Bennett x Fem!Reader - Aster
Tumblr media
A/N: The last post kinda blew up so of COURSE I’m doing more in this style. Also he’s totally the son of the pyro archon I don’t take criticism
Fun fact: at the end I legit started to blush a little bit.
Trigger/Content Warnings: Regicide/murder, violence, PTSD/nightmares, kidnapping, light swearing
Word Count: 3,560
Request: No
Summary: Everything that has been Lost will eventually be found; be it Princesses or swords.
----------------------------------------------------------
Very few places in Teyvat still bowed to royalty and Mondstadt was no different.
The people of Mondstadt bowed to alcohol and freedom; the people of Liyue bowed to commerce and wealth.
But you did not hail from Mondstadt or Liyue - you were born into a country far away from Archons and Visions. A country that was set under siege 10 years ago, a country that lost its rulers with a swift slash of a sword.
Rumors spiraled of the young princess escaping with a woman who burned with embers in her eyes and infernos in her hands. Some say the women took the princess only to end the royal line herself, others say she raised the child as her own. As more and more time passed on, people agreed that the woman never existed and the princess died during the attacks.
“Bennett!” You shouted from the balcony overlooking the entryway of Mondstadt. The white-haired boy's head snapped up, a smile growing on his face. You jumped over the balcony and ran to him, “How was your adventure?”
“I found so much treasure!” He began sorting through his pockets and eventually brought out a small bag, he opened it and brought out a golden ring with a raven insignia pressed onto the blue jewel attached to it. He extended his hand and smiled shyly, you slowly set your right hand down on his extended hand. The ring slipped onto your finger perfectly.
“Woah,” you gaped at the ring, admiring the way the jewel seemed to absorb every bit of light, “Where did you find this?”
Bennett chuckled nervously, not wanting to tell you the truth of how many traps he fell into while receiving the ring, “J-just found it... y’know... lying around.”
You looked up at him and narrowed your eyes, “Benny...”
He scratched the back of his head and mumbled under his breath, “I only almost died like... twice.”
“Bennett!” You yelled and lightly smacked his arm, “Don’t risk your life for this stuff! We’ve talked about this.”
“But you looked so happy when you saw the ring...”
“And I’m happier each time you come home to me! Promise you won’t do this anymore!”
“But...”
“Promise!”
“Fine! Fine. I promise I won’t risk my life for gifts anymore.” He sighed but couldn’t contain the soft blush on his cheeks.
“Thank you.” You grabbed his hand and squeezed them, “Really, thank you. I... just please don’t get hurt for me.”
He smiled brightly and kneeled slightly to match your height, “You’re the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me, (Y/N).”
You laughed and began to jog away, “Where did THAT come from? Barbatos save me, you’re so cute.”
“Cute?!” Bennett half-laughed half-yelled in shock, “(Y/N)!” He started running after you, “(Y/N)! You can’t just say that and run away!”
“Come and catch me then!” You giggled as he chased after you. It didn’t take long for him to catch up to you, grab you by the waist, pick you up and spin you around. You laughed and looked at him, “How come I’m nearly as tall as you, yet you can still effortlessly pick me up?”
He smiled and nuzzled his chin into your hair, “I spend all day fighting hilichulrs and climbing mountains, did you think I couldn’t pick you up?”
“I guess I knew you could, I just didn’t think you would.” You spun out of his grasp and grabbed his hands, “Ooh, that reminds me! You have to hear about this story I just found!”
“Yeah?”
“It’s so cool! It’s about Vanessa...” as the two of you walked back to your small house, you regaled him with stories you had read that day, gushing over the vast history that Mondstadt had.
When you had finished talking, the moon had taken its rightful spot in the sky and called you and Bennett to sleep. You lied on the bed and waited to feel Bennett's warm body press against your chest, his heavy arms draped over your sides. Within moments of him getting into bed, he fell fast asleep. You smiled and buried your head under his chin, letting sleep overtake you.
Screams echoing in your ears, you bit your lip as tears fell down your cheeks. The dress you had treasured was torn and burnt, you could hear pounding footsteps outside your door, looking for your head to hang on a wall.
You didn’t know when this started, all you knew is that you needed to hide. You tried your best to block out the noise, but you could still hear their death thralls and see your parents extend their bloodied hands towards you.
“Run.” They had whispered. And run you did.
You ran down the twisting corridors, you hid under your Father's desk and prayed to something - anything - that you would survive this and see your family again. But even as a 6-year-old, you knew that your chances of survival were slim to none.
Soft footsteps slowly made their way across the room, you felt heat begin to boil your skin. A woman kneeled down and set her blade on the ground.
“P... please don’t hurt me.” You shook.
She smiled; a warm and comforting smile, “Are you (Y/N) (L/N)?”
You stared at her with wide eyes, your heart sinking into your stomach. This was the end. You were going to die here. Your family's legacy would crash and tumble, the last thing you’d see was this woman's bright green eyes and smile.
She outstretched her hand, “Come, Princess, I can save you.”
You woke up with a deep gasp, sweat and tears mixing on your face. You looked at Bennett who was still sound asleep, you slowly slid out of the bed and took deep breaths.
How long was it since you’ve last this nightmare? What was it about sleeping next to Bennett that caused you to see the woman clearer? You shook the thoughts out of your head and decided to take a walk to clear your head.
Flower picking always seemed to calm you down. You crept outside your house and into the Mondstadt fields to reminisce in the familiar scents of flowers. You sat on the ground and quietly hummed to yourself, completely lost in thought, not noticing the figure watching you from a distance.
Slowly, he crept up to you until he grabbed your wrist. You jumped in shock and smiled nervously. “Hello?”
“What are you doing... out so late at night?”
“I... um, just picking flowers.” You used your left hand to gesture around, “It’s so pretty out, I just couldn’t sleep until I brought a few home for my boyfriend...”
“Oh?” The man kneeled down, “Boyfriend, eh? What’s he like?”
“He’s... well, he’s really unlucky.” You looked around to see if he had any allies with him - but even if he did you knew you couldn’t take him in a fight. You were more of a kind soul than a violent one. “He’s probably expecting me home any minute now, so I should really go...” you began to pull out of the man's grasp when he tightened his grip on your wrist.
“What a pretty ring.” He held your hand up to his eyes, “Not as pretty as you, of course.”
“T-Thank you?”
“Would you mind if we took a walk? I get a bit lonely walking through these fields all by myself.” He cheerily laughed.
“I... my b-boyfriend...”
He smiled brightly but his grip began to become painful, “I’m sure he won’t mind, will he? Oh, speaking of! I never got your name, how rude of me.”
“I really need to go.” You tried to pull out of his grasp again.
“Now, now. I know those eyes. Right, Princess?”
“Pri-” you began, but before you could finish your sentence he swung at your chin and you crumpled onto the ground.
“What a great find!” He chuckled to himself as he lifted your unconscious body over his shoulder, “The amount of money we’ll get for her...”
Bennett woke up the same way he does every day: with a sore neck and on the floor. He sighed and sat up, happy that he remembered to put pillows on the floor last night. He looked at the empty bed and smiled to himself, you were probably out picking flowers or meeting with some of your friends. It always made him happy that you had things to do while he was out adventuring, but it always made him happier when you stayed near the city.
It’s not that he didn’t trust you. You weren’t naive or sheltered just... not someone cut out for battle. He had tried countless times to teach you how to fight, even got his Dads involved, but you always seemed hopeless.
Your stance was wrong, you’d drop the sword or you’d nearly poke someone's eye out. Eventually, you decided to just stay near. Stay safe. Fighting simply wasn’t your thing - and that’s fine! He’d be okay with it either way.
He changed into his clothes, headed out of his house, and walked around Mondstadt. Katheryne smiled and waved hello, he walked over to her and asked about new commissions. She gave him 4 more and bid him good luck, before he set out he asked if she’d seen you today.
“(Y/N)?” She rocked back and forth on her heels, “No... I don’t think so.”
Bennett felt concern but quickly shook it away, “Tell me if you see her!”
As he set out on his commissions, he found himself being distracted. Not seeing you when he woke up was normal enough, but Katheryne not seeing you? That was weird. He only even asked as a formality - Katheryne always saw you. She always chatted with you before you met up for midday tea.
He palmed the hilt of his sword as he began walking to his second commission of the day, completely lost in thought and not noticing the small hole in the ground. One misstep was all it took for Bennett to trip and roll his ankle.
Bennett winced in pain and slowly brought himself out of the hole, “Just my luck, huh...” He reached into his backpack, pulled out medical supplies, and set to work on mending his wounds. On the ground, he spotted a few picked windwheel asters scattered around. He pulled himself over to them and smiled to himself, imagining the smile on your face when he brought your favorite Mondstadt specialty home to you.
As he twirled the windwheel aster between his fingers, he recalled his earlier unease. With a quick shake of his head, he replaced it with happier thoughts. He pulled himself up, tucked the windwheel aster into his belt, and headed home.
The unlucky boy more stumbled than walked home, beating the pain with fantasies of your smile.
As he arrived back in Mondstadt, he walked over to Katheryne who perked up when she saw him.
“Bennett!” She called, “You’ve been gone a while. Did you complete your commissions?”
“Not really,” he laughed quietly, “ended up rolling my ankle.”
“Oooh,” her eyebrows knit together, “I think Barbara is still working tonight.”
“No, no, I’ll be fine. I can just sleep it off.” He began to step away when he remembered something, he knocked onto the counter with his gloved hand and shot a big smile, “Oh, that reminds me. Have you seen (Y/N) at all?”
Katherynes concern fell into nervousness, “I... I was going to ask you that.”
“I gotta go.” He broke out into a sprint towards your house, the pain from his ankle seemed insignificant compared to his pounding heart. As if some lucky break, he didn’t trip or run into anyone on his way home.
He threw the door open and yelled, “(Y/N)?!” No response. He searched each room in the house, tearing apart every spot that you could even possibly be hiding in before ran to the Knights of Favonius headquarters. He practically barreled through the door to the library and with heavy breaths looked a startled Lisa in the eyes.
“Bennett?” She took a second to regain her composure, “Oh, actually, have you seen (Y/N) lately? We just got a new book I think she’d-”
Before she could finish, Bennett left the library and ran into the Acting Grand Masters office.
“Master Jean!” He panted, his arms shaking as he held the edges of the doorframe.
Jean looked up at him, piles of paperwork covering her desk, “Can I help you?”
“Yes! Yes, you can!” He walked into the room, tripped over his feet, got up, and sat down in the chair, “You’ve heard of (Y/N), right?”
“(Y/N)...” she repeated, “Oh, yes. I have. She helps me out every now and then.”
“Have you seen her at all today?”
Jean leaned back in her chair, tapping her pen against her lips, “No, I can’t say I have. Why?”
Bennett groaned and leaned forward, “I don’t know where she is! I woke up today and she was gone, which, yeah, is pretty normal for her but still! Not you, Katheryne, or Lisa have seen her! I’m really scared - she can’t fight and she keeps going out to pick flowers really far away! Please, please help me find her.”
She folded her hands, “What’s your name?”
“B-Bennett!”
“Bennett. Take Lisa with you and look around Mondstadt. If you still can’t find her, come back to me and we’ll discuss this again. Understood?”
“I’ve looked around Mondstadt!”
“Okay,” she exhaled, “I’ll organize a search party.” Jean stood, grabbed her vision, and walked with purpose.
Bennett sat in the chair, shaking. “(Y/N)... where are you...”
You woke up with a pounding headache and with something wet pressed against the side of your face. There was a tight rope binding your hands behind your back and chains connecting your feet to a small metal cage you were trapped in. You sat up and took deep breaths, trying to recall what happened.
“1 million mora? For a princess? We can do better than that.” A voice sneered.
“How do we know she’s really the princess?”
“Wait until you see her eyes! The Lost (L/N) Princess and she fell right into our hands! Hah! How lucky!”
You looked around your surroundings, other than the cage you were in, it seemed like a normal campsite. You didn’t quite recognize the area you were in and that worried you.
“H... hey!” You called out. The two voices fell quiet and eventually, two men came into your view.
“You’re awake.” A young man with orange eyes and dusty brown hair spoke, a purple face mask concealing his mouth and nose.
You narrowed your eyes at him, recognizing him as the man who took you hostage, “Where am I?”
The second man who had a hat covering his face kneeled in front of you, happiness beaming in his light blue eyes, “Well, I’ll be damned. It really is her.”
He grabbed the chains on your feet and pulled you towards him, “I’ve been looking for you for so long.”
“Let me go.” You growled, “I swear to god when Benny finds you-”
“Benny?” The man wearing the hat turned towards the masked man, “Whose Benny?”
“Her boyfriend, probably.”
“Hmm...” he leaned back and thought for a moment, “Well, you know what they say about loose ends...”
“W...wait.” Panic began to tear through your body, “Wait, please don’t. Oh, god, no. Please don’t hurt him. I’ll do whatever you ask just... please.”
“Anything?”
“Anything.”
“Well, stay put.” He opened the door on the cage and motioned for you to open your mouth, you complied. He ripped a piece of cloth off your clothes and tied it around your mouth, “Can’t have you screaming for help now, can we?” He chuckled and shut the cage again.
“What do we do now?” The masked man stood, anxiously bouncing on his heels.
“Find the boy.”
“And?”
“Well,” the man sat in front of your cage, pulling down his mask and showing you a bright grin, “See how much he wants his beloved back.”
You glared at him with tears in your eyes, trying to push the gag out of your mouth but to no avail.
Bennett sat on your bed, trying to keep himself from crying. 3 days. 3 days you’ve been missing. He wrapped himself in your clothes, taking deep breaths and trying to smell you on whatever remnant he had left.
The smell was fading.
He choked back tears and focused on you. Your smile, your voice, your favorite story, anything. Anything at all.
A loud knock at his door made him jump. Excitement and nervousness built into his feet as he ran to the door, maybe the Knights found you, maybe it was you. He threw the door open and saw a small slip of paper on the ground. With shaking hands, he picked it up, and when he finished reading its contents he couldn’t stop himself from crying or collapsing onto the ground.
Benny -
You probably want to know where (Y/N) is. She’s safe. For now, at least.
You have 24 hours to either get 30 million mora or something of equal value to
get her back safely. If you miss the deadline, we will sell her to the highest bidder. Deliver the money to the great tree in Windrise.
Come alone.
Proof that we have her is attached.
On the other side was a lock of your hair. He clutched it to his chest before carefully tucking it into his satchel, and just like that he took off searching for each mora or item in your house that could even possibly have value.
He would have sold the clothes off his back if it meant he’d see you again. But in the end, he fell short.
Not even 1 million mora.
He walked to the great tree, hoping he could strike some sort of deal. With his sword at his hip, he knew what he had to do.
The unlucky boy shook as he set the sword against the tree, his eyes filled with tears as a single man came from the shadows.
“You didn’t bring anything?” He scoffed, “She really loves you more than you love her.”
“She... she’s alive? Thank... thank the Archons.” His head drooped in relief, “M-my sword. It’s worth at least 30 million mora. Take it.”
The man stepped forward and inspected the sword, “Hm.” He practiced a few slashes with it, “Yes, this seems like it’ll catch a fair price.”
“Where is she?” He pulled himself to his feet, “I gave you what you wanted... where is she?”
He laughed under his mask, “Long gone. As we speak, she’s being pawned off.”
“Wh... what?” Bennett stepped forward, “I did what you asked.”
“Yes, you did. A 30 million mora sword and whatever she sells for... now my buddies and I will have the life we’ve always wanted.”
“That’s not fair.” He began to feel his blood boil under his skin, “You... you can’t do that.”
Bennett saw red, and the next thing he knew his sword was back in his hands and he was marching directly to you.
Wrath and fear forced his body on and it only increased tenfold as he saw a group of people standing around a cage, one of the men counting mora as he loudly spoke about your name to the onlookers.
