An As You Wish Story
Collaboration with my beloved @munson-blurbs
Summary: A trip to the grocery store has you running into some familiar faces--and one not so friendly.

In your opinion, there’s no such concept as a bad time for soup. The dead of winter, the stifling heat of summer—it’s all good.
The fall weather that’s rolled into Hawkins has inspired you to try your hand at making some from scratch, bringing you to Bradley’s Big Buy on a Sunday afternoon. You’re inspecting a bag of carrots for freshness and tossing them in the cart haphazardly when you feel a sudden thump against your leg.
“Wha—” you start, ready to confront whoever was careless enough to ram into you. Your scowl immediately softens when you see the two smiling faces looking up at you. “Oh, hi boys!”
Luke, unsurprisingly, is the one who ran into you at full speed. Ryan is a few paces behind his bull-in-a-china-shop brother, but his expression is equally happy.
You crouch down to give each of them a hug. The way they both wrap their arms around you radiates love’s warmth, and it melts your heart.
“Are you buying anything good?” you ask, knowing they’ll be wholly unimpressed with your basket full of vegetables.
Luke nods vigorously. “CHICKEN NUGGETS!” He bellows, drawing irate glares from nearby shoppers. “Daddy has a cool-pon.”
“It’s coupon,” Ryan says with a gentle roll of his eyes.
You’re still stuck on the mention of their dad. Eddie’s here? And you don’t have on a lick of makeup—of course.
“Where is Daddy?” you ask, looking up and down the aisle in the unlikely event that you missed him.
“He’s uh…” Luke trails off, scrunching his nose as he searches for his dad. Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” crinkles over the PA system after being interrupted by a call for assistance in the frozen food department as Brittany appears at the end of the aisle.
An irritated voice calls out from the end of the aisle. “What’s taking you two so—oh. You’re here.” Brittany crosses her arms over her chest, huffing out an impatient sigh when she spots you.
Luke pipes up, still attached to your leg. “We can’t find the asper-, uh, aparag, the um…”
“Asparagus,” Brittany corrects him as if the five-year-old should be able to pronounce words perfectly by this age.
“Oh,” you say, turning to exactly where you know the asparagus is. “Here you go.”
Ryan gladly takes it from you with a grin. Huh, maybe there is a Munson who shares your affinity for veggies. It certainly isn’t Luke—or Eddie, for that matter.
“You’re the best!” he says cheerfully, placing it in the cart that Brittany’s been pushing.
“Boys.” It almost sounds like she’s admonishing them for being kind to you. She looks at you with unkind eyes. “Maybe you should work here instead of for us,” she says, trying to play it off as a joke, but you can tell there’s some underlying threat.
Luke is not amused by this, his little fingers digging into your leg as he clutches onto your jeans even tighter. “No! She has to be our babysitter forever and ever!” He pouts, eyes welling up with tears at the mere mention of you leaving.
“Maybe not forever,” Ryan points out, always the practical one, “because one day we’ll be grown-ups with our own kids—”
“And then she can babysit them!” Luke declares, proud of his idea, loosening his grip on you.
Brittany shakes her head, immediately eschewing the notion. “C’mon, let’s get going,” she says tersely. “Dad’s gonna be wondering where we are.” The cruel curl of her lip serves as a painful reminder of what’s hers; more specifically, what isn’t yours.
As if on cue, Eddie meanders out from a nearby aisle, a canister of quick oats tucked under his arm. He’s wearing gray sweatpants that lay low on his hips and leave little to the imagination. Somehow on this brisk autumn day you have sweat beading along the back of your neck as you take him in.
“You’re So Vain” fades out on the speakers above, only to start playing the infectious opening notes of “Uptown Girl” by Billy Joel.
“Britt, I couldn’t find the old-fashioned kind, but will this—oh, hey,” Eddie says, stopping in his tracks to acknowledge you. “You here to make sure these gremlins don’t lock themselves in the ice cream freezer?”
Luke grins, lets go of your leg, and takes your hand proudly in his as if it was somehow all his doing that you’re here in the grocery store the same time as they are.
“Hi,” you greet before realizing you have a dopey smile on your face. “Uh, yeah. And it seems like I got here just in time. This one here almost had the lid off a rocky road before I caught him.” You shake Luke’s small hand in your own for emphasis and the boy wrinkles his nose up at you, the spitting image of his father.
Eddie chuckles and goes to respond, but his wife cuts him off.
“I guess those oats will work,” she says as she takes the canister from him—or snatches it, more like. “Come on, we didn’t even get to the dairy section yet.”
“Or,” Luke ventures, his hand gripping yours tighter in the chill air of the produce section, “we could get a cow in the backyard and get our milk that way.”
Eddie chuckles. “Hard pass, little man. We had to bring in reinforcement just to handle you and your brother.” He looks over and winks at you.
It takes all of your strength and will power not to immediately vomit right then and there at the wink. Such a simple gesture from this man has you ready to lose all control of your body.
Brittany huffs, clearly annoyed at the interaction. How dare anyone be having a conversation in her presence that doesn’t revolve around her?
“Well, we need to keep shopping.” Brittany turns on her heel, spotting a red bag of fun-size KitKats in her husband’s other hand. “And put that back. The last thing you need is more junk food.” Her eyes flit down to his stomach, which has softened with time and a steady diet of pretzels and Mountain Dew.
The tips of Eddie’s ears turn pink, and he tries to hide them behind his curls. He clears his throat, the whole time avoiding your eyes, and tosses the KitKat bag onto an empty spot of a nearby shelf. He’s clearly embarrassed, but you’re seeing red. Fury scorches you from the inside out and it’s so potent that it might just dry up some of the vegetables around you. There have been many times in the past where you’ve wanted to tell Brittany off, but this one takes the cake. The callous yet truthful words rest on the tip of your tongue, but you know it would only make the mess bigger for everyone involved. You don’t want to add any extra stress for Eddie. Brittany is the one who should be embarrassed for treating her husband that way, not Eddie. That man is drop dead gorgeous and he still would be if he inhaled a bag of those KitKats every single day.
Leave it to Luke to break the tension that he wasn’t even aware of was surrounding them all on this produce aisle. The young boy spies a can of spinach on the shelf and snatches it up, staring at it with wide eyes.
“Will this make me strong like Popeye?!”
“Sure, sweetie,” Brittany says, not paying any attention to her youngest son whatsoever.
Brittany turns and heads towards the end of the aisle, no goodbye to you, no saying where she’s going, just leaving and assuming the guys will follow behind her.
“We’ll see you tomorrow after school, right?” Ryan asks, bouncing excitedly on the balls of his feet.
“I’ll be there,” you assure him, booping the tip of his nose. He gives you a quick, strong hug around your middle.
Luke, still holding on to the can of spinach, blows you an overdramatic kiss which you pretend to almost drop into a bed of lettuce. The little boy giggles and it’s one of the best sounds you’ve ever heard.
Eddie takes a step closer to you, still feeling the sting of embarrassment, and speaks in a soft voice. “We, uh, should get going.” Eddie clears his throat. It kills you to see how Brittany zaps the life out of him. “I’ll—we’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”
“I’ll be there,” you promise once again.
Eddie offers you a small smile before turning to his sons.
“All right, come on. Let’s catch on up to Mom.”
The boys don’t look too enthused about that, and it warms your heart that they’d rather stay here and hangout with you.
“Bye guys,” you say, waving to all three of them as they head down the aisle.
Once they’re gone you heave a heavy sigh. Being in Brittany’s presence for two minutes was exhausting enough, you have no idea how those three manage to live with her.
You try to refocus on your shopping, however impossible that might seem now. When you’re checking over the items you already have and look back up at the shelves, you spot the red KitKat bag that Eddie had wanted to buy. There’s no hesitation at all to pick it up and add it to your pile of groceries.
Tumblr media
The Munson car isn’t hard to spot as you step out into the parking lot of the store. You see it almost every day and the gorgeous, familiar looking man loading groceries into the trunk is also a huge indicator.
Not surprisingly, Brittany is in the car while Eddie does all the work. The boys are in the backseat and from what you can make out of their silhouettes, they’re arguing with one another. They’re kids, they’d probably be more of a hindrance than help to Eddie. But Brittany could at least be doing something.
Steeling your nerves, you take a deep breath and head over to him.
“Eddie?”
His head whips around. “Hey,” he says with a small smile. “Everything okay?”
“Mhm,” you nod, summoning all of your courage and handing him the candy. “You left these on the shelf.” You try to play it off casually, but the slight tremble in your voice gives your nervousness away.
He starts to take them but pulls back. “I probably shouldn’t,” he mumbles, shoving his hand into his pocket. “Britt’s been on me to lose the ‘dad weight’ for a while.”
You shake your head, mostly to keep from opening your mouth and saying something about his wife that you’ll regret.
“I think you look good,” you say. “Um, like, you don’t need to lose any weight.” You’re perfect the way you are, you ache to tell him, but you shouldn’t. You can’t.
Eddie senses that you have words unspoken, but he doesn’t press further. “Well, um, thanks.” He takes the bag and opens it, grabbing two before giving it back to you. “Can’t get caught,” he explains with a laugh.
You grin at him, an idea already taking form. “I’ll bring one each day I babysit. Sneak it in like contraband.”
“As long as the boys don’t find it first,” Eddie chuckles, crossing his arms over his chest. “The last thing they need is more sugar.”
You agree with a laugh. “Deal.”
Eddie tucks the KitKats into his jacket pocket.
“Thank you, by the way,” he says softly.
“No problem. Just some candy,” you shrug.
He shakes his head. “No, it…” he trails off. “Just…thank you.”
You smile as he ducks into the driver’s seat, and you walk back to your own car. As you pack up the back with your groceries, you mentally calculate how long this bag of KitKats will last if you bring Eddie one every day that you work. You purse your lips as you slam the trunk closed.
“That’s not nearly long enough for my liking,” you mumble to yourself as you slip into the driver’s seat.
Once you put the key in the ignition, the car rumbles to life and the purr of the engine sounds like it’s coming from your brain as it churns out an idea.
You smile to yourself and shift your car into gear.
“Guess I’ll just have to buy some more bags of candy.”

