, pulped, sifted. The seed of the human race is perverted. Only one cell in a billion was fit to be nurtured."
"So you created an army of Daleks out of the dead," the Hunter realised, disgusted.
"That makes them half human," Hazel pointed out.
"Those words are blasphemy!" the Emperor decreed.
"Do not blaspheme."
"Do not blaspheme."
"Do not blaspheme."
"Everything human has been purged. I cultivated pure and blessed Dalek," the Emperor stated.
The Hunter frowned. "Since when did the Daleks have a concept of blasphemy?"
"I reached into the dirt and made new life. I am the God of all Daleks!"
"Worship him."
"Worship him."
"Worship him."
"They're insane," the Hunter realised. "Hiding in silence for hundreds of years, that's enough to drive anyone mad. But it's worse than that. Driven mad by your own flesh. The stink of humanity. You hate your own existence. And that makes them more deadly than ever. We're going."
"You may not leave my presence," the Emperor forbade.
"Toodle-oo!" the Hunter waved, then shut the door behind her, Hazel, and Jack. She leant her forehead against the door for a long moment, sighing. She looked down as a hand slipped into hers, and managed a smile, squeezing gently.
***
"Turn everything up!" the Hunter ordered as soon as she exited the TARDIS on Floor Five Hundred. "All transmitters full power, wide open. Now! Do it!"
"What does this do?" Pavale asked, even as he did as told.
"Stops the Daleks from transmatting on board," the Hunter replied. "How did you get on? Did you contact Earth?"
Pavale bit his lip. "Well, we tried to warn them, but all they did was suspend our license because we stopped the programmes."
The Hunter sighed. "And the planet's just sitting there, defenceless." She blinked, seeing a familiar blonde working at a console to up the transmitters. "Lynda, what're you still doing on board? I told you to evacuate everyone."
"She wouldn't go," Pavale muttered.
Lynda blushed. "Didn't want to leave you."
Another woman scoffed. "There weren't enough shuttles anyway, or I wouldn't be here. We've got about a hundred people stranded on Floor Zero."
Pavale blanched looking at his computer screen. "Oh my God. The Fleet is moving. They're on their way."
The Hunter sprung into action, talking as she started building something, pulling things out of the conduits to make it with. "Dalek plan. Big mistake, because what have they left me with? Anyone? Anyone? Oh, come on, it's obvious. A great big transmitter. This station. If I can change the signal, fold it back, sequence it, anyone?"
Jack's eyes widened. "You've got to be kidding."
"Give the man a medal!"
"A Delta Wave?" Jack asked.
The Hunter grinned. "A Delta Wave!"
Hazel frowned. "What's a Delta Wave?"
"A wave of Van Cassadyne energy," Jack replied. "It fries your brain. Stand in the way of a Delta Wave and your head gets barbequed."
"And this place can transmit a massive wave," the Hunter added. "Wipe out the Daleks!"
"Well, get started and do it then," Lynda encouraged.
The Hunter bit her lip. "Trouble is, wave this size, building this big, brain as clever as mine, should take about...ooh, three days? How long till the Fleet arrive?"
"Twenty two minutes," Pavale answered, blanching.
***
Jack stood up a while later after helping the Hunter to start building the basics of the Delta Wave. "We've now got a forcefield so they can't blast us out of the sky, but that doesn't stop the Daleks from physically invading."
"Do they know about the Delta Wave?" Pavale asked.
"They'll have worked it out at the same time," Jack confirmed. "So, they want to stop the Hunter. That means they've got to get to this level, Five Hundred. Now, I can concentrate the extrapolator around the top six levels, Five Hundred to Four Ninety Five. So they'll penetrate the station below that at level Four Ninety Four and fight their way up."
"Who are they fighting?" Pavale questioned, already knowing the answer.
"Us," Jack deadpanned.
Pavale sighed. "And what are we fighting with?"
"The guards had guns with bastic bullets," Jack replied. "That's enough to blow a Dalek wide open."
"There's five of us," one woman protested.
"Haze, you can help me," the Hunter requested hastily. "I need all these wires stripping bare."
The woman rolled her eyes. "Right, now there's four of us."
"Then let's move it," Jack ordered. "Into the lift. Isolate the lift controls." Pavale and his colleague ran off, leaving just Jack, Lynda, the Hunter, and Hazel.
"I just want to say, well, thanks, I suppose, and I'll do my best," Lynda said, shrugging.
"Me too," the Hunter agreed. They shook hands, and she went to the lifts.
Jack sighed, looking between them. "It's been fun, but I guess this is goodbye."
"Don't talk like that," Hazel told him. "Artie's going to do it. You just watch her."
He hugged her. "Jules, you are worth fighting for." He kissed her, making her roll her eyes. Then he moved onto the Hunter, who made an effort to smile. "Wish I'd never met you, Queenie. I was much better off as a coward." He kissed her, too. He laughed a little as he pulled back, seeing the way they were both looking at him, like they couldn't bear him to go. "See you in hell." He jogged off, knowing that if he stayed any longer, they'd persuade him not to go.
Hazel bit her lip. "He's going to be all right, isn't he?"
The Hunter sighed, watching him go. "I hope so."
***
Jack climbed up to stand on a pile of crates on Floor Zero, firing a machine gun into the air to get everyone's attention. "One last time! Any more volunteers? There's an army about to invade this station. I need every last citizen to mount a defence."
"Don't listen to him!" Rodrick shouted. "There aren't any Daleks. They disappeared thousands of years ago."
"Thanks," Jack nodded as one of the workers volunteered. "As for the rest of you, the Daleks will enter the station at Floor Four Ninety Four and as far as I can tell, they'll head up, not down. But that's not a promise. So here's a few words of advice. Keep quiet. And if you hear fighting up above, if you hear us dying, then tell me that the Daleks aren't real. Don't make a sound." He turned back to his team, jumping down off the box. "Let's go." They got into the lift.
***
"Suppose..." Hazel began, then shook her head, going back to the wires she was stripping.
"What?" the Hunter asked, making connections to build the wave.
"Nothing."
The Hunter glanced up at her. "You said suppose."
"No, I was just thinking," Hazel shrugged. "I mean, obviously you can't, but you've got a time machine. Why can't you just go back to last week and warn them?"
"As soon as the TARDIS lands in that second, I become part of events, stuck in the timeline," the Hunter explained.
Hazel nodded, sighing. "Yeah, thought it'd be something like that."
"There's another thing the TARDIS could do," the Hunter suggested. "She could take us away. We could leave. Let history take its course. We could go to Marbella in 1989."
"Yeah, but you'd never do that," Hazel pointed out.
"No, but you could ask." The Hunter smiled at Hazel's surpised expression, shaking her head. "Never even occurred to you, did it?"
"Well, I'm just too good," Hazel shrugged, grinning.
The Hunter looked up as a computer bleeped. "The Delta Wave's started building. How long does it need?" She ran over to the console, Hazel following, unable to make sense of what was on screen.
"Is that bad?" she asked, then caught sight of the Hunter's pale expression. "Okay, it's bad. How bad is it?"
"Hazel Norton, you're a genius!" the Hunter declared suddenly. "We can do it. If I use the TARDIS to cross my old timeline..." She pretended to think, then grinned. "Yes!" She ushered Hazel into the TARDIS and pointed to a lever. "Hold that down and keep it in position."
Hazel did so, grinning at her enthusiasm. "What's it do?"
"Cancels the buffers," the Hunter lied. "If I'm very clever - and I'm more than clever, I'm brilliant - I might just save the world." She paused. "Or rip it apart."
"I'd go for the first one," Hazel said, making a face.
"Me too," the Hunter admitted, grinning. "Now, I've just got to go and power up the Game Station. Hold on!" She ran out, and stopped, the doors swinging shut behind her. She buzzed her sonic screwdriver and the engines started.
"Art, what're you doing?" Hazel called from inside. "Can I take my hand off? It's moving." There was a banging on the door. "Artie, let me out! Let me out! Artie, what've you done?" The Hunter closed her eyes briefly as the TARDIS dematerialised. At least she was safe.
***
Inside, Hazel whipped around as she heard a familiar voice, only to curse when she saw the Hunter was just a hologram. "This is Emergency Programme One. Hazel, please, listen, this is important. If this message is activated, then it can only mean one thing. We must be in danger. And I mean fatal. I'm dead or about to die any second with no chance of escape."
"No!" Hazel cried.
"And that's okay," the Hunter smiled. "Hope it's a good death. But I promised to look after you, and that's what I'm doing. The TARDIS is taking you home."
"I won't let you!" Hazel started fiddling with the controls, to no effect.
"And I bet you're fussing and moaning now. I'm flattered, really, I am. But hold on and just listen a bit more. The TARDIS can never return for me. Emergency Programme One means I'm facing an enemy that should never get their hands on this machine. So this is what you should do. Let the TARDIS die. Just let this old box gather dust. No one can open her. No one'll even notice her. Let her become a strange little thing standing on a street corner. And over the years, the world'll move on, and the box will be buried. And if you want to remember me, then you can do one thing. That's all, just one thing." And the hologram suddenly turned so the Hunter was staring directly into Hazel's eyes, and the human girl saw something in her eyes stronger than anything she'd ever seen before. "Have a good life. Do that for me, Haze. Have a fantastic life." The hologram flickered out, and Hazel made a noise like a strangled cat.
"You can't do this to me!" she shrieked. "You can't! Take me back! Take me back!" She looked up as the engines stopped. "No!" She ran outside, only to see the Powell Estate, then ran back in. "Come on, fly! How do you fly? Come on, help me!" Eventually, she gave up and slumped against the outside of the box, tears pouring down her cheeks.
"I knew it!" Mike shouted, running up to her. "I was all the way down Clifton Parade, and I heard the engines. I thought, there's only one thing that makes a noise like that." He paused, noticing her distress. "What is it?"
She just buried her head in her arms, crying her heart out.
***
"Jules, I've called up the internal laser codes," Jack called through the comms system, making the Hunter look up from her work to the viewscreen he was on. "There should be a different number on every screen. Can you read them out to me?"
"She's not here," the Hunter told him.
Jack groaned. "Of all the times to take a leak. When she gets back, tell her to read me the codes."
"She's not coming back," the Hunter shook her head, looking away.
He frowned. "What do you mean? Where'd she go?"
"Just get on with your work," she ordered.
"You took her home, didn't you," he realised.
She nodded, meeting his eyes. "Yeah."
"The Delta Wave, is it ever going to be ready?" Jack asked.
The Dalek Emperor appeared on a second viewscreen. "Tell him the truth, Hunter. There is every possibility the Delta Wave could be complete, but no possibility of refining it. The Delta Wave must kill every living thing in its path, with no distinction between human and Dalek. All things will die by your hand."
"Queenie, the range of this transmitter covers the entire Earth," Jack warned.
"You would destroy Daleks and Humans together," the Emperor sneered. "If I am God, the creator of all things, then what does that make you, Hunter?"
She took a deep breath, steeling herself. "There are colonies out there. The Human Race would survive in some shape or form, but you're the only Daleks in existence. The whole universe is in danger if I let you live. Do you see, Jack? That's the decision I've got to make for every living thing. Die as a human, or live as a Dalek." She met his eyes. "What would you do?"
Jack hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "You sent her home. She's safe. Keep working."
"But she will exterminate you!" the Emperor exclaimed.
Jack smirked. "Never doubted her. Never will." He ended the transmission.
"Now you tell me, God of all Daleks, because there's one thing I never worked out," the Hunter admitted. "The words Bad Wolf, spread across time and space, everywhere, drawing me in. How'd you manage that?"
"I did nothing," the Emperor told her.
"Oh, come on, there's no secrets now, your worship," she goaded.
"They are not part of my design. This is the Truth of God," it stated.
The Hunter swallowed, moving her gaze to the Bad Wolf Corporation sign on the wall. What are you, Bad Wolf?
***
Jason and Mike were eating their meals out of the polystyrene containers they had been sold them in at a café, keeping Hazel company.
"And it's gone up market, this place," Jason was saying. "They're doing little tubs of coleslaw now." He made a face. "It's not very nice. It tastes a bit sort of clinical."
"Have you tried that new pizza place down Minto Road?" Mike suggested.
"What's it selling?" Jason asked, eyeing Hazel worriedly.
"Pizza," Mike deadpanned.
"That's nice," Jason nodded. "Do they deliver?"
"Yeah."
Jason sighed. "Oh, Haze, have something to eat, please."
She scowled, making no efforts to conceal the tear tracks on her face. "Two hundred thousand years in the future, she's dying, and there's nothing I can do."
"Well, like you said, two hundred thousand years," Jason shrugged. "It's a way off."
"But it's not," Hazel protested. "It's now. That fight is happening right now, and she's fighting for us, for the whole planet, and I'm just sitting here eating chips!"
Jason shook his head. "Listen to me. God knows I have hated that woman, but right now, I love her, and do you know why? Because she did the right thing. She sent you back to me."
"But what do I do every day, Jace? What do I do?" Hazel asked. "Get up, catch the bus, go to work, come back home, eat chips, and go to bed? Is that it?"
"It's what the rest of us do," Mike pointed out.
"But I can't!" she protested.
"Why, because you're better than us?" he raised his eyebrows.
"No, I didn't mean that," she said quickly. "But it was... It was a better life. And I don't mean all the travelling and seeing aliens and spaceships and things. That don't matter. Artie showed me a better way of living your life." She nudged Mike. "You know, she showed you too. That you don't just give up. You don't just let things happen. You make a stand. You say no. You have the guts to do what's right when everyone else just runs away, and I just can't -" She suddenly jumped to her feet and ran out of the café, tears brimming over.
***
"Right, Lynda, you are my eyes and ears," Jack stated, flashing a smile even though he knew she couldn't see him. "When the Daleks get in, you can follow it on that screen and report it to me."
"Understood," Lynda nodded.
"They'll detect you, but the door's made of Hydra Combination. It should keep them out," Jack told her.
"Should?" she echoed.
"It's the best I can do," he winced. "How long till the Fleet arrives?"
"They've accelerated," Pavale replied.
Jack bit his lip. "This is it, ladies and gentlemen. We are at war!"
***
"You can't spend the rest of your life thinking about the Hunter," Mike tried, sitting next to Hazel near the Powell Estate.
"But how do I forget her?" Hazel asked, sniffing.
"You've got to start living your own life," he advised. "You know, a proper life, like the kind she's never had. The sort of life that you could have with me."
Hazel looked away, shaking her head, then her eyes widened as she saw 'BAD WOLF' graffitied across the tarmac of the play area. "Over here," she whispered. "It's over here as well!"
"That's been there for years," Mike told her dismissively. "It's just a phrase. It's just words."
"I thought it was a warning," Hazel continued, ignoring him as she wiped her cheeks impatiently, a smile beginning to blossom on her face. "Maybe it's the opposite. Maybe it's a message. The same words written down now and two hundred thousand years in the future. It's a link between me and Artie. Bad Wolf here, Bad Wolf there."
Mike shook his head. "But if it's a message, what's it saying?"
"It's telling me I can get back," Hazel realised, starting to grin. "The least I can do is help her escape." She ran back into the TARDIS, Mike at her heels. "All the TARDIS needs to do is make a return trip. Just reverse."
"Yeah, but we still can't do it," Mike pointed out.
"Artie always said the TARDIS was telepathic. This ship is alive. She can listen," Hazel explained.
"Yeah, well, she's not listening now, is she?" Mike shrugged.
"We need to get inside," Hazel decided. "Last time I saw you, with the Slitheen, this middle bit opened and there was this light, and Artie said it was the heart of the TARDIS. If we can open it, I can make contact. I can tell her what to do."
"Hazel," Mike said quietly.
"Hmm?" She turned to look at him, raising her eyebrows expectantly.
"If you go back, you're going to die," he said.
She bit her lip. "That's a risk I've got to take, because there's nothing left for me here."
"Nothing?" Mike checked.
"Not without her," Hazel shook her head.
Mike was silent for a minute, then nodded. "Okay, if that's what you think, let's get this thing open."
***
"Okay, activate internal lasers," Jack ordered. "Slice them up."
"Defences have gone offline," Lynda reported. "The Dalek's have overridden the lot." She winced as she heard the firing of guns, then a woman screaming out in pain as she died.
***
Mike had fastened a heavy chain to the tow hitch on his Mini, with the other end attached to the TARDIS console. He drove forwards slowly, trying to pull it open.
"Faster!" Hazel encouraged.
"Come on!" Mike growled.
"It's not moving!" Hazel called. Suddenly, the chain snapped, and she kicked the console on frustration.
***
"Advance guard have made it to Four Ninety Five," Lynda reported.
"Jack, how're we doing?" the Hunter asked.
"Four Ninety Five should be good," Jack shrugged. "I like Four Ninety Five."
The Anne Droid destroyed a few Daleks, but then its head was shot off and it deactivated.
"They're flying up the ventilation shafts," Lynda stated, then gasped. "No, wait a minute. Oh my God. Why're they doing that? They're going down." She heard screams through the comms, and turned off the sound from the bottom floor. "Floor Zero," she whispered. "They killed them all."
***
"It was never going to work, sweetheart," Jason soothed, his arm around Hazel as she wept in the jump seat. "And the Hunter knew that. She just wanted you to be safe."
"I can't give up," Hazel wept.
"Lock to door," Jason urged. "Walk away."
"I can't!" Hazel insisted. "I... I think I love her."
Jason froze. "What do you mean?"
"She took me to see Mum and Dad, back before it all went to shit," Hazel told him. "And I - I couldn't deal with it and I just broke down, and - and she could have just left me alone, but she came and comforted me and held me till I fell asleep and I just realised - she's been doing it all along, looking after me, and I never recognised it or anything, but I just love her!" She sniffed, wiping her cheeks. "I can't just leave her there to die!"
"She was saving your life!"
"Why won't you let me save hers?!" Hazel shot back.
Jason looked at her, his eyes wide. "Because she and I have an agreement that you come first." He stormed out, leaving her staring after him.
***
"Lynda!" the Hunter called. "What's happening on Earth?"
"The Fleet's descending," Lynda replied. "They're bombing whole continents. Europa, Pacifica, the New American Alliance. Australasia's just gone."
***
Mike sighed, biting his lip as Hazel came out of the TARDIS, her face tearstained. "There's got to be something else we can do."
"Maybe Jace was right," Hazel sighed, wiping a hand over her face. "Maybe we should just lock the door and walk away."
"I'm not having that," Mike decided, shaking his head. "I'm not having you just, just give up now. No way. We just need something stronger than my car. Something bigger." He turned, and his eyes widened. "Something like that!" Hazel turned to follow his gaze, and they were both confronted with a big yellow recovery truck coming round the corner.
Jason got out, handing the keys over. "Right, you've only got this until six o'clock, so get on with it."
Hazel's eyes were the size of dinner plates. "Jace, where the hell did you get that from?"
"Rodrigo," her brother replied. "He owes me a favour. Never mind why, but you were right, sweetheart. You come first, always, and I'm not letting you suffer while she gets herself killed. Now, get on with it before I change my mind." Mickey climbed up into the cabin.
***
"I've got a problem," Lynda called, sounding scared. "They've found me."
"You'll be all right, Lynda," the Hunter assured her, biting her lip. "That side of the station's reinforced against meteors."
"Hope so!" Lynda chuckled. "You know what they say about Earth workmanship." Then there was the sound of glass shattering, and she screamed just once before the line went dead. The Hunter bowed her head.
"Last man standing!" Jack shouted, from just around the corner, making the Time Lady look up sharply. "For God's sake, Queenie, finish that thing and kill them!"
"Finish that thing and kill mankind," the Emperor countered.
***
"Keep going!" Hazel shouted from inside the TARDIS as she watched the chain strain against the console.
"Put your foot down!" Jason relayed from outdoors.
"Faster!"
"Give it some more, Mikey!"
"Keep going!"
"Come on, come on!"
"Keep going!"
"Give it some more!"
The console burst open, and Hazel looked into it, golden energy streaming into her eyes.
"Haze!" Mickey shouted, but she clicked her fingers, and the TARDIS doors slammed shut in his face. She smiled as the TARDIS began to dematerialise, piloting her thousands of years into the future to save the Hunter.
***
"Queenie, you've got twenty seconds maximum!" Jack shouted. He ran out of bullets in his machine gun, and threw it aside, switching to a pistol, which was also empty.
"Exterminate!" the Dalek pursuing him stated.
He rolled his eyes. "I kind of figured that." The blast threw him back into the lift, and Captain Jack Harkness died in the knowledge that they'd at least saved Hazel.
"It's ready!" the Hunter called, before the Daleks entered from all sides. Her blood ran cold as she got no answer, realising what must have happened. "You really want to think about this, because if I activate the signal, every living creature dies."
"I am immortal," the Emperor stated.
"Do you want to put that to the test?" the Hunter snarled, narrowing her eyes.
"I want to see you become like me," the Emperor countered. "Hail the Hunter, the Great Exterminator."
"I'll do it!" she threatened.
"Then prove yourself, Hunter," the Emperor challanged. "What are you, coward or killer?"
The Hunter tensed, her mind full of the names of everyone she knew who'd died today, Jack's name right at the top of that list, urging her to do it, to kill the Daleks once and for all. But then another name came into her mind - a pure name, full of memories of happiness and laughter, and love. Hazel. The Hunter remembered the shock in her eyes when she'd threatened to kill just one Dalek, and suddenly she found herself unable to throw the final lever, despite what the Daleks had done to everything she loved. "Coward," she whispered. "Any day."
The Emperor seemed pleased. "Mankind will be harvested because of your weakness."
"And what about me?" the Hunter asked dully. "Am I becoming one of your angels?"
"You are the heathen," the Emperor informed her. "You will be exterminated."
"Maybe it's time," the Hunter sighed, kneeling and closing her eyes. She could've sworn she could hear the TARDIS' engines, but it was probably just her memories.
"Alert!" a Dalek cried, and her eyes shot open. "TARDIS materialising."
The Hunter got to her feet as the ship landed, turning to see the doors open and reveal a bright golden light. A humanoid shape was silhouetted in the doorway, and as the light dimmed, the Hunter realised who it was. "What've you done?" she cried.
"I looked into the TARDIS, and the TARDIS looked into me," Hazel replied, her voice echoing unnaturally.
The Hunter's eyes widened. "You looked into the Time Vortex. Haze, no one's meant to see that!"
"This is the Abomination!" the Emperor declared.
"Exterminate!"
Hazel lifted a hand casually, and the beam shattered upon impact. "I am Bad Wolf. I create myself. I take the words; I scatter them in time and space. A message to lead myself here."
"Hazel, you've got to stop this," the Hunter pleaded. "You've got to stop this now. You've got the entire vortex running through your head. You're going to burn!"
Hazel looked at her, her eyes shining with loving tears. "I want you safe. My Artemis. Protected from the false god." Her voice caught.
"You cannot hurt me," the Emperor scoffed. "I am immortal."
"You are tiny," Hazel corrected. "I can see the whole of time and space. Every single atom of your existence, and I divide them." She lowered her hand, and a nearby Dalek disintegrated slowly. "Everything must come to dust. All things. Everything dies. The Time War ends."
The Daleks crumbled to the ground.
"I will not die!" the Emperor cried, even as he, too, disintegrated. "I cannot die!"
The Hunter watched with wide eyes as the entire spaceship turned to dust. "Haze, you've done it. Now stop. Just let go."
"How can I let go of this?" Hazel laughed - a soft, tinkling melody that sounded nothing like her usual giggle. "I bring life."
There was a loud gasp from the corridor as Jack came back to life. The Hunter glanced over, a look of consternation on her face. "But this is wrong! You can't control life and death!"
"But I can," Hazel assured her. "The sun and the moon, and the day and night." She sighed blissfully, before wincing, her face contorting in pain. "But why do they hurt?"
"The power's going to kill you and it's all my fault," the Hunter realised, covering her mouth in horror.
"I can see everything," Hazel breathed. "All that is, all that was, all that ever could be."
"That's what I see," the Hunter told her softly. "All the time. And doesn't it drive you mad?"
"My head," Hazel groaned, swaying slightly.
"Come here," the Hunter whispered, holding her arms out towards her.
"It's killing me," Hazel whimpered in realisation, stumbling towards the Time Lady.
The Hunter smiled down at her as she supported Hazel in her arms. A tear rolled down her cheek, splashing down to join the many already adorning Hazel's cheeks. The Hunter sniffed, smiling, and wiped them away with her thumb. "Oh, Hazie..." She sighed happily. "I think I need you." She leaned down and kissed her, their eyes both closing as she started to pull the vortex from Hazel's mind. When the golden energy had transferred across completely, Hazel gasped slightly, her eyes opening. The Hunter pulled away, smiling gently at her through her tears. Hazel managed a small smile back before she fainted in her arms.
The Hunter carried her into the TARDIS, setting her down on the jump seat carefully before exhaling the energy back into the ship. The doors closed, and the TARDIS dematerialised, leaving one revived man stranded on a satellite full of corpses.