Fire roared inside of him, their arrows and swords burned the moment he got near. Everything was burned to ash, except for you. He turned to the cage and felt his chest constrict as he saw tears pooling down your face and a gag keeping you silent.
He dropped his sword and ran over to the cage, it didn’t take him long to open the lock and remove the gag.
“Benny!” You gasped when you could speak, “Oh, god, Benny, I was so scared. T-They... they said they were going to kill you.”
“I’m here, it’s okay.” He broke the chains off your feet and untied the rope around your hands, “Can you walk?”
“I... I think?” He helped you out of the cage, but you immediately stumbled when you touched the ground. He wrapped his arms around your waist and caught you.
“I’ll carry you. Are you tired?” He sat you on the ground for a moment as he sheathed his sword, before picking you up bridal style and making sure to tighten his hands around so he wouldn’t drop you.
“A... a little.”
“I bet,” he beamed, “Bennys Adventure Team is here to help you!”
Your laughter dissolved into coughing.
Bennett frowned and held you close, “When we get home, I’ll read you a story.”
“About Vanessa?”
“About anything you want.”
You leaned into his chest and wrapped your arms around his neck, “As long as it’s you... I don’t care what it is.”
He was going to respond, but he noticed your eyes fall shut. He leaned down to make sure you were still breathing, smiled to himself, and began the long trek home.
Whenever you wanted to pick flowers or do anything outside of the city, he’d always offer to come with you. He doesn’t want you to go missing again. At night, he draws you close against his chest as he sleeps.

Wild Horses- Part 2 (Prequel to Slow Burn)
Pairing: Modern AU Fili x Female OC Prim
Words: 3682
Summary: Fili and Prim enjoy a night out with Kili and Tauriel playing pool and singing karaoke. Prim attempts to make Fili see how much she’s grown to care for and want him since they met a year ago, but something is holding Fili back.
Warnings: Rated M. Alcohol consumption, swearing. Mentions of intercourse. Discussions of masturbation. Unwanted advances. A punch and bloody nose/hand. Mentions of war/military/deployment. Slight dom/sub suggestion.
A/N: This was so enjoyable to write, I had so much fun building the dynamic between them and adding to that slow burn. But be warned, angst is ahead in the coming chapters!
The song that Prim sings is linked below if anyone wants to listen to really get a feel for the chapter. (The original song is by the Divinyls but I like this cover better).
Thank you again to @guardianofrivendell for editing, listening to my struggles and always giving wonderful advice and endless support!
—————
“It’s your round this time!” Prim whined.
“No, no, I got the last one remember? It’s definitely your round,” Fíli argued.
She did remember, she was just hoping he wouldn’t.
“Fine. I’ll make you a bet, whoever loses this game has to get the drinks,” Prim wagered.
“Deal!” Fíli moved around the pool table to line up his next shot. Before he did, he looked up at Prim and smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “But the loser also has to go up there and sing a song.”
“You bastard! You’re only betting that much because you know I’ll lose and you won’t have to sing.”
He grinned at her, amused at upping the stakes.
“Exactly,” he said, sinking his shot as he did.
Prim was awful at pool, leaving her questioning exactly why she would make a bet with him, knowing it would result in her buying the drinks and now apparently also singing a song in front of the entire bar.
She focused as she lined up her shot, praying she was successful in landing the ball in the intended pocket but faltered when she felt Fíli’s body cover hers from behind just as she attempted her hit, missing her shot completely and losing the game.
“See, you should’ve aimed more over there-,” Fíli teased, laughing as she whipped around and smacked him hard on the chest.
“I would’ve got that in if it wasn’t for you!”
He looked at her doubtfully, and although she was pissed at him for making her lose the game, she enjoyed the proximity of his body to hers. His hand remained on her waist in an almost claiming way, probably making them look like lovers to people who didn’t know them.
Prim reluctantly stepped out of his grasp and gave him the most devilish look she could as she walked over to the stage where the karaoke machine was set up. There were large speakers surrounding it and a single microphone standing in the middle, waiting for its next performer.
Prim couldn’t help but grin despite the embarrassment she felt, watching Fíli clap and hoot loudly at her as he leaned against the pool table, Kili and Tauriel following suit from the table where they sat.
She knew exactly which song she was going to sing, something that would hopefully turn Fíli on while also letting him know how she felt about him.
After spending so much time getting to know each other over the last year, Prim knew without a doubt that he was the only one she could ever want. Their relationship so far was effortless, friends who could make each other laugh and were able to share anything with each other, the good and the bad, all traced with whispers of an eagerness for more.
She adored his family and they welcomed her without hesitation as a part of their own. Prim especially admired the relationship between the two brothers, as well as the one they shared with Thorin.
It made her wish she could say the same about her own family, but this found family was all she needed.
And Fíli… Fíli was incredible. He still treated her as sweetly and with as much care as he had the day they met.
He evened her out. His calm manner balanced her fiery ways. Nobody else’s personality had ever complimented hers more and he made her feel instantly happy just by being in the same room.
So it didn’t come as a surprise to Prim when the inevitable happened: she fell in love with him.
But it was almost as if an unsaid agreement to take things slow stood between them, both of them knowing at some point they would be more than just friends, but Prim was growing increasingly impatient. She had often tried to hint that she wanted more, that she was ready to take it to the next level, but Fíli wasn’t budging. Maybe Prim wasn’t as conspicuous as she thought she was.
It was about time she started to make things a little more clear for him.
The music started up after she selected the song and she readied herself before the mic, willing courage from her three glasses of wine to grace her.
“I love myself
I want you to love me,”
The crowd erupted in cheers, realizing what she had selected.
“When I feel down
I want you above me
I search myself
I want you to find me
I forget myself
I want you to remind me,”
The look on Fíli’s face was priceless, full of surprise and curiosity and maybe even a hint of lust as he pushed his tongue in his bottom lip, so Prim continued, her eyes locked on his as she began to run her hands down her sides and over her breasts,
“I don’t want anybody else
When I think about you
I touch myself
Oh, I don’t want anybody else
Oh no, oh no, oh no,”
Encouragement from the crowd kept her going, but not as much as the expression on Fíli’s face did. Prim continued her seductive dance as she sang, carding her hands through her hair and down her neck to her chest, still managing to sing despite the huge grin on her face,
“I close my eyes
And see you before me
Think I would die
If you were to ignore me
A fool could see
Just how much I adore you
I’d get down on my knees
I’d do anything for you,”
When the song ended, Prim bowed to the standing ovation given to her by the entire bar. She hopped off the stage and walked back over to Fíli who was shaking his head in disbelief.
“Wow,” was all he managed to say, his eyebrows raised high on his forehead.
“I don’t think after that performance I should still shout the drinks,” she suggested.
“Um, no, that wasn’t the deal,” he corrected her, standing close enough she could see his pulse thumping in his neck. He stared at her like he was trying to figure out what she was up to, and also like he could kiss her. His eyes lingered on her lips as though he was about to consume them and Prim thought how she would sell her soul to have him do it.
Did he still not know how badly she wanted him?
With the adrenaline from her performance still coursing through her body, Prim was about to confess her feelings to Fíli. She wanted to tell him that the song was indeed dedicated to him, and that the lyrics applied to her when she thought about him, but was interrupted by Kili and Tauriel coming over to congratulate her.
“Prim you never cease to amaze me!” Kili said, gripping his hands on her shoulders from behind.
“I think you have every man in here worked up!” Tauriel added.
As appreciative as she was for their compliments, the only opinion she really cared about was Fíli’s.
“Yeah, you are incredible,” Fíli praised her, still regarding her peculiarly.
Her stomach flipped. He thought she was incredible, not just her karaoke skills.
“Oh, I had some inspiration,” Prim admitted, staring into Fíli’s eyes and willing him to figure out just how much she longed for him, but not able to say it with Kili and Tauriel standing beside them.
“Well, the drinks are on me!” she declared, walking over to the bar to complete her end of the bargain. Kili followed her, wanting to order food, or so he said. Kili had a tendency to get involved in things that weren’t necessarily his business, and whatever was happening between Fíli and Prim was no exception.
“I can’t help but feel like there were some underlying messages in your performance,” he inquired without looking at her.
“It was just a song, Kili,” she denied.
“Yeah, one about masturbating to thoughts of my brother!”
She looked at him fiercely. Was it so obvious to everyone but Fíli?
“See, you can’t even deny it!” he laughed.
“I’m not trying to deny anything,” she told him while peeling the label off of an empty beer bottle, beginning to get annoyed by his interrogation.
“Well, I bet he thinks of you whenever he touches himself,” Kili said point-blank, popping a chip in his mouth.
“Kili!” Prim said with alarm, smacking his shoulder. Although part of her did hope it was true.
Once Kili stopped laughing, Prim sighed and continued her thoughts out loud.
“It’s just so frustrating! I feel like I do everything but literally throw myself at him and nothing happens.” She placed money on the bar as the bartender handed her their drinks, “I just really care about him,” she admitted.
“I know you do. He knows you do- knows you love him even. He’s going to kill me for telling you but he does feel the same, he told me himself,” Kili explained.
Prim shot her head up to look at him, “You better not be joking right now, Kili,” being fully aware of the pranks he was capable of.
“I’m not, I swear!” he raised his hands in defence, and threw a quick look over his shoulder towards his brother before he continued, “He fancies you, he always has. That’s why he’s still single, and you are too, I reckon. You’re both just too stupid to do anything about it,”
“Oh, thanks for that,” Prim glared at him and took a chip from his plate, making Kili slide it closer to him protectively so she couldn’t steal any more of them.
“I’m not saying you’re stupid, Prim, but one of you needs to admit it or someone else is going to come along and ruin it. You see how women look at him,” he pointed out, and Prim’s heart sank at the thought.
Of course she saw how other women looked at him, and she couldn’t blame them. He was perfect.
Prim didn’t want anyone else and she hoped what Kili had said about Fíli’s feelings towards her were true. She grabbed the drinks and walked back to the table, her head reeling from the information.
Fíli beamed at her as she approached, his dimples revealing themselves beneath his facial hair, making her melt for him once again and forget the threat of anyone coming between them.
Fíli could hardly believe the act he’d just witnessed. He had run his hand over his face a few times to try and disguise his flush, beads of sweat appearing on his temples as he watched Prim’s risqué dance on stage, making him throb for her all over again.
He wondered if she truly felt what she’d sung in those lyrics, that she wanted him and only him, that she imagined him when she pleasured herself.
The thought alone drove him mad.
Her eyes had been locked on him the entire time she was up there, there was no disputing that.
Fíli enjoyed making her feel as frenzied and desperate as she made him, but it was getting increasingly difficult to keep resisting her. She knew how to play him as well.
And even though he really didn’t want to resist her anymore and simply give in to the yearning want, he knew he couldn’t. He shouldn’t.
Thorin and Kili were leading a special ops mission and although Fíli as a trainer was now exempt from having to deploy, he refused to sit at home while his uncle and brother went head first into danger.
He was going too.
Fíli had been deployed countless times since he was in his early twenties. He had seen battle and horrific things that people could never even begin to fathom. The thought of going to war again filled him with dread, but he needed to protect his family.
If he pursued things with Prim, he wouldn’t be able to stand being with her for such a short period of time and making her anxiously wait for him to get back. It would break both of them. It wouldn’t be fair to her, so they would just have to wait until this mission was over before they could give each other everything of themselves.
He watched her now as she leaned against the bar, talking and laughing with Tauriel, finding himself automatically mimicking every upturn of her mouth.
But her expression quickly changed when a man came up to her who was obviously a fan and hoping her words were directed at him. Prim politely shrugged him off, turning back to face Tauriel.
Fíli remained in his chair, carefully watching the interaction. He wouldn’t step in unless he needed to, and he prayed the idiot wouldn’t do anything stupid.
“That song was about me, wasn’t it doll,” the man slurred, stepping closer to her.
Prim laughed and said over her shoulder, “Don’t you wish,” and Fíli could tell the man was starting to get on her nerves.
It was difficult for Fíli to hear all that was being said, but the man seemed persistent in getting her attention. Prim said the odd thing to get him to leave her alone but tried her best to remain focused on Tauriel and ignore the pleas from the drunk.
Kili sat beside him and could see the fury rising up through his body. He patted Fíli on the back, “Easy brother,” he said, trying to assure him that she would be fine, knowing what damage Fíli could do to the other man if provoked.
It wasn’t until the man grabbed her ass and she flew around to punch him that Fíli stood from where he was seated and quickly made his way over. He knew Prim could hold her own, and judging by the way the guy was holding his bloody nose, she had done the job. Regardless, he needed to give this asshole a piece of his mind.
Fíli took hold of the man’s collar and held him upright after being folded over from Prim’s punch, his feet now barely touching the ground.
“Touch her or go near her again and you’ll regret ever laying eyes on her, mate,” Fíli spat in his face, his rage ready to erupt at any second.
The man nodded in a terrified manner, and scrambled away as soon as Fíli released him from his grip.
Fíli brushed his hair back out of his face and turned to Prim, who was shaking her hand out and looking slightly unsettled.
“Are you alright?” he asked, his anger now turned to worry, never wanting any harm to come to her.
“Yes, I’m fine. He’s just a prick.” She didn’t meet his eyes, her gaze cast down to observe the damage to her hand. Her knuckles were red and split from colliding with the man’s face and blood was beginning to creep up slowly.
Fíli took her hand in his and brushed his thumb lightly over her wounds before bringing his lips to kiss them gently.
The way she looked at him made his heart clench, almost like she was surprised at his affection towards her. He wanted to tell her he would do anything for her, would give her the world, and that it made him feel terrible that he allowed that guy to touch her like he did. But he couldn’t.
“I’m sorry, I should’ve stepped in sooner,” his voice full of regret at how he handled the situation.
“You have nothing to be sorry for, Fi, you’re my hero,” she said with a mischievous look in her eye, her fire back and immediately replacing his anger and regret with desire for her.
“I can usually handle my own, but I don’t mind you protecting me,” she said playfully.
Her eyes were filled with lust as she looked up at him through her eyelashes, and he was reminded once again of what he wanted to do to her.
Before he acted on pressing his lips against hers, Fíli called to the bartender for some ice for her hand, as well as a shot of whisky for them both.
They all managed to enjoy the rest of the night, no one harassing Prim other than with lustful glances from multiple men, but she didn’t seem to notice. She was having too much fun and a good buzz was keeping the pain in her hand at bay.
She stuck close to Fíli, often touching him playfully on his arm or chest, and even occasionally on his thigh. Her hand landed there now, causing him to stop talking mid-sentence to look at her delicate fingers resting on his jeans.
Fuck, she was going to be the death of him.
His jaw hurt from clenching his teeth so much, a habit to keep his increasing thirst for her at bay.
The bar announced the last call, and they all were quite drunk aside from Fíli. He typically managed to stay sober whenever they went out, wanting to ensure they all got home safely and didn’t have to pay and wait for cabs to take them all to different places.
With Kili and Tauriel dropped off at Tauriel’s place, Fíli was now on his way to take Prim to her own apartment. She was definitely drunk, but not sloppy, in more of her usual flirtatious state that had tried to lure him into her bed on more than one occasion. Tonight was no exception.
She laughed as she fumbled with her keys in the door, dropping them onto the mat. Fíli stooped to pick them up and when he straightened himself Prim was leaning playfully against her door frame.
“You want me and it’s killing you,” she boldly stated, revealing a part of him that he wasn’t ready to divulge to her yet.
He shook his head and chuckled while he unlocked the door, not wanting to have this conversation with her now.
She waltzed in ahead of him, her body language full of confidence from the drinks she had consumed.
“Do you want a nightcap?” Prim asked, trying her best to get him to stay.
“No, thanks. I’m going to head out so you can get some sleep.” He had to fight to get the words out, wanting so badly to stay.
Prim squinted her eyes at him, annoyed at being rejected.
“Are you ever going to give me what I want, Fíli?” she asked, her voice laced with bitterness.
