Feeling. Weird...
#Sel talks#How to know when you're striking the right balance? How much trust you should you give to other people to know what that balance should be?#Especially if you can't recognize it yourself?#At what point am I sacrificing too much of my happiness for my safety or comfort?#He can try as much as he wants but it will still hurt me in the end#How full of himself can he be to say he doesn't know why we're pushing him away; recognize that there's something queer going on#And he's still talking about girls having dicks#Did it hurt when I told her I was holding on to the relationship for her sake? Because she seems to think it's a good idea?#Does she recognize that saying she had it worse/ I could have it worse doesn't help?#Why is she trying so hard to keep us as a family? I never asked that of her. She knows why we're distancing from our dad. Why?#Because she had it worse but is still in contact with her own dad? Why does she think that translates at all?#I have moral dilemma of taking money from my dad when 1) I don't like him and would rather not return the favor 2) our previous spat made i#Seem like he thought I was staying for the money 3) he keeps offering to pay for things#I want to say I can't recognize anything around me; but I know a part of that is sleapee and the other is not having the energy to go out#And be around people#But it's all too much; knowing people would rather me dead than to live happily; feeling like I'm powerless to stop the suffering of others#And I know a part of that is not being able to find people like me; lacking a community or otherwise friend group#Just. Feeling lost in my day to day. Not being able to really connect with anyone. And the one person I pay to drag that stuff out of me ma#not be the person I need#Feeling. Alone; disconnected; powerless; adrift; complacent; unable to grow; ect#Maybe I should get out tomorrow

I watched the three Troll Movies the last few days and got inspired to make an Au! I was like, what would happen if a troll didn't turn grey all the way? What if they had lost hope, but not all of it? So I thought drew some fun designs and here they are!
Tumblr media
Basically King Peppi was separated from Poppy's group and ended up with Viva's, causing poppy to think her dad is dead and is more frightened of the Burgens because of it. She starts to get grey marks on her body, but thanks to her still somewhat happy, bubbly personality, she doesn't go fully grey. The group has leadership issues since Peppi is gone, with a lot of infighting about what they should do and where they should go. Rebuilding society is a lot harder on the group, which is why it's so easy for kids like Poppy to get lost in the shuffle, nobody to really, fully take care of them.
Tumblr media
Branch, still grey after the loss of his grandma and abandoned by his brothers, is there for Poppy when the adults are busy fighting or Poppy's friends have to go home. The two have a lot more in common in this Au, both fearing Bergans and their possibly return. So Branch gets her to help build his bunker with him, as well as explain his backstory to her far earlier than the movies.
Tumblr media
Eventually the Burgans DO find them as the adults make too much noise both partying and fighting over what to do. Poppy and Branch are the only ones to realize and Poppy manages to convince her friends and a few others to hide in the bunker with them. More Trolls are lost to the Bergans but Poppy is fully recognized as leader by the ones she's saved. Branch and Poppy both agree to abandon their current location, going deeper into the woods where the foliage is so thick no Bergan can enter. Though there are a lot of dangerous wild animals and very little light. The entire town starts living in bunkers interconnected by tunnels. Rarely singing or dancing. They remain pretty undisturbed until the events of either the second or third movie... depending on weather Poppy got the pop string or if Peppi took it with him.
Other than that, Viva and Clay are the ones who carry out the events of the first movie. (Its not quiet the same, Creek is with Poppy's group and still a coward that gets kicked out, but he doesn't effect Viva and Clay's story.) For the second I'm leaning toward Peppi taking the string with him (but that can be changed), so Barb attacks the Putt Putt Trolls instead. However Viva and Clay also handle that, and Viva manages to steal Barb's heart in the process. (I'm not sure if Barb is the same age as Poppy or not, but in my Au she's between Poppy and Viva in age, so its fine.)
So right now its not until the time around the third movie that Branch and Poppy make contact with their siblings. Branch is more cold and doesn't talk much outside of to Poppy. Poppy is more withdraw, reserved and nervous. Both have continually greyed under the stress of taking care of their people, fighting off predators, getting supplies and hiding from Bergans. However Poppy's hope for her people has kept her going and Branch's belief in Poppy keeps him going.
Branch and Poppy also get together sooner than the movies, as they knew each other longer. (Poppy has a brief stint of dating Creek first before he betrays them and gets kicked out. ) Their relationship is good, they can talk without words and are almost always on the same page, but they also feed each other's anxieties and pessimism. Once reunited with their families and the more nitty gritty details have been sorted out (Who's the Pop Queen, ect, ect.) the two actually have to be separated for their own health, as they keep feeding each other's fear, dreaming up worse case scenarios and how to get out of them, trying to make a new bunker, hording supplies, ect. This temporary separation gives them a chance to get to know their families again.
Poppy didn't remember Viva at all in the third movie, so I don't think she'd remember her father either in this AU. So she has to build a relationship from scratch with people who already love her in Putt Putt Pop Village. Branch, meanwhile, hates being away from Poppy and hates his brothers who abandoned him. (Though deep down he really wants them back in his life.) It also doesn't help that he has essentially gone from a perpetually dark, dangerous forest to the brightly lit, busy beaches of Vacay Island, getting constant over stimulation. He's very resistant to his brother's help at first, but eventually realizes that their just trying to improve his health (Physically and mentally) and that fighting it is just hurting Poppy. (Poppy makes a turn about much easier than Branch does, reversing some of her greying. However when she and Branch get to visit during the temporary separation, Branch actually causes some of it to come back, which is when he realizes the others are right and tries to do more to get better himself.) After they do improve they're free to do as they please and reunite as an even better couple.
As for the events of the third movie with Floyd, either Viva helped the brother save Floyd by stealing him back, still inside the diamond prison, or Floyd gets taken after these events.
Anyway! Thats what I have for now! Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas or questions!

TOO LATE — A. ANDERSON.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary. abby cant say she fell for you at the same pace you fell for her, but when she did, it was too late for it to matter.
mentions of blood + death | light spoilers | some angst | no gender specified | most def not proofread
note. angst is NOT my strong suit and i only got this idea because i replayed the part where she beats the shit out of ellie in the theatre basement, idk where my thoughts went after that.
word count. 2.4k
Tumblr media
you were always there for her, weren’t you? she couldn’t recall all the times when she was alone, dealing with things on her own - you were in too many memories for her to count.
when her dad died, you were there besides her when owen wasn’t, and when she called things with owen, you were there too. during her late nights when nightmares would take away her sleep and panic would settle in her chest you were always there to hold her hand and guide her through it.
if she had to put it simple, you were the light she was looking for when she was lost in the darkness. though, when she finally put it together and realized this, it was far too late.
she never fully comprehended why her heart would beat days after things stopped with owen, the same rapid beating she would have even when she was with him — it wasn’t the same she felt when she was afraid, or when she would kiss owen. it was a delightful feeling, a spark lighting up in her body whenever your hands would touch, whenever you would hug her or smile at her.
your laugh was euphoric, she was addicted and yet she couldn’t comprehend why. maybe that was the reason she ended things with owen, he just wasn’t you, but she couldn’t comprehend thinking about you like that. you were just a friend, weren’t you?
you certainly thought of her as more, the reason for you always being there for her was because of your absolute fascination with her. her eyes, her laugh, the way she would always go above and beyond for what she stood for. she was the other end of your magnet, always pulling you towards her and yet you could never seem to fully connect as you longed for.
despite that, you stayed with her. you couldn’t leave her alone, you made it clear that you loved her and cared for her whenever you got the chance, and even if she couldn’t match the same and only saw your actions as friendly, you knew she cared a lot about you too. she was grateful for you, after all these years.
you were with her when abby and the group went to jackson to get joel - though you had the same mindset about killing the man as mel, you were still with her. you were still there, as she killed the man in front of ellie, and you were still there, making eye contact with the girl as she was knocked out.
you were with her when you, abby, and manny got called up to the fob, and you went with her when she set out to get owen after finding out he went awol - begrudgingly, of course, you wanted to make sure she was safe, and owen was your friend as much as anyone else was. you couldn’t sit back and leave him for whatever hell was out there, not when you could go with abby and do something about it.
you were with her when you found owen and got caught up with some scars - you took care of them, though you couldn’t have stayed with her for long. she began to get reluctant when it came to letting you out with her, practically begging you to stay behind at the aquarium where it was safe.
it was no different this time when her reluctance got worse, yelling at you when you tried going out with her and yara to get lev after he ran off to the island for their mother. everything was crashing on her, her exchange with owen and mel separately being too much as it is, and losing sight of lev made it worse. the last thing she needed was to lose you too.
the look in your eyes were watery, her yells getting under your skin. regardless, like always, you went with her words and wished her the best of luck, demanding she get back safe and leaving her in the damp hallway alone. she couldn’t find you before she had to leave, and she did her best to push that heavy weight in her chest to the side and get what she needed done.
she would make it up to you once she got back, she silently promised you that.
she would never get to do that though, her time on the island obviously kept her preoccupied - throughout her adventures, she couldn’t have known about the girl following her tracks to act out her revenge plan.
there was no way abby could have known that ellie had killed owen and mel, and now she had you tied to a chair in that same damp room where their bodies laid.
the bruises on your body ached with every movement, the knife dug into your knee left you still so the pain couldn’t get worse. your hair was in ellie’s hand via fisthold, forcing your eyes to connect to hers. your blood on her face from when you spat in it, which had only angered her more and led to that knifes current location.
her eyes were demanding, not the same as the broken ones you had seen back in jackson that day abby killed joel - they were filled with rage, red with anger and you knew there wasn’t going to be any mercy in this for you. “i’m going to ask you one more time, where the fuck is she?”
“go fuck yourself, mel gave you that information, and you fucking killed her.” ellie’s face crinkled up in disgust towards your response and towards herself, she knew she had killed a pregnant lady, but having you in this chair with valuable information she could pry out of you was overriding those emotions.
with a grunt, she roughly pushed your head to the side, hand going down to the knife in your knee - with a quick flick of her wrist, your kneecap was popped off. your screams bounced off the walls, hitting your ears as quick as they left your mouth. “go to hell.” you sobbed, eyes squinting and glaring at her through the damp hair dangling in your face.
“no other place for me to go, bitch, but i’m not going empty handed.” she stood up and left the room and, desperately, you gathered what strength you had left to try and find a way out of the chair.
there was too much going on in your body right now, too much pain and blood pouring from your wounds. the taste of iron was heavy in your mouth and you fought to keep your eyelids open, the tips of your fingers already going cold and numb.
there wasn’t enough time for you, and you knew this. no matter what you did, you were going to die anyway. there was no trace of mercy in that girls eyes, and yet you knew that’s exactly how abby had looked when she had ellie in this same position - helpless, watching those merciless eyes take the life of someone they held dear. except, ellie didn’t have abby beaten to a bloody pulp in front of you, she had you instead.
and as if on cue, your feeble attempts to free yourself landed you on the ground, your head slamming against the cold and wet tile of the aquarium floor. you laid in blood, though you couldn’t tell if it was your own or the blood that came from the bodies of your two dead friends. the thought had your eyes watering once again and you fought the tears away with constant blinks.
there was no use crying, not anymore.
it didn’t hurt to reminisce while you had these last few moments, unbothered and not having a knife enter and leave your body in different areas since ellie wasn’t in the room to do that for you. you thought back to the moments when you met abby, met the others and all the times in between that brought the best memories you could’ve made in any life. you thought about what you could’ve done different, and the what if’s.
what would’ve been if you hadn’t walked off on abby’s reluctance. if you had been able to just give her one last hug, to feel her embrace.
the thoughts ended as the door opened and the hasty steps echoed towards you. your eyes moved away from ellie’s approaching figure to the puddle you laid on. your reflection made you chuckle, how horrible you looked with your beaten and bloody face, the swollen eye and cuts lining your cheeks.
“i don’t see what’s so funny.” ellie spat, and you finally looked up at her, eyes tracing her figure down to the pipe that she held in her hand. she brought it more towards your face as if to show it off, and you knew exactly how she was going to finish the job. “i just look like shit,” you coughed out, pausing to catch your breath through a few heavy heaves. ellie rose a brow, bringing the pipe upwards.
“i just wanted to let you know, you look like shit too.”
the sound of metal slamming against the surface echoed through the hallways, and abby’s heavy breathing along with lev’s followed in unison. they had made it back, but something seemed off, and abby knew it, there was a quick pace in her steps, the rapid sound of her heartbeat echoing in her ears from worry.
you, owen, and mel knew how to take care of yourselves. the aquarium was blocked up nice and secure, wasn’t it? even then, you guys would have the upper hand in a quarrel, wouldn’t you? alice was there to protect you as well, being the best guard dog and companion she was, right?
well, abby wasn’t too sure after that, seeing as alice was laying on the ground with a trail of blood next to her body. the weapon used to do the damage wasn’t to be found, but it already sounded the alarms in abby’s head. lev had stayed close to her, ready to help defend the pair if anything were to happen, though nothing came to his immediate alert but the tension radiating off the woman in front of him.
cautiously, abby and lev trekked through the rooms which had obviously been scavenged through, proof someone else had been here. what really set this in stone, however, was the blood pouring into the hallway from the main room.
all thoughts in abby’s mind gathered together into one possibility - that it was someone else’s blood, and you, owen, and mel had been able to defend yourselves. it had to be just that, right? with how trained you and owen were, and if anything were to have happened that either of you got hurt, mel would be there to patch you guys up.
but the make shift operating room hadn’t been touched since yara’s operation, but that shouldn’t push the idea down all the way, right? you had to be okay, right? it wasn’t a question in abby’s mind, it was a focus. you were okay, and that’s what she kept telling herself as she pushed the door open.
and like any other time she needed you, there you were, ellie’s body next to yours in a heap of unmovable flesh. you were breathing, but barely, and yet you were able to give abby that same smile you always gave her. “i’m so.. sorry abby. i couldn’t help them, im sorry.” you broke down, arms going limp and chest rising and setting rapidly with your sobs. abby looked, heart breaking at the sight of mel and owens body a few paces away from yours. she fought back the nausea, but not the tears. you were okay, you were alive and she needed to get you medical attention.
without hesitation, after collecting what little she could, she basically threw herself at you. she gathered you in her arms, examining your wounds and being careful not to push you more than your body could handle. it was apparent you had lost a lot of blood, and she couldn’t let herself postpone anymore time when it could be used to start helping you.
though, she couldn’t help the rapid whispers of, “i’m so fucking glad you’re okay,” and, “i love you.”
at least, that’s what should’ve happened, if she hadn’t opened the door to see your battered and mangled body instead. her eyes trailed to the pipe laying a few feet away, bloodied footsteps trailing out to a door on the opposite end of the room. all at once, abby’s world crashed down on her.
your body, plus the bodies of her two friends, laying cold and lifeless on the floor. “fuck…” she breathed, the nausea taking control and leaving her helpless to falling to the ground and throwing her guts up. then, the tears came. she sobbed and wailed and lev felt useless to the woman as she let her emotions go.
it was painful to watch someone who seemed so held together break, but it was understandable. lev had lost yara, and given the chance he would’ve reacted the same way if he had time, so watching abby break her barriers completely and sluggishly crawl over to your body, still attached to that damn chair, wasn’t so hard to mold into sympathy.
abby undid your ties, catching your body as it rolled over sideways, feeling how limp you were in her arms. she gathered you upwards, brushing hair out of your face and bringing a hand to wipe away the blood off your lips. your eyes were open, terrifyingly still and lacking their usual light, but they were glossed over and stared right into abby.
with a heavy sob, she took one last look into your eyes, and brought her hand to carefully close them, knowing she would never wake up to them again. knowing that the light in her dark was burnt out, and that she would have to go the rest of her days without your presence, your attentive nature, and your love.
your love, she knew, was what she was going to miss the most. she came to regret never giving it back to you, hating herself that it took a small argument to draw the promise she would do better for you, and she would never get the chance to. it was too late.
but in this moment, as she started to gather herself after lev called out for her, there was only one thing she hated more than her lack of compassion.
ellie, and she swore to you that she was going to kill that son of a bitch - it wasn’t too late for that, at least.

