· born to muggle parents, mother a nurse, father an engineer - very middle class, raised in a small town not far from London, has a lot of relatives in Glasgow, family owns a holiday home in Scotland

· loves muggle literature, big fan of Sherlock Holmes and Lord of the Rings

· was insanely excited when he found out about Hogwarts, would not shut up for weeks to his parents about how he is going to grow up to become Gandalf

· sorted into Hufflepuff and proud of it, very quickly settled into a friend group of five that was more or less maintained through all years of Hogwarts

· enjoyed DADA and Transfiguration classes best and was a little disappointed that he was better at the first than at second

· likes playing quidditch for fun but never wanted to get on the Hufflepuff team

· made good friends with Arthur Weasley, who was a year his senior, on second course. never got very close, but carried out a stable pleasant relationship into their adulthood

· met Andromeda Black when he was on fourth course at Hogwarts, it felt to him like they instantly clicked, but he could not be sure she felt the same way - for a long while in the beginning it seemed she wasn't really ready to open up to him

· started dating Andromeda when he was on six course, and was hit over the head with an avalanche of details of pureblood family realities that he wasn't aware of

· decided he wanted to be an auror at the age of fourteen and almost never regretted the decision

· brilliantly passed NEWT exams, partially because of that was bullied in the first year of training by his mentor, Moody, who thought the boy was bound to have attitude problems

· never felt close enough to his parents, since both of them had very demanding jobs, so when Nymphadora arrived he promised himself he would do his best to give his daughter enough time and he succeded at that

· loves muggle travelling modes, misses that about the wizarding world, enjoys visiting new places on vacation, but has a particular soft spot for France

· takes his whiskey neat, his coffee always with cinnamon

· Youngest of the three Black sisters (two years age gap with Andromeda and four with Bellatrix) and Druella's favourite

· classical youngest child, a little spoilt, a lot of a teacher's pet, but also strongly influenced by her family's opinions of what she is supposed to be

· practically a little copy of her mother

· the only one of Druella's daughters that did an exchange year in Beauxbatons and reconnected with the part of Rosier family still living in France

· speaks impeccable French, plays piano, but practically never sings - probably solely because Druella herself didn't like singing

· loves dancing, wanted to be a ballerina when she was very little

· reads classics both wizarding and muggle, had started collecting a secret library in her childhood room

· can't fly on a broom for the life of her, somehow magically escaped those classes in first year

· enjoyed Potions at Hogwarts and quite excelled actually, but never pursued a carrier in connection to that - searching for a job is not what her mother deemed ladylike

· met Lucius in fifth year at Hogwarts. very hard to tell if it was love at first sight or Narcissa gaslighting herself into liking someone her family would approve of

· any way it was, she is the only one of Druella's daughters to be happy on her wedding with someone her parents suggested

· Narcissa was surprised when Andromeda eloped, but even more surprised with the family's harsh reaction. Despite sharing family beliefs and her closeness to her parents, Narcissa didn't want to cut Andromeda out

· visited Andromeda and Ted's house in secret a few times and got introduced to little Nymphadora, keeps writing letters to Andromeda every once in a while

· Bellatrix had tried to convince her to join Death Eaters several times, but Narcissa never wore the Dark mark: at first uninterested and then repulsed by the politics

· before marriage wanted to have several children, but after taking care of baby Draco she realized she is quite happy and busy with just one

· generally admires art, deep down would love to move to Paris with her family, but Lucius' job would not allow

Alastor's Biggest Regret

A Hazbin Hotel Idea

so i just found out about the existence of Hazbin Hotel and it has demons so totally my cup of tea

I have been familiar with the fandom for a total of 48 hours, have seen several human Alastor fanarts and headcannons and have had 4 cups of coffee today so here we are

Houston we have a headcannon

I barely know the fandom so take this with a grain of salt. Just a fanfic idea:

her name was Madeleine and she was Husk's younger sister, Husk had known Alastor for a while by the time he accidentally introduced them to each other

Husk sincerely didn't want to, he had been getting a bad vibe from Alastor from the very start, yet here they were - the three of them talking one Thursday night at a local pub in summer 1922

Madeleine and Alastor instantly hit it off: he was extremely charming when he wanted to be, she found it easy to accept people with oddities. Husk was brooding and for once in his life trying to end the evening early

the pleasant acquaintance soon turned into courtship, Alastor was quite smitten by the vivid character of his unfortunate friend's sister, and that feeling was reciprocated

in about a year they were happily married, living together in a lovely townhouse in New Orleans

well, happily for a while...

