Ahsoka's place in SW can be a complicated thing, because I feel both things about her--I too am often frustrated by how Filoni writes her, but I too am also grateful that her character exists and isn't the "default" straight white cis dude character. (Though, I do wish she were played by someone other than RD because of All That.)
Ahsoka got so much flak when she first appeared, people hated her just for existing, for daring to take up any space in the Star Wars story, and then she swung around to being nearly put on a pedestal by a large chunk of the fandom, she was lionized pretty heavily in some corners, and I think we're now going through the further growing pains of backlash against the hype, especially because Ahsoka is in the position of often being used as a bludgeon against the Jedi.
To be honest, I don't see nearly as much criticism of Ahsoka's character as I do for other popular characters, I see far more of Obi-Wan and Anakin and Yoda, but maybe that's just the sphere of experience I have, but I see that criticism balanced out with a ton of fic, art, and positive commentary about her. And it makes me wonder if she's in that awkward spot of not quite as central to the story as the movie characters, but more important than almost any other SW character (in the sense of any one character ever being able to be more "important" than another, you know what I mean) where we haven't quite settled into a stable balance of how to approach her character.
So, she's high level enough now that she can take some people being critical of her character or even just flat-out not being kind to her, because she has so much support from the story itself and from all across the fandom, even as honestly I haven't seen much that's been notably mean to her character. Sure, I see a few posts talking about how Ahsoka is Filoni's Blorbo, but are they truly more common than the posts that are celebrating her character? Genuinely wondering, because that hasn't been my experience. (Honestly, I would say Qui-Gon fans have it worse, given that he's another of Filoni's Blorbos, just without the added bonus of actually having anything fun to counter balance it, where even the people who say he was a True Jedi don't really care about Qui-Gon, you know? There's no skits, no commentary, etc. Just a handful of fic authors who are quietly doing their own thing and being the good in the world they want to see.)
At the same time, I get what you're feeling, that it feels uncomfortable to be critical of a female character, especially one who is played by a WOC, especially in a fandom that is pretty fucking vicious towards female characters having anything to actually do in the story. That the criticism of Ahsoka's character/status as Filoni's Blorbo isn't always fair or considerate, because people are frustrated and SW fandom wears all our nerves down to the last.
I'm not really sure where I land with all of this, because I get both sides, the frustration and the affection both, and I think there needs to be space for both in fandom just because we can't police other people's reactions to stuff. It's hard to continue liking her when she's being pitted against your faves, it's hard to be kind to Jedi fans when they're frustrated because she's being used as a bludgeon against their faves, it's hard to just walk away from people ignoring that Ahsoka is really meaningful to a lot of people because she's a non-romance-focused female character coded as/played by a woman of color, it's hard not to feel like Ahsoka's such a popular character that she can take a few people on tumblr not liking her.
My best advice is to just keep loving Ahsoka in the way that you think will attract the other friends you want to have around you--like, for me, when I talk about Anakin, I often try to do so in a way that's affectionate towards him and the Jedi, how much they loved him and how much I think he loved them in returned, because that's who I want to gravitate towards in fandom, those who like both. I try to do the same with Qui-Gon now and again, when I start getting frustrated by how he's used to bludgeon the Jedi, I start going HEY GUESS WHAT I'M EMOTIONS ABOUT HOW MUCH QUI-GON LOVED HIS JEDI FAMILY and it makes me feel better! I would love to see more people do the same with Ahsoka! Prop her up by appealing to how much she loves other characters, too! Like, every time I get frustrated at the way some of fandom treats her, I remember SHE WANTED TO GO BACK TO THE JEDI, SHE LOVED THEM, and I'm like THAT IS MY GIRL I LOVE HER SO MUCH SHE IS SO BRAVE TO STRUGGLE THROUGH ALL THIS AND STILL FIND THE LOVE IN HER HEART.
Or sometimes, like with Bo-Katan, I like to lean into them being a hot mess because yessssssss I love a hot mess of a lady because I am a hot mess of a lady and Felt That. I hope Ahsoka gets to be all kinds of deliciously fucked up in her series and making mistakes and learning and being interesting and working her way back to the surface from her own depths because she is SUCH a strong character and deserves to be crunchy as hell/have bite as a character, like HOW MANY YEARS did she stew in her guilt about Anakin, refusing to let it go? How long did she hold onto that fear, so much that even the Force had to smack her in the face to try to make her let it go on Lothal? GIRL, I AM CRYING FOR YOU, YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH SO MUCH, LET ME GET YOU SOME SOUP AND I HOPE THE FORCE-GHOSTS ALL COME BOTHER YOU TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE EATING ENOUGH, because I love a character that has bite.
This kind of got away from me, but that's usually where I end up when trying to wrap my head around the frustration of a character's place in fandom. I get why people are frustrated with the way Filoni writes her, but also the frustration of feeling like the important representation of her character sometimes gets lost in the shuffle, that both sides have validity, and my best way out of this is to double down on loving everyone in this bar.

Things about Cinderella's Castle I'm excited about already as a big Cinderella fan
Tumblr media
THE PUPPETS!!! I love puppets and I love seeing puppetry get used more and more—it's such an underrated art form! And the puppet models look stellar!
I love the idea of the step-family being trolls. I was wonder if they were always trolls or if they got sort of cursed. But Step-Mom flays women and wears their skin to fool everyone??? Very Grimms Bros style, I love it. I don't mind dark takes on Cinderella, so I'm intrigued. I wonder if that's why they're jealous of Ella, cause she's a normal human (supposedly), and so they try to demean her like a troll, to get her on their level or something.
With characters like Sir Hop-a-lot and Crumb, I'm curious what their role is. Are they Ella's animal friends that she gave goofy names? Sir Hop looks like he's a part of the royal court in some way, so does he somehow work for the prince? Will it be kind of like Wicked where the anthro-animals are a race amongst humans? Are they looked down on like the trolls? Is it fair that either group is looked down on?
CRUMB! Crumb is a perfect name for the mouse! I'm shocked I've never heard of a mouse named Crumb before.
I've talked before about how I see the early Disney princes as symbols of their princesses' freedom rather than characters and that's why they're "flat". I like that the prince in this show sounds like a parody of that. Like, "What if that flat 'character' was treated like a real character, but still with a similar flatness to him?" I like it. I trust Starkid to do that well.
I'm currently theorizing that Kim's Fairy Queen character will be a combo of sleeping beauty and the fairy godmother, based on her description in the 4/6 live stream and description of the video announcement saying "Kim will awaken the Fairy Queen from her slumbering prison in the realm of death". I don't even know if they'll implement other fairytales into this particular show, but I'm excited.
I love the possibility of a fairytale multiverse from Starkid. Hope that happens one way or another.
WOC CINDY! WOC CINDY! WOC CINDY!
I'm hoping for sapphic Cindy too, Mariah's comment got my hopes up. I'm trying not to get too attached to that idea, but as a lesbian woc that would kill me to see. Correct me if I'm wrong, but SK hasn't had a main queer couple since Firebringer, so it'd be cool to get for me, especially since Cinderella's my favorite fairytale and theater is one of my favorite mediums to consume stories with.