Say That To My Face
Pairing: Dad!Jake x female!reader
TW: mild abuse, violence, angst, fluff
Summary: Jake has always tried to set an example for his daughter but what happens when he catches her being treated like less than a princess?
Word Count:1.5k
A/N: protective dad Jake AND protective uncle Bradley? love to see it.
Tumblr media
You left the house for twenty minutes to make a quick trip to the grocery store. Twenty minutes is all it took before your teenage son calls and tells you to come home because something is happening with your daughter and her boyfriend.
At home, Jake and Bradley are watching a football game with your son Judd when they hear a door slam. Your daughter Josie has been seeing this kid, Colt, for a while and a few months ago things took a turn.
Jake had always gone out of his way to treat both of you right and show Josie how she deserves to be loved. He took her on weekly dates, always opened doors for her, and bought her chocolates and flowers for Valentine's day every year.
He worshipped her from the second she was born and somehow his worst nightmare still came true. His sweet little girl had settled for less than her worth.
In her defense, Colt had done everything right in the beginning and Jake had even liked him. That only made him feel worse to know that he had given his seal of approval. But Colt seemed like a gentleman. He always came to the door, he brought you flowers the first time you met him, and he made Josie happy. Until he didn't.
You've tried talking to her about it but at the end of the day, she's 18 years old and you can't control her. Besides, she's just like Jake, and telling her she shouldn't do something only makes her want it more.
Jake and Bradley share a look before standing and heading toward your daughter's room. They stand outside and can hear the two of them arguing over something. Jake tenses when he hears his daughter's voice raise an octave.
"Who the fuck is Emma?" She bites and Bradley stops Jake from ripping the door open.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Colt snaps back and Josie laughs.
"Do you think I'm stupid?" She asks cynically and Colt laughs bitterly.
"She's just a friend." His voice is a little too hostile for Jake's liking and it takes all of his restraint not to butt in.
"Oh," she laughs. “Thirty seconds ago you didn't know what I was talking about but now she's just a friend? Why is there a heart next to her name?" Your daughter is yelling now, and Jake feels pride swell in his chest at the fact she won't let this asshole manipulate her.
You walk in the door just in time to catch things as they escalate, your son now standing behind his dad and uncle as well. Between Jake, Bradley, and your six-foot-four quarterback son, they look like their own faction of the avengers.
Your husband shoots you a look and you already know what's going on. Your daughter has confided in you about Colt before, this doesn't come as a surprise.
Your eyes widen when you hear glass break followed by him screaming. "You're being a crazy bitch! Can you just shut the fuck up for once?!"
That's all it takes for Jake to swing the door open and you see the color drain from the kid's face. He's met with four angry faces and you can see the exact moment he regrets being born. Jake leads the pack, everyone else waiting on standby for his orders.
"You wanna say that again to my face?" His voice is deep, his southern drawl more evident than usual.
Jake's fighting days are in the past, but Judd is a different story. You see your son's hand twitch and place a gentle hand on his elbow, a silent instruction to keep himself in check.
Josie takes a step toward her father and Jake guides her to stand behind him. She looks up at Judd and you can tell they're having their own conversation with their eyes. They break eye contact after a few seconds and she moves to stand hip to hip with her brother as he places a protective arm around her shoulder.
Colt takes a step forward to try and get to your daughter and Jake blocks the doorway with his body.
"Don't even think about it." He growls and Colt freezes. He's staring past your husband, directly at Josie and you know he's trying to intimidate her. You've seen it all before, but this time it's not going to work.
You can see the anger and hatred on Colt's face and it makes your stomach turn. They have a stare down for a minute before you hear Bradley speak.
"Answer her question." He demands and the young man snaps to look at him.
"What?" He asks and Bradley stands up taller.
"Who is Emma? Is she the other girl?" He questions and Colt's silence is all the answer they need.
"You piece of shit!" Judd yells while launching toward him and much to your surprise, your husband moves so your son can get through.
"Jake!" You scold while trying to get through but Josie grabs your hand.
"Let him go, mom. This is a long time coming."
You look back at her and the pain in her eyes is enough to make you reconsider. Maybe Judd getting in a couple good blows in isn't the worst thing in the world.
You watch as your son sends Colt flying backward with an uppercut and before he can swing again, Jake stops him.
"That's enough, son. We don't kick someone when they're down. Go watch your mom and sister." He orders and your son does as he's told without any protest.
Jake walks over to the boy who's been mistreating his only daughter and kneels down to get eye-level with him.
"You have thirty seconds to get the fuck out of my house before I finish what he started." He says, his voice deathly calm.
Colt stumbles to his feet and starts trying to grab random things that he's left over and Jake stops him.
"Leave it." He instructs and the man stops to look at him. He scoffs when he sees your husband is serious and knocks his shoulder as he pushes past him. Jake lets it slide, and remains stoic as Colt stomps away.
He falters for a second to look at Josie again and your son uses his body as a shield while staring him down. Colt looks over at you and you step forward in front of both of your kids. As threatening as the three men are, nothing compares to the wrath of a mother.
"Go." You spit, your voice dripping venom. He turns on his heel and a few seconds later, the front door slams. As soon as he's gone, everyone visibly relaxes and Josie rushes forward into her father's arms.
Jake catches her with ease, smoothing her hair down as she cries into his chest.
"Shhhh," He coos. "I've got you, princess. Daddy's got you."
"I'm sorry." She cries and Jake's heart shatters in its cage.
"You have nothing to apologize for baby. It's not your fault. You couldn't have known this is how he would turn out. I'm proud of you for recognizing you deserve better and standing up for yourself." He whispers and her sobs start to subside.
Bradley squeezes your shoulder before letting himself out and Judd goes back to the living room. You watch as they stand like that for a few minutes before she pulls back and peers up at her father. Jake brushes the hair out of her eyes and leans down to kiss her forehead, just like when she was little.
"Do you want to go out for ice cream like we used to?" He asks and Josie nods eagerly. She's always been a daddy's girl and up until Colt came into the picture a year ago, Jake still took her out for weekly dinner and ice cream dates. It killed him the first time she canceled to spend time with her boyfriend instead.
"Okay, sweetpea. Get dressed and we'll go." He says softly before meeting you in the hallway and closing the door to give her privacy.
"I love you. You're an amazing father." You tell him while wrapping your arms around his neck. You lean up to give him a sweet kiss and his hands fall to rest on your waist.
"I love you too sweets. I'm so glad we have our girl back." He confides and you smile up at the sweet man before you.
"She was never gone, just lost." You say gently and he nods. Josie comes out wearing a sundress Jake bought her and he smiles.
You give her a tight hug and kiss her cheek. "Have fun, baby. I love you."
She smiles brightly and your heart swells when you realize this is the first time she's looked happy in months. "Love you too, mama."
You watch as they leave before plopping down on the couch next to Judd and he leans his head on your shoulder. You run your hand through his messy blonde hair the way you always have and he nuzzles in further. He's always been close to you and you lean over to kiss his head.
"You did good, honey. I'm proud of you." You murmur and he moves to lay his head in your lap.
"I just did what you and dad taught me. Always protect women." He mutters and you smile to yourself. The two of you settle into the couch to watch a movie and you sigh contentedly, happy that your little family is back to normal.

So I recently saw a comic on YouTube about Husk having a daughter when he was alive so now I can’t get it out of my head and now I’d like to welcome Spade and Diamond, human names are Scott and Diane
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They died some time in the late 1990’s and were born in the late 1940’s
I like to think Husk was a good father with a soft spot for kids, I am still thinking on their mother’s design but I have the backstory ready, this includes Husk being the Vietnam war.
Their life couldn’t have been more perfect if it weren’t for their dad having to leave for war and their grandmother trying to convince their mother that she could do better, but it got worse when they found her dead after being missing for weeks. (Plot twist! The Grandma killed her because if she wouldn’t leave Husk then there was only one thing left to do! JK it was a moment of sheer rage and the next thing she knew her daughter was dead in her arms, she doesn’t regret it because now she has her precious grand babies)
The only thing Husk came home to was his mother-in-law telling him to give his kids to her, she got in his head by telling him how he’d be able to care for them alone, without his wife, without their mother, so with much pain he gave them away.
They didn’t want him to do it but he told them it was for the best, they tried to hate him for it but they couldn’t, Scott was the one who ended up becoming a rebel and while his sister didn’t he got into some trouble and she had to hide him and one day someone tried to attack them and in a moment of panic she killed them forcing her to the life of crime.
Both died in a crossfire and coming to Hell they resembled their dad (and mom?), they didn’t even know he was there until they watched the new and heard about the fight with the Angels and the Hotel they’ve heard so much about, but there was no denying that they saw their dad on screen.
After seeing it they couldn’t help but go to at least SEE if he really was there. Let me tell you the amount of joy there was in that family reunion was the equal amount as seeing a family of your favorite animal, a bit shocking for everyone to find out that not only Husk was married when he was alive but had kids, but he is the type of person to randomly bring up things about their life and never bring it up again.
Both siblings like Charlie and her energy tho it is a bit much for the two, Vaggie was intimidating at first but then they began to grow a connection and BOTH sides would kill for each other.
Surprisingly they got along well with Angel Dust and they were the first to realize the love in their eyes for each other.
“Why do they make such intense eye contact?” “It’s kinda like how dad and mom did it during anniversaries…oh…” “…Oh..” “OH!”
Niffty is a bit crazy for their taste but over all they can get along with her, Diamond helps her clean.
At first they were okay with Alastor until Husk casually brought up his souls was owned by him, now they secretly hate him.
Spade is absolutely fascinated by Cherri Bomb’s bombs, and has helped her make bigger explosions and make it for farther distances.
Lucifer is basically their new grandfather who spoils them.

