If you’re still taking requests maybe Legend showing off his outfits from Triforce Heroes (if you consider that one of his games) or just the fierce deity outfit if that’s to much
Good grief! This one really took it away! I liked the prompt so much, and had so many ideas for it, that I think this might have to be a multi-parter (wasn't expecting that).
I touched on three outfits in this one, but I have six more I might do as well. For reference, I included the Kolkiri Clothes, Linebeck's Uniform and the Cozy Parka.
I also realized while writing this that this is the first time I've written from Wind's perspective, which is positively criminal!
I am still taking requests by the way! If you want to see something, shoot it at me!
(Fic below the cut)
It started so normal, Wind never thought it would get so insane.
They were in the Old Man’s Hyrule, too far from the ranch to make it by nightfall but close enough to still be in a relatively safe location. Time had called for them to set up camp and as they were close to a stream, Twilight had called for the additional order of baths.
Watching Twilight drag his protégé into the water was almost worth having to have his head scrubbed by Sky.
Most of them had taken the chance to cool off and mess around once they were clean, and while Warriors attempted to duck Time under the water (a mistake, they soon realized, when the man easily overpowered the captain, who ended up getting dunked instead) and Wild sat in a tree watching their backs (hanging up to dry, Twilight had joked), Wind found that the rest of them were content to swim idly in the water, with only the occasional splash from one or another of them. Usually, there would be more noise, but Twilight was teaching Hyrule to doggie paddle, and they needed calmer waters so as to not scare the Traveler.
He cast his eyes over their group. A red-faced Warriors was coughing and spluttering out insults at a smug looking Time (boy he needed his picto-box), Twilight was gently coaxing Hyrule to the other bank in a manner highly resemblant of a parent urging a baby to walk, Wild was keeping watch, and Sky was relaxing in the shallows.
Where were Four and Legend?
A glance upwards and a signed conversation with Wild later and Wind was making his way upstream a way, around a bend that blocked off most of the noise but that Wild could still see over if needed, to where Four and Legend sat together one the bank.
Or rather, Legend sat, Four was floating in the shallows with a curious expression as he watched the vet- cleaning clothes?
“We’re out here having a good time and you’re doing the laundry? Boring much.” He drawled, drawing the attention of the two heroes.
“I don’t like swimming around others.” Legend scrunched up his nose in disgust, it wiggled, almost cutely. “And my things needed a wash.”
He snorted, turning his questioning gaze to Four.
The smithy shrugged. “It’s quieter over here, and Wars will try and dunk me if he gets the chance.” A heavy sigh escaped the shortest hero. “He really needs to be taken down a notch some days.”
“Some days?” Legend snorted.
Wind just rolled his eyes. So, what if Wars had a bit of an ego and spent a lot of time messing with them? It was just the way the captain expressed himself, Wind would do the same if he could get away with it and had a few inches on the others.
A flash of color in the spring caught his attention, bright pink against the soft blue of the water, and he surged forwards. “What’s that?”
Legend’s hand hit his face as the vet reached out to push him back, effectively pushing the excited child under water, and for a brief moment, Wind could swear he saw a pink skirt drifting just before his face before it disappeared and he was popping up out of the water again with a splash.
“You have pink clothes?” He grinned at the bundle of fabric in the Vet’s hands.
“I have clothes in all colors.” Legend sniffed, batting another piece of fabric at him in a shooing motion.
“Doubt.” Four and Wind deadpanned. “Nobody has that much clothing.”
Legend’s face was drawn, eyes dark with that haunted look that Time sometimes got when looking at the moon. “I do.”
Wind and Four exchanged a look. “Why would you even need so much clothing?”
“Adventure number six.” Legend sighed, returning to his washing.
Another shared glance was exchanged and the two boys swam closer to the older teen. “And you used all of it?” Legend nodded. “All by yourself?”
The vet paused. “I had some...friends, with me.”
“You have friends?” Wind sat up again, who knew the Vet actually got along with people other than Ravio and Zelda?
“Ouch.”
“Yeah, Wind, that’s kinda mean.” Four murmured.
“I don’t mean you don’t have friends,” He huffed bangs from his eyes to look at Legend better, it did nothing, they still drifted into his view and cut off his view of the top of Legend’s hat. “I mean, we’ve never seen them so I didn’t realize you were on good terms with more people than Ravio.”
Legend shrugged. “You probably won’t ever meet them, I... became acquainted with them outside of Hyrule and they’ve never been seen leaving the land where we traveled together.”
“What were their names?” Four asked lazily, eyes trailing after leaves that floated off downstream towards where the others were.
Legend’s snort caught them off guard. “You don’t want to know.”
Now that was interesting, Legend never shied away from giving names to the people he had met in his travels, what was so different about these people? He’d had nothing against telling them Ravio’s name. “Why not?” Curiosity was tickling at his just like his hair was, and it was the only thing keeping him from ducking under again to relieve the itching of slowly-drying hair.
Legend cocked a brow at the two of them. “Their names are worse than ours.”
Now Wind really wanted to know! “What were they?”
Four echoed his question, eyes glinting in the light as he stared over at the vet, who was now beginning to pack away his things again. It took some nagging (something Wind had plenty of experience with) to finally get Legend to answer, but when he did, he didn’t disappoint.
“Red, Blue and Green. A set of nut cases if you ask me.” Legend drawled, not looking at them as he stuffed something glittery and gold in his bag. Four froze, eyes flashing four colors, one after another for a moment before he turned his sharp gaze on the vet.
“Did they call you Vio by any chance?”
Wind stared. “Why would they do that? He already has a name, he wouldn’t need to match, besides, Legend doesn’t even wear purple.”
“His eyes are purple.” Four pointed out, and Wind turned to very pointedly try and see what color Legend’s eyes actually were.
They were purple.
“No, they didn’t call me Vio,” Legend rolled his eyes, pushing Wind out of his face again. “They call me Link, same as any sane person does.”
“We’re sane.” Wind protested.
“Debatable.” The two older heroes deadpanned.
Wind pouted, but let it go, gaze drifting for a moment as he let silence fall over them. Four was staring at Legend in a suspicious manner, eyes blue again, but he didn’t say anything, and the vet didn’t seem keen on saying anything either, instead getting up and walking over to the clothes he had draped across one of the trees. He wasn’t kidding, it looked like a rainbow over there.
“So, if those things belonged to your friends, why do you have them?”
“Only one with a bottomless bag.” Came the clipped reply. “That and I’m the only one who’s likely to need them again.”
“Your friends don’t need clothes?” Four balked.
“No! Of course, they do!” Legend made a face, swatting a hand at Four. “Wild’s the only one who goes around naked, I’ll have you know, and if any of them had done the same they would have been shunned by the whole kingdom.” The vet huffed, voice dropping to a mutter. “What with the fashion laws and all.”
“So, if they already have clothes of their own, what did you need all for this for?” He gestured towards the various garments that Legend was still packing away.
“They’re all enchanted, or otherwise intended for special purposes.” The vet winced. “Hopefully I’ll never need most of them again, but there’s always the chance.”
“Will we ever get to see them?” He watched as Legend stuffed another garment into one of his bags many pockets.
“Hopefully never.” Legend spat.
But when did things ever go Legend’s way?
It was a hat first.
A battle in the forest ended with black blood spattered everywhere, but with Legend and Wild having provided support from the sidelines in the form of arrows flying across the battlefield, injuries were more scarce than normal.
Of course, that could be attributed to the fact that there had only been a few of the black-blooded monsters in the camp they had just destroyed.
As most of them had gathered their weapons and wiped away the blood, Wild had come leaping down from the treetops with Legend following after at a more sedate pace. Wind wondered if that was because of the Vet’s arthritis is because of the huge hat on his head.
“Nice accessories, do some shopping while we were down here fighting?” Wars snarked, huffing a laugh at the vet as Legend’s feet touched the earth again.
Indigo blue snapped at the captain as Legend adjusted the pointed cap. “No time for that when I have you all to keep an eye on.”
Twilight sniggered. “What’s with the hat, Ledge?”
“Yeah!” Wind bounded up to the older hero, eyes wide as he looked at the strange accessory. “Where did you get that?”
“Is that one of the things you got on your last adventure?” Four mused, sparking further excitement in the sailor, if it was, than maybe Legend would actually be willing to tell them more about it!
“Yeah, is it?”
No one addressed the confused stares of the taller heroes as their three shortest members conversed.
“Yeah,” Legend lifted the hat off and brushed at its brim in a clearly fond display; if he even attempted to say anything about hating his adventure again Wind was not going to believe him, not after that smile. “A Kolkiri hat, made to aid archers and help them shoot more arrows. I don’t usually use it, but it helps when you need to take out more than one enemy at once.”
“You could just learn to shoot better.” Wild chuckled, plucking at the hats brim only to have the garment whisked out of reach by a glaring veteran.
“I can shoot well; this just helps me see better because it blocks the freaking sun.”
“Kolkiri you say?” Time mused, stepping forwards to peer at the pointed green cap.
“Sure, you didn’t just steal it off of a witch?” Wars teased.
“No witch could replicate this sort of quality,” And if there wasn’t pride in his voice than Wind would eat his boots. “Not even the finest tailors in all of Hytopia could imitate it, and they’ve tried.” Legend spun the hat in his hands before popping it back on top of his head. “Don’t know the tailor, but what I wouldn’t give to learn their tricks. Kolkiri know what they’re doing, and they do it better than most Hylian craftsmen.”
Time was smirking, and Wind really wanted to know why. “You should see the tunics they can make.”
Legend returned the smirk. “Oh, I have, I own one.”
“As do I,” Their resident old man chuckles. “Although I doubt I could fit in it any longer.”
Wind giggles, trying to imagine Time in the clothes he’s seen on the spirits of the kolkiri, it’s hard, what with how big their leader is.
“Hat might fit you though.” And as the words ring through the air, Legend is already reaching up to pull the brim of his pointed hat over Time’s face. Their leader chuckles, brushing Legend off and adjusting the hat to sit more securely on his head.
Somehow, Time looks more comfortable in the hat than he does in his armor, and even though the two clash terribly, he doesn’t seem to mind, a light smile gracing his features as they set off again.
It’s a few days before Legend brings out another item from his collection of clothes, and when he does, it’s only after the others have drifted off to sleep. Wind would have been sleeping too, but you can only stay awake so long when your mind replays the horrors of the past, and Wind can only watch in silence for so long as giant ocean-monsters attempt to destroy those he loves the most. Tetra’s scream echoes in his own cracking voice as he startles awake.
The stars shine brightly overhead, brighter still as they blur from his tears. Despite what the others might say, or the confident way he tries to convey himself, Bellum frightens him, even now, and everything he had to deal with on that adventure... it weighs heavy on his mind.
A strangles sob escapes him as he sits up to bury his head in his knees, arms wrapped tight around his legs as he tries to shake of the after-effects of the dream.
That’s all it was, after all, just a dream.
Just like the Ocean King, like Lineback, like everything else in that world had been.
It’s just a dream.
“Hey,” Legend’s voice is soft and almost lost in his sobs and the crackling of the fire, but Wind is used to listening for even the softest of sounds in the night; be it due to Aryl having a night-terror –her own dreams aren’t free from their adventure- or someone sneaking around to make trouble. “Sailor, you all good?”
It’s clear he’s not, and he knows that, so Legend really has no business asking, but at the very least he isn’t being told to stop being a baby. “’m okay.” His own voice betrays him and Wind wants to sigh in irritation. Usually, he’d pout and groan at the way his voice cracks, but right now he doesn’t have the emotional or mental strength to do anything about it.
There’s shifting from across the camp, and even though his head is still pressed against his raised knees, he sees a flicker of golden pink in the firelight as Legend crouches down before him.
Thank Hylia the vet doesn’t sit back on his ankles, Wind doesn’t want to know if he’s not wearing shorts under that skirt of his.
“None of that now, what’s eating you?” It’s a weird term, especially coming from Legend, who’s usually so clipped and professional in his speech, and Wind can’t help but huff out a short laugh.
“Nothing,” His hand dashes across his eyes, wiping the tears away, only to have more of them prick at the corners. “Go back to watch, I’m fine.”
“And Twilight is a dog person.” Legend drawls. “Look, if you have an emotional moment or whatever, you’ll be tired as shit when we have to leave in the morning. I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel keen on dealing with another Sky.” It’s rough and gruff, but in a way that reminds him of Lineback rather than make him upset.
“I’m fine, just...” He dwells on his next words for a moment. He’s not scared, not really. It’s just the aftershock of a too-real dream about another too-real dream. He’s not really sad either, even if the island is gone now, he’s just... “I’m drained.” He whispers, scrubbing his eyes. “I miss everything back at home but,” He pauses, wondering briefly if Legend could even understand what he’s trying to express. “I guess I miss the things that aren’t there too.”
“Like what?” He doesn’t look up, but he knows the exact expression on Legend’s face; brow raised and mouth pulled into a thoughtful frown.
“Places... people. It’s all just dreams but..” He fiddles with the end of his blanket. “I miss the warmth of them I guess, miss the sea and the islands, even the fake ones, they were so... comforting.” He chuckles, surprising himself with the bitterness that tinges his own voice. “Even if I did spend so much of that time trying not to get killed.”
“Warmth, huh?” Legend hums. There’s a brief pause, one Wind almost takes for Legend rolling his eyes and deciding to leave him to his thoughts, but then there’s a brief rustling and something warm and thick settles over his shoulders as Legend sits at his side. “It’s no pirate uniform, but it still smells like the sea, if that helps at all.”
Wind wants to tease Legend for the sentimentality and love in the action, but when he turns to look at the Vet, his gaze falls instead on the royal blue coat that has been draped around his shoulders.
Too-long sleeves fall to fold at his waist while the rest of the long coat trails and puddles around him, rich, warm fabric blocking out the night chill. It’s a lovely coat, but it’s painfully familiar, and Wind finds himself running his fingers over the stitching and inspecting every detail with a precision that he only ever shows to his swordsmanship and sailing.
His eyes don’t fool him either, the coat is an exact copy of Lineback’s own.
“Where... where did you get this?”
“Like it?” The vet chuckles softly. “Hytopian tailors. It’s a sea-coat, made to aid traveling sailor’s in searching for treasure. Don't ask me how it works though,” A ringed hand waves lazily overhead. “I could never make sense of it all. What matters is that it’s warm, not even the ocean can chill you in that thing, and trust me,” Buck teeth and small canines shouldn’t look so chilling, but Legend’s smile is just that. “It’s tried.”
Wind decides not to push it. There’s no way Legend could know about Lineback, not with the gaps of time and timelines between them. So, instead, he nestles down into the coat, one which bears the promised scent of the sea, with just a hint of smoke and rum to it, and lets his mind drift off again while Legend hums something under his breath.
The vet doesn’t realize he’s humming any less than he realizes Wind is slumping into him, but by the time he does recognize it, Wind is out cold, his head pressed against Legend’s shoulder, the coat still draped over him as he snores softly. Legend doesn’t push down the warmth in his chest as he smiles down at the golden curls, no one will see him anyway. Gnarled fingers decked out with countless rings card through sun-bleached curls as a lilting melody pierces the silence around them, no one will hear it anyway.
In the days to come, Legend allows Wind to don the heavy sea-coat from that night. Warriors makes a comment about poor coordination between fabrics, and while Legend doesn’t seem to disagree, both of the older heroes seem of the opinion that it's for the best he holds onto it, what with the cold and all.
The last switch landed them in the mountains, and while the Hyrule they are in has not yet been confirmed, everyone knows one thing for sure: it’s cold. Wind buries his face in the raised collar of the heavy sea-coat, which, despite being in Legend’s bag for so long and the vet refusing to smoke or sail, much less swig rum, the coat smells of all three, and Wind buries a smile at the thought that maybe Legend didn’t get it new like he’d let on.
It does a good job of keeping him warm though.
He wishes he could say the same for Four.
The poor smithy refuses to be carried, but as snow whips around them as they trek through the knee-high snow, the diminutive smith is left chattering and shivering in their wake.
It really shouldn’t be a surprise that Legend has something to help with that.
Yes, the vet still isn’t wearing pants, but he doesn’t seem too poorly off, no matter how badly the others shiver. He and Wild only share a look and scoff when Warriors asks through chattering teeth how the two of them aren’t freezing.
“You should see the mountains in my Hyrule.” Wild chuckles brightly.
“Done this before, cold is cold, you get used to it.” Legend grins, swinging his fire-rod.
“N-not all of us c-can s-st-stand the c-c-cold.” Four chatters grumpily, sounding startlingly close to the minish he’s shown Wind in the past. “Jer-jerks.”
The concern on the faces of the taller heroes is obvious, but with Twilight’s teeth chattering nearly madly (the rancher's nose is somehow frozen) and Time wrapped as tight as possible in one of Wild’s extra cloaks, it’s clear most of the others don’t have warm things to spare.
They were separated in landing in this world, and even when they had all been pulling themselves together again it had become clear that there was nothing of Wild’s that could even fit the smithy, and not even the blue scarf that trails over his shoulders seems to be doing much good against the freezing winds.
“Hang on a sec.” legend huffs, already turning to rustle through his bag. The coat he pulls out is ridiculously plushy, and in a soft shade of violet that makes Four chuckle past his chattering teeth. The chattering doesn’t last for much longer though, not when shoves the garment over Four’s head like Wind has done to his sister so many times with the sweaters Granny has knit them. The smithy’s blond hair is mused beyond recognition, chunky and flying every which way as he pushes his face out of the plush, but the healthy flush to his cheeks assures the rest of them that he won’t be freezing any time soon.
“I- Oh...” Whatever Four was about to say cuts off as he looks down at himself. The coat is long, but not too long. Where Wild’s shirts would drown the smithy, a coat made for Legend only brushes against the smithy’s ankles.
Legend smirks. “It prevents slipping too.”
“Why aren’t you wearing it then?” Hyrule questions, the Traveler’s cheeks are rosy in the cold, but borrowed clothes from Wild, while also too big, seem to be keeping him warmer.
Legend winces. “It’s a pain to get off.”
“And inconvenience is enough reason to freeze?”
“Do I look cold to you, captain?” Legend snarks, turning an expectant look on Warriors. “Because I certainly don’t feel it.”
“Stop rubbing it in.” The captain huffs, unfortunately too big to borrow from the others, and now highly irritable from the cold. His scarf is still on Four, and if what Legend says is right about the coat, Wars won’t be getting it back for a while, leaving the poor captain to shiver as he clings to another fire-rod.
Four seems comfy enough anyway.

Amphibia: Night Drivers/Return to Wartwood Review “Many Happy Returns”
Tumblr media
Hello you happy people. And Amphibia is back and that means my reviews are back! As for why this reviews a bit late despite it leaking, I wanted to wait for today, and long story short both focused on finishing a review that WASN’T time senstive, instead of finishing it Sunday, and overestimated how much time i’d have to do two reviews on a day that included my first covid shot, grocery shopping, helping mom clean the car, and my friend coming over to watch Judas and the Black Messiah. Excellent film by hte way, as was the Sound of Metal which we watched after. Point is I done goofed and I will try to at the very least actually get the reviews of the episodes out on the same day they come out.
But slip up or not i’m happy to be back in the saddle, and back to Wartwood. I’m pumped for the heavier second half, with more secrets to uncover, some zelda style temple action, and some heavy drama with just a whiff of keith david, as well as to see the supporting cast from Wartwood again after far too long. So how’d the mid-season premire pair fair? Join me under the cut to find out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Night Drivers: I was really excited by the Road Trip idea when first announced for season 2. A chance to expand the world and get the plantars out of their comfort zone was an amazing concept and it did lead to some really great stories and interesting locales.. mixed with episodes that had interesting locations but no interesting plot or character stuff. It was a mixed bag, and disappointing after close to a year’s wait to continue the plot that it really didn’t outside of “Toadcatcher”. Anne never really dealt with her trauma and the show never dealt with hop pop’s poularity or anything else. Again there were GOOD episodes and ideas but it felt like the show stalled for a good chunk of the season till we got to Netwopia which while still having tons of slice of life stuff felt a lot fresher with it, and had a lot more fun playing with stock plots and gave us a fresh new setting to dig into.
So I was a bit hesitant to go back to the road for an episode.. even if it was just one episode. Thankfully I was very wrong there as Night Drivers was a pretty good episode and would fit well among the best of the road trip arc like “Truck Stop Polly” “Fort in the Road” “Anne Hunter” “Toadcatcher” and “Wax Museum”.
The plot is straightforward: Sprig and Polly are excited that their almost home to wartwood and if Anne and Hop Pop drive all night they’ll be there by morning. Polly will get pillbug pancakes and Sprig will see Ivy again. This is part of a long tradtion of “skiping over the journey home because we’re tired and we wanna go home” in fiction. Jokes aside it’s a resonable device used to prevent ending fatigue and in this case to free up episodes for the second half. We already saw the journey once, we usually don’t need to see it again. To Amphibia’s credit they have valid reasons for it: The journey is LITERALLY sped up, as Hop Pop and Anne have been driving for 20 hours straight.. and their on a timer. As was established last time.. well the last time that wasn’t a spooky halloween episode, The Plantars have to get back for the harvest and really don’t have time to sightsee, while they all have to be there for whenever Marcy comes back to take Anne to the first temple. They’ve also traveled these roads before so while their going a whole other directoin, they know what perils to avoid.
But as anyone whose taken a long cartrip can tell you, you can’t shotgun it forever and the two eventually tap out with Hop Pop telling Sprig and Polly not to night drive as it’s dangerous and blah blah blah standard parental warning that will be swiftly ignored. So once Hop Pop and Anne are conked out they swiftly ignore it after we get their dreams.. which are the best gags of the episode: Hop Pop has a dream with weird, really cool looking monsters that represent his faults, only for it to turn Lucid and him to start flying and take his shirt off and whip it around Muscle Man style.
Tumblr media
While Anne’s is about a yogurt world where there’s only one flavor... BLACK LICORICE. Yeah it quickly turns from Shopkins to the Lich From Adventure Time really fucking quick.
So while Anne has a nightmare and Hop Pop becomes unto a god, Sprig and Polly drive all night, repreadtly running into a creepy hitchiker and realizing it is as dangerous as they said with bolders, even worse creatures than usual because of course theye’d be a lot of nasty things lurk in the dark why wouldn’t they on froggy death world, a nightmarish fog and nearly dying on said foggy road they took to evade the hitchiker. Naturally the scary hook handed hitchiker.. is a friendly one, simply trying to help them and saving them from going over a cliff. They do make it three miles from Wartwood and Hop Pop wakes up angry to find they disobeyed him.. but Anne gets him to back off as they clearly learned their lesson from the sleep deprviation and nearly dying, and our heroes head for home.
Night Drivers isn’t an exceptional episode, but it is decent and still does belong with the other good road trip episodes, with some good dream sequences and a nice dynamic between Sprig and Polly. It was nice to have an episode with the two that was good unlike Quarallers Pass which made me want to run full speed into my nearest wall until I was given the sweet gift of unconciousness. While the Hook Handed man thing was a bit obvious it lead to some great gags. It’s a nice breather after the tearjerking mid-season finale and while we’ve obviously had months and a haloween episode between that, the creators rightfully realized a lot of people will be binging the series in the future. The issue I had with the first quarter of the season was it was ALL break and only a little plot progression. Here we’ve had a lot of plot progression in the last episode chronlogically, and are going to have a lot in the coming episodes with ‘After the Rain” coming next week. It’s nice to take a break and see the forest for the hook handed ghosts.
Tumblr media
Return to Wartwood: I was excited and terrified of this one. I was excited because I missed the supporting cast from season one, mostly Ivy and Maddie, and was delighted to see them again in full. But I was also worried the show might pull out a melancholy breakup plot and having gotten attached to Ivy/Sprig and Hop Pop/Sylvia I was worried. And I was delightfully wrong as instead it’s another breather episode and an utterly fantastic one after the simply decent one above.
Our heroes return, without being drawn by rob liefield or replaced by the Squadron Supreme first, and are happily greeted by the town. Aformentoined fears died a happy death as Sylvia squeezes Hop Pop and as for Sprig, Ivy unsuprisingly ambushes him. Everyone’s back and the Mayor, who I also badly missed is back using Toadie as a gong to get everyone back to buisness, with Swampy inviting them for a big dinner at his diner that night to celebrate and welcome them back.. and to give out their gifts.
Tumblr media
Sprig and Anne are equally confused while Polly and Hop Pop are sweating bullets. Turns out when they got the Fwagon they agreed to get a bunch of stuff for the town and forgot and now everyone’s on the hook for it and want to lie their butts off to solve it. In a nice show of character development, Anne has learned that the lying never solves anything “I think we’ve learned that lesson by now”. After SO many plots of the characters lying and it going terribly, it’s nice to have someone speak up. Sprig also wants to lie but only becuase he’s deeply afraid Ivy will break up with him as she wanted a Red Sun shell to go with the blue moon shell she gave him. Awwww. And oh crap.
So our heroes head home to plan and kick Chuck out (“I grew tulips”). So they do the natural thing... and decide to summon an edltich beast from the necronomicon... which of course Maddie gave Sprig as a present (”Aww that’s nice”. Agreed Polly, agreed.). I also can’t help but love the line “We’re all cull with practicing the dark arts to solve our problem right?” So our heroes get the proper summoning horn, thing to go with the horn and some candles.. i’ts not part of the ritual but Anne says it helps with ambience and it’s right.
So our heroes summon the Chikalisk, an edltich god that’s naturally basalisk in all but name, which dosen’t attack unless attacked and goes after gold. So they fake some golden presents, and the beast attacks at the party.. but the town naturally fights back, and our heroes are forced to help fight the monster as it stonifies people. So we get a truly glorious battle sequences as the whole town shows off how badass they are, with Maddie curing people, Sylvia showing she can keep up with Hop Pop and Ivy showing her already established badass bonafieds. It’s just awesome. Also the Mayor uses Toadie as a shield not realizing he’s turned to stone which can only remind me of this.
Tumblr media
Once the townsfolk are freed they get into Chickalisk formation (”We have a formation for that?” “We have a formation for everything!”) And it’s offended enough to just nope out. The townsfolk are depressed though the presents got destroyed and Anne glares the family into coming clean. And while the mayor seems mad at first... he just laughs with everyone taking it in stride: It was boring without them getting into trouble and learning lessons every week, and they missed them.  Ivy likewise dosen’t care about a gift she just missed her boyfriend.. and asks Sprig to take her on a proper date and smooches him on the cheek leaving both him and Anne catatonic, with Polly dragging Anne away and sprig just falling over before Maddie hits him with the potion. It dosen’t work that way, end episode.
Return To Wartwood was a standout episode, with tons of great jokes, pacing and a nice plot that showed growth in anne. While Night Drivers was decent, this was the show at it’s : Sweet, deranged and adventurous all in one episode. While Night Drivers was a good appitizer this was one hell of an entree. Or an appetizer sampler which I often use as an entree. Great episode and a nice high note to start on.
Next Time: We get an Ivy focused episode!
Tumblr media
And Hop Pop is finally forced to own up to his lies!