I've seen people theorize that the song in all the trailers is from a bard's perspective. I get that vibe too.
I know I sound like a 5-year-old, BUT I'M SO EXCITED TO SEE WHAT THE BALL GOWN WILL LOOK LIKE! The cover of the 4/6 livestream seemed to give us a slight taste of it. This gold and purple ensemble maybe. Purple is typically the color of royalty, so I love the idea of incorporating it in Ella's dress. And I like the use of rhinestones in her makeup. I wonder how they'll do the dress transformation if they do it. I actually hope we don't see it in its entirety till the show is on stage; I don't want the reveal spoiled.
One thing about Cinderella that's very important to me is the abuse aspect of the tale. Depending on how similar this show is to the traditional version of the tale, I hope it's not ignored. I'm pretty sure it won't be.
EDIT: I made another list of things after the 4/13 livestream

Too tired to do art in addition to this, but here's some more content for that My Little Pony styled Dusty and his universe:
He earned his cutie mark (the blue lightning bolt) via a competition he was a part of as a young colt at a town fairgrounds. It was sort of a cross-country competition, with a lot of extra elements in it (think like the big race of the Sisterhooves Social) and he earned it in the last leg of the race, running for all the stamina he had left in him and lunging the last several feet past the finish line. He came in third, but his efforts did grant him that visual mark of his destiny, to race and compete (though at the time, he didn't quite know to what extent that would go...)
He found work instead, plowing corn fields around Propwash Junction, much to his dismay. Though the old geezer who'd been plowing those fields the decades prior had been a family friend in need of another set of hooves and a strong, sturdy back to break under a yoke and plow. Dusty felt he at least owed him for selling him a place to live in town while he worked.
Part of what allowed him to get to compete in the qualifiers for the WatG rally (it might have another name by the time I get through world building but I'll save you the over-complications) is that he, along with the helpful hooves of Chug, Sparky, and Dottie, has a pair of canvas-and-wood 'wings' that he uses to fly. It's not the *most* stable or efficient way of flying, and it grants him no other favors (like needing parts adjusted or fixed, and not being able to land on clouds or do really anything small that pegasi could do without thinking about) but it does get the job done. Enough that he is cleared to compete!
I haven't set anything in stone yet for who will be what species, but I do have a few ideas bouncing around in me noggin. One of these is that I kinda wanna make Ripslinger a griffin just for funsies. Really taking a few pages outta Gilda's scenes in the show to slap on that egotistical green guy.
It's also kinda a given that most, if not all forklifts/tugs that exist in the WoC would translate into unicorns. Though I don't want to be *too* clear cut on who translates into who, I really just wanna let the character's behaviours shape what kind of species they'd end up being.
That being said, this also means a LOT of characters are still in the phase of figuring out what they are. I like the idea of making Blade and other Piston Peak members another string of weird species, but I haven't settled yet on anything, other than making Cabbie (and likely the Smokejumpers) species of dragons. But I DO have other specimens to toy with, like hippogriffs and kirins...
And on that note, I'm also not going to try to force myself to fit into a specific MLP universe timeline, either. The majority of the characters and world will be based on gen 4's universe, but it may not be entirely "exact" to it, or in the same time period as where the show occurs. It's mainly the Planes story, as told through the universal rules and concepts of gen 4 My Little Pony. Because fuck you, I am having a week of regression and I cannot be stopped.

Hi, I know this is long but I wanted to talk about this, cause I don't think I can on my personal account. Reading everything about the POTO author is very disappointing to me. I read the first book and looked forward to the sequel. I did have some qualms about the two characters of color and I was concerned in how one of them perpetuates the "Woc is only there as support for their white friend" trope, but I was hoping this would get improved with the sequel. As I've been going through the sequel though, more of my concerns are being validated. There's frequent use of slurs regarding mixed-race people and said character is still only used as character development for Christine. Also, despite the author claiming they created Christine to be relatable to all people, its very hard to imagine her as anything but white/white passing when confirmed characters of color in the series are constantly degraded and dismissed for being Brown and Black. Now reading all the history regarding the author, I'm not surprised the characters of color are being treated this way. As a Black phan that loves Phantom immensely, it's sometimes hard being in this space and even being an e/c shipper when a lot of the aesthetics in this franchise are focused on whiteness and associating it with purity and good. While this series alone has its issue, I do think its important to note that a lot of Phantom work has issues regarding race whether its stereotyping (Kay) or erasure (ALW) so its a little unfair to single out this one creator. However, maybe this could be a good opportunity in analyzing the racial issues regarding this franchise as a whole! I'm genuinely thinking of writing my own version of POTO with e/c being poc because it's a perspective not explored yet
Thanks for listening! Love your account!
I don't necessarily feel it's unfair but she's also not being singled out for her racism in a phantom work but rather the fact that she's not only racist but a serious bully and is continuing both of these behaviors using her work and her platform. Race is definitely a phandom issue, but it's not the only issue with this particular author. Not to take away from anything you said though- you're absolutely valid in your assessment of the phandom.
The fascination with Kay has always bothered me- I could never get into it because of the problematic elements, but it's still something you have to be aware of when navigating the phandom because it's so popular. I actually think it's quite funny because this author dislikes Susan Kay but they're extremely similar- Older women clearly horny for the phantom and clearly writing with ALW in mind claiming to be adding on to Leroux but just making a mediocre book that doesn't fit in his canon at all with some added racism for good measure.
And yeah, her Christine sounds lifted out of ALW, and honestly, so does the phantom, since she still gave him a white mask. She also seemed to argue that Christine should be a brunette in the show because it looks better on women of color over blonde and that didn't sit right with me. Women of color with dark hair keep the "Christine look" according to her.
I'm disappointed but not surprised that the second book has the same issues. It's such an unnecessary thing to add to a phantom story. Meanwhile she had a video a while back essentially bragging about adding pocs and queer characters to her story like she's making strides for representation.
I do hope you write your poc phantom. Our phandom does need more representation, but it needs to come from the right place. You might also enjoy Music of the Night by Angela Ford. I haven't read it(yet), but I was told that Christine is black and the cover art supports this. But I don't think I've seen one where Erik and Christine both are poc.
Thank you for voicing your thoughts and please let me know if you write that story <3

𝐆𝐎𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐍 𝐁𝐎𝐘, 𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒
hayden (harvard hottie) x woc!reader
summary: you and your golden boy have an eventful date in new york city.
warnings: tooth rotting fluff, lots of flirting
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
three knocks could be heard from the front door of your tiny apartment, once the door was opened, it revealed a shy hayden with orange flowers wrapped in newspaper, his cheeks rosy crescents and his neptune eyes caught the galaxies behind yours, as if the lonesome, cold planet has finally found his home.
"hi pretty boy." you gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek while he carefully placed his hands on your sides.
"hi, i picked them especially for you." he handed you the flowers as his strawberry lips curled into a small smile, and god how badly you wanted to kiss them.
"you shouldn't have." you took the flowers from him and placed them in a small vase filled with water, "thank you pretty boy."
"so, shall we go?" he lend you his arm and off you went.
your first stop was the metropolitan museum of arts. the wide halls of the museum were filled with majestic sculptures of gods and goddesses of myths and tales. if you weren't in your right mind, you would've mistaken harvard's golden boy as one.
hayden guides you by the hand as you both wander the vermilion corridors, hopelessly lost in the labyrinth of exhibits and galleries.
