One thing I think everyone forgets about Bugs and Daffy's dynamic that has been phased out in recent years is that Daffy is perfectly competent when Bugs ISNT around. When Daffy was first introduced, for all intents and purposes, he WAS Bugs. He was the Bugs to Porky's Elmer Fudd, and also to that one dog's, I don't know, Yosemite Sam? Anyways, the point is Daffy was just like Bugs, outsmarting everyone, until he tried to outsmart Bugs the same way one day and couldn't. Bugs made Daffy look like an idiot SO HARD that everyone thinks that was the whole point of his character. (Bugs bunny is so fucking iconic) Which, if you ever wonder why in most media Daffy is insanely jealous of Bugs? Yeah, that's a big reason. And while this dynamic isn't touched on much anymore, Daffy tends to be portrayed as a total idiot whether or not Bugs is around, I kinda miss it. And of course Bugs still effects Daffy, Daffy still acts slightly different around Bugs, but the absolute complete CHANGE was so delicious. Daffy used to be a genius until Bugs made him look dumb, he was so smart until Bugs showed up and all of a sudden he was an idiot. The same thing happened with Wil E. Coyote btw, with BOTH the roadrunner AND Bugs on different occasions. Yeah but anyway, sorry about the rant, I just find it so interesting.
Literally beaming with happiness, today I was able to acquire a dream purchase of mine. I got a mountable black wolf pelt. He's absolutely huge!!! Along with him, I got a beautiful coyote rug. The way they mounted his face is brilliant.
Hey, Oregon Fish & Wildlife Commission is taking public comments on coyote killing contests in preparation for a December 16 vote. I think it goes without saying that there shouldn't be any contests involving seeing how many coyotes (or other wildlife) you can shoot, and a ban would be well overdue. You can make a public comment here: https://secure.everyaction.com/gbh-_Wo1qUO1aVcnWmX6Pw2
(Reblogs definitely welcome!)
Do you any headcanons on Raine and Eberwolf's palismans?
Fruit bat for Raine and Badger for Eberwolf. Raine’s has a more smooth angler carving technique, Eberwolf more rough whittling type. Both sent to the Bat Queen for safety when becoming coven heads.
the internal conflict between wanting to have a meat free diet bc of high empathy for animals / the environment, but also having theriotypes that instinctively crave meat 24/7 is so so real
I LOVEEE it when biologists say "depending on the individual." I love acknowledging variation within a species and the realization even the most instinct driven organisms don't have their natures set in stone. I love when organisms sit between boundaries of our clearly defined categories.
I love you let's piss on biological determinism togather.
I caught this Coyote in the hunt at Farmington Bay the last time I was out there. He was pretty far away but I got a few clicks just in case. During the migration season, food is plentiful out there for them.
Found a nice little patch of some lovely crinoid fossils while creeking for a bit earlier today. Even found part of a calyx from one—don't find those terribly often around here!
And little did I know, there was a coyote exploring around on the bank right behind me while I was filming this. Got a quick, potato-quality video of her just as she noticed me and ran off. Young coyote and she obviously has puppies right now. So cool!