VLDS7E7: The Last Stand, Part 1
Season 7 Episode 7: The Last Stand, Part 1
Transcript by @dragonofyang
Episode Summary: The Paladins make their way back to Earth, but upon reaching out to Sam Holt, discover Earth’s distress beacon and that the Galra have invaded. We catch up with Sam and the technological developments on Earth since his return four years prior to the Paladins’ approach, and the trials Sam and Colleen face when in the heart of the Garrison.
[Google Doc]
Hunk: I can’t believe it. We’re finally back to Earth.
Keith: Well, what are we waiting for?
Pidge: I’ll see if I can get a message out to my dad. Dad, it’s me, Pidge. Do you copy? We’re back in Earth’s solar system, and heading home now.
Sam’s voice: To any beings who receive this message--
Pidge: Dad, you’re okay. How’s Mom and Matt? Is he with you?
Sam’s voice: Planet Earth has been… Most of the citizens…
Pidge: Hold on, let me try to get a clear signal.
Sam’s voice: ...have been captured.
Pidge: What? Who’s captured? Dad, what are you saying?
Sam’s voice: Those of us remaining are making our last stand. If you get this message, please get word to Voltron. We need help.
Keith: Guys, are you seeing this?
Sam’s voice: To any beings who receive this message…
Allura: Oh, no.
Sam’s voice: ...Planet Earth has been overrun by the Galra.
Lance: The Galra have invaded Earth.
Sam’s voice: Most of the citizens have been captured. Those of us remaining are making our last stand. If you get this message, please get word to Voltron. We need help.
Hunk: It’s not a reply. It’s a distress signal.
Pidge: Dad.
[Scene change to a flashback, labeled “Four years earlier…”.]
Sam: Admiral Sanda, how long have I--?
Sanda: It’s been about a week since you landed. Sorry, we’ve had you under for most of the time.
Sam: A week?
Sanda: We had to run tests. You spent years in an alien environment. Look, Sam, the joint chiefs are eager to hear what you have to tell us.
Sam: Tell the chiefs I’ll debrief when I’m ready. There’s someone I need to see first.
[Scene change to a lounge in the Galaxy Garrison.]
Colleen: Sam.
Sam: Colleen, I’ve missed you so much.
Colleen: I thought you were dead. I thought I’d never see you again.
Sam: You’re squeezing me pretty tight. Being abducted by aliens didn’t kill me, but I think you might.
Colleen: Aliens?
Sam: On the Kerberos mission. Matt, Shiro, and I were taken by hostile aliens.
Colleen: So Matt is with you?
Sam: No, but he’s alive and safe. So is Katie. They’re together. Last time I saw them, they were just outside the planet Olkarion. They saved me. There was a device on my pod, a transmitter. Where is it? I can use it to contact my children and the other Paladins, cadets.
Sanda: I’m afraid we can’t allow you to broadcast yet. We need more information before you start sending messages into deep space. Any contact with alien species needs to be run through the appropriate channels. We need to be sure you’re not putting Earth in danger, Sam.
Colleen: I don’t care about your channels. I want to talk to my children.
Sanda: And you will, soon. We just want to debrief you first.
Colleen: Tell them what you know, then we can talk to our children and get you home.
Sanda: I’m afraid we can’t allow Sam to leave the premises. We’re not prepared to tell the world about the existence of alien life just yet. Remember, everyone thinks you’re dead.
Sam: So you’re holding me like a prisoner?
Sanda: Not a prisoner. You’re free to move about within the Garrison grounds. Just until we’re ready.
Colleen: If he’s staying, I’m staying, too.
Sanda: I’m afraid you don’t have the clearance, Colleen.
Colleen: This is the only family I have left. You’ll get me the clearance.
[Scene change to a meeting room in the Galaxy Garrison.]
Iverson: Here’s what we know. Two years ago, during your Kerberos mission, our scans picked up an anomaly at your location. Minutes later, we lost contact with you and the rest of the crew. In the immediate aftermath, we intercepted a transmission.
Unnamed Galra Commander’s voice: We found these primitive scientists. I don’t think they know anything useful.
Zarkon’s voice: Take them back to the main fleet for interrogation. The Druids will find out what they know.
Sam: That last voice is Zarkon, the emperor of an advanced hostile alien race known as the Galra.
Unnamed officer: How advanced?
Unnamed officer 2: And how do you know they’re hostile?
Sam: Do you have the device I asked for? The one from my pod?
Sanda: Bring it to him.
Sam: Before I left, I downloaded as much information as I could from the Castle of Lions. For ten thousand years, Zarkon has been expanding his empire, conquering vast swaths of the universe and harnessing its quintessence in order to survive and maintain power.
Sanda: Quintessence?
Sam: It’s an energy generated by living beings.
Bearded officer: You mean certain alien beings?
Sam: No. Quintessence is within us all.
Bearded officer: Impossible. We’ve never come across anything like that.
Sam: Maybe because this is beyond the realm of what you think you know. Have you ever traveled faster than the speed of light? Have you ever seen a living creature bio-hack nature? Have you ever come face to face with an alien warlord who’s older than the entirety of human civilization? Well, I have. And I assure you, it’s all real. Following our abduction, Shiro, Matt, and I were taken by Galra scouts to the main fleet where we were interrogated. After that, we were split up. I spent the next year at a remote outpost, working alongside other captive scientists researching and creating new technologies to be used by the Galra. I later learned that Shiro and Matt had been sent to fight in the gladiator pits. Matt would’ve been killed, but Shiro, he saved my son’s life. Later, Matt was rescued from a work camp by alien rebels. He now works alongside them, fighting back against the Galra. During his time on Zarkon’s command ship, Shiro discovered that Zarkon was looking for a super weapon hidden on Earth. Shiro escaped to get the weapon first.
Iverson: That must be when Lieutenant Shirogane returned to Earth.
Sam: That’s right.
Iverson: Following Garrison protocol, we placed Lieutenant Takeshi Shirogane under mandatory quarantine, but he managed to escape with the aid of several Garrison cadets. We later found out the one known as Pidge Gunderson was your daughter, Katie Holt, who had illegally enrolled in the cadet program under an assumed identity. The following day, the Blue Lion appeared on our radars. Long-range sensors tracked the UFO to the edge of our solar system traveling at speeds we’ve never achieved. It disappeared along with the ship. That was the last activity we had until your pod arrived on Earth a month ago.
Glasses officer: So that Blue Lion, that was the super weapon?
Sam: Part of it. The super weapon is known as Voltron. It’s made up of five mechanical lions. As fate would have it, when Shiro crashed on Earth, those same Garrison students that got him out of quarantine became the pilots, or Paladins, of the five lions of Voltron. The Paladins are doing everything they can to protect the universe from the Galra. But we must begin to bolster Earth’s defenses now, or we do not stand a chance. War is coming.
Iverson: So this Zarkon, you think he’ll attack Earth?
Sam: No. Zarkon is dead, but the Galra Empire is not stopping. There are factions fighting for control and looking to dominate their own sections of the universe. Without a clear leader, things are worse than before.
Iverson: So what do we do?
Sam: We hold a conference and announce what we know to the world.
Sanda: Absolutely not.
Sam: They need to know. And if we can bring the world’s top minds together, it might mean the difference--
Sanda: If we told the world there was an imminent attack, we’d set off a global panic.
Sam: But there will be an attack.
Sanda: When? How will the attack happen? Is there a plan to stop it? None of these things have been discussed. None of these things have been thought through, and until they are, we’re not going to be responsible for sending the world into disarray.
Sam: If you would allow me to contact Katie and the Paladins right now, we could begin to answer those questions.
Sanda: Very well.
Sam: This is Sam Holt calling the Paladins of Voltron. I’m on Earth. Please respond. Pidge, this is Dad. Come in.
Colleen: Katie, it’s your mom. Are you there?
Sam: The transmission’s not being received. There might be interference. We need to keep trying.
Sanda: We can have someone send out regular transmissions around the clock until we hear from them. But in the meantime, we stay quiet.
Sam: Very well, but we should at least begin preparations.
Iverson: We already have.
[Cut to an elevator in the Galaxy Garrison.]
Iverson: We’ve been studying the ship that Shiro crash landed in for the last year, and we’ve begun research on the ship you arrived in. We thought the technology would be exactly the same, but that’s not the case.
Sam: That’s because one is Galran and the other Altean, created by two different alien species. So, did you get it airborne?
Iverson: Unfortunately, no. We got the nav system and other instruments turned on by powering them externally, but the power it would take to fly them is unsustainable.
Sam: Hmm. The crystal must have been damaged on entry if you couldn’t power it.
Sanda: Crystal?
Sam: It’s the main energy source for most alien spacecraft. If you haven’t been able to get it running, then what have you been doing with it?
Sanda: We created a simulator based on the controls so that when we figure out how to integrate the tech into our own ships, we’ll be ready to fly.
Iverson: Commander Holt, I’d like to introduce you to the best pilots to come out of the Galaxy Garrison in the last year. These are officers Griffin, Rizavi, Kinkade, and Leifsdottir. They’re young, but their ability to adapt to new flying techniques is a step above.
Griffin: On behalf of my squadron, it’s an honor to meet you, sir.
Iverson: I’ve got them running drills in the simulator five days a week. They can take just about anything you can throw at them.
Sam: Good. Now it’s time to get them out of the simulator and flying these things for real.
Rizavi: But they aren’t working, sir.
Sam: Then we better get them working.
[Scene change to outside the Galaxy Garrison.]
Griffin: No way.
Rizavi: When can we fly them, sir?
Sam: You’re gonna be flying ships much faster and much more maneuverable than this in no time.
Rizavi: Sir?
Sam: This is just an Altean shuttle pod. The engine and functions are extremely basic. If we’re going to defend the planet against the Galra, we’re going to need better ships.
[Scene change to the Galaxy Garrison meeting room.]
Sam: When I was enslaved by the Galra, I was forced to work on technologies that are a hundred times more complex than a simple pod. And after I regrouped with the Paladins, I continued learning alongside the Olkari, some of the most amazing engineers I’ve ever had the honor to work with. They taught me everything I know about integrating technologies. These are Altean schematics. We’re gonna use these to upgrade our weapons, build new ships, and create a defense for Earth. Engineers will be in charge of salvaging what they can from the pods. Repurposing parts is of the utmost importance. Our pilots must get out of the simulators and into real ships powered by crystal technology if they hope to stand a chance against Galran battle tactics. It’s gonna be a steep learning curve, but I know they’ll get it. The Garrison will become the epicenter of technological advances beyond what this world has ever seen. In the meantime, we will continue our attempts to contact Matt and the Paladins. It’s imperative that we find out what’s happening beyond our galaxy. There is a war coming, and we need to be prepared.
[Scene change to another flashback, labeled “One year later…”.]
Griffin: Sorry, guess I’m too quick.
Rizavi: Not for my micro-pulse boosters!
Sam: How’s the response time compared to the previous generation?
Rizavi: Instantaneous, sir. It’s like it knows what I wanna do before I think it.
Iverson: It’s amazing what you’ve done in just over a year.
Sam: We’ve done it together.
Unnamed female officer: Sir, you’re needed in the communications room immediately.
[Scene change to the Garrison’s communications room.]
Colleen: It’s Matt. He contacted us.
Matt: Mom, is that Dad?
Colleen: He just got here.
Sam: Matt, are you okay? I’ve been trying to contact you and Katie for months. Where are you? What’s going on?
Matt: So, you didn’t hear yet?
Sam: Hear what?
Matt: Mom, Dad, no one has seen or heard from the Paladins in the last six months.
Colleen: No…
Sam: Katie… What happened?
Matt: No one is really sure. There are rumors that Voltron fought Lotor, then they just disappeared.
Sam: So, they could still be alive.
Matt: No one knows. But, Dad, listen to me. You need to stop broadcasting from Earth. Members of the Blade of Marmora and the Voltron Coalition are being hunted. Our army has been all but wiped out. The situation is bad out here, and the last thing we need is to put Earth in danger.
Sam: But how will I get ahold of you?
Matt: I have to go. I’ll contact you when I’m safe. I love you both.
[Scene change to Admiral Sanda’s office.]
Sam: It’s time. We need to tell the rest of the world the situation.
Sanda: Sam, I’m sorry to hear about your daughter, but we can’t get off course.
Sam: If we want to finish the IGF-ATLAS, we need more resources and more manpower. The world needs to come together so that we can take the fight to the Galra.
Sanda: You’re too emotional right now and you’re not thinking straight. We’re not building ships to go fight aliens in different galaxies.
Sam: But they need us!
Sanda: The citizens of Earth need us.
Sam: And yet you refuse to tell them the truth!
Iverson: Maybe we should talk about this later.
Sanda: We can talk later, but my decision will be the same. We’re not telling the people of Earth, and we’re not fighting in someone else’s war.
[Scene change to the Holt’s private quarters.]
Colleen: They’re gonna be okay.
Sam: They will be okay because they’re strong just like their mother.
Colleen: We’ve gotta do something. We can’t just sit here while our children are in danger.
Sam: We’re doing everything we can with the limited personnel we have.
Colleen: Then we’ll get more personnel and more resources. The admiral is making decisions for the rest of the world. I say let them make decisions for themselves.
Sam: You wanna tell the world? The repercussions could be serious. They could kick us out of the Garrison.
Colleen: It’s risky, but that ship may never get done otherwise. And I’ll do whatever it takes to see my kids again.
Sam: Okay.
[Cut to Sam and Colleen walking into the communications hub.]
Sam: You’re sure you wanna do this?
Colleen: I’m sure.
Sam: Alright, I’ll be broadcasting on every channel. You ready?
Colleen: Citizens of Earth, my name is Colleen Holt. I am the wife of famed astronaut, Sam Holt, and mother of Matt Holt. Two years ago, it was believed that they died during a deep space mission. That was a lie. My husband, along with his crew, were abducted by an alien race known as the Galra, a fact that was covered up by the Galaxy Garrison.
[Cut to Admiral Sanda’s office.]
Unnamed soldier: Admiral, you need to see this. They’re broadcasting on every channel.
Colleen: A year ago, my husband returned to Earth, but the Garrison forced him to stay in hiding.
Sanda’s voice: I’m afraid we can’t allow Sam to leave the premises. We’re not prepared to tell the world about the existence of alien life just yet.
Sam: But I refuse to stay hidden any longer. We desperately need your help. Not every alien species is friendly, and Planet Earth must be protected. Here at the Garrison, we’ve been working on creating advanced ships and weaponry.
Sanda: Get the rest of the guards.
Colleen: The footage you are about to see is real.
Sam: These are the Galra. If they find Earth, they will attack, and we must be prepared.
Griffin: Huh. Guess the cat’s out of the bag, huh?
Colleen: But there are those that have spent years protecting us. They are the Paladins of Voltron, and they come from Earth.
Hunk: Ugh, I can’t wait to be back home. I’m not really sure when that’ll be, but when I get there, I really want Uncle Filo to make some of his amazing pork lau lau. I can almost taste it now.
Lance: Hi, Mom, hi, Dad. It’s me, Lance. I’m here in outer space somewhere. I, um, uh, don’t really know what to say. Uh, I miss you guys. I miss you guys a lot.
Pidge: Mom, I’m so sorry I left without saying goodbye. I think of you every day.
Colleen: Now is the time to come together. To protect our world, we must be united under one cause.
Sanda: Override the lock. Lock them up.
Iverson: For what?
Sanda: For divulging top secret information.
Sam: Now, now, Admiral. Don’t get emotional.
Sanda: You disregarded a direct order.
Sam: You held me at the Garrison against my will. You lied about my death. You wanna control every situation, but face it. You can’t. The world needed to know this, and now that they do, it will be better for us. Right now, the world needs a leader that’s not afraid to face facts and you’re not it.
Sanda: And you think you are?
Sam: Yes.
Sanda: Get these traitors out of here.
Iverson: Stop. If Sam goes, I go too.
Glasses officer: Admiral Sanda, calls are coming in from all over the world. Citizens want to know how they can help. It’s incredible.
Sam: It worked.
[Scene change to the desert outside of the Galaxy Garrison.]
Sam: That’s the last one.
Griffin: Think it’ll work?
Sam: Well, particle barriers are tricky, but if my calculations are right, these just might act as a perimeter. What’s that?
Griffin: I don’t know. I didn’t think we were doing any test flights today.
Sam: They’re here. Activate the particle barrier immediately.
Woman: Are you sure, sir? We haven’t run diagnostics--
Sam: Do it, now!
End.

