Yknow, I’m kinda relieved and grateful and impressed, that they didn’t go the route so common in fanworks of Luz being Amity’s therapist in their relationship, and that being all she’s good for in making Lumity solely about Amity’s development; Like obviously, I love the tenderness of Luz, as this girl who truly was the catalyst for Amity’s growth, as a person she could always count on to be herself and lower her guard around. Someone who would comfort Amity and whom she could trust, but like;

I’m glad they didn’t make it one-sided, and have Luz pull all the heavy lifting and legwork in their relationship. It’s not just mutual, it’s arguably the other way around with Amity doing more of the support for Luz, although Luz’s impact on catalyzing her arc can’t also be forgotten either. With how Amity tries to get Luz to open up about her mom and then dad respectively... It’s very mutual and healthy.

And I feel it reminds the fandom to give Amity some more credit; She’s not as weak and soft as we might make her out to be, she’s capable of providing the same love for Luz that she herself needs! Even when Luz rescues her from Odalia, we see Amity apply her admiration of Luz to form her own resolve to escape before that; Which leads to Amity standing up to her mother! Luz isn’t just saving Amity, she’s giving her the opportunity to save herself; Amity already has plenty of personal initiative to be better and stand up to her parents, on the basis of morals alone! Luz can count on Amity to rescue her from a predicament, too.

Not to mention Amity being allowed to re-cultivate her relationships with her siblings, Alador and Willow; Ensuring she doesn’t exist solely to take in Luz’s love and support while only being her girlfriend. Her life and sense of right and wrong doesn’t revolve around Luz. It prevents Lumity from becoming potentially codependent, and it’s refreshing to see how Luz can actually cause issues in their relationship, not the other way around with Amity constantly caving in to her parents like in fanon. Not only does it hearken back to how Luz admittedly was a disaster magnet for Amity and made her mistakes in S1, it also continues that nuanced dynamic they had from the start, where Luz does sometimes cause problems and Amity has valid feelings, rather than just being the meanie with the sole burden of apologizing and learning from her actions.

And it realistically frames Luz as not being this perfect, do-no-wrong hero; She makes mistakes! She can be a mess and a struggle to be around, it can be frustrating around her as it definitely was prior to Luz meeting Eda and King! It makes Luz compellingly flawed and not just this ideal protagonist. She’s still learning and it’s nice to see Luz be the one who occasionally still messes up, hiding things from Amity; Reaching Out even had Luz be a disaster magnet for Amity one last time, ruining the Bonesborough Brawl and causing some public embarrassment with Alador’s vocal intervention. Luz’s epiphanies are informed by seeing how she can sometimes hurt people!

It’s a realistic relationship but the problems aren’t contrived; And it gives Luz some much-needed love and opportunity to be herself, when Amity calls her out over that. To let go. Even if she doesn’t take it, she’s still receiving that love, and that’s something that I feel was underrated in fanon before S2 made it explicit; That Luz has a burden from always giving, so she deserves to receive just as much!

It’s not imbalanced where Amity benefits more from their relationship than Luz, she very much plays her part and we see how Amity contributes to Luz learning to open up. It’s not taking the easy, obvious route of just making Luz perform all of the emotional legwork for Amity. That’s exhausting, but we get to see Luz lean on Amity’s shoulder too; And again, it doesn’t infantilize Amity and gives her agency, which I respect Lumity and Raeda both emphasizing as a sign of respect and trust.

Amity isn’t some helpless victim, some poor uwu baby for Luz to save, she’s not a damsel; She’s also a hero to Luz just as much as Luz was to her, and it frees up Lumity’s relationship from fitting each girl into a particular ‘role’ like the ‘strong one’ so to speak. It’s not just little or big spoon, and it reminds us how vulnerable Luz is despite her loud and boisterous personality. That pain deserves credit too and I really respect this choice to let Luz lean on the shoulder in S2, instead of making her just Amity’s therapist; It’s a good service to both girls’ characters, and honestly a precedent we should all take cues from. They each reached out to the other; Luz already did a lot encouraging Amity to be herself again in Season 1, now with Season 2 Amity returns the favor and encourages Luz to do the same. Season 3 is likely where it’ll all culminate...

I feel like it would be really hard to mistake Foxy for a dog. "Foxy the pirate Fox" posters are everywhere. Foxy is bright red and has a obviously fox like tail. His name is Foxy.

My main headcannon for Sunny is that he is also Moony. He is 1 animatronic with no split personalities. Sunny and Moony are the same animatronic with 1 personality, wearing 2 different costumes.

I don't think taking inspiration would be much of an issue. Just stay away from straight up taking my idea word for word and doing the exact same thing as me. And don't take my idea word for word, add a bit to it and then call it yours.

And as for the offline stuff. Going against artists wishes is still wrong even if I cant see it.

If people seriously cannot interact with me without going against my wishes. Please block me. Stay as far away from my content as possible. That would be more respectful to me and yourself.

I remember reading about that style of line art and how it was "bad". "Chicken scratching" I think its called. And how people said that its not a proper way to draw and makes the art look bad. But it DOESN'T!!

Controlling lines and getting the perfect shapes is so much easier with chicken scratching. And if you know how to control it and clean it up, its not as messing looking as people think!

Maybe.? I could see them applying ointment to rags and carefully slipping them under and at first it feels nice.. But then having to take the rags out to apply more ointment could cause more pain and irratation..

There's also this property to the chains where they can get tighter at times.. maybe they'd have rags under the chains occasionally. But due to the tightening and irritation maybe they can only do it for a short time. As to not cause Seam any more discomfort..

Oh yeah, there would definitely be this "cool down time" after every mirror where Jevil is wiped out and needs time to get his strength back. The natures of these mirrors is still a bit unknown, even to Jevil. So the first time he collapsed out of exhaustion must have been pretty scary for Seam.. who knows what was wrong with him..

As for the darkener thing, my AU functions off of my bizarre headcannon.

In my AUs, Darkeners, lighteners, and Undertale Monsters and humans.. are 4 separate beings with different properties.

A Deltarune Human is different from an Undertale Human. And a Undertale Monster is not a darkener, or a lightener. They are their own category. Not saying I believe any of this is canon to the games, its likely not. This is just the structure my AU is built on.

And I had this idea that Deltarune and Undertale stuff.. doesn't really mix. Or at least it rarely does. The idea is that the magic that makes up these 4 beings are all different. They don't mix usually, they just clash together.

Asgore cant heal Spamton becuase his magic is sooo different from the magic in Deltarune. Spamton's body just rejects this magic because of how foreign/different it is. A darkener could maybe heal him. And perhaps a Lightener could heal him.? But no one originating from Undertale can give their magic to him. They are just completely different.

Its the same when it comes to food. Some food is universal. Its so simple that nearly any kind of magic can break it down. But a lot of the times the darkeners bodies just, cant absorb Undertale foods. They're so different..

