Now that the Sokvia Accords have been revoked (I always thought they were a bad idea myself), I wonder how you would have chosen if you had been a superhero at the time. I have a hunch, but I'd like to see if I've read you correctly.

I find the idea of that accord absurd, however, back when all that happened, I think it was not the moment to act all rebel because there were priorities, the media was attacking the Avengers and there were real menaces like Zemo and Hydra ready to act. I agree with Steve Rogers' ideal of submitting being absurd, hover, I think Tony did the right thing at first- played cool, let the dust settle so he could act and do the right things later, and I doubt Tony ever liked the idea of that accord- everyone hated it. Steve put all his friends and allies at risk by trying to save one of his friends and Tony failed to unite his allies to focus on what was trulty relevant. In the end, Tony had to fight all alone and that's why he lost.

If I were there when all that happened and I were an independent hero instead of belonging to the Masters of the Mystic Arts, I would be very conflicted. I would hate the idea of lowering my head like Tony did, but I probably would at first, otherwise, they possibly would imprison me and I would be useless. I wouldn't sign or support the accord at all, even if I had to quit "being a hero" or portal away to not be found and erase their memories about me, I would keep postponing signing that thing until the end. We can't act on impulse, even when we don't agree with what's happening, we have to think and sometimes hide our opinions like we hide our cards in Poker. Imagine if all the Avengers had peacefully agreed and pretended to be quiet, setting a future date to maybe sign the accord- then once things calmed down a bit, they formulated a plan to act behind everyone's back and supported each other instead of fighting. Things would have been easier. The beginning of the Sokovia accord was still diplomacy (despite being awful), but Steve rebelling took all the alerts to red and heroes like Wanda and Scott were imprisoned in a base in the depths of the ocean. If everyone remained united, no Avenger would ever have been chained by any organization like that back then, at least that's what I think. Does that mean I wouldn't go rebel and break everything when things got worse? Nah, I probably would at some point if they tried to chain me, but I think you get my point. If all the heroes united like the Iluminatti from Earth 838 did, not even Wakanda would be able to stop them.

In other words...I would try to be as neutral as possible and...try to help both Tony and Steve...while trying to not take sides. As a Master of the Mystic Arts I would have to step away from all the fighting. But if I were an independent hero...I probably would try to make everyone stop fighting...which was...the most logical option. Of course everyone would be real mad at me for that but people who hate me would hate me anyway so...doesn't matter. I can even imagine myself trying to wrap everyone with the Crimson Bands and pulling them all back to Avengers garage while yelling at them to f- ing behave because it's not the time to cause a war.