He couldn’t help but grin, desperately wanting to tell her just how badly he wanted her. How he wanted the same things as her. How easy it would be for him to roughly pull her pants down and slide into her, fucking her until she screamed his name over and over.
Especially when she acted like this.
He took a step toward her so he was hovering slightly above her body, and he saw the fearlessness in her eyes change to a softness, like she would submit to him in a second if given the chance.
“The problem is, Prim,” he muttered, his eyes narrowing as he stared into her, “If I kiss you now, I won’t be able to stop.”
She faltered for only a moment before lifting her chin up in an act to reinstate her poise.
“Then don’t stop,” she challenged him.
It took every fibre in his being to pull away from her, not wanting to do anything while she was under the influence of alcohol.
“No,” he shook his head and laughed when she threw her head back and growled in frustration.
“Why?” she snapped, her distaste at being rejected clear.
He never wanted to make her feel this way. She had to know she was his greatest desire, his biggest temptation.
Fíli remained in place, not daring to go close to her again.
“Because I want you to be fully aware when I do the things that I have planned for you.”
He watched her shift, his words sinking in and probably helping to sober her up. It was a promise of things to come. A hint at his intentions to explore her body.
“Are you good?” Fíli asked in a normal tone, needing to change the subject and wanting to make sure she was okay before he left.
“I’ll be good when you’re putting your hands all over me,” she countered, her voice raspy and still persistent in trying to get her way with him.
He chuckled at her determination, making his way to the door despite her wishes. She was relentless.
“Goodnight, Prim,” he called over his shoulder, not able to look at her knowing if he did she would draw him back inside.
He sat in his truck for a moment before driving away, his thoughts solely on how much he wished to tell her he wanted to be with her.
Fíli toyed with the idea of establishing the relationship with Prim anyway, being selfish for once in his life and indulging in her for whatever amount of time he could before he left, but quickly decided against it.
He loved Prim. And he only wanted to love her in the way she deserved, and loving her and then leaving her was not it.
He smiled at how easy it was for her to tempt him into almost doing things that were so out of his character. But once he was back home he would give in to anything and everything she offered, because fuck did he want to.
Fíli knew without a doubt that they would end up together someday, so what was waiting a couple of more months in the grand scheme of things? As far as he was concerned they had all the time in the world.
But right now all Fíli could think about was how Prim was probably getting into bed and fantasizing about him while she extinguished her fire, her hands exploring her own body in search of a high that one day would include him. He palmed at the growing tension in his pants, knowing that he was going home to do exactly the same.

A Musical Social Experiment...Destiel.
Alright, so I thought to myself, while playing along with @thenightwemetnatural‘s Destiel song picks, that despite my musical tastes, and them tending typically (although not exclusively) towards the Metal genres, that EVERY song can in some way, be paralleled to Destiel. This is such a ridiculous experiment, and I apologize, but I’m at the cottage, and it’s fucking pouring with rain, so let’s play…
Here are the rules: take your Music library and throw it on Shuffle – every song that comes on for an hour(ish), connect it to Destiel...(below the cut for my results).
You can access the playlist here (if you have any interest in listening along!). I am not going to necessarily describe every possible connection - I think that a lot of them are SUPER obvious...like *eyes rolling out of my head* obvious...
In the End – Black Veil Brides – Well we’re off to a hell of a start, as this song from start to finish screams Destiel and sacrifice. In the end As my soul's laid to rest What is left of my body Or am I just a shell? And I have fought And with flesh and blood I commanded an army Through it all I have given my heart for a moment of glory Who will remember this last goodbye 'Cause it's the end and I'm not afraid I'm not afraid to die A Modern Way - The Exies – only on song 2, and it’s once again, really hard to cut out any of this song, as the repeating “I’m bound by my insecurities” SCREAMS Dean at me.
I’m Bound by my insecurities
Open your eyes and Throw your arms around me I need the right not to fight To breathe
Swallow the lies I'm the one to blame Having no voice left to choose Am i so blind, feeling justified When i'm alone and confused
Brother – NEEDTOBREATHE – I have to laugh…as I added this after watching Jensen sing this at a Con (for J*red), and no lie, I’m in LOVE with it, but it’s somehow now determinably connected to the brothers for me but I can/WILL draw the lines here…EASY.
Everybody needs someone beside em’ shining like a lighthouse from the sea Face down in the desert now there’s a cage locked around my heart I found a way to drop the keys where my failures were Now my hands can’t reach that far I ain’t made for a rivalry I could never take the world alone I know that in my weakness I am strong, but It’s your love that brings me home Summoners Rift – Dangerkids – Um. Well. The first line of this song just made me laugh out loud.
There's no room for martyrs in a dying scene Well I'm not quite dead I'm something in between
And if I had another chance I would tell you
I guess I'm not afraid of what comes after We are the only ones We stand alone in the dark
Question everything you blindly follow Truth's a bitter pill, it's hard to swallow You think you're winning but your time is borrowed We are the only ones We stand alone in the dark
Royal Beggars - Architects - I mean…the repetition of my sentiments is going to get a bit silly…so i will not. read on...
All hope is dead, but we're coping
Somebody save our souls
Like a bird in a cage, trying to fly away Is this the price that we have to pay? Overflowing with rage, yet we still obey 'Cause we're asleep in a hurricane
We sit on a throne, waiting for God to bend the knee But we're nothing more than royal beggars
Edge of your Bed - Thousand Below - “why’d you have to go and keep calling out my name” Calling out my name” pure purgatory “where’s the ANGEL” “I prayed to you Cas, Every night” The rest of the next verse is also poignant, very Dean again “where I can only feel peace when the wave hits”, “and I’ve become what I thought was wrong, I love the feeling when it feels too strong”.
Why'd you have to go and keep calling out my name? Calling out my name
I found sorrow at the edge of your bed
Is it now a bad habit? Where I can only feel peace when the wave hits And I've become what I thought was wrong I love the feeling when it feels too strong
Animals – Siamese - “It takes a killer that thinks he’s a saint, it takes believing to be this insane” – well. yes. ok.
Shattered not broken We stand our feet Houses rebuild on These bloody streets I fill my lungs into this beat With closed eyes we're hoping for remedy
It takes a killer That thinks he's a saint It takes believing To be this insane
Spineless Crow - Hands Like Houses
We were young together but I've grown ancient Cracked and weathered and filled with regret Waiting to sink, rushing to sink in my sleep
The realization sinks in through the skin Like a disease, a blight inside of me Missing your touch, your weight on my fingers
My Underworld - Tonight Alive
Now we sail into deep blue storm clouds Overhead now, strangely I feel at peace as I dive into My underworld, world I dive into my underworld, world Down in these depths I'm adding up the numbers Of all I've suffered in past lives, tied down in the darkness Finally I begin to learn what I've returned tonight Time has come to begin again, leave something else behind
Ever After - Marianas Trench - All this talk of being someone’s disaster – Welp! Hello!
Don't you move Can't you stay where you are, just for now I could be your perfect disaster You could be my ever after
Apologies, I'm not myself but I can guarantee That when I get back, you won't believe That you knew me well Don't want to think about it
I'm fuckin' tired of getting sick about it Now stand back up and be a man about it And fight for something, fight for something, fight for something Nobody told ya this is gonna fold ya We go marching in like toy soldiers To have and hold ya over sold ya They’re marching like toy soldiers I'll be your disaster, ever after So fire away Goodbye
Room 138 - Asking Alexandria - While this song is clearly actually about an overdose of some kind, it’s parallels shockingly well to the post confession scene.   So these are the walls that have to hold this moment Somebody hear me, someone open up the door Get me up off of this floor and stop the shaking, the shaking Through the haze I saw a face A second chance, another life to live How did you forgive me? Held my head against your chest Told me everything's alright, don't be afraid Close your eyes and rest
Witness – Daughtry
Does it feel like you're just wasting time Here without a reason or a rhyme The answer you've been looking for Is standing right before your weary eyes And if the weight of the world is on you now But you know you can turn it all around again How Many Walls - Rise Against  - Guys, seriously, I’m not even going there...How many years have we wasted….how many walls can you put up? How many guns til you feel safe? This is a song about war – this is Rise Against, this is purely political and somehow can STILL be pulled together with Destiel.
How many walls can you put up?
How many guns 'til you feel safe? How many times can we watch this story Over and over and over again? And how many years have we wasted Counting the lies that we've been fed? For something to change we have waited Over and over and over again Pray – Picturesque - Nope. Don’t even need a description here. Once again this is FAR TOO OBVIOUS!
I should pray a little more and think a little less The devils in my head and he won't let me rest Everyday just like the last since you up and left I should pray a little more, I shouldn't pray for death I Knew You Were Trouble – We Came as Romans (Swift Cover) - SwiftNatural is a thing for a reason…
It's like a kaleidoscope of memories. It just all comes back. But he never does. I knew his world moved too fast and burned too bright. But I just thought, how can the devil be pulling you toward someone who looks so much like an angel
I think that the worst part of it all wasn't losing him. It was losing me. Once upon a time, a few mistakes ago I was in your sights, you got me alone You found me
I knew you were trouble when you walked in (you were right there, you were right there) So shame on me now Flew me to places I'd never been Now I'm lying on the cold hard ground Texas Is Forever - Pierce the Veil – lack of communication anyone? I don’t know, do we know anyone like that? If anything should happen to me I want you to know, I’ve loved you since ever…
Here we are If anything should happen to me I want you to know I've loved you since ever since then Don't dance around me I know what it means No communication, cannot be received But I'm such a sucker for the rain, yeah Oh, here we are Butterfly - Wearing Scars – the Butterfly/Angel parallel alone…go with it.
Seems we're alone We're fixated Just waiting for something As time goes by And when we're way up high We'll look back down with different eyes Let's take our time Awake this life So spread your wings And take my hand Tonight will be the end
With Grace - The Weight of Atlas
This place looks like hell to me I cast myself into the sea Picked up my conscience and left my disease I don't know, I don't know if I can make it through this storm Keep your eyes shut it will be okay. Will we make it out alive? Will we make it out alive. When all you have is hope I will be your anchor I know that I can let you down But I swear I'll pick up the pieces. And be reborn again I Always Wanted to Leave - The Plot In You
I guess it's a shame I'm so damn destructive And you're so reluctant to mean what you say The way you act so abused The things you confuse You know I always wanted to leave "Hello... You can sing, I'm here And I love you more than anyone or anything With all my heart."
Unsteady - X Ambassadors – just a stay parallel. Don’t leave, don’t let go. If you love me. Don’t let go. #I haz the sads.
Hold on to me 'Cause I'm a little unsteady If you love me Don't let go Bury Me Alive - Normandie – pick a line – ANY LINE!!!
I guess I'm not going to heaven now I got caught in the chase Now I'm falling from grace But I never stood a chance Could've given me a sign I'd be giving you blind obedience Mantra – Bring Me The Horizon Before the truth will set you free, it will piss you off Before you find a place to be, you're gonna lose the plot Too late to tell you now, one ear and right out the other one 'Cause all you ever do is chant the same old mantra Could I have your attention, please? It's time to tap into your tragedy Think you could use a new abuser Close your eyes and listen carefully Imagine you're stood on a beach Water gently lapping at your feet And now you're sinking, what were you thinking? That's all the time we have this week
Oh Lord - In This Moment – cutting any of this out was actually hard. Cas, my love, are you there?
Oh Lord won't you save me Save me from my soul Oh Lord won't you forgive me For I have lost control Oh Lord won't you tell me Am I the righteous or the damned? Oh Lord won't you please hear me Do I obey or do I command? Oh Lord please forgive me For what I'm about to do Oh Lord won't you believe me I'll burn in hell for you Oh Lord won't you teach me Teach me how to see Oh Lord tell me you love me Am I Lillith or am I Eve?
Bleeding is a Luxury - Atreyu
I’ve talked the talk, I've walked the walk, It's taken ten fucking years, For them to see I don't need their approval. I've paid the piper, I've stayed my course, Lived chomping at the bit. With only blood, sweat, and tears to adhere to- Take it for granted, Forsake the costs, Wear a big, shit-eating grin (with only blood, sweat, and tears to adhere to) Now bear the burden to chase your fate Grind your teeth 'til it fucking hurts So they can see I don't need their approval. Seize the day, Take your beatings, Lead the way, Or decay as you fall down... You fall down.
Would you Still be There - Of Mice & Men – wow, this song in full. All of it. I can’t.
If I could find the words, if I could shake the world, If I could turn back time would you still be there? I can't stop thinking about the way I left you sinking with no escape. Now there's no lifeline, no way to save. But maybe next time I won't throw it all away. Dislocated, I lie awake Suffocating in my mistakes. I lost my halo when I fell from grace, But maybe next time I won't throw it all away. I ask myself everyday... If I could find the words, if I could shake the world, If I could turn back time would you still be there? If I could find the words to say, If I could shake the world to break you down, Then would you still be there?
The Broken - 3 Doors Down
This is the call to the broken, the broken Take it from me. They don't care if you're lonely. As you can see, They don't care if you're scared. Your heart Is the only friend you have in this whole world. Don't start, Think you can do this yourself. I know what you're thinking. You say you're tired of keeping score, keeping score. Trust me, You're not the only one going through this. You see, I've been through this before, this before.
Wow, I Hate This Song - The Used – this one took a little imagination – hardest one so far – because it really is just about hating a song! So we’re HC’ing the Zepp track that reminds Dean most of Cas, post Empty.
Every time I hear the key I see you in the melody It never was a part of me Heart feels like it's being stabbed Kills me emotionally Dirty Little Secret - Bullet For My Valentine – let’s take this back to – take your pick…Leviathan!Cas, Godstiel, Casifer, any of the times that Cas did the wrong thing for the right reasons…and did not tell his boy.
There once was a time Where everything was just so perfect Now everything has changed And you've become a total stranger I've seen another side to you I never even knew existed Dirty little secrets, dirty little secrets Giving in to your primal instincts There once was a time When anything I do is for you But everything has changed And I've become a lonely prisoner I'd kill, even die for you You never even tried resisting
Kill Plan - Parabelle
I'm sitting stunned just like a lesson I never learned Made of emotions and mistakes And what you say Leaves me lost and in the way And that's the place you stay Remember silence Now we're painted into corners So we can watch the world get sold out Hold me closer don't let the sun in Hold me closer don't let the sun in Cuz the setting sun feels like a cage Don't let me defend the kill plan
Roman Sky – Avenged Sevenfold – This song only has a few lyrics, but we can definitely make them work.
As the embers rose through the Roman Sky Tell me, were you calm when they took your life? Just before you go, tell us how the heavens flow Weightless evermore, as you walk beyond that door Shine forever true To Those Left Behind – blessthefall – these boys might be my favourite band ever, but these are ANGRY lyrics – these are about betrayal.  This is a relationship gone wrong. I feel these best work with the divorce arc, the Angry Dean that we see, or Dean’s mood after any of the “Cas fucked up again” moments. You found me at my worst When I was far too weak to grow In spite of all my fears And how I may have lost my way Only now I know the truth
Awake and coming clean
If you can't sleep It's your conscience That's eating away At the mess you made So let's end this Sew this last stitch Lift this weight off my chest I'll put you to rest The past should stay dead
How did we find ourselves here? Haunted by our own design With everything that's come to pass Makes it harder to confine

Welcome to the Loser’s Club, Asshole! - Ch.1 | T W O
Warnings: swearing, a very mild sexual innuendo - everything you’d expect with Richie
Word Count: 3,740
Pairing: Richie Tozier x Reader, Platonic!Stan Uris x Reader
A/N - second chapter of my first series! i’m really liking the way this is turning out, considering i’ve never written a rewrite of a pre-existing movie/book! i’ve not planned what each chapter is going to contain, so i’m praying this works out in the long run. if you haven’t noticed, i don’t particularly have a schedule for publishing these chapters, but i am just trying to get them all out as soon as possible so it can be more of a binge read than having to wait :/
If you wish to be added to the taglist, send in an ask or pop it in the comments! :)
Welcome to the Loser’s Club Asshole Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Take everything but the Delicious Deals, guys. My mom loves ‘em” Eddie instructed as Richie swung the kitchen cabinet doors open with full force, taking out whatever food he could find. “Hey! First you said the Barrens and now you’re saying the sewer. I mean, what if we get caught?”