As for advantages or disadvantages.. maybe? There could be a case where a powerful Undertale monster tries to hurt Jevil. But his magic is just, structured sooo differently its basically ineffective. It could also work the other way. Maybe Seam is trying to step up and protect himself. And he only has to use a tiny amount to blow the Undertale opponent away. Its because his magic is so different it pierced right through his foe. Maybe stuff like that.? :0

That is an interesting question.. I'd say it kind'a depends on the AU.?

And like, none of my AUs are actually completed. None of them. Things are always changing or I'm always adding more too it and the story never ends. But still I develop them at different speeds depending on the AU..

For example. My Welcome home AU. The structure for that AU and basic plot was thought up in like 3 days. Same thing with my Digital Circus AU actually,

But my FNAF AU? It took WEEKS to sift through all the games and pick everything apart and carefully construct my own timeline and think of a story for every single animatronic and have it all line up and-

Then there's my Deltarune AU. The basic idea of a traveling Jevil was thought up and constructed in like a day. But the rest of the au is weeks in the making. And its constantly changing and I'm always adding stuff and rearranging things GRAHHH!

It really depends <XD

And some ideas do go unwanted/unused overtime. But mostly I overwrite my own ideas with new ones. I think of a cool idea and I push everything in the AU aside to make it work. Even if the structure of my AU suffers a bit. <XD

I pictured Seam being MUCH younger. I thought of King and Queen being like Asgore and Toriel. Being these powerful boss monsters that live for 100s of years.

I've never played Dr. Mario & Dr. Luigi so any elements from that game were not added to my AU.. :(

Tim Drake has a weird fucking function

The thing about Tim that I find unique is that his life became SO MUCH WORSE after joining the heroing thing. Everybody else had a mid-to-shit life before becoming a hero/living with Bruce and mostly everybody (except Jason who LITERALLY DIED) had their life improved by being a hero/being Bruce's kid (or at least it is typically portrayed as such.

Tim had the exact opposite trajectory. His life wasn't perfect before he became Robin, but like...multi-millionaire/billionaire (canon is unclear, but he's within Gotham's upper-strata) kid with both natural intelligence + charisma and a bright future ahead of him and parents who were emotionally neglectful but nothing really beyond that (which is also a form of trauma, but all of the info we have indicates that the Drakes were no Arthur Brown or David Cain) and he still had other people he could rely on outside of them. He went to boarding school, which could be something horrible OR something amazing depending on your own thoughts/experiences. I grew up having a commute where we'd drive past a really pretty and rich af boarding school that literally everybody in our area DREAMED of going to, so to me the idea of going to boarding school sounds incredible but mileage may vary. Tim seems like the type of kid who would thrive in that though. Based on what we know in canon atm, his pre-robin life was fucking amazing.

And then he starts being the sidekick and working towards becoming Robin. His parents immediately get kidnapped and poison themselves through drinking tainted water; his mom dies and his dad is in a coma. This is not the fault of Robin, but Tim himself muses about the idea that Robin and dead parents are linked: to become Robin completely, you must lose your parents. And with how fate/destiny/canon events can operate in comics universes, maybe he isn't that far off. Once his dad wakes up, their relationship becomes strained as the man grieves the loss of his wife and realizes that his son has been doing vigilantism as a hobby. It is unclear exactly how good of a parent Jack was before the incident, but the results of Tim's involvement with the Robin mantle has definitely made things worse between father and son. Jack will also die within quick succession of 2 of Tim's best friends, his girlfriend, and his other father. He will also effectively lose like 1/2 his loved ones in the fallout of all of that mess including: his older brother, his other friends (both civilian and superhero), and the stepmother with whom he shared what I would argue is his best parent-child relationship (Dana also may have died, but it's left unclear). He has stopped pursuing higher education (the moment he even applied for college he 'died', and it seems he hasn't made another attempt since) and if he wasn’t a major focus of the media before he sure is now. He tries to quit briefly (in fact he initially was planning on quitting once someone more suited came along) and cannot bring himself to do so. Even when he does manage to get away for a while, his superhero life impacts the pre-robin life he is trying to go back to. Leaving is an impossibility, this is all there is for him now. He also isn’t allowed to make mistakes anymore, not when lives hang in the balance. The one who enforces that impossible standard the most (besides Bruce depending on who's writing) is himself. He’s got TRAUMA now and people want to hurt him constantly. He is constantly questioning his own sanity and morality and place in the world. He almost dies like every month. Tim grows colder and less grounded, he is becoming both a better and a worse version of himself at the same time. He’s saving lives in the same few issues as he’s setting up a Saw movie plot for the man who killed his father. He is haunted by the ghosts of his past and the looming figure of his future. His life becomes SO MUCH FUCKING WORSE after he becomes Robin. Some of it is the fault of others, some is the fault of circumstance, and some of it is due to his own actions. But basically all of Tim's worst traumas and life-changing moments are either tied to or caused by Robin. Dick's parents would still be dead, Jason would still be living on the streets, Stephanie would still have Arthur Brown for a father and a lot of other things that deserve their own posts/IDK if they've been retconned, and Damian would still have been raised in the eco-cult where death is a constant. Those are life circumstances that occur without the involvement of Robin, the only one who even needs Bruce involved at all in their series of events is Damian. But Tim? All of what is considered his 'worst' moments occur after he assumes the role.

This idea is what I find the coolest and most fascinating about Tim as a character. Being a hero is usually portrayed as either an outright awesome thing or a righteous duty that one must fulfill or (maybe in a grimmer and/or more grounded story) a sacrifice to your interpersonal relationships/mental health that is made for the greater good. For Tim, being a superhero actively ruined his life (both because of the general circumstances surrounding being a kid vigilante and the choices he made as part of that role). It's never portrayed that way in canon because we need to come out of issues going 'wow being a superhero is so cool! I'm gonna buy the next issue!', but when you just look at Tim's life literally everything really bad that we know of occurred after he became Robin.

And I disagree because I don't think any of them are boring #but it is definitely the hardest to explain what makes Tim interesting to people with only a cursory knowledge #and it doesn't help that a lot of what makes Tim cool relies on his relationships with OTHER characters.#like you can explain why Jason is cool and interesting without even mentioning Batman if you really want to.#with Tim you need a fucking relationship chart and like 11 asterisks whenever anything involving the 'Bruce is dead' era is involved #so I just felt like typing up why I think he can really work as an exploration of somebody who straight up got WORSE after heroing #granted it's never actually stated because DC needs to make money. and tbh the closest we've ever gotten is Red Robin 2009 #which I feel is dubiously canon at best at this rate. was it retconned? did any of it happen in the current universe?

Oshi no Ko's Angel of Light: Kamiki Hikaru

So, I wrote a review of Oshi no Ko previously, just not on this blog. I talked there about the meaning of Hoshino Ai as a name (it's literally hoshi no eye, Ai spelled in katakana to reinforce that it's a loanword, meaning starry eye, and of course, eye/ai is a homonym for love) and how Oshi no Ko uses wordplay and puns to introduce its themes.

