So like, it was a Canon divergent fic where wwx submitted himself to the clans and was ordered to be cleansed of resentful energy in order to... prove he wasn't corrupted? Something like that? For the Wens? And it was ritual dual cultivation. He was sent blindfolded to a room so he couldn't tell who it would be (it was lwj, of course.) Wwx knew it wouldn't exactly work cuz he didn't have a core, but he did it anyway.

I love Wangxian as much as the next guy, but my unpopular MDZS opinion is that both LWJ & WWX after the resurrection were really shitty brothers. Both to their own brothers and to each other's.

Like...JC just threw himself in front of WWX & his boyfriend & Jiggy's sword & took a stab to the chest just narrowly missing his heart, & Wei Wuxian DIDN'T EVEN ASK HIM HOW HE IS! I'm sure JC didn't want him to thank him, but totally ignoring that & forgetting about it is... you know, not fine. even LXC was more worried about his wound. After the temple, when everyone was talking to everyone else, & WWX thanked JC for giving Chenqing back to him, he doesn't even wait until JC's answer is fully out before he immediately turns back to look at LWJ!

Even JL who wasn't talking to JC at that moment saw that JC had something to say! But WWX not only didn't give him a chance to talk, but didn't even have any interest in what he had to say, and wouldn't listen to him just like all the other times when JC tried to talk to him (Repeatedly reminding WWX of his promise & even asking why didn't you go back to Lotus Pier). As you try to do, after you brother has returned from the dead, after causing his own death, your sister's and your brother-in-law's. WWX doesn't think that that's an issue that they need to talk about. Because it's unpleasant for him. While he is not the one who's owed an explanation or an apology. He's not the one who gets to decide if they're having this conversation or not. Let alone asking about JC's wound! WWX! just! Left! With! His boyfriend! & didn't look back! Not even after JC's public meltdown!

And and, what's worse, for both LWJ & WWX is this! Here is what happens when JC is trying to have a conversion with WWX about the non-consensual surgery WWX performed on him by mutilating himself on JC's behalf:

Why yes, he is injured, Hanguang-Jun! He's injured because he threw himself in front of WWX & you little fuck!

He does this once, and it causes JC's wound to open and start bleeding again, and then he goes to do it again!

It's a matter that seriously needs discussion, Hanguang-Jun. JC's world has turned upside down without him having a say in it or even being told about it for years, Hanguang-Jun. JC has every right to talk about it to the person responsible, Hanguang-Jun. It's a family matter, Hanguang-Jun.

And ffs What do you think WWX's brother wants to do to him?! After he took a stab to the chest for him?! He is wounded and his spiritual energy is sealed, what can he do? He's going through it right now in front of everyone. why would you humiliate him even more?! They're brothers! It's none of your business!

And WWX doesn't say anything! It's Jin Ling who must beg Hanguang-Jun to spare his uncle!

(I think they understood what a shitty move it was in the CQL, cause WWX at least lifts a hand to stop LWJ there. And LWJ doesn't actually push JC, opening his wound again, And then try to do it A SECOND TIME AFTER THAT!)

Like...Beating someone's family member in front of them is a very, very rude thing in general when they're themselves handling the situation very well. They were just having a family argument, and LWJ felt the need to beat JC. If you want to de-escalate a family argument, you do it the way JGY does. Or LSZ, A CHILD, de-escalates situations. While respecting both parties. Or else it just escalates even worse.

And this happened at the Jiang ancestral halls, too. WWX was the first to attack JC (which was totally within his brotherly rights when JC was being a little shit) and JC counter-attacked. JC's spiritual powers, unlike WWX's and LWJ's, hadn't returned yet. WWX totally got this. It wasn't their first time fighting. OK, LWJ deflected the first blow of Zidian. He didn't need to intervene further when WWX was beating JC in JC'S ancestral hall. WWX himself passed out when he realized wtf he was doing. (& bear in mind that hours ago, JC with his spiritual powers sealed, barely able to walk, picked his sword and was going to go back for WWX in the burial mounds, before he knew about the golden core thing)

Imagine your friend invites you to their home which they've ran away from when they were very young, their sibling that now owns the house lets you in even though you don't even say hi to them or acknowledge their existence there in anyway, & your friend invites you to somewhere you really have no business being in. IDK. Say, the master bedroom that's been locked ever since their parents' death. Your friend's sibling arrives there and they have an argument. You get offended in the crossfire but your friend leaps in to protect your honor, by beating the said sibling. The said sibling beats back. Can you imagine actually beating the sibling?! Trying to separate them, sure. But beating them?!