Eddies seemed hesitant, his words coming out in whispers towards the end of his sentence. Eddie was rather obedient when it came to authority; he didn’t like standing up to people he thought were right. But Bill had insisted the sewers were the perfect place to search for the missing 7 year old, so he tried his best to convince Eddie; “We won’t Eds, the sewers are p-p-public works. We’re the public, aren’t we?”
“Hey, Eddie, these your birth control pills?” Richie pitched in, pointing to the bottles of pills which filled a whole cabinet; he smirked at the joke, proud like he always was.
“Yeah, and I’m saving it for your sister. This is private stuff” Eddie retorted, Bill sniggering in the background. The boys went to leave the house, and head to the Barrens, before being stopped in their tracks by Eddie’s mother.
“Eddie bear, where you boys off to in such a rush?” She spoke, in such a sickeningly sweet tone; anyone could tell she was disguising ill intentions. Sonia Kaspbrak was the kind of mother who was very protective over her child; Eddie could never go anywhere without some kind of interrogation. That’s just the way it was in the Kaspbrak house. They boys stood silent for what felt like minutes, but thankfully was only a few seconds, trying to piece together an excuse. There was no way they could tell her they were going to the Sewers, she’d have gone berserk.
“Um… j-j-just my backyard Mrs K” Bill stuttered out, thinking up something on the spot, “I got a new-“
“A new croquet set. Jeez, spit it out b-b-b-Bill” Richie chimed in when Bill was unable to finish his sentence; Bill wasn’t always the best at lying to peoples face, but that was practically Richie’s talent.
“Okay” Sonia wasn’t sure if she believed them or not, specifically whether she believed Richie or not, but she accepted it anyway because surely her son wouldn’t lie to her. “Oh, and sweetie, don’t go rolling around on the grass. Especially if it’s just been cut. You know how bad your allergies can get”
“Yes Mom – let’s go” Eddie practically whispered, wanting to leave as soon as possible; he didn’t exactly like his mother like most children should. It was a complicated relationship.
“Aren’t you forgetting something?”
Eddie knew exactly what his mother meant by this, and so huffed loudly while approaching the woman who was slumped down in her armchair, planting a small kiss on her cheek. He knew he was going to be the pit of Richie’s jokes for the next hour or so, especially considering Richie was now sniggering rather loudly from the hallway.
“Do you want one from me too Mrs K?” Richie chuckled, but before he could even look in Sonia’s direction, Eddie was shoving him out the door chanting “No, no, no”. Thankfully, Richie was out the door in seconds, so Eddie quickly apologised and shut the door behind him.
***
“Mom, are you in here?” Y/N shouted as she walked into the backyard shed, hoping to find her mother in there considering she was nowhere else to be found. With the house all furnished and looking like a real home now, Y/N was starting to feel a lot more settled in and like Derry was where she had lived her whole life. Her mother had even agreed to let Y/N turn the backyard shed into a birdwatching hut that she and Stanley could spend their time birdwatching in; it thankfully had a window at the back which looked straight into the forestry behind the house, so all it would need was a little makeover and it would be perfect.
“Just here, love. What do you need?” she shouted back, watching Y/N’s face light up as she entered. Y/N’s mother had spent the last hour or two painting the walls of the shed green so that no bird would be afraid to fly near it. It wasn’t the way she wanted to spend her first day in Derry, but when she heard how excited Y/N was when she got home and exclaimed she had made her first friend and that they had bonded over birdwatching, she was more than happy to help her daughter make friends.
“Can I spend the day with Stan and his other friends?” Y/N questioned, a spring in her step at the idea of spending the day with her newly found friends; though she had realised she only actually knew Stan’s name. She just referred to the other 3 as ‘the short one’, ‘the one with the stutter’ and ‘the cute one’. She wasn’t really sure why, but she really hoped that the cute one would be there when she met up with them. There was something about him that made her want to get to know him.
“Of course love, but be home by 5 at the latest” she answered, pressing a kiss to her daughter’s cheek and sending her on her way. Y/N rushed out to the front of her house, waiting patiently for Stan and the rest to arrive after agreeing on the phone the night before that he would meet her at her house. Only after a few minutes of waiting around, she heard the skidding of bike wheels against the tarmac road before looking up to see the boy with the stutter slamming down his brakes.
“H-h-hey” he smiled, looking your way and then behind him to see the three other boys speeding down the road at a speed nowhere near as fast as he’d been going. Y/N giggled at the sight of the boy’s faces of annoyance.
“Slow down Bill, we can’t keep up!” Stan yelled, slowing down once he got in front of you.
“Don’t blame me, blame Silver!”
“Yeah Stan, it’s not Bills fault he finishes fast” the boy with glasses shouted as he too pulled up, shortly followed by the short one. Y/N let out a small snigger at the boys joke, and he looked to her with a smirk on his face, while the others looked at her like she had just committed a crime. Not many people laughed at his jokes, and when they did it was usually out of pity, so it was nice for him to receive some admiration. “I don’t think I ever properly introduced myself; Richie Toziers the name, and doing voices is my game”
The boys all rolled their eyes at Richie’s poor attempt of a British accent, but Y/N chuckled rather loudly at his introduction. She liked his humour, it was unlike any she’d heard before, but that was in a good way; it was funnier than she’d heard before. She shook his hand, but instead he went to kiss it gently as if she were a princess.
“A-and I’m Eddie.” The small one chimed in from the background, a wide grin on his face as he looked at her. She smiled back, sending a small wave over to the boy who instantly sent one back, blushing a little. Eddie seemed quite shy, she realised, but that wasn’t to say that was a bad thing; she’d just have to let him warm up her a little.
“It’s lovely to meet you Eddie. And you’re Bill” she grinned; looking towards the boy she’d heard the name of a few times already. He nodded, smiling back. Bill always loved making new friends; in fact all the boys did, so she was more than welcome to join the Loser’s club. “I’m Y/N L/N; I moved to Derry a few days ago.”
“A-are we ready to go?” Stan urged, finding it a little awkward that he had just been standing here for the past 5 minutes while the other 3 boys practically drooled over Y/N; he understood, she was pretty, very pretty indeed, but at least he was able to control himself. He did find it rather amusing how hung Richie was; he would normally have been spurring out vulgar comments and pickup lines by this point, but he hadn’t said a crude joke at all, well not to Y/N. The thing was, he didn’t want to scare her away; Richie had a tendency of being too loud and vulgar most of the times, and this tended to earn him eye rolls and scoffs instead of laughs. His jokes were purely his humour, and most people didn’t have the same humour as Richie.
“Bill decided the Sewers would be better to look” Eddie mentioned, considering both Stan and Y/N hadn’t been there that morning to hear the conversation. Stan was fine with it, he didn’t really want to be searching for Georgie in the first place and either way they were splashing around in shitty water. Y/N, however, responded with a look of disappointment and… worry?
“Is that okay, Y/N?” Richie asked rather quickly once he noticed the look on her face; admittedly it was a little embarrassing for him but he didn’t want Y/N to feel uncomfortable- seriously, what was happening to Richie?
“O-oh, yeah it’s fine. I just, I wouldn’t have worn once of my nice dresses if I knew we were going to the sewers…” she muttered, playing with the hem of the skirt adorned on her body. She wanted to impress the boys, specifically Richie, so she wore one of her cuter dresses that she thought made her look nice. Why was she trying to impress the boys?
“You could go ch-ch-change if you want, we have all day” Bill offered, but she could tell his face was desperate to get going and searching for whatever it was they were looking for.
“No, that’s okay.” She grinned, not wanting to hold the boys up. They all mounted their bikes, while Y/N stood awkwardly, until they noticed she didn’t have her own bike. She had never been much of a bike rider in her childhood, so she never saw the need to waste her pocket money on one.
“You can ride on the back of mine, if you want?” Richie offered, cheeks blushing as he noticed the boys were sniggering; it wasn’t loud enough for Y/N to hear, but Richie had. He couldn’t comprehend why this girl made him feel so nervous, when usually he was what he liked to a ladies man. After watching the boys mock him, he tried his best to make them shut up by adding a Richie quirk to his question; “That is, if you can manage to keep your hands to yourself, sweetcheeks”
“I think I’ll manage that just fine, thank you” she smirked back, climbing onto the back of the bike and wrapping her arms around the boy’s waist, watching as the other boys laughed at Richie’s expense. She felt him clench slightly as she touched him, but she thought nothing of it; however, she had begun to feel a little guilty for what she said. As Richie and the others started cycling to the destination, Y/N felt it needed to apologise; “I’m sorry if that was rude”
“It’s all good, sweetcheeks. Maybe you could make it up to me later” he quirked up, his confidence suddenly skyrocketing when she giggled softly into the crook of his neck. He was glad she found his jokes funny; it meant he wouldn’t have to hold back from being himself to impress her, even if he didn’t know why he wanted to. Probably just because she’s knew to the group, he thought to himself, yeah that’s why.
“Oh yeah, and what would that entail?”
“Well, you’d come around to my house, because my parents won’t be in. I’ll take you up to my room and-“
“Beep beep Richie” Stan shouted from his bike in front, stopping Richie from finishing the awful sentence considering he knew Richie would happily have gone into full detail of their sexual escapades, and Stan didn’t want to hear that. Thankfully for the rest of the ride, the group were silent, and it only really took them 5 minutes to arrive at the sewer entrance.
***
“That’s poison ivy, and that’s poison ivy. And that’s poison ivy” Stan stated, pointing at almost every plant and tree they passed walking down the riverbank.
“Where? Where’s the poison ivy?” Eddie hesitated, being the germaphobe he was. He searched every plant, inspecting them to ensure he was in no danger. There was no way Eddie was going to let himself get a rash from poison ivy; he could probably catch one just from standing near it.
“Nowhere, not every fucking plant is poison ivy Stanley!” Richie complained, rolling his eyes in the direction of the two boys who he knew were panicking over nothing. Stanley looked over to Y/N for some backup, and after inspecting the bigger plant closely, she easily confirmed it was, in fact, not poison ivy. One thing Stanley had learned about Y/N so far was that along with birdwatching, she was an avid nature lover; she could name a plant just by its leaf or a butterfly just by its wing.
“Okay, well I’m starting to get itchy now and I’m pretty sure this is not good for my-“ Eddie started complaining, before Richie cut in again; “Do you use the same bathroom as your mother?”
“Sometimes, yeah”
“Then you probably have crabs” Richie retorted, stepping further into the sewage pipe with Bill far in front of him. Y/N had followed suit, forgetting all about the dress debacle she encountered earlier; she’d have never got to do something like this back in her hometown, she wanted to seize the moment.
“That’s so not funny”
“Aren’t you guys coming in?” Richie turned around and asked, seeing Stan and Eddie still lurching at the entrance of the sewer. They were hesitant, extremely hesitant, to go any further than they already were.
“Uh-uh, it’s greywater” Eddie shook his head, gulping in disgust from even the sight of what Bill, Richie and Y/N were treading through.
“What’s greywater?” Y/N questioned from next to Bill, looking worried that this may have been a mistake after all. And Eddie’s answer proved her correct.
“It’s basically piss and shit, so I’m just telling you; you guys are splashing around in millions of gallons of Derry pee. So…” Eddie pointed out, and watched as your face contorted into one similar to his; disgust. Richie on the other hand, had waded the end of his stick in the sewer water and lifted it up to his nose to sniff; “Are you serious? What are you—“
“Doesn’t smell like caca to me, senor” Richie retorted in a poor Spanish accent, if you could even call it that.
“Okay, I can smell it from here”
“It’s probably just your breath wafting back into your face.” Richie responded, making Eddie huff in annoyance.
Eddie took a deep inhale, trying his hardest not to freak out at Richie’s utter stupidity; not being very successful in his attempts. “Have you ever heard of a staph infection?”
“Oh, I’ll show you a staph infection” the boy in glasses retorted quickly, still messing around in the water with the stick he was holding. Eddie was not giving up on shaming Richie at all; “This is so unsanitary. You’re literally; this is literally like swimming inside of a toilet bowl right now. I mean, have you ever heard of Listeria?”
Richie chucks an old plastic bag on the end of his stick which had been floating in the shitty water towards the smaller boy, eliciting a loud scream and a very harsh response: “A-Are you retarded, you’re the reason why we’re in this position right now-“
“Guys!” Bill shouted over, interrupting the smaller boy and earning the attention of all 4. When they all looks over, they saw Bill holding up a shoe; Richie, Stan and Eddie were able to understand exactly what this may have meant, but Y/N was no clearer.
“What, what is that?” Y/N questioned, searching the boys faces for answers; Eddie looked disgusted that Bill was holding it with his bare hands, Richie looked sad as he readjusted his glasses, and Stan looked scared. But none of them were answering her question, and it was getting on her nerves.
“Shit. Don’t tell me that’s…” Stan trailed off, not wanting to say the name, but Bill caught on quickly.
“No, G-Georgie wore galoshes.” Bill spoke sadly, thankful it hadn’t been his brother’s shoe. Y/N was still searching for some answers, and when no one spoke for a second or two, she took the opportunity to try and find some; for all she knew, ‘Georgie’ had simply lost his shoes recently while playing in the sewers, and Bill was trying to find them. That was the only reasonable explanation.
“Okay, guys, can someone please explain what’s going on? What exactly are we looking for down here, and who’s Georgie?” She asked, trying not to show her slight anger at being ignored, but her tone implied very obviously that she was impatient for an answer. However, the boys were left speechless; none of them wanted to tell Y/N about Georgie in case Bill wasn’t ready for her to know, but they knew Bill would struggle to talk openly about it. He hadn’t even been able to admit verbally that the boy was obviously dead.
“G-g-g-Georgie wa-is, is my brother. H-he went missing a few months ago, but I know he’s down here somewhere.” Bill answered quietly, watching as the girls face dropped from anger to sadness within a second of hearing the word missing spill from the boy’s mouth. Oh, she thought, that’s why we’re down here. We’re searching for Bill’s missing brother. Dead brother – there was no way he could’ve survived down here for months. As she looked at Stan’s face, she could tell they knew Georgie was dead too, but she couldn’t say that to Bill.
“I-I’m so sorry Bill, I, I didn’t know. We’ll try our best to find him, okay” she assured, making her way over to put a comforting hand on his shoulder. He nodded slightly, sending her a sad but grateful smile. The tension was as awkward as it could’ve been, until Eddie brought the attention back to the shoe.
“Whose sneaker is it?” Richie and Y/N both leant over to inspect the inside of the shoe that Bill was shining his torch light on. It read very clearly, written in a black marker, B.RIPSOM. Y/N’s mind was cast back to the school day, where she heard another girl murmuring about someone named Betty Ripsom who had gone missing weeks before; they talked about it as if it was normal, something that didn’t even matter. At the time, she thought it was just a myth or a story she had made up, but now Y/N understood it was real. She peeked to watch Richie’s breath hitch in his throat before announcing to Stan and Eddie; “It’s Betty Ripsom’s”
“Oh, shit. Oh, God. Oh, fuck! I don’t like this” Eddie swore, feeling himself beginning to panic.
“How do you think Betty feels? Running around these tunnels with only one frickin’ shoe” Richie joked, hopping to mimic the action described. Y/N slapped his arm harshly, sending him a look which clearly said that’s not funny, dude. When he noticed he was in fact the only one laughing at the joke, his face dropped immediately.
“What if she’s still here?” Stan proposed the idea, watching as the 4 considered the suggestion. After a second, Bill and Richie carried on down the tunnel, flashlight in hand. Y/N was much more hesitant now, not wanting to go any further in the case of ending up like Betty. Or Georgie.