Naturally, I wanted to talk about the other parent, whose name is just as significant.

Kamiki Hikaru is literally "god of light/shining god." Well, okay, sort of. It's technically "kami of light," and kami doesn't translate super well into English. It's often referred to as a god in Shintoism, but it's not quite the western perception of a god. Spirit is another popular translation.

Of course, this references the supernatural themes of the story, as well as Hikaru's role. See, "angel of light" is what the Christian Bible calls Lucifer, the Christian devil. Pretty fitting for Hikaru's role in the story as the main villain.

But wait! There's more! Lucifer itself, as a name, refers to the planet Venus, known as the morning star. Which, of course, is the "star" we see in the story associated with Ai.

(Yes, the story is very much using distinctly Christian allusions alongside Shinto ones.)

Hikaru, like Lucifer, is known to, well, want everything for himself. That doesn't mean he wants all the worship of the world like Lucifer literally did according to mythology. No, instead it's far more insidious but no less disturbing: he sees himself as entitled to dictate how the world runs. He decides whose life is worth living, and makes others pay for mistakes of people they don't even know. He's playing God, in other words--exactly what Lucifer did to fall from heaven in Christian mythology (it's not actually super biblical hence why I'm using "mythology").

Lucifer is also called "Satan" obviously, which literally means "accuser" in Hebrew. That's kind of the perfect summary for what Hikaru sees himself as: he's visiting his hatred of an abuser he has every right to hate on everyone and everything that remotely reminds him of her.

The thing is, as said above, Hikaru does have the right to hate Airi, just like Aqua has the right to hate him. But following the path of revenge is Not The Way.

So, is Hikaru Satan?

No. He's a person.

The Path To Hikaru

Hikaru is not all that different from the other characters we know and love--Ai, Ruby, Kana, Akane, and especially Aqua. Fitting since they're all idols of sorts (yes, Akasaka is constantly using religious references to add social commentary to the idea of an "idol" as a false god/object of worship). They're also all actors.

Hikaru is what Aqua risks becoming. No, seriously. Hikaru was traumatized as a child via rape that led to the creation of a life.

As a result he's pretty anti-life as a whole, and especially anti-woman. He's constantly seeking revenge on women, hence his murder-happy spree. The problem is that he's not seeing these women as individuals: he sees everyone and everything as a representation of Airi, the person who assaulted him.

Also, society as a whole's attitude towards male victims of sexual assault, especially male victims of attractive women, means that Hikaru would not be seen as a victim. One of OnK's major themes is how messed up society is and how it dehumanizes people via fitting them into roles, and this is a perfect example of the harm that can come from it. Hikaru would be seen as a boy, and all boys clearly want sex. A famous actress slept with him? Lucky him! Even though this never came out publicly, Hikaru absolutely knew this was the case and it certainly plays a role in his grudge against the world.

Even though Airi is dead (probably as a result of him provoking her husband by revealing that he wasn't the father), he still isn't satisfied. No, Airi is still everywhere. Killing the perpetrator, making them pay, did not erase his trauma.

If Aqua kills Hikaru, his trauma will likewise not be erased. Not his trauma as Gorou, not his trauma as Aqua. Hikaru's death will fix absolutely nothing in his life besides stopping more murders, but there are ways to do that that, y'know, don't involve killing. If Aqua kills Hikaru, he will lose the best part of Gorou (valuing life) and the best part of Aqua (the future Ai wanted for him, a future with Kana and Ruby).

Aqua, You are Your Father

Aqua, you are your father. It's almost like the entire series has been trying to give you this message and you keep ignoring it. (By the way, because I know I'm going to get asks about this, I am NOT saying Aqua and Hikaru are moral equivalents. Not at all. I'm just saying that Aqua is walking a path that will end with him being just like Hikaru if he doesn't get shoved off said path.)

From being the violent stalker who attacks someone who has never felt loved in his first acting job after Ai's death to scenes like this:

The story is asking Aqua to take a good long look at himself, and he's trying desperately to avoid doing this. Why? Because he's also playing God, same as his father, same as Satan in Christianity. He thinks he is responsible for everything; a natural, childish attitude that people grow out of as they age.

Of course, Aqua is not nearly as toxic in this as Hikaru--he's not attacking innocent people--but the root of this is still a belief that he somehow controls what happens, when he doesn't. He doesn't at all.

Aqua, too, is just a person.

But Aqua struggles to understand what it means to be a person, to be Hoshino Aquamarine.

He struggles to see other people as people, too. This ranges from sabotaging Ruby's auditions to how he treats Akane to his protecting Kana without considering what she wants. It's been brought up multiple times in the story so far:

Aqua also fundamentally does not see Ai as a human being, either. Unlike Ruby, who calls Ai "Mama," Aqua only ever calls her "Ai," her persona. Aqua and Ai are foils to Kana and her own mother, in that Kana's mom lived through Kana only to abandon her, and Aqua is living through his mom... but ignoring what she would actually want.

(Ruby isn't flawless or perfectly healthy, and the story certainly doesn't frame them as good twin bad twin, but Ruby's overall worldview is absolutely more in line with what the story wants to endorse.) That's why we have lines like this, where Ruby reveals that she has a healthier view of their mother than Aqua does. She knows Ai was flawed.

This is extra notable because he has 0 problems calling Hikaru his father. It's almost like Aqua is drowning in self-hatred, in feeling unloved, in the idea that he brings bad luck just by existing.

He'll call out Ruby for her negative traits, but Aqua thinks he deserves them. Aqua dehumanizes himself, the same way he dehumanizes Ai, and he has to see both his mother and himself people before he can step off this path.

Essentially, what he tells Ruby here is exactly what he needs to realize, but he has not done so.

The root of Aqua's God complex is that he cannot move past his trauma. It's actually psychologically realistic that a child who experienced such an event would be stuck in a childish mindset wherein they feel guilt for not being able to save their mother.

But it's not just Ai that Aqua couldn't save. It's Sarina, too. She is the one who introduced him to Ai, after all. He didn't move on from her death in his past life, either, which can probably be traced back to his own tragic birth circumstances--the idea that he only brings death, because his mother died giving birth to him. Gorou even states that he became a doctor to help people like his mother, but the point is also that he wanted to bring life, not death.

Except, he isn't God. Neither Gorou nor Aqua are. He can't save Sarina, and that isn't his fault. But Sarina ends up okay as Ruby, not through his own intervention. Aqua couldn't save Ai, but that's not his fault.

The point I'm making here is that Aqua needs to heal the hurting child within him. The story has also brought up the theme of children suffering at the hands of the entertainment industry numerous times:

His path towards healing would involve taking a long look not just at the hurting child in himself, but the hurting child in Hikaru, too. Which is not the same as excusing. After all, we already saw what happened with Aqua thought his dad was dead: despite the supposed justice and his proclamations about being free, he was still every inch the trapped, terrified, traumatized child afraid to live. Killing Hikaru won't be any different.

Becoming Human

So, is there hope for Aqua?