"do you think we'll end up like them? hung up in a museum while people share our tales and admire our bodies?" your playful question let a chuckle out of your pretty boy.
"hmmm, why not? i know for a fact that you will be so admired, aphrodite, athena and artemis merged into one person." his strawberry lips were caught between his crystal teeth as he eyed your figure.
"whatever you say, pretty boy." the petname that rolled out of your mouth like red liquor made him want to nuzzle his face in the crook of your neck and stay there forever.
in the fuzzy euphoria of rushing feet, hushed giggles and effervescent laughter, lingering touches and stares that made their skins jump, you and hayden shared the love of knowledge through arts.
painting that held meanings with every flow of their brushes, paintings that held history within their frames.
as you both left the halls of the met, your fingers intertwined and bodies stuck together like metal and magnet. you looked up at hayden's face which was covered in copper constellations, if you you had all the time in the world, you'd kiss each and every one of them, then write the story behind them.
"will we ever make it to the louvre?" your left cheek was resting on hayden's shoulder, your fingers drawing figure circles on his hand.
"i'll show you the world, pretty girl, and i'll let the world see you." he placed a sloppy kiss on your temple. you perked your face up at him, and placed a passionate kiss on his feverish lips, which he gladly returned by holding your head closer.
the kiss was needy, loving, and longing. you felt shooting stars in your stomach, rare but so unique. the universe was spiraling into a never ending loop that you felt every jiffy of.
"love is pain in disguise, a scorpion lying in wait for the right moment, to strike inject you with its poison before scuttling off into the shadows.
and i know that I'll gladly follow you into the shadows." your fingers caressed his face before trailing his abdomen and drawing circles there, a habit anxiousness has created for you.
"and i know for a fact that I'll never scuttle off to the shadows without you, you have bewitched my soul to never leave yours." he held you close like you were his final resort, and kissed away your pains once more.
"so, you're still in for pizza in harlem?" his playful tone returned, causing you to blurt out a giggle.
"of course, pretty boy."

do you have a favorite oc or one you relate to the most? :)
Thank you for the ask anon! You probably were not expecting this, but I actually have a MASSIVE catalogue of OCs. Tumblr allows 10 images so that's what I narrowed it down to. All images are labeled for the creator, but the characters belong to me.
OK! First up is my most well known OC. I made Sabine for my Alone Wolf Hellsing AU. If you've read the first story, then you know that she (spoiler) didn't make it to the end. I grew to love the character so much and the demand was so high that I started an alt end AU for my AU. If that isn't love then I don't know what is. Her son, Barrett hasn't been born yet in the story (new chapter is coming I promise) but I have big plans for him.
Tumblr media
*art for an ask created by @crooked-incisors*
Next up is my cyberpunk cyborg Kade Pax. I just love their personality and design so much. Their story is tragic but has a happy end. I think. I really relate to Kade because of I also suffer body dysmorphic disorder
Tumblr media
*ref by crooked for our closed universe*
Marianne Dubois is my plus sized, French Canadian final girl. I plan to write her story 'Road Kill' once I finish my Alone Wolf sequels.
Tumblr media
*The art is mine. Slasher BF Steven Locke belongs to crooked*
Next up is another pair for the Slasher fandom. Flora and Veronica Galindo are WOC slasher twins. Flora is evil and manipulates Vero in the worst ways. I have a story for them that I would also like to write one day.
Tumblr media
*art by crooked for our closed AU where they both get a happy ending*
Tumblr media
*design of Veronica's Slasher look, Santa Muerte. Old art created by me*
One last OC from the closed universe I share with crooked (even though all of them are my favorite) My little yandere bimbo Bambi Dearie. She has... quite an interesting story.
Tumblr media
*art by crooked*
OK! Now on to my Harem OC. Vral, Scourge of Delano is a savage hare barbarian. He's interested in fighting and fucking and not much else honestly.
Tumblr media
*ref by crooked*
Bring in the clowns!
Mad Mage Meddle started a Kings of the Wild OC. It's a great book and everyone who likes fantasy should give it a read. I've considered using him for DnD, but since he's a chaotic evil user of body transformation magic that makes it a little difficult. Honestly I could go on about him so if anyone is curious shoot me an ask!
Tumblr media
*commission*
Delilah the deadite clown is a very special OC for me. She was the first one I ever created way back in July of 2018. Happy Birthday!
Tumblr media
*commission*
Last, I have Paisley. She was never going to be an OC. I actually just picked a name for a reader x fic that involved clowns, but crooked asked for details and thus Paisley was designed. She is very near and dear to my heart because of what she brought into my life ❤️
Tumblr media
*commission*
And that's it! Honestly, I had a hard time narrowing down the list. I put a lot of care and pieces of myself into each and every OC I design. In a way they are all my faves 😅

Character Model Art for my WoC/TOH Au!
After doing character model designs for Holley, I went ahead and did some for Dusty who in this Au is standing for Amity! This was my favorite set of designs that I have done so far!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This design is when we are first properly introduced to Dusty! He has brown hair with Orange Hair stripes on the side and he is a student in the beast keeping track!
This is Dusty’s casual outfit that he wears out of school!
This third outfit is his winter coat!
Dusty’s grom outfit! I took a bit of inspiration from @aurora-ze-aquarius from an edit they showed me once!
From the episode “Wing It Like Witches”, this outfit is from a flashback of when Dusty was the Grudgby Team Captain
Coming from the same episode, this is his grudgby uniform!
This is Dusty with his orange hair in his casual outfit! This moment started from the episode “Through the Looking-Glass Ruins” in season 2 when in the show Amity chose to have her hair a different color! For this Au, Dusty chose to get his natural hair color back after having it be dyed brown for a few years thanks to his Uncle. Getting his natural hair color back is the start of a real development and self reflection for himself! @aurora-ze-aquarius helped with figuring this out!
This outfit is from the episode “Eclipse Lake”! There’s not much to say!
This is Dusty in his Hexside Uniform with his natural hair!
This and 11 were my favorite designs but let me explain this one! This is to be used in the episode “Reaching Out”, when in the show Amity receives the concealment stones and she got her new outfit! If you can’t tell I took inspiration for this design! Something I wanted to keep was the Glasses and the Hair bun so I kept it there! This disguise is meant to hide Dusty from people recognizing him so that explains the eyeliner added for this one! And the dress! With all the other outfits I chose to keep the fall colors for this one! I have a dress similar to the one Dusty is wearing so I chose to keep the color the same!
This is Dusty’s human disguise! Now you’ll notice a lot of difference compared to all the others! If you followed me for a while you’ll know I Stan with the headcanon I have for Dusty being trans ftm and that still stand and I wanted to incorporate it here! To hide his ears, he had his hair grow out, and there are 4 tusks on the left side instead of 3 this time! His shoulders are hanging on the sides and it shows his binder straps! And the shape of clothing and other small details shows that during his time in the human realm, he trusts everyone to completely be him around others! And if you zoom into the art for this design, you’ll notice an earring with a shooting star, if you look close enough, you’ll notice the trans colors included in the earring!! Also this is the last design I’ll make for him until we get the next episode of TOH!