“Y/N, Eddie, come on!” Richie shouted without even looking back.
“My mom will have an aneurysm, okay, if she finds out we’re playing down here, I’m serious. Bill?” Eddie complained, waiting for some voice of reason for Bill considering he usually had the good ideas. Although, Eddie was beginning to think that today, he didn’t have the good ideas.
“If…If I was Betty Ripsom, I would want us to find me. G-g-georgie too.” Bill answered back, trying to convince the other boys and girl that this was important for him, and Betty and Georgie. He wasn’t doing this for fun, or to splash around and play, he wanted to find these people and restore them justice. And to prove that Georgie was alive.
“What if I don’t want to find them?” Eddie spoke up, earning the attention of the others. Y/N was rather shocked, but she agreed; she hated to say it but finding them would most likely end up with them going missing, and she didn’t want that. “I mean, no offense, Bill, but I don’t want to end up like G… I don’t want to go missing either”
“He has a point” Both Y/N and Stan spoke at the same time.
“Y-y-you too?” Bill stuttered out, and she could tell his heart was breaking at their words.
“It’s summer. We’re supposed to be having fun. This isn’t fun. This is scary and disgusting” Stan complained, his voice cracking on almost every word. Before anyone could say anything more, the sound of a splash behind them caught the attention of all 5, turning to see the source of the commotion. Y/N was out the sewer in an instant, stopping by Eddie and Stan’s sides to try and catch a glimpse of what may have been making such a large splash.
Their eyes landed on a boy, around their age, thrashing around in the water. He had attempted to stand up, before falling again.
“Holy shit, what happened to you?” Richie shouted, and it was at that point Y/N realised what was wrong. The boy turned his head to face the crowd, and Y/N saw he was bleeding from his nose and stomach. Y/N sprinted over to the boy, Stan and Eddie following suit, to help him up. He had some serious injuries, and she could not figure out how we had a ‘H’ carved into his stomach. That was, however, when it clicked in her head.

“Peter! You okay bro?” Ned asked grabbing my elbow to pull me up to my feet.
“I don’t know dude. I think I stepped on something sharp in Drama.” I said as Ned helped me sit down with my back against the lockers.
“Wait, how? You never took your shoes off.” Ned said still towering over me giving me a concerned look.
“I don’t know dude, I just felt a really sharp pain when I took a step.” I said as I watched Ned’s eyes widened as if a light bulb just went off in his head. “What's with the face?” I asked.
“I think I know what happening.” Ned said as he lowered and balanced himself on the balls of his feet untying my right shoe, taking off the sock and it looked like something was being burned into my skin. I gasped when I realized what it was I was looking at. It was a red and blue ink stage light on the top of my foot. “Dude, looks like you found your mark.” Ned said smirking at me.
“I guess I did.” I said with a small smile appearing on my face as I started wracking my brain as to who this mark could belong to.
*** Your POV ***
I finished my daily after school routine and my homework and went to the roof to continue my drawing of the New York skyline I try to work on in my spare time for MJ’s birthday present. When I heard someone grunt behind me that sounded like someone just landed a jump I put my pencil down and turned around to see myself face to face with a person I never thought I’d EVER meet (and who I'd never wanted to meet, EVER.) “Spider-Man? What the fuck are you doing here?” I asked trying to fight the urge to roll my eyes as I turned back to my sketchbook and the skyline in front of the different oranges, yellows, and pink hues from setting sun.
“I saw you up here and I wanted to make sure you were okay.” He said taking a few steps closer to me.
“Well I'm fine. Thanks for uncalled for check up.” I said with my eyes trained on the shape of a certain building in the distance.
“Are you sure? Usually people come up to the roof to-”
“To what? jump?” I said interrupting him with annoyance laced in my voice, not sparing him a second glance.
“Well....yeah.” He said not taking a other step. ‘He’s probably afraid I’m going to bite his head off.’ you thought. (Oh he was. you TERRIFIED him.)
“Well like I said I’m fine.” I said harshly. "I'm not going to off myself, anytime soon." I heard nothing but silence for a while. So I turned my head to see if he was still there, silently praying he was gone. But of course I wasn't that lucky cause there he was standing there dumbfounded until I shook him back into reality by saying, “you can go now.” Before once again turning my attention back to my lap. I heard him say a quick and quiet sorry that was followed by his web shooters firing and he was gone, finally.
***
“No way! That’s so fucking awesome!” MJ cried through the speaker of the phone as I was laying on my bed looking up at the posters of different shows I’ve been in over the years plastered over the ceiling.
“I don’t understand how it was awesome.” I said rolling my eyes even though I knew she wouldn’t see me do so.
“Don’t roll your eyes. And it’s awesome because, you met Spider-Man! I bet if you told people at school you’d be like the most popular girl in school!”
“Yeah right.” I snorted. “What makes you think I’d want any attention on me?”
“Says the star of Heathers: The Musical.” She chuckled.
“Shut up. I didn’t even want that part. I still don’t get why she chose me.”
“Because you’re insanely talented!” MJ gushed. “And plus, you and Parker are freakishly adorable with each other.”
“Ohmigod, Shut up. We do not!” I said as I placed my arm over my eyes and tried to hide my pink cheeks out of habit.
“But anyways back to Spider-Man. Why don’t you like him again?”
“Because, kids see him swinging around and think they can do it too.” I said flipping onto my stomach before I heard MJ scoff. “What?”
“I didn’t say anything girl.” MJ said through a chuckle.
“Also, why does he wear a mask? We know who all the other Avengers are. What’s he got to hide?”
“Maybe it to protect himself from people who slander him like you and your step dad.”
“Hey my step dad has nothing to do with why I don’t like Spider-Man.”
“Oh yeah sure. No no no no. You’re right, why would J. Jonah Jamerson, the editor of the daily bugle, the most Notorious Spider-man hater have anything to do with your hatred of Spider-Man?”
“MJ.” I sighed, “Shut up and go to bed.”
“Yeah yeah. Night loser.”
“Night.” I said before hanging up.
After finishing my nightly routine I was now chilling on my bed with a face mask and my nose in my favorite book “A Little Princess” when I heard something outside of my window. I ignored it thinking it was just my upstairs neighbor's cat jumping down from his owner's level again. It wasn’t until I heard the noise a second time did I decide to see what was going on. When I reached my window, I hesitantly unlocked, slid the window up and stuck my head out to see nothing. I bring my head back into my room about to close my window when two red covered feet land in front of me. I looked up and saw for the second time today, Spider-Man. I groaned and rolled my eyes as I walked away form my window.
“Oh. My. God. Again? What do you want now?”
“I-I just..”
“Just what? Why can’t you leave me alone?” I interrupted him.
“You don’t like me all that much do you?” He asked.
“Obviously I don’t. Now was that all?” I asked sitting back on my bed crossing my legs at my ankles displaying my red and blue spider mark.
“Whoa! Is that your mark!? That’s sick!” He exclaimed pointing to me foot.
“It's non of you're business, now leave! Bye.” I said getting off my to start pushing his chest and head out of my window, closing it then leaving my room to wash my face mask off for the night.
***
“He saw your mark!?” MJ said with her book opened in her hand.
“Yes. Now that irritating insect knows even more about me then I want him to.” I said as I slammed my locker shut in an irritated rage.
"Hey, maybe he's your soulmate."
“Shut up, I’m seriously praying that he’s not my soulmate, because that would be disastrous.”
“Why though?”
“Because I’d be i-“ I was interrupted by feeling my face collide with something both soft and hard at the same time. I hear MJ laughing in the distance as I looked up and were met with the most amazing honey colored eyes. "Peter? I'm so sorry!"
*** Peter’s POV***
“It’s okay Y/N.” I said looking down into her beautiful Y/E/C eyes.
“Are you sure Peter?” She asked looking up at me with her doe like eyes. “Oh fuck. I’m so sorry. I got make up on your shirt.” She started trying to brush the pale oval of her make up off my blue Midtown shirt covered chest.
“Y/N! Y/N! Y/N! Y/N!” I said grabbing her wrists, causing her to look up at me. “I said it’s fine you don’t have to worry about it, I’m sure May can get it off.”
“May?”
“My aunt. Now please, stop worrying about it.” I said smiling down at her.
“Are y-”
“Yes I’m sure.” I chuckled, “now come on.” I said putting my arm around her shoulders, “let’s get to Drama.”
“Um okay.” she said after sneaking a peek over to MJ, who gave her a thumbs up. “What about Ned though?” You asked slightly nodding over to Ned.
“Oh I’m good, I’m fine. I have to get to class anyway. Go with Peter Y/N.” Ned said smiling at the beautiful girl under my arm and sending a wink my way, causing me and maybe her, (but mostly me) to blush.
***Time Skip***
“So.” Ned started as we walked to the cafeteria.
“’So’ what?”
“So what was up with earlier? Y’know, With Y/N?” Ned asked with a large smirk on his face.
“Nothing dude. I was-” I took a deep breath in, trying thinking of a good excuse. “I was getting into character.” I dryly swallowed and tried to hide my glowing red cheeks from my best friend.
“Bull. Shit!” He loudly said chuckling at the thought of me being ANYTHING like JD. “That is total bull shit! And you know it!”
“No it’s not! I swear I don’t like her like that!”
“And why’s that?”
“Because dude.”
“Because why?” He asked, and knowing Ned he’s going to keep pestering until I give in and tell him.
I took a deep breath in to ready myself to tell Ned what I’ve discovered about Y/N. “She doesn’t like Spider-Man Ned.”
“What?! Who doesn’t like Spider-Man? You’re a legend!” Ned practically yelled.
“Say it a little why don’t you?” I angrily whispered at him.
“Sorry man. But for real, she doesn’t like Spider-man, who the fuck doesn’t?’
“She doesn’t, but get this! You ready?” Ned eagerly nodded his head waiting for me to continue. “I think I saw her mark.”
“Oh shit what is it? Where is it?” He said as we took our seats at our usual lunch table in the back of the cafeteria. I shook my head and pulled my lips into a tight lined smile. “Dude come on, you can’t just tell me you found her mark and not tell me where it is!”
“Calm down Ned I’m going to tell you just let me sit down first.” I laughed. “It’s of a spider and its on the bottom of her foot.”
“Wait, her’s is on the bottom of her foot!?”
“Yeah.” I said smiling to myself. Just thinking about you makes my heart start to flutter and my stomach flip, or thinking of how the sound of your laugh is practically sweet music to my ears, and I’d never get over how your smile is practically art work. ‘Fuck, I really do like her. Dammit, I hate it when Ned’s right.’
“And your mark is on the top of your foot.”
“What are you getting at Ned?” I asked him curiously wanting to see where he’d go with this.
“I’m saying, maybe she’s your soulmate dude.” Ned said extremely nonchalantly as he took a bite of his PB&J.
I nearly choked on my milk “What?! No! That’s- No. That’s impossible.
“What’s impossible?” You said placing your lunch tray down and sliding into the seat next to me.
"Um..."

Holding Onto Hope: Chapter 31
Destani
Wrapping my arms tighter around myself, I snuggled against the cool glass window and balled my fists into the oversized sleeves of my sweater. My body was drained and more than anything I was ready to get to my mama’s house and pass the hell out. Throughout the entire journey home, back to Virginia… I couldn’t bring myself anywhere close to sleep. Even after a long night up with Taylor before arriving at the airport for a seven a.m. flight, sleep still never found me on that flight. The only thing I could focus on was the girl I’d considered a sister since I was nine years old. She sat in the row across from me and though I tried not to stare, I couldn’t stop myself from carefully watching her tired and glossy eyes and her almost permanently reddened nose. She looked as though she hadn’t slept in days and like she’d burst into tears at the drop of a dime. The color had been flushed almost completely from her face and there were dark circles beneath her eyes and my heart ached for her. I knew she was grieving over what’d gone down with Chris and though I didn’t know the full details of what exactly happened from the time she went to confront him about everything I’d spilled to her to now, I knew something major had to have happened and it was physically showing all over her face and demeanor.
We took the trip home together with Mama J and Tawny, and I noticed that throughout most of the journey to and through the airport, Mama made sure to stay near Sy and there were often times that she looked as though she would simply fall apart, but Mama was always there to hold her up and quickly whisper words of encouragement to her. My own eyes would tear up every time I looked at her because this wasn’t the Sy’Diyah I knew… this was nowhere near the shy, but vibrant lil yellow girl I grew up with and claimed to the world was my blood sister.
I wasn’t fully in the loop on what’d happened with Chris either. All I really knew was that some shit popped off between them and now… it was just Mama J, Sy, Tawny, and myself on the way to our neighborhood. I didn’t even bother with my nosy ritual to find out what happened because this one was involving two of my best friends and I wanted to respect them both enough to not just dive right in their business.
Sy’Diyah sat in the middle seat between Tawny and I in the car with Tootie, who’d driven her boyfriend’s truck to pick us up, and Mama J at her side in the passenger seat. As I sat there, consumed with all thoughts of my best friend and all the stress in her life that I knew she didn’t need, I couldn’t help but briefly shut my eyes and smirk softly at the feeling of her snuggling against my back with her head resting against my shoulder. She was tired, I was sure of that, and if I had to remain in this position for hours on end just so she could get some rest I would do just that. Unfortunately there was no way she could snuggle up and sleep for long though… we were already rounding the corner to our street.
“Babe,” I whispered, frowning at the thought of having to disturb her from any sort of peace she’d found, “I’m sorry love, but we’re home.”
Slowly pushing herself up from me, she sat up sluggishly in her seat and kept her weary gaze straight. I cautiously watched her for a moment and frowned at the realization of just how exhausted she looked.
“Come on girls, lets head over and see Maddie.” Mama J said in a voice that sounded just as tired as Sy looked. There were a few times throughout our trip home where I could tell that she too looked as though she wanted to burst into some serious tears, but she always managed to maintain her composure, just so she could be strong for Sy.
Following her lead, we each climbed dreadfully out of the car and faced the bone chilling weather head on. We were smack dab in the middle of winter in Virginia and it was only a matter of time before the streets resembled a winter wonderland. A smile of relief washed over my face though, even as the icy wind whipped against my skin… we were finally home. Though I’d only just seen my mama a month ago, I guess I hadn’t realized just how home sick I was until I stood there breathing in the familiar Virginia air.
Mama J led the way through the grass and up the driveway to Auntie’s door and she barely had time to press her finger against the doorbell before the door went swinging open. Aunt Maddie stood there with her hands clasped together against her chest for a minute and I prayed she would snap out of her trance a little quicker… I didn’t have on nearly enough layers to keep standing in this damn cold!
“Oh my babies, I missed you!” She squealed, finally pushing the screen door open to allow us access. The moment we each crossed the threshold into the house, she swept Mama J into a hug and they whispered to each other for just a minute before she moved onto Tawny and myself. Saving her distraught niece for last, I stood off in the den and watched as she gripped onto her shoulders and stared through the most sympathetic eyes at her. Sy attempted to give her a half whit smile, but the smile never made it to her eyes… that were already filling with tears. It killed me to see this girl this way because in all my years of knowing her, I’d never witnessed her so out of character. I wasn’t used to not seeing her with a constant smile on her face. Wasn’t used to her endless waterworks… and I certainly wasn’t used to seeing her without her other half somewhere close by.
With a hard sniffle, I blinked rapidly in an effort to keep my own tears at bay and swiftly turned to find a seat in the den. As sad as I wanted to feel for the situation at hand and as much as I wanted to cry with each look I took into Sy’s heartbreaking stare, I knew I had to keep myself together for the sake of her. I knew we all needed to be as strong as we could… for her and Mama J.
--
We shared greetings and hugged and talked for a while in the den, but Auntie eventually loaded Sy up and led her upstairs to lie down. It wasn’t hard to tell that she desperately needed rest and because no one was quite sure how she’d react to being left alone, Aunt Maddie stayed with her until she drifted off to sleep then she slowly and quietly made her way back down to the den with us.
