"SL Ragnarok is a BL" just has to be one of the funniest things I've heard on a hanging threat like– mate I freaking wish but is there literally anyone out there in the SL world that wants Sung Suho as a partner?
Not a single girl with romantic interest has approached him in the span of 150+ chapters, it's definetly the same for boys.
Jin woo at least showed some attraction with JuHee and Cha at this point in the story, meanwhile the only thing on Suhos mind is killing.

EXCHANGE / JJK (2)
to give something and receive something of the same kind in return
Tumblr media
Note: First of all I want to thank everyone who took their time reading, liking, commenting and reblogging. You guys are always surprising me with your kindness and support. The second thing I want to talk to you about is how good our boys looked at the BBMA’s, like how are we supposed have a life of our own when they look like Gods.
Pairing: reader x Jungkook
Genre: romance, non idol AU
Warnings: none
Word count: 1835 words
PART 1 / / PART 3 / PART 4 / PART 5 / PART 6 / PART 7
Summary: Yes, you are an exchange student. You noticed EF also organized trips to Seoul and you wanted something different than the same five people in your hometown. You came to the beautiful city to learn and relax, most definitely not to fall in love with one of the teachers. Definitely not the young extracurricular teacher who seemed to be good at everything.
*Y/N = your name *Y/C = your city/country
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
It took you about one second after waking up to absolutely hate yourself because of the excruciation headache you were having. It took you a bit longer to find out where you were exactly. The familiar smell of filter coffee entered your nose and you dared to sit up. You realized you were in someone else’s sofa and this couldn’t be yours because you didn’t have one. The only thing you had was an annoying roommate who only wanted to study Korean, even though you wished you were a bit more like her at the moment. She probably didn’t have a throbbing head or a bad taste in her mouth. She probably woke up feeling very content and safe because she was in her own bed.
Out of the corner of your eye you could see the skilled hand of the coffee maker pour just the right amounts of everything into the cup.  He was wearing a black jogging with a tight black t-shirt, but he seemed to always look extremely fine in simple black outfits. It was a struggle to get out of your comfortable position but your stomach was making its characteristic whale noises and these were hard to ignore. With the blanket wrapped around your body you started your adventure toward the kitchen area where Jungkook was pouring a second cup of coffee.
“Good-morning sunshine.” He beamed while handing you your cup of deliciousness and you silently thanked him. Not sure of what to say you just stared at him, hoping he would speak first. It had the opposite effect really, he just kept his hands busy with making breakfast. Bacon was being grilled an eggs were cracked by his large hands and the only thing you could do was stare.
“I usually make a great hangover soup but I lacked most ingredients so I hope you like my hangover eggs.” He said while setting up two plates on his dining table. The bacon in the supermarket packages turned your stomach inside and out: the blood and the white fat that ran through it. You hated the look of it. Yet once cooked it got you under its bacon spell, perfectly crisp with an aroma that wouldn't let you step away, it was something to be devoured, nothing more.
You quickly took place and felt no need for pretentious manners as you stuffed your mouth full with eggs and bacon. Now it was his turn to stare but you tried to ignore his questioning eyes and kept your focus on the food in front of you. When your eyes lock over the breakfast table he started to eat. He ate rapidly, stuffing his mouth too full so he had to chew with his mouth wide open.
“Thank you.” It was silly but he stopped eating for a bit. He looked deep in thought about what to say or do but settled with simply nodding his head.
“I also want to say I’m sorry but my memory is lacking me and I can only imagine the worst.” To you it counted as an apology as you barely said the words out loud. The embarrassment started to creep in your system and the only thing you wanted to do was run. “I’ll get going now so you can get some well deserved rest after seeing whatever you saw last night. Again, thank you so much for-“ you gestured at the sofa and the food on the table “for all of this.”
“No problem at all. You’re definitely not a problematic drunk, only a forgetful one. Next time put your room number and passcode in your phone so you don’t get lost again.” His comforting words made you feel a bit more at ease but you could feel the heat growing in your cheeks. By now they must be beyond an attractive rosiness. You felt as if all your insecurities were written across your face and there was nowhere to hide.
“Thank you.” You thanked him again and practically ran out of his place with the blanket still wrapped tightly around your body.
**
It was midmorning and you still had a head that felt like an axe was planted in it. Your eyesight struggled to cope with the daylight and you fumbled tying the belt of your simple dress. With your brain still struggling to recover from the previous night's abuse, the only thing on your mind was trying to be on time for class. You grabbed some stuff and threw them in your bag hoping you had everything with you to make it through this day.
With sunglasses hiding your swollen eyes you entered the classroom and to your surprise you were one of the first to arrive. Alfie was sitting in the back with black sunglasses matching yours. You both laughed at the coincidence.
“We made it.” You simple stated before sitting next to him.
“Barely.” He grunted and planted his head on the desk.
“Nice sunglasses.” You complimented him and this got a little laugh out of him. Your short conversation was interrupted by the teacher entering the classroom. Half of you were still missing but he didn’t care and just started with whatever he wanted to start with today. If he had noticed yours and Alfie’s sunglasses he hid it well. The both of you tried to pay attention but you were more aware of the cracking of your head than anything else. The day slowly continued and when your class had finally ended you and Alfie decided to lay in the grass together.
“Maybe I should’ve just gone on a simple summer camp to France.” Alfie admitted while rubbing his eyes.
“But France is just France. We’re in Seoul, which is way cooler than France.” You tried to cheer him up but he was still struggling with his hangover which surprised you. You were feeling a lot better, just tired.
“Yes, but a summer camp doesn’t have obligatory lessons.” He grunted and you wanted to respond but Jungkook was quicker.
“You can also wait to start drinking after Friday classes and spend all of Saturday in your bed.” Jungkook laughed while positioning himself next to you on the warm grass. He had changed out of his black relaxing outfit into tight fitting blue jeans combined with a white shirt and he looked even more handsome in white.
“We made a mistake. Apparently Koreans are better drinkers than us Europeans.” Alfie patted my shoulder as if to symbolize our European bond or something. Jungkook’s eyes glared at Alfie’s hand but he didn’t seem to notice or maybe he did. Because he suddenly planted his head on my thigh and closed his eyes while humming some melody. A minute ago there was a huge bunny smile on Jungkook’s face but due to Alfie’s actions his smile had disappeared into a straight line.
“Y/N you still haven’t applied for any extra activities. If you need any help deciding, I’ll be at the front desk.” He excused himself and walked quietly away from us. You couldn’t help but stare at him while he was walking so carefully over the grass.
“He sure does take an interest in you.” Alfie commented with his head still resting on your leg.
“Oh shut up, it is his job to lure people into paying activities.” You muttered.
“All I’m saying is that he hasn’t willingly spoken to anyone off our class outside you.” He finally opened his eyes and tried to study your reaction. You tried to ignore the weird morning you had with Jungkook and how he had cared for you and your hangover.
“Because most girls go and talk to him first. They don’t give him a chance to go and talk to them.” You glared at Alfie while pushing him off your leg. “Now, if you would excuse me, I have to apply to some extra activities you have already applied too. I can not let you go alone on a hike, right? Who would catch you?” and with these final words you walked away from a laughing Alfie rolling in the grass.
He sure was a special character. He didn’t seem to care what people thought of him. He didn’t even seem to care what he thought of himself. He just existed to have fun, have drinks and learn a few things along the way. It was a simple life, or that’s what he liked people to believe. We tend to live in stories of our own creation and without realizing we’re just following a script we made for ourselves. Alfie was just following his own I-wanna-be-cool script and somehow he fooled most people, including you for a second.
“Please be safe.” He yelled once you were almost out of sight. All eyes were on you and for the trillionth time since you were in Seoul, your cheeks turned into the reddest of blushes. You silently cursed Alfie under your breath and hurried inside the building.
**
You were kind of disappointed when you didn’t see Jungkook at the information desk but the lovely Jenna, Australian born and married to a Korean businessman, was also lovely. She chatted about her wonderful life but also didn’t forget to ask you some questions. Where you were from, what motivated you and whatever she could think of. She was a huge help and thanks to her you had signed up for half of the activities, almost filling up your whole schedule. You still had a few free nights that you intended to spend roaming through the city alone. Nothing was better than going on an adventure by yourself after a glass of wine, or two.
Speaking of alcohol, your hangover was almost completely gone. The only thing remaining was the constant graving for greasy food and stuffing your face to satisfy your belly who had worked so hard getting rid of the strong liquor. Right on cue your stomach started to make some loud noises making people turn their heads in your direction.
“Are you hungry?” A voice behind you asked, startling you. It was Jungkook. Again. He seemed to always know where you were when something embarrassing was about to happen. A sixth sense leading him to you and your blushing cheeks.
“Can you please not-“ you tried to come up with the correct words “-scare me.” You finished satisfied. He did always surprise you and therefor scare you.
“Let’s have dinner together. My way of apologizing for scaring you earlier.” He said it so quickly you had to blink a couple of times before fully registering his words. Even he seemed surprised by his straightforwardness and doubt started to color his face.
“I mean, you don’t need to feel obligated or anything.” His hand found its way through his hair and for a second there you were mesmerized by his actions.
“I’m starving.” Was the only thing you could say but this was enough to replace his doubt for excitement.

PSA: on hating Wanna One
If you hate, dislike, or harbor any negative feeling whatsoever regarding Wanna One, I strongly encourage you to read this post.
The way we learn is not through affirming our mentalities and ideas, but instead by questioning and listening to other opinions.
As someone who is strongly multi-fandom, I’m going to keep this as unbiased as possible here. The group doesn’t have much time left, so I’d say give this a go. It won’t take long to read.
(@ wannables: please rt so we can spread the word! this is honestly the best time to be a multifandom wannable because we have so many interactions rn!! and if you’re a wannable that hates other groups, you better read this too)
Tumblr media
Lately we’ve been seeing a lot of interactions between Wanna One and other (especially male) idol groups.
So, a lot of us Wannables have become increasingly multi-fandom (more than we were already: nobody begins their run with kpop with a survival show) - but, alas, we have found that a LOT of people from international k-pop fandoms, for some unknown reason, hate Wanna One with a burning passion.
For the relatively small international fandom, the amount of international hate towards Wanna One is overwhelming and hard to deal with.
So, without further ado, let me clear up some of the misconceptions you may have about the group!
Wanna One is friends with or looks up to the GROUPS YOU STAN.
tl;dr they friendly. Wannables know this, so a lot of us are multifandom - after all, not many people got into kpop BECAUSE of Produce 101. A lot of us have been around for a while and stan other groups.
