I'm not gonna indulge too much in my Undertale AU on Tumblr, I am gonna just keep it private as I do wanna keep my main focus on my FNAF AU, but here y'all go

It's a little rough, but people really liked my Mettaton AU design so I wanted to desperately draw him :')

It's not the best, but I wanted to draw something today.

#i spent all of today mucking around with my art fight #changing profile pics for characters and editing all 90+ of my attacks to have updated thumbnails #aswell as adding characters and such--- it was alot #so this was a nice random sketch i did just to wind down.#I also randomly painted an eyeball out of boredom so THAT'S something #but yeah i hope this is ok #its rough like i said but theres a charm to it.#a little about my AU mettaton as a treat:#he is heavily posessed. he ran away from alphys halfway built between ex and neo #and has to power himself by using his actual ghost alot of the time #he salvaged his charging supply (or batteries idk what makes him run)#but the body is insufficient with power so he has to rely on possession alot of the time especially #when the body ages.#his eyes flicker pink when hes posessed and his ghost self does make himself appear outside of the suit #but with his soul still bound to the body #he can only go so far before he cannot anymore. he is literally tied to his body now HSGSVSV #he also goes by Hapsta in my au. a play on Hapstablook and also to avoid toyhouse sniping me #tho you can call him mtt or mettaton anyways idm lol #mettaton #undertale #undertale au #undertale oc #mettaton au #my art #my oc art

Currently rewatching Treasure Planet for the nth time, animation and storytelling aren't what they used to be man

Not to mention the character design??? The antagonist isn't a bad person, the protagonist doesn't miraculously have the answer to everything, the most 'evil' character isn't the main villain, and the smart character isn't some cowardly introvert who can't stick up for himself. There is no romantic love-interest for the main character, the movie instead focuses 100% on Jim's development and the actual plot (asides from the barely mentioned Amelia x Dr. Doppler).

I doubt there will ever be a movie that ranks quite as high in my mind. Even if it's largely because of nostalgia, this will always be my favourite movie

Liu qingge is driving me crazy he shows up like three times he is not a fleshed out character he says five things he's canonically dumb as rocks "if you extend him a single share of kindness, he'll return it two-fold" he fights every day for five years to give someone funeral rites, someone he won't admit he even likes, he finds every single dropped fan, he has a sister so beautiful she has to hide her face, he is the strongest man alive, he has to die before the story even starts, he only thinks about fighting, he cannot understand subtlety, he despises underhandedness, he's wrong about his judgements and he never finds out, he doesn't know what feelings are so he drags dead monsters to the doorstep of a man who saved his life and then leaves again, he has never tasted defeat before until he faces it down every day for five years for a man who just comes back to life and then chooses someone else, UGH UGH UGH

finally finished the priory of the orange tree after putting it off for like a year, and putting aside the fact that it's insanely boring, way too long, and the romance is lackluster, it certainly was a choice to, in a book at least in part about finding common ground and coming together, basically go "religion a is correct and good and its believers can continue on their merry lives, but religion b is a 100% incorrect wrong bad lie founded by a wrong bad misogynistic lying liar, and everyone who believes in it should convert and in fact we're going to end the book by heavily implying that the recently-converted queen is going to slowly but surely pressure the entire country to convert because their faith is wrong and bad". like that was certainly a decision that samantha shannon made.

#idk i don't love an entire religion being painted as objectively inherently bad and wrong #especially since none of the six virtue's actual teachings are that bad like #and also esp since the only other thing we learn about galian berethnet is that he was fucking r/ped by his own mother #and was so distraught upon learning this that he killed himself #the fact that aside from that its just like 'he was a lying liar who lies and hated women' just didn't sit right with me...#the priory of the orange tree #priory of the orange tree #the roots of chaos #anti booktok #samantha shannon #like the entire time before this was revealed i was like #'ah its so obvious - both faiths are going to end up being a little bit wrong and a little bit right'#'of course it will be revealed that cleolind and galian actually worked together to defeat the nameless one'#'and learning this will really press into the characters that they themselves need to work together to defeat him again'#but instead like????#and like even with the kalyba stuff it would have been so easy you can say like:#cleolind and galian worked together but kalyba (canonically posessive and jealous and willing to do horrible things to keep galian w/ her)#uses her magic to make cleolind believe that galian betrayed her which she then goes and tells her priory #+ in an effort to keep as low a profile as possible for herself while disguised as cleolind she makes galian believe that he did everything #and when her disguise falls he's so distraught that he kills himself and so the only one who knows the truth is kalyba #who certainly has no motivation to reveal the truth