Yeah. A ton of it.

Despite the tragedy of Ai's story, every other arc has ended optimistically. The story's optimism, also, is fundamentally rooted in humanity. Every character, even the ones who seem like exploitative jerks like the producers who edited Akane to look bad and the self-centered mangakas, end up having their thoughts and motives explored, and we see where they are coming from. Not only that, but they have the best of intentions.

Frankly, this is true to life as well. Precious few people see themselves as the villain. Almost everyone thinks they're doing the right thing. It's very human.

The end of the reality dating show arc is kind of what I expect in the end here. There, all contestants came together and pooled their unique individual talents to exonerate Akane. I would expect Ruby, Miyako, Kana, and Akane (who herself has finally realized that she can step into her own personhood instead of trying to be Ai/whatever Aqua needs and vowed to stop him) to come together to save Aqua from himself.

Aqua is incredibly loved, and he doesn't seem to understand this. Love is what enabled Ai to die smiling. A lack of love, feeling undeserving of love, is what torments Sarina/Ruby, Aqua, Kana, and more. The bastardization of love is what torments Hikaru.

Love allows someone to be themselves, truly, to individuate. This is what Aqua needs to learn:

He also doesn't need to earn the love of those around him, nor the love of Ai. She loved him just because he was her son, and all she wanted was for him to be happy and to live.

Imo, it's pretty unlikely Akasaka plans to end the series with Aqua becoming Hikaru 2.0. My guess is that Hikaru will be stopped because of Aqua, and he'll even likely die, but not at Aqua's hand. I suspect Akane, Ruby, and especially Kana (the one person Aqua has consistently placed above Ai) will help save Aqua from himself.

Whenever you start something, you set expectations for yourself that you will become perfect at this instantly or before anyone else. Due to this, you might be emotionally invested in whatever you do and whenever you make a mistake or see someone else doing something easily, you start to question your abilities and think that they aren't good enough and feel like your younger self again. You are stuck in a negative mindset and have many toxic emotions like bitterness, resentment and hatred could be towards others or yourself, some of you may even use these emotions as motivation. You may often feel emotionally drained and find it hard to concentrate and focus on things.

Let go of your habit of doing everything by yourself especially when help is offered to you. You may ask the universe or a higher power for help (even searching for some type of guidance online) for someone to help you get out of the mess but when the help does come to you, you decline it. You may feel like no one understands you or gets you or you are afraid that people might not care about you. But the universe wants to tell you that it is not true and you can feel connected to someone only if you allow yourself. Try not to shut down these offers out of fear of vulnerability. When someone offers to help you try being grateful and be vocal about it instead of your usual "no I can do it by myself". Nothing wrong with being independent but also there is no harm in asking for help. I got this strong message of 'you are at the right place, at the right time' so for some of you, the event and the people around you are due to a divine arrangement so maybe this could be your chance to heal a part of your inner child because there is a soul connection to those around you.

You might feel guilty for not taking control of your life decisions. You feel like you don't have enough 'knowledge' to make decisions, so always give others the authority to make the decisions for you. Maybe when you were young, you were made fun of or looked down on for making "silly" choices or selecting the wrong option. Now you could be like 'oh I just need outside advice about this xyz situation' and end up doing exactly what they said even though you do not like it because you feel like if you followed your own advice you would fail 100%) You may also feel guilty for procrastinating or ignoring the things that need to be done, its there in the back of your mind but some of you could try to shut it by saying "well what can I do about it? Now is not the right time for it!" and continue sitting in your couch potato position. Also for some of you, whenever someone brings up this topic you try to ignore it or get irritated by it, not in a childish way but in more of a "rebellious" teenager way. You may feel like no one loves you or cares about you and people are secretly hating on you and are jealous of you but for the majority of you, it is most likely in your head (imaginary haters). You have longed so much for something better and since you are not getting it (sometimes you may even feel like there is no chance of this future for you), you have unknowingly developed a pessimistic attitude even though you say that you are being "realistic" about life. There is a strong message about having two choices( you got like 5 cards about it). The universe is telling you that every day you have two choices; to feel the passion within you or to numb it. If you can find enjoyment in your life now, even more, will come. It is either to do or to not. If you don't do it, you can enjoy your comfort now while occasionally feeling guilty about it and later on feel overwhelmed because you do not have enough time for it or you could do it and give yourself time to process it.

Everyone makes mistakes (even the person that you constantly go to for advice and consider authority) its normal to make them, we are all humans. Do not let this fear stop you from even starting something that you want. Let go of your 'pride' which is limiting you from growing. You also embody the strengths you admire in the people you look up to. Don't try to "compare" yourself to the talents, and achievements of others. Identify what life lesson you seem to be repeating, it is one of the big lessons you're here to work on. Instead of getting frustrated and wanting this to be over as soon as possible, learn what this repetition is teaching you. When you decide to change from your old patterns for something good and make efforts to improve yourself every day, it is something to feel proud of. Even if you do not see it, you are getting better and wiser every day.

You might feel guilty whenever you get emotional. You might feel afraid to open up emotionally because you feel like it will backfire on you in the future and you will get hurt. Maybe when you were young you were shamed or made fun of for crying or being excited about things (i saw a little child collecting stones/ shells from the beach and then getting scolded by the parent, so take however that resonates) You may feel uncomfortable around emotions of others and unknowingly be cold towards because when you felt emotionally vulnerable you were told to not be so sensitive and you don't know what to do. Many of you could be men/ raised were raised as the "man of the house" from a young age regardless of your gender and you were told to toughen up because there was a time to have emotions and be "weak", especially from a mother figure (even in the song I recommended he is talking to his mother). Also, some of you think that if show your emotions it will lead to some sort of financial failure, which relates to the previous line where I said that some of you had to be the man of the house and had some sort of financial responsibility since a young age. Now you find yourself in an unbalanced situation, where you think that following your brain and shutting down your emotions is the right thing to do because that is what you were taught as a child but a part of you says 'this isn't how it is supposed to be, I am a human too, I am supposed to live life and feel too like all the others do.' For this, you will have to stop the thoughts that somehow convince you or put the fear in your mind that something bad WILL happen. When you are anxious about something that hasn't even happened yet, then you are harming yourself with your thinking. Tell yourself that your negative thoughts are just thoughts and not your reality.

The more you clean out your personal surroundings, you will feel less heavy and stressed on the inside. Your body and mind have been under immense stress, you have every right to live for yourself and be happy. Love yourself and be open to love. Renew your love for yourself and try to feel with your heart and not your ego. Slow down and enjoy the little things in life and learn to appreciate them. Learn how to balance being in the real world and what your inner self wants. You may feel like there is no time for 'self-care', but sometimes it is important to shut down your mind and listen to your body (you could even feel tremors in your body that happen due to a lot of stress) Protect your health and well-being first.

“What took you so long?” Shinobu asks. She’s treading water in the deep end of the hotel pool, loose hair swirling around her in a coppery cloud. The setting sun tinges everything in a bloody hue.