Kang Daniel: Friends with Woozi (SEVENTEEN), Suga (BTS), Zico, Xiumin (EXO), Chanyeol (EXO), Mark (NCT) and many more - let’s be real Kang Daniel can be friends with whoever he wants, role model is Kai (EXO), TWICE Fanboy
Ha Sungwoon: Friends for years with Jimin (BTS), Taemin (SHINee), Kai (EXO) and also many more
Park Jihoon: Is literally in love with V (BTS), has said multiple times he looks up to V and pursued K-Pop because of him, in a gaming group with Jin (BTS), Eunkwang (BtoB), Youngjae (B.A.P), Ken (VIXX) - seen eating out together
Lee Daehwi: BFFs with Somi (Produce 101, JYP Sixteen - the show that formed Twice), remixed Got7 Hard Carry for produce 101 audition, Heize fangirls over him, friends with Bang Chan (Stray Kids), TWICE Fanboy
Ong Seongwoo: Friends with Mark (NCT), Kwangjin (N.Flying), Mina (gugudan), Namjoo (APink), role model is Kai (EXO), worked with Heize
Hwang Minhyun: caught fanboying over Red Velvet on insta, got acknowledged by NELL
Lai Guanlin: friends with Sehun (EXO), is in love with Wooseok (Pentagon), fanboyed over him in front of HyunA herself
Bae Jinyoung: EXO Fanboy, Sehun Fanboy
Park Woojin: Zico Fanboy, knows Zico irl now
Yoon Jisung: probably has friends but he won’t tell us, acknowledged by NELL
Kim Jaehwan: Embarrassed himself in front of Zico
Why do international fans hate Wanna One?
tl;dr Essentially, Wanna One is really popular in Korea - and not internationally - so the international fans hate them, pretty much because they’re successful. Large biased, sh*t reporting media sites like Allkpop and Netizenbuzz recognize this, and spew out bad articles on them with wrong translations and incorrect info because it gets them attention
Produce 101 season 2, the group that formed Wanna One, was hugely popular in Korea, not so much internationally. A large part of this may be because international fans couldn’t vote in the show
After produce 101 finished airing, it was obvious Wanna One would be popular in Korea. However, a lot of international fans didn’t know about this
So, when Wanna One debuted, their popularity was obviously very high. They began playing with the best, with groups that had been around for years
This resulted in the Wanna One members being called ungrateful, achieving fame “too fast”, even though it’s just a different means of getting there.
All of these boys weren’t just lucky. They worked extremely hard in their own way to get to this point, and they are aware that the group isn’t permanent. They know that it’s not going to all be smooth sailing from here - they’ve written songs on the impermanence of this feeling (see: hourglass, forever+1, always, I promise you, hell they have an album called “nothing without you”)
Sungwoon, Minhyun - both in “unsuccessful” groups for years before (Hotshot, Nu’est), had to strip off their “idol” image and perform as “trainees”
Daniel, Jisung - trainees for years under an unknown entertainment label (MMO) that likely wouldn’t have debuted them but instead used them for backup dancers (Daniel was actually going to leave to live in Canada - pd101 was his last resort, Jisung would have had to go to the military)
Jihoon, Jinyoung - have you ever heard of maroo or c9 entertainment? Likely would have debuted into a no name group
Daehwi, Woojin - Daehwi has already gotten so much hate from the start of the show even though he’s already 16, yet remained positive. Woojin rose from the 70s rank up until 6 through hard work alone.
Guanlin - moved from Taiwan by himself at 16 without knowing Korean to pursue his dream, is always showing thanks to fans, trying to speak in both English and Taiwanese as well
Jaehwan - won an entire TV show but nobody paid attention to him. Busked on the streets.
Seongwoo - nobody can deny that he is always thinks of the fans. writes his own freaking poetry for us
All of them always express their thanks to the fans, and even the man of the year, Kang Daniel, is commonly reported by outside sources (producers, tv show directors, other idols, etc) as simple - friendly and humble. Even though he’s always tired and in the public’s eye, he is one of the most active members on fancafe, even tries to respond to foreign fans in English
Haven’t they been involved with a lot of controversies?
tl;dr They’ve all been refuted. This is an unusual situation that happens when a group is popular, and the international fandom isn’t big enough to fight it.
Sites like Allkpop and Netizenbuzz just add fuel to the fire, releasing articles on untrue information, and then not releasing articles quickly or at all on clarifications
Also YMC/Swing sucks and doesn’t protect the boys (literally and figuratively) or the fandom. Instead of explaining situations or taking legal actions, they will either use the boys as a shield for their own mistakes, or force the boys to apologize for things they didn’t do.
Wannables in their natural habitat are fighting YMC (and now Swing entertainment) for something or the other. Right now the big deal is that Swing has banned fansites from taking pictures and Wannables are irate af lemme tell u
They’re not talented.
untrue
produce 101 was a show that if a mistake was made (all live btw), mnet would repeat the same clip 11 times with different angles and reactions
and wanna one is who we are left with. so make what you want of that
(lots of live performances to go around also)
I just don’t like their music.
Not a reason to hate a group.
Their music is pretty much generic K-pop. If you like K-pop, chances are you’ll like their music
Also, for their recent comeback they’ve worked with really incredible artists (Zico, Heize, NELL, Dynamic Duo). Try one of those
If you like kHipHop/kR&B
Kangaroo (prod. Zico)
Hourglass (prod. Heize)
11 (prod. Dynamic Duo)
If you like ballads/sad sh*t
Forever+1 (prod. NELL)
Always
I Promise You (confession version)
Beautiful
I wanna have (this is the GOAT)
If you like k-pop
Energetic (prod. Hui of Pentagon)
Light
Boomerang (okay we don’t really talk about this one tho)
Wannables are a toxic fandom.
This is something that gets thrown around a LOT. But in reality, most wannables are very multi-fandom. I will repeat it for a third time: nobody starts liking K-Pop because of a survival show, especially internationally. A lot of us are fans of other groups, so it sucks when our other home fandoms reject us.
The international Wannable community is extremely small (case in point: the company reducing the concert venue sizes by thousands in the US due to tickets not selling). This means our influence is also very small. It’s very unlikely that you have experienced such toxicity from a true Wannable.
On the topic of akgaes: look we don’t like them either, but even though the show was based on voting for your fave, most Wannables aren’t hating on the groupmates and literal friends of their biases. You could help us get rid of this image by promoting ot11!
KWannables are commonly seen supporting other groups, because they are very well aware of the fact that Wanna One is friends with/looks up to/likes other kpop groups.
They don’t want the group to disband. Of course, there’s a part of every Wannable that dreads that day. But, most of us understand that there’s more waiting for them, and we’ll continue to support in the future!
There’s more to say. But life and Wanna One’s run are both too short to spend hating a group of sweet, talented boys. There’s so much toxicity in K-pop. Imagine how your bias would feel if they knew you were attacking their friends or people that look up to them.
Let’s spread positivity, not all this hate.

Bts reaction: How you met (non-idol version)
Kim Seokjin (Jin)
It was an icy winter morning and Seokjin was stuck at the grocery store, looking for the ingredients to his mom’s favourite recipe. It was his mom’s birthday and he had invited his parents over for dinner. As he was heading towards his car, he saw a young woman struggling to carry her numerous grocery bags in her hands.
You had decided to go to the grocery store without your car, thinking the fresh air would do you good. However, you soon realized how much of a mistake that was, as the freezing wind hit your uncovered cheeks, sending chills through your whole body. Being already near the grocery store, you ignored the shivers going down your spine and continued making your way to the large building. You gradually warmed up once inside, but the low temperature hit you even harder once you got out. You also realized you’d clearly never be able to carry all of these bags by yourself, but you despised asking for help, so you forced yourself out of the store, back in the cold.
You were halfway through the parking lot when you heard a sweet voice calling, “Miss! Miss!” After taking a glance at your surroundings and not seeing anyone else near, you assumed you were the one being called. Of course, no one else would have been stupid enough to come here without their car at such a temperature. You turned around and noticed a tall man walking towards you, a single grocery bag in his hand. Once he caught up to you, seeing the questioning look on your face, he stated, “You shouldn’t carry this much in your hands, let me help you. I’ll carry these bags to your car. Where’s your car?” You smiled shyly, looking at the ground, knowing he would probably think you were out of your mind once hearing your answer. As soon as you answered, the man nodded and replied, “Oh well then I’ll carry these bags to my car and I’ll drive you wherever you need to go.” You couldn’t accept this offer and let a complete stranger waste his time because of your own bad decision. “No, thanks, I’m fine! No need to waste your time for me. I’ll take this as a lesson to use my car next time,” you answered. You obviously didn’t know Seokjin. His helpful nature made it impossible for him not to help someone every time he had the opportunity to do so. He insisted so much that you somehow felt embarrassed declining his offer once again and you had no other choice than to accept his help. You sat in his car after dropping all the bags in the backseat.
The ride was done in a comfortable silence, only being broken when he asked you where you lived. As you watched the landscape pass by, you slowly started drifting off into a peaceful slumber without even realizing it, your body being exhausted from trying to keep you warm the whole time you spent outside. Seokjin smiled softly, realizing his passenger was asleep and turned off the music that was playing to allow you to continue sleeping until you got home. He followed the instructions his phone’s GPS gave him and eventually pulled up in the parking lot of your apartment building.
You woke up by a strong arm gently shaking your shoulder and it took a few seconds for you to remember everything that had happened previously and to understand why a stranger was shaking you awake. Once you realized you had actually fallen asleep in Seokjin‘s car, you instantly began to panic, feeling extremely embarrassed for having fallen asleep in the nice stranger’s car, letting him drive you home without any help. You feared him thinking you were impolite and quickly started apologizing, to which he laughed a little, replying, “Don’t get so worked up, I understood you maybe lacked of sleep, so I purposely let you sleep. If you fell asleep, you probably had a good reason to and it didn’t bother me at all. Come on, now we have to bring your grocery bags up to your apartment.” You insisted in saying you could carry them by yourself and that he had already done enough for you, but he disagreed, already holding three bags in his hands.
Once the two of you were done brining all the bags into your apartment, you thanked him and commented, “You’ve helped me out today. I wanna repay you, but I don’t know how...” Seokjin smiled widely, responding, “It was my pleasure. No need to repay me, I simply wanted to help. Now I have to leave, but maybe we’ll see each other again soon, since I don’t live that far from here! Have a nice day!” He didn’t let you contest his answer and immediately headed out the door. As he was walking down the stairs, you suddenly realized you had forgotten to ask for his name. You ran out of your apartment and questioned a little too loudly, “Hey! I forgot to ask you: what’s your name?” He looked back at you and replied, “Kim Seokjin. How about you?” “Y/n Y/l/n.”
Tumblr media
Min Yoongi (Suga)
When moving to Seoul, you had a hard time making friends. Everything was so different from your home country. You weren’t that much of a sociable person to begin with, but the fact that you didn’t speak much Korean made it even harder for you to meet new people. When you finally made friends with someone, it felt like a relief. That girl was sweet and completely open-minded, which made it easier for you to communicate with her. However, she was way more athletic than you were and often dragged you along with her on her sports activities.
That was why you were now out in Seoul, in a neighbourhood you barely knew, running shoes tied to your feet. Your friend had decided to bring you jogging with her, in an attempt to get you to exercise. You had been running for a few minutes, when you both came across a pretty steep hill. You were halfway down the hill when your right foot caught onto something and twisted, making you trip in the process.
Your friend turned around and saw you lying on the ground, a dumbfounded expression on your face. She quickly ran to you and held out her hand to help you up. “You okay?” your friend questioned, concern written all over her face. You thought you were doing fine, until you applied weight on your right foot. As soon as you stepped on it, you felt a stabbing pain run through your ankle and couldn’t help but wince at the uncomfortable sensation. However, you did not like asking for help and having people babying you, so you took a deep breath, before claiming in a not-so-convincing tone, “Yeah, I’m totally fine. Just a little shaken up, that’s all...” “Are you sure?” she asked, clearly not convinced by the look on your face. You faked a smile, responding in a tone you hoped was more convincing, “Don’t worry, it’s nothing!” she shrugs, not asking further questions. You carry on with your jogging session, ignoring your ankle’s pleas for you to stop.
As you came back to the spot where you had initially met up about thirty minutes ago, you couldn’t run anymore. You passed it off as exhaustion, so your friend wouldn’t worry about your ankle’s state. You were far from being fine, but you were way too stubborn to admit it out loud. You had to go back to your apartment by foot, seeing as you didn’t have a car yet, but you convinced your friend you could walk just fine.