This classic baked Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe is crispy breaded chicken breasts stuffed with ham and Swiss cheese and drizzled with a mustard Parmesan cream sauce. They are a family favorite, and I love to serve them with a fresh garden salad, asparagus, and Roasted Rosemary Potatoes.

BOUND IN FLAMES - Part 5
Eris Vanserra × Archeron-Sister- Reader
Description: Feyre and her younger sister go hunting in the forest behind their family's cottage and go through life changing experiences.
The estate sprawled across a rolling green land. I'd never seen anything like it; even our former home and the Archeron manor couldn't compare. It was veiled in roses and ivy, with patios and balconies and staircases sprouting from its alabaster sides. The grounds were encased by woods, but stretched so far that you could barely see the distant line of the forest.
My awe might have overpowered my confusion at the sight of Feyre looking at the place as if it was wholly empty and silent. Above the array of amethyst irises and pale snowdrops and butter-yellow daffodils swaying in the balmy breeze, the faint stench of metal ticked my nostrils. Quickly realizing that she couldn’t see what you saw. Feyre couldn’t see all the fairies that were stealing glances at us.
The faerie meandered on ahead, leaping nimbly up the grand marble staircase that led to the giant oak doors in one mighty, fluid movement. The doors swung open for him on silent hinges, and he prowled inside. I felt for my knives, finding the feel of them still beneath my clothes comforting.
Feyre’s horse came to a stop of her own accord at the foot of the stairs. The message was clear enough. The towering estate house seemed to be watching, waiting.
I glanced over my shoulder toward the still-open gates. If we were to bolt, it would have to be now.
South—all we had to do was go south, and we would eventually make it to the wall. If we didn't encounter anything before then. I could make it but I wouldn’t risk losing Feyre. She tugged on the reins, but the mare remained stationary—even as she dug her heels into her sides. She let out a low, sharp hiss. Her knees buckling as she hit the ground, blinking as if bits of light were flashing in her vision.
She grasped the saddle and winced as soreness and hunger racked her senses. Now. We had to go now. I made to move, grabbing her arm, but she looked like she was going to pass out.
Only a fool would run with no food, no strength.
We wouldn't get half a mile like this. We wouldn't get half a mile before he caught her and tore her to ribbons, as he'd promised.
She took a long, shuddering breath. Food. I need to get her food and water, then run at the next opportune moment. It sounded like a solid plan.
When she was steady enough to walk, I let go of her and we left the horse at the bottom of the stairs, taking the steps one at a time. Arms hovering around her, just in case she did pass out. My breath tight in my chest, as we passed through the open doors and into the shadows of the house.
Inside, it was even more opulent. Black and white checkered marble shone at my feet, flowing to countless doors and a sweeping staircase. A long hall stretched ahead to the giant glass doors at the other end of the house, and through them I glimpsed a second garden, grander than the one out front. No sign of a dungeon—no shouts or pleas rising up from hidden chambers below. No, just the low growl from a nearby room, so deep that it rattled the vases overflowing with fat clusters of hydrangea atop the scattered hall tables. As if in response, an open set of polished wooden doors swung wider to my left. A command to follow.
I tensed as I entered the room. Making sure to keep Feyre behind me.
A long table—longer than any the Archeron’s had ever possessed at our family manor-filled most of the space. It was laden with food and wine—so much food, some of it wafting tendrils of steam, that my mouth watered. At least it was familiar, and not some strange faerie delicacy: chicken, bread, peas, fish, asparagus, lamb… it could have been a feast at any mortal manor. Another surprise. The beast padded to the oversized chair at the head of the table.
We lingered by the threshold, gazing at the food—all that hot, glorious—food that I knew Feyre wouldn’t want to eat. Even if she needed it. That was the first rule humans are taught as children, usually in songs or chants: If misfortune forced you to keep company with a faerie, you never drank their wine, never ate their food. Ever. Unless you wanted to wind up enslaved to them in mind and soul— unless you wanted to wind up dragged back to Prythian. Well, the second part had already happened, but she didn’t know most of what she was taught was bullshit.
The beast plopped into the chair, the wood groaning, and, in a flash of white light, turned into a golden-haired man.
I hoped my face remained an unreadable mask, blinking was the only reaction you’d show, as your worst nightmare became real. Continued to hope he didn’t know you or about you, even though you knew who he is—what he is—to you.
Feyre pushed herself against the paneled wall beside the door, you could hear her feeling for the molding of the threshold, trying to gauge the distance between her and escape. As she realized this beast was not a man, not a lesser faerie. He was one of the High Fae, one of their ruling nobility: beautiful, lethal, and merciless.
His nose, cheeks, and brows were covered by an exquisite golden mask embedded with emeralds shaped like whorls of leaves. Just like it was described in the stories you were told. It left only his eyes--looking the same as they had in his beast form, strong jaw, and mouth for me to see, and the latter tightened into a thin line.
"You two should eat something," he said. Unlike the elegance of his mask, the dark green tunic he wore was rather plain, accented only with a leather baldric across his broad chest. It was more for fighting than style, even though he bore no weapons I could detect. Not just one of the High Fae, but ... a warrior, too. He filled a glass of wine from an exquisitely cut crystal decanter and drank deeply. As if he needed it.
"Who are you?" Feyre managed to say. His light golden hair was so similar to the color of his beast form's pelt. Those giant claws undoubtedly still lurked just below the surface of his skin.
"Sit," he said gruffly, waving a broad hand to encompass the table. "Eat."
I knew Feyre’s silence meant she was reciting the chants in her head, again and again. No doubt deciding it wasn’t worth it— easing her ravenous hunger was definitely not worth the risk of being enslaved to him in mind and soul. And you had never fought the urge to drag her to the table to eat and drink as much as you were now.
He let out a low growl, directed at Feyre. "Unless you'd rather faint?"
"It's not safe for humans," She managed to say. It took all your focus not to roll your eyes at her. But you couldn’t fault her, she didn’t know and you had never told her.
He huffed a laugh—more feral than anything. "The food is fine for you to eat, human." Those strange green eyes pinned us to the spot, as if he could detect every muscle in her body that was priming to bolt. And every muscle in mine that was fighting to sit and eat for her sake or bolt with her. "Leave, if you want," he added with a flash of teeth. "I'm not your jailer. The gates are open—you can live anywhere in Prythian."
You could survive. Just needing to make it your family’s cottage--your real family’s cottage. And no doubt risk Feyre being eaten or tormented by a wretched faerie. But while every inch of this place was civilized and clean and beautiful, we had to get out, had to get back. That promise to our mother, cold and vain as she was, was all we had. We made no move toward the food.
"Fine," he said, the word laced with a growl, and began serving himself.
We didn't have to face the consequences of refusing him another time, as someone strode past me, heading right for the head of the table.
"Well?” The stranger said to another High Fae: red-haired and finely dressed in a tunic of muted silver. He, too, wore a mask. He looked familiar but I couldn’t be sure. He sketched a bow to the seated male and then crossed his arms. Somehow, he hadn't spotted us where we were still pressed against the wall.
"Well, what?" Our captor cocked his head, the movement more animal than human.
"Is Andras dead, then?"
A nod from our captor—savior—whatever he was. "I'm sorry," he said quietly.
"How?" the stranger demanded, his knuckles white as he gripped his muscled arms.
"An ash arrow," said the other. His red-haired companion hissed. "The Treaty's summons led me to the mortals. I gave them safe haven."
"Two girls—two mortal girls actually killed Andras." Not a question so much as a venom-coated string of words. He glanced at the end of the table, where our empty chairs stood. "And the summons found the girls responsible."
The golden-masked one gave a low, bitter laugh and pointed at me. "The Treaty's magic brought me right to their doorstep."
The stranger whirled with fluid grace. His mask was bronze and fashioned after a fox's features, concealing all but the lower half of his face—along with most of what looked like a wicked, slashing scar from his brow down to his jaw. It didn't hide the eye that was missing—or the carved golden orb that had replaced it and moved as though he could use it. It fixed on us. On me.
Even from across the room, I could see his remaining russet eye widen. Something flashing in it, but as quick as it came it was gone.
He sniffed once, his lips curling a bit to reveal straight white teeth, and then he turned to the other faerie. "You're joking," he said quietly. "Those scrawny things brought down Andras with a single ash arrow?"
Bastard—an absolute bastard.
“And a dagger.” You added with a feral smirk and wicked gleam in your eye.
"And a dagger," the golden-haired one said tightly, repeating what you said, tracing the rim of his goblet with finger. A long, lethal claw slid out, scraping against the metal as I fought to keep my breathing steady. Especially as he added, "They didn't try to deny it."
The fox-masked faerie sank onto the edge of the table, the light catching in his long fire-red hair. “Well,” the red-haired one seethed, "now we’re stuck with the that, thanks to your useless mercy, and you've ruined—“
I stepped forward—only a step. My body moving on its own, I didn’t care being spoken about like but… my sister. It was enough. Letting out a warning growl, sounding more animal than human, had them tensing. Even if they tried to hide it, you noticed.
You were noticing everything. As soon as you made it to the other side of the wall it was almost as if your senses were on overdrive. Like the fog had finally cleared.
"Did you enjoy killing my friend, human?" the red-haired one said. "Did you hesitate, or was the hatred in your heart riding you too hard to consider sparing him? It must have been so satisfying for a small mortal thing like you to take him down."
Scoffing, not bothering to hide the sharpness in your voice, “It doesn’t matter, whatever we say doesn’t matter, he’s gone.”
The golden-haired one said nothing, but his jaw tightened. As they studied us, I reached for my knives.
"Anyway," the fox-masked one continued, facing his companion again with a sneer. "Perhaps there's a way to— "
"Lucien," my captor said quietly, the name echoing with a hint of a snarl. "Behave."
Lucien went rigid, but he hopped off the edge of the table and bowed deeply to me. "My apologies, ladies." Another joke at our expense. "I'm Lucien. Courtier and emissary." He gestured to Feyre with a flourish. "Your eyes are like stars, and your hair like burnished gold."
Then he turned to me, eyes narrowing, mouth opening and closing before opening again, “You. You’re different. Who are you?”
He cocked his head—waiting for me to give him my name. But telling him anything about me and where I came from—
"Her name is Y/n," said the one in charge—the beast. He must have learned my name at the cottage. Those striking green eyes met mine again and then flicked to Feyre. “And that’s her sister, Feyre.”