Hosnian System
Recon Flight
1min out from Distress Signal
0735 hrs
Four X-wings zipped and zoom narrowly missing Asteroids. No one said anything partly because they were too stund to react but mostly they were too busy concentrating on not crashing. But once they cleared most of the thicker section Joker broke the silence.
“Admiral, this is Recon Leader, this asteroid field is too dense. I have no clear coordinates for your Micro-jump but I’m still working on it.” Joker said into his comm unit
“Understood Recon Leader, Haako, alert the bridge to set a course to that distress signal, and reach it as soon as we can!” Joker heard Thadmin say over the comm
“Recon Flight lock S-foils in attack position we don’t know what we're going to be up against, Brawl and I are going to make a close pass by the station to see if we can raise them on close comms. 11, Book secure a perimeter around the station.” Joker ordered
“Roger that Joker” 11 said
“Recon Flight Leader, this is the Admiral. It will take us 30 minutes to reach the station,” Thadmin said.
Raysho Station was a large station several Kilometers, wide and several Kilometers wide. Protruding out from the station like branches on a tree was docking bays for larger ships several Nebulon-B and C Frigates were docking receiving minor repairs, the wreckage of smaller Corellian Cruisers that were being resupplied floated nearby. Currently under construction was a Star Hawk Class Heavy Cruiser, which took heavy damage during the, whatever disaster wiped out the Hosnian System.Currently it appeared dead in Space, no lights and no presevable power usage emanate from the Station. Making a close pass of the station Joker spoke into his comm.
“Raysho Space Station 04-86, This is Recon Flight Leader Callsign Joker, please respond.” Joker said broadcasting on all New Republic Frequency. After a few moments of a static comm Joker said
“Raysho Station Please Respond”
“Joker! Deck 4 fourth window in, the lights are flashing” Brawl said.
“Raysho Station this is Joker if you can hear me flick the lights on and off three times” Joker said hoping they could hear and their transmitter was shot. He smiled as the lights blinked on, then off, then on then off and finally on and off. The smile wore off as they began to blink randomly. First four times then a break, then eight times, then a break, then six times then another break, and finally the window flashed on and off.
“Raysho Station, this is Joker, what? I don’t understand” Joker said confused
No further information was revealed as the lights went on and off four times then eight times, then six times, then once.
“Joker, 4861 I think it could be a communications frequency.” Brawl said
“Raysho Station, is 4861 a communication frequency, once for no twice for yes' ' Joker asked, he whooped in triumph as the lights went on and off twice. Tuning into that frequency he said into his comm, “Great thinking Brawl.”
“Raysho Space Station 04-86, This is Recon Flight Leader Callsign Joker I am from NRS Ranger, please respond.” Joker repeated
“Joker?” came a garbled voice. “All our systems have been overloaded, we are in the process of repairing them.”
“Raysho Station, what happened here?” Joker asked
“We don’t fully know we are still piecing it together from our sensor long, but some sort of super laser destroyed the entire Hosnian System almost simultaneously.” The voice said
Their conversation was interrupted as Book said into the comm “Joker we got incoming, six fighters and four landing craft.”
“Raysho Station be advised we have incoming fighters and landing craft, are any of your defensive opprable?” Joker said into the comm
“Negative Joker, shields are off line, all turrets are damaged, and all ships in the yard are either destroyed, disabled or unfinished.” The man in the comm said.
“Roger Raysho Station the odds are not favorable but we will make short work of them.” Joker said, mustering his courage and optimism. Joker then spoke into his comm “Firebird, did you hear all that?”
“Roger Joker, A-Wings have been scrambled E.T.A five minutes our Maires have also been scrambled to aid in the defence of the station, L.t Risa is trying to find clear coordinates for a micro jump but as of yet, no luck.” Alek briefed.
“So it looks like we have to take out these one on our own” Joker said
“Yes Joker” Alek said
“Outnumbered 6-to-2 we got this well in hand” Joker boasted
“Joker your only outumber 6-to-4” Alek said
“Mmmm no 6-to-2 and 2 rookies” Joker teased
“Just remember to save them some kills” Alek said “they need the practice”
Just then Book came over the comm “Attention Unknown aircraft stand down or be fired upon, repeat stand down”
“Book, 11 if he’s in range, open fire!” Alek said
“Sorry Sir, New Republic Standard Operation Procedure 21-57 Do not fire until fired upon” Book said
“Remember that little chat we had yesterday evening, take it to heart Book” Alek said
“Unknown AirCraft We will not fire until apon, turn from your course” Book ordered through his comm
“Joker Brawl, go rescue their butts” Alek said
“We’re going full throttle but we won't reach them in time, Firebird” Brawl said.
“Book for once in your life break protocol and open fire!” Alek said
It was too late, the two lead TIE Fighters opened fire, concentrating fire on 11’s X-Wing, it exploded into dust, the fireball extended, eating up all the oxygen in the cockpit before disappearing entirely. The last thing resounding in Dormans ear was Yarn shouting his name as if to ask for help.
“Dang Ferrik Book you should have fired when you could,” Alek said, his voice dripping with disappointment.
Book instead of taking the fighter head on, he peeled left firing as he went with a couple of bolts striking the TIE Fighters but they were absorbed by their shields.
“They got shields!” Book shouted
“Noted” Joker said as he and Brawl were in range and began to open fire, combining they were able to knock out one. Two TIE Fighters peeled off and followed Book as the other three confronted Joker and Brawl.
“Brawl cover Book I got these three!” Joker said
“On it” Brawk seethed having to go rescue someone who got his wingman killed
Brawl peeled off to go save Book who at this point was jinking and juking hanging on my the seat of his fightsuit. Brawl screamed into the kill zone of the TIE FIghters
“They don't know I’m behind them yet so we only got one chance Book on my mark peel right” Brawl said lining up his shot
“...O.K, I’m ready” Book said shakely
“Now!” Brawl said
Book slammed to the right as Brawl opened fire on the leftmost TIE fighter blasting him into oblivion, there was no fireball in this explosion it was merely a shockwave of dust. The other TIE Fighter turned left trying to get behind Brawl.
“Book he's trying to get behind me intercept him and don’t hesitate” Brawl said
Book continued his turn until he made a 270 degree turn just as the Tie Fighter was finishing his 270 degree turn. Book open fired with all four laser cannons, making its destiny WAP WAP WAP WAP sound. The TIE Pilot open fired a moment after. All bolts hit their marks, the X-wings bolts scored hits to the left wing cockpit connector separating it entirely causing it to spiral out of control then exploding in the fireless explosion. The TIE fighters bolts hit the first three knocked out Books Shields, the last one hit the X-Wing’s nose throwing Book around but ultimately he regained control.
“I’m Going to help Joker, Book knock out those transports' ' Brawl said, turning his X-Wing to where Joker was circling a large chunk of planetary remains being persuaded by the Three TIE Fighter Joker was leaving the three fighters in the dust.
“These things aren't too fast” Joker remarked as he kept circling the chunk of rock.
When the TIE’s were behind the Asteroid Brawl flew right up to the asteroid and counter to Joker’s path. Three seconds later Joker zoomed by him then the three TIEs were in sight and Brawl let loose with all blaster cannons. He disenterraged the center TIE, the one on the left tried to roll out of the way but crashed into the asteroid, the right TIE seeing he was now outnumbered broke his circular course and headed toward the station.
“I got him,” Joker said confidently, breaking his path and chasing down the lone TIE then with three shots the TIE exploded.
“How are you coming with those transports, Book” Joker asked, throwing the throttle all the way forward.
“I destroyed one, but I can’t get the other three, they're too far away!” Book frustrated into the comm.
Joker saw the three transports 50 meters from the docking bay of the station, he held down the trigger firing aimlessly and out of range. The blaster bolts that came close to the transports were absorbed by the shields.
“Raysho Station! We couldn't get to those transports prepared to be boarded” Joker said on the specific frequency.
“Roger Joker, about how many borders should we be expecting?”
“Three Drop ships I’m estimating 50-60 men.” Joker said
“Roger Joker, our marine team is only made up of 20 lightly armed troopers” the voice said “can you provide any more assistance”
“Joker this is Noodles, The Blue Birds A-Wing Aces are here” Noodles said over the comm
“Raysho station is being boarded. Can you help with that?” Joker said over the comm
“Oh good thing we brought along several transports full of angry Wookies” Noodles said nonchalantly.
“Release the beast!!” Joker shouted over the comm
“Raysho station, stand by for assistance Ranger has lovingly given us 24 of the toughest meanest and most elite wookies Kashyyk can provide.” Joker said

Remote Starter Installation
Remote starters are downright cheap these days. You can get one with some pretty cool features for about $40 at amazon.com. If you can read a wiring diagram, are patient enough to use a test light before you connect wires and are willing to take the time to make really good splices, you can install a remote starter yourself and save about $125.
If your vehicle has an anti-theft system, make sure the remote start unit includes all the necessary components. Some inexpensive brands require additional (and costly) anti-theft bypass modules. The Bulldog RS82B unit shown here works with most anti-theft systems and comes with a computer-safe test light and wire splicing supplies.
Download the free wiring diagram for your specific vehicle from the manufacturer’s website (in this case, bulldogsecurity.com). Follow the instructions for the remote car starter installation. When finished, you can program the unit to work with your key fob remote.
If you want more high tech features, get Bulldog Security’s Deluxe model. You’ll get a two-way LCD transmitter/ receiver with a half-mile range. The starter sends a confirmation signal back to the receiver letting you know the engine has started. And the in-car temp sensor reads cabin temperature and transmits that to the screen as well. The deluxe unit also includes remote keyless entry, so you can ditch the factory remote.

Car Remote Starter Installation Service near Albuquerque NM:Car remote starters are one of the hottest automotive developments of the 21st century. Considering how affordable they are and how easily they can be installed aftermarket, it's no surprise that remote starters are becoming as ubiquitous as car alarm systems. Here are just ten of the many advantages car remote starters offer:
1. Starting your car on a cold morning without leaving the warmth of your house. No more shivering on a cold seat, waiting for the heater to kick in.
2. Melting the snow and ice off your car by remotely running your defroster. You'll never again have to scrape a peephole in your windshield!
3. Cranking the air conditioning so your car is nice and cool before you climb inside on those hot summer days. No more patting the steering wheel to see if it's still too hot to touch.
4. Keeping the kids happy. Children are more sensitive to extremes of heat and cold than adults, and when they're uncomfortable they have a way of letting you know. Remote starters nip that problem in the bud!
5. Locating your car in a large or crowded lot. You will never again have to wander the wastelands of the mall parking lot looking for your ride.
6. Adding or improving security for your vehicle. Car alarm systems are sadly necessary in this day and age, so picking out a remote starter system with integrated security will provide increased safety and peace of mind.
7. Impressing your friends, colleagues, and partner. Long after you start taking your remote starter for granted, the system will continue to make a big impression on anyone you give a lift to.
8. Synchronizing your car with your smartphone. By installing a remote starter with cell phone integration, you can unlock a huge array of additional features, controlling your car with your touchscreen.
9. Monitoring your car's movements. Remote Starters with GPS tracking let you pinpoint your car's locations at all times, which can be great if you ever let anyone borrow your car. This way you can make sure Junior is really just going to the movies.
10. Generally improving your quality of life. Seriously! How we start our mornings can have a huge impact on our day, and getting into a warm car on a cold morning or a cool car on a hot one will set a positive tone for every day of the week, every time of year.

 TIPS
Car Remote Start Installation Tips
Car Remote Starter Installation Service near Albuquerque NM:Furthermore, the following tips are for remote start system installation in automatic vehicles. Manual transmission vehicles will require further attention.
●      First Things First
Your first step is to make sure that the remote start is compatible with your vehicle and that it will not interfere with its anti-theft system. You can usually get this information by consulting the packaging it came in or calling the manufacturer that produced it.
Then:
You should make sure that all the electrical systems of your vehicle are working properly before you begin the installation. Make sure the lights and switches are working as they should.
If so, then you may proceed to step one, familiarizing yourself with the wiring:
●      Wiring
Take some time to carefully look at the wiring including the power wire, the ignition wire, the accessory wire, and the starter wire. You can find information on these wires and where to locate them in your vehicle’s electrical diagram or owner’s manual.
Installing a remote ignition will consist mostly of connecting these wires to the device. It is recommended that the connections be made with a soldering iron.
●      Grounding
You will need to ground your remote starter for proper function. You can do this by attaching the ground wire to a clean, metal surface with no paint on it. We recommend a surface in the firewall or kick panel.
●      Tachometer Wire Connection
The first place to look for your tachometer reference wire should be the distributor. If you do not see it there, take a look at the coil pack. You can also trace it by following your spark plug wires to the point where they meet with the distributor. Once you have located the tachometer reference wire, connect it with the corresponding wire of your remote start device.
●      Security Bypass
If your vehicle came with a factory security system, it will need to be disengaged for the installation. Most vehicles’ security system has a wire coming from the driver side door. This wire will need to be pulsed to bypass the security system.
●      Closing Up
Before closing up the panels you have removed for the installation, make sure all wiring is secured with screws or ties. Secure them in a way that they are not touching any moving parts.
We hope you have found these tips helpful but if at any time you are in doubt, consult a professional. Utilize these tips safely and enjoy your new remote start system. You will love the freedom it provides.