As soon as you and your friend parted ways, you began heading back towards your apartment, silently cursing yourself every time you stepped on your right foot. Why did you have to be so stubborn not to accept your friend’s help? You apartment seemed so far and you wondered if you’d ever make it home alive. You had already been walking for twenty minutes and you hadn’t even reached a quarter of your path yet. You could feel your ankle’s state deteriorating, but there was nothing you could do about it... or so you thought.
Yoongi was walking back from the restaurant to his studio, when he noticed the girl in front of him seeming hurt, walking weirdly. He mentally debated wether to help her or not for about two minutes, before deciding his work could wait.
“Hey, miss... Are you alright?” you heard a soft voice ask from behind you, then felt a light tapping on your shoulder. You turned around, confused and annoyed due to your ankle aching so badly. “I... You uhhh... Just seemed to be hurting from your foot,” explained the cute young man now standing in front of you. You shrugged, pretending it wasn’t nearly as bad as it truly was, but the stranger knew something was off and insisted, “Let me at least take you to the hospital. It’s not too far away from here.” You quickly disagreed, not wanting to be a burden to him, but he kept insisting your ankle seemed abnormally swollen. You finally gave up, letting him guide you towards the nearest hospital. “Lean on me, it’ll be easier for you to walk that way,” the man noted and you followed his order, gladly allowing him to support you, alleviating the pressure on your foot. On your way to the hospital, you explained the nice man what had happened and he carefully listened to your every words, while supporting you as you walked.
You got to the hospital in no time and the man who introduced himself as Min Yoongi waited next to you the whole time, even following you when the doctor called out your name. After running a few physical tests, the doctor determined you had sprained your ankle. He advised you on what and what not to do, then handed you a pair of clutches and a few papers with directions.
Yoongi insisted on following you back home and you didn’t have the strength to argue, glad you had someone to walk you back home. You feared getting lost if you ever tried finding your way back by yourself. You didn’t think you’d have survived if you got lost, all the while being injured. You both discussed the whole way back, this time under a less tensed atmosphere, the urgency of the situation slowly fading away after having been treated by a doctor. You learned that Yoongi was a musician, which made him a hundred times more interesting to you. He informed you about his job, while you spoke about your recent arrival in Seoul.
Once you got home, Yoongi asked you to hand him your phone, claiming he’d add his number to your list of contacts, in case you needed anything. “Don’t feel bad for calling me whenever you might need something. It might be useful when you barely know anyone here,” he remarked, shooting you a faint smile. You immediately agreed, handing him the electronic device you held in your hand at that moment.
As he was focusing on your phone, you analyzed his features. He had tiny downturned eyes, a small delicate nose, soft pouty lips and clear pale skin. His dark hair seemed fluffy and you wished you could’ve ran your hand through his locks. Throughout the whole time you had spent by his side, you hadn’t had time to correctly and worthily observe him, seeing as you were in such a panic state, but now that you could actually take a glance at him, you realized you should’ve done it sooner. He was truly gorgeous, but you knew you couldn’t look at him for way longer, since he was about to leave.
After having made sure you got inside your apartment safe, Yoongi waved you goodbye, reminding you to call him if you ever needed anything, be it some help, a friend, an ear to listen to your problems or some company. You thanked him, but you doubted he heard you, being already halfway down the staircase. You were tempted to request him to come back, feeling more lonely than ever, but you restrained yourself, knowing he had done more than enough for you throughout the day. It would have to wait, at least for a while. You’d eventually have to pay him back, wether he liked it or not.

Jung Hoseok (J-Hope)
You had decided to register to some dance class in a studio that was apparently quite renowned and you felt a little nervous, since it was your first class ever in this particular studio. Do people already know each other? Are they friendly? Will everyone be better than me? Are the choreographies difficult? Will I be able to catch up to the others? You had so many questions racing through your head as you entered the modern building, but you decided to ignore them, focusing on the music that was playing in your headphones. You asked the lady at the front desk for directions and quickly headed towards the changing room to get ready.
Hoseok had been looking for a job for quite a while, so he happily agreed when his dance teacher offered him to give classes in order to earn some money. It was an offer Hoseok couldn’t have refused: he would make money while doing something he loves. He was one of the best dancers at the studio, so it was no surprise that his teacher had offered him the job. His teacher also knew about his ease to communicate with people and to bring them together, and decided Hoseok was the perfect candidate for the job.
After contemplating your life choices for fifteen minutes in the locker room, you realized the class was about to start and quickly headed towards the practice room. You entered the mirror-filled room and took place at the back, where no one could see you if you ever embarrassed yourself.
The teacher entered the room less than two minutes later, a bright smile on his face. He looked about your age and you had to admit he was quite good-looking, with his dark brown hair, his well-defined facial traits, his lively brown eyes and his heart-shaped smile. The both of you maintained a brief eye contact, before looking away, as if nothing had just happened. The young man introduced himself as Jung Hoseok, but stated that people usually call him Hobi.
You were delighted by your dance teacher’s music choices, letting yourself move freely, in complete sync with the rhythm. You truly were enjoying yourself after all, way more than you had expected, which is why you didn’t notice the constant glances Hoseok shot you.
Working with his students on a difficult move, Hoseok quickly noticed how you had already mastered it. He couldn’t help but stare at you, mesmerized by the way you swayed your hips and smoothly executed the steps one right after the other. You were doing exactly what he had been so desperately trying to explain to the other students for the past ten minutes, so he decided to call you out, asking you to come in front of the class and perform the move for everyone else to see.
You were a blushing mess, absolutely confused as to why your dance teacher was preaching you so much. You thought you were doing fine, but didn’t expect to perform so well Hoseok shows you as an example.
You followed his orders and walked towards the front of the room, avoiding his eyes. “What’s your name?” you heard Hoseok question. You answered and he smiled fondly, commenting, “A beautiful name for such a talented dancer...” You were so embarrassed you could’ve sworn your cheeks were as red as a freshly picked tomato. You weren’t used to this kind of attention back where you lived, but since your arrival in Korea, people could tell you weren’t from there and this made you a hundred times more interesting to the eyes of locals. This is actually what had attracted Hoseok to you since entering the practice room, although he hadn’t mentioned it. You rapidly thanked him, before executing the steps. People applauded you once you were done, adding to your current embarrassment.
You quickly made your way back to your initial spot, trying not to get noticed once again, dancing more discretely until the end of the class.
As you were about to step out of the room, you felt a tap on your shoulder. You turned around, facing Hoseok, who still had a smile glued to his face, despite having danced nonstop for an hour or so. He questioned you about your home country, intrigued in learning more about your differences. You eventually had to admit that behind that charming, bright personality, Hoseok was really friendly and knew how to make you feel at ease after all. Suddenly, he interrupts you to ask :
“Do you want to carry on with this conversation somewhere else?”
“Yeah, why not... But I don’t know the area quite well.”
“Don’t worry, I know a nice café only five minutes away from here.”
And so, the two of you walked towards the coffee shop, never once giving way to silence. The drinks were delectable and your conversations were interesting, and the afternoon went by smoothly, although you were nervous to hang out with your dance teacher at first. Signing up to this dance studio maybe wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

Kim Namjoon (RM)
You had decided to go to the library near your apartment, in search of an interesting book to read in your free times. You had never seen the building, but luckily spotted the big sign on which it was written “도서관” (library). You sighed, entering the relatively big, modern building. You were pleasantly surprised when you saw the inside: tall windows covered most of the walls, tall wooden shelves full of books were perfectly lined in front of you, there were a few tables and cushioned seats placed in small groups and potted plants decorated the room, giving off a soft, vintage and natural vibe to it.
You wandered through the library for god knows how long, unsure of which books to choose. A particular book cover caught your attention, so you grabbed it and went to sit down on a cushioned seat, finally being able to drop off all of your books on the table in front of you. You had chosen books written in korean, knowing you needed to improve your skills in that language, not only orally, but also in your writing, considering you were now living in Korea. You started off with the book with the interesting cover.
As soon as you realized there was a counter where they sold coffee and other beverages of that kind, you immediately abandoned your book, quickly heading to the counter to buy yourself something. You returned to your seat right after, sipping on your drink while reading your book. At that moment, you couldn’t have been more comfortable, fully enjoying that relaxing time all by yourself.
You were so absorbed in your reading you didn’t notice the young man taking a seat right next to you. “That’s a really good book,” you heard an unknown voice comment from your right. You snapped out of your trance, jumping slightly in surprise. You turned to take a look at whoever had addressed you and saw a young adult with dark hair, soft eyes, tanned skin and a dimpled smile staring at you, waiting for you to answer. You quickly regained your composure, smiling back at him and answering, “Yeah... You think so?” He nodded wisely, before adding, “Of course. It’s a classic here. I’ve actually read it more than once. You’re not from here, are you?” You shook your head no, then informed him about your home country.
He carried on asking you questions and you sworn you had never seen someone so genuinely interested in getting to know you. You spent some time discussing about your most recent literary finds, debating on which book was the best. Soon enough, you had emptied your drink and desired having some more. You got up to get a drink after advising the man you now knew as Kim Namjoon, before realizing how impolite it was not to offer him one. He kept declining your offer, claiming he didn’t have much money with him, but you were determined to instead buy him one yourself, without him having to pay you back. He eventually had to give in, soon realizing you wouldn’t.
As you were back in your comfortable seats, he kept insisting on paying you back for your kind gesture. After a few minutes of Namjoon desperately trying to convince you, you found yourself having no other choice but to agree to his offer. You questioned him about how he would pay you back, but he simply shrugged, claiming it was a surprise.
You were intrigued, but knew asking questions would bring you nowhere. He simply gave you his phone for you to type in your number, so he could keep contact with you after leaving the library. However, it wasn’t time to leave yet, so you resumed your conversation where you had left it before going to buy beverages. You learned a lot about this total stranger throughout the afternoon and you enjoyed spending some time with him. Namjoon was a really wise, logical and eloquent person, which made you full of admiration for him. He also seemed really ambitious, rambling on about his achievements and dreams.
You were both so deep into your conversation you stayed in the library until the sun had completely set and it was time for the library to close for the night, never having noticed once the passing time. You didn’t know you could carry conversations with someone for so long and you quite enjoyed it. Hopefully, you would meet again soon, keeping in mind Namjoon’s promise to pay you back.
Your new friend insisted on walking you back home, since it was pretty dark outside. You declined his offer, but he once again insisted so much you had to accept. “What kind of person would I be if I let you walk back home all by yourself, in the dark?” commented Namjoon. You chuckled, shaking your head as you both made your way back to your apartment. Once he made sure you had gotten home safe, you exchanged your goodbyes, promising to meet up again as soon as possible.

Park Jimin (Jimin)
You were out with a friend of yours, enjoying your day off from school, treating yourselves with a pleasant ‘girls’ day out’. You didn’t have an exact plan in mind, so you simply visited your favourite shops and places, not looking for anything particular. However, you still had precise plans for the night : staying in your shared apartment, eating takeout, lounging on the couches and watching your favourite series. In short, you were planning to do absolutely nothing, being way too physically and mentally drained from school to find the energy to accomplish anything else.
You began your day in a clothing shop, trying on both the most beautiful and the most ridiculous outfits you could find, giving each other advice on what to buy. You didn’t have much money with you, but you were still determined to buy something cute for yourself. After all, you deserve to treat yourself once in a while for working so hard, don’t you?
As you roamed around the shop in search of the perfect garment, your eyes met those of a male, about your age, who immediately looked away, giggling in embarrassment. His smile was the cutest you had ever seen, his full, pouty lips turning upwards, his puffy cheeks hiding his eyes in the process, making them seem as if they were smiling too.