“Sister ?” The red head questioned.
I held his gaze not wanting to give him any trace of a doubt about who I really was. What I was.
Then the blonde faerie looked to the door. "Alis will take you to your rooms. You could both use a bath and fresh clothes."
Suddenly there was a firm hand at my elbow, and I whirled around. Forgetting that I had to continue to act as humanly as possible. A rotund brown-haired woman in a simple brass bird mask tugged on my arm and inclined her head toward the open door behind us. Her white apron was crisp above her homespun brown dress- a servant. She wasn’t high fae, her ears were pointed but she had tree-bark like skin.
We'd barely made it a few steps before Lucien growled, "That's the hand the Cauldron thought to deal us? They brought Andras down? We never should have sent him out there—none of them should have been out there. It was a fool's mission." His growl was more bitter than threatening. "Maybe we should just take a stand—maybe it's time to say enough. Dump the girls somewhere, kill them, I don't care—they’re nothing but a burden here. They'd sooner put a knife in your back than talk to you—or any of us." I tried calm my breathing, not clench my fists, but—
"No," the other bit out. "Not until we know for certain that there is no other way will we make a move. And as for the girls, they stay. Unharmed. End of discussion. Their life in that hovel was hell enough.” My cheeks heated, even while I loosened a tight breath, and I avoided looking at Alis as I felt her eyes slide to me. A hovel I suppose that’s what our cottage was when compared to this place.
"Then you've got your work cut out for you, old son," Lucien said. Maybe they can even train with the others on the border."
A snarl of irritation resonated through the air. From the blonde.
And before realizing what I was doing I pulled out of Alis’s hold, walking right up to Lucien, pushing him against the wall. You heard a chair scrap back and Lucien lifted a hand—stopping him. Stopping the other high fae. My left forearm braced against his throat as my right hand now gripped one of my ash daggers, pressing it against his ribs—angling it at his heart.
“Watch it.” My voice was lethally soft as I whispered my confession, quiet enough for only him to hear I leaned in, “I didn’t want to kill him. I said a prayer for him in his final moments. I stayed with him until his last breath. Holding him, trying to comfort him and let him know he wasn’t alone. But if your high lord, you or anyone tries to come after my sister I will kill you. All of you. I won’t even use this dagger or an ash arrow… I’ll rip you apart with my bare hands.”
When you leaned back, his face was pale. In that moment you let him take in the death promise in your eyes before giving him a wicked smirk. Heading back towards Alis and Feyre.
The shining, spotless halls swallowed us up before I could hear what the blonde was saying to him.
****
Alis led us through halls of gold and silver until we came to a lavish bedroom on the second level. Alis led me into one and three other servants ushered Feyre into the one across the hall. “Alis.”
“Yes ?”
“If they hurt her, I’ll-“
“She’s safe.” She promised.
I’ll admit I didn’t fight that hard when Alis and two other servants—also masked—bathed me, cut my hair, and then plucked me.
I took one look at the velvet turquoise dress Alis had placed on the bed and wrapped my white dressing gown tightly around me, sinking into a chair and pleading for my old clothes to be returned. Alis refused, “Princess, why would you want to wear those rags again ?”
I stiffened at the word, the title—Princess.
“Don’t be so shocked. I can see your mother in you, Princess.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
She stared at me, and when I held her stare telling her I hadn’t worn a dress in years, and wasn’t about to start now, she stormed out. Not when I wouldn’t be able to move freely in it, to fight in it. For Feyre and I if it came down to it.
Bundled in my robe, I sat for minute after minute, the chattering of small birds in the garden beyond the windows the only sounds. The bedroom was larger than our entire cottage. Its walls were pale green, delicately sketched with patterns of gold, and the moldings were golden as well. I might have thought it tacky had the ivory furniture and rugs not complemented it so well. The gigantic bed was of a similar color scheme, and the curtains that hung from the towering headboard drifted in the faint breeze from the open windows. My dressing gown was of the finest silk, edged with lace—simple and exquisite enough that I ran a finger along the lapels.
The door creaked, and Alis returned a bundle of clothing in her hands. She lifted my sodden shirt. "You want to wear this?" I stared at the holes in the sides and sleeves. "It fell apart the moment the laundresses put it in water." She held up a few scraps of brown. "Here's what's left of your pants. Will you wear the dress now?" she demanded. I scoffed, I knew I should get up, should agree, but I slumped farther into my seat. Alis stared me down for a moment before leaving again.
She returned with trousers and a tunic that fit me well, both of them rich with color. A bit fancy, but I didn't complain when I donned the white shirt, nor when I buttoned the deep purplish blue, almost black tunic and ran my hands over the scratchy, golden thread embroidered on the lapels. The tunic resembling night. I rolled my eyes at her, knowing she picked this tunic for its color specifically.
Alis herded me into a low-backed chair before the darkened fireplace, and I didn’t fight back as she ran a comb through my hair and began braiding it.
"You’re hardly more than skin and bones," she said, her fingers luxurious against my scalp.
"Winter does that to poor mortals. " I said, fighting to keep the sharpness from my tone.
She huffed a laugh. "Princess, you forget yourself. You are neither poor nor mortal. What would your mother think, hmm ? What would the late Princess Rhaenyra think? ”
Meeting her gaze through the mirror, making sure to speak low enough so only she could hear you, even if it was just the two of you. You spoke through clenched teeth, “I’m only going to say this once. I’m not who you think I am. The princess you knew is dead, she died when her mother did eleven years ago. That princess lost everything when she lost her mother. So this is the last time I’m telling you this, I’m not “Princess Y/n”. I’m just Y/n.”
Alis gave a curt nod, something like sadness lacing her features. She remained quiet as she finished braiding my hair. But once she was done, she placed her hand on my shoulder and finally spoke. “Be careful. Keep your wits about you. Some folk are bound to be upset about Andras. Yet if you ask me, Andras was a good sentinel, but he knew what he would face when he crossed the wall—knew he'd likely find trouble. And the others understand the terms of the Treaty, too —even if they might resent your presence here, thanks to the mercy of our master. So keep your head down, and none of them will bother you. Though Lucien—he could do with someone snapping at him, which you obviously have courage for."
When she realized you weren’t going to say anything, she gently squeezed your shoulders and then moved to open the door to the hall.

Finishing up the five little lunches you headed to your girlfriends shop. You often made her and her coworkers meals, knowing that they probably didn’t eat much throughout the day. You learned to cook for them, wanting to make healthy and delicious lunches that they’d love. The guys appreciated what you did for them, you’d make them food and in return they’d fix your car for free whenever needed. Walking into the dealership you you saw Steve and Bucky working on one car and Nat along with Tony on the other. Nat was under the car, meaning you could see her large bulge through her grey sweatpants. You bit your lip as you remembered all the times she used her long cock to fuck you into oblivion. The three guys rushed over to you and took their own containers, walking over to the large table to eat after sending rushed thank you’s. Nat rolled out from under the car and stood up to walk over to you, stopping to give you a kiss and grab her own chicken sandwich with mashed potato’s, asparagus and a water bottle. Seeing her in her dirty tank top covered in oil turned you on more than it really should’ve. Her biceps were out and you admired them, wanting to reach up and grab onto them. The sweat covering her forehead made you think of her like this in a different setting, a less pg setting. She walked the two of you into her office, telling the guys you both were going to eat in her office. They nodded, not really listening as they were too engrossed in eating. She closed the door behind you two as you sat down on her desk, legs swinging over the metal table. Nat closed the blinds as she went to sit down on her squeaky desk chair. She put her hand on your inner thigh as she ate, occasionally looking you over. You were so turned on with all of her touches, her outfit and all of her teasing, you wanted her to take you right here right now.
Catching you staring she lifted your chin, making you look her in the eyes. “My eyes are up here baby.” She said with that raspy voice of hers. She could see your embarrassed face from being caught making her laugh. You both sat in comfortable silence as you ate. She started talking about her day and the card she was fixing, even if you didn’t understand a thing she said you still listened just as much. You both talked about anything that came to mind and just appreciated being with one another. You still were horny as ever and wanted her, you wanted to suck her off so bad. You decided on trying to tease her to make her want you, getting off the desk to sit on her lap.
Once you were seated you started fanning yourself, acting as if it was hot in there. “God it’s hot in here.” You say as you go to take your shirt off. Nat watches in desire as she goes to grope your chest, feeling herself getting hard as she manhandles the plush skin. You let out exaggerated moans as you rolled your hips, hitting her cock with every movement. This went on for a few minutes, her head rolled back as you continued to grind on her, her touching your tits all over. You got off her lap much to her dismay and went on your knees infront of her. She realized what you were planning on doing and gave you a supporting grip to your head, grasping your hair in her large hands. You cupped the now large bulge, teasing her length under the confinement. Pulling down her pants and boxers you were met with her cock now springing free. Moving forward you licked her tip and jerked off the rest of her.
Nat got tired of your slow licks and urged you to continue, “Come on baby, suck my dick. Swallow my fucking cum.” She pushed you down until you were gagging. You tried to fit as much of her in your mouth as you could, but with her large length it wasn’t easy. You could feel her twitching as your tongue licked every vein and ridge.
Her legs were shaking and she new she was going to burst soon. “Fuck baby, gonna cum! You’ll lick it up all won’t you? Yeah you will, my little slut.” Her degrading words made a wet patch form in your underwear, you used her shoe to help you get off. Grinding your pussy against her work boot, occasionally hitting her leg caused you to moan around her dick, sending vibrations through her. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as she exploded in your mouth. Her moans only grew louder when she finished, watching as you sucked up every drop just like she asked of you.
“Shit, you take it so good. Wanna fuck your mouth every second.” Honestly that didn’t sound like a bad idea. You loved sucking her off almost as much as you loved her, most mornings you’d wake her up with head and when she returned home you’d blow her under the kitchen table. She said she loved your mouth more than anything, as much as she loved your pussy your tongue licking her up would always feel better. Once you swallowed all of her cum you leaned back, you thought she was going to offer eating you out or fucking you but she only leaned back and said, “Why don’t you go home and wait on your knees for me. I should be done in an hour.”