Wednesday Fanfic Concept - The Traumatized Time Traveler
Summary: Enid watches as her new roommate stares her down, glassy eyes wide as she offers her hand, the words "Wednesday Friday Addams," Escaping her mouth in an almost pained whisper.
Smiling brightly she grasps it, not too firmly given Wednesday looks like she might be bowled over by a stiff breeze and she cheerily greets her.
"I'm so glad you're here Wednesday, I'm Enid asiménio oíko Sinclair."
Her gaze flickered to the adults and she could only wonder...
Why were they giving Wednesday such shocked stares?
Concept:
Wednesday failed. Everyone died, even if Crackstone was killed there was no one left to celebrate just a mass of cooling corpses beneath the Blood Moon.
Goody, uses a back up plan involving all the energy from the recently dead Outcasts, the forests she cursed and Blood Moon to send Wednesday back.
But this means she is no longer around and Wednesday... Well the experience has kind of broken her. What's more the story is told entirely from the outsider point of view of other characters.
Her confidence has basically been destroyed by having been played so deeply and failed so terribly. She's being eaten alive by guilt from the past life and by her indecision born of trauma in this new life.
She believes she will go insane, possibly soon because she has lost access to her ancestors. She is suffering ghost pains for wounds she never got specifically in her hand, stomach and head, which can be debilitating.
Let alone the unwilling mutism which emerges when she feels overwhelmed, or the stray panic attacks and shut downs when confronted by people like Tyler or Thornhill.
Wednesday knows who the enemy is and what their plan is, but she's so fractured that anytime she tries to take action she starts shutting down.
Worse still she takes all of this to be curses so even the stuff that psychologically or medication could help with is off the table at first.
From Enid's perspective her roommate is just like, this extremely delicate and not very expressive psychic who she becomes incredibly protective of from like minute 1.
Thing is trying to decode how or why Wednesday suffered such a violent shift in personality. He believes its visions but can that alone explain it?
Also Wednesday's trauma doesn't only manifest in her being more fragile.
I have this idea in mind where after her first therapy session (Which goes better) Weems tries to take her out for coffee to bond. She does not grasp how desperately Wednesday wants to avoid this until she was briefly separated from her and Wednesday either shuts down or legs it to the car when confronted by Tyler and his dad.
Cue Wednesday returning to her empty rom room and having a world class destructive meltdown. One where she destroys a ton of her own possessions in a rage before collapsing when Enid finds her, falling into a panic attack at the thought of her leaving,
Enid ends up having to coax her through it with Kinbott on the phone before basically keeping Wednesday snuggled in her lap for the next few hours. Which also involves a lot of self loathing spilling out as she vents about how "Broken" and "Not meant to be this way" she is.
Some other factors include:
Enid being set off by Thornhill early on cos the woman is insistent on barging into their room to "Greet Wednesday" despite Enid telling her she's gone to bed & generally being kind of pushy.
This ad her discussion with Thing once Thornhill has been harried out of the room and forced to give them both detentions before Wednesday fell asleep again, reminds Enid of some near forgotten history with the teacher.
Namely of she and Thornhill having once been very close but going past her boundaries with stuff like, "Maybe I can help you wolf out?" only to grow very distant when Enid said she had to contact her pack elders to discuss any medical treatments.
Basically, Enid was Thornhills first pick for "Pet monster" but while Enid lacked a good support network in family she has a strong sense of cultural loyalty to the pack & is subtly leery of humans.
The West Wolf Packs also did not approve of some human pushing in on one of theirs. Weems obscured it as mere cultural ignorance and the diverse cultural and psychological developments of Outcasts mean the grooming attempts were not quite picked up on.
Rowan probably hangs around longer as a threat or maybe avoids death, which only enchances ENid's protectiveness and presents a constant underlying danger.
Xavier's also much worse here because Wednesday isn't outright hostile to him thanks to the trauma and her guilt. Thus he feels that the only thing keeping him & Wednesday apart is Enid + Yoko/Bianca when Enid's not around.
Weems and the Addams do try to intervene and speculate on why Wednesday changed so much, most think some kind of traumatic vision response.
Morticia: We grew so worried that there was hushed talk of seeking to cancel her arrival at Nevermore and seek some other deal with the courts. But when Wednesday heard our concern it was like it lit a fire in her little black heart again she raged at being treated so delicately. I had hoped this a passing thing because of that, but it seems the wound is deeper than I realized.
Chapters:
I have more chapters in mind for this but in broad strokes:
Chapter 1: Enid is very excited if a touch nervous to meet her new roomie & find Wednesday to be a fragile and shy girl who needs space from crowds during the tour. They communicate by sign for a bit and Enid gets a version of the Piranha story and promises to set the record on Wednesday straight with her just protecting family and not killing. Wednesday is also subtly clingy and clearly very tried.
Enid skips the rest of class to help Wednesday set up their room, and discovers her shaking hand and helps sooth it thanks to her own nerve endings being unique due to the claws. Wednesday has an early night but Thornhill pushes in (Acting off outdated info on Wednesday's personality) and tries to make her feel 'special'
This only serves to panic Wednesday and she's borderline forced out of the room by Enid. She ends up giving her detention which does make Wednesday act, demanding she have one too. Thornhill plans to use said detention to try 'bonding stage 2' and agrees. Wednesday is coaxed back to sleep then Enid finds Thing and they chat and agree Thornhill feels sketchy.
Chapter 2: Wednesday's sleep is obviously quite troubled so even with an early night she doesn't seem super rested. But she joins Enid for breakfast and exchanges class info with Yoko & Divina who subtly agree to keep an eye on her in classes Enid does not share.
Enid needs to leave to speak with Weems and manages to basically char the principle into letting them off detention by being very careful with her words. This being one of the reasons Weems felt Enid would be a good room mate for Wednesday too.
While this was happening however Xavier approached Wednesday with his little spider drawing. Divina & Yoko's pre-existing relationship and Wednesday's seeming acceptance made them at first allow it. But it became clear he was making her uncomfortable and getting way to into her space and ignoring their attempts to make him leave.
Then Enid returns and jams her claws into the spider and in swiping the sketchpad off the table places her other claws at Xavier's throat moments before he could start properly yelling.
"Oh sorry!" Her voice is stretched thin like a dying man's scream, "I was trying to swat an uninvited pest." Her lips pull back unnaturally far revealing every pointed fang, "Want to give me a fleshier target?"
Suffice to say Xavier pisses off, but will return to continue being awful. Enid is worried she scared Wednesday but she instead the girl seems very relieve.
There is actually still a fencing match with Bianca and it actually goes on for awhile. Wednesday gets the first round (Thanks to knowing how Bianca will move) But Bianca picks up on the fact Wednesday was not reading her moves & goes full chaotic, and gets the second point. Then they fuel for the third for awhile before Bianca wins and they go off to wash off.
While in the showers though Bianca finds Wednesday's ghost pains playing up though they are not the reason for her loss but we see they confuse and distress her a lot and that she thinks they are a curse not trauma. Bianca is very much not hostile to Wednesday in this who is intern not hostile.
Chapter 3: Wednesday's therapy session with Kinbott goes better than canon. Her guilt over the woman's death does make her talk a little. Plus the negative reputation of Outcasts compounded with the circumstances of the attack (Pugsley) and Wednesday's delicate disposition lead Kinbott to think the reports were all exaggerating her behavior.
Weems takes her to the Weathervane and Wednesday struggles to speak to protest. Because Weems is there the pilgrim boys are not an issue. However Tyler gets a call to the Weathervane from Thornhill as ;apparently; Weems's phone is not working.
He uses this to try and approach Wednesday about a 'rumor' ad then his dad arrives to be all aggressive and posturing. Weems returns to either escort a near catatonic Wednesday out or to find she is basically huddled up in the car outside.
Wednesday returns to her room and has the ensuing meltdown with Weems calling Kinbott for advice. Enid forces her way in and terrified of Enid leaving her Wednesday both starts crying and having a panic attack. After that was soothed and it was promised Galpin would be kept far away from her (With Weems promising to look into his 'nonsense claims) Wednesday stays with Enid and gets the first good nights sleep she had in awhile.
They also have a little talk with Wednesday feeling worthless because she "Cannot do what she needs to" and Enid assuring her she doesn't need to do anything to deserve love. Which Wednesday returns regarding her transformation. Suffice to say, Enid s very adoring of her.
Also Rowan has likely made at least one murder attempt at this point.
Chapter 4: The school day goes well save for some 'accidents' and Wednesday has so far managed to avoid Thornhill who has been updated on Wednesday's disposition and is trying to re-calculate her strategy.
Wednesday also joins the Hummers and is very, very insistent Eugene never enter the forest alone. EVER.
The main focus is actually the harvest festival and cos she slept well Wednesday is closer to normal though be it still clingy with Enid and trying to be a bit more communicative with Yoko & Divina too.
Wednesday: Why does a town without farms have a harvest festival?
Enid: Oh I know this one! Basically, about 200 years ago, the land across the rver where Nevermore is built came ot life. Within a few weeks the forests had grown devouring fields and houses.
Divina: Naturally Outcasts were blamed, as though the land obeys our every whim.
Yoko: Though it could have been some ancient curse coming to life, or just the earth waking up. My Sire hints at this stuff but I won't know till I ascend.
Enid: Yhe point is, the town lost most of its farms and a collection of Outcasts with wealth bought the land, warded it and built Nevermore. Since then Jericho had to move away from farming and into other stuff, like tourist attractions and big game hunting.
Wednesday: I see... (Takes bite of hot dog) A rather apt microcosm of Americas evolution into a theme park dedicated to itself then.
All three laugh.
Tyler shows up again to try and give Wednesday a police report but gets chased off by the girls, but Wednesday 'has' a vision it was a police file about her father
They go om the Ferris wheel while Weems goes to speak with Galpin and there's some talked of calling Galpin with a false tip to see if he is obsessed with Wednesday's dad.
Small town cop is super bigggoted and has an agenda is much easier for them to buy than a monster murdering a guy they saw being alive. Rowan may make some attempts but does not succeed but there's definitely a sense Wednesday is in danger. Bianca may help.
Chapter 5: I have less clear ideas on this, but Wednesday's sessions with Kinbott continue. The general consensus is that Tyler's dad has some beef with Wednesday's. Also there is some subtle guiding towards investigating certain events that will be plot relevant later.
Also Wednesday helps the team with the Po-Cup perhaps. Not sure if she goes ahead t lay traps, or Yoko is snuck onto the island, or if Wednesday just alters the ship. Though I do love the idea of Enid fist fighting a Siren underwater and winning. Also Rowan may use this for another attempt.
After that things grow a bit more vague, hence my not writing it.
Note:
One thing I like exploring is Outcasts actually being, ya know, hated and feared and how this would inform and influence even perky characters like Enid.
Also Wednesday low key may fear Enid likes this version of her better. But does also know how far Enid went for her in the original timeline.
Though yeah she is low key dependent on Enid who doesn't quite realize it or know how to fix it and just wants to protect her.