Madeleine had always, almost since day one, noticed her husbands... unusual tendencies. The weirdly dark sense of humor every now and again, the sharp switches in his mood that happened not so often but not as rarely as to go unnoticed

the first few years of the marriage seemed cloudless, almost too good to be true, Alastor's job on the radio was going uphill and he was enjoying it tremendously, Madeleine had settled into a position in the newspaper that she had wanted for a while and they were deeply in love with each other

yet too good to be true turned to be the correct evaluation

Alastor had violent, destructive tendencies. Husk had warned her. She never thought it was serious. To be fair Alastor had perfected the art of concealing his true face

...and hiding the bodies

but destructivity often happens to progress and so it did in Alastor. At some point Madeleine simply had to notice something was off

and she did

he was late from work more often, his aggressive moods were starting to get regular. She tried to confront him on it, figure out what was wrong. He got defensive

he was defensive every time she tried to find a way for them to discuss it. when his defensiveness wasn't enough he got angry

and soon abusive

Alastor didn't want to be so, if anything definitely not with her, but he couldn't help it: in a mix of fear of being exposed and desperation not to lose her

Madeleine was growing scared of him. She tried to stay silent

until one day she found a shirt with too many bloodstains to be his own and silence stopped being an option

when she woke up in hell she would barely remember the fight that happened: she wasn't straight away planning to expose him although she probably should have

but she would remember the piercing pain of the big kitchen knife going through her ribcage

Alastor got scared, then mad, then terrified of her slamming the door and disappearing from his life forever and then a cruel red fog descended on him

when he found himself on the kitchen floor holding her motionless body and covered in her blood, he cried. He clutched her to his chest, rocking back and forth, begging her not to go. Over the destroyed, evaporised ashes of his demonic soul would anyone ever find out about how that night looked for him

when Charlie asked Madeleine why she was doomed to hell, Madeleine responded that she bedded a serial killer

Madeleine would never know that the real reason was because the said serial killer found the idea of dooming his wife's soul to hell through a dark ritual much easier to accept then the thought of never crossing pathways with her in the afterlife

when Alastor showed up at the hotel Madeleine begged Charlie to never mention her name

when they inevitably met and Alastor, for the first time in 90 years realised that his ritual worked, Madeleine slapped the feared Radio Demon on the face

"we had our bit of falling out, every couple has that!" "a falling out is an argument and few days apart, not a knife in your wife's chest!"

she told him that never in eternity would she let him get close to her again

and he noticed that even in her demon form she still kept the little blue starry sky locket that he gave her on their wedding night

· used to play flute, quite excelled at it actually, still plays from time to time up to this day

· fond of potions as most Slytherins but her preferred subjects remained Herbology and Astronomy

· was never a fan of quidditch, obviously received necessary broom skills, but never flew unless absolutely necessary

· despised Cygnus for pretty much the entirety of her life, hid it very poorly and got frequently punished for lack of respect

· tolerable relationship with Druella, but truth to be told Bellatrix was the mother figure of her entire childhood

· loved Narcissa dearly, but was truly and insanely close with Bellatrix - when Bellatrix was old enough to get a room separate from her sisters, it ended up being Narcissa's - Meda and Bella kept a common bedroom until very late in their teens

· most of Andromeda's music and literature taste was inspired by her older sister

· met Ted Tonks for the first time on her second year of Hogwarts, he was two years older, but they almost instantly became friends

· started dating Ted on her fourth year at Hogwarts. she used to share everything exciting with Bellatrix. the day Ted asked her out was the day she started withholding news from her sister

· her family never knew about their relationship - well, Narcissa did to be fair, but she kept that knowledge to herself

· she was never seriously planning to elope with Ted, but one night soon after her 18th birthday she overheard her parents talking about her planned engagement to Rodolphus Lestrange - expressed her disagreement to Bellatrix, expecting support

· when Bellatrix said that their parents were being reasonable, Andromeda did not disagree. but the next night she ended up on Ted's doorstep with one suitcase and no way back

· very excited about muggle cars, learned to drive and got a licence when she lived with Ted's parents shortly after she eloped

· regrets loss of contact with her sisters, but would only admit it in a drunken late night painfully sincere kitchen conversation with her husband

· Nymphadora's name was supposed to be Bellatrix all along, then Andromeda found out about her sister being a Death Eater... the name choice suddenly changed

· loves muggle gadgets and devices, especially television, big fan of science fiction and fantasy movies