Cause Baby You’re My Muse [Chapter 9]
Tumblr media
Genre: Romance, Idol!AU, Music, Slight angst
Pairing: Mingi x Reader (y/n)
Characters: Producer!Reader, IdolLyricist!Mingi, IdolProducer!Hongjoong, Idol!Seonghwa, Idol!Yunho, Idol!Wooyoung, Idol!San, Idol!Yeosang, Idol!Jongho, cameo(s) by other celebrities
Summary: You always preferred producing underground, having an unknown face and governed by your own rules. But when you start freelancing for idol groups, you say goodbye to your lone wolf lifestyle as you learn to work with idol producers and lyricists.
Word count: 3.1K
“Wooyoung, come on, we need to go cook. Before Seonghwa scolds us. And I don’t want to be a part of the washing up crew.” You patted his arm. He whined, tightening his hold on you. You continued to squirm to try and annoy him into letting you go.
“Fine.” Wooyoung surprised you by kissing the side of your face, the small spot of skin that the mask didn’t cover on the side. You blinked in shock, holding the spot where he had kissed.
“Y-Yah, Wooyoung. You can’t do that!” Yunho, who witnessed the whole thing, yelled. Wooyoung shrugged and held your hand to bring you to the kitchen.
“We’re here.” Wooyoung said to Seonghwa and Mingi, who were taking ingredients out.
“Let me help season the meat before we grill it.” You shocked them by suddenly removing your hoodie. Mingi and Wooyoung looked away while Seonghwa naturally came over to hold your inner shirt down for you.
“Thanks.” You laughed, going to put your hoodie aside, leaving you in a plain shirt and jeans. After that, you washed your hands thoroughly.
“What?” You asked Mingi, who was staring at you.
“N-Nothing.” He blushed and cleared his throat. From what you watched on Ateez shows, the boys didn’t really seem like good cooks, except Wooyoung, who had an interest in cooking. Luckily the people you were with were the most decent cooks out of the bunch. You seasoned the steaks and chicken with salt, pepper and olive oil.
“What else should we make? We bought a lot of food from the store and the managers stocked some staples in the cupboard.” Seonghwa asked you.
“Since we’re having grilled meats and sausages, I can made some sort of pasta, roast vegetables in the oven and prawn cocktail.” You said as you looked over the ingredients.
“Alright. You’re the head chef. Just tell us what to do.” He laughed. You requested for him to grill the meats since you were not confident in grilling. Wooyoung tagged along with the oldest, leaving you with Mingi.
“I guess it’s just us, Mings.” You laughed.
“Mings?”
“Sorry, I meant Mingi.” You shook your head as you corrected yourself.
“No, it’s okay. I like it.” Mingi smiled. You met his smile before the two of you burst out laughing. Even if Mingi wasn’t a good cook, he followed your instructions well.
“I’ll do it. Just pour.” He rolled his sleeves up. You drizzled more olive oil, salt, pepper and some herbs into the bowl with the cut up vegetables.
“I toss it now?” He asked. You nodded and he got his hands in there, tossing the vegetables and making sure they were all coated well. You started baking the potatoes and pumpkin first.
“They take longer to cook so we’ll start them off. After 15 minutes, we’ll add the carrots and onions, then wait another 10 minutes before we add the remaining vegetables like the asparagus.” You explained to him. Mingi’s mouth formed an ‘o’ as he understood your logic.
“What pasta do you guys like?” You asked as you sliced the mushrooms.
“Honestly, we eat anything. The common favourite food of ours is meat. The thing we’re most picky on is vegetables but I think you know that.” Mingi laughed sheepishly.
“I do.” You giggled. He took over slicing the mushrooms for you while you sliced the garlic for the pasta.
“How much pasta do you think we will need?” You held up the packs.
“Two, at least... No, two and a half.” Mingi said. You put the three packs of pasta on the counter, ready for when the water came to a boil. A nice silence fell over the two of you, only soft hip hop music playing in the background.
“How have you been? We haven’t got a chance to go out again after that night.” Mingi broke the silence first.
“Busy. A lot of companies are outsourcing their producing for their groups’ comebacks now. I guess because it is more competitive with so many new groups emerging.” You shrugged.
“I hope you aren’t overworking...” Mingi said softly.
“Don’t worry, Mings. I’m not.” You giggled. You sliced the cherry tomatoes in half to put in the pasta. While you handled the cooking of the pasta, Mingi boiled the prawns for the prawn cocktail. He sat on the counter to peel the prawns once they were cooked and cooled. You tossed garlic and oil in the pan before throwing in the mushrooms and halved tomatoes.
“Something smells so good~” Hongjoong and Yeosang came out. You stirred the ingredients before lifting a strand of pasta up from the boiling water to test the doneness.
“Indigo, want to come live with us? You can cook for us.” Hongjoong asked.
“No thanks. I’ll stick to producing.” You scoffed. Once the pasta was cooked enough, you put it in the frying pan and tossed everything together.
There was actually so much pasta to cook, you had to cook two pans just to be able to fit everything into the pan.
“Help me put some salt and pepper. Just sprinkle it around.” You said. Yeosang did a few pinches of salt and cracked the pepper grinder around. After a final taste, you turned the flame off.
“What else is there to do?” Jongho asked.
“I’m gonna try and make cocktail sauce or some sort of sauce with what we have. To eat with the prawns.” You looked through the cupboards.
“Hmm, let’s see.” The boys all gathered around you as they watched you make the sauce. You mixed ketchup, gochujang, rice vinegar and chopped garlic together. Yunho helped you mix the bowl.
“It needs something...” You said after tasting. You squeezed some lemon inside and added some plum syrup for sweetness. After that, you nodded in approval. Yunho copied you, dipping his finger into the sauce for a taste. Then all the boys did the same.
“Mmmm!” They all nodded happily at the taste. Dinner was done. Mingi pulled the tray of roasted vegetables out of the oven. Wooyoung and Seonghwa brought the meats in. They were in awe of the food that was prepared.
“Everyone grab a plate.” Hongjoong said. The boys insisted you sit at the head of the table while they sat on either side of you. You wore your cap low so you could eat.
“Thank you for the food!” They chimed.
“It looks so good. Indigo, you’re amazing.” San said.
“I had great help.” You waved him off. They all dug in. Although you couldn’t see them with your head lowered, the sighs of happiness and slurps were an indication that they liked the food.
“Never thought vegetables could taste so good. They’re nice and sweet.” Wooyoung commented, making you laugh.
“I like the pasta. It’s so good.” Seonghwa complimented.
“I learnt a lot of small useful tips from Indigo when cooking with her.” Mingi said. You felt your cheeks heat up, you weren’t used to all these compliments from so many people.
“Honestly, Mingi is the trooper. He sacrificed his fingers and peeled all those prawns on his own.” You said. When the dinner was over and all the food was demolished, the cooking team relaxed on the couch while the others cleaned up. Although, from the sound of it, it seemed like there was some sort of deal going on between the remaining members.
“Alright, San hyung and I are on breakfast duty so the rest are cleaning.” Jongho declared as the two sat down with the rest of you.
You sat down to let the food digest for a bit before going to shower. You were starting to get uncomfortable with the smell of cooking fumes on you. Thankfully you had your own shower.
“Hyung! I’m supposed to go first!”
“Why can’t we just shower together?!”
“You know I hate that!” You laughed as you heard Jongho and Wooyoung bickering for one of the bathrooms outside. Picking up a clean mask, you wore it and emerged from your room.
“Whoever needs to can use my bathroom. I’ve finished showering and am fine with it.” You said to no one in particular.
“Are you sure?” Seonghwa asked.
“If I wasn’t sure, I wouldn’t have offered.” You raised an eyebrow. The oldest two took turns to use your bathroom since the queue for two shared bathrooms were way too long. You sat on your bed, hair in a messy bun.
“Ugh, peace and quiet here.” Hongjoong fell onto the bed the moment he came out. It was quiet unbelieveable how polite, shy and cautious he was around you when he first met you. Now, he was boldly laying on your bed, not that you minded anyway. You snorted, ignoring him as you continued looking at some stuff on your laptop.
“Seonghwa, Hongjoong’s out of the bathroom.” You informed, poking your head out. Seonghwa came in with his shower stuff a few minutes later. He hit Hongjoong’s butt.
“Yah, don’t sleep on her bed.” Seonghwa scolded. Hongjoong mumbled something incoherent, which neither you nor Seonghwa could make out.
“What?” Seonghwa laughed.
“I’m not gonna sleep here. I just want some peace and quiet away from the chaos.” Hongjoong repeated. Seonghwa scoffed and rolled his eyes before going to the bathroom to have his shower.
“Are you working on things already?” Hongjoon asked you, hauling his body closer so he could lean over to see your screen.
“Just thinking about what I can work on with all of you.” You replied.
“Ah, work tomorrow. It’s only a few more hours until you have the whole day.” Hongjoong patted your knee.
“This isn’t work. Don’t nag at me all the time.” You tapped the top of his head, making him look up at you with a glare. You giggled playfully while he rested his head on top of your knee, facing away from you, deciding to scroll on his phone. Distracted by the device, he didn’t bother you anymore.
Hongjoong couldn’t see your face but you were deep in thought, thinking about how Haneul would love all the boys. She would think that they’re so cool and funny. You can just imagine her face.
“Move.” Seonghwa shoved Hongjoong’s legs aside dove onto the remaining space at the foot of the bed. Luckily you had a queen sized bed.
“I thought you told me not to sleep here.” Hongjoong scoffed.
“Yes but I need some peace and quiet too.” Seonghwa rolled his eyes. You felt like a kid sitting with her parents in bed while they bantered. After that, they just laid there in silence, which was what they wanted.
“Kick us out when you’re tired and want to sleep. We’ll leave.” Hongjoong said to you, reaching to the back to pat your leg with his hand.
“Please, if you say that, that means we’ll be here until sunrise. She doesn’t sleep.” Seonghwa replied.
“Hey! I do sleep!” You protested. The two actually lifted their heads to give you looks.
“Just not at the same time as you.” You added, sticking your tongue out at them. After a while, with Hongjoong starting to fall asleep, Seonghwa guided him out o the room.
“Goodnight.” You wished each other before closing your room door. Checking the time, you knew you should go to sleep if you were going to wake up in the morning. But as you laid on the bed, you found it hard to fall asleep. Maybe because you were not in a familiar place and this wasn’t your bed. You sighed in frustration as you sat up.