“Oh Tootie, thank you so much for getting them all home from the airport. I wanted to be there to see them off the plane, but I wanted to make sure everything here was set up just perfect for my baby girl.” Aunt Maddie said as she plopped back on the short sofa beside Mama J.
“Auntie you know it was no problem at all. I wasn’t gone leave them stranded up there… for too long.” Tootie laughed which, for once, gave us all something to laugh about.
“Well how are you ladies doing? How were finals?” Aunt Maddie asked, looking from me to Tawny.
“First of all, I think I can speak for both of us when I say I’m so glad finals are over!” I exclaimed, gaining a giggle from Tawny who’d been exceptionally quiet since we left Atlanta, “And I’m just really glad to be back home.”
“And I’m glad to have my babies back home.” We were left with a thick layer of silence then and I couldn’t help but glance quickly at Mama J. Though I knew Auntie’s statement meant absolutely no harm, there was still an underlying sting in what she’d said that I’m sure touched her directly. Sure we were all home, Tawny included, but… there was one missing.
“Well, um… the girls know you all are in town. They should be here any…” As if on cue, Aunt Maddie’s sentence was abruptly cut short by the sound of the doorbell ringing obnoxiously. I’d almost completely forgotten that we were indeed back in Richmond and my heart raced with excitement at the thought of who was just on the other side of the door. A bitch barely had time to turn to face the door as Aunt Maddie opened it, before a furry blur flew my way and sent me nearly toppling off the edge of the couch.
“Ahhhhhhh, my biiiiiiiiiiiiitch!” Tameka shrieked as she catapulted her body on top of me, completely disregarding the fact that she was still on the back side of the couch. She ran so fast and jumped at me so hard, she literally ended up flying over the back of the couch and landing in my lap where she sat halfway while she embraced me in a tight bear hug.
“Ms. Tameka honey, you better watch that language.” Auntie giggled as she shut and locked the door behind… Dontay! My vision was still blurred with Tameka hogging the space in my lap, but there was no way I could ignore the presence of Dontay and Nalay both edging forward into the den with the broadest smiles.
“Meka get your ghetto self up so we can see her too, with your dramatic behind.” Nalay laughed as she crossed over in front of us and waited for an eye rolling Tameka to climb off me.
“Whatever Nay, don’t be a hater all yo life.” With a pronounced smack of her lips, she reluctantly scooted into the empty space between Tawny and I.
“Hey Nay, I missed ya’ll!” I hadn’t had such a big smile on my face until now and after greeting both her and Dontay, it seemed almost permanent. I stood jammed between the two of them now with one arm wrapped snuggly around each of theirs, and Dontay of course towering over me on one side, and finally turned my attention back to the couch. The sight of Tawny sitting there wedged as far into the corner as she could get, with flushed cheeks and apprehension masking her face, left me smirking and shaking my head… I swear the girl was more shy than her sister when I met her ass a decade ago.
“Dontay, Nalay, Tameka…” Aunt Maddie started as she stood off to the side of us grinning like a proud mother, “I would like you all to meet Tawny, Sy’Diyah’s baby sister.”
Shocked was an understatement for each of their reactions and of course before anyone could gather their composure, Meka’s ratchet ass just had to be the first to speak up.
“Baby sister… like by blood? What the fu…”
Shooting a warning glare in her direction, Auntie quickly cleared her throat and shot a reassuring smile in Tawny’s direction “The girls were introduced over the Thanksgiving holiday and we now have the pleasure of having Ms. Tawny join us for Christmas. She was very excited to come up and spend time with all of the people who mean the most to her sister, so… in good Virginia fashion, let’s make her feel right at home.”
“Hi Tawny, I’m Nalay… it’s very nice to meet you.” Nay spoke up with the brightest grin plastered on her face. If no one else in this room was gonna make this girl feel at home with us, it would surely be Nay’s motherly ass.
“And I’m Dontay, but you can call me Don, or Tay… or baby… or baby daddy, if you wa…” Instinctively I nudged an elbow into Dontay’s side and cut my eyes at him. Knowing just how bad Tawny’s nerves were, I didn’t want the boy to freak her the hell out and have her running off back to Georgia before Christmas day! Much to my surprise, Tawny’s cheeks simply blushed… but she failed the hide the grin behind her right hand and I couldn’t help but laugh when she dropped her head and giggled. Maybe Dontay’s dried up game would finally pay off with Tawny.
“Well where Sy and Chris at? I mean I know they prolly tired after the flight, but Auntie I know you ain’t let them just stay upstairs sleep while we down here!” Tameka exclaimed.
Naturally, I tensed up at the mention of Sy’Diyah… and Chris. I could feel Aunt Maddie and Tawny both looking back and forth between each other and myself before Auntie finally cleared her throat and gave a tight-lipped smile.
“Well… Sy wasn’t feeling well when they landed, so she’s upstairs resting.”
“What about Chris? I was looking forward to seeing him and whooping up on him in some 2k for a couple hours.” Dontay asked with humor in his tone.
“He had a couple things to wrap up with finals and his coach before he could leave.” I blurted, sensing Auntie’s reluctance to speak up.
“Ahh man, Imma have to hit him up later then. I swear I miss my dawg Breezy… no homo though.” Dontay chuckled. By the looks of it, it seemed as though they’d fallen for what I’d said and for that I was thankful. I didn’t know when or if there would ever be a right time to explain to them all what’d transpired in Georgia only days before we came home. All I knew was now wasn’t the time or place to share that with them.
Like the old days, everyone quickly came out of a few layers of clothing and made themselves right at home and by the constant smile on Auntie’s face, I knew she was perfectly content. There was something to her eyes though… something that she couldn’t quite mask because it was something that I felt as well. I knew she was carrying the weight of her niece’s troubles right on her shoulders, just as I felt like I was carrying the weight of my two best friends on mine. I was happy to be home and thrilled to be surrounded by my childhood friends, but there was an unmistakable void there and I couldn’t help but wonder just how long it would take to fill it…
  Hope
I could hear the commotion downstairs. The voices of several of my childhood friends couldn’t be ignored, especially as I lie there wide awake. I wasn’t tired, as my aunt had assumed… well, my body was, but there was no way I could get my mind to slow down enough to even consider shutting my eyes. My heart raced with anticipation, for what I wasn’t sure. I felt nauseas and even beneath the thick sweater and fluffy socks that should have had me sweating like a pig… I trembled with anxiety. Though I was in no mood to socialize with anyone, I figured perhaps it would help me temporarily get out of my funk if I at least got out of this room. Being alone and stuck in silence for too long hadn’t been ideal for me for a while now, so with a low sigh I pushed myself into an upright position and cringed at the sensation of my hair matted against the side of my face. I didn’t feel up to taming it or even putting it into a bun, so I swiftly swept a hand through it to at least gather it on one side of my head then stood up and sluggishly made my way to the door.
By the time I made it almost halfway down the stairs, I could hear the talking and laughing and jovial commotion growing louder and I shut my eyes briefly to imagine myself that happy again. The slightest smile graced my face as my mind instantly rushed to my one source of happiness and the thought of his perfectly freckled golden face had me gripping the railing of the stairs a little too tight.
“Oh man, Sy… is that you!” I barely had time to get my eyes open before a tall, burly figure rushed forward up the last couple of steps and tugged me into an airtight bear hug. My heart nearly exploded with excitement and I found myself throwing my arms around this aromatic frame and squeezing like my life depended on it. It was him… I just knew it was him! I nearly shed tears from the thought of having him in my arms again and I felt my lips stretching into a smile so wide, I was sure my mouth would simply tear at the corners.
“It’s so good to see you girl. Damn, we missed you around here.” That voice… it snapped me out of my major moment of bliss and I snatched my eyes open and refrained from frowning deeply, because… that voice wasn’t his. Pulling back just slightly, I peered up to see just who I’d latched onto like a lost puppy and I realized then that it was Dontay that I was hugging… not my Charlie.
“Hi Don, how are you?” I giggled, because I was still genuinely happy to see him.
“I’m good… real good, now. Like I swear I can’t explain how much we missed ya’ll ‘round here. Life just ain’t been the same without my kinfolk down here so I finally feel complete!” He exclaimed happily.
“Really bro… you just gone stand over here and hog her like that?” With a playful roll of his eyes, Dontay moved to one side with one arm still comfortably tossed over the back of my shoulders and neither of us had much time to prepare for Tameka and Nalay both rushing up the stairs toward me. Of course Tameka flew past Nalay and embraced me well before she had a chance to and after finally hugging both girls, it seemed all thoughts of my troubles were tucked away… if for only a moment. The three of them led me carefully down the remaining steps as if I was a fragile porcelain doll and I locked eyes with Destani briefly as we rounded the corner into the den. She gazed at me like a proud mother with a tiny smirk on her face and I found myself, genuinely, smiling right back. There was no reason for me to lock myself away in the depressing confines of my room for the duration of this break while I had loved ones I hadn’t seen in months ready and willing to cheer me up. Besides, being surrounded by everyone would only aide me in saving my tears and actually looking forward to Christmas.
“I swear I don’t know if I just haven’t seen you in forever or what, but bih you are glowing… I swear you are.” Tameka said once we all filled up the den and claimed a seat. In that instant I could feel piercing stares coming from exactly where both Tawny and Destani sat, but I’d learned to maintain my composure at this point and I simply smiled and swept a hand through my wild tresses.
“I’m not sure what glow you see over here with my lack of makeup and sleep, but… thanks Meka.” The room burst into jovial laughter and my eyes danced over the span of the room, pausing for only a second on my aunt whose stare had awkwardly landed on my stomach. Unconsciously I tossed an arm up into my lap, wrapping it around my midsection, and continued laughing along with the group, because it felt good to laugh and not think about the issues at hand… for once.
“Where Mama J go?” Destani didn’t miss a beat and jumped right into a new topic, leaving me to breathe a hushed sigh of relief.
“I think she said she was going with Tootie to pick up Desean from his dad’s. That girl has been off and on with his father for I don’t know how long now. But today… I think they’re off, so Joyce has to be a mediator.”
We laughed at her revelation and I sat back and enjoyed my moment of bliss, even if it was only temporary.
--
I found it hilarious how determined and serious Dontay seemed about attempting to talk to Tawny. Much to my surprise, he managed to get her to open up to him and my heart fluttered for her each time I heard her cackle at one of his corny jokes. Nalay seemed to warm up to her almost instantly, simply because it was in her nature to be friendly to even strangers, but Tameka was a completely different story. She seemed less than enthused to have anything to do with Tawny and she barely even acknowledged that the girl was in the house. Whether because Tawny seemed to have Dontay wrapped around her finger without even trying, or because she was just unnaturally territorial, I wasn’t sure… whatever the reason, Tameka made it clear that her distaste for her was very real.
The four of us managed to weasel out of the den, leaving Dontay alone with his efforts to swoon Tawny and my aunt to take a private phone call she refused to have in our presence. I led the group on into the kitchen and hopped onto a barstool as they each parted ways to find their own snacks as they’d always done since we were kids.
“It don’t even be nobody in this house and your aunt stay stocked up like she feeding a damn tribe!” Destani exclaimed from the overly packed pantry.
“Girl that’s why I been fuckin with Auntie since day one… she know how to take care of the poor!”
We shared a laugh at Tameka’s comical, yet solemn, comment as she maneuvered her way around making a sandwich as if she were in her very own kitchen.
“So what is new ladies? Where has our communication been for the past six months? I feel like I haven’t seen ya’ll in years!” Destani said as she claimed a seat across from me with a bag of puffy Cheetos in tow.
“Not a damn thing for my ass! Ya’ll know with my broke ass mama, I had to take what I could get so I’m holding it down right here in VA at Reynolds!” Tameka said.
“Hey, that school ain’t half bad though. My dad got his associates there and I’ve always thought it was decent” Nalay chimed in, popping skittles individually into her mouth.
“Tuh, bitch please… you at the University with a scholarship. Of course a bitch ass community college would be decent to you.” We laughed as Nalay shook her head and smiled with a roll of her eyes.
“Whatever Meka, If I wouldn’t have gotten that scholarship I would have happily been right there at Reynolds with you.”
After graduation, Tameka and Nalay had both decided to stay back in Virginia for school… Nalay, because of her academic scholarship at the University of Virginia and Tameka, because she wanted to be closer to her mom to help her out at home.
“Well how’s mama doing Meeks?” Destani asked.
“Girl she aiight. Her and her bad ass Rugrats continue to live on my nerves. I’m still helping her around the house, but a bitch had to step out and get her own place ‘cause I could and would not survive in that hell house another day”
“What! You got your own place? When nigga… see this lack of communication we been on is childish!” Destani said.
With the most ratchet giggle, Tameka popped a few chips in her mouth and twirled around to the fridge to grab a bottle of water “It ain’t nothing fancy bitch, but you know… it’s a lil som’n. My new bae got me a lil hosting job at the clubs he be promoting or whatever, so I’m just doing what I do right now.”
“You have a new boyfriend?” I asked.
She rolled her eyes up toward the ceiling then, all dreamy like as if the thought of this guy alone brought her the most romantic feelings “Honey, yes! I met his ass on campus and he… is… fine! Like for real ya’ll, I don’t think I’ve felt a nigga like how I’m feeling this nigga in like… ever!”
I stared at her and smiled broadly. It felt amazing for me to witness my friends this way… happy and dare I say… in love.
“And what about you Dez? Found anybody to tame your wild ass in Georgia?” Nalay asked with a giggle.
With a roll of her eyes, Destani scoffed and flipped her curly tresses to one side of her head dramatically “Yes the hell I have, actually. And baby boy knows exactly how to tame this wild ass too.”
I rolled my eyes almost as hard as her and shook my head as the girls ogled over the man who was finally able to tame the beast. She even went as far as whipping out her phone and pulling up Taylor’s Facebook page to show him off to the girls, who of course ooh’d and aww’d and blew her head up even bigger than it already was over him.
“What about you Nay? Boo thang yet or is your head so far in the books you can’t see past the ink to find a nigga?” Destani snickered, leaning to the side to high five Tameka.
“Um, for your information Ms. Nosy… I am dating someone.” She said with a sly smirk.
“Where you meet him at?” Tameka asked.
“Here in Richmond…” Her sly smirk grew a bit and she raised a brow to match her mischievous expression.
“In Richmond… hol’ up, we know him?”
She nodded slowly and cast her gaze down onto the granite countertop “BJ…”
A layer of silence washed over the room for a split second before both Tameka and Destani burst into a screaming fit of excitement. I giggled at their antics and watched as Nalay slapped her hands up over her reddened face with embarrassment.
“Awww, don’t be embarrassed girl! You got you a good ole country Richmond nigga, ain’t nothing wrong with that… that’s what Sy did and her and Breezy are doing just fine.” Tameka laughed. The girls continued to laugh, but my laughter died down almost instantly as I absorbed her comment.
Before I could think to stop myself, I cleared my throat and crossed my arms over my midsection “Chris and I… we um… we actually broke up.”
Within seconds the entire kitchen was so silent, I had to look around to ensure I wasn’t the only one still sitting there. Nalay and Tameka both stared at me like two deer caught in headlights and Destani softly cleared her throat and dropped her head. For a moment I was overwhelmed by the silence and the sudden layer of awkwardness that seemed to sweep over the room and after a while I started to feel microscopic under the hard stare of the two girls.
“Aw Sy… I’m so sorry.” Nalay finally spoke up, in the softest and most sympathetic tone. Of course with her sitting closest to me, she reached over and pulled me into a side hug that should have had me crying, but after all the tears I’d been shedding lately I was thankful that I was finally learning to get a grip on my emotions.
“Well damn, if ya’ll ain’t make it… it ain’t no hope for the rest of us,” Tameka said with an expression of defeat on her face, prompting Destani to nudge her roughly in the side, “Shit bitch, ow! I’m just saying… I think we all had high ass hopes for Sy and Chris. I mean, no bullshit… they a match made in heaven.”