Spring is the time of the year when kids are starting school, well, at least in Korea. And there wasn't any exception for Haru, your and Jaehyun's daughter, she is starting her very first day of school tomorrow but there was a problem. You were in a business trip outside and your husband had to take care of it.
Jaehyun told you to not worry, but something inside you wasn't that trusting. He was a great dad and loved her a lot so why it would be that difficult. Haru on the other side, was naughty, disobedient, and those things. Where she could have gotten that personality? Well from you, of course, although you have now matured. When Jaehyun and you met, you two were still in high school having the same age so that was like 12 years ago maybe but didn't start dating until 18 years old, he always thought you were extremely extroverted, and maybe all your charisma was something he is attracted to. All your friends around never thought of you two having such a long relationship and now you guys are married and have a kid.
''Daddy, when is mommy coming home?'' She asked her father who was helping her take a bath for her first day at school, ''Do you miss her a lot baby?'' she nodded, bubble bath time was her favorite thing. After a long day of playing and getting dirty, it was like her spa time, ''Will you stay with me at school?'' She asked again, ''Well, there will be teachers who can help you, daddy won't be with you'' Oh he shouldn't have said that. Haru when she heard the words her father said started making her cry out loud, she was very clingy and it was very hard to make her stop crying. The dad tried to calm her by telling her she'll be alright but it was too late, Haru then started to splash the water out of anger, and it made Jaehyun's clothes get wet. He didn't know what to do anymore so he ran to get his phone and facetime you hoping that you were out of the plane already, luckily you were in the hotel so it was good.
''Heyy, what's going on there honey?'' You asked because of your daughter's screams and cries. ''Can you try to relax her, I just said that she would be alone tomorrow at school'' It was very obvious your husband didn't even know how this ended up, he thought he would have everything in control even if you weren't. He carefully put the phone in front of his daughter trying to not make contact with the water, ''Mommy, daddy won't be with me tomorrow he's a bad person'' She said while shedding tears, ''Hey baby, do you know why he won't be with you?'' Haru shook her head and relaxed a little more than she was. ''do you have fun with Aeyoung? (A/n: not my own multiverse here LMAO) If you do that's because you two are friends and when you are there you have to learn how to make more friends''.
''But I don't know how to'' She stopped crying trying to understand what it meant, ''That's why the teachers will be there not us, the teachers are professionals'' Haru wasn't crying anymore but it was obvious how much she did because of the swelling eyes and red cheeks. Jaehyun finished washing her and dried her, while he was blow drying his daughter's hair she asked something. ''Dad, I don't think I want to go tomorrow'' she said after sobbing for a while because her father didn't notice before. He was already exhausted because it was his wife that usually took care of Haru's bath time, every time he closed his eyes he swears he would fall asleep immediately.
''But you have to, okay baby?'' And Haru nodded. After Jaehyun put her in bed and kissed her forehead he went to the master room and lay on the bed aggressively and without even noticing he fell asleep forgetting to put an alarm...
Jaehyun woke up with someone calling him, it was you and why would you call him it was probably 1AM for you. His morning voice answered lazily ''Hello?'' he said with his eyes still closed as he was processing everything. ''Hey, Jeong Jaehyun!! Why aren't you sending Haru to school?'' Then he opened his eyes, his daughter's first day at school. Jaehyun never ran so fast to her room, ''Haru, wake up, quickly'' he said but saw that there wasn't anyone in the room he ran to all the places and when he reached the bathroom there was she, Haru was brushing he teeth, but her clothes and hair were still the same. ''Let me do your hair meanwhile okay?'' she nodded, Jaehyun hurried up with the process so it wasn't the best looking hair he could do. After it he told her to change up while he cooks breakfast, then he remembered that there wasn't anything in the fridge, that's right, they didn't do the groceries.
Not knowing what to do he just took out some leftover curry from yesterday's dinner and heated it up in the microwave, it wasn't the best breakfast but at least it feeds someone. Haru went to the kitchen wondering what would she be eating, it was curry, she wasn't the type of person who is eating the same thing over again so she wasn't that excited. ''Is that breakfast?'' ''Yes baby now eat or we will be later than we are'' She didn't have any options and just eat it, meanwhile, Jaehyun went to change his clothes, brushed his teeth and washed his face. When he went to check on Haru she was already waiting to leave, ''Let's go'' It was 8:20AM and school started 20 minutes ago, Jaehyun carried his daughter in his arms and ran carefully but quickly towards the school which was 8 minutes from their house.
Haru was having a lot of fun in his dad's arms, on the other hand, Jaehyun was kinda struggling. When finally arrived he quickly went inside if there was any teacher nearby to take Haru to her classroom, and luckily there was. ''excuse me are you Mr. Jeong?'' ''Oh yes, yes sorry if we are a bit late'' he put Haru down so the teacher could take her. ''I mean you were half an hour late but don't worry, say goodbye to your daddy'' the teacher made Haru wave her hand to Jaehyun. After he left the building it was as if his mission was complete, the very first day wasn't what he expected after all.

A small collection of KOTLC things Shannon told me at 3am
I promise she told me guys, this is totally legit
Dex Dizznee isn’t actually blonde but ginger, he gets his hair color from his dad. The three triplets all have strawberry blonde hair like their mom. His hair is also curly but like, loosely curly, and it’s really dry from all the shit he ‘experiments’ on it with.
Fitz Vacker once accidentally stumbled into a musical while in the human world and now absolutely loves musical songs. His favorite is Phantom of the Opera. It wasn’t like Alden was constantly watching him in the human world so he’d sometimes just sneak into theaters to listen and watch the shows.
Maruca Chebota is the most middle child ever. She has an older and a younger brother, but also another older cousin (Wylie) and two younger cousins. She’s even in the middle in terms of that, which is ironic because her mom is also the middle child between her two siblings.
Terik is Talentless, but he’s got basically a watered-down version of Empathy from his parents, who were both incredibly powerful Empaths who had been tasked with making sure Elves turned into myth for humans. He’s been scamming the whole Elven society for centuries and isn’t about to stop now.
Alina’s family was involved in a scandal when she was very young that resulted in them being cast out from the Nobility and their birth funds being revoked, though they were allowed to remain in Talentless cities. She decided to pursue Alden primarily for his family name - and the fact that she would up being one of the first people on his Match list was just the cherry on top. It made it even worse when he decided to marry Della instead, though at that point it was later enough she could detach herself from her family anyway.
Sophie Foster’s human family were anti-vaxx, Protestant, and Republican. Sophie was always a bit too busy trying to manage her telepathy to notice much about their political stances. Amy is growing to be significantly more liberal and had began to openly argue with them before everything in Nightfall happened.
Alina is Fitz’s biological mother. After Alvar was born and already not shaping up into the son Alden wanted by age 11, she used his desperation to Beguile him into having a child with her. When Alden realized what she’d done he did his best to cut all contact with her, though he did take Fitz, something with both Alina and Della resented. Alvar knew about this, which is why he dislikes Fitz so much while still loving his younger sister, Biana.
Livvy Soden is a triple agent, working in the Black Swan as a spy for the Neverseen as a spy for the Black Swan. No one is quite sure what her intentions are any more.
Wylie Endal has his own group of friends, who are all in their early 20s, and who love making fun of him for being forced to hang out with a bunch of teenagers. His best friend among them is Tanho, who’s Talentless, and was kicked out of his house at age 15 as a result after an abusive childhood. He stayed with Wylie and Tiergan for a few months after while trying to sort himself out, and is a large part of the reason why Wylie is now as observant and skeptical as he is.
Stina Heks isn’t actually an Empath, she’s a Mesmer, but a weak one. Not that she knows it.
It’s not actually Fitz who has the Nobility attitude towards humans, as in condescending and ignorant, though it does seem that way - he spent far too much time in the human world to not pick up on some of the good and interesting parts of humanity as well. It’s Biana, who spent most of her childhood being raised in a fairly isolated group of Elves who all had huge superiority complexes towards other species.
Ruewen is Edaline and Juline’s last names. Juline took Kesler’s last name to finally shut up her parents, who were harping on about how Kesler was using her for her family.
Grady Ruewen’s mother disappeared soon after he manifested as a Mesmer at age 12, resulting in a huge amount of people blaming him for it and his family, already in a precarious social position, to get hit even harder. Taking Edaline’s last name allowed him to entirely reform himself to a new person to the outside world. At least, until Jolie died.
Jolie Ruewen was a part of the Elven equivalent of a punk rock band, which tends to have a slightly more melodious (though still loud and chaotic) sound than human rock. Brant was their singer, and they had their first kiss during a concert, to excite the crowd even more. They decided they liked it and just kept doing it even off stage.
The movement began a few decades earlier, after an illegal trip to the human realm gave some twenty year old elves the idea to begin making their own instruments to try and mimic the sounds they found in the human world.
Tam and Linh Song grew up purposefully separated from each other, with Tam mainly spending time with their Dad and Linh their mom. As a result, Linh developed a love of painting, as it’s some of the only pleasant times she can recall with her mother, and Tam developed a hatred of economics and desk chairs.
Keefe Sencen and Linh Song are really good friends. No one else is aware of this. They also regularly vandalize council buildings.
Despite what certain artists and books will tell you, Elven houses are not made of crystal. They’re based on Ancient architecture, mainly using stone or wood or both, and have a wide variety of designs and patterns depending on where you go.
Most Elves do live in populated cities. Rimshire is a small-ish house located on the outskirts of Mysterium, not as close to the more densely populated parts of the city, but still with a lot of people. However, as Nobility usually do love in isolated, grand estates, it took a bit for Juline to get used to it. As Kesler grew up in a much smaller house with five siblings, he had the opposite experience.
Marella Redek’s favorite aunt is a Neverseen member. Marella is a Black Swan member. They have fought each other before and the next day hugged at a family gathering. Neither are aware of this.
Fitz Vacker talks to his stuffed animals. He has more than one - he has Mr Snuggles, obviously, but also Biana gave him one during Flashback, and Keefe made him one before he left for the Neverseen the first time. They all give different advice. Mr Snuggles sounds like Tiergan, the one Biana gave him sounds like Alvar, and the one Keefe made him sounds like Keefe.
Rayni Aria (Glimmer) was lying about her entire backstory in Stellarlune. Tam is the only one who knows what actually happened to her.
Rayni and Linh eventually grow to tolerate each other, if for Tam’s sake only. Linh can’t deal with having to share the one person she’d always thought would put her first (nevermind if he always would anyway); Rayni sees Linh’s hostility and automatically returns it with her own. As they get used to each other, they can be in a room without arguing or passive aggressively insulting each other.
Despite this, they’re actually very similar people, which makes them both even angrier. Linh can’t even make fun of how he acted with Keefe anymore now because of how she and Rayni act.
The reason Bronte is so mad at Fintan is that he found out that Fintan was dating JRR Tolkien at the same time as they were secretly dating (as to avoid being kicked out from the Council). Fintan was under the mistaken impression Bronte was also dating him, Bronte had misspoken and said he was ‘dating’ Tolkien instead of ‘rating’ Tolkien (as in, his books).
Fitz and Dex are in love, the Vackers are Desi, and Fintan has a flat ass. This is common knowledge though.

...but nobody came.
Man. So many characters in these games have major abandonment issues.
Flowey with "nobody came", which the Echo Flower dialogue confirms is him speaking from experience, feeling like Toriel forgot all about him, or worse, was glad to be rid of him.
Spade King saying the Lightners left the Darkners behind and forgot all about them.
Jevil being locked up and having no one to play with.
Spamton saying he was left to rot at the bottom of a dumpster.
Susie telling Kris in the "New Girl" post that someday someone would take Kris away and Toriel would forget all about them, or even be glad to be rid of them. Susie is definitely transferring her experiences onto Kris.
We don't know what Kris said to Susie in "New Girl", but one theory is "I know," or "Good." While this is only a fan theory (and one I don't agree with), it is worth noting that "...but nobody came" also appears in Snowgrave Spamton Neo whenever Kris calls for help.
Gaster was lost in the void, shattered across space and time. And now no one remembers him, except for his followers, who can't even speak about him directly without fear. (I'm including Jevil and Spamton as Gaster followers- they certainly came in contact with him.) This is just my own headcanon, but I often imagine Gaster waking up in the void, and his first thoughts being, "Where am I? It's so dark, and so cold," screaming, crying, begging for help... but nobody came.
For each of these characters, even if the exact dialogue isn't used, they all have an aura about them of "...but nobody came." All of them have at some point felt alone, trapped, and helpless, and nobody came to their rescue. Granted, this hasn't been positively confirmed for Susie, but given that she almost quotes Flowey when she screams at Kris, it's easy to deduce that she also had a "...but nobody came" time in her life.
And so many other characters face rejection or abandonment, as well. Toriel divorced Asgore in both timelines, leaving him desperate to see his children and his wife again. Shyren lost her voice when Shyra fell down. Maddie and Mettaton both ran off to fuse with their own bodies, leaving Napstablook alone. No one can remember Ruins Dummy's name. Mettaton was Alphys' friend until he became a big... heh, sorry, I almost said "big shot" (fitting, tho, isn't it?). So Alphys felt abandoned until she met Undyne... and then if you kill Undyne, Alphys disappears, apparently having committed suicide. Snowy left home because his mother fell down and his father hated his jokes, so Snowy felt abandoned. Ralsei is described as "the lonely prince." All of the Darkners feel abandoned by the Lightners. Queen divorced Spade King because he neglected her. Spade King pushes Lancer away- or, possibly, outright abuses him- so Lancer calls Rouxls his "Lesser Dad," even though Rouxls largely pushes him away, as well. Papyrus...
Papyrus...
"Forgettable." Still striving for a double-digit follower count on Undernet. Can't get into the Royal Guard. Works himself to the bone but can't get any recognition, much less a friend. May have "left home due to happiness." And most important, has a brother who is willing to avenge his death.
Everyone loves Papyrus. Everyone knows his name. More people talk about Papyrus than about his brother. holidaygirl1225 is asking everyone if they know how to find his egg again. Undyne is Papyrus' best friend. Alphys thinks his posts on Undernet are hilarious. The biggest differences in the ending for neutral runs fixate on whether you spared him or killed him. He even becomes king if he's the only one left alive. Why does Chara call him "Forgettable"? Why does he not think he has any friends? It's honestly a bit like Susie saying, "Why would anybody really wanna be my friend, anyway?" Except that he never lets himself say exactly that- but his whole attitude of "I can't make any friends, I have to work hard for people to like me" says it all.
It's like he does have an abandonment issue, but he's not giving in to it. Did he... Was he... was sans the only one who ever came when he called? Is that why these two are inseparable?
Much as I would like to leave this essay on this dramatic note about everyone's favorite skeleton, I also want to mention Dess. Most people believe that Dess is the one singing, "Don't forget, I'm with you in the dark." This feels like the exact opposite of "...but nobody came." How is she holding onto hope? Even though a lot of people miss her, nobody's looking for her anymore. They've all moved on. All except... her sister. Can Dess see Noelle searching for her? Who exactly is with Dess in the dark, anyway? The player, I presume, but could it be someone else?