I really hope you like these designs and I have more coming for other characters!
Any questions about this Au, Ask Box is always open!

Genya, Zoya, Seras, Walter, Anderson, Elizabeth (Black Butler) for the character bingo
Genya:
Tumblr media
I love her! I did not enjoy her with David though? And I’m still just really iffy on the torture and disfigurement plot point.
Zoya:
Tumblr media
Zoya my beloved 💖💖 Unfortunately I think she was fairly unevenly written. I really liked her in the OG trilogy but I think KoS kind of just shoved her into the role of an Alina 2.0?
Also, personally as a mixed MENA and South Asian person, I find the way Bardugo handled her ethnicity off putting. Five books in we learn she’s actually a WOC, then in the sixth book it’s like TO BE CLEAR she’s high key white passing. Meanwhile all the official art has her be very visibly brown? Like idk it just feels a little slimy to get credit for the rep while trying to keep the character as white as possible.
Seras:
Tumblr media
So she’s a character that really grew on me? I was annoyed with how she was handled in the OVA but idk I like her a lot!
It frustrates me a lot that despite being the everyman perspective we never see her really grappling with anything? Like she finds out that the government is a sham; that vampires not only exist but that she’s been kidnapped and turned into one; and even later on that perhaps she didn’t need to be turned because Alucard is so fucking OP he could have easily just saved her and kept her human. Seras never really reacts to anything. And that used to drive me insane but I’m okay with it at this point lol. What does exist of her characterization is very interesting though.
Walter:
Tumblr media
Walter is so interesting!! WHY did he do the thing?? We’ll never know! I have so many opinions on it! Just so much to talk about but also fuck him lol
Anderson:
Tumblr media
Faith driven characters like Anderson are just endlessly fascinating to me. I get the impression that he would have been perfectly happy to just dedicate his life to raising kids at the orphanage? And yet…
Also forever losing it at how he decides to go full suicidal plant monster, and wishes to have never felt emotions at all, after killing Maxwell. That was his son 😭
Idk I just think he’s very tragic! And his perspective is verrry fascinating to me.
Lizzie:
Tumblr media
She’s awesome! Gets way too much hate in the fandom, and is honestly too sidelined by the story as well. Her turmoil over realizing that Ciel had been lying to her all along instantly made her 200% more interesting to me. And I’m like disappointed but not surprised that people latched onto her realizing— in horror— that she probably wouldn’t have been as happy to know that The Nameless Twin had survived vs Real!Ciel who was her fiancé to like paint her as an evil character lmfao. Like obviously you’re going to grieve the person you’re closest to more? And o!Ciel has lied to her so fucking much, of course she’s mistrustful of and angry at him! That was a pretty grave betrayal guys!
Send me a character and I’ll do a bingo board for them!

Ex Boyfriend
Tumblr media
pairings: druig x woc!reader
summary: when your ex boyfriend wants to be your next boyfriend
warnings: not edited, jealousy, possession, mind control sex, public sex, oral (fem)
word count: 1.4k
it’s been a been a while since you’ve been on a date. after your previous relationship you decided you wanted a break from dating, a break from men. but there was a guy you met, he was really charming and he made you smile. you met him at a grocery store when you accidentally ran over the back of his ankles. you felt bad of course but also, he shouldn’t have been in the way. which you pointed out jokingly and as an apology on his behalf he asked you on a date.
he was already matching your energy at that point which was perfect. you didn’t met a lot of guys who matched your energy besides your ex. it also was nice that there was a new guy because he could show you around london for a bit. you’ve never been there before and since birth you’ve been confined to the tiny community in the amazon.
this wasn’t your first date, it was actually your fifth and you were really hoping he would make things official especially considering you both had already done couple stuff like making out.. and sex.
once your recent breakup happened you decided a new scenery was needed plus you enjoyed london, their accents are beautiful. different from your ex boyfriend. you didn’t hate your ex boyfriend per say, the breakup wasn’t bad.
you were just bitter because you thought that he was your soulmate and you foolishly believed that you’d be together.
“y/n” your date called your name. it shook you out of your thoughts, you looked up and smiled at him. luckily you were in a museum so you could pretend you were looking at one of the statues.
you really enjoyed museums and art in general, it was another one of the reasons why you chose to relocate to london because it having one of the best museums. at least, that’s what google says.
“yes” you looked up at him, he was so tall and muscular. you had a thing for muscular men you could say.
“i don’t want to freak you out but there’s a man staring at you” he said looking to his left, you followed his eyes and your heart sank.
druig
it was your ex boyfriend druig looking at you. at first you thought you were dreaming but clearly not because the guy you were on a date with pointed it out first. you had no idea why druig was here or what exactly he was doing here.
you literally never thought you’d see him again. he never left his community in the amazon, that’s why you left because you knew he wouldn’t follow you no matter how much he wanted to, and he didn’t. which made you more sad. every girl wanted their rom com moment, their grand gesture.
a man begging for your forgiveness and for you to take him back but druig hadn’t done that. another thing on your bitterness towards druig list.
“i know him” you rolled your eyes and sighed “he’s my ex boyfriend”
“oh” was all your date managed to say. druig walked towards you both, his hands behind his back, walking slowly towards you too. he was so damn dramatic
“hello, y/n” druig said and you could faint, you haven’t heard that accent in forever
“he’s irish?” your dare whispered “fuck, i cant compete with that”
“most cant” he said cockily
“don’t be an ass” you stated
“that used to be your favorite thing about me” druig smirked and tilted his head looking towards your date “who are you anyways”
“james, her date” james replied
“ah y/n’s date” druig replied not taking his eyes off you, and you didn’t take your eyes off him because you felt like he was challenging you.
“you know what? i’ll leave you two be” james said as he gave you a quick peck on the lips and walked away, you hoped he wasn’t going home because he was your only ride
“oh, so we’re at the kissing point” druig said referring to you and james, you didn’t respond, druig started to walk around you in circles, stopping behind you and pulling your hair a bit. he leaned against your ear and whispered “you still look good”
“what are you doing here” you asked trying to ignore him. he didn’t like being ignored which is why you did it.
“i came to visit a very old friend of mine” he still stood behind you, he stepped in front of you and started walking, signaling for you to follow him “what are you doing here”
“on a date, you know with my next boyfriend” you said as you entered a classroom, he closed the door and locked it which made you very suspicious of him
“i could be your next boyfriend” there was an obvious hint of jealousy in his voice
“you’re an ex for a reason” you said “you broke up with me remember”
“and i could be your next boyfriend” he almost basically ignored what you said. you rolled your eyes and walked over to the teachers desk, sitting on top of it with your hands clinching the edge. “you’re still mine”
he said gripping your chin and pulling it to look up at him. he smirked and leaned in closer to you, almost kissing you but not because he wanted you to kiss him first. which, you were not going to do. you weren’t going to open up your heart again, not just to be broken. have your heart broken twice by the same person? you weren’t that fucking stupid.
