O the works of the Gods – in manifold wise they reveal them: Manifold things unhoped - for the Gods to accomplish bring. And the things that we looked for, the Gods deign not to fulfil them; And the Paths undiscerned of our eyes, the Gods unseal them.
So fell this marvellous thing.

Oh to be a farmer in New England… Waking up at the crack of dawn while the city still sleeps. Drinking your hot coffee as you suddenly notice a bunch of unhinged teenagers in white robes running around on your property. Oh how they would tear you apart like only feral animals would the second you try to approach them. Oh to be a farmer in New England :)

YAY, I finished my thyrsus!

This is the first magical tool I’ve made from scratch! Technically a thyrsus is supposed to be made from a fennel stalk, but pine is the best I’ve got. I asked the pine tree out back for a branch and quickly found this one in a pile of twigs. I chopped off the ends, stripped the bark, sanded it down, and wired the pinecone on. Once Quarantine is over I want to get some fake ivy to wind around it and maybe a green ribbon to compliment the purple ones.

I’m sort of treating Beltane as a belated Anthesteria. I suppose it would make more sense for me to celebrate Anthesteria now, when the flowers begin to bloom in the garden.

Hail Dionysus!