Caliban x Cheerleader | 2
Tumblr media
Notes: A little adult-y at the end but that’s about it. Yes, part 3 is already started. That’s if you like part 2. I tried not to rush it but some parts aren’t as detailed as I wanted. There’s pictures included because I love visuals. x
Part 1

Zelda brushed her hands on her skirt, cleaning them of any sweat that may have gathered during their quick meeting, “Stamattina, prima dell'alba, cancella i ricordi delle ultime notti, dalla mente di tutti.” Her hands pointed forwards towards Greendale and a gush of air hit the three witches to signal it had worked.
Ambrose had gathered Addy’s mother’s body and Caliban had volunteered to banish her father to Hell. All that Greendale would know is that Addy’s father never moved to Greendale and her mother passed of heart issues. She was buried in a local cemetery with a beautiful ceremony, Addy helping Sabrina lead her mother to Heaven with a few final words.
Then it came time. Time to tell Addy of her family lineage and test her blood to see what she was.
“It’s a simple cut, fill the vile, Sabrina will heal you and we will know once Hilda mixes the potion.” Zelda slid the knife across the table to Addy, who grabbed it with shaky hands.
Sabrina sat next to her, “It will only hurt for a second, once it’s full you’ll be healed, I promise.”
“Why do I have to do it myself? Can’t someone else do it while I’m not looking?”
“The subject does it themselves so there’s not chance of enchantment on the blood spilling into the vile.” Zelda explained, “We haven’t much time dear, we need to find out so we know what to do.”
Caliban stood behind Addy, his hands on her shoulders, “Brina is right here to fix it, you can do it Addyson.”
The knife was millimeters from her hand and she froze, breaking down in tears, “I can’t get myself to do it. I want to, but I can’t.”
“I’ll do it with you.” Caliban offered, grabbing a knife off of the countertop behind him, “I’ll cut my hand and fill a vile, she can heal you and then me.”
“Yeah, you can do it together on the count of three.” Sabrina suggested, “Do you want me to count?” Addy took a deep breath and nodded, gripping the knife tighter, “On three… one..”
She looked over at Caliban, who held a knife to his hand as well, “Two….”
She looked up at Zelda and Hilda who stood with two empty viles, ready to catch their blood.
“Three..”
Without thinking Addy sliced her hand open, shrieking at the pain, clenching her eyes closed as Zelda guided her hand over the vile until it was full. She heard Sabrina talking, “Guarisci questa ferita, elimina la cicatrice, rendilo com'era prima.”
She went from pain to her hand feeling tight and with no thought she pulled it into a fist. It was completely healed.
Sabrina held her hands over Caliban and his cut seemed to mend itself back together as Addy watched.
“In a few hours we will check the color of the brew, it will let us know.” Hilda smiled, walking towards the kitchen.
Hours later and Hilda was on the hunt for Sabrina, astral projecting herself to Dorian’s where Sabrina sat with Nick at the bar. “I need you back at the house immediately, this is not going as we thought.”
“Is Addy ok—
“Ms. Addy is fine, but Caliban is.. just… just come back.” She disappeared, leaving Sabrina and Nick confused.
“Do you want to come back for the reveal?” She joked, laughing with Nick, “It’s  like a mortal gender reveal, boy or girl? Witch or mortal?”
They appeared in Sabrina’s room and made their way downstairs, checking on the guest bedroom that had become Addy’s to see if she was still asleep. And there she was, tucked in front of Caliban, his arms wrapped around her, “Is it done?” he asked, eyes wide open, not even the slightest thought of sleeping.
“Not sure. I’ll come get you when it is.” She smiled, quietly closing the door. “So Caliban cut himself with Addy so she wasn’t afraid, Hilda must have went ahead and tested his blood..” She whispered to Nick as they walked down the stairs.
Hilda sat at the table with two viles in front of her, her eyes were glossed over as she kept looking at them back and forth. “Sabrina go get your Aunt Zelda.”
“I’m right here, Hilda, what’s the matter?”
“This is Ms. Addyson’s…” She pointed to the left, “This is Caliban’s.”
None of the others understood the layers of colors that sat in the viles. Addy’s was a vibrant green at the bottom half and a dark blue at the top, Caliban’s was the same green at the bottom but a light orange on the top quarter of it.
“Orange is demon, blue is mortal, green is witch or warlock.”
They all went silent looking at Caliban’s green and orange vile, “So Caliban is..”
Hilda glanced up the stairs to check the door was still closed and leaned closer to the group, “He’s part warlock.”
Ambrose ran to his room, digging for books he then scattered on the table downstairs. After a few minutes holding onto Caliban’s vile of blood he was led to a certain page of a certain book, pointing to a name.
“Sycorax, the ‘blue-eyed hag’, a witch from the 16th century, she was impregnated with a baby by their coven’s worst enemy, who was a demon and she was being banished from her Algeria coven because she would get rid of it.” Ambrose trailed off, muttering words to himself, “She ran for a while before being found. They took her back to the coven and killed her for keeping the demon-child. Before they got to her she made a deal with another demon to watch over Caliban until he was older.”
“That is preposterous.” Zelda snapped, “A witch having a demon’s baby?”
“That’s good though, we can welcome Caliban into the coven, have him on our side, with our rule, he’d be the same as us.” Sabrina got excited at the possibilities, “And Addy can have a Dark Baptism to join our coven under Hecate and go to The Academy—
“Even if Caliban does join the coven, he’s still part demon, we can never rid of him of those powers.” Zelda explained, “I don’t know how I feel about a part-demon being inside of our coven.”
“He practically already is.”
“But what is his intention?”
“He wanted to take over the throne in Hell until he met the girl, now he is one hundred percent focused on her.” Nick chimed in, “I didn’t know the guy had actual emotions but I think he laughed with her the other day.”
“He’s smart, we can make him a teacher at The Academy.” Sabrina said, “Who else could teach Demonology better than an actual demon?”
Nick slowly put his hand in the air and Ambrose agreed, “I’m with Nicholas on this one, he shouldn’t be teaching Demonology, he could hide secrets that hurt our coven in the future.”
Their arguing, agreeing and whispering downstairs was interrupted by a scream from upstairs.
“Addy! Addy! Are you okay?” Sabrina was first up the stairs, followed by everyone else. “Caliban, what’s going on?”
“Lasciarla sola, non in questa casa!” Caliban yelled, directly into Addy’s eyes. “Lasciarla sola, non in questa casa!” He repeated, holding her hands away from hitting him, “Tarak ‘ahlamuha wahdaha, la talus Biealzubul aleizam!”
Addy’s body collapsed and he caught her, trying to catch his own breath at the same time. Sabrina ran and laid Addy back on the bed, “Caliban, what happened? What did you just say?”
“She was asleep.” He pushed his hair back, looking down at the now peaceful, girl. “She began having a nightmare, she was moving and talking and I… dream walked in her dream and she was being attacked by Beelzebub, he was trying to take over her body.”
“Beelzebub?!” They all exclaimed, “He kept telling me he wanted to help me dethrone Sabrina, he wanted to take over Addyson’s body in secret but… I-I…”
“You used a demon spell against a demon, banishing him from her dreams.” Zelda said. “You didn’t even realize you could do it.”
“No.. I.. I don’t even know what I said.” He shook his head.
“If my translating is correct, it’s a little rusty, but I think it was something of leaving her dreams alone and stop touching her.” Ambrose guessed, “Arabic.”
“I speak Arabic?” Caliban asked, “I.. I don’t even—
“Come down stairs, Caliban. We’ve got a lot to tell you.” Zelda left the room, the others following behind.
“I’m going to put an enchantment on her, she will be completely safe.” Sabrina helped Caliban up and put her hands over Addy, “Dormire in pace, null put svegliarsi, null put superare.”
Now that Caliban was sat around the table Ambrose began to explain to him his history. His mother, her coven, her secrets, “It’s why you don’t remember your past, she didn’t want you to remember the fighting of her coven and the banishment and her death.”
“But she did it all for you.” Hilda grabbed his hands, “She left her coven, went on her own, so she could have you.”
Caliban sat in silence, looking at the scribblings in Ambrose’s book. “It’s why you’re fine in Hell or any other realm. It’s why you randomly spoke Arabic when you needed to. You have a lot to learn, probably more powers from a warlock stand point, a lot of decisions to make.”
“But Addyson…”
“She’s another Sabrina, part witch, part mortal.”
“How… how do I tell her… how do I tell her I’m.. a demon? Part demon?” He looked up at Hilda, desperate for answers. “What if she—
“Don’t think ahead, let’s just see what happens.” Ambrose pat his back, “If Addy is anything like I think she is, she’ll be accepting. But this is all new to her, so it’ll be a shock.”
Sabrina excused herself and went to get Addy, taking her a glass of water, chatting with her and quickly braiding her hair before taking her downstairs.
Caliban stood up and pulled his chair out for her. Without a word she sat next to Hilda and Sabrina took the chair next to her.
“Well, Ms. Addyson, we’ve got some news for you.” Hilda smiled, “Your father’s family is still in your DNA, you’re half witch, half mortal. Just like Sabrina.”
“So I… I’m a witch?”
“Yep, welcome!” Hilda giggled, “You’ve got a lot of decisions to make soon but for now, we’re going to leave it at that. Half and half.”
“Ask all questions you want, I’m an open book.” Sabrina said, “We’re the only two like us.”
She forgot about Caliban behind her and jumped as he put his hand on her shoulder. “I’ve got something to tell you.”
“Caliban’s also a… mixed… breed..” Hilda cringed at her own wording and excused herself from the room.
“You’re not a witch.. warlock?”
He took Hilda’s chair and turned Addy to face him. He rest his hands on her knees, “When I cut my hand with you, Hilda went ahead and mixed my own vile and I found out.. I found out my mother was a witch.”
Addy smiled at him, pushing his hair from his face, “So you’re a warlock.”
“And a demon.”
Addy’s smile fell, her hand froze mid-air, “A..a.. what does—“
“He’s half witch and half demon.” Sabrina said, “He’s just found out, we’ve all just found out.”
Addy sat up in her chair, looking back at Caliban, he could see the fear in her eyes, “Aren’t demons bad?”
“Most are, yes, but Addyson there is no way I could ever hurt you. Please trust me.” He grabbed her hands, “You are.. I would never even consider it.”
“And as the current Queen of Hell…” Sabrina muttered behind her, “If he does, he has to deal with me.”
“Queen of Hell?” Addy asked, turning her head around, “You’re… Queen of Hell?”
“It’s a long story, I promise I’ll tell you about it. My dad is Lucifer and my mom was a mortal, I was raised by my Aunties and since the throne is passed down in families I was next in line.”
“She’s fine, she’s good. Sabrina’s a good Queen, nothing bad will happen to you.” Caliban assured her, “I will never let anything happen to you.” He kissed the top of her hands.
“I’m going to go help my Aunt Zelda with a few things, I’m going to leave you here.” Sabrina pushed her chair in and smiled at them both.
Holding hands Caliban and Addy walked around the Spellman’s backyard, barely talking. She saw their cemetery in the distance, reminding her of her family, “I can’t believe my parents are gone. I haven’t even cried or anything.”
“Zelda did an emotion control spell on you so you wouldn’t. They wanted you to focus on what’s happening now and your future. You have to find a familiar, think about a Dark Baptism, join the coven, think about The Academy, learn spells—
“Stop.”
“You have the best teachers and coven, they have done.. a lot. They’re powerful.” He spun her to face him, resting his hands on her cheeks, “You’re going to be fine. Everything will be okay.”
“What about you?”
“I have a lot to learn as well. But I’m happy..” He smiled, “Demon and witch relationships are extremely frowned upon in this realm.”
“Relationships?” Addy giggled, “But warlock and witch relationships are fine?”
“Nick and Sabrina, Prudence and Ambrose, need I say more?”
“But what’s the rule on half witch, half mortal and half demon, half witch?”
“It’s a first.” He bit onto his lip, watching her face blush and her eyes look into his, “We can make them up as we go.”
“Thank you, Caliban.” She whispered, “For everything.”
“No thanking me.”
“You saved my life… multiple times.” Her hands fell onto his sides, gripping onto the shirt he wore, “I think that justifies a thank you.”
“Just kiss me, Addyson.” He gently led her face closer to his, watching her eyes close before their lips met.
It was pure euphoria. Every cell in her body tingled as she pulled herself closer to him. She pulled back out of breath and he kissed her forehead before pulling her close to him, her face dug into his chest. “You’re welcome.”
And for the first time, she felt safe. She had no clue how to work her own powers but she fully knew Caliban would do anything to protect her.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
“Agatha, stop following me.” Caliban demanded, for the fourth time that day. “I’m not going to see her, I’m not astral projecting to see her, I’m keeping away.”
“Prudence told me to watch you all day, so that’s what I’ll do.”
“I just want to be alone before we go to the woods.” Agatha shook her head no, pacing back and forth in front of the doorway to Ambrose’s room that Caliban had been stuck in all morning.
“Have you ever been to a Dark Baptism?” He shook his head, “It’s beautiful. A little gory when it comes to the sacrifice, but beautiful. Addy is about to become a full witch, part of our coven, it’s such an important time in a young witches life. I remember every detail of mine, the dress—
“I don’t care, Agatha.”
“I mean it’s your Dark Baptism too. Your welcome to the world of witches and warlocks. You both will—
“Agatha, please stop talking.”
“Fine. Blackwood would never have let a half-breed like you have a Baptism anyway.”
“Well then it’s a good thing that I run the coven now, isn’t it?” Zelda stepped in the room and Agatha’s face blushed in embarrassment. “Agatha, go help your sisters and Sabrina get Addyson ready.”
“But Prudence said—
“Agatha.” She pointed to the door and Agatha left. “Nicholas and Ambrose have gathered a black suit for you to wear, they’re on their way back now.”
“If you would have asked, I could have told you I have a black suit.” He whisked is hand from the floor to his face and a black suit appeared on him. It was perfectly Caliban with a few studded and belted features. “Can I see Addyson now?”
“The girls will bring her downstairs when we are ready to leave. You can… wait down there with Hilda.”
As much as he wanted to sneak a peek into Sabrina’s room as he walked by, he didn’t. He sat in silence while Hilda read a book, trying to be patient.
Addy had soaked in the bath with the traditional mix: milk, egg, rosemary, agrimony, vanilla, John the Conquerer root, tans and other herbs. She dried herself off with a decorative towel and Prudence did her makeup while she sat in a gold robe.
Dorcas did her makeup, the ingredients filled with herbs and potions from Hilda’s garden. “There’s something relaxing about a makeover.”
“It’s the transformation before the transformation.” Sabrina said, painting a dark red color on Addy’s nails, “It does feel like a wedding day though. Keeping you both separate, getting you in a fancy dress and all fixed up.”
“All while Caliban simply changes his clothes and is ready.” Prudence laughed, “I can’t wait to see his reaction to you in your dress and all done up.”
“Addyson, you look beautiful.” Sabrina tried to mock his accent, making them all laugh. “Ravishing, fabulous, perfect.”
“Thanks guys. For all of this. For everything.” Addy smiled, “I would have been so confused doing this on my own.”
“That’s what a coven is for. We’re a family.” Sabrina assured her.
Minutes that seemed like hours later and The Weird Sisters came down the stairs, Sabrina following and Addy after her. The whole house stood and looked at her.
Her blonde hair in a loose halo braid, her eyes smoked out, her lips colored the darkest shade of burgundy and the dress fit her perfectly. The flowing material followed her down the stair case as each witch she passed put a necklace on her, covering up the skin showing at the cleavage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Addy looked down at the six necklaces, all with different charms for different meanings. She looked up and saw Caliban at the end of the line, his hand stuck out towards her, “You look gorgeous, love.”
The feeling of chills going up her spine took over her body just as it had done the first time she met him. Without a thought she pulled herself up by his shoulder to kiss him. “You’re welcome.” He smiled, leading her out the front door.
As they entered the woods Addy’s familiar that had chosen her, a black owl, hovered on a tree near her. Below the owl was a small fox, the familiar that had found Caliban in the woods the day before.
Candles seemed to take over the woods as witches and warlocks gathered in a circle around them.
Zelda held a book and stood before them, “We are gathered here together, in these woods, in the presence of our coven, all of the souls living and dead. The most unholy order of Hecate which teaches us there is no law beyond. Do what thou, wilt.”
In unison the crowd spoke and Addy squeezed Caliban’s hand, “Covina noster novus hospitio.”
“With our coven to witness, we hail Addyson Faye Camelli, descendant of the Camelli family and Caliban, son of the strong and honest witch, Sycorax to the Order of Hecate.”
The coven spoke again, raising candles into the air, “Hecate, vigila semper nostri seculi finem. Tum observabimus animarum interitum.”
Sabrina approached with a bowl of blood and Zelda’s them dipped into it. Caliban and Addy knelt before her as she drew crosses on their foreheads, mumbling lines to herself.
Animal sacrifices, herb spreading, candle lighting, more incantations, the sacred signing of the book and a time for each witch, if they wanted, to say something to the new members of their coven.
Sabrina stepped forward at the end, placing her hands on Addy’s head and moving her lips as she secretly spoke an incantation to her.
Addy’s body felt like a shock went through it and she held onto Sabrina to stay up, “What.. what did you do?”
“I’ll tell you later.” She smiled and winked.
“And with that, we conclude this Dark Baptism of Addyson Faye Camille and Caliban. They are welcome to our coven with open arms, open souls and watching eyes.”
And a gust of wind went by, blowing every candle out in the woods. Leaving them all in the dark to wander home or wherever they wanted.
Addy and Caliban were last to leave, slowly walking hand in hand towards the Spellman house. “I don’t feel any different.” She complained, looking at her hands and body, “I thought I would feel different.”
“You don’t know any incantations or spells, that’s the key.” He laughed and flicked his hand at his clothes, changing into jeans and a t-shirt right in front of her.
“Rimuovere.” She pointed at his shirt and spit out a word she didn’t even know she could pronounce and Caliban’s shirt was off and on the ground at their feet. A smile grew on her face as she looked up at him and pointed, “I can do a lot—
“Addy! Calib— oh, sorry if I’m… interrupting.” Sabrina cringed, “I forgot to tell you I did a knowledge transference spell on you. Everything I know, you now know. Just think and use the spell that comes to mind.”
“Now you’ve made her dangerous, Brina.” Caliban laughed, pointing at his shirt on the ground.
“I’ll let you deal with that.” She waved, disappearing from where she stood.
“There are so many spells going through my mind right now.”
“Portaci in profondita. Dove dormo.” Caliban grabbed her hand and they appeared in a dark room, lit only by a few candles on the walls. “Since you’re a witch now, welcome to Hell.”
“This is… a bedroom.”
“Oh, she’s a smart witch.” He laughed, grabbing her waist, “Have I told you that you look beautiful today?”
She wrapped her hands around his neck, “About a hundred times. But I’m not tired of it.”
“I expected you to look good in your Dark Baptism dress. But you came down the stairs and.. you.. you looked.. hot.” She hid her face in his chest, “The see through part on the bottom? The cut-out sleeves?” He trailed his finger down her chest, over the stack of necklaces, “This part…”
Addy giggled, grabbing his hand, “Did you want me to be bothered all day?”
“It wasn’t my first thought, but it did cross my mind while trying dresses on.” She bit on her lip, “Prudence even asked me what you’d think. I said you’d like it. She said you’d have it on the floor in seconds.”
“Prudence knows me well somehow.” He shrugged, searching his hands around her back to find the zipper.
Addy winced in pain, grabbing her hand and looking. It felt like a constant scratch as letters appeared:
~Spellman house by midnight. -S~
She read it and watched it disappear, “What is that?”
“Enchanted pen. Sabrina writes on her hand it shows up on yours.” He pushed her hands down, “Midnight means we’ve still got a few hours here.”
“You never actually explained where we are.”
“My living quarters.” He pushed her dress down and it fell to the floor, “In Hell.”
She stood before him in a matching set of lingerie, all black, all lace. Her backside showing just the perfect amount as he took her finger and spun her around. “What do ya think?”
Tumblr media
“I can’t think.” He grabbed her waist and pulled her closer, pushing her hair back and holding onto her chin.
Before he could even get his lips on her there was a knock at his door. One wave of his hand and it opened, Beelzebub was standing there alone.
At just the sight of him, Addy tensed up and grabbed onto Caliban. “What do you want?”
“To meet the Misses.” He bowed.
“As if you haven’t known who she is.” Caliban held onto Addy, who was standing in just her undergarments. Not just any undergarments but the ones Prudence made her put on ‘just in case’. “You leave her alone. Never touch her.”
Without taking a step Beelzebub appeared right next to them, his finger trailing down Addy’s bare arm. Her fingers dug into Caliban’s sides, definitely leaving marks. “How do you expect me to ignore such a…. specimen.” His eyes scanned her whole body which was now shaking. “Our Prince of Hell brings a witch back and we don’t even get a chance?”
He appeared on the other side of them, “I just need a few minutes with the beaut and you can have—
Caliban grabbed his hand that was about to touch Addy again, “You know my power. And I’m not afraid to use it on you.” He pushed Addy behind him and stood chest to chest with Beelzebub. “If you do so much as enter her dream or even have a thought about her, I’ll know and I’ll banish you from Hell myself.”
A quick move of his hand and Caliban had pushed Beelzebub from his room and into the hallway. He tried to run back in but the door slammed and locked.
Caliban was filled with rage, his fists were tightly locked as he took a deep breath. “Addyson I’m sorry about him.” He immediately relaxed when her hands touched his skin, sliding around his sides and to the front of him. “He will never get to you.” She kissed his back and his hands grabbed onto hers, “He’s useless.”
“Prince of Hell?” She questioned, whispering into his neck, “That’s a sexy title.”
Caliban turned around to see her smiling, “Protecting me from him..” She grabbed his hand and slowly walked towards the huge bed at the back of the room. Black sheets, black pillows, black candles; she pushed him to sit down, “That was … so hot…”
He shook his head at her antics, “Rimuovere.” She repeated again and laughed, pointing at his pants that fell to the floor.
He pulled on the string of her bottoms until she moved forward and straddled his lap, “If you use that one more time, I’ll have to start using it on you.”
“No need to use it if I’m willing.”
“You’ve become quite confident since you’ve known you’re a witch.” He groaned and flipped her over so he was on top of her, “But it’s easier to tease you.. when you have them on..” His hair tickled her neck as he left a row of bites down her collar bone, “More surprises.” He kissed the middle of her chest, “For me.” He left a sloppy kiss on her stomach before kissing the top of her underwear, pulling them back with his teeth.
Her hands grabbed his hair and she tried to move around but he held her still, “Oh you’re going to be like that, are you?” He moved back up and kissed her lips, beginning a careless makeout that distracted her as he undid the clasp to her top.
Her legs tried to squeeze around him but he wouldn’t allow it, laughing at her whining as he slowly pulled her top off. “Perfect.” He glanced up at her, slowly leaning down towards her chest, “And all..” He kissed her neck once more, “mine.”