& others have talked in depth & better than I about how LXC just murdered the love of his life after some very shocking revelations & was 100% ready to die with him & was clearly going through it & LWJ just left with his boyfriend to fuck when LXC was the one who was there for him when HIS boyfriend died. Like..no LWJ didn't leave his brother after a few days. HE LEFT HIM THAT VERY MOMENT! DIDN'T EVEN GIVE HIM A HANDKERCHIEF OR A PAT ON THE SHOULDER!

And people have also talked better than I about how WWX didn't tell LXC about Sisi bc...he might have shown JGY mercy?

I just want a fic where Lan Sizhui gets anxiety the first time Wei Wuxian gets sick, because poor golden core means he overestimated himself and what he could do that winter and got a cold lmao, they just wanna isolate him so he doesn’t spread anything around, the healers say they’ll have him fixed up in a few days. But LSZ doesn’t understand why he’s being told he can’t see Xian-Gege right now??? He wants to talk to him and curl up against his side and try to help heal him?? Let him see his dad?? Lan Wangji is allowed in, so now he’s pouting, when the other juniors (the terror juniors, Jin Ling and Ouyang Zizhen and Lan Jingyi, of course) find him sulking in the bunny field with a couple rabbits in his lap and glaring at a tree.

This startles all of them, LSZ rarely glares at people, and there’s no one around even, who’s he got to be mad at rn??? They ask him and he sadly tells them he’s not being allowed in the healing halls right now. They all take offense at him not being allowed to see his dads, and immediately hatch a buuuuunch of hairbrained schemes to get him in to see his dads.

Eventually, after many many failures and rule copying, Lan Qiren finds them trying to sneak into a window and sighs so hard his soul leaves for a moment, and tells them they can see WWX, but they have to wash their hands and not disturb him. LQR is slowly warming up to the brat by way of his grandkid being absolutely adoring of him, and also the fact that the worst thing the man does these days is being shameless and wandering around with rabbits in his robes.

So. That’s how WWX woke up, almost filled healed, with a little radish on his tummy (curled up around his side so LSZ can put his head on WWX nice stomach) and JL pouting cause he has to hold the bunny basket (yes, they brought the rabbits with them, obviously, that was half the reason they kept getting told to go away) and OYZZ and LJY arguing about a book on the other side. He hasn’t felt this loved while being sick in a long time, if ever. And that’s saying something cause LWJ has barely left his side either, and now he’s petting both LSZ and WWX’s hair and giving them affection blinks of love. WWX is spoiled.

hello i am here to remind you that lan wangji did not wait for wei wuxian for 13/16 years because wei wuxian died. (now with edits!)

people don't come back from death! what happened to wei wuxian was the first time it had ever happened and probably the only time i would happen (at least in a long time) because the riutal can only be done under certain conditions, i.e. someone has to be willing to sacrifice themself, you have to call a spirit that is vicious enough etc. and most importantly, lan wangji had no idea about any of it being a possibility! [edit: only four people had used to ritual before mo xuanyu - so my point still stands i just forgot that detail - source: "only three or four examples [of using the sacrificial ritual] have been proven to be true" novel chapter 2]

lan wangji did not wait because waiting implies that he knew wei wuxian would come back, which he didn't because he died. he spent those 13/16 years mouring and taking care of lan sizhui, the only connection he still has with wei wuxian. he spent those years preparing to spend the rest of his life in mourning and wearing white mourning robes!

he played inquiry [edit: lan wangji does this in the donghua, consider that canon or fanon] to try to talk to wei wuxian but lan wangji's cultivation and skill with the qin language is so powerful that spirits he calls must answer him truthfully! so when he'd call for wei wuxian and get no answer: that was his proof that he had died. then he would ask other spirits if they knew what happened to wei wuxian, where he was, how he was etc. none of them knew anything about wei wuxian. [edit: spirits cannot lie to lwj when he uses inquiry (as seen in chapter 22: "Under his [lwj's] control, the spirit who came was unable to lie, and had definitely been answering the truth.") and lsz reveals that some people have the power to ensure spirits must answer in chapter 37: "the spirit that i summon will be able to avoid answering, but will not be able to lie. so, if it is willing to answer, then it will definitely speak the truth." this doesn't exactly mean that lwj has this skill but when speaking with jin ling, it says that lwj has mastered qin language in chapter 22: "As he mastered the language, without any hesitation, Lan WangJi confidently played a few limpid notes."]

