I’m not much of a fanart person, but I knew I had to make one of Neon depicting her in her hometown Manila. As you probably already know, cultural representation is very important to me, which is why I’m glad that Neon was added into the game (even if I’m not a Duelist player).

This is not only fanart for a video game, but also an expression of Filipino cultural art. How much of Manila’s architecture and other local details can you recognize?

Welcome to my blog!

Yep, I’m using this site as a blog page exclusively. I wanted a place to catalogue my progress on my capstone project for my game art degree. I will be posting updates every Monday to report my progress.

What kind of content can you expect to pop up here?

Game Art Studies

My current plan is to research and study advanced game environment art techniques with the goal of learning and refining new skills so I can use them for my capstone.

Graybox Development Updates

I will also eventually be continuing progress on the development of my level graybox, which I spent the last couple of months developing as part of an independent study through my university in advanced environment art and design.

Asset Production Updates

Finally, at the end of the summer, I intend to officially start production of final assets for the project.

Other Fun Stuff!

If there is any interest, or I feel the inclination, I may share reference materials, tutorial resources, or inspiring works/moodboards as I gather them. These posts would pop up in between each weekly update.

I’m Nex. :) I created this blog as a space to explore aspects of myself that I’ve repressed throughout my 20s due to internalized “cringe culture” and things that I’ve been through IRL.