(AU/OC) AITA for killing my daughter’s girlfriend?
I (55M physically, 107M immortally) am a vampire. I was turned a few years before my daughter (25F physically, 47F immortally) was born, so she was born a vampire. I raised my daughter as a single dad and it was just her and me, and I wouldn’t ask for it to be any other way. I love my daughter, she’s my world.
This all started a few months ago. My daughter found out that I drink human blood and she got upset for some reason, even after I explained that drinking animal blood makes us weaker. I have to be as strong as possible to protect her if danger comes. However, she didn’t seem to understand. She called me a murderer and said she didn’t want to see me again, so she moved out and cut off contact with me. I have missed her every second of every day since then.
Long story short, I end up meeting this human, we’ll call her S (21F) and I find out that she’s dating my daughter. I end up finding out where my daughter is currently living through her (the details aren’t important). I obviously hate everything about this. My daughter isn’t talking to me and now she has a girlfriend? It’s like S was trying to steal my daughter away from me or something. And not to mention, S is annoying as hell.
I’d like to clarify that I am not homophobic and this has nothing to do with my daughter being gay. My own partner is non-binary. I have always loved my lesbian daughter. I don’t care that she’s dating a girl, I just hate S. And my hatred for S has nothing to do with her being gay.
Anyways, me and my partner (we weren’t dating at the time this happened but they’re my current partner) were out hunting one day and right after we make the kill, we discover that S was hiding in the trees and had seen it! I had already hated S, but the fact that she’s seen me technically commit a crime was even worse. So I attempted to kill her. This bitch takes out a wooden stake and stabs me in the stomach! It turns out that she’s a VAMPIRE HUNTER! Not a very good one, clearly, since she didn’t kill me and she has no idea her girlfriend is a vampire, but whatever.
So obviously I wanted to warn my daughter that her girlfriend is a vampire hunter. But my daughter took S’s side! Apparently she already knew that S is a hunter and was just… fine with it?! My daughter acts like she can change S or something! She seemed CONVINCED that S wouldn’t hurt her, that S would go against her training for her.
Obviously, my daughter is insane. This naivety could cost my daughter her life. So I took matters into my own hands. I killed S to protect my daughter, so that my daughter would be safe. I didn’t want her near a hunter.
My daughter was upset and said she hated me. Whatever. She can hate me as long as she’s safe. I love her enough to keep her safe no matter what has to be done.
A few weeks later, my daughter comes to me asking for help training a fledgling vampire, and I realize that she turned S into a vampire instead of just letting her die. I was pissed, clearly. Being turned was one of the worst things to happen to me and I would never wish it on someone else, even with as much as I hate S. And S comes from a whole family of vampire hunters who she can’t go back to now that she’s a vampire.
Despite this, I did try to help S learn and control her new vampire abilities, but it didn’t work because S is terrified of me and wouldn’t stop cowering in fear 🙄 and she bit me when I tried to pick her up in bat form! My daughter fired me from the teaching position and my partner started helping instead.
Now my partner and S are friends, and my daughter is still defending S, and everybody seems to love S except for me. S is terrified of me and sees me as some horrific monster. And S is the reason why my daughter won’t come back home! I don’t see why I have to like S.
I recently switched to drinking animal blood so that my daughter will talk to me again, but my daughter and my partner keep trying to make me and S get along, and S still hates me for killing her.
So, AITA?

MLB - Black Swan AU
Many of us are unhappy about how the Agreste household was written and shown. Personally, I dislike how Emilie was said to be a Saint and how she and Amelie were sold as "Best Moms material" while looking at canon facts, it was obviously untrue! There are thankfully plenty of AUs that point this out, I am thinking especially about the "Dad Villain AU" by @bigfatbreak right now (love it <3 )
As for this AU, I chose to do what I did with many aspects of the show in my "Miraculous Team AU": pick what Canon said were true facts and actually make them true. Here are the elements I picked:
Emilie is a good person and a good mother
Gabriel is redeemable and truly loves his son
the Agreste household was stricken by tragedy
Nathalie couldn't have done much more than she did
Felix is a victim that almost became a villain but stopped before it was too late
Now, on with the concept of Black Swan AU!
PART 1
Tumblr media
GIF publié par ouiladybug
Emilie and Amelie were born into a prestigious and filthy rich family, the Graham-de-Vanilly. The parents want their twin daughters to be "perfect" at all costs and put monstrous pressure on them.
Emilie hated the life her parents wanted for her, so she decided to emancipate as soon as she could. She became friends with people like her, people her parents called "lecherous" and a "group of misfits" (because they are all LGBTQ+ and some are outcasts). Emilie managed to build her life again by breaking away from her parents. She married Gabriel who had no fortune and no name, and despite their struggles, the two were happy and lived their lives fully.
Meanwhile, Amelie never had the courage or will to rebel. In a way, she found it easier to stay obedient and follow blindly her parents' directions. While she still cared for Emilie, the way her parents kept comparing them and calling her "the good twin", and "a good girl" was slowly becoming addictive and reaching her, making her believe she was indeed better than her sister, deep down. However, her life took a tragic turn after she married. Her husband was an abusive man, and no matter how hard she tried, he was never satisfied.
Probably due to all the stress and abuse, Amelie could not have a child. And because of that, her husband became worse; even her parents took his side and called her unworthy.
Emilie got more and more worried for her sister, whom she had kept contact with. She offered her sister to come live with them, but Amelie refused, she was afraid of divorcing, of disappointing her parents even more. But she agreed to spend some time at her twin's house. Part of Amelie was grateful towards Emilie, but she couldn't help envying what her sister had. Emilie and Gabriel were happily married, and the two had managed to make their own fortune; her only solace was that they had no children, so she thought it meant that Emilie had trouble conceiving too.
After many discussions, Gabriel and Emilie agreed to introduce Tomoe to Amelie. They knew Tomoe had the Peacock Miraculous and had been training to create a child with it, so they thought that maybe it would help Amelie if she kept refusing to leave her husband.
Indeed, Tomoe had managed to get "pregnant", but she lost her sight doing so. The Miraculous was now unstable, so Tomoe warned Amelie about using it. Amelie still took it, even if she was hesitant; she didn't want to become disabled and thus "useless" afterwards.
Back at the Agreste house, Amelie saw a doctor walking out and, morbidly curious, she went and eavesdropped on her sister and brother-in-law's conversation. When she heard that it had just been confirmed to them that Emilie was pregnant, something snapped in her. The fact that they hadn't even planned to have a kid, it just happened, only added salt to the wound. Amelie's repressed anger started to boil, and she became even more bitterly jealous of her sister. How unfair was that? She was the good daughter! So why was Emilie the happy one? Why was her sister getting everything Amelie ever dreamt of?!
Refusing to lose to her sister, Amelie decided to use the Miraculous of the Peacock. But instead of using it herself, she gave it to her husband so he would suffer any consequences, not her. To her great (hidden) joy, his health started deteriorating as her pregnancy got to term. Felix was born, and Amelie was finally praised for birthing a healthy baby boy.
Wishing to get rid of any evidence in case her husband were to die, Amelie decided to give the Miraculous to Emilie, since this kind of magic object was one of her passion. On the day Amelie went to visit Emile with Felix to drop the Miraculous, she saw Adrien for the first time. Then her jealousy erupted like a volcano, driving her to madness.
Adrien felt so real, contrary to Felix who was way too calm and unmoving. Gabriel was a loving husband and father, contrary to Colt... Emilie had everything while she had nothing. It didn't feel right, it wasn't the right order of things! Amelie was the good daughter, she was meant to be rewarded for that!!
Insane with rage, Amelie transformed and used the twin rings to create sentimonsters; the sentis hypnotized both Emilie and Gabriel so Amelie could switch places with her sister. Emilie, now convinced she was Amelie, went to London with Felix while Amelie took her place in the Agreste household.
In the following years, Amelie made herself the centre of Gabriel and Adrien's world. Adrien was easy to manipulate because he was a child and couldn't remember his real mother at all. However, Gabriel was more difficult; she especially got scared when Emilie came back to visit them with Felix. The two lovers almost broke out of her grip. Amelie had to use the Peacock powers to keep the hypnosis working, not realizing she was getting ill because of the damaged Miraculous until it was too late. She turned Emilie and Gabriel against each other, going harder on Gabriel so he would despise - even hate - his "sister-in-law".
Amelie's hold on Gabriel had become so strong that she didn't even need to use the Miraculous at some point, she had reached her goal. Gabriel was head-over-heels for "her", she was his muse and relished seeing all the paintings and statues of herself around the house; and Adrien loved his "mother" dearly, more than his father. Neither Adrien or Gabriel knew that "Emilie" was keeping them apart, abusing them whilst making Gabriel the strict parent figure. And when she understood she was dying, Amelie made Gabriel swear to bring her back, manipulating him until she fell into a coma.
Meanwhile, Emile held on as Amelie, doing her best to survive and raise the one she believed was her son and cherished him. And when Colt died, she didn't grieve him long. She was more focused on her child, wishing to give him full agency and freedom of will.
Most of the following events stay the same, until "Amelie" and Felix come to visit on "Emilie's day of disappearance anniversary". "Amelie" asked for the twin rings, pointing out that it was a family treasure and that she never understood why her sister, who had left the family decades ago, took them with her and even used them as wedding rings. Gabriel, of course, got angry in answer and refused to give them back; Felix, wishing to make his mother happy, went with his plan to make a mess. "Amelie" was very defensive of her son in front of Gabriel, but she still chastised him when she heard what happened. Felix still snaffled Gabriel's ring in the end and gave it to his mother.
From then on, "Amelie" started to have strange memories resurfacing.