You ignored the poor boy, heading back to the changing room, having completely forgotten about your previous mission, which was to find the perfect piece of clothing. You realized your hands were empty, as the lady managing the changing rooms shot you a weird look.
Jimin had come to shop with his best friend Taehyung. After your awkward eye contact, he turned around, hiding his face in his friend’s back in embarrassment, making him turn around in surprise. “Oh my god! I’m so stupid! I was staring at a cute girl in the shop and she turned around and we had an eye contact and I just looked away and laughed like an idiot! Why do I always make the worst first impressions with cute girls?!” Jimin whined. Taehyung chuckled in amusement and replied, “Because you have somewhat no social skills...” Jimin jokingly punched his friend’s shoulder, reminding him in his defence about how he had chickened out while asking a girl out once.
You continued your shopping round after having found what you were looking for. You decided out of the blue to go and watch a movie. As you were waiting in line, you spotted the guy from the first shop, discussing with someone you assumed was his friend. You tapped your friend on her shoulder, trying to discretely point at the young man, explaining her your first encounter in the clothing shop. She laughed and commented, “Well... He’s good looking. You have great taste in men!” You rolled your eyes, pretending you hadn’t heard her last sentence.
Once the movie was over, you were both hungry and decided to find a small restaurant where you could stop and take a bite. You were eyeing the menu, discussing with your friend before choosing what to eat when Jimin and Taehyung entered the exact same restaurant you were in. You lifted your eyes from the menu and noticed the two boys sitting down at a table a little further from yours. You would’ve sworn they were following you, considering you had encountered them on three different occasions throughout the day. Your friend caught you looking through the restaurant and followed your glance, immediately spotting the two boys. She chuckled slightly, pointing out how you had been staring at the young man every time your eyes came across him. You denied it, simply stating you thought it seemed suspicious that you had encountered them three times in a row. She agreed with you, but still insisted that you kept your eyes on him a little too long for you not to be interested in him. You had to admit the boy was quite handsome, but it didn’t mean anything.
As you were eating your meal, you couldn’t help but look in the direction of the young man, catching him glancing at you every time you did. You would both look away, a little embarrassed. You tried being subtle, but your friend had noticed for a while, simply abstaining herself from commenting.
You were about to leave, when you felt someone tapping at your shoulder. You turned around and noticed the shy boy’s friend standing behind you, a smirk on his face. He was handsome, with dark brown hair, deep eyes and perfectly defined eyebrows. He answered your questioning look, stating, while motioning to his friend, “My friend over there wanted to know if he could have your number. He’s too shy to ask.” You turned to look at his friend, seeing him hiding his face in his hands, the visible part of his cheeks being a bright tint of pink. You shyly nodded, taking the phone the man was handing you in your own hands, typing in your number, your hands shaking out of nervousness. The guy thanked you and returned to his friend, a look of victory imprinted on his face. “You’re blushing hard,” your friend declared in a teasing tone of voice. You quickly defended yourself, claiming you weren’t blushing and that it was probably the lighting giving off that feeling. You weren’t convincing in the slightest, but you hoped your friend would leave you alone, which she thankfully did.
You left the restaurant, heading back to your apartment to continue your day together, accordingly to your plans. However, for the rest of the night you couldn’t entirely focus on your activities, constantly reflecting about your special encounter, so much it kept you awake at night.

Kim Taehyung (V)
You had recently moved to Korea and seeing all these glamorous clothing stores gave you an urge to start your wardrobe all over again. You sometimes made a quick stop in some of the appealing stores in your neighbourhood, but you hadn’t had time yet to spend a good amount of time in each of them. When you were finally done with all the moving procedures, you used your last day off before the beginning of the school year to explore the city of Seoul and all its eccentric, fashion-forward shops.
You were an exchange student in Korea and although you were only supposed to live there until the end of your school year, you had planned on establishing yourself there afterwards. You were currently living in a dorm on the campus of your University and had already made friends with your roommate, with who you hung out during your free times since your arrival.
Your roommate had decided to accompany you in your shopping spree, so you could give each other advices on what to buy and what not to buy. You headed out of the dorm, sporting your not-so-fashionable sweatpants and a hoodie you didn’t quite remember when was the last time it had actually been washed. You couldn’t care less, considering you didn’t know anyone yet, so the chances of you coming face to face with an acquaintance were very slim, almost non-existent.
With your new friend, you stopped by the first aesthetic-looking shop you encountered, a feeling of excitement taking over your body at the thought of having a new wardrobe, full of stylish, trendy outfits you could wear. You had always been attracted to Korean street fashion, admiring the fashionable outfits on social medias, but it was no longer out of reach for you.
You began roaming through the different sections of the boutique, in search of lovely clothes you could try on. You joined your friend at the changing rooms and you both started matching pieces of clothing together, trying to create the perfect outfit, before showing the other, who would give you feedback and tips.
After taking a few heart-breaking decisions about which clothes to choose, which clothes to abandon, you both leave the store, feeling content with your finds. You quickly spot another shop, this time looking more on the elegant side. You repeat the same plan you had used in the previous shop, slowly walking around the store. However, this time, you roommate spots some of her friends right outside the boutique, quickly running out to catch up to them, leaving you all by yourself in a store you don’t know, surrounded by people who speak a language you haven’t quite mastered yet.
You tried not to let your anxiety take over you, but you couldn’t help but feel small and helpless in such a situation. You hadn’t realized you had been staring at the same garment for a good five minutes, lost in your thoughts. “That’s a good choice,” affirmed a deep, masculine voice coming from right beside you. Startled by the sudden noise and the proximity of it, you turn around way too quickly. The voice came from a tall, handsome young man with soft-looking brown hair, deep, sensitive eyes, well-defined eyebrows and a friendly smile dancing on his lips. “W-What?” you manage to get out, still a little frightened. “I said it was a good choice. The shirt you have in your hands,” replied the man, motioning at the piece of fabric in your hands. You finally came back to your senses, muttering a confused “Oh... Yeah... Right...” The guy in front of you chuckled slightly at your confusion, declaring, “I’m Kim Taehyung. Nice to meet you! Where are you from?”
You answered him, before he commented, pointing at one of your pieces of clothing, “You’re not actually gonna buy this, are you?” You frowned in uncertainty, questioning, “Yeah, I am. Why are you asking this?” He laughed and retorted, “Well, I’m sorry but it’s absolutely hideous!” Slightly offended by the blunt comment, you note, “What do you know about fashion? Have you seen your shirt?” “That’s a fashion item. If you knew anything about fashion you’d know this. I know something about fashion, I’m an art student,” he responds in a cocky tone. You snap back, declaring, “Being an art student doesn’t mean you have a good fashion sense...” “Alright, alright. Don’t be so pissed. I only said I thought you shouldn’t buy that shirt,” finally claimed Taehyung. You rolled your eyes in pure annoyance at his behaviour. He carried on, “Well, seems like your friend has abandoned you. How about we shop together, since we’re both alone?” You agreed, despite your annoyance towards him, knowing his advice might be useful, plus it’s always better to shop with someone. You didn’t know the man and he might as well have been a pedophile, but you chose to take the risk anyway.
You ended up spending the whole afternoon together at the mall, realizing how you both have many similar tastes in clothing. You had to agree he was right about the first shirt, even though his behaviour irritated you, questioning your ability to make right clothing choices. At the end of the afternoon, you exchanged numbers, before parting ways.
You spotted your roommate at the entrance of another boutique, gesturing for you to join her. She introduced you to her friends and they immediately welcomed you in their group, questioning you non-stop about your home country and discussing about life in South Korea. You continued shopping with them until it was almost dark. However, shopping wasn’t as fun as it was with Taehyung and you couldn’t help but wish he was still next to you, giving his opinion whenever you spotted something you liked. That art student maybe had a good sense of fashion after all...

Jeon Jeongguk (Jungkook)
You had moved to Seoul a year ago and another school year was about to begin, to your biggest despair. You had made a few friends, but barely had time to hang out with them, seeing you not only had to get the school work done, but also had to learn korean on top of everything. It had been an exhausting first year, and frankly, you didn’t know what to expect from this second year, hoping for the best, but bracing yourself for the worst.
It was the night before the first day of courses and you had everything ready: your bag was packed, your lunch was already prepared, your outfit was ready for the next day, resting on your desk chair. You went to sleep early, trying to be in the best possible shape the next day, but your racing mind prevented you from falling asleep.
The next morning, you woke up as tired as ever, wishing you could’ve slept for another hour or so. You got up, sipped on a warm cup of coffee, dressed up and applied a light touch of makeup to your face, wanting to look at least a little decent for your first day of the school year, before heading out the door, completely forgetting about eating breakfast. You were in a rush and didn’t want to miss the bus bringing you to the campus, so you walked at a quick pace to the bus stop, although you were far from being late.
Once at school, you sat down at one of the numerous empty seats, getting your school supplies out of your bag, ready to begin your course. Luckily, you only had three hours of class that day, meaning you had the whole afternoon to yourself. A few minutes later, a boy your age stopped at the desk right beside yours, asking, “Is this seat taken?” You shook your head no, allowing the boy to sit down. He had gorgeous rounded brown eyes and brown strands of hair perfectly fell onto his forehead. He shot you a friendly smile, his delicate lips curving cutely. “Hi! My name’s Jeon Jeongguk, but you can call me Jungkook if it’s easier for you,” the young man declared. You introduced yourself too, thus starting a conversation with him. It was his first year at that school, recently having moved to Seoul to pursue his dreams, so you informed him about everything he had to know about and questioned him about his ambitions.
You spotted an appetizing breakfast sitting at the corner of his desk and you couldn’t help but stare at it once in a while, feeling your stomach grumbling out of hunger. Jungkook soon noticed your behaviour, quickly offering you some. You declined his offer, claiming you’d eat something later on. He couldn’t let you start your day on an empty stomach, so he insisted, handing you his dish. You thanked him, explaining why you hadn’t actually had breakfast before coming to school. The food was truly delectable and you still felt bad for stealing half of it from him because of your own mistake. He kept repeating he didn’t mind, then took a few snacks out of his bag, saying he’d eat these if he was hungry, finally convincing you it wasn’t such a big deal.
You started discussing about your interests and hobbies, discovering you had quite a lot in common. It was enjoyable to discuss with that new friendly student and you didn’t notice the time passing by. Or at least, you hoped class wasn’t starting soon.
Suddenly, you both heard a loud and strict voice state, “Hey the couple in the back. If you don’t mind, I’m trying to teach the class, so could you maybe tone it down a bit.” You felt your face flush in embarrassment as you noticed all the faces turning towards you and Jungkook, including the teacher, staring at you from his spot in front of the classroom. You glanced at your friend, noticing his cocky smile. He quickly replied, “Oh, Mister, I’d like to apologize on behalf of my girlfriend and myself. Don’t worry, we’ll be quiet from now on.” Jungkook was surprised by the confidence in his tone as he gave the teacher a cocky answer. He’s usually not the type to talk back to an adult the way he did, but this time, it was different. He couldn’t embarrass himself in front of you, so he hid his usually shy personality, gathered all his confidence and replied with a sarcastic comment.
You were still shocked by his blunt answer, especially since he had called you his girlfriend in front of the whole class, while you had just met minutes ago. You shot him a weird look, to which he simply replied by bursting into a fit of laughter. His laughter was contagious and you soon joined in, giggling about the situation. The teacher thankfully ignored you both, carrying on with the lesson.