Zelda AU #2: The Triplets
Tumblr media
The sketch is rough at best, but Zelda is supposed to look like she does pre-calamity, Tetra looks like the girl from the BotW 2 trailer (because it is her, I might explain that later if anyone’s interested), and Sheik has his design from Smash Ultimate. This is really just my take on the twins AU which was originally created by someone else (rockingthegraveyard, I believe).
https://triforce-princess.tumblr.com/post/627266504652668928/this-is-awesome-your-brain-is-so-good
Anyways, I was thinking of what this might actually look like as a fleshed-out story, and I decided that Zelda’s twin could be named Tetra. And then I thought, “hey, we can’t leave Sheik out!” And so here we are. Basically, thanks to her siblings, Zelda is able to stop the calamity and (almost) everyone lives happily ever after. I don’t actually plan on writing this into a formal story so this is a long post where I just dump a lot of my ideas concerning the trio. I will not be writing this into a story, because I’ve never played BotW and I fear I would get everything wrong, but you’re welcome to! If someone ends up writing something based on this, I’d love to know so I can read it. I also have lots more ideas about this, so if you want more content (aside from this ridiculously long post), just ask!
Zelda is technically the oldest, although it hardly matters since they’re triplets. Thanks to this, she is arbitrarily the one who had all of the responsibilities heaped upon her. She’s pretty similar to how she appears in BotW, except Link isn’t even a potential love interest for her. He’s just her knight whom she’s gradually grown close to - as a friend.
Tetra is the middle child, and by far the most troublesome. She is outgoing, adventurous, brash, and basically everything you don’t want in a princess. King Rhoam tried to raise her to be proper, constantly reminding her that it was the hero’s (Link’s) duty to be the courageous one, not the princess. This often resulted in her running away and threatening to join the gerudo. She and Revali got along like a house on fire, often bonding over how overrated Link is. She absolutely hates Link, because to her, he represents not her failures, but the failures of her country and family. Why can’t a princess with no triforce be the hero as well? She makes no attempt to hide her distaste for him, although she might have changed her perspective a little if she realized that Link actually greatly admired her. It’s too bad that he was too scared of her to tell her himself. Speaking of being too scared to admit things, the one thing Tetra can’t bring herself to say aloud is that she has a huge crush on Princess Mipha.
Sheik is the little brother, known as the quiet one. Unlike his eldest sister, he knows how to fight, but hates doing so. He would much rather prefer to be exploring the lonely areas of the wild, or researching ancient tech with Zelda. He’s trans, and while his sisters support him and his father respects that, King Rhoam also saw that as an excuse to ignore him. After all, the legends never told of princes doing anything noteworthy. Thus, the king, and by extension almost everyone in Hyrule, more or less forgot about their quiet prince. The champions knew about him and were varying degrees of nice to him, especially Lady Urbosa, which was more than almost everyone he met could say. He didn’t mind it too much, and didn’t even realize that it was wrong until after his father was dead.
Link had a varied relationship with the triplets. Originally, both Zelda and Tetra despised him, because he reminded them of everything wrong in Hyrule - Zelda’s own self doubt, and Tetra’s failed attempts to become her own hero. Since his two sisters were always talking about how much they hated having this royal knight follow Zelda around, Sheik grew to dislike him as well, despite having never met in person. However, there was a time in the castle when Tetra practically kidnapped Zelda and whisked her away to an unknown location in Hyrule, sending everything into chaos. Sheik was pretty sure that they were both in on it and were simply trying to prove how well they could manage without Link, but they hadn’t informed him of their plan before they left, so he really had no idea. What he did know was that they left Link behind, and now the royal knight was panicking because he thought the king would blame him for letting his daughters vanish, and feared he’d be at the very least jailed.
Link, to his surprise, was not punished - the king was too busy cursing his own tomboyish daughter - but was sent to go find them alongside a team of Hyrulean soldiers. Not wanting to look useless, Sheik joined the quest. In their travels, Sheik discovered that Link was actually a lot like himself, just in completely different circumstances (and much more reckless, unfortunately), and the knight found that the prince was one of the few people who didn’t meet him with impossibly high expectations, for which he was thankful. They became fast friends, although since they both said an average of ten words a week combined, their friendship often looked more like them being present in the same room.
Much later, after both princesses had returned to the castle (“of our own accord,” Tetra had reminded everyone within earshot), the king doubled down on Zelda discovering her powers. She and her knight were rarely seen around the castle, always visiting springs and whatnot, while Zelda’s siblings were left at the castle doing... basically nothing. They were both training constantly for a battle that they were beginning to believe would never come.
Their seventeenth birthday started like any other day. They were at the castle while Zelda and her knight were off at another spring to pray, along with the champions. Then all hell broke loose. (Literally.) Something monstrous decided to rear its ugly head from under Hyrule Castle, and it took over the guardians to boot. Of course, both Tetra and Sheik became extremely concerned for their older sister, since she probably couldn’t fight a bokoblin, much less corrupted ancient technology. This, combined with the fact that the castle was probably the worst place to be right then, prompted the two to bolt into the field and find their sister. They had to fight guardians the entire way, and Sheik recieved a nasty injury, but kept denying how bad it really was.
Despite the storm, she wasn’t that hard to find, thanks to that explosion of what they guessed was her divine magic that had finally decided to say hello. They found her as opposed to the sheikah, but arrived on the scene a bit to late for the hero. He wasn’t dead (or was he?), or at the very least he could be saved/brought back, but he was clearly not about to help them fight. (Still, Sheik absolutely lost his mind when he saw the state Link was in, to the shock of his sisters. Neither of them knew he was close friends with the knight.)
Zelda quickly explained her plan to her siblings, where she would return the sword to the forest and face Ganon herself, to which Tetra said “hell no.” The Master Sword was right there! Hyrule needs saving, and the princess found herself to be a perfectly competent hero. The sword could be fixed. Somehow.
This part is where I’m a little on the fence about what happens. The sword’s health and power does seem to be tied to Link’s, as evidence by how it heals with him over 100 years and can only shoot sword beams when he’s at full health (I think), but since Tetra actually was worthy of wielding the sword, Fi could have been restored when she accepted the blade. Alternatively, Tetra and Sheik could have been the sages of earth and wind without realizing it, and we’re able to restore the sword on the fly. You get to decide how the sword repaired itself.
So now Tetra has roped herself into fighting Ganon with the Master Sword, Zelda by her side, while Sheik is losing his mind over what is basically the corpse of his closest friend. It’s at this time that Zelda realizes just how injured her brother is. She knows that he can’t fight the calamity like that, so she tasks him with taking Link to the Shrine of Resurrection, like Fi said. Initially, he refuses, but he soon decides that it’s all he can do and agrees.
The triplets go their separate ways. Somehow, the sisters are able to get to the castle very quickly, and start to challenge the Calamity. Zelda uses her new sealing powers to force him into a mortal form, while Tetra beats him up with her new weapon of choice. Ganon originally shrugs them off, more or less, but as they start to win he activates Panic Mode and summons all of his blights back to the sanctum to fight the sisters. Luckily, the blights were snatched right out of their battles with the champions, who were beaten and shaken but still alive.
However, thanks to his new allies, Ganon starts to win. Just when the princesses think they’re about to die, the divine beasts - which are under the control of the champions after the blights left - strike, finishing off the Calamity. Naturally Ganon has a few tricks up his sleeve and transforms into Dark Beast Ganon, moving to Hyrule Field. By Hylia’s (late) divine grace, Tetra and Zelda are teleported to the field as well, alongside Sheik, surprisingly. He’d just set Link up in the shrine before getting pulled here. Zelda is able to summon the Bow of Light, which becomes his weapon.
Together, the three of them are able to take out the dark beast. Zelda creates weak points, while Tetra and Sheik shoot them with Master Sword beams and light arrows, respectively. (Maybe Tetra DID die, but her health was restored by a fairy, or she’s at full health for some other reason.) So now Ganon is dead. Castle town is in shambles, and multiple people are dead, including the king. But don’t worry - Urbosa quickly makes herself the new parental figure of the triplets.
Hyrule is rebuilt. The people celebrate the defeat of the calamity, and the guardians are restored to their former abilities. Tetra becomes the new Champion of Hyrule Castle, wielding the Master Sword and the Sheikah Slate. For an extra happy ending, maybe she and Mipha formally become a couple. Sheik pioneers work on improving ancient and modern technology, showing a special interest in ways to reverse aging. After many years, Queen Zelda’s son, Daphnes Link Hyrule, becomes the ruler after her reign ends.
And so, the people of Hyrule live happily ever after.
... and 100 years later, Link wakes up.

Graceful
The third and final instalment to the Grace Trilogy. We’ve come a long way bois.
Summary: sometimes, things take a turn for the worse, and the world feels like it’s falling apart. Wild’s always jumped at the chance to save someone else, but what happens when the favor is returned?
Warinings: To avoid spoilers, they’re in the tags.
Note: I gotta dedicate this. Like. I absolutely have to. This whole series I want to dedicate to @spacemalarkey and @fox-moblin. Linni, I cannot thank you enough for how much you do for me, for always thinking of me and including me and being my go to person for bouncing ideas off. You helped with with so much and I swear you have been here since the beginning and that’s something I will always be grateful for. Ort, gal, my pal, my favorite cryptid, I love you, you are such an inspiration and your creativity always inspires me to try to be better with my own works. I wouldn’t be where I am today if you hadn’t read Grace and deemed it good enough to reblog haha. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks to you two. It’s not like I’m not writing LU anymore lol, gonna keep writing for this amazing fandom. This fic just feels like a testament to how far I’ve come since Grace.
Anyway, who wants to cry?
-o-o-o-o-
At first, Twilight didn’t understand.
Before, he always questioned it. He would lie awake for hours into the night, tossing and turning on his sleeping mat, blankets tangling his legs and sweat dripping from his brow. Nightmare’s haunted him because of it, nightmares of a wild hearted boy jumping in front of a spear, in front of an invincible monster, in front of Twilight himself, to ultimately fall to the ground and never get back up, blood pooling besides the body.
Twilight never understood. He never understood why Wild was so ready and raring to put himself in the path of a killing blow, or any blow for that matter. He says it’s because he has the ability to come back and he may as well be the one to die and revive than Wind or Sky or Warrior or whoever that won’t come back.
Don’t get Twilight wrong. If someone else was in danger, he would gladly risk his life to save them. But that’s the game changer right there. Risk. Not willingly give away. Twilight believes in finding a way for everyone to survive. It was never about dying for his friends and country, it was about simply saving it.
Wild is hard wired about dying for it.
And Twilight didn’t understand.
He’s argued about it on multiple occasions. Ever since that first time where Wild took his own life to simply return stronger and finish the job, Twilight has found ways to argue about it. Thankfully, Wild eventually understood that letting himself die was heartbreaking for everyone there and a total abuse towards Mipha and her gift, but he’s still reckless. Reckless enough to get his neck snapped by a ball and chain. Reckless enough to push Sky out of the way of a charging bull and get hit himself. Reckless enough to take the arrow he saw heading towards Time’s head. Enough to get Four out of a booby trapped cavern first and ultimately get crushed by tons and tons of earth. Enough to pull Hyrule off from cracking ice and drown as a result, to eat an apple gifted to Warrior’s from a shady figure to prove it was poisoned, to charge unprepared into an enemy camp to save the newest hostage named Legend.
And he doesn’t do these things only for the group, but for innocent bystanders and travelers too.
Twilight would yell and yell Wild’s ear off whenever the little gremlin got himself hurt for others. He could have easily warned Sky or Time to get out of the way. Could have worked together with Four to get out quickly. Could of pulled Hyrule and himself off the ice. Could of could of could of. Wild never seemed to understand that risking your life is not always the first option. Still never understands it. He has this gift to come back from the dead and it’s gotten into his thick skull that if he can solve a particularly difficult problem by simply taking the blow and coming back, he’ll take it and there is nothing wrong with it.
Twilight never understood. It’s gotten Wild angry with him. Wild would try to make Twilight understand and Twilight would just get more and more agitated until finally they are separated via Time’s orders so they can calm down and call it a night.
Twilight would say how much he cares for Wild and he doesn’t want to see him dead. Wild would shoot back the same sentence with so much ferocity that Twilight is forced to let it go. At least he isn’t killing himself like he had done the first time, Twilight says to himself, at least he’s accepting health potions and fairies for his injuries even when they’re low in supply. At least Wild isn’t literally killing himself to save them.
But it isn’t stopping him from willingly and thoughtlessly putting himself in danger.
Twilight never understood.
He understands now.
There’s fire. And a lot of it.  Twilight has only heard about the beasts that they’re up against, only seen the dead carcasses littering the plains and forests of Wild’s world.
“They’re all dead,” Wild had said with a almost reverent certainty the first time they had stumbled upon a corpse of a Guardian, “they died when Zelda and I defeated Calamity Ganon. All they’re good for now is scraps.”
A lot of strange stuff has been going on lately with all their worlds. They should have guessed, or at least prepared, for the possibility of one waking up and attacking. But they didn’t prepare. None of them, not even Wild himself, were ready for when the first eye blinked open with a menacing red flash and pushed itself out from the rubble that has tried to bury it over the years. A blood colored laser blinked to life and trained itself within moment’s onto Wind, a steady heartbeat of beeping piercing into the air, and Twilight, everyone, was frozen in spot because of fear, terror, horror, all those fun emotions. Thankfully, Wild knocked himself out of it pretty quickly, muscle memory forcing his hands to his bow before his brain could catch up. He loaded an arrow and shot it at the mechanical monster’s eye and a zing echoed in the air as the Guardian stumbled backwards on its eight legs, startled, but not a scratch.
“Run!” Wild screamed.
And oh, they did. Or they really tried to. If the Hero of the Wild was screaming at you to haul ass out of a fight you better listen. They would have probably gotten away before the Guardian found its bearings, but they were stopped in their tracks as another metal beast crawled over a close by hill, dragging a single injured leg behind it with its five remaining ones, it’s laser trained on Time who was leading the retreat.
So the next, logical, thing to do would be to turn and run to the left or the right, but a third Guardian, barely scooting across the ground with two working limbs, crawled from the side and the first one was now recovered and they found themselves surrounded, fighting their way out quickly becoming the only option out of this. The laser pointing at Time fired and they all jumped out of the way but the explosion sent them flying into different directions and the flames lit the ground despite how the morning dew still coated the grass.
They scrambled, Time stumbling from a very nasty burn on his leg and Four clutching his arm to his chest towards a particularly large boulder on the other side of the Guardian that had just fired at them. The other two had their lasers trained, the one that had fired was beginning the process of loading up its weapon. It was the safest route.
They thankfully managed to dodge around the second guardian towards the boulder and get behind the makeshift shelter before any shots can hit them. The boulder shook from the pure force of the deadly projectile hitting it straight on and fire blasted around the corners, making Sky (who was closest to the edge) cry out in shock as the flames licked his sailcloth.
“What do we do?” Time demanded, already they can hear the heavy steps of the monsters figuring out where their prey had gotten to. They had minutes at most to make a plan before the Guardians realized that they didn’t disappear, but were hiding.
The tortured, panicked, wide-eyed look Wild gave Time almost broke Twilight’s heart. The kid was always so sure about himself. Always having some sort of plan no matter how reckless or crazy it was. Right now, Wild looked lost, scared.
“Take them out one at a time?!” Wild said, his voice an octave higher than it’s normal range. “I don’t know! I’ve never fought three at the same time! I- go for the legs, the Master Sword would be best but any strong weapon will do. If it aims at you, fire it’s eye. Get them immobile- I-”
Wild looked at the verge of a panic attack, his eyes glistened and a hand went up to his arm, his scarred arm, like he was trying to pull himself together.
Another explosion hits the boulder, and another right after. Twilight brought his hands to his head as the structure behind them shook and chunks of rock fell down on them. They’ve ran out of time. The Guardian’s know that they’re there, and they want a fight.
“Sky,” Time barked over the roaring sound of fire around them, “take the Master Sword and get the legs of the least injured one. Wild, go with him. You’ll shoot the eye. Twilight, Four, and Legend, you three get two legged one, work together to get it’s legs. Legend, you’re on eye duty. Wind, Hyrule, Warrior, you’re with me. Wind, you’re in charge of the eye.”
At that was it. A barely thought out plan that everyone hardly had any time to agree or disagree to before a final blast broke their boulder in two. Everyone ran into battle, crying out, splitting off to their assigned enemies without a second thought.
And that’s where they are now. Fighting for their life.
Legend is a master of the bow. Not as good as Wild, but good enough. Good enough to release an arrow mid run and hit their target head on. Four bolted forward, lifting his sword into the air and jamming it into the first leg of the monster. Gears screeched together as the Guardian stumbles, but Twilight doesn’t wait for it to recover before he too is beginning his attack.
For a second, it all goes good. There is only two working legs and Four and Twilight each, with the support of Legend released an arrow every few moments, manage to shatter both of them. The Guardian crumbles to the ground, leaving it open for them to attack it’s body and within minutes, the eye shatters and blinks pitifully, metal bits falling as if relaxing in death.
For a second, Twilight thinks that maybe everything will be okay.
That was his mistake.
Because right after that second, Wind is screaming in pain as the guardian they were fighting manages to make a blow before Wind could stun it. Twilight spins on heel and takes in the complete chaos across from him. Time is rolling on the ground violently because of a leg that hit him, Hyrule is just managing to dodge to frantic legs above him, and Wind is scrambling to his feet, clutching his side, blood dripping down his forehead and fire singing his tunic.
Then another explosion shakes the ground as a misfired laser from the Guardian Wild and Sky are tag teaming on just manages to miss the group but explodes the earth past them, fire and debris shooting into the air like an evil monster itself, spreading it’s tendrils to destroy everything it touches.
The Guardian Sky is working on is thankfully stunned and injured thanks to a particularly nasty arrow sticking out at an odd angle in its eye, but it’s now firing rapidly, its four remaining legs frantically trying to find purchase.
“Legend- Four-” Twilight starts.
“On it, Twi,” Four says, grabbing Legends hand and rushing towards Time and the others. Twilight swallows and sprints in the opposite direction, towards Wild who is dodging out of the way of a misfired laser that almost didn’t miss.
Twilight grabs the bow on his back and shoots the Guardian again, hitting right in the middle of its eye and shattering the glass just a bit more. The metal creature seems to groan as its head spins around desperately looking for its target, but it jolts to the side as the Master Sword takes out yet another leg.
Wild nods in thanks and loads his own bow, firing at the eye, and Twilight rushes forwards, re taking his sword and slamming it into one of the remaining legs. There’s a couple close calls, this Guardian is a lot more fidgety and trigger happy than the other one Twilight somehow managed to defeat, but eventually, the last leg shatters with a mighty swing from Sky’s sword and the thing comes crashing down to the earth with a thud, firing fearfully into the air.
Wild runs forward and slams his sword down into it’s eye, sinking his weapon down into the hilt. Glass shatters and the Guardian shutters, blinking sadly, and shutting off with a pitiful whir.
Okay, Twilight thinks, now it can all get better now. There’s one left and Wild said he can fight these things one on one. He turns, Sky walking next to him, Wild climbing down from the dead beast.
The other guardian is literally on its last leg with the combined efforts of the rest of the group, it’s laser is blinking on Legend, who’s standing in front of an injured Wind, but Legend has his bow trained and is at that second releasing his arrow. His aim is true, but Twilight knows right then that something is horribly wrong.
The last Guardian’s laser was too loaded, too powered up to be simply shut off. It is knocked backwards, and the last leg breaking courtesy of Hyrule made it so it was looking directly at Wild when it finally released that explosive energy.
Twilight didn’t think. But in that moment, he understood.
He finally understood.
It the heat of the moment, Twilight didn’t have time to think about the options. About the consequences. About the ways everyone will make it out alive. He just surged forward, grabbed Wild by the shoulders, and shoved the kid behind him.
And then heat. Fire.
Agony.
His ears are ringing. He can’t breath. His skin feels hot and cold at the same time for a second and then he can feel nothing at all. Numbness takes over, and he’s left choking for air, staring up at the sky blocked by smoke. Orange flames lick the corner of his vision and that’s all he’s aware of. The fire. The smoke. The knives stabbing into his lungs with every breath he tries to take, even as the blurry outline of hands grab onto his tunic and drags him away from the fire.
The edges of his sight blur, his chest shutters, and he blinks and blinks and blinks until he can’t no more.
The last thing he’s aware of is Wild kneeling over him, trails of wetness glistening red with the fire running down his cheeks. There’s a cut on his chin, hair a little singed, but otherwise okay.
He’s okay.
And Twilight understands.
And with that, all the pain and worry leaves Twilight, and he enters the blackness of unconsciousness without any resistance.
-o-o-o-o-
At first, Time didn’t know what… drew him towards Twilight.
From the first moment Time laid his eyes on the kid, he knew he would do anything to protect him, even before he figured out Twilight is a descendant. There’s just something about him that makes Time go crazy with protective urges and… almost attempts at parental guidance.
Time cares for each of the heroes on their group. Each have something so incredibly special about them, and their youth didn’t help with Time’s slow descent into “Dad Friend” territory, but Twilight was something… different.
If it was the way the kid instantly worried about others before himself, or the way he fought with a feral viciousness, or the intelligence that was always present in his gaze… whatever the case, Time eventually found that he saw himself in Twilight. And instead of that being a comfort, it made him almost go insane with worry. He wanted nothing more than to teach the kid to be himself, to not worry so much, to take the moment as it came, but he could never find the moments to teach those. Plus, Twilight always looked at him with a gaze that screams: “Don’t even start with me, old man” before he can even work up the courage to talk to him about it.
It takes a lot of courage to scold Twilight.
More courage than what Time had.
He planned to maybe leave him for Malon to chew out the next time they ended up at the ranch. Perhaps corner him in a quiet forest. Possibly just spit it out on the trail. Get him to understand that he’s young, and he doesn’t need to worry about everything, all the time, all day. He doesn’t need to swing his sword so hard, doesn’t need to lose sleep over other’s problems, doesn’t need to remember he has his own issues he should work out until it’s too late.
What a load of good those plans turned out to be, especially since Twilight is practically on his deathbed.
Or the “on the road” equivalent to it.
It’s a race against the clock, a race that Time can’t help but feel like they are losing. They were not prepared for a battle like Wild’s Guardians, they were not prepared for wounds or cuts or third degree burns. With the world constantly fading and morphing around them, they sometimes don’t have enough red potions or fairies for a broken leg, let alone burns so horrid that the scarred, blistering tissue of Twilight’s body outnumbers the unblemished.
One red potion. Courtesy of Four. Enough to stop most of the bleeding, but the burns are still so bad that Twilight is stuck in a perpetual fever and it’s only getting worse.
They have to find civilization, and fast.
And it doesn’t help that the world is no longer Wild’s, and no one recognizes the forest around them. The most they can do is walk until somebody recognizes where they are, the constant worry of maybe a town is in the opposite direction nagging at each of their brains.
Maybe they are somewhere in Twilight’s time, and none of them would know until they either find civilization or Twilight wakes up.
Finding civilization seems more likely.
Time winces when Warrior stumbles a little, jostling the makeshift stretcher they made with blankets, branches, and rope to tie it all together. Everyone has injuries, and with the single health potion being used to buy Twilight more time, Warrior is forced to push through a sprained ankle. Wind is the worst off from them all, sporting painful burns on his side and chest and various other cuts. He has a fever and is now half delirious from pain and exhaustion, forced to be carried along on the back of Sky. He isn’t in… immediate danger. He still needs medical attention. The rest of them thankfully all just have minor scrapes and bruises, a burn here and there but not enough to do much more than sting persistently.
Besides Twilight and Wind, it’s the emotional wounds that Time is more worried about.
Especially Wild.
Who hasn’t said a word in over five hours.
And there isn’t much Time can do about it. All Time can do is reposition his grip on the stretcher, ask Warrior if he needs to switch with someone, and let Four quickly check over Twilight.
“How is he?” Time asks.
Four sighs and pulls his hand away from Twilight’s forehead. The answer is in his pinched eyebrows and red rimmed eyes. “He needs help, old man,” Four replies softly after a second.
Time nods. And they continue their walk, because there is nothing more that they can do.
Time tries not to think about Wild, a few paces behind, hugging his arms around his body like he will crumble.
The walk continued, and no signs of human life ever presented itself. Warrior eventually had to switch with Legend so he could lean on Hyrule and give his injured ankle a much needed break. The walking only got slower from there, the weight of the stretcher and the body placed upon it only seemed to get heavier.
The sun travels. The forest continues.
Twilight begins to vomit blood in his sleep.
And that’s when any hope in the group shattered.
They were forced to stop. Moving Twilight any more would just quicken the inevitable. A grim mood falls over the group and the realization that unless help found them, Twilight is not going to make it. The least they could do is… make sure it’s not too painful.
They made a nest for him and placed him a generous distance away from the fire to not overheat him but also not to let the bite of the cooling night creep in too much. The mood of the group is grim. Time puts it upon himself to keep everyone together despite him wanting to break down himself. He stopped Hyrule from stomping off into the forest, a sword at his hip. He made sure Wind wasn’t alone as he sulked by the campfire by sending Four over to talk to him, maybe encourage him to allow them to change his bandages. He broke apart the argument Legend was trying to start with Sky for no reason at all. Warrior has closed in on himself and has announced that he will continue walking into the forest to find help, but Time forced him to sit down so he could better look at his ankle, trying to will Warrior to understand that there is nothing in their power to do, no matter how it pains the both of them.
Wild is at Twilight’s bedside. A solid arms distance away. Curled up in himself and simply staring at the bandages and scarred flesh.
Time may have told himself that he will make sure everyone is together and okay this night, but for many reasons he just couldn’t bring himself to quite confront Wild yet. He didn’t see what happened, but he saw the aftermath, and Sky saw it so he was told the details in quiet whispers a little while after. Twilight shoved Wild out of the way so he could protect the younger from the misfired blast of a Guardian.
Wild blames himself. Time doesn’t have any doubts about it. Wild is so ready to risk his life for others, but the second someone does it for him he goes to a place so deep in his own mind that Time isn’t sure that he can pull him back out without a fight. This is why Time has been dreading the moment he’ll have to talk to the kid, but he also knows Wild will do nothing but damage himself if left to his own thoughts. It’s already beginning, the distance Wild has set between himself and Twilight is a clear indicator of that.
Warrior clears his throat and Time is brought out of his worries, looking up from the makeshift split he’s been setting on Warrior’s injury. Warrior has a look in his eyes that lets Time know that they’re thinking about the exact same thing.
“I can talk to him,” Warrior says, voice low so no one but Time hears.
Time almost wants to agree. Warrior is fully capable of this task. He doesn’t talk too much about his trials, but Time does know he has lead armies into battle, into war. It’s in his name. He’s seen stuff like this before. Time’s sure he’s witnessed soldiers collapse in the heat of a fight; good soldiers, soldiers with friends and family waiting for them. Time could put this on him and let Warrior deal with the fallout of telling the hard truth to a boy who does not want to listen, to a boy who will only blame himself.
But Time also knows that he cannot dump this on Warrior. Time is responsible for the group, and he’s probably one of the only ones to truly know and understand Twilight.
The most important person in the entire world to Twilight wasn’t Zelda. It wasn’t Midna. Or Colin. Or Ilia.
It was Wild.
And that fierce… love went both ways.
No, no Time can’t let Warrior take the fall. The man may be a captain, a seasoned hero of war, but, in this group, Time is the leader. It’s his responsibility. He’s the only one that can do it.
“See if Four needs any help making dinner,” Time says, trying to give Warrior both a grateful and determined expression. Warrior studies him for a second, glances at Wild, then sighs.
“I trust you, old man,” he consents, though his voice still sounds stern, his look giving away nothing as he stands up and limps towards Four whose smacking Hyrule’s hand away with the spoon.
Time sighs and glances back over at Wild and Twilight, his heart tightening in his chest with indescribable worry and fear.
Don’t be a coward, Time. Rip it off like a bandage. Get it done and over with. Worry about the fallout later.
Finally, Time stands up, and before he could even hesitate he begins to walk towards the kid that’s supposed to be cooking right now. Towards the young man that’s losing the battle for his life. Towards two heroes desperately hurting in very different ways.
Time sets himself down next to Wild, and Wild doesn’t react. He just stares at Twilight and somehow manages to press his knees even closer to his chest. He doesn’t even spare a sideways look.
Slowly, with much unsurety, Time lowers a hand down onto Wild’s shoulder. Wild stiffens slightly, and usually that stiffening would go away after a few moments… but this time it sticks around. Time doesn’t let that deter him. He can’t afford to let it.
“How are you holding up?” Time asks.
Wild doesn’t respond, just takes a deep breath and lets it out. For a moment, Time really thinks that there will be no getting through to Wild. He’s too deep in his grief. Too deep to be pulled out by a few words and touches.
But then, Wild responds right when Time was about to jot this down as a hopeless venture.
“He won’t last the night,” Wild says, his voice thick. Wobbly.
Time swallows and follows Wild’s gaze down to Twilight, and for the first time since the incident, Time really looks at his protege. The skin not inflamed and blistered is pale and sickly green. Sweat is glistening off every inch of skin, soaking the bandages hiding the tendril like burns embracing his body. He matches Wild in the worst way possible. Destroyed tissue on his face, ear gone, scabs and puss staining the white cloth woven around his chest. He looks horrible. Looks like death. He’s probably in unimaginable pain and Time can’t help but think that Twilight not lasting the night would be a mercy.
“No,” Time croaks, “he won’t.”
Wild’s stiff shoulder suddenly jolts as he tightens his hold around himself, a pitiful whimper escaping his throat as he presses his eyes against his knees. Time sits there as Wild breaks apart, as another sob physically wracks through his small frame.
“It’s my fault,” Wild whimpers. “It’s all my fault…”
“No, cub,” Time says, heat threatening to break through his tear ducts, “it isn’t your fault-”
Wild only cries harder and Time does the only thing he can think of doing. He grabs his shoulders and presses the boy into his chest, holding him as tight as he can as Wild fully lost control of himself, cries of anguish and pain shooting out into the night. It’s loud, not a single emotion holding back, but Time doesn’t attempt to hush him. No one turns a judgmental eye towards them, all of them perhaps thinking the same thing.
It’s about time someone broke.
Time whispers every comfort he knows into Wild’s hair as he glances up at the others. Legend is leaning against a tree, glaring at the fire with a suspicious glisten in his eyes. Sky has Hyrule pulled under his arm in a comforting one armed hug, Hyrule’s shoulders shaking slightly while Sky glances at Time with an alone tear trailing down his cheek. Four and Warrior has stopped cooking, and by the looks of the pot sitting just off the fire, they have given up at it; neither are crying but both look very ready to, especially Warrior as Wind climbs into his lap and grasps around his waist, a look of pure sadness screwing up his youthful features.
Liquid finally breaks through, and Time doesn’t wipe the army of tears trailing down his face for a very long time.
Twilight stops breathing twice in the night.
They weren’t able to save him the second time.
-o-o-o-o-
At first, Wild’s angry. Beyond angry.
The rage in his gut burnt with a fiery passion and the tree that came in front of him and his sword didn’t see it coming.
Neither did his now shattered sword.
But… that was weeks ago.
Now?
Now he’s just numb.
He doesn’t quite know how to… face it anymore. Anger, sadness, the whole process of grief didn’t work. It still hurts, It still clutches his heart and tear through his chest with every blink of his eyes, every flash of fire that came with each blink. It repeats, over and over and over and Wild’s pretty sure he’s tried everything to quench the guilt, the pain, and every time he ends up back at square one.
Alone.
He’s alone.
Alone and numb.
Numb because what’s the point of feeling anymore? All feeling does is hurt him, all feeling does is get the people he cares about killed.
It’s killed Mipha. Urbosa. Daruk. Ravio. It’s sentenced Zelda to 100 years of torture and solitude. It’s sent soldiers to die. It’s sent fields to burn. Mountains to fall. Dragons to become ill. Guardians to turn. So many people have died, gotten hurt, had their lives destroyed because of a boy named Link who decided to pull a sword out of stone, who thought he could be a hero.
All feeling is good for is causing a mess and leaving him to clean it up.
Twilight is just another name to add to the list.
So… he’s numb. The world passed easier that way. He made it through the funeral. The words they all said, that he stayed silent through. He made it through their group stumbling upon Ordon Village like some sick joke from the goddesses just a few hours later. Made it through Time telling the families there that their boy isn’t coming home. Made it through the crying children, the sobbing young woman beating against Time’s chest, the empty house filled with memories of a life snuffed out, the horse named Epona nipping at all their ears as if asking “Where is mine?”
He made it through all that without another temper tantrum. Without another break down, or panic attack, or any ugly crocodile tears. Made it through without saying a word even. He hardly remembers any of it, just the major details that his brain will naturally store away for him to remember in his nightmares. He has even avoided the temptations to grab his slate and hyper focus on every picture of Twilight that he has.
Because that hurts.
Numbness is better.
Yes, numbness is so much better, he thinks as he sits alone in a small clearing leading to a beautiful spring occupying a rather majestic stream of knee high waterfalls. He has just managed to avoid Time once again—the old man has been giving him a lot of looks lately and Wild is getting rather frustrated with them—and took off into the paths leading outside of the village he can’t wait to leave. He walked without purpose, only wanting to get away and not have the constant inkling at the back of his mind that tells him to tell them what really happened. Tell them all that Twilight didn’t die heroically, he died protecting a kid who can come back from the dead easily. He died trying to be a hero, only got himself killed in the process. If Twilight was thinking, he would have known that Wild might die from that blast, but he would have quickly came back. Twilight should have left it alone. He should have stepped aside and let the beam kill Wild for the second time in his life.
Instead, he got himself dead for a useless purpose. It’s Wild’s fault, he should have been paying attention so Twilight didn’t even feel the need to shove him back.
His fault…
No, no be numb.
He sighs and looks at the clearing and spring around him. It’s gorgeous here, and for a second he wonders if Twilight ever spent time here, if he ever played in that spring water or sat in this very spot watching the fish. He rubs a hand over his face, hoping to maybe banish those thoughts as well because they hurt and he really doesn’t want to hurt any more. He really doesn’t want to think about how even if Twilight used to spend time at this spring that his presence will never grace this place again.
Being alone is a bad idea, he realizes as he glares at the waters, thinking is a bad idea too, but thinking comes when one’s alone and he was never good at meditation.
But he also thinks being back at that village with his comrades and the kind strangers is a bad idea too. Wild can feel himself be wound tight light a string tied between two wild boars trying to run in the opposite directions. He’s succeeded for so long at ignoring the aching in his chest, but it isn’t like this is the first time he’s done this to avoid the hurting and churning. He’ll snap soon. He knows he will. It’s only a matter of time, and he’d rather do it silently and alone than loudly and with company.
A lung full of air. Out. The ripples in the water reflect the golden sunset. In. Breath wobbles. Out. Tears sting. In… his heart clenches. Out… the first unwanted whimper escapes.
In. A tear falls.
Out. His head sinks to his knees.
In.
He wants to scream.
Out.
He’s too busy biting his lips.
In…
Out… It’s his fault.
In… He didn’t get to say goodbye.
His breath catches.
He cant breath out. He’s sobbing now, his ears ringing. His brain is screaming at him to pull himself together, that he should just suck it up and ignore it like he’s done for so long—but then his heart clenches and he knows that he just let the dam burst. There’s no hope to stop the waters, they come out with every gasp, every whimper, every cry, every action to curl tighter and tighter within himself, and they’ll keep flowing until there’s no more water to flow, until he can work up the strength to build up the walls again.
It hurts. He hates it so much. Everything hurts.
It’s his fault. It’s all his fault.
Zelda. Mipha. Daruk. Revali. Urbosa. Zelda. Mipha. Daruk. Revali. Urbosa. Zelda…
Twilight.
He cries harder. Faces. Names. Voices. It’s all too loud, and now instead of trying to ignore it he’s trying to drown it out with his own cries, his own pain. Maybe, if he shows how much he hurts, how much agony he’s in, the faces and blame will leave him alone for a little while longer. If he screams loud enough into his legs and arms, the voices will dim. If he-
Something brushes against his fingertips, and he’s startled out of his own misery, head shooting up to find that his fingers are resting in the golden, rippling water of the spring. His shoes are drowned up to his ankles, and his butt is soaked. Somehow, the water has risen, and now he’s sitting in it.
He blinks, wiping the tears from his cheeks and taking a gasping breath of air, and he looks at the waterfalls, trying to figure out how the water even rose in the first place. Oceans have tides, springs don’t. Or at least he doesn’t think they do. Not that it matters, he’s just… thankful that it managed to bring him out of his agony so it didn’t have to take it’s own time fading.
Something flashes at the top of the spring, at the third and highest waterfall section, and he blinks when the form of a silver creature catches his eye.
His breath catches in his throat when the figure comes a bit closer.
A wolf.
Thousand’s of emotions flicker through his head like a slideshow and he holds his breath as the wolf jumps down the first section of waterfall. It’s fur is a beautiful, glittering silver color that glitters like there’s a bucket of stars connected into each strand. He doesn’t even think to run or grab his sword, he’s too transfixed as the creature jumps down the next section and there’s not a single splash. Down the last and there’s white, familiar patterns on the muzzle and forehead of the creature.
He doesn’t dare breathe. If he breathes, whatever he’s seeing could turn out to be a sick joke.
The wolf pads towards him, head tilted slightly and those blue, blue eyes flashing with sadness and worry.
And then, the silver fur ripples like the pond it’s walking on. Flashing a pure gold and morphing to a taller, more human figure colored in grays and glowing whites like the moon. If Wild had blinked, one second a wolf would be tilting its head at him and the next he would be smiling down.
But he didn’t blink. He didn’t breathe. He’s terrified to.
“Hey, cub,” Twilight says, smiling.
And curse it, the dam breaks again, though, not in the same way as before.
He scrambles to his feet, golden water dripping from his clothes and splashing upwards with every desperate, running step he takes further into the spring. The smile on his face widens as Wild gets closer, but Wild can hardly even see through his tears as he launches himself forward in one last, desperate burst.
For a second, terror clutches his heart that he’s going to close his arms but they will only go through, but it’s too late to stop his arms, too late to stop his body, and the pure joy that fills his entire soul when he physically crashes into Twilight is intoxicating. If he’s dreaming, he will make the most of it and hold Twilight as tight as he can.
Twilight laughs and encloses his own arms around Wild’s body as they both stumble. Twilight sinks into the water and they fall together into the spring, drops splashing upwards and soaking both of them.
They hold each other. Wild has no plans on stopping as the tears fall again, as his chest lurches with his cries. Twilight doesn’t seem to mind a whole lot, in fact he helps position them both so they’re more cuddling compared to the mess of limbs they were before. The coolness of the running water ripples against their clothes and skin like a heartbeat.
“I’m sorry,” Wild chokes out after what must have been half an hour of just sitting there, hugging, and crying. “I’m so sorry.”
“Shh, cub,” Twilight soothes, “I don’t blame you. No one blames you. It was me, I made the decision.”
That makes Wild cry harder. His throat, stomach, and chest hurts so much.
“It’s alright, I’m here, it’s all okay, cub. I’m so sorry it took me so long to find you again, I should have found you sooner.”
Wild shakes his head, because Twilight is trying to push the blame onto himself and nothing is okay, but he can’t work up the strength to argue anymore. He lets Twilight hold him as his shutters and gasping stops, lets Twilight continue to hush him and whisper comforts until there’s nothing but the spring water to pierce the silence of the evening forest.
It’s peaceful. Somehow, Wild feels more at peace than what he has felt in months. He doesn’t want to break it.
Twilight breaks it.
“I can’t stay much longer, cub,” he whispers and Wild bites his lip.
He knows how this works. Spirits can never stay long.
“I needed to see you,” Twilight continues, his voice sad, “and I needed to give you something.”
Wild lets Twilight grab his hands and help him to his feet. They’re both soaking, but the chilly breeze and the low sun doesn’t seem to affect either of them. He forces himself to look up at Twilight who is now standing just a arms distance away. His smile is sad, eyes glistening.
He opens his mouth, and cuts himself off with a nervous chuckle. It’s so Twilight. It’s so him. The guy is like a child doing a bad impression of an adult in an actual adults body. He’s trying to be serious, to the point, factual, but Twilight is just as an emotional mess as Wild is, and he can never keep a straight face long even in the most serious of topics.
Wild feels like he can breathe for the first time in a long time.
“Look, I… I did what I did and I don’t want you to blame yourself, kid,” Twilight says and Wild’s lips thin, already preparing himself for the inevitable lecture. Trust Twilight to come back as a spirit and “give” him a lecture. Twilight must catch sight of Wild’s nonplussed expression because his face suddenly breaks out in to a splitting smile accompanied this time by a genuine laugh.
“Okay, okay, how about we leave that to the old man, huh?” He jokes.
“Why… are you here?” Wild asks, and man does his voice sound unused. Raw.
Twilight licks his lips and brings his hand to the back of his neck. “I… I can’t just leave you. Alone. I can’t. I’ll never be able to rest if I don’t know you’re safe.”
He sucks in a deep breath and Wild watches with wide eyes as Twilight reaches towards his chest and there’s a bright flash of golden light that has Wild blinking spots from his eyes. Within a second, Twilight is standing before him with an orb cradled in his hands, a blood red color.
Twilight isn’t looking at Wild, but down at the orb like he himself is fascinated by it. The corners of his lips tilt slightly upwards and he sighs. “Go, and do not falter, my child,” he says softly, as if to himself, but Wild doesn’t get to question it because Wild looks up at with with a set jaw and determined eyes. “Take it.”
“I-”
“Cub. Please. I love you so much. The gods gifted me this form in life… I want you to take it, and be safe. I have no need for it anymore.”
He holds out his hands and Wild cups the orb in his hands, waterworks starting up again, but he quickly wipes them away with his shoulder as the warmth of the orb dissolves in his palms, spreading over his fingers like a liquid and trailing up his arms to the center of his chest, where there’s a burst of golden light and the familiar feeling of something greater than himself entering his being. He feels warm. He feels safe.
Suddenly, he’s pulled back into a fierce hug and Wild grasps onto Twilight’s clothes because he knows, he knows it’s almost over. It’s almost time to part. To say goodbye.
“Promise me, cub” Twilight whispers into his hair, “promise me you will be safe.”
“I… I promise.”
-o-o-o-o-
At first, he was afraid.
Now, he’s loved.
He’s running, faster than what he’s ever ran before. The world is at his heels, branches and leaves whip past his snout as he pushes harder, faster, breathing hard and going going going-
Going where? Not sure yet.
All he knows is that… he’s free. The world is nothing but a blur zipping past his gaze, streaking past his pumping legs, left behind his tail.
He never wanted Revali’s Gale, or Urbosa’s Fury, or Daruk’s Protection.
He never wanted Mipha’s Grace.
The thought of owning the powers of his dead comrades, dead friends, set his stomach in a knot, but they were always useful. He learned to get used to it. Learned to appreciate the gifts he was given and use them in the best way he knew how.
He never wanted this gift either. Goddess, if you were to tell him that someday the Hero of Twilight would pass away, would sacrifice himself to save him, and then give him a very special ability that was such a huge part of who Twilight was… he probably would have thrown hands.
But… it’s been a few months since that meeting, since the funeral, since the death. Wild has learned to… appreciate it. Twilight is right, this gift definitely made him feel less alone. Every time he uses it (at first reluctantly, now whenever he gets the chance), he can feel Twilight watching over him from some unknown plane of existence. He can feel the warmth, and it’s not the dirty blond fur on his body radiating that heat. It’s a different kind of heat.
“I know you’ll find this gift useful,” Twilight had said, before he finally faded away, “I certainly did. Whenever you use it, I want you to remember how many people are there for you, how many people would fight for you. There are so many of them. Take it. Use it. Twilight’s Love is now yours… well, it always has been.”
Wild howls, feeling strong, feeling free, feeling loved, as he pushes himself faster up the hill, tongue lolling out of his panting jaws. Someone calls out his name and he sprints harder, barreling through the grass and jumping into the open arms of none other than Wind. Wind laughs from the bottom of his stomach, small fingers climbing up and latching themselves into Wild’s fur. Time stands off a small distance, the others not far behind, all smiling.
A broken family, all doing their best to remain strong.
And there’s something graceful about that, isn’t there?