“That is true. Ya’ll were always the perfect couple… even before you became a couple.” Nalay said, leaving us all laughing awkwardly and sadly.
“But I mean, I thought it would be the end of humanity before ya’ll separated. What happened babe?” Tameka asked. The dreaded question… what happened. The question I’d hoped I could somehow avoid for the duration of this visit, had just come to light and it left my stomach churning. I couldn’t bring myself to reveal the dirty details of the demise of our relationship, so with a deep sigh through my nose I slowly shook my head and nibbled nervously into the inside of my lip.
“We just um… we decided to take a break for a while.” I mumbled. It wasn’t necessarily a lie that I’d told. It just wasn’t the cold and bitter truth that I myself could barely handle. I hadn’t even shared the complete truth with Destani because I simply couldn’t fathom the thought of anyone else harboring that truth.

October 4th, 2:44 AM, 10 New Messages:
“Y/N, they found your phone… That’s why… That’s why I stopped calling. I just really needed to hear your voice. It was with some guy, but they said he had nothing to do with you. He probably found it and stole it. Y/N, I went out and followed the guy. I questioned him as spider-man, and he was honest. He didn’t know where you were. I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you. I love you.”
October 4th, 3:37 PM, 11 New Messages:
“I went to school today. I had to keep my mind occupied, but I feel like it only kept my mind on you more. I noticed the absence of you so much, and Ned did, too. You weren’t there to help me with my English homework, and you weren’t there to tell me that I looked cute in this blue sweatshirt. It’s the one you’ve always loved. I don’t know why I bother calling. Maybe in a way you can still hear me. That sounds fucking dumb this is fucking dumb why did you have to leave!”
October 5th, 8:06 PM, 12 New Messages:
“I went to school again today. People kept coming up to me and saying ‘Oh Peter, I’m so sorry’. But they’re not sorry. They never knew you. They didn’t know like I did. I found myself walking after school and I ended up in front of your house. I climbed up to your window, and went inside your room like you were still there. Sorry if that’s a little creepy… I just.... It smelled like your favorite perfume, and your homework was there on your desk, waiting to be finished when you got back from wherever you went. The necklace I got you last year isn’t in it’s box, so I’m assuming you’re wearing it… I feel like a piece of me is with you in that necklace… That sounds fucking dumb I’m so sor-”
October 6th, 7:44 PM, 13 New Messages:
“I just wanted to hear your voice again… Do you remember that time, when you found out I was spider-man? I’d just saved you from the creepy guys, and you totally recognized my voice… I’m sorry I wasn’t there to save you this time. I love you.”
October 7th, 5:46 PM, 14 New Messages:
“I guess this is a daily thing. I’ve never felt like this I mean… I know my Uncle Ben died, but I don’t know if your dead or alive or where you went. I don’t know if you’re hurting, if you’re calling out my name, praying that I’ll come and save you… Maybe it would be better to know you’re dead than to just know you’re out there; dead or suffering. But maybe it’s not. I would give anything to hold you just one more time.”
October 8th, 7:16 PM, 15 New Messages:
“I spent the whole day looking for you. I don’t know when that’ll stop or when these phone calls will stop. You’re just… gone and I can’t get over it. It’s been a whole week since I last saw you. It was Saturday, and we were studying for some dumb English essay that I’ve probably bombed. I wish I had held you that night, and told you just how much I love you. I wish I had told you how I’d never let you go, and that maybe one day… We’d be together forever. I’ll never stop looking for you, I’ll never stop loving you, Y/N.”
October 9th, 8:23 AM, 16 New Messages:
“I’m just about to look for you again. Ned suggested we watch a movie or something but all I wanna watch is a fucking princess movie with you. Your parents called me and told me a few minutes ago they’re emptying out your room. Can you believe that? It’s barely been a week and they’re trying to erase you? I tried to tell them to wait, so I guess that’s what I’m going over to do.”
October 9th, 10:12 AM, 17 New Messages:
“Hi… When I, um, got to your house, your parents handed m-me this letter. God, I must sound like such a wreck right now. You wrote a month ago, and I guess you never gave it to me. Maybe you forgot to, or maybe you had it for a situation like this. It said that you loved me so much Y/N, and you always felt save. You loved our movie nights, the way we did our homework together, how I’d always make you feel better with a cup of tea, a-and how you believed in me as spider-man, always… You had said one of your best memories was me telling you just how much I loved and how beautiful you were, at our fourth date, the picnic… But I think my best memory is this. Finally seeing, on paper, that you loved me, and just how much.”
October 10th, 3:56 PM, 18 New Messages:
“Today, they started selling homecoming tickets, but I know there’s no way in hell I can go to that. I was supposed to take you, and I’d buy you the prettiest corsage, with your favorite yellow roses… God, I’m rambling. When your parents went through your room, I found my old gray Star Wars sweatshirt. The one you loved so much and you’d always wear it… I told them to keep it, I couldn’t take it away from you. I took a bunch of your things… and it was the weirdest crap, too. I took that box of the necklace I gave you, just in case it ever needed a place to go whenever you came home. I took your favorite perfume, and I took your school notebooks, and I took-k our movie blanket, along with the lipstick you had worn the last day I saw you. I remember that day vividly. You were the prettiest you’d been. Your hair was pulled up into a sweet, curly ponytail, and you had been wearing some red flowy dress. You had on some peachy pink lipstick, and I know because it was your favor-”
October 12th, 4:57 PM, 19 New Messages:
“I didn’t call you yesterday, but that’s only because I tried my hardest not to. I will never love anybody more than I love you, Y/N. God, it sounds so weird saying your name… It feels weird. I j-just… Can’t believe this is happening. You’re actually gone now… I’m starting to get used to the fact, and I can’t believe I’m getting used to the fact that you’re not coming back.”
October 14th, 9:36 PM, 20 New Messages:
“I’m in the the bathroom at school right now. They’re clearing your locker out. I took your stuff for you, but its just your textbooks and your book. I opened The Notebook, your favorite, and you had all these scribbles inside, and doggy-ear pages. Some pages had fallen out, and some we’re just gone altogether. It was falling apart, but it was yours…. I-I’m falling apart, but I’m still yours.”
October 21st, 10:59 PM, 21 New Messages:
“Homecoming is tonight. I didn’t go. I couldn’t. Instead, I stayed home and I watched Beauty and the Beast. I know it’s your favorite. You’d always beg me to watch it, but I never said yes. So I’m watching it now, but it’s not the same because you’re not here. I miss you much.”
October 31st, 1:01 PM, 22 New Messages:
“Happy Halloween, Y/N. I know our plans were to dress in matching costumes, so I went to the store and I got them for us. I know I’m fucking dumb but I can’t let you go. I finally started going out as spider-man again 7 days ago, but that doesn’t mean I got over the guilt of not being there to save you. They’ve already given your locker away and everyone’s already gotten used to your absence. I haven’t, I don’t think I ever will. It’s been 30 days since you disappeared. I want to be happy, Y/N. I do. But I don’t think I can do that anymore, not without. Maybe I’ll be okay eventually, just maybe. I know you’d want me to move on, and ask out Michelle or something, but I only want to be with you. I’ll wait for you. I’ll be here for when you decide to come back. This has been one of the hardest months of my life. I love you, Y/N Y/L/N. And I always will. Love, Peter Parker.”

Gaster, please take care of yourself...
WARNING! this is a tickle fic. If you don't like it, don't read it. Contains cursing It does include Gaster (Dadster, not handplates) and Asgore from undertale, BUT IT IS NOT A SHIP! IT IS ALL COMPLETELY PLATONIC AND FRIENDLY FRIEND BUISSNESS!! So fuck you guys! Yeah! (I'm kidding please love me) 😂😂😂 There is a bunch of stuff leading upto the did but it's worth it I swear! Okay. I'll shut up now. Ly fam! Go read!
---- ---- ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------- -------
It had been a long day. Gaster had been in the lab for nearly 24 hours finishing up a project and doing some work on the core. He did end up getting enough sleep to keep going with his head intact... Plus some coffee.... But it still wasn't enough. When he needed to speak to someone, he was able to keep the conversation going as per usual, but when he was alone..... He had almost fallen asleep in the middle of a couple experiments. So, as he was walking towards a set of stairs to get to another section of his lab -in which the coffee that was keeping him awake resided- he of course had to trip over his own feet and not catch himself before landing on the stairs at an odd angle... With a sickening crack.
"GAH! AAAHHRRGG!! FUCK!" Gaster yelped as he hit the cement steps. He had landed on his left side, hitting his upper arm at an odd angle on one of the steps. This particular spot was throbbing and screaming at him. This is no doubt what had caused the loud crack that echoed through the lab he was sitting in on his own.
Gaster rolled onto his back -still on the stairs- and looked at his arm. He could bleed thanks to the magic that kept him alive, and there was a large red patch seeping through his lab coat. This was worrying. It took alot to make a skeleton bleed.he managed to get up and over to a table before he collapsed onto a chair. He no longer needed anything to keep him awake. The pain was doing just fine. He slowly worked his lab coat off -not avoiding any pain like he had hoped- and rolled up his sleeve.
"Ah...." Gaster hissed and winced at the sight of his arm. "That would sertianly explain the bleeding..." He groaned as he managed to look at his arm. His upper arm was graced by a pretty nasty fracture that was leaking the red fluid that had concerned him more than the pain. As the adrenaline began to fade away, the arm hurt worse. It was slightly bent and would need to be reset, and for as smart as Gaster was, he was also stubborn. It was far from him to go for help. He would have to fix it himself. He took a deep breath and held part of his arm with his right hand, taking hold about an inch below the fracture and stiffening up his shoulder before close of his eyes and sharply cracking the arm back into place. Screaming and allowing a couple tears to slip out of his eyes despite himself. At least it was in place. He wrapped the fracture in a large quantity of bandages, sucureing them and sighing. It was far from ideal, but it would do. He flinched as his cell phone rang. The contact made his eyes widen.
"Y-your Magesty! H-hello... Is there... Is there something you need?" Gaster asked, stuttering from the continuing pain in his arm.
"~Gaster! My friend! Hello. Yes I... Are you alright? You rarely stutter...~" Asgore voice rang through the phone.
"Oh! Oh no, I-Im alright. J-just tired. You needed something, Sire?"
"~Yes... I was just reminding you about Tea in an hour. You've been late quite often lately.~" Asgore sighed.
"My apologies, Sire. I have been letting myself get a little bit too involved in my work. I will do my best to be on time today."
"~Its quite alright Gaster. I worry for you is all.~"
"Y-you really have no reason to worry about me, your Majesty. Surely you have enough to worry about without adding me to the list. I will be on time today, I promise. I-I really must be going now though. There is something I must attend to."
"~Alright Gaster. I'll let you go. I will see you in an hour~"
"Absolutely, Sire. Goodbye." Gaster finished as he hung up. Even better. He would not allow for the king to know he was wounded. He worried enough as it is.
Shoving some pain medicine into his face, Gaster walked over to his overnight room that he had incase he had to hole himself up for a few days and changed his shirt and lab coat, grunting as he did so. He prayed he could keep a dignified status whilst with the king.
An hour later, Gaster had walked into the throne room and kneeled whilst he announced his presence. His left arm remained as still as possible. Asgore gave his useualy short speech about 'Gaster being a friend and having no need to be so formal around him', but it never sticks anyway. Gaster would always treat the Goat Monster infront of him the same. He was the king for god sakes! They sat and talked as usual, but Asgore continually gave the doctor these odd looks. He was fed up.
"Your Majesty, might I ask why you keep giving me those odd looks?" Gaster asked, placing his cup down on the small China plate that was made for it.
"Are you sure your alright? You haven't moved your arm at all since you came in and you seem very tence. Oh dear, your shaking aswell. Gaster, my friend, are you hurt?" Asgore asked, taking on a worried expression. Gaster's eyes widened and he looked at his hand. Oh for the love of... He was shaking!
"I.... U-um. No. I'm alright... Really! You have no reason to worry about me, Sire." Gaster gulped. Dammit. Busted before he could slink off.
"Really?" Asgore asked in a tone that plainly pointed out his disbelief.
"...Y-yes?"
"Not even you believed that one." Asgore sighed standing and starting over to his friend. Gaster gulped and stood up.
"I- I really should be going... Thank-you for the tea, it was-" Gaster started, getting cut of my his Majesty's hand gently pressing againsed his chest, pulling back and revealing a soul. The King placed his hand underneath it and checked his friends HP. The doctor had lost Heath.
"Gaster! Your wounded! My friend, I ask that you tell me these things so I can help." Asgore exclaimed worriedly as Gaster shoved his soul back in place.
"It's nothing, Sire. Now, I really should be going if you don't mi-" Gaster was cut off from slinking away as Asgore grabbed his good arm right by his ribs with his large hand and held him in place.
"No. Doctor Gaster. Where are you wounded?" Asgore asked firmly and worriedly cutting Gaster off as he was about to speak. "And don't you dare say that it's nothing. Allow me to help you even just this once!" He spoke angrily.
"Sire-"
"Gaster..."
"I- ugh..." Gaster sighed before mumbling in reply. "My upper left arm. It's really not that bad. No need to worry over it."
"Of Corse it's something to worry over! You are wounded! Now, let me see. Hold still." Asgore said in a more calm and kind tone, gently reaching for Gaster's arm. Gaster fenced up, but still ended up flinching in spite of himself. Asgore simply rolled up his friend's thin sleeves until he saw he brown bandages wrapping the wound. Gaster winced as the king unsound the bandages until he saw the bloody and cracked bone underneath.
"Gaster!" Asgore gasped, "Why would you hide this from me!? Hold still!" He asked as he gently grabbed the wound and allowed his hand to glow green with healing magic.
"Wait! Sire! You don't... Have... To......." Gaster yelped trailing off as he magic put him into a dazed state. It only took two muinets for the arm to be healed and only minorly sore, but it felt like hours wile Gaster was in that trance-like state. When he came to his senses however.... "Your Majesty. You really didn't have to-" Gaster began, shaking his head to clear it and being cut off.
"Yes I did. You are my friend, Gaster. And I worry. Why did you hide that?" Asgore asked softly, placing his handsome on his friends shoulders. Gaster's sleeves fell back in place as his arm was allowed to drop. He looked away from the king.
"I hid it because you worry. You are already bombarded with enought to worry about without adding my burden to the pile. Until we are out of this retched mountain, my needs come last." Gaster stated firmly. The king was shocked. With a curt face, the taller and stronger out of the two lifted his friend up from under the arms to look at him eye level. Gaster's eyes widened as he grabbed onto the king's wrists, blushing slightly.
"Gaster. You. Are not. A burden. You are my friend. Your needs should not come last! If not under the authority of your king or the worry of a coligue, then please, by the plead of a friend, take better care of yourself! I'm not asking you to take a weekly spa day! I'm simply requesting you to look out for your health, safety, and emotional state. Is that really so much to ask?" Asgore stated in a tone that almost made Gaster give right then and there, but -as previously mentioned- he was stubborn.
"I am truely sorry, Sire, but my opinion and state of mind remains unchanged." Gaster stated as he looked away from the king. Asgore frowned. How could he cheer him up and get his friend to take better care of himself...? Asgore thought for a moment before he had a 'lightbulb' moment. He smirked playfully.
"Now Gaster..." Asgore began in a playful and mischievous tone that defiantly caught Gaster by supprize, considering the scientist looked the king in the eye with a chonfused look on his face. "I am going to give you one chance to swear you'll take better care of yourself..." Asgore finished. Okay, that smirk was worrying.
"Sire... I have no idea what your planning... But that smirk tells me it's nothing good. You still will not change my mind, however." Gaster gulped. His eyes flashed purple for a split second, just long enough for Asgore to see it before the skeleton regained his self control. He was nervous. Asgore grinned.