“I need a drink.” You got up and went downstairs. It was dark so you used the flashlight from your phone to navigate to the kitchen. There wasn’t much in the fridge but you did find San’s chocolate milk.
“Sorry, San. I’ll pay you back.” You opened the carton and drank the beverage. You leaned against the counter, scrolling on your phone.
“Ah!” Someone shouted and you jumped, immediately lifting the collar of your shirt to try and cover your face.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were there.” You reached for the light switch and turned on the see Mingi standing there with his hands over his eyes, like a child playing peekaboo.
“Oh, it’s just you.” You sighed.
“I-I’ll go.” He squeezed his eyes shut as he tried to blindly reach for a wall to guide himself back to where he came from.
“It’s fine.” You didn’t care. Or rather, you were dealing with the frustration of being unable to sleep that Mingi seeing your face was the least of your problems. Especially since he has seen your face before.
“Y-You sure?”
“Yeah. What are you doing up? Can’t sleep?” You asked, taking your previous position on the counter, leaning on your elbows. Mingi chuckled when he saw you drinking San’s chocolate milk. He nodded in reply to your question, sliding onto the bar stool across you. You turned to the fridge to get him a drink. He took one of Wooyoung’s strawberry juices.
“What about you? Can’t sleep too?” Mingi asked back. He was trying his best to keep this conversation normal and not as if you were openly revealing your face to him.
“Mhmm, I think it’s an unfamiliar surrounding... Or maybe I just have a lot on my mind.” You shrugged.
“Want to move to the terrace to sit? Just like our late night coffee runs.” Mingi suggested. You liked the sound of that, so you agreed.
“Careful.” Mingi brushed the seat before you sat down. It was dark so your face was more hidden but Mingi thought it would make you more comfortable around him, knowing that he couldn’t really see you.
“Is it the work that’s bothering you?” Mingi asked. You hummed in contemplation for a while.
“No. I think work is the only thing that’s keeping me going now. And being with you guys just makes work that much more enjoyable.” You replied.
“What about family?” You really paused at Mingi’s mention of family. How much were you willing to tell him now? Things that no one else has ever known before. Even the ‘friends’ you had, didn’t know about your family.
“I’ve not spoken to my parents in years. I don’t know where they are now, how they’re doing. And to be honest, I don’t even know if they’re alive.” You replied. Mingi thought for a while on how to proceed, mentally scolding himself for touching such a sensitive subject.
“Sorry, that was cruel of me to say.” You corrected.
“No, it’s okay. I shouldn’t have just asked so casually.” Mingi shook his head. You looked at him, letting out a soft chuckle.
“Why not? It’s normal to, right? My parents were just never around. I started working underground and producing very young, would sneak out to work and earn money. Once I was old enough, packed up and left.” You explained.
“Is that why you keep your identity a secret?”
“Yeah, that’s part of the reason. I wasn’t supposed to be working so everything had to be a secret.” You said.
“Must have been hard...” Mingi couldn’t imagine, a younger you, being alone and having to work in such a harsh, critical industry.
“But it made me the person I am today, which I am grateful for. I gained a lot of independence and my love for music hasn’t died. It only grows stronger.” You smiled with a giggle.
“My parents let me join a dance academy because I loved to dance. That’s where I met Yunho. But sometimes I wonder if they regret letting me join it since I decided to become an idol.” Mingi confessed.
“Why?”
“Besides my members, my parents are the ones who saw all the hardships I’ve gone through and am still currently going through as an idol. My mum was saying the other day that maybe I wouldn’t suffer so much if I hadn’t become an idol. But I guess the reality is that every career, every life has it’s own share of harships.” Mingi shrugged.
“I agree, there’s no life without hardships. But parents feel the... need? The purpose... To protect their children from as much hardship as possible.” You tried to reason.
“What about Dean sunbaenim?” Mingi asked.
“Oh, he’s just a friend. Honestly, Hongjoong and Seonghwa are more of my parents than my real parents, or older brothers. Hyuk and I are friends but he doesn’t know much about me, personally.” You explained.
“I don’t mean anything insulting when I ask this or rather, I don’t know how to ask this but... doesn’t it get lonely?”
“After so long, I think I’ve internalised it. I throw myself into work.” You said.
“But not having someone to talk to or share your bad days with... It takes a toll on someone... I can’t imagine having to just always keep it in...” Mingi frowned. You turned to him, eyes widening.
“Why are you crying?” You asked softly, reaching out to cup his cheeks and wipe his tears.
“Ah, I don’t know! Sorry.” He pulled back in embarrassment. He turned away and wiped his face with the sleeves of his sweater.
“It’s okay. I think Ateez has helped me be more open with my emotions. I’m learning to depend on people, thanks to you guys. So I don’t have to keep everything in anymore when I have all of you.” You smiled crookedly. Mingi laughed through his crying.
“Mings, don’t cry! Really, my life isn’t that tragic.” You slapped his arm. Reaching over, you hugged him tightly. Mingi slowly put his arms around your waist to hug you back, his actions full of hesitation.
Mingi felt you bunch the material of his sweater in your fists to keep yourself stable. You were trying not to let your emotions get the best of you.
“We should go to bed before Hongjoong kills us for being late.” You giggled. Mingi nodded but waited for you to break the hug first. You kept your smile but your eyes were glassy.
“Please don’t tell anyone I cried.” Mingi chuckled, trying to make the atmosphere more lighthearted.
“Whatever we share here is always a secret, right?” You nudged him. He nodded, knowing you were referring to you revealing your face to him.
“Let’s go.” You grabbed your empty milk container and threw it away.
“Goodnight, Mings.”
“Goodnight, Indigo.” He smiled softly, watching you disappear into your room before going to his. As he quietly slipped into his shared bed with Yunho, Mingi felt a warmth in his chest. For some reason, he found it a lot easier to fall asleep than at the start of the night. His mind was at ease and his heart wasn’t racing, he felt relaxed.

“This is definitely raw,” I whispered to myself, sighing heavily. I prodded at the piece of chicken on the plate in front of me with my fork, trying my best not to look absolutely repulsed. It smelled good. It just didn’t look white enough on the inside for me to trust it.
Granted, I knew absolutely squat about cooking, so maybe I was wrong. There was a good chance my appetite was just gone, having been completely miserable throughout the entire four hours of this wedding so far.
Everyone was all gathered on the dance floor, having the time of their lives. I knew I needed to put some food in me, and I was exhausted, so no dancing for me. Especially not in these heels.
That being said, I was sitting at my table, alone. I watched my sister and her newly wedded husband dance around in circles, bumping into other couples every so often. What a total circus.
I sighed, getting up with my plate to pick out something else to eat. Most of the options were torn through already. I decided to play it safe and avoid meat, so I settled for some asparagus. It really isn’t as bad as a lot of people preach.
I really wanted a cigarette.
“Hey,” I heard a voice from behind me. A hand lightly nudged my arm, just out of reach.
It was Trey, one of the groomsmen. He was my partner when we walked down the aisle, meaning we’d had quite a lot of time to get to know each other a little during rehearsals and parties and whatnot.
“Hey,” I said calmly.
“Where have you been?” he asked me, smiling. “I’ve been shakin’ ass for like, thirty minutes. All by myself.”
I rolled my eyes. “My feet are killing me,” I said, looking at him with the most innocent eyes I could muster.
I knew Jimmy, my sister’s new husband, had known Trey from like, way, way back. Apparently they’ve been friends since they were 14. I also learned from Jimmy that Trey used to get so nervous when talking to girls that he’d have to go to the restroom and throw up. Part of me wondered if that was still something he struggled with. Probably not; I could tell Trey was a huge flirt. He’d just be torturing himself all the time if that were the case.
Trey’s blue eyes looked dark in the dim light. The only thing illuminating the dining space was the soft glow of tea candles at the centerpiece of each table. It was quite romantic.
“You can dance. C’mon. At least just one song,” Trey insisted, bargaining with me as he followed me back to my table. “Please?”
I felt just a little bit bad, but I really did not want to dance. I know it’s horrible, but I kind of wanted my sister to notice what an awful time I was having. She was older than me and had spent most of our childhood bullying and tormenting me, so I was a little bit of a fiend for validation and care from her.
It also didn’t help that she just married my ex-fiance. But, you know, it’s all good. Whatever.
“I don’t know,” I mumbled, having sat back down. I stared down at my food, having lost my appetite yet again.
“Can I at least sit with you?” Trey asked me. I nodded, clearing my belongings off of the chair next to me so he could sit. He’d ditched his blazer somewhere and was now just left in a white dress shirt with no necktie or anything. I have to say, he looked pretty handsome, the first few buttons of his shirt undone, hair all messy and whatnot.
Trey sat with me and watched everyone scream the lyrics of Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond while I worked on my asparagus, nibble by nibble. He was a nice guy. He always sort of stuck to my side, hanging out with me whenever we had free time during the wedding rehearsals. He always came dressed in pajamas with some stubble on his face. Tonight was the first time I’d seen him looking so sharp and dapper.
After the song was over, he turned towards me again.
“You don’t like weddings,” Trey stated, resting his head in his palm.
I didn’t look up from my plate, shaking my head as I slowly chewed and swallowed the vegetable. It was becoming increasingly more difficult to eat.
“How come?” he asked me.
“It’s a long story,” I said quietly. “And I don’t wanna ruin your night. Or Jimmy’s. Or Amy’s, for that matter.”
“Well, you already ruined my night. By being a party-pooper.”
I scoffed, looking at him and rolling my eyes. He was just teasing me. He did that a lot.
“Just give me the short version,” he continued, scooting closer to me. Trey was sitting on the edge of his seat, his knee rapidly bouncing with anticipation.
A heavy sigh escaped me and I dropped my fork. I rubbed my temples, taking a deep breath, before tucking my hair behind both ears.
“Someone here stood me up at the altar,” I huffed, putting my hands in my lap. I gave Trey a look that read something along the lines of, Are you happy now?
He tilted his head and furrowed his eyebrows. “Who? When?” he asked.
“I thought you said you wanted the short version,” I said.
“Well, now I’m curious. I wasn’t expecting that. Tell me more,” he pressed, leaning closer to me.
I sighed through my nose, looking down at my lap. I swallowed and started picking at my fingernails.