“I had to return a few calls,” Kira says. “Everything’s been a scramble since Fukami retired, and we just got a group of new hires last week. Lots of little fires to put out, people forgetting passwords and getting locked out of the network, that sort of thing.”

“Still, you’d think they’d leave you alone for the weekend. It’s supposed to be a vacation.”

“Oh, I talked to Hayato, too,” Kira says breezily, circling around to the far end of the pool, where the steps are. Shinobu makes a lazy half-turn to follow him. “Just making sure he’s not missing us too much.”

“Aw, I would have waited if I knew you were doing that! Is he okay?”

“As far as I can tell.”

“Do you think we should have left him some money? He could order something for dinner. I know we have leftovers, but-”

“He’s twenty-four,” Kira says, wincing as he steps down into the shallows. He sprained his hip years ago, after a hard fall, and it never really recovered. “I think he knows how to use the microwave.”

“I just worry about him sometimes,” Shinobu says. She’s lost a good deal of that frantic neediness Kira used to loathe, but the subject of Hayato always manages to bring out what’s left. “I wish he’d go out more.”

Their son- her son, Kira reminds himself, the correction as automatic as the mistake- is as sullen and reticent as ever, but he’s an excellent student and rarely bothers Kira with much of anything. He’s more of a skittish animal than a human being these days, slat-sided and dull-eyed, only suffering the company of his parents when necessity-food, finances, medical care- demands it. He knows his time is precious and limited. He knows he’s only a squatter on a bigger, nastier predator’s turf. It’s not a matter of if, but when.

Kira has been thinking it might finally be time to rid himself of Hayato, now that he’s close to graduating. It’s going to be hard to keep an eye on him if he moves out (a minuscule possibility, but not one to discard entirely). Really, he should have done it years ago, but it always felt slightly more advantageous to have a living son than a dead one, even though Kira’s cover was near-perfect after that first tumultuous summer. Maybe he felt like being generous, after all the hard work Hayato put in to clean up his own mess. Maybe Shinobu isn’t the only one who’s mellowed a little with age.

Older, grayer, slower; joints stiffer, muscles stringier, fat settling where it’s least wanted. Kosaku’s hair, at least, is as thick and brushy as ever, showing no signs of thinning out. The lines and contours of the other man’s face feel as familiar to Kira as his own, now. He likes to think he’s molded the blunt features towards a rough sort of elegance.

Two years ago marks a tipping point, the moment where he had officially been with Shinobu longer than the man he’s impersonating. Kira knows her as intimately as a hand knows a glove, the comfort of their relationship a soothing balm to the various irritations of life. It isn’t what he would have chosen for himself, but its value has gradually accrued, layers of nacreous buildup over the irritating grit of the circumstances forcing them together.

Shinobu knows how he takes his coffee, and when he expects her to have it ready. He’s played the part of the steadfast provider diligently, worked until the house they rented became the home they owned. When Kira, in a moment of drunken idiocy, told Shinobu exactly which part of the female anatomy captivated him, she listened, and bravely offered him the use of her first two fingers, probing and swirling until he felt the sweet scratch of fingernails on his soft palette.

Yes, it’s quite nice.

He ducks under the water, eyes open despite the sting, and kicks out towards Shinobu. When he surfaces, she puts her arms around him, and they float together, the water lapping at them hungrily. In the last dregs of daylight, the water beading on Shinobu’s body flares like molten gold.

“I think I see a little gray coming in,” he says.

“Where?” She’s been dyeing her hair meticulously, scared of looking old. As if.

“Right… here.” He presses a kiss to her temple, disregarding the chlorine tang. Affection and certainty swell in his chest. He’ll kill Hayato, just as soon as they return from Tokyo. Everything is going to fall right into his hands, just like the girl stuffed in the hallway maintenance closet next to their room.

It’s all so easy. He wanted her, and then he had her, almost before he was ready, their eyes meeting as he stepped out into the hall with his swim trunks and towel. His limp, incredibly, has done more to endear him to women than a lifetime of practiced blandness. They disregard him with confidence, certain he can’t do them any harm. Foolish.

Kira has been using his stand less and less as the years go by, savoring the pop of cartilage and crunch of ligaments as he strangles them, the stupid bovine fear laid bare in those exhilarating final moments. It’s not need that drives him to kill anymore, but an aimless sense of play, satiated but still desiring to chew, swallow, and digest.

But this one might be different. He’ll see how he feels when they get back to their room. Soon there will be places to go, and a body to destroy, and words to say, in the darkness of night under thin hotel sheets. But for now he sits suspended with his wife in the pool, weightless, and it’s perfect.

celebrating your birthday

A/n: It's nowhere near my birthday but whatever

Amity: It's been a while since she's had a real birthday party. She used to get mager ones when she was friends with Boscha. In retrospect that was probably to impress Boscha's parents. But enough about all that it's your big day. And with money (that she totally didn't steal from her mom) she wants to make sure that you have a great birthday. She takes you to any store you want. And then gets you your favorite food.

Luz: She loves birthday parties so much!!! She goes all out. There's a bunch of decorations. And if you like having more people there, all of her friends are there. Which we know is a fucking lot. If you don't want a lot of people that's okay. She buys your favorite cake. You only turn whatever age your turning once. And now I've at least alluded to Boscha two more times than I thought I would.

Willow: She's never been one that likes big crowds. And no matter how many people are on your part she'd feel kind of awkward. So she hosts a party that's just the two of you. On the plus side, it's more special. Also, her dads make you a cake <3.

Hunter: The FUCK is a birthday? Yeah, I think I've made it clear the Empoer's coven and the Empoer himself suck. Like doesn't even know what that word means. But once he finds out he's determined to give you a good one. Despite never being to or having one himself. And it's very all over the place, You have no cake but do have ice cream. Not sure how he managed to mess up the biggest part of the birthday. He's trying okay? Also the number of gifts he good you was absurd.

Vee: She kind of knows what birthdays are. A few kids had them at camp (Which was probably sad as fuck.) So while the general decorations are kinda dull. The gifts are great! Most (affordable) things you want you get. Though there are a few oddballs in there. Like she just got you a straight-up weapon.

Raine: Pretty good birthday. The happy birthday song is 10x more awkward. Because they have a beautiful singing voice. Thankfully they also are an awkward mess when it comes to stuff like that. So they probably won't sing it (if you don't when them to.) All of the gifts they get you are sweet.

Eda: Never trust Eda to throw a party, worst mistake of my life. There are so many different shows and gamed-themed plates it's insane. The presents don't make any sense. Like a book about how to get better at abominations, while your human ass is just sitting there confused as fuck. She starts laughing and then just straight up gives you 250 snails.

Emria: She bakes the cake herself (and almost burns the house down.) She's not great at the whole planning the party thing. But it is still an enjoyable experience! While the wrapping job might have been so bad that you could see the gifts, said gifts were still great. Is her lacking ability in making birthday parties just a her thing or is her mom also at the core of this? I don't know, you decide.