What Is This Feeling: Chapter 2
Fem!9th Doctor x Male!Rose Tyler
WITF Masterlist
Tumblr media
Back in the TARDIS, the Doctor was frowning at the screen. This was not good. The signal was getting stronger, meaning the plastics were as well. Good thing the Doctor made a portable device to track down the signal. The Gallifreyan stepped out of the blue box and was on her way.
She was lead towards a housing complex. The signal was very strong here. The Doctor was about to approach the plastic bin when a girl popped out of it. The girl walked over to the yellow buggie and got inside. She was definitely plastic. The Doctor was about to approach the plastic when Ross stepped out of the house. He started to walk towards the yellow buggie. The Doctor quickly hid out of sight. This boy is extremely danger prone. This handsome pink and yellow human seemed to need her help constantly.
"Handsome?" She quietly questioned herself. When did she start to think of him as attractive?
The buggie drove by her. A growl rumbled in her throat. Her distraction let the plastic get away, and with Ross! The plastic tracker was out in a matter of seconds. She quickly followed the signal again.
The Time Lord soon found the buggie once more. It was parked outside the little café she left the TARDIS behind earlier. She put the tracker away, and stepped inside. Casually looking around she finally spotted Ross sitting at a table with the plastic girl across from him. The Doctor quickly grabbed an unopened bottle of champagne off a table, unnoticed. She headed towards their table.
"Your champagne," she offered the bottle, waiting to be noticed.
"We didn't order any champagne. Where's the Doctor," the plastic demanded.
The Doctor frowned and turned towards Ross.
"Sir, your champagne," she offered again.
"It's not ours. Mickey, what is it? What's wrong," Ross asked this girl.
He cared for her, or at least this image of the girl and not the plastic. They must be in a relationship. The Doctor felt a little pang of jealousy.
'Stop.' She internally yelled at herself.
"Doesn't anybody want this champagne?"
"Look, we didn't order it," The plastic finally looked up to see the Doctor. "Ah, gotcha," the plastic smiled.
The Doctor started to shake the bottle vigorously. "Don't mind me. I'm just toasting the happy couple. On the house!" She yelled as the cork was released. It flew and stuck in the plastic's forehead.
Slowly the cork was absorbed into her forehead. She soon spit it out of her mouth. Ross looked horrified.
"Anyway," the plastic began to get up, and turned its hand into a chopper.
Ross let out a surprised yell, and fled as plastic Mickey busted the table. The Doctor grabbed the Auton's head, and pulled it off. The other customers saw this, and began to panic. All hell broke loose.
"Don't think that's going to stop me," the head spoke to the Doctor.
The plastic's body got up, and started to flail around. Ross, being the genius that he was, set off the fire alarm. This would allow the customers to escape.
"Everyone out! Out now! Get out! Get out! Get out!" Ross yelled.
The Doctor then led Ross through the kitchen. The head tried to bite the Doctor.
"Oi! Stop that!"
The body of the head wrecked the restaurant before following them to the back exit. The Doctor quickly sealed the exit shut while Ross ran down the alley, past the TARDIS. The Doctor found it ironic that she parked it there earlier in the day. Ross was panicked when he found a padlock on the exit gates.
"Open the gate! Use that tube thing. Come on!"
"Sonic screwdriver," she corrected him.
"Use it," he frantically yelled.
The Doctor casually walked over toward the TARDIS.
"Nah. Tell you what, let's go in here."
The Doctor unlocked the police box, and went inside. The Auton hammered on the metal door, making large dents.
"You can't hide inside a wooden box. It's going to get us! Doctor," Ross yelled.
He tried the gate again. The blonde finally gave up on the gate. He ran into the TARDIS. Ross paused, and stared wide eyed around the console room. He quickly ran out. The human was probably trying to figure out the 'bigger on the inside' concept. The boy finally ran back inside.
"It's going to follow us," he panicked.
The Doctor rushed around the console, pressing buttons and pulling knobs. "The assembled hoards of Genghis Khan couldn't get through that door, and believe me, they've tried. Now shut up a minute."
The Doctor set the head on the console panel, and started to attach wires to it. If she could set up a connection, then she could get to the main signal!
"You see, the arm was too simple, but the head is perfect! I can use it to trace the signal back to the original source." The Doctor turned to the confused human. "Right. Where do you want to start?"
"Um… The inside's bigger than the outside…?" Ross spoke hesitantly.
"Yes."
"'s alien."
"Yeah."
"Are you alien?"
"Yes… Is that alright?" The Doctor prepared herself for a scream and rejection from the boy.
"Yeah."
'Thank Rassilon! I'm no good with emotional situations.' She thought to herself.
"It's called the TARDIS, this thing. T. A. R. D. I. S. That's Time And Relative Dimension In Space."
Ross looked ready to burst into tears.
'Please don't cry! Please don't cry!'
"That's okay. Cultural Shock. Happens to the best of us," she spoke awkwardly. She really wasn't good with the whole 'emotions' thing.
"Did they kill her? Mickey? Did they kill Mickey? Is she dead," Ross asked concerned.
The Doctor furrowed her eyebrows. "Oh, didn't think of that."
"She's my girlfriend. You pulled off her head. They copied her and you didn't even think?" He then wildly gestured to the console panel. "And now you're just going to let her melt?"
"Melt?" The Doctor turned to look and gasped.
"Oh no! No, no, no, no!"
She ran over to the console fast, and set the TARDIS in motion. She needed to follow that signal!
"What are you doing?"
"Following the signal. It's fading! Wait a minute," she quickly latched onto the fading signal. "I've got it!" The signal started to fade quicker and was almost gone. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no! Almost there. Almost there. Here we go!"
The TARDIS landed, and the Doctor bolted out the door.
"You can't go out there! It's not safe," Ross yelled behind the Doctor.
The night time breeze blew through the Doctor's hair. She frowned deeply.
"I lost the signal. I got so close!"
"We've moved. Does it fly?"
"Disappears there and reappears here. You wouldn't understand." She was frustrated with the situation.
"If we're somewhere else, what about the headless thing? It's still on the loose."
The Doctor began to stress out.
"It melted with the head. Are you going to witter on all night," she questioned bitterly.
There was a short pause before Ross quietly spoke up, almost heartbroken.
"I'll have to tell her mother. Mickey. I'll have to tell her mother she's dead, and you just went and forgot her, again! You were right, you are alien."
The Doctor faced Ross now. She was getting very cross.
"Look, if I did forget some kid called Mickey-"
"She's not a kid!"
"It's because I'm trying to save the life of every stupid ape blundering on top of this planet, all right!"
Selfish. That's what these humans are. Ungrateful for the acts of heroicness she does. She risks her life countless times, and all they care about are themselves.
"If you're an alien, how comes you sound like you're from the North?"
"Lots of planets have a North." She was starting to calm down.
"What's a 'police public call box'?"
"It's a telephone box from the 1950's. It's a disguise."
"Okay. And this, this living plastic. What's it got against us?"
"Nothing. It loves you. You've got such a good planet. Lots of smoke and oil, plenty of toxins and dioxins in the air, perfect. Just what the Nestene Consciousness needs. Its food stock was destroyed in the war, all its protein plants rotted, so Earth, dinner!" She made an eating motion.
"Any way of stopping it?"
The Doctor grinned, before taking out a tube filled with blue liquid.
"Anti-plastic."
"Anti-plastic?"
"Anti-plastic! But first I've got to find it. How can you hide something that big in a city this small?"
"Hold on. Hide what?" Ross asked.
"The transmitter. The consciousness is controlling every single piece of plastic, so it needs a transmitter to boost the signal."
"What's it look like?"
"Like a transmitter. Round and massive, slap bang in the middle of London."
Ross stared behind the Doctor, but she didn't notice.
"A huge circular metal structure like a dish, like a wheel. Radial. Close to where we're standing. Must be completely invisible!"
Ross kept gesturing towards the Eye.
"What?" The Doctor looked around confused. She finally saw the Eye and caught on.
"Oh. Fantastic!"
The Doctor then began to bolt across the Westminster Bridge. Ross was running right next to her. She grinned and held out her hand to him. He took it. They both ran together hand-in-hand down to the Eye.
"Think of it, plastic all over the world, every artificial thing waiting to come alive. The shop window dummies, the phones, the wires, the cables-"
"The breast implants," Ross added in.
"Still, we've found the transmitter. The consciousness must be somewhere underneath."
Ross took off out of the Doctor's sight.
"What about down there," Ross calls.
The Doctor went over to investigate. She ended up finding a manhole. She grinned.
"Looks good to me!"
They ran down the parapet's steps. The Doctor opened up the hatch to find a red glow from below. She began down the latter. Once down, she cautiously opened the door. Inside was, to no surprise, the consciousness.
'Ross is fantastic! I might have to keep him around.'
"The Nestene Consciousness," She pointed to the vat. "That's it, inside the vat. A living plastic creature."
"Well then, tip in your anti-plastic and let's go," Ross said, a bit unnerved.
The Doctor frowned, before heading down the stairs.
"I'm not here to kill it. I've got to give it a chance."
She walked down to a catwalk overlooking the vat.
"I seek audience with the Nestene Consciousness under peaceful contract according to convention fifteen of the Shadow Proclamation."
The vat of plastic started to flex. It approved of her request.
"Thank you. If I might have permission to approach?"
The Doctor noticed Ross run straight to Mickey with worry. She just rolled her eyes at them.
"Oh god! Mickey, it's me! It's okay, it's all right."
"That thing down there, the liquid. Ross, it can talk!" Mickey was practically shaking from fright.
"Doctor, they kept her alive!"
"Yeah, that was always a possibility. Keep her alive to maintain the copy," she informed him.
"You knew that and you never said," he asked slightly cross.
"Can we keep the domestics outside? Thank you." The Doctor shot as she walked down to get closer to the consciousness.
"Am I addressing the consciousness?" It replied with a yes.
"Thank you. If I might observe, you infiltrated this civilization by means of warp shunt technology. So, may I suggest, with the greatest respect, that you shunt off?"
The vat of plastic started to reply angrily.
"Oh don't give me that. It's an invasion, plain and simple. Don't talk constitutional right."
The consciousness started to angrily splash back and forth.
"I am talking!" The Time Lord yells. "This planet is just starting. These stupid little people have only just learnt how to walk, but they're capable of so much more. I'm asking you on their behalf. Please, just go."
"Doctor!" Ross yelled out.
She turned around just in time to see the plastics grab her. She struggled against them. One dummy took the anti-plastic from her pocket.
"That was just insurance! I wasn't going to use it!"
The consciousness was extremely angry now.
"I was not attacking you! I'm here to help. I'm not your enemy. I swear, I'm not!"
The consciousness screeched at the Doctor.
"What do you mean," she asked confused.
Just then, a door slid back to reveal the TARDIS.
"No. Oh, no. Honestly, no!" She knew where this was going. It was horrified of her, because of the war.
"Yes, that's my ship." It screeched at her more. "That's not true! I should know, I was there! I fought in the war. It wasn't my fault. I couldn't save your world! I couldn't save any of them!"
"What's it doing," Ross called down.
"It's the TARDIS! The Nestene's identified its superior technology. It's terrified. It's going to the final phase. It's starting the invasion!" Her stomach dropped. "Get out, Ross! Just leg it now!"
The consciousness started to throw energy bolts around.
"It's the activation signal. It's transmitting!"
The Eye started to light up with energy.
"It's the end of the world." Ross stated.
The plastic in the vat was getting extremely agitated.
"Get out, Ross! Just get out! Run!" The Doctor was starting to get anxious. She just wanted Ross to get out safely.
"The stairs are gone," he yelled.
'Oh great.'
The Autons tried to push the Doctor into the vat. Ross and Mickey ran to the TARDIS hoping for safety.
"I haven't got the key," he yelled.
"We're going to die," Mickey cried.
"No!" The Doctor yelled.
"Time Lord." The Nestene spoke.
The Doctor continued to struggle against the Autons. She ended up tossing one over her shoulder into the vat just as Ross swung by on a chain. He kicked the other Auton into the vat along with the anti-plastic.
"Ross!" She grabbed a hold of him as he shakily landed back on the platform. They both looked down at the consciousness.
"Now we're in trouble," she tells him as she starts to run for the TARDIS.
Explosions start to go off everywhere. She quickly unlocked the TARDIS and hastily brushed past Mickey. As soon as she saw they were both inside, she started running around the console flipping switches and hitting buttons. She internally gave a sigh of relief once they rematerialized at a safer place. Mickey quickly stumbled out followed by Ross. The Doctor just smiled and leaned against the door frame.
"Nestene Consciousness? Easy." The Doctor grinned.
"You were useless in there. You'd be dead if it wasn't for me," Ross pointed out.
The Gallifreyan nodded. "Yes, I would. Thank you." There was a long pause before the Doctor spoke again. "Right then. I'll be off, unless, er… I don't know, you could come with me." She smiled at Ross, hopeful. "This box isn't just a London hopper, you know. It goes anywhere in the universe free of charge."
"Don't! She's an alien. She's a thing!" Mickey warned Ross.
'Rude!'
"She's not invited," the Doctor pointed at Mickey. She looked at Ross, "What do you think? You could stay here, fill your life with work and food and sleep, or you could go anywhere."
"Is it always this dangerous?" Ross asked.
The Doctor smiled and nodded. "Yeah."
The Doctor inwardly glared at Mickey for hugging Ross's waist. "Yeah, I can't. I've, er, I've got to go and find my mum and someone's got to look after this dim lump, so…"
She nodded awkwardly. "Okay, see you around." She quickly retreated into the TARDIS, and took off for the time vortex.
Once in the vortex, she sat down on the jumper seat. She couldn't help but feel disappointed. Ross and she could have gone on so many amazing adventures together. He could have been great to have around even if he did aggravate her at times. He was brilliant! It's also been quite some time since she had a companion with her. She couldn't just give up so easily! Something had to make him want to join her. Just then, an idea hit her.
She re-materialized the TARDIS back in the same spot it was in just seconds before. She sprinted to the door, and poked her head out.
"By the way, did I mention it also travels in time?"
She watched as Ross gave Mickey a peck on the cheek, before quickly running into the TARDIS. And off they went.

These Stories Are Good, But I Wish That #1 And #2 Were Portrayed On The Animated Series...
Mainly Because I Know There Are People Like Me Who Don't Go Out To Comic Book Stores And Get The Comics, So, In Turn People Like Me Are Confused About Where Characters Like Grace Are...
Not That There Are Anymore Characters That Leave The Show And Have Me Asking Where They Are, Like I Did With Grace But Still...
If Paul Dini Or Bruce Timm Are Looking At This I'd Like To Know Why They Went This Route With Grace And Didn't Explain Where She Was On The Animated Series For The People Who Didn't Read The Comic?
I Mean They Explained What Happened To Nora Fries After Sub Zero The Least They Can Do Is Explain What Happened To Grace After Two Face...
Anyway We Now Return You To Your Review Already In Progress....
God!
But Aside From My Problems With That These Two Episodes Are Very Good...
The Story And Characters Were Well Written And Their Take On The Character Of Two Face Is Brilliantly Written, Definite Props To Richard Moll For Amazingly Voicing Two Face In This And Many Episodes Of BTAS, All In All I Say See Them Both...

Eugenesis, Part Six Scene Two: Even Roberts Is Concerned At This Point
Ultra Magnus, Death’s Head, Siren, and Galvatron have just reached Aquaria, thanks to the transwarp drive. They reenter reg-space and find themselves faced with the Thermopylae, leaving the orbit of a collapsing planet. Someone brings up whether or not they shouldn’t, you know, go down to the planet that looks about two minutes from self-destructing, but they’ve got to go get the Matrix, which they still believe to be in the underwater base.
We, as followers of the narrative, already know that the Matrix, Xenon, Haxian, and a bunch of nasty little baby makers are on that ship, and decidedly not on the planet anymore. The Aquaria team, unfortunately, does not have access to such information, and they dive down into the ocean, into that massive abyss that the Quintesson base is tucked into.
Tumblr media
Siren, I am so sorry, dude.
Over with Optimus in the Ark, we’re still being ridiculous.
Tumblr media
Optimus Prime, who has been around these folks (all of whom have literally millions of years of experience on him when it comes to fighting thanks to his dirt nap) for a grand total of maybe a day, thinks he’s fit to judge and damn everyone, in one of the most arguably high-stress situations to have ever befallen this entire race. Maybe the whole “turn out you only get to live for three more years after you wake up on Earth” thing is getting to him more than he cares to admit. I know I’d be a bit bleak if I found out I died in a video game made by some nerd with two first names.
The first Tridents are coming towards them over the horizon, and Optimus orders the aerial forces to take them down.
Tumblr media
I like this little snippet.
Joining the Quintesson ships are our Quintessential Flying Fucks, using their jet bodies to their advantage- let’s not forget, for as much time they’ve spent within the story, they haven’t been seen by a vast majority of the Transformers. Most of the robot who saw them on Earth are either off-world or dead. It’s a hell of an advantage for them.
Tumblr media
Sevax, no, you fool! If you leave now, we’ll never get your lore!
While all this is happening up in the air, Optimus tells Mirage to move in. He and his team of ground troops jump out of the back of the ship, losing about half of their numbers to missile fire and lasers. It’s messy. Those who weren’t killed on the way down find themselves surrounded by Sharkticons and hoverbikers. This, too, is messy. Tracks is dead. Bonecrusher’s wounded enough to need to be picked up by Mirage.
Tumblr media
How do you keep surviving these things, Swindle? Roberts must really like you or something.
Although, given what he’s done to some of his favorites, maybe not. Swindle may just be one lucky bastard.
A few of the remaining team members nab some hoverbikes and start making their way over to the Fortress proper. The battle rages on, more and more robots getting killed in violent, awful ways, to the point where I think even Roberts might have sat back and said “maybe this is a bit much,” because this little section is ended with:
Tumblr media
Back on the Ark, it’s just Optimus and Bluestreak.
Tumblr media
I mean, it’s just Bluestreak now.
Tumblr media
Now this is an interesting idea, a form of hierarchy based on computing power in the brain. A sort of genetic class-system, that only those who have extra abilities can benefit from. Sort of reminds me of the cold-construction racism in the IDW comics. Yes, I know Roberts didn’t come up with that all on his lonesome, it’s just an interesting comparison.
It also explains just why Thunderclash was kidnapped as opposed to Rodimus after the bomb went off.
This little hiccup in their biology really bites them in the ass here, as none of the Quintessons realize that it’s Optimus Friggin’ Prime that’s coming towards them. He promptly starts kicking tail.
Tumblr media
Optimus Prime trying to be as cool as Soundwave, but he’s already shown what a jackass he is in this. Too little too late, Optimus. Better luck next continuity. I bet he’s still thinking “fuck, I hope we all get killed for our warmongering”, as he’s bashing skulls in.
Back on the Ark, Bluestreak’s feeling a little lonely, now being the only one aboard. It’s honestly sort of surprising that a ship that big can be flown by a single pilot, but looks like he’s managing alright. He blasts a hole in the Fortress, we’re reminded that it’s the shape of a pentagon, because Quintessons, and then he zips up into the night sky.
Over at Delphi, Sygnet’s bothering Chromedome by screaming about getting a signal from the folks over at the Fortress. This wouldn’t be such a problem, but Chromedome’s busy working on the new microchip to counteract the Inhibitor Chip, and he’s actually running a little behind on the timeline for the whole thing. Sygnet, in a surprising show of understanding, leaves the room.
Sygnet takes the time to reflect on his personal experience with the Autobot/Decepticon war. He’s not a fighter, you see, not in the traditional sense. He spent his time devising and constructing weapons- traditional, biological, some that would violate the Geneva convention- and that was how he liked it. He wasn’t interested in being an active participant.
And yet he can’t help but wish he were fighting alongside Optimus Prime. No one is immune to his charm, it would seem.
As he’s thinking about Cybertron’s collective crush, he follows a set of cables tied to the wall, which lead him to a rather grim scene.
Tumblr media
…Did they take his legs? Why did they take his legs off? How much processing power could one’s leg’s possibly require when you’re flat on your back? I know that he’s about to do some intense stuff and probably needs all the help he can get, but-
It just seems a little overkill is all.
Soundwave’s all trussed up like a life-saving turkey, hooked up to the Delphi transmitter and ready to go with the anti-Inhibitor Chip signal.
Tumblr media
Soundwave’s not taking shit from anyone anymore. He’s had too long a week.
They radio in Chromedome, making sure he’s also good to go on his end- he’s meant to be piggybacking a secondary message alongside Soundwave’s signal, giving the prisoners coordinates to follow. He says that he is.
Tumblr media
Oh, well that’s very nice of you, Chromedome.
Perceptor doesn’t care about niceties though, just giving Soundwave a second of warning that this will probably hurt before flipping the switch.
Soundwave does his thing and then the lights go out.
For, like, the bottom half of the planet.
Luckily, the message got through before that happened.
Over in Kledji, the prisoners are busting out. Shrapnel, an Insecticon, manages to overload the generator for the entire prison, releasing everyone. Folks are transforming like there’s no tomorrow- honestly, there might not be at this rate- and moving towards the ships outside to get to the Sonic Canyons as fast as they can.
Back over at the Fortress battle, Quantax is standing out on the balcony having a little ego stroke.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s got him feeling good. So good, in fact, he decides to join in on the fun, pulling out a rifle and aiming for something easy.
Tumblr media
Looks like Mainframe wasn’t fast enough this time.
The sight of a fellow Autobot’s head just disappearing makes something snap inside Optimus, or something, because that’s the point when he decides it’s time to regroup, retreat, and move on to phase two of the plan. He sends out a long-range message to everyone stating this.
Quantax watches as the Ark returns to the field, loads up all its passengers, and then zooms away. Some Sharkticons had climbed onto the front in an attempt to stop it, but they’re no match for the power of gravity.
Tumblr media
Thank goodness that smile wasn’t sad or proud, or we might be in trouble here.
Man, I hope he remembered to turn on the artificial gravity before he did that.
Quantax is friggin’ pissed at this turn of events. He storms into the control room and orders every still-functioning trooper to hunt down the Transformers and eliminate them. This battle ain’t over ’til he says it is.