You and Jungkook continued subtly discussing throughout the whole class, acting as if nothing was going on whenever the teacher turned around, making it hard for the both of you to contain your laughter every time you saw the annoyed look plastered to his face. You would usually religiously listen to the teacher talking, but you didn’t mind breaking the rules for once, if it allowed you to keep exchanging with Jungkook. You’d ask a fellow student what you’ve missed later on. As the course came to an end, you knew your school year wouldn’t be as bad as you had expected it to be, as long as you had your new friend sitting next to you.
It was lunch time and you were looking for an excuse to continue spending time with Jungkook. You then remembered how he was new to this school and thought you could show him around. You suggested your idea, hoping Jungkook wouldn’t think it seemed suspicious. Luckily, he smiled softly, answering, “Why not? I’ve told my roommate I’d eat lunch with him, but I can tell him I’ve had a change of plans and I’m pretty sure he won’t mind. I can still eat with him tomorrow. So... Let’s go! I can’t stand being in this suffocating room anymore and I’m starving!” You laughed, then followed him out of the classroom.
You hung out together for the whole afternoon until it was time for you to catch the bus driving you back to your apartment, never once feeling bored. You thought time really does fly when you’re in good company. And you wished time would pass quickly more often, if it meant you were spending time with Jungkook.

Chapter 3: Extracurricular Activities
Black!Female!Reader x E’Dawn

Tumblr media
Today was your first day going to dance practice after school. It was one of your lighter days, so it wouldn’t be too bad. It’s just...the outfits weren’t made for your American ass. Even though you had lost some weight after the drastic change in your diet that came with moving to a new country, there was still enough there that you were worried these Asian made shorts would rip trying to go over your hips.
Looking at yourself in the bathroom mirror, it wasn’t too bad. You ordered two sizes bigger than you thought you would need for your bloated days. You didn’t know it would be your regular pair.
“Not bad.” You said, taking one last look before heading to the school gym. Maybe you were being paranoid, but were those guys taking pictures of you?
You wiped your eyes and woke up at 6am. After waking yourself up through a bit of web surfing on your phone, you nudged yourself out of bed and into the bathroom to get ready for school. Hair, makeup, making sure you had done all your homework, and doing the homework you didn’t finish but was due in 4 hours. Just like the responsible college kid you were.
Lisa was playing music as she poured her cereal and danced in the kitchen. You decided to join her before applying anything to your lips. She was super excited to get the day started for some reason. You had another roommate that you never saw traces of except in the trash can.
“What’s got you excited today?”
“First day of Dance Practice!” She squealed.
You gasped, “Oh, right! I forgot that was today. It’s right after my English class since it got switched last second.”
“You’re so silly.” Lisa giggled and took a sip of juice. “Hey, how are you feeling? We all talked in the group chat, and he sort of got kicked out of said chat. Not like he was saying anything.”
“Uh, yeah. I saw. I just. Neither of us were completely right. I could’ve been faster with my decision or told him I needed time to think, but he also had the possibility to tell me that he was lying about actually waiting forever for me.”
“Wait he said that?”
You nodded. “Yep. He said he’d wait for my answer and respect it, but it’s my first month in a new country. I’ve got a lot of things going on, and couldn’t he wait? Just a little?”
“He should’ve, jeez. Some men just have no sense of patience or like anything really. I’m really sorry. I knew you had a bit of a crush on him, or that you were starting to get close with him.”
You sighed, “Thanks, Lisa. You’re the best. You wanna meet up before practice or will you be busy?”
“Yeah, sounds good. No wait, I’ve gotta go straight from a class to practice, so not today. I’ll see you there, though.”
With the added information, you reminded yourself to pack your dance clothes in a separate bag to keep in your car until it was time to change. You made sure you had everything on the check list and then you headed off for school ahead of Lisa.
Hyojong’s English class had been the most boring of all his classes. It was filled with people who either had no idea how to speak English past a greeting and apologizing and what was in music or people who thought they could speak English better than everyone. E’Dawn knew how to write English better than he could speak it and wasn’t very good at conversational English.
It wasn’t until he saw familiar brown combat boots and a red skirt did he actually think that it might be a good class after all. You sat down, not having seen him. If you had seen Hyojong, you would’ve sat next to him. Right? He saw you set your backpack down and approach the teacher.
You two bowed to each other and then exchanged a handshake. The following conversation was in English, and it caught the attention of the rest of the class who probably didn’t understand half of it. The way you spoke English was beautiful. Why were you even in this class?
Class began and the teacher spoke in a mix of Korean and English as she usually did. She introduced you and E’Dawn felt like he understood everything you were saying even if he had never head the words before.
“Hi, I’m (Y/F/N), and I’m a freshman this year. I’m here to do some research on how English is taught in college classes as it is part of my writing class to write a research paper on a topic of my choice for my final project.”
Hyojong waved and you waved back which made him really happy. People looked and you grinned before finishing up. “I will probably be interviewing some of you, but don’t worry, I know Korean too.” You repeated it all in Korean and got more nods from everyone listening.
The teacher spoke as well, “(Y/N) is here to observe and said that she’s willing to help you if you have any questions for her, but only after you’ve finished your daily work. Thank you, (Y/N).”
You bowed to the teacher and sat down in a front row seat in the farthest right column. You took out your notebook and started taking notes about today’s lesson. When the teacher told the students to get into small groups to practice with each other, a lot of them tried to come to you, but the teacher told everyone to stop before you got trampled.
“Form groups with your actual classmates. (Y/N) will come around and look into each group for a bit and do her thing.”
The group practiced ordering food at a restaurant. Those who were more well traveled were able to do it better. Hyojong was trying even harder now that you were in class. He noticed you go around and sit in on different groups and ask them questions in both Korean and English. Some even asked you to question them in English so they could guess.
When you got to Hyojong’s group, you bowed to them since they were all older than you.
You spoke in Korean, “So, I was wondering what made you take this class in the first place.”
Most of them were business related and wanting to better communicate with future business partners. Others like Hyojong were planning to go abroad some time in the future and believed communication would be easier since English is a universal language.
“How are you today, (Y/N)?” Hyojong asked in English with a unique inflection that made you smile.
You answered, “I’m doing well, oppa. Do you have any questions for me?”
“Is this actually right? What we’re being taught?”
You looked over his shoulder in the textbook and scanned it, not seeing anything wrong until...
Tumblr media
You leaned down over the book and made sure you read that right. You did, and you were all adults. You had to explain this.
“Yeah, so far so good. Only, you wouldn’t um...you wouldn’t say ‘Who do you usually eat out?’ unless you add the word ‘with’ at the end. Without that word, it changes the connotation completely.”
One boy in the senior colors asked why, as did the whole table. You explained how it was slang for giving oral to a female or a butthole. They all covered their mouths and you nodded.
“I should probably tell the teacher this, so she can tell everyone else. That’s a really bad mistake to make. Hyojong-oppa, can I see your book for a bit, please?”
He handed you the book, and you approached the teacher asking to see her in the hallway. After a moment, the two of you returned and Hyojong couldn’t believe their textbook had such a mistake in it. The teacher addressed the class telling them to fix it in their books and praised you for being such a great asset to the class.
You returned the book to E’dawn who couldn’t help but smile at you, “Be careful, or she might assign you to read through the whole book and point out what needs to be fixed.”
The others laughed and one of the girls who were with them asked how to say a certain word. You pronounced the word for them slowly and then were called to the front of the class to have volunteers to "make plans for lunch” with you. When class was over, Hyojong asked if you had anything to do before changing for dance practice.
“Ah, no. I just wanted to ask the teacher a few things.”
“Ok, I’ll wait for you outside, so you can walk me to my next class.”
You smiled and felt a slight blush rising, “Sure. Sounds good.”
E’dawn stood outside the classroom and waited for you as you asked the teacher whatever. He wanted to tell you that he had a crush on you, but he wasn’t sure how to do it. The reason he hesitated was because you were just so beautiful and he wasn’t sure if you were completely over...whatever you and Vernon had been.
He didn’t want to do anything too rash in case it caused you to turn him down, so the blonde decided to wait. His mind wandered to what your first date might be like. Should he take you to Hongdae or someplace classier? If it were in Hongdae, he’d pick someplace that served American food to make you feel at home. It would start raining and he’d hold your hand as you took cover. You’d thank him and kiss him for thinking so quickly.
“Um, oppa?” Your actually voice and a poke to his tummy made him wake up.
He woke up from his imagination to see your sweet face in front of him with a curious spark in your eyes. Your messenger bag strap was held by both of your hands as you raised your eyebrows and laughed.
“What were you thinking about?”
He blushed, “N-nothing. So, onto my next class.”
On the way to his next class, he told you how glad he was that you had made it onto both dance teams. You asked how he got into dance, and he said that he was into hip-hop.
“It lead to making want to learn how to rap and dance. Just the amount of pure talent in hip hop just inspired me to push myself in a different direction than I was going.”
“That’s amazing.”
He stopped, “This is me. I’ll see you after class then.”
You nodded and let him go, but you both turned around and told each other to wait. Instead of just talking over each other, he told you to speak first. You asked him a question you had been wondering about for a whole week. Even though you were pretty sure about the answer, you wanted to hear it come from his mouth.
Looking down and twisting your shoulder strap, you asked, “You’re not seeing anyone are you? Like, I know you’re not dating Hyuna, but is there anyone else?” You nervously bit your lip.
“Nope. I’m single. Have been for a while.” He sighed and gave you an obvious look before saying. “Wish I had someone though. Why?”
“No reason!” You bowed. “I’ll see you in practice later!” And you rushed off before your cheeks got any hotter.
So yeah, you were totally into Hyojong. He was opened to dating. It wasn’t until you were drinking some cold coffee in the cafe that you realized that would’ve been a great time to ask him to go out with you.
“Fuck!” you slammed your drink down and then looked around. After apologizing for interrupting, you went back to your studying and finished typing up your findings from your first day in Hyojong’s English class.
After looking at the time, you had an hour before practice. You went to your car to make sure you had everything since you had enough time to stop by at home if you didn’t. You had everything for both of your groups.
For the All-Female dance team, you had to wear red shorts and a blue crop top with white tennis shoes and socks. Your white socks were all dirty, so you decided fishnet socks would have to work today. The team was called S.H.E which stood for Soul Heart Excellence. You also had to have backup black heels, which you did.
Then for the Co-ed dace team, you were given snap pants in both blue and red and a blue jacket with “Spotlight Dancer” on the sleeves as well as your name on the back of it. Red and blue shirts were provided with the team name on the front. That name? Urban Shine to reference a former K-pop group called Urban Zakapa. The shoe requirements were the same: dress shoes and white lace ups.
Tumblr media
You decided to change in the bathroom just because you knew there’d be staring in the changing rooms, and you just didn’t want that today. There were a few African names on the list. None of them were Spotlight dancers, though. Every way you thought about it ended up with you being stared at. Maybe it was all in your head, but by the time you convinced yourself of that, you were in a bathroom stall getting undressed.
Even though you ordered a few sizes above what you thought you would need since it was Asian sizing...maybe you should’ve gotten even bigger. You just prayed that your ass wasn’t hanging out of the shorts when you were stepping out. You put on the ones you ordered for your bloated days and decided they’d work better for your regular pair. At least the top fit well.
You crossed your fingers and hoped that you wouldn’t look like the stereotypical black girl in the back of music videos when you came out of the stall. Looking at the mirror, you looked more normal than you thought you would.
“Not bad.” You said, putting your clothes into your practice bad and then heading to the school gym.
As you walked from the gaming hall to the gym that was about a block away, you felt like more eyes were on you than need be. You checked to make sure you didn’t have your Special jacket on. Then you thought you saw a pair of guys recording or taking pictures of you. Were you just being paranoid? Either way, your face got hot from embarrassment.