“i broke things off because i have been alive for 7000 years and you’re a human, i’m so in love with you that i couldn’t bare the idea of being without you at some point” druig whispered, his lips still inches away from yours, hands still on your chin “but i don’t care, i have to have you”
he couldn’t wait for you to kiss him first anymore, he had to taste you, he missed the feel of your lips against yours. he smashed his lips against yours and like clockwork you kissed him back. he placed his hands inbetween your legs. you had a dress on and no panties
“no panties?” druig asked “for him?”
he practically growled and you knew it was because he was jealous but after he felt how wet you were for him he no longer gave a shit about that other guy, whatever his name was, he was going to make you forget about him.
he got on to his knees and pulled you closer to the edge of the desk, you felt his breath against your clit as he spit on it, not that he needed to but because he remembered how messy you liked it. he began to suck on it, it immediately had you moaning like crazy.
he placed his middle finger and ring inside you, moving it back in forth while sucking on you and before you thought it couldn’t be any better he pressed his thumb against your asshole and that had you seeing stars, you were gripping so hard that you thought your knuckles could turn while.
“i’m going to cum” you said
“not yet” he replied quickly standing up and pushing his pants down after unbuckling them. his took his cock in his hand and placed it inside your already soaked pussy. he grabbed your neck pulling you closer as he pumped inside of you and placed his other hand in your mouth, making you suck your own juices.
“does he fuck you like this” he asked as he looked into your eyes, you couldn’t even talk you just shook your head. you knew no one could ever fuck you like this. he spread your legs more putting his hand back onto your clit as he thrusted inside of you, you were on the edge, literally and figuratively.
druig leaned to your ears, pressing his lips close groaning “i missed you so much”
“i’m going to cum” you finally moaned out.
“are you going to leave him” he asked, you could barely even think straight but you knew no one could make you feel like this. not even him.
“yes” you breathed out “do the thing”
it was your favorite thing that he did, he knew it and he loved how much you loved it.
“then come for me sweetheart” he said as his eyes glowed yellow, commanding you while kissing your earlobe as you finally released. he kept pumping for a few more minutes and finally released
“i missed you too, you know” you said responded to his comment he made a few moments
“call that pretty boy and let him know it’s over” he patted your thigh “you’re mine now, for good”
a/n lowkey inspired by this song

I think part of the reason that there’s such a dissonance between what kind of character Matthew is ~supposed~ to have and what kind of poor traits shine through, especially in his treatment of Alastair, is not just because of CC’s poor handling of alcoholism (and, in my opinion, mental health issues and depression) but also because: Our first introduction to these characters happened a long ways before some major changes to TLH.
Namely… Alastair and Cordelia were basically white in CC’s original planning. There’s just no way around that. Their flower cards, where they’re not just whitewashed but purely white, prove that (and they STILL haven’t been updated, by the way.)
Also, Alastair’s hair: in CoG it was dyed blond, and CC wrote it off implicitly as a racism thing when she decided he was Persian (which I guess happened after the short story where we met Alastair and before TLH) , which would have been fine it if it was an arc written better. Except, I don’t think she realized that it would make Matthew’s comments about Alastair inherently and obviously racist, being a white author. And I doubt that it will be dealt with and named or even acknowledged outright in the final TLH installment.
Kind of the same thing with Cordelia. I’m not saying POC can’t have like red hair because obviously POC don’t come in a prepackaged set of five or six traits that are all configured randomly, but something has always rubbed me the wrong way about the way that CC writes the majority of her POC and especially WOC as exotic. I mean, Kamala as a character is to me a special favorite (even though CC did her dirty and didn’t do a good job portraying her character or intersectional identity) but I rolled my eyes so hard when she had lighter brown or “amber” eyes in canon or officially commissioned art. With Cordelia, I know CC once said she uses henna to redden her hair which is great for her, and I guess I have less of a bone to pick with that because it’s semi(?) realistic, but still. Also the fact that so much of her description as a beautiful person comes from her hair. Again that’s cool, and women of color should be loved wholly including being loved for the parts of them that they freely change (such as Cordelia’s hair) but… the proportion of the fixation on her hair as what makes her lovely rubs me the wrong way sometimes. I feel like it’s sometimes an out from CC making the ~scandalous~ decision that a woman of color can be beautiful because of the traits she is born with. Idk it’s just for me I had this long standing repulsion towards my colorings and my facial structure and white girls would tell me I was whiny about it and then I finally began to piece together things like “Eurocentric beauty standards.”
Going on a tangent slightly, but something else that bothered me was when Anna insulted Cordelia after buying her those dresses and everyone kinda treating it as a compliment? And just cause Cordelia, a fictional teenager, didn’t get mad about it doesn’t mean readers of color can’t see the underlying racism behind “Cordelia looks MUCH better in these dresses which are SUITED for her skin tone.”
I think that narrative could have been handled much better: if it was Cordelia picking out her own clothes as an act of maturity and self-realization and ownership, if Cordelia herself said (in a different way lol) “Damn right I can wear lavender ruffles if I want to and crimp my hair but I’m not going to let white fashion prevent me from outshining everyone because dark skinned women INVENTED jewel tones.” And I think some people will argue that Cordelia’s context makes this too self aware of a development but I would say that it would have been a powerful part of her development outside of her relationships, especially considering that she’s supposed to be a main protagonist. Full arcs for the win baby!
But even aside from all that what bothered me about Anna’s dresses was the fact that it was a white woman showing the “truth” or the “right way” or “saving” a woman of color, a trope which I don’t think CC intended but committed nonetheless. I think from a white author POV the thinking was “Anna is such a free bohemian who lives true to herself and she’s going to help Cordelia become that way too,” which irks me because I feel like that just worked against CC in terms of POC rep and also because that same ideology is used in an attempt to make Anna’s treatment of Kamala justified even though Anna as an out person, with racial and economic privilege and the support of an extensive and powerful family network, pressured and tormented Kamala into coming out.
I have a lot of thoughts on that relationship, mainly: it shouldn’t have been dragged out this long because from the beginning, Every Exquisite Thing, it was clear they were looking for different things. And if CC had left it at that and let them go on their separate ways after a week of knowing each other that would have been fine: Kamala can’t do an out and proud relationship and Anna doesn’t want secrecy, so they’ll develop on their own. And then later Kamala’s pursuit of Anna in the actual TLH books was I think meant to be a thing about “the lengths you’ll go for true love” but it felt forced. Honestly… It just feels icky. like this woman of color is just so hung up on this white woman who abuses her repeatedly and can’t handle her own misogyny and internalizations. And I hate that because both had such awesome potential! To me it’s less that I dislike Anna ( I’d need a whole other post to explain that) and more that I dislike CC for wanting so bad to claim sapphic rep but not wanting to put in the effort to portray it effectively- and pretty much all that entails is writing the relationship without acting like it exists in a pseudo-vacuum where the history and realities of interracial relationships and queerphobia don’t exist in the way we obviously recognize and experience.
And characters like Cordelia and Alastair are amazing and have so much potential; I think the true origin of the problems with their portrayal is that they weren’t really intended as POC or even queer representation in the first place. I don’t know if Cassie would have taken a different approach to her characterization had she known Alastair would be a brown gay man when she first introduced him, but I hope it would have at least made her more conscientious of the inherent application of colonialism and racism in her storytelling from that point onward.
