"In all my travels, one thing I've always found fascinating was the different reactions to to idea of 'harpy'. On the western coastlines of Tyn, one hears hushed sailors tales of ships smashed against sea rocks by crews caught by siren songs. In the east, the tales warn of haunting alkonost melodies amongst the Strombreaker peaks that not only call fools to their deaths, but of storms seemingly unnaturally called, despite the regions tendencies for non stop squalls. In inland regions in the the Northwest, marshes comes to mind, with the deadly keens of banshees drifting on the wind; and among the inland mountains of Yin, the simple, calming songs of kalavinka are the stories of norm."