Inspo: Balmorhee - Remembrance
Pairing: Ellie Williams x Miller!Fem!reader
Requested - 🚨🦇
Summary: Life was a cruel reality that someone like you would be taken by sooner or later.
Tumblr media
Warnings: Angst and some pretty graphic stuff.
Words 2738
She was too afraid to wake up. She hadn’t seen you seem this relaxed in a long time. She'd missed the sight of the calm breaths that left you, your body relaxed against her.
Ellie couldn’t remember the last time she was able to experience this whenever she woke up in the middle the of night. It was either you were gone, riding out on a patrol with Jesse or Joel. Or you had made your way back inside Joel’s house, leaving the auburn-haired girl lonely. Yearning for the warmth you so humbly provided. These moments were memorable and Ellie was glad she got to have them with you.
She traced shapes into your back amongst the many scars that were forever burned into your flesh. Finding her own relaxation of being able to see and experience this moment. Unable to obtain it outside of this little hut she had out back of Joel’s house. You’d reassured her that if anyone had something bad to say about your guys’ relationship, you would surely make them choke on their teeth. But Ellie wasn’t sure why, she just couldn’t bring herself to be public with you. There were those lingering touches and eye contact that the two of you shared, but nothing to scream your guys’ relationship.
But it’d been like that since you two met. There had always been something there, but timing and coincidences prevented you two from ever being something. But when you turned 20 and Ellie finally turned 18, the two of you confessed all of the feelings the both of you held for one another. And if Ellie’s immunity brought you closer, the intimacy the two of you shared brought you incredibly closer. Not able to go a day without at least sharing a kiss.
“If you keep doing that, I might just have to tell my Dad I can’t do patrol today.”
A smile formed on Ellie’s lips as she retracted her hand, watching you roll over onto your back. “What’s on your mind?” You asked softly, reaching out and cupping Ellie’s cheek.
The touch was enough to make the Williams girl melt in your hold. Leaning into it and closing her eyes as she sighed lightly. Feeling your calloused thumb brush against her cheekbones. “Nothing, just gonna miss you today,” she answered. “Our patrols are so fuckin’ weirdly timed, I’m not going to get back in time to spend it with you. Tomorrow will just repeat itself.”
“Well, you wouldn’t be able to hang out with me in private since we’re watching that movie with Joel tonight, sweetheart,” you reminded with a chuckle. “But I’ll work something out with Tommy and Maria. I’m sure they would be willing to give us some days off. Then, we can stay in bed together and maybe cook.”
But before Ellie could even say a word, agree to the idea even, a knock sounded at the front door. The inevitability finally reached both of you as Ellie smiled through the disappointment. “Duty calls.”
You sighed, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to her forehead. “I’ll stay here tonight after the movie.”
Moving from the girl, you sat up and Ellie finally saw your missing left arm. The flesh burned in an attempt to cauterize the wound. The edges of the wound still showed the brutality of the cannibal's ruthless hacking of your member. She still remembers that day vividly. She remembers how you were sobbing out her name as they took that piece of you away. And it only made the memory worse when she had to hold you down while Joel took a scalding hot piece of metal to the wound to save you.
A lot of the time, Ellie blamed herself for what was taken from you. Because, for a while, you were far too exhausted and injured to do anything. And the trip to Saint Mary’s Hospital had only been worse for her as she would often wake up to the sounds of your whimpers and muffled sobs as you cried into your jacket. Those nights became harder and harder for Ellie to ever meet your gaze. Even talking to you became a struggle because of the fate she could’ve met and you nearly dying.
But for a while, she finally recovered for some years until she eventually found out about what you and Joel did at the hospital. How you murdered all those Fireflies to save her. You were quick to forgive as the two of you were on far more patrols together than her and Joel. She did give you a piece of her mind, multiple times, but it might’ve been just that that helped her forgive you for those atrocities.
“Can you hand me my prosthetic?” You asked, glancing over your shoulder from your pile of clothes. Ellie moved tiredly over to the bedside table and grabbed the prosthetic arm with a hook on it. Hand it to you, she watched you effortlessly strap it on before getting your clothes on.
Another knock sounded at the door and you grumbled in annoyance. Slipping your jacket on with a tiny bit of trouble, the hook catching some thread occasionally before you finally got it free. Zipping up your jacket and shrugging your backpack onto your shoulders, you crawled onto the bed and pressed a kiss to Ellie’s head. Already noticing how tired she was, knowing for damn sure she was going to sleep past the time she should.
“I’ll see you in a few hours, baby.” She smiled tiredly, closing her eyes as she pushed her lips out into an exaggerated pouty kiss. You chuckled, pecking her on the lips. “Love you.”
Making your way to the door, you were immediately greeted by Joel and Tommy. At first glance, they seemed to know what you were doing at Ellie’s place. Which immediately has you raise a finger, silencing them. “Don’t say a word.”
The two men chuckled, walking on either side of you as you started on your trek to the front gates. “We weren’t going to, kiddo,” Joel reassured softly, kissing the top of your head.
“We’re working in the North West  post, right?” You inquired, already having forgotten the information after the not-so-rowdy night prior. Remembering vividly how you knocked Seth on his ass for making a not-so-nice comment to Ellie.
“Maria wants up there, yes,” Tommy confirmed. “There’s been too many sightings of infected lately.”
“I say that’s better than ‘em hunters.” Joel pointed out as you nodded in agreement. But something worse awaited you outside the walls. A far fiercer entity that had been building up rage for years. And you and your father were the targets.
Tumblr media
“Joel Miller.”
The voice of a girl, who’d you only met minutes prior was drowned out by the ringing of your ears. The shotgun blast blinded your senses as you blinked rapidly. Doing your best to process the bullet wound in your side as well as your dad’s mangled leg by the shotgun round.
You had told both your uncle and father that it wasn’t a good idea to save this one girl. A day could come when saving this one girl could dictate the future. You guys save this one girl, and maybe someone far more important dies. Maybe a family, searching for help in that snowstorm could be in need of your help. That family might’ve been able to be saved if you just let this one girl die. You were playing devil’s advocate, but under the circumstances, you could guarantee both the older men wished to side with you in this situation.
A man held your arms behind your back as you lifted your head to see your Uncle laying unconscious on the ground. Turning your gaze, you found your father pressed up against the sliding doors. Two of these soldiers held him there as his eyes stayed focused on Abby.
“Why don’t you say whatever speech you’ve got rehearsed and get this over with.” The sound of your father's tone seemed like finalization. The signing of a contract coming to an end. You’d felt it the moment you crumbled to the ground from the gunshot, that was bleeding profusely through the articles of your clothing.
But you didn’t have to remember far back to try and piece the reasoning of why these people were doing this. No one hunts down two specific people for the fuck of it. There had to be a reasoning to it, and the one you came up on was Saint Mary’s Hospital.
A shaky and uncontrollable laugh filled the small room with most of the people turning their heads. Found you laughing, pure amusement on your face as you shook your head. “Oh, God. Fuck. You guys are Fireflies, huh?” You inquired, causing a few members to glance at one another. “Right, thought so. I gotta ask, who did I kill that’s got your panties in a twist, sweetheart?”
Abby slowly turned to you, that rage mounting another level as you smiled at her mockingly. “Was it your daddy?”
The instant that the question fell from your lips, the Hispanic guy walked over and punched you in the face. But that did very little to silence your laughter as you whipped your head back, moving the strands of your unkempt hair out of your face. The metallic taste of blood soaking into your tongue as Abby stood over top of you like an animal. But the attempt of intimidation had been long forgotten as you raised a brow.
“I’ll tell you what, Machoman.” You spit out some blood from your mouth, hissing as the faint sting in your stomach. “You are the least intimidating bitch I’ve ever fuckin’ seen. I mean, I’ve faced cannibals and all you’ve faced is fucking dumbells. Did your daddy drop one on you when you were younger?”
There was a steady silence, only your breathy laughs to be heard over the top of Abby’s heavy puffs of air. Hands clenched by her side before she grabbed you by the collar of your shirt and started punching you repeatedly. Each one felt like a hammer to the face as your head continued to be knocked back every time you tiredly raised it. The sound of your father’s yells filling the air coming as muffled to your ear.
Then she stopped, shoving you to the ground where you hissed in pain. Abby grabbed a golf club and instantly got to work on your father as you laid there tiredly. You don’t know how long you laid there, watching your father’s crippled body get beaten on like an animal. Only saving enough strength to stay awake and watch it all play out.
But then there was some wrestling by the door. Too exhausted to turn and see, but able to hear her voice. “You’re going to fucking die!”
Your busted-up face formed a tired smile. A choked laugh fell from your lips as the arguing with the ex-Fireflies came to a stop with them all turning to do. Still holding that same surprise as before. Ellie watched as you carefully lifted yourself up, face scrunching up as you contained a cry from the bullet wound in your side. Leaning against the small couch behind you and looking up at Abby.
“You can kill us,” you told her. “You can do whatever you’d like to our bodies. But I’ll tell you one thing, it ain’t doing shit to bring your precious daddy back.”
Abby didn’t hold back with swinging the club, hitting your square in the cheek. The blow had your mind spiralling as you panted. Face squished to the ground as blood seeped out the corner of your mouth. Eyes slowly blinking as you stared at the tiny dust bunnies on the floor. “He’s going to see you as a monster, sweet cheeks.”
A hand grabbed you by the hair, a yell slipping out past your lips as your head was raised and slammed against the ground. A large splotch of blood grew with each slam of your face as Ellie called out your name. Sobbing out pleads for them to stop this.
And when it did stop, Abby rolled you over onto your back and straddled your waist. Pressing both her large hands to your throat. Staring at your face that had blood all over it with your nose broken and cheek growing from the hit of the club.
But she could see the tears in your eyes, the unusual smile that formed on your lip as you stared right back at her. Some part of Abby had hoped that you and Joel would beg for your lives. Only now, you were going against everything she thought would happen. With your smiles, your evil laughs, and the nightmarish comments, her expectations had been broken with you standing at the forefront.
“You sure this is what your dad would’ve wanted?” You gasped out, feeling the pressure on your throat increase as your eyes started rolling back. So, in a last-ditch effort, you used your hook and stabbed it into Abby’s back. She yelled out in pain, getting off of you as you gasped for air, coughing harshly. Holding your side as a shaky cry fell from your lips.
Turning on your side, you saw Ellie’s tear-stricken face as she sniffled and sobbed out for you. But her eyes flickered to the side, a scream ripping from her lips as your vision went black.
The chirping of birds filled the warm summer air. Your eyes flickered open, instantly raising a hand in an attempt to block out the sun that blinded you. Glancing down at your side, you found only a red splotch in your clothes. No pain, no dread, just peace. Lifting your head, you saw the autumn leaves gracing the ground. A familiar dirt path greeted you. One that was left in your memories that you had long forgotten.
But it drew you in like someone was calling out for you. So, you walked down the path. The sun at your back with the soft breeze moving through the trees. Until you met the clearing of the treeline and landed at the small beach of a lake. A rowboat was beached and flipped over with those familiar engravings of knife grazing the hull.
Brushing a hand over it, you smiled softly. You sighed softly as your eyes shut.
“Hey, Y/n.”
The air inside of your lungs was sucked away as you spun around and found the longing sight of your little sister, Sarah. That beaming smile of hers was still very much there with those baby blues staring up at you. She still had the clothes the day you had last seen her. A long sleeve t-shirt and her pyjama pants.
Your face scrunched up as your lips wobbled. “Sarah.”
That giddy giggle fell from her lips as she ran over to you. You fell to your knee, becoming engulfed in a hug and held the little girl close as possible. Missing her touch and presence as a whole dearly. When the world had been normal, you were inseparable from your sister. And when she died, a piece of you left with her.
A sob wracked your body, pulling her impossibly closer as you shook your head. “I’m sorry for what happened to you,” you wept into her shoulder. “For everything, dad’s lost.”
“Y/n.” Sarah pulled away resting both her hands on your shoulder.
You shook your head. “I should’ve been there. I should’ve protected you. You wouldn’t be dead if I was just there to save you.”
“That’s not your burden to carry.” You shook your head, denying the girl’s words. “It’s not even Daddy’s. None of it was either of your guys’ faults.”
Pursing your lips, you inhaled deeply and glanced up at her. You could be swallowed whole by those beautiful blue eyes. And it felt like you were slipping towards them. “I need to stay with Ellie,” you muttered. “I need to hold her and Uncle Tommy together.”
But Sarah shook her head, smiling softly. “No, you don’t,” she told you softly. “You only think you do. The war’s over, Y/n.”
Sniffling, you shook your head. “We don’t know that.”
Sarah tilted her head, cupping your cheek while her other hand pressed against the center of your chest. “I mean with you.”

Being Honest (E42 Miles)
You're changing, I can't stand it
My heart can't take this damage
And the way I feel, can't stand it
Mmm, I don't understand this
"Miles what the fuck is your problem?!" [name] shouted out of pure frustration. It had been about 2 months since the death of Mr. Morales and Miles seemed to only be getting worse as time passed.
[name] had been the only one of Miles's friends to actually bond with his dad, so she was almost as hurt as he was, knowing her pain could never match his. Not that she could really let that show as she was too busy trying to make sure Miles didn't crash out.
"Bro just leave me alone right now" he cut his eyes over at her, observing the way she almost exploded at him but calmed herself down.
"Look, Miles, I know you're hurt. I promise I do. But that doesn't mean you can walk around and treat people who're trying to make sure you're okay, like shit!" she huffed, trying her best to get through to him.
His head slowly turned to her and they made intense eye contact before he spoke.
"Nobody asked you to"
[name] looked at him like he had 3 heads before she chuckled.
"Oh okay. Well since you Mr. Big and the fuck Bad, I'll leave you to your business, the fuck" she said, scrunching her face up while gathering her things.
Not a word was said as she walked out of his room.
Lately, I've been feeling' alone
But I'm clutching my chrome
Pray to my mama I'm gon make it home
Twenty missed calls, I ain't answer my phone
Miles watched his phone ring over and over, eventually silencing it, already knowing who it was.
He knew every night when he put that suit on, was another chance of him not making it back home. Not that he much cared about his own safety, he just didn't want to put the loss of both her husband and son on his mom. In the back of his head, he also knew he wouldn't ever want to put [name] through that type of pain.
The night she walked out of his room, he felt like she gave up on him. In his head, he figured it was going to happen, which is why he expected for that to be the case. So when she called him that night, he just stared at his phone.
He stayed by himself most days. He didn't go to school anymore, nor did he barely leave his room whenever he was home. At nights, he pushed all of his thoughts away that didn't correlate with his work.
He was alone. But while he thought it would be best, he caught himself thinking a few times. Thinking about his life before tragedy struck.
When he still had his happiness. His dad. When he had [name].
I got my front, but is you behind me?
Get goofy like Martin and Gina
Or get greedy like Keisha and Tommy
Then get deady like Whitney and Bobby
He missed her. Even though he tried to convince himself he didn't, he knew he did.
At nights, he would sometimes sit on top of a random building and stare into the sky thinking. Memories of him and [name] before invaded his mind. The way they would just sit in his room for hours talking about absolutely nothing. Just basking in each others presence.
He thought about all the times she defended his name both in front of him and behind his back. The way she would randomly get suspended because "some bitch don't know how to keep your name out her mouth".
Thoughts of her smile and laugh filled his mind, causing a small smile to form on his. How she would laugh and smile her way out of any situation always blew his mind. He could daydream about her pearly whites lighting up the sky all day. How laugh she would hard whenever they teamed up to prank his or her parents. Or when he tickled her, he couldn't help but smile at the way she laughed and squirmed to get his hands off of her.
He thought back to the night of the argument. He knew he should've reached out afterwards or at least answered any of her calls. Quite frankly, he was scared. He didn't know what she wanted to talk about, plus he was scared to be vulnerable around anyone. Plus, he was keeping her out of harm's way the further he stayed away from her. In his head, he knew that was some bullshit and just a bunch of stupid excuses he told himself to bury the guilt under.
Whenever he tried to smoke the pain away, it just came back harder. He looked at the Dutch: Dream Fusion wrapper and felt a tug at his heart as he thought of how she specifically always asked for that type of gar. It was something stupid to get emotional at, but he found himself wiping a tear from his eye as he stared at it. He missed how they would get violently high and watch a movie while pigging out on a bunch of snacks.
After a few more thoughts and a decision to go with his impulsive thoughts, he found himself outside of her door.
You're changing, I can't stand it
My heart can't take this damage
And the way I feel, can't stand it
Mmm, I don't understand this
He hesitantly knocked, waiting a few minutes before the door was opened. He made eye contact with the girl he had been longing for for a month. Her eyes watered just like his before she embraced him in a hug.
He finally broke down. Finally allowed his emotions to be on full display as she hurriedly brought him into the house. He sobbed into her arms for what felt like an hour, taken over by the feeling of comforting arms.
"Fuck, [name], I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to push you out- well I did but I didn't- I don't- fuck I missed you," he sobbed, feeling her hands play with one of his braids as she shushed him quietly.
"It's fine Miles, I understand"
"What's all this noise-," they heard as another light turned on.
They looked up to the voice, seeing [name]'s mother.
"Oh, Miles" she sighed, walking over and pulling the boy into a hug on her own. "We've been so worried about you! [name] said you weren't answering the phone and Rio, poor Rio, she said she barely even sees you." she said, hugging him tighter.
"I'm sorry, ma" he mumbled, squeezing her tighter as well.
"And you know, if you need anything, we're here. You understand?" she asked and he nodded his head.
She walked back to her room, leaving the two teenagers in the living room.
"Don't apologize for taking your space. I understand." she said as his mouth opened to speak.
"I'm not apologizing for taking my space. I'm apologizing for how I acted that night. And for worrying you" he mumbled, making her smile softly.
"Don't. I shouldn't have-"
"You did everything right, pretty, I promise. I just..." he paused and sighed. "I just didn't want pity from anyone else. I was getting it from everyone. But I didn't realize you weren't pitying me, you were just... there for me. So thank you. A lot." he said, looking up at her.
She nodded and sent him a smile. "Don't worry about it. That's what I'm here for" she said, making him smile a bit.
"Yeah yeah" he said, waving her off playfully.
"Soooooo, we good now?" she asked, making him look at her like she was stupid.
"Nigga duh" he chuckled, making her roll her eyes playfully.
"Not too fucking much now"
The end.

