me: wouldn’t the world be a quieter place if i just didn’t argue and engage in discourse meaninglessly :)
me: *seeing people deny the existence of dark skinned asians and mixed people, thinking all asian people have to look how they think asians should look and having this colourist and racist misconception of asian people as a whole* maybe i’m allowed to be a lil loud :)

I want to thank everyone who took the time to support me this far. And I'd also like to welcome everyone that is new here! There will be lots more Gyutaro content to come ~ ♡
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gyutaro doesn’t understand his romantic feelings towards you. He expresses them in ways that are difficult for you to decipher. So he just acts on impulse. Usually having no filter or boundaries.
Treats you like a toy. Similar to how a vindictive child would treat a small puppy.
He’ll make you cry just so he can be the one to comfort you in the end.
As a demon, he thinks he’s superior to you in every way. The only thing you have going for you is your pretty face and beautiful body.
He’ll coo and hold you close, complimenting your beauty only to claw at you flesh. Leaving wounds and bruises on your most beautiful features. He wants to destroy your beauty out of envy, but yet it’s what attracts him to you.
Before him, your life was meaningless. So now that he’s here, you don’t exist outside of him. Without him you are nothing. Which is why he keeps you stored in his sister’s obi whenever he’s away. Sometimes leaving you for days before he wants to play with you again.
Gyutaro grew a soft spot for you because of your juxtaposition. You don’t show disgust towards things that most people consider revolting, like reptiles or people that look different from you, but yet you are the most beautiful human he’s ever seen.
Every time Gyutaro thinks of your beauty, he claws deep red wounds into his flesh, fantasizing about gutting you alive, slitting your throat while digging his hands through your intestines. But the way that you look at him prevents him from doing so. You look at him with fear in your eyes, but without a hint of disgust. After 100 years of hunting humans, Gyutaro knows the difference.
It infuriates him that he can’t bring himself to hate you for your beauty. This frustration is always taken out on you. In the form of cuts and bruises.
But after being held captive for so long, you’ve learned how to behave around him. And things do get better.
Gyutaro is incredibly intelligent, he just doesn’t understand emotions. Especially ones that he never even got to experience as a human, let alone a demon.
He can read you like a book. Always aware of when you are plotting an escape attempt or when you are lying to him. You learn quickly that there’s no point in trying to fool him.
The thing is, eventually you have grown a soft spot for the demon. The few moments that he is vulnerable with you, have shown you a beauty that you thought impossible for a creature such as himself.
After an argument with his sister, he’ll show you a side of him that you’ve never seen before. The sadness and deep anguish that he holds within himself. No one deserves to have such pains. Even a man-eating demon like Gyutaro.
You want to comfort him and heal his wounds.
As a demon, Gyutaro doesn’t have much sexual desire. He feels no biological urge to reproduce. The only urge within him is to destroy and devour.
But when you’re around, that all changes. Something within him yearns for your touch, your love.
He’s seen humans have sex before, and even though he doesn’t quite understand it, he wants to try. It’s not uncommon for Gyutaro to witness humans having sex in the district. But now, everytime he sees such things, he imagines what it’d be like to do it with you. The tent forming in his pants isn’t anything he hasn’t seen before, but there’s an urgency behind it now. Whereas before he’d be able to ignore it. But now it seems to control his every thought. Blood and carnage replaced by thoughts of your fragile body lying beneath his.
Gyutaro isn’t embarrassed about his desire to have sex with you. He will be completely open and up front with you about it, because he’s been surrounded by sex his entire life. So to him it’s just a normal thing that humans do. He doesn’t understand the social norms/stigmas surrounding sex.
During your first time having sex, it will be the first time that he’s careful with you.
Once he is accustomed to having sex with you, he will start being more rough. Pulling your hair, biting your neck, and thrusting his hips into you so hard that you bruise.
He’s touch starved, so it makes sense that he gets overwhelmed by the pleasure of having sex with you. He loses himself in you. Fucking you like his life depends on it, moaning and groaning with every thrust.
Even after he fills you up with his cum, he won’t stop.
He keeps going until he can see that you are exhausted. He may be selfish but he still cares about you. He doesn’t want to push you too far past your limit and risk breaking you.
Surprisingly he’s big on aftercare. Most of the time he’ll fuck you til your legs stop working, so he takes initiative in cleaning you up and tucking you into bed. He loves cuddling you and feeling you tremble in his arms from having orgasmed so many times.
Your sexual experiences with Gyutaro changes your relationship drastically. His feelings for you start to come through in less toxic ways as he begins to understand his feelings. But when he gets annoyed by them or they become too strong, he thinks that having sex will make it go away. When in reality they just make these potent emotions even stronger.
Showing affection towards him will usually calm him down. Once you are able to love him and he can accept your love, things get much easier for the both of you.
It will take lots of time, and the likelihood of surviving that long is slim. But if you do, it’ll be well worth it.

Can i request up for a Miles Edgeworth and Franziska Von Karma with a younger sibling!reader who's also clever as them however reader doesn't use their 100% braincells most of the time unless it's necessary?
If that's a bit difficult to write for, it's alright! You can do just a Younger Sibling!Reader general headcanons if you like
Oooooo I love writing silly little guys don’t you even worry. I may have self projected a tad bit on the reader because <3 me too <3 also I hope I interpreted this right? sorry if not! I focused a lot on how this affects sorta your relationship with them, so sorry if it’s short </3
Warning: slight angst, mentions of family tension, etc etc.
-
Considering you aren’t always on your A-game, people like to chat about and talk about you due to your well renowned family- and they don’t always say the nicest of things, unfortunately.
Miles, at all points in time, looks to defend you against peoples (very incorrect) idea that you got the short end of the stick when it comes to cleverness. In his own words, “You aren’t stupid, you’re just too intelligent to waste intellectual energy on any and all meaningless meandering.” It’s his nice way of referring to you as low-energy.
Franziska is a special sort. She will always look to challenge you and your deductions on any sort of case, looking to exploit your low energy to prove a point. While she doesn’t do it out of true malice, it can sometimes feel kinda bad too. Franziska considers herself cut from a very different cloth- she herself is unable to pick her battles, and instead feels she must pick them all. It doesn’t always work out for her in the long run.
That being said, it must be noted that Franziska doesn’t dislike you in any sort of way- quite the opposite. She has a bit of tunnel vision on how people should be in a court of law, and she worries others will exploit your low energy like she does in your meaningless little squabbling back at forth. In a way, it’s her way of challenging you to try and teach you. Unlike Miles, I don’t she quite understands that you’re picking your battles on purpose to conserve energy. She’s being supportive in the way she knows how, but it doesn’t always land. It can just feel like a mean big sister taking jabs at you sometimes, and it doesn’t even always help “improve” your critical thinking or anything- sometimes it just wounds your ego.
Miles, while worrying for you, always has faith in your ability. during the trials you were his aid in court, he willingly swats away the defenses attempts at dissecting your every word to catch you in an inconsistency so that you can focus and get to the major point. Miles always has faith due to what he calls your “gotcha” moment- the final and usually fatal blow you make to a defense’s argument that is iron clad. Miles revels in the discomfort of the defense and the court as they are completely unable to argue against your final claims, as he feels it must be something that heals your spirit after what the ignorant public say about you. He’s fine with taking the risk of you leading yourself to your main point- he’s taken much worse risks than letting you build your case as you speak. He even finds it a little fun- it’s suspenseful watching you go from the seemingly ditzy court aid to a big dog in the ring as the trial goes on.
Franziska on the other hand doesn’t quite like to risk it. She’s a very “I don’t need help, I never need help” type, so she doesn’t usually have an aid in court anyway. But in the rare cases that she takes your help, she still expects to do most of the “heavy lifting” per se. It isn’t that she doesn’t trust you, it’s that she absolutely does not trust the defense to not exploit you into accidentally destroying the case you and her spent so long working on. Franziska doesn’t like to take risks, it stresses her out. she worries about you possibly never reaching a final major conclusion in court and accidentally making a fool of yourself.
While Miles heavily believes in your ability and treats you as an equal to him, You’re still the baby sibling in Franziska‘a heart- and her need to be overprotective of you never quite faded away. It causes family tension, most certainly, but things are always tense around here it feels like…
At the end of the day, Miles is a more understanding figure, as he has a bit of a need for understand things from the inside out before making his mind about them emotionally. Despite his cold nature, Miles understands your low energy and even has a limit of his own when it comes to energy towards certain scenarios. He understands you aren’t a candle that can be lit at both ends without major consequences, and he doesn’t see the issue with that. Despite it all, he’s aware you know what’s best for yourself- and knows that you wouldn’t allow yourself or anyone to be caught up in a situation that can be easily dismantled so long as you put your energy towards it. He will always be in your corner, and will always be ready to scold the cruel press for their awful interpretation of you.
Franziska is a more complicated sort, with a need for guaranteed consistency and absolutely no room for doubt. Franziska worries more than she’ll ever let in, she’s nearly riddled with anxiety if things aren’t in their perfect place- which is why she finds your demeanor so stress-inducing as she worries she can never properly count on it catching you or her if either of you tumble in court. It isn’t healthy, and she absolutely should believe in you more, but the anxiety eats her up inside. Even when she needs you most and you’re able to keep her case grounded in court when she can’t, the crippling anxiety she feels causes her to unfortunately be dismissive of it- which is absolutely painful. She doesn’t give your grand showings of your intellect the credit they deserve when she absolutely should, still too worried about the mistakes you may make rather than the victories. She couldn’t handle the possibility of you getting hurt to a point you give up your aspirations within the court of law due to a simple mistake in your judgement. so she looks to shield you at any point in time- despite it ultimately causing a rift and a feeling that she thinks you’re unable to handle yourself.
Ultimately speaking, Franziska needs therapy- and needs to take a page out of your book. She has this idea she needs to create and be perfection, but it isn’t humanly possible, and shouldn’t be expected of her or you. She’s due for some development, and due to give you an apology for how she’s treated you due to her own anxiety. She’s been burning the candle at both ends herself, always putting 110% she didn’t have into all she does. Franziska loves you, but her skewed view on how things should be are what cause her hurtful behaviors towards you. she doesn’t want to hurt you, she aches at the idea- she just is hard on you as others were on her because she doesn’t want you hurting like she did growing up. Be patient, she’ll soon come to realize you don’t need to be “fixed” and that you’re doing what’s best for you. expect a lot of tears when she does.
Miles isn’t perfect either by any means, but in terms of conserving energy he can relate to your antics. He’s always been the lower energy type, mainly because he doesn’t like to overexert himself (it’s a fate worse than death in his opinion, he HATES being unable to compete a task due to lack of energy). Chances are you likely inherited it from him unknowingly, simply following the mannerisms of your big brother. Miles often tells you to not fret on Franziska’s criticism on you, as it’s criticism she’s given him too. He’s always looking to be a supportive figure for you, as he shares that same need to protect you like Franziska- especially after all that he’s lost. He’s not looking to lose you either.