The Doctor’s Workshop: The Prologue
From some time, from some place beyond the veil of worlds, an untraceable signal is being broadcast across the realm of Fantasy. One cannot easily tune into it intentionally; those who do accomplish this feat accidentally, often when tuning their radio or television in search for another station. Those who only receive the signal audibly only hear a slightly shrill and subtly unhinged voice whose accent implies its owner to be from the British Isles from at least one iteration of Earth. Those with visuals see a thin, Caucasian man dressed in a red waistcoat and white, long-sleeved shirt, with a pair of peculiarly tinted goggles - red and blue respectively, like the tint of vintage 3D glasses - obscuring his eyes and giving off an eerie glow. The man, whose face was contorted into a welcoming if rather deranged grin, stands in front of a blackboard, where a somewhat enthusiastic hand has written ominously, "THE DOCTOR IS IN!!!"
Tumblr media
"Greetings, people and likewise of the Imagiverse! It is I, Doctor Innovatium, discoverer of the elusive element Innovatium and somewhat of a legend, if I'm right, in universal scientific circles. You may or may not have heard of me or my contributions to the fields of science and technology; indeed, it is likely you know not of either and are wondering who this rambling fellow is! In which case, I will give you a brief rundown;
"In the 1895th year of Earth, London, I had discovered the life blood of the universe; a peculiar substance that serves both as a near-infinite power source and a... dampener of the fabric of reality, or, to put it another way, a space-time hallucinogen. You see, the force of Reality is not as binary as you would think, but rather an analogue quality, so that there are things that are more real than others. What Innovatium invokes is what I've labelled hyper-fantasy, an extreme level of non-reality which does away with the conventional laws of physics and logic and-
"Oh, look at me ramble! Sorry, the nature of the Imagiverse is such a fascinating subject for me, I tend to lose myself. Anyway, I discovered this peculiar element and wasted no time experimenting with its capabilities. With its reality-bending properties, I found it could open many doors to realising the scientific fictions that occupied the minds of many back in those days, what with the Secret of Flight and so forth. I had even hypothesised the use of Innovatium to power our locomotives, although I never saw that patent be accepted by the Bureau.
Tumblr media
"Then came the faithful night I finished constructing my then-latest invention, a portal that could transport one to the Realm of Fantasy, which I had theorised to exist in tandem with the Realm of Reality we knew back then. I'm... afraid I'm rather blurry on the details of the occurrence, but I know that one moment I had been turning on the portal, next thing I was here, in the same workshop I had been in prior, but unable to leave! Thankfully, it meant I could continue my research without the interference of third-parties, and so I have been living here for the past... well, I'm not too sure how long I've been here, time seems to avoid this place, but I have been living here a long time since, isolated from the rest of the universe I now know to be the Realm of Fantasy; the Imagiverse.
"... Well, that wasn't as brief as it should have been, but never mind. I shall get straight to the point; for a long time now, I have hidden from the rest of the Imagiverse, tinkering and tinkering, letting my name become a mere legend among those few who have peered through the veils of their worlds. Today - that is, the point of time that I am transmitting from - that will no longer be the case. I am officially establishing communications with whoever receives this transmission, and this is how you may establish contact-"
Tumblr media
"Dad, what're you doing?"
Doctor Innovatium pauses, turning to his left where his daughter, Alice, was standing in the doorway, her chrome-like face bearing the expression of intrigued suspicion. He had devised many contraptions during his time in this isolated bubble, but not one of those miraculous devices could take his daughter's place as his most prized creation. Time being what it is here, he could not remember exactly when he had the sudden longing for companionship or when he had acted upon that longing to devise his first artificial lifeform, but he was already thinking that she had been with him forever, as if the years before didn't matter anymore. It was a pity the visual recording apparatus would not be able to record her likeliness, as the people were missing out on the chance to gaze upon her metallic beauty.
Tumblr media
"I'm in the middle of a transmission at the moment, Alice," he replied, in a tone considerably more soft than when he had been addressing his imaginary audience. "I did tell you of my plans, didn't I?"
Tumblr media
"Well, I thought you weren't seriously going through with it," she responded curtly. "Do you seriously think anyone would be able to receive that transmission? We're too far away from any worlds for their radios and stuff to be able to pick it up! How many people are you expecting to respond?"
Doctor Innovatium sighs, leaning towards the recording apparatus, a complicated contraption with an eerily-realistic eye fitted onto a large, telescope-like appendage. He turns a dial on a panel fitted into the device, and those watching (or listening) are denied the ability to hear the conversation.
Tumblr media
"Alice," the Doctor says, kneeling in front of his daughter so that they were eye-to-eye. "This is no ordinary transmitter, as I'm sure you may have guessed. When a radio - or for that matter, an antique television - is adjusted to any frequency that does not correspond to a worldly channel, they play static, is that not so? Do you ever wonder why you get static instead of, say, nothing at all? It's because it's receiving signals from a plethora of different sources, some perhaps light years away from their planet. What I'm broadcasting right now will ride on the cosmic frequencies of the Imagiverse, so it will be possible for anyone to receive it. Now, I'm not saying that everyone will be able to; I suspect that it will only be decipherable on select and special circumstances, or perhaps it will depend on their equipment. That, in turn, may actually make it easier for us, eh?
"Besides," continued the Doctor, "you're always wanting to interact with the outside world, which I can understand. It can be very lonely here, save for the company of our, hah, assistants. Perhaps you can take this opportunity to finally talk with the Imagiverse, maybe make some friends!" His smile returns, albeit warmer. "Now, may I please finish my transmission?"
Alice looked down to her feet before looking back up to her father with a stern expression. "And you'll let me talk with the outside world?"
"Absolutely."
Eyes towards the eccentric camera, then back at the Doctor. "Okay."
The Doctor pats his daughter on the shoulder, his grin widening. "Brilliant." With that, he positively strides back to the device with a single step, turns the dial back and continues.
Tumblr media
"As I was saying, upon receiving this transmission, you will be in the possession of a device you didn't have before. Where you may find said device will depend; it may be on a counter, it may be next to a computer-like contraption of yours, or it may perhaps have materialised before you as you are listening. Either way, you will know it to be a gift of mine; it will enable you to establish contact with us from your world. Simply take it to a device that you wish to contact us with, and it will make some... Modifications to said device. I've designed it to be exceptionally versatile, so you can leave all the efforts to the device.
When the modifications have been made, you will be able to contact me," the Doctor turns to his daughter, who is watching him with her arms crossed, before adding, "and my daughter at any time. You may ask us any questions you may have, although I beseech you keep any... intimate questions you have for my daughter to yourself. She is still, at least in my eyes, quite young, so I will not tolerate any amorous advances-"
"Oh come on, dad!"
"- that you may make towards Alice. Anyway, I believe that all points have been accomplished for this broadcast, so I shall end the transmission here. I look forward to hearing from the people and likewise of the Imagiverse and to finally step out of the mists of legend and into the public eye once more. So for now, adieu, auf wiedersehen, farewell."
Silence. The transmission concludes, at least for the time being. Those who listen through the transmission would receive the device, and if they choose, they would use it to contact the mysterious Doctor and his daughter. It is uncertain the number of recipients that would respond, but considering the expanse of the Realm of Fantasy, it pays to be optimistic, at least on the part of the Doctor. _____________________________
And so starts the blog! Hello, Tumblr, this is @adamskelecoot, coming at ya with my first roleplaying blog. I've been devoting quite some time into getting this ready, what with creating the icons for both characters, and am proud to announce this ship ready to sail. The roleplay (at least, on my side) will include originally crafted icons drawn by yours truly (with borders sourced elsewhere - see Sources page). Usage of said icons will start off as liberal for now, as most of the planned icons are still in production, but the ones I have made so far should suffice for now. I look forward to seeing how this project will pan out. I would like word to spread about my new blog, so any voluntary act of promotion is greatly appreciated, as long as you @ this blog. That's all I can say atm, so make sure to check out the pages on my blog, especially the Rules page, and I'll see you in the Workshop!

100 Day Project 1/100 - Pathfinder.
In the universe of The Human Endurance.
It would be an understatement to say that spirits were low aboard the Pathfinder. Kian had only been here for a few months, but he had been quick to fall in with the habits and moods of the crew. Something was wrong in every aspect - from the heavy wake-like silence in the commons to the near-darkness in everyone’s living quarters.
We’ve become a ghost ship, he thought.
Despite the incredibly crowded quarters, it felt as though the ship was dead.
They’d been in this system for the better part of three months. Of it, they’d spent the last week in orbit around this world, letting their pulsar drives recharge. The devices, as the name implied, charged best on rapidly turning pulsar stars, but could do so from any other star with enough time – thus, they traveled on pulse engine alone, soaking up the energy with solar plating as they’d journeyed across the system.
He had checked the readouts just this morning, and they indicated the ship would be ready for a hyperspace jump in a little bit over two days, at the current charge rate. The world they orbited was in the planet’s “habitable zone” – close enough for the star’s energy to do something, but not so close that they had to expend precious power reserves on their magnetic shields.
It helped that this was a fairly tame star, too: a yellow, mid-sized star, about half (give or take) through its lifespan, not prone to any of the fussy flareups that rendered so many systems inhabitable and planets unexplorable.
It could have been an ideal place to call home.
Or, more accurately, had once been.
Spindly arms wrapped around his waist, and he pulled himself away from the window, leaning down to kiss the top of the newcomer’s head. “Luna,” he said softly.
“Nice to see you too, Kian,” she tried to tease him, her voice thick and breaking with emotion. She rose up on tiptoe to peer out the viewport, her breath audibly catching.
“Need a boost?” he offered, because she very much might. She shot him a Look (with a capital L) and shook her head.
After a long moment’s silence, she finally spoke again. “So. We’re here.”
Another pause.
“I never thought I’d see it.” She hugged him tighter. “Earth.”
No one aboard the ship had dared speak the name aloud. They all knew, but to verbalize it … made it real.
“It’s browner than the pictures,” Kian murmured, the closest to agreement she was going to get out of him. She didn’t respond.
“Why did we have to come out here? The mining station was the last viable colony, and even then only barely. There’s no point in being here, too-” She stretched up on her toes, pressing her face into his chest and wrapping her arms around him. “I’m so glad we made it there, don’t get me wrong –“
He cut her off with a light chuckle. “I know, Luna. I’m glad you did, too. But you know everyone had to see this. Had to see…” He couldn’t quite bring himself to say it.
“There aren’t any survivors down there. There can’t be.” It trailed off like a question, and he found himself lightly kissing her forehead again.
“I’m sure there aren’t. The readouts don’t lie – that atmosphere would kill anyone without a full vacsuit, and you know the vault projects weren’t made to last this long. There – there can’t be, no.” Luna sniffled, burying her face in his side, and he held her close. “It’s okay. They’re in a better place. They’re not hurting anymore. And they’re not alone anymore, either.”
He knew first-hand how crippling that loneliness could be. Alone, on an alien, uninhabited planet – and surely Earth counted as alien now, with how badly its ecosystem had collapsed.
His family – or more accurately, his great-great-grandparents – had been helium miners on a station in orbit around Neptune. But as the life support aged and failed and his family one by one succumbed to all manner of respiratory ailment, he had been abruptly confronted with the idea of either a slow death like theirs or else… the unknown. He’d done what any sane person would do, he’d loaded himself into the last functioning helium return pod and shot himself off towards the Martian collection station. He’d had no real plan for once he got there; surely there’d be a crew who could help him, help him figure out a plan.
But instead, he had found himself alone, using the hacked together pieces of a scavenged “pressure failure” kit to seal an emergency shelter inside the remnants of a completely uninhabited, ruined city complex, setting an emergency radio to blast every frequency with a cry for help.
He hadn’t really expected anyone to come, much less that same day; he was shaken out of an exhausted near-unconsciousness by a helmeted, vacsuit-clad soldier-looking sort, who’d brought him aboard the ship with no more questions or answers than his name.
Luna shook him out of his thoughts, softly poking him on the nose. “Boop,” she whispered, and he laughed lightly and leaned down to kiss her properly. In the last few weeks, once he’d recovered some of his strength, she’d been all but glued to his side, showing him all around the ship and teaching him how to do all the odd maintenance tasks that he didn’t know. He was good with the computers, at least; he’d had to be, to keep the station running.
There was a loud, electronic chiming sound, and Kian jumped. Luna laughed, steadying him. “It’s just the communications array, someone’s transmitting on one of the frequencies we’re...” She paused for a moment, a look of horror slowly crossing her face. “…wait.”
They were too far for there to be any transmissions from the ship’s home systems, Luna had been adamant about that. And there were no signals to be found here, either; every one of the mining satellites among the outer planets and even the Martian Viability Project (Or as some books had called it, The Real MVP) had returned nothing. No pinging, not even a basic radio interference to say that maybe there was something online there.
There shouldn’t be anything left in this system to ping with.
All at once there was a clattering in the corridor beyond, muffled orders being shouted and heavy boots tramping on metal. A helmeted head
“OI! Lovebirds, let’s go! Something’s coming in!” The gruff voice of the commander echoed through the small space.
They exchanged a helpless look, squeezing their way out of the small viewport and into the corridor, which was abuzz with activity for the first time in nearly seven days.
“Let’s go, let’s go!” the commander said again, snapping her peculiar cross-shaped visor into place over her face. It was just for show, of course; there was no immediate threat, by any means.
Kian pulled Luna close against his side, earning a dirty look from the commander. But she said nothing, ushering them into the “command deck.” Perhaps poorly named, it was a half-dome-shaped room that likely had not been the original bridge, but had become it, having been filled nearly to the brim with all manner of extra controls for retrofitted auxiliary engines and weapons. There was certainly not enough room in here for the entire crew, but they all piled in regardless, crowding around and staring at the radio transmitter in the center of the pilots’ array.
“What’s happening?” Kian quietly whispered, craning his neck to see over the heads of the taller crew members. Luna shushed him.
“Datalog – oh, I’ve forgotten. Data- Datalog three thousand  - no…. This is – Datalog four – I mean, resident. That’s – still not right. Apologies. Resetting transmission. Stand by.” A quiet voice, reedy and full of the crackle of static and uncertainty, spilled from the speaker for several moments. As the sound cut out, an uneasy murmur began to fill the space around Kian and Luna. Everyone spoke at once, tossing around anxious questions. Who is it? What is it? Is it recent?
The commander barked an order and they quickly fell silent as the radio crackled back to life.
“Resident zero six zero five three eff, as in ‘forever.’ Given name: Endurance.” The voice was shakier this time, fighting to stay even, but far more coherent. “Vault two hundred seventy-six. Consecutive datalog entry four thousand three hundred and ninety-four. Condition report: Life support systems at a consistent four percent. Backup generator three reporting intermittent power failures. Air quality is poor. Water quality is marginal. Nutritional assay of sustenance is unsurvivable.” The speaker let out a shaky sob, a whimper that almost sounded inhuman from the radio distortion. Kian tried not to flinch.
“Psychological report: I – I… don’t know what to do anymore. I guess – unsurvivable. For formality’s sake.” Another whimpering breath. “If I leave the Vault it won’t let me back in, even if the power somehow stays on and the air stays clean, which it won’t, but – there’s. There’s nothing left for me here. Asha died – index reference, sorry, sorry, uh – the, the laboratory rat, see- datalog three thousand nine hundred ninety...one?” The speaker cleared their throat. “Asha died this morning. I haven’t seen another human in – in I don’t know how long. The databases are down, everything’s in power saving, and I – I… I think I’m going mad.”
“Please help me. If you’re – If you’re even out there. God, or future aliens, or – whoever you are. Please.“
“…This is my last datalog entry. I’m putting the systems in powersaving mode after this. I don’t… I don’t know. I don’t know what to do.”
“If you’re receiving this too late, know that – know that you tried, and it’s okay, and – and I forgive you. I think – I think I speak for everyone on Earth, now.” A chuckle hollower than a mined-out asteroid. “We forgive you. We’re sorry.”
“I’m sorry.”

Dark Horses 3
Becca felt a bead of sweat run down her face and felt it run onto her top lip, as she panted heavily it must have caught on her breath because she saw the drop fly though the air. Out of options she fell backwards and rolled desperately to her left kicking out, there was a solid connection and her on rushing attacker stumbled, Becca had a moments glimpse of an exposed jaw as both arms shot out to break their fall, she snapped out a heel and felt the crack as it made connection.
"Fucking lucky!" Yelled Sergeant Knickers from the edge of the ring as Petra jumped up to check on Barbie.
"No kidding, shit she's fast," Becca lay flat on her back gasping for breath, "I need to stop relying on being taller than all of you."
"Yes, you do," said Kovac, "you need to remember what are stopping blows and what are just pointless combatives that look pretty."
"Like you're a shining beacon of variety Mr I'll-just-punch-them-into-submission. Get in the ring and show me something that isn't counter striking," Panther jeered vaulting the ropes and beckoning Kovac.
"Hardly a fair fight, I've got damn near a foot in height on you and I'm probably twice your weight, not sure this is gonna prove much," Kovac said waving her off. "Besides I've proven it repeatedly, I can't hit girls, I remember those nuns who raised me and I can't do it."
"If we get Dorman down later?" Asked Becca.
"Oh him I'll hit," Kovac agreed, "sergeant-major, a word," he called to Panther.
"Wolf has been in touch, Fluke has successfully defended three transports. It shouldn't come as a surprise that it's the Galax. Its always a smash and grab job, any organised defence and they give up." Kovac said as he walked down the hallway, Panther having to scurry a little to keep up.
"Wolf has asked if a second troop can join him, I'm going to go out to the Towoli and take a look at the situation with the Bartuq. 2 Troop will accompany me and Gilly's aux troop is going to go out and get set up. Dorman and 3 Troop will stay here and move out to assist Wolf if necessary." Kovac pushed open his door and gave his sergeant-major a nod.
"Yes sir, And you want me to..." Panther felt her voice have a slight upwards inflection as she spoke annoyed at her uncertainty.
"To oversee all this and keep it off my desk sergeant-major."
The door closed, Panther cursed inwardly, this new position kept overwhelming her, she had served under Kovac to one degree or another for over 10 years now but this was the closest she had ever worked with him and suddenly she found him intimidating and found herself unsure around him.
Panther was heading for her office when she met Knickers, the taller woman was looking the other way as she approached and in profile the thin cheeks and slender nose made her seem particularly striking, as she so often did Panther's eyes traced the scars on Knicker's forearms.
"Sir," Knickers turned to Panther, "the captain said you'd have orders."
"Yes, 2 Troop will be heading out to the Towoli with the Major, as will 4 Troop, the auxiliaries, let Staff Frank know will you?"
"First deployment, uhh, any advice?" Knickers asked.
"Talk to the captain if you have any questions and rely on your section commanders and their 2IC, remember your job is to see them do their job, not do it for them and don't worry, you were given this job for a reason," Panther realised she should take her own advice.
Wolf nodded as Dorman entered the room, he gestured at the table and said, "you get a look at the plans on the journey?"
"Yeah, looks solid, we can probably push through their defences before you swing in, means it makes more sense for you to roll up behind us and break their centre." Dorman said.
"If you think so, you'll need to hammer them in that first assault though, we need to be amongst them before they know it or they'll rabbit."
"You worry about drawing them in, let me worry about the attack," Dorman replied, "Now, more importantly, did you know Sharon was married!?"
Wolf stared at his friend for a few moments and closed his eyes, "dude..." he said his voice pained, "in three months she never once had you round to hers, she had a patch of lighter skin on one finger and never used her communications when around you." Wolf stared into middle distance, "I think at this point bud, just assume you're catnip to bored, married women."
"I swear I'm not looking for married women!" Dorman said rather pathetically in Wolf's opinion.
"Look, I don't know what to tell you, maybe ask them outright? You're not the sort of guy who wants to date married women, you're not amoral...you're not Kovac but you are gonna get your ass shot if you keep sleeping with these women, especially on Pelcar-3."
"That's a bit hard on Kov, dude wasn't intentionally sleeping with married women," Dorman said.
"No he just slept with anyone he could and didn't care...Look at some point the five of us will sit down with some drinks and we can argue the right and wrong of sleeping with married people and we can all laugh at Becca as she ties herself in knots trying to justify being the other woman to both the husband and wife but as far as I'm concerned if you know someone's married they should be off limits. Now, are your troop ready to start a dry run or do you want some time?"
Dorman had a few more moments of looking wretched, "No it's fine I'll dig Sergeant Webb out and we'll start an exercise."
Sergeant Glover didn't like it when his men had to stop being soldiers, he had no regrets in the choices he had made in his life and he would always be proud of the loyalty in his heart but when soldiers turned mercenaries were asked not just to take off uniform but to start playing sneaks he was unhappy. That being said, Captain Wolf's plan was sound and more importantly Major Kovac had signed off on it.
"Ty, Costa you two are no longer soldiers but that doesn't give either of you leave to carry bowie knives on your damn belt," Webb snapped.
"Interestingly sir did you know that the bowie knife was named for the man who carried it not it's creator and the man it was named for may have been mostly fiction infact..." Ty began but was cut off by Sergeant Webb.
"Not now damn it Ty, a bayonet is enough, who needs so many damn blades?"
Sergeant Glover watched this exchange and knew the response before it came.
"Major Kovac carries karambit knives and so does Captain Wolf, I've seen Captain Becca carry 3 or 4 Wasp axes," Costa started up, "Not to mention Corpo I mean Sergeant Knickers carrying..."
Webb cracked his fist into the table top, his voice cold and hard, "when the operation is over, you will come to me and we will discuss the addition of equipment to your standard issue, until that time, take off the damn blades."
Glover knew this would happen, once you left the army rules were harder to maintain, order could be lost. His own men knew that to carry a non-issue weapon they had to prove they knew how to use it which is why most carried a bayonet and why the captain carried a BC-41 and a push dagger on top of the karambit knives the men knew about.
Webb joined him shaking his head, "I dunno Fluke, why do they all want to be Rumble? What's that stupid phrase the SM says?"
Glover winced at the mispronounced name, "it's Rambo, and the SM says "guns for a show, knives for a pro."
Webb shook his head again and glared at Ty and Costa, "If those two weren't my best I'd kill them and bury their bodies to save me my misery."
"Problem is Captain Dorman finds 'em funny," Fluke said as close as he'd ever get to criticising the commissioned officers he'd grown to trust.
Webb grunted and started to move off, "Fluke once we're in you'll need to come hard to keep the roll going."
Glover nodded, certain things didn't need saying in his opinion.
Wolf watched as the raider vessels came alongside the freighter, for the first time since he'd started defence they were able to pull alongside and dock. Within minutes they were on-board and moving deck to deck. Timing in his head, Wolf guessed that Glover must have moved into position, he signalled Dorman that 1 Troop were on the move.
The transmitter chirruped as Wolf's message arrived, "alright!" Dorman shouted, "the raiders are engaged, time to take out their bolt hole before they know it's engaged."
3 Troop were moving quickly, Dorman pulled his men forward while 3 section dropped back with Sergeant Webb, this first part needed to be quick and quiet.
Wolf watched as Fluke and his section sprang the trap, the Galax raiders had fallen back towards their vessels as soon as the Dark Horses had engaged, and now as they neared them Fluke - already secured their ships - struck from the rear cutting through their numbers.
The second message from Wolf confirmed they were on route, Dorman gave the command and his men launched their assault. The design of the Galax position meant that the only way in was a frontal assault but human weapons and munitions should blast through the entrance and then it should be a case of room to room and making sure the Galax couldn't escape with their equipment to continue raiding, in those close quarters the Dark Horses training should do the job.
Dorman watched as Gray led his fire team forward and placed detonators. In position now Dorman saw no point in delaying, he gave the signal.
Wolf willed the distance to close as they sped towards the Galax position, now they had engaged he had more doubts about allowing them to assault in two waves, as they slowed he sprang from his seat, Fluke moving too. They found a young riflewoman at the breach, alone.
"Mfene, isn't it?" Wolf asked, "where's your dual?" Soldiers were never left isolated like this in combat.
"Ito is inside, went in to protect the medics sir," Mfene answered.
"The medics are inside!?" Wolf bit back a curse and ran forward.
The Galax compound was basic in its layout, built into a cliff face it had a high fortified wall that Dorman had breached with a centre compound filled with the Galax raiding vehicles, behind which three tunnels ran off, the centre tunnel was known to be more heavily fortified. Dorman's men were supposed to be in the left and right tunnels but possibly a third of them were engaged in a firefight with the centre tunnel defences.
Wolf pulled up as he scanned the fight, Dana and the other medics were in one corner they seemed to have half a dozen patients, two Riflemen stood guard over them. By all evidence the remaining soldiers were in the two other tunnels.
"Banjarjee take two section and sweep the two outer tunnels, O'Shea with me, clear the outer defences of the central tunnels, Flowers, 3 section should be prepared to provide fire support. GO!"
O'Shea ran forward, Wolf close behind him, as they reached the combatants Wolf signalled to Sergeant Webb who gestured his acknowledgement of the plan and had his men pull away from the centre, smoke grenades and other ordinance sailed through the air and with a roar the men of 1 troop launched themselves into the tunnel.
The fight was bloody but over quickly, the injury count was less following the second wave but still over a dozen troopers were needing medical treatment back on base.
Little was said as the Galax vehicles were destroyed and their weapons confiscated. With the loss of their attack vehicles the surviving Galax would be arrested by local authorities and usually moved on to less criminal activities provided no other raiders tried to recruit them.
The journey back to Pelcar-3 was subdued, word passed that Kovac and 2 Troop had returned following the officers reports from the Galax engagement.
Once returned to the Dark Horses compound Wolf pulled his men to a debrief in a separate corner leaving 3 troop to handle their own injured and return certain kit to stores. Dorman was checking weapons back into the lockers when the Quartermaster approached him.
"When you're done here Hero, the Major wants to see you in his office," the derision in her voice was stronger than normal.
"I'll be there after I've checked on my men in med-bay," Dorman replied, not looking up.
"I'd avoid Staff King right now Hero, and I'd not be late for Kovac, I believe it's an interview without coffee," growled the Qm.
Dorman stared after her as around him a slight muttering spread among the men, turning to his sergeant Dorman asked Webb to take over the checking off.
Ten minutes later Dorman knocked on Kovac's door, for once closed. Inside Kovac sat behind his desk, unusual for a man who tended to sit on his desk as often as use it.
"You changed the plan, I understand it was your choice though Captain Wolf was at pains to tell me he agreed." Kovac didn't greet his captain.
"Yes sir, I assessed the enemy's strengths and concluded my troop capable of the task, which they were, I believe we would have been successful with or without the support of 1 Troop."
"You believe...this isn't 1914 Captain, we don't measure success by numbers dead, them more than us? Oh it's a victory. You believe..."
"I believed my men capable of..."
"You believed," said Kovac raising his voice for the first time as he stood up, "The hype, you believed our own propaganda," Kovac put on a sing-song voice, "Humans we're bigger, badder, rougher and tougher, believe me brother their ain't no other," his voice changed to one high and clear with careful enuncuation, "hard to stop and impossible to kill the human is a deathworlder that is capable of preternatural feats," Kovac's voice returned to normal, "damn it Dorman, you behaved like...like we're damn space orcs, expendable in numbers and unbreakable to boot, we may sell ourselves to the galaxy as the interstellar hobgoblin but we know different, we're professional and highly trained. That was bloody amateur hour."
Kovac took a long breath, and sitting down, "Dorman you're a good officer but you have a tendency to think you can do it all, and at times that's good, but you cannot put my men's lives on the line like that again. I would suggest you pay the injured soldiers bonus from your own pocket and a sizeable donation to the fund would be advisable. If you're feeling particularly contrite perhaps letting Wolf punch your teeth out in the ring would be a good idea?"
Dorman looked as though he wanted to reply but stopped himself, he nodded and turned to leave then stopped, "I'm sorry sir, I know you hate your men getting injured, I genuinely believed it was a smart play."
Kovac sighed, "I know you did mate, find that balance between impulse and hesitancy, remember to take a breath and re-evaluate and you'll be a great leader of men. Better angels and all that."
Dorman nodded and left the room.