Hyojong saw you as he was dressed in his own outfit for the He Is Magic dance team, aka H.I.M. It was blue sweat pants and a red tank top with white lace-ups. For E’dawn, that was converse. A pair of Keds was in his bag as required as well as his co-ed dance team outfit. Today the guys were told to wear the blue snap pants with a white shirt. His red Spotlight Dancer jacket was in there as well.
Tumblr media
He noticed that you seemed to be looking over your shoulder a lot. Were you uncomfortable? Either way, he didn’t like the look on your face and wanted to make you feel better. As he got closer, he heard some guys talking about you, no not you. They were talking about your body, objectifying you, as if you were only walking past them for their amusement.
Sometimes he had done this, but it was mostly just saying how pretty a girl was and then hoping he had a good day. Not this. This was disgusting, and he nearly grew horns when they got their phones out to start taking pictures of you. Hyojong started running and called your name.
Dear God, who’s calling my name now? You thought as you heard someone yelling for you. Wait, you knew that voice. Turning around, you felt relief wash over you when E’dawn came running towards you.
He put his arm around you, “Are you ok?”
“I just feel really exposed. Nothing’s hanging out, right?” You had to ask, and you trusted him to be honest with you.
E’dawn answered, “Nope. Everything fits fine. If it feels uncomfortable, do you wanna wear my jacket?”
You shook your head, “Just you being here is helping me a lot. Thanks, oppa.”
“You’re welcome. I’d do anything for you.”
As the two of you walked towards the gym, there were arrows pointing to the different practices for the sexes. You two kept talking about classes and stuff and didn’t notice you were walking to the girls’ practice until you were standing outside.
“Oh, I guess we’re here. You are an absolute life saver, oppa.”
“You make me so happy when you call me that. Just because no one says it as cute as you do. ‘Oppa~, you’re so great’” He imitated you with a high voice. “ ‘Oh my gosh, oppa! Oppa’s a lifesaver! Oppa, this isn’t phrased correctly, it means a naughty thing!’ So cute.”
Both of you laughed. Hyojong hugged you and said that he’d see you later. His closest friend Hui saw it since he was talking to Hyuna. All of the other girls saw it too.
“Hui, let’s go to practice! Don’t wanna be late, ya noob!”
The man with silver purplish hair and a bucket hat told Hyuna farewell and went to catch up with his other friend. Lisa and Rosé called you over and introduced you to some of the other girls they had met while doing warm ups. It was still 10 minutes until practice started officially, so it was fine to just mill around a bit.
You met Jisoo and Jennie who were just super adorable human beings.
“Are you two dating?” Jennie asked, pointing to the door.
“What? No. We’re friends.” You said, getting into a V-sit position and reaching towards your right foot. “I wouldn’t mind it, though. Hyojong’s a great guy.”
As you talked about your blonde and sweet oppa, Hyuna smiled and texted her friend. She told him to ask you out the next time you two were together and just to trust her when he asked why. He said there were no promises.
“Alright, my Sheros, let’s go around the room and introduce each other! I’ll start. My name is Kim Hyuna, call me Hyuna or just by my honorific since a lot of you are younger than me. I’m one of the co-captains, but I can’t be here all the time because I have cheerleading practice which is usually at the same time...”
She went on for a bit, introducing the other co-captain Korai Nonanes who was Japanese and very well recognized for being the leader even during her freshman year when their actual captain quit last second. Korai was the reason why they never got less than second place.
After getting to know everyone, you all went over the basic dance steps and did some trust exercises. Then it was time to disperse. A lot of the girls redid their makeup. Some were also in your co-ed dance team. You were wearing a lot of waterproof things since you knew it would be hot today, so you were fine after checking your eyeliner and lipstick.
When you changed into your second outfit, you unsnapped the pants to your lower thigh. You were humming the band tune to yourself when you heard Rosé giggle.
“Are you excited to see E’dawn again?”
You blinked and couldn’t help but smile, “I wasn’t even thinking about him until you said something.”
“And look how big your smile got!” Lisa cooed. “Ask him out, (Y/N)!”
Even Jisoo spoke up, “I think you two would be really cute with each other.”
Puffing your cheeks, you replied, “I’ll think about it.”
It had been two months, and you still had not asked him out. Hyojong hadn’t asked you out, either. Both of you were just extremely nervous and bashful to move the relationship you had past being best friends which you were at this point. The best of friends. You two were even partners for the Spotlight Dancer Duet since you two worked so well together.
The amount of people who asked if you were dating increased. Your friends even had to ask you, “Are you sure you’re not dating?”
You two were just close since neither of you would say anything about your feelings for each other. Instead, you “accidentally” flirted with each other and did everything that couples did except makeout. You’d even kiss each other’s cheeks and foreheads, but you weren’t dating. Nope, not at all.
Today was an exciting day since it was Theme Day for competition being held after winter break. All three groups got different themes and then had to elaborate with them on their own.
For the girls, it was Rock Music while the guys got International Music. Mostly, it was just taking a survey of songs you all wanted to dance to. You picked a lot of songs you listened to or heard while growing up plus some things that your parents listened to. Queen, Nirvana, Def Leopard, KISS.
When it came to the co-ed Urban Shine, the female leader Stevie A called for a drumroll while K. Gami opened the email. All the dancers hit their legs rapidly until you were given the signal to stop.
“Fairy Tales!”
Everyone’s mind went to Disney cuteness and princely manners. While reading the email, K. Gami explained that the troupe had to choose 3-5 different classic fairy tales they’d like to turn into dance and send it in. They had to pick several in case someone picked their top one first. That meant this was the quickest brainstorming session ever.
They sent in the following list:
Aladdin
Peter Pan
Alice in Wonderland
Wizard of Oz
Not even 5 minutes later, they got back what they would do while they were doing a dancer version of “Trust Pinball”. Another drumroll was done and they announced that Urban Shine had gotten Peter Pan. Taller men tried out for the parts of Captain Hook, larger men and some girls for Smee. Then auditions were held for the main parts of Wendy and Peter.
Not many people auditioned when they saw that you and E’dawn were individually auditioning. The auditions were basically a minute and thirty seconds of in character dance, a mix of ballet, contemporary, and street dance. The lead positions were closed to Spotlight Dancers anyways, but even the others who had been dancing for a while didn’t want to impede of this potential match finally being made.
In short, you got Wendy and E’dawn got Peter.
“So, the Spotlight Dancers can stay to help us figure out an outline, and the rest of you are free to go home. Get some rest and study!”
After everyone left, Stevie A asked what you guys wanted to do. There were eight spotlight dancers: You, E’Dawn, J. Seph, Hyuna, Hui, Somin, Matthew, and Jiwoo.
Matthew had gotten to be Captain Hook while Somin became Smee. Hyuna would become Tiger Lily. The others would be Wendy’s siblings and Jiwoo was Tinkerbell. You mostly watched while they all created a basic story line and a schedule to get everything done like costuming, etc. It wasn’t until they got to the topic of music genres that E’dawn made sure to ask your opinion.
“Um, I think that each section should have it’s own genre or subgenre. Like, if we’re doing pop music as the main type, we could have songs that are more classical based for Wendy, rock or hip hop for Hook, that sort of thing.”
Hyuna gasped, “A LOVE SONG WHEN PETER MEETS WENDY! They kiss right?”
You blinked before Matthew clarified, “It’s not a real kiss, but it’s a thimble and an acorn they exchange to symbolize a kiss.”
“They should kiss.” She said with sass.
“Or not.” Hyojong said. “I like that part a lot since I think it’s deeper than a kiss.”
“Same here. It’s just so romantic, and it ends up saving his life. We have to keep it.”
The choreographers agreed. Then they asked for music suggestions.
“I think pop could do us some good. It’ll resonate with the audience better and we can be trendy by adding some American pop music. I want five songs from each of you by midnight tomorrow.” Stevie A said. “I think that’s it for tonight. You lucky ducks get some sleep now.”
Everyone moved to pack up and chatter some more. Hyojong offered to walk you to your car. You agreed, and neither of you noticed the knowing looks shared between the other dancers. They were just waiting for one of you to ask the other out on a legitimate romantic date.
You yawned as the cold night air sent prickles up your arms.
E’Dawn smiled at you, “So, Wendy, are you excited for competition season to begin?”
“Very. I love Peter Pan, so I’m so glad we got to do that one. I would’ve loved to have done Alice in Wonderland too.” You texted Lisa and your other roommate in the groupchat to say you were going home. “What would your second pick have been.”
“Alice, of course. It’s so awesome and psycadellic. The costumes for that performance would’ve been amazing. I hope we do a spin on this concept too.”
“Like making it modernized or something.” You both said.
You looked up at him and giggled, “Ok, so that’s a great idea, but I don’t wanna wear jeans. Even leggings sometimes chafe.”
“So a shorter dress?” He asked, “I mean, I guess it’s ok if you’re comfortable with it and we don’t get disqualified.”
“Ok, so maybe leggings with like a blue peplum shirt.”
He nodded, “Oh wait, does that mean, I have to wear leggings too? OR like will green sweatpants be ok?”
To be completely honest, you started to crack up out of embarrassment for imagining his area his tights. How large would it be? How thick? You had to laugh at how wild your imagination went in a few seconds and stop yourself from looking at his crotch.
Hyojong chuckled, “What?”
“You in tights. I hope you just get regular pants. I’m sure that would get us disqualified. Like, imagine if you were doing a lift and something ripped or you got ‘excited’ out of nowhere.”
In all honesty, it wouldn’t have been out of nowhere. He sometimes had thoughts about you, and would turn himself on just by being near you or his own imagination. He just imagined cuddles that went other places and sometimes it made him dizzy just thinking about you.
He laughed it off, “You’re exactly right. I’ll make sure tights are not part of the costume. What if they wanted you to wear a skirt?”
“Maybe if it was a bit more flowing instead of frilly and maybe a bit see-through, that would be more modern. Make the top more frilly. Maybe just make it like a return of Peter Pan and have me in a nightie.”
Hyojong swallowed, “And if we wanted modern child?”
You thought for a bit, “A bit of frills. Mayhaps we could go back to the tights idea, or maybe leggings. Ooo, Leggings and an oversized shirt. Kids and adults do that all the time nowadays. Maybe just a blue pants and shirt set? Need to write this down.”
It was obvious that E’dawn liked you, at least to himself. He was completely and utterly attracted to every aspect that you had to give. Your mind. Your voice. Your dancing skill. Everything, but this was probably the moment he fell in love with you. Your face was looking at the notes in the phone and typing out what you two just talked about.
His heart wouldn’t calm down, and he wanted to kiss you. He really wanted to kiss you, but he couldn’t. He was too nervous to ask, too nervous to just do it. Everything in his body screamed to take the chance. E’dawn just froze.
[Three weeks later]
It was just a week until winter break began and the school had been decorated for the upcoming holiday season. Most everyone wore Christmas colors for the allowed accessories: hair clips, socks, shoes, ponytail holders. You and E’dawn were putting on your matching reindeer antlers after practice tonight.
Everyone threw on a sweater or a jacket to brave the cold night and dash to their cars with sweat making everything sticky.
The set up was great and you had mostly been working on the ensemble work instead of the smaller group things. The costumes would be revealed after Christmas, and you had seen the sketches.
It would be silky light blue pajama top and bottoms for you as Wendy. The bottoms would most likely be shorts for mobility and a flowy light blue robe to go over it. They said that they would add bows to the bottoms to make it more “girly” and like Wendy-esque. Also, since she was essentially barefoot, you’d have to find ballet flats to match your skin tone. Heh, that’d be fun. At least they didn’t shove you in “nude” slippers and tell you to deal with it.