in response to your reply about the definition of veganism
couldn’t people start saying things like “I eat meat 6 days a week, I’m vegan because I give up meat one day a week but it’s not possible or practicable for me to give up the other 6 days because I just love the taste of meat so much and couldn’t stand to give it up. But I’m doing my best by giving it up for one day”
Would that person really count as vegan?
Sure, they can call themselves vegan if they want to, it would just be a bit meaningless. A man who cheats on his wife daily could call himself a good husband because he buys her flowers for Valentine’s Day - nobody can stop him doing that, it just won’t really amount to very much because the labels and the self identification aren’t important. Behaviour is what matters - and we all know that. Do we need a strictly defined definition of what a good husband is because of that? I don’t think we do.
The only way to decide who ‘counts’ as vegan in a way we’d all agree to is to appeal to a central authority that veganism just doesn’t have. That is also true for people who want to think of themselves as a good or ethical person, unless you’re religious, there is no ultimate authority on whether or not you actually are good. You can decide you are good, I can decide you’re not, your friend can decide you sometimes are but not really. There is no other way to deal with ethical designations without an appeal to authority, and that won’t help us when it comes to veganism.
I understand the impulse to want a clearly defined label so you can point to the hypocrites and say ‘you’re not really vegan though are you.’ There are times we may want to do that and when doing so is totally reasonable, like when someone clearly has the capacity to avoid harming an animal but does so anyway - they may call themselves vegan but we wouldn’t agree that they are.
That’s really the best we can do, and honestly I think that’s completely fine, since the alternative involves gatekeeping and excluding people who really are doing their best and deserve to be part of this community. I’m just not interested in having any sort of dogmatic rules or list of criteria for who gets to call themselves vegan and who doesn’t, and I’m very wary of arguments that try to promote the establishment of that sort of orthodoxy when it comes to philosophy and ethics.

I absolutely love your College AU Vash and how you write him as an AuDHD and depressed person, you wrote some more in depth headcanons for him and his autism a while ago I think (please excuse me if I’m wrong with that) and was wondering if you had any specific thoughts about his depression and how he deals with it/how it affects him?
I adore all your writing, please don’t feel any pressure to respond to this if you’d rather not, please take care!
I literally squealed upon reading this (I am so biased in answering asks HELP college au is so fun to write and I’m so glad people like it SKDBSKSBEN)
I definitely went more in depth w/ his neurodivergency (and how it impacts the way both him and Knives coexist and live together + how they live as individuals) and I have delved into his depression- however I will go over it more here. This is a bit of an overview of his mental health journey ^^
TW: depression, depressive thoughts, harmful behaviors (such as restrictive eating, picking at scabs, etc)
TAGS: @h4venpha @vashfantasy @lune010 @macncherries
Tumblr media
In highschool Vash’s depression was definitely at its worst. He had trouble making friends, was a lot more closed off, and any extracurriculars he had previously done he had to quit (to Knives’ protests and their bickering). He mainly focused on things that managed to curve some of the dread, Star Wars, often holing up in the room of their apartment in a not so safe area of town.
Knives wasn’t at the forefront of his mind. He didn’t really acknowledge how his brother wasn’t a priority as he was to him- guilt flooding his conscience about Rem’s death. He’s constantly mourning and clinging to the grief he now associates with her- as it’s his only memory of her. He’s sort of privileged in that way- Knives never truly got a chance to mourn and just had to start providing for both him and his brother while Vash was working to recover best he could. Guilt became apart of his everyday routine, weighing on his shoulders and crushing the cavity of his chest every so often.
This led to him being unable to get up. Executive dysfunction wasn’t a super common thing Vash dealt with, but once his mental health deteriorated it became a lot more frequent and difficult to navigate. Sometimes the only time he’d get up on weekends was to use the bathroom, and that was after an hour of contemplation to get up and constant nagging from his own body. He’d silently chew at an un- toasted bagel, standing at the counter of their small shared kitchen with greasy hair and a solemn gaze. He’s an enigma.
Knives considers this the true Vash- one without a fun quirky persona applied like a cheap foul appliqué to appeal to those around him.
During school days and the school year Vash trudges througout classes with some usual flair, but he tears at the edges slowly. Picking at the scabs that built up on him, eczema in the webbing of his fingers from how often he wrings his flesh hand out. How often he stresses out his hand, poking at the skin with a pencil. He’d started wearing gloves for that reason too- Nai attempted to stop the habit but Vash waved him off and said it was fine. It didn’t truly eases Nai’s worries.
Vash quit tennis, practices weren’t the same, Nai had to also quit due to work and school. Vash’s straight A honor roll went to A-B, and when he was at danger of dropping down to a C Nai had confronted him about it.
What’s worse is that their arguments don’t really consist of yelling, moreso Vash sputtering meaningless apologies and nodding along while Nai tries to drill it into his skull that he needs to WAKE UP. It’s an intervention sort of thing, with a shameful kid and overworked child. They’re tired.
Nai isn’t good with feelings and it ends up a bit of a mess each time. Vash hates how dependent he is on him once he truly realizes it- when the nights where Nai came home from work late he didn’t eat at all, not finding himself worthy of food or just being far too exhausted. He’s constantly sleeping and when he’s not he’s wishing he was.
Summer vacation is the worst. Summer depression hits hard for Vash, and with Nai working full time and taking up several online classes (encouraging/forcing Vash to also sign up for classes) he’s at home. Alone. In clothes he’s worn for several days and completing the coursework on his laptop. It’s not until one day, Vash goes outside on his own haphazardly in hopes to actually do something (partially endangering himself- Nai has the car so he’s just walking around in hopes of doing something. He ends up grabbing a candy bar at a 7-11 and sitting alone at a bus stop, contemplating life.
Nai wasn’t too happy with his absence, having returned home to an empty apartment and almost losing his shit because where is he?
Where’s Vash?
Why is he still like this?
Why can’t Nai FIX HIM?
Senior year starts, Vash cleans up a bit. Nai is more on his back about things and he starts to coat himself once more in the sticky, sugary and tacky shell that’s his persona, although he does seem to have more energy. (He returns home absolutely exhausted, and almost always collapses onto the couch and does whatever on his phone for a good 2 hours while going nonverbal). (Masking takes it out of him). He’s thrown back into tennis by Nai, (hence their reputation as the tennis twins). Colleges take interest in him, something they’re both grateful for due to the fact they most definitely cannot afford to pay for tuition without scholarships and financial aid.
Freshman year of college and Vash is more extroverted- he makes more friends and while he sticks to his small social circle of Wolfwood, Milly, Meryl, Nai, and yourself, he’s still plenty friendly of course! I do believe he wouldn’t be able to live alone- having Nai as a constant presence can be overwhelming or comforting depending on the day but he does appreciate it. He probably wouldn’t be able to take care of himself if he lived alone- he has a habit of losing himself within the hours whether it be for something he’s really into or not being able to get out of bed.
I already discussed how oftentimes once he grows closer to you, you’d have movie nights or just bask in one another’s presence; but I do believe that he has ways to curve it on his own. Background noise like music or video essays on something he finds intriguing will play to snuff out the quiet of the apartment (Nai is in his room studying, and Vash would hate to bother him), tapping his fingers against his knees in a rhythm to ease some of the dread. It’s hard.
Being depressed is like constantly having your head shoved into a bucket of cement and hardly getting reprieve. And what’s worse, Vash believes he deserves such a fate. Which is incredibly irrational, the accident wasn’t his fault, Rem dying wasn’t his fault, but god does the imposter syndrome really hit hard on this guy because he bathes in his grief. It settles around him like a smog and clears up every now and then, only to thicken once more.
He learns to navigate it better as he gets older. It takes lots of time. And patience. It never fully fades, only dulls to a throbbing ache that manages to stab into his side like the lacerations forever scarring his body. But he tries.
That’s the most Vash thing to do right? To get up and be able to face another day again, to have full faith even if yesterday was hard. Even if the past week has been hard. Even if it’s all been suffocating, he’ll get up again.