summary:
There are a few things that Beast Boy knows for certain:
He’s 21….and a total lightweight. He’s a vegan (but not like…a pretentious vegan). He’s not going to be single forever.
And the Teen Titans are the only family he’ll ever need.
a/n: Sorry it took me so long to get this next chapter out! I've been very busy lately. Hopefully things should be getting a little more consistent soon.
Enjoy!
Chapter 2: The First Fight ( words: 7,525 )
Lately, Beast Boy had decided that his least favorite part of being called out on a mission was changing into uniform. Calling it a uniform and not a costume made it only slightly less embarrassing.
He understood the point of it—at least from Robin’s perspective. But the rest of them didn’t have much of an alternate identity anyway, so the costume always seemed a little redundant. Like Raven had pointed out when they first met, trying to ‘conceal your civilian identity’ seemed a little pointless when you were green. But they’d still kept it up all these years regardless. Robin’s leniency toward costume redesigns was the one saving grace.
Beast Boy quickly grabbed a pair of slick black athletic pants off the floor, along with a form fitting long sleeve shirt. It was still raining outside and, heading into October, that meant it was probably pretty cold out there too. Both pieces were relatively plain, save for a few purple accents here and there and several obnoxious zippers. He strapped on his extra-grip running shoes as tightly as he could without cutting off his circulation. He’d learned from experience that this was a necessary evil.
Before running out the door, he made sure to grab one last thing. A red and white sports jacket that he’d been recently trying to incorporate into his look. Raven always complained that he needed to just pick one color scheme and stick with it—the purple and black or the red white—but Beast Boy refused. She told him the jacket was stupid, and actually seemed actively annoyed by the clashing colors. So naturally he wore it every opportunity he got.
He glanced at the clock on his desk, muttering a curse under his breath. He darted out of his room, nearly tripping around the corner as he ran. It had only been a minute or two, but sometimes that wasn’t fast enough for Robin. The guy seemed to live in his uniform. Beast Boy suspected he always had on it underneath whatever he was wearing--just like in the movies.
By the time he got to the garage, only Robin and Cyborg were still there—Robin about to hop on his bike, Cyborg tinkering with his car again.
“There you are,” Robin said, in the middle of putting on his helmet.
“Sorry,” Beast Boy panted.
“Don’t apologize,” Robin said flatly. “Apologies don’t fix mistakes. Actions do. Just try and get here sooner next time.”
“Right,” Beast Boy said. The words weren’t unfair or mean spirited, but they did leave him with a small pit in his stomach. Raven could teleport anywhere in an instant. Cyborg didn’t even have to change. And any time Starfire was ever late or unprepared for a battle, Robin barely seemed to noticed. Maybe that was one of the perks of dating your team leader.
“I’ve already sent Star and Raven out to do some recon. You should try and catch up to them,” Robin said, revving the engine.
Cyborg had stood up from behind the car, and was now typing away at a keypad on his arm. “Just sent their location to your transmitter. You shouldn’t be too far behind them.”
“On it,” Beast Boy nodded.
Without looking back he turned on his heels and started running as fast as he could—at least in his human form. Then, in one quick movement, the ground disappeared from under his feet, replaced with the damp, whirling air of a rainy day.
He hadn’t been lying earlier. With a hawk’s eye view he really could see every detail below him—everything from the man shushing his child at the bus stop to the woman handing out religious pamphlets on the corner of the street. If the clouds hadn’t been blocking it, he figured he probably would have had a pretty good view of the sunset. Instead, the sky was dark and gray. The city easily made up for it with every streetlight, headlight, and illuminated office building that cut through the rain.
The bank was just around the corner--the sirens and flashing lights confirmed it.
Beast Boy glided down to the roof of a shorter building just across the street from all the action. He perched on the back of a patio chair--one among many on the rooftop. The air smelled like coffee and freshly baked bread, even through the rain. And based on the number of sparrows that scattered when he landed, he figured the roof had to belong to a restaurant or coffee shop. The thought alone was enough to make his stomach rumble again. Turns out two handfuls of Fritos couldn’t really count as a meal.
Beast Boy whipped his transmitter out of his pocket and clicked the button on the side.
“I’m here,” he said, looking around. “Not sure exactly where everyone else is.”
“Hold on a sec,” Cyborg’s voice crackled through his ear. “They just left. Heading west in pursuit. Towards the outskirts of town.” The sound of frantic typing echoed through the speaker. “Their signal’s dying though. Fast. I think I’m gonna lose ‘em any second.”
Beast Boy smiled, even though no one could see. “Piece a cake.”
He slid the transmitter back into his pocket and leapt off the building once more. He flew directly over the sea of blaring lights and sirens, bypassing them entirely. Two blocks ahead, he dove into an alley and landed on all fours. Fortunately, the GPS he had up his sleeve was powered by smell, not cellular signal. And in this kind of weather, a green wolf prowling through the shadows could easily be mistaken for a mangy stray dog.
The rain admittedly made things more difficult. Every trace of a scent he found was vague and foggy. But he was confident he’d find the trail eventually--the scent he was looking for was hard to miss.
After trotting through the shadows for a good ten minutes, he finally caught what he was looking for. The aroma itself, sweet and slightly smoky, was faint at first. But it was so distinctly different from every other smell—exhaust fumes, humidity, and now wet dog--that just one whiff was enough to send him into a small sneezing fit.
The buildings around him had begun to change pretty drastically as well. Instead of skyscrapers, narrow apartment buildings made up the majority of the street face. He passed an old-fashioned gas station with only three pumps. Several men were standing outside the convenience store connected to it, laughing and smoking cigarettes. Another block down he passed a 24 hour pizza place that was totally empty. Then another convenience store with a busted neon sign. The street lights changed for only a few passing cars. He could count the number of people he saw on four paws--one of them a stray cat that had hissed at him violently as he passed.
Beast Boy knew he was still very much in the city--but he didn’t know where. Somehow even with the lights and the people and the apartments, it felt like he was trekking through a ghost town. A place that the rest of the city had forgotten about altogether. He couldn’t explain why exactly, but his breath suddenly felt more labored and tired. Like each time he exhaled it was more of a sigh. A shadow of sadness he couldn’t trace back to any one thing in particular.
When the ground shifted from asphalt to grass, he breathed a sigh of relief. The dewy forest floor felt so much more natural when he was in this form. Needless to say, the relief was not just physical. As he put more and more distance between himself and the streets behind, the sentiment began to fade. And it disappeared completely the moment he spotted some flaming red hair poking through the trees.
He bounded forward and leapt into the air, sneezing mid-transformation. To top it all off, he quickly realized that the ground beneath him wasn’t so much ground anymore as it was a pile of mud. A pile of mud he promptly slid right into.
“Beast Boy!” Starfire gasped.
“’Sup ladies,” he said with a wink, meeting Raven’s eye roll from the ground.
“How were you able to locate us?” Starfire asked, helping him up. “We do not have any of the signal.”
Beast Boy stood, trying (and failing) to wipe the mud off his jacket. “Oh, that was easy,” he said, flicking some off his shoulder. “Raven stinks .”
Raven glared at him, her eyes two menacing slits under a cloak of shadow. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“You always smells like that weird store downtown,” he continued. “With the Buddha statues and weed socks.”
He should’ve seen her next move coming--but of course he hadn’t.
Suddenly Beast Boy’s footing gave and he found himself on the ground again-- magically --like he’d never gotten up in the first place. Raven was looking over him.
“It’s called incense . And I’ve never set a foot in that disgusting store in my life.”
Beast Boy got to his feet again. This time unassisted. “Well it stinks,” he said dramatically wrinkling his nose. “Why can’t you just burn sugar cookie candles like a normal person?”
Raven frowned. “Well at least I don’t smell like a soggy doggy daycare,” she replied.
Beast Boy looked down at his drenched, and now very muddy, clothing. No grade of athletic fabric would have been enough to save him from the laundry he’d be doing after a fall like that.
“So you have no news from Robin?” Starfire quickly interjected, looking around a little more urgently than either of them.
“I think he was about to head this way—maybe he’s asking some questions back at the bank?” Beast Boy shrugged. He instinctively reached for his transmitter. “Lemme check if I have any bars.”
Flipping the device open in his palm, he squinted at the top left corner. Miraculously, he had a flickering signal--if only for a second. The number in the top right hit 2%...then 1%...and then the device shut off entirely. He snapped it shut.
“Uh--nope, nothing. No bars,” he said, biting his lip.
“Oh, glorbnaf,” Starfire said under her breath.
Beast Boy looked around them, but could only make out the shadowy outlines of the towering trees. Out here, the only light they had to guide them was the glow from Starfire’s eyes.
“Sooooo...”
“We just lost them,” Raven said flatly.
Beast Boy grit his teeth. ““...What’re we gonna tell Robin?”
“Exactly what I just told you. Unless you have a better idea.”
Beast Boy looked around the clearing they were all stopped in. And when he really started to absorb his surroundings, the feeling from the streets returned again. He couldn’t place what it was, but something didn’t feel right. It was something about the ground. Now that he wasn’t running across it or slipping in a mud puddle, he could feel something. Hear something deep below.
“Hold on a sec,” he said, furrowing his brow. Instantly, the green elephant from earlier reappeared in the clearing, landing with a crash. Starfire and Raven’s eyes both widened in confusion, but they remained silent as Beast Boy slowly walked around the clearing. With every step he took, he could feel it more clearly--a sort of vibration, a humming reverberating up through the earth. He stopped directly in the center of the clearing and transformed back.
“I think...they’re still here,” he said slowly. “They’re just...underground.”
“Underground?” Starfire said.
Raven frowned.“So you turned into an elephant and stomped on their ceiling. Because that’s not conspicuous at all.”
“Eh heh hem,” Beast Boy said as he spun around. “Elephants can hear through their feet, Raven .”
“You know what else can hear underground?” she replied. “Tiny mice and mole rats that don’t alert the enemy that we’re standing right on top of them .”
Beast Boy just threw out a hand dismissively. “Yeah, right. Like they really heard that.” He shook his head. “I heard some kind of weird humming noise. They’re probably blasting music while they count their money.”
“Um...friends,” Starfire’s voice cut in, once again much more urgently.
Beast Boy and Raven turned simultaneously, eyes following Starfire’s gaze as she pointed to several metal objects rising out of the ground.
Without missing a beat, Raven raised her hands, eyes aglow. A translucent purple dome instantly appeared around them--and not a second too soon.
Lasers bounced viciously off the barrier, coming from every direction. Even though the dome easily deflected the shots, the action began to produce a troubling smokescreen on all sides, completely blocking their visibility.
“You were saying?” Raven sneered, brow furrowed in concentration.
Starfire began to throw shots out in every direction. Each time she was lucky enough to hit something, a small burst of light leaked through the smoke, which was only now beginning to clear. Just enough for Beast Boy to see the lights coming toward them.
“Uh...guys,” he said, his voice cracking slightly. “We’ve got company.”
Starfire spun around, now following his line of sight. She began firing once more, this time with slightly more precision.
“They’re gonna be right on top of us,” Raven said, gritting her teeth. “I have to drop the screen. I think it’s--”
But Beast Boy didn’t wait for her to finish the thought. He hadn’t been able to do much on the mission so far. But now, with so many targets in front of him, he could feel the blood thumping in his ears, more loudly than the voice of his friend.
In the next moment, he felt his claws dig into the wet earth, and then into sharp metal and sparking wires as he pounced and ripped off one of the approaching figure’s arms. Having the jaws of a bengal tiger made the the task as simple as snapping a toothpick. Beast Boy pounded forward, barely dodging several strikes from what appeared to be some sort of metal staff. When he was within a foot of the wielder, he leapt directly at them, aiming for the center of the staff they now held up in defense.
But instead of reveling in the satisfaction of watching the staff broken in half at his feet, Beast Boy suddenly found that he was the one of the ground again. His right leg coursed with a numbing electric pain, and every nerve in his body felt distant--misplaced.
With a nearly invisible swipe, the staff and its wielder had spun out of his reach, only to knock him down with an incredibly basic low sweep. On his back, reeling with pain, he looked up at the shadowy figure hovering over him now. Blue and white sparks flew off the cold metal of the staff, which they raised above them, ready to deliver the final blow. Beast Boy closed his eyes tight. It wouldn’t actually be the final blow of course. But it definitely wasn’t going to be pretty either.
Just as he was about to accept that being bedridden for a week wouldn’t be all bad, a blaring noise passed over him, followed by an inhuman scream. He opened his eyes, squinting just enough to see Raven hovering off to his left.
“You can thank me later,” she said, barely glancing at him before firing another bolt of shadow into the fray. “On your right.”
Beast Boy looked up again and, with his good leg, used the same move that had bested him to take out the oncoming attacker. In one swift swipe, the figure was on the ground, falling face first into the mud. With a subtle smirk, Beast Boy quickly transformed again--this time into an alligator--and chomped down on the attacker’s leg.
The figure fell limp, but just as it did, Beast Boy felt the pain coursing through his right leg again--this time radiating all the way up into what would have been his thigh. He slipped back into human form, pulling the knee tight up against his chest. No matter which way he turned it, the pain didn’t disappear.
It was during this moment that he realized just how quiet the scene had become. When he looked back up at the battlefield before him he only saw a handful of enemies left standing--and they were clearly outmatched. In the entire time it had taken him to take down two goons, his friends had managed to wipe out the other thirty or so.
He rested his forehead on his knee and exhaled a long sigh. Yeah. Typical.
“I’ve found something!” Starfire called in the distance.
He lifted his head to see her crouched over one of the bodies on the ground. After a moment she stood back up, brandishing a small object in her hand. Meeting Beast Boy’s eyes, she flew over to him.
“Beast Boy--are you the hurt?”
“I’m fine,” he said, shaking his head. “Just...tired.” Though even as he said it, he could feel the muscles in his leg throbbing in pain.
Raven appeared silently behind Starfire, who looked down at the object again. She sighed. “It is the same symbol as that from the other attacks.”
There was a pause as Beast Boy studied her expression, which was relieved and distraught at the same time. And then he noticed Raven, who was staring straight at him, squinting.
“Why’re you looking at me like that?” he said, eyebrow raised.
“I’m not looking at you ,” Raven said, rolling her eyes.
“What?”
“Scoot over,” she said, waving her hand.
Even though it hurt to do so, he did, moving a foot away from the tree trunk he’d propped himself up against.
Raven crouched down next to him and began digging through the soggy leaves. The rain was starting to let up, but in the aftermath of the storm everything was still a muddy mess. After a moment, her efforts revealed an incredibly dim, blinking red light buried under the roots of the large oak tree.
Beast Boy furrowed his brow in confusion “How’d you--?”
“Your ass was blinking,” she said, pressing the dim light, which was apparently also a button. A small translucent panel popped out of the bark of the tree just above it.
“Why were you staring at my ass?” Beast Boy said, unable to resist flashing a snarky smile at her as he said it
Starfire giggled, a hand at her mouth trying to contain herself.
Raven shot her a look and she immediately dropped it. She looked back at the panel that had appeared on the tree. “It looks like a fingerprint scanner,” she said, eyes narrowed.
Without a word, Raven looked back out over the battlefield. She extended a hand out in the direction of one of the fallen androids. In an instant, a dismembered arm flew into her hand. She removed the dirty leather glove from the end of it, revealing a small bit of ultra-realistic latex skin that had managed to stay attached to the hand. Sure enough, the grotesque realism included fingerprints.
She pushed each finger up against the scanner, one by one. When she got to the ring finger, the panel finally blinked green and, after a moment, receded back into the trunk.
For a moment, nothing happened. And in that short span of time, Beast Boy managed to climb to his feet, making a conscious effort to look as uninjured as possible. Of course, when the ground began to shake and he fell flat on his ass again, he was sure he wasn’t convincing anyone.
To their right, a particular pile of leaves rustled a little more than the rest. With a loud click, a perfect circle began to cut itself out in the forest floor. There was just enough moonlight now to illuminate a narrow metal ladder leading down the edge of it.
“Well that was...easy,” Raven said, her tone tinged with even more distrust than usual.
“Who cares?” Beast Boy said, finally making it to his feet for the second time. “Time to kick some secret society android ass motherfu--!” He took one triumphant step forward, and, for the fourth time that night, found himself covered in mud on the forest floor.
Raven looked down at him from where she was standing, specifically eyeing his right leg, which he’d instinctively reached out for after the fall.
“You’re not coming,” she said, matter-of-factly.
“ What ?”
“Stay here and wait for Robin. Starfire and I will take care of it,” she said, ready to turn around and be on her way.
“But I just got here!” Beast Boy whined. “And I—“ He began to complain, but winced as the numbing pain coursed through his leg again.
Raven shot him a look over her shoulder. A look that told him that arguing with her wouldn’t be worth the trouble.
“Alright, alright,” Beast Boy grumbled. “Staying here.” He threw his arms up in the air in surrender and plopped down on the damp forest floor, leaning back up against the tree.
Starfire gave him a sympathetic smile, but drifted away with Raven as soon as she started to make her way down the passage. And in a moment, he was completely alone again.
“You know,” he yelled at the nothingness, “there’s lots of dangerous animals that don’t even have legs!”
The ironic chirp of crickets in the distance was the only reply he got.
Beast Boy looked around once more at the bodies littering the ground. He felt something akin to frustration bubble up in him. Seeing them all lying so still, he could actually get an idea of how many enemies they’d been up against. And how he was only responsible for taking down two of them. He couldn’t just quit here. If he did, it would be like he’d never even showed up to begin with. Like he’d barely contributed to the match. And that was the last thing he wanted.
Beast Boy eyed the opening in the ground that his two friends had just disappeared into. Then he shot one last glance at the army of androids littering the ground like old rag dolls.
“Raven wants me to play babysitter? Yeah, as if.”
With support from the tree trunk behind him, he pulled himself to his feet one last time. He could manage to stand on his own--and even walk a little if he was careful. But he was kidding himself. As much as he hated to admit it, Raven had been right about the severity of his injury.
He thought for a moment about what he could transform into. Something that wouldn’t require him to use his legs—at least not for movement. Something small and inconspicuous—something not even Raven would notice. Something that wouldn’t have any trouble getting down that tunnel.
One idea quickly came to mind. In a flash, he went from standing still to beating his miniature wings so fast he could barely see them. He felt invisible--which was exactly what he wanted. He hovered over the pit. And as for his usual dilemma, he didn’t have a thing to worry about. After all, humming birds were already green.
The passage underground was dark, damp, and at least three times as cold as the wind chill on the surface.  As Beast Boy fluttered downward, a slight breeze pushed back against him, which admittedly made him start to second guess the whole humming bird thing.
Eventually however, the breeze started to level off, and Beast Boy could make out a faint yellow glow coming into focus beneath him. When he finally reached the source of the light, the breeze dispersed altogether as the tunnel opened into a wide room.
It was roughly what he’d expected. If you’ve see one underground hideout you’ve seen ‘em all.
Old subway tiles lined the wall. Though they’d probably been white at one point, now they were as brown as the rough dirt floor. The room itself was empty, save for a stream of water running along one edge of it. The water originated from somewhere beyond a grate in the eastern wall. It simply passed through, and exited out another grate at the opposite end. In the far left corner, another dim yellow light illuminated the only other point of entry built into the room. The whole scene looked a bit like the indie horror games Beast Boy never had the guts the finish.
He flew across the room toward the light, which revealed a long empty hallway.
Unmarked doors lined each side of the dirty tile, walls. The narrow space reeked of antiseptic and decaying wood. He quickly made his way down the hall, which fortunately had few twists and turns. Smaller hallways occasionally branched off of the main one, but they only led to clusters of doors. Doors that were all either locked or held nothing but some unremarkable chairs and tables inside them.
Whoever had designed this place had clearly been playing too many video games.
As he went deeper however, the atmosphere began to change slightly. The tiles lining the hallway gradually looked whiter, cleaner, newer --as if the hall had only recently been constructed. Down here, instead of just blank doors and empty rooms, signs began to pop up next to the door handles. They ranged in description from things like ‘JANITOR’ and ‘STORAGE’’ to things like ‘NEUROEPIGENETICS’ and ‘CRYOCONSERVATION’. Beast Boy was just beginning to wonder what the last two could possibly mean when he heard the faintest echoes of voices bouncing around an upcoming corner. And at least two of them were instantly recognizable.
He darted forward as quickly and as silently as his wings would carry him. It wasn’t long before the familiar sounds of Starfire’s energy bolts and Raven’s chanting joined the mix. When he turned a corner at the end of the hallway, the scene came into full view before him.
The room, or rather warehouse, was incredibly large, the decor just as plain and white as the route to get there. But unlike the other rooms he’d seen on his way over, this one wasn’t empty. Stacks upon stacks of large wooden crates and cardboard boxes lined the walls and sat in groups all over the floor. The ceiling reached incredible heights--it had to be at least fifty feet tall—and there were several stacks of crates that reached all the way to the top. It resembled the backlot of a Home Depot, that is, if the mulch and flowers had been replaced with suspicious, unmarked boxes.
The boxes aside, the room was wide open, so it wasn’t hard to get a good look at the fight going on. Beast Boy swallowed hard.
On the floor, there were already several people down. They looked just like the androids--black jumpsuits and masks that showed only their eyes. But none of them were sparking or twitching like broken machinery. Instead, they were writhing on the floor in pain--still alive of course. But it was the alive part that changed things.
In the ceiling corner diagonal to him, Beast Boy watched as Raven raised her hands, gritting her teeth as she heaved a forklift into the air and shot it toward a group of people, their weapons aimed directly at her. There was a loud crash, followed by a stream of red bullets flying from the cloudy aftermath of the wreckage. Raven dodged each one of them with an expert precision.
On the other side of the room, Starfire brutally yelled at one of goons in Tamaranian. She whipped around, blasting another small group of them with a beam of green light from her left hand. With her right, she cut down one of the ceiling beams, which subsequently crashed down on top of another few.
But despite their efforts, there were just too many of them to handle all at once. And the extras didn’t seem particularly interested in fighting back. They were trying to run away--and they were trying to take something with them.
In the corner the farthest away from the rest of the fighting, Beast Boy watched about ten or fifteen individuals scramble to transfer a particular set of crates into a white van. The engine was already running, the driver ready to take off at any moment.
Raven and Starfire were more than qualified to handle anything their opponents were dishing out. But they were outnumbered--and now they were stuck holding off the distraction.
Beast Boy felt his blood pumping again. This was his chance. Er...second chance. To not just be the distraction or the plan B, but to take center stage. And once again, it sparked something in him that he didn’t quite know how to control.
So he didn’t try to control it.
Any worry he had about Raven catching him immediately vanished. He didn’t care about being inconspicuous. He wanted to be seen. And a two ton rhinoceros was definitely more visible than a humming bird.
He hit the ground running, savoring the crack of the tile beneath his legs as he ran. The adrenaline coursing through his veins rendered all of the pain it caused him irrelevant. The ground shook, and instantly he could feel that all eyes were on him, even though he was too focused on the target in front of him to see them. He charged, head lowered, horn pointed directly at the group behind the truck, ready to—
“BEAST BOY!”
He instantly skidded to a stop. But he’d put the brakes on a second too late.
The criminals ducked out of the way, spared by his split second of hesitation. The driver revved the engine, Raven’s furious words still echoing off the walls.
They were the last thing he heard before he smashed head first into the wall.
When he opened his eyes, he felt his knees going weak underneath him. The only thing holding him upright was his horn, which was firmly pinned through the tile, behind the plaster of the wall. Pain shot through his leg again, and with a yank to free himself, he fell over, his thick skin scraping against the cold shards of broken tile that littered the floor.
Reverting back to his human form was less a choice than it was an obligation. Again, Beast Boy pulled himself up against the wall for support. He looked down at his bloodied palms, felt the taste of blood on his lips. And those were just the new additions to the injuries he’d already sustained.
“Fuck,” he whispered to himself, rubbing a hand across his temple. More blood.
He closed his eyes tight. But the room was bright enough that, even so, he noticed the instant a large shadow fell over him. He opened his eyes, squinting against the lights in the distance. Looming over him was the entire group of individuals he had pinned as easy targets only a moment before.
“Uh...hey there,” he said, with a faltering half smile. “Nice outfits. They new?”
Suddenly, one of the figures stepped forward out of the group. In their hand they held a long metal staff. They gave it a shake and blue sparks began to fire off the end of it.
“Oh. Right,” he said, his shoulders slumping. “That.”
This time he didn’t try and fight it.
Surprisingly, knowing what was coming actually just made things worse. This time he wasn’t caught off guard. And with no distractions, every single brain cell was free to experience the electrifying punch that landed smack in the middle of his chest.
“AHHHHH!!” he yelled so loudly he could barely hear himself think. His eyes shut tight again, this time automatically, and he could feel his entire body curling in on itself. The only control he had left was his ability to scream, and even that felt alien. Like it wasn’t really his voice he was hearing.
He tried to open his eyes, but the entire world was fading into a black static screen. The static itself became more and more muted, like even the TV was starting to lose power. His stomach wretched, and his breathing quickened. But no matter how many breaths he took it was never enough.
Not far off in the distance he heard a loud, muffled growl, followed by the crashing of crates in every direction surrounding him.
The roar of a truck engine and skidding tires rang in his ears, then grew more and more distant.
“Raven!” A second voice yelled, a little farther off. “They are escap—“
Another growl. A voice spitting words in a language Beast Boy didn’t understand. More explosions. The ping of stray bullets reflecting off the walls.
Beast Boy dared to try and open his eyes one more time. Everything was still hazy, but he could make out the shapes and colors before him. He inhaled, finding that his breathing was already beginning to even out. His muscles ached. His chest ached. Every inch of his body hurt like hell.
But he was...fine. Relatively speaking. He was a superhero after all. He’d just gotten his ass handed to him. Again.
But Raven didn’t know that.
The instant the thought occurred to him, he froze--and not just because of the literal paralysis.
Raven didn’t know he was perfectly conscious.
Beast Boy had dedicated countless hours--entire years of his life--to the art of pulling off the perfect prank. He’d gotten everyone at least one point or another over the years. Even Silkie . But pranking Raven had always been like trying to solve a puzzle where none of the pieces fit together. It was impossible. He’d tried everything. Or so he’d thought.
He shut his eyes tight again, this time biting the inside of his lip to keep himself from blowing his cover. If he could get away with this, he could get away with anything .
In a matter of moments, the noises began to fade. The last shots were fired, followed by the thud of a body hitting the floor. And then footsteps that stopped right up next to the side of his face. Someone pausing to lean down.
“Beast Boy, get up,” Raven said sternly, her voice close to his ear. So close he could nearly feel her breath on his face.
Instead of responding though, he continued to lie there, focusing every bit of willpower he had on holding his breath and keeping as still as humanly possible.
Needless to say, doing so became more difficult when he felt two icy fingers press up against the side of his neck. The minute Raven’s skin made contact with his own, he felt a shiver run down his spine. For a brief moment it occurred to him how foreign her touch was. Despite have known each other for so many years now, they rarely ever made physical contact. The only exception was accidentally kicking each other under the table at dinner or smashing into each other in a fight. Raven wasn’t exactly the kind of person you casually brushed up against in the hallway or high-fived after wrapping up a mission. It was a small thing, but in that moment, it felt huge.
“Oh come on,” she muttered under her breath, more to herself than to him. “Look, I already said I don’t have time for your stupid jokes.”
Beast Boy continued to hold his breath, dually to keep himself from breaking character and to keep himself from snickering.
And then she grabbed him firmly by the shoulders and started shaking. Lightly at first, then a little more abruptly. That was something he hadn’t anticipated at all --but at the very least the motion was enough to obscure the rise and fall of his chest as he snuck in a quick breath. Once she set him down on his back again, he relaxed his muscles completely, picturing the image of a rag doll and trying his best to mimic it.
Raven paused. She pulled away for a minute. There was a soft whistle as she breathed in sharply through her teeth.
“Shit,” she whispered, the syllable uttered harsh and quick. It gave Beast Boy pause for a moment.
“ Shit ,” she repeated, her voice shaking a little. There was a distinct lack of apathy in her tone as she said it. For a split second it almost sounded like she was...concerned. Actually concerned .
And suddenly Beast Boy was too.
This had been a bad idea.
A very bad idea.
But before he could pretend to ‘wake up’ and avoid fucking up the situation any more than he already had, Raven picked him up. Not with magic. She actually picked him up full on princess style. Of course, Raven was naturally stronger than the average person, despite mainly relying on magic when it came to fighting. Just another tiny detail about her that suddenly felt very significant.
Beast Boy felt himself freeze up again--but this time it wasn’t an act. What exactly was going on here? And why did he feel so...weird about it?
A second later they were moving.
Beast Boy’s heart began to pound. If he’d been able to pick up on Raven’s scent from over a mile a way, he could definitely smell it now. It was on her clothes and on her skin--both of which he was pressed directly up against. Suddenly two fingers on his neck seemed like nothing. He took a cautious breath in through his nose, not having really decided whether it would be best to keep playing along for now or blow the whole thing.
But the idea of there even being an option didn’t last long, because in the next instant, the unimaginable happened.
He sneezed.
Raven skidded to a stop immediately. When she looked down, she locked eyes with a very conscious, very much alive, very much panicking Beast Boy.
There was only one road out now--and it was the one he least wanted to take.
Playing along with his original joke. His shitty, poorly thought out joke .
If he could play it off as much, maybe he’d be able to slide out of this. Raven would roll her eyes and drop him on the ground. And it would be like it never even happened.
He threw a hand over his forehead. “The...light...” he choked dramatically. “Closer to the light.” He outstretched his other hand toward the sky—which was suddenly moving upward with lightning speed...as he fell flat on his back.
He’d expected as much. What he didn’t expect was the absence of a snarky remark from the girl who’d just dropped him.
Just then, he noticed Starfire finally making her way over to them. She was panting, sweating, completely out of breath. “I tried to follow them but--” She gasped, hands flying up to either side of her face. “Is everything the alright?” she asked, looking down at Beast Boy on the ground.
There was a pause.
“Yeah. Everything’s fine,” Raven said, a hint of hostility in her voice. Without another word, she turned sharp on her heel and began to walk back the way they had come.
Watching her go, Starfire extended a hand out to Beast Boy, helping him up. “What is wrong with friend Raven?”
“Pfft,” he said, trying his hardest to laugh it off. “Nothing’s wrong with her. She just doesn’t know how to take a joke.” But even as he said the words, he knew that what he’d done had been more than just a joke. It had teetered on a pretty dangerous line. Maybe even crossed it.
Starfire looked puzzled. “How can a joke be taken if it is merely a string of sounds?” she asked.
“I—it’s not important,” Beast Boy said, his mind elsewhere.
The trip back was slow and tiring. Beast Boy insisted that he could walk on his own for all of two minutes before letting Starfire carry him the rest of the way. By the time they made it back to the top of the tunnel they’d entered through, it felt like the battle they’d just fought took place a week ago. Maybe more. Time seemed to move more slowly--maybe because Beast Boy was preoccupied, mentally slapping himself every passing second.
When they reached the clearing, Raven was sitting criss cross in the air at the opposite end, meditating.
“I suppose we will have to tell Robin that we have failed,” Starfire said sadly, helping Beast Boy sit up against a nearby tree.
“Eh, what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him,” Beast Boy said, trying desperately to sound uninterested and unaffected. “I figure we’ve got some time to make up a convincing story before he gets here.”
But just as Beast Boy closed his mouth, a flash of bright yellow headlights cut through the trees, rushing toward them. A vehicle—unmistakably Robin’s motorcycle—skidded to a halt just at the edge of the clearing. The figure riding it lifted off his helmet and gave his short dark hair a ruffle before swinging off the bike and walking toward them.
“Finally! Do you know how long it took me to find you all without any tracking devices?” he said, panting. “Cyborg’s been going nuts trying to--” Then he paused and took a moment to look around more closely at the scene. First he looked over at Raven in the corner, her back to the rest of the group. Then he glanced down at Beast Boy, limply propped up against the tree and covered in blood. Finally he looked at Starfire, who had never learned how to keep a particularly convincing poker face.
Robin’s own facial expression shifted dramatically, his tone dropping. “What. Happened .”
“I—we—there was—” Beast Boy fumbled, pointing at himself, then Raven, then at the hole to his left.
“Beast Boy happened,” Raven interjected, harshly, her back still turned to them.
“Beast Boy?” Robin repeated, addressing him directly.
“I don’t know what she’s talking about,” he said, crossing his arms over his chest, avoiding eye contact.
Robin threw him a skeptical look.
“He was hurt,” Raven said, finally turning around. “So I told him to stay behind—and did he? No. Of course not. He came running after us trying to ‘help’,” she scoffed, making air quotes as she said it. “Queue Mr. Genetic Mistake rushing in with a broken leg and getting knocked out, making ajoke out of it, and buying the idiots we were chasing just enough time to escape.”
Robin turned back to looked at him, disappointed.
“She forgot the part where I was the one who figured out where they were hiding,” he said defiantly, pointing at himself. His caution momentarily replaced by an edge of defensiveness.
“Yeah,” Raven sneered. “By ringing the doorbell.”
“At least it helped us find the entrance!”
“An entrance they’re definitely going to close off or relocate because now we know where it is .”
Robin sighed a long, deep sigh. “Alright. That’s enough.” He rubbed his temples, eyes shut. “We can’t do anything about it now except hope to do better next time. Raven, help him out, would you?” he said, nodding toward Beast Boy. “Star, there’s some stuff I wanna ask you about the people you fought.”
Before she turned her back on him, Starfire shot Beast Boy one last sympathetic look. Though this one felt less like a ‘I feel for you,’ look, and more like a ‘glad it’s not me’ look.
Beast Boy looked down at the ground. He couldn’t risk meeting Raven’s eyes.
She approached him slowly, also avoiding looking directly at him. She crouched down next to him, silently placing her hands over his injured leg. A cloud of energy began to swirl above it, and the pain started to subside slowly but steadily.
Beast Boy snagged a quick glance at her face, trying to read her expression. She didn’t budge, as if healing him took every ounce of her concentration. He knew it didn’t.
For the third time that night, he felt somehow...uncomfortable with their close proximity. The silence only made things worse. So, without thinking, he tried to break it the only way he knew how.
“You’re just mad ‘cause I finally got you ,” he said, trying to manage a playful smile. He imagined that the one he mustered up wasn’t completely convincing.
Suddenly Raven stopped. The light faded from her hands. She stood up and looked down at him, this time dead in the eye.
“Not everything is a joke, Beast Boy,” she said sternly. “And one day, you’re gonna learn that the hard way.”
Beast Boy just sat there for a moment, processing what she had said. He tried to think of a response--some offhand one-liner that would lighten the mood. Those were his speciality. But he was drawing a blank.
“Alright you guys, let’s head home,” Robin called from the distance. “We’ll figure out what to do next tomorrow.”
Raven remained silent for another moment. She continued to looked down at Beast Boy, then she looked off to the side. It was subtle, but Beast Boy thought he heard her whisper something to herself under her breath.
She turned her back on him and walked away.
He crawled back to his feet on his own.
No one turned back to help him up.