Lessons of You Part 7
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw x FemReader
Warnings: fluff, mentions of depression, mentions of smut, broken reader, 18+
Summary: Blake Parker was used to running. When life got hard, she’d run. The idea of sticking around to end up broken was scarier then she’d like to admit. So she hid away, cut all ties, and lived contently on her own. She was done running because no one could find her there. That is until a Navy Pilot runs into her life, and she learns allowing yourself to love can be scary, but hiding from it can be even worse.
a/n: I’m soooo sorry it’s been so long. I dropped that smutty chapter and literally dipped. The Fourth of July is the busiest time of the year for me so I was preoccupied with that but here is the newest chapter. sadly our story is coming to a close, I have a feeling the next chapter will be the last. thank you so much for coming on this journey with me and reading along xx

It had been two days since Blake had heard from Bradley. She tried not to worry but it was hard. Going from a week of Bradley texting her every chance he got to being in her bed the night before he left, it was hard to go to complete radio silence. She tried to remind herself she knew nothing about the mission. Bradley never once mentioned how long it would be, how many days it could take, how far away it was, nothing. She prayed that it just meant he was still busy and serving his country. She had no other way to contact anyone to make sure he was alive. She kind of knew Phoenix but she didn’t have her number, and she could go back to the Hard Deck but if they had lost someone why would they have any need to be celebrating at a bar? So she waited and prayed that if she ever did recieve word it would be good news.
After her night with Bradley she had texted her Mom informing her she was ready to move back. Her Mom had already found an apartment, searching before Blake had even decided. It was a perfect little place and it reminded her very much of the one she was in now. The minute she gave her Mom the go ahead they got it all worked out, her Dad already fixing things in the apartment that it needed. So now Blake's life consisted of boxes, not many considering she didn't have much, but there was still stuff to be packed and taken with her on her self discovery journey. The idea of being home was exciting and nerve wracking all at the same time. She just hoped that when it was time for her to go Bradley will have returned.
"Almost done packing as we speak" Blake told her Mom over the phone as she looked at the living room stuffed with boxes. Her apartment had come completely furnished so majority of the boxes was clothes, bedding, and some dishware. Considering she did the same thing every day and didn't socialize much that wasn't even a lot either. Majority of the boxes were filled with books. Once she had finished she was surprised to realize what a small mark of hers she had left on San Diego, it was as if she took up no space at all.
"Are you excited, we can't wait to see you" her Mom cheered on the phone and Blake smiled, because she was excited but nerves twinged in her stomach over Bradley.
"Yeah, I can't wait" but her Mom heard it in her voice, and she knew something was wrong. She prayed she wasn't changing her mind.
"It doesn’t sound like it" Blake sighed and pressed a hand to her head.
"I am Mom, I promise. It's just I haven't heard from Bradley and last I knew he was picked for some dangerous mission. I will be more enthusiastic once I know he is safe" her parents knew of Bradley, considering he was the only thing to happen in her life recently that was worth talking about. The attractive Navy pilot with a heart of gold who brought their daughter back to them. They would be forever indebted to him for that.
"I'm sure he's fine sweetheart, he's trained for these type of things and they wouldn't of chosen him if they didnt think there would be a chance of him not coming back home" Blake nodded because she knew her Mom was right, she just needed to hear his voice. One last goodbye with the guy who made her whole again. He was a life lesson she needed, the one she was waiting for. The thing about life lessons though was usually after you learn them you don't need it anymore. That thought terrified her, because Bradley is the only reason she had felt something for the first time in years.
"I know, I just worry that maybe something did happen and not a single soul knows to contact me. Maybe he didn't make it and I would never know and have to come back home wondering whatever happened to the Navy Pilot I kind of fell for" this was Blake's first time admitting to any feelings at all, but Bradley was the first person to make her heart start beating in a long time and she couldn't just leave without knowing if he was okay.
"Blake honey, people are meant to be in our lives for a reason. Whether it's forever or only for one reason. Bradley met you for a reason and maybe you weren't meant to see him again, but it you are you'll know. Now don't worry so much, he is a professional after all" Blake sighed as she said this before nodding despite the fact her mother couldn’t see her.
"I'm gonna finish packing, I'll call you later Mom" Blake told her, not wanting to cry because she knew her Mom was right. Her Mom was trying to not break her heart if Bradley did never return. She would just have to remember him as something good that helped her through a rough patch of her life.
"Okay, be safe" her Mom responded and Blake ended the call uninterested in hearing anymore of letting Bradley go. She just wasn’t quite ready to pretend that the short time spent with Bradley was just that. A small shared moment between two broken people who helped each other learn that life goes on and it is as good as you make it.
It didn't take long to finish packing. She didn't have a lot and once she shut the last box she realized that there was nothing more to occupy her time then worry about Bradley. So even though she had told the publishing company she needed a few days she grabbed her latest shelf read and made her way to the porch to try and finish it. The sound of waves crashing, seagulls cawing, and kids screams from the beach was able to drown out her thoughts as she escaped into a different world. That was until she noticed the male lead in the book was an awful lot like Bradley. Dark and mysterious yet so full of love.
"Here I was thinking you'd be waiting at the door for me, worry all over you face, and instead I find you out here reading. Typical" Blake dropped the book in her hands, whipping around to see the beautiful mustached man standing in her doorway. She must've not heard the front door.
"Bradshaw!" without even realizing tears fell down her cheeks as she rushed towards him, him instantly engulfing her in a hug. "I was so worried, I didn't know what to think or who to call"
"It's okay, I'm here now" he comforted her, a hand running down her back and he instantly felt guilty knowing what had just happened on his mission.
"Was everything successful?" she asked, now backing away and holding his face in her hands.
"Yes, of course there were a few hiccups but we didn't lose any lives" he told her, afraid to tell her the hiccup was him pretty much sacrficing himself. Yet Blake saw all the guilt all over his face, her eyebrows instantly drawing together.
"You almost didn't make it?" she whispered, a thumb pressing out the crease in his forehead.
"Uncle Pete, Maverick took a hit for me and his plane went down. I couldn't just leave him so I went down after him" Blake gasped just slightly, possibilities running through her head like wildfire.
“You could have died” Blake fought the tears that threatened to run down her face, she didn’t want to be upset because he was here now. Right in front of her.
“I know, I know. I wasn’t thinking, just I saw him get hit for me. I thought I was a goner, and then I realized that when he went down for me that was the last family I had and if I didn’t do something I’d never forgive myself” Bradley told her, hands gripping her wrists as he tried to tell her everything was okay.
“Is he okay?” she asked and a smile cracked across his face.
“Yeah, lucky bastard and a little help from Hangman later but we both made it” he grinned at her and she chuckled, just knowing Hangman would hold that over him forever.
“I thought if you died I’d never know, I had no one to contact. I wasn’t sure what to do with myself while you were gone” Blake finally admitted and a tear rolled down his cheek at her confession.
“I gave Phoenix your number, she had specific instructions to call if I didn’t make it and give you any information you needed” Blake drew her eyebrows together in confusion.
“But you went down, they thought you and Pete were dead. She never called” Bradley chuckled through his tears, smile on his face.
“She knew I was still out there, I’m a tough asshole” Blake chuckled and shook her head as she pulled him back into another hug.
“Okay enough death talk, I’m just glad you’re here” she told him and he nodded on top of her head, arms wrapped around her waist.
“I saw the boxes in the living room” he said, immediately noticing the house was emptier than before when he arrived.
“Yeah. I um, found an apartment back home” she said pulling back, her eyes searching his face for a reaction.
“When do you leave?” he asked and Blake sighed, knowing it was too fast, that they only had such little time together.
“Tuesday” Two days. That was it. Two days and then she would be halfway across the country.
“Wow” was all he could bring himself to say, letting the information sink in despite the fact he wanted to pretend she’d be here forever.
“I know we only got a short time together but you taught me that you can lose people at any moment, life is full of regrets, and one of them shouldn’t be staying away from loved ones when you still have a chance to love them” Bradley smiled, happy he was able to give her that. Even if they knew each other for a small period of time, they still learned so much from one another.
“I’m happy I could show you that, you helped me too you know. I probably never would’ve allowed my Uncle back into my life if it wasn’t for you. So now when you leave I still have someone here for me” Blake smiled and hugged the boy tight again, knowing that this conversation felt final. Knowing that despite how hard they try, being across the country from each other wouldn’t keep them together.
“So, what’re you doing for the next two days?” Blake asked, her voice vibrating against his chest and Bradley chuckled, a wide smile spread across his face.
“Spending them with you, if you’ll let me” he told her and Blake smiled, her head tilting up to look at him.
“You don’t have to ask for permission anymore big B”