Edric: Dude was stressed. He wanted it to be perfect! But, just like his siblings, he had no clue what to do. I mean he'd had birthdays, but he's not known for excelling. And with his mom being Odaila there was no chance of him getting a proper birthday. Cue the googling! The birthday isn't very extravagant, despite his wealth. But it is a fun time. He did end up getting pin the tail on the donkey. So that's pretty fun.

The Collector: Any chance to throw a party is a chance he'll take! And it was about you? That's twice the fun. He can make you the biggest cake with just a snap of his finger, not sure how good it would taste but that's beside the point. Also, the presents are great, obviously. You guys have stereotypical "girls" birthday parties. You have a slumber party, eat pizza, play truth or dare, and stay up all night.

Lilith: She probably wouldn't do anything major for your party. A slice of a cake and a small gift or two. It's not that she doesn't care about you, she does a lot! She doesn't really celebrate her birthday. (Sorry boys it's not angst this time I just don't think she likes celebrating her birthday.) That being said, if you want a bigger party she's not totally against the idea. But the only people she has the confidence to ask are Hooty, Luz, and Eda (King probably tagged along.) It's pretty hectic, as all things with the owl family are, but it's honestly the best birthday you've had.

Gus: Gus is almost the biggest overachiever out there (second only to Hunter.) So he's more than excessive. He takes all his past parties and parties he's been to and combines them into one big party. He invited Willow over to make sure it looked okay (bless her and the crap she has to deal with.) She tells Gus in the nicest way possible that you'd probably have a heart attack from all the colors. She quickly helped him fix everything up. When you do come over it's overall presentable. It's a far cry from what Gus had planned but it is chill.

Defending the Pink Princesses with Grey Mortality:

Some people like to give Princess Bubblegum and Rose Quartz such a hard time.

But why on earth is that?

Sure, they did morally messed up things, but so did the other characters in their shows.

So, why are these pink ladies given the most grief over their mistakes?

I think I know why.

It's because people expect them both to be perfect.

But the sad truth is that nobody is perfect, not even our favorite characters.

But I also understand that learning the characters you like ended up doing messed up things can mess with your own head.

Princess Bubblegum was originally Finn's love interest (even though Finn is 12 and she's 18... why?) and she was a sweet person, despite some of her mad scientist quirks.

But when Finn got a new love interest (Flame Princess), the writers decided to change Bubblegum's personality quite a bit.

They slowly made Bubblegum into a control freak that spies on everyone and she isn't quite as warm as she used to be.

...Yeah, even I didn't like that the writers did to her sometimes.

But to be fair, the fantasy world that they live in is a dangerous place (in even rains swords sometimes) and the candy people are literally at the bottom of the food chain. Most of the candy people are not the brightest people, with only a select few actually being smart (like Peppermint Butler). Also, candy people explode when they get too scared.

It's no wonder she's so viciously overprotective and controlling.

She also had no true parents and basically raised herself and her brother, so she doesn't know better about certain things.

And unlike others shows that would most likely sugarcoat or ignore a main character's flaws and mistakes, some of the other characters are aware of how messed up Bubblegum has become.

Later on, Bubblegum gets called out for her mistakes a few times and she even get punished when she temporarily loses her kingdom.

And when she gets it back, she gets better and less controlling.

You gotta give her credit for that.

She isn't perfect, she makes mistakes, but she's trying to improve herself for all her loved ones.

At the end of the day, she just wants to protect her people and the kingdom that she created, because their world is a silly yet dangerous place and most of her kingdom is dim-witted.

Meanwhile, Rose Quartz aka Pink Diamond was originally seen as Steven's perfect heroic deceased mother that everyone in his family loved.

But like Bubblegum, her flaws and mistakes are slowly revealed to us, showing us that she's not as perfect as her loved ones think she is.

She is smart, but not very wise.

She doesn't think about how certain choices can cause possible consequences in the future.

She also has a tendency to ditch people (Diamonds, Crystal Gems, Spinel) and keep secrets from them.

Steven even begins to kinda resent her.

Especially after the Pink Diamond plot twist.

Which I'm not a big fan of.

But to be fair, she was raised and surrounded by evil gems.

So, it makes sense that she's not the most moral or wisest person sometimes.

I'm just saying that considering her messed-up life before coming to Earth and how she was raised, she could have turned out a lot worse.

At the end of the day, she did save the Earth and wanted to protect the humans.

Plus, she's already technically dead, so there's not much that can be done about her anyway.

And I think that the true reason Rose had Steven at the cost of her life is so that the Crystal Gems can finally have a proper bond with a human being and understand why Rose cares about them.

Because the Crystal Gems didn't have any actual human friendships, before Steven arrived (except maybe Amethyst).

They protected the Earth because that's what Rose wanted.

CHAPTER FOUR.

ok im gonna drop my character analysis on splinter/lou jitsu because im tired of people hating on him.

lets think about the circumstances he was in for moment. image you spent your life as a kickass action star only to get kidnapped by the person you loved and forced to fight in the battle nexus. you have to go through the grief of being betrayed by someone you shouldve been able to trust while now living in a chamber (which looks like it has just the poorest living conditions) and you have zero contact to the outside world, AND your ex who got you into this mess is using you for profit and throws you into fights you have no say in for peoples entertainment for who knows how long! i dont think its ever been stated how long he has been living like that!

now on top of all that imagine the moment you escape you get turned into a fucking rat. now i know its usually joked about but seriously being a rat does seem to really bother splinter and if you think about for like 5 seconds? yeah? why wouldnt it? he basically had his body changed in ways he did not consent to.

so yeah obviously after all that this guy is mentally ill as fuck and i bring all this up because of course it affects his parenting. imagine going through all that and now you have to be a dad to FOUR children (all of which are babies at this time) that you understand none of the biology of, and you have to raise them with ZERO outside support (seriously why doesnt anyone talk about that. what does he do if he needs someone to babysit them or one of them gets sick cause he aint a docter) all this combined makes me think yeah. ofc hes not gonna do a good fucking job.

and when the boys are teenagers and dont need the 24/7 supervision they did as babies. you see splinter spending a lot of his time watching tv melting into the recliner because * drum roll * he is depressed. i do not think he is lazy i think he is depressed and probably traumatized but he never had time to process that trauma because he had to be a dad.

because he spends so much time sulking in the living room his sons (specifically donnie) feel like he doesnt want to spend time with them and are reasonably upset with him.

so in the 22nd episode of the first season when splinter tricks donnie into entering the demolition derby. that was an eye opener for him to be better. he saw the absolute hurt in donnie’s eyes and tone of voice because he thought he wanted to spend time with him. that was the eye opener he needed to realize “oh shit. i really fucked up. i need to spend time with my sons. i need to be better for them.” and he apologizes to donnie because yeah, what he did wasnt okay.

and you can tell he changed for his sons because in “hidden city’s most wanted” you can tell all he wanted to do was spend time with mikey.