Uhhhh Star Wars modern navy au where the falcon is just a really fast houseboat, thanks for coming to my ted talk
[Sorry this took me so long to complete.]
Quick disclaimer: I know nothing about engineering. I know nothing about houseboats. I know nothing about the navy. So, uhhh, I doubt very much the ideas I brainstormed with my friend (who at least knows a teeny tiny bit about the British Navy, nothing about any other countries’) really fit with your marvellous idea, but this is what we came up with:
So, apparently the navy has these things called Royal Research Ships which are basically mapping boats which I think help map the coastline for OS maps and such (a good chance I’m wrong there) and are just used for scientific research. Because these voyages tend to be very long, it naturally acts sort of like a houseboat because people have to be living on it for weeks and months at a time, just… observing and mapping the coast, I suppose. (This is the only way I could think of to get a houseboat into the navy.)
Now imagine that this is a boat in a modern-era-inspired world that’s not this world (because I refuse to deal in actual international politics when I’m writing fandom stuff.) Han signed up to join the Republic Navy for adventure! Excitement! Also to escape his awful hometown of Corellia, but no one can blame him. He passes all his training, is great in a crisis, but mouths off to a few too many important people (because even in a world where Palpatine holds off his plans for total dominion until Han’s 30ish, the Republic’s still pretty corrupt) and gets assigned to a Republic Research Ship called something boring like the RRS Valorum III.
Han hates it.
He’s a guy who’s looked for action and adrenaline his whole life, only to be dumped on a ship where all he can do is stare at scenery. No mortal danger. No one shooting at him. No battles. Of course he hates it. He’s not the only one.
Because apparently there are quite a few people the higher ups don’t want in the main navy, and they all got thrown onto one unimaginatively named boat bound for some fascinating ice floes in a wasteland called Hoth.
Truly, none of them can wait to get there.
Slightly mollified by the fact that he’s not the only miserable person on board and also the fact that at least he’s the one they gave the captaincy to, Han decides to at least try to make the most of a bad situation.
He likes Chewbacca. He’s the only one with any actual experience and Han has no idea why he’s not the captain, but the guy’s nice and can keep everyone else in line.
The twins are utter menaces. As far as Han can tell, there was nothing wrong with their record at the Academy, they’re both incredibly bright and good at what they do, but there’s a tense political climate between the Chancellor of the Republic, the military, and something about Separatists. Luke and Leia’s mother is a senator and their father’s high up in the navy, so by their combined efforts to keep their reckless twins safe the two were dumped on the most boring, uneventful trip the navy had.
There are some other people, but they’re not as important to the plot.
(I don’t know how many people crew these ships and I couldn’t find it anywhere, so I’m going to say it’s a small number for plot convenience, and if it’s not, well then, it’s AU.)
They’re perhaps a week into the voyage—with Han thoroughly sick of the general crew, some of the more insufferable cartographers and scientists, and particularly the twins and their idiosyncrasies—when he decides that something’s wrong with the engine (it’s not) and he decides to go down to fix it.
Turns out Luke has already got there and seems to be tinkering with something. Han doesn’t know what it is—it looks like a long range transmitter; maybe he misses his parents (or wants to shout at them some more for dumping him on a boring boat)—and doesn’t really care. He goes straight to “fixing” the engine.
After a while, Luke joins him.
At some other point, Leia comes down to help as well, leaving an irate Chewbacca above decks to deal with the rest of the crew. They tinker with the engine some more, and somehow they find they can make it go faster.
Chewie is not pleased with this discovery.
That doesn’t dissuade them. They keep tinkering, and keep going faster.
RRSs aren’t supposed to go that fast. That doesn’t dissuade them either.
By the time they realise just how fast they’re going, Han’s grown somewhat fond of his stingy research ship, despite the disappointing lack of explosions. It’s nowhere near as polished as the name Valorum III implies, considering this is an old ship that’s seen a great many research missions and is (to put it politely) barely sailing. It’s rougher and more lived-in, and they all love it by now. Boring as it is, keeping it together is a stimulating challenge in itself.
They decide to rename it.
Han’s suggestion of the Millennium Falcon is shot down by absolutely everyone, but he pulls rank on them and that’s that.
By now, Chewie isn’t the only one who’s horrified at the gratuitous changes Han and the twins have wrought. They don’t care. They’re still doing their jobs, and it’s not like they’re even using the super-fast speed they’re getting, otherwise it would interfere with the mapping of the coastline, so. They keep going.
Everyone is thankful for it after Hoth.
The ice sheets and floes extend for miles beyond the actual snowy landmass that is Hoth. It’s summer when they reach the outskirts, so most of them are broken up and they can chart a course through the icebergs. The equipment and sensors are all going mad trying to plot it all, but the Falcon gets through.
They’ve finished and are on the way back when they start picking up odd signals.
They’re encrypted, and seem military somehow. But the Falcon and her crew are supposed to be the only people from the military for at least a hundred miles. Who wants to fight someone out here?
Against literally everyone else’s advice, Han decides to investigate, and finally makes contact with the unknown senders. They’re nearby, they can all tell that much.
Han introducing them over the comms as the Millennium Falcon probably saves their lives.
After all, it is not a recognisably Republic name. By now, the ship is beaten up enough to not be recognisably Republic either. They make it far enough into the ice floes, Han stalling entertaining the mysterious adversaries while everyone else on the ship stands on guard, watching and mapping and documenting the scopes, hands clenched on the controls ready to get the hell out of there the moment it gets dangerous. No one know what’s going to happen, and they’re just an itty bitty research ship. The best chance they have if things get nasty is to skedaddle.
Meanwhile, Han is making some strides in this conversation (he privately thinks he missed his calling as a negotiator) when Leia rolls her eyes and takes over. She charms them a lot faster, and gets three key pieces of information:
The person she is talking to is a gentleman named Count Dooku.
They are a base of people who admit to being… dissatisfied… with the Republic.
They call themselves Separatists.
That’s all Leia really needs to know at that point, already contemplating everything her parents could do with this information, when the people monitoring the scopes come up with something alarming: the base they’re being herded and invited towards is massive, teeming with ships and life forms.
An entire army, perhaps. With the weapons to match.
Han doesn’t take any more convincing to turn the ship around and get out of there. Leia’s managed to get enough information out of them; they don’t need to stay any longer, especially if they’re all gonna die—
Five Separatist ships give chase.
The Falcon leaves them in the dust.
They’re going fast. Faster than fast, and they’re pushing the limits of what Han and the twins had rigged into the engine and they’re practically flying.
They make it back to the base at Coruscant in record time. They get given some flak for not finishing their mission to the absolute best of their abilities, but everyone shuts up when they hear what they have to say.
They’d found the Separatist base.
They get questioned an debriefed and questioned some more. Han doesn’t see Chewie or the twins for several weeks afterwards—he presumes Luke and Leia are with their parents for at least some of that time—but then new orders come in. An attack is to be launched on the base—or, what’s left of it after the Separatists started to evacuate. The Falcon is to be examined and copied—her speed is apparently an advantage the government won’t pass up. And Luke, Han and Leia, as the people who originally worked such magic on her, are to oversee the process.
The part Han is excited about: there might be an entire fleet of ships like her.
A fleet of houseboats, from a certain point of view. It would be great.
(So long as he gets to keep the Falcon.)

