The time has come to gather nature, bring it inside to warm our bones. Collect wood, pinecones, lichen; thank the universe for providing us with all that we truly need to survive. Light your fires and banish your worries. A time for rest, a moment to revitalize our souls and feed our minds with knowledge.

Ren and Jordan! This adorable pair met when they were children and have been by each other's side since. It’s fun and challenging to draw characters as children! In this piece I wanted Ren and Jordan to appear as opposites in design to create a foil effect! The classic opposites attract trope.
Very Fun note this was the only time both were the same height! Jordan would stop growing around middle school while Ren (with the help of a magical accident) would end up being over six feet by the time they are in High School.
Ren is a character owned by @sumomosketches ! If you love cute soft and romantic art you should definitely check them out!

Some Thoughts on Isekai
I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with isekai. On the one hand, I love the whole idea of the Portal Fantasy/Trapped in Another World scenario. Witch World, by Andre Norton, was one of the first books I ever read that used this setup, and I’ve had a soft spot for them ever since.
But Witch World did what a lot of modern isekai fail to do; it set up the main character of Simon Tregarth as a very specific person, with certain history, skills, and good reasons to abandon Earth as we know it for something... other. A WWII veteran, in fact, who’d fallen into the black market, had run for his life, and was prepared to die fighting until someone made him a very surprising offer.
Most modern isekai don’t do this. The Main Character is simply summoned to another world, or hit by Truck-kun, or wakes up reincarnated some other way. Their past life is left mostly vague and unspecified. They’re Joe Average EverySalaryMan (or woman), and with the exception of using past accounting skills to run a duchy or adapting programming to create spells, who they were in the past and what they did to get by just... doesn’t matter much.
I get that’s usually intentional, so the reader can easily imagine themselves in the MC’s place. Yet I think this is a flaw, and makes a lot of isekai so much less than they could be. You don’t empathize best with an Average Guy, you empathize with a specific person. Even if they’re very unlike you. A unique person is a human being, and believe it or not, by nature humans are predisposed to like other humans. (As long as they’re not swinging something sharp and pointy your way, at least.)
More, if you don’t know what a person was like and doing pre-transfer, how can you get the full Awesome of the new world? And how can you get the full Awesome of someone learning that new world and what to do in it?
I ran across a YouTube review on an isekai (specifically Ya Boy Kongming), on which someone left a comment that a lot of isekai “burn out” because they go for the next fight instead of character development and an evolving story. (YBK made sure to weave all the characters’ stories into solid arcs, so it dodged that bullet.) Which ties in, because if you don’t have a starting base for your character, how can you develop it?
...And yes, this relates to a story idea in my head, because it seems to want to be an isekai, but I have solid characters for everybody except the isekai’d guy. Very frustrating.
Working on it, though. Library research ahoy....

Astrology rant of the day
I'm told I shouldn't judge people based on their sun sign, and I don't. I judge them by their entire precisely calculated natal chart. It's star math at this point.
You mean to tell me that I shouldn't put people into boxes when they literally possess at least one of the characteristics of their zodiac sign. It's always those who talk a lot, usually about others, who'd spill the entire American constitution worth of flattery just to make an impression that are Geminis. I personally love a smooth talker as long as they don't make their business everyone's business.
It's small habits like this that give people away; the way they perceive and react to the world around them.
P.S. Absolutely no shade to Geminis as I have one in my chart, I'm simply advising you to fish out the key points amongst the entirety of words you're spilling out. And try to differentiate whether you talk because it feels good or because it will get you somewhere.

Loving writing a pretty poorly written and lowkey silly story about a Peruvian pureblood student who transfers to hogwarts in her 4th year because her father is a famous “dueler killer” (who has earned the nickname “the grim reaper”) who got invited to a tournament in the UK
Yk a story about a character who has daddy/mommy issues but isn’t her entire personality but is just afraid to disappoint and disobey them.
About a character who realizes that there is something going on at hogwarts and her fathers dueling tournament and has to figure out what’s going on and how to prevent it.
About a character who has to deal with her new friends bullshit and learn to not be afraid of her father and mother and try and figure out how to handle the situation before it even has a chance to start
It’s also uploaded on Quotev and Wattpad under the same name(Ik, the forbidden sunken place but I wanted to see where would be next to upload it on-)
Follow to be updated on little things about the story, random info, when I’m writing and when I’m done writing, and to learn more about the characters!

WITCH WORLD AESTHETICS | CHARACTERS: Hilarion
That he was an adept I already knew, one above the Wise Women of Estcarp as I was above Ayllia in the scale of Power control. Now I learned his name, or rather the name by which he went, since that old law that the naming of true names was forbidden lest it offer some enemy a straight course into mastery held. He was Hilarion, and once he had dwelt in the citadel of the gate. He had created the gate because his seeking mind ever pushed on and on for new learning. And, having opened it, it followed that he was constrained to explore what lay beyond.

"Witch World, cycle of Simon Tregarth", by Andre Norton.
"A whirlwind formed under the arch and dissipated. Simon saw a moor stretching out under the pale dawn, sun. A fresh breeze with a strange, invigorating scent played in hi hair. Something inside him tensed like a dog on a lead, eager to get back to the source of the wind and run across the moor.", from Witch World.
"The woman raised her right arm. From a large metal bracelet on her wrist, a beam of light burst through the mist. As she beckoned Simon to be quiet with her other hand, he widened his eyes, almost certain to see dark shapes moving through the curtain of mist.", from Witch World.