“You can’t tell anyone,” I said. “Not that they don’t know already, it’s just… I don’t wanna bring up old shit, y’know?”
“Yeah, yeah. I gotcha. Just tell me,” Trey said. God, why is he so eager?
I took a deep breath, letting my forehead sit in my hands to avoid making eye contact with him. I knew his response wasn’t going to be to hug me and tell me that I had every right to be miserable, but part of me really wanted his consolation. I wondered if telling him this would revoke his status as someone I felt safe with here. The only person I felt safe with here.
“I was supposed to get married last March. To Jimmy,” I mumbled. I felt like curling up into a ball and hiding under the table. I wanted to be buried alive at that moment.
“You have to be joking,” Trey said quietly.
“I’m not joking.”
“I didn’t know Jimmy was a fucking idiot,” he laughed.
I hummed. “Yeah. He’s the idiot,” I repeated.
“I mean, at least you didn’t have to go through all that court bullcrap, right?” he said. “Divorce fucking sucks.”
I’d somehow ended up subconsciously gripping my hair to the point of it almost being ripped out of my head. Trey probably didn’t mean to stress me out so much, but I wished he’d been more sensitive about it. I thought I’d gotten over it until rehearsals started happening.
I don’t even think I was mad at Jimmy anymore. I was just mad at myself. I felt like a complete idiot about the entire thing. I looked like a complete idiot too; I’d gotten into my dress and had my hair and makeup done and all, and I didn’t have a single second thought the entire time leading up to the actual ceremony. I really underestimated my naivety that day.
“Hey,” Trey hummed.
I sighed and looked at him. I didn’t tear up at all. I was just irritated. I felt sick and Trey wasn’t being helpful whatsoever.
I noticed his throat shift slightly as he swallowed. “We don’t have to dance,” he said softly. “It sucks that you have to kinda relive everything.”
“And everyone knows. Almost every single person here was invited to my wedding. It’s fucking embarrassing,” I said quietly. “And no one wants to bring it up because it’s old shit. It’s like I’m on a fucking island.”
Now I felt my throat tighten. I still felt safe with Trey. Thank God.
I wondered why Jimmy didn’t invite him to our wedding or ever have me meet him. Maybe they just weren’t in touch then.
There was a brief moment of silence where Trey sat, staring at me. I looked at him, and once our eyes met, he quickly averted his gaze down to his hands.
“My ex-fiance cheated on me,” he told me, giving me a small empathetic smile.
I swallowed as our eyes met again. I felt his warm hands gently take mine.
“With an a-capella singer,” he grimaced. “‘N I said, ‘Fuck you, Liane. I’m gonna make a movie because you cheated on me.’”
“You made a movie?” I repeated.
“Yeah, man. It’s totally sweet,” he laughed. “A humble prospector, Alferd Packer, and his party are led to certain doom by his disloyal horse, appropriately named Liane. It’s a musical.”
I shook my head, laughing.
“I have to humble myself sometimes, ‘cause if she didn’t cheat on me, I probably wouldn’t have my career,” he laughed sheepishly.
“And I’m here with my waitressing job while my sister’s out cutting Jennifer Aniston’s hair every month. And you’re a filmmaker,” I laughed, though there was nothing funny about anything I was saying.
“Well I think Jimmy’s an asshole anyway. Don’t tell him I said that,” he said, scooting closer to me again. His knees were now crazing mine.
I hummed, resting my head against my palm. Trey still held one of my hands, gently tracing over my knuckles with his thumb.
That’s when I heard Forever Young by Alphaville ring through the venue. Suddenly I was sent way the fuck back to my senior prom.
I gasped softly. I really did love this song. Even if I sat by myself in the corner, sipping on some sparkling beverage while I watched all my classmates with their dates.
Trey had become very invested in scraping a stain out of the pristine white tablecloth and seemed very shocked when he noticed me stand up.
“Up,” I said, flapping my hand to beckon him to join me. “Stand up. This is your one dance.”
I quickly slid my heels off and suddenly realized how tall Trey was. His hands tentatively slid onto my waist, holding me in place as I kicked off my second heel and held onto his shoulders.
My gaze had been focused on the floor and our feet, so my heart almost jumped out of my chest once I looked up at him and saw how close his face was to mine. I could see all of his freckles in the warm orange light of the tea candle a few feet away, accompanied by the occasional purple strobe from the dance floor.
Trey grinned, flashing his fang-like snaggletooth. He quickly smothered his smile however, instead pursing his lips together and swallowing harshly.
“Hi,” he hummed.
What a dork.
I subtly rolled my eyes. “Hi,” I said, trying not to smile at him. I could see his cheeks starting to turn a shade of pink. I guess it was kinda cute.
We started swaying, and Trey opted to hold one of my hands while his other held my waist, like a traditional ballroom dance. “You come around here often?” he said, smirking with raised eyebrows.
“No,” I giggled, swallowing.
“Me neither,” he whispered. I noticed his eyes dart down to look at my lips for a split second.
He swallowed again, gently intertwining his fingers with mine. I could barely breathe; my stomach was in knots and my heart was beating a million miles a minute. This was like my high school dream come true. I really felt like a teenager again. Just for a moment.
I looked down to make sure he wasn’t close to stepping on my toes. I decided to just stand on his feet instead, putting me up a little higher and infinitely closer to him.
“Did they play this at your senior prom?” I asked him softly.
“No,” he said, smiling. “Good thing, though. I’d be in shambles right now.”
“Why?”
“Guess who my date was,” he said.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “I didn’t have a date,” I told him.
“You do now,” he whispered.
I swallowed. Somehow Trey made me feel less alone than anyone else ever had in my entire life. I always felt alone when I was with Jimmy. We were really different.
I knew I was pretty… unconventional. Weird. Just really, really awkward all the time. I never really had anything to talk about unless it was something I was actually interested in, so small talk was a fucking nightmare for me. Trey made me feel so much more normal.
Trey cleared his throat, looking down as he leaned a little closer. “I haven’t gotten the chance to tell you how pretty you look tonight,” he whispered shyly.
“Thank you,” I whispered.
At that point, the song was unfortunately coming to a close. It was a short song. That was the worst part about it.
Trey and I just swayed back and forth, spinning around in a circle slowly to the pace of the song. Our eyes never left each other. Only after the song ended did he let go of my hand, a very sad look on his poor, sweet face.
I felt cold as I slipped out of his arms, my heart still racing from the adrenaline. Trey gave me a small smile and I backed away from him.
I looked away as I heard the crowd around the dance floor erupt in a fit of loud cheers for all the couples who danced together. It was startling and obnoxious. I fucking hate weddings.
“C’mere,” I heard Trey hum with a soft, mischievous grin on his face. One of his hands tenderly slid up to caress my cheek, while the other gently grasped my forearm. I let him pull me closer, knowing full well what he was about to do and welcoming it with open arms.
With racing hearts and withheld breaths, Trey and I came together in a slow, gentle kiss, like we were testing the waters. The hand he held my arm with quickly made its way up to my neck. His lips were warm and moved with care and patience. I didn’t hear or feel him breathing, until he let out the heaviest exhale he could muster after holding his breath. His body relaxed, bringing him even closer to me.
I pulled away, looking down at his chest. I swallowed.
“What’s wrong?” he asked nervously.
“I don’t know if we’ll ever see each other again,” I whispered.
“Well… why not?” he asked again, his voice soft as a feather.
“I live in Seattle, Trey,” I told him, laughing sheepishly.
I watched his body deflate like he was defeated. His hands had left my face and now rested idly at his sides.
“I don’t care,” he whispered. “I’ll definitely see you again.”
“You realize that I am never going to visit my sister, right?” I laughed.
“You realize we both have phones, right?” he retorted, teasing me. “And cars?”
I shook my head. Whatever. I guess I could just enjoy the moment with him.
But I wanted to see him again. I wanted to see him tomorrow and the day after and the day after that. Nothing compared to the way he’d made me feel the past few days and I didn’t want that to be gone so soon.
“We’ll figure it out. I promise,” he whispered, softly kissing me again.

always curious what people's like. staple meals and regular meals are
like the meals you regularly cook a few times in a month, for yourself or your family as well
bc for me it's like
bacon sandwiches. basic.
garlic bread
baked feta with peppers & tomatoes, oregano, olive oil, a bit of lemon juice
the lidl potato gratin with peppers, tomatoes, and spinach mixed in, again normally with olive oil and some cheese
roast chicken with roasted potatoes and root vegetables, normally carrots and parsnips
pork souvlakia, chunks of usually belly pork or chop on kebab sticks and oven grilled with or without chunks of pepper and tomato
dolmades, vine leaves stuffed with stewed rice
chicken risotto made with chicken stock on a base of butter with spring onions and bacon to toast the rice with
pasta with chicken pieces with a tomato-based sauce w more cheese and vegetables
a "greek salad" with some modifications - chunks of cucumber, tomato, red and yellow pepper, spinach leaves, red onion or spring onions, garlic granules, and then olive oil and feta chunks
parchment pastry scrolls, a spread of pastry smeared with tomato purée or similar chutney, cheese, bacon, vegetables, or mushrooms, and then cut into discs and baked
homemade burgers with beef or lamb mince, tiny chopped onions, egg, honey as a binding agent, and then fried hopefully to eat with slices of cheddar or leerdammer, bacon, and pickles/cornichons
i made a kouneli stifado a while back (whole rabbit cut into chunks, slow cooked with potatoes and root vegetables, onions, red wine, stock, etc) that i want to do more regularly bc a whole rabbit is a fiver and it feeds a LOT of people
then obvs like. various oven cooked things i don't modify, like prawn tempura or frozen calamari, etc
because i've moved and haven't set up my rice cooker or got my short grain rice again, and bc i don't have a new deep fat fryer yet, i'm not cooking like, my fresh cut chips, or maki rolls and onigiri, or a meal i'd regularly do of just like. fried eggs on rice and stuff
i used to make lasagnes more regularly and i'd like to go back to that, esp bc like... i love making latkes and once we have a nice wide frying pan it will be nice to do that more regularly, and my big thing atm is that i want to learn to cook with some new ingredients
i want to learn to do more and more interesting stuff with coconut and pineapple, i want to do more like. kormas and other diff curries, i want more green vegetables, esp asparagus and broccoli
i want to cook more with different fish and sea food bc i know i desperately need the oil for my fucked up joints and brain, i want to break more breads and savoury things, esp garlic and tearaway breads
esp bc like. my body's capacity for red meat is fucking terrible lmao, i want more fibre and less heavy protein from red meat at once so i don't just utterly eviscerate my guts lmao

Book: Open Heart, Book 2 Pairing: Dr. Ethan Ramsey x F!MC (Dr. Sawyer Brooks) Rating: Explicit Warning: 🔥NSFW, ⛔18+ Only, contains explicit sexual content Category: Fluff, Smut Word count: 2.1K Prompt: Inspired by this prompt from @liaromancewriter
Tumblr media
The nurses’ station was buzzing with activity. Behind the desk, nurses were busy answering patient call buttons. A pair of interns were at the counter, tapping lab orders into their tablets. Across from them, Ethan was poring over a stack of files.
