Donde Zacarías

Localizado em pleno centro de Santiago, Donde Zacarías é uma ‘picada’ (termo chileno para se referir a um lugar onde é possível comer bem e barato) que reúne todo tipo de comensais. 

É conhecido por preparar a melhor maionese caseira (com ovo) e o melhor ‘bife a lo pobre’, prato de carne com ovo frito e cebola caramelizada usualmente acompanhado de batatas fritas. 

Mas, ninguém veio aqui para falar de carne precisamente! 

Além de contar com 22 anos de tradição e ser um verdadeiro ícone do centro de Santiago, eu  gosto deste restaurante principalmente pelo local privilegiado que tem; justo numa esquina céntrica da cidade, na mesmíssima Avenida Libertador Bernardo O’higgins (comumente chamada Alameda) com a Rua Dieciocho, bem perto do metrô Los Héroes. 

Esse cara da foto que está sorrindo e abrindo os olhos é meu irmão. Esse dia, a gente utilizou o ‘kit de emergência vegano’ kkk. Pedimos batatas fritas, um prato grande de salada que tinha tomate, molho, feijão verde, favas, couve-flor e pepino, e obviamente duas cervejas geladas para acompanhar o dia quente. Embora não ser um lugar ideal para veganos, é uma opção recomendável por servir as verduras frescas e as cervejas a um ótimo preço para ir com os amigos depois da faculdade e do trabalho.

In December I went out for breakfast in Liverpool and I had the best granola I have ever eaten 😍 quite a claim I know 😂 Since then I have tried to recreate it and finally I think I have succeeded! This nutty maple and cinnamon granola is probably the tastiest batch of granola I’ve ever made 😋 it’s so good!

dEATS

½ cup mix of maple syrup and @sweetfreedomuk cinnamon syrup

1 tbsp melted coconut oil

cinnamon

1 ¼ cups oats

1 ¼ cups chopped nuts

a good pinch of salt

Mix everything together and bake at about 160c until it is golden brown. It will crisp up as it cools.

It’s #pancakesaturday again! I don’t know what it is about Saturdays but I always seem to crave pancakes for breakfast, so here we are again 🥞🥞

I used the same recipe as last week (although sadly without chocolate chips as I used them all) which was @xbeccabella ’s vegan and gluten free kaiserschmarren recipe, subbing mashed sweet plantain for the applesauce 💯 such a fab recipe 😍

Sushi Buffet

Localizado no coração de uns dos bairros mais antigos de Santiago do Chile, ‘Sushi Buffet’ é um restaurante sushi-bar com opção bufê, que embora não ser focado nos comensais veganos, oferece uma ampla variedade nos sushis sem produtos animais. 

Nesta oportunidade quero apresentar oficialmente a Coni, minha parceira e namorada, com a que experimento pratos veganos onde seja que a gente estiver. Então, vocês vão ver ela no blog o tempo todo.

Na foto, a gente pediu duas cervejas: eu pedi uma Heineken e ela uma Austral de Calafate (um fruto da família dos ‘frutos vermelhos’ que cresce no sul do país), que é bem mais gostosa. E também, pedimos três tipos de sushi:

  • O que está mais perto dela era quente. Estava recheio de palmito, molho e nori (alga preta típica do sushi) e por fora estava coberto com arroz e ‘panko’ (pão ralado).
  • O que está no meio era frio. Estava recheio de pepino, cogumelo e nori  e por fora estava coberto com arroz e lâminas de abacate.
  • E o último também era frio. Estava recheio de pimentão vermelho, cenoura e nori, e por fora estava coberto de nori. 

Além de ter sushis, como já mencionei, o restaurante oferece desde cervejas artesanais (Kunstmann e Austral) e industriais (Cristal, Heineken Royal e Corona), até coquetéis muito gostosos, como por exemplo o Mojito Cubano, Cuba Libre, Piña Colada, entre outros.

É importante mencionar que os preços são acessíveis e o atendimento é muito bom, sempre que vamos ficamos muito satisfeitas.

My first attempt at making dosas! Dosas are a kind of Indian pancake which you typically have filled with curry 🤔 the first dosa wasn’t the most beautiful but practice makes perfect am I right? I filled mine with some more of the sweet potato and peanut butter curry I made earlier in the week and it was so good! I followed the recipe from the Dirty Vegan cookbook by Matt Pritchard, dm me if you want the details 🤗🤗

All I want right now is a massive bowl of blended bananas and jackfruit with cacao powder, a drop of peppermint oil and some sort of grainfree coconut granola topping🍌🥥

Vegan this is where it needs to begin, please don’t ignore

the clue is your teeth, no similarities to a carnivore


If were meant to eat meet then this would true

No knife and fork needed just incisors for you


No implementation we would have our own built In tools

No fork or knife needed what we’d have to tear it couldn’t be fooled


So ask yourself this If we are the advanced race

Then why can’t we take a moment to face


Global warning, to making animals no more

Fur coats, meat shouldn’t be something that we take likely ignore


Brainwashed we are so many are taking that step

No reason for that slaughter just research and meal prep


No meat, no dairy no cheese,the choices are your own it’s up to you what you do

But be warned it’s beneficial to the animals & you


Injected with steroids to bump up the size

even for that reason, meat should be avoided i tell you no lies


Open your eyes even if you don’t care the slaughter of a life

We are at the top of the food chain death dealers, it’s rife


So join me on a crusade to make this corrupted world better

Be vegan, be the future be free of guilt forever


The guilt, our hearts not open, is ignorance really bliss

Grab the reigns, please consider, try to be free of the burden that exists.


One day I’ll be vegan. Ill take that step, but give me time

Rome wasn’t built in a day it takes time to research, educate one self, I won’t go into this blindly. Il do it sensibly and then and only then will be a journey that’s worth taking.

Note : I am not preaching, I am not telling people what to do, because I wouldn’t appreciate being pressured into something, I personally would do the opposite. I’m pointing out something that to me makes sense. It’s your choice. If this helps point you in that direction then it’s all good. An ex put me on this path and I’m very grateful to her for that.