HI FRIEND. Your events are always so freaking cute and unique.
CONGRATULATIONS ON THE MILESTONE! 💚💚💚💚 you deserve every follower 😘
Can I do your Friendsgiving event??
For Caramel Apple Cheesecake and for OPM please and thank you.
I don’t think you need a description of anything about me but if you want me to please let me know and I will provide any details you are missing
I match you with...
Zombieman!!
Tumblr media
-he has a bit of a tragic past, but he doesn't let that affect your relationship
-because of his past, i think he would try to keep your relationship semi-secret (he knows that he'll always come back to you, but if you didn't come back to him...)
-but he spends every chance he gets to make sure you know that he values you
-technically, his alias is a subject number, so I think he would go by whatever your last name is (married or not)
-he also doesn't show it, but he swoons when you give him nicknames (any nicknames, silly, serious, doesn't matter, the man melts on the inside)
-he's fairly easy going and quick to get over things (so if you guys do have an argument he's usually the first one to extend the olive branch)
-truth be told, you are the only one who can really make him smile
-you are the funniest person he knows and the only one who can make him laugh
-he'll do anything to return the favor...your laugh is his favorite sound
-oh, also, he likes hugging you
-just something about your embrace makes him feel like he matters
-life can be shitty, both of you know this, but he does appreciate that you can still make light of the situation while being strong and pushing through
-but sometimes if it seems like it's becoming too much, he's right there guiding you and supporting you
-before he met you, he had grown so accustomed to seeing life as meaningless, but with you in his life he has found life's purpose again

also loosely re: the last 2 posts, obviously winning people over to your side is important and you should always try to spend time explaining your politics to people you think may be amenable to them. It’s a frustrating and slow process that doesn’t give you a lot of tangible returns a lot of the times, but it’s still important. Sometimes you win people over! Most times you don’t, but if it were easy to change a person’s political outlook then we wouldn’t need to be having this ridiculous discussion in the first place.
however like, I don’t think it’s contentious to say that the truth doesn’t seem to have a great deal of power in political discourse. like, human beings are not some sort of homo rationalis; most people don’t meticulously interrogate all of their political positions and reach conclusions based on rational inquiry. So a lot of discussion around the importance of debate falls flat for me because it feels like we’re talking about this made up hypothetical human being who makes logical decisions about what their politics are.
and to go back to the authoritarian personality book like, I know I keep bringing this up but adorno et al describe fascists as people who are “immune to experience,” in the sense that their ideology is purely irrational and not based on, well, experience with the material world. So debating those people is (for this reason and others) essentially meaningless.
now obviously that post is talking about moderates or “centre right” people or whatever, not fascists. And I’m not equating the two, but I think a tendency towards an immunity to experience is shared by most people on the right wing to varying degrees. Like right wing politics fundamentally are nonsensical, so arguing in nonsense terms to get people to arrive at a rational conclusion (again going back to the housing example) is deeply misguided and misunderstands reactionary politics. And I think if you as a leftist believe that, you need to study the premises that underly right wing politics more deeply.
So like yeah obviously being an sjw to your racist uncle is not going to gain you any ground. But if you want to persuade people, you need to understand the premises people operate from, both liberal and reactionary. you can critique those as the base of your argument, not accept their premises and then argue from there

Haven’t seen a shred of evidence that points to Paul not being a filthy disgusting cunt monger. I am bi, not phobic just cause of this!
But I feel that a lot of people just kind of… want him to be bi? Whether for shipping or because he’s pretty and want to see him fucking men. I mean, I think it’d be great to see Paul get fucked. It would serve him right. But for irl? Very little evidence!
It’s like the PID truthers. People aren’t trying to figure out what’s real, they’re trying to seek out facts that fit their theory, then piece them together.
And that goes for me too! If someone said, hey look, here’s a video of Paul riding dick like a champ! I wouldn’t say “that’s probably heterosexual dick riding among friends”. I would adapt to the new information!
Ngl I’m like 99.9% sure (100% tbh) I know who this is, but I’m too awkward to send a message, so I’ll just pretend you’re a Random Anon lol.
My thoughts under the cut!
I do see the comparisons between PID-ers and people who *die-hard* believe Paul is bi, although it largely depends on the person. For some people, its a matter of interpretation, and so whilst they do believe Paul isn’t straight, they still acknowledge that the belief is largely a product of speculation, and without solid evidence to support it—and therefore don’t expect *everyone* to get on board with their belief; these are the types of people I like to engage with. There’s things where I’ll think “yeah I see where you’re coming from there…”, and then there’s things I plainly disagree with—but I can still appreciate their points as a rational interpretation.
I do see some overlap between the PID community and the mcl*nnon (don’t want this to end up in the tag) community at times though. This normally comes in the form of people looking Too Deeply into the semantics of certain quotes. When it comes to interviews, although Paul does tend to be quite carefully calculated (as in, he knows the types of things he’s likely to be asked, and therefore has an idea of what he’ll say in response), I still think a lot of what he’s says is basically just what it says on the tin. I can’t articulate this with a lot of eloquence, but sometimes you just Say Things. The exact terminology or pronouns (i.e him saying “they” or “someone” in place of “she” or “woman”) Paul employs in interviews I don’t feel have that much relevance to be honest. Everyone is somewhat awkward and inarticulate at times, and so off-the-cuff remarks I don’t believe have much, if any, significance.
And then when I’ve enquired into why people do believe that John and Paul had a sexual/romantic relationship, often people have responded with the “Look at how they look at each other!” argument, which is essentially meaningless to me.
And a lot of this can parallel the same techniques I’ve seen PID-ers use, especially when they take snippets of quotes and interviews, and then replay them with an over-focus on the semantics of a sentence (i.e If George says something like “we LOVED Paul”, PID-ers will be emphatic about his use of the past-tense, when really: its just What It Says On The Tin).
I also feel relatively comfortable and non-judgemental in saying that SOME people ‘want’ to believe he’s bi and look for confirmation bias beyond that, because tbh I think I sort of started out in that boat. Its not necessarily that I *didn’t* believe Paul was bi (like I wasn’t straight up lying), but I think it was a combination of 3 things:
There’s a sort of peer pressure to believe the dominating theory, and especially if you haven’t done enough of your own research yet to form your own conclusions, its easy to get swept away with what other people are saying. I think this “peer pressure” [I hate that term tbh, but I’m not sure what other phrase to use so I’ll just stick with it :/] gets accentuated especially when there’s a lot of people going around with an I-Know-Everything-attitude, and making the people who disagree with them out to be Dumber or Naive (or everybody’s favourite: homophobic) etc.
A lot of the stronger pieces of evidence that initially made me believe he’s bi, I later found out were either untrue, unsourced, or manipulated to Fit The Narrative. Its not something I think happens that much anymore, since people seem more adamant in sourcing and providing context these days—but based off of what I’ve seen in older tumblr posts, it seemed like more of issue from about 2012 to 2016-ish? And since those posts still get circulated and remain at the top of the tags, its again Easy To Get Swept Away.
Going back to point 1, once you do believe something, you’re going to start looking for more ‘hidden clues’, and from then on you’ll be seeking confirmation bias. Once I started questioning my own beliefs more, I found that I didn’t find a lot of the evidence that existed to be as compelling as I once thought it did.
Im not saying this is the same experience Every Single Person has had, and I’m not trying to be hateful either. But I just wanted to share some of my initial experiences in the tumblr-beatles-fandom specifically, since I think there has to be at least a few people out there who can relate.
Essentially though, so long as someone doesn’t go round calling people homophobic because they disagree, or purposely manipulating narratives to fit their own beliefs, I don’t take issue with them, and can engage with their beliefs and content
Final note: I saw this video quite recently, which touches upon the Larry and Camren communities of shipping, and while I literally Could Not Give Less Of A Shit about either of those communities since I don’t like any of those artists, I did find some of the wider points about real-person shipping to be quite interesting. I don’t think everything in the video pertains to the mcl*nnon community specifically, especially since the people were trying to understand are a) from an entirely different generation and b) one of them has been dead 40+ years so there’s only so much we can know about them (and by consequence, how much we can come to understand the nature of their relationship with the other person is limited, to some degree)—but the actual shipping cultures I thought had some overlaps.

Does Hardship Make a Person Stronger?
So I have read about and talked to a good bit of people about whether they believe their hardships have made them stronger or not. Many people don't like to hear that whatever they have been through has made them stronger because in today's society, it's a matter of "I shouldn't have to be strong" or "I should be allowed to show my weakness, my tears." The thing is, that isn't the issue. You are allowed to cry and process the traumas and hardships you have been through, but I believe that they do make you strong. Some people like to use their hardships and traumas as an excuse, some people have a reason for the way they are too. They don’t blame their past or childhood. It really boils down to a person's mindset on how they deal with things such as emotional and psychological issues. I still have problems with using my hardships as an excuse but I am not as bad as I used to be because I have learned and I'm continuing to learn how to rewire my brain. I believe that the things I have been through have in deed made me stronger. It has strengthen the way I think, the way I process things, and the way I react to certain situations. For example; I completely struggled with my anger and sometimes I still have problems but I have learned to control it better. I still have my moments but I know when to get up and walk away when I need to. I also don't let my anger build up and then explode later. The only time I say something, is when something really needs to be said. I got to the point where I became tired of petty and meaningless arguments.
The point is, we should take our struggles and use them to do good in our lives. Whatever hardship you have went through, use it in whatever way you can to do something good whether it's for a person close to you, or the world. That alone can show how strong you are and it can teach others around you how to be strong also. It's a very difficult and long process that not everybody masters because we are only human and I'm sure that if we had the power to control ourselves, the world wouldn't be in the shape it's in. So if you are on this journey, I encourage it and I'm proud of your continuing success.