“Hi Maureen, what’s up?” Sawyer asked, responding to the page she received a few minutes ago. “Wow, those are beautiful. Are they for a patient?” she gushed, nodding to a giant bouquet of at least two dozen red roses.
Tumblr media
“They’re for you, Dr. Brooks,” Maureen responded. “That’s why I paged you.”
“For me? Really?” An uncontrollable smile spread across Sawyer’s face as she scooted over to the vase and reached for the card.
Tumblr media
Ethan's gaze met hers as she lifted her eyes. Still wearing a giddy smile, she subtly nodded her head accepting his invitation. He winked back.
Maureen suddenly popped up in front of her, trying to get a peek of the card. “Soooo, who are they from?”
“Oh, um…” Sawyer quickly tucked the card back into the envelope, trying to think of a response. The worst part about being in a secret relationship was having to lie to keep your secret safe. It made her feel icky, so she always tried to spin the truth instead. “They’re from someone I started dating recently.”
“Anyone we would know?” the nosy nurse pressed further.
“Uh-”
“Brooks! Where are the discharge orders for Mr. Cruz? I don’t see them in his file,” Ethan called across to her, making her jump.
“Oh, I… I must have left them in the DT office. I'll put these away and grab them for you, Dr. Ramsey.”
Sawyer played along, returning the wide-eyed look on Maureen’s face that said, “Oh boy, he’s in a mood.”
Sweeping the vase off the counter, Sawyer cast another glance in Ethan’s direction, giving him an appreciative smile for the quick save.

A luxury town car dropped her off in front of Ethan’s building the following night.
Sawyer knocked gently on his door. “Coming!” she heard from inside, and a moment later, Ethan answered. His sleeves were rolled up to his elbows, and a kitchen towel was draped over his shoulder. He gestured for her to come in, then helped her with her coat, hanging it on a nearby hook. When he turned back to her, Sawyer wrapped her arms around his waist, tipping her head back to meet his eyes. “Hi.”
Ethan wrapped his arms around her, lowering his head to meet her lips in a sweet, welcoming kiss. “Hi.”
“It smells delicious. What are you making for us tonight, Chef Ramsey?”
“Georgian chicken. Since you didn’t get to try it last time,” he said, guiding her to the kitchen.
Soft music played throughout the penthouse. The living room was dim save for the warm glow cast from the crackling logs in the fireplace. The dining table was set for two, decorated with rose petals and flickering tapers set in coordinating candlesticks.
Tumblr media
“Do you want some wine?” Ethan asked, pulling her attention back to the activity in the kitchen.
“Please.” Sawyer pushed up her sleeves. “Okay, put me to work, Chef. Give me a bowl of butter and I’ll give this chicken the best massage of their life. Or rather afterlife?” she giggled.
Ethan chuckled. “Chicken’s already in the oven. I just need to saute the asparagus.”
The pan sizzled as he tossed the vegetables in. He turned them over one-handed, letting Sawyer curl into his other side. With one arm around his back, her other hand drifted up the front of his thigh until she was cupping his crotch. “I guess I’ll just have to put my skills to use elsewhere,” she purred.
“Oh no, you don’t,” he warned, dropping the tongs on the counter. Gripping her waist, he picked her up, turned around, and set her atop the kitchen island. He handed her a wine glass and kissed her forehead. “If you touch me like that, we won’t be eating dinner anytime soon. So you’re going to stay right here until the food is ready. Got it?”
“Fine,” she pouted, taking a sip of her wine. “This chicken better be worth it.”
An hour later, Sawyer had cleaned her plate and set her fork down. “That was so worth it.” She stood and moved around to Ethan’s side of the table. He scooted back to let her sit on his lap. “Thank you,” she whispered, giving him a tender kiss. She tucked her head into the crook of his neck and laced her fingers with his. She fell into a lovely trance, watching the dancing candle flames as Ethan rubbed her back. “Mmm, that feels good,” she murmured.
Ethan kissed the top of her head, then encouraged her to stand. Squeezing her hand, he said, “I’ll be right back. Do me a favor and pour us each another a glass of wine?” Then he disappeared down the hall into his bedroom.
Sawyer poured the wine, then made herself useful, carrying their dirty plates to the kitchen sink. She had just put the leftovers away when Ethan returned.
“What are you doing?” he asked, grabbing the glasses of wine from the dining table.
“Just helping clean up,” she answered.
“Leave it,” he insisted. He tilted his head toward the bedroom. “Follow me.”
When Sawyer stepped into his room, she found a trail of rose petals leading to the en suite. The bathroom was dark, save for the candles glowing around the rim of the tub. More rose petals, hundreds of them, floated on the surface of the steamy water. A fragrant aroma of roses and jasmine filled the air.
Tumblr media
Ethan set the wine glasses down next to the tub. “Come here,” he said, reaching out his hand.
Sawyer took it and let him pull her close. “I’ve been wanting to do this with you for a long time,” she confessed.
“Me too.” He lifted her shirt over her head and placed it on the counter. Reaching around her back, he unfastened her bra. Curling a finger under each of the shoulder straps, he carefully pulled it away and set it on top of her shirt.
Ethan’s knuckle traced around the pink centers of her breasts while Sawyer unbuttoned his shirt, then his jeans. She unzipped him, then took the sides of his shirt in her hands and peeled it away.
After removing their shoes and socks, Ethan slowly spun Sawyer around, pressing his warm chest against her back. His hands slid under her arms, finding and loosening the button of her pants. Moving to his knees, he tugged the waistband of both her jeans and panties downward, helping her step out of each leg. As he returned to his feet, he kissed the back of her thighs, her ass, then her shoulders.
Sawyer turned to face him and returned the favor. She pushed his pants and underwear to the floor, letting his erection slide between the valley of her breasts as she rose. Ethan grabbed the sides of her face and crashed his lips onto hers. “Do you have any idea how goddamn sexy you are?”
He stepped into the bath and sat down. Extending his hand to Sawyer, he helped her step safely into the water. Standing before him naked, Ethan admired her body. His eyes trailed from her cherry-painted lips, to her plump breasts, to her smooth sex. He leaned forward and kissed the lines of her hips, then the mound below her belly button. “You’re so beautiful.”
Sawyer lowered herself into the water, positioning herself between his bent knees. She leaned back and melted into his embrace. The warmth of the water, and the feel of his skin against hers, was a comfort like no other.
“I could get used to this,” she said softly, running her hands through the blanket of flower petals floating on the water’s surface.
“So could I,” Ethan agreed, sipping on his wine.
After a few more minutes of blissful calm, Ethan set his glass aside and reached for a sponge. He dipped it in the water, then gently nudged Sawyer forward, swiping her hair to the side. The sponge moved up and down her back, then the length of her neck, and across her shoulder before traveling down her arm. Ethan dragged it across her collar bone, then after another dip under the surface, he squeezed a stream of warm water directly over each of her breasts. Her nipples hardened in response.
When she arched her back begging for more, Ethan tossed the sponge to the other end of the tub. He pulled Sawyer back onto his lap, clamping his mouth to her neck as he reached between her legs. Her head fell back on his shoulder, and she moaned as his fingers stroked her core. With each twitch of his cock against her ass, her arousal grew more intense.
As the pleasure continued to build, she turned her head to the side. “Kiss me,” she demanded. Ethan obeyed. As their tongues met, he plunged two fingers inside of her, curling them right where he knew she'd come undone.
“Oh god… I’m going to come,” she whimpered.
He sucked her earlobe, then his warm breath caressed her ear. “Lasciati andare, bella.”
Sawyer reached behind, gripping the back of Ethan’s head, anchoring as her body shuddered with wave after wave of euphoria. “Uhnnnnn…Ethan…”
Water tepid and fingers pruned, they eventually climbed out of the tub. Sawyer shivered as she plucked a few stuck rose petals from her body. Ethan wrapped a thick towel around her shoulders and rubbed up and down her arms to rid her of the goosebumps. “Let's warm up in front of the fire. We can set up a picnic for dessert," he suggested.
“Dessert? You’re spoiling me tonight.”
Ethan kissed her cheek as he walked past and into his closet. “You deserve it.” He emerged wearing a pair of loose shorts with a t-shirt in hand for Sawyer, but she was already buttoning the dress shirt he discarded earlier. “Fuck me,” he growled at the sight.
“Oh I will... But dessert first,” she smirked, walking past him to the kitchen.
🛁🛁🛁🛁🛁🛁🛁🛁🛁
With perfect timing, a log in the fireplace cracked in two, sending sparks up the chute. “Sawyer!” Ethan cried out as he found his release. Their bodies slick with sweat, he slid off of her and collapsed onto his back, just missing the tray of strawberries and chocolate sauce he had prepared for dessert.
Tumblr media
Sawyer rolled to her side and propped herself up on an elbow. Ethan’s eyes were closed as he tried to regain equilibrium. She kissed his cheek and started tracing shapes on his chest. “Thank you for tonight, Ethan… and for the flowers yesterday. Who would have guessed you were such a romantic?” His lips turned up in a small smile. “Though, given your love of opera, I guess it shouldn’t come as such a surprise.”
He opened his eyes and turned his head to her. “I wanted to make up for some of the time I wasted before,” he explained. “Was it too much?”
Sawyer cupped his cheek. “Not at all, babe,” she assured him, using the term of endearment for the first time. “I loved it.” She leaned down and kissed him softly. “You pulled out all the stops. I’ve never had anyone do the things you did for me.”