Tumblr media
E’Dawn Pan was glad that he wasn’t wearing tights or leggings, and you were too. He was wearing green shorts with a green vest over a shirt that had stars all over it. For shoes, it was mostly up to him, but he wanted to have brown shoes since it was a neutral color. So the costuming department decided brown moccasins or ankle boots would work.
Tumblr media
For Captain Hook, it was spiked black boots, red muscle shirt with dark red vest, and black jeans. Matthew would wear a regular pirate hat with it with a puffy white feather. Complete with hook hand. He said that he’d try to grow his hair out to make it more realistic. They sort of wanted him to dance in a suit, but he was strongly against that.
Tumblr media
Tinkerbell Jiwoo would be wearing a green dress not much different from the original style, but more tulle. She’d also have wings and ballet flats to complete the look. They said that she’d be wearing a sparkly pair if they could find some food ones. Also, she got to get a drawstring purse full of silver and gold glitter for fairy dust.
Tumblr media
J Seph was John, so he just got to wear a white pajama set while Hui was in a pink onesie if it was safe enough. If not, then he’d just be wearing the same sort of pajama set. It was your second to last practice before the holidays began, and everyone was excited.
E’dawn threw his coat on before asking you, “Hey, did you wanna get something to eat before heading home? Just something quick before we go home and do assignments.”
“Sure! Let’s get something warm.”
“You guys going to eat?” Matthew piped up.
“Yeah. Not sure where yet. Why don’t you come along?” You asked like the oblivious darling you were.
Matthew agreed and so then all the Spotlight Dancers plus Lisa and Rosé came along for the meal. Most of the finals were done by this point of the year, but there were things still going on around campus and around the city that caused a lot of students to stay until the campus closed.
You guys ended up at a place famous for Korean BBQ and noodles. A lot of celebrities visited apparently, since their were signatures on the walls and pictures with the manager of that time. Dang, this place was old, but it felt strangely like home. After ordering food, everyone talked about how excited they were.
“I can’t believe we’re almost to competition season!” Jiwoo said.
Lisa agreed, “I know. I’m so glad we don’t have to perform at freezing cold football games anymore. Like, why don’t we have sweat pants like the cheerleaders?”
“Oh my god, right?” Rosé chirpped.
“Holy shit, I agree with that 100%!” You added.
J Seph laughed, “What was that saying? No pain no gain?”
Matthew gave his two cents, “Exactly. What’s a little hypothermia for the price of looking fabulous during half time and in the stands when no one is really paying attention to you?”
Somin hit his arm and you kicked his shin. He cursed in English and Korean for that. The rest of the table laughed.
E’dawn handed you the drink you ordered since he was sitting next to you as well as a straw as you were speaking.
“At least--oh thanks, oppa--at least we got to wear leggings when performing with the co-ed team, under the pants.”
Momo pouted and put her head in her hands, “Maybe I should join the co-ed team so that I can wear leggings. Then at least I’d be a little warmer. Didn’t you get jackets, too?”
They nodded. Momo was there before the co-ed dancers arrived but decided to join since you all basically knew each other from S.H.E. When the food arrived, everyone dug in and tried all sorts of things. Your noodles were the most delicious thing you’ve ever tasted. Apparently, a bit too good since everyone was staring at you.
“E’dawn, you gotta step up your game if she’s moaning like that for some cheap noodles.” Hui joked, making your oppa blush.
“I don’t even do things like that with her. We’re friends.” He mumbled.
You held up some noodles to Hui’s face, “You try them and not have a foodgasm.”
The silver-haired man ate them and his eyes rolled to the back of his head, “Ok, I take it back. Even if you tried, you couldn’t make her moan like these noodles could.”
“I’m sure he could.” You say and then put more food in your mouth, slurping it up and giving him a ‘come at me’ look.
“Geez, (Y/N), how did we ever have fun without you? You’re so cool.” He said and the other agreed.
You smiled happily and continued eating. E’Dawn brushed your bottom lip with his thumb and then put it in his mouth. You looked up at him, kind of shocked at the seemingly sudden action.
“Yeah. It’s really good.” He said simply.
What the fuck? You didn’t know that he couldn’t stop staring at your lips as you ate and enjoyed the food. You also didn’t know that he had gotten a bit jealous when you fed his friend some food and not him, so when he saw a drop of broth on your lips, he took a chance. However, he had no clue had your heart was pounding out of your chest or that your panties suddenly got wet.
And neither would ever find out because you both looked away embarrassed with all eyes on you as E’dawn excused himself to outside the restaurant.
What the fuck was he thinking? What kind of k-drama move was that? E’dawn paced in front of the store. The cold would clear his head. Yes. That would work. You probably weren’t even that into him, he thought. Why did he get jealous of his friend?
Speaking of, Hui came out to check on him.
“Why can’t I words?” E’dawn asked. “I just wanted to ask if  I could try some of her noodles too, but instead I act like some delinquent from a drama hitting on a girl!”
Hui chuckled, “Well, you’re two out of the three, but a gentle delinquent.”
He pouted, “I really like her, Hui. What do I do?”
“Telling her would be a good start.”
“Pssshhhh. BUT HOWWWW?” He whined.
“Come back inside. I’ve got an idea.”
You stared at your friends and they stared back. They all just saw that. Your cheeks were still on fire! There were things you wanted to say, but none of them were made of actual words.
Rosé cracked a smile, “Giiiiiiirrrrrllll. Please tell me that you know he likes you now.”
“It was just. He’s not. We’re--”
Jennie chuckled, “That’s not something friends do. Boy got jealous of you feeding his friend.”
The others nodded, but you kept denying it. There was just no way he was into you like that. “I’m his dude. We’re just buds. Dude buds.”
“I’m a dude. He’s a dude. Dude’s don’t just do that to other dudes.” Matthew replied. “I would’ve gotten a napkin or something probably just have pointed it out so that you could get it yourself. But that was like skin ta skin. He wants you, (Y/N), and it’s clear as day you feel the same.”
Momo whispered, “He’s coming back, and I swear to God if you don’t actually flirt with him. You’re wearing matching antlers!”
And everyone acted normal as they ate in sync. The table was silent for a good moment which made everything sort of really awkward until Hui spoke up.
“So, (Y/N), are you going home for the holidays? Like back to America?”
“I might for like a week, but tickets are really expensive. Not sure whether to go before or after Christmas.”
Jisoo spoke up, “Do you celebrate, uh, what’s it called? Something-zah!”
“Kwanzaa!”
“Yeah, Kwanzaa. Do you celebrate that? If so, you should go after Christmas to celebrate it and the solar New Year with family.”
“But you have to be back in time for Lunar New Year.” J. Seph added. “You’re really pretty and I really want to see you in a hanbok. I’m sure I’m not the only one.”
Everyone at the table gushed at how cute you’d look in their traditional clothing, suggesting colors that they think would look best. The girls said that they’d probably go a bit more modern and do pastel hanboks this year.
Hui steered the conversation back to the way he wanted as everyone started to pay for their food, “Well, I wanted to invite you guys all to a Christmas party at my aunt’s resort. It’s always good and lots of food. Good drinks, too.”
“Sure! Sounds good. I’ll come along. Is it formal?”
“Not really, just Christmas colors. However, girls usually wear that ‘sexy Santa’ costume as a tradition, so you might want to get one of your own.”
E’dawn gave his friend a look that went unnoticed by you. Hui was lying his ass off, but he wasn’t about to stop him. Girls usually did wear it, but it wasn’t tradition. Either way, you guys decided to go hanbok shopping and have a lot of fun before you left back home. You couldn’t wait for some down time, either.

Drama Eyes Review- Avengers Social Club Episode 1
Tumblr media
Hello there. How are you? This is Anonymous from Drama Eyes, and I am here to recap what I believe is going on based off of episode 1 of the Korean Drama series Avengers Social Club.
I am trying to watch more foreign dramas without the subtitles to immerse myself in the language, and so I will try to record my thoughts here to be able to look back on my understanding.
Without further ado, let’s get into it.
So the episode starts out with the main guy of the show played by Jun (Lee Soo Gyum according to the Mydramalist page) running away from some people. He gets away on a fishing boat of a fishing couple. With this scene, I could tell that Soo Gyum is on the playful side as he bid farewell to his pursuer.
It then cuts to one of our main ladies, Lee Yo Won (Kim Jung Hye), celebrating a family birthday. She doesn’t look the slightest bit happy and notices her husband texting someone a question mark (now thinking about it he probably is asking the person who is chasing Soo Gyum whether he has him or not). The grandchild of the birthday man fawn over him, and it appears that the Grandfather hardly pays attention to Yo Won or her husband… Until he brings up that he has a son (presumably not from Yo Won-- Okay, I am pretty sure it isn’t). Later that night when the couple returns home, Yo Won goes into a baby room and looks carefully at one toy (leading me to believe that she had a miscarriage). Her dense as dirt husband comes in and tries to express that he is hurt, but really doesn’t seem to care nearly as much as Yo Won. Yo Won leaves the room upset and her husband clueless.
Cut back to Soo Gyum, who hears that his Grandmother is in critical condition. Desperate to get off the boat, he jumps off and swims to shore, running to find that his Grandmother is trying to be revived to no avail. Later, he walks up to none other than Yo Won’s office building and the two exchange interaction (he is his son, I guess? Maybe they adopted him or he is his biological son, I don’t know yet). The two seem to be getting along well.
We cut to leading lady number two, Ra Mi Ran (Hong Do Hee)’s son, who is being harassed at school, leading to him punching the face of the dunce's head. The bully ends up “hurt”, leading to him getting in trouble and the school calling Hong Do Hee. She closes down her fish store and hurries to her son, so much in a hurry that she gets hit by a car. None other than Yo Won’s car. End of story, she ends up giving Do Hee a ride to the school. The issue is sorted out and we get to see the strong family bond of the mother and son.
Cut to Yo Won at a flower arranging cafe of sorts, and we finally get a glimpse of the third leading lady, Myung Se Bin (Lee Mi Sook). Yo Won listens to Mi Sook with a group of other women who I am assuming are praising her husband, and she acts humble and denies the praise they give. She then cuts herself on accident with the flowers and excuses herself.
Yo Won returns home and meets Soo Gyum who is hanging out with her husband and having a swim. She ignores the offer to talk with him and goes inside; and to her dismay? Her baby room has been emptied out and replaced with Soo Gyum’s belongings. When she is found by her husband and stepson (it’s easier to call him this instead of Soo Gyum every time because that is what it says on the Mydramalist page), the husband halfheartedly apologizes and Yo Won dismisses him before leaving.
The next morning, Yo Won eats breakfast and is visibly put off when she hears her husband and Soo Gyum laughing in. She excuses herself and ignores Soo Gyum’s small talk, glaring at him when he persists. The husband leads him away.
Yo Won and her husband attend an old classmate’s event (I believe it’s a book something or other), and of course, it’s none other than Mi Sook’s husband. Another classmate comes, and the husband’s laugh over the top at everything they say while Yo Won looks utterly disgusted with him.
Long story short, we find out Mi Sook is being domestically abused by her husband when Yo Won confronts her about it. She asks if they can meet somewhere the next day and they do. The evening ends with Yo Won going to her room and shutting the door without saying a word to Soo Gyum (nothing new).