Try Again - d.ear & Jaehyun
TRY AGAIN slipped my mind at the first try, but then surprisingly came back and placed a position in my favorite playlist. Beyond visual appeals, the melodies and lyrics are open to opposite and sentimental interpretation, especially when listeners are covered in loneliness and frustration. It is like a beautiful and interesting double face coat that everyone should have in their wardrobe, which might not be usually used but definitely is a must for a rainy and doom day.
The dark side
Due to the long time we shared
Perhaps it's just natural our expectations increased
Even with our countless shouts
We couldn't reach each other's hearts
Started with a blue tone and slow piano back sounds, the first verse tells a not so pleasure story of shouts and disappointment. I wondered the causes of “countless shouts” are countless problems or countless repetition of the same old mistakes. Being well-matched has never been an easy thing nor of destiny, but is a progress requiring bilateral efforts for continuous adjustments and personal development. Conflict is sometimes a greater good because once the problems are handled, we will get a better understanding on ourselves and our partner. However, an increasing number of unsolved conflicts over the time just more or less implies the fact that we are not meant to be. Whatever the case is, it is incomparable with the exhaustion caused by a non-stop bleeding wound when one keeps on digging their fingers in the sore. If a problem revisits us that frequent, it is us ourselves being the problem.
So whenever you ask me again how I feel
Please remember my answer is you
Even if we have to go back a long way
I will still feel the same way about you
We'll be alright, I want to try again
Confusion and negative flows from the previous part and the chorus provoke pains, especially the conversation “how do you feel?” - “my answer is you”. The one asking the question might not aim to seek for confirmation if the other stands by her side, but for her partner's true feeling and opinion. The pain point is rooted from lack of understanding and empathy, which can only be built up if we are honest with ourselves, and sincere with the other. Having your true heart exposed actually is a risky bet, but let’s nip the problem in the bud rather than sugarcoating them all. A bitter ending is better than an endless bitterness.
“I will still feel the same way about you” - The more I dig into the lyrics, the less patient I turn. I should have felt more secured and confident, but why is only insecurity left in the given context. The boundary between “I love everyone” and “I love no one in particular” is indeed subtle, and “I feel the same” is neither different to “I don’t feel anything”. Being so generalized is way too confusing and boring. Long time spent together surely comes up with memories, thoughts and feelings. Then, “the same way” means the same with what feeling, what emotion, what thought? This creates a vague premonition whether the perception about a person is stuck somewhere in the other's mind, or does one just love the ideal of love instead of actually falling in love?
The bright side
No matter how many times we fall apart
Due to our frequent arguments
Like I said, we're the ones that matter the most
We're not meaningless
I'm taking a step forward and
I'm telling you what the past has shown us
Escaping the ocean of confusion, the second verse comes out with like a warmer and brighter flow. This part, the narrator clearly states his opinion, what he values most, so I know what he is standing for. Saying We're not meaningless eases me somehow. I am actually afraid of being nothing when one says everything before, and also of being a delusion. What the past has shown us more or less confirms that this relationship is real through the acknowledgement of bricks we have built together. I am not sure if this verse is a higher level of manipulation of the previous one, or actually is the light of hope. And I opt the latter.
A bit sentimental, but I hope that this verse would come to people whenever they are covered in sadness. Things do not always follow the way we expected. We then feel down, seeing ourselves a total useless, being annoyed with no fruitfulness but failure, or overwhelmed in negative energies. Having someone there to encourage and share us the pressure is greater than great. However, regardless of being surrounded by people, there is certain time in life we feel disconnected with the outer world, being lost and completely lonely. And in such time, there is only you stay with yourself.
The strength from inside is something undeniable but often neglected. There is no guaranteed remedy for all dilemmas. New solution/new people are things people normally think of, while in some cases, taking a break to look back the road we have gone through is worth considering either. I do not encourage falling into the past or being too relied on the same old route. But sometimes, things have changed in a very fast pace that we forget who we are. Us at the present are built from all the experiences we have ever gained, what we love/hate, and what make us happy/sad. One day, every little thing we've done will become the motivation for us to continue. It can’t be helped if we’ve tried our best but things are still struggled. At least, we do not regret :)
So whenever you ask me again how I feel
Please remember my answer is you
Even if we have to go back a long way
I will still feel the same way about you
We'll be alright, I want to try again
The same chorus, but this time, thanks to the connection with its previous part, produces optimistic vibe and feelings. It is a gentle whisper that I’d love to tell myself and my precious ones. My late 2022 was in a state of utter chaos. Everybody does their job well while me terribly. When I was about to give up, the chorus came and said things I needed the most that I nearly burst into tears. I just felt like I've got someone back me up to continue. Reorganizing the messy thoughts and experiences when the hard time got over, I think of this song as a gift for me. This entry is quite like a wall of text, but I just simply want to express my gratitude for the attempt of people who made this song exists.
We'll be alright, please try again
We can never know for sure whether what we are trying to do will come up with a good or bad outcome. However, keeping on moving at least makes us alive. I don’t like John Lennon, but I like a saying (widely assumed to be his): everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it is not the end. Yes, nothing is perfect, so if you know what is important to you, please TRY AGAIN.
And last but not least, happy your 1402 day, Jaehyun 😊

Jesse Eisenberg On The Return Of Lex Luthor: “I’d Be Shocked If I Wound Up In A DC Movie – But It Would Be A Pleasant Shock”
Tumblr media
Speaking to an enthusiastic crowd at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival after screenings of his directorial debut When You Finish Saving the World, Jesse Eisenberg covered a lot of bases, from his introduction to acting as an anxious teenager to his dislike of the sitcom Friends (“My sister loves it, and we get into arguments all the time,” he said. “Because no one talks that way, and there’s not a group of six people that are all that good-looking and all that funny”). Eisenberg also expressed dismay at the response to his portrayal of Lex Luthor in the 2016 blockbuster Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. “I felt very personal about it,” he said. “The writer, Chris Terrio, is a very serious writer, and he’s a very emotional person. He thought a lot about my character, and I thought a lot about my character too. I talked with my acting coach about the character a lot, about his backstory with his father and his emotional life—and then people hate me.”
Speaking to Deadline afterwards, Eisenberg clarified that he would not rule out a return to the DC or even Marvel world if called upon. “I’d be shocked if I wound up in a DC movie, but it would be a pleasant shock,” he said. “Listen, I’m not a comic book fan. To me, it was not playing a role that I’d envisioned since childhood. To me, it was a chance to play this great character that this great writer wrote, and I loved doing that. So, to play it is a joy, and to not play it isn’t something that I’m going to be ashamed to tell my kids about, because that is not an important genre in my life, even though I loved doing that movie.” So he would still do a superhero movie? “Yeah. Because as an actor, you do all kinds of different things, and sometimes great roles show up in really commercial things and sometimes terrible roles show up in independent films.”
For the time being, however, Eisenberg is keeping his diary clear, as he prepares to shoot his next film, A Real Pain, in Poland. “The story is about two cousins who have grown apart,” he explained, “and they go on a heritage-slash-Holocaust tour after the death of their grandmother. It’s about their lives and their little struggles, as opposed to the bigger struggles that they’re facing, and trying to juxtapose how we think about modern pain versus how we think about the pain of our ancestors. Our ancestors were killed, and our struggles are so minor, comparatively. The movie kind of asks the question, ‘Are [those minor struggles] also valid?’”
The writer-director’s co-star in the film will be Succession star Kieran Culkin. “I always thought of him for the role,” said Eisenberg. “I actually haven’t seen Succession, but my little sister, who I send everything I write to, had. When she read the script, she said, ‘You have to give it to Kieran.’ I was like, ‘Oh, my God, I’d love to, he’s just phenomenal.’ He does Kenneth Lonergan plays in New York, and I have real love for those plays.”
Eisenberg not having seen Succession isn’t entirely surprising, given that he doesn’t even see his own movies. But it’s perhaps a little remarkable that he doesn’t keep tabs on Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, whose portrayal brought him an Oscar nomination for 2010’s The Social Network. “I guess I don’t, because I don’t have a Facebook page,” he mused. “The stories are typically meaningless to me. I notice sometimes when a story comes out about Facebook in the news, but I think people just worried that their data is being mined or sold. I feel a little chuffed that I never got a Facebook page.”
Despite the many plaudits for David Fincher’s film, Eisenberg doesn’t get much recognition from the public for it. “When I go to the airport,” he said, “people have seen me in Now You See Me. As great a movie as it is, The Social Network is still a drama. It’s not a popcorn kind of movie. Even though it’s considered one of the greatest movies [of recent times], it’s just not a movie that people shout at me about from across the room. People shout at me from across the room because I was in a movie about magic.”
Fans off the Now You See Me franchise will be pleased to know that a third is very likely on the way. “They’ve been trying,” he said. “but I think it will happen sooner rather than later. It’s such a beloved franchise. I only know this because I’m in it, but you feel it. I don’t know why that is, because my finger’s not really on the pulse of culture, but I feel, as a person involved with it, that it’s something that people really love, and I know that the people who produced the movie feel that too.”
All this recent activity will presumably make up not just for the disappointment of Batman V Superman but also for the crushing rejection that happened during the pandemic, when his work was turned down by satirical website The Onion. “I got very, very close,” he said. “They give you a probationary period, so you submit 10 ideas a week for a number of weeks. I got very close twice, and then, ultimately, I didn’t make it. It’s very competitive.” How hard did it hit? “Listen, I’ve had every advantage in my life because of being in movies. This experience proved to be completely useless during this time. They don’t have bylines—no one knows who writes these things—so for me to be a famous actor is completely meaningless. In a way, it was a humbling experience, because you kind of learn, ‘Oh, this is the way the world would react to me were I not in movies.’ Which is to say that I’d probably get rejected multiple times.”