I want to finally add that I’m not saying any portrayal of racism is bad. I’m saying that the racism in the story is not part of a conscious framework that critiques racism appropriately. I think CC wrote the beginnings of the narrative, decided she was going to develop the diversity point content, and then either didn’t look back at the older content to analyze it and the other (white characters) through a new lens of race and outsiderness and queer personhood, or she looked at it and didn’t know what to do with it, or looked at it and didn’t care.
Sorry this got so long! Thanks for listening.
- A.
I feel like CC handled everything poorly in regards to characters who had a lot of potential.
The fact that Cordelia and Alastair are both originally white and it's so obvious in the way every bit of racism is handled by the characters. Matthew's comments in CLS are very important and they should've been handled with the same severity that Alastair's words were. CC changing the characters to POC was a big decision and when she did so she should've went back and actually read her own material. I can assure you that it will not be handled in CHOT, my expectations for CC recognizing the importance and gravity in the words she writes regarding racism or any of her "implied racism" bullshit have gone to the ground.
Because while golden eyes are obviously so easy to write when discussing discrimination obviously racism is out of the question /j
THAT'S EXACTLY IT, women of color in these books are so pathetically rare that on the rare occurrence that she does write them they should all be given these features that aren't as common in POC and written as more beautiful because of those features. I read CHOG after I became more appreciative of my ethnic features but if I had read this a year or so ago? Or even if I had read it after just feeling insecure in general? It would've been awful. The implication is that the lighter features in POC are the most beautiful, with Cordelia's red hair being put on a higher pedestal than her dark eyes and Kamala's eyes being focused on more than her hair (because I literally went back and counted the numbers to prove it and it's exactly what happens.)
I'm sure Cordelia's hair is stunning, but it's the way that when she's described (or more accurately being sexualized) it is just her hair and body that is shown, not the color of her skin or the color of her eyes.
God the pastel thing pisses me off so much. It's not even that Anna tells Cordelia that she would look better in darker colors it's that she says it suits her skin tone. Implying that anyone with brown skin should be barred from wearing pastels. And Kamala? In the few times she is described, she's wearing dark colors or champagne gold, never light blue or purple or pink WHICH HONESTLY SUITS HER PERSONALITY. It's also the way that the dresses Anna sent her are described to be more revealing- it's weird. Anna barely knew her when she started dictating everything that Cordelia could put on her body.
Damn right I can wear lavender ruffles if I want to and crimp my hair but I’m not going to let white fashion prevent me from outshining everyone because dark skinned women INVENTED jewel tones.”
I literally would have loved that. It recognizes that she doesn't need to follow these "rules" on what to wear but still shows her choosing what she wants to wear without making all the darker skinned readers feel like they can't wear a certain color.
I think what some people fail to realize is that these books are also aimed at upper elementary and middle school and a middle schooler with dark skin reading something like that? In a book with characters they love? It's going to be so harmful
Someone else mentioned that CC said Kamanna's relationship was complicated because Kamala didn't defend Anna: Defend her FROM WHAT? Literally what is there to threaten Anna?
These books are filled with tokenism and then praised for it. The idea of Kamala X Anna has so much potential but they're portrayed in such a toxic way. Throughout the last through books Kamala puts herself through so much guilt and regret and turmoil just for Anna to literally use her, blame her, and cast her aside. And it's so fucking annoying because it pushes this idea that this woman of color who was terrified and in an extremely vulnerable position is in the wrong for choosing her safety and presents them as guilty and shameful for doing such a thing.
I would disagree, the portrayal of racism is bad, because it is used at random points in the story and never brought up again, if you interduce racism take it seriously it's not the kind of thing you're meant to half-ass in a book thousands of people will read
I agree on everything else though, so much of these books are incredibly harmful and they are presented to a young audience so it's overall just a gross situation
Thank you for the ask though! I loved answering this, if you ever have anything else you're more than welcome to come back <3

Hey sorry to bother you but I wanted to ask if you could rec some good sources on learning more about Indian Culture/history/customs. Movies books anything really. I have looked online but well, I always take things on the internet with several grains of salt. And considering I know very little on it, I can't say how reliable the information is. I would like to incorporate elements of Kate being Indian when writing about Kate (and Kate and Anthony) going forward and I want to do it in as respectful and accurate a way as I can. For example, I had a thought of Anthony seeing Kate and her fam celebrate Holi and falling in love with how happy and carefree she is and brushing some paint off her cheek before she dunks some pigment onto him or something 1/2
But considering I've never celebrated Holi or seen it celebrated before I don't think I'd do a good job to write it... I know I get annoyed when people get the basic customs and traditions of my culture wrong. Anyway sorry for rambling TLDR: I would like to learn more about Indian culture and idk where to begin so I would be grateful for any direction you can point me at 2/2
so this has taken me a while to answer because i needed to find time to sit down, think about it and answer it properly. it might seem like a somewhat simple question, but to me, at least, it’s complicated? (i’m probably going to be going over stuff you probably already know, but i’m trying to answer in a complete way.)
i need to start off by saying that my family is from north india (gujarat specifically), and because of that, i have a certain level of privilege, including how north indians and north indian culture is portrayed in the media (obviously including bollywood). i mention this because simone ashley is south indian, specifically tamil, and there is so much prejudice against south indians in general, and this obviously extends to how they are depicted and how their culture is shown in various forms of media; colourism (which simone has spoken out about) is just the start of it. (also, as someone who is north indian, i’m not the best placed person to talk about the prejudice and discrimination faced by south indians.)
a big part of why desi fans are so excited about simone’s casting as kate is because she a dark-skinned woc, and typically, dark-skinned women aren’t cast as romantic leads, and they’re not cast in shows anyway, especially when compared to light-skinned woc. so the fact that she’s going to be a lead in one of the biggest shows on netflix is a big.fucking.deal. in addition, they changed her character’s surname from ‘sheffield’ to ‘sharma’, which on the surface seems like a great idea, but if you look a little deeper, there are so many problems to be found.
(this got long so continues below)
sharma is not a generic indian surname; it’s specifically a north indian hindu name, which throws up questions. is kate going to be a hindu on the show? does this mean her family is from north india?  are they going to talk about caste on the show because sharma is a brahmin surname? how are they going to explain kate being in england, and being out in society with the upper crust of the british aristocracy? (because of the time that bridgerton is set, and with them specifically setting up kate as indian, i honestly don’t know how they’re going to explain kate’s presence) i honestly think that the show didn’t think too deeply about it and they chose the name sharma because it starts with ‘sh’ and ~sounds indian. however, it’s thrown up so many questions that they can’t ignore, especially because they tried to explain race in the first season.
i talk about all this because you ask about holi, and incorporating elements of kate being indian when writing. and i’m not trying to be mean, but i would maybe hold off altogether? i need to point out that holi is a hindu festival, and is not specifically tied to being indian. i know i mentioned that sharma is a hindu surname, but we don’t even know if kate is going to be hindu, she may be a christian, or another religion or an atheist. also, because simone is tamil, they may decide to have kate be south indian despite the north indian origins of sharma, if they chose to address it at all. and depending on where in india you are from, and your religion, you will celebrate different festivals. even indians of the same religion celebrate different festivals, and some celebrate occasions at different times (e.g. gujaratis celebrate hindu new year the day after diwali. this isn’t the case for most other hindus. if we take holi, i know that it tends to be celebrated more in north india, and the image you describe isn’t necessarily universal).