The First Meeting
Sometimes Link forgot how life was when he as younger, when he was just an innocent child. How innocent and bright everything seemed to be except the little bullying that Mido had done.
His point was, that nothing will ever feel like it was ten years ago when he was the only Kokiri without a fairy, when he still had friends.
Today he was the Hylian without a home and alone.
Honestly Link couldn't even really remember his childhood anymore.
He grew up too quick to have a real childhood.
Nine years of innocence, naivety and weakness wasn't enough and they never will be.
Zelda should have thought about on what mission she sent him and which consequences there would be for him.
She should have told him before that she will reset everything, that he would lose the friendships he had made with others, but she didn't think that far before she wanted him to prevent a battle that they both will cause.
She shouldn’t have played with destiny because of her stupid dreams that he had too.
 It had been hard for Link to regain the friendships he had lost and open up to people that were like strangers for him but he did it. It had taken him a while but he had opened up to the others after a few months after his forgotten adventure to defeat Ganondorf and to save the kingdom.
But it hadn’t helped him feeling more complete, there had still been a piece missing and Link knew who it was.
Zelda had given him the Ocarina of Time when he had made his way to the forest and he had been only 10 years old - physically.
He had a vision again - the first one after his vision of Ganondorf chasing after Zelda. Link had seen a blue light in the forest, something had been crying “Watch out!”, and there had been this laughter that made Link throw up when he had woken up from this vision.
Navi was in danger and Link couldn’t call himself hero if he didn’t save her.
The other sages except for Saria, who couldn’t leave the Kokiri Village and join them in Castletown, had said the goodbye there.
None of them had been comfortable letting Link, as young as they thought he was, go on his own without backup but they all had known how stubborn Link could get, so they had to let him go.
They hadn’t realized that they shouldn't have let him go on his own until when he had come back two weeks later.
There had been bags under his eyes, he didn't really talk or eat anymore.
He had just stared into the distance not looking them in the eyes.
His eyes had been the most disturbing about him. They had lost the rest of their innocence in them, looking haunted by something far more dangerous than Ganon could ever be, they didn't fit to a child of the age of ten - or older?
Link had been becoming tired of regaining old friendships.
He had been tired of being forgotten, tired of being thrown away when he had done what others couldn't or just wouldn't do.
He had been just a puppet.
The little, sweet and perfect child was finally gone.
Link wasn’t sure though if it really had been the quest in Termina that had killed the child inside of him.
Link never told Zelda of his rage against her but she seemed to know about it. How could she not when she possessed the Triforce of Wisdom and was well-aware what the other version of her had done to Link.
He never spoke to her or the other sages out loud again if he had the choice, if it wasn’t necessary.
He had been falling apart on the inside and most of them could only watch.
Link didn't  want to open up anymore, not wanting to be forgotten again.
 ____________
The night was colder than usual but the hero didn't care he could deal with it.
He got used to it after living on the street for a certain amount of time.
Malon did offer him a place to sleep and live in several times but Link didn't want to bother her or her father.
Malon was a lovely, bright and strong woman and Link was just damaged goods. There was no way that he could bring her down with him even if she and Talon say otherwise.
Link looked up at the sky, seeing the half of the moon.
He was glad that Hyrule Field was more peaceful today than normally, which should have been the first sign that something was wrong. He didn't want to save some dumb travelers from monsters again.
Then, in the next moment there were explosions and screaming all over the place. The sky lighted for a short time up in red, orange and yellow colors.
He closed both of his blue eyes for a moment, sighing at his bad luck.
Link ran to the position to where the explosion came from and found eight people fighting against monsters.
He never had seen them before in his life and yet they seem so familiar to him.
Those people seemed to know how to fight but they still got no chance against the monsters. They all looked like dumb children compared to these monsters, like they've never been in a real fight before.
Link wanted to cry, wanted to turn his back, walk away and never think of this ever again. He wanted to just leave them there.
We have to help them, son.
Link nodded with a defeated sigh on his lips.
Those people were in danger and Link couldn’t call himself a hero if he didn’t save them.
Without a word to these travelers he began slaying the monsters with his Biggoron sword.
The monsters didn't last long anymore.
It was a shame really that these people couldn't handle those monsters. Even though they were good equipped, they hadn't stood a chance against those.
The blood of the monsters was dripping off of his hands but Link didn't really care about that.
He had seen enough of that to be not distracted by that.
He concentrated more on these eight Hylians.
At least two of them had to be younger than him because they really weren't that tall to be an adult and their faces were all soft. One of them wore a patchy, colorful tunic that included four colors, the other slightly taller person wore  a blue tunic with a strange design on top of it. Some other had a green tunic on, that remembered Link a bit of the one he’s wearing, and a red bracelet on his left wrist and the guy right next to him had a pink streak in his hair.
Someone with a scarf called out to him and Link realized that he didn't have the time to stare at these strangers any longer.
The blue scarf man and three others came nearer to Link. Probably with the reason to talk to him and thank him or something.
Which was also the reason why Link hated to do things like this because he hates to be talked to by other people he doesn’t know or trust.
When they came nearer Link realized who the man with a scarf was. It was another Link from another dimension, he had helped to save when he had been younger both physically and mentally.
The other people looked similar to himself and the Captain Link. Could that mean that they all had the name Link?
The person with the pelt looked warily at Link, he was wondering why person saving them had been better and faster with killing the monsters and maybe he had seen something he shouldn’t have while Link had been fighting.
The other one with scars on his face looked a lot calmer than his friend, seeming to know that the situation was getting more and more uncomfortable for Link.
And then there was the last one. He looked like he was the friendliest of the whole group but Link didn't like how it seemed to make him relax, knowing that even if they were all friends that it wouldn't last forever, knowing that one day even the closest person will leave him one day.
Link then saw what sword that man was carrying and he stopped breathing for a moment out of shock. The man carried the Master Sword.
How could he-?
It was supposed to be in the Temple of Time, it was supposed to be safe, so how could the man have it?
He didn't let his shock show on the outside, the strangers didn't need to know how fragile he was after his adventures.
“You must be Link, right?” The Link with the scarf said, not seeming to recognize him from his own adventure.
Link didn't dare to speak up, he didn't have the feeling that he even could if he wanted to.
He was forgotten again.
He was forgotten again but it still hurt like the first time it had happened with other people.
Link wanted to scream, wanted to cry out all of his frustrations and yet he stayed silent.
“Of course he's a Link, Warriors. How many blonds did you see wearing a green tunic and carrying a sword in this Hyrule?” The blond with the pink streaks said with a snarky tone in his voice. He and “Warriors” started an argument.
“What both of them were probably trying to say before the got into an argument was, we would like you to join our group of Links because that’s the name we all have,” the one with the scars said to him with a happy smile, ignoring the screaming in the background.
The hero with the cursed sword started talking:“We should talk about the details before you decide what you're doing at a campfire. And honestly all of us need a break after this disaster. My nickname is Sky by the way because we’ve decided that we couldn't call us all Link when we're traveling together, so we took our hero titles and gave us the right nickname.” Sky's friendly smile made Link more uncomfortable.
After the others introduced themselves with more stupid nicknames, they looked at Link with those expectations that he should tell them his hero title. But he didn't want anything to do with those people because making, losing and regaining friendships was getting boring after a while.
And he wasn’t a hero.
Never had been.
Never will be.
I think we can trus-
”I'm not interested in your little group,” he signed them, his look was cold. He turned his back, starting to leave them behind.
It was better for him to stay alone.
Alone.
As if the voices in his head didn’t count.