Reflections
Word Count: 1690
Characters: England, France - FrUK, America, Canada
----
‘It’ll be fun!’
‘No, it won’t.’
‘Yes it will,’ America insists, leaning forward to get a better look at the screen. England’s face through the webcam is decidedly unimpressed.
‘I don’t like house parties,’ he says, but America can hear slight resignation already there in his voice and so pushes again to seal the deal.
‘Please? Come on man, it’ll be great. Right after the G20 meeting in Texas too so there’s no work to worry about; just stay one more day for it. And hey, if you don’t like it you can leave.’
England raises an eyebrow, ‘You invited me to stay withyou.’
America shrugs, unbothered, ‘Then don’t! Or, do- whatever. It’s up to you.’
England sighs and looks conflicted. America seizes the opportunity and goes in for the kill, ‘Everyone else will be there too; you don’t wanna get FOMO.’
‘I don’t get FOMO,’ England snaps, looking affronted, and America instantly knows he’s won, ‘But fine, if it means that much to you, I’ll come.’
America tries to school his face into something that doesn’t look too triumphant, ‘Awesome! Kay, so it’ll be casual, no need to dress up or be all fancy or anything.’
‘Yes yes,’ England waves a hand dismissively and shifts in his chair, ‘I know how a house party works. I do go to some, you know.’
‘Cool cool cool, just making sure.’ America can’t really picture England at the sort of house party he is thinking of, people lounging about on furniture and playing silly drinking games. But it must happen, he supposes- he’s seen England drunk in pubs before and he’s boisterous so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine him in an even more casual setting.
Suddenly, America notes the darkness of England’s surroundings and checks the clock in the bottom corner of his screen, ‘Hey, it’s getting pretty late for you over there, isn’t it? I should let you go.’
England glances at his wrist, entirely ignoring the PC he’s using, ‘Yes, I suppose so. Okay, likely I’ll see you next month then.’
‘No backsies, you said yes,’ America reminds him.
England rolls his eyes, ‘I meant that I won’t see you until then, I already said I was coming; I’ll come.’
‘Good!’ America moves his mouse to end the call, ‘See you there, old man. Try to be fun.’
‘What is that supposed to-‘
‘Bye!’
----
Canada glances about the room and nods, ‘It’s not bad.’
America reels back, ‘Not bad? Dude-‘ he gestures to the living room they’re in the doorway of and then to the pool outside, both places spilling over with nations chatting and enjoying themselves under the beat of the music, ‘-it’s more than not bad!’
It really was, in his humble opinion, probably one of his best in recent years. Nearly everyone had turned up who said they were going to and there had been a steady flow of conversation and dancing all night. America had scoped the place out every now and again, making rounds through the house to make sure there were no stragglers sitting somewhere on their own but there wasn’t a need for it- things had run smoothly without him needing to intervene and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. This is why he liked house parties, more than any other type of ‘function’. House parties had a more relaxed vibe, where no one felt the need to impress or do themselves up too much (unless you were one of the older ones, that is; it seemed that no matter what you told them they’d still arrive a bit more formally dressed than everyone else, as if they had some sort of inbuilt compulsion).
Things going so well was probably helped, too, by the fact that America had only invited friends and family. One, because inviting the entire world and putting them in one place anywhere would always result in some form of argument, but also because this was his house and he didn’t want it to get trashed, (regardless of what England had groused when he first arrived and had seen the condition of the place).
Canada shrugs and takes a sip of his drink, ‘I’ve been to better.’
America frowns, disappointed, before jostling his arm playfully when he notices the small, guilty shift of Canada’s eye, ‘Stop messing with me.’
Canada grins behind his cup and nudges him back, ‘Well, no one’s dead yet. That’s always good.’
‘Amen to that,’ America raises his glass in a toast which Canada meets and downs the rest of his drink, ‘Want a refill?’
‘Sure.’
‘Come on then, I ain’t your servant.’
Canada gives him a flat look but wordlessly follows America out of the living room and through to the kitchen. Australia’s there with Mexico, digging about in the lower cupboards for something and Denmark is showing Japan a video on his phone that’s making Japan’s eyes go almost unnaturally wide.
‘Alfred mate, what happened to those Tim Tams you promised me?’ Australia stands up from his crouch on the floor and looks at America reproachfully, ‘I feel swindled.’
America opens his mouth to speak but Canada cuts in first, ‘I hid them.’
America turns to him in confusion, ‘Why?’
‘Zea asked me to, seeing as they couldn’t come. Something about what you did to them at Christmas?’
Australia throws up his hands and scoffs, ‘Jesus fuck, when will they get over that. Where are did you put them? Come on, don’t be a dick, I promised Mexico some.’
Mexico shrugs delicately, ‘I don’t really care, to be honest. I just heard they were bad and wanted to see how bad.’
Australia looks down at her scandalised, ‘Who told you that?!’
She readjusts to sit properly on the floor, ‘People.’
‘Yeah, sorry, I’ll get them.’ Canada’s job has been carried out to the minimum requirement and America knows that he’s happy that he can now take himself out of the silly argument New Zealand and Australia have slyly pulled him into. He goes out of the kitchen, leaving his empty cup behind, and America follows him curiously through the hallway in the direction of the study.
‘What did Australia do to Zea at Christmas?’ America has missed out on England’s most recent yearly family function; he’d wanted to go surfing with Hawaii instead.
‘Don’t ask,’ Canada says tiredly, the air of an older sibling who had seen far too much. America is offended Canada hasn’t told him already. He opens his mouth to say as much when Canada goes to open the slightly ajar study door before stopping abruptly in the doorway, causing America to almost crash into him.
‘Hey, what-‘ Canada hurriedly squeezes America’s arm and tugs him sharply away in a warning for quiet, catching his eye before glancing into the room meaningfully. America peers around him into the study, wondering what he’s seen.
At first, he’s not sure what he’s supposed to be looking at; it looks empty. The main study light is off, leaving the room lit only by one table lamp by the sofa that casts a warm, buttery glow about the place, softening the corners with shadows. He looks to Canada for help and Canada tilts his head in the direction of the French doors, eyebrows raised.
America follows his gaze and understands. The darkness outside has turned the glass to mirrors, reflecting the front of the old sofa that America could previously only see the back of. On it are England and France, curled up together with France’s head on England’s chest and England propped against the armrest, one knee brought up high for him to rest an elbow on. He has his other hand in France’s hair and is gently running his fingers through it, long languid strokes that feel entirely too intimate for America to process.
It’s a strange thing for him to see. He has accidentally caught England and France doing other things throughout his life but intimacy isn’t really something they display. They argue. They bicker. They fight and scream and laugh, sometimes, but they do not do this in front of other people, this gentleness. Neither of the two are what anyone could ever consider gentle, even France, for all his intentional touches and flirtations -the soft ghost of his hand on a shoulder or resting warm around a waist- are not this, not personal. France is very free with his physical affections but they are shallow things, meaningless and ordinary. There is something removed and detached about how he moves amongst crowds, gathering himself close about someone to brush against them as he stands that speaks of friendliness yes, but not closeness. Nothing special to note.
But here, curled on a sofa and unaware they are being watched, there are no guards up or cold pretences between them, just a natural, domestic openness that America finds oddly normal, for how little he has seen glimpses of it. England and France together are many things, have experienced every extreme and mundane state possible for two people to experience, and this side of them is just another shade, as hard as it is to find.
France tips his head back more and opens his eyes, crinkling their corners as he murmurs something low under the muted music that causes England’s lips to twitch into a rare, open smile. They could be anyone then, just two people on a sofa, young and mellow, and for a split-second America can’t see them as anything else. The warm mood hides their identity and blurs their age- familiar strangers tucked away on their own.
America jumps, startled, when Canada nudges him, an elbow into his side and he turns to find his brother gesturing with his head back into the hallway.
He agrees. America knows both England and France would be mortified to be caught like this, boneless and out of character around the person they often so openly despise, so it’s best to leave them as they are undisturbed.
Australia can wait, America will squeeze the truth out of Canada about Christmas and maybe take Zea’s side just for fun.
----
AN:
Sorry for the wait anon, but I hope you see this and I hope that you like! Thanks for the ask and for your kind words, this was a lovely prompt and I really liked thinking about how I could do this justice ;u;

Writing a good gift
I hate gift giving.
I mean, I love it when I know what to give but that’s rarely the case.
Thankfully, in fiction, character’s will like what we tell them to like. But a powerful gift within the narrative requieres a bit more than for the character to like it. So here’s a couple of ideas to help:
1.- Make it something useful. Show your character having a recurring problem, preferably something unimportant, something trivial. Don’t show them complaining, show their frustration through smaller details such as them taking a deep breath, rubbing their nose or pausing for just a second mid-task.
This shows two important details on part of the gift giver: them paying attention to notice the problem and them finding a solution.
Attentiveness plus problem solving. Meaningful no matter how minor.
2.- Make it something they like, but something they’ve bought up only passingly before. If it’s something they love and go on about, anybody could get the right gift. Make it a small detail, maybe they’re at a farm in an early chapter and the receiver mentions their favourite animal, towards the end of the book the gift givers gets a plush, a figurine or a necklace with the animal.
Same as before, attentiveness. Just make sure it doesn’t happen too soon, if the information is still fresh the reader will be like: “Well, you literally just bought that up to make this gift meaningful.” And they might be right, but give them time to forget and then be reminded and it’s like: “Oh! They remembered!”
I did a whole post dedicated to giving time for things to sit, it’s a thing.
3.- Make it hard. Hard to find. If they make it themselves, hard to make. Maybe they need to get the materials, hard to collect materials for? You ever heard of the McGuffin trope? Some people say it’s bad writing, personally, I believe it depends. But it’s the idea that the item doesn’t matter, it’s just an excuse for the actions to get it. Look at the gift like a McGuffin. But if you want it to be more meaningful, combine it with one of the previous points.
4.- Maybe the gift isn’t the important part, maybe it’s the way it’s wrapped, with her favourite colour wrapping paper, maybe it’s the hand written note with a desperate attempt at cursive because, “You’re hand writing is so pretty, I thought it must matter to you.” Perhaps it a hand-made card that goes with it. Perhaps they’re separated for a mission but the gift givers sneaks away and risks a lot to get the gift to the receiver despite it all. (This could also end in a big argument but that’s up to you).
Remember sometimes the point of a gift isn’t the gift but the situation surrounding it.
5.- Make it something important to the gift giver. This is a pretty common trope but when properly established it still gets me every time. This is the whole, “Here, take my dead mother’s necklace.” “But it means so much to you!” “But I’d rather you have it!” Trope. I’m a sucker for it.
Also, it doesn’t always have to come from the gifter. I have a scene way later on in my series where the love interest actually gives my main character something (not going to say what, that would be a spoiler) that he got from her father that once belonged ot her mother. It’s similar because the father gives it up so she can have it, but then it comes from the love interest. I’m not sure if this makes sense without context but obviously I don’t want to spoil like, final book scenes. But the idea is, there can be other characters involved in this, other than the two giver and receiver.
6.- Maybe it isn’t important, maybe it isn’t meaningful, maybe it become so over time. I have plenty of stupid bits of plastic that were given to me on a night out as a joke in between laughters, perhaps a baby Shark kinder egg or a pretty plastic ring. But then instead of getting rid of it, I put it away. I look back at it and smile remembering those nights. Something can be meaningless in the moment, but become meaningful just for staying around long enough.
Extra points if the grifter dies or otherwise leaves.
And those are my 6 tips. You can combine as you wish. Also, I used a love interest in one example, but anybody can give anybody a gift! I give gifts to my roommates, friends and family. And it’s just as important to work on the relationships that aren’t romantic as it is the romantic ones. (Unless you’re writing a romance I guess, but I only do fantasy, usually YA so, can’t really comment on that).
As usual,  check out my book, stories I’ve written plus other social medias: here.
So, with christmas coming up, how’s your gift buying going? I knows it’s not that soon, but I have exams in November so I try to start really early. I have a special box where I just put things in.
EXTRA NOTE: I know, I know, I’ve been missing for a while. I’ve got one month at university and as always, exams, homework, chaos everywhere! I promise I’m still around, I promise I’ve got 18 drafts plus several lists of ideas. As soon as I have time I’ll get back into posting more often. I just have to prioritize school, work, paying for food and those good boring stuff!
Also, I’ll be putting my ebook on sale sometime this December for Christmas! So, you know, if you want a gift idea for someone who likes reading YA Fantasy with dragons, look out for that!