The next day, Do Hee is psyching herself up to go speak to the mother of the bully to her son. I am assuming they were going to file something against her, and she wanted to ask for one more chance. I assume they badmouthed her son and she banged on the table to say something. However, she held back and simply apologized again. But this bully of a child videotaped her apology and then had the audacity to pour a drink on her head as she bowed, pretending it was a mistake.
How coincidentally, our other two lead ladies were having a meeting there. Do Hee grabs the bully’s mother’s leg when she tries to leave only to be told to get off. When the bully’s mother sees Yo Won, she instantly greets her and acts like she was greeting royalty (leading me to understand the strong reputation that Yo Won has). It is because of Yo Won that the woman somewhat agrees to give Do Hee’s son another chance.
Do Hee joins the circle and Yo Won tries to tell both women about her plan. That they both have people they want to get even with, and that they should. We also learn that Do Hee’s man isn’t in the picture. Both of them claim that they don’t need her help, and leave her flat.
Do Hee is walking back with groceries with her son and they are nearly hit by a motor bike. A lady they know runs after it, and it is I believe a neighborhood friend. I think they tried to snatch her purse and failed, and she got scrapped up. Do Hee and her son are worried and she reassures them she’s fine, but Do Hee insists on cleaning up her wound. They walk back and joke around together.
Yo Won goes shopping later that night and runs into her husband and Soo Gyum, who are also shopping. They meet other elite women and they ask who Soo Gyum is. The husband proudly announces that it’s his son, and the women looked dismayed at Yo Won before quickly excusing themselves. When Yo Won tries to leave, her husband tells her to take Soo Gyum back while putting him in the car. She dislikes the idea so much she walks away from her own car.
We cut to witness firsthand the abuse of Mi Sook’s drunk husband. She tries to calm him down as he makes a mess and beats her. Eventually, he tires himself out and passes out on the couch. Once he falls asleep, Mi Sook tries to clean the mess as quickly as possible, unfortunately, not quick enough for her daughter to come in. Her daughter shuts herself in her room and does come out to listen to her mother. However, she doesn’t seem to care for her mother’s apologies and shuts her out.
Mi Sook then goes to visit her mother (who is in hospital care) and enjoyed spending time with her. You really see how Mi Sook’s mother is the only person she can turn to and relax with, and she can’t even tell her what her home life is really like.
We then cut back to school, and see Do Hee’s son taking out the trash. He is taunted by the bully and his gang (which Mi Sook’s daughter is a part of but not actively) leading to him chasing after them. He trips over the trash and knocks out. They all run away, Mi Sook’s daughter is dragged away, and Soo Gyum walks in as they run away. He is the one to help Do Hee’s son.
Do Hee meets her son in the hospital and he assures her that he is fine; not that she believes him though. However, she doesn’t ask any questions. The neighborhood gal comes in, checks out his wounds and hit him asking how he could be so reckless.
I believe the same bully’s mother called when they were in the hospital and tells her to keep quiet about what happened. The other mother laughs at her anger and hangs up on her after finishing what she has to say. I think that the mother was asking her to either keep quiet or for money unless she wants rumors spread about her son.
Mi Sook and Do Hee meet in the hospital and talk with one another. They both talk about their struggles a bit, and I honestly think this is the motivator to actually agree to the ‘club invitation’.
Mi Sook goes home and looks around her own home aimlessly. We see the first time that we meet Mi Sook that she is a perfectionist and hates to see things dirty. Well, she decides to clean the house, and while doing so she finds a family portrait… Broken. In it, we see her and her husband, along with a daughter and a… son??? I believe that something happened to the son?
Yo Won watches as her baby room stuff is hauled away, and receives a call from the other two women agreeing to her invitation.
It is a raining day and all three women meet one another again at the same location that they first met.
“Now then, let’s start.”
Now this is all I could gather from watching it without subtitles. If anyone has watched this series and knows what is going on, please tell me whether I am on the right track or not. It was fun to write out what I think is going on and I think it is a good practice for me. It forces me to hold myself accountable to practicing every now and again, so I hope to be way more active on this blog.
If you read all this nonsense, thanks so much and make sure you make yourself a lovely day.

hey babes !! i'm kat and i forgot.. that today was thursday, hence my acct being so late, work's rly playing mind games with me kjdlsfj. anyways, i'd make this super long and unnecessary like i normally do but im at work atm so i'm gonna make this quick. if you wanna plot, im me and feel free to ask for my discord, i prefer that over tumblr tbh ! so here's my rly.. weird bio for yeseul, hopefully you don't cringe like i still do but no promises lmao
{ aphrodite – park chaeyoung } did you see NAM YESEUL walk into the sorority house ? i heard the TWENTY-TWO year old SENIOR is known to be EBULLIENT & METICULOUS. but in the hallways, SHE is infamous for their TEMERARIOUS & DECADENT behaviour. one thing is sure, the SOCIOLOGY major is perfect for pennbrooke.
yeseul was born to her securities analyst father and secretary mother on the twenty-fourth of july, 1995. the youngest of two with an older brother two years her senior, she would live a fairly normal childhood in their three bedroom apartment in a high-rise uptown — taking on an admiration for the colour blue and puppies with luscious white fur long before plants, butter cream frosting and egyptian cotton sheets were to stand alongside them.
a maternal aunt had been the kids’ guardian while their parents worked during the day and early evening, suppers and bedtimes perhaps the most time they’d spend together on a given day, though that did not take away from seulie’s idolization of her eomma and appa. because efforts were always made to connect with their children, the occasional weekend outing an apology for their late hours and almost constant exhaustion.
she began her years of education in a uniform with a black sweater and skirt and a periwinkle button-up, a ribbon tying her bangs back subsequently matching the latter. eager to learn and meet new people, her first day of school was invigorating for her five year old self, which would remain constant as the years went by.
her parents had a happy marriage, which continues now, and are the source of seulie’s dreams for a relationship in the future. in fact, it was due to their strong relationship that upon her husband being offered a higher position in the korean-based company he worked for at their branch in san francisco’s financial district, her mother was the first to suggest moving - completely ecstatic in the matter - which led to the nams leaving ulsan for america when she was thirteen years old.
luckily, her parents enrolled both her and her brother in a school with a program for international students with little knowledge of english. while they understood the language quite well all things considered — perhaps from watching popular american shows while growing up — yeseul and taeil spoke it minimally.
thus the younger would end up spending an extra year in the program at her own accord, wishing to become more knowledgeable before being thrown into high school, entering at fifteen years old as opposed to fourteen.
she found the institution to be more complex than she would have preferred; while courses such as biology and pre-calculus were not troubling, she faltered in english and american history, albeit due to circumstance. so she was quiet and focused, it felt as though it was all that she really could be in this situation and it soon became her high school persona.
her brother often played protector when she was a child, from the rude upperclassman who shoved her off of their swing to the boy next door who laughed at her sobs upon falling off of her bike and skinning her knee on the sidewalk. she never asked that of him, he never made a vow to do so; it was merely an unspoken dynamic that remained even when her first girlfriend broke her heart by stringing her and her best friend along in junior year, remembering vividly taeil’s venomous words being spewed in the hallway of an acquaintance’s house party.
a girl as plush as the throw pillows on her double sized mattress, a slight evolution took charge as she transitioned into adulthood. with her kindness not being thwarted, she felt as though the dissolution of her naiveté, of her careful approach to much of the world around her, was necessary. these things do not happen overnight, as she had come to realize while standing in the middle of a friend’s older brother’s house party. any boldness that she had while standing on the doorstep dissipated at the sight of college kids all but forced to press against one another in the living room that reeked of pot, unintentionally listening to barely audible moans beneath the loud music that came from an unguarded upstairs bedroom. thus, after a couple of months of pushing her own boundaries — frequenting keggers with friends and the like — even seulie noticed that she had eased into a more outgoing and adventurous persona. she allowed most of her inhibitions to crumble and her confidence to grow, seemingly proud of the shift and rightfully so.
commencing her four year attendance at pennbrooke — far from the familiar alleyways of san francisco — she was determined to be one of the few who sail through university without the burden of uncertainty weighing them down. from a young age, she had an interest in both the humanities and science, a curious child endlessly fascinated by fiction and fact, the reasons for human behaviour and for life itself. thus this led to her proficiency in such subjects, in combination with being a high achiever it resulted in obtaining excellent grades in those courses.
this would edge her in the direction of longing to understand society and those suffering within it. uncovering varying family and sexual dynamics in, as well as values specific to, all cultures intrigued her, so much so that she often found herself reading journals about such topics when her homework for the next morning had since been completed.
she eventually came to the conclusion that garnering a knowledge in the differences of individuals and society’s effect on and reaction to them was something she wished to endure, especially if it helped people like her; perhaps she wasn’t an immigrant in the way that many others were, with her father having moved to america — and the family following — for an already acquired position in his company, however she still reaped the benefits of some narrow-minded individuals mocking her slight accent or much worse. her identity was split in two to accommodate her past in ulsan and her present and future in san francisco, and yet she felt a disconnect on both ends — knowing she’d be rejected by some of her beloved elders in her hometown for not following a more traditional and exclusive set of values, while either not being enough of or being too much of a stereotype to fellow classmates. it was for those reasons primarily that she wanted to study sociology, specifically social inequalities, and to hopefully pursue a career in such.
college was what she would consider her sexual liberation, much like other students. where high school was pivotal for first loves and long lasting friendships, post-secondary was a hub for flings and fleeting emotional attachments. of course, this was ideal for a girl who wished to invest in a relationship when it felt right, as though it would not simply be for someone’s thrill of the chase or in conjunction with half-assed efforts in building upon a connection. and with her ability to separate sex from love — unless the latter arose somewhere down the line organically — it didn’t take her long to dive into the realm of meaningless hookups in the winter semester of freshman year and subsequently deal with their aftermath. she had never intended to sink her proverbial claws into the soft skin of her lovers and lead them along, however such would often be the outcome and by the end of her sophomore year, she’d come to accept that — even embrace it. now her reputation is more than confusing to some, the laidback and seemingly kind-hearted girl seducing others only to lead them astray being a little farfetched. maybe it was the new role to assume that lessened the guilt over time, an unexplored dynamic that made her more than comfortable with the slight burden she had to bare to continue her escapades.
currently she embodies a charisma chocked full of sincerity and gentle bluntness, while teasing friends and hookups alike in various ways. she’s able to remain calm and collected in conflict, though she may become defensive if it involves her loved ones or if it’s courtesy of someone who disrespects her or another’s boundaries. in moments of stress, she is actively trying to stay calm if it warrants such a response, in her eyes; for instance, a short deadline for a research paper or the disappearance of her mother’s engagement ring would lead to those attempts.
she considers the temptress within to be an alter ego as opposed to a variation of herself; where she normally attempts to think decisions through, she is impulsive and tactless under these circumstances, prioritizing her own pleasure and desires above all else.
she loves love, hence why she wishes to pursue such a thing after college, when people tend to take it more seriously. it doesn’t hinder her from helping her friends, more than willing to find suitable partners for them, however she’s quick to talk them out of it if it seems like a mistake that will only hurt them in the end.
seulie enjoys compliments, giving and receiving them, however she is often quick to deflect most of the latter. she doesn’t seek praise only to respond in a false humble manner, but simply to know if she’s doing something correctly or if it’s appreciated by others; thus if one compliments her on perhaps her beauty, she tends to insist otherwise — at least initially.
she despises individuals who don’t respect boundaries, and due to fragments of her sex life spilling from the lips of some past lovers, she often attracts such people and has no qualms about putting them in their place. she also dislikes avocados, soap operas and birkenstocks - she simply doesn’t understand their appeal - as well as dismissive, argumentative and/or obnoxious people.