"#listen i know exactly how these two meet and how they start dating and it's beautiful and i LOVE THEM" Please tell me everything!
(( in reference to the tags I made on this Ilia x Ashei art ))
HOO, BOY, OKAY - where to begin?  A lot of this is going to be stuff that I didn’t really want to make a post about, because my hopes were that I would eventually write their meeting and eventual dating into a multi-chapter fic of sorts (called “Love & Horses,” and there’s good reason for that, I swear), but I struggle with writing enough as-is, and by the time I do (if ever) get around to it, this post will absolutely be lost to time - so, what the heck!  Lemme gush a little bit.  Some of this I’ve already written about in the description of this wedding piece I had commissioned, but I’ll expand on it a bit here. (Also, shoutout to @therealflurrin for inspiring a lot of this - we somehow fell in love with these two independently of one another, which just goes to show how much potential these two have. Spread the Iliashei love!)
So, what’s important to understand about Ashei (and this is all just my headcanon, of course) going into this is that she was raised alone by her father in the Hebra Mountains, with very sparse and sporadic human contact outside of him.  As she says in-game, he was a “knight in his own right,” and he “taught [her] the arts of war as though [she] was his son” - he taught her how to wield a sword, but unfortunately for her, that was pretty much all he taught her.  He was a troubled man haunted by the ghosts of his past, perhaps, but he was a terrible father, and when Ashei was only fifteen years old she bested him in battle and ran away from home. She was on her own for quite some time, surviving in the harsh wilderness of the frozen wilds, but she did so aimlessly; all she had was her sword, and with nowhere else to turn, she eventually found her way to Hyrule proper, choosing to enlist as a knight solely because she would have a roof over her head and some money in her pocket.  She was only sixteen at the time - she lied and told them she was twenty - and when she bested every captain in the entire royal guard in a single evening, they agreed to take her in.
Another important thing to note is that Ashei’s arrival in Castle Town (and one particular encounter with Princess Zelda herself, but that’s a story for another time) awakens The Gay within her; she’s never really been around so many people before, let alone women her own age.  This has some interesting side effects, namely that Ashei has no idea how to talk to or behave around women, and it plays into the first time she and Ilia (improperly) meet.
So, picture this: a short time after the events of the game, Ilia travels back to Castle Town to visit Telma, whom she bonded following her kidnapping and memory loss.  Ashei is sitting in the bar, sipping on some ale, and she hears someone come in and begin chatting; she thinks nothing of it, of course, until she takes a quick little peak -
- and sees the most drop-dead gorgeous person she has ever seen in her entire life.
She panics.  Face goes completely red, she hides her face in her hand, nearly drops her ale.  Her fight her flight instincts kick in, and she chooses flight, rushing out of the bar before the girl can even notice her, let alone speak to her - and though it’s a few days before she can get the image of her out of her head, eventually things go back to normal, and Ashei finds comfort in the fact that she’ll probably never see that mystery girl again.
Except, y’know - she does.  Because of course she does.
Fast forward a bit, Hyrule Castle is a still a mess of being rebuilt, and the people need something to keep their spirits up - so Zelda is like, f**k it!  Dance time!  An outdoor ball, in the afterglow of twilight, with food and live music and all what have you.  Ashei attends in a full set of royal armor, complete with helm and all the fixings, as she’s only there on guard duty, but just as soon she thinks the night is going to end without incident, who do you think she sees sitting all alone, and does she looks slightly sad or is that a trick of the light, and oh my gods that dress is lovely, was it handmade, did she make it, and what are the chances she would see her again -
Ashei is still quite flustered, of course - only this time it’s different, because here, she isn’t herself.  Here, she’s just a nameless solider among many - she could be anybody - and somehow, someway, she musters up her courage to approach the young woman…and offers her hand in dance.
And I think now would be a good time to talk about Ilia’s side of things; we know a lot more about her story, of course, but it’d probably be good to mention that, yes, she did love Link - and perhaps, once upon a time, he could have loved her, too, but after everything that happened, he was unable to readjust to life back in Ordon, and as we see in the final credits, he leaves, in a scene that tells us almost certainly that he only said goodbye to her.  Ilia goes through quite a lot both during the game and in the months after; romance aside, Link has always been her closest friend, and suddenly he’s so distant from her.  It’s difficult to handle, and as she watches him leave after a few months of struggling with this, with no idea of when or if he’ll return, I guess you could say that she fell out of love out of necessity; he was, and always will be, a very dear friend to her, but the weight of what had happened to both of them had changed them, and their relationship would never be exactly the same as it once was.  It pains her - but she accepts it, and moves on.
So, Link is AWOL for a while, yeah?  Ilia has a lot going through her mind, and like Ashei did before she found a good friend in Shad and a makeshift home in the Resistance, she feels aimless.  On top of that, she’s still dealing with the trauma that being kidnapped had saddled her with, and what sticks with her the most is how helpless she felt waiting for someone else to save her.  Then wouldn’t you know, one day she gets a letter from Telma inviting her to festivities to be held in Castle Town, and Ilia makes up her mind about something.  She packs up her things…and sets off.
The night of the festival, Ilia does take the hand of that mysterious stranger - and as they dance it’s wonderful and magical and lovely and for a time she forgets all of her troubles, but before she can see their face or even learn their name they’re gone, leaving her wanting and curious.  Some time passes, and the festivities come to and end; Ilia makes for Telma’s Bar, where Shad, Ashei, and Auru are unwinding from the night’s events.  Telma introduces the younger woman to the gang, and Ashei almost begins to panic, before she realizes that Ilia would have no way of recognizing her, that Telma was just introducing them to a friend, that this would pass and be done with in no time at all, but then -
“I want to join the Resistance!”
And Ashei is just like,
Ah.
Ah, shit.
This post is getting rather long, so I’m gonna try to wrap things up here - but as you can imagine, hijinks ensue!  Things reach a climax when Ilia insists that Ashei teach her how to fight, and Ashei lashes out and flat-out refuses in a burst of anger, which triggers an episode of “oh my god am I turning into my father oh f**k no” and sends her running, truly panicking this time; Ilia runs after her, of course, and when she finally finds her they get to talking.  Ilia tells her that whatever it is that’s bothering her, she doesn’t have to open up about it now, or tomorrow, or any time soon, but if she ever wants to, she will be there to listen - and then Ilia opens up, about why she joined the Resistance, about her kidnapping and her scars and the horror she’s endured.  She chooses to be vulnerable where Ashei cannot, and then suddenly the mood is lighter, and Ashei is sheepishly admitting that she couldn’t teach her how to fight because she likes her too much, gods be damned, and Ilia is joking about how she never knew she liked girls till now because there were none her age growing up in Ordon, and Ilia thought Ashei liked Shad and Ashei thought Ilia liked Link, except Shad doesn’t like women and Ashei doesn’t like men and Link has been gone for months now, and oh, aren’t they both so stupid - and then they hear music, and Ilia stands and offers Ashei her hand, and in that moment both of them know, y’know?  Ashei still has a lot of stuff she’s got to work through, and it’s not going to be easy by any means, but for now, she can do this much - so she takes Ilia’s hand and the two of them dance into the night, pushing aside their worries till morning’s light.
Do the two of them start dating pretty much immediately?  Yes.  Do they love one another completely and utterly?  Absolutely.  Do they get married and is their wedding super, duper gay?  You bet your ass it is.
There’s a lot more to this that I won’t get into here, including Link’s eventual return (after three years of being away!) and the aftermath of that, and the exact specifics of Ashei’s troubled history with her father and how being with Ilia helps her to heal from it.  On the plus side, Bo becomes like the father that Ashei never had, and fun fact: the two like the arm wrestle!  Like, a lot!  (And Ashei sometimes lets him win.)

Shadows of Hyrule | Chapter 70
It was late in the morning when Link finally trudged out of his room, dragging his feet across the floor as he made his way downstairs. He had hardly slept - for obvious reasons - and only managed to catch a few hours after Mipha made her sneaky escape. On the plus side, he was officially on summer vacation, and he had the entire summer to sleep.
With the exception of Ganondorf’s ominous return.
His sister sat at the table, her legs swinging under the chair as she colored in a coloring book. Link sat himself with a sigh beside her. His stomach was growling, but he wasn’t ready to put in any effort into making food. He looked around, noticing then his father’s absence.
“Where’s Dad?”
“He had to run to work for a little bit,” Aryll said without looking up from her coloring.
“Oh.”
“I wanted Mipha to make me breakfast,” she continued as she scribbled away.
“Why would she do that?”
“Because you were having a sleepover and I wasn’t invited.”
Link practically jumped up in his seat. His gaze narrowed on his sister. “How do you know that?”
“Because I saw her. Duh.”
“Don’t tell Dad,” Link snapped.
Aryll paused her coloring, meeting Link’s gaze with a frown. “Why?”
“Because he can’t know, okay?” he said, flustered.
Aryll looked at him curiously. “Why?”
“Because - Just - Because I said so, alright? Just keep your mouth shut.”
Aryll crossed her arms. “That’s not very nice.”
Link rolled his eyes. “Promise, please, Ary?”
Aryll’s gaze narrowed on him for a moment, then she shrugged and returned to her coloring. “Fine,” she said. “But only if you let me paint your nails.”
Link groaned, but agreed to her terms. He found the energy to make himself a bowl of cereal, and once his stomach was silenced, he moved to his room to dress, returning to the living room to await his fate. Aryll already had the nail polish out, organizing them on the coffee table in rainbow order. Link slouched on the couch and clicked on the tv as his sister set to work painting his toes.
She had finished one foot when their father entered, but Aryll took no notice, too busy painting her brother's toenails in lively colors.
His father took one look at his son, snorted, and grinned. “Ah, how the tables have turned, Sucker.”
Link rolled his eyes.
“Link said I could paint all his toes if I kept my mouth shut about Mipha sleeping over in his room.”
Link yanked his foot back from her angrily. Her jaw dropped at the realization that she had spilled the beans. She jumped up suddenly, spilling the contents of the open nail polish bottle, and jumped forward towards Link, narrowly missing his groin as she pulled at his shirt.
“I'm so sorry, Link!”
Link grunted, his hands moving to protect himself. “Get off!”
But she continued to pull and shake him. “I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!” After a moment of this, she flung herself on top of the couch, her arms dangling as she regarded her father with an apologetic look on her face. “I fibbed, Daddy,” she said. “Don't ban Mipha from coming over ever again!”
Their father looked between them for a moment, still standing in the kitchen as the spectacle took place before his eyes. After a moment, he grinned, laughed, and moved across the room. When he passed his son, he hit him upside his head. “At least he won't die a virgin,” he said to seemingly no one as he rounded the corner to make his way upstairs.
Aryll turned to her brother questioningly. “What's a virgin?”
“Nothing,” Link muttered.
“It can’t be nothing,” Aryll said stubbornly.
“Are you done with my damn feet?”
Aryll moved to pick up the nail polish bottle that was on the floor. She hurried into the kitchen to grab some towels, then returned to attempt to clean up the spill she had caused. Most of the polish simply smeared and would require additional efforts, but Link couldn’t have cared less at that moment. When Aryll finally gave up, she looked up at her brother with big, sweet, innocent eyes, and stated “I still have some more toes to do or they will look funny.”
“They already look funny,” Link said with a sigh as he settled back into the couch. “Hurry up.”
Aryll sprang up gleefully and sat herself on the couch, taking her brother’s foot once more and set back to work. “Are you gonna show Mipha later?”
“Yeah,” Link said with a roll of his eyes. “Sure. She’ll love ‘em.”
Aryll nodded, still concentrating on painting her brother’s toes. “Almost as much as she loves you.”
Aryll spent another half an hour perfecting Link’s toes and blowing them dry before finally releasing her brother from the torture. He wiggled his toes in faux admiration, then got up to retrieve his phone, dialing Mipha’s number.
“You know,” she said, answering the call. “You’re supposed to wait three days so I won’t think you’re needy or something.”
Link grinned. “I’m needy.”
“Clearly.”
“I just had my toe nails painted by Ary,” he whined. He chose to leave out the bit about her spilling the beans to their father. “I need an excuse to get out of here before she starts braiding my hair.”
“So, now I’m just an excuse?” Mipha feigned being hurt. “And here I thought we had something special.”
“Okay, goodbye,” Link said.
“Wait,” Mipha said quickly. “I promised Urbosa we could hang out today.”
Link’s gaze narrowed as he spoke. He was sure that could only mean gossip. “So you can give her all the juicy details?” If a blush could have been heard, Link heard it.
“What?” she started, then laughed nervously. “No. What? Goddess, Link. No. What. No. No!”
“You’re a good liar. But if you could at least work in somewhere that I’m a proficient and passionate lover, that would be great.”
“Proficient?” Mipha repeated. “That’s a big word for you. Who you trying to impress?”
“Just trying to give myself an edge in the dating world for when you find something better.”
“I thought you were a catch?”
“Well, I sure like to think so.”
“Alright, Fabio,” Mipha said with a sigh. “I guess you can tag along.”
“Great,” Link said. “Let me just put on my heels. Ary did an excellent job painting my toes.”
*****
Mipha made sure to warn Urbosa in advance that Link would be with her, and thus blowing their plans of gossiping all together, but as it worked out, Riju had insisted on tagging along as well, quickly and easily convincing Revali that they needed a rematch against Link. By the afternoon, Hyrule’s six Champions, including Riju, Teba - and now that school was out - Suki, had found themselves between the park and the soccer field, Riju bouncing a soccer ball from knee to knee. She looked up just as Mipha and Link approached, making the group complete.
“Finally!” Riju shouted, drawing the attention of the group to Mipha and Link. They were hand in hand and either in the midst of conversation, or simply staring lovingly into each other's eyes, which the group assumed to be the more plausible explanation. Riju's outburst brought them out of their gaze, however, and they turned their attention curiously onto their friends.
Riju bounded up and down, clapping her hands together. She pointed to Mipha and Link, then to herself, then back to the new couple excitedly. “I called that, you guys, you heard it, I called it. I knew it! I told ya! I did that!”
Urbosa put a hand on her hip and shook her head, grinning. “Yeah, sure, Riju, you called it.”
“So, this is finally a thing, now?” Zelda said. “Officially? The ship is sailing?”
Mipha's brows knit together, her cheeks turning a soft shade of pink. “The ship?”
“Apparently everyone knew it but the two of you,” Teba said with a tone of disinterest.
“I was starting to wonder if Link would be single for the rest of his life,” Revali said with a smirk.
“That doesn't say much for me,” Mipha muttered. Link elbowed her playfully in the ribs.
“Ignore them,” Urbosa said, waving her hand at them.
“I’m not here for gossip,” Revali said, clapping his hands together. “I’m here to kick Link’s ass.” He grabbed the ball from Riju and grinned devilishly at Link.
“Shirts!” Riju yelled. “Me and Revali, you and Daruk.”
Link turned a helpless gaze to his friend. “Can’t you just punch him?”
“I’m not losing to Revali,” Daruk said. “And definitely not Riju.”
Link sighed, pulling his shirt over his head as he jogged after the four of them onto the field. Once the game started, Teba and Suki had wandered off, leaving Urbosa, Mipha, and Zelda alone to watch the game.
Urbosa put a hand on her hip and grinned at Mipha. “You hit that.”
Mipha yelped lightly and buried her face in her hands.
Zelda turned to her in surprise. “You hit that?”
Urbosa nodded. “She hit that.”
“Can we stop saying that?” Mipha muttered.
Urbosa shrugged. “You fucked? Screwed? Made love?” She bent over and grinned. “He put his dick in your -”
“Urbosa!”
“You promised me details!”
“I hate you,” Mipha muttered.
“Remember last time?” Urbosa said, reminiscing happily. “We were right here when I told ya you needed to get laid. And you finally took my advice.” She patted Mipha’s head. “My little girl is all grown up.”
Mipha groaned loudly. She turned her attention on the game, which had apparently stopped for a moment while Urbosa was teasing her. A group of young children had swarmed the field, jumping up and down around the players. One made a muscle with his arms, and Daruk was clearly pretending to be impressed with the little guy’s biceps. Another made shooting motions with his arms, as if shooting a bow, and Revali was in all of his glory as he signed an autograph for the child. A couple more were fighting with imaginary swords, while the other was telling an apparently very thrilling and animated story to Link, judging by the way his hands circled around him and made what appeared to be explosion gestures. Riju shared in this child’s excitement, engaging just as excitedly in the conversation.
“You’re totally gonna have his babies,” Urbosa said.
Mipha met her gaze. She hadn’t realized she was smiling while watching Link.

Tumblr media
As you follow your parents through the long and silent corridors of the hospital, you can surely say that you feel much better.
Becca gave birth to a beautiful baby boy; and you have never seen her happier. She and Jackson looked so felicitous with their newborn in Becca’s arms, that you couldn’t but shed a tear. For the first time during this day it wasn’t a sad cry; you were really happy.
Your sister needed rest after the tough night of labor; so you and your parents decided it would be better for you to leave. And now you are going home, back to your apartment, April and sorrows.
“Sweetheart, are you okay?” your mum lightly touches your hand; you give her a fake smile in response. You can’t tell her the truth; and was there ever even a slight bit of truth about you and Gwil? Everything your parents know about this relationship is built on lies. You can’t tell her that you fell in love with your sugar daddy but he proposed to another sugar baby, and that’s why you’re heartbroken. You simply can’t.
“Just tired”, you smile weakly. “Can’t even imagine how Becca’s still able to talk and, y’know; behave as a normal human being after having such an experience”. Your mum lets out a laugh.
“Becca is strong. And she likes being the center of attention, so her desire to talk is quite understandable”.
“Put it this way, love”, your father joins the conversation, “Becca just wants everyone to praise her. That’s her character”.
“She deserves that praise”, you say.
Your father smiles. “Of course she does. She’s a hero”.
When your parents offer to give you a ride, you refuse, saying Janet is supposed to pick you up; you lie, once again. You’re not ashamed of yourself – you wouldn’t survive if you never lied. That’s just another deception. Just another delusion for your parents and you to believe in.
No one’s here to pick you up. Janet is probably having fun at that party, Billy’s sleeping, and Gwil… You sigh deeply. You just can’t continue doing it to yourself anymore. One more thought about Gwilym, one more memory – and you’re sure you’ll jump off of some building. You won’t make it through the night if you continue thinking about him.
He’s gone. He’s engaged to Alice. He’s not yours. He has never been yours. That’s all that you have to know for moving on.  But you simply don’t know how; Gwil has been a part of your life for ten months, you can’t just move on. That’s not possible.
When you get into the cab, you’re on the verge of crying again; all the bliss, given by Becca’s baby boy, is gone. You look through the car window – the streets of London are full of people on this Friday night. All of them are having fun, laughing and just enjoying themselves; and even if they have some troubles in their life, they simply forget about them while drinking tons of alcohol. If you do the same thing, you’d end up on Gwilym’s doorstep. You know that for sure.
Almost twenty minutes later you come back home; it’s silent there, as usual. You don’t even turn the lights on – you don’t want to see what kind of mess your flat is now. “Probably as messy as I am”, you think when you sit down on the couch.
On the floor, right in front of you, there is a bag. The bag. You take a deep breath before reaching your hand to it; you have to look through the stuff you took from Gwil’s apartment. You had to do that to cope with your feelings, to try to move on. You can’t let yourself drown in your sorrows, not being able to throw away everything related to him. You need to get rid of the memories. You have to do that just in case. Just to realize if the pain is still that strong.
The red flannel shirt is the first thing that you put out of the bag.
And you can’t even comprehend how much pain it causes you. It makes your chest ache, and you feel like your heart is going to explode.
And there you have enough of your weak attempts in moving on.
You burst into tears, squeezing the shirt in your hands; it still smells like him. Because it’s his, it’s his shirt. The one he says he hates so much, that he didn’t even protest when you borrowed it. The memories of this day are still fresh, and you let yourself drown in them, you give in. You can’t fight, you’re not that powerful. You can’t move on, you’re not that strong to do this. You want to drown in your sorrows, because it’s the only way to be with him now.
Still crying, you put the shirt over your shoulders. “Looks good on you”, Gwil used to say when you wore it. “It was a lie”, you whisper while curling up on the couch; you keep sobbing and wrapping the shirt around yourself. “Another lie to play with me”, you say under your breath, tears still streaming down your cheeks when you doze off. Your sleep isn’t peaceful; you dream about Gwilym, again and again.

                                                     September.
“So you agree?”
You looked into the contract one more time; you furrowed your brows just to seem focused. To be honest, you’ve lost the ability to concentrate the moment you saw Gwil inside of the restaurant. He looked like the fucking Adonis in his dark-grey three-piece suit, and you couldn’t get the image of him roughly lifting you up from your seat and fucking you right on this table till you see the stars. You kept reminding yourself that it wasn’t right, that you just met him seven hours ago. You had no idea who he was until he approached you in that posh shop.
At one point you started doubting whether you needed that or not; but then you realized one simple thing. This beautiful, heavenly looking man was offering you the life you could never afford. Alright, maybe if you worked yourself to death – maybe then you could afford buying expensive clothes and jewelry. Also being alone for a year and a half had its own influence – and by that you certainly meant a badly hidden desire to have sex with Gwilym right there and then.
You sighed deeply, as you looked through the rules. They weren’t bad; as they weren’t, by no means, crossing any lines in any way. They were normal. They were adequate. You couldn’t ask for more. That was your chance to get free cash and hook up with a pretty dude. You couldn’t miss such an opportunity.
“I do”.