kamukomahina gender/body headcanons
a bit of a ramble about my body, gender, and general appearance headcanons for them bcuz someone sent me a curiouscat prompting this 3k words of hyperfixation nonsense
Tumblr media
Komaeda:
- He has a naturally lithe body, with a thin waist, broad shoulders and hips, which give him an hourglass. and a rather andrognyous body, which is "lucky" for him, because I hc him as nonbinary and gender non-conforming
- Gender-wise, as I said, I think he's nonbinary. Usually I do view Nagito as AMAB but I indulge in transmasc Nagito from time to time depending on my preference and how much I wish to uh, well, project, lol. But either way I think he would use he/they pronouns in a western sense. In japanese, however, they don't use third person pronouns that other people refer to them with, and in canon he uses the first person pronoun "boku", which is a "soft" masculine pronoun, in comparison to the "hard" masculine pronoun, “ore” (which Hajime uses btw!) which fits quite nicely, in my opinion! Also, in Japanese, you can be 'fluid' with your first person pronouns depending on the situation, so I think he could use more neutral or feminine pronouns should he desire it, too, to play on his gender non-conformity.
- Komaeda is very secure in his gender, regardless of being AMAB or AFAB. He does not care about stigma, or discrimination, he does not care about being "accepted" by broader society. Broader society is sort of meaningless to him, the average person and their ideas about gender and presentation and effeminity mean NOTHING to him. Whether or not a random person the street genders him correctly or treats him with respect is sort of, pointless? Because to him, most ordinary people are pointless nobodies. Their thoughts do not matter to him. I think he is still prone to insecurity, however, when around his "betters" but I just struggle to think he would degrade himself in regards to gender. to him, it's the least of his problems. what he cares about is hope and talent. He could dress femininely or wear makeup or straight up crossdress and not mind it, really. He thinks people would find a problem with it are the problem, because why does it even matter? It speaks to the way Komaeda is detached from societal norms & "normal" people, he did not grow up in normal circumstances, so he doesn't interact with the world normally by any means. he can mask and act normally to the best of his ability, often unintentionally?, but he simply does not fit into broader society and doesn't seek to.
- Komaeda loses weight really easily, and doesn't gain weight that well. This is mainly due to his many illnesses but also the medications he's been put on. He has a low appetite and burns weight rather easily, even though I headcanon that he eats like garbage (mainly junk food & takeout, since he obviously cannot cook). This makes him overall, health wise, not very healthy, and stick thin because of it. A stiff breeze could knock him over, tbh.
- He has a lot of faded scars, self-inflicted or not.
- Pre-despair (in HPA) he is fairly healthy but still lithe, and progressively his body deteriorates through his 2 years of hopes peak before the Tragedy begins.
- During the Tragedy itself, his body is at it's worst. he is almost nothing but bone at times, barely kept together by a need to live so he can see hope triumph. His weight fluctuates but he's very unhealthy. He's not anorexic or on death's door, but he's not well off, either.
- After being put into the neo world program, right after waking up, he's very, very thin and gaunt. he was in a pod on feeding tubs for an indiscernible but at least probably a month's worth of time? So he's just very weak, like he could collapse if he moves too quickly.
- But a while after waking, he goes into remission, and starts to gain more healthy habits due to being rehabilitated and cared for by Hinata, and gains some weight, finally at a healthy, normal weight. I still think he would struggle with putting on too much weight, but I am slightly fond of the idea that he gets a bit of healthy pudge after a while. To him, it's so foreign being healthy, that he honestly think something's wrong with him at first.
Hinata:
- Hinata has a very... average body, true to form. His hips and waist aren't too pronounced but he has a loosely "hourglass" shape, too, just not as exaggerated as Komaeda's in comparison.
- Gender-wise, I am EXTREMELY fond of transmasc Hinata. While I think I portray AMAB Hinata more than transmasc Hinata (in art and writing), I still firmly prefer transmasc Hinata. The reason I think portray otherwise more is just out of comfortability, but I've been getting better at comfortably portraying FTM Hinata. I have some reasons I prefer it and think you can extrapolate it from canon, but let's get into that
- Hinata, in my eyes, has an arc and story that fits perfectly into him just. Being trans. His desire to be someone else, someone better, someone he can proud of, and the way he overcompensates for himself and has an extreme inferiority complex would easily lend to him having similar feelings about his gender. To me, Hinata is a trans man who overperforms his masculinity out of insecurity and a need to pass. I see him as someone who would strictly use "he/him" in a western sense, which is lended to by his use of the "ore" pronoun in canon, which is almost hypermasculine.
- Even if he were AMAB, I think it still works, I think he's still someone who's insecure and tries to assert himself more strongly and therefore performs masculinity in a way to appear more confident than he is.
(side note: I actually read a bit about queerness in Japan and how it relates to gender performance and the use of pronouns, and read a bit about how queer women in japan tend to use "boku" and "ore" to perform masculinity, which I find neat. “Ore” was also sometimes used exclusively to show anger and dominance, which is why it's categorized as a "rough" pronoun. I think Japanese language, gender, and expression, and how those all relate to one another, are extremely interesting and if you get the time you should read about it lol)
- Body-wise, pre-despair, I think Hinata would. not have top surgery, obviously. I think he has a fairly average but leaning a little on the hefty side chest (pre-op) and binds it, hence the '91 cm' (but also he still has 91 cm post-op because bazongas). I also just think he leans on the "twunk" side of things at this point, not buff but not stick thin or without muscle, just kind of average with average strength and all, though I think Hinata would've tried to do sports and stuff to find his talent so he's in shape :)
- My personal, kind of amusing, but also kind of... thematical? Headcanon, is that during the Kamukura project, he also underwent gender transition. to be honest, while it may not make sense in modern Japan, I think we can suspend our disbelief for fiction, and also make the argument that Hinata's "transition" into Kamukura CAN be read, in some part, as relatable or at least familiar to the trans experience. Iit is not out of the realm of possibility, either, to assume that because many bits of society in Danganronpa are advanced (specifically science, is extremely ahead of our understanding, almost sci-fi like at times) certain attitudes about gender and sexuality can be smoothed over more in a Japanese context.
(side note: I also think that science-wise, we can suspend our disbelief, and assume that top surgery and bottom surgery are much more advanced in this universe, given the almost unbelievable levels of science in Danganronpa, such as memory wipe, mind control, completely realistic virtual simulation, um literally everything about Kamukura which is body modification and brain modification to an extreme, etc. I think it's kind of fitting within these to assume that... Hinata/Kamukura could just, gain a functioning penis, lol)
Kamukura:
- Kamukura would have a. "Perfect" body. it's stated, I'm pretty sure, that they modified not only his brain but his body, because he needs to be able to perform every talent under their belt with ease, and his strength, instincts, technique, are all superhuman. So it's clear to me he'd have a buff body. toned muscles and all. He wouldn't really feel a need to keep it up, though, but I think since they're very... artificial (basically fucking steroids?) they wouldn't fade from a lack of keep-up.
- Kamukura also rarely ever is injured, but when he does, his body heals rather fast and can care for himself adequately, because again, his body is modified to a point of almost inhumanity.
- Gender wise, Kamukura genuinely does not care. however, I am not one to think that Kamukura is "a different person" from Hinata, rather, he is separate from Hinata, but an extension of Hinata as well, proven that he experiences some of his emotions even if subconsciously and without understanding them. he isn't a different personality or person developed in Hinata's body, but a very traumatizing, repressed, and manipulated version of Hinata given a new name, with memories repressed. He's like Theseus's ship in human form---if you get rid of everything that makes someone themselves and replace it, bit by bit, is it the same person? Technically, yes, but... truly? Who knows.
Because of this, I think Kamukura would have a leaning toward masculine gender performance (in canon, in fact, he uses the soft masculine pronoun "boku" in stead of "ore" like Hinata) BUT I think he is still very nonbinary. In a western sense, i think he would use he/they pronouns, but not really care if someone mistook him for a woman, I suppose.
- His appearance, unironically, is very nonbinary or "he/they" to me because he's wearing a suit, the archetypal form of masculinity, but has extremely long hair, which is considered feminine, and speaks softly (dully). Of course, the bishounen "pretty boy" appearance isn't uncommon or considered less masculine in japan, I think, but there is still a different between soft masculinity and rough masculinity in japan, which lends itself to being interpreted sort of gender non-conforming by western audiences :)
- Kamukura, due to his apathy, struggles with self-maintaining, but as we all probably know i am extremely attached to KamuKoma and thus headcanon that Servant helps him, sort of like a royal servant would royalty in the old days, take care of himself by bathing him, brushing his hair out, grooming him, etc. partially out of duty, partially out of appreciation for Kamukura's body, and partially out of maintaining his sort of "perfect" look since Kamukura, especially post-Junko death, is perceived widely by the public as the new leader of the ultimate despair, even if he is ambivalent to such a title.
Post-DR3 Hinata/Kamukura combined:
As I rambled on about previously, I don't think that Kamukura and Hinata are separate people or personality, I really dislike the interpretation that they are like a "split personality" or operate like DID, because they do not "form" like DID, but also in canon, are not portrayed as separate people.
In post-dr3, Hinata instead says that he is both of them, because he is. Kamukura is Hinata, always was, but had been given a new, false identity, had been stripped of his previous self, his memories, his personality, and crafted into something new. but that did not "split" his brain into two people. It simply repressed who he once was, and made him someone he now was. But when Kamukura regains his memories, his past self, through the means of the new world program by restoring his own memories after SDR2 concludes and he wakes up, as well as doing the same for everyone else, he decides to be "Hajime Hinata" who he always was, but carrying and shouldering the weight of what "Izuru Kamukura" had been, become, and done. Hinata *is* Kamukura, he answers for Kamukura's wrongdoings, his crimes, as something he had done as a different person who's mind operated differently, due to being artificially suppressed, modified, into an apathetic tool for the scientists who made him, and later and aimless, bored individual who simply sought meaning he did not have in the unknown of what despair would be at it's climax. And if hope could overcome it.
As such, I think, when Hinata's self is brought back into the mix, and he now deals with Kamukura's apathy and boredom in part, but much less consuming and much less often, I think hinata is less staunchly "masculine", does not overperform it anymore, and is trying to understand what his past means to him, what his present is, and what his future will be. I think that Hinata would still primarily use he/him (or still use "ore" in Japanese, as it's also a means of his personality, which is a bit rough around the edges and blunt), but be more ambivalent to rigid gender expression, still finding comfort and idealness in masculinity, but not be made dysphoric or feel frightened, uncomfortable, with non-comformity or anything like that. being boyish, masculine, is what he enjoys, but he's comfortable in it now, doesn't need to prove himself or overperform it. He can explore nonconformity without feeling like his gender or masculinity is at threat, even if it's not his preference outright.
Body-wise, I think it's safe to say he retains Kamukura's muscle and all, but Kamukura didn't put much effort into the everyday machinations of being a human being in general, and Hinata is much more fond of food than him now, eats more often, and I enjoy the idea that he gains a little pudge and has a kind of "dad bod" almost, post-DR3? lol.
Both for Hinata and Kamukura I don't see their bodies as “bara” or overly buff, masculine, but a kind of comfortable middle ground between twunk and hunk, lmao. I think they're also averagely hairy, not overly so, very lightly. kind of well groomed, and all. Hinata, pre-despair, put not so much effort into his appearance but still some, especially in trying to pass. (In fact I think his hair cut looks like a home job, all choppy and stuff, which fits him in my opinion, something done by his own hands even if messy and imperfect, he still prefers to be in control of it. also fits the trans headcanon tehe).
Izuru put very little if any effort into himself, only the bare minimum necessary to function, but servant helped him upkeep it to a perfect standard. Hinata, post-dr3 now, finds himself putting you know, an average amount of care into himself and his body, enough to be healthy, but not overly critical and conscious of himself.
Komaeda i have always seen as someone who takes a good deal of care about himself, merely if to alleviate the "disgust" of his appearance and body, by practically preening himself. He is someone who is good at cleaning and seems to appreciate clean and well kept spaces, so I think he would have a similar attitude toward himself. even if he is insecure, and of course, struggles with mental health and may slip at times in his routine in keeping himself well-kept, I think he still maintains an appearance for the most part, at least in his later years (teen to young adult). An argument can be made that he cared less in his adolescence because he had much more apathy about the world, but when he gave himself a purpose with hope and talent, I think he would care for himself a little better, even if his was spiralling mentally.
His hair is always washed, it is just very curly and prone to mess, so it often looks like perpetual bedhead, even when he combs and brushes it. His skin is soft even if a little worn by his tendency for accidents & injury, it's still soft and almost luckily so, and he takes pride in moisturizing and cleaning himself. His skin is a little sickly, still, and I think that despite having blemishes, scars, etc. Komaeda manages to look pretty in a strange way, not conventionally beautiful, but almost ethereal? He's just *pretty*, there's no way to explain it, he is nice to look at even with all his "flaws" and imperfections. Even when he's sickly and bony, even when his cheeks are gaunt or his hands shaky and weak, when his hair is a tangled mess or his clothes are dirty, he's nice to look at in a way that's nonconventional, and it's sort of mesmerizing.
Hinata I think is very average but also in a way that's nice to look at it. He's not ground-breaking hot or conventionally attractive, he has a good body, a nice face, and hair you could play with a little if you wanted. I think what's appealing about him is his normalcy, he's not trying too hard or "gifted" gene wise, but he's just kinda nice to look at, he's enjoyable to be around, an understanding person, or at least tries to be even when he fails, and despite having flaws, insecurities, blunt, he is someone you're drawn to because he's one of those people that's just, easy to talk to? An emotional anchor, almost. The kind of guy everyone kind of knows and has talked to at least once, even if you're not friends with him personally, not because he's cool or popular or anything, but because he's a normal dude who's easy to trust and talk to.
Kamukura, on the other hand, is intimidating, appearance wise and personality wise. he looks, strange, anything but normal, his eyes are red and his hair is this dark cloud that envelops him. His face may still be that plain one Hinata has but faces can be changed by the surrounding attributes as well as expression and such is true for him, with his apathetic and cold expression as well as otherwordly characteristics, he comes off as much more beautiful in a dark way, kind of? In a way that's intimidating or a little daunting, but he's still very beautiful. mesmerizing.
okay, thats my ramble. ty.