"Ooh... Bad choice." He chuckled before he began to lightly scratch the scientists ribs with the hands hat were already placed there. Gaster jumped, his arms coming down to press againsed his body instantaneously.
"Y-your Majehesty! Wahat are y-you do-ing!? Sihire!" Gaster yelped, stuttering in an attempt not to laugh.
"I think you know exactly what I'm doing, Gaster, and by the looks of things, it's working!" Asgore chuckled. Gaster began squirming more and kicking his legs a little, trying to get away. He had never been more confused in his life. He king. Asgore. He was... Tickling.... The Royal scientist? Just the mere thought made it harder to keep his giggles in.
"S-Sihihire! Thihis is v-very chihildish! Plehehease relehease mehe!" Gaster giggled. Actually giggled! This was increasingly embarassing for poor Gaster.
"I don't think so, my friend." Asgore chuckled lightheartedly. The king moved his friend to his chest, facing away from him, and sat down cross legged. Gaster was trapped in the king's lap! He didn't even truely understand what was happening. All he knew was that he was very red faced and that he jumped again as the king attacked his sides.
"Gah! Nohohohoho! Sihihihihihihire! Stohohohohohohop ihihit! Plehehehehase! Nahahahahohohohoho!" And there it was. Gaster had broken. He was smiling wide and bright, laughing his bony ass off in he king's lap. Gaster would have retaliated if it was anyone else. He has two sons. Its not like he's never done something like this before. But this was the king! He couldn't just retaliate to the king, let alone through all that armor! So the scientist sat and laughed, squirming and trying to get away. This was very embarassing. He couldn't get away! He tried reaching out to see if that table was still in reach. It was not. He pinned his arms down to his sides to try and shove the hands away, not such luck. He kicked out, only ending in pushing further into the king's chest and sliding down further into his lap.
"My my Gaster! You squirm quite a bit don't you?" Asgore chuckled, allowing Gaster to slip to the side a little, ending with the poor victim lying across his lab in his back. Asgore stuck his hands under the skeleton's arms and began digging his fingers in. Gaster squeaked and started to laugh even harder, arching his back and squirming away more.
"SIHIHIHIHIHIHIRE!! Nahahahahahahahahohohoho! Plehehehehehehehehehehehease! Enohohohogh!!!! Gahahahahahaha!" Gaster continued to laugh loudly, squirming and kicking away. He managed to get most of the wasy away, but the king just grabbed his ankle, removing the scientists dress shoe and attacking his feet.
"NOHOHO! NOHOHOHOHAHAHAHahahahahahahaha!!! Cohohohohohome ohohohohohon! Plehehehehehehehehehehehease!" Gaster cried, his laughter getting louder.
"You know, this side of you is much more fun. You hardly ever laugh or let loose! This is good for you! Asgore smiled. Gaster was banging his fist on the floor and trying to claw away on his belly, but the king was too strong. No madder how much Gaster kicked or squirmed, Asgore would not let go. We'll, until he stopped to pull Gaster into his lap again and go at his hips. That was much worse. He actually squealed. He was layed on his back again, so he did his best to push the king's hands away.
SIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIRE! PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEASE! IHIHIHIHI CAHAHAHAHAHANT!!! GAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Gaster squealed, laughing louder than he would have liked. The king would have stopped then and there, but the scientists laughter was still more bright than desperate. So he continued, teasing a little to.
"you do realize your alowed to use my name right? Asgore. You know how to say it right? My god you laugh loudly!" Asgore chuckled kindly, smirking before pushing the scientists clothing and arms out of the way of his belly and sipping his head down. By the time Gaster realized what was about to happen it was too late. I loud raspberry was blown on his spine, causing him to shriek and laugh boistorously.
"NAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH MYHYHYHY GOHOHOHOD!!! STAHAHAHAHAHAHAP!!!!!! GAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Gaster shrieked, pushing on the king's head and trying to suck um into a ball the protect himself. Neither strategy was working. It wasn't until Asgore accedently brushed Gaster's elbow and got a snort that he paused. Gaster was panting and taking in more air than seemed reasonable.
"Gaster? Did you just snort when I touched your elbow?" Asgore smirked, raising an eyebrow. Gaster froze. He sat still for half a moment before Asgore spoke. "Is your funny bone ticklish?" Asgore cuckled questioningly. Gaster jumped into action, trying to get away with increased vigor. Asgore just laughed and pinned one of his arms down, experimentally scratching his friends funny bone. He flinched, snorted, and started to giggle from that small touch. Oh. This was gonna be good! Asgore went all out, and Gaster flipped. He shrieked and started trying desperately to get away. He was begging and laughing and makeing noises in his own little skeleton language. It was hilarious. This was most definitely his worst spot. Gaster had tears of mirth running down his face and he was laughing so hard that you could probably hear him in Snowden.
"Have you had enough Gaster? Will you start taking better care of yourself finnaly?" Asgore asked. Gaster couldn't even speak, so he just shook his head. Man! He was stuborn! Asgore did have one last thing up his sleeve though. He leaned his head down and blew on his friends funny bone in warning and to tease. Gaster's eyes snapped open.
"NO! WAIT! DONT- NAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA PLEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHE! IHIHIHIHI CAHAHAHAHAHANT!!!" Gaster shrieked as Asgore blew raspberry after raspberry on his funny bone, causing him to fall into silent laughter. Asgore smirked.
"how about now?" He asked between raspberrys. Gaster nodded frantically. It just had to stop. Asgore laughed and stopped with one last scratch at his friends elbow before sitting up with Gaster panting in his lap, exhausted.
"Please..... Never..... Do that...... Again......" Gaster panted. Asgore laughed.
"If I find your not taking care of yourself or your in a bad moon, I will not hesitate my friend." Asgore laughed. Despite the grin on his face, Gaster groaned and threw his arm over his eyes. Asgore laughed. "Alright, up you get, my friend." Asgore smiled helping his friend to his feet. Gaster replaced his shoe and continued speaking with the king for some time. This day was certainly one for the history books.

Strength Potion
Tumblr media
Edward The Great: Hey man you awake?
Weird Cedric: dude it’s three am
Weird Cedric: of course I’m awake what’s up
Edward The Great: Tryouts for the wrestling team are in three weeks. I don’t think I’ll be able to take the heat. I know I won’t make it.
Weird Cedric: Hey hey hey don’t give up now you GOTTA make it
Edward The Great: I’m a stick. Let’s be honest. Even if I worked out every day there’s no way I could match up to those meatheads.
Weird Cedric: steroids?
Edward The Great: Are you… you’re absolutely serious. Dude. No. Illegal. Expensive. And it shrinks your dick.
Weird Cedric: oh yeah
Weird Cedric: I’ll keep my eyes peeled and tell you if I come up with something
Weird Cedric: don’t give up man you got this
Edward The Great: Thanks for the false confidence. It’s shockingly working.
_ _ _
Bunny: <3 <3 <3 hi Eddie!
Edward The Great: Oh! Hi Alyssa.
Bunny: So Cedric slipped to me that you wanna join the wrestling team?
Edward The Great: I’m going to murder your brother, I swear to god. But yeah. What do you think?
Bunny: The fact you’re trying at all I think is super cool! :D I wish you luck!
Edward The Great: Really? Thanks… but if I’m gonna be honest, I don’t think they’ll let me in. I’m trying really hard but I don’t think I’m strong enough.
Bunny: … Well…
Edward The Great: Yeah?
Bunny: So um. You know how I love to search the weird parts of the internet? There’s this guy. Name’s Gus.
Edward The Great: I already told Cedric there’s no way in hell I’m not taking steroids.
Bunny: Good for you! I hear they shrink your testicles… but this isn’t steroids. This guy’s a total genius. Natural cure. And if I’m looking correctly, he just put up a new thing about a ‘strength potion’ he’s concocted.
Edward The Great: No shit.
Edward The Great: How much is it? If it even helps me bulk up a little I’ll go for it.
Bunny: Thirty five dollars for a week’s dose. Gus recommends two weeks for the best effect. If you go for it, I’ll pitch in!
Edward The Great: I’m in, why not. If I turn up dead, you know who and what to blame.
Edward The Great: … Bunny?
Edward The Great: Bunny, are you still here?
Bunny: … My dad just got home. He’s mad. I can hear him shouting at Cedric.
Bunny: Oh god I think I forgot to take care of the dishes
Bunny: I have to go
Edward The Great: Stay safe.
_ _ _
Edward The Great: Cedric? Are you two okay?
Weird Cedric: I’m good
Edward The Great: Cedric…
Weird Cedric: … Can’t go to school tomorrow. I got a black eye and it hurts to breathe
Weird Cedric: nothing’s broken though
Weird Cedric: take notes for me
Edward The Great: Shit.
Edward The Great: … And Bunny?
Weird Cedric: she made me promise not to tell
Edward The Great: I’m going to kill him.
Weird Cedric: no man my dad’s a fucktard but he’s also huge and a COP with a GUN
Weird Cedric: you don’t stand a chance
Edward The Great: Your sister told me about this ‘Strength Potion’ thing. Wanna give it a shot?
Weird Cedric: after tonight hell yeah
Weird Cedric: maybe if I can overpower him just once he’ll finally leave us alone
_ _ _
Edward The Great: Okay I’m adding your sister to this chat.
Bunny: Hi bro :D :D <3 <3 <3
Weird Cedric: hey baby sis
Weird Cedric: what’s up man
Edward The Great: Did you get the stuff?
Weird Cedric: yup it comes in a powder you mix with milk
Weird Cedric: looks like nesquik smells like shit
Edward The Great: Smells all burnt to me. Turns the milk a weird color too. It’s turned like mossy green.
Bunny: Bottoms up, boys! :D I can’t wait to see the results!
Edward The Great: Oh fuck me.
Weird Cedric: dude my sister’s in here
Weird Cedric: same though my eyes are watering and I’m trying not to barf
Bunny: Oh no D: I’ll bring you some orange juice Cedric!
Edward The Great: Tastes like ashes. Or the time my mom made me drink charcoal infused water because I had a stomach bug. Coats my throat like it too. UGH.
Edward The Great: Orange juice does the trick though. If I don’t see results like ASAP I’m giving up.
Weird Cedric: agreed. This shit nasty
Bunny: Oh shit that’s dad’s car in the drive! Cedric, did you take out the garbage?
Weird Cedric: oh god I didn’t. I’ll do it fast maybe he won’t notice. Night Ed.
_ _ _
Edward The Great: My stomach hurts but these results are. LEGIT.
Weird Cedric: I know
Weird Cedric: it’s been five days and I’m already trimming down
Edward The Great: I know! Same workout schedule and my abs are on the way to rock. Hard.
Edward The Great: Look out, Coach Mayer. You’re gonna have a new star on the team.
Weird Cedric: you’re working out? Shit I should start doing that
Edward The Great: Oh hardy fucking har.
Edward The Great: So um. Alyssa.
Weird Cedric: what about her
Edward The Great: Has she… talked about me lately?
Weird Cedric: I get it you want to bone my sister
Weird Cedric: its cool though
Edward The Great: Oh thank god I thought you’d kill me.
Weird Cedric: she’s into you and you’re like the least shitty person I know.
Weird Cedric: you break her heart though and I’ll break your spine
Weird Cedric: with my new bod
Edward The Great: I get it I get it
Edward The Great: I love her man. I’d rather stab myself than hurt her.
_ _ _
Bunny: So? Don’t keep me waiting! :D Did you make it? Did you?
Edward The Great: Well…
Edward The Great: Yes. :D
Bunny: Oh my god! Oh my god! I’m gonna be dating a guy on the wrestling team!
Edward The Great: Where’d you get that idea?
Bunny: … Cedric.
Edward The Great: He’s dead to me.
Edward The Great: But you really want to date me?
Bunny: Duh! J You goof. You’re super sweet, and you’re my brother’s best friend! If my brother thinks you’re good people, you’re good people.
Bunny: BTW have you experienced any side effects? From the Strength Potion?
Edward The Great: Well, now that you mention it… other than the abs, I’ve gotten a bit of a cough. I feel like I’m choking on dust. It’s probably just a cold though. A few of the other dudes on the team have the same thing.
Bunny: It probably is then. I’m just a worry wart.
Bunny: Soooo, see you Wednesday for dinner and a movie?
Edward The Great: I can see who wears the pants in this relationship, and I like it. Absolutely.
_ _ _
Weird Cedric: ok mayday mayday Houston we got problems
Weird Cedric: I swear to god if you don’t wake up right now I’m telling my sister that the Strength Potion shrunk your penis too
Edward The Great: What the fuck?! Your penis is shrinking?
Weird Cedric: well not yet
Weird Cedric: but shit just got weird
Weird Cedric: I woke up because I was coughing and I’m not shitting you I started coughing up mud
Edward The Great: The fuck???
Weird Cedric: I turned on the light and everything
Weird Cedric: It’s not blood. It’s flat out dirt.
Weird Cedric: dirt that smells like the shitty strength potion dirt
Edward The Great: Okay okay okay. First off, try to convince your dad to let you go to the doctor tomorrow.
Weird Cedric: fat fucking chance
Edward The Great: I said TRY. And next, let’s both cut off the strength potion. If you’re coughing up dirt, odds are I will be too. It’s probably something that’s built up in our respiratory system because we’ve been taking so much.
Weird Cedric: dude I only did the trial period
Weird Cedric: the three days
Weird Cedric: I’ve been out for weeks
Edward The Great: … Fuck.
_ _ _
Edward The Great: How’s Cedric?
Bunny: Bedrest. The doctor says that it’s a kind of fungus that’s grown in his lungs, but my dad refuses to let him stay in hospital. Says it’s too pricey and we can’t afford it. Can’t afford it, my ass, we’d be able to if he didn’t drink away his fucking paycheck!
Bunny: I’m sorry Edward… how are you doing?
Edward The Great: Not great if I’m honest. Literally every time I cough a puff of dust comes out. My mom thinks I’ve taken up a pottery class because I reek of clay. Has Cedric’s skin gotten, well… for the lack of better term, is it like some sort of shell?
Bunny: … Holy shit. You too?
Edward The Great: Yeah. And I’m taller. I’m buying new clothes and praying Mom doesn’t notice. My skin’s like cracked mud. It’s getting tougher by the day and it’s getting harder to move my face. I’m basically perma bitch face right now.
Edward The Great: I think I’m… turning into something. I’m so scared.
Edward The Great: Will you still like me even if I’m a monster?
Bunny: Of course! I like you Edward! Not what you look like or your muscles!
Bunny: You’ve always been perfect, Edward. And I
Bunny: my dad’s home oh my god oh my god and he’s kicking up a fit oh my god
Bunny: I lov
_ _ _
Edward The Great: Where the FUCK are you Cedric?!
Edward The Great: I went to your house and your dad’s dead. I heard some of the cops say his body was completely crushed like he was ran over by a car. What happened? Is Alyssa okay? Are YOU okay?
Weird Cedric: This is Alyssa. His fingers are too thick to push the buttons now.
Weird Cedric: How are you hitting them?
Edward The Great: Voice commands. My fingers are weird too. More accurate they’re the size of sausages and the joints are stiff. What happened to us?
Weird Cedric: I’m so sorry. This is my fault. I keep trying to email Gus and he’s not responding. I think you’ve been set up.
Edward The Great: This is not your fault, okay? This is that little prick’s fault. Where are you guys going?
Weird Cedric: We stole dad’s car. Cedric told me of a place to go. He said it’s the one with all those weird stories about goat men? He said you’d understand.
Weird Cedric: I love you. So much.
Edward The Great: Tell him I understand. Thank you. I’ll catch up. One thing about having a body made of stone and mud is that you don’t get tired. I’m gonna find the other guys though… If this is a fungus, I’ve spent the last three weeks coughing it into their faces and they’ve breathed it in. I’m gonna go offline and I’ll see you again.
Edward The Great: I love you too Alyssa. Just as much. Take care of Cedric. And if Gus contacts you, tell me where to find that little piece of shit so he can turn me back.