He combed his fingers through her hair and looked her in the eyes. “You deserve nothing less, Rookie. I’ll have to think of some new ways to sweep you off your feet in the future.”
“Tonight has been incredible, and consider me swept… But Ethan, I don’t need love letters every day.”
“I know, but I like showing you how much you mean to me.”
“That’s easy, babe. Just smack me on the butt and say, ‘I’m glad that ass is mine,’” she laughed.
“That easy, huh?”
“Mmm hmm,” Sawyer hummed. Sitting up and reaching across him, she plucked a strawberry from the tray.
“Good to know."
After dipping the strawberry in the chocolate, Sawyer held a hand underneath it as she brought it to her mouth for a bite. Moving her hand away at just the right moment, the chocolate sauce dripped onto Ethan's abs. “Whoops, my bad,” she smiled wickedly. Licking her lips, she lowered her head, “Let me get that for you.”
🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓
Two days later, Sawyer rode the elevator up to the fifth floor with Sienna. When the steel doors slid open, she looked up to find Ethan waiting on the other side. She smiled and winked as Ethan waited for her roommate to exit.
Ethan’s shoulder rubbed Sawyer’s as they crossed over the threshold at the same time. Then… SMACK! Sawyer jumped when the palm of his hand slapped her ass cheek. Safely on the other side, she turned to face him with a questioning look on her face.
Ethan leaned forward to punch the button for the lobby. Then he looked at Sawyer. As the doors began to close, he smiled. “Mine.”

Bucky looks down at the address he had written on his metal palm in sharpie, then back up at the house he's standing infront of. "Really hope Sam didn't give me the wrong address..." He mumbles as he goes up to the door, knocking with his normal hand. He'd been struggling to make friends due to the whole Winter Soldier thing and heard Scott was easy to befriend. He could hear the familiar Russian voice in the back of his head nagging at him that friends are a waste of time and he should focus on work, but for the time being he didn't have any and his court mandated therapist said to try and socialize the soldier too
Scott's got his hands full cooking dinner. He's got garlic chicken on his countertop grill, roasted asparagus and roasted potatoes in the oven, corn on the stove, and he's waiting to throw his rolls in the oven too.
And there's a knock at the door. "Huh." He wasn't expecting anybody. "Wonder who that could be..."
He wipes his hands on a dishcloth before he hurries to the door, eager to get back to the kitchen to make sure everything stays good to go. But when he opens the door, he's in for a surprise. "Oh!" Scott blinks a few times in surprise. "Uhh Bucky, right? It's been a while, man. How've you been?"

Cultural mixing
Pairing: Zelina Vega x Fem reader
Description: You and your girlfriend make each other meals from your cultures
Tumblr media
You smile making fried green tomatoes while music plays throughout the kitchen waiting for your girlfriend to come home. You decided to make a few southern dishes you grew up eating with your family to show more of your culture to Zelina, you first made cajun baked catfish with a roll and asparagus followed by homemade barbequed pork and chicken with mashed potatoes and corn then finally your mom's recipe of fried green tomatoes with peas, sweet corn, and mashed potatoes keeping them warm in the oven until zelina came home and sat down after showering and changing "Hey baby i got a few things for you" you hand her the barbeque which she groans in joy while eating and smiles at you while eating "Oh my god this is amazing". The next day for lunch you both eat fried green tomatoes and she immediately is stunned and in awe as she eats until she is finished "Baby you gotta make these again soon Jesus" then later that same day you both have cajun baked catfish and she just swallows it after squeezing lemon juice over it "Damn Mija! You gotta make this for Rey and the boys!" you laugh but keep the promises, making a big batch of the catfish later that week and bringing it backstage where her friends immediately are in awe as they eat even taking leftovers home with them, you make another batch this time of the mixed barbecue which everyone also enjoyed even taking batches to other wrestlers including the bloodline, judgement day, Kevin Owens, and Liv Morgan then you made more fried green tomatoes this time in two big batches which every single person backstage eats with the homemade sweet and spicy sauce you made. You walk in the door from work to a mouth watering smell seeing zelina cooking "Ah mi vida your home!" you share a kiss before sitting down for dinner "I made you one of my favorites, pinchos they're chicken skewers" you try it and instantly melt as you continue eating "This is amazing!" the next day you groan in hunger at the delicious smell throughout the house "Another Puerto Rican classic bebe Arroz con pollo" you are in awe as you eat the rice and chicken meal full of many flavors at once followed by a flan dessert which was very tasty, later that week you walk in from work with a smile when you smell food cooking in the kitchen "More Puerto Rican flavor! Bistec encebollado" you are full of joy eating the steak and onions with rice and roasted peaches which added a unique flavor you would never forget "God thank you for sharing these with me baby" she smiles giving you a gentle kiss "Thank you for sharing yours with me mi dulces" you both smile everytime you smell the familiar scents of these meals and new smells of meals you made from your cultures to each other later on.

teenyweeny little bitty connie event
[post-stuffing, tummy rubs]
Sometimes, Connie thought, Val was too good a cook.
She had this thought from time to time. Right now, for example, sitting at the table with her belly bulging drum-tight over the waist of her pants, which were threatening to pop open if she ate another bite. She usually had the self control to keep from overstuffing herself, but sometimes, well, Val was just too good a cook.
Connie sighed and leaned back in her seat, resting her hands on her belly, stuffed full of perfectly tender chicken, crispy roasted potatoes, garlicky asparagus, and soft, fluffy, fresh-baked rolls. She supposed she'd start to look like one of those rolls herself if she kept letting Val make such fantastic dinners.
"You're not too full for dessert, are you?"
"Oh my god, Val, I'm stuffed," she groaned, and he gave her a cheeky smile. He hadn't needed to ask; he knew perfectly well how full she was.
"That's alright, we can save it for later," he chuckled, rising from his seat to clean up. "Or tomorrow." He leaned down to kiss her cheek as he took her empty plate, and she caught him around the waist with her arm, giving him a gentle squeeze before letting him go. Ordinarily she would've gotten right up and helped, but right now getting up seemed like a monumental task. She remained for a moment, feeling her belly rumbling under her hand as it strained against the enormous dinner that had been stuffed into it. Then, finally, she pushed herself out of the seat.
Val had already packed up the leftovers and was now busy at the sink. Connie snuck up behind him and wrapped her arms around him, her bloated tummy pressing against his back, then grabbed a dish towel and started drying. Val was a master of cleaning as he cooked--Connie's strategy was more along the lines of throwing it all in the sink and hoping a robber broke in and got rid of it--and it wasn't long before their cozy little kitchen looked nicer than it had when they'd started.
The couple started for the living room, and Val, ever-romantic, scooped Connie up in his arms and carried her to the couch. She giggled and threw her arms around him. She was always surprised he could carry her; Val was a slender little thing, and Connie had a handful of inches and close to a hundred pounds on him. Truthfully, the spectacle was a little ridiculous; carrying her wasn't the easiest task in the world, and he fell clumsily back onto the couch with her across his lap. Her belly gurgled unhappily at the unceremonious drop.
She shifted herself upright next to him and he leaned against her side, resting a hand on her round belly. It was still soft, of course, but just below that softness he could feel her tightly-packed stomach pushing out solid as a rock. A low grumble bubbled along under his hand as her belly struggled to digest everything. Gently, he began to rub in slow circles, slipping his hand under her shirt as he massaged softly, and she melted at the soothing sensation. His hand was wonderfully warm and comforting on her taut belly.
"You are spoiling me, mister," she said, putting an arm around him and giving him a squeeze.
"It's hard not to."
"Oh, please," she giggled.
"It's true! You make it difficult, Connie," he grinned, nuzzling his face against her neck. He grabbed her soft tummy gently as he hugged her, and she lifted her hand to bury it in his thick graying hair, slowly combing through it with her fingers as they held each other. They remained like that for some time, Connie's overstuffed belly slowly growing more relaxed as its contents settled, until they dozed off in each other's arms.

ive been collecting all my “quick and easy” posts, but i sometimes delete old photos so its an endless loop :/
on a bigger recipe i have
chicken pasta with roasted vegetables
ingredients:
spaghetti
chicken breast(s)
vegetables and greens of your liking, i used asparagus, cherry tomatoes and spinach.
i also used basil for the chicken
may i remind you, that as a non native english speaker i sometimes get gems like this one lol
Tumblr media
but anyway, clean your vegetables, chop ‘em up, sprinkle some salt and a dash of olive oil, throw in the oven.
Tumblr media
DONE ✔️
now, for chicken.
i cut mine up into smaller pieces and really wanted to pound it for a smoother texture, but didn’t have the special mallet, decided to use a rolling pin aaaandddd…..
because of uneven force distribution it got roughed up pretttttty bad 😗 so don’t be like me, peeps. think first.
anyway, i fried the chicken till a nice brown crisp with some fresh rosemary and basil
that grew MYSELF on a windowsill !!! yay me
Tumblr media
boil the spaghetti i really hope i don’t have to explain the steps to it…
and here you can see how nicely i plated everything. good job, lex!
Tumblr media
thanks for reading, have a nice cooking sesh 🐭

Now that I'm fully awake and have my brain scraped together after a Very Bad night's sleep.... to-do list time!!
First, the dishes; ideally clearing the sink entirely
Clean kitchen surfaces and sweep/vacuum the floor (full clean will be tomorrow)
Lemon cupcake recipe test -- this should be the final iteration!
Write recipes for the Spring Equinox (at least the chicken, asparagus/sauce, and salad dressing today)
Set up the free tarot post & prep for livestream & go live on time (8pm-ish?)
One plot point or basic scene description for The Coming Storm
Finalize must-haves for the map of Evermore Rest for Mother May I
And that's it. I'm really reaching for the stars here since I am... man, I'm tired. My head kinda hurts and everything feels very hard right now, but that may be a need for momentum. Hopefully making this list is the catalyst I need to actually... [gestures] do this shit. It's gotta get done!!
Breaks are not online; I have a couple books set aside to minimize eye strain since Brain Hurt. There are a couple things I'm okay with dropping for energy conservation purposes -- sweeping can wait until tomorrow, and so can the map thing. I don't have a deadline for the next session since it isn't planned yet, but I still want to get it rolling so I can take my ideas from theory to practice.
ALRIGHT. Time to move.
Yeehaw.