Remember Longcat, Jane? I remember Longcat. Fuck the picture on this page, I want to talk about Longcat. Memes were simpler back then, in 2006. They stood for something. And that something was nothing. Memes just were. “Longcat is long.” An undeniably true, self-reflexive statement. Water is wet, fire is hot, Longcat is long. Memes were floating signifiers without signifieds, meaningful in their meaninglessness. Nobody made memes, they just arose through spontaneous generation; Athena being birthed, fully formed, from her own skull.     You could talk about them around the proverbial water cooler, taking comfort in their absurdity. “Hey, Johnston, have you seen the picture of that cat? They call it Longcat because it’s long!” “Ha ha, sounds like good fun, Stevenson! That reminds me, I need to show you this webpage I found the other day; it contains numerous animated dancing hamsters. It’s called — you’ll never believe this — hamsterdance!” And then Johnston and Stevenson went on to have a wonderful friendship based on the comfortable banality of self-evident digitized animals.     But then 2007 came, and along with it came I Can Has, and everything was forever ruined. It was hubris, Jane. We did it to ourselves. The minute we added written language beyond the reflexive, it all went to shit. Suddenly memes had an excess of information to be parsed. It wasn’t just a picture of a cat, perhaps with a simple description appended to it; now the cat spoke to us via a written caption on the picture itself. It referred to an item of food that existed in our world but not in the world of the meme, rupturing the boundary between the two. The cat wanted something. Which forced us to recognize that what it wanted was us, was our attention. WE are the cheezburger, Jane, and we always were. But by the time we realized this, it was too late. We were slaves to the very memes that we had created. We toiled to earn the privilege of being distracted by them. They fiddled while Rome burned, and we threw ourselves into the fire so that we might listen to the music. The memes had us. Or, rather, they could has us.     And it just got worse from there. Soon the cats had invisible bicycles and played keyboards. They gained complex identities, and so we hollowed out our own identities to accommodate them. We prayed to return to the simple days when we would admire a cat for its exceptional length alone, the days when the cat itself was the meme and not merely a vehicle for the complex memetic text. And the fact that this text was so sparse, informal, and broken ironically made it even more demanding. The intentional grammatical and syntactical flaws drew attention to themselves, making the meme even more about the captioning words and less about the pictures. Words, words, words. Wurds werds wordz. Stumbling through a crooked, dead-end hallway of a mangled clause describing a simple feline sentiment was a torture that we inflicted on ourselves daily. Let’s not forget where the word “caption” itself comes from: capio, Latin for both “I understand” and “I capture.” We thought that by captioning the memes, we were understanding them. Instead, our captions allowed them to capture us. The memes that had once been a cure for our cultural ills were now the illness itself.     It goes right back to the Phaedrus, really. Think about it. Back in the innocent days of 2006, we naïvely thought that the grapheme had subjugated the phoneme, that the belief in the primacy of the spoken word was an ancient and backwards folly on par with burning witches or practicing phrenology or thinking that Smash Mouth was good. Fucking Smash Mouth. But we were wrong. About the phoneme, I mean. Theuth came to us again, this time in the guise of a grinning grey cat. The cat hungered, and so did Theuth. He offered us an updated choice, and we greedily took it, oblivious to the consequences. To borrow the parlance of a contemporary meme, he baked us a pharmakon, and we eated it.     Pharmakon, φάρμακον, the Greek word that means both “poison” and “cure,” but, because of the
limitations of the English language, can only be translated one way or the other depending on the context and the translator’s whims. No possible translation can capture the full implications of a Greek text including this word. In the Phaedrus, writing is the pharmakon that the trickster god Theuth offers, the toxin and remedy in one. With writing, man will no longer forget; but he will also no longer think. A double-edged (s)word, if you will. But the new iteration of the pharmakon is the meme. Specifically, the post-I-Can-Has memescape of 2007 onward. And it was the language that did it, Jane. The addition of written language twisted the remedy into a poison, flipped the pharmakon on its invisible axis.     In retrospect, it was in front of our eyes all along. Meme. The noxious word was given to us by who else but those wily ancient Greeks themselves. μίμημα, or mīmēma. Defined as an imitation, a copy. The exact thing Plato warned us against in the Republic. Remember? The simulacrum that is two steps removed from the perfection of the original by the process of — note the root of the word — mimesis. The Platonic ideal of an object is the source: the father, the sun, the ghostly whole. The corporeal manifestation of the object is one step removed from perfection. The image of the object (be it in letters or in pigments) is two steps removed. The author is inferior to the craftsman is inferior to God.     Fuck, out of space. Okay, the illustration on page 46 is fucking useless; I’ll see you there. (21) But we’ll go farther than Plato. Longcat, a photograph, is a textbook example of a second-degree mimesis. (We might promote it to the third degree since the image on the internet is a digital copy of the original photograph of the physical cat which is itself a copy of Platonic ideal of a cat (the Godcat, if you will); but this line of thought doesn’t change anything in the argument.) The text-supplemented meme, on the other hand, the captioned cat, is at an infinite remove from the Godcat, the ultimate mimesis, copying the copy of itself eternally, the written language and the image echoing off each other, until it finally loops back around to the truth by virtue of being so far from it. It becomes its own truth, the fidelity of the eternal copy. It becomes a God.     Writing itself is the archetypical pharmakon and the archetypical copy, if you’ll come back with me to the Phaedrus (if we ever really left it). Speech is the real deal, Socrates says, with a smug little wink to his (written) dialogic buddy. Speech is alive, it can defend itself, it can adapt and change. Writing is its bastard son, the mimic, the dead, rigid simulacrum. Writing is a copy, a mīmēma, of truth in speech. To return to our analogous issue: the image of the cheezburger cat, the copy of the picture-copy-copy, is so much closer to the original Platonic ideal than the written language that accompanies it. (“Pharmakon” can also mean “paint.” Think about it, Jane. Just think about it.) The image is still fake, but it’s the caption on the cat that is the downfall of the republic, the real fakeness, which is both realer and faker than whatever original it is that it represents.    Men and gods abhor the lie, Plato says in sections 382 a and b of the Republic. “Don’t you know,” said I, “that the veritable lie, if the expression is permissible, is a thing that all gods and men abhor?” “What do you     mean?” he said. “This,” said I, “that falsehood in the most vital part of themselves, and about their most vital concerns, is something that no one willingly accepts, but it is there above all that everyone fears it.” Man’s worst fear is that he will hold existential falsehood within himself. And the verbal lies that he tells are a copy of this feared dishonesty in the soul.
Plato goes on to elaborate: “the falsehood in words is a copy of the affection in the soul, an after-rising image of it and not an altogether unmixed falsehood.” A copy of man’s false internal copy of truth. And what word does Plato use for “copy” in this sentence? That’s fucking right, μίμημα. Mīmēma. Mimesis. Meme. The new meme is a lie, manifested in (written) words, that reflects the lack of truth, the emptiness, within the very soul of a human. The meme is now not only an inferior copy, it is a deceptive copy.     But just wait, it gets better. Plato continues in the very next section of the Republic, 382 c. Sometimes, he says, the lie, the meme, is appropriate, even moral. It is not abhorrent to lie to your enemy, or to your friend in order to keep him from harm. “Does it [the lie] not then become useful to avert the evil—as a medicine?” You get one fucking guess for what Greek word is being translated as “medicine” in this passage. Ding ding motherfucking ding, you got it, φάρμακον, pharmakon. The μίμημα is a φάρμακον, the lie is a medicine/poison, the meme is a pharmakon.     But I’m sure that by now you’ve realized the (intentional) mistake in my argument that brought us to this point. I said earlier that the addition of written language to the meme flipped the pharmakon on its axis. But the pharmakon didn’t flip, it doesn’t have an axis. It was always both remedy and poison. The fact that this isn’t obvious to us from the very beginning of the discussion is the fault of, you guessed it, language. The initial lie (writing) clouds our vision and keeps us from realizing how false the second-order lie (the meme) is.     The very structure of the lying meme mirrors the structure of the written word that defines and corrupts it. Once you try to identify an “outside” in order to reveal the lie, the whole framework turns itself inside-out so that you can never escape it. The cat wants the cheezburger that exists outside the meme, but only through the meme do we become aware of the presumed existence of the cheezburger — we can’t point out the absurdity of the world of the meme without also indicting our own world. We can’t talk about language without language, we can’t meme without mimesis. Memes didn’t change between ‘06 and ‘07, it was us who changed. Or rather, our understanding of what we had always been changed. The lie became truth, the remedy became the poison, the outside became the inside. Which is to say that the truth became lie, the pharmakon was always the remedy and the poison, and the inside retreated further inside. It all came full circle. Because here’s the secret, Jane. Language ruined the meme, yes. But language itself had already been ruined. By that initial poisonous, lying copy. Writing.     The First Meme.     Language didn’t attack the meme in 2007 out of spite. It attacked it to get revenge.     Longcat is long. Language is language. Pharmakon is pharmakon. The phoneme topples the grapheme, witches ride through the night, our skulls hide secret messages on their surfaces, Smash Mouth is good after all. Hey now, you’re an all-star. Get your game on.     Go play.