there has been a lot in the tags regarding clothing, and seeing kate and her family wearing indian clothing, and while i get it, it makes me nervous. personally, i cannot wait to see kate in the same style of dresses that everyone else wore in season one. why? because seeing an indian woman in that period of dress is something i have been longing for. i don’t want to see an indian woman wearing a lengha or a sari or sabyasachi in that time period, i want to see her in a bonnet and empire waistline, because that is something we haven’t seen much of.
also, talking about seeing kate and her family wearing indian clothing has the potential to ‘other’ her, and tbh, can come across sometimes as fetishy, especially when you consider the time the story takes place in, and all the implications of colonialism. (there’s also the fact that unless the show has hired indian costume designers, it would be kinda gross for them to use any kind of indian clothing, and that includes adding elements to the era-typical dress that i’m hoping for.)
i’m going to be honest, i’ve seen pieces of fanart with kate wearing a sari and other indian clothing, while anthony has been in typical regency dress, and it makes me uncomfortable. it gives off coloniser vibes, and that’s a dynamic i have absolutely no interest in. there’s also the fact that i’ve seen art where simone as kate has been shown as light-skinned, to the point where she appears to be the same colour as anthony, and i mean, hello?!
full disclosure, i’ve made some posts regarding headcanons and music that i should have thought twice about. i’ve reblogged stuff that i should have thought more about before i did so. why? because they had overtones of north indian privilege, and/or orientalism. being indian (wherever in india that is) is part of someone’s identity, it’s not a gimmick to sprinkle onto things, and it’s not something to festishise, and i think, at least from what i’ve seen, that is the concern a lot of desi fans have, even if that’s not the intention of the original posters.
i realise i’ve gone on a seemingly massive tangent, but what i’m trying to say is, i don’t think there is a need to specifically reference kate being indian, especially when when writing canon-era fic, even more so when you consider we don’t know how the show is going to address it. now, i’m not saying i have faith in the show when it comes to kate and her ~indian surname, just that until we know how the show addresses it, i don’t see why it needs to be referred to? i understand why one might want to, but i just think there are waaay too many potential pitfalls, and the risk of coming across as orientalist/patronising/fetishy too high. some fans have fears when it comes to kate sharma and how she is presented, and for good reason.
sorry for not answering how you expected, and not giving you the resources you asked for (which, tbh, i’m not sure i would know where to start). i get what you were trying to ask, and i thank you for asking in the first place, but the question felt a little unfair tbh. but, i would encourage to read up on orientalism, also about the privilege that north indian hindus have, and honestly, the british colonisation of india.
ETA: i put this in the reblog but im going to add it here as well
also, something i forgot to add, even though i talk about north indians/north india and south indians/south india, it is obviously more complicated than that. there are many different states in india, and even then, different regions within those states will have different customs to each other. and then you have to factor in religion. likewise, there’s no one language that everyone in india speaks. basically, it’s not one universal culture that can be ‘boiled down to the essentials’.

And he is done! Behold! The USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) redesign! He looks miles better than his predecessor we don’t talk about...
Art Notes:
-The pose itself was thanks to an amazing reference drawing of the Kitty Hawk by an unknown artist, so huge credit to whoever did create that beautiful piece!
-I basically did the same to KH that I did to the Flysenhower when I did my attempt of him, so I have the blocky colors breaking up the shape of the flight deck. I also extended that to the rest of his features as well (the body itself, the runway markers, etc)
-Unlike the Flysenhower, I used a totally different thematic lighting for this, to give the illusion that KH is perhaps out on the foggy sea. It would be more ominous without his thousand watt smile.
-His hat was really the only piece of his real WoC design that I moved over, just to ensure we all know this is that guy. Funny enough, when side by side, his hat is bigger than the Flysenhower’s. He gets bragging rights.
-His eyes are like a coppery brownish hue? I think somebody said that they might be like green, but mostly for the sake of giving him a tad more difference than the Flysenhower, his eyes were made darker.
A Couple of Headcanons as well:
-Just like Flysenhower in my story “The Decision”, Kitty Hawk was originally a pittie later turned ship, previously gone under the name William (that is, William Bringle, the name of the irl captain of the Kitty Hawk) before his decision.
-KH is pretty up there in age, being numbered 63 (comparitively, Flysenhower is #81, weird because Eisenhower was #69 (har har) so I guess our boi is substantially younger/newer?? I don’t really know).
Soooo yeah! Kitty Hawk! The Less Shitty Kitty! Y’all enjoy, I actually had a lot of fun making this, doing the linework is so theraputic, just making shapes. Much fun to be had. XD

10 Anti LO Asks
1. theres so much unrealistic stuff in LO but rachel is a fool if she thinks people would totally be ok with hades wanting to be with a 19/20 year old who acts like a child. yes i am aware relationships can happen at any age (BETWEEN ADULTS) but theres a lot of legitimate reasons why people are disgusted by huge age gaps, and LO just makes it worse by emphasizing how childish and immature persephone is compared to hades yet all of three people in comic approve of it? what world is RS living in?
2. At anon 2 from the recent bunch of critiques, I had to chuckle at your keen eye! Honestly, Artemis' "dress" is just a slightly oversized shirt for her, since it barely covers Persephone's bits.
3. you know the "my wife" slip would actually be kinda cute if they had bee secretly dating for months/years and he just gott too excited over the future, as opposed to only knowing she's existed for all of a month at most, their first kiss being under un-romantic circumstances, not even going on a single date, and their marriage possibly only happening not out of love, but rather to keep persephone out of jail. what could be a cute slip is instead super creepy and possessive in the actual context.
4. lets be real here, rachel learning greek doesnt mean shit. she can be fluent in it and it wouldn matter when her whole MO is taking greek stories and culture to make it an american knock off. its like her claiming to be so well researched on myth, it doesnt matter when she just makes up whatever she wants anyway. she could use that time to actually making the comic good instead of trying to market herself as the next Madeline Miller (who actually has the credentials and none of rachel's ego)
5. im sorry, im greek and i dont want more greek stuff in lo. she cant even keep the actual myth or basic relationships in line, her adding random lines in greek wont do anything besides make herself and her fans feel like she now has more claim over a mythology she's already messed up beyond belief and constantly insults us with with her entitlement and bad attitude. she does not seem to love or respect our myths or culture, and learning our language (if she actually tries) will not change that.
6. i always see it as a bad sign when the only way to even try and make sense of a piece of work is the author(s) having to fill in the gaps via tweets, so the fact rachel has to constantly clear up confusion and try and fill in plot holes or just add stuff we never see in comic via her twitter is bad?? like she already drags it out so much and most readers arent going on her social medias, so why not just put this actual info and work into the actual comic? i dont understand that mentality at all.