because wei wuxian hasn't born to a sect, he didn't go through the rituals to make sure his spirit would reincarnate so when he died he turned into a spirit but because even his spirit was torn apart by ghosts and demons he was unable to do anything. [edit: i worded this weirdly - i was trying to say that the ritual prevented people from becoming ghosts and that wwx didn't have this ritual because he was the son of a servant and wasn't raised in a sect. this is mentioned in chapter 60: "disciples of famous clans, like Jiang FengMian and Yu ZiYuan, had been affected by their clan and their clan’s treasures since they were young. When they grew up, they’d receive countless soul-calming ceremonies so that there was only a miniscule chance of them becoming ferocious ghosts. But Wei WuXian was different. He was the son of a servant. He didn’t grow up in the Jiang Sect since birth, either. He didn’t have the chance to go through so many ceremonies. If after he really died with too much resentful energy and became a ferocious ghost to haunt them, it’d be quite a pain."] he spent those 13/16 years being fully unconscious and aware of what was happening but not having the power to do anything about it. he was in literal hell for 13/16 years! [edit: this you'll have to bare with me because i read it in a tweet and can no longer find it ;-; basically it stated what i said] so no spirits knew what happened to him and he couldn't answer to lan wangji's inquiry!

in conclusion, lan wangji did not wait!! [edit: it's still wrong to say that lwj waited for wwx even if i got stuff wrong lmao]

- More jc and wwx rebuilding their relationship and doting on jl

- Wwx and lqr relationship at cloud recesses. It’s so sweet seeing wwx stay himself while also trying to be respectful to his uncle in law because wwx doesn’t want lwj to have to sacrifice any more of his family standing than he already has. (That and he owes him a life debt for raising that perfect cabbage for him)

- More wwx and lxc bonding. I think wwx would sympathize to being manipulated and hurting people he loves indirectly (nmj, burial grounds electric boogaloo, killing jgy). I think mainly lxc loving someone the world hates and someone who hurt people he loves - and wwx being a person the world hated and hurt people that lwj loved would give them some solidarity. I think lwj would be jealous of someone having wwx’s time and attention but I think he wouldn’t be horny jealous of his wing man. (Things he is horny jealous of - wwx’s sister, wwx’s brother, a jacked dismembered torso…)

Post canon Lan Yuan's origins get revealed. In a distant town a pair realise that Lan Yuan is their long lost son separated from them in the camps. He's finally alive. They come to take him back. As Lan Wangji never fully adopted him and LSZ was merely a ward, and minor at that, his parents take him away. I mean why must only Cangse Sanren and Wei Changze get to come back hehe.

The first time a couple came to the Cloud Recesses claiming to be Lan Sizhui's real parents was... upsetting. The couple came with a convincing story about how they had escaped the Jin while being transferred to a different camp. The woman had the same eyes as Sizhui. They argued that Sizhui was not Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian's adopted son and that they had no right to keep him away from them. The Lan clan had been reluctant but willing to give him to the couple and Lan Wangji had looked like he was dying and Wei Wuxian would not stand for it. So Wei Wuxian had caught the couple in a lie.

"You claim to be Granny Wen's son? A'Yuan's father? That's strange. She told me that A'Yuan was her only daughters child."

The couple admitted to being hired to grab Lan Sizhui and deliver him to the sect leader. They were thrown out and Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji held their son close for a long, long time after they left.

After that the Cloud Recesses took precautions. They allowed Wei Wuxian to question the couples who arrived to claim Lan Sizhui. Sometimes the couples were hired by other sects and more then once it was a pair of rouge cultivators looking to make a name for themselves. Once it was a clearly unstable woman who really had lost her child years ago and had convinced herself it was Lan Sizhui. He talked to Wen Ning about Lan Sizhui's birth parents to get a better idea of who they were. Wei Wuxian dealt with all of them swiftly and brutally.

The whole ordeal was greatly upsetting to Lan Sizhui. He was more paranoid, constantly worried that someone would try to hurt him or steal him away. His studies and training suffered. He clung onto Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji more. He grew quiet and less social. Wei Wuxian reassured him a dozen times that he would never let any of those people take him away from them.

Thing went well for a while.

Then a couple came to the Cloud Recesses who knew every answer to Wei Wuxian's questions. They even got the trick questions right and corrected him when he gave them false facts. It made Wei Wuxian's skin crawl. He called Wen Ning to the Cloud Recesses because surely he would be able to confirm that these people were not his cousins.

But instead of saying he had never seen these people before in his life like Wei Wuxian had hoped, Wen Ning embraced them. He knew their names and was so, so happy to have found that more of his family had survived. He confirmed that they were Lan Sizhui's parents.

Wei Wuxian didn't realize he was holding Chenqing until Lan Wangji touched his hand.

"We can't let them take him," he told his husband in the safety of the Jingshi. Lan Wangji had been looking sad and resigned all day. "Lan Zhan, we can't let them take our son."