and the thing is there is nothing that can convince me his sons (and april to admitably) dont mean the fucking world to him. when draxum tells him that before him he had no purpose, that he was a husk of a man he says hes not lost anymore because he has his sons. his sons were the first thing he thought of when he needed a reason to why his life didnt fucking suck now.

this man went against the hamato clan teachings and almost got all of humanity killed for the sake of his sons. he loves his sons and he hasnt been great to them and he wants to change because he knows they deserve better. there is literally so much love emanating from this family.

a lot of people say that splinter is abusive/neglectful and im not denying that hes not perfect but jesus you can criticize his parenting without treating him like an irredeemable monster (because he is redeemable and he did change for the better)

also i know yall arent gonna wanna hear this but someones gotta say it cause its the truth: in general people will be harder on ethnic parents and treat them less like actual people capable of making mistakes. yes splinter is a rat but he is still ethnically japanese. he is a person of color and as someone whos been in fandom for awhile yeah people are suspiciously a lot more forgiving to white parents who make mistakes compared to when parents of color make them. i really do think its causing a bias.

A/N: I feel so terrible for doing this but I wanted this fic to hurt

Steve Harrington was the best boyfriend. He was kind-hearted, charismatic, protective and very handsome. He wasn't good with words, but he made up in gentleman gestures by opening doors for you and walking on the street side of the sidewalk, and always telling you how beautiful you looked - even if you looked like a hot mess.

Unlike your past boyfriends, Steve got along with your parents. He talked football with your father although he was more into basketball. He was close to your mother, always bringing her flowers when he'd come over for dinner and complimenting her cooking.

''He's so charming and endearing. Polite too. You got yourself a good one,'' your mother said after Steve left one evening, having fallen under the Steve Harrington charm.

You couldn't ask for anything better.

All your single friends were jealous, envying you and your relationship.

''You hit the jackpot with this one, Y/N. I'd steal him if he wasn't taken.''

After a trip to the army supply store outside Hawkins, Steve parked the stolen camping-car by a field and everyone got ready for the grand battle against Vecna. Him and Robin were making Molotov cocktails, Max, Erica and Lucas were making spires with knives, ropes and sticks, Dustin and Eddie were making shields with trash can lids and nails while you and Nancy were committing a felony.

''Please hold the shotgun while I cut the barrel,'' Nancy asked, holding the saw in her hand. With a shorter barrel, she won't miss.

You nodded, keeping the firearm in place on the rusted metal box you had found in the camping-car for leverage.

Minutes passed and your hold loosened as your eyes wandered somewhere else. Up on the hill, Eddie was playing and chasing after Dustin, laughing as his long hair blew with the wind. He attempted to give the younger boy a wedgie, but Dustin swatted his hands off.

The corner of your lips twitched. It was the first time you had seen him smile these past three days.

''Y/N, can you stay still? It's slipping away-'' Nancy glanced up, her eyes following yours. She smiled sadly, recognizing the way you were looking at your ex. ''You still love him, don't you?''

You turned your attention back to her and played coy. ''What?''

''Eddie.''

You looked down. ''Am I that transparent?''

''I observe, that's all.'' Nancy paused, then mentioned the one you should be looking at. ''How are things with Steve?''

You tightened your hold on the shotgun and Nancy went back to sawing. ''Amazing,'' you said truthfully. ''I love Steve with all my heart, but...I miss Eddie.'' You shook your head, feeling selfish for thinking about your love-life when you're about to go to battle.

''Didn't you and Eddie fight all the time, though?''

Your and Eddie's relationship was a little rocky. You had contrasting personalities and would constantly butt heads. You had stopped counting how many times your nights ended up in screaming and fighting, how many times you left his trailer slamming the door behind or how many times you ended up crying yourself to sleep and cursing his name at 2am.

You missed it.

You missed those insane fights and kissing in the rain. You missed rolling joints on his bed and listening to him play guitar all night. You missed the teeth marks he'd leave on your inner thighs and how he'd put his wet finger in your ear knowing you hated it. You missed the roller coaster kind of rush Eddie made you feel. He was wild and crazy, and so frustrating. He was intoxicating, complicated...and you let him slip by mistake.

''I must be crazy for missing the complicated, messy relationship that I used to be in.''

Nancy shook her head. ''I don't think you're crazy. Not everyone wants the same thing in a relationship. Some people like to be comfortable and secure with their partner, but some others are built differently and need different things. Some people would rather have an unstable relationship with sparks flying than a secure relationship you'll get bored of.''

Hours later, after you had defeated Vecna - he didn't die, but you hurt him -, you all walked back to the gate. Robin had tried reaching Dustin and Eddie with the walkie, but they weren't answering.

''Everything okay?'' Steve asked, seeing your worried frown.

You shook your head. ''I have this gut feeling that something is off. That something terrible has happened.''

''Is this about the walkie?''

''Dustin always copies back.''

Steve slipped one of his arms around you and kissed your temple. ''I'm sure they're okay. Maybe it ran out of batteries.''

He pulled you against him and you nodded. ''It must be that.''

You wish it had been that. Alas, when you emerged from the forest, you caught two figures in the distance. You couldn't see too well with the dusk, but as you got closer you recognized one of them as Dustin.

What was he still doing on this side of the gate? He and Eddie had been instructed to go back through the gate after attracting the bats to the trailer.

You all picked up your pace and your heart stopped when you saw Eddie laying on the ground in front of Dustin. He was injured.

''Eddie!'' Your legs immediately started running, carrying you to him.

Standing a few feet away, you could now hear Dustin’s cries. Eddie’s lips were moving - you could see them. He was talking to Dustin.

You called his name again and that’s when you saw the blood. His Hellfire shirt was stained with red and ripped, just like his jeans. The bats. He had been attacked by the demo-bats.

‘’Eddie, stay with me,’’ you heard Dustin say. ‘’We’re gonna get you to the hospital, we-’’

Tears blurred your vision and you crumbled to the ground on your knees as soon as you reached them, carefully prying the injured man from Dustin’s grasp. You brushed his hair from his face, your eyes falling on the nasty bite on his neck and the blood rapidly coming out.

‘’Eddie. I’m here, my love.’’

Eddie’s eyes found yours and he smiled through the pain, blood staining his teeth.

‘’We’re gonna get you out of here, okay? We’re-’’

‘’No.’’ He coughed, blood getting in his throat. ‘’It’s okay.’’

‘’Eddie, no,’’ you cried. ‘’I’m not letting you die here.’’

Behind you, Steve, Nancy and Robin had caught up, their hearts sinking. Nancy was holding a crying Dustin, the latter needing someone's comforting arms. Steve watched you falling apart during your ex's last moments - his last breaths.

‘’I’m okay, sweetheart. I’m-’’ Eddie coughed, blood sputtering from his mouth. ‘’I'm in the arms of my first love. The first person I’ve ever loved. The person I’ll always love.’’