rule №7. no contact with each other’s families and friends.
                                                        March.
“Someone get this goddamn door!”
Your mother’s scream was able to bring dead back to life; but now it only made you realize that you might lose your hearing, if she shouted like that one more time.
“Haven't you people ever heard of closing the goddamn door?” Billy seemed to notice the way you winced when you heard your mother’s loud voice; and that’s why he decided to proclaim the song’s lyrics right into your ear. It made you growl, and you turned around to hit him on the shoulder.
“Idiot!” you said. “Go get the door”.
“I’m too busy to do that”.
You raised your eyebrows at him in disbelief; Billy was just messing around while his mother and you were helping your mum with preparing food and guests. Your dad and Becca with Jackson were of great help, too; everyone was doing something except for this dumbass. He grinned widely, seeing your frustration. “Besides, t’s not my house. I’m not allowed to open doors and, y’know, behave wildly”.
“Swift, for fuck’s sake, you’ve spent more time in this house than anywhere else”, you sighed. “And you certainly opened the doors for, like, million times”.
“But-“
“Billy!” his mother stormed into the kitchen “Stop wandering around and go get the door!” she took the bowl with fruits into her hands. “Or I’ll make you chat with Zelda!” she added before heading to the dining room. Billy’s eyes widened and he seemed to start trembling the second he heard your aunt’s name; so he left the kitchen immediately. You chuckled; this day was already a piece of work. Every time such a big family gathering happened, you knew that something would eventually be fucked up. Today was no exception, as it was your mother’s fiftieth birthday.
She wanted to have both her sisters, three best friends with their children and, of course, her own family present at such an important event. Three best friends included Mrs. Swift with her dumbass of a son Billy, Mrs. Johnson, and Mrs. Raymonds with her daughter Alexis and son James.
James had been a pain in your ass today since the moment he entered the house. You expected to successfully avoid talking to him, but it seemed as if he wanted to speak to you more than anything. You couldn’t really understand why. You hadn’t communicated properly for four years, right since your breakup, and you didn’t really want to; firstly, because before you were too invested in your relationship and split with Luke, and now because of Gwilym.
You closed your eyes and let out a sigh. How you wished to have Gwil here now; you knew that with him everything would be so much better. And, moreover, if Gwil was here, James wouldn’t be bothering you. You couldn’t tell him to fuck off; you were too nice for that. Besides, you didn’t want to ruin the “normal” relationship that you two had – if it was possible to call it like that.
He was not only your childhood friend, but your ex, your first kiss, your first sex and your first heartbreak. Every “first” that happened to you was connected to James; and no matter how much thankful you were to him for giving you a necessary experience, you couldn’t but regret your decision to date your mum’s best friend’s son at the age of fourteen. If you never saw him again, everything would be so much easier. All just because he was awfully clingy and tedious; it seemed as if he had never grown up and was still stuck in high school. And he was an idiot in high school.
“You need help?” As your back was facing the kitchen’s entrance, you couldn’t miss the opportunity to roll your eyes when you heard James’s voice. It took you everything not to tell him to fuck off, as you put a fake smile on your face and turned around to see him standing near the fridge. A couple of steps more – and he would be right in front of you. Disgusting.”No; but thank you for the offer, James”.
“Oh, Y/N”, he smiled and moved a bit forward; your fists tightened and you clenched your jaw, still smiling. “You’re always welcome”.
Please, dear God. Save me from this monstrosity.
Billy was humming the song about the poor groom and his whore-bride as he approached the door; he was happy enough to avoid talking to aunt Zelda for a while. She was the most annoying person he had ever met, and she also hated him to death; so opening the door was quite a good opportunity.
A tall dude in a suit with bouquet of flowers on Y/L/N’s house’s doorstep surprised Billy; as he was 5’6” himself, everyone taller than that seemed like a giant to him. And this really handsome pal was certainly intimidating. “You alright, mate?” Billy examined him from heat to foot; the suit was totally expensive and the man himself looked like a fucking duke.
“Is Y/N here?” his voice was deep and a bit husky; Billy furrowed his brows – he had no idea you were aquianted with someone from the Royal Family.
“Y/N!” he screamed. “That’s for you!”
When James was almost standing near you, Billy’s voice saved your day. “Thank God!” you shouted in response and flew out of the kitchen; no matter who was there, you were happy enough it happened. You saw Billy standing in front of the open door; leaning to the doorway, that was leading from the hall to the living room, you let out a sigh of relief. You didn’t even see who was at the door; and at the moment you didn’t care, as you stood there, panting, with your eyes closed.
“Fucking James”, you breathed. “I hate this fucking wanker so much, you don’t even know, Billy”.
“Oh no, I do, trust me, Y/L/N. ‘Cause I hate him more”.
“If I hear his fucking voice one more time, I swear-“
“Who’s James?”
You couldn’t believe it; did the voice that you heard belong to Gwilym? Your eyes went round; and when you finally saw him, standing on your parents’ house’s doorstep, your eyes lit up and your mouth curved into a smile. He was there.
“Gwil”, you mouthed. He beamed, and his whole face lit up when he saw you. Or maybe it just seemed to you that it did.
“Y/N”, he said, “hey”.
“I’m Billy!” he chimed in, resting his chin on your shoulder; your smile faded as your rolled your eyes at him.
“Swift, go to the kitchen and help our mums”, you said quickly. He huffed.
“And talk to Raymonds? No, thank you.”
As you kept maintaining eye contact with Gwil, you couldn’t but close your eyes and let out an exasperated sigh. “Billy”, you said through gritted teeth, “go and help our mums”.
“Y/L/N-“
“Billy!” you turned around; if it was possible to burn someone down with just one simple gaze, Billy would have been dead already. “Go and do it, while I’m asking you nicely!” you pinched his shoulder so strongly, that he jumped and let out a squeak.
“Alright!” he raised his hands. “I’ll do anything if you stop hitting and pinching me. Bloody woman”, he mumbled, while leaving.
“Sorry about him”, you looked back at Gwil; he was still smiling at you. “He’s just twelve, really”.
“Is that your best friend you told me about?”
“Yeah”. Only then you noticed he was holding a bouquet of lilies.
“That’s my mum’s favourite flowers”, you said quietly. “How’d you know?”
His gaze was fixed on your face; and you couldn’t but look away because you felt extremely flustered.
“You said it once. I remembered”.
You melted like an ice-cream under the scorching sun. He remembered that? It took your father twenty-seven years of marriage to memorize his wife’s favorite flowers, and here was Gwil – remembering about it for some time. You didn’t even know how to react.
But then you realized one thing. He was not supposed to be here. He was your sugar daddy; and one of the rules was not to have any contact with each other’s families of friends. What exactly was he doing here?
“What are you doing here?” you asked. “You said you gonna have a business trip”.
He smiled. “I deferred it to the next weekend. Couldn’t leave my girl alone with her, as she says that, crazy family”.
My girl. Of course, you heard him say that million times; but something was different now, you could feel it in your bones.
You smiled like an idiot, while he was taking off his coat; he beamed at you back, and there you were – two grinning idiots, who stood in your parents’ house’s hallway. That was so much you wanted to tell him; how thankful you were that he came, but mostly you wanted to kiss him softly and whisper “I love you in between kisses.
“You’re gonna regret it”, you say instead. “They’re embarrassing”.
He chuckled and took your hand; Gwil pressed a sweet kiss to your knuckles. “I will never regret a minute spent with you. Even if your family is embarrassing”. He pulled you closer, and you were perfectly safe and sound in his arms. The flowers, lying on the little sofa in the hallway, were long forgotten, as well as guests, food and the world. Gwil was warm and lovely, and you closed your eyes, resting your head in the crook of his neck. You would stay like this forever. You didn’t need anything, anyone else, but him, just him, only him. You had no idea why he was there, when he could be somewhere else, with another sugar baby, having sex and buying jewelry. But he was there, with you.
“You are stunning”, he whispered in your ear. “Red looks good on you”. You let out a chuckle against his neck. God, that was so silly.
“You bought me this dress, after all”, you answered quietly. Gwil hummed in response and kissed your hair; you pulled away from his neck, catching him staring at you in awe. You lost yourself in his blue eyes, lost yourself forever in his mesmeric gaze. Was this love? For you, yeah. For you, it was everything you ever wanted – it seemed that Gwilym walked into your life in that dark-blue suit at the end of the September right from your dreams. You didn’t even know when exactly you fell in love with him – but you knew it was more than just a simple arrangement now. At least for you.
“It’s not the point, baby”, his fingers traced different shapes on your back and Gwil could certainly feel you shivering under the dress. “You look good in everything”. He pressed a kiss on your forehead, and you both smiled. It was perfect.
“You must be the mysterious guy Y/N always talks about!” You let out a squeak and jumped back from Gwilym in an instant; your sister was leaning onto the doorframe and grinning impishly. You pressed a hand to your chest and cursed under your breath. “I’m Becca, her elder sister”, her and Gwil shook hands and you couldn’t but roll your eyes; Becca was up to something. You didn’t like the thought of it; any idea of your sister always turned out to be a disaster.
You all walked in the dining-room; and the whole place went from a loud chat to complete silence. Aunt Zelda, as you noticed, was examining Gwil thoroughly. You furrowed your brows and rolled your eyes; your aunt was evidently interested in a good-looking man who just walked in with you. You let out an exasperated sigh and rolled your eyes once again, this time thinking that they may just stay inside of your head if you do that one more time. You saw Billy barely holding back his hysterical laugh, when you sat down at the table; you stopped yourself from slapping your forehead and throwing something at Swift. Your attention was drawn to Becca and Jackson as they were having whispered conversation, while looking at you and Gwil. James looked confused, when you gave him a brief look; his opinion was the last one you were interested in. You were so invested in observing everyone’s reaction that you missed the main one – your mum’s.
“….boyfriend?”
You frowned hearing the scraps of the conversation; you turned your head and caught your mum and dad talking to Gwilym. You looked at them, being disoriented, as you heard him saying that. “Yes, I am. I’m Y/N’s boyfriend”.
You tilted your head, still furrowing your brows. Boyfriend?
“I’m Y/N’s boyfriend”, for fuck’s sake, what?
“Holy shit”, you almost mumbled, still staying bewildered; he didn’t just say what he said, did he?
Boyfriend? No. He was not your boyfriend. He was the exact opposite. He bought you expensive shit and fucked you into oblivion. He was your sugar daddy. He was providing you with money and taking you to luxurious resorts to spend the weekend there. He made an arrangement, came up with rules for both of you to follow. He had other women as his sugar babies, whom he fucked too. He was a boss in the huge ass company. He was a literal Disney Prince. He was this, and not your boyfriend.
But he took care of you when you were terribly sick after your romantic getaway in Aspen. He held you tightly when you were crying. He cuddled you until you fell asleep in his arms, both of you beaming. He praised every part of your body. He wrote you cute letters every day, saying how much he adored you. He told you he was proud of you when you got a promotion. He made you a bubble bath with candles lit around and sweet music playing on the background. He did facemasks with you while watching your favorite shows. He told you he didn’t want to let you go. He made you feel valued and protected, for the first time after two failed relationships. He made you feel as if it wasn’t just an arrangement. He made you feel like he loved you.
Your heart skipped a beat at this thought. Loved you? No, that was ridiculous. Gwilym couldn’t love you; he could love Alice, a small pretty thing with her piercing gaze and gracious movements; or his other sugar baby, Zoe, with her husky voice and plump lips. He could love someone much more skinnier than you, someone not that tall, and someone not that awkward. He was way out of your league; and still, somehow, he was there, at your family’s gathering, talking to your relatives and resting his hand on your thigh.  He was there, with you, not anywhere else. He was there.
You exchanged glances, smiled at each other; throughout the whole evening he never stopped whispering into your ear about how beautifully you looked. He held your hand and kissed it, when there was an opportunity. Gwil was talking to your dad about science and business, like your father had a clue about any of those things; he even chatted with Billy for a moment, which made you smile lightly. It seemed to you that every time he looked at you, his eyes lit up.  And for a moment you knew - he was yours. Only yours.

rule №2. accept every gift that is given.
                                                     February.
It was so good.
The sound of Gwil’s skin clapping against yours, the way he gripped your hips and sucked on the skin in the crook of your neck made you arch your back, your breasts pressing into his chest. He growled, and it sent shivers down your spine. His thrusts were now faster, as he was as close as you.
“You like it like that, right, baby?”
You were clinging onto him as if it was the matter of life and death; and it was, indeed. He was giving you what you needed. Finally. “Yes, daddy”, you mouthed. “I’m so close”, you were breathing hard and saying these words wasn’t very easy as well; but it was what he wanted – you spoke. Gwil thrusted into you harshly, burying himself inside of you so deeply that you could only scream his name in pleasure. It seemed that you both had forgotten about the little game you played. You were more than happy to realize that; even though you were terribly wrong about Gwilym.
He started moving slower in you and then pulled out; your eyes were wide open the second he did that. What the actual fuck?
You rose on your elbows; your brows drew together as you watched this asshole slyly grin. “You said…” you were panting. “You said…you…”
“That I’ll let you cum in the bedroom?” he replied. “That’s true”, he shrugged his shoulders. “But you didn’t catch one little thing, love”, Gwil was hovering over you again. “By that I meant master bedroom. And this”, he pressed a kiss on your lips, “This is certainly not the master bedroom”.
You looked at him with wide eyes and sighed loudly. In a master bedroom? “There are seven bedrooms in this house”, you mumbled, when you head fell back onto the pillows. He was kidding, right? He didn’t let you cum neither in the kitchen nor in the living room, and promised you’d come in the bedroom – but now, turned out that he was just messing with you? You covered your eyes with your hand and sighed deeply. This was going to be a long ride; and with Gwil’s desire to edge you until you were begging and telling him exactly what he wanted – you knew you would be exhausted as fuck.
“This can end very quickly, y’know it, love”, he hovered over you, you could feel it; your eyes were still closed and jaw clenched tightly. You didn’t want to give in. You didn’t start playing this game just to let him win in the end.
It wasn’t exactly a game, though. You were just rejecting his gift, and that’s all. The only thing was that not accepting the present was another violation of rules. And, also, that his gift was a fucking three-storied house. A freaking mansion with a huge garage, a back garden, and, like, fifty rooms. He just said, “It’s a simple gift, love”, and you jaw fell open at his words. Simple fucking gift; the one you never asked for. That was too much. Money, Cartier bracelets, diamond necklaces and designer clothes were great and amazing, but the house? You knew Gwil couldn’t get enough of spoiling, but he crossed the line here, even for a sugar daddy. Even for this type of relationship buying a house was too much.
But he, apparently, didn’t think so. He kept on insisting it didn’t mean anything, that he didn’t even spend that much money on it. Your blood was boiling, and you could feel your ass burning with anger.
Now your ass was burning too, but because of how much Gwil was spanking you. You were ready to come undone just cause of it, but this asshole didn’t let you. He wouldn’t let you come until you accepted the gift. And even though you really liked the house, you couldn’t just agree on his terms and take it. No. It was too much. Even for such a rich dude like Gwil.
“I just have to accept your gift and shut up, right?” you said through gritted teeth. Gwil furrowed his brows, and took your hand from your face. Your eyes were open as you were looking at him irritably.
“I never told you to shut up”, his tone was serious as he was staring you in the eyes. “And it’s not what I meant. You know that”. He sounded offended; you suddenly felt guilty about your behavior. You were acting like a bitch the second you saw the house, and said some stupid shit, like “I hate this fucking house". He shouldn’t have bought it, but you shouldn’t be a brat about it either. He did  it not 'cause he wanted to buy you, no; he did it because that’s how he showed his affection. And it was part of your arrangement, part of then rules after all; he always sticked to them, unlike you.
“I do”, you cupped his face in your hands, looking at him softly. “I know that you don’t mean anything like that”, you pressed a lingering kiss to his lips. He kissed you back eagerly, putting his hands on your waist and pulling himself lower, closer to you. You both were naked, aroused and hungry for each other. You pulled away trying to catch your breath. “But I still can’t accept this gift, Gwil”.
Gwilym let out a loud groan as he rolled over to another side of the bed. “Why’s that, Y/N?” he tried to sound neutrally but you could feel irritation coming out of his whole body.
“Baby, I told you already”, you sighed tiredly. “The house’s too big, too expensive. I can’t accept it”.
“It’s a gift, love”, he ran his fingers through his hair. “You don’t have to think about its price”.
You rolled over to face him, but he wasn’t looking at you; he lied on his back, breathing heavily with eyes closed. Too annoyed to even speak to you. And even though he wouldn’t speak to you through his mouth, you knew through what he would certainly answer you. If he said “no” to it, you would never insist on keep going. You were both keeping each other comfortable, always.
He was still rock hard and you had to restrain yourself from moaning. He might have been a huge ass with the whole edging thing today, but you wanted him like crazy, always and constantly.
 He let out a groan when you straddled him. You tried your best to keep a straight face, but you were so fucking wet that no facial expression could save you.Gwil felt that; thinking that you were insisting on continuation of the sex, he put his hands on your hips, trying to make you move; but you had other plans for him. You took his hands off of you and put them on his sides. “What will people say when they learn I’m living in such a big house?” you traced circles on his chest with your fingers; he drew in a long breath, gripping the sheets. “No one would believe I’m able to even rent it. I’m not really rich, baby”, you kept maintaining eye-contact; him inside of you and neither of you moving.
“Fuck them”, he whispered. He made you feel like a goddess just by looking at you that lovingly and hungrily. You moaned at the thought, and Gwil took this chance to putting his hands on your hips again. You raised an eyebrow and brushed his hands off. He didn’t let you cum. Now you were going to torture him for a little bit as well.
“No touching, Gwil. You can’t do that unless I say so”.
He licked his lips and grinned, surprised by your sudden dominance. He liked seeing you like this: confident and naked. Gwil’s favorite moods of yours.
“Shit, Y/N”, he grunted. “You feel amazing. So tight and beautiful”.
You gasped; Gwil was well aware of the effect his words had upon you, and he smiled, no, he fucking grinned, looking at you, almost twirling in ecstasy already.
The smug look on his face vanished when you started rocking your hips against him. Moving up and down his cock, you moaned and clung on his chest with your nails. He hissed, gripped the sheets tightly but never touched you. You rode him fast and needy, trying to reach your climax sooner than he noticed. “Feels so good”, you whined. Sweaty, greedy, whimpering, with head tilted back and nails digging in his chest – just the sight of you like this could make Gwil lose control. He wanted to thrust into you harshly, touch you everywhere, run his fingers through your hear and caress your face as you rode you both to orgasm – but he followed your rules. Not only 'cause he liked that, but also because he wanted to show you that obedience wasn’t too bad. Although he would certainly disagree with it right now, when he couldn’t even kiss you. “Touch me”, you breathed, needing his hands on you. God, you needed him in so many ways.
“Finally”.
He squeezed your breasts immediately; you moaning echoed in the room, making him even more turned on than he already was. Your walls clenched against him, and no matter how much he wanted to continue your little game, he wanted to fuck you properly more. He wanted to hear you screaming, wanted to see your face when you cum. God, he wanted all of you just to him.
You felt your orgasm coming in any moment, and you bit your lip to hold back moans, so that Gwil wouldn’t stop. But he didn’t even intend to. Not this time. “Come on, baby”, he whispered, caressing your sides, “come for me”.
Gwilym’s words made you lose it, lose all the power you thought you had. You fell onto him, burying your face in the crook of his neck, as he was fucking you now, hitting that exact spot inside you that drove you crazy. “Gwil”, you panted against his neck; and  your hot breath sending shivers down his spine and making him thrust into you harder. “I’m gonna cum”, you said in an unsteady voice, while gripping his shoulders and digging your nails in there.
“Let go, baby”.
He let out a pure animalistic growl and suddenly flipped you over, so you were underneath him. He attacked your lips with his, giving you the most heated and loving kiss in your life. You wrapped your legs around his waist so that he could have a batter access to hit your g-spot; with your hands on his neck, you didn’t let him to break the kiss, deepening it, trying to fight for dominance. But dominance was his thing in bedroom.
He buried himself so deep inside of you that you two could only moan into each other’s mouths; you both reached your highs together, skin to skin, in unison, screaming one another’s names and grabbing the sheets. You both needed that.
Some minutes later, when you came down from your high Gwil left a delicate kiss on your forehead and got up; throwing the used condom into the trash, he turned around and saw you lying down with your hand covering your face. The blissful smile on your face and steady breathing told him that you were ready to nod off.
“Falling asleep on me, aren’t ya?” he lied down next to you; Gwil took your hand and pressed a kiss to it.
You took a deep breath. “Just give me a couple of minutes”, your reply was weak; Gwilym chuckled and smacked your ass playfully. You giggled and turned your face to him; you struggled to even open your eyes.
“Let’s get some sleep, love”, Gwil said quietly. He adjusted your pillows and put a blanket over the two of you; after he pulled your closer, your back on his chest, and his arms wrapped around you. He kissed you hair and you smiled sleepily.
“I still can’t accept your gift”, you continued your almost long-forgotten argument. Gwilym took in a deep breath and buried his face in your hair.
“I can’t argue with you anymore”, he mumbled, “I’ll accept any decision you make, Y/N”.
“Thank you”, you whispered. “But I love this house”, he chuckled at your words.
“I know. I did everything here like you love it. Just for you”.
You smiled lightly and hummed in response. “Wake me up in ten minutes”, you said leaning in closer to him. “I’ll be ready to continue till we get to the master bedroom”. Gwilym pressed a warm kiss to your shoulder.
“This is the master bedroom now”.
As you nodded off, feeling warm and safe in Gwil’s arms, you were beaming; when your mind was drowning in drowsiness, you felt a warm breath on your neck and heard Gwilym’s voice saying softly, “I love you so much, Y/N”. But you knew it was just a dream. Reality couldn’t give you something like this. Never.
                                         ╰╮✾╭╯✯╰╮✾╭╯
rule №6. no contact with other sugar babies.
                                                December.
“When you’re gonna be home?”
You locked your phone after texting Gwil; you didn’t want to bother him, but it was Christmas Eve and you weren’t amused by spending it alone in his empty penthouse. He was called for work, and promised you to come back in three hours. The clock struck five in the evening. Gwil left at ten A.M.
You sighed deeply as you looked at the served table. You wanted to surprise him by cooking a festive dinner; it wasn’t like you were a chef, on the contrary – you couldn’t cook for shit. But, as you planned this thing, you googled some recipes and tried to cook something simple, but yet delicious. You had strange desire to be domestic with Gwilym – to cook food, do laundry, clean the house, and take kids from school… You didn’t even know when you first started imagining you two living a happy, suburban life in a pretty house with three children. Before Gwil you didn’t want kids. Now you were questioning all of your life choices. You were never able to have hook ups and not catch feelings. And this was certainly just a “hook up”, as you thought in the beggining. Only now it was much more.
“Soon, baby. I promise”.
His text gave you hope; his “soon” could be in ten minutes. You looked over the table in panic, quickly lighting candles. You ran to the nearest room; looking yourself up and down in the mirror, you twisted a ring on your index finger nervously. This green dress was exactly what Gwilym liked: it was tight, giving a perfect opportunity to observe all of your curves, and also very short. The color wasn’t exactly in the style of Christmas, but red lace lingerie underneath the dress was quite in the mood of the holiday. You knew Gwil would have gone crazy the second he came back home. He gave you  so much during those months and you just wanted to get him a pleasant reward; and you were also head over heels for him. That was pretty simple.
Suddenly you heard heels clattering on the marble floor of the living room; you frowned, trying to understand who was there. Was Gwil wearing heels? You wouldn’t be surprised at that. Or was it Gwil’s sister again? Not that you didn’t like her, you just wanted him all to yourself tonight; even though you weren’t against spending time with his family.
“Heather?” you called while heading back to the living-room.
It wasn’t Heather.
It was a girl in a coat and high-heeled ankle boots; her eyes were gleaming in the dark as she was reading the note she took from Gwil’s plate.
“Unwrap your gift”, she said; she raised her head and looked at you haughtily. “Who are you?”
“And you?” you asked in confusion. “How did you come in?”
“The door’s was open”.
“No, it was not”.
You stared at each other, trying to burn yourselves with your glares; you had a strong feeling that it was one of Gwilym’s other two sugar babies.
“I assume you’re Y/N”, she sat down at the table, at Gwil’s place. “You got a nice dinner here”.
“Thanks”, you squeaked. You already felt helpless and hopeless in front of her; she was this black-haired goddess with a sly grin on her face. She was confident. You weren’t like that. “That’s actually…” you were speaking quietly. “That’s for Gwil”.
She huffed. “Of course, it is. I’m Alice, if you don’t know that”, it felt like you were supposed to know her name and whom  she was. It seemed like she was the one who was supposed to be there. You suddenly felt really uncomfortable in her presence; her whole behavior was telling you to get out.
And here you were again. Feeling unnecessary, needless, unwanted.
“I’ve been with Gwil since I was twenty-three, like you are now”, she took a sip from the glass with champagne. “We’re having three-year anniversary this year”, she said with a smug smile.
“You sound like you’re dating”.
“We do”.
“No”.
The sound of his voice was something you craved for. It was like oxygen in the room with no windows and doors. It was like a light in the darkness.
“Daddy!” Alice jumped from her seat and beamed. Oh god, you already wanted to leave. She was looking at him so hungrily that you didn’t even know what you were doing there. You were an extra one. Unwanted. “You’re back! Y/N was just leaving”, she glared at you and raised her eyebrows, giving you a silent order. And you, with your zero self-esteem and very high level of shyness, obeyed.
“I’ve gotta go”, you muttered, heading to the door. Gwil, who stood not so far from you, immediately reached out and grabbed you by the wrist.
“Y/N, no. Please. Don’t go. Please”. He begged you to stay. Gwilym wanted you there, with him. You. Not Alice. The realization of it hit you suddenly, as you looked in his eyes.
You nodded, and he let go of your wrist, now intertwining his fingers with yours. “Alice is leaving”.
“Now, I’m not!” she tried to object, but Gwilym had none of her bullshit.
“You’re leaving. D’you remember what rule number five is about?”
Alice lowered her head and mumbled, “Never visit each other without calling beforehand”.
“Exactly. You broke it. Now you’re staying without your monthly supply. And getting the fuck out of my house”.
You could have sworn she muttered “Bitch” under her breath as she was passing by you. When she slammed the door, Gwil went to close it quickly; then he approached you and pulled you into a hug. “I’m sorry it happened”, he whispered.
“T’s alright”. You were silent for a moment. “I made you dinner; was afraid she’s gonna eat it”.
Gwil laughed and pulled away, his gaze fixed on you; “Did ya, really?” he sounded surprised. You smiled and nodded; then you took his hand and leaded him to the table. “Wow”, he gasped. “You didn’t have to, Y/N”, your gazes met and you smiled at him one more time, your eyes sparkling like diamonds.
“I wanted to, Gwil”.
He pulled you in a desperate kiss; it seemed as if he tried to show his whole affection and gratitude through it. “Thank you, baby”, he whispered against your lips. “I don’t deserve you”.
You rolled your eyes, ruining the moment and walked to your seat at the other side of the table. “Don’t start this”, you said, sitting down. Gwil chuckled as he took his seat; some seconds later you caught him staring at you.
“What’s for dessert?”
You looked at him with raised eyebrow and a smirk on your face. “You will find out later”, you winked at him.
                                                         ***
                                                        May.
“Y/N, stop apologizing. I’ve already told you everything’s alright”.
You couldn’t stop saying “Sorry” and nervously play with your hair the entire time you were sitting in your flat with Zoe; it was the first time you met each other and you were extremely anxious. She looked dazzling, like a star; she was smoking already a third cigarette in the last fifteen minutes.
“Alice’s the one who has to apologize, if to be honest”, she looked at you. “This bitch fed me with ugly lies about the sweetest person I’ve ever met”.
“Are you talking ‘bout me?”
“Absolutely”.
A small smile settled on your lips; Zoe was really sweet and nice, despite what you had been thinking about her. There was something charming, mysterious about her. You could certainly say why Gwil liked her, even if it broke your heart completely. “So, where were we?” Zoe asked.
“You were telling me about what Alice told you”.
“Oh right”, she nodded. “Alice has like a friend, a source in the company, where Gwil works. This “source” finds out everything about him, dunno how. This person told Alice about Gwil’s ex, Stefanie. I was fucking heartbroken after I heard that story”, she lit another cigarette.
“What’s about it?”
“Oh, Y/N, there’s so much. They were engaged, been together since school. Apparently, he loved her too much to notice that she started getting expensive jewelry and clothes. He believed every word she said, when she lied, telling she bought it herself. It turned out that she had three sugar daddies. And if he could forgive her just getting the money from them, he certainly couldn’t forgive her sleeping with all of them. It’s been like seven years since it happened and he’s still too eager to spoil us so much so that we wouldn’t even think about having someone else”.
You sat down on your couch, looking at Zoe in a state of complete shock. But she continued her story. “Gwil talks too much when he’s drunk; that’s how this source knows all of it”.
“You are his first sugar baby, right?”
Your question hung in the silence of the room. “Yeah. Been for four years”.
“And he never told you this?”
Zoe furrowed her brows and she took another drag. “No. We don’t talk about stuff like that. We usually just have some kind of small talk. He just gives me money-“
“In exchange for sex”, you interrupted her, voice thick with jealousy. Zoe chuckled.
“No. Not anymore at least”.
Your eyes widened at her words. “Why?”
Zoe shrugged her shoulders. “I dunno. He called it off several months ago, actually, with both me and Alice. He still gives us money, yeah, but nothing more than that. And if for the reason why – I think it’s ‘cause he’s just as in love with you as you’re with him”.
You gasped; you didn’t expect her to say something like that. You frowned and crossed your arms over your chest. “I don’t-“, you stuttered. “I’m not-“
“Yes, you are”, Zoe huffed. “Come on, Y/N, you know it’s true. He wouldn’t call off two opportunities to fuck whenever he wants just ‘cause he’s bored. No. There’s something more. He loves you, you dumb bitch”.
“He doesn’t, Zoe. He doesn’t and he never will”.
                                        ╰╮✾╭╯✯╰╮✾╭╯
You are awoken by a loud, non-stopping knocking on your door. You take in a sharp breath, struggling with getting up; your head is throbbing violently, as you stand up from the couch. It’s already dark outside; and you wonder how much time you have spent sleeping. Twelve hours? Fourteen? No matter how many of them – you are still sore, sad and hurt. Everything hurts so badly.
But you’re still wearing Gwil’s shirt. The feeling of its fabric on your skin makes you somehow feel better. Warmer. Makes feel a little bit alive.
The loud knocking proceeds as you walk towards the door. You think that it’s probably your mum coming to see you; you don’t answer your phone as you’ve been sleeping for so long.
When you open the door you expect to see a middle-aged woman with brown hair and angry voice, who’ll start lecturing you immediately as she always does. But your expectations are nothing compared to reality.
With red swollen eyes (like he’s been crying), messy hair and a backpack, which is slowly falling from his shoulder – that’s what  he looks like standing at your doorstep. You don’t understand why he’s here, what he needs from you. You look at him as if he was a ghost, a phantom, a shadow, that will disappear at any moment. You can’t believe he’s here.
“Gwil?”