Sometimes it is the way things end that is beautiful.
Even when things are raw and aching, the endings are magical. -Nikita Gill
Sam and Dean Winchester have saved the world more times than anyone can count. They've been the real heroes of the stories people share late at night after too many drinks at the bar. They've been saving people and hunting things their entire life, but what happens when the day comes, and they aren't here anymore. What will their legacy be? Who will carry on?
Legacy.
It's planting seeds in a garden you never get to see. -Hamilton

The burly man stares at the bearded, blue-eyed man in front of him, the sound of the chaos from the fighting behind him fades away as he charges ahead, raising a sword up to defend himself with. Evan can see the anger and hatred in his eyes, but he quickly flings the man off his feet with a wave of his hand and throws him backward.
"Heads up!" Evan calls out to his friend as the man flies through the air.
Lexi turns quickly to see a body soaring through the air in her direction, she takes a small side step out of the way as the man lands a few feet in front of her and slides through the dirt, coming to a stop right beside her. She twirls the angel blade in her right hand as she very dramatically drops down to one knee while driving the blade into the heart of the man.

The girl pulls her blade back out with one hand, while she grabs the sword from the dead man's hand with her other as she rises to her feet. She strides over to Evan tossing him the sword, "Know how to use that?"
He smirks at her question, "I think I can manage."
She nods and turns away making eye contact with Jody, who now has blood splattered across her face from the werewolf she just killed. The girl then glances back to her right to see Donna pull the trigger on a female charging at her while Claire runs a silver dagger through the heart of the monster she's fighting.
"What's the plan boss?" Alex questions as she makes her way beside Lexi, a sawed-off shotgun in her hands.
"They asked for a fight," Lexi glances over at the girl with long dark-hair beside her as she twirls the angel blade in her right hand, "I'd hate to disappoint 'em."
Alex fires off a round into an approaching werewolf, sending it flying several feet backwards as Charlie comes running towards them with a smirk on her face.
"All set," she states in a rushed tone as she holds up a small transmitter with a red button.
"You do the honors," Lexi responds as Charlie smirks.
"FIRE IN THE HOLE!" the red-head calls out to the other hunters around her and everyone turns away from the door of the warehouse as Charlie pushes the red button in with her thumb.
A loud boom comes from the door and when they turn to look, there's a giant hole where the deadbolt lock used to be on the door and it now swings open freely. The door on the second story balcony of the warehouse suddenly flies and a large man comes out with a pistol, hesitating on who to aim at first, but Charlie has her gun drawn and fires a round into him before he can decide.
"Charlie," Lexi states, "you and Alex take the second story, the rest of us will clear out the first floor. Jody, Donna, you guys want to circle around back, make sure no one tries to escape? Claire you're with us."
The two older women give their nods of understanding as they split off from the group.
"Got it," the red-head responds, then turns back to look at Evan who's just decapitated one of the monsters with the sword, "Hey Clarke, mind giving me us a lift up there?"
Charlie grabs Alex's hand as Evan smirks and uses his free hand to levitate them up to the balcony, before moving to stand beside Lexi while Claire walks a few feet past them. The dark-haired girl looks up at the man beside her.
"I'll take point, watch my back?" She questions, as she cuts her eyes to the blonde girl in front of her then back to Evan.
He catches her signal and nods with a reassuring smile, "Always."
The man standing before Sam comes down hard across his face with another punch before he says, "They'll never get past the soldiers I have outside. The only hunters we were concerned with were you two, all the rest are either dead or useless."
A slow laugh escapes Dean's lips as he closes his eyes and his brother glances at him, as he too begins to laugh. The two of them are tied to chairs, both are bruised and bloodied from being beaten, and they both are laughing almost hysterically.
"You think this is funny?" the man before them questions angrily and suddenly an explosion blows a hole in the warehouse door.
He has several men on the second story walkway rush toward the door leading outside, while another group head to the door that has been compromised.
"You pissed off the wrong hunter," Dean says smugly as his laughter subsides.
"Yea," Sam remarks with a devious smile, "she can be a real witch."
Gun fire rings out as Charlie and Alex make their way across the top catwalk, making easy work of the werewolves, while Lexi, Claire, and Evan force their way through the front door. Evan's relying on his swordsmanship to take out the men who are coming for him, while Claire's knifing any werewolves who get close enough to her, not realizing that the man behind her also keeps one particularly agile monster at bay with quick flick of his wrist. Sam sees this though and smiles in appreciation at Evan's subtle protection maneuvers.
Lexi uses a combination of hand to hand combat on one guy before she manages to get an angel blade through his heart. She glances up at the second story cat walk, watching as Charlie and Alex fight their way through, noticing a dark-haired female is trying to get the drop on the red-headed hunter, but Lexi raises her free hand, quickly twisting her wrist sharply in the air, and like the reflection in a mirror, the female's head jerks around abruptly, the sound of her neck snapping causes Charlie to glance back. Realizing what's happened, she gives Lexi a small appreciative smile and nod. The dark-haired hunter goes back to the monster before her and she jerks her angel blade back out as a large man from behind her grabs her right wrist in mid-air and rips the angel blade from her grasp. She quickly spins around to face the man; she can see both Winchester brothers just past him and they are both tied to chairs and looking as if they've been run over by the same truck.

If you want to know the secret, if you want to know the truth,
there is nothing more dangerous than a girl who is aware of the flames inside her,
and all the damage she can do. -Nikita Gill
The dark-haired girl can feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins as the sight of her friends angers her. She has her fists down to her sides and she looks up at the man menacingly as she swiftly moves her fists together in front her, keeping her arms straight down, then with a quick fluid motion she jerks her arms back out to her sides, twisting her wrists outward as she does. The two brothers watch in amazement as silver daggers magically manifest in each of her hands and she gives the man in front of her a devious smirk before she lunges at him with one of the daggers, slicing his throat first, then ending him with a fatal stab to the heart. Dean's not witnessed Lexi's powers in action much since she has gained control and he glances over at his brother.
"What was that?" Sam whispers in shock.
"I don't know," Dean replies, trying not to smirk, "but I'm impressed, slightly unnerved, and a little turned on."
"Dean," Sam hisses, and the green-eyed hunter shrugs his shoulders, a playful grin plastered to his bloodied face.
Two females charge Lexi, and she flings both her daggers into them before she turns to look at the Winchesters expectantly, "Hi guys."
Both men give her boyish smiles as Jody and Donna kick in the back door, making work of the few men back there. Lexi tilts her hands back towards herself causing the daggers to pull out of the victims and return to her hands.
For a moment, it's as if time slows down for the two Winchester brothers, as they watch Lexi take a smaller man down to his knees, grabbing him from behind in a headlock, while she swiftly flings one dagger across the room into another monster who's just picked up a dropped shotgun and is aiming it at Evan. That monster falls, dropping the weapon as Lexi shoves her other dagger into the man still in her grasp. Evan's dropped the sword and currently besting an equally sized werewolf in some hand to hand combat. Claire stabs a man without hesitation swiftly and then spins quickly to take out another one approaching her from behind. They look up and see Charlie elbow a female hard in the face before she stabs her with an angel blade, then she looks back at Alex and tosses her the weapon for the dark-haired girl to use on the monster she's currently fighting, both having tossed their guns to the side after running out of ammo. Jody and Donna come up beside them firing their pistols like trained assassins taking out the four werewolves they have in their sights. Sam glances to his brother and they share a proud brotherly moment at what they're witnessing. They were the reason these strong women were together, and in that moment, they felt a sense of peace for the first time in a long time. They knew the world would keep spinning, even when they were no longer there to protect it, but one question was always in the back of their minds, who would keep saving people and hunting things?
They would. The wayward souls they brought together, the family they created. Those people they left behind; they would be the ones to carry on the family business. Winchester wasn't just a last name, it was a way of life, and these women had chosen it.

"I thought we had a date," Lexi states in mild irritation, looking at Dean, bringing them both back to the present situation.
"I was tied up," the green-eyed man responds, then gives her a smile, "I tried to tell that douchebag, he didn't listen."
The man who had been standing in front of the Winchesters tries to slip through the shadows, hoping to go unnoticed in the chaos, but his movement comes to an abrupt stop as he feels the blade of a sword at his neck.
"Don't think so pal," Evan whispers to him.
Jody's cutting Dean loose from the chair, while Donna is doing the same for his brother as Lexi approaches. Evan leads the werewolf in charge back over to where the Winchesters are as Lexi flips one of her daggers over in her hand to grasp it by the blade, offering the handle out as Sam and Dean both stand up.
"He's all yours," she says, and the brothers share a glance.
Sam gives his older brother a nod of approval and Dean takes the blade from Lexi's hand before approaching the werewolf with a malicious smile. Evan takes a step back, lowering the blade to his side as Dean grabs the man by the front of his shirt.
"We're not the only ones coming for you," the man snarls at him.
"Is that so?" Dean's voice is almost a growl, "Let 'em come." He says, then shoves the dagger into the man's heart before he releases his grip on him, allowing him to collapse to the floor.

"That's all of them," Jody states as Charlie and Alex come down from the second story catwalk.
"You called in the cavalry," Sam says with a grin, accepting the quick side hug from Claire.
"Bet your ass I did," Lexi responds, "so, what, monsters are rising up now? Banding together in like...factions...since Chuck brought them back and went all dark side?"
"I guess," Sam says with a shrug of shoulders, "we need to get the word out to the rest of the hunters."
"I'll start making some calls," Jody states.
"Me too," Charlie agrees.
"Let's get out of here," Donna suggests, nodding her head toward the door and everyone begins moving in that direction.
Dean flips the dagger in his hand, offering it handle first back to Lexi. When she reaches to take it, he pulls it away, just out of her grasp and she narrows her eyes at him, while everyone else leaves the two of them alone.
Jody and Donna are the last to exit the building, both sharing child-like smiles as they see their two friends, both filthy and bloody, standing in the middle of a warehouse full of dead monsters. To an outsider it would look like a scene from a horror movie, but to these two women it was a clip from their favorite love story.
"How'd you do that?" He questions her, "The trick with these knives."
The green-eyed man lowers his hand so she can reach the dagger again and she takes it from him saying, "One of the perks of being a monster I guess."
Dean tilts his head in disapproval at her comment, "You're not a monster."
"I think the verdict's still out on that," she replies, "depending on who you ask."
"I don't have to ask anyone," he replies with a smirk, "I think I know you pretty well."
"Think we should go?" She questions, "They're probably out there making bets on the 'will they, won't they' Dex pool as we speak."
"Dex?" he looks confused.
"Donna," she confirms, "it's our ship name."
He looks amused, "Well, your 'date' comment was only fuel to their fire."
"We did have date," she gives him an offended look, pointing a finger at him, "the season finale of Doctor Sexy is not something you miss."
He can't help but laugh as the girl turns to leave and he smiles as he says, "Hey Lex."
She stops and glances over her shoulder at him expectantly.
"Thanks," he says appreciatively, "for the rescue."
"Anytime," she smirks.