7. IDK if this is just the issue of the romance genre itself, but it's bad writing that Persephone is only really defined in importance via Hades only. Her status and power in only being his wife. Her fertility powers are not defined in what it brings to her, just in how it can be useful to Hades (like his want for heirs). Even the comparison to Hera is not in that it shows she's queen material, but that she reminds Hades of the woman he wanted first and she won't reject him like Hera did.
8. i think lo fans just range too privileged to realize how bad the LGBTQ+, class system, and POC rep actually is. It's not a big win that Psyche is a WoC when she was introduced with non-black features, she's illiterate, and had her story was taken from her to focus on Eros, it's not a win that nymphs are low class who oppress the rich and are hated unless they're a "good one" (echo, daphne) to defend the rich, and its not a win the only LGBTQ+ rep is between two asexuals who just "got over it".
9. rachel would rather attempt to learn a new language (she literally can just ask a greek to translate lines for her also webtoons literally have translators on staff already) than use that time to make character sheets or double check her work for spelling errors. like she constantly always picks the dumbest ways to waste her time that she thinks will improve the comic than the stuff she could actually do (like fix the writing and art) like??? hello??? ma'am???
10. yeah im also confused bc the AOW happened but persephone doesnt actually seem to care. like she snapped bc the nymphs died, but she doesnt even tell us their names or mourn them, and her trying to pay for the dead mortals was not out of the goodness of her heart, and that was dropped for her to party and make out with hades. i love morally complex characters, but LO persephone isn't that, she's a spoiled child who cries she's the real victim as she gets away with figurative and literal murder.

hello!! how are you doing Molly? this feels like a bit of a strange request but I would love to hear your thought on what kind of exercise the characters in your AU do? we know that Kate runs and obv has incredible volleyball skills, I am getting a feeling that Anthony might have played rugby and given Lucy's drunken escapades she might have a history of doing gymnastics? as you can tell, I have spent way too much time thinking about it. would appreciate any thoughts you have on this!
Hello!
I’m doing good thanks! I managed to finish my knitting this morning (My sister is going to Tasmania so I was making her like a cowl/headband situation) and it turned out pretty great! It was a public Holiday in Australia today and as soon as I’m done here I’m gonna make some nachos and guacamole so... you know. Thrilling!
No request is a strange request in this inbox and it would thrill me to tell you about it! Very glad to have kept you wondering!  I will again, be sticking to our main six characters, actually, you know what, Edwina and Matthew Goose Bagwell are joining the fray with their love story this week let’s add em in!
Anthony does run, but as we found out this week he cannot keep up with Kate. Though he still claims this was because he was unfamiliar with the route. Anthony played rugby in school and university and Kate very much likes the idea of him in little shorts.
Kate as we know runs and and played Volleyball for the University of Lincoln. He does strength and conditioning under sufferance when Edwina begs her to go with her. Kate can also Ice Skate well, though nowhere near as well as Edwina.
Benedict is a Tennis guy. He played a little in school, not at art school and doesn’t really play anymore outside of the occasional hit. But he still loves going to Wimbledon every year.
Sophie doesn’t have time for exercise tbh, she’s a very busy gal. And she didn’t learn how to dance, or play badminton in school. The boarding school she was sent to was very... basic and more focused on giving the girls there practical skills. Benedict does eventually teach her how to play tennis though
Gregory is not really a sports guy. He played rugby and football at school like everyone else but he didn’t enjoy it. He decides to start going to the gym at lunch about 12 months after he starts working at B&S and poor Lucy, unbeknownst to Greg, spends a lot of time being very flushed and more than a little distressed when he comes back to the office in his singlets and shorts, his new biceps on display and when he lifts his shirt to wipe his brow one day poor Lucy drops all of Kate’s files.
Lucy did Gymnastics for 12 years. Uncle Robert was absolutely convinced that they would have an Olympic Gold medalist in the family. And yes, she liked it, but no, she did not like the very strict diet she was put on, the endless training, it was exhausting. So maybe she pretended to be a little worse at it than she actually was until Uncle Robert let her quit.
Matthew was a rower at Cambridge (where he went on scholarship) He doesn’t really do it anymore, but he did it at university because it seemed to be what everyone was doing. But she doesn’t do it so much anymore
Edwina despises her personal trainer, but it’s unfortunately part of her job to live up to the unfair standards of conventional beauty, despite how much she pushes for diversity in the industry, and she’s content to be a WOC in the industry at all, but that doesn’t stop her fighting for more diversity. Edwina is a very good figure skater. Like, probably could have turned professional, can do a double axel and is reasonably good at lifts with a partner.
Hope this satisfies your Curiosity

drusilla, spike, darla, and angelus for the ranking ask game
Angelus: I think he's the best villain on the show tbh. He may not be the strongest, but he was definitely the most challenging for Buffy from an emotional standpoint. Having the main love interest turn evil and STAY evil wasn't really a thing that happened back then, like it was very revolutionary and it honestly changed television. I also just find Angelus extremely compelling. Like, he doesn't kill just for the sake of killing, it isn't to cause chaos. He kills with purpose. Killing is his art, he even loves his victims (it's a perversion of love, in that soulless beings cannot truly love). He's just so??? Artistic? His speech in "Passion," the way he says to Spike, "To Kill this girl, you have to love her." The very definition of poetic cinema and it's chilling. He's just so terrifying. I don't really like how he's characterized in AtS, I MUCH prefer him in BtVS, but yeah. Still love him. My favorite villain. But I see him for what he is: soulless, evil, unsettling and disturbing.
Darla: You don't really see much of her in BtVS and if I hadn't watched AtS, I wouldn't rank her this high up. But I just feel so deeply for her... The fact that she was ready to die, the fact that she sacrifices herself for her son. Her relationship with Angel is just soooo complex and rich and layered. Watching her have a mental breakdown in season two was so hard to watch but so powerful and heartbreaking. She's messy, for sure, but iconic.
Drusilla: The very definition of Extra. God, I love her and I miss her so much when she leaves BtVS. Despite the fact that she isn't even in that much of the show, she has such deep ties with Angel and Spike, two very important characters in the Buffyverse. You don't see her much but you feel her influence and her presence. She has a great sense of fashion, and she's just genuinely so weird and literally insane. Love ha!
Spike: I used to like Spike more before I joined fandom. I know it's not his fault that a lot of his stans are so extra and insane, but it really does make me like him less 😭 I think he's super funny (season 4!! His best season!) and I think he works better as the Cordelia-type role he was originally written to fill. I really only start to have issues with him once he "falls in love" with Buffy, because then I start to expect more of him, and he does not deliver. I don't feel great about the fact that he killed two woc slayers, too, (I mean, it's definitely a product of the time it was written, but come on writers... why do that??? We see three slayers die on the show and two of them are Black and one of them is Chinese... oof. Not to mention the first slayer but I am going off on a tangent here) and the fact that he has a preference for young girls Dawn's age. Not to mention everything he does to Buffy 😭 I mean, he's a vampire, he's soulless, he's evil, but it's unsettling, to say the least and very unpleasant to watch. I think this is more so an issue with how the audience responds to him though, and that's really not something the writers can necessarily control. I do laugh a lot at some of his lines though, and I love his dynamic with Drusilla, Angel and Andrew. Also Giles.
send me a few characters and/or ships and I will rank them, with a brief explanation as to why!