OC Origin
MAX
Origin: 2006 or 2007
Appearance: golden-blond hair, sky or cerulean blue eyes
Backstory: Changes with each iteration
1st + 2nd iteration - Max Dragon
Max Dragon is the prince of dragons. Well, a version of dragons that are part human and primarily look like humans until they're capable of transforming at the age of twelve. Max and his twin Giancarlo were the subjects of a prophecy that they could kill a dark dragon known as Ken. Ken attempted to assassinate the royal twins during their first public appearance as literal infants.
The King and Queen decided the best course of option for their children's survival was to send the twins away to live amongst humans. They were given to two guardians who would take them away. Max's guardian was a twelve year old boy named Jake (renamed Valen in later iterations) who descended from the family of a dragon that had married a wizard and not a human.
Jake leaves the hidden paradise island of dragons and runs away to the human world with baby Max. He hopes to reunite with a distant human relative that will help him raise Max in secret. Unfortunately, Ken is hot on his heels with the belief he has both infants. Jake spends months running from Ken but a recent encounter leaves him gravely injured. With a stroke of luck, he makes it to his human relative and stresses the importance of Max and his protection. With his dying breath, Jake obscures Max from Ken's sights and succumbs to his injuries.
Max is raised by Jake's relative known as Old Man Jenkins. They don't have a good relationship since Jenkins didn't want the responsibility of taking care of Max. It's a better relationship than the one they have with the other villagers. Max is ostracized by the villagers for his unusual eyes, his mysterious origins and because he lives with the odd hermit. As such, he's lonely most of his youth. He joins a secret organization of rangers to develop some of his skills and also meets pure dragons that he has an automatic connection with.
Things change when Max is 11 as the village leader figures out Max is working with the rangers to overthrow him. He sends men to trap Max inside a burning building in order for him to have a terrible death. However, Max's heritage allows him to survive the fire. Max is confused but puts it on hold to effectively end the reign of the village head. On the eve of his 12th birthday, Old Man Jenkins reveals Max's origin and how he came to take care of him. Max, with the Old Man's permission, decides to return to his home, reclaim his title and kill Ken. His adventure begins.
The adventure includes finding his brother, meeting mermaids and their princess Zelda that he grows affection for, returning home, traveling to different worlds and times, war, loss, love, clones, truth of a clone-triplet situation and meeting an evil alternate self of his.
3rd iteration - Max Darwin
Max Darwin is a human boy who lost his parents to a teacher who had become obsessed with him. He's a quadruplet - Giancarlo, Sehel and the official appearance as a sibling with Halt - but is distraught since the other three are in comas since the attack by the teacher. Max is a closed off boy that Jake Anderson, legal guardian and cousin, struggles with since he knows Max is just hiding his pain.
Max meets Zelda and the two have a typical teenage coming of age story where they begin to open up to each other and fall in love until news break out that his obsessed teacher has escaped prison and is most likely searching for him. Then it becomes a thriller.
**least developed version**
4th iteration - Maxiel Garwin
***Current Iteration(s)!!***
Maxiel "Max" Garwin is the latest iteration that has subcategories: the king/prince, the God, the damaged soul and the assassin.
King category: King Maxiel Ilian Draconian
Maxiel I. Draconian is the Dragon Witch-King of the country of Draconia in the No. 6 fanfiction Children's War (first fanfiction appearance of the character!). He lost his father at a young age, before his father could choose a successor. So he and his brothers became the Four Kings, ruling the country until an invasion from a foreign country's king led to their deaths(?)
God: Leixam, 12th God, "Maxiel"
Leixam - Leixam is one of the Elder Gods in the No. 6 fanfiction universe that makes his first appearance in the OC-centric Serendipity: Through the Eyes From Above. He is initially an apathetic, bored deity until he becomes involved in the love story of Nezumi and Shion. He goes through great lengths to ensure their happy ending, messing with the natural order in order to do so. To summarize, he's a big NezuShi shipper.
12th God - 12th God is a part of a large pantheon of gods that has been helping humanity for centuries. Unlike his fellow deities, 12th God likes to spend his days disguised as a human and chilling with them. He meets an interesting village boy named Nath, who is a complete atheist. 12th God grows fond of Nath and is distraught when Nath catches a terrible plague that kills his family and nearly kills him. 12th God spirits Nath away to the realm of the gods and gives him the gift of immortality since he can't cure the plague, as it was another god's doing. Nath initially hates immortality and is rattled by finding out gods are real. He grows thankful of his new life and stays with 12th God for centuries. Forces threaten to tear them apart such as jealous gods, amnesia, near loss of immortality and, oddly enough, death.
Another version of 12th God has him meet a modern day Nath - short for Nathaniel - under the human alias Maxiel. The two met at several points in Nath's human life while "Maxiel" was fighting a celestial war. The two became a couple a year after Nath divorced his wife and they lived together for decades. They had several demigod children - none of them born in a traditional way - and fun adventures.
However, 12th God finally realizes one day that his Nath has become old. Despite Nath's insistence, he remains by his side with the promise to immortalize his soul after his death. Unfortunately for the duo, others want Nath's soul and immortality seems less likely to happen.
"Maxiel Nikas" - "Maxiel Nikas" is not a god like the previous versions but he's not completely human either. He was created as an Irregular weapon with the power to implant, erase and manipulate memories. For the power to manifest, he has to have physical contact with the person. He weaponizes his power in order to complete his mission.
The damaged soul: Maxiel Hadriel Garwin-Russo
Maxiel H. Garwin-Russo - Maxiel is the son of a wealthy CEO and an international actor. Like most of the other incarnations, he is born with other siblings. This time, he's a quintuplet with the same brothers plus a younger, quintuplet sister Gwendolyn. For reasons not to be told to avoid spoilers, he ends up in the streets where he meets Zelda and their love story begins anew.
The Assassin: Maxiel Garwin
Maxiel Garwin - Max has been an assassin since he was seven, eliminating an entire crime organization that killed his parents, sold his brothers and kept him as a slave. He was found by two men, Jason and his younger brother Ken who, instead of doing the right thing and sending Max to therapy, recruited him as an assassin for their organization.
He does pretty awful acts in his line of work until he disappears at the age of seventeen and reappears at age nineteen with an interesting case of amnesia and a bullet that should've killed him. Instead of letting him go, Jason takes advantage of the amnesia to convince Max that he is his father and Max is fiercely loyal to the organization. He brainwashes Max with falsehoods before he allows him to interact with others.
As this happens, "Felix" wants to create the Black Jokers, a group of 4 individuals that they can use to assassinate anyone they please. "Felix" wants the amnesiac Max to be the leader, to Jason's anger since he wants to have Max completely under his finger before releasing him. After a threat, Max is released and allowed to join the Black Jokers.
The story involves friendship, experimentation, fake deaths, hurt and comfort, child abuse, manipulation, fragmented memories, more mature content, quintuplets, racism, etc. I can't divulge more without spoiling anything but I can say that therapists should come out more often.
Love interest: Max, in many iterations, is either bisexual or ace. Bi!Max is present in the fourth iterations with the exception of King Maxiel Ilian Draconia and "Maxiel Nikas". Those two are asexual and have no love interest. Hell, the war that led to the downfall of King Maxiel was his insistence on not getting married and a spurned man deciding to try to take him as a spouse by force. "Maxiel Nikas" doesn't have any romantic or sexual interest in people and he doesn't fault his mission for it. He genuinely doesn't understand it. The godly versions of Max are either pan or aro/ace.
Max Dragon in his first iteration had no love interest since both he - and I as the author - were children. So his sexuality was never brought up or thought upon by yours truly. The second version of Max Dragon did have more options since he lived longer and I was older. He dated Maxine, Hebe and Zelda, only marrying Zelda and having children with her. 2nd Max Dragon still didn't feel straight, though, so it could be possible he was bisexual.
The 3rd iteration of Max is also a mystery. Again, I didn't think of a sexuality because it didn't seem important.
Depending on the iteration, Max has either Zelda or Nath as his love interest. So he definitely has a type since both have black hair and bluegreen/sea-green eyes. Both Zelda and Nath are morosexual - exclusively attracted to morons - since they like Max (Just a joke, ya'll).
Several people have fallen for Max - mostly women - for his status, looks or personality. The majority do it for his status since he's either a prince, king, rich kid, god or just a powerful assassin with influence. Nath and Zelda are the few of the people that look beyond the mask of Max, loving him because of who he is rather than his money or looks.
Possible love interests: I actually had to read back my old writings (yikes) to discover people who could've been Max's love interests if the story had taken a different route. They are: Maxine, Hebe, Greyson, Lady Cassandra, and Oliver.
Maxine was Max Dragon's fiancee but circumstances caused by one of the people on the above list (Greyson) cause Maxine to believe Max was dead. She mourned for two months before marrying his cousin, Samuel. Upon his return, Max was heartbroken but tried to not show it. Maxine was the first love interest written for Max.
Hebe, the goddess of youth, didn't think her relationship with Max was as serious as he thought it to be. He loved her more than she ever loved him, leading to their mutual separation.
Lady Cassandra's the darkest of the girl love interests since she wants Max despite his marriage to Zelda and their children. She didn't view Max as a person either, seeing him more as a trophy to be earned. She wanted Max because he was a powerful, handsome king, not for anything else. She's the most selfish person "in love" that I've written.
Greyson is the prince of the wyverns (drakons in the original version) who was manipulated by Ken to see Max as an enemy to his people. The two nearly destroy each other until they realize that they were manipulated. After that, the two began a very close relationship. Greyson always did his best to save and protect Max and was his most loyal friend during Max's darkest times.
Oliver met Max when the two were slaves. Oliver immediately decided he wanted to protect Max because he saw the other boy as fragile and weak. The two were separated and Oliver temporarily lost his purpose and thought Max had died in his absence. They reunite but Max has no memories and Oliver feels slightly intimidated by Max's strength and independence.
The closest people to qualify as potential love interests are Greyson and Oliver. Heck, Oliver and Max would've become a couple had they not been separated. Alas, the two are second to Zelda and Nath.
Family: Max tends to have an extensive family. The first iteration has him with the largest amount of siblings who would either be written out or rebooted. His original family consisted of his parents, the eldest and only sister Elizabeth, older brothers Jake, Jacob, Zack, and Cody and his twin Giancarlo. The 2nd iteration brought Sehel into the family.
The 3rd iteration removed Elizabeth, Jake, Jacob, Zack and Cody and put in Halt and having Max be a quadruplet. Max is also orphaned in this version with his legal guardian being Jake/Valen, his older cousin.
The 4th iterations returned some of Max's previous siblings. Elizabeth, Jake, Jacob, Zack and Cody are the older siblings of Maxiel Garwin-Russo while Max is a quintuplet thanks to younger sister Gwendolyn. He doesn't have true siblings in his godly forms, though. Just vaguely connected to other gods. Maxiel Garwin the assassin only has three brothers and two sisters (removing Jake, Jacon, Zack and Cody).
As for kids, only 3 versions of Max has kids: Max Dragon version 2, Maxiel Garwin and 12th God "Maxiel".
Max Dragon has a lot kids with Zelda: Blake, Gabriel, Dylan, Atticus, Kay, Zora, Senna and Nami. The first three are later incorporated into Maxiel Garwin the Assassin. 12th God Maxiel and Nath had 7 children, currently unnamed at the time.
Closing thoughts: I really really love Max. He was my first and oldest OC. I created him as this spunky, confident and outspoken kid because I was the complete opposite. I've changed throughout the years and Max has been the only OC that changed with me. I even used him as a form of therapy when I got a bit depressive in middle school. Max has a special place in my heart and is the OC that made me fall in love with writing. That's all for Max's OC Origins. See you next time!

July’s Featured Game: SLARPG
DEVELOPER(S): Bobby "ponett" Schroeder ENGINE: RPGMaker VX Ace  GENRE: RPG, Fantasy SUMMARY: SLARPG is a short, turn-based RPG following the story of Melody Amaranth, a kindhearted but meek transgender fox who’s decided to learn healing magic and become a paladin. She’s joined by her adventurous girlfriend Allison, as well as their friends Claire (a sarcastic, rule-bending witch)(she is also trans) and Jodie (a dependable, somewhat motherly knight). Over the course of the story, our inexperienced heroes will meddle with forces beyond their control and find themselves responsible for the fate of their quaint little hometown. They’ll also fight some spherical frogs, travel to a forgotten land in the sky, befriend a robot or two, and anger the local librarian. But that should go without saying.
Introduce yourself!  Hi! My name's Bobby "ponett" Schroeder. I have a background mainly in visual art and writing, and I've been working in RPG Maker VX Ace since 2013 after being inspired to try making my own game by Splendidland's masterpiece Megaman Sprite Game. I'd always wanted to go into game development, but this was the first time it felt like it was actually feasible for me to make something fun on my own. By the end of that year I released a much rougher freeware version of SLARPG, originally known as Super Lesbian Horse RPG.
I do most of the work myself, but I have several people helping me with some NPC and enemy design work including my boyfriend Anthony Field (@exclamationpointman on Tumblr) and my friends Thomas Landon (@schloogywoog), Gee (@fattoads), and Thom (@sidewalkwitch). My lead composer is the incredibly talented BEATR!X @neutralnewt) with more music contributed by other friends such as internet pop icon blacksquares (@blacksquares).
Tumblr media
What is your project about? What inspired you to create your game initially? *Bobby: Super Lesbian Animal RPG is primarily about a timid transgender fox named Melody. At age 22 she's sort of coasting along on autopilot with no clear idea of what she wants to do with her life. One day, she and her girlfriend Allison get roped into a new adventuring guild founded by their friends Claire and Jodie. Melody sees this as an opportunity to impress Allison and to make herself useful by becoming a paladin and learning healing magic.
At its heart, the game is about the relationships between four girls in their early 20s. They're all trying to define themselves as people, they all have their own personal baggage, and they all have their own motives for seeing this dinky little adventurer's guild as a life-changing opportunity. And now, thanks to the trouble they get themselves into, they also have to figure out how to be heroes. It's also a game where you can have an anthropomorphic rabbit with a mohawk kiss her girlfriend and then swing a sword made of zircon at a magic tumbleweed
As I said, the game was originally released in a much rougher form under the title Super Lesbian Horse RPG. It started out as a cute, goofy little game where Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic were dating (of course) and went on a bizarre adventure, but it soon turned into a genuine RPG with a more sincere story. It also got much, much more attention than I ever expected. My use of copyrighted characters made the game difficult to distribute, though, and in hindsight I was holding myself back by presenting it as a fangame. So in 2015, I decided to radically overhaul and flesh out the game with a new, expanded cast that I have full creative control over. And now here we are today, with a game that's probably got more new material in it than old, but still hopefully has the same charm if you enjoyed the original.
How long have you been working on your project? *Bobby: Work on the original project lasted the entirety of 2013, with me foolishly releasing the 1.0 version on Christmas 2013 (my 20th birthday—I spent most of the day frantically squashing bugs). I returned to the project in 2015 and have been working on the new version on and off for about two years now.
Tumblr media
Did any other games or media influence aspects of your project? *Bobby: The humor is definitely inspired in part by Mother and Paper Mario, although my talkative protagonists might make it closer to something like a point-and-click adventure game. I've also always loved really casual comedy that skews towards normal conversation in stuff like Home Movies or Homestuck. Adventure Time has undoubtedly been a big influence, too, as one of my favorite shows, with its "anything goes" fantasy world and colorful cast of characters—but also because of its focus on grounded, introspective character moments in a surreal, fantastical setting
Gameplay-wise, early Final Fantasy titles are a big influence for sure, and I'm trying to take a page out of Zelda's book when it comes to exploration and level design. But tabletop RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons are also having an impact on the way I design encounters. I think tabletop games are still the gold standard for RPG battles, because they're often less about stats and repetition and doing what the designer wants you to do and more about improvising a fun story. Of course, an RPG Maker game can't compete with having an actual DM there to run an encounter, but I'm trying to give players lots of fun little "hey, what if I tried this?" moments with unexpected consequences.
Have you come across any challenges during development? How have you overcome or worked around them?   *Bobby: Honestly, the big thing for me is always time management. As development continues and my skills improve, I often find myself polishing areas and assets I'd already worked on before. If I didn't force myself to work on new stuff too I'd probably spend three years just polishing Greenridge to a mirror shine.
Have any aspects of your project changed over time? How does your current project differ from your initial concept? *Bobby: Developing the protagonists further has really broadened my horizons writing-wise. I always wanted the game to have a nice emotional arc on top of all the jokes and surreal dungeons, but over time I've fleshed out Melody, Allison, Claire, and Jodie more and more, making everyone feel less like charicatures and more like real people with relatable motivations. The graphics have also gotten a lot better after several years of pixel art practice, and the level design has gotten less linear.
What was your team like at the beginning? How did people join the team? If you don't have a team, do you wish you had one or do you prefer working alone? *Bobby: It started out as just me. Friends on Tumblr quickly showed interest in contributing designs and music to the game just because they liked the project, and before long a lot of different people were putting their own little mark on the game. Some of my favorite characters in the game have been designed by friends, and I don't know where I'd be without the absolutely phenomenal soundtrack.
Tumblr media
What was the best part of developing the game? *Bobby: I love designing characters, and writing in all these little details to make them feel real, and figuring out how they talk to each other, and seeing my audience pick out their favorites. It's a very rewarding process for me. The second best part is getting to listen to the soundtrack and realize "Wow... this is gonna be in a game that I'm making. And it's gonna be SICK."
Which character in your game do you relate to the most and why? (Alternatively: Who is your favorite character and why?) *Bobby: Without a doubt, Melody. She differs from myself in a lot of major ways, so I wouldn't call her a self-insert, but she was created to give myself the relatable fat bisexual trans girl protagonist with anxiety that no other piece media was ever going to give me. A lot of her insecurities in the game are even loosely inspired by stuff I've been through in real life.
I also have a ton of fun writing the villains, but they're spoilers.
Looking back now, is there anything that regret/wish you had done differently? *Bobby: I wish I'd been more consistent about my work ethic in the past. I worked EXTREMELY inconsistently on SLARPG throughout 2015, and I probably could've gotten a lot more done back then. But hey, live and learn.
Once you finish your project, do you plan to explore game's universe and characters further in subsequent projects, or leave it as-is? *Bobby: Oh, I'm absolutely hoping to revisit this world! Part of the reason I'm putting so much effort into revamping a game I already released is so that I can work with this new cast and setting again in the future. I'm not planning too far ahead right now, but I do have some vague ideas for more games I'd like to make in this world, possibly through the eyes of characters other than Melody.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What do you look most forward to upon/after release? *Bobby: I'm looking forward to being able to play some longer games in my backlog without feeling guilty about it, haha. I've been dying to play stuff like The Witcher 3, NieR: Automata, and Final Fantasy XV, but I'm always worried it'll just take time away from my work. It's a wonder I managed to finish Breath of the Wild this year.
Is there something you're afraid of concerning the development or the release of your game?  *Bobby: This answer is gonna be a bummer, but I'm worried about is the harassment I'll have to deal with for putting out a game about LGBT characters. I've already dealt with this on several occasions, although thankfully it hasn't progressed past slur-filled anonymous messages. This toxic state of the gaming community is why I'm currently planning to release the game exclusively on itch.io, rather than exposing myself to Steam's hostile userbase. But it's a story that I think is worth telling, and for every piece of hate mail I get 20 messages from people telling me how excited they are, which is why I haven't given up.
Question from last month's featured dev: Is there any portion of your development that's gotten you outside your comfort zone? *Bobby: I think it's easy to say that most of it has been outside my comfort zone, actually. Working on SLARPG has really pushed the boundaries of what I previously thought I was capable of as an artist. When I first started I literally made a dungeon that was just a straight line with one 90 degree turn because I had no idea what else to do with the canvas. Now I can make dungeons that are actually slightly fun!
Do you have any advice for upcoming devs? *Bobby: Study the games and stories you love, and find out what really makes them tick. Don't just mimic surface level things, but study the mechanical, structural, and thematic elements that make them so memorable. Oh, and don't put too much effort into a fangame if there's even the slightest chance it'll get taken down, haha. Make something original loosely inspired by the things you love instead.
We mods would like to thank Bobby for agreeing to our interview! We believe that featuring the developer and their creative process is just as important as featuring the final product. Hopefully this Q&A segment has been an entertaining and insightful experience for everyone involved!
Remember to check out SLARPG if you haven’t already! See you next month!

Link has an Akira-esque motorcycle now and that’s awesome, but this DLC is just kinda OK
So, what is presumably the final piece of DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild dropped about two days ago at The Game Awards 2017. It was one of those shadowy, no-promotion announcements that only Nintendo can get away with, and it was exciting, if only because the trailer showed Link on a FRIGGIN’ GUARDIAN MOTORCYCLE, DAMN SON. Also, following the tradition of Breath of the Wild having some of the best promotional artwork in the business, the drawing released to promote this DLC pack is basically an Akira reference! That’s so dope! But when it came time to fire up the actual DLC and gave it a whirl...I found myself kinda underwhelmed. (If you haven’t played it yet, go do that first, because spoilers lie ahead.) I’m not going to say that The Champion’s Ballad is a disappointment, because the fact that I wasn’t feeling it is mostly due to my own overblown expectations. But from looking at some reactions in the ResetERA official thread, I think it’s fair to say that myself and a host of other people were expecting something different. Ever since Breath of the Wild’s DLC plan was announced, Nintendo was hyping this second content pack up with promises of a “new original story.” From their ambiguous wording, it seemed like DLC pack 1 - the one that introduced the game’s Master Trials - was supposed to be the gameplay-focused package filled with a hard mode and other challenges, while DLC pack 2 was the one that was going to go heavy on plot content. Some people speculated that we’d be able to play as the deceased Champions or as Zelda herself. I wasn’t expecting anything that ambitious, but I was hoping for something like a little epilogue, or maybe a new map or island to explore.
What was actually released is maybe 30% story content and 70% stuff like the first DLC pack, AKA more endgame challenges and Shrines. The Champion’s Ballad, which is only unlockable after you’ve beaten the four Divine Beasts, actually starts off weirdly in that it makes you go back to the game’s starting area and clear out several enemy camps with a new weapon called the “One-Hit Obliterator,” which lets you KO baddies in a single strike but also decreases your health down to a fourth of a heart. New, more deviously difficult Shrines pop up after you clear out the camps, and once you’re finished with all of them, the Obliterator disappears...making it a strange, temporary tool that seems solely designed to create an arbitrary difficulty ceiling.
Once you’re done with the One-Hit Obliterator section, you’re sent to four corners of the map. At each location you need to complete three more tasks AND more shrines before tackling a boss and unlocking a never-before-seen memory of each Champion. (Finally, story stuff!) Unfortunately, here’s where I started to get weary, because the challenges to unlock said memories are mainly rehashed tasks from the main game (like sand seal surfing), the Shrines are all sorta annoying and the bosses are the same versions of Ganon that you fought in the past, only slightly harder and now in some nebulous “illusory” realm that looks like it was run through an Instagram filter. (It was at this point when I realized that this DLC felt more like a remix album than anything else.)
At the very end, there is one new Divine Beast to conquer, followed by an all-original boss battle that’s arguably one of the best parts of the DLC. If you’re successful, Link wins himself a spiffy new motorcycle that makes travelling around Hyrule a breeze...except it’s also kind of useless because by the time players unlock it, there’s just not that much left to DO, unless you’re still trying to collect all of the Korok Seeds or complete the game’s original 120 Shrines.
Don’t get me wrong, the bike certainly is a fun toy to play with and has resulted in some amusing videos on YouTube. And the new memories, though they amount to little more than 15 minutes in total, are very good. (There’s one scene in particular of Link, Zelda and all the other Champions that’s practically tear-inducing.) But the questline that you need to endure to get the bike and these teeny nuggets of plot just didn’t feel worth it, IMO. It seemed like it was designed to appeal to a certain type of player - the ones who are 100% completionists and loved the complexity of Breath of the Wild’s Shrines.
If you’re one of those persons, then I think you’ll enjoy this DLC. Sadly, I’m not a member of that group, and I’ve mentioned in the past that dungeons have never been the main reason why I’ve been attracted to Zelda games. For me, I play Zelda to be swept away by a sense of adventure, and the experience of climbing mountains, racing across Hyrule Field and learning more about a post-apocalyptic world was what made Breath of the Wild one of my favorite games of 2017, not its 120 Shrines. If you’re in the same camp as me and haven’t already bought the game’s $20 season pass, I recommend just watching the new cutscenes and boss fight on YouTube and calling it a day.
Speaking of that $20 season pass (which is the only way to purchase the game’s DLC), do I consider it a waste of money in hindsight? Well, not entirely. I did enjoy parts of the Master Trials in DLC pack 1, possibly because that stuff came out shortly after the game’s release and was never advertised as a “new original story.” Would I have enjoyed The Champion’s Ballad more if it had been released earlier and if the marketing language hadn’t shot my expectations skyward? Yeah, probably. As it stands, I still maintain that Breath of the Wild is a fine game, but when it comes to the post-launch content, I need to point out that we live in a world where Horizon: Zero Dawn - The Frozen Wilds, Bloodborne: The Old Hunters and both Witcher 3 expansions (the gold standard of recent downloadable content, in my eyes) all exist. DLC doesn’t have to be arbitrary stuff that should have been included in the base game, which kinda feels like the case here.  Nintendo can, and should, consider doing a little better next time.
I made the Breath of the Wild/Akira comparison pic myself! Though a quick peek at Twitter shows that I wasn’t the only one with that bright idea...