Steve knew it wasn't the time to be jealous - Eddie was dying -, but it still stung. Beside him, Robin reached for his hand in support, not really knowing what else to do.

‘’I-I love you,’’ he breathed out with difficulty.

You pressed your forehead against his, your fingers gripping the leather of Eddie’s jacket tightly as you felt him slipping and becoming heavier. ‘’I love you, Eddie Munson. I love you and I never stopped.’’

A last smile curled on his lips right before you saw his eyes becoming dull and empty. A sob left your lips and your tears began falling uncontrollably, holding Eddie's body.

Nancy rubbed Dustin's back as he clung onto her, his friend now gone. She wanted to hug you too, especially after that conversation you and her had before the battle, but Steve had stepped up, crouching down one the dirt-road and hugging your heartbroken figure, forgetting the pain in his own.

Backstory

Suki and Atsutsune were born in Kugane, but spent much of their childhood in Yanxia. Their parents wished to raise the twins humbly, as the Mihatas are an old, wealthy family with a lot of influence in Kugane. They're also part of a cult that sacrifices young women to keep their centuries-old cult leader immortal <3 (more about that coming in another post) When they became teenagers, the twins were brought back to Kugane to complete their upbringing: Atsutsune as a samurai and Suki as, uh...

When things inevitably got dicey, Atsutsune helped Suki escape Kugane and sent her on a ship to Limsa Lominsa, where she takes up with the Rogues' Guild. The rest, as they say, is history...

Personalities

Suki is a cool and calm woman of few words, which tends to be mistaken for sullenness and apathy. (Her unnerving lizard stare doesn't help.) She is deeply loyal to her loved ones and has a steadfast sense of justice. It's difficult to truly anger her, but annoying her is a surefire way to set her off. She also has an unexpected tendency for mischief, and loves being involved in plots ranging from messing with people to full-on sabotage.

Atsutsune is a gentle, shy soul who prefers the company of animals over most human beings (notable exceptions being his sister and the Scions). He's glad to be his sister's sidekick, preferring to help from the sidelines and take orders. Make no mistake, however, Atsutsune is a seasoned warrior and would take any measure to help and protect his twin.

Notable Relationships

Suki and Atsutsune: In stark contrast to Suki's beloved Leveilleur twins, Suki and Atsutsune are perfectly in sync at all times. Atsutsune can often predict what Suki will do next with perfect accuracy or what will set her off, and vice versa. Oftentimes, it feels like they are two halves of a whole person. Atsutsune tends to be the emotional center of the two: while Suki is often the "calm" one, she has difficulty processing her emotions, and Atsutsune is one of only two people in the world who can break down her walls and get her to talk about what she's going through.

Suki and Jacke Swallow: As her Rogue mentor, Jacke was Suki's first friend upon arriving in Eorzea and remains one of Suki's closest allies. The two are thick as thieves, keeping in constant contact and each calling upon the other for various romps and general mischief.

Suki and Haurchefant: Probably the closest thing to a romantic relationship Suki has ever been in. She trusted him completely, and was deeply grateful for his patience as she figured out her identity and orientation. Haurchefant was just as glad to be Suki's friend as he was to be her partner, and his death left a hole in her heart that may never fully heal.

Suki and Aymeric: Aymeric is the other person who can break down Suki's walls and get her to be vulnerable. She leaned on him a lot in the aftermath of Haurchefant's death, and House Borel is the closest thing Suki has to a home base. Although her feelings for him are completely platonic, if she ever did get married to anyone, it would be Aymeric.

Atsutsune and G'raha: Atsutsune and Suki didn't reunite until Stormblood, so Atsutsune never met G'raha during his Crystal Tower days. He met the Crystal Exarch when he was taken to the First during G'raha's WoL russian roulette, and landed shortly after the twins arrived. He spent the intervening year getting really into Amaro breeding in the Crystarium and finding excuses to learn more about the mysterious Exarch. Since Atsutsune is usually glued to his sister's side, he and G'raha spent a lot of time together during Shadowbringers and Endwalker, but neither of them have been brave enough to make a move—much to Suki's chagrin.

probably the thing I miss the most from the ancient world (greece specifically) is that people were allowed to have flaws, even, and at some times especially, the gods

look at percy jackson (the series): the main character's fatal flaws are stuff like loyalty, hubris, grudge holding, and the inability to be selfish - while holding dire potential, none of these are flaws that would ruin someone's day or make a person outright objectionable; those flaws are saved for the villains/antiheroes: excessive wrath, the need to be better than everyone (this is different than hubris - hubris is the feeling, this is more the action), the need to attain a goal at any cost

and this aligns a lot with the modern view of how people should act: we can make mistakes as long as they're hidden and they don't happen again, but really we should just avoid making mistakes and try to be a person the most people would like

but in ancient greece: the great heroes had some pretty bad fatal flaws that by modern standards would get them a lot of hate: major anger management issues, impulsiveness so bad it harmed others many times, hubris that far exceeded annabeth's (and that's another point), excessive pride (again, different from hubris, and the extent was far worse than any pjo characters), and anxiety (which is coming to be tolerated in the modern world, but back then was just a flaw for a hero)

while a lot of these are very close or even match those of the pjo characters, the ancient heroes were able to let their flaws get much farther than any pjo character. the ancient world saw character flaws as a problem, yes, but they also saw them as unavoidable and just something that needed to be controlled whereas the modern world sees character flaws as personal failures

and we do this so much with public and religious figures: the second we see something we don't like from those we already don't like, we attack, but we're so quick to defend those we do like even when their mistakes go beyond mistakes and start becoming actual problems that need to be addressed (cough gop cough) - and again, we do this with everyone: politicians, the religious people we believe in, celebrities, our friends, etc - when what we really should be doing is acknowledging that no one is perfect and perfection is an impossible, unattainable burden

and i cite the gods because the ancient greek gods messed up so damn much, and the greeks didn't deny that. that's why there were so many gods, so that the different ones could pick up slack. but now, people act like they have to hold themselves to the same standards as the monotheistic gods we have now that are often seen as perfect. (I won't get into this because it seems disrespectful to me but the main idea is that we're not gods, so even if you view your religious figures as flawless, you don't have to be)

sometimes this modern view is a good thing such as in the case of morals and ethics or when people need to be held accountable for their actions, but too often this new perspective just puts unnecessary stress on people already doing their best, and it opens up opportunities for the people who are actually problematic to makes others feel like shit, plus it pushes the idea that everyone should be the same when people use this view to push their agenda

besides, part of the point of allowing people to have fatal flaws is that they have people around them that will help them control their flaws so they don't get out of hand. we see in the case of theseus when he was with his parents or ariadne until he was with pirithous, a horrible influence, and percy and annabeth, who each remind each other when they're being too prideful or letting their loyalty get the best of them, and nico and will when will reminds nico to let bygones be bygones.

anyway all this to say, take care of yourself. you don't need to be perfect. you don't even need to always do your best, and it's ok to make mistakes. the things you see as personal flaws are what make you spicy.