"He is their son-"

"No! He's ours! They left him in that labor camp when he was just a baby! They don't get to just- they can't take him Lan Zhan. Promise me they won't take him..."

Lan Wangji said nothing and made no promises.

Somehow got this from another thread yesterday: oyz is the most "knowledgeable" about sex and romance. Then it made me wanna rank them:

1- OYZ: a romantic who reads a lot of romance novels, which some do get rather graphic and are even illustrated. He theoretically knows more than the basics, despite having never done anything himself. He would totally be the one his bf turns to they want to know what to do so they do it correctly.

2- LSZ: this sweet and seemingly innocent bean always surprise them when he knows about such things. None of his bf are sure /where/ he learned all this (probably asked wwx, lwj or with some books), he simply tells them he wanted to make sure that he would never hurt his partner in the future because he didn't know how to do it well.

3- LJY: knows some things out of just being told how babies are made (for real, no metaphor!) And by very unfortunately stumbling onto interesting documents wwx had left all messed up with his other documents. There are things he also wishes he had never heard or noticed.

4- JL: never really had the time nor the interest to learn more than just how baby a really made. Jgy was often too busy to ever even think of having such a talk, where jc had his own problems and had never thought to talk about such thing with him, probably assuming jgy did. He tries to hide his lack of knowledge until he realises none of his bf will mock him for not knowing, they will learn with him as it goes.

Ok so,

Fem!Wangxian, where they live like canon women in the novel, and WWX has some privileges like being a rarely First Discipule, and goes to CR but study in the female side, and of course there is LWJ who is a a not good example for other women, because she doesn't smile, she enjoy silence, but in a woman who must look for a husband is not a good attitude.

So the both of them got similar experiencies and make best friends really fast, both are better that a lot of men, LQR left LWJ to LXC because he didn't know what to do with a girl. And LXC who spot his meimei.

Both LXC and JFM promises to not negotiate married, one wanna be free and fall in love like her parents and doesn't want to marry JC who is the only option, and LWJ makes LXC promises because she doesn't really like man, they are gross and stupid and if someone try to touch her again she's gonna shop his hand's off.

Canon happens, WC try to rape WWX but he can't. Then Phoenix hunt, LWJ kisses WWX but WWX discover her. Then JZxun say his uncle wanna claim WWX for the Jins, it doesn't matter it is like JGS or JZX concubine or better JZXun wife. Meanwhile JGY try to talk with Xichen about marry LWJ with himself, so when LWJ go with the idea (with a broken heart) maybe Xichen will marry WWX and protect her, Xichen proposes to marry LWJ with JGY, she feel really betrayed and leaves.

So, that nigth, LWJ and WWX talk and accepts to leaves their sect with the only man that can protect and both can accepts them

NHS accepts, because he is no stupid, and when two of the most beautiful women of his world proposes to marry him there is just ome thing to do. Accepts

NHS is asexual for me, maybe a little vouyer, so they have sex, just for babies and he look sometimes, because their two wives are beautiful, and he sees their marrieage in secret.

So, the 3 of them go to a Nie, Lan, Jin and Jiang doctor who can said the truth about the two ladies virginity and run, saves the Wen and have a lot of sex, because the best is if the two are pregnant. (They go to doctor because the Jins spread the rumour about WWX and Wen chao, it doesn't matter if she didn't wanted)

Nie Mingjue run after his brother because JC and LX want to kill him. They do this in secret, so nobody really knows what is happening, just the 3 of them leaves the conference.

They found them in a Inn naked, so NHS and WWX were hiding behind LWJ, because for me she is always a really tall and strong woman (just think in Tiane Endler physics, I mean her arms)

And then married. WWX was pregnant from A Yuan, Nie heir and later another babies, because she loves be pregnant and be take cared for LWJ and NHS who is a great husband and love a lot his wives in a platonic way. LWY was pregnant just one time, after their marriage, she doesn't really like the sex with NHS even if his husband and wife make all comfortable for her. So LJY born, and yes, he was raised for WWX for the real pain of LQR who just wants LSZ like heir, but Xichen refuses to married and spot his sister's son, all of them, because all of WWX children are from LWJ too.

Meanwhile, NMJ protects all of his little gremlins, and love them. Obviously he don't die.

8. this is pretty specific but i'm itmf fics that in some way have creative variety in wwx's demonic cultivation powers! i see a lot of standard control-fierce-corpses-and-ghosts type of stuff in fics, but i recently reread the books and there's a moment where wwx gets a skeleton to crawl out of the ground and whisper to him that the juniors were kidnapped (without even using chenqing i think?), and (inspired by that) i'd love to read something where the author just goes ham with the interesting alternative techniques lol.