my rewatch of broadchurch has reminded me of how much i love the idea of hopper taking on steve as an intern and showing him the ropes of policework. so, uh, here's a little thing i might make into an actual fic one of these days:
it's not steve's first choice of job. but it was offered to both him and robin, it pays well, it gets his dad off his back. or maybe worse. ("finally getting your life together, are you? finally got yourself an actual career.")
at first, it's simple, easy. reports, paperwork, sometimes some leg work. hopper oversees steve and robin's training personally. he says it's because they show potential; while that may be true, steve also suspects that hop's been told to keep an eye on the two of them by the shady government agents who have been lingering around hawkins—most of them pretending to be regular people, but the townspeople know better. everyone knows everyone in a small town like hawkins, and after the hellscape the town became, people have their own theories about what happened. most of them are pretty close, almost all of them including a government conspiracy.
for the few months, that's all they do. chase after the people who get too close to the truth, hush them up before the papers can snap up the story. they can't stop them all, but for the most part, people outside of hawkins write it off as lunacy. steve and hopper are thankful for that.
two years. two years of pure silence from any related to the upside down; no demodogs, no labs, no doctors, no psychic children. just eleven—jane, now—with the hopper-byers, and she hasn't used her powers for anything other than making max's life easier. the party's gone back to playing d&d together regularly, even though their parents tease them they're too old to be playing it in mike's basement.
and then, a couple months after the anniversary of will's disappearance, the world starts to crack again.
not really, not literally, not like it did when vecna split hawkins into four chunks of hell. but it's close, because steve can feel the world shift and begin to fall, just like it did then. it's worse this time, though, because he didn't really notice last time. he was too wrapped up in himself, in high school, in tommy and carol, in nancy. but this time? this time steve is fully aware of just how disastrous the world is.
it's a body. it's a young boy. all of hawkins stills because it's a little too similar.
when he's found, nobody knows who it is. the body's in the quarry, found by a group of young kids playing a little too close to the edge. (the town starts to get uneasy.)
the police retrieve the body. the family's contacted privately. the mother screams and wails that she was right, that she knew, that if they had just listened to her—
they realize, too late, that a missing persons report was filed about the boy two days ago. hopper hates how much the woman reminds him of joyce.
the autopsy is performed, and it confirms that the boy is really this woman's son. hopper insists on being present for the autopsy, just a little too worried it would be another fake.
for a while, steve is convinced it has to be related to what happened in the early 80s. hopper is, too, until that autopsy. after that, he tells steve it's a perfectly normal murder case.
it takes a while before steve believes him. only after that does he start to think that a regular murder case is even worse.
"i hate these small town murders," hopper says to him one day. "too many secrets about too many people get uncovered. things we never should know."
"but we're the police, shouldn't we know these things? if people are threatening and blackmailing and committing petty crimes, shouldn't we know?" steve asks, confused as to why hopper seems to be okay with these things—small compared to a murder, but big to a small town—happening all the time under their noses.
because that's what has been happening. backs are turning quickly. the town is becoming violent, accusing anyone and everyone who is slightly suspicious as the boy's killer.
"in a regular small town, it wouldn't be as big of a deal," hopper says. "even then, some things are just better left unsaid. but here? there's too many secrets we need to keep. secrets unrelated to this case. secrets that could get the soviets interested again."
and the idea of that makes steve shudder, his body remembering pain he had never really gotten rid of, always feeling it when it's too cold or raining.
robin shares similar ideas to hopper. "all these accusations," she says one night, when it's just them in the office because hop sent everybody else home and he's in the next room making coffee, "doesn't it scare you? like imagine if somebody turns on...i don't know, jonathan or...or nancy? i mean nancy owns guns and people know about it—"
"the boy wasn't shot, robs."
"—and jonathan, i mean, everybody who went to school with us heard about you breaking the camera and why you did it. they might..."
steve shakes his head. "i wish i hadn't, robs. especially now."
"i know that, that's not what i'm saying. my point is, we've all got dirt, every single one of us. eddie's been accused of murder before, who's to say they won't do it again? even if it doesn't make sense, neither do the people they target now. anyone who's done any wrong is in the risk of it being made public. and if that happened to us? if people find out about el, about vecna, about will? what happens then?"
she's worked herself up into a panic, steve can tell. but this time, he doesn't really know what to say. he doesn't know what will happen. the government agents who watched them for months before they disappeared all at once never made verbal threats, but the threat of their presence was enough to silence everyone.
the only thing he can think to say is "eddie's on tour with the guys right now, he's safe from all of this."
"until they get back, then everyone will become the next jason carver," robin says, and steve begs her not to bring him back up.
secrets get dug up as the case drags on, only getting further and further away from closure. affairs, bullying, threats, drugs, alcohol, robbery. whatever small, dirty secret the town could possibly have, it does have, and it gets dug up and aired out like dirty laundry.
steve watches the town pretend to be shocked at every new revelation. it doesn't hurt very much until he watches the entire town pretend that they—and he—didn't know his dad was cheating on his mom and has been for years; that still doesn't hurt as much as the pitying looks they give him when he shows up to ask questions or to take their statements; and that still doesn't compare to the looks everyone gives his mom.
he watches his mom lose her love of life. it was fine, or they could pretend it was fine, before everybody knew (officially) about his dad's infidelity. they could pretend it wasn't happening. they pretended it was some big business meeting or a dinner with a client or whatever it was, except what it actually was.
that's what hurts steve most about policework. watching people go under for things that have nothing to do with him. watching people lose family and livelihoods over mistakes made years ago. watching the life drain from a community, replaced by suspicion and anger and hatred.
because if he stops and thinks about it, steve doesn't really mind it otherwise. he likes the thrill, the facts fitting together, the possibility that they might actually be right.
and when they are right, even after countless wrong leads, steve feels the relief deep in his bones. he feels it in the town, too, feels people start to breathe again and start to go back to normal and live their lives again.
he knows it's not normal again, not really. how can it be? but he watches the case go to trial, he watches it go right, he watches the killer go to jail. he watches the family finally breathe again, hears the mother thank him and robin and hopper, sees them try to go back to their lives and do they best they can.
it's not normal, but it's better. it's better than it was, because the accusations are gone now, what's been dug up has either been forgotten or left alone or maybe it has changed lives, but people are moving on. sweeping it under the rug like it never even happened.
there are some divorces in the following weeks—the couples whose infidelity was discovered. the police chase a few domestic abuse reports. steve handles a few of them, because he's learned to handle the punches now. there'a crackdown on illicit substances. steve and robin are glad eddie's quit all of that now, that he had given it up years ago.
the world stops ending. steve knows it'll end again someday, more often if he ever ends up in a big city. but for now, it's over and he can go back to his boring old police routine.
steve likes "boring" these days. boring is a safety net, something to fall back into when things get exciting.
the other thing steve likes about policework—it is exciting. sometimes. sometimes, it makes him feel alive again.

pleasepleasepleaseplease tell us more about your shadow comapny ocs
Oh boy, this is mostly just gonna be me making this up as I go cause I literally only just made these boys.
We'll start with Ness cause he's definitely my favorite!
He's probably early 30s, and is the oldest of five. He's still in contact with them, technically, but he hardly ever visits anymore. His mother passed a couple of years ago, and there was a big fight that broke out between a bunch of family members. There were some secrets his mom had been hiding, and when she died it all got revealed and some members of his family didn't react well. In other words, her side of the family thought she was the perfect mom, but in reality, Ness had to pretty much raise his own siblings while his mom did nothing. She was never abusive, but definitely neglected her kids, and this has stuck with Ness. There were a couple of other things, but because Ness was already military at this point, he just stopped visiting family when he's on leave.
He's such a cryptid! Such a cryptid! This is all due to the fact he got the short end of the genetic lottery, and got dumped with a bunch of physical issues. He has vitiligo, which was a tough time when his dad's brother (uncle) took him to a like support group thing for kids with vitiligo. It was tough cause he was the only white kid there, and it was hard cause some of the parents of other kids didn't take him seriously. He's not pasty white, by any means! He's actually got a darker complexion thanks to his father's Greek ancestry, but still. His vitiligo is much more noticeable around his arms, hands, and stomach so he's always in long sleeves.
HE HAS HETEROCHROMIA!! This is important! Everyone loves Ness's one green-blue eye and almost golden brown eye!
He actually used to have really intensive speech therapy sessions because he has speech apraxia (Idk how to explain it but it's basically he struggles getting his mouth to move properly to form words), but when is youngest sibling was born, he stopped going. It was getting harder and harder for his dad to help with everything since his mom didn't do anything at this point. Because he had to stop speech therapy, he still struggles to form words properly, thus making him really self-conscious about speaking which is why he's so quiet. The military life has helped: he can perfectly say all the necessary words for use on the field, but outside of that, he struggles.
The Shadows like to lovingly tease him and say "It's just Nessie gurgling his words cause he's not used to speaking on land". It's surprisingly helpful for him to feel less weird about it, cause he's Ness! He's supposed to be a bit weird! The same applies to his heterochromia and his vitiligo: "Nessie's human form got confused!" or "Ness forgot what humans look like".
Ness joined the military because he figured those things didn't matter, that as long as he could do a job right, he'd be fine. Yes, his early years before Shadow Company were worse than his childhood, but he appreciates those years. They were hell on earth, but they gave him a backbone (something he didn't have before), and they gave him new skills and let him see the world. 'Sides, those years gave him the skills to get into Shadow Company, and he wouldn't have such great family friends if it hadn't been for his time before SC.
King of eye rolling and side eyes. Sticks his tongue out constantly during conversations/just in general. Sometimes forgets he's still wearing his goggles, so it adds to the cryptid-ness.
Lives with his boyfriend of almost 3 years and their one eyed calico named Patchy when he's not with the Shadows.
*He's so cryptid*
Flash time!
Only child. Loves his parents, but god he's such an only child. It's part of why he's pretty appreciative of the way a lot of the older Shadows take him under their wing. Especially Moose (@cod-dump 's Shadow OC) cause Moose is just so cool and so smart and he's so much fun to hang out with!
He was one of those ADHD kids that kept getting in trouble. Like it was a chronic issue for him growing up. So when the recruiting team for the army shows up to his highschool one day, he's asking a billion questions. The guy answering them is so patient with him, and gives him the answers he's looking for, doesn't mind when he's interrupted, etc. It's this interaction that has Flash considering a career in the military, and when he graduates he realizes his transcript was really poor and he won't get a dime from colleges, so he just joins the military. His parents stressed cause they saw it as a really last minute rash decision, but he saw it as the only option.
And it's a good thing he did. Are the methods used for correcting behavior good? Uh, no... No they are not. But are they exactly what Flash needed? Honestly yes. He needed the strict discipline (being an only child left him with too much freedom), and the army gave him so many different ways to expend his energy. It was perfect for him.
And so he got really good, really fast. And Graves said "I CALL DIBS!"
Has all sorts of weird physical tricks that he can do. Very flexible and likes to show off how fast he can run and for how long. He's got papers to turn into Graves's office but he's on the other side of the building? Running into Graves's office.
He loves hanging out with the Shadows outside of base, especially when some of them take him with them when they visit home on leave. He loves showing up every time he goes home with a couple of his closest Shadow buddies. His poor mother isn't used to having to feed so many people, especially ones with such large appetites.
But his favorite is when Graves invites him out to his ranch during the summer months. He's a city boy, a Northerner if you will, and he's completely unfamiliar with any sort of "country living". Cause "what do you mean I have all this space to just run? You want me to sling hay bales, sir??? ABSOLUTELY LET'S SEE HOW MANY I CAN DO IN THE NEXT HOUR!" *immediately distracted by the chickens* "Holy shit, Commander, you have chickens?!" *he's never seen a chicken in his life*
Flash is such a cutie pie, btw. Like perfect little average blonde American guy in his early 20s. Has so much energy that when he inevitably crashes somewhere, the other Shadows play a game of "Don't Wake The Baby"
Definitely having a sexuality crisis. Can't decide if he wants to devote his very existence to a woman or get tossed around by a big guy.
Truck time!
Truck isn't actually a gentle soul. He'll tell you your an asshole to your face, he'll yell at you for fucking up something in his shop, etc. He just grew up in a very poor neighborhood, being raised by his neighbors cause both parents worked long hours and he would stay with the other kids. It was an "every man for himself" type of life for him, especially as he got older and the kids got meaner.
It never helped that he struggled really bad in school, and his parents were too poor/too busy to look into testing him for different learning disabilities. It isn't until the military, actually, that he finds out he's dyslexic. He learned all the could about trucks and stuff through word-of-mouth/hands-on experience because of his father. Once Truck was old enough, his Pop was taking him to the mechanic shop he worked in and he taught him everything he knew.
Truck's dad passed away about a year after Truck joined the military, and it wasn't an easy loss for him. He devoted his time to learning everything he can about vehicles in honor of Pops.
He's a big boy, even if not very tall, and will rock your shit (in a bad way). He's sometimes deemed a "grumpy old man" but he's really just very closed off about personal matters and doesn't want "a bunch of idiots who don't know what they're doing" in his shop.
Actually thinks Flash is incredibly annoying, but he'll kill someone that isn't a Shadow if they said the same. He's one of the older Shadows, so he definitely took one look at this annoying ass kid that's several inches taller and said "This kid's gonna get himself killed, is no one going to do something about it?" and then didn't wait for an answer. But only for in the field. Flash is Moose's problem on base in Truck's opinion.
And finally Woody!!!
He's like younger to mid 30s. Has a wife and two kids (a five year old girl and three year old son). He's like a stereotypical frat boy except the specific type of frat boy that you trust with your life cause he'll make sure you get home safe and drink enough water.
He's cracking dad jokes left and right, he's just silly. It's definitely intentional. His first assignment was traumatizing and he knows everyone needs a reminder of the better things in life.
He was really close with a lot of the Shadows that were lost during the events of Las Almas, and that hits him hard. He can't help but feel so guilty cause he wasn't there, but if anyone heard it, especially Graves, they'd probably try to smack some sense into him. He was at home with his wife cause she had miscarried, and Graves is secretly so grateful Woody wasn't there. He had lost so many good Shadows that day, he can't imagine how miserable it would've been to lose Woody, too.
Woody definitely knows this, so he's letting his Dad Instincts take over sometimes. He's checking in on Graves and some of the other Shadows that were affected more closely by the events. Even if this sometimes means sitting in Graves's office for a drink and not saying a word, all because Graves sometimes just needs company.
Ever since earning his callsign, he's dressed as Woody from Toy Story for Halloween every year without fail.
So many Hawaiian shirts. So. Many.
Really good at matching someone else's energy and somehow bringing them up or down based on the situation. Like with Ness, he's bringing out his more social side, helping him relax in a social situation. With Flash, he's helping keep the ball of energy under wraps/grounding him.
Used his Dad Voice on Graves once and the two had a really long, awkward staring contest immediately after.
Avid user of the nickname "Kiddo" for literally any of the Shadows, even Moose, which is kind of an inside joke for the pair.
And those are my boys! They'll be playing the role of Graves's closest surviving Shadows in my work Unending Devotion soon, which will be during his hero arc
Please let me know if y'all make art/have any questions/potential ideas for these boys!