Legend of Zelda: In the Land of Spirits Ch.2
Hi there! Here is Chapter 2 from In the Land of Spirits. Again. I accidentally erased the post, my bad.
I apologize for the messy writing and grammar errors. English is not my native language. And it’s quite short although added a few things.
I need to improve my writing skills. XP
***************
Chapter 2
She was surprise he was still breathing.
Deep lacerations. At least two broken ribs. Three broken vertebra. Maybe only bruise. Blood loss. Not to mention the bite of one of the most deathly snakes.
And yet, his body refused to give up. It was terrifyingly impressive. How can someone withstand so much pain?
She felt her insides wrench every time his screams of agony echoed thought the cave as she used her healing. Placing bone and tissue back together. Repairing was needs fixing. Until he is utterly limp under her hands.
She washes him clean from the dried blood and sweat, dirt and tears with a small piece of cloth. She tried not to look too closely, to give him some sort of dignity. Still, she couldn’t help but notice he was fit, muscles lining every limb, rippling over his abdomen.
She did the same with his red hair and brush it as best as she could, and let it loose. The young man shivers with fever, and when he whimper from time to time she comforts him.
After a while, his eyes stayed closed, but this was a different quality of sleep than his earlier, half-delirious dips into unconsciousness. Some of his natural gray color was already coming back, and the sweat, dried blood and grime had already been cleaned from his skin.
She looked down at the stranger. She could see him better now and she realized he was handsome in repose. Amazingly tall and strong, he was muscled as a ferocious warrior. His hair with long waves of brilliant red.
Tentatively, she reached out and brushed a few locks of hair off of his face, tucked them back behind one pointy ear. Something lurched in her heart, and some quiet, logical part of her brain told her that this was dangerous. But he was a sigh from the Spirits and that was enough for her.
When she spotted him and his companions, she decided to not intervene. The magic surrounding their territory helped her people’s cover. The strangers would roam the jungles for days, probably months, before they could find her tribe. It had happened before. And those few that had found them, well, they never came out alive to tell the tale. Imani took a interest of the red haired warrior, much to her disapproval. Then the obia ambushes him and he fights him with great effort but courageously nonetheless. And she knew that event  was a sign. Although, she still doesn’t know her feline friend’s true intentions towards the man.
She found herself just looking slow up and down of his breathing. A small smile drew on her lips– remembering the word he had spoke to her moments ago.
When she had been washing him, he barely regained his consciousness. He drank, with a little trouble, the remedy she made for the snake venom and his body was fighting it.
He had opened his tired eyes and looked at her disoriented. With difficulty, he brought his burning hand to touch her cheek. The gesture took her by surprise, but she did not turn him away. A lazy smile spread on him face.
“Beautiful,” the warrior said weakly in a strange language.
She stilled, her eyes widened for a moment but she quickly composed herself. Placing her hand on his cheek, she pressed her fingers on his temple. Warm energy released from her finger tips.
“Ssshh,” she only said. And the warrior instantly closed his eyes, falling to sleep once more.
He then sighed in relieve and surrender to slumber.
~~~~~~~~~~o~~~~~~~~
He slowly opened his eyes at the soothing sound of rain still falling in a distance and the considered warm of a fire. He doesn’t know where he is, sorts through the information his senses are giving him. All he can smell was the dirt and herbs, it’s warm, feels distinctly subterranean, so he must be in some kind of cave.
He sat up slowly; his head began to pound from a sudden rush. He groaned, passing his hand on his face. It then that he becames aware of the heaviness in his limbs, the steady solid beating of his heart, the soft wind of his breath. His red hair tumbled down over his shoulders as his eyes inspected the space around him.
Kerugan observed confused by all the small jars, plants, and fabrics pushed against the a few corners of the space. Including his clothing neatly folded near him. Someone certainly has been lived here.
At the sudden crushing sound, he snapped in the direction of the noise so fast his neck hurt. He found a pair eyes glowing in the swallowing darkness. The same ones that made him get lost. They were moving; getting closer.
He widened his violet eyes saw a leopard coming out of the dark.
The animal glances at him intently as he sat in a considered distance. Kerugan stayed frozen, his muscles tense, afraid to make any sudden movement. He may no longer be in pain but he was still weak.
“You are awake.” Kerugan jumped, startled by the female voice that spoke up. He was surprised to find a woman standing nearby the entrance of the cavern.
He couldn’t see her face clearly but he could feel her sight piercing. She was curvy and had slight muscles. Kerugan frowns when he fights through the fog in his mind and remembers. She was with him before he passed out.
The leopard makes a movement and he quickly turned his attention to it.
“Do not fear, he is tame,” she walked closer to the fire. Pausing to move away her hood. “When needed.”
Kerugan’s breath was taken away momentarily. She had dark short hair, trimmed to her left side. Her cheekbones are wide and pronounced. Her skin glowed like honey and her full lips red as strawberries. While she tosses more wood to the fire, he notices the face-paint; a series of red and white dots on her forehead and  a white line that traveled from her lower lip to her chin. Once she is done with the wood, she takes her damp, long loincloth and wrings it.
But what caught his attention the most were the pair of eyes that seemed to glow while staring at him.
“Where–?” Kerugan cleared his dry throat. “Where am I?”
“My place.” She answered nonchalant.
“Ah I see.” His gaze moved around the interior once again before falling on to her. “It is…nice,” Was he trying to be polite?
She smiled slightly. “I don’t live here if that’s what you mean.”
Her firm sight crossed his, deep and piercing and hypnotic. “How do you feel?”
“Fine, thank you.” Kerugan lied. He was a little dizzy actually but he wouldn’t dare to say it; she was a stranger.
“So, were you the one who saved me?”
She nodded. “Yes, I am.”
“And you brought me here…”
“You were dying.”
“Well, yes.“
“You fought an obia,” she murmurs absently. She moves to the jars and takes a small vase.
“What?” Kerugan asked.
“An obia,” the woman said immediately. “My people can kill or run away from almost anything else. But even the most expert warriors, avoid them.” She served some green liquid in a small vase. “You’re blessed to be alive. The amount of wounds that were inflicted on you, you should be dead but your body has almost completely healed.”
Suddenly, everything began to flash back into his mind, his blood running cold at the memories of the creature that attacked him. His hand immediately shot to his lower back, groaning by the strain of pain. He traced the skin and noticed a scar. It was considered board and smooth, she must have had used magic to heal him. An alarm go off in the back of his mind. What other things she did while he was unconscious?
“Here,” the young woman offered him the small vase. “The venom is still in your system. This will help.”
His violet eyes wavering slightly as he reached out to take the cup. He drank gently and efficient, griming at the taste. “Thank you.”
“Thank Imani,” she gesture her head toward the leopard. “He guided me to you.”
Kerugan turned unsure to the animal, which was still, staring at him. The big cat huffed, in indifference maybe? He wasn’t sure.
After a moment, Kerugan discreetly stares at the woman while she searches for something in a leather bag. When she turned her back on him, he saw the scars. The claws of a big animal all along her shoulder blades. And he had the strange temptation to touch it.
He frowns, pushing away the feeling with a shake of his head.
She then kneels beside him, gesturing his right hand. “May I?”
He allowed her to hold his hand, his so much larger and warmer.
Soon, Kerugan was left mesmerized by her eyes. They were blue and green, like the clear waters of the ocean. Her black eyelashes, copper skin and face paint made them stand out even more. Some of his uncles and cousins were blue eyed but he had never seen such brilliant color before. It made her look like something different, something ethereal. And nothing like Varden described from the natives of this land. Could she be from the tribe he and his sister came to look for?
She worked efficiently taking away the bandage. She inspected the the bite, which is clean and not as swell as before. She opened a big leaf, in its center has some kind of lotion with a vague scent of mint. Taking a small portion, his savior takes his large hand in her small and delicate one and massages, spreading the lotion.
Her fingertips are soft, warm as they travel over his skin, coaxing a response from Kerugan that had never happened by only touching his hand, leaving him contrarily thrumming and pliant. He could feel the power coursing through her, humming under her skin like lightening contained. Blood fizzes in his veins, plumping his skin and heating his ears…and other places. But it also frightens him and he make a monumental effort to not clap his hand away.
He tries to concentrated on something else, so turns his head to look at the leopard. The animal, forelegs crossed, narrowed his eyes ever so slightly, giving the impression he was judging the Northern. And he highly unsettles him.
Kerugan is so centered on the feline that misses the faint smile on the woman’s lips.
“How long have I been out?” Kerugan said quietly, watching her wrap the new bandage.
“For two day,” the woman replied. “You caught a high fever while your body fighter the venom of the snake.”
He cursed under his breath. Audlin was going to kill him for sure.
He glanced at the woman as she disposed of the old bandages and made a long pause, purse his lips as if studying her.
“Why I can understand you?” Kerugan inquired carefully. “I hear you and your language is foreign to me. But I know what you’re speaking. I understand your words in my mind.”
She frowns, shifted her sight to the ground. Thoughtful and slightly thrown off. “I…don’t know.”
A long silence followed only interrupted by the crackle of the fire and the rain outside. The woman stretch her arm to take a small fruit from a basket, and bites it. When the scent of fruit struck in is nose, his stomach protested greatly. A light blush of embarrassment appeared on his cheeks. The woman just smiles at him.
“You must be hungry,” she reached out again, this time to take the basket with fresh fruits. At the sight of it, his mouth watered.
She moved to him once more and put the basket on his lap.
“Eat, rest,” she stood with a blanket on her hands to where the large feline was. “Tomorrow will be decided what to do.”
Kerugan eats ravenously, nearly inhaling each mouthful, staring at the young woman laid down where the leopard -Imani- is curled.
The animal’s breathing is slow, huffing warmly across the grain dirt. He moves his paws slightly to make room for her head. And when she rest her head between his belly and the ground, Imani bend his neck to place his head beside her.
When he finished with the basket, Kerugan clears his throat, unsure.
“I’m Kerugan, oldest son of Vidar, Hesir of the clanThorhalla of the North, and Princess Kanisa of Hyule.” Kerugan announced gently.
She smiles to herself, as she covers with the warm tunic. Her eyelids already heavy.
“I am Seze, daughter of Nxingha, leader of the Siri Tribe of Zaire.”
Yakuza 0 Review (PS4)
My problem is this:
I’ve played the first few hours of NiOh, and I love it. Horizon: Zero Dawn is about to be released, and is already exceeding quality expectations. Both the Nintendo Switch, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild are coming out next week and Mass Effect: Andromeda isn’t far behind.
There’s a lot to play, and so little time to do it. So no matter how hard I try, why can’t I stop playing Yakuza 0?
Here’s the short answer: it’s the most engrossing game I’ve played in years.
Tumblr media
Majima has the best eye patch this side of Metal Gear Solid 3.
Like all the games in the series preceding it, Yakuza 0 is an open-world, chapter-based Action RPG. There’s a heavy emphasis on its no-nonsense gangster narrative, with snarling Japanese gangsters that are bordering on soap opera melodrama.
On the other hand, there are also 80+ substories (or sidequests) that are frequently over-the-top ridiculous that you wonder how they originate from the same game. Within the span of an hour, you can watch a shamed Yakuza family Lieutenant slice his pinkie off to pay reparations, secretly infiltrate a cult to rescue a young girl from giving her life savings to a hippie scam artist, and reunite a father with his son over a stolen video game. These disparate stories shouldn’t be able to live in the same zip code, much less the same house, but Yakuza 0′s greatest strength is its ability to balance tone.
In fact, the more I played, the more I realized that neither of these tones could exist without the other. The reason the substories come off as entertaining as they do relies heavily on the life-or-death scenarios that come with the main story. When your protagonist treats the betrayal of his clan with the same sincerity as he does when losing a Pocket Car race, it provides much-needed levity for the narrative, and a hilarious juxtaposition for everything else. It also helps that almost every substory ends with a “What did we learn today?” synthesized piano tune that sounds like it came from Full House.
And speaking of protagonists, this game comes with two: the hero of the former games, Kazuma Kiryu, and the insane gangster later known as Mad Dog, Goro Majima.
As the name implies, Yakuza 0 is a prequel, so we get to see Kiryu before he becomes the “Dragon of Dojima,” and Majima before he turns into an insane, snakeskin-wearing thug. Newcomers to the series like myself will have no trouble hopping on board with the story, while I’m sure series veterans will enjoy gleaning new shades of these classic characters. I enjoyed my time with both of them, but I finished the story caring far more about Majima than I did Kiryu.
And while the story may be filled with melodrama, it’s so wonderfully written and acted (all in Japanese), that I was hooked from Chapter 1. There was a bit in the last third of the game that seemed drawn out, but the momentum built by the game’s strong introduction propelled me through to the end without a problem.
Tumblr media
Special takedowns can be brutal.
Amid the story’s lengthy cutscenes, your primary interaction with the game will come in the form of fisticuffs. Yakuza is a 3D brawler, and often reminded me of something like Final Fight. Each character has three fighting styles (and a fourth to be unlocked way down the line), each with its own skill tree. It’s not necessary to grind for cash and build out your character to the extreme, but it sure makes it more fun. For instance, I mostly relied on Kiryu’s “Brawler” and “Rush” styles, largely neglecting his “Beast” Mode. But after finishing the game, to keep things interesting, I started exploring this style I had forsaken, and found that the great throwing and crowd control abilities it provided would have been a godsend in the game’s later chapters.
And while the combat isn’t nearly as refined as something like the Arkham games, the bone-crunching sounds and forceful impacts feel great, so much so that I’m still seeking out random battles after sixty hours with the game.
In those sixty hours, about ten of them have come from Premium Adventure mode. Unlocked after you finish the main story, Premium Adventure gives you free access to everything the game has to offer, including Disco, Karaoke, Darts, Pool, batting cages, and many more. Most of the side activities have substories built right in, each with separate Friendship Meters you can unlock for certain NPCs. All of these activities are accessible during the main game, but I found Premium Adventure to be where I had the space to try everything without being emotionally yanked back to the story.
The surprising thing about these side activities is that most of them are genuinely fun. Karaoke is not a challenging rhythm game, but seeing these hardened gangsters jump around while dressed like pop idols brings me a delight I can’t describe. Pool plays exactly how you think it would, and provides a good respite from a world where most of the people on the street wish to do you bodily harm. All these side activities also have an in-game achievement system tied to them called Completion Points that provide benefits to your character in various ways, in and out of battle.
And I haven’t even touched on the businesses. Both Kiryu and Majima have a business they can build from the ground up (Real Estate and a Hostess Club, respectively) that, when given enough attention can become your primary cash flow. I spent ten hours on a single Saturday only building up Majima’s club, and was never bored.
Yakuza 0 is a massive game, not by sheer square mileage, but by density. You can spend dozens of hours on each element, or you can mainline the story and still experience a great narrative. I’m eagerly awaiting the remake of the first game, coming out this summer, but until then, I have to get back to not playing all the new games that are coming out. Yakuza 0 is just that much fun.
Score: 9.3 out of 10.
Three things: 1- My little opinion about TP!Zelda’s skill and looks. 2- My deep hatred towards ‘Ganon’s Puppet Zelda’. 3- My expectation about why is Lady Arkham missing after the final battle in the first season of “Batman The Telltale Series”.
Funny…I thought TP!Zelda was the one who is pretty lousy and unskilled with the sword and was the one who needs to be taught by TP!Link. In fact, the only moment I saw actually saw her wielding a sword is when she get possessed by Ganondorf, because anyone (including Cia from “Hyrule Warriors” presumably) who became possessed by him would end up fighting with the same energy ball, same triangle force-field and same rapier that should or could have been called ‘Ganon’s Puppet Sword’ rather than ‘Zelda’s Royal Rapier’!
But if TP!Zelda has truly been possessed by Ganondorf, she would have become an ghoulish practically deformed raving lunatic and a unhygienic dimwitted vulgar masochist who brutally mutilating herself (carves off her own face and chewing her her own hand off, Ganon would’ve made her seriously damaging her own body just for his own amusement), drools like a mad dog, and her three main range attacks would have an the spitted-out Sword of the Six Sages (not that puny Royal Rapier), and tennis-ball of sticky black slime (not of pure golden light magic) and the triangle field explodes in oily splashes of black fire and acid like the whole sewer been over-flooded (not sparkling rays of golden light)…all of which would have been more fitting for the chaotic-evil version of her former self like it should be. And believe me, 'demonic possession’ is not made of 'sugar, spice and everything nice’ and the it’s not a pretty sight, it never ever was and it’s not supposed to be and it’s supposed to be strive for 'carnage’ and 'savagery’ in a good old fashioned “The Exorcist”/“Evil Dead” logic, not 'perfection’ and 'luxury’ for a stupid “Beauty & The Beast”/“Sailor Moon” spoof!
Is Ganondorf too fucking lazy, too stupid, too cheap, too gold-feverish, too shallow, too hung up on appearances, too obsessed with 'perfection’ to do any of those to Zelda other than making her float in midair and given her a set of yellow eyes and pale grey-green skin with dark rune-like tattoos, all of which is only worth as an icing–made on the frying pan of melted dog turd that is the 'dark rune-like tattoos’, buffalo puke that is the 'pale grey-green skin’, and cat piss that is the 'yellow eyes’–on the Dingo-Pictures/Good-Times/Golden-Films cartoon shit cake?! Did the game designers really think Princess Zelda is a incompetent idiot who can’t take care herself even during the entire imprisonment? Did both they and Ganon really think that the ‘most serious’ incarnation of Zelda is just a lazy coward, a doofus and weakling who doesn’t know when or how to wield her own weapons or cast her own magic spells, didn’t they?! I consider the fact that TP!Zelda is many things...but being a boss or a 'puppet', the very word which does not make her an hero because it's upright absurd and offensive, and while it's more fitting for a mean selfish traitor, a sleazy greedy vacillator, a lousy spoil-rotten second-rater and a mangy vain coward (look at Holli Would from "Cool World", Azula from "Avatar: The Last Air-Bender" and Azshara from "Warcraft: War Of The Ancients", they're most definitely traitors, vacillators, lousy second-raters and mangy cowards).
It’s not fair! That is the stupidest idea the Nintendo game designers have ever came up with! An very idea that gotten me all confused and pissed off! It’s even a proper boss fight, it’s cheap shot, a sissy-villain porno gag, a ‘fuck you’ moment, absolutely beyond disrespectful, beyond disgusting, beyond annoying! What were they thinking? What wrong with those Japanese schmucks! What kind of drugs they taken when when they wrote the story for the game? They ruined one of their own iconic characters for everybody! I feel like I see that “Here lie Princess Zelda, born in 1986, died in 2006” written all over that game! They upper-decked her, they made her to looked more like a goddamn traitor, vacillator, a lousy second-rater and a mangy coward! Thanks for that cheap-shot, you ASSHOLES!
You know what? I fucking hate ‘Puppet Zelda’ with every fiber of my being because an sleazy abomination that’s psychologically scarred me for life, it’s a total twisted pointless parody that made me sick to my stomach and is an miserable pathetic worthless excuse of the legit Zelda incarnation that is only there to insult the honer and intelligence of all other 1986/2005 previous Zeldas! And what the hell did the First-4-Figures company insisted to include ‘Puppet Zelda’ as a collectible instead of choosing Ilia?! I fucking tired of seeing a ‘Ganon’s Puppet Zelda’ being in “Twilight Princess”, and besides, I wished that abomination should never exist in “Twilight Princess” at all! What’s wrong with you people, why do you like ‘Puppet Zelda’ so much? You all just couldn’t just couldn’t leave that nasty part out, could you? You’re addicted! I’m not joking around, ‘Puppet Zelda’ is equivalent of the One Ring (it means you refuses to destroy it every time you actually trying to do so), the “Star Wars 8” mad cow’s blue splooge (means you’re porn junkies who don’t care it’s lame/suck), and the upper decker (it means it’s a turd that was dumb into the upper-tank your toilet, therefore when the toilet is flushed, the bowl is filled with shit water and afterwards it’s the shit that keeps on giving), you do realized that it’s not cool...not cool at all! And I also hate Akira Himekawa’s manga adaptation of that game! Oh I swear to god, next time I see one ‘Puppet Zelda’ image, I’m gonna spit it right in the face, give both of my middle finger at full force and then ran my fist right through it! Oh, I’m also gonna tell you something else from “Batman The Telltale Series”! Because, guess what its version of Poison Ivy looked like?
Though, personally, I never liked the Telltale version of Vicki Vale because the Vicki Vale I know and love was the helpless blonde screaming queen from one of Tim Burton’s only two “Batman” movies.
On the other hand, I have a theory–a very long, very late one, that is–about what really happened to Vicki Vale (real name Victoria Arkham) a.k.a Lady Arkham after the final battle in the first season…only reason why her body was never found ever since she was last seen being crushed to death by fallen rocks from the catacomb ceiling. Well, she quickly revives as something worse/deadlier than she already was known as Poison Ivy hence the new alias except with yellow eyes, grayish green skin and rune-like black veins (all which is perfect for Poison Ivy–instead of TP!Zelda, who always looked so stupid/inappropriate with that corrupted eye-and-skin color-scheme on, the very concept of which Nintendo should have canceled and handed to Telltale Games–and besides, Telltale has enough four green-eyed DC villains already without one more added) and yet she still is a harden shorter-haired warlike brunette instead of becoming a flowing longer-haired fey-like redhead…I guess this Vicki Vale is a composite character of all three…herself, Scarecrow (because of her full brown-and-grayish-black leather steam-punk armored suit, her white skull-like gas-mask and her use of madness-inducing drugs) and Poison Ivy.
You remember Pamela Isley, the original 'Poison Ivy’ by source material, she did died when her experiments have been resolved by either accident or sabotage and became plant-humanoid hybrid and same thing happened in “Batman & Robin”… so how did Vicki (instead of Pamela) became Poison Ivy, exactly?
Simple, it’s a little similar to that in “Batman & Robin”, she has a dozen glass vials of the berserk drugs in her pockets, when the rocks landed on her they also crushed those vials causing the liquid drugs to spill all over her, and after that it make her body to immediately sink down to the earth. After Bruce and Alfred safely left the catacombs and before Lady Arkham was reported missing, she literally sprung up like a magic beanstalk and became a walking basket of deadliest poisons herself–however, unlike Pamela, she grows thorns on her shaved head instead of having a long wavy bright red hair and has no control over plants nor does even care about nature/plant-life for that matter--in fact she’s more like Hexus from “Ferngully”--though she does have genocidal toxic tendencies and can inflict people by merely touching them and breathing at them just like she did using a syringe, though she do it from afar using a dart-gun loaded with a ammo full of toxic liquid she extracted from her very own body..yeah she has toxic waste for blood run through her veins enhanced by those drugs. Her body appeared to be much thinner than she ever was but still strong--in a horrible rubbery way (pretty much like Gollum)--she also grow thorns on her shoulders, forearms and knuckles, palms of her hands have gaping mouths resembles a Venus fly-trap, her bare feet are deformed and twisted like roots, her mouth is larger like a snake and in it she had a long slimy black vine-like tongue and thin needles for teeth like those from a cactus or a Venus fly-trap. She can even now puke a tennis-ball of black tar and a force-field of foul-smelling black acid, and she still wore her old Lady-Arkham suit that is now tattered and trashy-looking barbarian-like bikini-shaped. That’s the ugliest, most disturbing version of Poison Ivy you will saw in the ‘fan-disservice’ fashion...don’t me wrong but the Telltale Game producers designed the usual short-fat Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. ‘the Penguin’ as a tall normal-looking man (apart from his nose) who wore a skull-shaped mask no different than Black Mask except it’shaped like a bird’s skull....same way they designed the Riddler as a violent wiry 60-year-old man in the hood. So why not Poison Ivy--while she still is Lady Arkham--be the one who’s monstrous/ghoulish both on the inside and the outside for once awhile? Eh?
In the second season my sister suspects that Lady Arkham will return only as Poison Ivy…and after the first episode called “The Egnima” my sister expect that was her who murdered the Riddler with a toxic dart. Why would she do that?
Simple, just because the Riddler was one of the many criminals (next to the Vales, her abusive kidnappers who pretended to be her foster parents) who roamed free and unpunished on the time when Thomas Wayne, Carmine Falcone and Hamilton Hill were still alive and ruled Gotham, the same time when she had suffered as a child after they purposely orphaned her, that’s why!
While the game mainly focuses on John Doe on his journey to become the Joker (as either an unlikely vigilante nor naturally a villain), Poison Ivy spend the whole season lurking in shadows until the end just like Ganondorf did and pretty sure that both Bane and Catwoman will give her the brutal beatings to avenge the Riddler who was their closest friend, but it never happened when the final episode “The Same Stitch” came up–it instead reveals that the Riddler’s killer to be none other than the civilian named Tiffany.
Guess that why she did it because he indirectly murdered her father, Lucius Fox, and automatically send the rest of her once-happy family into psychological discord among themselves, so her one crime was justified…sorry for the spoilers. It would be possible that Lady Arkham could be the bigger bad of the whole series since the first season and if it was her, she would have show up and kill Alfred Pennyworth upright in the same way as how the Riddler died. But it’s shame that we never get see her returning nor would the Telltale version of Poison Ivy have ever officially existed, but both are the worthwhile.
Anyway… Isn’t that so hard for Nintendo to simply cancel that ‘Puppet Zelda’ a long time ago before “Twilight Princess” was officially announced and released?!