Hi! Thank you for writing the lookism content I needddd. I was wondering if you could do s/o flinching during an argument with Johan, Gun, and Goo? I enjoyed the last one :)
I’m so glad you enjoyed the last one! I hope I did this one justice too.
Headcanons under the cut!
→ part 1
Tumblr media
Johan, Gun, and Goo Reacting to their S/o Flinching During an Argument
Johan Seong
Johan can be very childish
selfish, even
after all, before you, he’s only ever had Eden and Miro
these kinds of arguments are a little common in the beginning of the relationship
but he tends to mellow out when he finally decided to trust you and open up
arguments with Johan can be about anything, really
that doesn’t mean he’s not trying to loosen up
he just can’t help it
he tends to snap at you without any ill intent
and usually, you’re okay with it
you understand that he’s not used to relying on anyone other than himself
however, you can only handle something like this for so long
on one particularly rough day for you, you just can’t handle his terrible attitude
he’ll probably hit a sore spot or touch on your insecurities when you confront him about his behavior
he’s initially shocked when you blow up at him
it’s all down hill from there
vicious words are spat without a second thought, neither of you willing to back down
his eyes are screwed shut as he begins to lose his already thinning patience
the fist clenched at his side begins to raise
only then do you come to your senses, flinching at the sight of Johan’s whitened knuckles
when he hears no response from you he slowly opens his eyes, mortified when he noticed the slight tremble in your stance
his fist falls limply at his side
apologies form at the tip of his tongue, but for some reason, he just can’t say anything
why does he always push people away?
he’s only pulled out of his thoughts when your hand gently brushes the lone tear that streamed down his cheek
out of desperation, he’ll grab your wrist and trap you in a hug
‘I’m sorry’s and ‘I’ll do better, I swear’ are mumbled into your shoulder
“Just please don’t leave me...”
Gun Jong
as I’ve stated in my relationship headcanons, arguments like these with Gun are few and far between so major ones usually happen at the beginning of the relationship or something horrible comes up
he just doesn’t see the point in meaningless conflict
unless it’s a fight, of course
much like Johan, he’s not exactly an expert when it comes to communicating
sure, he can read you like an open book and can tell when he can and can’t push boundaries
but when the topic comes around to him, you tend to draw a blank
(of course, he does get better with time)
he’s secretive; keeping his work separate from his personal life
as odd as it may seem, while he’s not the best at communicating his feelings (or anything about himself, in all honesty), he’s the master at shifting conversations into his favor
this has led to far more conversations about you then about him
at first you don’t notice
but when your friends brag and complain about their partners likes and dislikes, you begin to grow insecure
what did you know about Gun?
you fall so deep in your thoughts, trying to find something that you know about him
his favorite color?
you don’t know
his favorite food?
your mind comes up blank
maybe approaching him right after he got home from work wasn’t the best...
when you asked him about it, he only brushed past you and around the corner
you decided to try again at dinner
this time, his lips pulled into a small scowl
“Why the hell do you want to know about me so bad?”
you snapped yelling at him, your hand slamming painfully onto the table
throughout the argument, he remained calm
the only sign of his distress being the slight narrow in his eyes.
your throat dries up when he lights a cigarette, glaring at you through his lashes before turning back to his food
you’ve seen that glare before
it was a glare reserved for people he found annoying or was about to beat the shit out of
“God, you’re so annoying... Can’t you just shut up?
you flinched back, a cold shiver running down your spine and the hairs at the back of your neck starting to stand
he tilted his head back up at you after a few moments
he reaches out to you, his eyes widening once you flinch away from him
he blinks dumbly for a few moments raking his head through the memories and conversations he’s had with you
you sat up from your seat, mumbling your apologies while desperately trying to get away from him
he’ll give you space for a few days before deciding to approach you again
while he won’t open up immediately, he will over time, now dropping little facts about himself every now and then
Joon Goo Kim
god, why did you choose to date a literal psychopath
unlike the other two, Goo is very open with his emotions
too an extent, of course
he’s competitive, eccentric
and worst of all, very confrontational
he doesn’t give a damn if you or anyone else challenged him to a fight; a fight is a fight, and he’s in for the thrill
fucking sadist
he could care less about the consequences of his actions, sometimes coming home with a twisted arm or broken rib
all of which he would laugh off before counting the money he managed to smuggle off whoever was unfortunate to cross him
as his partner, you’ve grown used to seeing his battered face entering your home with a bag of money hung over his shoulder
but that doesn’t mean you don’t grow worried for him
of course, this type of behavior has sparked more than a few arguments between the to of you
though none could hold a candle to the one-sided screaming fest currently going on between the two of you
“All I’m asking is for you to be careful!”
he rolled his eyes behind his glasses, letting out an exaggerated yawn as he rolled his shoulder
“Thanks, but I never asked for you to care.”
“Yeah--Well what if you die--?!”
a hand slammed next to your head, nearly shattering the wall
“Are you fucking underestimating me?”
you shook under his now blank gaze, flinching as his hand moved from its position beside your head
the hand caressed your cheek gently whilst Goo sighed from above you
he’s not as soft as the other two, but he is sorry for scaring you
also unlike Johan, he won’t ask for forgiveness right away
he’ll shower you in so many gifts and so much affection that you eventually relent and forgive him
he won’t make any promises about his habits but he will try to keep them under control mostly
Tumblr media
haha not proud of this one at all. I literally cannot write Goo--and for what?? Gun’s is so longggg lmao
